(00:04):
The wooden cricket. Family look, Jesus doesn't leave
the real ones confused. He teaches us how to discern
what is true and what is false. He teaches us how to see
(00:27):
reality. Not by hype, not by charisma,
not by personality and not by platform, but by fruit.
I'm Lawrence and welcome back tothe Wooden Cricket Podcast.
And today, this one matters because Jesus is speaking about
what comes out of a life that isrooted in Him.
(00:50):
So we'll begin with his words again, because everything hangs
on this. And we continue in Matthew
Chapter 7, verses 15 through 20.Beware of false prophets who
come disguised as harmless sheepbut are really vicious wolves.
You can identify them by their fruit, that is by the way they
act. Can you pick grapes from
(01:14):
thornbushes or figs from a Thistle?
A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad
fruit. A good tree can't produce bad
fruit, and a bad tree can't produce good fruit.
So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped
(01:34):
down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a
tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their
actions. Fruit reveals root, Jesus said
so. Period.
And then he tells us how fruit happens.
(01:56):
John chapter 15, verse four and five remain in me, and I will
remain in you. For a branch cannot produce
fruit if it is severed from the vine.
Yes, I am the vine. You are the branches.
Those who remain in me and I in them will produce much fruit,
(02:18):
for apart from me you can do nothing.
This isn't a try harder, this isstay connected to Jesus fruit
isn't it? It's not human performance.
Fruit is evidence of His presence.
When Jesus is in you, His natureleaks through your tone, your
(02:42):
mercy, your kindness, your self-control, your ability to
love the unlovely, not because you're strong, but because Jesus
is. Jesus says it again in Luke
chapter 6, verses 43 through 45.A good tree can't produce bad
(03:04):
fruit, and a bad tree can't produce good fruit.
A tree is identified by its fruit for the mouth speaks what
the heart is full of Your tongueis like a window.
Your tone it's like a mirror andyour reactions they're like a
(03:25):
like a heart. EKG James says it like this.
James 3 verse 12 Does a fig treeproduce olives?
No, and you can't draw fresh water from a salty spring.
And now here's where it gets personal, where it gets direct,
where it gets incredibly real. Because this is no longer
(03:50):
theory. This is Jesus pulling the
curtain back on reality. There are four kinds of
listeners right now. I'm speaking to each one right
here, right now, in Jesus name to the believer.
You already know him, so don't coast.
Don't live off of last season's fruit.
(04:11):
Don't eat yesterday's harvest. Stay connected, stay abiding,
stay humble. Let Jesus prune you, because
pruning isn't punishment, it's preparation for more fruit.
To the one who's unsure, you don't need to clean yourself
(04:32):
before you come to Jesus. You don't need to fix your life
to earn His love. Fruit grows after the
connection, not before it. So come home to Jesus.
Come now, not when you feel ready, because He is ready for
you today. Right now, this second to the
(04:54):
Church, the world is drowning incounterfeit spirituality and
Jesus said we will know the truefrom the false by fruit.
That's character over charisma, holiness over hype, humility
(05:17):
over platform, and love over performance.
We do not need better marketing,we need better fruit into the
struggler. You are not disqualified.
(05:37):
Your weakness is not the end of your story.
Jesus heals root systems. Jesus strengthens weak branches
and Jesus restores dry places. So stay connected, stay close,
and remember he's not ashamed ofyou, he loves you.
(06:02):
So family, stand up in your spirits.
Anchor your life in Jesus. Remain in Him, walk with him,
talk to him, listen for him and obey him.
It's not about trying to make fruit, it's about staying in the
(06:23):
line, staying connected to the vine that produces it.
Fruit is the evidence that Jesusis alive in you.
And hey, if you happen to be in Winnipeg, Calvary Temple is a
place where this is lived out. It's not pretended.
It's where Jesus is preached, where discipleship matters,
(06:46):
where families heal, and where people encounter the presence of
God for real. You don't have to do life alone,
and you don't have to walk this path isolated.
Find community. Check out Calgary Temple Online,
but plug in and worship alongside people who absolutely
(07:06):
love Jesus. Until tomorrow, friends, I hope
you all stay well. Be a bright light in a dark
place. We'll see you tomorrow.
How about peace?
