(00:04):
The wooden cricket. I'm Lawrence and welcome back to
the Wooden Cricket Podcast. Today we pause.
We remember. We honor those who stood between
(00:25):
darkness and freedom, those who gave, fought, prayed and served,
and the families who carry theirlegacy.
Today I honor my Grandpa Pringlewho fought in World War 2.
Every man and woman who stepped forward when the world needed
courage. You're not forgotten.
(00:49):
And as we remember their sacrifice, we turn our eyes to
the greatest sacrifice of all, Jesus who laid down his life for
the world. And he said no one has greater
love than to lay down one's lifefor his friends.
And that's found in John 15 verse 13.
(01:10):
That's real love. And today, fittingly, our story
from Jesus is all about something small, something that
looks ordinary but becomes extraordinary in God's hands.
The parable of the mustard seed.So if you'll turn with me to
(01:31):
Matthew chapter 13, we'll read verses 31 and 32.
Here's another illustration Jesus used.
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field.
It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of
garden plants. It grows into a tree, and birds
(01:55):
come and make their nests and its branches.
Jesus could have picked any seed.
He chose the smallest one that he could name and that was
deliberate. He was saying God doesn't need
size to start something world changing.
(02:17):
He just needs your surrender. He just needs your availability.
The mustard seed doesn't look like much, but neither did
Bethlehem and neither did the cross.
But all three, Heaven was working.
God takes tiny and turns it intosomething eternal.
(02:40):
That means your prayers matter. That quiet obedience that nobody
sees. It matters.
That little moment where you choose love over pride, It
matters. That 5 minute scripture time
before work? That matters because seeds don't
(03:00):
shout when they're planted, theygrow when they're buried.
Man, you know, growing up in the90s, we didn't have overnight
everything like we have today. Man, I sound old.
We waited for downloads, for mixtapes, for dreams to happen.
(03:21):
We learned patience. Impatience is the soil where
faith gets to grow. Jesus says the Kingdom grows the
same way, not overnight, but over time.
So if you're feeling like your faith is small, if your hope is
running thin, hear this loud andclear.
(03:45):
Jesus is not asking for perfection, He's asking for
participation. Give him your little and he will
grow it into much. Give him your small faith and
he'll grow it into shelter for others.
Give him your mustard seed, he'll make a tree because that
(04:08):
is what God does. My friends from Bethlehem all
the way to Calvary, he's been proving that small beginnings,
birth eternal purpose. That baby in a Manger.
Mustard seed moment. That Carpenter preaching to 12
rough fishermen. Mustard Seed Ministry That Hill
(04:30):
called Golgotha a Mustard seed victory.
And now here we are, living under the branches of that tree
that began as a seed. That's gospel.
That's the Kingdom. That's Jesus.
(04:52):
So here's the call today. Don't hide your seed.
Plant it. Water it.
Pray over it. Use it for Jesus.
Use the gifts he's given you forhim.
You might not see the growth yet, but in my experience, God
does hit some of His best work in the hidden and in the unseen.
(05:15):
If He's planted it in you, He intends to grow it in you.
So whatever that small thing is in you, your kindness, your
dream, your witness, your song, your gift, whatever it is, give
it to the Lord and let Him multiply it.
That's Kingdom living. That's mustard seed faith, and
(05:37):

Today we remember the ones who lay down their lives for
(05:59):
freedom, and we follow the one who laid down his life for our
eternity to keep planting, keep trusting, keep believing that
God can do much with your littlebecause mustard seed faith in

the hands of Jesus can move mountains until tomorrow.
