Some stories make headlines. Others get ignored. On "Unreported," Meagan Medick takes a deeper look at the unexplained through the eyes and experiences of you, the viewers. You send the mystery — we investigate.
This week, Meagan asks whether we've been asking the wrong question about simulation theory and whether AI itself is quietly taking control of the conversation, joined by Nick Bostrom, philosopher and author of the New York Times bestseller “Superintelligence,” who has spent decades studying how artificial intelligence could reshape humanity. They discuss whether AI could uplift bioterrorism and help design new pathogens, what happens to jobs and the global economy once AI and robotics take over human labor, if "digital minds" may soon outperform the human brain entirely and whether humanity still has any real control over where this is all headed. "There might be some kind of handover point where, in a sense, we are entering retirement," Bostrom says.
