>> Announcer (00:00):
On the next episode of Sips, Suds and smokes.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (00:04):
Since this is our best of season 13, we won't be
rating them as we would be rating everything else
to 5 anyway, because these are all fives in our
book. Our plan for this smoke segment is to go
over our top five and discuss @ least one of those
in a bit more detail. Let me kick this off with
Rich's top five. He had the Oz family cigar,

(00:26):
Caritoba. A great cigar. Crownheads Broadway great
cigar. And the Natura second. Second harvest.
These are all great cigars. The war.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Fighters. Funny how that.
Works. The war fighter cigar, Night shift. Uh, now
tell me about your.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Favorite and the black work studio.
Hornet. That's right. That's your number one. Uno.

(00:46):
Yeah. Oh, my God. Get it off. Get.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (00:50):
It. Hold.

>> Announcer (00:51):
Still. We'll be right back after this break.

(01:17):
Brought to you almost live from the, uh, dude in
the basement.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Studios.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (01:21):
Why? Because that's where the good stuff.

>> Announcer (01:24):
Is. It sips, suds and smokes with your smokin
host, the good old boys. Hey, man, got a light?

(01:53):
It's time for.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (01:54):
Smokes. Hey, everybody. Welcome to the best of
season 1313 wow. Of the smokes episode where
everything good in life is worth.

>> (02:09):
Discussing. Wow, he actually nailed.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It. He.
Did. What did it take him, like 4 everything.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Life. Good 13. 13.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (02:17):
Seasons. Yeah, it took 13 seasons to get me to say
that.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (02:20):
Right? Late.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (02:21):
Rumor. Yeah, I guess so. Uh, to my left, I got
good old boy Rich. Welcome.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Back. Hey, glad to be here.
Coach. Good old boy Benjamin was supposed to be on
the ones and twos, but he's not.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (02:30):
Today. How.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (02:30):
Neighbor? And then, uh, back, due to judges
orders, is required to be here for a minimum of 50
hours a month for his community services. Good old
boy.

>> (02:39):
Mike.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (02:41):
Yes, we are the best thing on your car radio right
now. So keep both hands on the wheel, don't drink
and drive, and remember, it's 50 points for
pedestrian. So send us an email, let us know what
your high score is. And as you know, and I hope
you know, smoke segments are all about cigars and

(03:02):
soon to be everything that is smoked. And I can't
wait to do that episode. And as you, uh, also
know, since this is our best of season 13, we
won't be rating them as we would be rating
everything else to 5 anyway, because these are all

(03:23):
fives in our book. Our plan for this smoke segment
is to go over our top five and discuss @ least one
of those in a bit more detail. We also have a full
episode where we'll discuss More of these five top
notches. A bit more. Uh, let me kick this off with
Rich's top five. He had the Oz Family cigar,
Caritoba. A great cigar, Crown Heads, Broadway

(03:46):
Great Cigar, and the Natura Second Harvest. These
are all.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (03:50):
Great.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (03:50):
Cigars. The. The.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: War Fighters. Funny how.
That works. The War Fighter cigar, Night Shift.
Now tell me about your.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Favorite and the black work.
Studio, Hornet. That's right. That's your.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Number one. That was my.
Number one. Uno. Yeah. Oh, my God. Get it.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (04:05):
Off. Get.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (04:07):
Hold still. If you don't bother them, they won't
bother you. That's right. Yeah. Tell us.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: About it. So that black, uh, works studio, Hornet
was released in 2023 by Black Works Studio.
Obviously, the Hornet is a pumped up version of
its robust cousin, the.
Killer Beef. It was originally released as a
Habano, if I'm not mistaken. Oh.

(04:29):
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Really? Correct. So interesting. Yeah, it's
imposing. Ecuadorian Maduro wrapper is supported
by a Nicaraguan binder and filler. The wrapper is
accented with a closed foot and swirled cap made
from a candela wrapper. The Hornet is known for
its strength that is balanced out with a
complexity of flavors. Like its namesake, the

(04:50):
Hornet will leave a lasting but pleasant stain in
your pallet that you will not.
Soon forget. Benjamin's got close feet.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (04:57):
Too close.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (04:59):
They're web. They fit in them shoes pretty good.
Help.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: You swim, are they? Yeah, it's, uh, not.
A cloven. That's right. Right. That's right. So
tell us about it. The binder.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Filler rapper. Binder filler rapper. Nicaraguan.
Nicaraguan. Nicaraguan. Oh, a little bit of

(05:19):
candela on.
That rapper. Now. They do a pretty cool little
jaunt with their.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Little swirls.

>> (05:24):
Swirly.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (05:25):
Swirl. Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (05:26):
Jake Wyatt. Yeah, that's right. That's right.
Jake.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: White says. I think it adds a.
Little.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Bit. Didn't. Didn't.
Do much. I do like.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: The clothes. You know, having that closed foot on
it really makes it interesting as a. I, uh, think
a. A boost to.
Your lighting. Do you think that candela on the.
The cap, do you think that that adds a flavor or

(05:47):
is it just for looks?
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: For looks. Probably just for looks. I don't know.

>> (05:53):
If it. Hang on just.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (05:54):
One second. I wish to register.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: A complete. Yes, okay. All.

>> (05:59):
Right, Mike. No, what.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (06:00):
Is it? Doesn't add anything. All it does is you
look at it, you go, I can cut that off. I don't
know how much.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (06:07):
Of this candela would I like to cut off.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (06:11):
You know? Well, well, I. I Mean, I think that's a
great cigar, and I actually love that cigar as
well. Why did you.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Pick it? Well, like, the thing that stood out to
me, I like a bold smoke. I like a bold cigar with
a lot of flavor, a lot of spice. Uh, something
that can kind of smack me upside the head. I like
this one because the intensity of it grew as I.

(06:32):
Smoked it. Yeah. Ah, yeah. Okay, so it's a grower,
not a.

>> Announcer (06:36):
Shower.
Yeah. Wow. Banned.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (06:40):
Once again. And we were the.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Best.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (06:44):
Thing. Yeah. Not driving through Iowa again.
Listen, I absolutely love that cigar, too. It's a
great cigar. Have you guys tried them?

>> (06:55):
Mike, Benjamin. I've had some other Black Works,
but I don't recall.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (06:59):
Having that. You don't got a lie to be on.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Air.
Here. No. All right, well, up next, we're gonna go
through, uh, Benjamin's top five list. He also has
the Oz Family Caritoba, the Crown Heads, Belgian
Blue, the El Titan D Bronze, the Tatuaje Pork

(07:20):
Tenderloin. If you haven't had that, try that,
folks. It's so good. But, Benjamin, I need you to
tell us what your favorite cigar was.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (07:28):
This year. My favorite also, uh, came from Black.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (07:31):
Works Studio. Yes, sir. Prepare ship for.

>> Announcer (07:35):
Light speed. No, no, no.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (07:36):
Light speed. Speed is too slow. Light speed too
slow. Yes. We're gonna have to go right to
ludicrous speed. Ludicrous. I knew it. I'm
surrounded by. I don't know. All right, well, tell
us what you tell us about.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (07:50):
This cigar. Yeah. So the Black Works Studio,
Intergalactic Event Horizon. Uh, it's a limited
edition, um, re release from Black Work Studios.
Originally, uh, released in 2022. Um, re released,
uh, in 24, and then obviously hit shops in 25. Um,
but it was one of those things where I had been
kind of branching out a little bit, looking for.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (08:12):
Something different. Rich. I was wrong. Oh. Yours
wasn't originally released as a Habano. The
Intergalactic.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (08:19):
Was originally. Wrong again, Barger. Yep. Uh, so
the original release in 22 of the Intergalactic
was a.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (08:28):
Sumatra wrapped. I thought this was the.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (08:30):
Sumatra. Nope. Ah.

>> (08:32):
Wrong again.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (08:33):
All right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (08:34):
Crushing it. Oh, hey, this one.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (08:35):
Is.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (08:36):
Broadleaf. Okay. Um, but it's a darker shade of
the broadleaf. Right. Great. Um, spice complexity
all the way through this thing. Same, uh, kind of
profile is rich. I do like big, uh, punchy cigars.
This one had some, like, really cool dark fruits
on it as well. And then once I found out it was a
limited edition, uh, I just sought out as many as

(08:59):
I could.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (08:59):
Possibly find. I'm still waiting for one.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:01):
That's right. Good.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:02):
Luck, dude.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:03):
I'm. I'm. I might have one. We know people in.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:06):
A human. Yeah. Black Works needs to send me
somebody I know. Send us.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:10):
A box. Send us two.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:12):
Or.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:12):
Five. Yeah. Or you know, each. We'll have as many
as you heard. Was. I want a lot of.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Intergalactic cigars. I lock them.
A lot. I said ah was I'll take all the
intergalactic event. Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:27):
Duke Silver, best.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:31):
Underrated show. But yeah, man, this was just one
that um, you know, desert island for me. Uh, and
really, you know, lit my fire, if you will about
uh, Black Work Studios, um, and the things that
are coming out of.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:44):
That factory. Yeah. I've really been surprised by
Black Work Studio this year. Um, they, they have a
vast portfolio and a lot of their le stuff. Even
the poison dart. Like that was a.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:58):
Great cigar. I'll do those.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:59):
Coffin nails. Oh.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:00):
100. 100. Keep that in your.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:02):
Front pocket. Keep it up, guys. Just keep up
coming out with all these things and you'll keep
being on our list if.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:07):
You like. Uh, and then they was uh, the.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:10):
The bishop. Or if we like. Not if.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:12):
You like. I think they re released the Bishop this
year which is a Lancero that.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:15):
They produce. They had a Lancero girl and I missed
it.

>> Announcer (10:19):
Hey.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:19):
Girl.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Hey. Wow. Hey, Queen Wowzers.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:23):
Come on. Yeah, well, I'm gonna go find.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:25):
Those tonight. Yeah. If you're looking for
something, you know, big.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:30):
Full bodied.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:31):
Right? Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:32):
Beautiful spice. Um, reminds me of my.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:35):
First girlfriend. Subtle notes of over stewed.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:38):
Fruits. Yeah. Nothing like steeping fruit like.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (10:43):
Putting a pinch of pie in between you chicken gum.
You know.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:50):
Oh my. All right. We'll be right back, folks.
Yeah. Listen, I was wrong once in this last
segment and that's all we need to know, okay? And
it wasn't about Rich's cigar. It was about
Benjamin's cigar. The intergalactic. Anyway, thank

(11:10):
you and welcome back folks to a wonderful episode
of Our best of 2025 for Sip Suds.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (11:16):
And smokes. Also found a sasquatch during.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:18):
The break. Did you? No. Oh, man. I was like,
where? Where my.

>> (11:25):
Heady friends? That was funny. It was.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:29):
Really good. All right. Where man? Yeah. As I
light.

>> (11:33):
The.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:34):
Bong. Yeah. All right. So Mike, conspiracy theory
number 14.8. Hey, Bigfoot's real. Don't.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Knock it.
All right. I'm telling you.

>> (11:41):
Where's that? There.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:42):
We go. Yeah. All right. Mike's. Mike's top five
lift is here. We're gonn throw it away. If he
keeps on antagonizing me, uh, he starts with the
Imami Petra Maduro. That's a great cigar. The Cao
Amazon Bays and Dagger 2025, which is not on
anyone else's list ever. Um, the Adventura La

(12:02):
Lorana, the Cohiba.

>> (12:05):
Beheki 56. Because you can't hide money well.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:08):
You know. Now let's talk about, tell us about.

>> (12:11):
Your favorite. So, uh, my favorite is the
Macanudo, uh, French oak.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:16):
Release three. Ooh wee.

>> (12:18):
Wee. Bond for the third and final release,
Macanudo's collaboration with Flint Knoll Winery,
the Macanudo estate reserve release 3 uses tobacco
aged in the prestigious French oak barrels that
produce Flint Knowles Award winning 2021 Royal

(12:38):
Appointment Cabernet Sauvignon. To complete the
Macanudo Estate Reserve trifecta, we returned to
our friends at the Flintanol Winery in Napa Valley
to create a cigar representative of our boundary
breaking, uh, partnership. 2021 was a remarkable
year for Napa Valley wine. It really was. Um, a
lack of rain, lower temperatures resulted in an

(13:00):
ultra rare vintage that led to multiple awards
including Flint Knowles 2021 Royal Appointment
Cabernet Sauvignon. To craft the estate reserve
release number three, we aged the tobacco in the
very same French oak barrels that perfected the
wine. Leading the cigar a, uh, unique elegance and

(13:20):
smooth smoking experience. Notes of cedar, vanilla
nuts are balanced by a sophisticated nod to the
region by which the cigar was so heavily
influenced. The binder was Connecticut broadleaf.
The filler was Brazilian mata Fina, Dominican
Alar, Nicaraguan jalapa and the Dominican palato
Cubano. A lot going.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (13:40):
On there. There's a lot.

>> (13:42):
Going on. Uh, the rapper is Ecuadorian,
Connecticut shade, really fantastic stick. Um, you
know, I think the thing that caught me about that
particular cigar was, was not really expecting a
whole lot. And I just uh, I picked it up thinking

(14:02):
it was just going to be a Connecticut, you know,
run of the mill Macanudo. And it just absolutely
blew me away. I'm not much for. I really do not
like cigars that are aged. You don't like cigars
in a whiskey barrel, a wine barrel or in some
other, you know, secondary? No, I just, I
generally just don't like all of that gimmickry at

(14:24):
all. But this really worked exceptionally well and
I really, really like this a lot. I would go back.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: To these. Did it make you feel fancy.
Smoking it? Uh, you know, the thing that caught me
is elegant was absolutely the uh, the word. I just
remember, uh, you know, it was like, wow, you
know, do. Do I get to be invited to the cotillion.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (14:45):
Or something? So. So I've actually smoked this one
too. And the banding is, uh, beautiful. Like,
they've got their whole, like, flint and all kind
of aspect on the band, the same way they do their
bottles. And it's actually. It's just a beautiful
band. It's good to look at, you know? Uh, uh, so I

(15:08):
think that's a great cigar.

>> (15:09):
On there. Let's hear about.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (15:11):
Your list. Which is interesting because I'm.

>> (15:13):
Not a fan of most macanudos, but I am usually.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (15:15):
Not either. The last couple that I've had for
macanudo has been the emissary, and a couple have
been pretty decent. All right, so here's my list,
folks. Uh, I'm gonna go with the Rocky Patel year
of the snake, which is absolutely.

>> (15:31):
Fantastic. Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (15:35):
That's wrong. Yeah. The Crownhead MIL DS Limited
Edition 2025. The Maduro version. Oh, I didn't get
one of those. Yeah, well, because you got to buy
them because, you know, John doesn't like to send
us things sometimes. John, send us some cigars.
Yeah. And the imami kimono, Connecticut. Which, if
you guys have not listened to our imami episode,

(15:57):
go listen to.

>> (15:58):
That episode. That's two sticks from that.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:01):
One episode. I know. I know it. Two cigars from
one episode. That's hit our top five list of this
year and hands down. Ah, Armenie, mommy is putting
out some.

>> (16:12):
Fun cigars. That was a.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:13):
Really great. He is putting out some great cigars.
And then the, uh, A.J.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (16:17):
Fernandez. Cameroon. The.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:19):
New.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (16:20):
World.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:20):
Yes. Fire. Oh, so good. So good. All right, now,
my favorite cigar this year is the Foundation.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Axum crush.
Good job. Magnificent. Who. Who do.

>> (16:41):
I owe? The fact that he.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:42):
Nailed that. Let me get through these words first.
Here. There's. This is pulled from their website.
The Aksumite kingdom in ancient civilization in
present day Ethiopia stood as a beacon of power,
culture, and tradition. According to the Ethiopian

(17:05):
legend, Menelik the first, the son of king Solomon
and the queen of Sheba, brought the ark of the
covenant to Aksum, where it has remained, ever
remained, ever since. To this day, a single
guardian devotes his life to watching over the
sacred relic, protecting it day and night. Drawing
inspiration from the storied empire, the Axum line

(17:28):
is a testament to the heritage, craftsmanship, and
tradition carefully blended to deliver a refined
smoking experience. It embodies foundation cigars,
commitment to exceptional quality and respect for
timeless legacy Of Axum. Axum. A journey through
legend crafted in every cigar. So this is a
wrapper is a Sumatra, Ecuador. The binder is a

(17:51):
Connecticut broadleaf, and the filler is Estali
and Jalapa, Nicaragua. M. So the guy from
foundation, I have been trying to interview him
for three.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Three years.
Three years. Three years. Every time we go busy,
he's busy.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: He's busy. He's working. He is.

(18:12):
A work. Now, that dude is one of the nicest people
when you actually get to talk to him. One of the
nicest people that I've ever got to talk with, and
that just made me feel like I mattered. And when
he. He gave us this box of axums@pca and I split

(18:33):
it with you guys, uh, or whoever was at.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (18:36):
PCA with us, I.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (18:37):
Should say. M. Yeah, it wasn't with you guys. It
was. It was the. You know, there was four of us at
pca, and I split them with the guys that were at
pca. And I'm telling you, this cigar just floored
me. From construction quality to flavor profile to

(18:57):
whatever you want to pair this thing with, it goes
well with everything. Now, keep in mind, there's
two, uh, rappers, I believe there's a Connecticut.
The Maduro, um, this. What I got was the Maduro,
um. But everything he's got going on is just
fantastic. If you get a chance to try some of any

(19:18):
of these lines that we've discussed, you know,
Imami Crown Heads, A.J. fernandez foundation,
literally, just go out there and ask your people,
by your people, I mean your local cigar shop, that
you want to try these, and they'll get them in.
Yeah, well, they'll try. I was thinking as I'm.

>> (19:37):
Walking up and going, I have a Mills DS limited
edition. I can hear.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (19:41):
Them laugh. Well, we'll be right back to talk more
about that. Both hands on the wheel. Wake up,
grandpa. Welcome back to the show. You know, keep
us in your radio, because we'll help save your
lives. That's right. Or we'll help you rack up
points. One of the two. Uh, we just went over our

(20:05):
favorite cigars. That's right. We just went over
our favorite cigar list. Top five for the year for
all four of us here. And, uh, you know, we're
gonna take a couple minutes each and talk about
one more of the cigars that really just stood out
to us. And we're gonna let Rich start. Rich, you
got two minutes.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: You better. Two minutes. All right, so let's talk
about the.
War fighter. War.

>> (20:23):
Fighter shift. So on our show, yes, yes, we had.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: A show. Um, rapper, Ecuadorian, Habano, Oscuro,
and Honduras. Something. Can't read my own
writing. Binder is Indonesian, and the filler was
Nicaraguan. Medium body. It had the. God, I must.
I must be like a candela ring guy, because this

(20:44):
one had the candela ring as well. So. Yeah, maybe
it does.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (20:48):
Add something.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (20:49):
Yeah, yeah. You.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Know, this. This thing was really, uh. It's just
really good. A little bit of sweet, a lot of cedar
kind of flavor, uh.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (21:00):
To.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It. Enjoyed. Um, it had a good draw. Everything
about it.

>> Announcer (21:05):
Was just.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Kind, um, of hit right in the middle of.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (21:09):
The pallet. Right. For me. If you want to know
more about that cigar, you can check out our
Warfighter episode in our back catalog. But that
Night Shift. And I'll tell you what, John Simmons
is the guy's name who does War Fighter, him and
his team. I don't, um. I mean, I'm not going to
butcher anybody else's name. I just remember John.
That's who I dealt with. But like, salt of the

(21:30):
earth people. Military, owned, operated, just all
around. Good. Now they got a fun story about the
Night shift. You got.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: 30 seconds. I don't.
Remember it. Okay, I'll tell you. So the Night
Shift is about them flying helicopters with night
vision goggles.

>> (21:44):
Yeah. Right. I thought I remembered. I knew that
the band has, like, you know, it looks like you're
that green hue.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (21:50):
About it. Yeah. Ah, no, that's.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Super cool. No, yeah, it.
Makes sense. I absolutely love that cigar.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Too. So. Yeah, well, that's one of those cigars
that, you know, I smoked it as far down as I could
without, you know, injuring myself, let me put it
that way. Yeah, I just wanted more and more and
more of.

>> (22:09):
It.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (22:09):
So. Yeah. Uh, well, John, send us a box. We'd love
to have some.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Of those. And again, go to the social media. We
interviewed him at the, uh, Premier.
Cigar association. That's, uh, right this year.
And, uh, so go check that out on Instagram.
Benjamin Michael.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (22:26):
Pick one. Uh, for me, it's going to be the crown
heads, Belgian blue. Oh, uh, good. The limited
edition big body. And I, you know, uh, you see the
new one becoming a continuous production, which I
am super excited about. Uh, not only did this
thing hit the big, bold flavor profile notes, it

(22:46):
has this beautiful spice that just kind of sings
all the way through. Uh, is a smooth smoke. Right.
This thing isn't harsh at any point throughout the
experience, at least for me. And I think that
that's one of the things that really stood out,
um, when I picked one up this year was that it's
just blended perfectly in my opinion. Right. Like,

(23:09):
everything works together. It, it's very similar
to like a well blended bourbon that you could.
You're just like every sip you're waiting for the
next one. Because it's just, even though it does
have the strength, uh, that I definitely seek out
in the cigars that I smoke on a consistent basis.
It still just had like this velvety smooth,

(23:30):
almost, you know, like waxy texture, uh, that
coated the pallet as you went through this thing.
And then I saw, uh, maybe a month or so ago that
they're gonna make this a, uh, consistent, um,
production for 20, 26. And I'm pretty sure, yeah,
I like fist pumped, uh, in my.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (23:49):
Living room. Yeah, I did too, when I.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (23:52):
Seen it. Come.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (23:52):
M on. Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (23:53):
Let'S go. That's the news that you, you love to
hear. Because I, you know, I, I think a lot of
them, uh, that were on a lot of our top fives
were.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:01):
Limited edition.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (24:02):
Oh, yeah. I don't remember the.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:04):
Box size. I think it's a box of 12 because the
other Los Calaveras is box.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (24:08):
Of.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:08):
24. Okay. I think so their Les come in 12.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (24:11):
And 24. But yeah, to see, you know, something, you
know, and le make it into consistent production,
um, is just super exciting that they're able to
source tobaccos and continue to put this.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:23):
Thing out. Yeah, absolutely. All right, Mike, I
hate to turn the mic over.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (24:27):
To you. I'll see what you.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:29):
Did there. Yeah. What do you got? Tell us.

>> (24:32):
Another one. Well, there's just so many great
choices, you know, off my top.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:37):
Five list. All right, that's Mike's.

>> (24:39):
Time, everybody. Um, I would absolutely encourage
you. I'm going to mention a couple of these and
then maybe one in a little bit. So the imami, um,
that maduro was just so good. It was so good. And
it was a reference maduro. I mean, you know, when
somebody says you're having a really good Maduro
stick, I'm going to tell people. How does it

(24:59):
bounce up against that imami? Uh, you know, um,
Petro Maduro. Um, these other two, the, um, uh,
Adventura, um, you know, La Llorona and, uh,
Cohiba are just. You're not gonna find them. You
know, they're just amazing cigars.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:17):
Um, ah. Uh, you might find Adventura. You won't
find.

>> (25:19):
The Cohiba. Yeah. Um, yeah, it's.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:23):
A really. You won't find the.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Cao.

>> (25:24):
Basin. Yeah. So I am Absolutely. A, you know,
Amazon Basin fan. I, you know, have had sticks out
of every single release, and so they changed
things up a bit this year while coming out with,
um, the Amazon Basin Dagger, which is. It's a
different size, um, and it's a slightly different

(25:45):
filler, uh, and binder than the regular Amazon
Basins, I believe was, you know, kind of the core
difference. The big thing is it's a different
price point, so it's actually, you know, a lot
cheaper, you know.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:57):
As.

>> (25:57):
Well. Yeah. So I thought that this finally exposed
a lot of, you know, other people to really enjoy,
you know, this particular product that, you know,
the regular Amazon Basins are nearly, uh,
impossible to find, and the price point is just
usually really kind of off the hook, you know,
about them as well. Yeah, but, yeah, really, um,

(26:18):
all of these, you know, coming back to them.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (26:20):
For sure. Yeah. No, absolutely. And I think that's
the most important thing to remember is when we go
our list of top fives. These are cigars that any
occasion, any setting, any time of day, if we can
smoke it, we're.

>> (26:35):
Gonna smoke. I am gonna try that Belgian.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (26:37):
Blue that. I'll give you one. I got a couple at
the house. You can have one. Um, so here we go.
I'm gonna. I want to talk about another Imami
cigar, man. If you guys listen to our PCA episode,
everything that we talk about, even in Cigar 101,

(26:57):
we talk about branding, right? So we talk about
branding and how when we walk into a humidor, you
see something and you snap, judge it, right? And
you automatically get this a feeling or aesthetic.
Ah, aesthetically, this is pleasing to me, and
this is not pleasing to me, Right? And so you

(27:18):
gravitate towards it. When I first saw Armin at,
uh, pca, he was just the chillest guy sitting in
the thing. And the branding to me was, like, over
the top, right? Because there's, like three bands
on every cigar. Uh, four bands on every cigar.
But, dude, I'm. I'm telling you that what that

(27:44):
dude's doing is. Is good. Every cigar that that
guy has put out, I don't know what Factory is
working with. We. It might be in our episode, or
it might not be in our episode, but, man, I'm
telling you, I'm. I'm. I'm up start. Uh, I buy
his.

>> (27:58):
Cigars. Absolutely. That flight, uh, was. There
were five in our flight. And yeah, I'm telling
you, they were all.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:06):
Really exceptional. That was the. The banger
episode of flights, for sure. Yeah, for sure. But,
guys, listen, you don't have to take our word for
it. Like we tell you, sometimes go to your brick
and mortar, ask for these cigars, see if they can
get them. If not, look, online, we always start

(28:29):
with brick and mortar. Yeah, but you got to try
these cigars. These cigars are worth trying a
hundred.

>> (28:36):
Percent. Yeah. All of the Mills ds.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:38):
Limited edition. Yeah. I got one for you. It's
gonna cost you, though. Double. Double the price.
Yeah. Because.

>> Announcer (28:45):
They'Re.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:45):
Limited. Yeah. You know, um, but, yeah, so all in
all, I mean, on these top five lists, like, I
think everybody's top five list is pretty good
this year.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (28:57):
You know. Oh.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:57):
Thanks, dad. Yeah.

>> (28:58):
For sure. I was a little shocked you picked the.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (29:01):
Rocky Patel. So that's a funny story. Like, I've
been trying to get in with Rocky Patel at PCA for
the last three, three, four years. And, uh. Uh,
yeah, for sure. And. But nobody ever wants to talk
to me because they're always so busy selling.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Cigars. Right? That's what they're.
There for. That's what they do. No, I.

>> (29:19):
Get it. I mean, you know, they're sales people.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (29:21):
But the. The media guy talked to me this. At this
last. This last time, and give me one of these to
smoke. And it's, uh. It was fantastic. And we'll
talk a little bit more about when we come back
from the break. And welcome back from the break.

(29:42):
Hands on the wheels, folks. Hands on.

>> (29:43):
The wheels.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (29:44):
That's right. I want to take a second. We were
finishing up talking about the Rocky Patel. You're
the snake. Rich made a comment. What did.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: You say? No, I was just saying you. You had said
the, uh. That you kind of prejudged it because it
was, you know, kind.
Of a. No, that.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Was Imami. No, that's the.
Rocky Patel. No.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I didn't. You said you. You didn't want to.

(30:05):
Like it. Oh. Oh, yeah. During the break.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah. Yeah. So you were.
Wrong again. So. Yeah. Let me mark this now. Are
you my wife? This is so weird. My wife tells me
I'm wrong. My wife.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: So listen. No, but I was just saying that, you
know, we were just talking about some of these
maybe big.
Box.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Brand. Yeah. Big, big cigars where they're.

(30:25):
They're coming out.
With, um. They have so many cigars they come.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Out with. Yeah, but they come out with one that,
you know, every now and again.
It's amazing. And it's.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: A banger. We were just talking about, you know,
that they. They kind of have to these days because
they're competing with these, uh, Boutiques that
are coming out with, you know, these really.
Good cigars. Cigars. But the problem is, is just

(30:45):
because it's boutique doesn't mean it's.

>> Announcer (30:47):
Good. Absolutely.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (30:50):
Once again. Yeah, yeah, you could be a boutique
brand and make crap cigars.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (30:55):
Absolutely. 100%. Well, you know, there's a lot to
be said about, you know, these, these pillars of
the cigar community. Right. They, they have a, um,
they have a fan base. Right. And, and so they have
to continue to produce those things that, you
know, and give um, them the foothold that they've
had and established in.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (31:15):
The.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (31:15):
Industry. Yeah. And so from that perspective,
right, like you, you may not have a lot of
opportunity, let alone the resources to do some
like, experimental fun blends. Whereas, you know,
the, the boutique brands are, you know, picking
through, you know, the kind of. Not, not, not to
say like leftover, but, but the bales that do not

(31:36):
fit into those normal big box. Well, if you're
brand profiles.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (31:42):
And so. Yeah. Well, listen, with this best of
season three.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Episode 13. Yeah, we're.
In 13. Did I say what.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I say? You.
Said three. Season three. Yeah, I need to drink
another big machine Spike seltzer there. All
right, so, um, we've covered some of our top five
cigars. We've tried to pick some balance with some

(32:04):
easy to find and le products, hopefully.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Limited edition.
Thank you. Yeah. For those laymans, um, hopefully
you could put some of these in your short list
while browsing Humidor. In the near future, we
also wanted to discuss the state of smoke. So
we're going to wander between cigars, pipe tobacco
and the third rail of thc. We're also going to

(32:27):
drift between issues of regulatory perspective,
consumer and manufacturer. But let's start this,
consumer cigars in general off with the Year of
the 5.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Cigar band. Year of the 5.
Cigar band. I think.

>> (32:43):
It is. I think that needs to start.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (32:46):
Real soon. That's, uh, that's a, uh, that's a good
old Boy Mike custom right there. The Year of the
five.

>> (32:51):
Cigar band. Yeah. Why, you know, why just.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (32:53):
Have three, four, go for five. I don't know why.
Well, they could just be like Matt Booth. Wrap it
in paper and shove a whole tube.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: On it. There.
You go. Works. I love that though. Tobacco, uh, is
still feeling like the long echo of the cigarette
regulations and.

>> (33:09):
Protecting minors. Well, you know, so with, you
know, cigars and consumers, you know, I just, um.
I guess part of what I'm thinking about is that I
just don't really see what I would describe as a
lot of innovation in terms of new products, you
know, that have.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:28):
Been released. I.

>> (33:29):
Just feel. Feel like people are pumping out more
puros from Honduras and from Nicaragua and, um, or
they're working with tobaccos from both of those
countries, you know, um, extensively. Or.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:43):
The doctor. Well, that's where.

>> (33:44):
Tobacco grows. I know, but it's just I keep on
waiting for, wow, something amazing, you know, to
come along that, you know, just looking for just a
shred.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:55):
Of innovation. I'm.

>> (33:56):
Right here. Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:57):
I know. I'm.

>> (33:58):
Right here. I don't know. That's my impression is
that.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:00):
I just. Well, what about that.

>> (34:01):
Recent law? I just feel like everything's on
cruise control. Yeah. Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:06):
Now. Yeah. Well, did you see the recent law that
went into effect.

>> (34:09):
In California?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:11):
I did. The one that lumped premium cigars with
flavored products.

>> Announcer (34:14):
Like.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:14):
Vaping. Yes. Boo Boo. Yeah. Premium cigar trade
groups are still protesting. The biggest point of
impact is the price that they set a floor price of
$12 per cigar in California. I wonder what Kevin
has to say about this, you know, well, uh,

(34:34):
artistic Kevin. Yeah. Which was meant to be, in
effect to turn minors and young adults away from
cigars. Do you think it's turning.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (34:42):
Them away? I think they would have to be turned
towards it first to turn them away.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:47):
I.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (34:47):
Don'T. Yeah. Uh, I don't see the correlation
there. You know, they have a.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Big cigar smoking young people in California. I
mean, I don't see.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:57):
It here. I think if anything, it's gonna be THC
products and flavored e vapes big time. Because
that's what they can get away with, like cheaper.
And they're cheaper. Yeah. For 25 bucks, you can
buy a vape that'll last you.

>> (35:13):
500 puffs. You know, I really put it in your
pocket about the fact that that becomes a model
law for other states to pick up. And because the
way the state legislatures are lobbied by common
trade groups is that they use the same legislative
language, uh, from one jurisdiction to another.

(35:33):
And that one was written so poorly and so broad,
and I just don't feel like it is going to be as
effective as they wanted it.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (35:44):
To.

>> (35:44):
Be.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (35:45):
Oh. And. Well, by the end of the year, California
will have fallen into the ocean and we won't have
to worry about their.

>> (35:52):
Regulations anymore. Look forward.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: To that. So that's with the number of people
leaving.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (35:56):
The state. Yeah, they're all.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (35:57):
Coming here. Well, I just wonder if these
lawmakers have, uh, like this epidemic of their
kids raiding.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Their.
Humidor. No. You know, money.

>> (36:07):
And lobbyists.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:10):
$12 stick. Yeah. Well, that brings us around to
the third rail of thc. That's the chemical in
marijuana and is now infused into a number of
things like candy, potato chips. Potato chips
every drinks. Yeah, yeah, we eat.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (36:25):
Potato chips.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:25):
Oh, dude. However you.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (36:26):
Want it.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:27):
The Cheetos. Oh yeah, Cheetahs. I love them all.
Uh, right, Specifically. Specifically, yeah, yeah.
The Canagars, Canada Guards. Curious if you've
ever.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Had one.

>> (36:40):
What's Canada? Uh, oh, it's a.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (36:42):
Cannabis cigar. Yeah. Really?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:45):
That's.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Right. Yeah. Is this like the white owl.

>> (36:48):
That you. It's a blend of tobacco and.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:51):
Cannabis, yes. Well, we called them spliffs back
in.

>> (36:54):
The.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:54):
Day. Okay. And that's what we would do. You know,
not that I would ever condone that, but you know,
by the royal, we would do those. One major
production issue is that nearly all these products
are being hand rolled since that usually adds too
much moisture for the common automated cigar
roller to work with these enhanced cigars. Are

(37:16):
these the sticks of our near future? No, I don't
think so either. I think they need to keep those
regulations so far away from cigar regulations. I
think they're crossing the streams. Uh, yeah,
it's, it's a lobbyist. And those lobbyists need
to, to be careful because they are definitely
treading waters where they don't need to, to.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (37:36):
Be swimming. Well, any, any uh, you know,
marijuana purists, I think there's a, uh, the
ritual that goes along with handling those things
yourself. Right. Uh, should be.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:47):
Left alone. Sure. Those left handed cigars. That's
right. That's right. Well, the jazz, whether you
smoke the left handed cigars or the right handed
cigars, we're here.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (37:58):
For.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:58):
You. Yeah. And just remember, you've always got a
friend in us. Uh, call us, write us, tell us about
your everything. But that's it for smokes episode
season 13. A lot of cool things. I'd like to thank
good old boy Rich for.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Being here. All right, man. Don't just, just don't
take our word for all of these things. Go out and
try it yourself. Let us know what.
You think. Yeah. Good old.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (38:18):
Boy Benjamin. Is it season 3.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (38:20):
Or 13? Uh, it's, it's 1 3. I just read the three
too many figures.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: For it.
It's 1.3. That's right. That's right. Now good,
uh, old boy.

>> (38:28):
Mike, you know, I am so looking forward to the
things that we have for planned for season 14.
Great. You know, great year in and.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (38:36):
Of itself. But Mike, the mute button, we went over
this 10.

>> (38:40):
Minutes ago. I'm going to ask you to come back,
enjoy another exciting episode and to keep.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (38:46):
On sipping. All right guys, and this is me telling
you to keep on smoking no matter what it is. If
you catch me on the streets, we'll smoke a left
handed.
