Minda Dentler was born in India and, because she wasn't vaccinated, she ended up paralyzed below the hips. She was adopted at the age of three by a family from Spokane, Washington and had never been an athlete because her legs were in braces and she used crutches to get around. Who knew that in 2013 this 'non-athlete' would become the first and only woman to finish the Ironman World championship using a handcycle and racing chair in the 39 year history of the event?
