Many of us know these kids… Their focus changes on a whim; they are unable to finish tasks; they’re the one who can’t keep their butt in a chair even if you used SuperGlue. Dr. Faye Dixon, ADHD specialist at the MIND Institute, joins us in studio to discuss the effects Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder has on children in the classroom. We also highlight the upcoming “School strategies for children with ADHD and ASD” as part of the MINDS Behind the Mind lecture series. AND The Gold Country Wildlife Rescue center works with a volunteer staff to rescue and rehabilitate over 3500 wild animals in need of assistance each year with no cost to the public. GCWR Volunteer Coordinator Dina Fiala joins us in studio to discuss the upcoming volunteer training programs that will encompass everything from greeting guests and computer data entry to driving injured animals and actually handling them.
