How You Can Enjoy Comic-Con, But for Free

San Diego Comic-Con International is in full-swing, but if you don't have a badge, you have options. KOGO's Laura Cain reports live from the Convention Center.

It is day two of Comic Con, and while there
are more than one hundred and thirty thousand people with
badges that get them into the convention center, there are
a lot of attractions in the gas Lamp Quarter and
they are absolutely free.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Coco's Laura Kane found plenty of no money required Comic
Con fun that's open to everyone.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Your first stop Petco Park's massive interaction zone packed with
hands on experiences, giant photo ops, giveaways, gaming collectibles. Jacqueline Lash,
president of Finest Collective and spokesperson for the Padre, says
it's super easy to access.

Don't have a ticket, You can come right it, enter
up a park boulevard, you know all kinds of things.
You don't need a badge, you don't need a ticket,
you don't need anything. You just need yourself. And it's
free and open to the pop up.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Okay, but if I wanted to buy something to us,
could I?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Yes, there's so much stuff to buy in here, including
there's a whole pop up shop for needos. So if
you love the squishies and all of that crazy us,
we have that here also.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Or how about the Hello Kitty Cafe truck, the Magic
the gathering Marvel experience including lessons and tournaments, no badge required.
Just steps away, Bayfront Park transforms into adult Swim on
the Green, where fans can enjoy carnival style games, rides,
themed experiences, and nightly entertainment. And then you can head
over to Disney's Percy Jackson Adventure, snap a selfie with

Spider Man, browse incredible artwork at the free Comic Con
art show, or just people watch along Harbor Drive and
the gaslamp quarter. Lash says, this is Petco's way and
other businesses in San Diego to let everybody have some fun.

So way for people to be able to come in
and experience Comicon without a Comic Con badge, but still
see the magic that's happening here in San Diego.

We've been doing this for over ten years and it
keeps growing every year, and it's really great for the
city and we're happy to be a part of it.
