Speaker 3 (00:36):
So you've made it through three hours of the regular
show on terrestrial radio, and you wanted a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
So that's why you found the gun.
Speaker 5 (00:42):
Talk After Show podcast where we saved all the best
things that we can't say on regular radio. Now, here's Tom,
Michelle and Jim for the gun Talk after Show.
Speaker 6 (00:53):
It's time for the after show where we gathered to
chat about this and that, the things that it's kind
of here. We really like leftover. Maybe the after show
is just leftover, pretty far leftover.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
Stew there's a marketing I like it.
Speaker 6 (01:07):
Yeah, Okay, we got Jim Kinsey and we got Tom
handed here. Anyway, man, what is the great show fin
show today? Yeah, it's a fine show today. A lot
of good interviews a lot of things going on, and
obviously you got the news about what happened at DC,
and we're getting more information about that. But now we're
in the trickle stage. It's just gonna eke out. We'll
get a little bit, a little bit and then maybe
(01:29):
maybe we'll find out. I mean sometimes we haven't found
out much about the shooters or the assassins. Anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yeah, it seems months later something trickles out maybe, yeah, exactly. Well,
you know what it is a short attention span theater
number one. Yeah, and it's the constance and immediate gratification
and news cycles and they play off it.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
Well, yeah, it's like, okay, after thirty six hours, you know,
maybe forty eight hours, it's like we're moving on to
something else now. Yep, I get it. All right, Well,
let's go grab this because I am really happy about
getting this call. Craig is called in from Houston, and Craig,
I remember our conversations very well in Houston. How are you, sir?
Speaker 7 (02:09):
I am great, sir, Thank you for taking my call.
I just wanted to call and give you a little
little feedback on the outcome of our circumstance and more
important to Tom, I wanted to express my gratitude to the
two A community.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
All right, So Craig comes up to me, he says, hey,
and your son was there, he says, my daughter nursing student.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
Right, yeah, she's a gradualy nursing student here coming up
in May at Corby Chirsty at A and M. They've
been given an assignment that's called transportation Day. So there's
a little contact on that. They're supposed to take public
transportation right Corpus Christy, get off at four different stops,
multiple stops, so this is kind of a I tell him,
(02:53):
you described it perfect as the poverty to work. And
the whole idea is that they're going to go to
the County Health Board of the new Aces County Health Board.
They've got to go to a public library, at grocery store,
a faith based organization. It's kind of like a kid
shelter or things like that. They're going to get off
the bus, go interview some of the folks in there
talking about how they interacting with the community health and
(03:18):
then they get back on the bus. They do this.
So this is the expectation of this is about five
to six hour assignment and that's all good up until
the fact that last February, in the beginning of February,
they split these the students up into what they call rotations.
And those rotations the first one in February on the project,
it got off a bus, were waiting for another bus.
(03:40):
The bus never came, so they, of course, as students,
didn't have a contingency plan, so they looked up online
real quick. Well the next bus station, it's not too
far away. Of course, they just started walking, so they
encountered a threat. A gentleman gets out of them van,
chasing them, running after what's cell phone. The van continues
(04:02):
to drive next to them. You know, the students seek
shelter and a little bit this.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Yeah, a bunch of young women here, bunch of young here.
Speaker 7 (04:09):
Predominantly female. Yeah, all female that in that rotation, right,
so yeah, twenty something year olds. Uh, police are called
and ultimately the faculty comes to getting to give them
safe transportation back to the university. They kept getting to
multiple emails. You know, I will call it the professional
brush off. Ultimately it's kind of more of a middle finger,
but either way, no response. All I kept getting was
(04:32):
you know, how we keep our students safe. But surprisingly
no changes in the safety protocol.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
Okay, and then and then you were going to I
guess did they call your daughter in for a meeting
if I remember.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
Correctly as we were speaking, Yes, sir, while we were
at the NA Animal meeting speaking with you, they actually
had three faculty members come up to her or come
to her clinical she was at a school, she was
doing a school nursing clinical and come and spend an
hour talking to her. What I didn't find out that
(05:04):
was that until afterwards, was that, uh, they made her
place her cell phone on the table for full transparency.
So it was kind of a bullying session as you'd expect.
That wasn't the wouldn't fall into what I call it.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
You had brought up, Yeah, you had brought up the
issue of safety on this, and they're basically trying to
get her to pull away and say that knock it off,
don't do this anymore, don't don't don't question what we're doing.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
Right.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
So our requests were very simple, you know, could we
do this other public transportation, how about a you know
what the university ban? Could we achieve the same coals
of this side? But more importantly was you know, my
daughter asked, can I carry my firearm or can I
carry pepper spray? And that was another question that we
asked the university was is it okay for the gear?
You know the students se carry personal safety gear? Could
(05:54):
you know, in an addition, could we hire you know,
often share deputy, a third party and any abomb So
our conversation was, is there somebody in that corporse area
that'll be will to ride with us or join that
just be another another male presence, you know, along for
the ride. So uh, you had posted on x We'll
(06:16):
got some great responses from that, but he also also
reached out and introduced me to Ken Cambell from Gunsign.
So Ken was so kind to post it on Monday.
He put it out, generated a lot of response, and
ultimately we got a law enforcement office here from Porpose
that reached out to us and said, I have the
day off our Friday. My wife and I saw this.
(06:37):
We think it's important enough, I'd like to volunteer to
come along. So we had Yeah, we had a third
not only a third, we had We'll call him Chuck
to protect his identity, but Chuck wrote along. We got
to know each other over the week because it's like,
you know, this is one of those where, wow, this
is a kind of precarious situation. We developed a kind
(06:59):
of strategy ultimately said look, if you've got access to
your off duty or your undercover car, just f on
the bus. So he was always there. He was loitering,
hanging around, you know, pretty identifiable vehicle, right, but he
followed the bus, which was incredible. So everywhere we stopped,
(07:21):
he was there. He was in the parking lot, he
was next to us. So it worked out extremely well
in that regard. My son and I sat like two
angry men at the back of the bush, just you know,
eyeballowing anybody that. So we uh, everything went very well.
Uh And I was glad we went because the one
(07:44):
is seeing firsthand and you're thinking to yourself, the worst
is it bad?
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (07:50):
There were two scenarios that played out that I thought,
you know this, I'm extremely pleased to be here. One
was the transfer stations. As the students get off of us,
You're hanging out on this deck of Trent for fifteen
to twenty minutes waiting for the next bus. Yeah, you're target,
We're there. A guy gets off, comes off stops looks
(08:13):
at all these girls and stops and stairs and then
almost motions towards getting back on the bus, like hey,
wait a minute, this is something I know, this is interesting.
Of course my son and are just staring at him.
So he ultimately moved on. But you had a couple
of the guys that were just called a trolling. They
were just moving around looking, you know, around the transfer station.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
Yeah, they're predators.
Speaker 7 (08:37):
Having that presence pushed off a lot of folks. But yeah,
well I.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
Am, I'm really glad. I mean it just happened with
you and I were standing there talking and you're over
about the Gun Talk booth and King Cambell from Gunsite,
he's the CEO gun Site, comes by and said again
I grabbed me. You talked to Craig. He's got a
situation he needs some help in corpus since like, okay,
I haven't to step out of the way, and you
just went from there is great.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
Yeah, it was again the tension that we got from folks.
So more aside from that, I listened to you on
nine twenty Talk Gradio or Patriot Talk here in Houston.
The owner of that Matt Velosts, you know, introduced me
to a group called the Armed Attorneys, who I've never seen.
Their local here in Houston predominantly self defense. They do
(09:26):
a He's like, hey, if you're seeing their YouTube, and
I'm like no. One of the attorneys reached out. We said,
o opinian help with this, you let me know. So
we ended up connecting on Monday. They took a hold
and a partial interest in this, like I've never seen.
They went after him. By Tuesday afternoon, we had a
letter that essentially told them that you know, your sovereign
(09:48):
immunity is gone as an organization, that you're you know,
any teacher or professor that's involved in this, because you've
had already a threat in the safety violation or the
safety threat during the assignment previously. You know it's a
dangerous activity and you're.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
Putting it back out of the dangers at you. So
now you don't have your legal protection.
Speaker 7 (10:12):
I like, you just lost your legal protection. And I
mean they covered everything, uh surprisingly a and m ignored
that as well.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Well. Yeah now yeah, yeah for that exactly. Greg. I
am really appreciate the follow up. I'm glad we were
able to connect you with some good people, but all
that goes to say that there are a lot of
good people who will step up and help if they
know that somebody needs help.
Speaker 7 (10:40):
Yes, I think I was talking to a friend of mine.
I told me, so, you know what, I understand now
why liberals are so so I'm happy half the time.
It's not part of a Second Amendment community.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
That's it.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
Well, and we talked about that, NRA. It's like, you know,
everybody walked around there by half the people are carrying guns.
I mean, I'm interviewing the Acting Attorney General of the
United States and he's surrounded by FBI agents and I'm
standing there. I don't know if they knew or not,
but I mean, I've carried a gun while I'm interviewing
the Acting Attorney Generals Like, yeah, but so it's half
(11:16):
a third or half the people in the halls. It
was all good, Craig, I got scwed here. I appreciate
the follow up. Please say hello to your son, and
thank you for letting us know how it worked out. Man.
Speaker 7 (11:26):
I appreciate everything you did for song. Thank you, sir.
Speaker 6 (11:29):
You bet take care.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Well.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
That was a heck of a story, wasn't they guys?
Thank you? Well, yeah, he just kind of came up
to me and says, let me tell you a story.
I mean, he's a longtime listener. And he starts telling me.
I said, you know, let's see if we can't get
some volunteers. I mean, of course, my first thought was
we need people who are trained X cops or cops
or maybe guns like graduates and all, of course a
lot of guns that graduates are in fact cops or
(11:51):
X cops. And then I connected him with Ken and
then he put out the word and it's like, okay,
we got this taken care of. I just at that
point I knew it wasn't a problem.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
I would love to hear like a Wayne Black's take
on that. Yeah, from his perspective, you know.
Speaker 6 (12:04):
Yeah, from security for protecting your protectee and all that,
but honestly just being there so that it's obvious that
there are guys there who are with those young women.
It's like, okay, I described it, says, look, when these
young women get off the bus in a bad part
of town, it's like a whole bunch of ice cream cones.
(12:27):
Pop it off and everybody's going, oh wow, yummy. It's like,
you know, it's like, holy what are you.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Thinking, Yeah, I just don't understand that. I'm sure they
can't carry on campus, right, No, they cannot. They can't
carry to and from their assignment. I mean if they're.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
Well, that's the gray areas, like, okay, we're not at
the university, even though it's the university activity function, right
And you know, of course, I am of the attitude
of don't ask if you don't want to know. Why
Why in the world would you ask in the first place? Right, Yeah,
because worse they tell you no, Now, you could be
a problem. But if you don't ask or just carry
(13:05):
number one, they'll probably never know. And if they do,
thes because you need it and we'll worry about the
other consequences later.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Yep, yep, I'll see that.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
All right. Hey, let's take a quick break. We'll come
back and talk guns and stuff.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
I would be different.
Speaker 3 (13:22):

Speaker 6 (13:58):
All right, we are back after seeing the blessing from
Tom over. What was that anyway?
Speaker 8 (14:02):
By the way, the father Guido, Oh, I love it.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
That's a way back, way back. He was great, funny stuff.
We're doing silly stuff during the break. That was a surprise,
right us. Shocking he speaking of silly. I've got a
feudal venture I'm about to undertake. It should be good.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
At my local bank insert name here, they have a
sign on the door that says firearms are not permitted
here by federal law.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
Well, no, yeah, it does not permitted here by federal law.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
I think they're trying to play off their connection to
the fd I see.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
But that which is it is.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
So I'm going to go there and photograph it and
go through the steps of reaching out to whoever their
attorneys or PR people are or whatever, and say, I
realize you're not going to take down the size of morons,
but could at least state the truth, say it's our policy,
we don't want guns anything.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
Can I make a suggestion that you go a different way?
Speaker 5 (15:04):
No, Tom, I'm always right in everything. I do this,
We're gonna save me a lot of time. Yeah, what's up,
what's up? Talk to me, Talk to me.
Speaker 6 (15:14):
I would reach out to Buckeye Firearms, Oh, because they're
going to want to take that on, because these guys
have branches and everything else, and they're gonna want to
go in there and say no, no, no, no, no no no.
I mean I would. I would turn the group because
they're pretty effective.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yeah. I like the idea because and you know, they're
not going to take the signs down. They're gonna have
to be forced to get the signs. But no, no,
they will.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
They will take the sign those signs down. They may
put up something else.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Well that's what I'm saying. But they're gonna have to
tell the truth, and they're in their news signage.
Speaker 6 (15:41):
Well here's the question. And I don't without looking it up,
I don't know. And some states pretty up, a no
gun sign has absolutely no weight in Ohio.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Does if a bank puts up that sign that you
are breaking law by going in?
Speaker 6 (15:54):
But a banker is that anybody puts up a sign.
Speaker 8 (15:57):
I think it's anybody, is it. I don't think like
if a bar puts up a sign and you carry
in there anyway you can be liable.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
Well, let's go to the bar and find out there's
some of them around here.
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Yea, that's right right now, bro Hio.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
No, I know it is for banks and obviously post
office of that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
But I thought the signers didn't hold weight. If it's
you know, the Mom and Pops shoe store.
Speaker 8 (16:25):
My painting doesn't. Well it depends on the branch or
is it a usually go to has no sign? Right
the one downtown has a sign in Ohio?
Speaker 6 (16:35):
Do no gun signs have the force of law? The
answer is yes. So if they put up all locations anywhere,
well that's no funing yep.
Speaker 8 (16:47):
So I just put one up in the front of
my house and I'm okay, there you go.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
So if Mom and Pops guns shoeter puts up a
no gun sign, all right, and for some reason you
do are you is it a trespassing charge or is
that a firearms.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
You know, it's a violation of the law, not trespass. Okay, yep.
And according to change that law dot us.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
You got to change that yeah, yep.
Speaker 6 (17:13):
And there I mean once again talk to buck Eye firearms.
But that being the case. Okay, since this is the case,
the bank may or may not change the sign, but
it's not going to have any different make any difference
in terms of what's happening, because they can prohibit. Yeah,
your point.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
My feudal part of it is that they're passing it
off on the FED law. There is no Fed law.
Speaker 6 (17:36):
No, there's not. But all they have to do is
put no gun sign up in their covered anyway, So it's.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
Just a chance to be a thorn in their side.
Speaker 8 (17:44):
Time mean, I suggest you close your accounts there first
before you do.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
You really have experienced that annoying people, right.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
Oh yeah, I'm a tenured Actually, okay, there you go.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Almost eleven you beat me to it.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
It was bad, but we were going there anyway. Sure,
here you go.
Speaker 8 (18:07):
Just like my practicing drawing my pistol.
Speaker 6 (18:09):
Oh that was a great I was talking about drawing him.
You got to really practice you're drawing your pistol. So
Tom sends me a text in the middle of the show,
what are you supposed to be working? By the way, Well,
it's got a sketch pad with a drawing of a pistol.
He says, Yeah, I'm drawing my pistol.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
That's the hennig nine milimeter, isn't.
Speaker 8 (18:28):
It it is?
Speaker 6 (18:30):
Yeah, it's actually a zero point seven. Oh oh, I
forgot to put this out on the air. But you're
familiar with the seven militer Backcountry cartridge one that has
the eighty thousand PSI and all of that. Federal has
been putting out uh posters, ads, mailings, whatever, saying, uh,
(18:53):
something new is coming, something new is coming, you know
what's going on? What's going on? Said, well, we're releasing
it on on June the fifth. Oh, you're releasing it
on six five. Oh, I get it.
Speaker 5 (19:12):
It's all starting to make sense.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
It's always gonna be. I'm sure it's gonna be some
kind of sixty five back country be my guests. No,
they're not talking. They haven't told me. I don't have
an NDA, so it's like, so I'm making all this
up as I always do. But but yeah, when and
all they would say is it's coming out on June
the fifth, and go, yeah, but what is it? And
they would say it's June the fifth. It's like hello,
(19:42):
so that'll be happening.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Now if they've got a six five that's cranking out
eighty thousand PSI.
Speaker 6 (19:48):
Yeah, you got to pick up another two hundred plus
feet per second out of it.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Right, But aren't you going to destroy any existing six
fives you have that weren't built to take that kind
of pressure.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
Well, it's a six' five, caliber but it's not necessarily
a six five creed more cartridge. Cartridge, okay so it
may it probably has a different cartridge, shape so that. Thing, Okay,
YES i was almost certain about. That, yeah which brings
us to an interesting. QUESTION i was talking to somebody
about this AT nra and he, said, YEAH i think
(20:20):
you're right with these cartridges where you can get the
same velocity out of a shorter, barrel you can get
more velost out of a standard, barrel but you can
shorten your barrel good bit and get the same, velocity
and combine that with no tax on. SUPPRESSORS i think
we're going into a new era of what rifles look.
(20:42):
Like and you, know in twenty thirty, years we'll look
back on hunting rifles to have twenty four and twenty six,
barrels and we will look at those like there are
a blunderbus or.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Something, right be running a fourteen with a six inches. Suppressor, yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
Exactly you do a twelve fourteen inch barrel with a
six inch. Suppressor now you're back to the original length
of the barrel and you've got all the features that you're.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Looking, for and you're not that nose heavy because the
nose isn't out there as far, right you, know, leverage.
Speaker 6 (21:13):
You know, exactly and you know you got these lightweight titanium. Cans.
Right it doesn't put a whole lot out, there.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Yep and then the less you put it out there the.
Better it's kind of like my personal. Life there's that.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
Was it just because you're thinking that doesn't mean you
have to post. It let's see you doned. It, well
pictures it didn't. Happen there's that, too exactly. Right did
you notice that the video of the attack last, night
you see all these people holding their phones. UP i
mean there's secret, servers they're pointing guns, everywhere and these
dupes are standing around pointing their. Cameras it's like they
(21:49):
don't even understand it's real because they live in this
fantasy world where everything is you, know to be.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Videoed, yeah but the new iPhone seventeen's they have full body,
armor don't they they protect you while you're.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Shooting And i'll tell. You but we're a, journalist you. Know,
yeah well guess what journalists can get, dead just just
like anybody.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
Else a ventilated. Journalist of, COURSE i did like.
Speaker 6 (22:09):
It Jackie heinrich over At, fox she was talking, About,
Yeah i'm on my hands and, knees crawling underneath the
table in my evening. DRESS i, think smart, girl there you,
go that's making. Sense Harmiat dilon posted that she had
a cut and a bruise on her head from going
underneath the. Table i'm, thinking, Well i'm guessing that one
(22:29):
of our security agents shoved her down, there probably Her. John,
yeah because she's got martial service people around.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
HER i love her met she she broke my heart
though today. Time, oh she slipped in a conversation that
she and her, Husband oh, GOD i.
Speaker 6 (22:46):
Just you, Know, Jim i've never known that to slow you. Down.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
Though, well plus they're From, california they don't shoot a.
Lot i'd have a chance she's shooting out.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
Shooting, well, yeah she, says you got her glocks plural
where she says she can't take back To california. Now
so but, yeah she'shooting at THE fbi range and, going,
yeah this is gonna. Work you're gonna tune that one.
Up so she runs like ten miles a, day and
she's always posting pictures of the knit caps that she
(23:18):
is crocheting for. People she does that all the. Time,
yeah she would just sue you into. Oblivion you know
she she is a tough.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
Lady.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
Yees, yeah it was a fun. Interviewers she was a
very different demeanor than the first TIME i.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
Interviewer did you ask about?
Speaker 6 (23:37):
Me strangely?
Speaker 8 (23:39):
Enough, no where CAN i put my order in for
a knit? Holster there you.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
Go, Yes i'm not even gonna say that BECAUSE i
was GONNA i was actually gonna name a brand of.
Hulster that's so bad it's like a, nope, nope nope.
No but those flopping eyeline holsters are pretty close to A,
ye you're pretty. Lousy so, well you.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Can get A kaidex holster and just Have grandma wrap. It,

mag underneath.
Speaker 6 (25:18):

Holster it's kind of keeps pulling your pants down and
finding the right holster for. It fifty, rounds the forty.
Five you know that's. Heavy it is interesting how much
heavier the forty five AM o is a case of
that versus. Nine, yeah it is real. NOTICEABLE i bet
