Even though I did hang out last night with Cavino

my twenties, Chris, you know when I used to be

(01:36):
a sports writer, traveling around and going to bed in
different hotels all the time. After a couple of nightcaps,
a couple of drinks. But feeling good, feeling good. It
was a great week.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
You sound much better.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
I mean, yesterday you sounded so bad. I was like, Man,
his takes aren't the only thing this.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Oh wow, thank you, Alex? What Alex? Don't it was funny?

Speaker 6 (01:59):
What was not bad?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
It was funny? I'll take you good? A million points?
How many, Elijah? One point three million?

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Is that like the only time you've ever hit a million?
Because you're not talking about that.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
I mean, no, no, no, The last ones have been good,
been over a million.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
It's been good for show. Come on, that's good. It's
not just me. You're on those two Chris.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You know, don't Yeah, why you say it like it's
just you.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I didn't say that, you did?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
You told me last time you said it. My take
of Damn Campbell got a million views?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, but you're on it.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
You're just not you know, you're just not adding the
I'm just bringing logic.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
You're just doing nothing, just bringing the truth. Is that it?

Speaker 7 (02:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I mean stopped damn all right? We got Miles Garrett,
Denzel Ward coming up. At the bottom of the hour.
There a couple of crews in full effect. DJ Alex
Tightsher aka Alex A Vegan.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Where are you at? I'm in the crag that's right.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
As a funky flashback Friday, the super producer robed gen.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
And wait a minute, Rob anything is Chris trying to
get big brownie points with his wife?

Speaker 8 (03:04):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (03:04):
What did you buy her canoles?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
I walked all the way from the Mandalay Bay to
the Venetian Hotel with then have been in Vegas. That's
like a Dutch mile walk to get her some canole's
that she asked for brownie.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
Points for me.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yes, you couldn't get them anywhere else.

Speaker 9 (03:19):
Nope, that's one specific So it's one places.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
That's what you do when you're away for a week your.

Speaker 9 (03:25):
Wife, Chris, are you flying her first class?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I get her way more than Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Right, look at that.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
You better ad some more.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
You better asks you don't that bad.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Admitted on national radio that you flew your your beautiful
wife and daughter to Egypt.

Speaker 9 (03:43):
Coach, Oach, that's why you don't get to say anything.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Last tickets.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah, shoot, you like fly first class when the company pays,
Like Rob said, when the company pays, I fly first
But who we got on the updates?

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Our man?

Speaker 10 (04:08):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Steve de Seger, Yes, it is Steve, Elijah Sebuna and
soccer Pertel. All right, Rob, let's this is the time,
the moment of truth. So uh, let's make our picks
for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Who you got?

Speaker 5 (04:23):
I'm going with the San Francisco forty nine ers. San
Francisco was supposed to be there all year. We know
christ they had the little slump in the middle of
the season. They lost a couple of games. But this
is the path that they were supposed to be. It
doesn't matter how you get there. The bumps. I look
at that as a part of the journey. It hasn't

(04:45):
been a pretty postseason. Got run over by the Packers.
Could have easily lost that game. If the Packers kick
him Chris made a field goal, they could have lost.
They could be out. But it didn't happen. They were
down twenty four to seven at the half. People in Detroit,
We're flooding the call centers of all the airlines, Chris hotels.

(05:07):
Everybody thought in Detroit they were going to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
And they didn't fold. They didn't panic.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
That stadium was you could hear a mouse urinate on
cotton in Santa Claara, Okay, but they didn't fold.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
I think there's something about that.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
And I'm not here to trash Kansas City because this
is an improbable run for them, Chris. Their defense way
better than we ever could have imagined the best during
the Patrick Mahomes run. What scares me about Kansas City
is the offense and the weapons and will they revert
to the offense that was sketchy, that struggled in fourth quarters,

(05:49):
Like that's what, Like does that offense show up in
the biggest game of the year, Because that's really if
I were to pick the offense the last couple of weeks,
Chris playoffs of the offense the whole seventeen games, the
whole seventeen games being flaky. Is the real Chiefs offense,
not just what happened in the last two weeks and

(06:11):
which one shows up. So I'm gonna go with the
San Francisco forty nine ers. I think they win this
one by ten points. It's a seven.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Point game until late. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 9 (06:24):
Chris got a.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Blowout fairly comfortably.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, but if you add a field goal at the
end to make it.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
I picked when when the Colts beat New Orleans and
the Super Bowl, Chris, I picked the Colts.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Oh the other way around.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
I'm sorry when when the New Orleans beat the Colts,
I picked them by two touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
I remember Skip Bayley's looking at me like I was crazy.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
We're doing first take, and guess what in that game,
Remember the Saints will win in by seven, and then
a pick six by Peyton Manning at the end made
it a fourteen point spread. So I see something like
that at seven point game, Chris, and then Kansas, I mean,
and then the forty nine to seal.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
It would a field goal late to make it a
ten point game.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Believe it or not, Rob Parker, I'm also picking the
ninth What I'm.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Doing a Danny Thomas spittake.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I am also picking the Niners.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Look, I think on paper, there are a heck of
a lot of reasons to go with the Chiefs, right,
They've got the experience, obviously, they've got the top coach,
they've got the best quarterback in the world, their defense
at this point is better than San Francisco's, and they've

(07:42):
looked better in the playoffs. But for the entire season, Rob,
I agree with you, the Niners have been the better
team the entire season. Now, maybe that'll turn out to
not mean anything because, like we said, the Chiefs have
looked better in the playoffs, no doubt, but then had
the better season. And Rob, if we were making if

(08:03):
this game were being picked five weeks ago, everybody would
be picking the Niners and so, and I agree with
you on like remember when they were routing everybody, they
were even saying, we need a little adversity, we need
to show it wasn't too he was one. They wanted

(08:25):
to see what he could do in those moments. But yeah,
everybody as a team because Shanahan was oh and thirty
in those instances or oh in thirty one whatever. It
was trailing in the fourth quarter, so they did need
even though it wasn't pretty, even though it was dangerous.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I know they didn't do it on purpose, No, but.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
They needed to prove that they had that medal to
where it all everything looks bleak and they could pull
it out.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
And I also think Rob there are some football reasons.

Speaker 11 (08:57):
Now.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I know there's a lot for the in.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
The Chiefs favor too, but look the Chiefs they blitz
a ton with Steve smack Nolan. Now he's a great
defensive coordinator, he can switch things up, but he is
blitz happy. Guess who's the best quarterback in the league
against the blitz pro party number one?

Speaker 1 (09:18):
He might.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Well if they blitz him, though, I think he can
make them pay. Yeah, you're talking about absolutely.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Yeah, then he might have to doll it back because
you don't want to be giving up big play, big
note play.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Because with those guys that can run after the catch.
So there's that. Also, the Chiefs like to play man coverage.
They played almost as much as any team as far
as the defensive backfield, and the Niners feast on man cover.
But you get shouldn't surprise you, George Kittle, Deebo, Samuel Brandon,
Christian mccafvery yeah, So they feast on man coverage. Now

(09:53):
they they can play zone two. They played some zone
against Miami. But I'm just saying some of.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
The things that the Chiefs love to do.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
The Niners can counter offensively and rob the Chiefs weakness
on defense or the weakest part of their defense, because
the defense really good is against the run. And we
saw Buffalo run for almost two hundred yards on them
in fifteen of their twenty games. They gave up more
than one hundred yards rushing and happens the best running

(10:23):
back in the league.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
So they'll be setting to that.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
I think that's the key run. I mean, at least
offensively for the Niners. I think if they can establish
the run, then I think they can make it a
long night for the Chiefs. And look, again, I don't
know what in the world was going on. Baltimore never
even tried that.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
No, they who they were, and they didn't run the
ball against a team that's susceptible to the run.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
None of it makes sense.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
That's where all the rob G conspiracy theorists are like,
this is not real, this is the WWE. This is
because why would they not run a football hall.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
No, it was strange, right, and not only was it
their strength, it was the opponent's weakness.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
And so look I get Rob.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
You and I are the only two I've seen about
eight guys I guess on TV today making predictions. You
and I are the only two I've seen. It will
including us, maybe ten, but include you and I are
the only ones I've seen.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Pick the Niners really because I.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Think they're I mean, mahomes Is, you know I love
mahomes He's obviously better than Brock Perty, But this is
a team.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
It's a team game, and we know.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
How stacked the Niners are, and I think Perty can
be good enough, and actually more than good enough. I
think he can play well and they can pull it out.
And Ralph, how many times I think that would be
an upset? I know their favorite. But like I just said,
everybody seems to be picking the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
The Chiefs Shaw safe pick and I get it, Yeah, Chris,
They've been in the Super Bowl all this time. They
have the experience, and they got Hall of famers and
potential and future Hall of famers, and they have the
coach and all the other stuff that goes with it.
But we we've been coming sports too long. What looks
obvious all the time just isn't It Just is.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Especially in the Super Bowl nobody would have picked the
Giants over the eight in and pap not nobody, zero
no zero, Nick Foles beating Tom Brady. Heck, tom Brady,
tom Brady for five hundred yards, Chris right, and they
lost four hundred, five hundred, five hundred. If would have
said tom Brady's gonna go for five hundred yards and

(12:38):
Super Bowl and lose, you would be like, yeah, ain't
no way.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
To a backup?

Speaker 9 (12:42):
Backup.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Jeff Hostetler won it as a backup, be one of
those great Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Teams for the Giants.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
But I mean even Tom Brady Rod when he was
a nobody in his first year as a starter, he
beats the greatest show on turf.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yep. That team was held to what thirteen points or whatever?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
It was something like that.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
So yeah, I mean, strange things happen in these Super Bowls,
and we agree on this one.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
So let's start out.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
To know that we're not there.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
I mean, I can't wait to hear the listeners because
I'm sure they're not with us.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Nah, I mean, have you seen many people?

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Not from what I've seen, Rob g you you scoured
at all the social media stuff?

Speaker 3 (13:19):
What are you saying guy, it's not even just the
analyst and the experts. The Athletics surveyed anonymous coaches like
they do every week, unanimously picking the Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
I mean, look, there's a mistique about him, and if
they win this game, it's gonna be a mistake about
them all next year.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
You know, they don't win this game, it's gonna be
interesting too to see where the Chiefs fall in. What
about Kelsey? What about uh read you know what I mean, Chris?
And then the financial picture of the Chiefs. Do you
start letting people go?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Jones might be going, Jones.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
You best defenders are free agency and Rob And we've said, look,
if I'm Jones, I'm getting exactly how super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
I don't care about nothing. Absolutely, get your.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Money, Tamer already, Like, man, go get your money for sure,
because you're gonna be young when you retire, So get
that Money's.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Got to serve you the rest of your life, all right?

Speaker 4 (14:15):
A seven seven ninety nine on Fox you turned the
way in Rob and I are picking the Niners?

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Are we crazy? Who you picking? That's next? A couple

And what even though they are favorites, I think what
will be a shocker?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Where where you guys at?

Speaker 5 (15:58):
All right, Chris, let's kick it off with Dan in Washington.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (16:04):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (16:04):
Dan?

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Hey?

Speaker 13 (16:06):
Thank you gentlemen, love you both. Listen all the time.
You guys are amazing, Thank.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
You, Thank you, Buddy.

Speaker 13 (16:14):
I just I'm curious as too, you know, because you
guys are just spoken about. You guys are taking the
Niners in. Honestly, I'm on I'm in camp Niners. But
how all of the coaches, polls and everything has everybody
taking k C. If you turn these two teams, you
take away the names, and if your teammate versus Team B.

(16:34):
You look at the season, why would the forty nine
ers not be a hand down favorite?

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Because because of the forty nine ers and uh and
and their coach, right, they haven't been able to win.
The forty nine ers haven't won the Super Bowl. And
since Moby Dick was a Guppy. Uh. You know, I'm
trying to give you the reasons why people want buying in.
And whereas Kansas City won last year, it's always more

(17:04):
apt to pick somebody who's won last year compared to
someone in one and thirty years, regardless of regardless of
you know what I mean of the results.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
That's why I'm.

Speaker 13 (17:14):
Just saying, I'm a die hard Packers fan and I've
seen what the Niners can do, and they've done it
to me multiple years.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Right.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
I think a lot of it has to do with
brock Purty too, and still he does it. People just
aren't gonna believe in him, and I'm not.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Gonna believe it.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
I wanted to pick I really seriously thought about picking
San Francisco in the preseason to get to the super Bowl,
and my thinking was, I can't imagine brock Purty getting
them that far.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
That's just too much.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
And Shan has a bad history too.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Chris.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
So I think people look at those factors and say,
it's Party.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
I know it's not a one on one matchup, but
it's Party going to beat Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
That's what people are thinking.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
And but the thing is, as you said, it's team No,
party's not better than Mahomes. But it's a team game,
and the Niners got a lot of talent, more talent
than the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
All right, thanks for the call, appreciate it. Uh Chili
Tim in Atlanta. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
What up, Tim?

Speaker 13 (18:17):
What's up?

Speaker 14 (18:18):
My two favorite fellas? What's going on?

Speaker 7 (18:20):
HW? You up?

Speaker 5 (18:21):
New?

Speaker 2 (18:21):
We're good, bro.

Speaker 14 (18:23):
Man, I'm feeling good. I'm about to do my Joe
name is imitation Baby. I am guaranteeing a forty nine
of victory.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Wow, I know.

Speaker 15 (18:31):
That he is.

Speaker 14 (18:32):
Why?

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Why? Why?

Speaker 14 (18:35):
Because? And I tell you who the MVP will be,
c Mac. He will have one hundred and eighty five
scrimmage yards and that will be the difference between running.
He'll have over one hundred yards Russian and at least
maybe seventy five to eighty yards receiving, and he will
be the difference in the game. He will be the MVP.
And I'm guaranteeing a forty nine of day Tree that.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Now, well, look again, maybe it'd be a different team
playing if Aaltimore had run the ball. And so I agree,
I mean, Shanahan, I think if if the run is
working he'll stick with it, and I think he's learned
his lessons from some of those pasts.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
We hope so, Chris, because he's changed up in the
fourth quarter in those games.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
It cost itself.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
Shay could have a couple of Super Bowls now by
now yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Well as the coordinator, but you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
So the run game is critical if they're for whatever reason,
if they're not able to run, they're gonna be in trouble.
But remember Kansas City's missing two of its interior defensive
lineman yep.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Noddy, So yeah, they that's something too.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Thanks Tim, appreciated Nick and Kansas You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Rado.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
What up?

Speaker 9 (19:46):
Nick?

Speaker 16 (19:48):
Hey love the show, guys.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Thank you buddy.

Speaker 16 (19:51):
It's an old fat farmer from Kansas. But I've got
a question for you, Okay, why why are quarterbacks paid
so much more than other players?

Speaker 2 (20:01):
We've talked about that before.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
You It's it's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
Christ and I don't agree that you should pay the position.
You should play to pay the player and the player
that has the most impact. So we're with you, Nick,
it's out of control, and we understand. Here's the other
thing you have to have a quarterback to have a
chance to win, and that's why they get so much juice.

Speaker 16 (20:22):
Well, the reason they're paid so much more is because
there's so much more important and that's why you have
to go with the Chiefs in this game.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
Well, look, we understand there that's the most important position.
But the best quarterback doesn't always win. And we I
get who Mahomes is. I mean, I I'm tired of
betting against him, but I thought the better team was
the Niners.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
But you know, we'll he if.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
He wins this game, Rob, Like we said, a lot
of pundits are just picking him because of Mahomes and
that mystique will only grow if they win the super
Bowl in a year when they really weren't that good.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
Rather if they lose, you might look back and go, Chris,
you know what, they really weren't that good, Like this
is right. They were about who they were and it
showed up in the biggest game of the year. Like,
so we'll see. I hear you, Nick, I'm not mad
at you from Kansas, all right.

Speaker 16 (21:17):
The fastest dog doesn't always win the race, but that's
staring sure the way to bed.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
No, I get it. I understand why people are doing it.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
Uh, Mark in Sacramento, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
How you doing, Mark?

Speaker 10 (21:30):
What's going on, Jennifer? Pretty good, guys. How you guys today?

Speaker 7 (21:34):
Great?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
We're good man.

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Real quick. I'm picking the Niners seven thirty seven, the
player and everybody s goot a battle. But the Niners
got behind against Detroit and they came out the second half.
They were played straight the Debos. Samuel went down and
scored in four minutes Deepo. Samuel was going to create

(21:59):
a problem. Higging runs yes, back field and he beats
me since the back he turned into a running back.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
But he catches thinking about gonna try to take away McCaffrey.

Speaker 10 (22:09):
They're gonna go to Deebo.

Speaker 13 (22:10):
I'm calling that's no.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
I hear you, I hear you.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
They got and even like Nick Wright was talking today
on the show First Things, First Rock, but they gonna
do you know, Uh, the Jerry snee is gonna take
out Brandon Iyu and he might Snead is great, but
you still got Debo and you still got kidled, and
you still got McCaffrey, you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Like they got just so many weapons, right, that's what
that's You can't take them all out, Chris.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Right right, Absolutely, We're good, all right?

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Uh, we got Miles Garrett, Denzel Award right around the corner.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
First, Steve the Sagre with the update.

Speaker 1 (22:44):

made it through the week in Vegas?

Speaker 2 (22:53):

Speaker 10 (22:55):

Nope?

Speaker 5 (23:00):
No, thanks, Alex, no other duties other than a fat
steak before I get on that plane to night.

Speaker 7 (23:06):
That's right.

Speaker 8 (23:07):

Speaker 1 (25:51):
What's up, my friends? How are you guys doing?

Speaker 7 (25:53):
Look great about yourself, doing good.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Doing good?

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Well, Bounty. I see wings here, I see paper towels.
Talk about Bounty and everything going on.

Speaker 7 (26:02):
With you guys. Whether you can't have football with that wings?

Speaker 15 (26:05):
Hey, you can't have wings without Bounty, no doubt. You
need them right exactly.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
Come on, look at the wings we got in front
of us, and you know you gotta wipe that mout.

Speaker 9 (26:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (26:17):
I mean, you can't be no look walking around sloppy bodies.
You gotta take care of yourself. It's naturally gonna get
a little bit out of hand with wings.

Speaker 7 (26:25):
But they got Bounty to take care of you.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
No doubt. All right, let's talk a little football too.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
You guys played Rock Party and the forty nine ers
actually beat them. Let's just start with the team that
you guys played and beat during the season, and Rock Purdy.
There's just some magic formula or something to get them stopped,
because they've come back twice in the postseason to get
here some pretty big comebacks.

Speaker 11 (26:50):
I mean it's not just as easy as you know,
just stopping the run and trying to force it on
you know, Party to win the game. He's showing that
he can do that. He showed that all year. But
I think you got to you gotta put pressure on him.
You got to make sure that he's he's feeling a
little bit no nervous, anxious in that pocket.

Speaker 7 (27:05):
And I think that's what we did best.

Speaker 11 (27:06):
Know, we had a lot of heat on him throughout
the entire game and they were locking up on the
back end.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
They talk about getting a quarterback off their spot. Is
that is that what you're talking about him?

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Yeah, make them throwing the move.

Speaker 11 (27:17):
I mean, he's shown that he can, he can move
down the field, he can towd the rock a little bit.

Speaker 7 (27:22):
No, we got guys to chase me down though. They
got to be able to keep contained the job.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Same, Yeah, from your perspective.

Speaker 7 (27:30):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 15 (27:30):
Yeah, similar to what Miles was saying. Just got to
get that pressure on Party and get guys in his face.
But I think actually when we play those guys, that
was probably one of our highest percentages of man and
man coverage that we played on the back end. So
I think just staying tight in coverage on those guys
helped out a lot of game miles time to get
there and get some sacks and put pressure out there.
So just making those go hand in hand. But if

(27:54):
you give pretty free access and able to make those
easy completions, he's able to make that happen.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
You that party uses legs against the Lions. You know,
he had a couple of big runs that were important.
How surprised we didn't see that much of that.

Speaker 11 (28:08):
You knew he had it in them. I didn't know that.
You know he was gonna, you know, take that next
step that quickly. You know him no, not just sitting
in the pocket, but saying the heck we need to play,
They'll go out there and go get it.

Speaker 7 (28:20):
So it was really like the the next step in
his development.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
How about the Kansas City Chiefs. I mean, everybody of
course respects them. They won the Super Bowl a year ago.
They got Patrick Mahomes, they got Andy Reid, we got
all that, but they scuffled this year. Let's just be honest.
They were five and five in their last ten. Then
they had to go on the road for the first time.
But they beat Buffalo, right, and they beat the Ravens.
How how how good are the Chiefs.

Speaker 15 (28:46):
Man, They're they're never they're never underdogs.

Speaker 7 (28:48):
I mean they got their.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Experience underdogs in this Super Bowl that, Yeah, that's what
these Vegas says, they're the underdog.

Speaker 15 (28:55):
Yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't say that they got the experience.
They they didn't been there, done that, they got super
bowls under their belt, already leading a pack with my home.
So I mean, you can never count those guys out,
regardless who they're going against. So they're a great team,
and I mean they've been showing that year in a
year out.

Speaker 11 (29:10):
No, they'll they'll say that they're hunderdogs, but you never
count against the guys who got experience, who've been there.

Speaker 7 (29:16):
You know, Ben to Mountaintop knows who it takes.

Speaker 11 (29:18):
And you know when forty nine is getting a jam
inevitably during the game, you know, No, they have to
find a way that they haven't done before. They've been
in their position. They never remem before Chiefs been in,
been back to the siticlumb before. They can rely on that,
and you know, start punching.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Out how But the forty nine ers this year with
their comebacks, does that help a team like to be
down like they were against the Lions, they were desperate.
You're down twenty four to seven at home, the crowds
turned on you. You know what I mean, people are like,
oh my god. You know, like like we're not going
to the super Bowl, which they were supposed to go
all year. Can that fuel you as well? Like make

(29:56):
you feel like you can come back and no matter
what happens early, there's a chance of making a comeback
for sure.

Speaker 11 (30:03):
I remember Belichick talking about that during the sixteen year
old season, saying that he wished they would have got
tested during the season and the playoffs leading up to
the Super Bowl so that you know, they could feel
that feeling of being you're back against the wall, being
prepared to fight out, to fight off and fight out
the corner. But know them having that right before the
Super Bowl, I think that that helps them trend up

(30:24):
for us, know that they can do it and they
now have a little bit of that experience and under
their belt. The Chiefs have been They've been there before,
They've been there multiple times, and you know, Mahomes Mahomes.

Speaker 7 (30:33):
He can't bet against it, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
I'll guess Miles Garrett and Denzel Ward of the Cleveland Browns,
they're here on behalf of bounty with eating wings and
we're wiping our mouths with bounty pay per Toiles, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
The quicker picker upper strong too. Denzel. Let me ask
you about the Browns.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
I mean, you guys have a tremendous defense, but man,
when I watched that game against Houston, I couldn't believe it.
I mean, I know there was a lot of turnovers
that put the defense into spots as well, but just
talk about your defense and you know, expectations for next year.

Speaker 7 (31:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (31:06):
So are you talking specifically on the Houston game?

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Yeah, just just Houston. I mean that was that was
a tough, tough way to go out and play.

Speaker 7 (31:13):
Yeah, it was tough.

Speaker 15 (31:14):
I mean, we had high expectations for ourselves and we
didn't meet those expectations. Come game did against Houston. Houston
played a great game, and unfortunately we weren't. We weren't
able to get it done. I mean, uh so we
just got to come back ready to play next year
and fix those mistakes that we had happened in that
Houston game and be better for next year.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
How about the division? The AFC North is ridiculous. I
mean it's really really top football.

Speaker 11 (31:40):
Tough defension in football bar none, and you know, I
feel like the guys you're coming out of that always
have a great chance of winning it at all. But
you got to you got to go through, you know,
the trenches to the team making in the playoffs, and.

Speaker 7 (31:55):
That's what I like. It prepared you for anything else
you see in the season.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
How about Deshan Watson. To Sean Watson, you know, got
off to a slow start, good catch there that hand,
you could have been a tight end. Did you see
that he didn't fumble it been waiting on.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Very nice.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
But but to Sean, you know, got off to a
slowest thought that most people thought, and then kind of
got going and then got wound up getting injured. So
you got to see maybe he can get back to
where he was when he's with the Texans or closer
to that.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
How big would that be for your team?

Speaker 7 (32:27):
Denzel oh Man, that's gonna be huge.

Speaker 15 (32:28):
We know what type of player DeShawn is, and I
mean he showed flashes of that during the season. Like
I said before, he got hurt and hurt his shoulder,
but just being able to get him back and get
him healthy, I mean that's gonna be huge in our
success next year.

Speaker 11 (32:41):
He still hasn't gotten no to that point where he's
gotten like a real groove where he was one hundred
percent feeling healthy, you know, gotten into the like the
rhythm of the game. Like he there's there's always been
something where he's you know, it was coming back from
time off or like dealing with the shoulder. There's all
of something that's pulling it back. So when once he

(33:02):
gets his groove during next season, it's really.

Speaker 7 (33:04):
Gonna be scared.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
All right.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
We got about thirty seconds ago. I watch a Super
Bowl prediction, and will you watch the game? You how
many former football football players I've known?

Speaker 1 (33:13):
I'm not in it. I don't watch the Super Bowl.
Are you watching the game?

Speaker 7 (33:17):
Damn right?

Speaker 1 (33:17):
If you're not watching, that's what are you watching. I'm
gonna be wherever Miles is in some wings.

Speaker 7 (33:24):
All right?

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Who you got? Who's winning?

Speaker 7 (33:26):
Miss Chief?

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Big or tight?

Speaker 10 (33:29):
Right?

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Tight? I got the Niners. Niners, my man, I'm with
you on the Niners. All right, Appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (33:35):

Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parker's
Dally Dix against the Sprat.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
All right, Little Donna Summers just start off this second. Chris,
I like that love to Love You baby. I remember
that song very vividly when I was eleven.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
I'm a woman. All right, here we go, Chris. It
was great song, best bet.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
I'm taking the Charlotte Hornets at ten and forty plus
fifteen and a half in Milwaukee.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
What rob G? Why are you shaking your head?

Speaker 9 (35:13):
Stop betting on Battine.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
I'm bad.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
No, he says it all the time. I'm taking the
Milwaukee wins, Chris, but not by fifteen and a half.
That's a hell of a lot of points.

Speaker 10 (35:22):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
All right, I'm gonna take Sacramento minus two and a
half hosting Denver tonight. And I'm also gonna take I'm
gonna take the New Orleans Pelicans minus three and a half.
CHRISTI were in Los Angeles taking on the Lakers. That's
happening at ten thirty Eastern. So I do have Charlotte

(35:44):
plus fifteen and a half, Sacramento at home hosting Denver
minus two and a half. They just beat the Lakers, right,
and Rob G was all just going to Yep, go
get them.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Definitely Chris and the Lakers, and I'm taking the Hornets
New Orleans, I should say minus two and a half.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
And remember, I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on. Let me tell
you this.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
We're at the fight last night, Chris, which was a
boring fight to say the lead, rob G, Chris, did
you watch?

Speaker 1 (36:17):
It was boring?

Speaker 2 (36:18):
But one guy he won, but he just was boring.
I know he won. The other guy really with.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
The other guy was boxing his ass off, staying away,
stay outside, so there was no action.

Speaker 9 (36:31):
There was no action chasing the other guy the entire fight.
He couldn't catch him.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
It was bad. It was bad.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
But anyway, rob G, you know, was the biggest Laker
fan and he proved it last night because he had
his TV, it's his phone watching the Laker game at
the fight.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
That's what I'm sitting.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
It was bad, and your Lakers rewarded you with a
big fat.

Speaker 9 (36:53):
L statue Knight wearing the Mama jersey.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
Exactly all that right, And it looked like it would
be a night. If they're gonna come together, that would
be the night.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Yeah, yeah, ye didn't happen, all right, rob G, tell us?
What did happen is? Chip Kelly left a head coaching.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Job at UCLA to be an O C rob offensive
coordinator at Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Rob G, give us kind of the Summarine, right.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
So chip Kelly has been, you know, on the prow
for an offensive coordinator gig in the NFL now for weeks.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
If it was black, I called him chocolate chip Kelly.

Speaker 7 (37:26):
That's right.

Speaker 9 (37:27):
He interviewed with the Raiders, didn't get it. He tried
to get offensive coordinator gig, didn't.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Get it, and ultimately he decided to move over to
Ohio State to work under Ryan Day. And both Ryan
Day and Chip Kelly worked together in New Hampshire, so
they have some relationship there.

Speaker 9 (37:41):
But what shocking, Chris you alluded to.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
He's leaving a Power five head coaching gig to take
a offensive coordinator gig in a conference that he's moving
to because the UCLA is moving to the Big ten.

Speaker 9 (37:53):
He's jumpionships Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
And obviously people knew that he was dissatisfied with the
UCLA for a number of reasons. But what's also being
suggested is that this may become more common than you think.
The era of nil and the transfer portal. A lot
of coaches. Deon Sanders has said publicly. Nick Sabman's alluded
to this. They don't like this new college football landscape.

(38:15):
So you're seeing more coaches want to go to the
NFL or even just become coordinated.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
Right where you don't have to deal with all that, Chris,
you know, you just deal with football. And I'm not
chasing nobody. These kids are walking around with money in
their pockets and I don't have the headache.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
I'm serious.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Like, Chip Kelly's a football coach, so he probably still
wants to coach, right, be a coach. And this is
why you let the other You let the head coach
deal with da I think these older guys don't like.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
And Ryan Day on the flip side, is like, I
don't need to coach anymore. I'm gonna be the CEO
coach all Jim Harbaugh, where I can worry about the portal,
worry about nil, and not necessarily coach the day to
day x's and o's.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Yeah, I mean it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
I gotta be honest, Rob, If I was coaching thirty
years in college football.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
I wouldn't want to do it the new way either.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
Now we're happy for the kids, right, and the recruiting
could always be, you know, tough and tedious anyway, but
at least you felt and we know, Rob, the thing
is we know it was done underground.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Right, they were giving out money. Everybody knows. They won't
admit it, but we right.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
I mean, I guess you felt like it might be fair.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
But now I think Rob, They're like, I'm at the
kids going where the most money is, and I don't
want to have to sit here and be begging these
boosters and you know, trying to get them.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
With set of money. It's just the right world with begging.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
I remember John McLeod when he left Chris, he was
the Knicks coach when I was covering the team. And
when he left and went to Notre Dame, you remember
that went to college and he told me said, the
most demoralizing or was to go to these kids eighteen
year old.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
And beg for them to come to school. And now
there's money involved.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Right now, the kids. You're like, dude, how much?

Speaker 1 (40:11):
How much money? You got to check?

Speaker 7 (40:13):
How much?

Speaker 3 (40:14):
It's even more than that, because you know you alluded
to it under the table, like hey, if I pay
you five hundred grand to come to Alabama's hypothetically I
got you, you're in my program.

Speaker 9 (40:24):
Whatever.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
Now it's here's five hundred to come and I got
to give you another hundred every months to keep you there.
So yeah, it's not a one time deal where I
get them and I'm.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Cool with it.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
You're always on a day to day basis recruiting these
kids and trying to get more more money.

Speaker 5 (40:42):
And if you bench somebody, or you take them out
of the starting lineup, or you Benjamin the last four
minutes of ago, whatever it is, that could be transfer
portal like I'm out of here.

Speaker 4 (40:53):
It's almost kind of like AU. And I think one
of the problems with AAU basketball rob is, you know,
if you yell at a kid for not playing defense,
or taking bad shots, not sharing the ball, whatever, he
might if he's that good, he might just quit and
go play for the next team down the street. Chris,
And this is, you know, in some ways similar, Oh, coach,

(41:16):
don't like me, You're not playing me. I'll go to
UCLA or Oregon or wherever, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
I remember watching the Ball brothers Lamolo ball on a game.

Speaker 9 (41:26):
Chris.

Speaker 5 (41:27):
He cherry picked the tired game and they just kept
throwing them the ball, get a rebound on it all
the way down to and I was like, the coach
had no control, couldn't say anything, couldn't make him play deeper.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
It was ridiculous, ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
No, it's it's so yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:43):
I think that's probably at least that's a serious factor
in what Chip Kelly and these other guys are doing.

Speaker 2 (41:49):
