It’s The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard & Rob Parker! The Aaron Rodgers versus Tom Brady debate is back and in full force today after Brady’s Patriots beat the Packers last night. Rob is set in his ways about Aaron Rodgers being the best quarterback in football right now, while Chris is siding with Tom Terrific. The guys talk about Le’Veon Bell’s ticking clock as he can still join the Steelers, but give insight as to why the Steelers might not need him after all. Plus, Hall of Fame defensive back Rod Woodson stops by to explain why he believes Dan Marino - and not Brady or Rodgers - is the greatest quarterback of all-time, and Super Bowl champion and New Orelans Saints radio color analyst Deuce McAllister join the show to tell us why the Saints are the real team to beat in the NFC. And, as always, the guys deliver another award winning edition of Sources Say.

How are you today? I'm doing just great. How are you,
mister Chris Bruss, I'm great, man, I'm wonderful. Yeah, you

(01:51):
know what, the time change did a good thing for me.
I needed that extra hour. Remember, I was kind of
feeling n Yeah, you're going back to New York at
the end of the last week, and I got some
rest this weekend, so you got see. I did not
get to psychologically enjoy the extra hour. No, I didn't.
What happened. I just I totally forgot about it. And

(02:12):
nowadays with the phones and automatically automatically chan so you know,
I've I've gotten used to like when the time changes,
I savor that extra hour. You know, psychology is like
a boost. I totally missed it. I saved it. I
rolled around in it. It was so good. But you
know what, you know what I'm saying, Oh, I like,

(02:34):
I'm just saying an hour. It's like, psychologically yes, but
I needed another hour. It was it came at the
right time for me. You were down, you were sluggish
last yeah, last Friday, a little bit, a little bit.
I'm usually you know, full of energy and I feel
great Like today, I just felt I got a lot
of things done, woke up early, wrote a column for

(02:55):
the Shadow League dot com. You know, so it was.
It was a kind of a controversial con for me. Nah.
So as always, Christie couldn't do this farm radio program
without the odd couple crucial. Let's welcome a man, of course.
Our producer rob Ge, Rob Gara, yep, rob Ge, we
call him Alex. Our engineer. Our anchor is deb Carson.

(03:19):
As always, she'll keep us updated. Don't forget Monday night
football coming up that Titans and the Cowboys. The debut
or Cowboys debut of Amari Cooper. Let's see if he
can really help out Dak Prescott. So we'll see that
big in turn Sean on the other side of the glass. Uh,
and of course Elijah is helping us out as well,

(03:41):
right Uh, Paris Facebook Live you two. Hey, the stuff
the grain Stuffy did the other day when we were
singing uh aery spears when you and me was not
included in that. But the video of you, the video
of you and your face while we're singing. It feel
sick and so many people are like these two forty

(04:05):
fifty year old black guys. Notice saw cornballs that use
your turn cornball brothers. That's why I wasn't singing you
don't want to be I can't. I got a reputation
to look at to uphold you ain't got But I
honestly I liked the show. I wasn't like a huge time,
but wasn't the appointment television for me? But yes, so

(04:29):
the whole cruise on the other side of the glass,
Chris brusaw it on this Monday, Let's kick some at
that's right, let's do it. And the big story this weekend.
There were several of them, but the biggest, of course,
was the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots.
They even got the mighty Michael Jordan involved in this one.
In the marketing for this game, it was Tom Brady

(04:51):
versus Aaron Rodgers, and as we all know by now,
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots prevailed over Aaron Rodgers.
Brady looked bad in that game. If you watch the
game honestly, got the w if with Tom Brady. That's
really add it, man, if you watched the game, honestly,
he missed a lot of throws, not as many as Rogers.

(05:15):
He threw. He threw one touchdown. Gimme touchdown, give me nobody, nobody,
how's that a gimme? It was white. Josh Gordon looked
like an All Pro. And you know what, Tom Brady
now has one touchdown thrown in the last two games,
eight quarters. He didn't play that well. And as usual,
hold on, Aaron Rodgers had a bad had They were

(05:37):
driving to start the fourth quarter and uh got to
turn over another fumble that cost him a chance of
winning a road game. He had a fumble a week
before against the Rams. They could have won that game.
He fumbled, takes the ball out of the end zone.
And here the first play in the fourth quarter with
them driving in Patriots territory, they fumble the ball away.
Tom Brady, who you said didn't play well, to higher

(06:00):
QB rating than Aaron Rodgers, he still didn't play well.
I'm talking about Aaron Rodgers. A QB rating or he
was twenty four for forty three miss nineteen. That's you
know nowadays, that's not a good percentage. Tom Brady completed
twenty two or thirty five more yards two hundred ninety
four yards one TD. Rodgers had two tds and the
Rodgers rating was eighty nine. Bradies was ninety nine. I mean,

(06:25):
if you say Tom Brady played poorly, then you'd have
to say the same thing about and I've been Aaron
Rodgers face. Yeah, but this difference when you're down by
a couple of scores and you just start throwing on
every down, that's when you get out of your regular offense.
So of course you're trying to make the win. The
game was in the balance. Tom Brady led his team
on two scoring drove im talking about it was seventeen

(06:46):
all right, it was seventeen all And then Aaron Rodgers
was driving his team into the Patriots territory when uh,
what was his name? Aaron Jones fumbled? The football's getting
looked fumbled. The football chimes the game the game of
what you're trying to say, because you try You wrote
it today on shallow league dot com, And if you

(07:08):
want to take a look good online. Uh, and take
a look at the story online. You're saying that nothing
was settled from last night, and I think we all
would agree. I mean, when you're talking about all time
greats that you're comparing in terms of their all time greatness,
of course, no regular season game settled it. Brady could

(07:28):
have thrown for six hundred yards, if Sis could have
thrown five interceptions, and he still wouldn't have settled anything.
And let's get this straight, when when I had when
we have this conversation, we're talking about the best quarterback,
not the goat. And you know that Chris even in
the column, what did I say? And d wouldn't Dare
say he's the goal because I'm not. I'm not because
it's not even a debate. It's not a debate. Tom

(07:50):
Brady is no, no, no, Tom Brady's not the goal.
There's only there's only two discussion right in my book,
Tom Brady and Joe mont Bo. Okay, your argument is,
what is that if you're looking for a quarterback, you're
starting a team, and you could take either one of
these guys, you would take Aaron Rodgers nine and a

(08:13):
half times out of ten every time over Tom Brady.
He does everything a quarterback can do. He's that good.
He's mobile, he's accurate, he has a strong arm, he
has a touch, he can do anything. I always go
back to Shannon Sharp, who won two Super Bowls with

(08:35):
John Elway, another great quarterback, and he says, nobody throws
the football better than Aaron Rodgers that he's ever seen.
It's a Pro Bowl I mean, a Hall of Famer
who caught the football for a living. I give him
a lot of for him to say that with a
guy he won two Super Bowls with says a lot. Okay, look,
that's what I'm talking about. As far as the best quarterback,

(08:56):
So are you saying what he's the best in the league.
He's the best. He's the best. He's the best I've
ever a quarterback I've ever seen. I'll say what you
call is the most accomplished quarterback I've seen. Tom Brady.
He is Chris I've always said he's a great quarterback.
He's been lucky a lot more than most people. But
he's the most accomplished, and I mean winning awards, setting records,

(09:18):
three MVPs, that's one more than Aaron Rodgers, obviously the
five super Bowls. Look, I'm an Aaron Rodgers fan and
I've been right there with you for a long time.
I hope I picked the Packers to win the Super Bowl. Yeah, obviously.
Um so I'm an Aaron Rodgers fans. I would really

(09:39):
like nothing more than for him to win at least
two more. If he wins two super Bowls, he could
be in it. And it detends to have this. If
he wins two more super Bowls, says three and all.
He has the best quarterback rating right now, if any
quarterback in the history of the NFL. He has that.
He also has the best touchdown to interception ratio, which

(10:04):
helps it into the rating, which go right. But but
he has that, and it's a number two on that
list is Tom Brady. It's four touchdowns to one interception.
Tom Brady is two point three touchdowns to per intercept.
We're talking about a lot of big gifts if he
wins too much. I'm just saying that that's not what

(10:26):
I'm that's not but that's not what I'm not calling him.
What I'm saying to NBC that was the whole NBC
with the go to I got to even go to
like your question of if I had to pick a
quarterback physically, without question, Aaron Rodgers is the man. I mean,
he beats Tom Brady on just about every metric, right, mobility,

(10:51):
strength of arm. They're both accurate, but he's probably more
even more accurate. Throw everything he run well, he doesn't
get there. We don't know. He only played in one
so he does have to be objective. And here's the thing, Rob,
I've come to the conclusion, and I think you would

(11:12):
agree that being a great quarterback is not just about
physical tools. And Aaron Rodgers has good intangibles, good intangibles,
but Tom Brady has superb intangibles. What makes Tom Brady
the greatest quarterback of all time? And to be honest

(11:33):
in fairness to you, what made Joe Montana such a
great quarterback in many people's eyes the greatest of all
time was not their physical gifts, but was the intangible.
But he also was making the right play at just
the right time. It was ball placement, it was your leadership,
It was engendering the confidence of your teammates, it was

(11:54):
building them the things you say, but he also has
the numbers. When you talk about Joe, both Brady's got
great numbers town eleven touchdowns. Don't get off the subject.
Bring in Monte, Okay, but I'm just saying anyone three MVP,
I gave you the I just gave you the respect
of saying some people think he's the greatest ever. I'm

(12:17):
just saying, of these two, Tom Brady's intangibles are far
better than a Here's my problem with clues when you
don't see people that leave Tom Brady criticize him, but
they like our own. Greg Jenny's who we love. He's

(12:37):
been critical Donner Driver, critical of Aaron rodd intangible. What
did he say when he has to pick the two quarterbacks?
One of the two quarterbacks, Greg Jennings picked Aaron Rodgers.
He said it himself that there's not a better. If
you want to win, then Tom Brady is your man.

(12:59):
And let's go to Bill Belichick because everybody's wondering, is
it Belichick? Is it Brady? Here's Bill Belichick without Tom Brady.
In Cleveland, he didn't have Tom Brady. His overall record
in five years, he had one winning hold on No,
not just that he was thirty six and forty four,
had one winning season. Okay, in New England. He had

(13:23):
two years without Tom Brady. The first year with Drew
Bledso was a good quarterback. He goes five and eleven.
Then he starts the next season, his second in New England.
They start owing two with Drew Bledso. Tom Brady comes
in when Bledso gets hurt, goes eleven in three and
they win the Super Bowl. Bill Belichick has seven full

(13:44):
seasons without Tom Brady as his starting quarterback, and only
two of them were winning seasons. Chris, can you go
to the ten years that Tom Brady, the ten years
between super bowls Tom Brady? That that's Aaron Rodgers' career.
It was nine years ago the Rodgers even got to
the Super Bowl. But so if you want to use that,
tom Brady is a winner and the only reason all

(14:07):
the intangibles that lead to that, he had to That's
why he's the goal. And I like Aaron Rodgers, but
I just gotta be objective. But the region you say
the intangibles is because you can't come up with the
numbers to support Tom Brady being that that's what he
didn't do, because he wouldn't be a three time MVP
when he had a great here's the other arm. He
didn't win. We beat him twice. We got so that's

(14:30):
two out of eight he won. He lost the Nick Foles,
he los Aaron Rodgers losing the wild card, the divisional round.
Rodgers is one thousand. Would you let me ask you this, mister,
mister numbers, would you rather be five and three in
the Super Bowl or one in? Oh? I'd rather you

(14:52):
would not care? He you know how many? That's why
when you do baseball statistics in basket Boston, the football statistics,
they have a certain amount of rushes, receptions, passes, times
at bat that you have to have to qualify. One
isn't enough. There are a lot of guys that have

(15:14):
one time at the plate and they hit the ball
and batting the thousand speechless. I I left Rob Parkers
feed No no, I was choking at something. Num. We
are going to continue this conversation. I was choking. I
had some buckwheeds and I could wouldn't go down the
porridge exactly. We're going to continue this conversation with you.

(15:36):
You can hit us up eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox. I have grudgingly come to the conclusion that
Tom Brady is just a better course This isn't the
moment's eighteen years. Okay, keep your little little sayings and cliches.

(15:58):
The moment is eighteen years all right. It's the Eye
Couple of Fox Sports Radio Radio. Hit us up eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Keep it locked. Tom Brady
could do that. Tom Brady could do that. Thanks for
listening to The Odd Couple podcast. Be sure to check
us out live every weekday from seven pm to ten
pm Eastern four to seven Pacific on Fox Sports Radio.

(16:21):
Find your local station for The Odd Couple at Fox
Sports Radio dot Com, or stream us live every day
on the iHeartRadio app by searching f s R. It's
the Eye Couple, Chris Brusard and Rod Parker coming to
you on a Metal Monday. DJ Alex Tisher will be
bringing in the metal coming in from every break and

(16:42):
we the Eye Couple, are brought to you by Discover
Card because Discover treats you like you would treat you.
We got it started at the top of the show,
just who's the better quarterback and not the not the
greatest of all time because all Rogers doesn't have enough accomplishments.
But I thought this battle that Rob is trying to

(17:03):
fight that Aaron Rodgers is better for for years and
I've just gotten fatigued by it, and I just have
to admit, Look, tom Brady has these intangibles. And I'm
not saying Aaron Rodgers is bad at intangils or a
bad leader. He's just not close to the level that
Tom Brady is. He doesn't galvanize his teammates emotionally the

(17:26):
way that Tom Brady does. That's a huge part of
being a quarterback, a point guard, a team leader, whatever
you are, and Tom Brady has it to a level
that very few athletes have ever had it, and I
think that's why he's the Gold and I just think
a better quarterback. Let's let's hit the calls, Rob and
see what they're saying. Let's go to Daniel in South Carolina. Daniel,

(17:48):
welcome to the Eye Couple. Hey, thanks for taking the call, guys,
and I'm just gonna go Chris. You're about to love
this call, um, Rob. I gotta tell you, man, when
you are defending Aaron Rodgers, you sound exactly like a
lebron apologist, and I think it's it's kind of funny

(18:10):
because every argument that you make for Aaron Rodgers is
the argument that people are making for Lebron over Michael.
And I am a Lebron apologist. I'm a Lebron guy.
I think he's a better basketball player, but I think
Jordan was the greatest leader and greatest champion of all time.
And that's where the distinction is. Because of the physical
capabilities that Lebron has, bigger, size, those things, I take Lebrons,

(18:35):
but when you factor in the intangibles, it's Michael without
a question. And this is the same argument Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers. I don't see the difference, and it sends
like you're sitting on one side offensor basketball and one
side of not at all, not at all. And Daniel,
I'm just telling you right here, right now, that nine
out of ten gms would take Aaron Rodgers over Tom Brady,

(19:00):
everything being everything on the table, they would take Aaron Rodgers.
I'm telling you, I've I've talked to enough football players
and executives who all say he's the best quarterback they've
ever seen. Well, I think, yeah, doubt. I mean because
I felt again, I felt what you're saying. And I
do think a lot of people, most people in football

(19:21):
the way you feel. We have Channon Trump. I'm going
by guys, but who I respect their opinions. I think
Rob and that was a great call by Daniel because
we talked about that last week. There, you know, Brady Rogers,
Lebron Jordan, there are a lot of similarities into those comparisons.
A great call. But I just think after a while,

(19:41):
we have got to start wondering, Okay, why Aaron Rodgers
isn't getting his team over the hump even to the
Super Bowl. And we can make excuses and this and that,
but everybody's got an excuse at some time. Brady continues
at forty one with I mean, Chris Hogan, Wes Welker,

(20:03):
don't act like there's not as difference in people in
the league. When Randy Mos loss, he touchdowns and they
lost and wasn't his fault. They scored fourteen points in
the Super Bowl? Has the greatest team they were eighteen
and those crip point is one of the big arguments
for Tom Brady is who he's had as received. We

(20:25):
have Randy Moss had guys who haven't done anything elsewhere.
Keep gets them, they become all pros. Blake in New Mexico.
You're on the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Blake,
what's up? Guys? Love the show. Thank you, Thank you,
hey man, rob he's kind of proving the boat thing
right lately. Thank you with the Aaron Rodgers stuff. You know,

(20:48):
the guy the last taller were hitting right on the head. Um.
It's like what you say about Lebron. You know, it's
the same thing with Rogers and Brady. I mean, Brady
gets it done. No, but that's not as simple as
that's not but but he's not the go I want you,
Blake that the thing you got it mixed up is
we're talking about the best Chris. I'm not in the

(21:09):
Aaron Rodgers is the goat conversation. I read the column,
but that's not what I'm now. I'm the best quarterback.
Brady's the best quarterback. Roger. Let's go to David in Indiana. David,
welcome to the Eye Couple. Thanks thanks for taking my call.

(21:30):
Hey Richard. Uh, First, I mean I'm a Notre Dame
football fan. So for me to say that there's been
a better quarterback out there than Joe Montana, that's accomplishing
something and it's Tom Brady. I mean at the end
of the day, I mean, he elevates, He elevates his
team weekend and week out, and out of the five
championships in these one it's been primarily five different teams.

(21:51):
I mean, really, is the only the only Combs denominator
is him and Bill Belichick, you know, I mean it's just,
you know, he's just he's the greatest ever. That's the
great call, David. That's that's the thing, Rob. Right now,
the Green Bay Packers are looking like they're not gonna
make the playoffs, to my chagrin, because again they were

(22:13):
my Super Bowl pick. How can you be the best
player in the world, the best quarterback in the world
and in your prime and not make the playoffs. Well,
obviously you want to make the playoffs, but if gods
are gonna keep fumbling. The last two weeks on the road,
they had the rams on the ropes and bad break,

(22:39):
no break, John Brady gets all the lucky breaks, everything rolls.
Why everything roll? I don't know, I mean deal, did
he make a deal with the devils don't make the playoffs?
It's unbelievable. If the Green Bay Packers don't make the playoffs,
is Aaron Rodgers the best court you're talking about me

(23:00):
if I don't know, I mean as a season, have
they been knocked out officially? No? But there's what three,
four and one. I mean, I'm just asking hyper set.
I don't know if they don't make the playoffs I had,
I'm not even making a judgment they had thrown it out.
I could give you three games that they should have won.
But I mean, I'm just what are talking about when

(23:22):
you always bring up Eli Man he beating Time Brady
in the Super Bowl? White? But how lucky? That Ucky?
Lucky and my man was the receiver? Were good Ravid
Tyree were good friends, honestly and friend you can't remember
we are friends, all right. We've been to my house,

(23:43):
we we've prayed together, all that. And when he was
at your house, did anything stick to his helmet? While
that's my point, Like he's, he will tell you it's
a miracle. It was a miracle from God, all right,
So he will tell you somebody told him before that
that was gonna Yes, there's some bluss things Lucky. My

(24:04):
point is that that catch. I'm not saying it was luck.
I'm with him, but that catch, I mean that that
had nothing. Eli scrambled. Well, he didn't credit for getting
it and demanding him the catch. He caught him with
his helmet. All right, we will continue this with Rod Woodson,
Hall of Famer. I really want to see here Tom

(24:28):
Brady not have talked to him? Have you talked to
him about it? I just text him. I can't wait. No,
I didn't text d It's the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. We will continue after. We're bringing Dab Carson
for the latest in sports. Dab, Hey, welcome, thank you,
good to be here. Dab. I'm gonna cut your mic.
If you're Tom Brady, y'all, well I am. I'm saying

(24:50):
he's in the goat conversation for sure. Definitely I agree
with that. All right. Do you think he's the goat
right there? I do? Actually I do. I mean, I love,
I mean again, I have a soft pedal around. He
just come out and out. But he let him. Don't
let him make you heasity. Here's the deal here in
this anchor seat, we tend to be like, what are
the facts? Basically I do. I have a gut feeling. Yes,

(25:12):
I think Tom Brady is the greatest of all time. Um,
I think I think the Patriots success is completely dependent
upon him. I think, if so, cheating doesn't bother you
at all. Right, wait a minute, Lincoln Kennedy, our friend
here at Fox Sports Radio, says, if you're not cheating,
you're not trying. But by the way, how do we
know that he cheated? I don't know. He got suspended

(25:34):
for four games because he wouldn't turn over his cell phone.
Would you turn over your cell phone? Yeah? I would
not to clear my nailing, to clear my name. Absolutely.
Oh come on, really, and job don mine baseball players?
Oh sorry, no, that's okay. In fact, let let's go
ahead and go to baseball. Since she made the segue there,

(25:54):
we have all the big the finalists for the awards
out there for the al MVP, the three five analists
or Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts, Indian sinfielder Jose Ramirez,
and Angels outfielder Mike Trout. Wait a minute, So j
D Martinez not in the conversation with the exactly that
was the that's the big thing that has exploded because

(26:16):
j D. Martinez has been left out of the MVP compers.
That's yeah, it's a surprising MVP in the NL, the
finalist Rocky third baseman Nolan Eronado, um jove Vaiez of
the Cubs, and Brewers outfielder Christian Yellish. Those are all predictable.
I would yeah, yeah, Are you kidding? The great second

(26:36):
half of the season, absolutely yeah yeah. Uh. Cy Young
Award finalists and the a L Corey Kluber of the Indians,
Blake Snell of the Rays and Justin Verlander of the Astros.
Uh and the n L Jacob deGrom of the Mets,
Phillies so Aaron Nolan and of course National's righty Max
Scherz are no surprise there. Rookie of the Year finalists

(26:56):
Al Yankee third baseman Miguel Anduhr show Hey, Tony the
two way star for the Angels and Yankee second baseman
at Glaver Torres and in the NL, Braves outfielder Ronald Lacunia,
Junior Dodgers Rdy Walker Bueller and National's out Tudor one
Soto Manager of the Year quickly a Raise Skipper Kevin Cash,
Alex Cora of the Red Sox, Bob Melvin of the

(27:19):
Ais and in the NL Bud Black of the Rockies,
Craig Counsel of the Brewers and Brave Skipper Brian Snicker,
and I'll just wrap up with a quick NFL Weeknight
of course, wraps up tonight eight fifteen Eastern from Jerry World,
Cowboys hosting the Titans. Both teams are disappointing three and
four and of course all eyes on Amari Cooper to
see if he is worth that first round pick. The

(27:40):
Dallas gape up. All right, Dev thanks a lot, bet,

gotta ask you a question. I gotta ask you a
questions the our couple just because one's a red bone
and one that's one that's one of the one of them,

(28:24):
that's one of the many, no doubt about it. We
wanted to put that in. And you know, I mean
light skinned brothers over the years catch flak. I'm sure
you were. You cast some flat too, But we're taking
over now. The basketball we like, I'm like, dang everybody
to come out and trade young ball stop all right, Rod,

(28:47):
but let let we we. I don't know if you
heard any of this earlier, we've been talking about, you know,
Aaron Rodgers versus Time Brady. We're not even talking about
the goal, not the goal conversation, the accomplishments. Just don't
put Rodgers in that discussion. But Rob is just saying
the best he's ever seen at the position. And I've
been with that view for a while that Rogers has

(29:08):
done it better than anybody we've seen. But I said, look,
physical gifts, tools, all that. Yes, Rogers has Brady beaten everything.
But I just I feel like now I just have
to admit, you know what, Tom Brady is the better
quarterback because his intangibles are off the charts. He's a winner.

(29:30):
I'm not saying Rogers doesn't have good intangils, but he
doesn't have close to the level that Brady does. I
thought that was what made Montana so great too. Where
do you stand on Brady Rogers in this discussion. Well,
let's let me say this. So, when I look at
players in general, you know, because it's an ultimate team sport,

(29:51):
and you know, especially when we're talking about quarterbacks, quarterbacks
one of those sports, one of those positions in football,
and really it's the only position in football that has
a win loss record with the position at the quarterback.
That's how we're doing. And so we so we give
them too much credit when they win, we give them
too much blame when they lose. Now, with that all

(30:14):
being said, you know, when I look at quarterbacks in
my time mcframa playing, So let me go back to
when I first played. When I look at I played
against Joe Montana, I played against John Elway, I played
against Kelly, I played against uh Tech. Who else was
out there? The U fouts I played against. I didn't

(30:38):
old United fouts look at you up, you know, but
I played against multiple Hall of Fame quarterbacks and the
best quarterback that I played against pure quarterback position is
Dan Marino. And Danny had all the he had everything

(30:58):
that you want as a quarterback. He's just never won
the title. And when I look at today's players, you know,
you can say, and if in the way I look
at it, if if you put Aaron Rodgers in the
same system that Tom Brady has played in, I he
wins five he wins five rings also, and then you're

(31:20):
everybody's saying he's the best quarterback ever to play. I
still think Aaron Rodgers can play. Tom Brady is also
also can play. They're all gonna be Hollis, They're both
those guys are gonna be Hall of Famers when they're done.
We all know that, all right. But the intangibles, dude,
because I think that's I agree. I mean, Rodgers would
throw for far more yards and all that with Belichick.

(31:42):
But I just I'm really just saying, I just think
Brady's got that leadership that he galvanizes his teammates. And
you know, I think to a degree that Rogers there's
a masterick to that one. Yeah, there are that that
that they had, the they had the other team's defensive signals.
I mean, they have had some issues as a franchise.

(32:03):
Let's just admit it. Rod if you were starting a team.
You got the job as GM, and you could pick
one of those two to be your your franchise quarterback.
That's about coming out of college. Who would who would
you pick? Wait? Wait wait, coming out and coming out
of college, you would of course you would have picked No,
I'm talking about knowing knowing everything you know about both

(32:23):
of them right now, right here, knowing everything, I would
I would pick Aaron Run Yes, sir, that's what I'm
talking about. This is the reason I would pick. Yeah,
you're talking about a Hall of Fame football man his week.
But this is the why. This is why when you
watch when you watch Tom Brady whatever, his little podcast
he had about, you know, basically holding off the U

(32:46):
you know, old age and football. Yeah, he was going
through all those like regiments of twisting and turning and
twisting Attorney because he's not naturally gifted, so he has
to overcompensate. When you watch Rogers throw that is, he
wakes up out of the bed and he can throw
a bullet like that on the run. He just naturally gifted. Now,

(33:07):
the differences, and I know what you're saying is that
some of the intangibles of how he works inside of
the game how Tom works inside of me. But both
quarterbacks are like that. You can't. You're not going to
show a defense that they haven't seen. You're not going
to only confuse their guys. And the one thing that
the New Orleans Saints, excuse me, the New Yon Patriots

(33:30):
offense does for Tom is that they work underneath so well,
and they work levels so well. So Tom reads it
really quick, and he knows where he's gonna throw, he
throws it. And one thing that the one thing that
Rogers wants to do. He likes taking shots. He loves
going down on the field. So he holds it. He
holds it, He holds it sometimes to his detriment. He
holds it where you know, I really would believe that

(33:53):
Tom Brady's the only quarterback playing today that can take
five yard checkdowns all the way down the field and
be And who'd be comfortable with that? Most quarterbacks can't
do that? Right, Hey, tonight the Cowboys playing Monday Night Football.
Amari Cooper is ready to suit up for the Cowboys.
Is this going to help Dak Prescott by having him?

(34:15):
And will we maybe see a change. A lot of
people aren't that high on Dak and is it that
he doesn't have weapons or is he just not that
good of a quarterback. Well, you know, I think Dak
is who he is. I think is a Mark Hoop
for worth the one. I think he's worked the one.
I don't know if he's gonna be worth the one
this year. I don't know if I don't know if

(34:36):
Dak is going to be that guy that can take
his game to the next level because he has a
Pro Bowl quarterback or excusing me, a Pro Bowl wide
receiver sitting in his mist now. I still think Dak
is a quarterback that's going to throw for one seventy five,
maybe two hundred, maybe two twenty five, high two fifties.
Every blue moon, he'll throw for a three hundred. I

(34:57):
think that's who he is, and I think he needs
to embrace that. And you can win a lot of
football games with that because you got a good running game,
he got one of the best running backs in football,
and you have a defense this year that is playing
really good, lights out football. So with that formula, there
is possibly to win a lot of games. I don't

(35:19):
know if you're going to see a big difference in
Dak because I don't think Dak is that type of
quarterback to make a Maria a better player. I think
a Maria helped him out in some capacity. Because Amari
can't get open, he can create some separation from dB.
So hopefully somewhere along the line he can find some
you can find him down the field and take that
pressure off the running game. All right, rod thanks a

(35:41):
lot man. You may Rob you know that, you know
what you know. He's a Hall of Famer, he knows
the deal, he knows football. You Shannon Sharp, Greg Jennings,
I respect you guys. Opinions. You guys all picked Aaron Rodgers,
and I just I'm not saying that Brady's not a
great quarterback. I just think Aaron Rodgers is the best

(36:03):
quarterback I've ever watched in my fifty four years on
this planet. I saw Dan Marino, and you know what
do you think you think Marino? You would take Marino
Marino over Rodgers just what you saw. Dan Marino was
a great quarterback. I get it. You know why? You
know why I would take Danny because Danny remember this,
Danny threw for five thousand yards when it was unhand
the day, right, Dann Marino with throw fourth sixty five

(36:27):
hundred seven thousand yards. Oh yeah, that that was the
equivalent of what he did, no doubt about it. All Right, Rid,
thanks a lot man. We'll talk to you next week.
All right, I'll talk to you guys. All right, appreciate it.
Keep playing with fire, You're gonna get burned. I'll explain next.

Chris Brussar and Rob Parker and Rob Floyd Mayweather. There
was talk a few months ago that he was gonna
maybe not even a few months ago, maybe a month ago,
a few weeks ago, that he was gonna fight Manny Pacyaw,
then there was talk that he'd fight Kebabe, and now
he just announced that he is going to be fighting

(37:54):
a an MMA fighter from Japan who is twenty seven
excuse me, twenty seven to old as a kickboxer and
four and old in MMA. But they're gonna fight on
New Year's Eve with the Rising Uh it's the Rising

(38:16):
Fighting League. I don't even it was rising. Uh? What's
the official name? Rising Fighting Federation? Can I tell you what?
Do you have any you have any interest in this?
First of all, it's just a yend grab. That's what
it is. It's a yend grab, right, Okay, That's all
it is. That's what he's about. He turned into just

(38:37):
anybody who's willing to give him money. He'll just go
and do whatever he has to do, and that's fine.
I have no interest in it. I mean I have.
I would watch him fight Kulbib, even though Kabee wouldn't
stay in the chance in a boxing match. I will
watch him fight Pakou, even though I think he beat
Pakiau at this point, pack how's old. But this, first

(38:58):
of all, this dude is one hundred twenty five pounds,
He's like a featherweight. And Floyd's fought at one forty seven,
fought Connor McGregor at one fifty four. So Floyd is setting.
And if Floyd has become an exhibitionist where he's not
interested in real sporting competition, because if he were, he'd

(39:19):
be talking about Aero Spence Junior, Terence Crawford, and he
knows and smartly. If I look, if I were Floyd,
I would and I could make two hundred million dollars
fighting somebody who has virtually no chance to beat me.

(39:39):
I would do it too, So I'm not mad at him.
But he's not in sporting competition anymore. But she isn't
making money and exhibitions. It's not him, shame on the
people continue to buy tickets and why that's why you
get that you get you're gonna get the crap that
you keep paying for. So once you say no to
him and stop doing it, then he'll get the message.

(40:03):
Nobody's interested in that. People are so bored in their
lives and there's nothing else going on. Chris, I'm serious.
He's a master market, that's what he is. He knows
there's nothing going on all right. Here we go like
New Year's Eve, people are at home, people are having
New Year's Eve parties. They'll they'll buy the fight. There's
nothing else going on, so let's just do it, Dick Clark,

(40:28):
but New Years or something, you know, guy, half, its
just it's just the money grab, a yen grab, whatever
you want to call it. That's what it is, and
it's pathetic. It's just that's that's why I think that
every time, like a snake. Every time I hear like,

(40:50):
you know, he's coming up with this the other idea
for something. The rules haven't been set, so I don't
it's not just going to be boxing. I don't think
they'll be kicking, because this guy would probably land a
kick and knock Floyd out or something. But I think
it'll be maybe MMA gloves and some type of MMA rules,

(41:12):
just because a straight up boxing match would just be
a joke, especially with this guy being so much smaller
than Floyd. So I don't know it's gonna be interesting,
but I'm with you. I have No, interesting, You're not
really in the combat sports anyway. I cover boxing for
the Free Press. I used to do all the big
fights for two years, so you know, yeah, but this
isn't about a big fight. But it's the I Couple

rate quote. And Rob, we talked already about Green Bay
versus New England last night, but another huge game you
may have had the two best teams in the league
face off. The LA Rams, who had been undefeated, were
taken down by Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints

(42:18):
not shot forty five thirty five. You picked that game,
and uh, I just thought that the Rams they would due,
They were due. They almost lost to the Packers. They
looked like they were. But that game now was like
my sawn. That it was just about to happen. It
was probably good for the Rams, you know, I think,
I mean even though they had had some close calls,

(42:39):
because they weren't gonna be undefeated, they were gonna lose
to somebody. You rebably you would think they're gonna lose
another game or two, two or three three somewhere around there. Well,
let's bring in the Saints radio color analysts, super Bowl champion,
two time Pro Bowl running back Deuce McAllister. Do welcome

(43:00):
to the Eye couple. Appreciate it? How you guys doing great? Great?
And I'm gonna ask you, I know you you call
games for the Saints, but your unbiased opinion on he's
a Homer, he played there, What do you want from them?
I know, try to turn all of that off. Are
they the best team in the NFL right now? Um,

(43:21):
outside of percentage points for record wise? I think you
would have to say yes, correct right now? I mean
you you're looking at it right now judging off of
record wise, not a percentage point. Yeah, not gonna buy
a record, but just what you see, you know, you
see the Chiefs got one. The question it comes, how
do you want to quantify this question? No? Just really

(43:42):
just do you think what you see offensively, defensively and
it ultimately it doesn't matter because they got finished the
Super Bowl. But right now, do you think they are
the best team in the NFL? Yes? And what's the
best what's the best part of them? Yeah? What? What?
What do you like the most about the Saint Well,
I think it's the balance that they have and how

(44:03):
they can win games. Whether you're talking about running the
football or getting into a shootout, they're comfortable in doing
so either way. I mean, the one thing that you
can go and look at this team, the only thing
that you can really say that knocks them in the
negative manner is they give up big plays. They've given
up big plays as far as multiple plays over the
top to the receivers. But outside of that, you tell

(44:24):
me where they're not a balanced team or you see
a deficiency in that unit. Tell me about Drew Brees.
Why is he never mentioned in the conversation when we
talk about great quarterbacks. I mean, you know the debate,
it's it's the multiple quarters. I mean, it's the multiple
Super Bowls. I mean, I think that's the only thing
that you can hold against him at this point is
he hasn't won multiple Super Bowls, And I mean, until

(44:47):
you really do that, I think you're you're gonna always say, well,
he was always throwing for this amount of yards because
they were behind or the defense were they were not great.
I mean, but outside of that, you don't have much
of an argument to hold up. No, but if if
if I would have put him up against Aaron Rodgers,
they both won, Soup won Super Bowl, and you could

(45:08):
pick I know you, you know you're a Saints guy.
But if you could pick one guy to start your franchise,
Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers, who would it be? Am
I going with Drew Brees at two thousand and seven?
Or am I using you know Aaron Rodgers? I mean,
so it's hard to be able to everything that you
know about both guys, just everything you know is not
out of college, just what you know? Who would you pick?

(45:33):
I would probably pick Drew Brees? Okay, yeah, I'm glad
you brought up two thousand and seven Drew Brees. Dude,
you obviously played with him. What difference do you see
from when you the Drew Brees you played with versus
the one now he's still playing at a high level,
I mean, and his understanding of the game, his understanding
of the defense, and where he wants to go with

(45:54):
the football. I think it's you know, it's it's it's
night and day, and so there's not a lot of
things that teams are giving him that he doesn't understand
where he wants to go with the football, what he
wants to do with the football. Now, it's still a
question of whether or not he's going to be able
to complete it. But understanding and knowing where he wants
to go and being able to place the ball there,
he's just as he's playing, you know, as well as

(46:16):
any any quarterback in the NFL. It's the odd couple
on Fox Sports Radio, I guess Deuce McAlister, super Bowl champion,
two time Pro Bowl running back and current Saints radio
color analysts last I know, last years last year and
it happened, and it looked like they were on their
way to the NFC Championship game and it didn't happen.

(46:38):
How much is that put behind them considering the kind
of year that they've been able to bounce back to.
I think it gave him a little fuel to the
fire during the offseason, But Outside of that, they know
that they have to be able to step in and
play each week. It was something to work for, or
at least to motivate you to try to achieve and
get to a point. I mean, but outside of that,

(46:59):
you still have to go out and play it. And
then you know, they didn't play as well against Tampa
Bay in that first week, but you know they've they've
showed up every week since, and you know you've been
able to l off seven and seven games in a
row since. Then, deuce what you think of Michael Thomas's
Joe Horn impersonation and what do Saints think of it? Too? Well,

(47:19):
you have some people that were not very pleased of it.
For me personally, they look, you know, it wasn't it
wasn't something that I would have done, but for me,
for him to go out and do it. They were
up ten points, I mean that worst. Okay, they hadn't
kicked the extra point. They were up nine points and
the two score game under four minutes to go. They look,
go have fun. You know, you know that there's going
to be a penalty. You're gonna have to deal with

(47:41):
Sean Payton on the sideline, So be it. You know,
but at the end of the day, it wasn't a
one score game where they could go back down and
take the lead that next drive. So if you're gonna
have fun, go have fun. I was. I was all
for you. Just can't make it something where you're putting
the team in a negative situation every time that you
go and score. When you take a look at the

(48:03):
NFC landscape, who which team or teams provide the biggest
obstacle do you think as the Saints move forward, Well,
Carolina is gonna be a problem. Carolina is going to
be a problem in atlanta'n't did yet either. I mean,
I know that a lot of people may have written
them off, but they can always put up points. So

(48:24):
they're always going to be a problem. Those those two
teams will. It's going to come now to December. How
you're playing in December. So even though the Saints right
now are seven and one, nothing is written in stone
for this team to be able to advance all the
way to the NFC Championship Game or have home field
advantage because you still have two matchups with the Banters

(48:45):
in December in a three week span. Deuce Rob brought
up the way last season ended with the Vikings game
in the playoffs. How much did that really motivate these
guys like coming into this season, it was something that
they could really rally on during the off season. But
you know, it's a different squad. You have, you know,

(49:07):
two two added pieces, particularly on that defensive side, you have.
You know, there was twenty one guys that were on
injured reserve. No all twenty one didn't sign back or
were brought back to the squad, but they got the
majority of those guys back. So it's it's really a
different squad from what you had when you know that
that play happened up in Minnesota, but it was something

(49:28):
for them to at least motivate them. This is how
well I need to play or I need to let
raise my level even higher to you know, so this
doesn't happen again. What what one weakness would you say
the Saints have? Could they see they got? They got everything?
Is the one thing that you say that can come
back to bite them. It's gonna be past defense and
then they've got to you know, hopefully they can get

(49:49):
tick in junior Backum. He is the one player that
can take the top off of the defense. I don't
know how many teams really fear them going up top
consistently with a vertical thread. So if they can get
Tick and Junior back from ir that that's going to
help them. And then being able to give up the
explosive plays on defense, you know, you can't have that

(50:09):
in the NFL, and at some point that's going to
really bite them again. It did. It did hurt them
against Tampa Bay in that first game. All right, Deuce,
well you appreciate the time. Thanks a lot for joining
the Eye couple. No problem, thank you, guys. All right, yep, yeah,
I mean, look he said it. They're the best team
in the NFL right now, and I they certainly have

(50:32):
a strong argument. You obviously have to put them ahead
of the Raiders if they the Raiders gave up for
I love what they do. The Raiders had been early
on the most ballanced team in the league and offense defense,
but they put forty five on, no doubt about it.
And and help me, Rob, maybe you could check this
out for me, I think so. Remember they were all
gonna lose to the Browns? Yeah, yeah, which really turned

(50:56):
their seat? Was that? Was that? Right? Was it? The Browns?
And then they won that game and then that that
turned everything around for them. Wow, I wish we had
just got this this breaking news before after we let
Deuce McAlister go. Jane Slater is reporting that the Saints
will be working out Daz Bryant tomorrow. What do you

(51:18):
think about that? It's not too late to add to help. No,
and it's a position where I mean he would have
to come in and be a good soldier. Well at
this point, I think he needs a job. And if
he wants to work next year, you don't want to
have the right things, do all the right things, say
all the right things helped him win. What if he

(51:39):
comes on and helps them win good to a couple
of big touchdowns which they win the super Bowl or something,
then he's back on top, right, and then you got
an idea where people will be like, man, Daz helped
him win the Super Bowl. Man, maybe he can help
us in a full time role or you know what
I mean. You know, it's a great opportunity to be
on a good team. There are some places I wouldn't

(52:01):
like it, um, but New Orleans has with Drew Brees
being such a strong Yeah, and you know, veterans, and
they don't need him where if he if we were
to act up, they could probably cut him, you know,
in a second. And so hey, like if he's going
to Cleveland, where you might be trying to get yours
because you're not winning, you know what, quarterback right Cleveland

(52:26):
brees ears telling him throw me the ball and all that.
So you know, hey, it's a tryout and see if
he see if he looks good, and give it a try. Now,
speaking of receivers, of course, Amari Cooper and and the Cowboys. Yeah,
he's making his Cowboys debut tonight on Monday Night Football.
They played the Tennessee Titans. What do you expect Like

(52:47):
a big part of bringing in Cooper, I believe it's
really for the Cowboys to help in their evaluation of
Dak Prescott. They have to figure out if this is
their franchise quarterback going forward, and so they brought in
a capable receiver, a guy that's been a two time
Pro Bowler. I know he's dipped the last couple of years,

(53:07):
but he's still young. He's only think he's still capable
of doing some things. Find Out what Dad can do
with a guy like this. Yeah, This is really you
know what's so funny is it's more about Dak than
it is Cooper. Right. It really is like the focus
and how people are going to watch this Chris to say, okay,

(53:28):
Dak saying he doesn't have anybody, so he's limited to
what he could do. People are looking at it, and
you heard Rod Woodson, those were one hundred and seventy five,
maybe two hundred yards. They don't expect any kind of
numbers from him, so and people look at him more
as a game manager. This is the reason why. And
Jerry Jones is wrong a lot, but why he was

(53:49):
so skeptical even when he was winning that first year
and they were thirteen and three, and why he held
on the Tony Romo. You remember, he just wouldn't let
it go because I'm not sure he really believed in
that kid, to be honest, And this will be interesting
because eventually they're gonna have to pay that well and
they want to know is he worth is worth it?

(54:09):
And right now, I was a guy that liked that
his rookie year. I thought he you know, was legitimately
in the MVP conversation. But I agree with Rod Woodson.
Now he that's what he is. He's a game manager
now who who can run, So he's capable of making
some big you know, most game managers don't run, so

(54:32):
he can run off a big play here or there.
But he is a guy that's gonna throw for about
two hundred and every blue moon three hundred. But I
don't know if that's good enough. Like he's not like
Cam Newton's not throwing for a ton of yards. But
this that's not Cam Newton. You know, Cam is far
more explosive in terms of I gotta be honest, I'm

(55:02):
watching this closely, this like everybody else to see what
Dac is. But I really don't think he's I think
I would lean toward him not be in the franchise quarter.
And it'll be interesting because if it doesn't work out,
and say Cooper doesn't make it because the Cowboys, what
are they averaging sixteen points a game or something a
small number, very low, very very small number, and that

(55:25):
can that can make a difference. Uh if all of
a sudden they light it up, or he's got guys
to throw too, and U and people look and say
he finally he needed a weapon and he got one
right all right. I don't think this went down rib
the way we thought it would. We'll explain next. It's

buy a new or even a used car, visit Truecar
to enjoy a more confident car buying experience. Rob Parker,
we have talked before about Levian bell I feel confident
in saying that we both would like to see him
get paid, but his replacement, James Connor is tearing the

(56:57):
NFL up weapon, and I mean he's he's being more
productive than Leveon Bell ever has. He's on pace to
rush for fourteen hundred and twelve yards that would be
higher than Levian Bell's career high. He's on pace to

(57:22):
score twenty touchdowns. Levion's career high is eleven. He has already.
He leaves the NFL in rushes of twenty yards or
more with eight. Levian had three all of last year.
He's averaging four point seven yards a carry. Levion average

(57:43):
four point zero. Last year. He's averaging ten yards per reception.
Levian was below eight. And when you hear the Pittsburgh
Steelers now they've moved on. We got a few players
that gave quotes and here's coach Mike Tomlin and what
he had to say about Levion Bell. You know, we

(58:04):
hadn't spent a lot of time focused on it because
it's not within our control those decisions of Levion's. We
need volunteers, not hostages. So we're focused on the guys
that are here and working, and James is definitely in
that mix. That's just how football is. That That's why
I wouldn't I would never it's a it's a mob
mentality with football. Either you're for us or against us.

(58:26):
They turned on their own brothers. That's why that's why
they get worked over by ownership all the time, because
the football mentality is what you're seeing here, and I
get it. I'm glad that Levion did what he was
going to do from an original I argue with you
before when that thing said he was coming back, remember that.

(58:49):
I never believe that Chris did not tell you because
I said he should fire his agent then, because you
should have never if you were coming back early, you
should have never gone out right. What's the different isn't
coming back by November thirteen? She has to credit for
this credit for the year. But I'm talking about coming
back early before. If you're going to do that, and

(59:09):
he didn't come back, which made sense, he'll be back
in order to get credit for his year, and then
he'll go sign with some other team. That's fine. And
you know what, if I'm Levan Bell, you you roll
the dice. You decided to fight for what you believe in.
You've seen other guys not get paid. They went out
and paid a lot of guys money last year running backs.

(59:31):
They didn't want to pay him. They've done this thing.
I think to him, he made a mistake. He's lost
eight million dollars't matter, and he's gonna get not going
to get Ti Gurley money. He's gonna get paid and
we gotta wings better I get he's gonna get more
than time. Yeah, there's no way, there's no getting more
than number one. He has had problems. Ti Gurley hasn't

(59:52):
with drug suspensions and he's even had a couple injuries.
Now about everybody smokes. In the case everybody smokes, we
has lost games for it. If we get it, If
we did, we test at the station, put on the radio,
no matter if somebody getting called and somebody not. I'm
just telling gotting called a couple of times, but that's
what I'm just telling you. But that's not going to

(01:00:13):
stop somebody from signing them. Look, I would love to
have Levion Bell on my team, but not a Tie
Gurley money. If the Levion Bell is gonna be twenty
seven by the time next season, Stlex Rob g can
we get urine? We need urine because we're gonna check
everybody at the station and see how they're doing on
their weed. Levian Bell is gonna be twenty seven years

(01:00:37):
old when he starts next time. I was a lot.
You know the year the age that running backs begin
to decline, twenty nine, and Levion his might be early
because no, he's gonna has such a hard, a big
workload throughout it this time off as just redated. No, no no, no,
it is. I mean how many there are so many

(01:00:58):
running backs like it's like the Aaron Rodgers thing. He's
gonna be able to play a running back? No, no no, no,
I'm talking about because he said on the bench three
and a half years. So he's saying he's not as old.
He's not as old playing wise as his age, is
what I'm saying, because he's sat No, no, no, I'm
just saying Aaron Rodgers is the same way when you
take a year off, your body gets the heel. I

(01:01:20):
get probably feeling better than he's felt in a long time.
But that doesn't mean that we'll see how it plays out.
I also think people can look at this because here's
the thing again, I would love to have Levan ball.
I hope Green Bay goes after him. I hope you
know some of these other teams that are running back
away from being special. Go after him and get him.

(01:01:45):
But I'm not paying Todd Gurley money for a guy
that has had his workload the past several years. Is
twenty seven years old, he's young. He's a young twenty
seven how I mean? And I watch a guy in
his second year that nobody expected a lot from come

(01:02:05):
in and perform better than Levian did with the same
offensive line. But like you can get running backs, I
don't want to say they're a dime a dozen. So
then that's why the Giants shouldn't have taken Uh, they
shouldn't have taken sa Kwan Barkley because he's having a
great year, but he'd probably beat So that's why I'm saying.

(01:02:29):
So why in the world would I pay Levian Bell
because that money when it's not gonna translate in the wins,
Because you paid Todd Gurley. And who was the other
running back Todd Gurley if he had played on the
franchise tag for fourteen and a half million, he would
have been the highest paid running back this year by

(01:02:49):
far the shot, but they by far. But they should
have also given him a deal considering what he's done
and accomplished for up until this point, knowing that the
shelf life of running back because Chris the same thing
you're saying, it would be nice, that would have been nice.
Yeah they didn't. This is a business and they didn't
do what's nice. So you think somebody else is gonna

(01:03:11):
give him on his Money's healthy to be nice, healthy healthy.
Let's see when he comes back, and he's gonna be rusty.
When he came back last year, he was rusty. So
when he comes back this year, I would think he's
gonna help them at some point. But he's gonna be
backing up James Connor and there's gonna be times where
he doesn't look He's probably not gonna look good in media.

(01:03:32):
There will be a team that needs a running back
up his quality and they offer him a good deal,
but not Tied Gurley money. Why would a team offer
him Tied Gurley money. He's older, he's got a lot
more wear and tear, and I just watch his backup
play better than he with the same OFFICI backup has
nothing to do with him, No, but it showed. But

(01:03:55):
you don't know, Murray. One year does not make you, Chris.
It's not even as well as it's not says he's
playing as well as he's playing, it's not gonna get
him some long term deal because while he had a
great first year, not talking about I was just saying
it makes you think, if I don't have the Pittsburgh

(01:04:15):
Steelers offensive line, is Levian Bell gonna be as productive
as he was in Pittsburgh. His record speaks for itself.
Every yards a carry, last, that's not lighting the world
on fire. But that's why he would have been the
highest on that franchise tag, is that he is worth that.
That's what his value was. They didn't give him a
franchise tag to make him to buy far running highest

(01:04:38):
paid running back for no reason. So that's why I
think he'll be just fine. Don't worry about him. He'll
get paid, he'll come back, he'll get credited for the year,
and then the Stealers will have a decision to make.
That's all, and if not, he'll go somewhere else. I
applaud somebody standing up for themselves and not being taken
advantage of. And that's what the NFL does. It's a

(01:04:59):
bad aber deal that the you that, but he did
what he had cost himself eight millions. Explaining the financials
make it up. If Levion beld is not reporting until
November thirteenth, which is the last day, Yeah, that's what
he's looking like. He will have lost over eight and
a half million dollar salary this season. Now, before the year,

(01:05:20):
he was offered an extension with the Steelers that included
thirty three million dollars in guarantee. Was that because I
thought I thought it was. It wasn't ten million in guarantees.
It was thirty for thirty three million, which is the
equivalent of the franchise tag, basically what he would have
been getting. So for his next deal, for it to
even be worth his while, he has to get over

(01:05:41):
forty one million dollars in guarantees. Got forty five. Do
you think that Levion's gonna get that? Forty one gives
fifty how because it's because people said, yourself, it's a
running back. That's not changing my fortune. But it's a
difference of a team that looks at where they are

(01:06:02):
and what it is exactly that they need. They'll be
any They're not gonna be able to give him that
type of money He'll be They'll be a team that
will have money to cut other people amake. Most of
the teams that that he could change that has plenty
of money to New York Jetropolitans have plenty of money.
Prudent's giving him that type of The Jets have a
lot of money. That's the Jets would be a good
Jets have a lot of money, but take the pressure

(01:06:25):
off the rookie quarterback. He would be a perfect fit
for the Jets. I'm telling you, that's a team that
might take it out. Gee how much money they have
available next year? They have money for God, that's a
team that makes sense because yeah, they could definitely and
then they would be in the AFC. Right, he could
come back to bite the Steelers as no way I

(01:06:47):
give him that type of money. Not have one hundred
and nine millions, not at twenty seven years old. And
I want to see what he does. Like like I'm
watching him when he does come back. I want to
see some fire. I want to see some explosion. We
have seen several running back heck Chris Johnson, who just
announced his retirement today, he had some tremendous years, but eventually,

(01:07:13):
you you sputter out around the age of twenty eight
twenty nine. That's why you gotta get paid before that.
I get it. But I'm just saying, if I'm a team,
my job is not to be nice. Now I wish
the Steelers they had paid him, but I'm just saying,
this is a business and it's not about what's nice
and what's fair and what you did in the pack

(01:07:34):
get all that, you know, that's all. I respect people
who have a self worth and are willing to fight
for most people, most people are sheep and lambs and
they and you know what they do. All they do
is follow the crowd. They let people push him around.
They let people take advantage of billion dollars. Isn't getting
past you getta take an advantage of It's not. That's

(01:07:57):
why I ask Isaiah Thomas the next time you get
a chance to talk to him, if he did the
right thing by coming out and playing with an injury
just because he wanted to help the Celtics. Did the
Celtics help him? He wanted to play with you to play?
He didn't. He wanted to play. Every cost money to
pay cost some money. Yo, he can crushed it crushed him.

(01:08:17):
But that's a whole different situation than this, and that's
what the Steelers would be saying if if Levion played
this year and got hurt oop, sorry, the franchise tag,
you would they wouldn't give him jack. No, they wouldn't care.
And that's what I'm that's the business you're dealing with.
I understand that failing with dogs you gotta fight for.
Every other team is gonna feel the same way. I'm

(01:08:39):
with you on the CBA, but right now they can't
do anything about the CBA. That franchise tag is horrendous.
I am all about Levion bell Man. Fight for what
you believe. But what if he doesn't get it? We'll
see what if he's lost eight half a million dollars
that he's not getting back. He'll make it up. I
can get. There's so many running backs I can get
for cheap. He just has to do two hundred. Your

(01:09:00):
card shows. He'll make up the ABI. All right, you're laughing,
but I'm hoping the dude gets his money. You know,
I'm with you. I want to get when the players
are in a terrible situation with the I want you
to mark this showdown. Mark this showdown. So when Leveon
signs his record breaking contract with the New York Jet,

(01:09:20):
breaking with the New York Getropolitans me and you will
revisit this, and I'll tell you all along he was
gonna get packed. Now the Jets make sense. The Jet
we're betting some wings. Jets might be the team. But
I'm telling you, I looking at the way football is
looking at how running backs come out. You know, nobody

(01:09:41):
expected this from James Connor. You can get running backs
in a lot of places, especially if you have a
good offensive line, and Connor has proven that. And there
I think are gonna be teams that, especially with Levion's workload.
And he's valuable, Don't get me wrong, He's tremendous, but
they're gonna say that offensive line had a lot to

(01:10:02):
do with it. And I think Connor's production is hurt
and Levion in free agency, but we'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong,
because I'd like to see him get paid. Let's bring
in Dab Carson for what's trendy, Hey, jents, Monday night
football actually going on. Dallas had the ball first, Bret
Maher missed a thirty eight yard field goal. Look like

(01:10:24):
Marcus Mariotto was going to drive the Titans down the field,
but DeMarcus Lawrence forced to fumble, Dallas recovered on the
Tennessee fifteen, and Maury Cooper has logged his first touchdown
as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, a four yard
touchdown reception, Dallas up seven nothing over the Titans, six
to go in the first quarter. Now, as you mentioned,

(01:10:45):
former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant one of three receivers reportedly
going to be working out for the Saints on Tuesday
that according to NFL media's Jane Slater, she didn't name
the other two, but Bengals receiver aj Green, out at
least two games with a toe injury, won't need surgery though.
According to ESPN, running back Levion Bell tweeted today quote

(01:11:05):
farewell Miami end quote possibly a signal tour returning to
the Steelers. He has until November thirteenth to sign his friends,
otherwise he's not going to be allowed to play this season.
And finally taking a look ahead at week eleven, the
NFL has already flexed out of the Steelers Jaguars game
from Sunday Night Football, replacing at the Steelers and Jags

(01:11:26):
with the Vikings Bears game in Chicago. So that's now
going to be in that prime time spot. So what
does it mean when Geico says just fifteen minutes can

Will it probably means you should have gone to Geico

um when when Indiana got the Oladipo and he's turned

(01:12:08):
out to blossom, He blossoms. He's been better than Paul
George there. Well, sometimes people just needed a fresh starter,
a different environment or a different system sometimes, he think, right. Yeah,

two have been covering sports for nearly three decades, apiece,
I will say this. Let's put the big Jay journalists
to the test. Its sources say, I hate to say this,
this is so pass say this game, but let's play anyway.
I mean, this is the one game that Rob Parker
dominates on this show. Dominate. I won like seventeen straight weeks.

(01:14:27):
So you didn't stop you. You've won like the last
three or four? Are you a Christian man? What is
you're gonna say that on the radio? Rob g What
was it was not seventeen weekfteen fourteens? I like that.
It was like a blitzkrieg. So so now you're still behind.
So now you're on a little roll. You're in a run.
Were watching NBA games. Everybody makes a run. You're making

(01:14:49):
your run, but you still way behind, a way behind.
Now for all our listeners, sources say, Fox Sports trade
of the couple, chrisp we saw Rob Parker. They have
one hundred and ninety six combined years of journalism experience.
We like seventy six of Rob park We like to
put it to the test to see if they can
tell the difference between a good source and a bad source.
Here on Fox Sports Radio. Story number one, gentlemen, my

(01:15:14):
sources say that Buffalo Bills fans through three sex toys
on the field during last week's primetime game against the Patriots. Chris,
and my source is good. I'm going to go with true. Three. Wow. Unfortunately,

(01:15:38):
some people picked them up. Probably it took them all. Oh,
all right, I'm gonna say shot. Stop saying that is
not a drum roll, All right, I'm gonna say false. Oh,
that is absolutely true. And the security guard stick him out.

(01:16:00):
How do you know it was three? It could have
been more. They could have been more. Story number two,
My sources say that the head football coach of East
Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania called the fourth time out that
they didn't have in the middle of a game just
so he could tell the players that he was retiring. Robin,
my source is good. A fourth time out so that

(01:16:23):
he could tell them he retired. Wow, it sounds so ridiculous.
I'll say true. I'm with Rob. That just sounds how
your brain could make something like that up. It Maybe
it was a fifth time out or something like that.
But I'm gonna say true, Oh, that is absolutely true.
I know where that school is. I worked in Wilkesburg, Pennsylvania.

(01:16:46):
In order when you drive from Georgy YEA on eighty West,
Yeah right, yep, ye over the Delaware Water Gap. Yep,
that's right. Sources say the old couple of Fox Sports
Radio Chris a head two to one. My verses say
that Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown celebrated Halloween last week
by going trick or treating dressed as himself in full

(01:17:08):
Steelers uniform. Chris, and my source is good a B
sounds like something he would do. But I'm gonna say, boss, yeah,
I think that's false. To a full uniform. I just
how tacky is that false? It was juju? I was

(01:17:34):
hoping you. I'm not biting on that one. See. Chris
got so tired of lose he started doing his own research.
Yes see, that's what he's doing now to try to
get how juju? How'd that go for him? I just
saw the headline. I know he got some canny a
little bag, he got some juju beans? Right, he might have.
What was he doing? Trick or treating? Anyway? My goodness,
twenty something years old. Story number four, My sources say

(01:17:56):
that former NFL quarterback Chris Sims revealed an interview this
week that he got hit in the groin so hard
by Vince Wilfork during a game that his genitals turned
shades of purple and yellow the next day. Robin the
source is good. That's a painful subject, right just thinking

(01:18:16):
about it, feel sick. Some of those guys don't wear
it cups? How do you play football without a cup?
I don't even understand that. I don't know. I say
that that's true? Yeah, I do think that's true. Oh
we got a Taiwan four to three sources say the

(01:18:37):
our couple of Fox Sports Radio putting the Big Jay
journalists of the test. Story number five, My sources say
that a man from Kentucky has been arrested after he
drunkenly stole a horse from the paddocks at Churchill Downs
and attempted to write it onto the track at the
Breeders Cup Christmas. Source is good. Um, I am going

(01:19:03):
to say that is boss. I think that's false. Two, Dan,
what as I thought? I was tempted to go with
you don't matter because you went with false too. So
what I don't understand is how you guys aren't even
shocked by these stories anymore. Like, yeah, I got could

(01:19:24):
picture a guy getting drug is still an horse? All right,
story numbers six. It's coming down to the last two here,
sources to say the acuple Fox Sports Radio. My sources
say that Darius Adams, one of the stars of the
Chinese Basketball Association, went viral this week after he hit
a game winning three and celebrated by chugging a fan's

(01:19:47):
beer in the front row. Robin with source is good true,
I do think that's true. It was another player. It
was alignment from the CF. Okay, I knew there was
some players too. Yeah, it was a fat guy touchdown

(01:20:07):
and he drank a beer. Wow, it was great. The
NFL could learned to think of too. I knew. I
knew there was some players that'll probably been doing that
in the x is the XFL, that's what's coming background
two years years? Yeah, that other league starting first, all right,
last one, This one's for all the marbles. I'm up
by one, sources say the I couple Fox Sports Radio.

(01:20:28):
Chris Bruce started up by one over Rob Parker. My
sources say Floyd Mayweather talked about him earlier. Celebrated the
announcement of his MMMA debut by parting with a group
of friends at a local club, where he dropped and
reported one hundred and ninety five thousand dollars tip. Rob Parker,

(01:20:50):
my source is good. I'm sorry as much money as
he has. One hundred and ninety five thousand dollar tip.
No way, no, how yeah, I think Floyd, uh one
hundred ninety five. I could see him spending. I bet
he dropped one hundred ninety five thousand dollars, but not
a tip. I must say false. You sit on a

(01:21:12):
throne of lies, Chris b We saw for the win.
That story was true for the Red Sox who got
one dollar tip, not Floyd. I'm taking back the crown.
It feels good. One ram nicely, but I had to
come back and take it back. If you want to Crowner.

(01:21:35):
I like to thank the Academy A lebron that's what
you get, that's what that's what you're winning. The Academy award.
Oh no, that was that was a good one. That
was a good one. Rob g Well, we got plenty
of more coming up. We got Aaron Rodgers and Tom
Brady talk. We're gonna get back into that. We haven't

(01:21:55):
talked Lebron James yet. I mean, that was a debacle
that took last night. That was embarrassing. It's totally embarrassed.
You know that their best player, Kawhi Leonards not playing
and the Raptors show up to the Staples Center just
punch you right in the mouth and take your money.
Because that's what they did. They broke a record for

(01:22:15):
the biggest first quarter deficit in Lakers. It's stradied. I mean,
that never happens, Chris, What did they really think of?
Because they won the game in Portland, which was a
good wins, they really relaxed and thought, oh we got it,
and then Kawhi's not playing, so we're good to go.
And it was a few hours after Magic Johnson gave

(01:22:36):
Luke Walton a vote of confidence and said he's gonna
remain the head coach the rest of the year unless
something drastic happens. So that kind of drastic yesterday. I'm
not saying it's time to get fired, but it was drastic.
It's the eye couple. Fox Sports Radio keeper locked. Yes, indeed,
it is the eye couple. I'm Chris Brussorry alongside my

Bruce Hard and Rob is at Rob Parker FS one
and Rob. It was billed as it was built this way,
the Battle of the Goats. Yeah, but that's that NBC
Stephen Michael Jordan got involved with it, right, But that
that really So you're saying Rogers doesn't Aaron Rodgers doesn't
belong in the goal. You read my column if you

(01:23:40):
want to take a look at what I said at
the Shadow League dot com. What I say he needs
to win two or three more Tuper Bowls to get
into that conversation. And I'm being honor. I mean, you
know I'm gonna call it the way I see it, right,
You're not in the gold conversation, all right. I believe
he's the best quarterback and nine out of ten GMS.
If you asked him, if you're the best quarterback, why

(01:24:00):
can't you be in the gold count? Because he doesn't
have enough of the other accomplishments to go with it.
He has, but why not if he's the best? Yeah,
but but there's all the circumstances with the team, and
he's not lucky as Tom Brady. Tom Brady's had a
lot of things break his way. Aaron Rodgers a perfect example.
He has seattle beat and the tight end uh muffs

(01:24:21):
the on sidekick. They get that. That's a trip to
the super Bowl. There were a couple of those where
he put up forty five points and lost. Or how
about when when David Tyree caught a ball on his helmet,
How that's a bad break too. You never give Brady
credit for that one. That wasn't a bad one made it,

(01:24:43):
but the catch still was on his helmet. It was skill,
It had no he was lar service all week. That's
what lanted that catch. You don't give Brady credit for that.
The miracle of prayer. I know all about it. You
know the power of prayer. Look, I loved Aaron Rodgers,
and I'm not pushing back on him perhaps being playing

(01:25:05):
the position better than we've ever seen Chris. Although rod
Woodson brought up a great point in Dan Marino now
had never even won one Super Bowl. Well, he was
a hell of but but he was similar to Rodgers
and that the physical tools, but he but he wasn't.
He wasn't as agile and mobile as as he drew

(01:25:26):
it a mile. There's no doubt about it. There's no
doubt throwing for five thousand miles, five thousand yards. We
got your a delta. Marles, thousand yards back in the
day would be off with me about like throwing for
sixty five hundred. I get it day well in today's game.
But here's the thing, rod Woodson, here's all people that
you respect. Rod Woodson was on the show earlier. He

(01:25:49):
said he'd pick Aaron Rodgers, uh Shannon Sharp on Undisputed
with Skipp and Shannon. He picks Aaron Rodgers even though
he won two Super Bowls with John Elway. Greg Jennings
one of our boys, a guy we we fell in
sometimes and do Undisputed together, the three of us, yes,

(01:26:09):
and we and we all get along. We all respect
each other. We love being on together. Right, He's another one.
What do he say? All three said, Aaron Rodgers, You're
the only one. I know what I'm saying, these cosical tools. Yes, no,
but but I think Tom Brady and Greg Jennings sat
in our studio last week and said the intangibles tom

(01:26:33):
Brady has over but who did he pick? Who did
he pick? If you could only pick one guy to start?
Asked him that We asked him that question, and you
don't want to remember. I'm just saying Tom Brady has.
Part of being a great quarterback is the intangient? You
want to bring up the Hall of famers in their comments,

(01:26:54):
heck Rod Woodson said the best quarterback he ever played against?
What's Dan Marino? We're not talking about. But don't mind.
I'm just saying, you want to take one comment from
Woodson and not another one that does ja Montana is

(01:27:15):
in the goat conversation. It's the same thing. I agree.
I told you, like, if we're gonna have a gold conversation,
that's that's Montana against Brady, not Aaron Rodgers. That's what
NBC did to highlight the game. They put jerseys on
goats and all that. Aaron Rodgers is not in the
Gold conversation, Aaron Rodgers said, it's not galvanize his teammates

(01:27:36):
his locker when they won the super Bowl. When they
won the Super Bowl, it was ancient. Here's how long
ago was that, two thousand and left. What you mean ancient?
You just went off on time, Brady, because he went
ten years without win in the Super Bowl. Last time
Aaron Rodgers was even in the Super Bowl was two
thousand and eleven. That was a good live Aaron Rodgers.
But I'm just saying, at some point we have to

(01:27:58):
stop making excuses. I don't love him, but I like him. Yeah,
I like him. I like him very nice. You sound
like you like him. Give us a call. Eight seven
seven ninety nine. Here's a question. Go ahead, if you
were starting a football team. Question No, yes, it's the
batter quarter. Who's the bestket water back right here, right now?

(01:28:19):
The best? People might say Drew Brees. No, it's that's
not just duce McAllister. He's a home bar. He played there.
He's a home bar. You wouldn't saying that when he
was on the line. I didn't want to be disrespectful
because he was a guest on our show. But that's
a Homer move. We like Duce, but he did have
to go you know, because then if I was saying
if I said Aaron Rodgers didn't, that tape would go

(01:28:41):
back and then it would it would be a headline.
Duce McAllister says he would pick Aaron Rodgers over du Brees,
and then he would be the same way, might get
five Might they might take his radio job like Bruce Bowen, Right,
Bruce Bowoud said something about a guy didn't even have
on a team Kawhi Leonard, and he lost his gigs

(01:29:02):
in hopes of getting terrible. Right, Well, all right, look,
here's the question who is the better quarterback? How about that? Right?
That good enough for you, Rob? Who's the better quarterback?
Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox if you want to weigh in a look,
I have stood up for Aaron Rodgers for years. I've

(01:29:25):
said he's the best I've ever last Nights Night. I
just have had to deal with the fact that Aaron
Rodgers is not winning like Tom Brady. And because Tom

(01:29:46):
Brady we can't. One of my reasons for believing that
Tom Brady is the goat is he hasn't had this
great supporting cast. He's made Wes Welker, Dion Branch, Troy Brown,
Chris Hogan, Julian Edelman. He's made all these guys look great.

(01:30:07):
The one guy he had for a long time who
was legitimately great in his own right, Rob Gronkowski. He
won a Super Bowl without him. God gets hurt and
they played better statistically this year without Grunk. Then he
had Randy Moss, all time great wide receiver for about
a year and a half and he broke all the records.

(01:30:29):
I mean, if he had I'd love to see Brady
with a legitimately great on his own wide receiver for
a few years, like Joe Montana had Jerry Rice and
out and out In fairness, Aaron Rodgers hasn't had it either,
But that's my point. Neither one of them has had

(01:30:51):
the greatest supporting cast, but one has won five Super Bowls.
And look, I like Bill Belichick, but Bill Belichick has
start it. Had seven full seasons without Tom Brady as
his quarterback. Only two of them were winning seasons. Bill
the Giants when they won the two songs and assisting,
now you get didn't have the defensive assisting. I don't

(01:31:14):
want He was a defensive quarter the stick coaching, he
was already a quarter winning. That's how he got his
head coaching job. How are you doing Cleveland? It didn't
work out and Shaw didn't They had one winning the
Brady you're right, and then when Tom Brady went to
Cleveland with that team, he would want a super Bowl.
Never know he when he first went to New England

(01:31:36):
had a good quarterback and Drew Blads. Tom Brady was
a six round draft pick for a reason nobody because
everybody didn't know what they were looking at that It's
just they did. They saw a dad bod and they
thought this guy can't play quarterback. And look, you know,
he wasn't even good Michigan. His mind is so strong,
That's my point. This guy has the mental tools and

(01:31:57):
Aaron Rodgers isn't a bad leader. Rogers has some good intangibles,
don't I'm not saying he doesn't have any of that,
or he's you know, he's mentally weak, none of that.
He's mentally strong. He plays through injury, all that, but
he doesn't have it to the level that Tom Brady does.
And Dan Marino didn't have it to the level that

(01:32:19):
Joe Montana did. Quarterbacks aren't just about physical gifts. It's
about being able to get it done when the chips
are down. That sounded cliche, but that did shout. That
did sound cliche, but it was true. And that's why

(01:32:39):
I'm saying, Man, Tom Brady, look, I gotta give him
his props. It's all there is to it, all right,
age seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's let him
a few people charming. And remember we're not talking about
whether he's the gold or not. That's not the conversation.
It's about the best quarterback? Is he right? Is he
the best? Who is the best quarterback? I've never seen

(01:33:02):
anybody play the quarterback positioning? No, I'm not, but god,
we got award, we got one bisical awards that Steph
Curry's the best shooter I've ever seen. Okay, when we're
gonna give him a prize in that, it's who's the
best player? How many how many Hall of Fame players

(01:33:24):
have to come on the radio and tell you that that, uh,
Aaron Rodgers the best quarterback. You're asking the question in
a funky way that throws them off. Daryl and Las Vegas.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up,
Daryl Man, Hey, Chris, I agree with you, man, Aaron

(01:33:45):
Rodgers is not the bad man like somebody else always
says on a different test day. Yes, we know that
guy Tom Brady is the best quarterback probably of all time. Well,
now I understand different generations, different times, different rules. Everybody
was sisted nowadays, right, but of Brady's career, you know

(01:34:08):
that was in case. Yeah, well, listen to Aaron Rodgers
has one ring. Shut up, go sit down on the
bench and look at what Tom Brady does. Coaching doesn't
mean something, but guess what, so as the play and
the brains and everything of a great quarterback. And Tom
Brady is still that. All right, good call from Daryl,

(01:34:31):
Daryl smart man. Let's go to Anthony and Florida. Anthony
on with the eye couple. All right, Tom Brady is
the best quarterback in the history of the game. No,
he's not. I could just say that, did you know
why not? Aaron Rodgers got one one lucky ring, Brady
got five. How many times have you been the playoffs

(01:34:51):
in the last fifteen years? Hey, a minute? Times has
he been the Super Bowl? And every year you have
different receivers mediocre receiver mediocre. Those guys are not working
at seven to eleven. Stop calling the medioca act like
there's no difference from the NFL caliber players. Didn't he

(01:35:12):
have Randy Mosster? Yeah, and they lost the Super Bowl?
They lost the Super Bowl and scored fourteen points. That's
the great Tom Brady fifty touchdown fifty touchdowns that year.
Come on, people act like you can do that, Tom Brady. No,
Tom Brady can. How about James in Virginia. You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. I think you
were taking my car, Jim and helps with the Red Team. Man,

(01:35:35):
this is what I'm gonna stay like this. When he
talks about the greatest small time man, it's like they
sit collectively at the round table. Right. But but how
do you separate the greatest from the greatest from the greatest.
I mean it comes down to to, like christad Man,
how do they show up in those moments? Man? And
the bottom line is, Man, you're in the year out.
Tom Brady has shown up in No, James, it's you,

(01:35:55):
James preach Jos John Tamma used to show up in
those moments. Joe Coop or no man. There's many times
though the San Francisco forty nine is working in PET
four A championship. The bottom line, Hey, John Elway through
the rock like no one else, man, Yo, Dan Marino,
like no one else. Hey James, James, can I show

(01:36:16):
can I show you the Tom Brady highlight career highlight reel.
Adam Venetierry has thirty minutes on that. It's all it is,
just shots of him making a field goal to help Tom.
Did he win the game, But that's all he put
him in position to get the field I mean, seriously,
that counts. I don't care if you score a touchdown
or if you just put him in field goal or

(01:36:37):
like you make a game winning job or like the
first year he won a Super Bowl, right and if
you want touchdown to win the game, and Tom Brady
wins the games, you know I'm true. Josh in Indiana,
Welcome to the Eye Couple. I don't know why all
the time Brady playing on the sound so drunk. Make

(01:36:59):
up be me right now, but you can show up
the quarterback thing and two questions Ken Tom Brady and
Aaron Rodgers. Both Aaron Rodgers convict every single prol Tom
Brady convey Yeah, Tom Brady. No, No, that's all willing
door Jos. But Josh, thank you, Josh. Also a leadership aspect,

(01:37:20):
a mental aspect, and emotional aspect, savvy poise, And I'm
not saying Rodgers is bad in those areas, but Brady
is phenomenal in those areas. And that's the difference. Neither
one of them has had Hall of Fame receivers for
the bulk of their career. One makes do with it
and to a tremendous degree in winning five Super Bowls.

(01:37:42):
The other doesn't. Is that naj Naji Naji in New Jersey?
Sorry about that? You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. Hey, yeah, I mean, for what I've seen,
I would definitely have to say that Aaron Rodgers is
a cutter quarterback to Tom Brady at this very moment.
There's no down the bus the MVP last year by default,

(01:38:04):
it was by default who was the MVP last yall,
what that name? Aaron Rodgerson with Tom Brady. As you
bought some about the pocket, he's not as good one
on the run as Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers, because you
could arguably say it's the most precise quarterbacks on on
the run. I get all of that. That's not just

(01:38:29):
how you weigh a quarterback. Just like, look, David Robinson.
Who's better David Robinson or Shaquille O'Neil Shock. But David
Robinson had more post moves, David Mark Robinson had more skills.
David Robinson could do some things away from the bucket
Shot couldn't do. But I don't care. Shock dunked on
you every single time. It was effective, more effective than

(01:38:50):
David Robinson. That's all I'm saying. There's other You don't
just say he throws it better, he's more mobile. There's
other things involved. And that's why Brady just a winner.
You're the other one. You're You're the guy who just
looks at because he just happened to be in the
right place at the right time. That's all he happened
to me. Well, why wasn't Bill Belichick winning before Brady

(01:39:11):
got there? He was on he was in Cleveland. Nobody
wins in Cleveland. He was five and eleven, five and
thirteen actually before Brady took over in New England. All right,
it's the eye couple. Fox Sports Radio. We will continue
this talk plus get to Luke Walton Willie Survive. That's next,
It's The Eye Couple, Fox Sports Radio. Yes fired. Thanks

(01:39:54):
tuned into The Odd Couple. It's Chris Brussard and Rob
Parker and Rob Jess about a car not too long ago.
And I tell you, man, car shopping can be confusing.
They hit me with terms like dealer, price list, price invoice.
You know what, the True Car gives you what you
really need? What did other people pay for the car

(01:40:16):
that you want? That way you could recognize what's a
good price and what's a bad price. Trust me, when
you're ready to buy a new or even a used car,
visit True Car to enjoy more confident car buying experience.
And we were just talking about not just the goat.
You're you're right. You tried to differentiate between the goat

(01:40:36):
and who's the better quarterback because because I'm I'm one.
As much as I love Aaron Rodgers, I told you
he's not in a go car. He don't have to
win three. You just have. And I would look if
he would if he were to win, like say he
wins two more, he won the next two, I would
be ready to say he's the goat if you want

(01:40:59):
to crown him. But I'm just looking at it as
a point where it's not just a tally. Oh he's
got three rings, he got five rings, he got this
or that. But at some point, if we're gonna considue
the greatest to ever do it, then you gotta win
to some degree, no doubt about it. But it's just
one you know, the thing that he wouldn't be in
this conversation if it was just style points. But he

(01:41:20):
has the greatest quarterback waiting of any quarterback who's ever
played christ that counts, and he has the best. But
then he has the best touchdown. I'm just saying not
to be gold. I'm just talking about we're not talking
about the best of all times. He's got to win more. No,
he's got to win eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox is the number. Let's go to Thomas in California,

(01:41:40):
Yarn with the odd couple. Great man. I just want
to say, you know, a big fan of you guys,
love the show, listening to you for a lot of years. Thanks.
When it comes to you know, the goat Rogers, Brady,
you know athleticism and making all the throws. Rogers can
do that, and when it comes to making all the players,
this is your team to win, Leading and inspiring your

(01:42:02):
team in dire situations. Brady is heading above everybody doing that.
He doesn't fold under pressure, and he delivers when the
game matters, more than anybody's had in the history of
the game. Thomas, Does it bother you that he got
suspended for cheating and his team got got busted for cheating?
Does that bother you at all? Are you talking about
you know Belichick in the taping situation or not? It's

(01:42:27):
defensive signals? Who does that help that helse the quarterback?
If you know what defense they're frying. Do you mind
when I'm asking about the baseball players that we ain't
talking about baseball all right to cheating baseball, that's part
of the game. We're not talking about you all mad.
I'm just saying you know him? Right? Hey Brian in La,
you're on the Yond couple. What's up? Brian? Hey rob

(01:42:50):
how's it going? Hey Chris? What's up? I just want
to chime in, and I just want to give my
two cents on this topic. I'm a Ravens fan. I
hate Brady with all my guts, but I have to
admit that Brady, I believe is the better quarterback because
he has had a lot less and a lot longer time,
and he only gets better with age. And that is

(01:43:11):
hard to say about anybody else in the league. Righted
it up? Brian. When you hear all of these these prope,
these Hall of Fame football players who all say that
Aaron Rodgers is the best, Shannon Sharp won two Super Bowls?
How many times are you gonna tell us say it?
All right? I mean, we get it all right with that,

(01:43:33):
rob It's like I said, David Robinson, if we just
do a checklist of skills, he might have more than
Shaquille O'Neill, but who was better? Shock? Obviously? I mean
sometimes it's not just he can make all the throws.
He's more mobile. And again, I'm a guy that loves Rogers,
let's go to Jason in Vegas. Jason, Welcome to the
Odd Couple. Hey, guys, how's it going tonight? Hey? I

(01:43:59):
am here in this this debate going, and I kind
of compare it to the Lebron Amaza debate. Uh. You know,
Lebron is clearly the most talented player to ever play
in the NBA. UM But Michael has the talents, the rings,
he got the big plays, and so you put mj
ahead of the Bron. It's the same with Brady. He's
got the talent, he's got the rings, he's got the

(01:44:20):
career of making plays, and not you know, putting his
team in positions where where they're going to lose the game.
So I think you have to give it to Brad
in terms of overall work, Jason. Did Jason hold on?
Jason hold hold on? Did you see Brady cough up
the football with two minutes to go to a backup
quarterback and lose the Super Bowls past year? Yeah? I

(01:44:42):
also saw him throw five hundred yards and touchdown. Is
it about yards of points? Jason? Which one I'm curious though,
was was it was it the backup quarterback that sack him?
Or was it the defensive players. No, but I'm just
saying he lost to a backup quarterback. What you're the
grace of all time? And some guy some countr rogers?
How many Let's go look at who he lost to

(01:45:02):
in the first round, and then we're not talking about
hold your ground, Calvin is san Antonio. You're on the
odd couple. Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Calvin? What's up? Guys?
I love this debate because actually not that I'm so
proud of him right now, how to reskin my team?
But Tom Brady is my quarterback. I believe he is

(01:45:23):
the dope because he's always done more with less. You said,
you said, And I'm a respond to a couple of
things before I actually make my point. You said, um,
about the last Super Bowl, he lost your backup. It
could have very well went the other way because the
questionable call at the back of the end zone that
the running back caught front on the Eagles, where he pitied, patted,
and they gave him the touchdown. Come on, Calvin, let

(01:45:46):
that go he got was a Touchdo you brought it up?
You said? He said? You said he lost to a
backup quarterback. That's not necessarily the case. The ref gave
him that game. In my opinion, Calvin ain't Calvin. Ain't Calvin?
What about the cheating? Facts? The franchisees is riddle with cheating. Hey,
the cheating. Let me tell you this. What is what

(01:46:08):
is the PF fire or whatever for the football? Thirteen
point five? Right? Tom Brady obviously liked it at twelve
point five. Aaron Rodgers admitted that he liked it at
fourteen point five. It's not about what you admit. It's
not about he got busted. He got busted and suspended
for four galves and way to drop facts, brother, good job,
all right, Drew in Florida, welcome to the eye couple.

(01:46:31):
Thank you, How you doing great? Hey? Pull over full o?
What was that? Does a baby? You got the baby? Yeah?
I got? Okay, okay, go ahead. So it's one play
in particular that's the men's Tom Brady. Now I'm a
Patriot fan, but everybody remember the Super Bowl when the

(01:46:51):
Patriots is getting blown out. Remember Tom Brady came back
after the half and he made that run. I was
throwing the Super Bowl party in my house, and I
was quiet the whole game. Tom Brady made that ruin,
and I say, if Tom Brady will in the ruin,
these boys gonna work and what happened Atlanta Chow, that
was a choke job. That was That was a choke job.

(01:47:13):
Brady rallying the troops, and that's my point. He does
it time and time again. That was a choke job,
one hundred percent. Matt and Oregon. You're on the hot
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Matt? Hey, guys,
how you doing great? Hey? I'm not a big Tom
Brady or in Rogers fan. I just want to point
out two facts that Tom Brady benefited from the tuck

(01:47:35):
roll against Open Raiders, which was bogus. And then Tom
Brady would have never won a super Bowl if Drew
Brady's never gets hurt, if Drew Blest show never gets hurt.
And Bill Bella never would have won a super Bowl too.
You're luck You're right, I mean, it was up. Tom
Brady is the lot, Matt, the luckiest of all time.

(01:47:56):
You're right, he was. He wasn't good enough to beat
out Drew bloodsoe so until a freak accident. So I'm
just pointing out out his team did cheat. But I
love your guys show. Thanks, Thanks, buddy, did you text Matt? No,
I don't know Matt, and I don't know anybody what
to say. George in La, Welcome to the Eye couple. Yeah,

(01:48:20):
don't forget brothers in two thousand and two and they
won their first Super Bowl. They cheated against the Rams.
They knew the rid zone plays. The Rams check the
whole damn Super Bowl to change their whole format. Yep,
that was you know, and then that checked us out.
Rogers would never win another Super Bowl because of fact,
the Rams and Jerry Golf and the young coach like
they all basically Brady Villa check number two. Hey, George, George,

(01:48:43):
you're you're you're counting your chickens way before they hatched.
Everybody was all on the Rams last year. And then
win the playoffs at home and loss. Just be careful
before you just count super Bowls before they win a
playoff game first, How about that? Yeah? I get it,
But the thing gets Golf is very young. He's only
his third years, second year actually playing, and he's only
twenty four years. They get it. They got on paper

(01:49:04):
they look good. George, I got it, But don't count
super Bowls yet until they actually win one. He brings
up an interest in point. Let me ask you this, Rob,
if Aaron Rodgers doesn't win another Super Bowl, even get
to another Super Bowl, how's that? I mean? I guess
it's similar to damn Marina. But what are you gonna
think about that? No, but he could never be in
the gold conversation with he has to win at least

(01:49:27):
three because they diminish him. I don't at all. It
depends on what the team looks like. If they if
they really like I have to see how it plays out.
Like if he went four straight years without making the playoffs,
then yeah, But if they've had a run and a
guy mister pop mister a touchdown or you know what
I mean, or a fumble at the one yard line,

(01:49:48):
and they were going in to win with that change
any you know what I'm saying, I'd have to see.
All Yeah, Matt in Ohio, welcome to the Eye Couple.
All right, what's up, guys? What's up? So when we
do this best of greatest of all time conversation? I
always tell people in this debate that there's two different conversations.
Are you talking about most accomplished or best players? See?

(01:50:11):
And most accomplished is Tom Brady, I'll even say that
I think the Goat is a combination. Though it's a
combination like you have to have team accomplishments in terms
of wins championships, and you have to have individual accomplishments.
But Matt about the best quarterback. Let me say quick
a comparison Matt and keep him oning Bill Russell eleven championships. There,

(01:50:35):
I'm in the goat conversation. Now, I'm not saying he
wasn't great individually, but his numbers were fifteen points again,
and then we'll only know he never averaged more than
eighteen points a game. And then only eight teams in
the league. And back then every league had a dominant team.
The Yankees won every year, the Celtics one every year,
and the Montreal Canadians one every year. But Rob, I'll

(01:50:55):
say this, even though you're right about that, if Bill
Russell had the numbers of Wilt Chamberlain and one eleven rings,
that would be but right, that's what you'd have, the
combination of the individual even if it was only eighteen,
but eight people would be like, yo, dude, was like
destroying people. But eighteen might be considered to go eight

(01:51:17):
teams though in that league. I'm telling you I get it,
but I'm just saying we don't see because people some
people still Will, I mean want to say Will, even
though he doesn't have the wings right. But but people
also who even bring up Bill Russell, they don't even
know how many teams were in the league. They don't
know what the makeup of the league was. They have
no idea. I'm serious, did you see the eleven? But

(01:51:37):
that's that's an accomplishment. All right, we'll get more of
the eye couple coming out, but first let's bring in
Dab Carson Gents. Titans were up fourteen seventy on Lewis
with an eighteen yard catching run from Marcus Mariota that
made it fourteen seven. Alan Hearns as just scored for Dallas.
Doctor Hearns for twenty three yards out for Tina piece

(01:52:00):
right now with thirty nine seconds to go in the
second quarter. Well, dec has two touchdowns and he's thrown
for thirty nine yard. Yes, you're being facetious. He does
have an intercept a better, right, he does. Here's the
thing he has. He has another target that appears to

(01:52:22):
be reliable to throw too, too, so that makes all
the difference in the world. So h and again, if
Dez is gonna work out, you know we're gonna talk
about that too. Dez Bryant. According to NFL Media's Jane Slater,
Dez is gonna work out with the Saints tomorrow along
with two other receivers, and the Saints have a receiving corps.
But I mean, the the bulk amount has gone to
one guy, so you know, Drew Brees is amazing and

(01:52:43):
can sling it around, but if he has another big
target down there, then that's going to help them too,
as they appear to be pretty serious in the hunt
for making a run in the NFC anyway, But again,
fourteen all for the Titans and the Cowboys thirty two
seconds ago in the first half is they wrap up
Week nine in Monday at night. Football do have some
hoops action underway as well a couple of finals. James

(01:53:05):
Harden with twenty eight as the Rockets beat the Pacers
ninety eight ninety four magic made the Cavaliers disappear one
h two, one hundred. Cleveland led this one a lot
of the way looked like they were going to pick
up their second win of the season, but they did not,
and the Calves did reach a deal with Larry Drew,
so he's under contract for at least the rest of
this season, and there are reports by ESPN that say

(01:53:26):
there are partial guarantees for next year as well. And
in the NHL, of course, we've got our Discover Card
key matchup the Montreal Canadians taking on the New York Islanders,

limitations apply. And for those who may have not heard,
at the beginning of the show, the finalists were announced
for the Baseball Writers Association's Big Major League Awards Most
Valuable Player. The big conversation is who didn't get in,
and that would be Red Sox slugger j D Martinez
left out of the final group. The finalists in the
AL Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts, Jose Ramirez of the Indians,

(01:54:11):
Mike Trout of the Angels in the NL, Nolan Arronado
of the Rockies Javi Bayez of the Cubs and Christian
Yellows of the Brewers. You know what, we're gonna talk
about that tomorrow. We want to get it. So, writer
from Boston, who would you drop off those three? Theom
probably Mike Trout's player in baseball. Yeah, But the only
thing is that that's where analytics come in. And they

(01:54:34):
didn't make the playoffs, they didn't play in any meaningful games.
It seems like they probably didn't want to red So no,
I'm telling it to analytics. They look at do you know,
they consider him the greatest player, So every year they
look at his things, and his numbers are all good,
his war numbers, and that's why they keep He's in
the hunt every year for best player. But you know, baseball,

(01:54:55):
of the three major sports, I would say that's the one. Well,
if you're coming quarterbacks in football, that's the one where
I don't blame a player if his team is bad.
In baseball, you know what the rest of your lineup
might be garbage. You know, that's the one I understand
How to hold that against you? What I'm just saying,
there's no way J D. Martinez had an unbelievable year

(01:55:18):
that he's not in the mix he did for MVP.
I'm shocked by that. You'll talk about it tomorrow. All right,
thank you. All right, it's the Eye Couple of Chris
brus or Rod Parker coming you live from the Geico

(01:55:42):
It's not what it was my it's not looking good
for Luke Walton's voice. Uh, that's next. It's the Eye Couple.

All right, you're listening to the Eye Couple Chris, Bruce
Sard and Rob Parker, brought to you by Discover Card.
We treat you that that I don't know. I was
felt scared for Luke, so that's what that was that
brought him up to the Halloween in me. But as
I said, it's the Eye Couple. We're brought to you

(01:56:29):
by Discover Card, because Discover Card treats you like you
would treat you. Right, We got a few minutes left
and we're gonna get into this more tomorrow. But the
Lakers a lot of drama. Looked like they had a
great win on Saturday app or beat Portland for the
first time, then lost sixteenth straight yep to the Trailblazers.
That was a big win. The Trailblazers came back late

(01:56:52):
in the game and they held them off yep, and
finished it off and got the big w They come
back home, they get the news that Kawhi Leonard's not playing.
I know it's a back to back, but but that's
gotta be one of those games where they could have
turned the weekend into something special. Right, you could have
had some momentum saying wow, look at and what did
they do? They gave up like ninety points in the

(01:57:14):
first quarter. I mean they were down thirty one, thirty
two or something like that in the first quarter. I mean,
it was ridiculous, broke a franchise record for first quarter deficit.
Rob g what was the exact give me the exact
number that they were down the first but a few
hours earlier. We know the drama from last week where
Magic Johnson went off on Luke Walton in a meeting

(01:57:38):
challenges strategy, what are you doing? What's wrong with this team?
And basically put Luke on the hot seat, put them
on notice. Yeah, and Magic came out Sunday a few
hours before the game against Toronto and saying, Luke, they
were now twenty five. Okay, Magic came out and said

(01:57:59):
Luke publicly, Luke's gonna be the coach for the rest
of the year. Maybe, Yeah, that's basically what unless something
drastic happens. And what I don't think it has to
be twelve straight losses, but you know what if they
lose their next four or their next five, something like that,
and you know what, that's why you don't say that,

(01:58:19):
you should We're all on notice, Chris, right, all of us, right,
So I don't even understand why he should have even
said that to put that out there. Oh no, He's
gonna be the coach for the rest of the year
unless something happens. Well, of course, unless something happened, right, right, right,
I mean, what are you telling that if it wasn't that,
if that wasn't the end, right, then you could just
fire him. Now, it doesn't make right, That's what I

(01:58:41):
was just so strange that he would throw that out there,
because so much came of it after the meeting got leaked,
you know what I mean, and the details of what
went on that was as we know, look damage control.
Yeah that's all that was. And look the bottom line,
And we've talked about it several times. Luke was not
magic and Rob Pelinka's guy. And when you're not, you're

(01:59:04):
gonna be the skatebo exactly rightly or wrongly. I'm not
saying he deserves it or doesn't deserve it, but rightly
or wrongly, he's going to take the hit if this starts.
It's just like in our business, like when I was
doing local news. I was the ten pm sports anchor
on the news ten o'clock news on w x y

(01:59:25):
Z TV in Detroit, and the news director and assistant
news director who hired me, right, they hire me, put
billboards up Rob Park at ten pm. All that. Then
the news director leaves like a month or a month
and a half later, So I'm like, oh man, that's

(01:59:45):
not a good day, right right, But then I want
him coming out here before anything like happened. Yeah, but
I didn't feel good once because it's totally get back.
You don't have your back and a new person comes
in they want to be the news director. They're gonna
bring in the gods that that's how the business roles.
So that's why Luke Walton isn't And even if Genie

(02:00:05):
Bust wants them, it doesn't matter. I think Genie, as
much as she likes Luke and I, oh, obviously she
would have the finals say, but I think she's gonna
let Magic do what he wants. Otherwise you can't. Magic
would have to quit that Magic. I don't think it's
going to take that position if he doesn't have ultimate power.
David Blade, that was a pick by uh the owner,

(02:00:28):
Gay Gilbert, Right, that was his guy. He picked them, right, Okay,
come they go to the NBA finals. No, we gotta
give it Rid. They went to the NBA finals his
first year coaching in the NBA, and it wasn't good enough.
The challenge the Lakers are facing is that they're trying
to do three things this season, and that they're not
necessarily compatible, or at least two of them aren't. Number One,

(02:00:50):
they're trying to develop their young players. See who plays
well with Lebron and who's the keeper? Okay, number two.
They're trying to win now. To some degree, they may
know they can't beat Golden State in a seven game series,
but they want to definitely want to make the playoffs
and make some noise when they get And I gotta

(02:01:11):
be honest, Rob, If I'm Magic Johnson and I'm looking
at my roster and I'm looking at the rest of
the West, there is no reason in my mind that
I don't think we can be as good as anybody
in the West except Golden State? Am I right? Denver
is eight and one. They got Yoki Nicola, Yoki, Paul Millsap,

(02:01:34):
you know, a bunch of young guys like I'm not
afraid of them, Houston, I'm not afraid of now New Orleans, Utah,
Oklahoma's like every team. They're all good. Portland. But they
got their wards just like we got our wards. But
I got the best player. I got that, But you
got the best players sixteen years deep. Who doesn't is

(02:01:56):
he still the best player that? I mean? That's who
doesn't play defense more that Damian Lillard doesn't play them.
But I'm just talking I'm and the problem is those
players follow Lebron's lead, and Chris, you saw the first quarter.
There's no defense. People are going to the basket just
absolutely with nothing. There's no resistance. Have you seen anybody

(02:02:19):
getting knocked down going through the lane to let them know, dude,
this ain't no revolving door, but nothing. You're gonna tell
you don't think magic, and not now because it's early,
but you don't think magic. Johnson is justified in thinking
we could be as good as anybody else door. He
can think that way with Lebron. I get it, I
get it. I get the West. Every other team they

(02:02:42):
got one, maybe two stars. But let me ask you,
you pick fifty three wins, you feel the same way.
Right now? I mean they go on a heck of
a tear, but still it's not impossible. But I'm just
asking you. I mean, I'm gonna stick. Look, I don't
think Lebron's right now. He's not looking like he's gonna
win the MVP. And I don't think they're not looking
like they're gonna win fifty three games. No, not right now,

(02:03:03):
not right now. They look they look bad. Okay, they
look bad. I mean, heck, they just got beat by
