It’s the Best of the Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker! Chris and Rob debate whether Dak has truly proven his worth for his contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. The guys are also joined by Green Bay Packers Defensive Tackle, Kenny Clark, and the top college basketball recruit, Makur Maker on why he is considering playing for Howard University. Plus, a lucky fan commemorated the moment Odell Beckham Jr. signed his forearm by getting it tattooed. Would the guys do the same? Find out on this edition of the Best of the Odd Couple.

(00:21):
s R. You're listening to the Best of The Odd
Couple with Chris Brush and Rod Harker. There was a
nice story today in Sports Illustrated about Dak Prescott and
really about the Dallas Cowboys. Dak was on the cover,
but it was allowed to talk about how you know

(00:44):
all the extra money that you make off the field
being a Dallas Cowboy, and the implication being that you know,
Dak can take less money to remain the Cowboys quarterback
he makes. They're talking about fifty million dollars off the

(01:06):
field just as a Cowboys quarterback. We know he's got
not getting paid a lot of money. He was a
fourth round draft pick, still on his rookie scale deal.
But the implication, as I said, is that he should
take less money. So I want to throw this out
to you, Rob, because we know how it works. Being
the highest paid player ie quarterback in the NFL does

(01:30):
not mean you're the best, doesn't even mean you're top
five necessarily Kirk Cousins. But it just means it's all
about timing. And if you are a franchise quarterback and
you're up, you typically become the highest paid quarterback now.

(01:51):
Hasn't happened with a Carson Wentz with a Jared Goff,
although you know they got more guaranteed money, but Carson
Wentz and Jared Goff did not make more. They make
him with thirty two million a year roughly, and Russell
Wilson is the highest paid now at thirty five million
a year. And I'm throwing it out to you, Rob,

(02:13):
should Russell or Dak Prescott become the highest paid player
in the NFL, not if I was paying. And I'm
just saying it's strictly my taste and what I've seen
so far, I just need a little bit more. And
I know he's started off, he started off great. So far,
they've played two bad teams. Stop it. I love it.

(02:35):
Everybody's played too bad, too bad teams. And I'm just saying, no,
I haven't given everybody love because I said the same
thing Lamar Jackson. I'm not on board yet. I'm just
saying I want to see more if they if he
pulls off this year and now they don't have to
pay him this year, they could wait. It might cost
him more if he has not big not mine. If

(02:56):
he has a big year, but he might do he
might turn it around and be bad. He might It
might go the other way and maybe not that they
would want that. Of course, they want him to be
as good as he possibly can because they think they
have a chance to do something. So it's all on
on where you are and what you believe. I believe
that they are cowboys will eventually come around and pay

(03:17):
him a special this year. I don't know if it's
this year after this year. I think that I think.
But of course they're gonna pay him unless he just
completely falls off the map and has a horrible setoff.
But they still gotta pay him. I mean, they don't
have an option. I mean even if he had you
know what, I'm sad, if he had a horrible season
and they didn't make the playoffs, they gotta pay him.

(03:38):
They still would pay him, but he just wouldn't get
that the biggest money. Who else what are you gonna do.
You're gonna release him. You're not gonna release him if
he had a bad year. Do you see what I'm saying?
He still would get paid, Chris if it would be
harder to give him that that contract of like making
him the highest paid quarterback off a bad year, the

(03:59):
Cowboys need to go ahead and pay him. And I
don't know what he's asked. And there was, you know,
rumors out there report that it was forty million. Some
people said that wasn't true, but maybe it was. I
think just based on Timy, he is not the best
quarterback in the NFL. He is not currently top five,

(04:19):
but I believe he is in route to becoming an
elite quarterback without question. Dak Prescott is off to a
tremendous start. And you can talk about, oh it was
the Redskins, Oh it was the Giants, doesn't matter. It's
the NFL. Nobody's killing Lamar Jackson because they played the Dolphins.

(04:42):
Nobody's killing Tom Brady and Antonio Brown because they played
the Dolphins. No, you're listen too, I mean, did you
hear Greg? Because Greg Cosell, who does the NFL films,
who talked about Dak and talked about Lamar Jackson. He
said both of them. He said, hey, they're playing who's
in front of him. But I gotta be honest. When

(05:03):
you're not pressured by bad defenses and you stand in
the pocket, he said, those throws are easy throws to make.
And he wasn't about to because it was I heard
him on Colin. He wasn't about to praise and say
that Dak had changed his mind or anything on what
he's seen. He said, it's hard to evaluate a guy
when when the defense is bad. And I think that's

(05:24):
a fair It doesn't mean that he's no good Chris,
That's not what I'm saying. But you can't make up
this grandioso. He's turned the corner when there's no pressure
in your face and guy's are wide open. He's got
a great offensive learning. He's going to have protection. Now
you granted it's been overboard against these two bad teams,

(05:44):
but he's going to have good protection for the most part.
I agree with that. But I just got a good
offensive line I agree with and you he is. I
see growth. I see growth. Now. Lamar Jackson is different.
He doesn't have the body of work that has I'm
not just going off these two games. I mean, heck,

(06:04):
since Amari Cooper showed up there, he's playing great and
they're playing great. His numbers are elite with Amari Cooper,
who's the first top flight receiver that he's had the
privilege of playing with. We know he had Daz Bryant,
but Daz had some issues attitudinally was kind of toward
the down the end of his career. Jason Witten was old.

(06:27):
You know, now he's back, but he was old. Cole Beasley,
I mean, come on, you know. Now he's got a
number one, a legitimate number one receiver, and he's and
he's got you know, Randall Cobb is tough, So that
makes Michael Gallup better. He's got a Now he's got
a modern day I'm gonna call it that modern day
play caller. So so you're killing Moore. And if they

(06:52):
don't pay him now, they need to pay him now.
If he's asking for thirty six million a year, they
need to pay him now, because if they make the
playoffs and he continues to play well, it's going to
be much more than that. And if he goes the
other way, they'll be saddled with the guy who coming
into the season, people looked at it and said was

(07:12):
a third tier quarterback when they rated him. And you
can talk about the receivers. The miss throws and those
kind of missing open receivers is something that has nothing
to do with with with who's your receiver. It was
about his accuracy. So this I'm leading, I'm just of
his path. I'm just going on what the evaluators in

(07:35):
the league when they look at his whole body of work,
pegged them as a third tier quarterback. If you're telling
me he's an elague quarterback, Chris, I'll hey, that's your opinion.
I respect your opinion, but I disagree. I don't think
he's top five, but I'm saying he's on. He's gonna
be one of those guys. That's like I said, I've

(07:55):
said it, you've mocked it. But he's a winner and
now his physical tools are catching up. You sound like
still be about Tim Tebow, but that's not Tim Tebow.
No Tebow couldn't throw. What did you say, though, I'm
just sounking you skip is not even in the conversation.
I'm just asking you. That was his that was his
thing about compared Oh, he's anna winner winner. Are you

(08:19):
really gonna no, because you use press that's because you
use that as the reason. Brady. No, you said he's
a winner, and that means that you're overlooking his flaws.
And to know that other people are telling you means
why he's No, it's just why tangibles. No, that's what

(08:41):
you're not. He's that's what Skipper should do because could
numbers didn't bear it out. No, I wasn't a Tebow guy.
That's it was just a story on ESPN dot com
that rated the best shooters of the last decade and
they had Lebron James number three, ahead of Clay Thompson.
It's a that's absurd. As great as Lebron is, that's absurd.

(09:04):
And for you to compare Tim Tebow as a passer
to Dak Prescot's Patrick didn't him mention? You didn't him?
He mentioned Teaboard as a passer all I'm saying, but
that's what that's the position. Your your position was any
games Tebow was winning, he couldn't throw. He beat an

(09:26):
NFL court. You remember the playoff game he threw against Pittsburgh.
He threw an eighty yard touchdown to win the game,
and everybody was like, he's a winner. It don't matter.
He winner games it was eight games. Whenever I hear
Scott has given you three plus seasons, He's got more
victories than every Quarterbay talk about that. You're just talking

(09:46):
about winner. Fucking if that's saying he's a winner, why
are you yelling him trying to get a point across
the win. You're the one who started this by saying
he was a winner. Just talk about his accolade. You
don't need to throw that. And if his numbers are
so I hopping, I don't use that guy. I can
I use descriptions. You don't have to just throw out numbers.
I'm just to you and throw out numbers for the

(10:08):
next three hours. The real fun. The last time I
heard people talk about all he's just he's a winner,
doesn't matter, it was no everybody raving about Brady's physical
attribute now, but his numbers are way better, ain't It's
about that point is bring up Tebow, right, That's all
I'm saying. Why bring up That's what they said when

(10:31):
he was winning all the games. Though he was winning,
it didn't matter. It's not it doesn't matter what why
skip Bayless do it on Undisputed. I'm doing in on
this show. I'm not sitting here praising Tim Tebow. I mean,
really like, why are you Why are you bringing up
skips arguments. I've never praised Tim Tebow as a quarter
You said, I'm just going when that, when you said

(10:53):
he's a winner, That's what what clicked into my head.
That was an argument about Tim Tebow all the time.
He's a winner. Don't tell me about it. Don't tell
me that he can't throw a ball, don't tell me
about that. Don't tell me he's a bad Parker's player.
Don't tell me about you can win. He's a winner.
That's all that matters. I don't know who else you're

talking about. A couple Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to

which way is easier. Our next guest you can follow
on Twitter at Casey about that life, Casey, about that life,
Casey being Kenny Clark, Kansas City. I thought you could
definitely think that. I don't think he's from there originally,

(11:56):
but it's Kenny Clark, Greme Bay Packers defensive tackle Kenney.
What's happening, man? What are you doing? What's up? Man?
How you guys doing doing great? We're great? Uh, not
as good as the Packers, right, And I want to
get to that. But first first, let me I gotta
throw this out because we've been seeing some tweets that
you've you've put out there. Uh, you got a competition

(12:19):
going on this week with Jeremiah Alison, who played at
Washington State linebacker of course, Uh, Saturday to Washington State
play y'all Alma mater UCLA. Tell us a little bit
about what you and Jeremiah got going on? It better? What? Yeah?
I mean, it's just a pretty cool little competition we
got going on. Basically, we're just seeing, you know, who

(12:40):
can raise the most money before the game and all
of it is uh towards the end a holiday season. Um,
we got some special for for both of our charities.
So uh, you know, we're just trying to raise as
most as much money as we can so we can
help out, you know, families in our area. That's great.
So there's not a better on the game. It's just
you raising who's raising money. Yeah, we're just raising money

(13:04):
for our charity. Good. That's smart too, because I hate
to say it, man, your Bruins haven't looked too good lately. No,
oh man, I mean what man, Hey, Kenny, you smell lot.
That's the Bruins right now. I don't know what's going on,
but you all day. I'd rather be oh man, I

(13:26):
teach at USC pipe down with that. But let's talk.
Let's talk about the defense in Green Bay, because you
guys are off to a great start. I remember even
after you guys beat two division rivals the Bears on
the road, Vikings at home. Uh, you got a two
old record. And after the first game with the Bears. Uh.

(13:48):
Aaron Rodgers interviewed after the game and he just looked
into the camera and said, man, I think we got
a defense. Is that defense for real? Yeah? Man, I
think so. I think we got we got some ars
that can do some special things. And uh, I just
feel like, you know, just just it's as far as

(14:08):
just a team. You know, we're a lot closer this year.
Were out there, we're playing for each other, um, and
you know it's it's year two in Mike Patton's system,
and uh, you know Mike Patty, he's a real smart
defensive coordinator. He put his art positions, you know, to
the seed. And I just feel like, you know, we
we all playing together as a team, and uh, you know,
things just working out real well for us. Were sapping

(14:30):
people on first and checking down, getting people on long
long distances on third down, and uh, you know, you know,
we like the pledge, We like to move move parts
around and do all that kind of stuff. And uh,
you know the pressor getting home for folks, I mean
from us. And then uh we got you know, we
got guys that Darius and Preston and those guys, you
know they came in and they're exupposed to age rushers.

(14:53):
And then you know, Kenny, how much of a chip
is on the shoulder the defense collectively? I know you
haven't been there for the whole time. Yeah, because you
get tired of hearing people talk about always Rogers. Yeah, man, Um,
you know I was. I was here when we went

(15:14):
to the Nancy Championship. I went to any championship my
rookie year, and I just you know, just just getting here, man,
I just felt like, you know, all the time, it
was always you know, Aaron, Aaron, the offense, they score
thirty points and you know we would give up thirty five.
You know what I'm saying, Like you should never lose
a playoff game like that, you know. So it's just
one of those things where, man, we gotta, we gotta

(15:37):
get out of that. You know, we gotta get out
of that front where you know, the defense is looked
at as a liability. You know, every time we get
we played a good quarterback, you know they're gonna score dirty.
You know that that can't happen. And anytime you gotta
you gotta Hall of Fame quarterback, one of the best
quarterbacks to ever played this game, and you put a
good defense around them, you know, good things should happen. So, uh,

(16:00):
you know that's what's going on right now. Uh. You know,
we're touring O and we're gonna say humble about it,
but I think I think we're gonna we're really on
the ridge, Kenny. The thing that that stands out to
me the most. You know, sometimes you can talk about
well the defense and you maybe can't really tell or
see what's going on totally. But you guys are played

(16:20):
have playmakers. In both games, you guys had interceptions at
the end where the other team was driving. Is that
encouraging that guys are making plays in big situations? Oh yeah, definitely.
Uh you know you see, like you know, Kvi King
made that great interception in the in the red zone.
In the first week. You know, Adrian Amos he had
made an interception in the red zone. Um, you know,

(16:43):
it's it's always good to see those guys man the
Russian the Russian team and then the back end, the secondary.
You know, they're working together and making plays together. And
I just think, you know that's why, you know, the
front office and you know, the coaching staff day brought
those guys in and um, you know, those guys are
just great additions to our team. And you know the

(17:04):
guys that we drafted and and that's you know, homegrown,
they've been developed in and uh you know, you know,
coming into their own as players. So we're looking real
good packers. Defensive tackle Kenny Clark is joining the Eye
couple Kenney. This summer or off season, I felt like
Aaron Rodgers took more criticism than I've probably ever seen

(17:25):
him get since he's become a star. You know, with
Mike McCarthy being let go, some people talked about that.
Some people criticize kind of the way he freelances at
times offensively. Have you seen anything different from him, whether
it's attitude wise or whatever this season, Man, I would
just say, you know, he just he just focused and

(17:48):
as always, you know, he's man, he still himself. Uh,
they don't know, Man, he just he goes out there
every day, he competes. Uh, he brings his best and
you know, you know, I'm just happy he's launch mat
But we're not playing against him, you know. I mean
he can make all the throws he can, he can
read it every defense he hadn't seen it all. So
I would just saying, man, he's just he's just focused.

(18:09):
And I think, you know, just him seeing how the
defense before in these last two weeks, you know, I
think I think he really sees that we could do
something special as as a team last you know, we
gotta I think that him seeing the defense. Hear him
seeing the defense these last two weeks. I think he
thinks that we can do some special as the team. Man.
We got to just keep working and uh and and

(18:31):
see what happens at the end of the year. After
you guys had the first road game, I think you
have five of five of the of the next six
games or at home. How important is that? I mean,
you really could uh load up and be off to
a great start, you know, by having so many games
at lambeau Field. How how good of a advantage of

(18:51):
that for you? Oh yeah, that's huge, That's huge. Man.
You know, we gotta we got a couple of opponents
coming in, you know, to it's a lambo and uh,
you know, we want to make this face the you know,
the best homes homes advantage that we can and uh,
you know, we gotta we gotta get those wins, um
And yeah, it's an advantage, man. You know, the crowd

(19:12):
gonna be gonna be hyped up. We're gonna be hyped up,
ready to go, and uh, you know, we gotta, we gotta,
we gotta win our home games. Kenny, great stuff, man.
We appreciates the rest of the season and keep up
the great work. Thanks. I Heart prect Fox Sports Radio

actually two guests joining us right now, and we're so
excited to talk to this young man. You may or

(20:17):
may not know his name yet, but we guarantee that
you will know his name very soon. He is one
of the top high school basketball players in the country.
I mean one of the tip top high school basketball
players in the country. He is a cousin to NBA
player Signmaker. His name is my Core Maker, My Core

(20:39):
Welcome to the odd couple. Andy, We're great, man, We're great.
You're joined by your guardian and smith Ed. How are you.
I'm doing well. How are you? Chris? Great? Great, It's
great to have you guys on. And I gotta say
this about mccore. I met mccore this pass. I guess

(20:59):
it was spring, I don't think it was in the
summer at an a you event, and he was a
little salty with me because I said that I'm not
sure if any of the international guys like Yanni's have
enough swag to be the face of the NBA. And
he said, I'm gonna show you that an international guy
can have swag. Isn't that what you said to me

(21:21):
my corp? Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say, mccoor, just
get in line to be salty with Chris, because that's
just how all what happens around here. Well you, before
we get into some other stuff. I mean, you're six
to eleven. I've seen you play and seen some some

(21:41):
video and stuff, and you do play, you know, not exactly,
but you remind me a little bit of Yannis onto
the Coomba of course, the MVP of the NBA this year.
Because you're basically a seven footer. But you bring the
ball up the court and you got a great handle,
you can pass it, You're aggressive in attack, get in
the rim, you'll go in the post. But you probably

(22:03):
shoot a little better. You shoot outside better and more
than Yannis. But did you pattern any of your game
after him? Or who? Who? If not him, did you
pattern your game after? Yeah, just a little bit of Yannis,
the way he gets downhill and the way he finishes
and coming down and transition. I just try to grab
a little bit of things from how many things he

(22:24):
does and try to add it to my game. That's great, man,
that's great. So what about the whole notion of what's
going on college wise? Have you heard about the whole
thing where we're some states are now allowing college kids
when you go to college that basically you might be

(22:45):
able to make money off your likeness. Have you looked
into that at all or heard about that. We were
just talking about that, you know, mccure and I, you know,
I think that the game is evolving. I mean, the
rules around the industry itself is evolving, and people are
kind of recognizing it. There's a lot of things happening

(23:05):
athletes ring a lot to the table. That's beyond the
price of a scholarship with a course of a scholarship,
no doubt about it, to the university. So there's a
lot of things to figure out if we're at a
point in history where you know, change is happening right
now and you know people are thinking differently and rightfully.

(23:27):
So Chris and I talk about this all the time.
The NCAA can say whatever they want amateur sports. They
got a six billion dollars TV deal from CBS. It's
about time that the players get cut in well, you know,
I mean at the end of the day there it's
I always felt that these kids if I live in
Australia for a walk, and it's basically if kids are

(23:50):
playing for a club, they can hear in the income.
It's allowed to happen overseas and nobody has a problem
with it. It's allowed to happen with a pick athletes.
Nobody has a problem with it. Um So that that
level of disparity that happens. You know that song went
from high school to pro That was one of my
ideas behind that. I'm like, why do we have to

(24:12):
go through all of this? Um you know, or therefore
these kids to just reach their dreams. Why is this
such a fight? Tennis players offers can do this? Why
is it such a fight across the board? And that
was one of the things I think that's been a consideration,
especially with mccor's recruiting. You know, people are feeling will

(24:34):
he go pro or will he go to college? So
the colleges haven't been aggressive and recruiting as much soul Well,
mccor and you can weigh in on this as well.
Ed you you've been ranked anywhere from four to seven
as far as players in this high school graduating class

(24:54):
um and surprisingly among some of the colleges you're looking at.
You know, you got Kentucky, you got Auburn, USC Oregon,
UCLA is in there. It wasn't there. I'm not sure
if they still are for for a little while. And
Howard University, Now Howard of course is a historically black college.
Uh and what what is your thinking as far as

(25:17):
considering them. You're going to visit there on October eleventh,
which is their homecoming weekend, so I know you're gonna
have fun on that weekend, But what why are you thinking?
You know, obviously most of the top players don't even
consider going to HBCUs why is Howard on your radar? Oh,

(25:37):
mister brassards. Um, things I go by, it's always there
to be, always there, to be different, to make a difference.
So you know, it's just giving in any situation. When
I came out here in high school, um, people ask
why don't you go to a top school? You know
I like to build from ground up. I went to school,
Well it wasn't you know, the players run as good,

(25:58):
but you know it's just my to leading to get
better than to win games. And ever since most colleges
heard that I might be going overseas, that kind of
backed off on my recruiting, and coach Kenny Blakeney kind
of reached out. And you know it's being recruiting me
hard and telling me that things come back, can happen
if I go there and it's really good things. Do

(26:19):
you I'm sorry, rob let me. You're from as as
Ed said, I mean you you lived in your family,
lived in Australia, your Sudanese, you know background. Do you
understand the significance you know of being that you're not,
you know, born in America and you know, do you
understand the significance of a top player such as yourself

(26:42):
if you went to an HBCU, how significant that would be,
uh into in the college basketball landscape. Yeah, I mean
I always look at it as why not you know,
I've kind of read the history about it, the HBCUs
A lot of you know, a lot of athletes came
out of the you know, the how University and it

(27:04):
did well for those jos in the top of a
lot of HBC used used to be the breeding ground
for the best players, you know, way back when and
UM transition out. So you know, I saw we were
talking about John Murant being a little merged state and
if you know, mergy state, if you can do it
in a merged state, you could do it. And it

(27:26):
all depends on the circumstances. Who's there to play with
you um he have, you know, and the opportunity there. Now,
the thing that Kenny has done, I'm from DC, so
you know, it's a little bit of you know, I
grew up in the area and Georgie Avenue is not
Georgia Avenue as it was before UM. But Kenny has
presented a plan. Kenny was that it was a duke

(27:47):
was at Harvard. You know, he's been on the grassrood circuit.
But what he's done is he's been respectful that mccore
has a choice that he could go pro or he
could to college. So he's preventing presented a platform where Okay,
I'm gonna compete against these entities that might be recruiting him,

(28:08):
and these are the reasons why your network and your
growth in your network, and these things can happen. And
you know, even speaking about him returning to get his
degree in a place you know, such just Washington, DC.
So he's he's supposed to be. He's been really diligent
and calling every more so than anybody else. You know,

(28:30):
every there are people who were recruiting hard early, but
once they felt that the NBA might be an option
or a pro might be an option, you know, it
got really quiet. But Kenny has just been diligent. He
calls me consistently and he's been working me out the
scenes and saying, hey, look, you know there's an opportunity
of the year. We have some great players coming in.

(28:52):
You have some players that red shirting and we're going
to let you play. At the end of the day,
it's basketball. Yeah, you know you want you know, you
like mccare year wants to push, right, you want to
push for if you go to to to to a university,
the option is going to be like to push for
a championship, elite, a Sweet sixteen. You want to push

(29:16):
you know, you want that opportunity to compete in the eye.
Couple were joined by high school superstar basketball player mccure
maker and his guardian Ed Smith. And I was just
gonna say, we've seen players, uh playoff at all kinds
of schools because, uh, scouts go anywhere there were good players.

(29:37):
It's not the school that makes the player. And I
think so many kids don't understand that if you're a
good player, I don't care where you play at, the
scouts will find you. We always talk about Joe Dumars, right,
Chris and McNee state. Right. He went on to have
a great career and when played at Jackson play at
Jackson State. He played seventeen years in the NBA. Scottie,

(30:01):
if you go you're right, and especially and mccoure I mean,
you're not an unknown obviously, you're on the radar of
the NBA. You know, the projections are that you will
be a lottery pick a year, you know, a year
or two from you know, when you come out. And
uh so they're yeah, they're definitely gonna follow you. Now,

(30:21):
let me a lot of people, you know, we've looked
at the Fab five that of course Jaylen Rose, Chris Webber,
Juwan Howard and a few other guys that went to
Michigan as freshman and turned the basketball world upside down
so to speak. Uh, if you and if you decide
to go to Howard and a few other blue chip

(30:43):
players went with you, uh, you know, the opportunity certainly
would be there to do something historic. Are you talking
or will you talk with any other you know, top
players in the country about maybe you know, going to
a school together and in this case, how oh yeah,
for sure, just for us to happen, I'll definitely you know,

(31:04):
reach out to some guys and you know, trying to
make this happen again, like you know, recreate history. Yeah,
that that'd be phenomenal. Man. And what do you think
I mean, you you know the college basketball scene. Well,
if indeed mccure decides to go to Howard and maybe
if he gets another top player or two to go

(31:26):
with him. How significant in your mind would that be
in reshaping maybe the basketball landscape. Well, I think, um,
based on what Kenny has there, because you can't really
go into the situation where the cupboards is bear, you know,
and then it's just like, oh, why did he do that?

(31:47):
You know, and so forth, because at the end of
the day, it's basketball. We're in the industry of basketball
and win in a series of winning. So you would
have to if you're bringing a few people along and
you and you look at what Kenny has in the
cupboard over there, you know, and there has to be
an opportunity that you guys have to have an opportunity

(32:07):
to win, to play a high level schedule. And I
think for that it would make guys following classes like, look,
you know, there's an opportunity year to do something really
really different and really enjoy the experience. There are certain
things that happened, you know, you know, by being around

(32:28):
a level of leadership because mccore, you know, he's from
from from the Sudan, so he's used to black leaders,
you know, African leaders, so he used to having that
within the community, so it's not something that's new to him. Um.
But it's something that he's been used to and so

(32:48):
for that it's there's a comfort level. It's not the
same if you went to a historically white university that
that would be an issue and so forth. Because you're
a partner so fide, you're in Australia, you know, you
have many other different you know, racists, everybody blends together
and try, you know, trying to work together. So but

(33:10):
making a move like that, why not, you know. But
at the end of the day, it has to be
his call. It has to be his call. It has
to be you know, a great opportunity there. So he
has to go look see what it's about, look at
the facilities. He has to take his other villains visit,
make his comparison and then comes down to it. But

(33:31):
you know, it's strong right now from what Kenny has
been putting forth and bringing together. What I love is
just the idea that it's an option. And I think
that's what we should start, if people would give other
schools and situations an option. And that's that's really at
the end of the day, it's your decision to make
and whatever make, whatever decision you make is cool. But

(33:53):
I think in the past, other people wouldn't even make
it even an option, and I love the idea of it.
So that's great. Well, Core and Ed great for joining.
We appreciate you joining us. Thanks a lot, and uh,
keep us posted on this. We'll be watching this and
uh mccore, you know, like I said, your game is tremendous.

(34:13):
I'm already a big fan and I do see you
got some swag, man, you got a little swag out there. Chris,
when you came out too, you spoke to the kids
and this is one of the things that we spoke
about leadership and this is what impressed mccore. Also, Um,
you came and spoke us to the kids that dream
vision right, and you know we I mean, we had

(34:36):
tremendous leadership over there. They made it happen for us,
you know, like Clay was looking at beyond basketball, you know,
and how how things are done beyond basketball, and for
you to come out there and speak to those kids,
you know, every once in a while, you know, you
have guys who tuned in. He tuned in, I tuned in,
and I we were like, wow, this is you know,

(34:58):
and you were talking about the experience that he said
I wanted to play basketball, you know, but you say,
I remember you talking telling Clay and the guys over
their dream vision that hey, look it's going to be
I'm I'm going to more basketball games. I'm more involved
in the sports and many of the guys who have

(35:18):
played and left fourth so there's just so much more
you can do and that type of leadership. I had
to say thank you for doing that, and I had
to say thanks to Clay that you know, at a
dream visions for a great season and what it did
for mccare in terms of shaping him in and getting him,
you know, to where he is right now, helping that process,

(35:41):
Well thanks a lot, gad for those kind words. And
it was a great experience and I saw McCarey and
several other top players that will be household names in
the very near future. So again, great, have you guys
on the show and keep keep us posted on what's
going on. And mccoure, like I said, my brother went

(36:01):
to Howard, I got plenty of cousins. It went to Howard,
You're gonna have plenty of fun on home coming weekend.
Just don't have too much fun. And mccour tell Chris,
just because you light skinny ain't gonna make it in
the NBA and be the next steph Curry all rights

(36:23):
appreciate a thank you. Be sure to catch live editions
of The Odd Couple with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker
weekdays at seven pm Eastern, four pm Pacific. Ain't Nobody's
still been a bomb? Shop? You know that? Ain't nobody?
Isn't it? You talk about whoever, whatever, whatever you want
to in the Bo's Shop talk. That's right, it is

(36:46):
shop Talk The Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio. First off,
congratulations to the Garrett family because of the birth of
their child. I am with you today, Ryan burschegar So
for today's topic. A Cleveland Brown's fan went viral earlier
in the week when after their win on Monday night,
he got an autograph from one Odell Beckham Junior on

(37:08):
his forearm. This fan then instantly took himself to a
tattoo parlor, didn't shower or anything, and made sure that
that autograph would then be engraved into his arm for
the rest of his life, getting a tattoo of the
receiver's autograph. So my question to you guys as simple,
do you guys have a tattoo. Did you ever consider
getting a tattoo? If you never got one, and if

(37:29):
somebody asked you to autograph them for a tattoo, would
you do it? Wow? Wow? Well, first of all, I
don't have any tattoos, and I've never even thought, i
mean remotely thought about getting a tatoo. Wow. It's not me.
I'm not into him at all, and if I were,

(37:53):
there is no way on guy's green earth I'm getting
another man's or woman's like name other than my wife
or mother or daughter tattooed on my body. Can't do
it Like I'm not getting a football player, basketball player, politician,
anybody like that name tattooed on me. I'm sorry. See

(38:15):
I'm lucky because I have a birthmark that looks like
Betty Boop or one of my Let me help you. No,
I'm wow, look at that. It was a good one.

(38:36):
It just it just took me a while to get it.
There you go, Thank you appreciate it. Uh No, I'm
with you. Just every was in the tattoos has not.
Tattoos weren't big, but we right right, we're coming up.
Not at all. If you were tattooed, you had to
be like a sailor or did you generally right? Seriously,
like one of the two. I'm that serious. No, that's right,

(38:57):
course seriously. I'm not trying to be funny. Yeah it would,
but that's real. That's what it was. You just didn't
see them regular people, so to speak. And now people
got them on their neck and their face. I just
I look at some people when I go, you know,
when you're like fifty five or sixty, what is that
gonna look like with the wrinkles? But I don't know.
You guys are younger millennials. Real quick, because Alex is

(39:20):
getting one. Yeah, go ahead out Yeah, Actually I am
on this weekend Sunday, I'm gonna go into one of
my buddy spots. I've been kind of kind of debating
this for a long time, but I've decided I want
to do it. I'm gonna get some Hebrew written on
the back of my neck. Wow, And I know what
it's gonna say. Yes, you want to tell the people, Chris,
you told me the chosen one. That's it. I'm self
embracing it. Wow. Very nice. All right. I like, hey,

(39:44):
that's not a bad one, all right. I have more
to say, though, I couple,
