at Dan Buyer on Fox. George is actually gonna be
joining us in about ten minutes or so, so you
got me just for the start of the show. Uh,
some car troubles, but thank goodness for the company that

(00:44):
has those three letters that are all the same. George
will be with us in no time. But it is
week fifteen in the National Football League season, and I
mentioned the four games in the window, but I want
to start that the show today with the game that
you heard the highlight and Monsey's update and that was
from the Jacksonville Dallas game. Because this game heading into today,

(01:08):
you're like, man, the Cowboys just go through, go through, Jacksonville,
and you can set yourself up for that showdown against
the Eagles coming up on Saturday on Christmas Eve. Cowboys
and Eagles, Dallas still having a shot at winning the
NFC East and the heck, I mean, who knows, if
things could have went crazy, maybe a shot at even

(01:28):
getting more. But the fact of the matter is is
the division was still up for grabs, and if the
Cowboys got a little bit of help and could get
take care of their own business next week, you never know,
never know. That didn't happen today because the Cowboys didn't
take care of their own business. This is not the

(01:48):
second week in around. I'm not putting the Texans of
the Jaguars in the same category because they're not, in fact,
Jacksonville's team that I kind of want to talk about.
Jacksonville is the team that right now has a shot
at when the a f C South and now when
I mentioned the games in these four windows, Ryan Tannehill
and the Titans out of the game for Tennessee today,

(02:09):
so it's the Malik Willets show. The rest of the way.
Chargers already have a lead on Tennessee, so Jacksonville could
be sitting there just a game out of first place.
With another matchup against the Titans coming up in week
eighteen that could be for all the marbles in the
a f C South. But back to Dallas just for
a second, because these are the things that worry you,

(02:29):
These are the things that have you scratch your head.
And I don't know if it's a Mike McCarthy thing.
I don't know if it's a Kellen Moore thing. But
for back to back weeks, as we had circled on
the calendar, that showdown on Christmas Eve between the Cowboys
and Eagles that was just kind of slept walk through.
These two games. Needed a touchdown in the final minute

(02:52):
to top Houston last week at home. Again, I'm not
putting Tech the Texans and the Jaguars in the same boat.
Cowboys came in about four point favorite for today's game
in Jacksonville. But the Cowboys had opportunities and they didn't
put the Jaguars away. In fact, they had an opportunity
at the end of the game and the regulation where

(03:13):
Trevor Lawrence ends up making a play scrambling where you
think they could get in the field goal range and
what ends up happening Lawrence fumbles, Cowboys recover, takeover possession.
Jaguars had all three other time out so the Cowboys
just need to get ten yards and game is over.
They don't get ten yards. Punt of fact to Jacksonville
sets up a game time field goal. And then you

(03:33):
heard the defensive turnover in the overtime after Dallas. By
the way, uh ended up getting a stop. They lost
the toss. Jaguars getna stop. But there's just something about
Dallas just a little little bit off. And I don't
know if they take the pedal, their their foot off
the gas pedal. I don't know if sometimes they just

(03:54):
think that they're better than the teams that they're playing
so that they can maybe coast through through situations. But
Dallas should be able to run the ball on anybody.
Despite the issues that they've had on the offensive line,
they've shown that Tony Pollard's been hasn't been a revelation
because Tony Pollard has been good for the last couple
of seasons, but he really has emerged as such a

(04:15):
weapon for Dallas. And then you have the physical style
of Ezekiel Elliott, and Dallas had opportunities in this game
to put this thing away, but for some reason they don't.
And it's not an Odell Beckham Junior problem. Odell Beckham
Junior doesn't help them in this scenario. In fact, Odell
Beckham Jr. Probably Makes it more complicated for for the Cowboys.

(04:36):
But just for whatever reason it is, the Cowboys just
seemed to hold back a little bit when everything that
they had to play for. They had to get a
win today to make next week important against the Eagles,
you have to win today. You have to win against
the Texans. They barely did it against Houston. They barely
did it today. And so there's when we talk about

(04:57):
Super Bowl contenders. Alas can beat anybody on any Sunday.
But the the the issue that I just find with
Dallas is when do they just turn it on when
they want to? Can they turn it on when they
need to? And when you're in the playoffs, you have
to be on on on on on on on and
right now that is not Dallas, and the last two

(05:19):
weeks have showed it. Maybe it's gonna be a different
story next week, but you know what it next week
is it doesn't matter as much. Philadelphia is now. I mean,
I mean it's it's cake City. Yeah, you may want
to prove that you're the beast of the NFC East,
but the Eagles are gonna win the division, so do I.
Dallas is gonna have to navigate the playoffs as a
wild card. And and and that is my issue with Dallas.

(05:40):
Now on the Jaguar shot of thing and tim of
the captain, Greg Olsen, who is on the broadcast today
for Fox is the lead analysts the number one crew,
by the way, to tell you on on where these
cowboys are. The Jaguars got the number one Fox crew.
That that's what we had, so we know that the
cowboys are in it when the number one Fox crew
is going everywhere and footing Jacksonville. But greg Olson made

(06:02):
a point in the in the drive of the final
in regulation talking about Trevor Lawrence and being like, this
is this is his arrival moment. And I had completely
agreed with what greg Olson was saying. With Trevor Lawrences,
this was his opportunity to put his stamp to say
I've arrived. Look at all the young quarterbacks that we
talked about in the National Football League, and we talked

(06:23):
about their development, and we talked about what they mean
to their team. Just think about it too. I'm talking
about law last night, Justin Herbert playing today. Zach Wilson
got the start for the Jets, Justin Fields and the Bears.
We don't know what his future is. These are all
young quarterbacks and we are constantly having conversations about and
what they mean for their organization, what it means for
their future. We never ever ever talked about what Trevor

(06:45):
Lawrence is doing. He was the first overall pick of
the one draft, number one overall. Not only was he
number one overall, it was a no brainer on on
what Trevor Lawrence was going to He was the first
overall pick. As soon as he uh let Clemson and
it was in the NFL Draft. There was no doubt
that that who, Who's Who's going to be the first

(07:07):
overall pick. But we don't talk about the progression. And
that's what made today so big is Trevor Lawrence had
the late fumble, but he stepped up to the plate.
Tells you what coaching does as well. You don't think
coaching matters obviously, what Doug Peterson has been able to
do now with with weapons around Trevor Lawrence as well,
there could be an offense, and who knows what's going

(07:29):
to happen in the a f C South. But you
look at that division. Who knows what's happening with the
Titans who seemingly are kind of falling apart. Who knows
what's going to happen with the Colts who seemed to
be an absolute disarray after yesterday's embarrassment. And then who
knows how long the build is going to be for
the Houston Texans. But you talk about statement when and
when did the Jacksonville Jaguars arrive? They arrived in week

(07:52):
fifteen season. Yeah, the division is still up for grabs.
It may not matter, but there are certain wins that
you point to. And I have the d fence who
did give up thirty four points on the day to
be able to give that opportunity to make a play
on a deflected ball for Dallas and run it back
for a touchdown. Just an absolute monumental day for the Jaguars.
And when the Cowboys let slip through their fingers. It

(08:16):
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio again. George Riceter is
gonna be here. I'm gonna get you up to date
of what's happening in the National Football League Raiders have
taken a ten three lead on the Patriots. Welcome back
Darren Waller. Derek Carr hit him from twenty five yards out.
Extra point is good. Four minutes to go in the
first half, and the Raiders and Josh McDaniels have a
lead over Bill Belichick in the New England Patriots. As

(08:38):
for what's happening in l A, the Charges continue to
lead the Titans seven to nothing. Two injury scenarios here.
Ryan Tannehill back in the game for the Titans, so
it won't be the Malique Willows show the rest of
the way. Tannehill actually hit Derrick Henry with a little
passed out of the backfield that went for big yardage
and now the Titans are knocking on the door in

(09:00):
side the red zone for the uh of of the Charges.
So the Titans now a first in goal at the
Chargers four yard line. But it's l A up seven
to nothing. In that game, Austin Ekeler did get dinged
up an apparent arm injury. Will keep you update it
on his status. As for the Buccaneers and Bengals, I

(09:20):
love Tampa in this spot. I loved Tampa today off
of that embarrassment from last week. Again, Tom Brady may
have been the face of what happened last week, but
that defense gives up thirty five points to Brock Purdy.
And I know Brock Purdy is all the rage, but
this defense has some pride. Tod Bowles is the head

(09:42):
coach of the Buccaneers. That's his defense out there, and
another there are pieces missing for for the Buccaneers, but
you don't give up thirty five points. And right now
the Buccaneers defense is getting after Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
It's ten nothing Tampa. Early in the second quarter. Tom
Brady hit Russell Gauge on a one yard touchdown pass

(10:02):
to give Tampa that ten point lead, and in fact,
the Buccaneers have just sat Joe Burrow for a significant loss.
And now it's going to be second down in twenty
for Cincinnati early in the second quarter and then the
game of the day. Um, I'm just kidding, but the
Cardinals and Broncos are tied up at three at the

(10:23):
two minute warning, which is so absolutely fitting. And the Cardinals,
by the way, and I know you don't know this
because you're listening to us on the I Heart radio app.
You're listening on your phone, maybe you're listening in the car,
listening in your local affiliate. The Cardinals are wearing the
worst uniforms in the National Football League. Like, you take
every single uniform that you have in the NFL, and

(10:45):
the Cardinals road uniforms with their maroon pants are the
absolute worst. The Buccaneers even wearing their stupid pewter uniforms
today and they look ten times better than what the
Cardinals do. The Cardinals uniform looks like it's straight to
there needs to be something done with this look. I
think we're gonna get it soon. But their uniforms match

(11:07):
the type of game we've got. It's not Russell Wilson
and Kyler Murray. It's Brett Ribbon against Cole mccolt McCoy.
And that's why three three at the two minute warning.
While we were going through all that, Derrick Henry did
cash in for the Titans a touchdown run from four
yards out. Titans have tied things up with the Chargers
at seven apiece. It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
I'm Dan Buyer. The NFL VET George Rice Stir will

(11:30):
be joining us in just a little bit. We're also
gonna get George's opinion on his thoughts on who's the
superb Owl in the National Football League. You're wondering get
that is? Well's explain later on. But coming up next,
why today is so so important for one NFL team
and how the heck does the NFL follow up what

(11:50):
we had yesterday? All that and more, plus a look
at your fantasy football numbers. That's next on Fox Sports Radio.

Those ball toward the ends all potball touch stops Tampa
Bay Russell Gage at the pilot fire of a carbage
busley tying to nothing. Now back live to the studios
of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red soone Radio,

(13:27):
Buccaneers Radio Network on that call. Welcome in. It is
Fox Sports Radio. He's George Rice stir the NFL Vets.
You got me, Dan Buyer. Get George on Twitter at
George rice Ster. Fund me on Twitter at Dan Buyer
on Fox. Quick update from all the games. Titans and
Chargers still tied at seven bolts facing a third and

(13:47):
three from near midfield, and they have converted and are
now in Titens territory. As Keenan Allen is coff the
ball from Justin Herbert that barn Burner in Denver continues
tied up at three apiece with thirty seconds left to go.
It appears that Cardinals may have just forced a Denver

(14:08):
turnover at midfield thirty four seconds left in that one.
Ryan suck Up has just missed a field goal for
the Buccaneers from about fifty yards out, so Cincinnati will
take over tend nothing game. Tampa in the lead with
that one. Well, the Patriots trying to add some points
before the half, facing a third and eleven with a
buck twenty three left to go from their own forty

(14:31):
two yard line. But it's the Raiders up on New
England by a score of ten to three. The wheel
is on and George is in. George Rice stir is here.
Are you safe? Everything good now with the vehicle? I
know in an emergency situation. So so I text one
of my friends right in the UH process and and

(14:54):
his response was, bro, what's wrong with you? How you
don't know how to change a tire? I'm like, Uh,
First of all, the answer to that is absolutely astoundingly yes. Um.
The The other problem is is that George had a
full size Uh. I have a full size spare underneath

(15:17):
my truck. Problem is is that about two years ago
we went on a trip and I put the full
side big because of the the full size spare has
the same rim on it as the rest of them.
So and we were driving to Vegas, and we had
had a flat like a couple of years ago, and

(15:37):
and um I put it back on, no problem. And
guess what I did. I didn't put it back in. Yeah.
I never got it fixed. So so when it came
time to to today, I like pull it down. I'm like, okay, cool,
And I'm like oh no, oh no. Like you know

(16:02):
how you flash back to a moment a few years prior,
and you were like and and and all, and and all.
All I could hear was that thing that happens in
movies like Dad, And You're wondering how I ended up here,
how I ended up in this situation. Uh, the whole

(16:22):
scenario just rewound right in your face. Is that what
what took you to the flashback? Yes? Yes, but because
I was like, oh god, I was supposed to I
was supposed to go get it fixed. But you know,
uh that uh that gives you I just I mean,

(16:42):
that's that's par for my life though, that I need
to write things down and set set reminders and stuff
like that. The way stuff like this does not happen. Well,
while you, while you were telling the story, something happened
that hasn't happened in a long time George. For the
first time in four games, the Raiders have blocked a punt,

(17:03):
and they just did it against the Patriots. So the
Raiders now with that seven point lead, taking over the
football at the New England twenty yard line. That had
a five yard penalty, so it's backed up to the
twenty five. But the Raiders with an opportunity to add
some points. They have all three time outs so that
you can use the entire field, but now it's down
to about nineteen seconds, got about half the distance back.

(17:25):
So the Raiders up seven in that contest, while the
Cardinals seemingly have been at midfield forever since turning the
football over, since forcing a turnover of the Broncos, and
unable to do anything with it. And and I want to,
I almost want to. You know what I'm gonna do.
I want to bring up a point about Russell Wilson
in today's game to you, and just a bit, I

(17:45):
want to get a look at some fantasy numbers. Though
Bow Benson, our executive producer, is here. He's got some
of our fantasy while we always start out positive, some
of our fantasy hits for Week fifteen. All right, let's
uh we're gonna do this, uh quick, Yeah, We're just
gonna do a dry yeah and missus. Al Right, guys,

(18:14):
So today we're gonna start by going back twenty four
hours see yesterday's games. Uh Josh Allen of the Bills,
why are we doing yesterday's game? We know what happened yesterday. Yeah,
I know, but I think it's worth mentioning Josh Allen's
big day four touchdowns, Kirk Cousins, I'm not gonna not

(18:34):
mention him four hundred sixty yards passing and four touchdowns
from him in that big comeback. Then to today, we
have Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs three six yards passing,
two touchdowns and a comeback win for the Chiefs and
Jalen Hurts of the Eagles three fifty yards passing two interceptions,
but he made it up with sixty one yards rushing
and three touchdowns um wide receiver wise A Jones of

(18:55):
the Jaguars, big day from him, six receptions for a
hundred nine yards and three touchdowns. A J. Brown of
the Eagles he had a nine receptions for one and
eighty one yards receiving, and his battery mate, Uh wow,
I'm gonna blank his name right now, Christian Kirk, No,
Damante Smith, Yeah, yeah, yeah, he had I think five

(19:16):
or six receptions today for a hundred and twenty five
yards and the Eagles went over the Bears. Uh. Kind
of a quiet day for running backs though, And I
don't know if there's anybody really that's jumped into my head.
If you guys have any running backs that had big days,
go ahead, No, I I did not, there are I
got bamn knighted um. I played, uh, I played the
Jets running back Tony Pollard didn't have a great day.

(19:38):
Jerk McKinnon probably the best day to day, Yes, yes,
Kirk cousins man, how can you not mention him? That's
a big day from him, isn't isn't this year insane
for a fantasy like you don't you know? I mean,
I guess Tyler Algier had a good game seventeen for
one thirty nine and a touchdown. But like you look

(20:00):
across the league, like there's not a lot of you know, like,
oh man, that new went went off performances in the
NFL this year. Yeah, Josh jacobs um maybe one of
those you know, mixing had that crazy crazy games. But
but yeah, other than that miles, other than those two games. Yeah, yeah, no,

(20:23):
you're you're You're right, Like I almost looked at this
year is like a disappointing like year for Dalvin cook
Um and then I looked and he was sixth and rushing,
and it's it's had on my fantasy team. Yes, it's
been hugely disappointing because he's averaging like seventy three yards

(20:44):
a game. You know, I mean, like that sort of
behavior will get you, uh first, I mean sixth in
the league this year. Yeah, it's it's it hasn't you know.
You know, Dalvin cook had the you know, great game
yesterday as well, but still like it's there haven't been
the tons of moments from from running backs. Yeah, you're

(21:08):
absolutely right. You look at the you know, the wide
receiver position, you know, it's a I mean, I mean,
we we look at through the eyes of fantasy football
like so much. But if you drafted Justin Jefferson, if
you drafted Tyreek Kill, if you drafted Stefon Diggs, if
you drafted Davante Adams, they all live. They've all produced,

(21:29):
Browns produced. What was just talking about Travis Kelsey at
the tight end position. You know, even cebe Lamb got
off to a slow start, but he's starting to turn
it up. And dude, I just really realized Dary Waller
is playing football again. He is, and well you were
talking with Triple A. He got in the end zone.

(21:50):
So yeah, so not only is he playing football, he
scored and the Raiders just got in the end zone
as well. Uh Mansy will be here in a little
bit to tell you how that went out. It it is,
it is. It is very unique. You also with with
Hill and Jefferson and having there, you know, Justin Jefferson

(22:10):
is you know, still on pace and on track to
set the single season you know, receiving records. So we
are so like those guys in those names like standing
up and and producing. You almost don't I don't want
to say, pay no mind to it, but it's you
don't beat an eye. It's like, all right, okay, yeah,
I guess what Justin Jefferson at a buck eight three,

(22:33):
you know, like you like, all right, it's kind of
funny in that aspect because they've done what they've done
and some of the running backs you've been waiting for
those huge monster games and it's just it's just not
like that anymore. You know, like you're just you're not
going to You're you're not going to get that except
maybe from Derrick Henry every now and then, or a
Josh Jacobs or there, maybe you know, the one off

(22:56):
Joe Mixing game. But you even look at what the
Bengals are right now as a team. They they've got
their own two headed monster with Mixing and Somaj p Rhin.
So when Mixing was out, p Ryan comes in and
he does his thing. So it's it's very running back
position and in fantasy football in the National Football League
is taking you know, quite the interesting turn, that is

(23:19):
for sure. Get George on Twitter at George Ricester. Can
find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Foxes. We
are live from the tirac dot Com studios. Let's go
to the news desk Montlos giving us an update of
what's happening in Vegas and all the other games going
on right now. Yeah, Vegas. I wish I was in Vegas,
will be I'm so excited. I'm so excited, But I

(23:39):
do wish I was there already. I'm not gonna lie
because I'm not ready for Christmas. I'm not ready for
the end of the year. I'm just not ready for
anything that I need to do in these next couple
of days, and I think I'm just not gonna do it.
How are you guys doing? Deadline will be a past
I'm I'm getting there. I am getting there. Yes, Oh good, good,
George back Yes, man, that you were purposely avoiding me.

(24:04):
Why would I be purposely You don't want to talk
about the Clippers because played a couple of games. Don't
get me started. And then he sat and I just
I can't but but but man, I am sad because
I was. I was fooled. I I had just bought into,

(24:27):
like Joe, this dude is actually going to be healthy
this year. He's playing his best basketball since he's been
a Laker. And I'm like, okay, he's gonna be fine.
Oh my gosh, I'm and then I'm like, oh damn.
And then they were like he avoided an injury, and
I'm like, okay, like a day to day or something,

(24:49):
and then today a month infinite, infinite, several weeks Anthony
Davis out for the Lakers. Don't snore on us. Did
I tell you about the dream that I had? Did
I tell you about the this. I haven't talk about this.
I ain't a dream that we took two minutes talking
about the Clippers from Lakers, and like it was like
in the dream, it was like week fifteen of the

(25:10):
NFL season and there's all these great tight games going on,
and we're talking about the NBA Christmas Day games. Yet
this is a weird dream. And John Ramos was there
and he's never there, almost like John Ramos is there,
and Bill Benson was there and then both started giving
fantasy stats like the day before. It was so weird.

(25:34):
It was such a whack dream, George. And then George
shows up. He wasn't on the show at first because
he's like, my tire blew out. It was such a
weird dream. We maybe maybe you need to lower your expectations.
Your expectations of us are way too high. Right, Oh,

(25:56):
that's a good one. That's a good one. Okay, alright,
Vegas Raider. They managed to score again right before halftime
because Derek Carr found wide receiver mcahollins in the end zone,
so they're beating the Patriots seventeen to three at halftime.
The Cardinals also scored at halftime with the field goal.
They're beating the Broncos six to three. The Titans and
the Chargers are tied at seven apiece with less than

(26:16):
two minutes to go in the first half. And where
is Joe Burrow because I need him for my fantasy?
Uh sir? Right now the Buccaneers are killing the Bengals.
Not really, but I feel like I'm being killed because
Joe Burrow hasn't done anything. Ten zero is the score,
two and a half minutes to go in the first half.
The games that have already ended. The Eagles added another
one to their win column. They beat the Bears twenty

(26:40):
five to twenty. Now, justin Fields, I know that the
Bears lost, but he rushed for ninety five yards and
became the third quarterback in NFL history to rush for
one thousand yards in a season. He also threw for
a hundred and fifty two yards and two touchdowns. The
Saint scored first, and really they never looked back. That
they never looked back. They beat the Falcons eighteen. The
Lions they would another one, outscoring the Jets seventeen. Another

(27:03):
m v P week for Jared Goff, who threw for
two hundred and fifty two yards and a touchdown noe picks.
The Steelers held on to beat the Panthers twenty four
to sixteen. And oh the Jaguars and the Cowboys, that
was a fun one. Ray Sean Jenkins wins the game
for the Jaguars with the pick six in overtime to
beat the Dallas Cowboys forty to thirty four. The Chiefs

(27:23):
they won in overtime also against the Texans, and they
secured their seventh consecutive a f C West title, the
fifth team to officially clinch a playoff spot this season.
Back to you, Dan and George. Thank you very much.
Monz get Her on Twitter at Moncy Bolano. So you
know this Lions team, George, and it's not just Jared

(27:44):
Goff obviously, and I'm not saying that Monty was saying it.
We always have a Jared Goff discussion here. But it
is interesting on how in the NFL, as long as
your your defense can do something just you know, just
provide something that you can make great gains. There are

(28:06):
some teams that just they don't have anything. They can't
stop the run, they can't stop the past, they don't
force turnovers, they don't get after the quarterback. And that
was the Lions kind of at the start of the year.
They've but they've they've tightened the strings. Aiden Hutchinson is
having a good year. He's getting after the quarterback. Um

(28:27):
I mentioned I joked about Bamn Knight earlier in the game.
Kept the Jets running game in check and and and soil.
Now the Lions are sitting there seven and seven, and
I don't know a person that is rooting against the
Lions to make the playoffs. And I'm rooting for them. Yes, yes, dude.
I thought that this was going to be one a

(28:49):
clown show, a clown show when he first got the job.
Oh man, we we laughed at his press conference and
everything else. And uh and now he has his team
playing good football. And the man that I have defended
will not be drafted over in Jared Golf. He's he's

(29:13):
looking like a good answer at quarterback. Bro I'm feeling
real good about this situation right now. Dan and and
I'm hoping And one of my former teammates, Aaron Glenn
is their defensive coordinator. Dan Campbell is a former tight end.
Like they have players. I like they got pen a

(29:34):
sewl up there, Aid Aidan Hutchinson, how can I how
can I dislike this? So? Yeah, so I'm in on
everything they're doing right now. It's very difficult. The question
that they have is not not too different than what
the Seahawks will have, is if you feel like you

(29:54):
are making strides and and maybe more so for the
Lions because I mean the there you mentioned a lot
of the young pieces that they have. But now you're
saying to yourself, all right, if you have a top
five pick, which it looks like they're going to have.
I know there's still still games to play, and that's
the top five pick from the Rams. It's not gonna

(30:17):
be number one. So Texans are gonna have that to themselves.
But the Bears won't need a quarterback and they're gonna
be picking. So you have the Seahawks and Lions there
and Cardinals are having a bad season and could be
picking high as well, but they're not gonna move away
from Kyler Murray to draft a quarterback, like there's gonna
be a quarterback to there's quarterbacks to draft. C J.
Stroud's gonna be available. Um. I know a lot of

(30:39):
people are are torn on Will Levis, but he's gonna
be available. The question is if you're Detroit, just like
Seattle as the question of you know, do you move
on from Gino Smith? Because the question is how many
times do you have an opportunity to draft they franchise
like quarterback And so if you're if you're Detroit and

(30:59):
you're sending there, you know at three or four, I mean,
I'm sure it'd be great to have. I mean, could
you imagine the defensive line of was Jalen Carter and
Adan Hutchinson? Like it would be to be great. But again,
like if you want to take it to the next
level with the weapons that you have and DeAndre Swift
and amandas St Brown like, but the if you are,

(31:24):
if you're them, what do you really need? I mean,
if if we're really being being honest, what what does
this team need? They need defense? Right? Sure? Because there
there their offenses just fine. Their their opfens is thirty
points a game. So Jared Golf is doing a good
job there. So so I imagine how many more games

(31:48):
that Detroit would have would have won if they had
a good defense. I don't I'm not even talking about
you know, number like like San Francisco's defense. I'm saying, like,
if you just give them the Bucks defense, or even
Sincecinnati's defense, yeah, that's a better one because I'd love
to have the Bucks defense, even after what they did

(32:08):
last week. But you know what I'm just saying, like
like like they're not that's the best in the league,
but they're you know, they can they can give you
a hard time sometimes. But yeah, and that's that's what
I mean by just do something they get the like
the like the defense, like they their defense wasn't doing anything.
You're right, they do need they need more pieces on defense.

(32:32):
It's just the fact of when you get that opportunity.
And again they've got you know, they've got their own
first round pick that would be later on in the draft,
you know, like so so like you know, like you're
gonna draft two first rounders. It's just a question of
do you use it on that quarterback? Um and the
And that's the tough part because the I think that

(32:55):
if you stick with Jared Goff and if you stick
with Gino Smith and not to make this a draft
conversation because the Lions are in the thick of it,
and all lines fans want to do is talk about
the playoffs. Don't want to talk anything about uh, you know,
about the NFL draft. But it's it's just the point
of if you don't draft quarterback and you stick with
Jared Goff and all of a sudden, maybe there's you know,

(33:17):
some you know, tarnish on that shine that that they
had from this year. Now you're like, man, now, how
are you going to get a quarterback? So that's it's
it's the only thing. It's we probably shouldn't even be
talking about it. Actually feel bad because Lions fans all
they wanted to talk about was their fun team in
in the possibility of playoffs. That it is interesting when

(33:39):
you talk about Jared Goff's situation on what they what
they should do. The Titans, by the way, it just
forced to turn over an interception in the end zone,
a bit of volleyball um where a ball was tipped
by Titans defender and then tip back in bounds and
the the Titans. It's now gonna be viewed, but this

(34:02):
would be a devastating turnover for the Chargers who are
looking to add points and we're in definite field goal,
arrange a first intent from the twenty yard line. Uh,
playing a little tipball, not necessarily unlike what Michael uh
Crab trade to face against the Seahawks in that NFC
Championship game when Richard Sherman tipped to uh to Malcolm Smith.
But this was a much more like concerted plan by

(34:24):
Tennessee to keep it in bound and it is gonna stand.
So the Chargers wasting some points, yes, absolutely, Buccaneers got
on the end zone again. Tom Brady with another touchdown
passes second of the game, this time to Chris Godwin
five yards out. All Buccaneers seventeen nothing, nine sconds to
go until halftime. They're just started away in the second half.

(34:46):
Cardinals up on the Broncos six to three, and as
we mentioned, Titans and Chargers tied at seven. Titans taking
knee and go Toto the locker room. Raiders continue to
leave the Patriots seventeen to three. Get George on Twitter
at George rice To. You can find me on Twitter
at the and buyer on Fox. As we are live
from the Tire IRAQ dot com studios. I went in
none of the Dallas Cowboys that lost today to the

(35:06):
Jacksonville Jaguars. We'll get George's thoughts here next year on
Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio, and
we've got the place that you may have missed. Here's
the staff quick how of pastor God? But God behind
the block time? So the end zone touchdown, Tampa Bay
Buccaneers take sixteen on the leaves. Now back live to

(35:31):
the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red
Zone Radio. It's a Fox Football Sunday. He's George rice Stir.
I'm Dan Buyer, that highlight critici of the Buccaneers radio network.

(35:53):
Second touchdown passing the day for Tom Brady. Extra point
was good. Bengals did at a field goal at the
end of the half. So it's seventeen to three Tampa
on top of Cincinnati. Also a seventeen three game in
Las Vegas. Raiders up on the Patriots early in the
second half. New England facing a third and six from midfield.
They're at the half in l A. Told you about
the Titans getting that turnover on the Chargers. They're not

(36:15):
up at seven, while the Cardinals have the football near
midfield and Colt McCoy just had to leave the game
for Arizona on a run. Yeah, he dove for a
first down, ended up needed to be helped off. So
Cardinals down to the third string. I Trace McSorley is

(36:35):
in for Even if you had told people at the
beginning of the season that when the when Arizona and
Denver plays, oh, it's gonna be Tracey McSorley versus Brett Rippon, Dudes,
Rippon doesn't stand and damn chance, bro If Russell Wilson

(36:56):
can't be successful in this terrible offense, what chance does
he have? No? Well, that's what I think is interesting
because this is a winnable game. This is a winnable
game for Denver. I don't know they're going to win
this game. But you want to talk about what was
a bad year for Russell Wilson When you have Arizona

(37:18):
coming to town after just pushing the Chiefs to the limit.
I know they spotted them twenty seven points last week,
but still was a competitive game and Russell bringing them
back all of a sudden, Now Russell Wilson's knocked out,
they choose as an organization to not play you and say, hey,
Brett Rippons gonna be our guy. Like if the Broncos
were to beat the Cardinals today, it's it's not because

(37:40):
Russell Wilson didn't play, but that would be a narrative
and it wouldn't be a quarterback controversy because obviously Russell
Wilson's the guy George, But it would just be like
another item on the pile of things that has gone
wrong for Russell Wilson that Denver would win a game.
They're losing right now and the Cardinals are in Denver territory,
so maybe it's not going to happen, but you think

(38:03):
of what's been a bad year for for Russell Wilson.
To see his backup come in and actually win a
football game when that's just been so difficult for Denver
would be like icing on the cake for what would
be an awful for Wilson. Oh yeah, oh yeah, did that? Yeah,
but we are we already know that that's not gonna happen. Um,
But dude, the quarterback situations in the league this year

(38:27):
are just absolutely astounding. And what oh man, this is
This is a conversation that we've had with Adam Kaplan before,
you know, our NFL insider and turning and talking about
like there's not thirty two good quarterbacks in the league,
and and like there's and and and some and some

(38:48):
of the better ones are on the same team, like
like like like they're like there are a couple of
backup situations where they're backup is better than some people's starter. Sure, sure,
look a look at what Jacoby Brissette did in Cleveland,
Like you know, like like when when he and I'm

(39:08):
not saying like when Jacoby Brissette starts a seventeen game
schedule for a team, it's probably not he's not their
quarterback of the future. But when he comes in and
needs to take over the first two thirds of the season,
because Deshaun Watson's now on the team, He's made quite

(39:29):
a name for himself. It's pretty unique. I mean when
he came in yesterday and I joked on Twitter, I
didn't remember a play from Ravens Brown. So the one
player I remember was in Jacoby Brissette came in on
a on a short yardage play in the stadium erupted.
You know, it's funny on how how it's how that
situation is one that's transformed. But yeah, you go down

(39:50):
the list, like you see Zack Wilson today, you know,
I mean, I don't even have to play a great
play at fourth down late in the game. But yeah,
I just it's it's he It wasn't like he still
wasn't good today. Like that's the cold part about it
is that is with Zack Wilson is that they're gonna

(40:10):
be some people that are like he threw for three
hundred and seventeen yards and two to two touchdowns. He
is a changed man. But when you watched the game,
you're like, when when really that change? He made a
heck of a play on a fourth down to keep
their their hopes alive late, but then the hopes were
dashed by the defense. Derek Carr just threw a pick

(40:32):
six and one of the easiest pick sixes you'll ever see,
a pass out in the flat intended for Davante Adams
never made it to it. Kyle Dugger with the pick six,
so the Patriots moving within his score and Matt Prator
has kicked a field goal for the Cardinals, making it
nine three against the Broncos. Coming up next the Cowboys
with a tough, tough loss or was it a huge

(40:52):
one for the Jaguars. We'll get Georgia's thoughts next year
on Fox Sports Radio. Tampa Bay. Buccaneers just tried to
run a fake punt. Tried is the key word. Welcome
in we are broadcasting live from the tirac dot Com studios.

(41:17):
Geovanni Bernard was the intended target of the direct snap.
Was it ready for it? I don't know if you
knew that it was happening. George maybe didn't know the
snap count, but anyway, it caught him off guard. Ball
went fumbling around. Buccaneers end up taking over in Tampa territory.

(41:37):
So now Joe Burrow and the Buccaneers have it first
in goal at the Tampa six yard line after a
Burrow scamper um. So that game in Tampa now becoming
more of a ball game, which when it was all
Tampa pretty much in the first half. Now the Bengals
trying to show some life as they are knocking on
the door. Uh, Buccaneers had the game in control, Bank

(42:00):
is out of the late field goal. You try to
run a fake punt. I don't know why you would
do that. But they did, and now they are paying
for it. Ye hey man, decisions the thing that they
told us that the UM one of those sessions that
the NFL, well sorry, at the NFL Rookie Symposium. Choices, decisions, consequences,

(42:25):
and that's literally where the uh the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
are right now. Choices, decisions, consequences, and they're the Bengals
are gonna face a third and goal from about the
three and a half yard line. Is the second down
pass from Joe Burrow falls incomplete, but it's one of
four games going on right now. Colt McCoy and that

(42:48):
Cardinals game out of the game with a concussion, so
he is not going to return. It's show that's I
wasn't sure what exactly happened, but they're calling it. Uh.
It can cush the helmet straight to the up so
I thought it was his I thought it was his
hip or his back, so he he won't be back.
Trace McSorley will be in the rest of the way.
Denver does have the football in Arizona territory, but the

(43:10):
Cardinals are up six after that pick six, Raiders can't
do anything with their possessions, so they've just punted it
back to New England, but they're gonna have a long
way to go as the Raiders have down it at
the one yard line. Raiders love to celebrate those punts, Um,
but hopefully they do better on this possession than they
did against the Rams and Baker Mayfield, because Uh, we

(43:33):
saw Baker Mayfield and then go ninety eight yards for
the score last week. Patriots are gonna have to go
ninety nine yards that they want to get into the
end zone as the Raiders have them pinned back deep
while the Titans and Chargers, he's heard Mazzy say, still
tied up at seven, George, while you were trying to
get your whole tire scenario Um situated on the side
of the freeways in Los Angeles. I waited on the

(43:55):
Cowboys and Jaguars at the start of the show, and
I I wanted to give the Jaguars their flowers. I
think they deserve it. I think that Trevor Lawrence uh
deserves it. Even though he had a play that could
have cost them the game. Luckily for him, his defense
bailed him out, and then his defense bailed out the
entire team with the turnover and the pick six that

(44:16):
ends up being the score that decides the game. But
this is the second straight week that the Cowboys have
played a beatable opponent and have have gone down to
the wire, and this time they were burned by their actions.
And this is my like, this is the issue with
the Cowboys when we are talking about contenders and we're
talking about teams. We've been pointing to this Eagles game

(44:39):
on Christmas Eve, partly because we felt that the Cowboys
would be able to navigate their schedule to make the
Eagles game an interesting one, a competitive one, a meaningful one.
But now Dallas has four losses. The Eagles still just
have their one. The Eagles could lose to Dallas next
week and end up you know, wrapping up the you know,

(44:59):
the the UH Division a week later, or you know
whatever you would need. The point is is Dallas needed
to win these two games here against the Texans and
against the Jaguars to make that game against the Eagles important.
Get it all sixty minutes to beat the Texans. And
then today they jump out to a lead against Jacksonville,
I have some turnovers, let them back into the ball game,

(45:22):
ended up losing in overtime and there's just there seems
to be the field. The point that I made is
when you're Dallas like, you can't be you know, on
and off the gas pedal. You know, we're better than
this team. We could turn it on like they just
they just need to run over teams they just didn't.
You know you you you've now about the Houston Texans

(45:42):
last week, you are right this week, I can't say that.
I can't say that you can't turn on the gas
against this Jaguars team because this team is now a problem. Dan.
This is not just this is not this is not
your uh, this is not your grandfather's Jackson. George Rice

(46:06):
stirs Jacksonville Jack. Well, well, we went to the playoffs
a couple of years. We were a stronger couple of years,
but the majority of the years not so much. But yeah,
this team was a doormat like and and you saw
that throughout the season that they have just continued to build,
especially as Trevor Lawrence has continued to get better and

(46:29):
last year he was dealing with absolute chaos. Dude, I
mean he like I gave him a complete mulligan for
last season and then you ended up with him playing
so much better, and people were confused. They were like,
how is this dude playing playing better? And he's not
that good. I was like, bro, he's fine. This is

(46:52):
essentially his rookie year. He was dealing with a saboteur
last year, and now we're seeing the the team figure
because the roster is still the wide receiver group is
pretty good. But aside from that, like, there's still a
lot of holes in this roster, a lot of holes
in this roster, but now you see that this team.

(47:13):
If you don't, if you do not, if the Dallas
Cowboys don't bring their They're A plus game, I'm sorry
if they don't bring their A game. If you show
up with your A minus game or your B plus
game and Jacksonville brings their A game, you are gonna
have a problem on your hands. I I don't disagree
with that with with the Jaguars, but the problem is

(47:35):
is the Cowboys are up to ten in this game
midway through the third quarter and they let a long
touchdown go and then that gets picked off, and then
the Jaguars cash in, and then you don't score again
and then you go three and out. Like these are
like you're you're a hundred percent right about Trevor Lawrence.
And the point I made earlier was we talked about

(47:57):
all these quarterbacks and the young quarterbacks, you know, who's
doing what and who's gonna do this, and who's gonna
be there, But we never ever talked about Trevor Lawrence.
And he was the first overall pick. And it wasn't
like it was a debate like like he was he was,
he was can't And I still said it last year
when when people are like, I don't know, I was like, no,

(48:18):
this dude is can't miss like he is he was.
He was like almost as can't miss to me, as
as Andrew Luck, Like they both were so like that.
The only and I remember saying that the only thing
that can derail uh Luck that his floor. I said,

(48:42):
his floor is a ten year starter that is going
to give you, that is gonna regularly, regularly get you
to the playoffs and give you a couple of chances
to to to win a Super Bowl. But the only
thing that can stop that that you can't account for
is is injury. And that the thing that got him,
and the same thing is true with with Trevor Lawrence.

(49:06):
The move that he made today, And I know he fumbled,
you know, like that that's that's the added dimension that
that the ability. He's not gonna run it like Justin
Fields does. He's not gonna run it like Janalen Hurts does.
But when you need a third down and thirteen and
I know he fumbled. Um, there was just something about

(49:26):
that game today that was you just you knew what
wasn't gonna just just end like there was going to
be something, and I thought it was actually going to
be then on that Trevor Lawrence fumble, I thought, Wow,
that's that's our wacky takeaway that we get from this.
And the defense picked him up, got the stop. He
was able to then drive his team down for the

(49:46):
game tying field goal. They didn't score that, they won
the toss, got the possession, and overtime didn't score. Dallas
had the football just needing three and then ended up
turning it over. So the defense picked him up. But yeah,
you talk about coaching, you know, like in guys being coaching,
you're right to see what to see what like Doug
Peterson is is done for him. And I remember, heck,

(50:08):
we were sitting here at this time last year, George
and I think both you and I were like man
Byron left, which sure seems made for that job, right,
Like he's you know, like he would he would be
the guy. And they had conversations and and sometimes this
is a perfect example of you know, like the the
obvious answer isn't always the right answer, like that we

(50:29):
just connected the dots. But that doesn't mean that that
wouldn't have or couldn't have been the right answer either.
It's just a matter of that that does. Like when
when they hired Doug Peterson, I didn't hate that, higher
like it, like it wasn't like they had and they
like they hired Hackett. I looked at it. You hired

(50:51):
a super Bowl a recent Super Bowl champion coach who
was a really good offensive threat his quarterback position, Fella
Ela Park. He ends up getting fired because he can't
get along with wins really And like so I I
didn't have a problem, because ordinarily I do have a
problem when they when they hire they when they do

(51:14):
the recycled coach thing or hire guys from the scratching
Dent band. But but in that case, you know, it
didn't feel like that that it was all his fault.
Same kind of thing with to a lesser extent, Frank
Wright in with the occults, I still think he's a

(51:35):
good coach. Like I wouldn't mind him getting another head
coaching job because he's because he's had some success and
there's some situational stuff that that impacted his ability to win.
But you but with the Byron Left wish thing, he
could have had great success as well. But Doug, Doug
Peterson kind of felt like a safer choice, and and

(51:59):
and and in the room when like a for sure
adalt in the room after after urban Meyer was a
was a was a uh a man acting like a
thirteen year old at head coach. But there there's there's
something that Doug Peterson did and just uh to let

(52:19):
you know what's going on. Tom Brady was just picked
off Bengals, turning him over in Tampa territory. So Cincinnati
takes over at the Tampa Bay thirty one yard line
in a seventeen to six game, Marlon Mack into the
end zone for Denver. They're up ten nine and they
just forced the Cardinals punt, So Denver gets the football
back with four four left and the third This is

(52:41):
the thing that I think Doug Peterson changed with the Jaguars,
and you listed his resume, which is you know, includes
a super Bowl winning coach, and it's it's why the
Byron Leftwich things seems so obvious. But and you're right,
it could have worked out for Byron Leftwich. But what
the jag Wars needed in the Houston Texans need this

(53:02):
so desperately, they need this so desperately, is they need
a guy who says I want to be there. And
Byron left which would have been there, we have been like,
of course, we have to bring in a guy who
was a Jaguar because nobody else wants to be here,
Like so we have to go to our past and
we're like, you know, we're connecting the dots. But that's

(53:25):
kind of what it would have felt like. Here was
Doug Peterson, who is less than five years removed from
winning a Super Bowl in in a city that had
been craving for a Super Bowl title forever, and he
delivers one. And for him to go there and be
like I want to be here, I think that says
a lot. Well, I actually think that there was an

(53:46):
attractive job because of the ownership, Like that shot Shan
Khan is going to let you do your job and
leave you alone. And in the Houston, texanstion situation, nothing
about that is ideal at all. They are I mean,
they are a poorly run franchise right now, or I

(54:08):
would agree point taken. So so you're not gonna have
guys who are high end demand taking that job even
if they don't get another job there, especially a black
head coach like, uh yeah, I'm gonna pass until because

(54:28):
because you're likely only gonna get one one shot unless
you are Todd Todd Bowls and end up in a
situation like you ended up in. I mean like so
it's it's not like that that that that sort of
thing happens. So you have to be very careful and
judicious about the jobs that you do take. But when

(54:50):
you looked at the Jaguars and I know you have
Trevor Lawrence um and I know that you you know,
you had some pieces, and they spent the free agency
and they had the number one, we're all pick again.
Those are all things that we were appealing to taking
that job. But still it's not like, you know, it's
not like Sean Payton's like, you know what, when I

(55:11):
get back into coaching. I want to go to Jacksonville. No, no,
I don't mean this, but see, see the thing is
you can win in the NFL if you have a quarterback.
So so like that. That's the reason why that that
was attractive is because they have a quarterback. If you
do not have a quarterback, jobs are not attractive at all,

(55:32):
because you are because you win and lose based upon
whether you uh yeah, you win or lose based upon
whether you have a quarterback or not. And you probably
have some something to tell us about the Cincinnati Yeah, yeah,
Joe Burrow. Just how many yards was that he was?

(55:52):
It was? It was about a thirty It was about
a thirty yards sack. The problem was that Joe Borrow
was bailed out because there was a defensive holding call
on Lavante David so on the fourth and three Bengals
went for it and and Joe Burrow traveled. Yeah, it
was it was definitely holding. But but that was also

(56:16):
a makeup call to for the non pass interference when
Jamaar Chase got his jersey pulled right before he was
getting on the on the play before, So it did
feel kind of makeup callerge But I mean it was
a legitimate call, but it did feel makeup callerge after

(56:37):
they missed the last one, and just just to put
a bow on our conversation and we'll take a time out.
By no means a like comparing how the organizations are
run with the Jaguars and Texans, and your points were
well put, George. It's just the fact that you don't
see guys being like I want to be there, Like

(56:59):
there are spots like Shaw, You're like I was the
rumors Champagne wants to coach the Chargers. You know, Chargers
have a coach right now that you know? Is that
they well you may not think so, but they've they've
they've had a lot of injuries, and I think it's
one of the reasons why you're sitting there trying to
figure out, Okay, what do we do. But the point
is is it's a destination that very few times is

(57:21):
Jacksonville the place to be? And now I think that changes,
San Diego. About the about the l A Chargers too,
is that, I mean, that's not exactly the franchise that
everybody wants to sign up for. Hence why Eli Manning
didn't didn't want to be there so so it's it's

(57:44):
not either because there's some instability with the Spanos family.
But you know why it's ideal, justin Herbert, you have
a quarterback. Every every coach wants to be where they
where they have a especially a young quarterback. Dude, nobody
would have wanted to take the Cincinnati job. But if
if Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase are on the roster, Oh, now,

(58:06):
all of a sudden, then looks that looks a lot better.
Oh the Detroit job, that that looks like it's stunk.
Oh my gosh. They have an entire off they have
a really good offensive line, and proposed for this conversation,
Dan Campbell wants to be in Detroit. Dan Campbell is
reflective of what Detroit is. You know, I think that

(58:28):
that is, you know, that is something that that you'll
see the Bengals on a third down completed a passage
Jamar Chase. But what was most important is the Buccaneers
or gonna be called for a face masks. So now
the Bengals are gonna be knocking on the door first
and go at the five yard line. Denver was driving,
but the Cardinals just picked off ripping at the goal line.

(58:49):
So at the end of three, it's ten nine Denver
on top of Arizona. That Buccaneers score still seventeen to
six in favor of Tampa Bay Chargers and Titans still
tied at seven. Patriots kicked a field goal four on
the Raiders seventeen to thirteen. Football fans be sure to
tune in for Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff, presented
by bet MGM on Sunday morning, three hours before kickoff.

(59:09):
That's right, Tune in on Sunday morning, ten o'clock Eastern Thomas.
We take you live all the way to kickoff on
Fox Sports Radio on the I Heart Radio app presented
by bet MGM. Bengels do get into the end zone.
Te Higgins a five yard touchdown reception from Joe Burrow.
Bengals are gonna go for two. We'll tell you if
they get it next. He's George Rice to I'm Dan Buyer.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This is Fox

(59:35):
Red Zone Radio, and we've got the place that you
may have missed. Joe has the ball, fakes to mix
and thumb. The pocket turns anything against. Higgins running along
the back line, makes the catch for the Bengals touchdown.
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
This is Fox Red Zone Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

(01:00:08):
He's George Rice or the NFL That time, Dan Buyer.
That highlight courtesy of the Bengals Radio network, and there
may be another one soon because Tom Brady just fumbled
the football on a sack. Bengals take over in their
own red zone. Now, I mean, this is this is
all on Brady. You through the interception. He's like the
playoff game against the against Green Bay is this is?

(01:00:33):
This is something else because the Bengals were putting pressure
on a third down play. Brady usually turtles, you know,
in that situation and just takes the sack and move on.
But this in this instance, he ended up like diving
forward and as in his process of diving, George, the
ball comes loose and the Bengals end up recovering it.

(01:00:54):
So now second down into in a seventeen to twelve
ball game, as Cincinnati has the ball at about the
five and a half five and a half yard line,
I need this. I need this because we we we
are playing a pool, and I have the Bengals plus
well minus three and a half and it wasn't wasn't

(01:01:16):
looking very very good, but he keeps getting better every time. Uh,
tom Brady touches the ball. Well, they if they score,
they'll likely go for two to make it a three
point games. He still need that half point, George if
the but at least I got a shot, at least
I can sweat it at that point, like there was
like there, I couldn't even sweat it at first. And

(01:01:39):
that's that's the part of this where like if you're
if you're a Buccaneers fan again, I thought their defense
got embarrassed, even though, like the conversation last week was
all about Tom Brady and what the Niners were able
to do, and tom Brady coming home that defense to
be able to be domin they like they were by

(01:02:01):
the forty Niners offense in a rookie quarterback making his
first ever start. I mean, that's you know, there's a
lot of pride in that Buccaneers defense, and I felt
that they were going to be able to bounce back
this week, and really they have been able to, but
it's difficult when you're turning the football over it in
your own territory, and they forced field goals, so it's

(01:02:22):
not like So it's not like they they've just been
just been giving it up. No, they have forced field
goals and and now they have another opportunity to force
the field goal and if they if they can, that
would be a like that would be the ultimate win,
to to force them to get three. Yes, that would

(01:02:45):
be that would be huge. Denver has just gotten six
LaTavia s Murray into the end zone. Extra point coming up.
But that's a sixty nine game with eleven minutes to go,
So their offense is so much better with Brett Rippon.
I'm telling you, I'm telling you, this is the worst
thing to happen to Russell. What do you mean? They're

(01:03:05):
not even dude, they they're running the football. It's not
like I know, I know, but you don't think that
there's not going to be a graphic on a talk
show tomorrow that says, you know, is Russell Wilson the
problem in Denver? It'll be not it will be nonsense.

(01:03:25):
Brett Brett ripping his nineteen for twenty four for five
yards and an interception, and the Cardinals are down to
Trace McSorley as their quarterback. Yeah, yeah, this is there's
nothing about that oh, but you know what I do
want to talk about, Dad, Oh my gosh, the the

(01:03:48):
man by the way, Tyler Boyd touched on reception. So
there's your your clothes from two yards out. So now
the Bengals are gonna go for two but eighteen to seventeen.
But what do you want to talk about, George? The
hate and the vitriol that my man Marcus Mariotta has
been taking. Oh and oh, and how it was such

(01:04:10):
a right time and everything to go to Desmond Ritter,
and and and the slander, unnecessary slander that he took
this week. That's what I want to talk about. Saints
got a eighteen, went over the Falcons, and the Bengals
were able to convert their two point conversion Joe Burrow
to t Higgins. So it's a twenty to seventeen game.

(01:04:31):
Patriots have kicked the field goal there within one of
the Raiders seventeen and sixteen early in the fourth quarter,
and again Titans and Chargers just still sitting there at
seven seven. But Desmond Ritter does get the start today
and the season is gonna be over for Marcus Mariota. Um.
But but this was the vitriol towards Mariota. Um, well,

(01:04:54):
while not warrant, maybe not ultimately warranted, George, like, there
is a there is a reality too, you know what
what is transpiring. And I know this wasn't a year
for Atlanta to take great strides, but the question is,

(01:05:15):
like how much how much were they elevated by Marcus Mariota. No, no, no, no,
no no no no no no no, I don't I
don't have a problem necessarily with him being benched in
the situation only because he missed he missed something like
he missed some throws that he needed to make that

(01:05:37):
could have and and it's tough when you have a
rookie on the bench too, and like that, he he
did miss some throws that there could have been some
big situations and you didn't. And it's not his job
to feed them feed the ball to Kyle Pitts. But
you know, Kyle Pitts is a guy that they think

(01:05:59):
very highly of who had a thousand yards season as
a rookie and he didn't get the ball a lot.
So so that's another bad look on on markets, even
though it's not necessarily his fault in the situation. But
now you're sitting, I mean. But but also Matt Ryan
looked awful last year too, and he's been a veteran quarterback.

(01:06:22):
And you have Desmond Ritter came in today thirteen for
twenty six. He didn't look good at all. Really, thirteen
for twenty six for nineties seven yards. And when you
look at this offense that Arthur Smith is running like,
it's not built. It's not quarterback friendly. I mean, it's
it is built to do what they did in Tennessee, right,

(01:06:45):
which is run the ball with Derrick Henry and run
the ball and run the ball and then let your
quarterback be a game. Matt Manager, that's why you're not
seeing That's why you're not gonna see explosive stuff out
of out of this offense because he ran the offense
in Tennessee. It wasn't explosive in Tennessee. So what do
you expect is going to happen now? It's nothing explosive

(01:07:09):
is going to happen, and Desmond, Desmond Ritter is gonna
be a casualty of it. But but to me, Dan,
it was more Arthur Smith acting like Marcus quit on
the team. That was the part that because there's nothing
about Marcus Mariotta's entire history that says that he's a
guy who quits on a team. And then he was like,

(01:07:31):
I don't know where where he's at. You know what's
going on with him. He just had a baby and
he's having season ending knee surgery. Like come on, come
come on, bro, Like like that part rubbed rubbed me
the wrong way because because coaches should not be doing
that to their players. Well, in the end, um, you know,

(01:07:52):
if you're Arthur Blank, I think that's the question you
have to make, you know, with with that decision, then
on what you do with Arthur Smith. Unfortunately, because the
Falcons in the NFC South where everybody's in the division hunt, Um,
there still is something to play for. But now you've
got your third string quarter or your third round pick. Um,
who I I know, Russell Wilson was a great story

(01:08:15):
as a third round pick. It's just you're you're not
getting You're not getting what you would normally get from
a higher drafted quarterback. I'm sorry. Same thing, same thing
with Mollie Wills. Like there's a reason that these guys
are taken in the third round, and so your investment
in them is very you know, minimal. Sometimes it does happen.
But but the thing about it, though, is is that

(01:08:37):
those guys typically even though some of them, like we
we have seen some guys turned into good starters like
or long term players Ryan Ryan Fitzpatrick who's drafted later,
and and other guys, it's not that they are bad.
It's just that some of them just take a little
bit longer to develop, like that they need some time

(01:09:02):
and that. And now Desmond Ritter is elevated and now
he's being put on a timeline like he was a
first round pick. And sometimes guys they need to sit
on the bench year, two years, three years, and then
they can go out and be fantastic. But this expectation
that they're gonna come out the gate and be you know,

(01:09:25):
and and all pro is or be you know what
what what Herbert or Borrow was as rookies even out
of the first rounder. It's not like those are not
typical results. Denver has just picked off Trace McSorley, the
Bucketeers who have given the football back to the Bengals.
Leonard Fournette a fumble on a handoff exchange from Tom Brady.

(01:09:47):
So the third the third straight possession. The Buccaneers have
turned it over. Walking to the Fox Sports Radio tail

Rice to rom Dan Bire. Let's jump to the news desk,
Mancy blogos giving us the latest. I could have another
score in Denver Bengals in Tampa Territory again, what's going on? Mons? Yes,
Joe Burrow has come to life, giving my fantasy team
some hope. Maybe we'll see the Bengals got the ball
back like you just said, and they actually have a

(01:10:30):
lead on the Buccaneers. Seventeen is the score. They have
more than a minute plenty of time to score again.
Come on, Joe Burrow, I need the points. The Titans
and the Chargers just ended the third quarter and they
are still tied at seven. Justin Herbert has s own
two interceptions. He actually has not done that since Week
sixteen of last year. And then the Raiders and the Patriots.

(01:10:51):
This is a is a close one. The Raiders are
only up by one point. Seventeen sixteen is the score
with ten minutes to go in the game. And you
just mentioned the Bronco have the ball. They're beating the
Cardinals seventeen to nine. But I'm gonna mention J. J.
Watt the defensive end for the Cardinals because he's made
a lot of money today, guys. So he came into
this game with six and a half sacks on the season,

(01:11:12):
he already has three more sacks. By surpassing seven sacks,
he earned half a million in incentive. Then by surpassing
eight sacks he earned another two hundred thousand. In the
ninth sack, he got another two hundred thousand in this game.
He's gotten almost a million dollars and incentives. So he's like,

(01:11:36):
I don't care if we lose. Yes, ain't that nuts?
J J J J. Watt? Ain't that what a what
a nice day? But a nice day? That is what
I'm saying. I'm so jealous, Dan, can I get incentives

(01:11:56):
here like that? Like half a million and two hundred k?
I mean that, I'm just saying that that is nuts.
Earlier today, speaking about nuts, I'm sure that's what at
Hindy Now was like, because at Hintina pulled it off.
They beat France four two on penalties. Leon Messi can

(01:12:17):
check off that last thing on his list for his career,
but really, Killian and we should call him killer because
he was put in the net four times in game
one game he had a hand trick, the only only
the second player in World Cup history to do that
in a final. He's the Golden boot winner and he's
only twenty three years old, and he's got a World

(01:12:41):
Cup already France. France is in good hands. But here's
what's even crazier. I found a tweet. This was a
story I saw earlier today. This guy named Jose Miguel Polanco,
a normal dude, tweeted this on March. This is what
he tweeted December, thirty four year old Leo Messi will
win the World Cup and become the greatest player of

(01:13:02):
all time. Check back with me in seven years. Wow.
So he called it. He called it, and people are
all over it saying that there's no way this is true.
It has two thousand likes. Thousand retweets. Hold up, is
it is it a real picture or is it a screenshot? No,
it's a real It's I went to this guy's page

(01:13:24):
because because because last week somebody tried to take credit
for somebody else's tweet and it was just a screen shot. Yeah,
and I was like, you scum bad. And then I
found the actual tweet and then I retweeted it. I
was like, you are a sum bad trying to trying

(01:13:45):
to hijack somebody's great tweets. No, this person pinned it,
so it's you could see it. I don't think this
is as good as the Sports Illustrated cover when they
predicted me with the Yes with the Astros got seven
year But Mazzi, there's only like, there's a World Cup
once every four years, so he couldn't say like because

(01:14:07):
there isn't a World Cup. Plus he took one. Plus
he took one of the best players in the world,
who was one of the best players in the world
at that time. So I I think it's I think
it's cool, but I don't think that it tops when
Sports Illustrated put the Astros on the cover. Did you
hear about the better you know the seven the guy

(01:14:29):
who bet on the seven champions this one past one. Uh.
He you know he had well, he had the guy
who had a seven team parlay of winning titles. So
it was, you know, the Rams to win the Super Bowl,
it was the Astros to win the World Series. And
the only thing that he needed from his twenty six
dollar bet was France to win the World Cup and

(01:14:51):
he would win half a million dollars. Oh, and he ended,
he took, he took the he took the payout. They
bought him out. He made about two d and good man,
hey because he probably heard what what happened to the
last guy when um it was on one oh that

(01:15:14):
he needed Joe Mixing to go over like sixty eight
yards and he was gonna it was some huge number.
It was like on like a seven dollar bet. It
was like six hundred thousand or something. And they and
they offered him like three three something to uh to
uh to just give up the bet, and he was like, no,

(01:15:35):
I'm letting it ride. Man. Joe Mixing had like thirty
two yards in the game. The Bengals are gonna need
Joe Mixon, thinks Moncy and just a little bit. He's
George rice Stir, I'm dan Buyer Live from the Tireraq
dot Com Studios, Bengales again in Tampa Territory. But they're
now in the fourth quarter. It is a three point game.
Cincinnati's up on the Buccaneers twenty seventeen Raiders with that

(01:15:58):
one point lead on the Patriots. Midway through the fourth quarter,
New England as the football. The Broncos have added another
score against the Cardinals. He has to nine Eric Tomlinson
the touchdown pass from a reception on the past from
Brett Rippon. While the Titans and Chargers he has still
seven seven in l A early in the fourth quarter.
He is George rice Stir, I'm dan buyer. Coming up next.

It's the division that no one wants to win. Talk

In the late windows. Cardinals get a touchdown, James Conner
punches it in from one yard out, but the Cardinals
unable to convert the two point conversion, so it remains
actually a two score game, down nine to the Broncos.

(01:17:03):
Fifteen Austin Ekeler into the end zone for the Chargers,
a three yard touchdown run. So that's a fourteen seven
Bolts lead right now, under ten minutes to go in
that contest. The Raiders holding onto a slight lead against
the Patriots. It's seventeen to sixteen, six minutes to go,
Raiders facing a third down and nine. While in Tampa,

(01:17:25):
the Bengals uh with with the aid of buccaneer turnovers, left, right,
and everywhere else, the Bengals have taken a twenty seven
to seventeen lead on Tampa Bay. Tom Brady is gonna
have to rally the troops. As Jamaar Chase got into
the end zone four Cincinnati and a touchdown pass from
Joe Burrow. Burrows thirties at Boyd Higgins and now Chase

(01:17:48):
in this contest of Cincinnati up ten earlyer the fourth quarter, man,
I told you I thought it was there for the Buccaneers.
Self inflicted wounds have have have cost the the self
afflicted errors have cost the Buccaneers today with those turnovers,
the buck, the Brady interception, the Brady fumble. Um. Yeah,

(01:18:11):
not good, not good at all for for Tampa today
in their matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. I do want
to get your thoughts on quickly what happened yesterday? George?
How do you explain blowing a thirty three to nothing
lead at halftime? Like how you're okay, okay, go ahead.

(01:18:32):
There's there there there's two parts it is. There's part
of a cynical part and there's a part a a
real football part. So which one do you want first?
I want the cynical part because I do actually want
to talk real football. But the cynical part, go ahead. Oh,
that's because an analyst is your quarterback, like a guy,
a guy guy that you pulled off a t t

(01:18:52):
V is your quarterback. So I'm sorry, your head coach, coach.
So yeah, so so weird stuff is gonna happen to you.
So that's the cynical part of it, but the actual
football part of it is that when you get big leads,
it is difficult for some coaches to coach, and it's
difficult to keep the players engaged because you do kind

(01:19:15):
of risky things in in games like like like not
like super risky, but you do things. And when you
get a big lead, the coaches say, don't turn the
fall the football over, that's the all and don't give
up big plays. That's the only way that that they
can come back, when in reality, if you just keep
playing the same way that you're playing, you'll be fine.

(01:19:38):
It's it's it's that tightening up and it's a natural thing.
It's an automatic thing, and you actually have to retrain
your body and your mind and your team to not
do that. Like you have to not let up and
be willing to put up fifty eight thousand points on
a team and be willing to deal with if there

(01:20:00):
is the turnover, so well, go back to playing football
the way you're supposed to play football. I know people
think it's a coincidence, but I don't think it's necessarily
a coincidence that Matt Ryan is the quarterback you know
of these offenses in these comebacks. Whether I mean there
there were three and outs, you know that that the
Colts had that should have been three and outs. But

(01:20:22):
that's what I'm saying is that that is a reflection
on him and his personality as well, that that that
they go to is, oh, we're not gonna lose instead
of we're going to beat you up. He's George Rice Stir,
I'm Dan Buyer. All four games coming down to the wire.
We'll have the conclusions next on Fox Sports Radio. Oh
my goodness, the most Raider of Raider things just happened.

(01:20:47):
Davante Adams was about to catch a pass him Derek Carr,
but it was broken up by Darren Waller. I know
it sounds crazy, but it's what just happened to the
Raiders down seven and against New England. We are broadcasting
live from the ti irac dot com studios. Ti irac
dot com will help you get there at unmatched selection, fast,

(01:21:08):
free shipping, free road hazard protection. In over ten thousand
recommended ti irac dot com the way tire buying should be.
If that's not a radar thing, um, I don't know
what is. But on a third down in ten Derek
Carr had his sight set on Davante Adams, who had
gotten past the Patriots defender at midfield and car Let

(01:21:33):
Looser rope right, Georgia, this is oh yeah, this is
a that was gonna be a good throw. Yes, yes,
and Avier and Darren Waller was like sitting down on
a on a route and then he saw the ball
thrown and then he I guess he thought it was
going for him, so he went backwards to go get

(01:21:54):
it like like change change directions and boy, oh boy,
that was a nightmare and Waller got a piece of it. Adams, Yeah,
Adams could have maybe scored, like if not, at least
they're at midfield to get the first down. The defender
was nowhere close. He was probably going to score if

(01:22:14):
I mean, the ball may have slowed him down a
little bit, but that that for sure was a catchable
ball like pass breakup for Darren Waller. B BU, welcome
back Darren Waller. That that who knows, maybe that's game
and that that's game rust you know, the realization, Hey,
I've got Davontae Adams and that's usually who Derek Carr

(01:22:36):
is throwing to. Um, So maybe Darren Waller had a
flashback to a couple of years ago when he was
setting the world on fire. But in the end, the
Raiders have to punt, and so New England now has
it second down in seven, Raiders have one time out.
There's a flag on the play false start for New England. Seventeen.

(01:22:57):
Brocos just beat the Cardinals fifteen. So you can start
your conversations now on trace. McSorley literally just just gifted.
He gifted Patrick's certain the second a pick to that
that sealed the game. But Dan, please please don't do it.

(01:23:18):
Please don't do it. Please, though, please, I beg of you.
I am, I am begging you, as a man who
has worked with you for multiple years, please do please
don't do what you're about to do. I'm not I'm
not going to because I think that Russell Wilson has
gotten so much flak this season, and I am not

(01:23:40):
going to say that the Broncos are better with Brett Rippon,
that is, trust me. I am not going to say that.
Like you know, the Cardinals, we're missing a bunch of
players as well, obviously Kyler Murray being the biggest, and
then Colt McCoy ends up getting uh, knocked out of
the game. But oh yeah, so there's there's don't worry, George.

(01:24:02):
I am not going to say, uh, not going to
say that, but it is just funny and I guarantee
that you will see it this week that that that
there will be some sort of conversation not that Brett
Rippon is better George, but that you know, does Russell
Wilson bring down this team or is this team play heavier?

(01:24:28):
Like you can you can see that popping up on
a on a morning debate show, right, like that conversation
that that that is well as long as nothing crazy happens,
because that will be like a c story, right, and
that can get bumped depending on what happens throughout the
rest of the day or something wild happens, right that

(01:24:51):
that that can get bumped from the entire show. But
somebody somewhere is going to I mean in Broncos Country
there for sure going to talk about this. But the
reality is is that they rushed the ball for a
hundred and sixty eight yards and two touchdowns and I
mean his stats literally looked like Russell Wilson's do at

(01:25:11):
the end of the day, which is uh, you know,
twenty one for twenty six for a hundred and ninety
seven yards. But the but the difference is is that
the Arizona car like had the Arizona Cardinals, had competent offense.
The Broncos don't score twenty four points. They gave him
three interceptions and and through no touchdowns. So so like, yes, yes,

(01:25:35):
they won a game and scored twenty four points, but
this was more about how bad the Cardinals were than
anything else. Yeah, they are, they are a message well
and I mean, you know not still God's name that
Matt was Mac Jones, just just doing Oh my god,

(01:25:57):
we can we can transition to the Patriots Raiders game. Um,
the Cardinals with Steve com ending up taking uh a
leave of absence and not being able to handle his
GM duties. UM for uh, you know, for health reasons.
But the or undisclosite health or undisclosed. No, no, no, no, no,

(01:26:19):
it's it's it's undisclosed. And you know what happened, right, Well,
I know that there's an issue with the assistant coach
that UM was in Mexico City and was Yes, he
filed suit against the team for wrongful termination. But the
crazy part is is that when you see Steve Kim

(01:26:40):
and his picture next to each other, they kind of
look like each other. That there's mistaken identity in terms
of yes, who may have committed the violations. Yeah, that's crazy,
crazy situation in Arizona. But just again, for for a week,
you had the short week because you played uh, the
Patriot on Monday night, and now you had that going.

(01:27:03):
And now you go to Denver, you lose your backup quarterbacks,
so Trace McSorley has to come in. So that that's
that's what you had in in Cardinal Land today, in
addition to those awful uniforms that they wore against the Broncos.
Now back to the Raiders and Patriots, by the way,
just to let you know what's going on, Chargers and Titans.
It's still a seven point lead Chargers up on Tennessee.

(01:27:24):
The Chargers are punting it back to the Titans, who
have one time out left at first intent from about
their twenty seven yard line, third and tent for the
Raiders because earlier Mac Jones was on a third down
and eleven. They ran a naked boot and he had
forever to run, but he had Max Crosby on his
tail and it ended up being Crosby, I guess, forcing

(01:27:47):
mac Jones to just wave the white flag George, because
he just hurled up. Dude. It was a a naked bootleg,
like they they got the Raiders to bite one hundred percent,
I mean, and mac Jones is out there running, dude,
and it was like he was running in in in

(01:28:08):
sand and the Raiders are running in you know, on
on a on a moving treadmill, and and it looked
like I mean any I mean, if it were and
I'm not even gonna go with like Lamar Jackson, if
you put justin Herbert Joe Burrow, I'm just gonna just

(01:28:29):
any of the white guys in the league not named
Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers. And when when he was young,
in that situation, they're getting at least ten yards, and
that's not what happened. He ended up with a one
yard game, and you're like and and then he could
have had like five, six, six yards. He was like, nope,

(01:28:50):
don't touch me. He actually lost more yards to make
sure that they didn't touch him. I think I think
what went into mac Jones's head was that I do
not want to us being pushed out of bounds and
stopping the clock like I need to keep this clock running.
In George like don't no, no, because because the right
thing to do would have would have been to cut back.

(01:29:13):
But he was like, don't touch my body. I am terrified. Right,
it was. It was like necessary roughness and the and
the quarterback he was like, blow the whistle. Blow the whistle.
That's what he did. The The Patriots were then forced
to punt. Raiders got the football back. Now they're facing
a fourth and ten from their own nineteen yard line

(01:29:33):
as they're at the two minute warning. Also the two
minute warning. N l A. Chargers still up on the
Titans fourteen to seven. The Titans have the football second
down and six at their own forty yard line. Bengals
just converted the third and five near midfield at their
own forty eight yard line, but now up on Tampa
Bay uh in that game twenty seven to seventeen. Trying

(01:29:55):
to work some clock. The Bengals have used all three
of their time outs in this game. It's a good
thing they're up ten because they don't have any more remaining.
Buccaneers have all three of their time outs, but they're
gonna need to get a stop and then get some
points turnovers absolutely killing Tampa Bay uh today in this uh,
this Bengals team, George, I would I would not have

(01:30:18):
if they lost this game, which I thought that they were.
I thought Tampa was actually gonna win this contest, and
right now it does not look like that's going to happen.
But I would have given the Bengals a pass, even
though the Ravens lost yesterday, and there's a division to
get to. They've got this stretch coming up of New England,
Buffalo and then Baltimore at the end of the year,
which could end up designing the division. But to go

(01:30:40):
and like play this game and and uh, I have
this game on your schedule. It's a cross conference, Like
I actually would have given them a pass, Like, all right,
it's a hiccup, you know. And I thought that the
Buccaneers defense was gonna gonna respond and respond in with
a great defensive effort, and I think they've done actually
pretty well. It's just that the offense has not left

(01:31:01):
them with any good field position because of of what
has happened with the turnovers. Raiders, by the way, converted
that fourth and ten, So now they've got a fresh
set of downs and Derek Carr has got them out
to the forty five yard line, minute five to go
and no time outs. But this Bengals win, Like this
is we don't talk a lot about the Bengals because
they just kind of end up winning. And I I

(01:31:21):
don't know if we if if we are still believing
in you know, last year, but you know, there was
every reason for them to have a Super Bowl hangover,
George and to go and win this game with what
they've got to had on their schedule, like the tip
of the Captain Cincinnati. Oh yeah, yes, because this because
this game looked like it was lost, like if I mean,
they were looking putrid, and in Cincinnati Bengals fashion, they

(01:31:46):
had like this has been this team this year. They
started the season out slow and I was like, no
super Bowl hangover, man, No, no, this team is good.
This seems a good football team. They still need some
help protecting Joe Burrow better, but but they also have

(01:32:06):
done a good job of compensating for that by throwing
a lot of quicks and stuff like that too to
help it out. But the thing is, they got to
figure out how to run run the football because they
are not gonna be gifted. Uh, you know, four turnovers
like they got today. Raiders are in New England territory,
so it's down to forty seconds. But they got the

(01:32:26):
ball to the New England thirty yard line, so thirty
seven seconds left to go. It's a seven point game
Raiders and Patriots. And honestly, I'll say this, George, if
the Raiders score, they should kick the extra point. And
I know it's like great to be like, oh, go

(01:32:46):
for it, you know, get the two point conversion. But
Bill Belichick knows exactly what played Josh McDaniels would run.
He would know exactly what play. He would also know
what play that McDaniels thinks he's gonna run and is
actually going to run. So Belichick would know that as well. Oh,
you can't be scared. That's not being scared. It's st George,

(01:33:07):
it's being smart. Oh oh, he I come from his tree. Touchdown. Raiders,
Raiders have scored. We may have this decision Keling Cole.
With the reception from Derek Carr in the back of
the end zone, we've got a Raiders touchdown. George, here's

(01:33:27):
the decision. Decision time, I'm going for two you you
literally have nothing left to lose. Well, actually actually accept
your job, so this may be your best opportunity to win.
Though the Derek Carr throwing it up, the heiling Cole
and he now the question is did he get both

(01:33:48):
feet in? This is why Raider fans hate Derek Carr. Dude,
it is. It is like and it's feast. They're famine
with them. It is either Derek Carr is the is
the hero. Like I've never seen a player that has
been like this polarizing for a franchise. On replay, I

(01:34:12):
don't know if Keeling Cole got his second foot down.
This is his second foot may have been out of bounds.
And here's the tough thing, George, is you're looking at
if you're the official, I know it's a tough call,
but that's the one thing that you're looking at right feet.
You're looking at feet and well the ball too, like

(01:34:35):
you're like like you're trying to make sure that there's
no bubble and all of that, and the gosh, this
is this is gonna be closed. I don't think it's
gonna stand. I think it's going to be an incomplete pass.
The only thing we have this oh that left foot, yeah,
left foot is the only camera we have is on

(01:34:55):
a Mars rover. I think because it's so high up,
like we you cannot this is This camera is like
at the top of the Legiance Stadium that's looking down.
It's we have we have two camera views. How we
don't have pylon cam working on this, but I think
from the camera view, even though it's a bad camera,

(01:35:16):
these camera angles are like the difference in watching the
uh the Fox, you know, five o'clock game, uh Pacific
or you know, a big noon game and watching a
m and let's watching a game on Pack twelve networks

(01:35:37):
when you're like, why don't you have more camera views?
Like this is a this is this is by the way,
the Titans have now a first in goal in UH
at the Charger's four yard line. Titans have no time outs.

(01:35:57):
There's fifty seconds and counting on the second it's that's okay,
that's okay. The first play that Ryan Tannehill hit Derrick
Henry for a pass out of the backfield, Brandon Staley
has used a time out, knowing that if the Titans score,
he's gonna want to allow Justin Herbert some time. So

(01:36:19):
actually a smart play by Staley there but allows the Titans,
who really aren't short on time. It's fifty seconds there
in inside the five yard line UM. Titans have an
opportunity here. The Bengals are facing a fourth and inches
UM after getting about a half yard on third and one.
Cincinnati has taken off six minutes of this clock on

(01:36:41):
a drive and now it's forcing Tampa to use their
time outs. So a fourth down and inches, and if
you're Cincinnati, you do one of the things that I
am not a fan of in the NFL, and that
is you do the push you would do. Get the
quarterback under center, and you get everybody behind him and
you just push forward. And so now the Bengals have

(01:37:02):
a third and short. The Titans gave it to Derrick
Henry up the middle and he got down to about
the half yard line. So Brandon Stale will probably use
his final time out here and it will be third
downing goal. So a lot going on as we await
this review of what's going on in Las Vegas. Welcome

touchdowns stands, there are no there's not enough angles, like

(01:37:46):
how this is unacceptable? This is one unacceptable. Here's here's
the thing about it, George, As you say you want
conclusive evidence, not only is it you know you don't
have the other uh angles to actually show it. I
don't know like you can actually say because this one

(01:38:08):
camera was so far away that looked like he was
out of bounds, that you could actually say that that
was conclusive. The Titans have just gotten into the end zone.
Ryan Tannehill quarterback, sneak doing the full push. So the
Titans are in. They have a two point conversion decision.
The Bengals got the first down, getting the Buccaneers to
jump off sides, so now Cincinnati has the football and

(01:38:32):
with left to go, the Buccaneers are gonna be forced
to use their time outs. Cincinnati still would need another
first down to run out the clock, but to take
the amount that they took off on this drive is
pretty amazing. We aren't going anywhere. We will we will
in a second. The Titans have chosen to kick the
extra point. It is good. The Raiders also chose to

(01:38:54):
kick the extra point. It is good. And the Bengals
now with a ten point lead trying to run out
the clock against the Buccaneers. We're gonna take a breath.
Will come back with the conclusion of these two tie
games and what happens in Tampa. He's George Rice to
I'm Dan Buyer. That's next year on Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio. Are you ready for some football? Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio Live from the tire Act dot Com studios.

(01:39:17):
And I kid you not. We may have had the
same weekend where we have had the largest comeback in
NFL history and the craziest ending to a game that
I have ever seen that we have ever seen. My goodness,
George Rice, stir what just happened in Las Vegas between
the Raiders and Patriots. I have never seen before in

(01:39:43):
this sort of situation. And and if you're just tuning in,
the Chargers have beaten the Titans. They one on a
Cameron Dicker field goal. Seventeen to fourteen. The Buccaneers are
down seventeen trying to add some garbage points against the
Bengals that came is all but over. But in Las Vegas,

(01:40:03):
the Patriots and Raiders were tied up at never seen
this before in my life. They were tied at twenty
four apiece on a third down and the Raiders were
on defense. Patriots have the football, neither team has any
time outs. You're almost too far for a Hail Mary.
You're obviously not kicking a field goal if you are

(01:40:24):
the Patriots. And in this scenario, Bill Belichick said, from
third and ten from the forty five yard line, instead
of checking one up into the end zone, we're gonna
run it with Romandre Stevenson. Romandre Stevenson ran about twenty
yards and then lateraled it to Jacoby Myers. Jacobe Meyers

(01:40:45):
got one too about the thirty one yard line and
then threw it backwards about twenty yards. The only problem
with that lateral was he threw it to Chandler Jones
of the Raiders standing next Magon's and he was he
was He had literally given up on the play like
he had been playing. I kind of like the way
he had given up on this season, been playing. I

(01:41:09):
know Bill Belichick is gonna get roasted for this, but
if you're Jacobe Myers, you can't you can't throw that
football back and and then Chandler Jones gave ran over
Mac Jones and ran into the end zone and the
Raiders have one thirty to twenty four on the final
play of the game. We have seen games, George, where
teams try to do the lateral and the defense scores

(01:41:32):
and it maybe changes the line and it hits you know,
hits the over or the team covers because they added
the late touchdown. We've never seen it on a high
game with a guy that running fifty yards down field
to score for the other team like this is this
is pure bonkers. I I have never I have never
seen this scenario in the NFL game. Bro That was madness.

(01:41:57):
So that was one of the most bizarre in emy.
Like I've seen some a lot of games and some
crazy stuff happened. That is one of the craziest. It
is it is, it is nuts. It is I We
are going to bring you the call when we get

(01:42:18):
it into our system, because we will have it from
maybe we may have it from both sides, but we
are going to give you the final play right now.
What we're gonna do is we're live from the tire
act dot Com studios. We're gonna go over to Manti Milanio.
She's gonna get us caught up and everything that's going on,
and we we hope to bring you what this sounded
like as it happened in Las Vegas. I have never

(01:42:41):
seen anything like it, Manzy. Pure craziness, pure craziness. All
of us in the studio just standing up, couldn't believe
it what we're watching it. It was like in slow motion.
It was like, is this really happening. It's unbelievable how
the Raiders pulled it off. Because I was ready to
say another double did get collapsed by the Raiders. I

(01:43:01):
was ready to say that, and then all of a
sudden they pulled out a crazy win against the Patriots.
Derek Carr completed twenty up thirty eight passes for two
hundred and thirty one yards and three touchdowns. He had
one interception in the game. The Chargers are now eight
and six thanks to a game winning field goal by
Cameron Dicker against the Titans. Justin Herbert completed two passes
for three hundred thirteen yards. He did have two interceptions, though,

(01:43:23):
in the victory. The Broncos got past the Cardinals twenty
four to fifteen. Brent Rippin through for a hundred ninety
seven yards and a touchdown. He did have one interception. Earlier,
we were talking about running back, so there was no
big running back in today's games. Latavius Murray was like
hey hold on twenty four carries, a hundred and thirty
yards and a touchdown. Earlier today in the NFL, the
Saints took down the Falcons twenty to eighteen. The Lions

(01:43:46):
with another win against the Jets. The Steelers held on
and they beat the Panthers. The Cowboys lost in overtime
to the Jaguars. Ray Shawn Jenkins won the game with
a walk off pick six in o t Forty to
thirty four was the final score. The Eagles another win
to their column. They beat the Bears to twenty and
the Chiefs also won in overtime against the Texans the

(01:44:08):
fifteen to clinch a playoff spot this year. Not football news,
but check this out, guys, real quick. Aaron Judges home,
you know, sixty second record breaking home run ball sold
for one point five million dollars. Uh. Here's the thing.
The guy that caught the ball was originally offered three million,
and he turned it down and big So one point,

(01:44:32):
Why did I think that that ball would sell for
more than three million dollars? Well, I guess that makes
sense to me because because I collect things so like
I thought that three or three million was already outrageous.
If you offered me three million dollars for that ball
that day, I would have said, yep, where do I sign? Totally,

(01:44:53):
But but I would not have taken a million for it.
I would not have taken a million, but I would have.
But I've have absolutely taken three Did you have taken
Would you have taken one point five million at that moment? Yeah, nope. Million.
I would have taken anything two million or above, I

(01:45:17):
promise you no, because because I felt like I knew
what the value of it was, so like I knew
I would so so I would have felt like I
could have at least gotten one point five out of it,
but not for sure that I could have gotten over too.
So I would have taken anything over two millions immediately. Okay, thanks,

(01:45:40):
it is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio live from the
entire dot Com studios, and this is how it sounded
on Raider Nation Radio. Am Mac Jones hands it off
on a draw to Remandre Stevenson, breaks out of a
tackle at the fifty has the forty five, breaks away
from another tackle, catches it backwards and now Jacobe Myers
being around, he throws it to Tandler Johnson mid film,

(01:46:03):
Steph Tandler, Johnes Brasick towards the end Zone stores Oh
my goodness, Oh my goodness, I can't believe what I
just saw. I can't believe what I just saw. This
is unbelieve. I got me wow. On the first night

(01:46:27):
up on the car it's Americona, Las Vegas. Oh great
tie and Jason Horowitz Lincoln Kennedy on the call for
that great job, describing that's exactly how it played out. Yeah.
But the But like Dan so, I'm a person I
used to listen to things on the radio, like games

(01:46:49):
and stuff like that on the radio with my with
my granddad. And if you were listening to that call
on the radio, the code party is, you still would
not have under fully understood what what happened. Like they
did a great job of talking it through. But if
you're trying to, like I like, you're always watching it

(01:47:13):
in your in your mind and trying to build the picture.
But I just tried to do that and I and
I was like, hold up, okay, So I see Stevenson running,
I see the lateral and then he's like yes, And
then Jacobe Meyers throws the ball backwards to to to
Chandler Joe, and You're like, wait, what what It's one

(01:47:34):
of those It was perfectly described. But then your brain
breaks because you have so much knowledge and information about
how things happened, and this was something that was outside
of the realm of possibility. This is I said five
minutes ago that it's not on Bill Belichick, and I'm

(01:47:55):
gonna take that back, can I? Because I think there
are a lot of people at fault here. Just if
throw a throw a hill, Mary, you have to you
have to let your players know the situation. And also George,
like this, you brought this loss into the equation right,

(01:48:17):
like this was like the reason that you don't you
don't have to tell your guys. I mean, if if
it wasn't a lateral play, then you don't have to
tell your guys, not to laterally but but at but
at the same time, Okay, here's the other part of this,
damn is that Chandler Jones missed the tackle or remindre

(01:48:37):
Stevenson right missed the tackle on him and then didn't
chase down the play. That is the only reason why
he was still standing there is because he did a
poor job on the play and now he's the hero.
It's it's outstanding. Well, it's the point about like like
Jacoby Meyers needs to know like if the play dead

(01:49:00):
or when the play is dead, like this is like
you know, like like the kick six with Auburn in
Alabama that was completely designed by Auburn, Like you know,
it was set up. They they had the play and
I think New England had this play set up. Actually
ran the ball day blockers down field and then Stevenson
ends up pitching it to Jacoby Myers. Myers in that situation,

(01:49:24):
like they has to know that this this play is
going nowhere or in worst case scenario, don't throw twenty
yards backwards. But but but as a coach, like if
this was if this happened to the Colts yesterday, who
would we be on Jeff Saturday, like you would not believe,
like because it had need to know is if is

(01:49:47):
if the play was supposed to be lateral, then I
want all the blame falls on Bill Bill Belichick. But
if the play was not supposed to be, if it
wasn't designed to be adderals, well, actually, then I still
have a question. I'm like, why didn't you just throw
a hell Mary like it? There's so many questions that

(01:50:09):
I that I would have to to really form it
a and opinion about eviscerating Bill Belichick. But I like,
you you can't have to tell players don't lateral in
this situation situated like it was something that you could
not have planned unless that was part of the play,

(01:50:31):
which it could have been. So if you if as
we talked about this replay of like what happened with Stevenson,
like the the part is is when they handed it
off to Stevenson, you had guys down field, George that
we're blocking. It actually looked like it was a planned possession,

(01:50:53):
Like that's like that's what they wanted to do in
that you know, in that situation, um, and there were
only three seconds left on the clock when they took
this snap. It was again, third and ten from the
forty five yard line. I have actually rewounded to watch this, George,
because just to set it up so we get everything correct,

(01:51:17):
Josh McDaniels is telling everybody, Hey, back up, back up,
Hail Mary. They've got three guys at the radar thirty
yards at the at the radar thirty yard line. They
only rushed three and they had a blitzer come in.
To your point, Chandler Jones missed the tackle. Um, yeah,
Romandre Stevenson, there was there was There was the only

(01:51:40):
one chasing the play. Our our producer Bo Benson just
sent us the the dots from the play from a
from a seth from seth Wadler and and everybody else
is chasing the play down except for one guy. One

(01:52:00):
is not chasing the play down. It's Chandler Jones. Yep,
I I am looking on this. This is it's again.
If this was if this was Jeff Saturday, we would
be roasting. This is Jim Er say Jeff Saturday. Um,
I defend Belichick a lot, I think probably more than others. Um,

(01:52:23):
I can't let this one go. This is I know
it's a player thing, but you have to let them
know you have to let you, Kobe Meyers know, as
crazy as it is, don't throw itut twenty yards behind
you on a lateral. They weren't losing. That's the other thing, George,
is the game was tied like the like in situations
like that, you see guys make, you know, flipping throws

(01:52:45):
or flippant laterals because they were losing they need it.
The Patriots didn't need it. They could have played for overtime.
All right, there it is. Week fifteen has been one

second victory against the Titans, and Brandon Staley should actually
be applauded for the way that he handled the late
game situation, allowing Justin Herbert enough time on the clock
by calling time outs when they were on defense. Oh Man,

(01:58:44):
George that I think this play like what this is
a better question? What do you think we remember more
thirty three point comeback or this touchdown that happened in
Las Vegas? This play, bro, I agree, like the thirty
three point go come back, I mean honest, I mean
if it were against a team of note, then then

(01:59:07):
it would have or in a big spot like it,
like if that were a game to like send somebody
out of the playoffs or you know, something something like that.
But a regular season game against a team that's not
going to the playoffs, You're like snooze there. Okay, there
was supposed to those. Yeah, it's I mean, it is,

(01:59:27):
it's crazy. It is. I mean the fact that Myers
through the ball twenty yards backwards like that like that, That,
to me, is is the craziness of it. Of even
like if he gets tackled, like if a raider actually
makes the correct play and he's able to go up

(01:59:48):
and tackle him or push him out of bounds, none
of this happens. But I mean, to find a wide
open Chandler Jones. And yeah, to your point, Chandler Jones
was the one. It was probably least deserve, think of
getting all the glory. But the I mean for him
the bulldoze doing a damn thing. He was just he
missed the tackle and then was just chilling next to

(02:00:10):
