Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm excited to hang with you guys today. Let's do this.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
By the way, I want to warn everybody that Rich
is always in rare form, the most hyper guy you'll
ever meet. But he's in extra rare form today, extra
hyped up. You're like super choped up today. Must have
got extra rest this weekend or oh, I know it is.
It's a very special day for Rich. He's taking his
son to his first Mets game. But that's not even it.

(00:29):
It's National cheese Ball Day. And who's the biggest cheeseball?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
You know? I am Rich Davis. Everybody celebrate me. Cavino
and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. It's good to be back.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Last week we completed the Dan Dan Patrick Hatrick. Yeah
that was great, but it's good to be here. Hope
you had a nice weekend again CNR on FSR and
we be rocking out.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Let's go. Hopefully you're having a Jalen Hurts type of Monday.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
A Lakers Heat, Clippers Nuggets, Max Holloway sort of Monday.
But yeah, we'll be talking to Jalen Hurts and more,
some Aaron Boone, some Coachella, some love is Blind.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I thought you were just excited that Love Is Blind
is finally yeah coming out. I mean, I can't be
the only one that you gotta talk about it last night.
I mean it's not sports, but we could touch on
for ten seconds. Love Is Blind was supposed to have
the reunion yesterday and anyone that watches that dumb reality
show was actually waiting for it. Netflix decided to go
live with it. It didn't work out, and it was
trending number one all last night. Why why Love Is

(01:27):
blinds is not on? And you kept resetting your Netflix
and it wasn't working. Isn't that why Danny g and
Ramos were both off today? Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yes, they catch up on it again. We're Cadino and Rich.
We got Iowa Sam on the ones and two Samuel

to get to. Let's dive right in, like where Jacques Cousteau,

(02:17):
like we're Greg lugainis on the high dive. Let's dive
in and we're gonna talk about everything from how Oakland stinks.
We're gonna talk about Lebron is he selfish or just truthful.
We're gonna talk about lighting the beam. We're gonna talk
about money in the NFL A lot to get to.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Basically, what Rich is talking about is things that made
you go, things that make.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
You go, things that make you go.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
In the world of sports and entertainment, there's no wrong
answers eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox or spots
on standby Waving just to say hi on social media
at Covino in Rich if you want to chime in
there any of your observations. Maybe he was at a movie,
maybe he was in Super Mario Brothers. Maybe he was
watching NBA. Maybe he was watching UFC Fight Night, whatever

(03:10):
it was Coachella observations.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Oh, let me write that down.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Rich clearly upset about the Love Is Blind finale or reunion.
So things that made you go hmmm this weekend. I'll
start off with all the injuries, the key injuries in
the NBA playoffs, probably the most basketball I watched.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
In a long time. You were speaking, you were locked in?
I was.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
I mean, granted, I didn't have a whole lot to do,
so I lay there and watched basketball.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I mean, spot, I was Sam Bursch. Chime in when
you want. But do you feel as though the NBA
just proved that the regular season is so half asked
that the playoffs start and everyone's locked in? I mean,
I was Cavi. You know what, There is a sense
that maybe it's just us, But I don't think that's
the case. I really do think with the load management,

(03:56):
with you know, so many teams, twenty teams making the postseason,
and if you count the playing games with that said,
how could you really deem a random February Tuesday night
game or something.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Meant, every play counts, every game counts. They're playing harder,
playing tougher, more exciting, a lot of close games.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
You're watching the level play. You're watching the level of
play now that you're like, oh, if it was like
this all year round, maybe I'd be more locked in
on a weekday game. But it's also getting your attention more.
That's true.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
You you have very singular focuses throughout the years. You
have football season and then baseball's right around the corner.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, there's a slight in between where you can kind
of latch onto the NBA. Yeah, now's the time to
be tuning in.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Any sort of playoff playoffs right now, any playoff sport
is exciting.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Playoff pickleball is exciting. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
True, some some trick games this weekend. But the injury
Giannis John Moran hero out four to six weeks, that's
the update.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
There does honesty to back theotomy he might I don't
know his neck and his back? What just kidding? Hey, uh,
if you want to talk about things that make you
go hmm, how about when Kawhi Leonard is healthy and playing,
we remind ourselves what a game changer he is.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
The the old Kawhi sort of showed up this weekend
for sure.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
But is it the old Kawhi or is it just
Kawhi Leonard? When you know, lights are on, spotlight's on,
it's showtime, it's playoff time.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Paul George and no Paul Georget.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
And playing some really mean defense.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
So I mean to beat the Suns the way they did,
props to them again, like Sam just said, without Paul
George defense looking tight, Leonard's stepping up.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I mean that's what they needed. So that was good
to see. Made me say hmmm, maybe say hmmm.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
In the regards to Rich was alluding to before, like
how come it's not that exciting throughout the season. How
come they're not playing that hard all the time. Doesn't
make you say hmm.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
But again it matters more. Well, you talk about Kawhi
and you say, well, how good could this Clippers team
be if these guys are healthy and playing at full capacity?
Because we haven't really seen it the goal to the
NBA organizations now, doesn't it feel like it's like, yeah,
I make the postseason. No one cares about one seed,
two seed, eight seeds. It seems like more than any
other sport, it's like, yeah, I make the postseason, then

(06:21):
we'll figure it out, which means I think now you're
seeing guys step up and you're like, oh wait, maybe
this team has a better chance than I thought, because
all year long they've been giving me like a half
ass BS product. I want to go to your phone
calls and feedback too again.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine O Fox, Cavino and Rich
I want to rewind just a step. You're got forgive
them flam yeahah, I said all the injuries Jannis John
rant Hero. How about a d when he couldn't lift
his arm?

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Oh? Think, thank god it was a stinger, right right, No,
but you.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Were like, oh, come ah, well, you know for a
minute there, I'm like another major injury and like, are
you serious? Like, no, wait, because Anthony Davis really stepped
it up to the second half of the season, right,
He's been playing great the past few months, and you're like,
oh man, that's really gonna put a damper on this. No,
it just this sucks for a minute. Luckily, he came

(07:13):
back out. Any Davis is gonna play. He did some
Yagi stuff in the locker room, and that was a
big relief for the Lakers fans for sure, And that
made me say for a minute, so I was like, man,
this guy needs to stay healthy.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
So at kobein on Rich eight, seven, seven, nine nine
on Fox Your observations, NFL, NBA Playoffs, Baseball, Like you
said it could be movie. You saw hashtag hot Luigi.
Do you see women are getting all worked up about
Luigi from Super Mario.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
You're the only guy here talking about this. I think
you gotta think for Luigi.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
You think I got like skinny man with mustaches. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
You keep talking about the hot Luigi. I thought it
was one of his bedroom moves from the early two thousand.
I got one for you that was trending. But as
a music fan right every night, I'm on Turbo forty
one on SXM, I love rock music. There's a lot
of big shows coming up. Power Trip in October is
Sick New World in May. Of course, Metallica's got their

(08:10):
World Tour, lots of shows. These are for music lovers,
right the shows I'm describing, I feel like Coachella is
not for the music lover at all, but more than
ever before, it's like a social media sort of look
at me festival, Like you need to wear a funny
hat and have a crazy outfit.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Ben A Coachella.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
It's more about me than it is about the music.
But ladies, it makes my eyes roll, bro, big time
ladies are dressing sexy though, no, no, for sure, but
it's like more of like a fashion show and look
at me, my funny hat a place to be seen
so much sam as it is about the music, and
that sort of makes me annoyed or it makes me.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Say hmm, yeah, it does make it go. It was
all over. I mean, some of the efforts made me
say hmm. But I'll get Coachelle out of the way.
There's two big highlights Blink Qantity two. That was awesome
when you saw the highlights on Instagram and Twitter and
ty what's my age again? It's cool to see that.

(09:08):
I ma iss you no blink. Being back together for
the first time in like a decade was awesome. The
other thing I was gonna bring up about Coachella, people
have done this with sporting events, and I think it's
disgraceful and embarrassing. There's an article in the New York
Post today about how influencers get this. They're driving out
to the desert, dressing up and taking selfies and not

(09:32):
actually going to Coachella, but they're like going to Coachella
and they didn't want to pay the money. They don't
want to go. Just put on a you know, hot
little outfit, put a bandana on and be like Coachella
kissy fays and they don't even got it's you know,
there was a story I'm never gonna remember. Was it
bow Wow? Yes? I think there was a story years

(09:54):
ago about the plane, right, yeah, oh it was a plane.
But there was another one where someone's like, you know,
you know they rent out private jets for girls to
pose by. How embarrassing is that?

Speaker 1 (10:05):
And there's there's sets, there's sets of private jets that
influencers can use to make it look like they're on
a private jet, but it's actually a set.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Isn't that ridiculous?

Speaker 1 (10:12):
It doesn't fly.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
You see the toilet bowl photos? Do you know this?
You know this one? Someone could take a toilet bowl.
You've seen this toilet I'm sorry, toilet seat. I want
to make it look like a window, make it look
like a plane where someone's like they have a screensaver
on their computer like an island and.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Conditioned yourself in front of the toilet seat, and you
have like a green screen or a computer image behind you,
and it looks like you're on a plane to somewhere awesome,
like to loom, and it's all one big farce. It's
a big look at me. And you saw it over
and over again this weekend as people posted, you know,
from from Coachella on social media. That was a big

(10:52):
part of the weekend. But I was gonna say social
media life, but yeah, that was kind of cool.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
There was a story never remember this. Maybe it's a
little trivia for you guys if someone remembers. There was
a celebrity that was like court side at the Lakers
and they posted a picture and they got called out
because it was like whoa whah, wait a minute, the
Lakers are wearing white tonight in this picture they got
purple on. Like the person got caught red handed, like

(11:19):
what yoh, my bad? Like, oh, I think it was.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
By the way, that's something that people do a lot.
They run down they got weak tickets in the upper
tier to the basketball game or the baseball game. Happens
in sports a lot, and then they go down just
to get that picture up like they were their court
side and they weren't.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Oh yeah, fifty yard line. Meanwhy meanwhile you're in the
end zone upper deck. I think it's lame.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
I know you do it for the gram and that's
the life you live, but I don't know. So just
know that the hot fake it tea, you make a thing,
you're trying too hard at that point.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Hot girls are faking Coachella. They're faking the way through life.
I mean everything, fake pictures on a plane, fake Coachella.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
A couple of years ago. Rich, sorry to cut you
off there. Oh god, I remember there's a video. You
can still find it. So you know, after we had
we had a pretty crazy summer of twenty twenty. We'd
all agree on that, right, lots of stuff going on,
lots of stuff going on. This woman and this is
I think in Santa Monica. She there's a video of
someone recording her from like the street and she goes
up to like a boarded up window. She picks up
a like a power drill and a hammer and then

(12:21):
just poses for a picture and gets right back into
Mercedes and leaves like.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
She she made it seem like that's right. Did you
see that video? I remember it.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
She was trying to help with the cleanup and it was.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
After the Black Lives Matters protests, right where people are
cleaning up, and she did a photo op with like
a power drill and a hammer.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I was like, I was like, ye come here, I'm helping,
and then she just got into a Mercedes and drove on.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
It happens at games. People will be like, here, I
am court side. It's like, you're not court side. You're
not you walk down. You gave a security guard ten
bucks to be like, I'm gonna go take a picture
down there. You're not sitting a row behind Lebron James.
You're not.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
That's all Coachella in a nutshell. It's not for the music.
It's for the look at me moment. It's for the Instagram.
And that's the whole shame of it. When there were
some interesting moments, I saw, you know, things that made
me say hmm. I saw a bad Bunny and post
Malone had an awkward moment. They had some technical difficulties.
Bad Bunny sort of dismissed post Malone on stage. I

(13:14):
was really awkward and weird. I saw that Frank Ocean
had technical difficulties. But again, it was less about the music,
more about everyone's funky and funny outfit.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
So what were the things that got your attention this weekend?
You brought up the NBA playoffs, which we really were
my focus as well. I feel like even the games
that I didn't watch the whole game, if you turn
it on the third quarter and it's a tie game,
you sort of feel like you watched safully.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
That that's the most excitement for sure, Like that they're
all you really need.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I was. I had a couple of work events. I
had to go to the dentist, I had, I had
a couple of things going on. But I'll tell you what.
Danny g and some of our Fox Sports friends were
great with, like, hey, third quarter, tied game and I'm like.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Oh perfect, I just got home, third quarter, one point
game to do.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
But I brought up kaw and what a difference maker
Kawhy is. You're a dude, one of your favorite guys.
I know Covino gravitates towards certain players that aren't on
his teams, and I know there's a guy in the
NBA that you love. And I love Jimmy Butler because
he loves holing Oaks.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
I know, but Jimmy Butler is the type of guy
Cavino where the heat entered the playoffs, as you know,
a lower seed who knows what they could do. Come on,
he's a likable player. But when Jimmy Butler is on,
he could carry a team through an early area. He's
a he's a bad man. Like I'm not I mean
without Giannest, with Giannest being hurt, I'm not shocked to

(14:36):
see Miami even now heroes hurt.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
So yeah, but Jimmy Butler fun to watch, I think again,
just reminders like oh yeah, Kawhi Leonard, he he's a
great player. You know, we forgot about that for a second.
Jimmy Butler one of the best and likable and fun
to watch for sure. These guys are on the main stage,
on a big stage. So again, more people to and

(15:00):
in more observations are being made, things that.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Made you go hmmm.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
In the world of sports, pop culture, live TV, whatever
you did this weekend eight seven seven ninety Fox.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
I'm gonna go to Sacramento because I don't know who
would really want to go there, but I'm going to
go there.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
I know who, uh fifty cent because he busted out
his his very snazzy King's jacket over the weekend. I
don't know if you saw that.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Fact last time, the last time, what was more recent,
the last time the Kings went the playoffs. So when
he had a hit, oh.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
That's a good he said, some good like there's there's
he's had some good songs. No, I mean a year.
I don't know, a couple of years ago. You had
a good about when he's upside down rapping.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
That's my favorite upside down fifty cents my favorite upside
but all my favorite, all his big hits were in
the two thousands of them. But I saw him at
the game. I'm going to tell you this, the Sacramento
Kings have an opportunity out all these observations. They're not
coming out of nowhere. It's a team like the Sacramento Kings,

(16:05):
I promise you gets no national shine during the regular season.
They're not a team that you're watching on the primetime game.
They're not on this day.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
They're not you know, when you're listening to the radio,
when you're watching the talking heads on TV, it's always Lakers.
It's always the same conversations. Why we like to mix
it up. There was a lot of job Morant this year,
there's a lot of Lakers. There was a lot of
KD with the Suns. What's going on with the Celtics.
It's true.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Sacramento is just like, Wow, that's right, they're up to
Northern California. After watching that game, like I did feel like, man,
they might be onto something. I'm not saying they're gonna
beat the Warriors round one. Danny G.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
He's been talking about That's the beauty of our show.
Because Danny G's been talking about it, I'm.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Telling you we talked last week about what does a
team need to turn the corner and change the image
of their team. We saw it with the Seahawks and
football when they got Russ, they got new uniforms, they
got the Twelfth Man. That's a while back then we
said the Warriors, what was the joke the late great
Danny Tanner, Bob Sagan, We used to joke that he
was the only Warriors fan before they got Stephen Draymond

(17:14):
and uh Clay right now, some bonus Harrison Barnes Monk
and of course to Aaron Fox.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Don't forget Kegan Murray now and Murray could be well
considered rookie of the year.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Let me tell you this team has a young, fun
vibe and you know what topped it off. Don't hate
me for this, but you know what sells Iowa Sam gimmicks.
And at the end of that game, well we Milika
Andrews down there at the Aaron Fox like and she's like,
now it's time for the first time in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
We talked that, you know, the ingredients to a championship team.
Every championship team needs a good gimmick or a roundy
cry or a new slogan or something like that.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
And this is their thing. And I looked it up
because I'm like, how long has this been going on?
It's this season. I've only heard the expression a couple
of times, but I promise you light the Beam is
really going to catch on.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
It's their rally monkey, it's their cowboy. Up the light
the Beam, hit the big button like they're on a
g E T and all of a sudden, big purple
Simon cownt golden buzzer.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
It's kind of I mean, it's like it's a reward
for winning the game, you know, and it's so it's
like you can look forward to it.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
It's like a little I do. I think that especially
with you know, the uniforms. They look sweeter now that
the Lion mascot is freshened up. Like everything about the
Sacramento Kings is designed for like, oh wow, we're rebranding
and re you know, like redoing this team a little bit.
You know, it's the same guy that marketed Brussels Brouts
Brussels Sproutsgrant the past few years. Same guy he's marketing

(18:55):
now like the Kings. Let's go to Thomas and Iowa
and then we'll take the rest of your observations and
thoughts from the weekend. What's up Thomas, coming on?

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Rich guys?

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Thanks man. Do you agree that Sacramento, like the rebranding
got a vibe. The rebranding combined with the good young players,
combined with the light the beam. They they're going to
become a team.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Of you know how Golden State has that logo at
cool logo. Yeah, I think that's gonna be the next trend,
the Sacramento Kings.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, that lie all takes is a little bit of
winning and a younger generation to be like, yo, I
like this team Sacramento again. They keep they kept talking
about it all weekend, right first playoff appearance in seventeen years.
This team got a vibe right now, they got a vibe.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Here's another vibe. Man. You got the Sacramento Kings and
the Los Angeles Kings playing a night in the postseason.
Do you parlay those two together?

Speaker 2 (19:47):
I think you parlay the Kings money line. That's a
money line Kings type of night. Are you gonna do that? Though?
For real? Maybe I will. Maybe I'll do that. I'll
throw my METSI since I'm going to the game to
make it more exciting.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

listen live.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
I was Sam, were you a Coachello or was it
just a yeah?

Speaker 3 (20:13):
He had that funny hat on and that Oh you
just went to the desert and took a photo. Okay,
I thought it was someone that looked like Iowa Sam.
I guess anyway. Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio,
hope you enjoyed your Coachella weekend, your NBA Playoffs weekend,
Your love is Blind?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Where's my Reunion Special Weekend? I haven't either. But again,
I'm Steve Cavino. That is Rich Davis.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
We got Iowa, Sam, we got Bersh, we got spot
on the videos at Covino and Rich Dan Byer's got
your updates in a little bit. Stick around for that.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox is our number
to say what's up? Say your damn buyer, if if
you if you're there a friend, uh, your thoughts from
NBA Playoff weekend. You feel my aunts is out there

(21:01):
with this Sacramento If they play it right, their team
could be cool all of a sudden.

Speaker 7 (21:05):
Yeah, No, there's something, there's something organic about it. Yes,
it's you feel like, because how many Sacramento Kings fans
do you know?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Uh, that's question, dude. So you feel like the none? Yeah,
I know one guy, one guy one of our listeners, Lannie.
Oh yeah, you do one guy? Well, our buddy Lannie.
That's it. I know one dude. And you know what, Dan,
I'm not I'm not saying they're gonna become a dynasty,
but it feels like the early days of the Warriors
where it's like, oh wow, like look at this, Oh
that's their stadium. Where do they play oracle like you.

(21:35):
You were like, what's going on here? No one cares
about the Warriors except Danny Tanner. As I said, the
joke wins. Now you got light the beam and all
of a sudden, the Aaron Fox is getting some primetime
love and they're.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Hitting the big button. Like have you know said they're
on AGT. I need a few key and cool players, man, a.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Couple of big wins.

Speaker 7 (21:52):
Yeah, at least enjoy what's happening now. That's all I
would say is take this one win that you've got
and they go up to then even better. You can
continue to talk, but it is early and it would
be tough, but I see what you're saying. The thing
with Sacramento is you just always waited for them to
mess it up or their picks to not work out
or pan out, and this actually has for them.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
All right, Dan Byer again, we're lying from the ti
rack dot com studios and a reminder, testosterone levels are
at an all time No, not this guy, not not
much rich is all chocked up. Chock Choq is the
new champion of natural t boosters. Chock boost testosterone twenty
percent in ninety days and Chock is giving thirty five
percent off with code Well the letters CR show CR

(22:35):
s h ow that's on chock dot com, choq dot
com code cr s h owsus. The Covino and Rich show,
Lakers were chocked up, Heat, Clippers Nuggets. Max Holloway was
all chocked up this weekend and your phone calls now
things that made you go hmmm.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
In the world of sports and entertainment, I'm gonna give
you one that's pretty wild, because I doubt you know this.
I don't know how it's not bigger story because it's
so preposterous. I mean, how bad are the Oakland A's.
They're so bad? How bad are they? How bad are they?
The A's are so bad. They're so bad that security

(23:16):
was going around taking away Mets signs because no one
had A's signs, like they were like, yeah, like Senga
was pitching, so they had every time Sengo would strike
someone out, they're putting up the ghost k's and no one,
like no one seemed to be okay with it. As
our security as like we're letting the other team take

(23:38):
over our our park. It's got a week five. Yeah,
the A's has got a week five for sure. But
then again, three ghosts in a row with the k's
that's KK. Yeah, that's that. You can't stop at three,
you gotta go two or four or more. The story
that came out of Vocal Know that I thought was
wild was that there's a possum on the loose. Do

(23:58):
you guys know have you heard about the possible? I'm
on the loosen? Sorry?

Speaker 8 (24:00):
What?

Speaker 2 (24:03):
They had to move the broadcast area because there's a
possum that that's loose in Oakland that keeps going on
the broadcast booth and leaving let's say, fun little droppings
that stink. And they had to move the Mets broadcast
team because they got to the stadium. They go to
the room to set up all their SNY equipment. They're like,
oh my god, what is that. It's rancid, there's a

(24:25):
Google Oakland possum. It's a story Cavino and they're saying
Oakland should be ashamed, and how now how bad the
team is? How bad everything is?

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Well, okay, so there someone, I think it was either
the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal sort
of profiled the coliseum and they called it the dive
bar of baseball stadiums.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
And Pete.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
The fans love that name now because like a dive bar,
you go in, you get a cheap PBR. Maybe there's
a possum in the wall, you know, leaving a mess
behind for them.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
You know.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
I've said, show up to Fox Sports Radio. I think
it was our Sunday night show on Fox Sports Radio.
But it was the legend of Carlton Fisk that as
famous clip of when he's trying to move.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
The ball back fair that that legendary home run. That clip,
of course, and the camera jerks for camera jerks, it
sort of goes to the clip, but the legend goes
that there was a giant rat in Fenway, in Fenway,
and the cameraman's like, whoa.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
So if you watch, if you rewatch that clip of
crawling Fisk, when you see the camera pan like that,
it's not like he was doing some sort of creative
camera work.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
It was a rat. This isn't this isn't a rat.
This isn't a cat on the field. Maybe it's the
new mascot. It's not a murd it's any they rebrand,
they get rid of the elephant. What's the elephant about anyway? Yeah,
that's a Circus Athletics. I don't know, get rid of
the elephant. Maybe it's a possum now, who knows.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Guys, did you hear about the A's fans wanting to
do a reverse boycott? Did you hear about this? But
what's the reverse boy So a reverse boycott is when
the fans actually go to the game.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
That sounds like a joke. Sounds like when your team
is so bad, the reverse boycott is, hey, go support your.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Team one hundred percent. They want to do it on
June thirteenth.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
It's the rais.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
They want to hold a reverse boycott to show that
they can show up to the game.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
That's so like, uh, proving that, hey, if you guys
put a good product out here, then we'll show up
in the playoffs few years ago.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah, I know it so far. It is the sense, though,
bursh what you're saying is interesting. It's pretty much saying, hey,
we're here. We're just not showing up in the regular
because you're putting here. I want to show you that
we're here. We're showing you that we're here. Reverse stink,
reverse boycott and literally stink because the popstums leaving droppings
all over the broadcast boots and back rooms.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
I might have I want to throw a shout out again.
People watch UFC fight night. But Max Holloway got a
decision over Arnold Allen. It was a battle man, so
a good battle in UFC that made me say hmmcause
Max Hollowey looked tough man. This guy, Arnold Allen, as
he said, he was doing bombs. This guy was hitting
him hard. Max Hollowey just fought back and just dominated

(26:57):
that fight. But a fun one, So props that happened
over the weekend.

Speaker 6 (27:01):

Speaker 3 (27:28):
They're hitting the whammie. Well tonight, what do you think
is gonna go down tonight? You think, uh, they go
up two to oher on the Warriors. Warriors are favored
by two. If you're a gambling man or woman, Well,
some good games tonight. I hope you enjoyed all the
games this weekend. And hope you enjoyed things that made
you go hmm.

Speaker 2 (27:45):

made us go h from the weekend, everything from Super
Mario making almost another one hundred million dollars, Love Is

(28:25):
Blind's reunion Netflix messed up did not stream last night.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Hold on paus. I was talking to Bursch about that
before you got here. And it's not just sweeping the nation,
it's just dominating all over the world. And it hasn't
even been released in Japan yet, if I'm correct about that, right, Bursch,
So think about when it's released in Japan.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
The type of money that's going to bring in worldwide?
Are you insinuetting that Super Mario hasn't even been replaced
been released in the place like the origins.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Exactly, so you know once it's released, theirs to dominate
even more so. Everybody loving it too? And first you
saw it this weekend?

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Right I did? Was it as good as everybody says?
I had fun? I enjoyed it. I had a good time,
for sure, a younger.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Man, but I got two little kids. You think the
kids like it is? Yeah, it's very much. It is
a very simple story. It's it's very fun. It's literally
just like watching the video games. And I say that
in a good way. It was a fun time.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Hi, he Hey, look at that Super Mario. Collect those coins?
It's me let's go. Can we clear something up too?
I was a big time gamer when I was a kid,
not as an adult. I have other things going on.
They're the Mario brothers, but it's Mario and Luigi. Is
it Mario Mario and Luigi Mario? Is that the last name?

(29:41):
Or is it like Mario and his brother? So it's
like you and your brother when we call you and
your brother like the Steve Brothers. Your brother's name is Tommy.
I think you're overthinking it. I don't think I am.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
I believe this was addressed in the live action movie
from the nineties. Yeah, there's a scene in that.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
I hate to break it to you, guys, it is
not addressed in this film.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
I'm so let down. So is it, Mario? Mario? Maybe
I guess I'm just gonna leave you hanging on this one.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Rich I once knew a guy named Elka Here, elka Here.
So there's that. There was the guy that won American Idol,
Phillip Phillips. You know what made me say hm?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
This weekend?

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Watching Jack Black over and over again on social media
singing that Peaches song.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Have you noticed that?

Speaker 7 (30:20):
Or half?

Speaker 2 (30:21):
It made me say that he was on Mandalorian too.
Totally ruined my whole vibe. So Coachella weekend, the return
of Blank Quantity two. There's possums in Oaklands. We were
lighting the beam in Sacramento. We saw Kawhi, the old Kawhi.
We saw Jimmy Bucket showing you that in the playoffs,
Miami's capable if he brings it. So people wearing funny

(30:41):
hats at Coachella.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
And by the way, to answer your question, is it
Mario Mario, It's Mario Mario the creator. I wasn't going
to entertain this bone Heeaderi Shaghetto Mia Motto said that
they originally didn't have last names, but in twenty fifteen
for the thirtieth anniversary, came out and said that both
of their last names are Mario. It's Mario, so it's

(31:05):
Mario and Luigi Mario Mario Mario Mario and Luigi Mario
Mario mar from the creator of Super Mario.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
But I know it Mario Mario, all right. So we
learned a lot this weekend. We went over all of it.
But I did want to say three things. And number one,
I'm saying this because I'm a Mets fan and I'm
not going to get into a whole baseball tirade. But
Peter a Lonzo so underrated, sitting bombs. No one talks
about him. People talk about Trout and Aaron Judge and Chotaniani.

(31:41):
Your job to talk about him.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Then established no one was really talking about the Kings
all season unless you're like way involved in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Danny g was the only guy talking about the Kings. Let'
see hear about Devers and Bookie, Betts and Trout. You
hear about the same guys. Just so is the polar Bear.
He's he has eight home runs already, he's hitting bombs.
He's a likable guy. So I'm here to say, Pete
A Lonzo, I see you, okay. Number two, Lebron James

(32:11):
said something that the minute he said it, you know
when you hear someone say something this is the world
we live in now, because I know you feel the
same way, Carino. You hear someone say something and you're like, Ooh,
I wonder what everyone's gonna think about this. Then you
go to Twitter. You go to Twitter to second something
might rub you a little, like you're like, who is
that mildly sexist or racist? Or was that politically incorrect
or that? Or is that self serving? Like someone says

(32:33):
something and you're like, ooh, let me see what everyone
else is saying. I saw that Lebron James talking about
Austin Reaves. And by the way, Austin Reeves there was
a moment in the fourth quarter where I don't even
know if he was aware of how dominant he was.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
He was aware because he had about one hundred friends
and family, he said there rooting him on, so that
pumped him up even more to score twenty three points.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
What was that quote?

Speaker 3 (32:54):
He said that the mic picked up I am him
or he I am him?

Speaker 2 (32:59):
I'm him, I'm him. It's like when it's like when
you're a bowler, it's like, who do you think you are?
That's the best quote since Pete Webber, It really is.
It was good. I'm him.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
So my point is he was very well aware of
all his fans. You know, he's from that area. Twenty
three points.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
So then don't tell me it's not funny to see
the unassuming little white guy like lightening it up like
it really is. It's still sort of, you know, like
it's pretty funny. This dude's the guy. And Lebron James
said something. I feel like someone told me. Gottley mentioned this,
so he probably had the clip. I was fun to
root for any unassumed And it's Lebron James talking about
Austin Reeves and I just want you to pay attention

(33:43):
and we'll break it down in just a second.

Speaker 8 (33:45):
I know from the first practice that we have when
we grabbed him that it wasn't gonna be long. He
wasn't gonna be a two way player for long. I'm
then a couple of weeks went by, I knew he
was going to get a guaranteed contract at some point.
I just I just know I've been around a game
long enough to know great basketball IQ players, and I
know the type of players that fit with my game,

(34:07):
and and I knew Austin will be that right away.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
So there's a couple of layers here. Layer number one,
tying it back to himself, is that legit because he
is Lebron James, and the Lakers go as Lebron.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Go, So he will think that's any secret. It's just
it stands out a little more when he's saying.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
When I heard it, because I'm like, yeah, I guess,
I guess. The point is to get players that compliment
King James, you know, one of the greatest players of
all time. So when he goes, I knew that type
of player fits my game. Yeah, meaning that.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
He needs people with a high IQ. And it's and
it's evident when you watch him that he has it,
and his passing ability is insane by the way that
that Lebron needs guys he could trust, like that the
behind the back pass. Yeah awesome, Yeah, I mean he's
playing a I don't want to be the guy that

(35:01):
comes down on Lebron because truthfully, I don't hate Lebron.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
I I'm like, I'm rooting. I'm rooting for him more
than hating him. So I look at it this way.
The minute I heard, I was like, oh, people are
gonna say, oh me Bron, Lebron all about him. He
fits my game. But you know what, you gotta fill
Lebron's game. He's the star player. So when you see
a complimentary young guy that he's like, this guy could
fit into the system, I'm Lebron James. What is Lebron

(35:25):
supposed to fit Reeves game? So I get Lebron's back there,
believe it or not.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
I'm like, yeah, but you hear things like that, and
you know it's gonna get dissect But.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
When you hear the full quote, because the quote you're
seeing on social media leaves out a couple of the
nice things he says about Reeves conveniently, So what was
the isolated quote? The isolated quote was I know the
type of player that fits my game. I knew Austin
would be that it's like they left out all the compliments,
right right, Yes, and yeah he had a context.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
It does make it sound like, oh another, oh, another
quote that makes it all about him.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
And then part two of that is, I'm not saying
Lebron's saying like A told you so, I knew this guy.
But I wonder if greatness and I'll say Lebron greatness,
and I'm gonna tie it into the forty nine ers
because that's my team. But do you remember, because it's
actually a really legit analogy, do you remember when Brock
Purdy surprised everyone and played out of his mind? And

(36:19):
what did Fred Warner and all the leaders on the
forty nine ers defense say, Oh, we knew because we
practice against this guy every day and he's he's checking us.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
They weren't surprised, as Lebron stated too, Yeah, he wasn't
surprised at all by this, So he's happy for me.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Oh. Lebron did continue to say that he hopes he
does it again. I don't think it's I don't think
it's self serving, and I don't think it's know it
all behavior because who has more insight than him? When
brock Purty when everyone's like, oh, Niner, season's over, and
then brock Perty, you know, bangs out like seven wins
in a row, and pro bowler future Hall of famers

(36:55):
like Fred Warner are saying, yeah, not surprising to me.
We practice against this guy every day and we know
he's a gamer. I think Lebron James is saying the
same thing. So if you're gonna hate Lebron saying that,
you should have hated Fred Warner saying that about Brock
Purdy or any other young player that gets the endorsement
of his team, because truthfully, some of these guys, when

(37:19):
you see him practice, a lot of the star players
get the vibe of like, this guy's got something, and
you know what, it's pretty cool to see Austin Reeves, who,
let's be honest, his first playoff game. It's all about opportunity.
And I was saying, burst Dan Bayer, if you guys
have any other examples of guys that could have very
easily wasted away but got an opportunity. I mean, people

(37:43):
can say Tom Brady, right, if Drew Bledsoe never got hurt,
would we have ever really seen a starter Tom Brady?

Speaker 3 (37:49):
If again, the Austin Reefs story is that he was undrafted. Yeah,
he could have fizzled in the G League.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
I mean he could have been sizzling, you know, a
two way player, back and forth G League back, you know,
bench player, could have went back and forth. There was
a need. He fulfilled the need. I'll give you one.
Jacob de Grom was a shortstop in college spot starter.
Mets rotation was in shamble, so they called Jacob de

(38:15):
Grom to start. You know, the guy that makes like
fifty million year for the Texas Rangers. Now, he only
got the spot starts because it was a dire situation.
So any team backup, quarterback, wide receiver, special teams guys.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
It's two factors, just getting the opportunity and then delivering
when you get that out of it.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Well, like a guy like Austin Reeves is a great
example of a guy that, you know, let's be honest,
based on his vibe, based on his look, based on
his game, could very easily have been a back and
forth G League type of guy. But given the opportunity,
he's showing up in the playoffs. And I'm not saying
it because I'm a Niners fan. It's very rock purty ish, right, Like,

(38:52):
here's a guy, give him a chance. Wow, yeah, right, yeah.
Twenty three points in a big game like that, it's
awesome to see. Let's go to Lorenzo Virginia. Lorenzo, are
you hating on Lebron or do you feel like he
was legit in saying that? Buddy?

Speaker 9 (39:09):
Let me prefaces by saying, I'm a heat fan. I'm
a big Lebron teams fan.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
But he's a little full.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Of it right now.

Speaker 9 (39:14):
Okay, this is the same guy. This is the same
guy who felt that Russell Westbrook was a perfect fit.
That is true, was a terrible fit for that offense.
And here's the fact is, and this is the type
of point guard that Lebron needs, does he wants to
not have the ball as much? He needs first of all,
one that can handle the rocks, but also that most
importantly is a spot up shooter, because when Lebron wants
the ball in his hand, and it's gonna have listen,

(39:35):
if this is a game seven, listen, this is all great,
it's a game won. If it was a game seven,
you know who's gonna have the ball in their hands?
You know, this is just typical, but this is typical
cheesy Lebron I kind of know. I mean, I just
laughed because, like I said, he thought Russell Westbrook was
a good fit.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
And that's true.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Lorenzo speaking of Westbrook, what a what a I mean
for a guy that shot like horse crap the whole
game and played bad crap, you know, it did make.

Speaker 7 (39:58):
Me talk about effort.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
You know, I will say that that's the word, and
thanks for the Colorenzo. Russell Westbrook played terrible but made
up for it all with the effort some of those rebounds,
the rebounds, the just all out effort in the fourth quarter.
May just say he may have been you know, west
Brick during the game, but when it mattered, he really

(40:21):
showed the type of guy he could be.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
I was just gonna say, you know, scored nine points,
but showed that he's a good fit on that team.
It's a game to be really important to that win
for them.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
So you know, sometimes it doesn't matter what you do
all along, Like a guy could in baseball, guy could
go oh for five, but if he hits a you
know RBI single in the tenth inning, key key play
on defense at the end of the game, in the defense.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
You know what made me say, hm, what about how
well a d played man? How well his defense was
this weekend?

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Russell Westbrook not only that one rebound, but what about
at the end when he threw the ball? Yeah, Booker
off of Booker. That was great. But here's the one
question about Russell Westbrook. Will ask you before we make
like your favorite baseball player and move on. Russell Westbrook.
After the game, there's that alteraction, that interaction, that altercation

(41:09):
with the Suns fans. I think that was halftime. Was
it halftime? I'm pretty sure double check that if we
can whenever and wherever that was, Yeah, it was halftime.
I got to ask you, where's the line, because you, yeah,
you don't want to be talking about someone's family or
their kids or this that. But are we not allowed

(41:30):
to trash talk anymore? In general? Like it seems like
Russell Westbrook thinks that no one's even allowed to trash talk.
But then again, I think it's sort of low class
to like getting another grow man's face. But yeah, your
mom or man.

Speaker 3 (41:40):
You know, it's there's been a lot of pushback on
what we thought was the normal way to be the generations.
Why were we always so accepting of putting the players down?

Speaker 2 (41:50):
You know what I was saying, You guys are younger dudes.
Do you look at it and say, you know, these
fans are garbage for like talking in another grow man's
face like that? Or is it like he's an NBA player,
Deal with it. It's they're fans.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
I think that fans are out of control big time.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
Yeah, more than ever.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
I think that that guy is an idiot.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Can you imagine? But as you're a good dude, right,
I don't do that.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
It goes back to that philosophy Rich and I we
live vi entitlement right there. How can you defend somebody
if you would never do that? Would you talk that
way to anyone, let alone like a confessional athlete who's
just doing what?

Speaker 2 (42:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (42:28):
I would never do that. So I can't defend that
type of behavior from any fan. No, I don't like it.
But that being said, did he need to go in
there and stir things up? No, that was a little
over the top.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
Two. Maybe ignore the the loser fan, but he gets
he gets so much crap from people. I think he's
just Russell Westbrooks had enough. Like I'm going to the
I'm going to the Mets Dodgers game tount my kids.
I got pretty nice seats, not breaking, just saying because
I'm if I scream at it a player, can you
imagine me if I see like I'm a Mets guy,
Imagine I'm like, hey Max Muncy, I started just screaming

(43:00):
terrible things in him. I would never do that. That's
like a low class. Low class accepted it for years.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
But do we accept the fact that that might be
the one good things of both to the tables. They've
put a kai bosh to certain things we just have
accepted for years. You know, there's no reason that athletes
should be playing by the rule of of yeah, you
just deal with it.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
You lose your cool and you swing at somebody like
we saw last week in baseball, But I'll tell you
that's so cool. You know it shouldn't be as accepted
as we've made it throughout the years.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
You're saying, don't be like Rendon and grab a fan
by the shirt.

Speaker 3 (43:36):
Yeah, you know why I do that either. He has
suspended five games.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
We've also seen Russell Westbrook get into fan interactions a lot.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yeah, he's he's a tough guy like he said this
like he'll he'll he'll say like, oh, this guy said
something races about my family, so he's listening. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
I like a kid one a couple of years ago. Yeah,
it was there's like a kid who said something to
him and he didn't like that. He said, I can't
remember that.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
It's a It is interesting because Kavino and I have
the number one rule, which is I'm not going to
defend behavior that I would never do. If I'm not,
I'm not gonna get in someone's face. Can you know
has a story about his.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Old You could boost somebody and heckle somebody you know,
and and get your point across without getting personal and
it chilly.

Speaker 2 (44:16):
Good fucking well you stay like you know these when
you get like in another grow man's face, Like for real,
are you talking about my my buddy and dan Uggla. Yeah,
this is that you thought you'd never hear a dan
Uggla story on the show You were my buddy went
so wrong? On dan Uglo training former Florida Marlins. Did
he play for anyone else? I pictured dan Uggla as

(44:37):
a Marlin.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
Remember he had that bad run where he made all
those errors in a row, remember that, like.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
Or something.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
Yeah, something happened. He made like terrible errors back to
back to back or whatever. My buddy like hackled him
so bad that it ended up haunting my buddy. He
went out of his way to reach out to Dan
track him down years later because somehow that clip went
viral and my buddy didn't want to be associated with
that type behavior and track them down. And I forget
if danieugs said I don't even remember what you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
Or accepted his apology.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
I don't remember what happened, but I know that my
friend went out of his way to make amends and
make it right because it bothered him that he stooped
so low. And a lot of times alcohol is involved, right,
So hey, uh let me ask dan is dan in
the update room. Dan, you're you're a big sports fan,
your father, you're a good dude. Do you think it's

(45:26):
okay to like yell that much at these athletes? Do
you think it's low class?

Speaker 7 (45:30):
I'm not a fan of it. At some point, you
have to. It's one thing like when you're known as
like the heckler. You know we've heard that before of
like Oh, that's that guy's deal. But yeah, to go
over the top, I can't say so when.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
You make it personal, I think you say you sucky.
You saw, yeah, you suck. If you're a Dodger's game,
if you're a Dodger's game, if you're a Dodgers fan
and the Padres are visiting, and it's like now about
ing Manny Machada, When you're like, boll, you suck. That's
a normal appropriate behavior. But if Machado's coming to to
dug out, you've looked up the names of his family members, right,

(46:03):
and you start like talking about his wife or girlfriend
or kids or something. That's like what type of loser
behavior is at So I'll never back up the fan
getting in an athlete's face, like you could trash talk,
but I don't know.

Speaker 7 (46:14):
You have to have a sense of a line, right,
like like like you know how far you can push
it because it is this give and take.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
But if you don't know where the line is, then
you shouldn't be doing on.

Speaker 3 (46:24):
We saw a little taste of if you don't know
what we're talking about it, I went viral last night
on Russell Westbrook's Way Back to the Locker room. At halftime,
he gets in the face of a fan fan kids up,
it looks like they might go at blows and security got.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
In the middle get torn in half. Yeah. The guy,
I mean yeah, he was like he was like a
chubby like old white guy. He was Russell Westbrook would
have a nice well years New York guys.

Speaker 7 (46:44):
I mean, you know outside of maybe Philadelphia, you know,
like talk about toughest fans, but you guys would know,
like I was a fan of that.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
Some really crappy behavior. You go to a Yankees game, man,
and I've I've gone to Yankee games as a Mets fan,
and some of these guys like they don't buy about
the world. Kevin don't have a rule. You could hit
us up on Twitter, Instagram, anything. At Coveno Rich you
could say you hate us, were the worst guys in
the world. But you know, like you talk about someone's
like wife or girlfriend or kids or something.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
Like that's like, I remember, I witnessed the lowest guy.
I remember I was in by the bleacher clean and
I'll tell you what they said next.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
It was is what not the worst thing Kavino has
heard at the stadium. Yeah, the worst thing I heard
I'll let you know what that is. Plus we got
to talk Ben asflex i mean
