We got the NBA taking a little break, hockey coming up,
and just about an hour from now, baseball all over.
Steve the Seger will have us all over what's going
on in the world of sports. But first, let me
go ahead say what up to my man, the Vanilla
Funny VJ Husky, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
It was good.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
It's the nigga, that's the big who, the big Vanilla fund.
You gotta say the whole thing like a trial call
quest like you gotta say the whole thing. Oh no,
you heard of me, and don't use that drop introduce
myself again. Okay, they know me out there, they never
heard of know me out there. Stop using that drop.
Produce myself.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
I'll say this right now.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
The Miami Heat and a world of paying world are
hurt as did Denver Nuggets come out take a commanding
I look, there's no such thing as a non commanding
three one lead. There's no soft three one lead, there's
no lightweight three one lead.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Every three one lead is commanding.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
As the Denver Nuggets go ahead and take excuse me,
game four of that series, Game five of that series. Yeah, well, now,
so we're in this situation where you had in two
games and consecutives. Yeah, Murray go thirty points triple double. Yo, kids,
thirty point triple double. And then what I thought in
game at the end of Game three, it's like, I,
(01:39):
you know, maam had a shot to cut the lead
to six points. He miffed it with a minute in
fifteen a minute and thirty seconds left, and everybody in
Miami seemed content to just pack it up.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I don't know if everybody ever forgot it was first
to four.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
But then you come out game four, yo, Kicch goes
back to the locker room for a period in the
first half, you had all this different stuff going on,
miamis still not able to get a win, and really,
like you said, commanded three to one lead. And this
is how a lot of people had it drawn up
nuggets and five nuggets and six.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Yeah, I had a gentleman sweet when we first picked
it first picked. The series should have probably been as sweet.
But the Heat did do what they needed to do
in Game two. Had a great fourth quarter there up
until last night. They were plus eighty in the fourth
quarter in the postseason and multiple double digit comebacks before.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
The last two games they were up. I think it
was like plus ninety five. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
But you know, this Nuggets team is just two big,
too long, too talented. It's just their time. This team
is starting to remind me of when the first year
the Golden State Warriors won their championship. We could kind
of we can see it coming. We knew they had
the pieces.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
You had. You had Steph, you had Clay, and.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
You had Dramond, and then you kind of added these
other role players and these other pieces around them. You
had a really good coach that's a basketball lifer in
Steve Kirk. You have the same thing with Michael Malone,
who was a basketball life for twenty seven years, son
of a coach, coached in college, assistant on a bunch
of different squads, including the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs. Like,
(03:11):
this guy's been around, he's been under some great basketball minds.
And you got Jokis, which is the undoubtable star number two,
and then you got Murray, who's the undoubtable star number two.
Excuse me, jokes number one, Murray number two. And then
that third piece, which would be like the Draymond piece,
is starting to look like Aaron freaking Gordon. And I
(03:32):
want to give props to Mike Malone. Michael Malone, excuse me,
the way he's coached this game. I'm watching the game
last night, and you notice how they tried to get
Porter going early.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Right, they try to get Michael Porter Junior.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
First put of the game was a pin down for
Porter Junior to exactly three.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
He took their first four of their first six shots.
I said out loud watching the.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Game, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Go to Gordon, get him going, because that's where the
Mitch matches. I understand you want to get Michael Porter
Junior going because he just hasn't been shooting well.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
But it's just starting to look like he's just off.
This series are something mental.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
But the minute they go back to Aaron Gordon, the
minute they say, Okay, this isn't working.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
We try to get our guy going.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
We know what Joke is just gonna give us, we
know what Murray's gonna give us, but we got to
get another guy going because we don't know we can
get this from Aaron Gordon.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
All Aaron Gordon does is go.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Out and dominate anybody who is guarding him, including Jimmy Butler,
which I hope we get to a little later in
this show, that gentleman right there. But this is starting
to feel like when Golden State won their first championship
and you could kind of see some runs possibly coming
two out of the next four, maybe the next five.
If you look at the Western Conference, the Western Conference,
(04:41):
other than the Nuggets, it's up for grabs. If you
really go through team for team, there's question marks galore.
There's no question marks with the Golden Excuse me, what
the Denver Nuggets. And also remember this at the trade deadline,
guys who made zero moves at the trade deadline, the
Denver Nuggets. They figured this is what we got, this
is what's gonna work. We're not changing nothing. This is
(05:01):
how we're gonna go win the championship. I think this
thing is over Monday night. I don't care what type
of game do he think they're bringing back to the Mahai,
you know, the the the ever Uh, what's the word
I'm looking for.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
The elevation. Elevation.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yeah, the elevation is gonna be a problem for them,
and it was in Game one. But I just think
this thing's over, man, and I think we're we're we
could be looking at the next I don't like to
use the dynasty word loosely, but the next team that,
like it or not, they're gonna be involved in the
Western Conference Finals, in the NBA Finals for for the
(05:37):
foreseeable future, much like the San Antonio Spurs. Also, they're boring.
No one wants to watch them. Yeah that's fine. We
could be boring. You don't have to watch us. But
what we'll do is we'll just go keep winning. And
I just think you can see that with the differ nugget.
I think this thing's over Monday, Martin.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Well, part of the reason why it looks like that
is probably the most likely result is so we saw
in game goodness gracious, as I watched the Cleveland Guardian
start of ball into the outfield trying to catch a
guy stealing second anyway, we saw in game in game three, right,
(06:14):
we saw in game three where.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Like Michael Porter Junior wasn't there. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Aaron Gordon, for all of his offensive ability, and we've
seen him obviously be one of the most athletic players
in the NBA, losing the dunk contests to Zach Levine
highly contested obviously, but to see him, you know, he's
and they are, like Aric Gordon's getting hustle points, you
know what I'm saying, Like Chris Brown is getting hut.
(06:42):
I mean, I'm not Chris Brown, Christian Brown, rather the
rookie from Kansas.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
They're getting the hustle points.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Part of the thing that Michael Porter Junior wasn't getting
in the first two games in the series and part
of the reason why he went from playing about thirty
eight minutes a game to about twenty five minutes a game, right,
to get the hustle guys in there, Bruce Brown, those
those got The reason why that works is because the
stars are starring. The reason why Christian Brown comes in there,
(07:13):
has it misses one shot, goes six for seven or
seven for eight, whatever, it's fifteen points and Aaron Gordon's
obviously better than him and plays a bigger role. But
like Aaron Gordon's not shooting jump shots, they're not truly
calling plays for Aaron Gordon. What's happening is the great
players on the team are dominating and getting those guys
(07:34):
involved and make and they and to their credit.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah, I'm about to say yeah, to their credit.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
They're doing the things to be involved there, cutting at
the right time, Yeah, okay, getting the offensive rebound, staying playable,
playing playing defense exactly, staying playable balls, because if you're
not playing defense, you can't play. So staying playable is
a real thing, right. I'm not trying to take none
of that away. But the thing that my takeaway wanting
these first four games to the finals is Miami don't
(08:03):
got that. I'm done hearing how second round Jimmy is
playoff Jimmy. I'm done hearing about how BAM's a superstar
because though man, everybody else they leaving him open at
the top of the key, still hitting well, he didn't
hit the shot that would have cut a six point
eight point lead to six. With Duncan, Robinson had back
(08:24):
to back three pointers standing right behind him and the
three point line I was, I mean right there, that
makes it a five point game. Would with a minute
and a half left in the in game three? Would
Bricks been their best player though?
Speaker 2 (08:36):
In the finals?
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Would you agree with that that bam out of by
who has been to Miami, he's best player in the finals.
I mean, come on, now, he's playing better than him
for the Miami Yeah, but you.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Know what, the wintertime in North Dakota is a lot
warmer than a winter time in Antarctica. But I ain't
going to vacation and neither one, so sure he might
be like you know what I'm saying, like cool, Congratulations
will being the smartest kid in summer school.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
You know, like that does it?
Speaker 3 (08:58):
It does?
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Don't clown summer school man. That's an accomplishment leading the
kids alone.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Congratulations for being the smartest kid in summer school. Guy PLoud,
you made the the Honor Ball in June. Okay, congratulations
on that. So sure, you're the best player on You've
been the best player of this series.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
But I don't have any confidence.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
As well as poorly as Jimmy Butler has been playing
Man two and a half minutes left in the game.
You want Bam handling the rock or Jimmy handling the rock?
I rest my kid.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
No, no, let me answer. You asked me a question,
Let me answer. In this series, give it the band
stop it. That's why he I mean, right there, he
blew as me. So I'm giving you answer, Bro, he blewed.
I mean you was right there in Game three, I
get it.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
He blew the.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Shot that would have cut it to a two possession game,
like he was right there.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Yeah, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna put that on Bam,
though I thought who else would it be.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
He's standing there with seven feet with jokis the guy
who the other guy. The other thing about it is
too when the best offensive player, you gotta make him
play defense. You gotta make him come to the top
of the key, go to the go to the top
of key, go to the paint. And then, not to
mention Jokich again out of the game for a significant
point in the first half.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
What's maam doing.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I mean, if you if the same thing with the
bonus in the first round, if they can leave you
open at the top of the key, I don't want
to hear.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
It yeah, I'm gonna disagree with that. You can't shoot
a mid range jumper. I don't want to hear it.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
But Bam can shoot a mid range dan. Then why
is he not shooting them? He's he is shooting them.
What game are you watching, brou Look, what game are
you watching? He'm shooting the mid range jumper. He's shooting
from the top of the key, both sides of the elbow.
He's been there, He's been their best player in this finals.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry that that's the I guess the
term I'm gonna use it.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
I guess that's the Summer School award.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
Is that you're you're not even you're not even a
starter team, but you're the best player on the biggest
stage of your sport. When your best player isn't being
the best player. Bam has scored twenty points some more
in every game he actually is playing defense and crashing
the boards and doing He's not supposed to go out
and have the thirty five to forty point games.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
That's what. They don't leave you open. And you are
a superstar, I'm gonna need.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
You to score well. BAM's not a superstar though we
both exactly. No, we both agreed, exactly. To my point,
Miami don't got not.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Nearly the level of star talent that Denver does.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
And the reason, like everybody else, like if Dunk, like
all these other undrafted players, you were talking about the
undrafted players and this and that, there's one lottery pick
out there all the time.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
There's one. Yeah, that's it. And his name is bam Adebayo.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
And the guy his matchup is putting wi Wilt Chamberlain
numbers up in the postseason. Okay, he's putting Wil Chamberlain
numbers up in the postseason thirty and no, he's not
getting thirty points, twenty rebounds of ten assists on everybody.
It's just not happening. He's averaging a triple double. But
that right there, that's Wilt Chamberlain level stuff. We haven't
(11:47):
seen it since Will right. So now he's getting abused,
he's getting left open, he's bricking jump shots. Game three,
first play the game, they go to bam, what does
he do? Reverse layup? Think right then and there, like
that's the matchup Jimmy is putting, I mean Jamal Murray again.
Game four, he was incredible, but in the games that
they have had a close game. Do you see Jamal
(12:09):
Murray the water's kind of cut off. He's not having
the same games that he had against the Lakers in
which he's going off and hitting those three port and
torpedoes that feel like depth charges coming down when he
comes down to three, bam and you look around.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
It's a four point game, but it feels like eight. Right.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
That's the one the things that Jamal Murray, Steph Curry,
and a few other players have the unique ability to do.
And I'm not saying Jamal Murray, it's Steph Curry, but
you know what I'm talking about in that ability to
feel like, Wow, this guy, no matter what I do,
can't miss.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Miami doesn't have anything like that.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
And the fact of the matter is Jimmy Butler is
the one that's getting all the defensive attention, Like I'm
sorry if I'm supposed to add back.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Like when Jamal Murray was a scorer, Yokis was right there.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
When Yokic was out of the game in the second quarter,
Everybody's like, oh, what is me?
Speaker 5 (12:56):
You just throwt like you've been banging on all postseason. Bro,
you don't you don't like bambit.
Speaker 6 (13:02):
I don't like.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
I do not like open at the free throw line. Period.
If you stand wide open at the free throw line and.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
The defense says no, we want to leave you open,
left wide open the Lakers, and you know what, Aaron
go and you know what, Aaron Gordon, you know what.
Aaron Gordon is not a superstar. Nobody's claiming. No one's
making claim that he is.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
But no one's claim that bam Mental Bible is a superstar.
You and I both agree, I don't know. He likes
to go overwhelmingly.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Yeah he's not, and he's and sure he's the best
player in the series right now, which doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
They'd been getting their ass kicked.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
Okay, So then you make sure you remember that argument
the next time you tell me having the best backup
in the NFL matters, Then it's almost the same damn
thing you're gonna tell me.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
No, no, it's not.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
If you can tell me, If you're gonna tell me
that the best player for a team right now doesn't
matter because they're losing, Just keep that same damn narrative.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
For everything we talk about. Then just keep that same narrative.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
Then the guy's been playing the best that he can,
and it's giving them everything he can't. Last night, if
you look at twenty twenty and eleven last night on.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
How many shots seventeen did he have seventeen? That's one
of the seventeen shots you're saying it's good. Said, oh
my god, that should be forty likeell seriously, oh my god,
I should be forty eight.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
So so so aight and night eight or nineteen four
or four from the line, two offensive rebounds, eleven boards,
three assists, and twenty points.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
So twenty and.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Eleven each shot that he took of those nineteen and
worth two points. No, okay, and he finished with twenty okay.
What's percentage of that eight and nineteen? What's the percentage
of that? I'm not great half percent with that? Forty
two forty three percent from the field?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Right? Correct? Somebody, somebody what about the ones? He's not mad.
It's just about that. It's just about it.
Speaker 5 (14:39):
So so about forty two forty three percent from the field.
I'm just trying to I'm just trying to figure out
once again, they're out. They're out, man, I'm trying to
figure out your point, really, because what I'm trying to
like we're saying the same thing. What I'm saying that
they're out. Man, Miami has no superstars. I'm done hearing
about it. I'm done hearing about how they're superstars. There's
no level. You're taking Jimmy Butler off the superstar.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Yeah. No, Like second round Jimmy it was, it was amazing.
You know what else with like the airon Fox before
he broke his finger was incredible in the playoffs, But no,
like the consistency has to be there.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Where are you? Where are you? I feel you just
keep that same man, where are you?
Speaker 4 (15:16):
No?
Speaker 3 (15:16):
If you're gonna tell me that this guy is just
like you know what, if they maybe had a better
damn backup instead of Cody Zeller, then they would be
a better situation.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
I don't say I listen.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Like I said, we've agreed weeks ago, bam at Obio
is not a superstar. But what he's giving them the
fact that he's their second that being that he's their
second best player, playing the best in a four game
series so far in these finals. I mean, I'm just
I'm just trying to figure out how how we're still
just jumping and not gonna you just don't like the guy,
and that's fine.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
I get it. I don't care about him at all.
I don't care about none of these pears.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
What I'm just saying, Look, there's a massive gap between
even just like what Anthony Davis was doing, who people
crush all left and right say street closed and this
and that. A humongous gap between what Anthony Davis did
against Yo Kitchen a four game sweep, and what bam
Attebio was doing getting out class night in night out,
Like I'm sorry, Like I'm just watching him get abused,
like I'm watching Yokis golden nuts on him and then
(16:06):
have no match on the off, Like at least, at
least Anthony Davis was a roller coaster, right, Like he
could go for forty and then come back down you
and have a bad seventeen games the Lakers.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Then he averages a triple double against him. Yeah, so
he's giving it to everything. I have to give you, congratulations.
Nine of eighteen is exactly forty two percent, all right,
without and even doing the AIRMAF.

Martin and VJ coming to your life from the Tireck
dot com studios. You know, I feel like Duncan Robinson
and Max Struson. You know, uh, Cody Martin would love
to take a ride with bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler. However,
those superstars are sitting on the bench. What did Charles
Barkley say the bus drivers? They must be on struck
like the Hollywood Riders at this point. But let's move
(17:47):
on to the ice right now. We got the Florida Panthers,
the Golden Knights. Florida came back in Game three.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Gotta win.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Kept this series interesting because I don't know. I think
the only thing more commanding than a three to one
leader the three to zero lead. And that's what would
have happened had Vegas won that game. BJ, what do
you expect to see out of the hockey? Just a
little bit here?
Speaker 5 (18:07):
I like the Panthers to take tonight's game. I was
just talking to Brandon about that. What a hell of
a Game three the other night where Vegas is strong
man like, Like I said before, Vegas strong. Before the
Stanley Cups started, this team was the best team in
the West. There was no doubting that. They're big, they're fast,
their aggressive, they're puck passing is so precision.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
It's it's it's just beautiful to watch.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Sometimes you don't even hear the puck touch the stick
on passes.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
That's when you know it's sweet. It's like a sweet
baseball swing.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
They say the cleanest hits are the ones like the
home runs, the ones you don't even fill the ball,
hit the bat, you know what I'm saying. And that's
what Vegas brings. But Florida is scrappy. They got veterans.
You bring in a guy like Star that's won a
Cup before. Ku Chuck, that's just balling. He gets knocked
out of the game, comes in and saves, but it
comes in and saves them.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Is that is that? Could Chuck theme music with Florida
fan the sting music. Yah, We're gonna do the picture
just a second.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
I think it was a little sneak preview problem, but yeah,
I love the way they hung in there. Ka Chuck
comes back in, saves them in the third under two
minutes to go, and then Carter Verniegee the first shot
that they get off in overtime, just a blast from
about thirty five feet out man through everybody, past everybody,
top shelf, up to the right shoulder of Aiden Hill
(19:25):
to send that bad boy to win that game in overtime.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
I think they win tonight. I like them to win
the night. I like them to just keep thinking. But
they're gonna have to get more shots off. Brandon, you'll
appreciate this. In the fourth and the third period the
other night, look at the clock and it's about five
twenty six left on the clock. They only got seventeen
shots on goal. You've got to put the puck on
goal at least twenty five twenty six times in order
(19:48):
to have a shot against Vegas and Aiden Hill, who's
just been standing on his head in the Stanley Cup
so far.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
So I do think that Aiden Hill will continue to
stand on this said, I like Vegas tonight. I think
they end up taking I think we saw another commanding
three to one lead. I'll go with the score of
three to one, and with that in mind, let's go
through these Let's we're gonna do a little hockey parlay
for tonight's game.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
We did it for Game three. I know I hit
my leg.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
I won't speak for anybody else, but let's go ahead
and get this thing started.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
If we could for my leg of the hockey of the.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Game four parlay that we will run a here on
Martin and Vjay and check in over the course of
the show. I'm gonna go back before I did Game three,
Jonathan martinz on anytime, anytime goal plus one point eighty.
This guy has been a machine. Ten of the last eleven,
eleven of the last twelve points he has scored in
this postseason.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
I like it again. VJ. Who you got?
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Give me my man could chuck again, but I'm going
with the one point five over in points he scores
to night, and he also gets an assist.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
I'll throw a back on one there. Two, I'm gonna
ta you two.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
Aiden Hill under on the twenty nine and a half
says I just mentioned it. Florida doesn't get a lot
of shots all. He's not gonna need to save thirty
shots tonight. He'll probably need to save about twenty one
to twenty two. But I'll still take the Florida Panthers
to win the game tonight. I think there's some points
score tonight. I like four to three Florida Panthers. That
not this bad boy up to two. Going back to Vegas, Brandon,
(21:14):
who you got?
Speaker 6 (21:15):
I Am going to take Brandon Montour, Panthers defenseman with
over three and a half shots. He's averaging about and
a half shots this postseason.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
He's got about.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
Seventy shots on goal, scored a goal is last game.
He he actually just had a baby. His wife just
had a baby.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Sure did. Yeah, yeah, the.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Dad, you know what I'm saying. A lot of times
people get the dad bumping and then boom.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
There you go. He scored last game.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
He's one of those offensive defensemen where he likes to
creep up in the zone and get fucks on net.
So I'm gonna take Brandon Montour over three and a
half shots on goal.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
All right, So we got for that to happen too,
They're gonna have to get in the power play tonight
for him to get that many shots. Florida's gonna have
to get in the power play tonight for him to
be able to get up there and get a lot more shots.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Tonight.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
We've got Brandon Montour over three and a half shots,
Aiden Hill under twenty nine and a half saves, and
I'll go Donathan Martin, So anytime.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Go plus one eighty, go ahead and put that one
in there. Steve de Seger, please tell.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Us what's going on everywhere else in the world of sports,
my friend, Hello.
Speaker 8 (22:16):
The Belmont Stakes were running New York on Fox TV
in the past half hour, and we now have the
first female trainer to win a Triple Crown race. Jenna
Antonucci's horse Arcangelo is the winner at Belmont and the favorite,
Forte finished in second. This trainer, Antonucci, has been a
trainer for over a decade, is one one hundred and
(22:38):
sixty races or horses have earned millions. But this was
her first ever start with one of her horses in
a Triple Crown race. So no Derby for this horse,
no Preakness this year. Did get the win in the
prep race in New York for the Belmont, and then
this a Triple Crown victory, Mage, who had won the
Derby and finished third in the Preakness, was not in
(22:59):
the Belmont. Of nine fourte the Derby favor that got
scratched day of the race because of a foot injury,
returned and was the favorite and thanks to a late charge,
finished in second. Here But as far as Bob Bafferts
Worse National Treasure, which started at five to one trying
to get back in the winner circle for a second
straight jewel of the Triple Crown, well led for most
(23:21):
of the race and got passed by over half the
field in the final Stretch number one AGAs Fiantek won
the French Opener, third title there in the last four years.
Sunday Nascars on Fox TV from Sonoma's road Course. The
last race of the year on Fox. NBA Finals Game
five isn't until Monday night at Denver. The Toronto Raptors
new head coach will be Darko Ryakovich from the Grizzly
(23:42):
Stanley Cup Final. Game four starts in over half an hour.
Florida hosting one seed. Vegas Golden Knights lead the series
two games to one to Major League Baseball Braves got
a couple of early two run homers from Osuna and Akunya.
Braves beat the National six four to seven straight wins
for at lat The Mets seven game losing streak is
over after a five to one victory at Pittsburgh. Diamondbacks
(24:05):
win again five nothing at Detroit. Tigers have lost eight
in a row. Colorado's lost sixth straight lost at home
to the Padres three to two. In progress. Astros with
a five to one lead at Cleveland in the bottom
of the fifth and starting up in a few minutes.
For most of the country. On Fox TV, it's Red
Sox at Yankees. Some we'll see Cubs at Giants. The
late game ten pm Eastern, we'll have the Angels hosting
(24:28):
the Mariners. Everything else was daytime, including road wins for
the Twins, Reds, and Marlins Orioles one again. Dodgers got
a nine to nothing victory at Philadelphia, and the Oakland
A's won in ten innings two to one at Milwaukee.
So the A's record up to sixteen and fifty.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Back to you, Thanks Steve Martin and Vday coming to
your life from the tire rack dot com studios. You
said you wanted to talk about a little Jimmy Butler VJ.
Normally have mart Medina in this time. He'll come on
at five o'clock, so we'll go into it with him.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
But what did you have to say about Jimbo.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
That? I just think that Jimmy Butler is just kind
of ran its course. The Jimmy Butler train. I think
it's run its course now. Weeks ago, months ago, probably
when we first started doing the NBA playoffs. I told
you all I had Jimmy Butler in the category that
I think are really good to borderline great players.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
I'm tough. I'm a tough judge.
Speaker 5 (25:24):
Everybody just doesn't get the great generational and all those tags.
I'm a tough judge, but I just always see him
as one of those guys that if you're telling me
you're gonna hitch your championships aspirations to him and your
goals to him, good luck and you could get to
a finals and think about it. They get canceled out,
they get closed out on Monday, that'll be two finals
(25:45):
that he's gone to. Honestly, look, that'll be two finals
he's gone to and he's lost them both in five.
As the guy as the bus drivers. I see Charles
Barkley up here on the TNT Face Off pregame show
between for the Stanley Cup finals, looking like he just
got off the golf course with horrible swing.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Actually the swing is a lot better than it used
to be.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
But I just feel like we're in this weird we're
kind of in this warp time zone right now of
who's next. Like someone asked me the other day, is
Yoki is the best player in the league. And I said, dude,
right now, in my opinion, it's up for grabs. I
don't have a best player in the world right now
because it's up for grabs. I don't want to be
a victim of the moment, even though Yoka just busting
ass right now and he's just kicking the hell out
(26:23):
of everybody. But I would like to see it for
another two seasons and you know, didn't get to another
finals or something like that. I'm not gonna judge it
off of one year, but after Jimmy Butler also too.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
God just always runs out of gas.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
I think about the bubble and the famous pitch of
him laying over the barricade because he's he's given.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
It us all.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
Last year in the Eastern Conference finals, he takes the
three even though there's an open lane for him to drive,
and he said, I don't know if I had enough
for overtime, so I went for the three. And even
in these games, he just looks like he's dragging down
the stretch. Maybe he needs to get with Lebron and say,
Lebron's only spending a million dollars on his body for
the last thirteen years with no inflation. I want to
(27:02):
know how he's doing that also too, I think I
have an idea, but that's another idea for another show.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
But I just think it's time maybe to just put
a bow on the second round. Jimmy the you know,
playoff chick, and he's had some great moments, guys, he's
had some great moments. But at the end of the day,
when you get to the pinnacle of your profession, you
got to cash in. When all the chips are on
the table and all that, and the dice is being
rolled and all the money's put down and nobody's holding anymore.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
It's all or nothing. You got to be able to
cash in. And he gets beaten five on Monday night. Okay,
where do they reset? Youar these rumors of dame might
want to go there. If you get a player like that,
then you're not the guy anymore. You're number two. Now
if they if anybody comes in and you go down
to number two, then maybe you were never a number one.
So I think it's time to put this greatness of
(27:49):
Jimmy Butler to bed, because even when it's not, I.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Think it's time to get him some help. Well, here
here's the thing about that.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
And I thought about that watching the game last night
when they showed pat Riley and Zoe and Bob mcadoos
sitting off to the side. They've had money, and it
is an attractive destination, no state tax, South Beach, Floort Lauderdale,
Coconut Grove, Miami, the ladies, the restaurants, the sun, the weather.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Miami has everything.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
But I keep trying to figure out, then, why aren't
they landing the big fish free agents? Their name's always mentioned, Oh,
they could go there, or this person might can go there,
or they could get this guy name me. The last
big free agent they've gone after and got it was Lebron.
The last big free agent they've gone after and got
(28:41):
was Lebron. So I'm trying to figure out what is
happening here that you can't get the top free agents,
or at least the top two or three every summer
to come to you. And we keep talking about how
much money Miami has to spend and how much room
they have. No wonder, you got to keep working with
undrafted guys. You can't land a big fish. That's that's
(29:04):
that's telling, And I don't I don't have the answer.
I just proposed that question out the basketball fans and
even maybe some people, and maybe we asked Martin Medina
later on, like, hey, bro, why can't Miami get the
big the big free agent guy, and it's it's I mean,
it's been about ten years, right since all these names.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Every summer margin he coming up and nobody goes there.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Now, what challenge is, when is the last time the
major free agent signing impacted a championship?
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Not a trade?
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Dur I think would be the answer for that, right, Well, well,
and again you said there was Lebron. Who was the
last like that that he got was Lebron?
Speaker 2 (29:43):
But I'm saying, but it's been a minute since.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
It's how many championships has it been since Kevin Durant
decided he wanted to sign with the Warriors? And I mean,
and obviously those championships, the one immediately afterwards is still
impacted by that decision of the the season prior for
him to sign. But since then, we've seen, uh, you know,
Kyrie and cad I got two spots. I got two
spots in Brooklyn and then in Brooklyn kind of you know,
(30:07):
they didn't get all the way there.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Like generally, I think, like James Harden has been a
free and that's what said.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
We've seen We've seen a few different situations in which
these guys who have been free agents have moved to
other places and have not had success.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Well, but that's the point I'm making.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
Why haven't they gone down to Miami to play for
pat Riley's been involved? I think the number of what
is it twenty five?
Speaker 2 (30:30):
I believe it's twenty.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
I think it's twenty one, twenty one percent. I don't
know exactly. I think it's number twenty one percent of
the NBA fight.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
Like, the point I'm making is all this lore right
twenty pat Riley in the heat once again? Everything I
named that you can get in the state of Florida.
Why Why aren't free agents flocking to want to go
and play for Eric Sposchow, who was voted a top
fifteen coach of all time, pat Riley, who's running the
front office, who's been involved with twenty five NBA finals
(31:01):
in his life.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Why can't you go there?
Speaker 5 (31:03):
So to say, to your point of they got to
get Jimmy some help, I think they've tried, and I'm
and I think it's a very valid question.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Why are they failing?
Speaker 5 (31:12):
Why How is Kyle Lowry at thirty seven years old,
like your best pickup and you are your best move
that you Kevin Love who can only take charges and
hit open threes.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
He's your trade deadline move, like seriously, guys, And he
was d n P the last three games the last
think some of his d MP had to do with me.
He did get hurt in that series. He tightened his
he had a tight back.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Yeah, I think that has love. I think that has
something to do.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I think had his back not been injured, because remember
he came out I want to say it was Game
three against Boston started the game only played like five minutes.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
So I think that had.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
More to do with him not being on the court
than than you know ability, because I mean, dude, do
you think they were looking for reasons to.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Play Cody Zeller? You know?
Speaker 5 (32:00):
And see, Okay, but once again, there we go, that's
your backup. You can't even lure a backup center to
come play for this fame Miami franchise that has all
this available free agent money under the cap to get it.
You'll see the same thing this summer. There'll be players
available and it's like, okay, he signed where he signed
with them. He signed with them, and no one's flocking
(32:22):
to go play for Aris Bostra and for Po Raley.
So once again to your point of they got to
get Jimmy some help. How how do they get Jimmy
some help? Because they've had opportunities to get Jimmy some
help in thirty seven Kyle Lowry and old Kevin Love
is what you've brought in, Like, I mean, those are
just the facts. I just think it's fascinating from the
(32:44):
standpoint of why are people going to Miami, Like this
is crazy? They got money, You got Jimmy, you got Bam,
you got Tyler Herroll, you gotta shoot her, you got
Dunky run like, you got pieces. Man, Like you just said,
you add somebody to that. Dame Lillard put out the list,
He's put the teams out there. Miami's on the list.
The Miami Heater on Dame Lillard's list. Let's see if
he ends up there, and it's got to be through
(33:05):
a trade, I get it. But let's see if Dame
Lillard ends up there, right, and he's on the list.
Miami's always on guys list. Man, they just just don't
end up there. So I don't think they can get
help from Jimmy, to be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
I mean, it's just tough when the other superstar on
the team has shot you know, I mean twenty for
fifty one outside of the restricted area. So unless it's
a dunk, you know, we're looking at like thirty five percent.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
That's not great.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Martin and VJ brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive.
Oh dude, here we go. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.
Get a multi policy disc on by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,
ATV and more, all your protection at one place. Bundle
and save at Progressive dot Com. VJ just alluded to it.
Damian Lillard might be on the move. We got a
whole bunch of older I should say, point guards who
(33:51):
seem to be like they'll be using the Tirack dot
Com studio to move out soon. So we'll get to that.
Coming up next, Martin and VJ. Fox Sports Radio. Martin
and VJ coming to you live from the tire Rack
dot Com Studios.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Hey, Chris, what the hell is this song? I had
to find my mic for a second. It's mister Dobbelina.
That's his way of saying, stopped playing it.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
We can we like, I know, mister Bob Olina, mister Bob,
don't quit, But can.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
We quit hearing it, all right, all right, we'll move
it out. I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
I just I Actually I actually had to google this
the other day after last Saturday.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
I googled, like, what the hell? Who sings this? What
is it? Have ever heard it?
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Like?
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Dell's pretty cool, though, I'll find some other Dell music.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
That's all good, all right, man, all right now speaking
of something that's got to go, Chris Paul out of Phoenix.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
I'm sorry, transition, no, no, no, you made it for the bridge.
All right.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
So Chris Paul, you know, new owner in Phoenix and
apparently a new attitude, new head coach. Frank Vogel and
Chris Paul reported. I always love it when we have this,
when we have dueling insider reports. You have one reporting
that Chris Haynes, I mean, I think Chris Hanes Chris
Paul waved, and then you have Shams and Wold saying
wait a minute, not quite waved. They might stretch, they
(35:06):
might figure it out, they might trade him whatever it is.
I don't you know, I think the chances that Chris
Paul is in the Phoenix Sun uniform under his current
contract seem to be getting less and less by the minute, NBJ.
You might not have seen this because it happened about
twenty minutes ago. I saw it come across the timeline.
The Golden State Warriors could be interested in one Christopher Paul,
(35:26):
which I just wondered, have they seen Chris Paul play lately?
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Yeah? Man, who this is?
Speaker 5 (35:32):
And this is back to my point with Denver being
able to make it right here. Look how much flux
is happening in the Western Conference, Like, where's Kyrie gonna
end up?
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Now?
Speaker 5 (35:41):
You got Chris Paul's name out there, Dame Lild's names
out there. People don't think that the ad should be
extended by the Lakers. We can go for three year
extension this year. There's just so much flux out there.
But who's in the market for thirty seven, thirty eight
year old point guard who can't stay healthy and the
tactics that he used to play by, you know, the
little cheap stuff that Chris Paul does that people on
one admit that he does that's gotten them kind of
(36:02):
through some of the years in his career, just don't.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Work anymore, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (36:06):
The pulling on guys or the dribbling and stopping in
front of guys and letting them run into you and
getting these cheap fouls and flopping. It's just not It
hasn't been working for him over the last two to
three years. And when he had the opportunity to finally
get to a finals, had the stage, had to lead
in the series, let Giannis and the Bucks come back
and beat them and send them home. And then ever
since then, it's just been it's been downhill. So I'll
(36:28):
be honest with you, I have zero interest in.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Where he goes.
Speaker 5 (36:31):
I could care lesson where he goes because he's not
going to play a full season. He'll play about forty
five to fifty games, he'll get hurt again, and that'll
just kind of be the and in. It's sad because
he's had a great career. If I'm Chris Paul, I
probably if you haven't done well with your money at
this point, with some of the late contracts he's gotten
his career, all right, that's on you, bro, But I
think there should be enough for Chris to say, you
(36:51):
know what, I'm top ten assayst top ten steals.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
You know, I didn't get the championship, but I got
a couple of gold medals. You know, I have all
the accolades that you can have as an NBA player,
point Guard Awards and All Stars and All NBA and
stuff like that. Maybe it's just it's just time to
move on and probably go into a front office because
he was part of the the union before and stuff,
so maybe he's a front office guy from this point forward.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
No, he's just coming off the bench. That's really the
only thing.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
God do you I mean, Okay, we watch Kyle Lowry
play thirty minutes in the finals game and was generally effective, Like,
and Chris Paul's better than him.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
You know, I'm sorry, but like the idea.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Of Chris Paul being your number one, a number one
King of the Hill, those are gone, right, those have
been gone. But the idea that Chris Paul can't come in,
especially in a scenario in which all right, maybe he starts,
maybe he comes off the bench and plays in the
fourth quarter like a la Kyle Lowry come in and
runs like somebody second unit. Dude, there's a The value's
(37:51):
gotta be there now. You want to pay them forty
million dollars a year? Yeah, that's something different entirely, and
not only that I just mentioned. He's gonna he's only
gonna play forty five fifty games. So your second unit
leader coming off the bench is gonna miss half the
season anyway.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
That's but that's fine. He's a backup point guard. Like
you're telling me that.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
If tys j Tias Jones does exist, but like, like, uh,
Memphis couldn't use Chris Paul coming off the bench, Like
like I'm sorry, Like Toronto right there, they're thinking about
moving onf Fred Lamblet. You think that Chris Paul can't
give that team twenty five minutes a night, I absolutely do.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
Yeah, but I don't think the twenty five minutes a
night would be will be super effective.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Twenty five minutes.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Well, we sit here and we watch in the postseason, right,
we talk about you watch.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
You just gotta go watch. How many guys can you play?
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Phoenix had a scenario in which they only had four
guys they could play.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Right, you look at Miami.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
They end up playing seven or eight guys, in part
because they have a similar level of talent across the board. Right,
Their floor and ceiling are really much closer than most
of the other NBA.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
Tam Michael George no, but you know what I'm saying,
it's not the look. You're ducking low clearance.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Okay, So but if you're if you're the Knicks, for example,
Jalen Brunson is there, obviously he's gonna be the guy
you want handling the ball the primary the primary amount
of time.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
And you have quickly coming up the bench who.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Quickly probably could be a starter and a lot on
a lot of teams will be a better starter and
not a less ball handler. But Chris Ball there, I
could see that working. It's just to throw him into
the trash heap is a bit much.
Speaker 5 (39:29):
I'm not throwing him into the trash heap, but if
you okay, so let's go with the nick idea. Okay,
So he's backing up Jalen Brunson, but it doesn't mean
a damn thing.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
If he's hurt in March, April and May.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
But the part of the reason he gets hurt is
because he's playing thirty five minutes a night starting.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
No, I think the problem why he's getting hurts a lot,
especially late, is because of his body.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
He's just getting old.
Speaker 3 (39:47):
So let's lose, let's use it less and play less
minutes that's how you that's how you make an account
for that.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
The NFL could take notes on that too.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Whenever you want to sign a running back to a
second contract, you probably draft one.
Speaker 5 (39:56):
Yeah, real quick though, man back to the Heat, does,
Troy Miller tweeted us not having Hero is a major
chiller for the Heat.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
We haven't talked.
Speaker 5 (40:04):
About that is that if Hero was playing to one
of our faithful listeners here, Troy Miller, if Hero's playing,
is this a different series?
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Mark?
Speaker 3 (40:12):
We haven't really kind of you know, tapped in on
Hero this whole series. It depends if he's well enough
to come up and be the second star that bam
Adebayo's not. Then Yes, come Martin and VJ coming to
you next. We'll have some NFL talk at the top
of the hour. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
We got the hockey.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
Game coming up in just a few moments, Stanley Cup Final.
But let's talk about the NBAS right now. We got
n FSR Fox Sports Radio insider Mark Medina on the
line right now, Mark, Welcome to the show. How is
everything enjoying the day off from watching these games?
Speaker 9 (41:13):
Well, I'm ecstatic now that you got that intro music,
But no, I mean it's it's rare that there's not
a game going on, but I'll take it.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
I know that's right.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
So right now we're sitting here and there's no other
way to have a three one lead beside it being
besides it being commanding. You have a commanding three one
lead with the Denver Nuggets over the Miami Heat. To me,
the biggest difference in this series so far, I think
we haven't seen much out of the role players are
with Jimmy Butler calls teammates right, But like Michael Porter Jr.
(41:45):
Has been up and down, and we've kind of seen
that the stars have been the key. You see two
thirty point triple doubles out of Denver, and to me,
the biggest the biggest difference here is Miami's two stars.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
They can't they can't hang. They can't, they can't hang
with this group.
Speaker 9 (42:01):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's pretty spot on. I mean,
we see Nicole Jokich basically posting triple doubles every single
night and Jamal Murray getting double doubles and look them
out if I was still playing really well. Jimmy Butler,
he's been inefficient, but he's still been aggressive. But the
problem is they don't have the same amount of death
because you know, you look at guys like Max Strus
and Killed Martin, they haven't been hitting shots where in
(42:23):
the Denver Nuggets this case. Even if Michael Porter Junior
isn't doing that either, they still have Aaron Gordon, they
still have Bruce Brown making buckets here here. So it's
clearly a clear separation between the Nuggets and the Heat
stars as well as the Nuggets and Heat role players.
And as a result, I think that Denver line took
poison this one out on James Fiva, Monda, my Man.
Speaker 5 (42:43):
Martin Medina, f Ross, Fox Sports Radio, NBA Insider. Remember guys,
that's where you can get him at Mark g Underscore
Medena Mark, Miami needs to fix this.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
This is overall money.
Speaker 3 (42:53):
I agree with you, but I was talking to Marin
a couple of segments ago, and I'm just trying to
figure out why they can't get guys there, why they
can't actually really build this team. Mark staying is Martinstein
is they need to get Jimmy some help. And I agree,
they do need to get Jimmy some help. But you're
on the inside.
Speaker 5 (43:08):
You taught the players man in GMS and front office people,
it's Miami, it's Florida, it's no.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
State taxes, is pat Rally's heat coulture. Why can't they
get guys that come there that can actually get them
over the top end. What do you think they need
to do to fix this once this thing ends on Monday.
Speaker 9 (43:25):
Well, look, I think it's just really just cap space
that's available, and clearly a lot of that cap space
is to Jimmy Bower and vam Adebayo, and in today's CBA,
you don't really have a lot of money else to
play with to get a quote unquote third star. I
think that to the heats credit, they've been able to
get guys like Kevin Love and Cal Lowry to take
reduced roles, you know, for two guys who are past
(43:46):
their prime but still have a lot of value as
far as veteran experience and leadership and still some productivity.
And then you know they've been able to mine a
lot of undrafted players and get guys to overachieve and
not only reach their pace potential, but it over exceeded.
And so I think here it's one of those things.
Do the heat wind up moving forward thinking, let's package
(44:08):
some of these uh, you know, good parts but not
great parts together to get a star player to compliment
Jimmy Butler and bam Adebay. But I think that there's
always a tough decision to navigate here because you're going
to have to give up some of your depth. It's
going to also require a team to be willing to
give up their star. But I think as far as
(44:29):
the idea that guys don't want to play there, they
certainly do, but it's just about, you know, what they
have available from a cap salary cap perspective.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
Now, Mark Medina, NBA inside you. You just said it,
and I've heard it across the the NBA landscape. Bam
Adebayo has been playing well. But but here's the thing. Though,
he's shooting forty percent from the floor and by my math,
which admittedly mark you may not notice, but my.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
First grade, second grade, third grade, fourth fifth grade teacher.
Speaker 9 (44:57):
All got straight a's.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
No no, no, no no. They all went on maternity when
I was in school. So as a result, I can't add.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
I never cheated on every math test until like sixth grade,
but I counted, I did it. I did the hard
work myself. Bam is twenty for fifty one outside of
the restricted area in the four games in his finals
so far, and in a situation in which you have
the two time MVP guarding you primarily, and it's kind
(45:26):
of the same thing with Sabonis in the first round
with against the King. If they don't have to guard
you at the free throw line and you're wide open
and you're missing shots, are not taking shots? That to me,
that can't that you can't. I just let me let
me phrase it like this. That guy can't be your
two or your star. That guy can't be your number
one guy. He's the only place I've seen it really
(45:48):
work where you can have a guy who's not a
threat to score from fifteen feet out is Golden State
because they have the best shooters of all time surrounding
Draymond Green.
Speaker 9 (45:56):
Am I off on that, well, I think you're analysis
of his game is on point, But the problem is, Look,
his value is on the defensive end and being the
positional versatile player that he is, and so yeah, it
would be ideal if he can expand his game even more,
but that's why they got good role players that can
hit outside shots and hit threes and all that, and
(46:17):
so when we're looking at bam Outabayo's offensive production, it
should be seen ideally that's an added bonus when he's scoring.
His value is defense. But I think it does expose
a bigger point that the Heat need for him to
be an offensive focal point for them to just be
in this series and ideally throughout this regular season. That
(46:38):
has fallen on Jimmy Butler. That has fallen on the
role players, most notably the outside shooters. But that hasn't
happened against the dumber Nuggets team that just seems to
have every single answer for them.
Speaker 2 (46:48):
God forbid, the one lottery pick make some shots ahead.
Speaker 5 (46:51):
Well, well, bam this year also to from the field
for eighty from the free throw line, and like you said,
his values on a defensive, four time All defensive, a
team player, man, So I'll let that race. Let's jump
the two names out there that we have no idea
what's going on, and just tell me if you got
anything on it, man.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Dame Lillard, is he gonna be a Troilblazer next year?
They're gonna move them to New York.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Miami's name is out there and James Harden. Ramona Shelbourne
throws it out there.
Speaker 5 (47:16):
This week she goes out and that quote, I'm not reporting,
but there has been an under whisper understanding that hardened
to the Suns has been something that has been floating
out there in circles for months. And she said those
are her She said, four months you're hearing anything of
possibly getting hardened out the Phoenix And that's why you
move from Chris Paul knowing they got another move to
(47:38):
make there and what's up with my man Dame.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
We got to get Dame back on the court. Him
not playing, it's just not good for the league.
Speaker 9 (47:43):
Mark, Yeah, Well, well, Damian Loward I'd be surprised that
he doesn't end his career with Portland. Joe Cronin has
said time and time again ever since he took over
as an er GM that he had the same thought
process as newel O shak To that they just don't
think they they could ever trade Daming or in the
fact that they've given them extensions, the fact that Damian
Loward is for a best time and time again that
(48:05):
he doesn't want to leave, I think suggest that this
doesn't mean that Damian doesn't want. Obviously the front office
to be aggressive with news, that doesn't necessarily mean that
Portland's not satisfied. But I don't think that they're going
to move forward without Damian Lillard, and so they can
get all these trade offers all they want. I think
that they conclude that they're just better off keeping him.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
Now.
Speaker 9 (48:24):
As far as James Harden, you never rule anything out,
but I think at the end of the day he
stays in Philly. Darryl Mourray has a history with him.
James Harden has a history with Daryl Moury. So even
if there were, you know, frustrations that he had with
the shortcomings and the fact that he wants to be
James Harden. I mean, first of all, they made a
head coaching change partly to play Kate. That too, he
(48:45):
has to look at himself in the mirror because he
did not show up in the playoffs consistently. So you
never rule anything out, but you know, whether it's Phoenix Houston,
I would be actually surprised if that scenario happens. It
doesn't mean it's not going to happen, but I think
at the end of the day, the moving parts will
just settle on. Darryl Moray, who winds up keeping James Harden,
hopes that they can have some success like it in
(49:07):
Houston together.
Speaker 5 (49:08):
Let me piggyback on Dame because you're saying you don't
see them going forward without Damian you can. It's hard
for you to see him playing anywhere else. And I
was on the other side, I'm like, he's got to
be out of there, right, He's throwing a list out there,
He's put it out there, and he used the word hypothetical,
but he put the list out there. Okay, So if
you keep them, they got to do something. They can't
just keep fielding the scene on the court every year.
How do they make some moves to get him another
(49:29):
guy to help them get further his career, at least
get the guy to a damn conference finals again are
possibly a finals.
Speaker 9 (49:36):
Well, look, they got low hanging through with the third
draft picks. I mean, I think that you can include
that in a trade and lead into the draft or
you know, pick you know, any of really anyone to
package them into a trade scenario, whether it's a Scooter
Henderson or Blake Miller, that's going to get a lot
of value. And I think the other thing is Damien's
(49:57):
got to do his parts to stay healthy. I mean,
he has been what he's been on the flour but
ever since his bout of injuries last season, this season,
you know, brought some more challenges there. So I don't
think that they're in a position where their running in
mud like they were before. But it's hard to really
compete in this Western conference.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
Well especially too when you think about the impact of
the new CBA, And obviously we haven't really seen the
first domino of that fall just quite yet, but it
seems to be that is going to be significantly harder
to keep your third banana in this NBA.
Speaker 9 (50:33):
No Medina, Yeah, I mean, that's what I was saying
about Miami, about they need to get someone. They would
love to get a third star, but just contractually, it's
I think the goalposts of shifts it where it's not
a Big three anymore. It's about having a dynamic duo.
And so that's what the confines of all these teams
are operating under.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
Now, maybe this is just a level of expectation, right
but the rumors are coming out. Perhaps maybe the lost
Angelus Lakers do not want to re sign Anthony Davis
to an anti extended period of time right now.
Speaker 2 (51:09):
I saw Anthony Davis.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
I know they got swept, but I saw him put
up forty points once almost thirty again in Game three
against this same Jokics.
Speaker 2 (51:17):
That is a two time MVP.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
I understand we'd consider that up and down, but we
give none of that to bam Ate Bio. He's playing great,
even though he doesn't shoot the ball at all. He's
forty points is a dream for him. Don't worry about that. Well,
I'll just leave that there anyway. What's the difference in
expectation here with Anthony Davis against Jokics and bam Adebayo
against Jokich like, band's been a more war Conference finals,
(51:41):
Bam is on the floor more like. I just mean,
is it just the fact that one play for the
Lakers and nobody cares about the heat or is that it?
Speaker 2 (51:50):
Am I missing something?
Speaker 9 (51:52):
I mean sure, maybe so the Lakers are always going
to get more attention, But I think NBA fans are
evaluating players based on their skill set. Bam Autobio is
a guy that was known as a defensive player first,
and he had an limited offensive role when he first
started out, and he slowly but surely expanded with Anthony Davis.
He always had the complete package from the jump, and
(52:15):
so that's why he's evaluated as such. And so you know,
the Lakers reluctance perhaps of extending him, I don't think
it has anything to do with misgivings about his play.
I think it's just more about wanting to keep flexibility
and also knowing that they don't have to make this
decision right now. He has two years left on his contract,
and I know that he has a player option next season.
(52:36):
But you know, I think that they do have some
value in keeping flexibility.
Speaker 5 (52:43):
Excuse me, Mark Medina, Fox Sports Radio, NBA insider man
and also with guys can reach them more on Twitter.
Margie on the Medina Without get into too much of
a personal side, I know you've seen and everybody seeing it.
If you're the New Orleans Pelicans front office, you can't
be half be about the stuff that's come out about
Zion and his personal choosings of a late especially with
(53:06):
the guy not being able to play. I was on
here two months ago, three months ago, where I said
I just questioned whether the guy wasn't. I didn't know
any of this other stuff was going on. But sometimes
you could just look at a guy and you can
just tell, hey, man, do you really want a player
or not? Or were you just trying to get to
this level to get this money, which is guarantee set
yourself up financially for the rest of your life. And hey,
if it works, it works, and if it doesn't, it doesn't.
(53:26):
Everybody doesn't want to be the greatest ever. Everybody doesn't
want to win championships. You know that you covered a game,
you're in locker room. I know you can name guys
and I'm not asking you to, but I know you
can name guys off the top of your head that
you go watch shoot around or you go watch practice
and you're like, yeah, this guy's here because he's getting paid.
He's not really looking to be great or be a champion.
But if you're in a Pelican's front office, Mark, you
can't be happy about any of this stuff.
Speaker 10 (53:46):
Correct, Yeah, you can't.
Speaker 9 (53:48):
Be happy because of the attention. But as far as
how an organization responds to that, look like whether you've
find what he did inappropriate or not, Like that's his
private life. So yeah, no doubt. The Pelicans are always
monitoring and any NBA team, they're always evaluating how players
are performing on the floor, what their work habits are,
(54:09):
are their things that in their life that are affecting
their performance or availability. But when it comes to the
specific things that we're talking about, and you know, for
an organization to get involved with that with grown adults,
like that's you know, that's like any employer, right, they
don't get involved with those things. So obviously it's different
(54:29):
for athletes and you know in social media age, but
there is still a definitive line that organizations don't get
them don't get themselves involved.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
With Yeah, all you got to do is just google,
I've surd Mariah Mills is still tweeting about all of
the things that went down apparently, but Mark Medena, I
won't subject you to any more of that conversation, and
we won't subject the listeners any more of it either.
Thank you for joining us on this off day. Hopefully,
hopefully Jimmy Butler and bam Adebayo can put on an
(55:00):
performance like you do every week so we can have
some more basketball to watch after Monday night.
Speaker 9 (55:05):
I appreciate it. Rooting for a game seven.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
Martin and VJ at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
Why is everyone in the league running away from this position?
Speaker 2 (55:15):
We'll have that next Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Martin and BJ comes to your line from the tiraq
dot Com studios. Now, this is something that I feel
like I just might have to make this my personal crusade.
Dalvincook is top ten and every rushing stat that matters,
every stat for running back that matters at the moment,
persona non grata in Minnesota. Apparently teams all across the
(55:42):
board are trying to pick him up. I just don't
understand the devaluation of the running back. I get it,
you don't maybe don't want to sign it to the
biggest salary cap hold like you know, do cowboys, but
like at a certain point, there has to be a
middle ground. You still need a good running back. At
a certain point, there has to be some balance. And
(56:04):
I don't understand how we can't come to some level
of balance in Minnesota. For Dalvin Cook to remain there,
it is mind boggling to me. But he's on the move,
and I know you're excited about it.
Speaker 5 (56:15):
I'm super excited about it because y'all already know where
he's gonna end up.
Speaker 2 (56:18):
He's already down there.
Speaker 5 (56:19):
He was seen in Fort Lauderdale hanging out him and
Jalen Ramsey or former teammates of at Florida State University.
As right now, just quick update, Vegas already on the
board with the goal. Just that fast bad turnover by
Florida in their own end and there's just a.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
Free break, one on nothing and goal for Vegas. Stevenson
with the goal.
Speaker 5 (56:39):
But Dalvin Cook, you talk about being top ten in
every category, He's almost top five in every category since
twenty eighteen. He's second in all purpose shards only behind
Derrick Henry. I mean, you're talking about a guy that's
averaging almost five yards of carry in his career. He's
been the four Pro balls, and his idea that he's old,
he's twenty seven years old. What the hell are people
(57:01):
talking about. He hadn't even been in the league that long.
And I just think that this is the deal from
everything I'm hearing and from everything that people are talking about,
the deal for the if the Dolphins won them, the
deal's right there. All Chris Greer has to do is
make him a respectable, reasonable deal. And I've already drawn
the deal up. You give him a two year, fully
(57:22):
guaranteed deal GMVJ. You give him a fully guaranteed two
year deal. It's not three, it's not four. If you
give him a three year deal, then you make the
third year team option. But just give him two years.
Speaker 3 (57:33):
Give him twenty guaranteed million, ten million each year.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
Put him in this system for two years.
Speaker 5 (57:38):
Let Mike McDaniel work his magic with all this other speed.
He's the second best screen running back in football, behind
one Christian McCaffrey. I think we all can agree with that.
A Christian McCaffrey. He's the best screen running back in football.
Darvin Cook is right there behind him. You look at
some of these plays. This guy's how you talking about
explose enough. Here's his longest touchdown, his top six longest
touchdown on rushes eighty one nine and he won sixty six,
(58:01):
seventy five and seventy twice. Like the guy breaks plays open.
He's a total game breaker. This is a Miami Dolphin deal.
And the only two teams that I'm hearing that are
really really like upfront eight want to we want to
are them in the Broncos. He's not going to Denver
and deal with that and with that mess that's out there.
Miami's home, he's from South Florida. He'll get to play
(58:21):
his brother twice that's up in Buffalo. I think he
ends up as a Dolphin. I'm just waiting for it
to come across the board. It's just like I said,
all Greer has to do is make him a two year,
guaranteed twenty million dollar deal ten million each year. They
have the money, a freedom when they release Barron Jones
in June. First, you have the money. This is an
easy deal. Don't go in low balling this guy, and
(58:44):
don't go in with no stupid deal because he will
go take the most money somewhere else. Give him the
ten mil per year man and say, look, here's two
years you'll get you. You're a free agent at thirty
or twenty nine. You're a free agent again at twenty
nine as a running back in the NFL. But here's
twenty million dollars that we have for you, Bill Done
and that. But that's what I just don't fundamentally understand,
Neil Done. What does minutes like Madison? I get it.
(59:06):
I understand, like I know that he's there, Madison. Okay,
But the blueprint is out.
Speaker 3 (59:13):
You need two running backs, maybe three, right, but at
least two, yes, yes, at minimal you're gonna need two
guys to consistently handle the rock. If you have Christian McCaffrey,
you better have Elijah Mitchell, absolutely right. If you have
Alvin Kamara, you better have mark Ingram ye all right,
Like it's just when you have these guys who are
(59:35):
gonna be running backs, who are like that's the thing.
You can have running backs be a major part of
a dynamic offense. You just also should have somebody that
can carry the ball fifteen times.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
A game twenty But I'm just no, no, no, I'm not
I feel but.
Speaker 3 (59:48):
If you have your backup, who is able to go
between the tackles, you know, for you know, third and one,
the Saints weren't giving the ball to Kamara that we're
going in mark Ingram tell him come on here, come
get one yard, Come get this hard one yard.
Speaker 5 (01:00:03):
This is gonna be tough because the Dallas is doing
with Zeke getting down to the goal line.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
Tape Paula, Okay, so there you go, there you go.
I saw. It's just it's just hard for me to
understand why.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
But again with Dallas, and that's probably the point number
one of why would you sign a running back to
the second contract?
Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Well, why would they run in Zeke like he was
twenty one? Do you know what I'm like?
Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
Why are you like you have to have like the
NBA has figured this out for whatever, if you like
it or not. I'm not the biggest fan of load management,
but you look at the Miami Heat, guys like Kyle
Lowry who's thirty five, thirty six years old, Jimmy Butler
thirty three years old.
Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
They're playing big minutes in the finals in part because
they managed the minutes in the beginning.
Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
I'm not saying that load manager it should be a
major part of your football strategy. However, when you have
a dynamic guy carrying the rock, it maybe, just maybe
would be advantageous to hold on to him and find
somebody else.
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
To do the dirty work.
Speaker 5 (01:01:02):
Yeah, and this is a guy that you need. This
is like I said, he's a twenty seven year running back.
He's not even touching thirty yet you bring him in.
He's eighteen nineteen carries a Sunday. The Dolphins already have
a great running back room. Sorry, Gaskins are AMoD. One
of you guys are gonna be the odd guys out.
You had plenty of time to be able to prove
yourself as a starting running back in the NFL. The
(01:01:22):
Dolphins in San Francisco forty nine ers have given the
Moster Wilson Junior. All these guys have had the opportunity
to prove they can be the bell cow. You can
make a team better, You always make a team better.
But football one on one and just to touch your
point real fast. As far as why are we going
away for running back?
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
Copycat sports, copycat league, spread offense RPO. Everybody wants to
keep doing the same thing.
Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
But if you go look at the successful teams, or
go look at the teams. Where were the Eagles ranked
the rushing the football last year? Ladies and gentlemen, boys
and girls, just go back and just keep looking at
the rushing stats, even though you have Pat Mahomes and
slinging it around and.
Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
All this backyard stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:01:58):
They Pachenko became the writing back in like what week seven,
Week eight and took off. Andy Reed still knows. You
have to turn and hand the ball to the running back.
Football one on one, run the football, stop the run,
don't commit stupid penalties, don't commit stupid turnovers. You'll win
sixty seven percent of your football games. Get him in Florida,
please for the Dolphins in its own.
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
She got this tweet from Deep Attune at Husky E
and t as Zion Williams had been hanging out with
Martin Wison over the last few years. Needs to get
his ladies in the line falling off him like trying
to stay healthy.
Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
No, I'll tell you this right now. No friend of mine,
No friend of mine.
Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
If doing a gender reveal or baby shower, not wearing
a Birdberry shirt and tims all right, we they were
losing recipes. As Michael Rviy would say, we are losing recipes,
Zion Williamson. That was the first mistake. And I'll tell
you that domino fumble. That Domino feller continued to crumble.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Now think about it. Let me tell me.
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
Come on, bro, for the at least the last thirty years,
in a Tam Burdberry shirt with some Tims.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
At jo at Joe, uh at Joe.
Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Whatever, your pre birth of your child event, whether it's
a baby shower, whether it's the gender review.
Speaker 5 (01:03:10):
Come on, who's advising him? I know he's young, but
that's a son. He hasn't grown.
Speaker 11 (01:03:16):
Telling you what to do up yet. Where's your Burberry
grown up? Where's your Tims? Come on, brother? You got
that big old faring with firework with fight. Did y'all
see the fireworks? And it's like, Bro, I'm telling you.
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
That's something that's well known throughout the black community.
Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
If you have a child Brier to thirty five, you
better have on your Burbary shirt and your tim your Tims.
Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Baby.
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
All right, I'm sorry, Steve Di Seger will let you
know everything that's going on in the world of sports.
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
We got action in this hockey game, Steve, what's going on?
Speaker 8 (01:03:46):
Vegas scores a minute thirty nine into this game. Hey,
they're Game four the Stanley Cup Final underway and the
one seeds Vegas up one nothing early at Florida. Golden
Knights lead the series two games to one, and Game
five will be in Vegas two day. Neither franchise has
ever won the Cup NBA Finals. Game five isn't until
Monday night. The Toronto Raptors new head coach will be
(01:04:07):
Darko Rajakovich from the Grizzlies. He was an assistant in
the league for nine years with OKC and Phoenix as well.
Number one Egas. Fiontek won the French Open. She's from Poland.
She's been in four career Grand Slam finals and as
four and oh She won the.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
US Open last year.
Speaker 8 (01:04:22):
Horse Racing's Belmont Stake, won by Arcangelo.
Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
The favorite forourte finished second. UFC two to eighty nine.
Speaker 8 (01:04:28):
Tonight, including champion Amanda Node is against Arana Aldona fill
an opponent in Vancouver. Sunday Nascars on Fox TV from
Sonoma's Road Course, the last race of the year on
Fox Tomorrow three thirty pm Eastern Time. Rory McElroy is
tied for second at the Canadian Open to Major League Baseball,
we have four late games. Houston Astros lead five to
three at Cleveland in the bottom of the eighth inning
(01:04:51):
on Fox TV for much of the country. Yankees have
taken a one nothing lead on the Red Sox in
the bottom of the fourth, Cubs lead to nothing at
San Francisco top of the fifth, and we're still an
hour and a half away from the late game Mariners
at Angels. Among the earlier contests, Arizona one again five
nothing at Detroit. Tigers have lost eight in a row.
Dodgers were nine to nothing winners at Philadelphia. Philly had
(01:05:14):
won six in a row. The lost to Aaron Nola.
Miami of five to one victory at the White Sox
with five runs in the top of the ninth, and
the Marlins. Luisa RaaS went two for four. He's batting
four to oh two this season. Road wins for Cincinnati, Minnesota,
and San Diego, which won three to two at Colorado.
Rockies have lost six straight. Nets had lost seven in
(01:05:34):
a row, but got a victory at Pittsburgh five to one.
Wins for Baltimore Atlanta at seventh straight. Texas beat Tampa
Bay eight to four. Tampa Bay had won seven in
a row and Oakland in ten innings, a three to
one winner at Milwaukee. So the A's record on the
road now nine and twenty six.
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
Back to you. There you go, Oakland.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
Thanks Steve Martin Ivide, coming to you live from the
tyreck dot com studios. Speaking of Oakland last week, we
would be mate beating them up. They had twelve wins
at the time, and I was, and and we know
we normally talked to Demarjay Moore's MLB Bro Content report
about an hour from now six thirty at the bottom
of the hour, go are all around baseball, And at
the time I asked them, was like, hey man, you
know the Tigers. The Tigers have been out. They've been
(01:06:15):
okay since then since I said that, all they've done
is lost.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
All they've done is lost. That's it. Since I done
is lost. And the worst offensive team in baseball by
a long margin. It's just well, thanks a lot, al
lavilla left. You left the coboard stocked. You got Miguel
Cabrera forty years old, hitting seventh. It's sad to watch.
It's oh my goodness, did you watch it? Did you
watch the Tigers?
Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
Game last night.
Speaker 12 (01:06:43):
By chance, I caught a little bit of it. But
there was a moment where I'm just like, I can't
do this anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
I know about it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
I'm torturing myself. I know about four people listening to
me care about this. But just one moment, how many
dog going outs Hobby Baya is gonna run into?
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
How many more than whatever it is right now? I mean, lord,
have Mercy retweeted one of his swings at a pitch
for you?
Speaker 12 (01:07:07):
I forgot to tell do you remember when he like
forgot how many outs there were?
Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
Something? I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
The other is incredible bowl cocaines, a hell of a drugs.
Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
Like you say something like that, I don't want to
be hold on it. No, it's incredible. Listen, it's incredible.
And I'm sitting there, I'm listening to the radio and
Dan Dickers and Dan Diggerson, God blessed.
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
One of the best voices in like baseball radio right
now and a good man. I know him personally.
Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
He's like Hobby's around second, you can hear him say,
and he's trying for third, gunned down by the tarb
and he tries to what a.
Speaker 5 (01:07:39):
Throw by the like no, and you guys thought that
the Tigers would lose one hundred games this year. I
remember before the season started, you both thought the Tigers
would lose one hundred games.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
There there were. They were hovering around five hundred last week.
Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
Don't count them out from it yet. I'm about to
say that hovercraft ran out of gas. Partner, you guys
think they'll still, you know, get close to a hundred
hundred losses this year. Look, I just know they're going
to be They're going to be terrible, whether whether it's
one hundred, whether it's ninety.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
Whether it's eighty five. At that point, the number doesn't matter.
They're just bad. It's going to think and it's just watching.
And you know what.
Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
The other thing they keep hitting him second, they were
a few Miguel Cabrera one of the best hitters in
the history of baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
I get it. He's forty years old, he's I mean,
the prime. He can't move.
Speaker 3 (01:08:24):
I get that, But you know what, Hovey Baias can
And I watched those swings and I'm just like dog.
Maybe Cabrera could draw a walk or two, right, I mean, gollye.
Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
I can't help himself. He's got he's got a swing,
he's got to swing the stick.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
He's got some of the worst swings and misses in
the league. And then when God forbid, he gets on base.
And then it's just you know, Lord, if you remember,
that's when the adventure begins.
Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
I mean, I mean, it's just I mean, I know,
I just hijacked it.
Speaker 12 (01:08:57):
We shoose your own adventure book in like eight the
eight of the nine turned to page whatever is just resulting?
Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
You have died? I mean, who are they? We're playing it?
Speaker 6 (01:09:06):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Last, it was a good team that and look it's
one one.
Speaker 3 (01:09:11):
The team hits a home run in the first top
of the first inning, Tigers come hobby by as double
gets thrown out a second. You know what the next
hit was, Spencer torgel Si double. Score should have been
one to one. You can't do that when you're a
terrible baseball team.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
You gotta get them when you can. April the d
never ended.
Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
Hey fans, all all listeners out there, you ever want
to get Martin going talk Tigers or talk New Orleans Saints,
you get a whole different Martin Weiss, and it's pure,
like it's coming out of his pores.
Speaker 2 (01:09:39):
It's coming from its veins.
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Because you should see this guy right now talking about
the idea.
Speaker 12 (01:09:45):
Because he's because he's seen the Tigers at their height,
Like like ten years ago, man had.
Speaker 3 (01:09:50):
I walked into covering baseball with the starting rotation of
Justin Berlander, Max shirts Or, Drew Smiley, Andy Boll Sanchez
before the national stint and dub fist that team should
have Rick Porcello sometimes too, right, Rick Porcello was in
the bullpen. Future Cy Young winner. Rick Porcello was in
the bullpen still to this day, pitched the shortest Major
(01:10:12):
league baseball game I've ever seen, including with the pitchclock.
Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
Two, but the thirty s places to go that night,
Oh my goodness know what I'm talking about. It was
groundball at the ground up it. I was like, this
is incredible.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
I was so glad I wasn't working that day because
I was like, how are they going to make up
to three and a half hours that they normally scheduled
for the baseball game.
Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
But this thing's over in an hour and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
But to watch that, Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera hitting
third and fourth, Tory Hunter leading later Ian Kinsler like
they were throwing money everywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (01:10:40):
J D.
Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
Martinez currently crushing baseball, Austin Jackson leading off, I mean,
and then I got to sit there and watch Brad
Austmin refuse to use his bullpen against Baltimore in twenty fifteen,
which essentially ended the Tigers. Brad Ausmin's essentially ended the Tigers.
Tiger and then you got Dave don Browse over there.
I mean, Dave Doan Brownski had we had something great going,
(01:11:04):
and now now this once proud franchise, it's sitting here
looking at Hobby Baias swing at miss at balls that
would be past balls. Hobby Bayas swings at errors.
Speaker 5 (01:11:18):
As I said, if you guys ever want to get
Mark going, Detroit Tigers are the them good old New Orleans.
Even though I think he's gonna be fine with the
New Orleans Saints. He don't believe it now, but I
think I think he'll be Okay.
Speaker 12 (01:11:30):
No, we're gonna Derek carr is gonna take us on adventures.
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
Tony Soprano, my, what are we doing? I mean, go late.
He's terrible, and.
Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
It was I guess with the Cubs it was different
because it was surrounded with like swar bur And and
Chris Bryant and all these other but and I used
to love his game.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
I was like, oh, he's flashy's fun.
Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Goodness gracious watching them every day the top of your
lineup is, I mean, baseball's all this one hundred shi
to do game James.
Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Guys like this takes a day off my life. Every
time I watch this. It's one hundred and sixty two
days a year.
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
You lose, Hume Bro to think about it, the span
of two years that's over, So that's almost a whole year.
That's like, you know, say Lebron is playing an entire career,
I'm the entire season of postseason games.
Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
I've lost the whole year of my life over Hobby Bye.
Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
Is a Tiger's contract. Wow, that's not good goodness, Christian stop.
You probably should stop watching Tigers games. I'm pretty sure
your family and your lady and everybody they.
Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
Put you stop watching Dolphins games. Yeah, but I don't
do you.
Speaker 5 (01:12:34):
But the Dolphins aren't nearly as bad as the Tigers
have been.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 5 (01:12:39):
Dolphins have flirted some years of some bad We had
one one in fifteen year on the cam Cameron. They
got Jake Long in the draft number one pick, what
they probably should have taken Matt Ryan. But Bill Parcells
said he made a very good point. You could draft
a quarterback, but if you don't have anybody to protect
the guy, you're gonna get him killed.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
And we didn't have anybody.
Speaker 12 (01:12:57):
I'm just saying, when when the man's team's going through
a rough spot, yeah, well they're not.
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
Gonna give up. I don't give up on my teams
at all. You kidding me.
Speaker 5 (01:13:04):
My teams have been my team since the early eighties.
All my teams. I don't jump around. I stick with
my squads. But I haven't had any team maybe my
Pistons lately. Any of my teams I cheerfore have been
as bad as the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
I love the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
I met Rob Parker in Comerica Park in the press box, like,
the Tigers were a huge part of my sports career,
and now just to see.
Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Them just scuttle, just scuttle. One of the oldest problem.
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
I mean, cow, it's absolutely terrible what we're sitting here
watching and you know what, you know what you want
to think, Oh maybe they call somebody up.
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
No, no, no, Toledo, desolate, empty.
Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
There's nobody who playing for the butt heads who deserves
to be able to be on the big like I mean,
it's one thing. You know, the Reds Ellie de la Cruz,
they called him up, Hunter Green called him up last year.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
You know what, none of that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
The Reds were the laughing stock of the other league
two three years ago and now they're just restocking.
Speaker 12 (01:13:56):
And that's impressive because they've been doing this for a while.
So they should have like some top draft pick down there.
But no, at nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
At least you could go up there and you see
your shortstop Elliot of the Cruz. He might just rip
something out of home for hundred greed throws one hundred
and fifteen miles an hour.
Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
No, Tiger's none of that, VJ. What you got?
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Well, with all that being said, coming up next on
Uncle Vjy's Corner, there's a new queen of the circle.
I'll let you all know who is currently wearing the
tr right now. All that and more coming up on
Martin VJ Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
Martin VJ coming to.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Your life from the Tireck dot Com studios, And without
further ado, it's time for Uncle Vj's corner.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
All right, everybody get her a rush. It's that time
of the week.
Speaker 5 (01:14:41):
Oh man, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
That time of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:14:43):
I'm telling you all, man.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Yes, it's time for everyone's favorite uncle.
Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
And you add the cherry on the top.
Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
It's time for Uncle Vjy's corner.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
Yeah, their.
Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
As always, Man, welcome in Uncle Vjy's corn And I
am Uncle VJA, the big Vanilla Funny over here chilling
as always on a cloudy, overcast LA day. Y'all know
where I'm at, man, over here on Vanilla Drive in
handsOn Boulevard. Y'all come over here and have a seat,
because I got a special treat for you guys today.
Speaker 5 (01:15:14):
This young lady that is gonna get the Vanilla Sister
of the Week awards. She doesn't have a lot of history,
but that don't matter because trusts me, she's gonna be
making a lot of it in her career. Let's start
by when she was born in July thirty back in
two thousand and three, I told y'all she was like
young Buckeroo Bucker Ruiss that would be in Tapeka, Kansas.
(01:15:35):
She also went to Topeka High School, where she started
lettered in basketball and softball.
Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
Check this out.
Speaker 5 (01:15:40):
As a freshman in basketball, twenty point six points, ten
point six boards and let her team to a twenty
two or three records. She followed that up her sophomore
year with eighteen point eight points, ten point two points.
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
Twenty three and oh they probably was gonna win it all,
but it got canceled due to COVID.
Speaker 3 (01:15:57):
They hit in March, and they canceled all the high
school sports across the nation.
Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
Nobody got to play in their playoffs that year. Her
junior year, she was a league best twenty point six.
She uped those boards to twelve point three, went twenty
two and three, and they and they ended up being
in second place in the six to A championship. She
didn't have a senior year playing basketball because she went.
Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
To focus on softball and softball.
Speaker 5 (01:16:20):
Her junior year, all she did was go out listen
to TV's numbers, Ladies and Gentlemen. Twenty one in zero
is a starting pitcher era zero point two six, two
hundred and thirty two k's in just eight hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
And seven and a half innings. Are you kidding me?
Speaker 5 (01:16:36):
She also betted for seventy eight thirteen diggers forty nine RBIs.
Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
My goodness, gracious.
Speaker 5 (01:16:43):
She had sixteen k's in three straight games in the
state tournament that year, helping her team win the first
ever state championship six to eight division for Topeka High
School in Kansas. In that tournament that following year, she'll
be clowns six hits with the er of zero zero zero.
(01:17:05):
She is the two time Kansas Player of the Year
by Gator Ray. She is the two times six A
state championship and six A State MVP for the tournament.
Her senior year, she went thirteen and one, just a
modest record there, a eer of zero point eighty four
with one hundred and sixty three ks in just seventy
four and two thirds of a any oh yeah, well,
(01:17:27):
she picked up that bat and stepped to the plate
nothing but just a minuscule five thirty battan average with
seven home runs and forty two rbix. She decided to
take her talents to Stanford, Yes, Stanford University. That means
that she ain't just got lady Brown, and she's not
just beautiful. She got some brains too, because this made
one of them pass them through the athletes type schools
(01:17:49):
you go to Stanford, you gotta do the damn class
work in order to get onto the field. Seventeen and
three is a true freshman in twenty four starts two
of the losses of the three to one against Oklahoma,
who just happened to just three p in the Women's
College World Series. They have five out of the last
eight championships, nine of them since two thousand. Nice job
(01:18:11):
miss Patty Gasko's doing there in Oklahoma. But she led
the nation in eera and zero point five to seven
in case per inning x eleven point three. Think about that, guys,
case per seven innings eleven point three.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
That's crazy, man.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
She was thirty hits allowed at three three point three
two with two hundred and eighteen k's and one hundred
and thirty five inners. She allowed one home run all
year two no nos okay, and when she struck out
eighteen batters in both of them. The record is nineteen
by Missipinya, the second woman Stanford pitcher to have multiple
(01:18:45):
no notes since Teagan Garhart. Y'all remember that last name Gerhart. Yeah,
that's Toby Gerhart's sister.
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Pack all twelve, Pack twelve.
Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
Excuse me, all Freshman First Team and National Freshmen of
the Year.
Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
I watched her pitch a couple of games this year
at Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
But Oklahoma is just they They're They're, They're, they're, they're,
They're the cream.
Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
And the crop. Right now. That that's pat Summit, Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
That's Gino. That's Geno where Yukon. As far as women
college sports.
Speaker 5 (01:19:09):
Go, missus Najorie Kennedy, my sister broy She's only nineteen
years old.
Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Guys, you guys better keep an eye female.
Speaker 5 (01:19:17):
Athletes and so don't get to lose school or at
least school early. She's gonna win some national championships to
stand for my young sister. You are the vanilla sister
of the week week week. She got that cannedy stomped
to when she strike people out, She's got this this stomping.
Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
She flexes.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
It's funny how they let the women Martin show emotion,
but the guys they want to throw them out again,
he's rig they want to throw them at a games.
Those are unwritten rules. My biggest thing is always we
should write these down. Probably, Yeah, let's get on the
same page.
Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
That's good again.
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Who's the sexiest team in the NFL coming up next.
She got Bucky Brooks's take Martin and v Jay Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:20:01):

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:20:28):
It's a good time right now to be from the
three to oh five Miami Florida in the NBA Finals,
in the Stanley Cup Final. And according to one Bucky Brooks,
the man who takes this seat right before we do,
sitting in the chair of them, I'm sitting in right now.
He says, Oh, I forgot Lionel MESSI shocked that he
(01:20:49):
joined enter Miami's absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
I can't wait till they come out here to play.
I'm sure I'm definitely going to watch them. That's a
a big football situations.
Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
There you go, You got that going in play as
well for Miami potentially.
Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
These are things that I have heard of. I am not
super familiar with.
Speaker 3 (01:21:07):
I apologize, I am not familiar with the your soccer game,
to paraphrase Charles Barkley.
Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
However, I know this. It's a big old deal that
they thinking about going to Miami. Yeah, entered Miami bucker.
Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
Bucky Brooks says is summer twenty twenty three rings season
in South Florida with the Heat and Panthers simultaneously fine
for championships in the NBA Finals the Stanley Cup Final, respectively.
Miami is currently the sports capital of America, and he
posits that the sexiest team currently stated in the NFL
(01:21:41):
when I'm necessarily talking about looks, although the head coach,
you know, in terms of how head coaches look not
the worst is the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
Come on, man, yeah, I know what it is and listen.
And Bucky's a smart guy.
Speaker 5 (01:21:52):
He does a lot of stuff for the NFL and
the draft and training camp and all that stuff. Former
NFL player defensive back of him and I bump heads
on cj oh Yeahank you absolutely him and harmon him
and I bump has a lot of TJ. Stroud and
Bryce Young, and I got that one up on him,
and me and him were gonna go back and forth
about Bryce Young be why all year long.
Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
But he's a.
Speaker 5 (01:22:12):
Smart guy, so he was smart to say this because
we are the sexiest team in the NFL. Now that
I mean, I don't want to, you know, bang with
it that hard because normally the sexiest team doesn't win
it all. So I don't want to be too sexy,
you know what I'm saying. Like it's like I don't
want to be too sexy that I'm getting Zion type women.
I just want to be sexy enough that I'm getting
(01:22:34):
some quality type women that may be closer to I
might not be shopping over in with the ladies, but
I'm in this area right here. That's kind of where
I want the Dolphins to be. I like, condy things
are going under the table. I love the fact that
Mike McDaniel, when he was asked about Dalvin Cook, he
gave his birthday.
Speaker 2 (01:22:49):
And of course stupid people are just saying I wasn't
born yesterday. Guys. Come on, the guy's not even been
released yet.
Speaker 5 (01:22:55):
You're not gonna get me to talk about Tampa ring,
You're not gonna get me to talk about a guy.
Speaker 2 (01:22:58):
I think people that's a lot of it intelligence.
Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
People also heard that it said, that's a really odd
way to go ahead to say I wasn't born yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Yeah, I think that was the takeaway that I had
it lost. Okay, that's fine. I heard different I heard
different takeways.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
I heard that one, but I heard the other one
a whole lot more like what do you mean by oh?
Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:23:14):
Then then the light bulb thing went on. But when
you talk about when you talk about Vic Dangie, when
you talk about Vic Vangiel puzzle bringing in Jalen Ramsey,
Vic also had Chubb. Bradley Chubb is a player nobody
is talking about that the Dolphins have brought in. Jalen
Phillips was the number one recruit coming out of high school,
(01:23:36):
and not for his injuries when he was when he
was first in college and had to stop playing and
then was able to get his body and get clear
to come back. He still ended up being a first
round draft pick. And people think this is a fourteen
to fifteen SAT guy.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
There are some.
Speaker 5 (01:23:50):
Gms that are saying he this is a defensive player
of the Year candidate type of rush in that's going
to be opposite with Wilkins in the middle. Dolphins have
talked about getting that deal done and getting that extention done,
which they should. Connor Williams, the center, wants to hold
out a mini camp and stuff like that. All right, buddy,
go ahead, but we got some other things we gotta
take care of. Your Worn't that great of a center.
Speaker 2 (01:24:09):
To begin with. Let's just be real. But of course
man and then of course Toua and Waddle, just the
names around this team. And once again, if we signed
when not if when we signed Dalvin Cook. Yes, we
are the sexiest team. Plus is Miami, man, So you
gotta be sexy in Miami. You ever been to Miami
before you was sex? You haven't? You have? You haven't
(01:24:32):
I have been? Oh you have been? Okay? Yeah been?
You fell sexy when he was there, didn't you?
Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
I got the best I got one of the best
compliments I've ever gotten while you.
Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
Was in South Beach? You felt sexy? Did this? Girl said?
Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
I had nice feet first and last time I've ever
been told And I had nice feet, And you know
what that means.
Speaker 2 (01:24:48):
I took it with me. You know, I don't know
anything about it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
I know South Beach approximately August fourth, twenty nineteen.
Speaker 5 (01:24:57):
You know what that means, though, If she tell you
had nice feed, bro, that means she looked you up
and down, she looked you from head to toe. There's
no one to look No woman look at no feet first,
No nobody look at no feet for even a guy.
When a woman's got cute toes and qute feet, you've
checked everything else out. The feet just take you by surprise,
because most feet are ugly, even when you got him done,
(01:25:19):
most feet aren't cute. But if she told you had
nice feet, bro, and you remember that compliment, see what
that's the type of town Miami is. You ain't never
hear that in New Orleans or Detroit or Dubai. You've
been to Dubai. Can you even have your feet out there?
I don't know, I don't know, but you have your feet,
beautiful feet. I mean, hey, br But like I said, listen,
(01:25:43):
the sexiest team. But I will push back a little
bit because normally that that sexy label is normally that
the team that does well or wins. Remember when Vince
Young called the Eagles the dream team because they had
signed uh Nandi ausin Wan. They had brought him into
some other key guys and ended up going under five
hundred that year. So I kind of I kind of
just temper. But yeah, we're the sexiest team in the league.
Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
Man, the sexiest fans, got the sexiest cheerleaders, everything.
Speaker 5 (01:26:10):
It don't Mike McDaniel seem like he's a cool, handsome,
sexy dude hanging out at the heat games and stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:26:15):
Cool. No, you don't think he's You don't think his
quirkiness is cool? Absolutely? Do you know what makes Michael
McDaniel cool. He's a millionaire. That's what makes Michael McDaniel cool.
Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
That that's when it goes from being uh uh, that
makes it quirky and not just you know, this dude's
a weird though.
Speaker 5 (01:26:32):
Nah, he's he's he's not a weird I'm not I'm
not saying.
Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
I'm not saying.
Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
And you know what, we also we also have to
do a little bit better with this because like we
use weird though as like a catch all for like
guys who do a lot of creepy stuff, and like
really like there's actual league words for that.
Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
I say weird like ha.
Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
Not you know, like like funny weird, not like not weird,
and like, hey, I don't want him around my family
or anything of that name. We use weird definitions for weird. Yeah,
we use weird for that lot, and we shouldn't that.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
I have my my definition weird as a negative one.
Speaker 3 (01:27:04):
Here, there's there's there's, there's there are rules, you know
what I'm saying, Like, there's there's laws, jen like all
I thought, Oh, yeah, he's a weird, though it's just
because he breaks laws regularly with you know, around the
other I don't think that Mike McDaniel, I don't think
that's what. I think he's weird, like quirky, weird, Like
he's got his own personality and it is just different
than other people. And that that that's kind of what
makes you weird. All that Gucci and I think Vasachi? Now,
(01:27:27):
now do you are you able to rock Gucci and
Tom Ford?
Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Do you think that?
Speaker 1 (01:27:30):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:27:30):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
The walk I think I've.
Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
Read an article about Michael McDade who said he was
the walk in who never walked out. Yeah, do you
think when he walked in he was wearing Gucci and Rasachi?
Speaker 5 (01:27:40):
Because I don't think so, I said, in an interview
and he said it, and they said, I guess whoever
he's talking to. The said, you look it, good man,
you're you know, you're dressing this and they're they're touching
this jacket and stuff. He goes, guys, I'm making a
little money now. And I think that like a head
coach now. And I think, don't get me wrong, I
think Michael McDaniel.
Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
While I do question his ability to call games, Okay,
I do question that. I wonder about that just in
terms of his posts, his podium right his post game,
I think that he's kind of a breath of fresh
air because the thing that I think we all overlook
because we spend so much time watching football, diagramming football,
(01:28:20):
breaking down football, and it's a thing that in general,
unless you played it or study it with intensity, there's
a lot of intricacies in which you will not understand. However,
it is not difficult, right, you just have to learn it.
It's something that's hard, not difficult, right. Calculus is difficult,
(01:28:41):
you know what I'm saying. That's that's difficult for football
is just hard, right. Once you learn that, you know
it though, and football is not as hard as some
people make and that's kind of what I think is
the end up. Like I think that so you see
Michael mc daniel, he's a smarter guy, and he's not
afraid to be a smarter guy.
Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
Part of the reason why you end up seeing.
Speaker 3 (01:28:57):
That is because a non insignificant on the NFL coaches
really are like gym teachers who have graduated, right, you know,
it's like and I don't and I don't begrudge that.
I don't take that away from anything. I don't try
to knock that, but like simply because Michael McDaniel might
watch like all the Best Picture nominees, like I don't
(01:29:19):
know how like revolutionary that is, you know what I'm saying,
You know what I mean, Like I think that has
something that like I don't know, I don't know, he
doesn't I enjoy as somebody who watches thirty different postgame
press conferences every Sunday and Monday, every I enjoy.
Speaker 2 (01:29:38):
I enjoy the mix up, right, I enjoy the mix
up between that's.
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
A really good team over there, you know, you know,
we just have to control our controllables.
Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
And I enjoy the mix up. I enjoy with you.
Speaker 5 (01:29:48):
Not only that he's he's been around and we talked
about this with Michael Malone on the NBA side. This
guy's been around football. He's not new to this. And
the tree he comes under goes back years and years
and years and years. And the guy that he started
under is a two time winning Super Bowl champion who
pretty much gave us the zone read offense and was
(01:30:11):
taken running back after running back Mike Anderson, Orlandis, Gary Clinton, Ports,
Terrell Davis, all those guys fifteen hundred yard backs in
this zone read system that people said, oh no, they
might not work in the NFL. Or da da da
da da, Yes, I agree with you. I would like
to see some of his late game calling improve this year.
(01:30:32):
But that's what happens when you get a chance to
keep your position as a head coach and you get
to grow and you get the same players and the
front office add some weapons for you. You get some
guys signed, guys, stay healthy, guys, show up, guys trained hard,
guys work out. It's a complete year job the NFL,
and the reason why I love football so much, high school,
college and pro. It's three sixty five. There's no such
(01:30:55):
thing as the offseason because it's such a physical game.
It's such a thinking game. It's such an inches game.
I mean, it's an inches game. That's why sometimes they
got to bring the chains out, ladies and gentlemen and
measure in the critical point of the game when they
need a first down and you don't think they got it.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
We're glued to the team.
Speaker 5 (01:31:10):
The players are looking over the referee shoulder to see
how far that chain is going to reach out. They
had to put an index card, you guys, remember when
they ate. The referee had to put the index card
in between the chain and the ball to see if
it was touching, to see if it was the first down.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
That's how close football comes.
Speaker 5 (01:31:25):
So when you got a guy like Mike McDaniel that
is very detail oriented, that does break everything down, he
put a camera on too his helmet. Of course you're gonna,
oh my god, why do they do that? The katua
cannot reacin that. No, he goes this is technology, guys.
We just want to see what he's looking at. Why
if you could do this with any quarterback. We're just
designed to do our quarterback and they've done it with
(01:31:46):
other quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
But we want to hear what he's saying in a huddle.
We want to hear his control.
Speaker 5 (01:31:50):
We want to hear his command of the huddle and
the way he he say two days later, he has
complete control of this team. He has complete control of
the huddle. He has complete command and respect from all
all his teammates from one to fifty.
Speaker 2 (01:32:03):
Three right now.
Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
That's because when you bring in the coach like Mike McDaniel,
you trust in your quarterback. You tell him to your face.
Remember the video when he's on a private jet when
he got the job. He's flying in there.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
My job is to make you the best that you
can be.
Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
Something that Florence never did. All right, But then I
also watched him throw the ball. I mean, all right,
you want the best that he could be.
Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
I did it. I did the man.
Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
There was one to three four times this in the
last season. Now they made the players to play eighteen
games in which he ran the ball, Mike McDaniel from
the Shanahan tree, from Kyle Shanahan's tree. He ran the
ball over twenty five times. And there's one he ran
it exactly twenty five. So five games they ran the
(01:32:45):
all over twenty times compared to six different times they
throw the ball over forty times a game, and I
can't get out of my head two moments with Mike McDaniel, the.
Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
Tua Herbert bow in which Tua was three for seventeen
in the first and he did not help him one bit.
Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
Mike McDaniel is a coach, did not help him one
bit in terms of easier completions anything like that. Get
the ball to your playmakers in space. Hell, how many
times did you see Patrick Mahomes just passed the ball
like a chess pass to Tyreek Hill on the jet
sweep to get a few yards. Get your guy, like
That's one thing I have major concerned about. And then
the last game of the season, A two is not
(01:33:26):
there because he's had a thirty concussion. He's still the
same guy. He still got those concussions. I know if
he's not feeling the impacts of them at this moment. However,
they're there, they exist, and there's something you have to
be concerned about going forward. Skyler Thompson rookie seventh rounder
through forty three passes or something like that in a
wildcard game, like in a game that realistically Miami could
(01:33:50):
have won had they managed it better. And that's the thing.
I can't get it out of my head with Mike McDaniel.
As fun as this press conferences is and as fun
as wants to dance around the birthday and all of that,
that's something that gives me a big concern quarterback and coach.
Speaker 2 (01:34:05):
I will agree with you.
Speaker 5 (01:34:07):
I'm not gonna rebuttle anything you just said because I
thought the same thing. I am running the football type
of guy. And that's why I say this year, I
would like to see him as you're saying, I would
like to see him make those adjustments. But when you
get it, if you if he's consigned a Dalvin Cook,
trust me, it all works out better. And I tell
you this, in some of those games last year, I
thought what McDaniel was trying to do was trying to
(01:34:30):
help prove his quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
He was trying to like, like like you said, the
Herbert ball game.
Speaker 5 (01:34:34):
I'm watching that game, I'm there and I'm like, okay, man,
this is you got to run the football too. Is
just not feeling it. But I just thought that he
was trying to, Hey, I'm gonna help you out, buddy.
We're gonna prove these guys wrong. We're gonna and that
was a mistake that he made as a rookie coach.
That's why you grow from experience.
Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
I think they'll be better at this year, but have
no I have no rebuttal as to what you said.
Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Your hundred percent right Barney VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
Brought to you by Discover at the end of your
first year to discovered credit cards automatically double all the
cash back you've earned. That's right, everything you've earned double. Seriously,
check terms, see terms and check it out for yourself.
At discover dot Com slash Match, we talked about the
unwritten rules of baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:35:15):
In a moment, I want to break one.
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
Coming up next, if this thing is still in play,
Martin VJ. Fox Sports Radio Martin and VJ comeing to
you live from the tire Rack dot Com Studios, Vegas
and Florida. In the start of the second period, seventeen
minutes left in that one.
Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
In the second period, there the Red Sox.
Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
And the Yankees on tap. Right now, the thing I
always wanted to bring up. Kyle Hendrix has a no
hitter through seven. This is the top of the eighth
right now, Cubs for Giants zero and you just jinxed
it good because I bet on the Giants.
Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
But that's what I wanted to do.
Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
We I don't think that saying a guy has had
no hit up until this point in time is Jinx's like,
I get it. If you're on the floor. I mean,
if you're on the field, rather you're out there, you're
a member of the cups, you going, hey, hey, Kyle,
guess what, you haven't given up a hit yet?
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
Did you notice? I could get that part of.
Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
The Japartscott's hear you, What the hell am I doing
over here talking about Kyle Hendrick. You know, Kyle Hendricks
hasn't allowed a base runner outside of the one walk
he's giving up in seven innings.
Speaker 5 (01:36:20):
That's sports gods in the universe, hear you. That's the problem.
No one's supposed to say anything about it, not just
the guys on the field. You see it happening. I'm
a firm belief I won't even mention I'll see it
and go out. Are you in the comment to The
commentators have to say it because they're commentating the game.
Speaker 2 (01:36:36):
But I think.
Speaker 3 (01:36:36):
Anybody else in the round with watching the game that
speaks it and mentiones it.
Speaker 2 (01:36:40):
You blow it. And watch he will not get he
will not get the no hit.
Speaker 5 (01:36:44):
The Sam Fran will get a hit and crack this
baby and crack this baby open man, just because you
just because you just mentioned It's almost like when they go, yeah,
he's made thirty two consecutive freak, don't worry about that.
Say that after he's made the two, and then go
and with that second free throw that gives him a
thirty four straight free thro throw made streak.
Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
Don't say when he steps to the line you're cursing it. Well,
good luck.
Speaker 3 (01:37:05):
Kyle Hendricks, I hope you can withstand the vexing text age.
Speaker 2 (01:37:10):
It's such a hater man jumped us some tweets. Man,
we were talking about the heat culture.
Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
I threw this question out today and VSX Digital Sports Network.
He hit me up on ear and said at E
and T he said, that is true.
Speaker 5 (01:37:25):
Hashtag heat culture not being able to get good free agents.
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
It is something to discuss. And then one of our.
Speaker 3 (01:37:33):
Faithful, faithful listeners, I want to make sure I pronounce
this brother's name a Alon.
Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
He's gotten another like an electric boat.
Speaker 5 (01:37:40):
And Alon also said that pat Riley the problem is
pat Riley does not crumble it's to come to today's
type of athletes who want to run the show and people.
You know, that's why they can't get those type of players.
So that leads me to one to ask you, is
it pat Riley toughness, his old schoolness Martin art? Is
(01:38:03):
that where we are now where you really just can't
even be tough anymore with NBA players because of so
much power they have of not either coming to you
or going to the front office and getting the coach fired.
Speaker 2 (01:38:17):
Is that really where we are across the board?
Speaker 9 (01:38:19):
Well?
Speaker 3 (01:38:20):
I think, well, first no, I don't think that's exactly
where we are. Player empowerment as a as a word,
right as a verb. I think it's overrated, right, I
think it's incredibly overrated because like if Malcolm Brogden said
he wanted to trade from Boston, guess what you know.
I don't think Danny Brad Stevens is over there losing
(01:38:43):
sleep about it, you.
Speaker 2 (01:38:44):
Know what I mean? Like that's something you figure it out.
Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
But now if you're Lebron, if you're Kevin Durant, if
you're one of these guys who are current Hall of
Famers walking the earth right now, you know what I'm
saying walking the court right now, you're okay, yeah, maybe
we're gonna take you into account a little bit more, right,
because you're generally the main thing of what we got
going on here. But if anything, to me, the Miami
(01:39:08):
he should be applauded at this point because you have
gotten to a point in three of the last four
seasons where you have competed against all the the top
you know, number one, the.
Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
Top down and the top. You've been right there.
Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
To me, what Miami has done, and I think this
is why they'll be continue to have a level of success.
And I kind of am secretly rooting for them because
I want them. I want this to be rewarded. I
want the strategy to be rewarded, the narrative to change.
Speaker 2 (01:39:38):
Well, I just want the strategy to be narrative.
Speaker 3 (01:39:41):
Well, the idea of we have all these undrafted players, well,
you know, here's the thing. Everybody gets draft picks at
the start of the season. You can do whatever you
choose to do with them, right, whether you draft a guy,
you trade a guy, whatever your trade for. Muse them
as as ammunition to go get other players. Well, the
Miami Heat have used it like they have found a way,
(01:40:03):
whatever it is that they're identifying and Gabe Vincent and
Max Strus and Duncan Robinson that allows them to play
major roles as role players in big moments. Think about that, like,
think about we're talking about these other teams that have
you know, who is the third guy to step up
on Milwaukee, for example, who's the third guy to step
(01:40:26):
up in New York?
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
Who's the third guy.
Speaker 5 (01:40:29):
The New York It would be like a brook or
holiday those guys, right, But look at the bread they're making.
Speaker 2 (01:40:38):
Yeah, okay, okay, look at the.
Speaker 3 (01:40:40):
Money they make. Who's the guy you wants? Who's the
guy you want to step up?
Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
In Denver?
Speaker 3 (01:40:45):
Michael Porter Jr. He makes the max? Yeah right, he
makes the max?
Speaker 2 (01:40:51):
Last night? Did you the Miami Heat have had this thing?
Speaker 3 (01:40:56):
I think it's a little bit over blowing whatever they
have had and a roster spot essentially locked.
Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
Up for twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
They are playing with one less roster spot than everybody
else by their own choice, but one less roster spot
than everybody else because they keep highest them on the team.
Speaker 5 (01:41:14):
It doesn't help, though, when y're these unseen that the
undrafted thing, it sounds cool and it's good when it's working.
But last night a combined one for ten for those
for those who go Vincent and Strauss.
Speaker 2 (01:41:24):
And okay, look what he do. That's what I'm saying.
If you're gonna get you're not gonna get four.
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
You're not gonna get that crazy level of production out
of your third banana. So what Miami has done, we
got a whole bunch of dudes who can be the
third banana. Duncan Robinson first three get he had sixteen
fourth quarter points.
Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
You know what I'm saying. Like, you know, it's like,
we'll find.
Speaker 3 (01:41:46):
A whole bunch of dudes who can play in this moment,
whether or not they were the number one pick, because
you know what, we're not gonna pick number one because
we gonna be in the playoffs. That's what I like
about Miami. They have found a way to continue to
reload and while they have not been rewarded right with
the title. That's that's the thing that I see. And
I just wish that their stars were a little more
(01:42:07):
starry and we could get that done. But Steve de
Sager's got everything going on in the world of sports
right now. We have de Marjay Morris MLB bro Content
reporter on after that, but first, Steve, they.
Speaker 8 (01:42:18):
Are going to the bottom of the eighth inning. At
San Francisco, the Cubs are shutting out the Giants for
nothing because there's a no hit bid by Kyle Hendrick.
Seven scoreless innings. If only I had that power. Eighty
one pitch is thrown so far. He has three strikeouts
and one walk. Among the earlier games Oakland, when it's
fourth in a row, they're up to sixteen and fifty
(01:42:38):
on the season. A ten inning as win at Milwaukee
three to one. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh lost at home five to
one to a Mets team that had dropped seven in
a row, so the Pirates offense going three for thirty one,
but Pittsburgh is still tied for first with the Brewers
in the NL Central. Dodgers were nine to nothing winners
at Philadelphia, but the Diamondbacks won again five nothing at
(01:42:59):
a Tree.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Tigers have lost eight in a row.
Speaker 8 (01:43:02):
Diamondbacks first place in the NL West, still two and
a half games ahead of the Dodgers. Road wins for Minnesota, Cincinnati,
and Miami, which scored five times in the top of
the ninth for a five to one win at the
White Sox. Luis Aria's two more hits. He's betting four
oh two. San Diego at three to two winner at Colorado.
Rockies have dropped six in a row Baltimore and Atlanta
(01:43:22):
with wins. Braves have won seventh straight Texas an eight
to four winner at Tampa Bay, ending the Ray's seven
game win streak. Corey Seeger of the Rangers five for
five a homer four RBIs He's betting three point fifty two.
Houston ends a four game losing streak with a six
to four win at Cleveland. Most of the country is
seeing on Fox TV the Yankees leading two to one
(01:43:43):
over Boston, bottom of the seventh The late game and
a half an hour will have the Angels hosting the
Mariners Stanley Cup Final continuing in Florida. Right now, second period,
Vegas still up one nothing thanks to the early goal.
Golden Knights leading the series at the moment two games
to one one. NBA Finals Game five isn't until Monday night.
The Toronto Raptors new head coach will be Darko Rajahkovic
(01:44:06):
from the Grizzlies. He was an assistant in the league
for nine years with OKC and Phoenix as well. Number
one Egas Fiontek won the French Open. She just turned
twenty two. Siontek is the youngest woman with four Grand
Slam titles since Serena Williams was twenty years old about
twenty years ago. Horse Racing's Belmont Stakes won by Arcangelo,
trained by Jenna Antonucci, first female trainer to win a
(01:44:29):
Triple Crown race. Sunday, NASCAR's on Fox TV from Sonoma's
Road Course.
Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
Last race of the year on Fox.
Speaker 8 (01:44:36):
Right now on FS one, the Xfinity Race has Eric
Almarola in the lead past the halfway point and Kyle
Larson has fallen to third place. Updating no hit, Big
Cubs up four nothing at San Francisco Games in the
bottom of the eighth inning and a couple outs Wow,
back to you.
Speaker 3 (01:44:56):
Thanks Steve, me and you trying our beetht I suppose
to get Kyle Hendricks out of this no hitter thus
far said he's got going.
Speaker 8 (01:45:04):
But actually, your point. People talk about this all the time.
Your point is the point. If you're on the field
or around the guy in the in the dugout, absolutely
it means something. If he can't hear you honestly, everybody else,
how old?
Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
What are we doing here?
Speaker 3 (01:45:18):
Without further ado, let's bring an MLB bro content report
of the Marjay Moores, I like this, this is better.
Speaker 2 (01:45:26):
We're getting the same one. It sounds better today. It
sounds better. You know what.
Speaker 5 (01:45:35):
It's the same song last week, it sounds better now
this week.
Speaker 2 (01:45:38):
He's like, I like that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
It's perfect for you, bro. It's growing on me. It's
growing on me, demarj I gotta get your take right now,
going live, Kyle hendricks no hitter through seven and two
thirds right now, the two to one count with two
outs now, because I just said this, is this a
big Jakes now, Steve the Sager just said it.
Speaker 2 (01:45:58):
Are you gonna go ahead and say that he's got
no hitter going?
Speaker 3 (01:46:00):
Are you going to follow this unwritten rule for the
sport that we're not playing right now?
Speaker 4 (01:46:05):
Hey, if he has it going, he has it going,
you got you gotta acknowledge it.
Speaker 10 (01:46:08):
But a shout out to Kyle hendricks Man, that'd be
good for him. I hope he could pull it off.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Yeah, he's right now, he's I think ninety pitches in,
so we'll see how that goes. But you had something
you wanted to talk about John Singleton. He was a
heralded prospect, got released in twenty fifteen, just got called up.
Speaker 2 (01:46:26):
Let's talk about it.
Speaker 4 (01:46:28):
Yeah, amazing story, man, a story of redemption.
Speaker 6 (01:46:31):
What we all love.
Speaker 4 (01:46:32):
Eighth round draft pick.
Speaker 9 (01:46:33):
I'll run through it, just real quick.
Speaker 4 (01:46:35):
Eight round draft pick two thousand and nine tested positive
for marijuana twenty twelve. Another positive test twenty thirteen, fifty
games suspension signed with the Ashos. First extension ever signed
by a player with no MLB experience.
Speaker 9 (01:46:49):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:46:49):
That just showed the potential talent that he had or
that he has. January twenty eighteen, so that was a
third drug test suspended, one hundred games released by the Ashos.
Twenty twenty signs the Mexican.
Speaker 10 (01:47:00):
League with the Diablos ro Hosts at Mexico.
Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
Signed in that league. Then he signed a minor league
deal with the Brewers in twenty twenty one, and now
he's here in the league back today with the Brewers.
So shout out to John Singleton, man, great story and
wishing nothing but success.
Speaker 2 (01:47:14):
That is a dope story too.
Speaker 12 (01:47:15):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:47:15):
Demarjay Moore's MLB bro content reporter. All right, my man,
I'm gonna hold off all my Rangers right now. But
I want you, but I know you already got one
in your Power five rookies because many people think he
should be in Seattle for the All Star Game.
Speaker 2 (01:47:28):
But I'm gonna let you.
Speaker 5 (01:47:29):
Go ahead and give everybody the name. And I'm not
gonna take no thunder from you, my man, Delmarja.
Speaker 2 (01:47:33):
Load us up, baby.
Speaker 5 (01:47:35):
All the baseball fans out there listening your power five
rookies so far.
Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
In the twenty twenty three Major League Baseball season, hit us.
Speaker 4 (01:47:43):
My power five rookie is no particular order, and these
are guys I just enjoy watching. They're putting up good
numbers as well, but I just enjoy watching these guys.
I think they're fun and exciting. I got Corbyn Carroll
coming in number one. I think you overtakes James Outman
as National League.
Speaker 10 (01:47:55):
Rookie of the Year leader right now. Your boy Josh Jung.
I love what he's doing Texas. He's legit, great bat,
bright future for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:48:05):
I can't wait to see what this guy does in
the future. Jury Perez, I like Gary Perez from the Marlins.
I think he's going to be legit. I'm putting him
in the top five, mainly off of potential what I
think he's gonna become. He has a great Sandi al
Kintar mentor in him, so I like what Yury and
he's only twenty years old.
Speaker 10 (01:48:21):
He's only twenty years old, so he has a lot
of upside, high bright future. So I like Gary Perez.
Speaker 4 (01:48:26):
I got to have James Oppman in there, coming in
at number four.
Speaker 10 (01:48:29):
I know the Dodgers are number two in.
Speaker 4 (01:48:31):
The in that division, behind the Diamondbacks, but they're still
right there. He's been a main contributor for that team
since he's since he got.
Speaker 10 (01:48:37):
Caught into the lineup.
Speaker 4 (01:48:38):
And then TODs Bradley. I got to show some love
to another picture, TODs Bradley from the from the Rays.
I can't imagine the pressure he must feel with what
they're doing this year and him having to, you know,
just come in and be productive, especially before they got
Glassno back.
Speaker 10 (01:48:51):
But I mean, I know that he's back, so.
Speaker 4 (01:48:53):
That should releave a little pressure from him.
Speaker 10 (01:48:54):
But yeah, TODs Bradley's legit. I like him.
Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
Hold on one quick second before I go back tomorrow.
Here did I be this? Did I miss young from
the Rain? Did I miss did you say his name?
Speaker 10 (01:49:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:49:06):
Okay, okay, my bad, My bad, bro. I was about
about to hang up on you.
Speaker 10 (01:49:10):
No, I'm not gonna do like that.
Speaker 4 (01:49:11):
Come on, man, I think I can't go back now.
Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
Tell that boy pay attention when you're talking tomorrows day now.
Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
But I gotta I gotta ask you, all right, Ellie
Dela Cruz comes up and baseball's everywhere quivering because that
dude when he hits a baseball. I mean, it's the
true story. I'm not making this up. This is not embellishment.
One of the balls he hit got picked up by
the air traffic control folk right, They saw it as
a UFO in the sky.
Speaker 2 (01:49:38):
That's how guy, that's how this guy is ripping.
Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
The baseball he got him on on the offense side,
Hunter Green and MLB Bro, as we know, uh, you know,
he's been good to start this season right now, and
the NL Central with Pittsburgh atop the NL Central and
the saint and the Cardinals at the bottom. Am I
crazy for thinking the Reds got a shot sixty five
games and so far this season to come out of
(01:50:01):
the Nlcentral at least a wild card.
Speaker 10 (01:50:04):
No, You're not crazy at all.
Speaker 4 (01:50:06):
I love what the Reds got going over there. They
got a good young Cord, got some good ballers Jonathan India.
Speaker 10 (01:50:11):
Spencer Steers.
Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
I love that kid. I love India.
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
You know Deyl Cruz, you got to mention him now.
And they got some Hunter Green, my man Hunter Green
from a MLB.
Speaker 10 (01:50:20):
Bro Hunter Green. So I like what the you know
who they remind me of. They remind me of the
Orioles of last year.
Speaker 4 (01:50:26):
I feel like they'll be able to build off this
and then come into.
Speaker 10 (01:50:30):
Next season and they might be able to do a
little more damage next season. But that's kind of who they.
Speaker 4 (01:50:35):
Remind you of.
Speaker 5 (01:50:36):
Man Demjay Moore's MLB bro dot com content reporter. I
want to go to a team here that's really close
to our great producer Brandy here. We've never talked about
him and asked about him. I actually loved their team
last year. They won a playoff series. They really did
look like they were on the upswing. But I go
through and I looked at the San Diego Padres and
I can't figure them out. If his injuries are they
(01:50:59):
I mean, just what's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
Why the hell are they where they are?
Speaker 5 (01:51:04):
They're leading batan average guys, Finnando Tatis at two sixty six,
give give me something, give Brandon something, or give us
some hope that they can make a run in a
wildcard or something and duplicate what they did last year.
Are they just kind of sinking back to the padres
that we've known of recent history.
Speaker 4 (01:51:21):
You have to think they'll be able to make a
run and get hot at some point. Way too much
talent in that lineup, they're loaded.
Speaker 9 (01:51:27):
They're stuck.
Speaker 4 (01:51:28):
In my opinion, I honestly, I honestly believe guys are
just pressing a little too much. They got off to
that slow start. Guys start putting more pressure on themselves,
pressing too much, trying to do too much.
Speaker 10 (01:51:39):
Is let the game come to you. Guys got enough talent.
Speaker 4 (01:51:41):
Tatisa's got it going, So maybe he could be the
catalyst for the rest of the guys to fall in order,
and maybe we could see.
Speaker 10 (01:51:46):
Them get on a little hot shoot. It'll happened at
some point. Way too talented.
Speaker 3 (01:51:50):
Man in which Tatis like he leads them home runs,
RBIs bad, Nevers like, but you're right, some Juan Soto,
somebody else, somebody else has got to get going, right.
Speaker 1 (01:52:01):
They have to.
Speaker 4 (01:52:02):
They have to, Like you said, you already got Tatis
and leading now you know what I'm saying, So somebody
has to fall behind him and then maybe the rest
of the lineup, kings you know, can get going. So
I don't think I don't think it's over for the Pojas.
Speaker 3 (01:52:13):
This year, you know, DeMars, last week I asked you
about the Detroit Tigers. Literally since I asked that question,
they have not won a game. And uh, I'll just
leave you with this. The fifteen and fifty Oakland Athletics
have scored two hundred and thirty five runs this season.
The twenty six and thirty six Detroit Tigers have scored
two hundred and eighteen runs.
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
This is I mean, this just just might be. It
might come out. I might have been early.
Speaker 3 (01:52:39):
This might be the worst team if Doug DeMars. But anyway, No,
the only any reason, the only thing you need to
duck is if you're if Hobby Baya is just swinging
anywhere near where you're at, That's why you would need
to duck, because that map he might hit you in
the knee, he might hit you in the ear, he
might hit you in the elbow, he might hit you
in the ankle. That boy swings at everything. But thank
you so much, DeMars words. She got much better discipline
(01:53:01):
than hobby buyers whatever have. He's always some time, never
run over, never striking out.
Speaker 2 (01:53:07):
Hey, well know what hobby by is. I'm just what
a roller coaster.
Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
That's like, you're late if you're asking him not to
buryer this guy.
Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
You're late, Bro, You're late. I gid you.
Speaker 10 (01:53:17):
I know.
Speaker 4 (01:53:17):
I see the swings, Bro, I'd be questioning too.
Speaker 10 (01:53:19):
Like, Bro, what are you swinging that?
Speaker 1 (01:53:20):
But I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:53:24):
Yeah, shout out, shout out to him, shout out to
him and that two spot that he will die in, apparently,
because it doesn't matter how many times he swings that
thing and the balls bouncing in the other other bider's box,
it does not matter a j Henches is running him
out into the two hole. Baby, you gotta get a
good contact hit her and your two spot, I suppose. Anyway,
thank you so much for joining us to Marja And wow,
(01:53:47):
look at this Vegas three floored to nothing in the
last three minutes and thirty seconds.
Speaker 2 (01:53:54):
Wow, that is a lot going on right there.
Speaker 3 (01:53:57):
That hockey gave Vegas looks like they might I mean
Florida's enough to turn around.
Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
Quickly before they take a loser commanding.
Speaker 3 (01:54:05):
You know what I say, fall fall to a commanding
three to zero, three to one lead by the Golden Knights.
Speaker 2 (01:54:10):
But we'll be right back with the Progressive player of
the Day Martin and VJ. Fox Sports Radio. That canst forward, swat.
Speaker 4 (01:54:16):

Stevenson scores.
Speaker 1 (01:54:23):
Second of the day for Chandler Stevenson two nothing Golden
Knights once again, Mark Stone the facilitator.
Speaker 3 (01:54:31):

Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
You got to turn it on. What you got a
question for you?
Speaker 5 (01:55:03):
Have you ever, be honest, have you ever did you
ever get in the mode of using the word jiggy
and did you ever do the jiggy dance move if
the song ever came on us at a party or something,
did you ever do it?
Speaker 3 (01:55:14):
A little too young for that, Okay, by the time,
by the time I got to the age of going
to parties, what was getting jiggy with it?
Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
Wasn't my eror were you crunk beginning? Yeah? Yeah, I was.
I was snap music like you were.
Speaker 3 (01:55:28):
Yeah. Yeah, that's that's about where I was at with
you know, lean with it, rock with it.
Speaker 2 (01:55:32):
It's like sixth grade.
Speaker 5 (01:55:33):
Oh wow, you're lean with it, rock withed soldier boy
and all of that.
Speaker 2 (01:55:37):
Huh oh yeah, how about that big swag? Take a look,
what's up all of that? That's okay? Hating now me?
Speaker 3 (01:55:53):
Yeah, look, I'm about to hate right now because quite
I got I got something to hate on.
Speaker 2 (01:55:57):
Not you, Jason had to you just tweeted us this
a he Joel.
Speaker 3 (01:56:01):
All right, the coldest little white dude is your guy,
baby Gronk, who looks legit and hopefully not the next
bos Worth.
Speaker 2 (01:56:07):
Have you guys heard of this baby Gronk? Phenomenon. Unfortunately
I have he's been trending for the last three days.
Speaker 12 (01:56:13):
Look and and and the original social media post is incomprehended,
like that's not the English language.
Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
Well, you know, as as Mariah Mills is shown trending
for three days, can can clearly blast your Q reading
to the highest of heights, as Olivia done. The most
famous NIL athlete, the gymnast from a l s U.
It's taking pictures with this baby gronk rised up. Yeah,
he's rizzed up. Whatever that means, he dude. Yeah, I
don't like that. I don't know what that means.
Speaker 2 (01:56:40):
It makes me feel like when people started saying ask cap.
Speaker 12 (01:56:46):
It means you're getting old, that we're all getting old
at this point, Like I understood, no cap, but rizzed
up is my limit?
Speaker 2 (01:56:51):
Yeah, I understood. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:56:56):
Fleek, it's like flirting, it's like spitting game. Oh I
think it's derived from the word charisma. So they take
the middle part riz actually on that.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
Yeah, you're doing a lot of mental math on that one.
My favorite one for something like that. She was giving
your rhythm, she was giving your rhythm, giving rhythm, giving rhythm,
rhythm rhythm as we see the Florida Panthers score goal, maybe,
just maybe we'll have a good, decent hockey game to
watch later on tonight. But I read this profile about
baby Gromp and his dad. This thing sounds like an
(01:57:31):
abject disaster. All right, This is like what people thought
Lonzo Ball exactly, helicopter. This is degree, this is what
people exact exactly your point because this kid is like
in the eighth grade, all right, and they're talking about
he runs routes like a high schooler. You know who
(01:57:51):
else wus off like high schoolers? High schoolers? You know
what I'm saying, Like, he's not there yet, And how
many times do we have to see this scenario on
which this kid's dad, who abjectly has said, I have
a plan for my son. It's all about social media.
It's like, listen, maybe the kid grows up to be
the next time Brady, but we're not going to have
(01:58:14):
any idea about that until at least.
Speaker 2 (01:58:16):
His eighteenth birthday. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:58:18):
I just saw trendon and I'm not even getting into
any young kid.
Speaker 2 (01:58:23):
And their dad or anybody right now.
Speaker 3 (01:58:25):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
It is what it is.
Speaker 5 (01:58:26):
This is gonna happen if my son Cameron never played sports.
I want to be the dad at the end of
the field, chilling are the corner of the bleachers in
the stands. It's not my time, it's his time. I
have my time to shine. I got as far as
I got. This is his go talk to my son.
Don't put the camera on me that. I'm dead serious.
I've seen it go south, even in my own circle
of life really quick though.
Speaker 3 (01:58:46):
Viper Dante bran brand Donoli says that Hero gives him
and I'm only reading this tweet because I said the
same thing when I see the way Tyler Heroes dressed
as he's sitting on the sideline, and you and I
have a thing about pro players that sit on the
sideline and dressed the way they dress nowadays. But he says,
Hero gives off major eminem vibes. I wonder if it's
on purpose. Excellent tweet by you, sir, And it's simply
(01:59:09):
because first of all, the bucket hat guys like real talk.
That's not for everybody. The bucket hats not for everybody.
And he's been wearing.
Speaker 5 (01:59:17):
This bucket hat with these big jackets. I thought it
was warming me at me with the chains. It just
that's funny as hell because it does feel like Eminem
of the.
Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
White tea fleek. Do you know where?
Speaker 3 (01:59:30):
Uh? Do you know where Tyler Herro is from?
Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
Actually, I don't know, Greenfield, Wisconsin. It's not like you
were talking.
Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
Watch watch a postgame press conference. I don't think the
eminem comparison is far off. Midwestern into hip hop.
Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
I like it a lot. And plus two, he got
suckered into that bucket hat through whatever. Merl, Little Chewy
and Houston, what up, baby. Good luck to the Florida Panthers.
They're gonna need it. Martin and Bjay guys, Fox Sports
Radio
