It's the way tire buying should be. VJ.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
I heard Steve de Segre just list off all those
baseball scores. But you know what, it's football season. We're
one week away from week zero. Navy had notre dame,
the NFL quickly approaching, and now is as good a
time as ever.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
As I look here.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
At CJ Straud seven for twelve sixty yards and three drives.
The Civil War reenactments known as preseason football will soon
be ending, and we will soon be at the spot, VJ.
We will be there. And that beautiful thing you were
just singing, the ll cool J from Wildcats, it's better
than diamond rings. It's football, baby, It's here, it's back.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
It's this sport of king headed and diamond rings.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Football, Wowcats football.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
You remember that a Dog. I'm very surprised that you
remember that movie. I don't remember it. Okay, before I've
seen it, I don't remember it, like I wasn't there
when it was coming out, Like oh okay, yeah no,
that's a classic Goldie Han Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson, woman
coach takes over for inner city football program and they
win the city championship. But yeah, man, it's football season.
(01:27):
I'm excited. We are already talking about week zero as
of next week, Notre Dame and Navy. You and I
was just discussing the twenty and a half, which is crazy,
so you can make some money early, but preseason. Starting
to pick up a lot more starters playing this week.
As for my beloved Miami Dolphins, what you are up
on the screen the Holly's I got a chance to
check out two in the office. No, no, Jalen watt
(01:49):
on some other starters, Cam Smith also rookie second round
guy to South Carolina. I think it's gonna be QB.
Excuse me, c B two the right cornerback when the
season started. So on the first pass either yeah, well
well no, no, no, complete, you're doing an interception.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
They ain't doing an interception.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
It's all good though, And then they come right back
on the field and they drive down ninety nine yards
of sticking it in zone. The players are there. It's
just a bad reading, a bad throw. Its preseason is
gonna happen. These teams just practice together for three straight days.
It's not too much you're gonna bring out today that
you didn't already show during the week. That's what we
see in week two because a lot of these teams
that are playing just finished practicing together.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
So but I was pleased with the following drive.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Please with some of the young players and some of
the other veterans, Chubb and Phillips looks unblockable. I got
a crazy future for their total sack numbers for the
two of them, twenty six between the two of them.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
They both had eight and seven respectively last year.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
I think they each add four or five to those
and Vangio system this year with just Wilkins in the
middle Zegler in the million, our defensive line is a
top five line in the league, and we have might
have the best pass rush duo on the ends in
the entire league. It's yet to be seen, but my
prediction is I like twenty five to twenty six sacks
between the two of those gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Have an early we J sighting talking about the Miami Dolphins.
Let's move into it now the AFC East Aaron Rodgers
a big story in the AFC East. The Dolphins to it,
you know, and will he be able to stay upright?
And then you know you got Buffalo Stefon Diggs reports
the camp or doesn't report the camp.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
I don't know, I would.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Say as Sean McDermott, but he seems confused about it
as well, at least he did a couple months ago.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
He was like, isn't a big deals. It's not a
big deal. Who really knows?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
So if EJ coming out of the AFC's, what are
you expecting to see out of this division?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
I like the division to be competitive, even though I
always wish for every team other than Miami Dolphins to
tie every game. I don't even want you to lose.
I want you to tie just so you're in the
middle and you still don't know who you are. If
you lose, you just know you're bad. If you win,
you know you're good. When you're tied, you just have
no idea. I wish that could happen for the Bills,
the Patriots and the Bob Mass Jets, but it can't.
(03:51):
So I would like the division to be very competitive.
One thing that I did notice about the division, the
schedule makers didn't match up a lot of division matchups
towards the end of season in the last three weeks
in the AFCAS for some reason. So a lot of
these teams play early. They play often. Bills open up
with the Jets, so you have that game on the
opening weekend. And I think the three best quarterbacks all
(04:14):
the best quarterback of the three is gonna win the division.
Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback, the Jet's gonna win
a division. If Josh Allen is the best quarterback, the
Bills will win it. And if the Dolphins have two
of being the best quarterback, they'll win the division two.
So to me, this is all quarterback. The receivers all
wash out. I love Waddle and Hill, but I'm not
gonna act like that. Diggs and Davis and Gave. Davis
(04:34):
isn't formidable. I'm not gonna act like that. Jarrett Wilson
but Hill are the classes. Oh if they're the class
of the division. But these other quarterbacks still have weapons
that they can get the ball to. I like Miami
in about twelve and five. I like the Bills at
eleven and six. I like the Jets. I think something
happens with this offensive line. And Aaron Rodgers isn't fooling me.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I get it. He's being friendly. He's hanging out with
the guys.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
He's going to the Nick games, the Ranger games, the
Yankee games, doing all the New York stuff, showing his face,
talking well, making it sound good. But there's still something
with this team that lost seven of their last eight
last year, fell completely off the earth, and people could say, well,
it's because they didn't have a quarterback. There's other teams
that didn't have a quarterback and they were able to
manage to at least fight towards the playoffs in the
middle towards the end of the season last year. So
(05:17):
I don't want to hear about not having that quarterback.
You shouldn't have drafted him to begin with. You wouldn't
have been in that problem. So I think the offensive
line who Pro Football focus, so you're not a big
fan of I kind of like them a little bit,
but they have them ranked at twenties.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Because it's not based in like actual football reality. Sometimes
like if your stats are telling me that Pro Football
Focus is telling me that, you know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
I can't even think of a gradies, but pro football.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Folks not even they're not even stats, their subjective guests
passed off as a stat.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah, it's like and that's what it is. It's like,
it's like we took this one person's.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Grading system and it's like this is the way that
we're now grading things from now on. It's like, no,
I disagree, Like, don't tell me about the guy's QBR.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
You know why, because it's made up. It doesn't exist.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
It's not a real stat, and if you really want
to go back into it, you will remember you never
heard QBR until people are trying to explain how Tim
Tebow was winning football games when he was never Bronco. Again,
it did not exist prior to that. So no, Like,
I'm good with the regular role passer rating, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I'm with a few of them.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Like there's a few, there's a few advanced ones that
are really cool, but it's not I.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Think per attempt is important. I think that's an important one.
But when you watch the games, it can then explain
to you how Kirk Cousins can have the completion percentage
he does versus you know what I'm saying, versus a
guy who like Aaron Rodgers when his MVP season, Kirk
Cousin probably had a higher completion percent of JAM. But
nobody would want Kirk Cousins over Aaron Rodgers in that moment.
(06:49):
I don't know what either one QBR.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Was or their PFF grades, that's true, But what they
do is they get it accurate, though, so people can't
I disagree.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
I don't. I disagree.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
I don't think it's accurate. Well, here's the thing. If
you go and look at where they have, like an
offensive line rank like they have the.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Like they had the boat like they had the Bills
offensive line ranked in the top three, and then they
would have got pushed around by Sam Hubbard and Trey
Hendrickson in the playoffs, and then everybody's well, PFF didn't
account for the snow. Well, maybe this PFF was damn wrong.
Maybe they were just wrong. And this team in Buffalo
that had not been able to run the ball all year,
whether by design or by choice, now all of a
(07:25):
sudden can't block.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
No kidding, Yeah, I don't like No, I don't like ahead, And.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
It's all these freaking nerds who never played football, and
I also never played football. But not it has its place,
it has its importance. However, it is a data point
in the big sea of data points. It's not the
end all be all, it's not the alpha and omega.
But you will see there somebody will be like, oh,
Trevor Penning was ranked third in tackles.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
By PFF, why is he giving up a sack?
Speaker 2 (07:55):
I don't know, maybe never wrong anyway you were saying, done,
I'm just letting you have your.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Moment with with BFF. Yeah there, just let you guys
have your moment with Pro Football focus there for a second.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
It's all the same people who are sitting there talking
about oh who whatever page Jonathan Taylor or Dalvin Cook.
And then there's the same freaking people that retweet Bjohn
Robinson running for seven yards in the preseason, like.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Oh my god, look how smooth he is. You know,
you gota.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
It feels like a good baseline, but there are you're
actually are there are numbers where it's just like, I
don't know how this guy got a ninety today, Like
I don't see your I don't see what you're going for.
I've heard them try to explain these things and it
feels mealy mouthed.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Okay, So as I would say Pro Football Focus has
their offensive line right between twenty five and twenty seven,
I think Dalvin Cook's gonna find out how tough that
offensive line is. And Aaron Rodgers already kind of expressed
about the offensive line in the joint practice, and then
of course after the week goes by, they kind of
blow it over. So I think the Jets fit is third.
(08:56):
And I don't think the Patriots have a quarterback, and
I don't like the team the Zeke signing another older veteran.
I think they whiffed on Devonte Parker. I like Gasicky.
I wish he'd just stayed in Miami. But you're going
to a worst offense, a worst quarterback. You know, just
the system is not going to be the same. They're
not going to just find you and throw the ball
to you all the time like he wanted at Miami
and even getting the attempts at the targets he did
(09:16):
at Miami. So like the Dolphins to win this division
right here. I like the Bills to come up right
behind him and second and then the Jets. I feel
like eight or nine wins are where the Jets are
going to end up in this division.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
For the Jets, it really depends on the tackle play.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
You got mkai Beckton, him and Aaron Rodgers apparently going
to lunch at some point this week, you know, as
they saw on Hard Knocks. But really the big issue
is whether mccai beck is eating lunch or not.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
His knees are going to be an issue.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Then on top of that, on the other side of that, youah,
Dwayne Brown. He's thirty seven, you know, so you can't
have met you know who knows. Wouldn't shock me if
we see Jason Peters, who's come out and say he
wants to play again this season, wouldn't shot me if
we see him around there. That's a lot of older
fellas around around the quarterback. The marek talker is I
think he's I think he's a good player. I think
(10:04):
he's I think he'll be all right. He had his
peck injury. I think he'll be just fine. Tackles concerned me.
But again, when you have a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers,
somebody who's gonna be making quick decisions obstensibly right, you
would imagine make quick decisions you magic get something similar
to what you saw the entire time you in Green Bay.
Might be able to negate some of the tackle issues there.
But I think bigger thing is I'm concerned about the
(10:27):
Buffalo Bills, and I don't I think everybody's kind of
slating Buffalo in as a team that's gonna win this
division or be a wildcard out of this division. The
bigger thing for me is, we've seen how many different
how long is this window supposed to be?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Right that?
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Like?
Speaker 1 (10:41):
How long are.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
They are we saying that Buffalo is going to be
their windows close to win a Super Bowl with it?
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Well, that's the point. Eventually these things fall apart.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Buffalo hasn't necessarily they drafted, okay, but it's not like
they're hitting on crazy picks left, right, and center. Where
you're seeing like a team like the Chiefs. Where they
are hitting it is seemingly on every draft pick that
they make in this time period, that right there will
push that window down even more even more so, I'm
a little worried about Buffalo here, Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I mean, he's you know, these injuries coming.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
He's incredible, right, but we never speak about how the
durability of Josh Allen is a major key for Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
And look, and the other thing is, all right, well,
they're saying they're gonna run him less.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Well he won't run less though they They may not
run him as much, but he will stay tight off
and go.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
But just the thing is, okay, that's part of what
made him so great. Part of what makes Josh Allen
so great is he can run people over, right, and
he's not. Everybody talks about Lamar Jackson getting hurt running
the ball. Lamar avoids contact. Josh Allen runs two contact.
So that's something I'll you know. And that team was
flying high before before he got hurt in Detroit on
(11:56):
that game that got moved to the snow and then,
I mean, we were joking about this earlier before you
got in here. They said Brandon wanted me to come
in there and say that Kylo Thompson needs to be
QB one in Miami.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Right, I'm not going to do that.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
But what I will do, what I will say, what
I will do, and what I will say is.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Mike McDaniel and this shame Dolphins team walked in the
Orchard Park with a third string quarterback, and if they
had gotten some plays in earlier, if they had got
you assume Mike mcdaniel'll be better at that getting stuff
in sooner and get you know, being able to because
that was their hold up. They just couldn't get the
plays off. They were starting first in fifteen, second and
(12:35):
fifteen because he's taking too long and to call the play.
Speaker 6 (12:38):
It's all allowed there too.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Not only that too, you have to remember there was
a one play where he thought they were resetting. They
should have reset the play clock, and they did it,
so he thought he had time on the third down
and he said, no, no, no, it's fourth down. But they
waited to tell him his fourth down. And he said
in the press conference, now you're scrambling to look at
your fourth down plays because I'm thinking it's third down
because they didn't reset the play clock and they told
us we had a first down and then it ended up.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Being fourth down. Whatever, that's where one of them came from.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Whatever it may be, there was enough of them where
it was a big impact in the game, and quite honestly,
that allow Buffalo to advance and last year's postseason. If
Miami wins that game, how did we look at the
Buffalo Bills right now? Of course, you know a lot differently,
a lot differently, of course, especially if they walk in
there was colony lose Leslie Fraser, Jordan Porter, Michael Hyde,
(13:29):
the safeties, defensive backfield.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
I think it's going to be an issue. But so
that's why I'm leaning in.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
If I had to call it right now, which I
guess I suppose, I will I go Miami, New York, Buffalo,
and then New England.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
How mean wins you have for Buffalo? Nine? Okay? Yeah,
Vegas has over under said at ten and a half,
which was shocking, but see, I.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Would go under ten and a half. I think it'll
be a sweat. I think it will be a sweat.
I'm not expecting them to only win four or five games,
but I will go under ten and a half.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
They last summer, like this whole Buffalo thig is weird
to even hear now, because last summer I was saying
the same thing all year long. We were a victim
of what we last saw, and when we last saw
from Buffalo was the game against Kansas City where they
probably should have won the football game, and they put
up over thirty five points. But they decided to kick
the tarik and then decided to Lettereric catch a short
pass run a long way down, and then they decided
(14:20):
to let a linebacker cover Travis Kelcey in the red zone,
which with no safety help. You know, nice play call.
And that's Leslie Fraser who decided to take a year
off and you know, go hang out and chill for
a while. But coming off of that game, they were
picked by Vegas to win it. Josh Allen was picked
to win the MVP, and all summer long, I just
kept saying, this is none of this is gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Guys. We're being a victim of what we last saw.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
So if I got to say that about them last year,
then I have to keep the same consistency about what
I'm gonna say about him this year. The reason why
I like him still let eleven assists because Josh Allen
is still a great quarterback.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
He still has a great receiver. They should start to
run the ball a little more.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
The last four years twenty fifth or worse in the
NFL and rushing offense per game totals, touchdowns, across the
board for some reason. They don't run the football very well.
But last thing we saw was them being embarrassed by Cincinnati.
I think we're being a little victim of that. I
think this is still a good football team.
Speaker 2 (15:17):

that's crazy. On the road.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
On the road, walked into Kirk Cousins and said, give
me that back. We'll talk about the nfg's coming up next.

Sponsored by tire rack dot com. The way tire buying
should be VJ. The AFC East, I'm sorry the NFC,
NFC NFC East grew up in it.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
You had the.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
NFC winner come out of this division last year, the
Philadelphia Eagles second place. You got the silver medal in
the last year's NFL season, which doesn't exist, but they
won the NFC Jalen Hurts coming back, AJ Brown coming back,
And apparently they just drafted the entire Georgia defense and said, hey,
if it worked in college, will working a pro go.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Get the quarterback. Seventy sacks last year led the league.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
So I will say I don't like the strategy, but anyway,
who do you have coming out of the NFC East Eagles.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
I love this division because I grew up in this division, man,
so I'm really attached to the NFC East, and i
love it just like I love the AFCs. I like
the Eagles at thirteen and four. And I'll tell you
a few reasons why. I always look at the first
seven games.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Mark.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
My thing is when I look at a schedule, let
me see your first seven. Let me see at least
to almost the midway point where you possibly can be.
And their first seven is at the Pats, the Vikes,
at Tampa Bay, Washington, the Rams, the Bumas, Jets, and
then my Mighty Dolphins. I see one loss in there,
and that could be the game against the Dolphins. I
think they sweep the rest of that. They do have
a really tough stretch though, where they go Miami, Washington, Dallas,
(17:42):
Casey Bills, Niners, Dallas, Seattle Giants. That's a stretch that's
gonna tell me what Philadelphia is gonna be this coming season.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
I want to put them into Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I haven't made my super Bowl pick because I don't
do playoff picks, the super Bowl picks really until after
fifty three man roster's been turned in because of the
injuries and surprise cuts and things like that that can
affect teams. But there's only been two teams in the
last thirty years that have gotten back to the Super
Bowl after losing the Super Bowl. That's the twenty nineteen
(18:14):
Patriots in the nineteen ninety.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Three Buffalo Bills. So it's not often that this happens.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
But then on the flip side, you think somebody's gotta
do it again, though, right, it can't just be these
two teams, and you look across the NFC, I think
they're the best teams. I like Dallas at eleven and six,
and I hate to say that because I'm always banging
on Dallas, but that defense is monstrous. It really is.
That defense is good. Dan Quinn could be the best
defensive coordinator in football. In their schedule, I think they
(18:41):
have a chance, Martin to start off for six and
one Jets, the Giants, Zona, Pats, Niners, Chargers, Rams in Philly,
that that could be a six and one football team
to start. It's all gonna depend on Dak in the
receiving corps. I think the line they got Zach Martin back.
I think they'll be okay. The running backs, you know,
(19:02):
people feel like you don't need one anymore in the NFL.
So I don't even know what to say about Pollard
coming back off.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
Of a broken lage. Deuce Vaughan may not have gotten
tackled all preseason. I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah, yeah, duce Vaughn might be a guy. You know,
he might his preseason, but you could take a little
bit from preseason. He might be a guy. So I
like Dallas at eleven and six. I think Dak hopefully
doesn't throw another fifteen interceptions, but I don't think he
keeps it under ten as he predicted.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
I like the Giants at nine and eight. Daniel Jones
to me.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Just asn't that guy. I think their defense will have
to hold hold him down. I think there's still some resentment,
some little feelings between Saquan and the front office in
an organization.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
I don't think that's gonna affect his play mintally.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Oh, I'm not gonna go out and play, but I
just don't like bad energy and bad juice and Washington,
who I was really high on until their players started
complaining about being coached too hard. They fell off to me, man,
I wanted them at ten and seven. I dropped him
down to maybe six or seven wins, and that's how
I see that division.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah, I actually I think I'm gonna pick the Cowboys
to win it. Here's the thing, Like, I know that
we've annoying and Jalen Hurts, as you know, one of
the best quarterbacks in the NFC, and I'm not necessarily
disputing that, but is he the best quarterback in the NFL?
That's what I'm saying. That's a far reach for me
to go for, Like, that's a long walk to take.
I'm not quite there yet. And it's not that I
(20:17):
want to see more I'm hating on him or anything
of the nature.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
It's just like I gave him all the flowers in
the world last year.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
It's tough and he's a great guy, and he showed
last season he can win from the pocket when he
needed to. I do think though, when he got crushed
against the Chicago that was an ac joint.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
We've seen that the same thing.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
I've been Christian McCaffrey a few years back, and then
go figure he was not able to throw the ball at.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
The same accuracy.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
So I think that just part of their play design
and the way that they are is going to hurt
them in a certain stret That's what I think it
was what cost them last year. I think last they
are a better team than than the Kansas City Chiefs
were across the board. But Jalen had the fumble that
got turned for a touchdown to Scoop and score killed him.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
And that's one other thing too.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
People the people keep saying like it was the best
play that quarterbacks had in the losing Super Bowls.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Like, no, say that against something people are saying what
people have I've heard it.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I've heard it out there. I haven't done that that.
People have been saying that this was the most impressive
you know, oh effort and losing effort by a quarterback
in the Super Bowl. Sure really fumbled the ball, gave
up a touchdown. It's part of the reason, the big
reason why they lost the game.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Thought Matt Ryan played pretty damn good. He was up
twenty eight to three.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
I thought Matt Ryan played pretty damn I thought Tom
Brady played pretty well against the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
He threw for five hundred yards. Yeah, So my.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Thing is real quick to this point, I think the
Cowboys defense right now.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Oh man, it's better than Philadelphia's I think you add.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
I mean tray Von Diggs plays cornerback like a wide receiver.
He's got hands like a receiver. Yes, Stefan Gilmore, former
Defensive Player of the Year. And then the guy who
I will probably just bet on him to win Defensive
Player in the three or four or five years, Michael
Parsons is a major issue. I see that play a role, No, Zeke,
(22:13):
I'll see how Mike McCarthy again, I don't want to.
I don't want to pay two sides of the same coin.
Mike McCarthy's taking over to play calling, just like Sean
McDermott's in Buffalo. That difference is, though, I think that
Mike McCarthy might be a little bit better at this
because we've seen him call plays. We saw him call
plays for Aaron Rodgers. We saw him be successful in
Green Bay and like, sure did they have all the
(22:34):
postseason success that got a Super Bowl but continually not
able to get back to it. But there was no
denying that the offensively they were getting stuff done. Like
that's my thing, So I feel less concerned about losing
a guy like Leslie Frazier, who is a pre former
head coach in this league, premier defensive coordinator in this
league in my opinion, than I would a guy like
(22:55):
Kellen Moore, who everybody's really high on, but again have
not seen him in the big stages and be successful.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Talk to me, how do you feel about their receiving court.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
I will talk to you about that receiving corps in
just a moment, because Steve the Sangery is going to
talk to us about all the baseball scores and everything
that's going on in the world of sports.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
You take a Steve, thank you.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
Well, let's get produced in progress. Hey, there were Blue
Jays our leading at Cincinnati two nothing in the top
of the fourth, and the Guardians are hosting the Tigers
and already down to Detroit three to one at the
end of one. Cleveland Guardians, despite the bad record fifty
nine and sixty four in a fight for the AL
Central five games, they've fallen behind first place Minnesota, and
(23:35):
the Twins are winning one nothing against the Pirates in
the top of the second. Julio Rodriguez and the Mariners
lead one nothing at Houston in the top of the second.
Milwaukee won at Texas on FS one, six to one,
as the Rangers offense went four for thirty two with
eighteen strikeouts. Philadelphia was trailing three nothing at Washington going
to the seventh inning. Phil's won the game twelve to three,
(23:57):
Trey Turner with two solo homers in the eighth inn.
In the first of two in Anaheim, the Angels beat
Tampa Bay seven to six. First of two in San Diego,
Arizona a six to four winner over the Padres despite
two solo homers for Manny Machado, And in the first
of two in La the Dodgers stole one from Miami
three to one with three runs in the bottom of
the eighth inning. Doubleheader today in those cities in southern
(24:20):
California due to tomorrow's tropical storm, no game then, Cubs
beat Kansas City six to four. EX Dodger Cody Bellinger
two homers, four RBIs he's betting three. Twenty six All
Star pitcher Justin Steele another win for the Cubs. He's
fourteen and three. Boston sent the Yankees to a seventh
straight loss that game on FS one. Today eight won
the final. They beat Garrett Cole. He lasted four innings,
(24:43):
a lot of Grand Slam and a two run Homer
Giants out to a one nothing lead in the first
against the Atlanta Braves, who if they get a win tonight,
it'll not only be their fifth straight win, it'll put
him at eighty and forty two on the season. Plenty
of NFL exhibitions for this Saturday. Jaguars got to win
it Detroit twenty five to seven. Rookie running back Tank
Bigsby from Auburn thirteen carries and seventy yards rushing. Dolphins
(25:07):
won twenty eight to three. At Houston, Savannach made twelve
carries ninety nine yards. Skyler Thompson for Miami three touchdown passes.
Right now at Pittsburgh, it's second quarter and a Steelers
lead of fourteen nothing over the Buffalo Bills. Jalen Warren
on his one carry had a sixty two yard touchdown.
Kenny Pickett with a touchdown pass of twenty five yards
(25:27):
to tight end Pat Fryarmooth also in progress Bears at
Colt's late first quarter scoreless. PJ. Walker has finally completed
a pass one for four for Chicago. Like I say,
plenty of other games coming up, including Rams Raiders in
LA at nine pm Eastern time, Cowboys at Seattle at
ten Eastern time. And there's still due to be that
(25:49):
Charger home game against New Orleans tomorrow seven pm Eastern
time while the tropical storm rages outside.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and Bjay, coming to
you a love from the Tireck Com Studios. We were
just talking about the Dallas Cowboys in their receiving corps.
Say this, Brandon Cooks, the former number one, former first
round pick, rather has bounced around to a different bunch
of different teams professional wide receiver. My biggest takeaway last
year watching the Cowboys, besides the fact that they played,
(26:17):
they played Zeke at center for.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
The last play of Zeke skywboy care.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
There is a play midway through the second half of
the forty nine Ers Cowboys game this last season. Fred
Warner is lined up in the A gap opposite the slot.
Just if I'm familiar, He's lined up in between the
center and the guard opposite the slot receiver.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Slot receiver was t Y Hilton at the time.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
T Y runs down the scene and Fred Warner is
with him step for step, and I'm thinking there's no
way Fred Warner is a study, a star. He's a
great player in this league. But your slot receiver has
got to beat the linebacker who's also covering five yards
horizontal over to get to you. Do you see what
(27:05):
I'm saying. He's gotta win that. I think Gallup is
a good player. Ceedee Lamb's a good player. Brandon Cooks
makes this takes it from an average receiving cord, I think,
to a slightly above average receiving cord. They lose Dalton Schultz,
who is one of the favorites of DAK. But I
think Peyton Hendershot and Jake Ferguson combined probably better than
what Dalton Schultz will put out there.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
I don't like the receiving court. That's why I don't
think they can win the division. And I'm telling you this,
this receiving court can actually cost them a game or two.
You mentioned Cooks. Yeah, if you're giving me Cooks four
and five years ago, yeah, I'm good. But you're giving
me an older Brandon Cooks. And when you get older,
speed does start to see down run. He can still run.
But I like this, We're gonna find out how much
(27:46):
he can still run. We're gonna find out real fast
because he is going up against three hillacious defenses. Okay,
over in the NFC East, all those defenses playing all
of them. Buckle your chin strap man, eat your weedies
that morning, and drea two protein shapes. When you go
up against Washington, you go up against Philly, and you
go against the Giants defense. All three of these defenses,
(28:07):
they bring the wood with him, and they all got
guys that can cover, and they all got linebackers that
can run with you too. So if if you're a
t y Hilton guy couldn't get off Brandon Cooks, if
he could run like he did four or five years ago,
then fine, I have yet that's yet to be seen.
I'll judge it. Then Ceedee Lamb just drops too many
balls from me. He cuts off. He's not a precision
route runner. He improvises too much and doesn't stick to
(28:32):
the route. And I know that's not the offense. They
don't have that many damn option routes in that offense.
And Ceedee Lamb drops balls. He feels like I feel
like he loses a little focus, in a little of
attention to detail when I watch him play the receiver
position and it's gonna show up at the most unopportune time. Guys,
trust me, go look at his stats late in a
year and in playoff games. Since he's got the Dallas,
just go look him up and put the tape on
(28:54):
and watch him play. And I'm telling you this is
gonna be their downfall. I still like him at eleven
and six because they're is so damn good. Their defense
is gonna win them four games alone, four games alone.
Dallas Well, well, well Monday morning.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
You'll go, Dallas should have lost yesterday if they didn't
have that defense.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
They lose any stud on their defense. They're in trouble.
They're really in trouble. I don't like banging on Dak.
I'm trying to be a Dak supporter because that's how
I started. But I am kind of feeling like, all right, bro,
this is like how he was talking about Josh Allen
and Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
When when do when do we look at the Dak
and Dallas combination to go, okay, man, like this is it.
Now you got a defense.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
The difference between the two is Josh Allen has to
play at a supreme level for the Bills to be successful.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
So what's successful just winning games or getting to get
to the playoffs whatever.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
As soon as Josh Allen's played dips.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Dak Prescott had thirteen interceptions or fifteen interceptions or twelve
games last year, and this Cowboys team at the playoffs exactly.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
That's what I'm saying. So like, yeah, is that in
the playoff game he didn't play well and they lost.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Right, So in the Bills playoff game, Josh Allen didn't
play well and they lost. Right, He's gotta play just
as well as Josh Allen does for Dallas to win.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
You know, in the postseason. I disagree.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Well, I mean back to back years he hasn't played
well in home playoff games. They lost them both. They've
lost them both with with this defense we're talking.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
About, what the point is If Josh Allen does not
play well down the stretch at all, the Bills aren't
there in the first place.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Okay, the Cowboys Cowboys were there with theirs because they
have such studs on defense and were able to run
the ball.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Like you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
It's like Dak did not have a good year last
year and objectively, and the Cowboys were right there.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah, defense kept them in every game, a defense played well.
My point is, though I'm not worried about. To me,
Dak in the regular season don't matter to me. It's
like Josh Allen in the regular season. That don't matter
to me because we already know what those guys are
gonna do and can't do in the regular season with
the teams they have. Buffalo's got a great defense too.
Josh Allen's not winning all those games by himself. Buffalo's
defense plays well and win some games for them too.
Those two quarterbacks, though, they have to play, like you
(31:00):
said above above their head in the postseason for their
team to win. And when neither one of them do,
Josh Allen's only done it once. When neither one of
them do, then you it's for sure gonna be a loss.
I just don't like this receiving corps in Dallas. I
like them the defense enough to get them eleven wins,
as I said, But this receiving corps I have questions about,
just like Baltimore's receiving corps. I just I just don't
(31:20):
see it. They'd have to. They will have to prove
me wrong. Cooks is Oh gallup. Gallup's a nice two.
Three man Gallup's not even a solid two, And I
don't think CD Lamb's a solid one.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Ten catches for one hundred and twenty yards against the
forty nine ers, which was the best defense in the
NFC last year, And I'm sorry, what game was this?
The playoff game we played on and play well? He
had ten catches for one hundred and twenty yards. The
previous year was that one catcher two catches in that game?
I think that may be the game I'd be that
might be the game that I'm thinking about is the
game previous year when they lost to the players. You
could look that one up too, so, but I still
just don't like. I think it drops too many balls
(31:52):
and I don't like the receiving corps. The biggest problem
Dallas had last year, I think it was a field
goal kicker down the stretch.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Like, if you got to score, you can't rely on
the kick. You can't rely on points on the board
in the playoff game from your kicker.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah, yes, you absolutely can't.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Yes, you offense to score, but you absolutely can, Like
that's a ridiculous statement. You have to be able to
not any six is over threes, right and six is
over threes?
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Are you trying to dog?
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Jerry Jones was on the field before the game and
he's talking to the talking to Brett Maher because he
couldn't kick a field goal.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
You can't kick a field goal in this league. So
if you know you have that type of kicker, the
offense better show if.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
You can't make field goals in this league, you're not
advancing in the posts.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
I'm sorry, like that's I didn't think that was a
controversial take.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
And the point the point that the point that you're
making is the owner was on the field talking.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
To the kicker.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Okay, So if I play offense and I know the
owners on the damn field talking to the kicker, then
I know as an offensive player we got to score six.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
We can't depend on the three the damn owners talking to.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
The kicker exactly, because you didn't have a field goal
kicker you could trush.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
That's the problem they had.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
So the point I'm making is then they needed six
is then you can't tell me, well, they didn't play
well or they lost.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Because you gotta give me sixes. If you already noticed
the kicker, you dealing with That's that's the where I'm
coming from with it. If there's the kicker you know
you're dealing with, the offense needs.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Sixes, then that falls on back in the offense, not
the damn kicker. You were depending on the kicker that
the owner was trying to pump up on the field.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Before the game. You've already lost that battle with the kicker. Offense.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Better scored some touchdowns, indy, or we're losing, which Dallas
did because why they couldn't get past the goal.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
They also couldn't they also didn't have confidence of scoring
points inside the forty yard line. Like that's the whole point.
Like the Cincinnati Bengals don't make the Super Bowl if
Evan McPherson isn't blasting.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Field goals from fifty yards out. A kicker. You need
a kicker in the NFL. You need somebody you could
trust to be able to kick him. I didn't say,
you know, but you know what.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
The you are ignoring the whole point of they if
they didn't score a touchdown, they weren't going to score.
Speaker 6 (33:51):
Kerry Roadse was just in here, all right. The Chargers
lost a playoff game to the Jets because they could
not make field goals. They missed three field goals. They
make those field goals, they go to the AFC Championship.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
To the point, or or the offense can go score
touchdowns as far as the score. In the NFL, there's
a defense on the other side, all right.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
So when you get three, when you are on you
get into your own territory.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
You have to come away with points regardless. Sure, if
you sit there, kickers.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
If you sit there and kick four field goals from
the ten, I get you. But essentially you are the
Cowboys were in forty nine of territory scared to kick
field goals. It changes the whole strategy of everything you're
doing because now you're going four and fourth down instead
of kicking a field goal and then kicking off and
flipping the field position.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
It changes everything.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Which you don't have a consistent field goal kicker, you're
not winning anything. Kansas City has the best field goal
second best field goal kicker in the league, Like.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
That's why they win. No, they win because they lead
the league in score touchdowns. That's why they win, not
because they have the best kicker in the league. They're
also not afraid as hell y'all are crazy. Absolutely all right, off, am,
I off you would you rather not.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Have a kicker?
Speaker 4 (35:07):
I've seen this before. I've seen I've seen Justin Tucker
win games of the fact that he can hit sixty
three yards in Detroit.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
He's a Lions fan in Detroit.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Justin Tucker has sixty three yard field goals week one.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
I guarantee you this.
Speaker 6 (35:22):
The Raids offensive mindset is we just got to cross
the fifty yard line.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Because why because we're gonna get three points regard.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Okay, that's fine, and if that's their mindset, then if
you don't have a kicker, your mindset needs to be
a Listen, we need to call this.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Game not to get in the field goal range. We
need to call this game and approach this game to
score touchdowns because we don't have a kicker. But that's
the default. We don't so you have a great kicker.
The strategy is not let's just kick field goals. The
strategy is always let's score touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
But if we but you also saying that, all right,
all right, we gotta go, we gotta go, we gotta.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Maybe there'll be some sanity on the other side of this.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
No, not all football season. I guess not, all right,
Martin and VJ, Fox Sports Radio. Martin and VJ coming
to you from the tirerack dot Com studios. I'm gonna
read a tweet. This is from at rulinch Stone quote sheet.
Lamb is not a number one option. Turn that bleep
(36:18):
off right after that.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
I was just respond I was just responding right back
to him as Look, I'm responding right back to him.
He's not a number one. Stop letting the media trick you.
He's not a number one. He'd be a great number two,
but he's not close to what I think. Yeah, he's
their number one because he's the best guy they got.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
But ceedee, Lamb, is you think it's a bona fide
number one? All right?
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Cool, I'm standing. Just stick around all season, ladies and gentlemen.
Don't disappear. You go tweet us. Make sure you hang
around all year long. I'll be back to say I
told you so. I'll be back to say I told
you so. He's the best they have guys. Of course
he's more targeted. Of course he's getting catches in yards
they're throwing to. Every team has number one guy, but
a bona fide number one receiver.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
I don't have a list in front of me.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I don't even know if CD Lamb would make my
top ten receivers in the NFL right now, I don't
know if he would make my top ten.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
He might round out maybe eight, nine.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Ahead, run it right now, now, ten, because I just
just run the list off the top here.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
All right off the top of my head. I'll put
it like this.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
If you get to eight before CD Lamb, then I'll
let it go number one.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
So we'll go Jefferson number two. We'll go Waddle number three.
And there's no and no order, no order. We'll go
Hell number four. Give me Chase number five, give me
dig number six, give me DK number seven. Tight ends,
counter just receivers, just receiver, just receivers. So I'm at seven,
Oh AJ number eight, number eight, number eight, number eight.
(37:49):
I'm just I gotta go through the teams. Oh no,
he's a tight end. Number number is Debo. Does debo
count as a receiver?
Speaker 1 (37:58):
I count as a received? Okay, so Debo.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
So there's my there's eight right there. There's eight right there.
Ceed Lambs not better than none of those eight guys.
And I just gave you.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Eight I'd have CD Lamb above Jayalen Wattle.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Brown.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Yeah, that you're on your own. Yeah, okay, I'm that's
far from what does CD Lamb do better than Jaylen Wattle?
I don't know what does CD Lamb do better than
Jaylen Wattle? Jayla Wattle? Let the league in yards protect
he that's big play. That's not by mistake.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
I'm getting A. J. Brown confused with the other the
other Smith Smith. No, No, no, Tennessee Titans A J.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Brown.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
So I know you're not talking about Traylon Burkes who
they drafted mark someone my brains.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
You're thinking of the DeAndre anyway, the point, okay, I
have them above I would have.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
I'm sorry, Davantae Adams. There's nine. There you go, there's nine.
Speaker 6 (38:53):
Did you list Jamar Chase?
Speaker 1 (38:54):
He did, absolutely did, Okay, I didn't hear.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
I have him below Wattle. I have him below DK Metcalf.
I think if I can bridge the two gaps here.
Ceed Lamb is a number one receiver, but he is
near the bottom of tier one, maybe top of tier two.
I go tiering the guys out right, where's your tier
where's this? Where's your Tier one?
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Start? Five? Six, seven. I think I probably have outside
of your list. I was, I really have.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
I didn't really have too much of beef with besides
Waddle and DK, so I think, but I think that
would probably be about the line for tier one.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
The sixth to the seven.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Well, I just gave and I just gave nine, So
I right there and then CD he starts to creep.
He starts to creep in there for me somewhere. But yeah, guys,
I mean easy. I could give you eight receivers that
I think are better than ceede Limb. I guarantee you
Dallas would take any of those eight that I that
I just named, and they would be the number one
if they got the Dallas.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
DK Metcalf may not be the number one was on team?
Who's number one receiver? There? That's not Tyler Lockett anymore? Well,
there you go. I think it's Tyler Locket. But there's
nine Roosh whatever his name.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Coming up next, I want to ask VJ who is

you okay? Yeah, that's wo that was biblical right there, brother,
I like that.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
It actually might be from the Bible. Y'ah not sure.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
And happy belated man. Y'all tweet my man Martin White's
his birthday was yesterday. Man, my partner in Martin's birthday
was yesterday, man. So y'all tweet my man at Martin
White's on Twitter tweet the happy.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Birthday, thank you.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
It was actually so, I actually had a question about
this because my birthday was technically the seventeenth, and I
posted a day after. But so I thought about it
because I said, you're thirty four day one, which I
would expect it to be the first day of being
thirty four, because like day three hundred and sixty five
of thirty three.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Ye see, he overthought that, See you, God, you over.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
Thought I confused a lot of people. You overthought that.
You so overthought that. Well all the time were you born?
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Do you know what?
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Thirdy in the afternoon? Okay, so that's when you that's
technically when you really turned Oshner Hospital, the New Louisiana.
Lil Wayne had a song called and then the song
goes to the Austinal Hospital ak the city Zoo.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
Did you tell him that when you guys met over
on the show. I know, I remember you posting a
picture when he's in the studio and you guys got
a chance to wrap it into you know, talking rap.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Did you Did you ever tell him that?
Speaker 2 (42:15):
I did not, but I did tell him that my
mother was not a fan of the song that Lil
Wayne had that goes I'll shoot you arm leg leg armhead.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
And then he I told him that, and he told me.
Speaker 2 (42:28):
That he was under a lot of pressure to make
that song by some people out of Philadelphia, and I
was drawing the floor. I was very surprised music industry
that it was very surprised anyway, Yeah, let's go. We
won't be surprising this year, or it shouldn't be. Is
if that Kansas City Chiefs win the AFC West, it's
just what happened. Yeah, I know, we tried to make
the Chargers happen. Josh McDaniels and Derek Carr. That was
(42:51):
the thing for a bit. You know, even last year,
people were trying to sell themselves on a Daniel Hacket
and Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Know, hey, maybe this thing'll come back together over there
was a mess.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
I mean, look, that's probably the nicest way that you
could describe it and still be aligned with the FCC
guidelines that we are beholden to.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
It was a mess. What do you think of that division? Man?
What do you like?
Speaker 3 (43:19):
I'll jump out there and go first. Only one team
makes this playoffs from this division. Only one team does,
so I mean somebody else is getting three and it
could be the AFC West. I mean, excuse me, but
I don't think I think Denver's in trouble. I think
the Chargers take a step back and the Raiders. You
talk about people that's been on the Raiders or trying
(43:41):
to pump the Raiders. I was a guy loud as
hell last year, thought they'd win eleven games. I liked
bringing in Chandler Jones. I like I thought Josh McDaniels
learned his lessons from his first coaching job, went back
to New England, got some more schooling. Okay, let's try
it again. And I gave him the benefit of the doubt,
And boy did I look stupid. They were horrible last year.
Now they don't even want to pay the guy that
(44:02):
led the league in Russian. So I've got no faith
in the Raiders this year. I just think it's all
Chiefs fourteen and three. If that, I think they have
a monster year. That's a recent opinion I've come upon
because I look more in his division.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
I'm like, don't overthink this one.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
Be The Chiefs are the toast of the talent over there,
and these other teams aren't gonna do much.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
Think the Chargers will compete. I'd expect them to, especially
after last season the way it ended.
Speaker 1 (44:31):
Aidenn wins.
Speaker 4 (44:32):
There is one X factor. It's awesome no more. Jill
Lombardi is the offensive coordinated Moore is a big, big deal.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
I think that is a huge deal, especially when you
consider the offenses that we watched Dallas run, and you
consider Dak Prescott and his arm talent, and then you
think about Justin Herbert and his arm talent. As much
as I liked, I like that Prescott as much as
the next guy, but Justin Herbert went well.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
He's spending that ball in his arm talent.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
It's also additioned by subtraction. Like Joe Lombardi is notorious
for turning great quarterbacks with great arms in the checkdown Charlie's.
He did it in Detroit in twenty fourteen with Matt
Stafford too like and I just I know a lot
of blame falls on Duce Staley, but I think you
got to give them a chance with Kellen Moore to
see what he can bring to that table.
Speaker 2 (45:20):
My thing is this say nothing to do with Kellen Moore,
though they can't keep anybody on the outside healthy exactly.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
That's where I'm going.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Mike Williams misses some games they'rewin. James eventually was about
to say, talk about the defensive sign. They missed the
games over there too. They missed last year on j C. Jackson,
made him a very high paid corner he got hurt.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
And then when he was even playing. Didn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
Yeah, but I do think offensively they have too much
talent to just fall off the face of the earth.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
This was the team last year that was in the
playoffs as a wild card. You talked about the injuries
that's been on the outside. They have age going against
them in some of the skilled positions. The whole thing
with Austin Eckler just doesn't it's gonna leads. It's the
same thing I feel about Saquan It's just a bad
taste still left in your mouth. Even though Saquan got
a deal, right, he didn't get the deal. He didn't
get the long term deal. And they they're holding zoom meetings.
(46:12):
And Austin Eckler is the you know, the the CEO,
the ring leader, you know, the CEO of the running
back committee. Here, I just think the energy. I'm a
big energy guy, man, I love energy. I just don't
like the energy with this team. And people wanted their
coach fired in the front office and said, we listen,
we like the guy.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
We're gonna stick with him.
Speaker 3 (46:33):
But if things go awry and they have to fire him,
didn't season over. No no team ever fires their coach
in the middle of the year and it works out.
Now you're gonna be looking at a new coach. So
that's a new system in the middle of the season.
I mean, I'm sure you guys can get me one
or two out of the last forty years. But normally
when the coaches fire in the middle.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Of the year. Pisasio was disc close to the playoff
berth after John Gerden and his emails.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
That's cool, So there's there's one your last forty anybody
got you? I mean, it's not the norm. If you
have to fire your coach. That means you're gonna have
new coordinators, you got new position coaches, like it's gonna
be another turn and another playbook in another system, another
energy of coach coming in. For the Chargers, maybe they
should have fired Staley already. I don't know, but I
just know they didn't. And when I look at their schedule,
(47:19):
their schedule is tough. And remember the AFC is loaded.
There's not a lot of off weekends in the AFC.
If you don't play the Texans or I mean, got it,
is that the old team really in the AMC. You
can look at it and go are the Colts, and
maybe you know the coach because they they're starting to
Ricky Gover. But if you don't play the Texas, are
the Colts, You're either playing the Jets, the Bills, the Dolphins,
(47:40):
even the Patriots. That defense New England has is gonna
be really good because it always is really good because
Bill Belichecks their coach, The Chargers, KC, the Bengals, the Browns,
I mean the whole, the whole AFC North It's it's
tough sledding in the AFC.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Somebody's gotta fall back. Martin. I think it's the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
I think only one team from the AFC West gets
to the playoffs this year, when last year everybody was
saying they were going to get three. Remember that was
the talk last summer. Oh, they're gonna get three teams
in No, only one this year.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Well, I know this.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
The one thing I would be on the lookout for is, Okay,
you got a new coach in Denver. Now who's He's
not new to coaching, obviously, but new to Denver. Jared
Stidham is making ten million dollars over the next two years.
I'm telling you that's a very expensive backup quarterback by
week ten. Right, But that guy I think could throw
a loop in the AFC West, Russell Wilson, and it
(48:33):
was out all his fault.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
But he was so bad last year. Yeah he's done.
I'm not.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
They helped him out zero along the way, but more
pre snat penalties than any team in the league. The
Denver Broncos, both offensively and defensively. They were poorly coached.
This team going forward will not be poorly coached. But
I do know this, Sean Payton, for reasons that if
drove me nuts as a Saints fan, as not afraid
(49:01):
to run somebody else there at their quarterback.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (49:04):
Now, mind you, at the time we're talking about future
Hall of Famer Drew Brees and replacing him for four
or five snaps of game with the guy who should
be playing tight end to Taysom Hill, right, that was
my beef. Like Taysom Hill was, you just had to
watch him. He's so much better at everything besides throwing.
(49:25):
Besides throwing the football. Tim Tebow two point zero I
something with Denver also too. I still just don't know
about this running game. They fumbled the ball a lot.
They put the ball in the turf.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
I know the kid Williams that got drafted that North
Carolina that got hurt's going to be back this year.
They want to try to put Russell Wilson from the
things that I'm here. They want to try to put
Russell Wilson in anymore run oriented work off that passing offense.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
You know, I e.
Speaker 3 (49:47):
When they had Best Mode and Seattle and running that
type of offense. I just think Russell Wilson sometimes the
cliff comes quick man. You just don't see it. Some
players as gradual. Some guys just wake up one day
and they just don't have it for whatever reason anymore.
I think that's where they are with him. I have
in my one seventeen predictions that will debut next week
(50:08):
that Denver Arco that they only got a date Yeah,
next week, many I only got a date.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
For this fable one hundred and seventeen lists. It ain't fable, baby,
it's right here. You'll start.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
Nah, come on, I've been saving the best for us, guys.
I know you guys have heard me. He tweeted the
other night. I was on Arnie filling in for Jason
Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon and uh and
Arnie wanted to hear some of them, so I throw
him out there. I saw Martin tweet it. We want,
we want the list, but the list is coming. But
the Denver Russell Wilson mark this down. He'll be bitched
by week ten. He'll be bitch by week ten. It's
(50:39):
because it exactly just what Martin said, A ten million
dollar backup quarterback.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
To be fair, it's five million per two the next
two years.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
But why is it two years? Because they want to
see what they got in them.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
And if they think they got something in them, did
you know you can get them. He can be a
bridge next year to maybe what you can get in
the draft or start again two three years down the line.
So I think one team makes this division. But Russell
Wilson mark this down will be benched by week ten.
Speaker 2 (51:09):
You can put it on the there we go, put
it on the board on the board.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Yeah, I'm with you. We need one of those. We
need a board just for our show of our predictions and.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
Picks, because I I do think that russ is like,
that's that's gonna be their biggest hold up. I think
I think they got talent on the outside. I think
that last year, if they can if they can replicate
just what seventy five eighty percent of the defensive prowess
they had, yeah last year.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
That will be just final that side of the ball.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
They would have been one of the best teams in
football had they been able to score over for twenty
points a game.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
You know, it was so bad. They were just so
bad offensively.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
Sean Payton is not going to be calling an offense
that is that bad.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
It's not happening. It's not happening.
Speaker 3 (51:52):
If Russell's playing quarterback. It will also too that offensive
line looks bad. And I know it's just preseason. You
guys know, I always say preseason fifty to fifty. You
could take something from it, but you don't take anything
from it like it's a regular season game. But you
can watch certain parts of the offense or certain parts
of the defensive. Okay, they'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
There.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
They were going against twos for Arizona last week twos,
and the twos were blowing the starting offensive line off
the ball. Russell Wilson was running for his life. You
mean to tell me, y'all ain't been working on this
all summer long, OTAs voluntary mandatory, in the first seven
days of training camp, and we still have this issue.
(52:33):
It don't change guys in football, trust me. If this
is who you are, this is who you're gonna be.
But he'll be bench and I think he'll be out
of Denver by next year. This is his last year
in Denver. It just didn't work. He's one of those
guys that's just gonna fall off the planet. I didn't
tell me he's gonna fall off the planet. Yeah, well
the face of the planet. Because he's got other stuff
and he's married to a pop idol and he'll go
(52:55):
do other things, but I don't think he'll be a
starting NFL quarterback again after this season.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
This is last year's n a full quarterback. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
Man, I saw somebody tweet I want to say it
was my buddy, Harrison Tenser. He said, Russell Wilson is
going to name his next son America and use it
as a campaign check.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
I thought that when he runs for president twenty twenty six.
I saw you retweet that. Probably on that way.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
I do think that it might be time for us
to go be a family man.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Raiders for you bad. You got the Raiders. Just you
got Raiders last place. Yeah, he's there, Yeah, I mean
you will talk about the the vibes are off. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
And this was a team last year that had a
seventeenth everye hundred yard receiver, the best back in full
fifteen hundred our back, fifteen our back. They're like, whatever,
forty five hundred yard passing quarterback.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Well, whatever, we're good. We'll move on from the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
Trey took a quarterback with the chip on his shoulder
Derek Carr, to a quarterback with a chip in his
foot in Jimmy Garoppol and his knee and his knee,
and we'll see how that works out. But uh yeah,
I'm not I think that I think Josh McDaniels for
first coach fire as pretty decent.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
That might be a good investment.
Speaker 3 (54:07):
Listen, somebody threw this at me the other night and
just and just let me land on this, guys. Bill
Belichick calls it as last year. This is last year
in New England. The Raiders fire Josh McDaniels. Bill Belichick
goes and takes the Raiders job. Tom Brady comes out
of the front office and plays quarterback next season. Now,
(54:29):
now it's a long shot. There you go, Brandon. I
knew that would get you. I knew that get Brandon.
It's a long shot. But could you imagine radio and
TV guys, if that unfolded that way?
Speaker 2 (54:40):
You mean us, I think that has about as much
chance as you know what.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Don't know it.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
I was about to say this got about as much chance.
It's getting struck by lightning twice, but what the hell
do I know? It's a hurricane in the Pacific Ocean.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
There you go. Who knows? Times are changing? Things are weird?
Speaker 2 (54:58):

VJ, I gotta ask you, at the risk of derailing
the entire segment, did you ever make that TikTok? Yes?
I did.
Speaker 3 (55:55):
Oh, I told Brandon about it the other night, So
I did start my TikTok and I've only posted one video,
but I'm gonna go with it. I thought about what
you guys said, thought about what my niece Kyra aka
school up school, and thought about what some other people
told me to do, thought about what you guys were
talking about. Say, Okay, you know what, go at it man,
go full force? Do you put yourself out there? Do
you do you think? Do what you're doing? Let's see
(56:17):
you see what happens with us? So yes, the reason
it did start my TikTok.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
The reason I asked is because that's the only place
I've ever heard that song before?
Speaker 1 (56:22):
Is uh? I heard it? Who became familiar off TikTok?
That's it.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
I know I've heard that song because I don't want
you guys jumping down my throat.
Speaker 1 (56:29):
You do know who it is?
Speaker 3 (56:31):
I've heard that song, but I don't know the name
of the artist. So, Chris, did you know who that was?
Because you hooked me up with because I've heard that
it's a very popular song.
Speaker 1 (56:39):
It's a masked Wolf. Wow. I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (56:44):
I mostly knew it because someone rolled it in for
like an open for two pros and a cup of Joe.
Speaker 1 (56:48):
Okay, I'll tell you what it's mass Matt. I've never
heard of him.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
We could have put up like seven different band names
and I would have been like, that's not.
Speaker 1 (56:56):
I was about to say, I have never chose Masked Wolf.
Speaker 4 (57:00):
You were around that Spotify age man, like, guys just
go out there, they drop a banger and then that's that.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
Oh okay, yeah, that's why I heard just Instagram with
people they put the music to their videos. So I've
heard that a thousand times, but I never knew. I
thought it might be like, I don't know, Travis Scott
or somebody or a little you know, little.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
Is there a feature on there, somebody that we've heard of,
or is it just maskeed Wolf?
Speaker 1 (57:22):
Just a single he put out, just a single, put
out and it blew up.
Speaker 6 (57:26):
Drake made that one song, the Kiky Do you love it?
Speaker 1 (57:30):
I can't remember my feelings? Is that what my feelings?
Speaker 6 (57:34):
I made that specifically to like go viral on TikTok.
Speaker 1 (57:37):
I mean it's a bad strategy.
Speaker 3 (57:39):
It wasn't a bad strategy because I saw a lot
of women dancing too, because there was wasn't there a
dance you had to do to that song?
Speaker 1 (57:45):
Kick? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (57:46):
Okay, Oh, Brandon's got it, Brand's got yeah, Brandon little
San Diego soul.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Maybe that was the problem Keiky Palmer and her boyfriend.
Speaker 3 (57:54):
Ah nah, usher Man, listen Usher, Usher and Drake listen
to me right now, real fast, y'all stop man, like
for real, both of y'all stop. We both know y'all
are famous, y'all good looking dudes, and y'all can get girls.
But don't don't go after people that's god, dudes at
home or married or boy come on.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
Night like stop stop, stop, stop, that's not what happens. Stop, okay,
stop no listen.
Speaker 3 (58:16):
Usher Ben told us Usher Been told us, and you
don't have to call after tonight. Don't leave your girl
around me, true player, for real, that's my for real.
Usher Ben told us, don't leave your girl around me?
So yeah, confessions bar one and two. Huh, come on,
usher Been telling us what he is and who he is.
(58:37):
But don't go after like you know, don't don't do
that like the thing with Kiki.
Speaker 1 (58:41):
Don't do that, man. You know she got to do
it at home. She just had a baby by would
you he didn't go after He's talking? Nah, you don't.
Speaker 3 (58:49):
They know what they be yelling louder does me doesn't
make you right? They Martin, they know Martin, they know
what they be doing. They know what they be doing, Martin.
When you can singing and you good looking and you
think they know what they do it?
Speaker 1 (59:03):
All right? All right, y'all want to try to play
like that? Right, fine, whatever, let's talk football.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
I will say it does seem to be that I'm
the only person that was able to take their girlfriend
to the Usher show and survive. See see oh but
but but all right, no, but I don't think of
that anything to do with everything to do with me.
Like I said before, Chris, I'm built different, all right.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
I'm not even mad at that confidence. So I'm gonna
let you have that.
Speaker 2 (59:29):
I'm built different, right, all right. That's the way I'm
move in this world exactly. When you come around here,
it's gonna be a long night, all right. It's different
round here. O.
Speaker 3 (59:42):
Man, Oh god, that stuff kills me when I see
that on the internet. That guy there's a guy going
around asking couples questions, and one I saw the other night.
He goes, if there were a celebrity that you could,
you know, cheat on your man with, who would it
be and she flew right out her mouth with I
was like, she ain't even think about it, but yeah,
that relationships over. If you with me, we're done. That's no, no, no, no, no,
(01:00:02):
you lie if anything right there? Oh nobody, I love?
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
This is my man right here?
Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
Grab my hand, fill on my biceps or something like
on the back of the triceps. You're not a lady,
Grab back that. Yeah, do that? Do not just blurt
out a celebrity name. Boy, So you know it's probably
true though. That's but you know what though, lie to me.
It's okay. You can lie to me. You can lie
right there at that moment and say nobody. I wouldn't
do that. I'm in a relationship. I would lie.
Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
I would lie if I'm walking with my girl and
we get stopped. Hey, can I ask you a question
for my ti? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Go ahead, brother, What you got man? If they're a
celebrity that you would cheat on your girl with, absolutely not.
Are you kidding me? First of all, don't walk up
to me like that. It's disrespectful to me, bro.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
It's something that you probably should have discussed prior to
Like how would you because like, how would you feel
if like you're shitting there and guy comes up to you,
and your wife says Harrison Ford, like what, like, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
What I'm saying? She's like, Robert. Yeah, it's like like
I am an old dude. Like an old dude. That
would kill my confidence, you know what. I'm like, tough man,
I'm like, damn.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
Not even not even Denzel, not even Boris Ka Joe,
not even Brad Pitt.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
You said, Christopher walking R p to the homie.
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
I think that's the thing I would be more upset about. Honestly,
I would be more upset about that. I was like
an old, like an old did you say, right, Peter,
Christopher Walkers. I'm about to say, I I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
You know what, mart Look I saw Marty going to it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
I made this mistake the other night. I thought Jake
the Snake Roberts former w W.
Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
He's still walking, man, Look just tell them you thought
we were thinking of Ken Stabler the Snake.
Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
Oh man, Yeah, I made that mistake with Jake the Snake,
Roberts and uh on a Scott Hall post. I was like, hey, man,
you know you know R Peter both from somebody's like
Jake to Snake Roberts's dad, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
Like, oh, I thought he I thought he was. Yeah. Well,
sorry about that Christopher walking. It was VJ, not me. Steve.
Speaker 7 (01:02:02):
Say it's with this one some sports please, let's tasty
baseball and football quickly.
Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
Before everybody turns it off, Let's go.
Speaker 7 (01:02:09):
Seattle's Julio Rodriguez has fifteen hits at a four game span,
now most in Mariners history. Seattle is leading four to
two at Houston top of the fifth inning tonight, and
Jay Ron at the top of the lineup, is two
for three so far for the Ms this evening. Blue
Jay's lead at Cincinnati four to three in the bottom
of the seventh in the battle for the lead in
(01:02:30):
the AL Central Minnesota is tied against Pittsburgh two to
two in the top of the sixth. At Cleveland, the
Guardians are losing to Detroit three to one Tigers in
the bottom of the fifth inning. Also in progress, Giants
lead at Atlanta four to three in the bottom of
the fourth. Earlier, Arizona won the first of a double
header at San Diego six ' four. Angels won the
first of a double header over Tampa Bay seven to six,
(01:02:52):
and the Dodgers at home won the first of two
against Miami three to one. With three runs in the
bottom of the eighth. Boston sent the Keys to a
seventh straight loss, eight to one. Philly came back to
win at Washington victories for the Cubs and Milwaukee. The
Brewers won at Texas in dominant fashion six to one.
The Rangers offense just four hits and eighteen strikeouts. Plenty
(01:03:14):
of NFL exhibitions for this Saturday. Jacksonville was twenty five
seven winner at Detroit.
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
CJ.
Speaker 7 (01:03:20):
Bethard started at quarterback at one touchdown pass one interception.
The Dolphins won twenty eight to three at Houston. Over
two hundred yards rushing for Miami. Savan Akhmed twelve carries
ninety nine yards on the ground. Early third quarter at
Pittsburgh at Steelers twenty four to nothing over the Buffalo Bills.
Matt Barkley of Buffalo has thrown three interceptions halftime. Bears
(01:03:41):
tied seven to seven at Indy Gardner Minshew with over
one hundred yards passing thirteen to fifteen through the air
and one touchdown for the Colts. It's Bucks tied three
to three at the Jets. In the second quarter of
play Patrick Holmes Mahomes is playing for Casey. It's scoreless
late first quarter at Arizona and the Patriots have a
seven to nothing lead late in the first at green Bay,
(01:04:02):
Ramandre Stevenson now has twenty seven yards rushing. You just
pulled off twenty three yard game before that, it was
three carry four yards in a touchdown. The one TD
in this game so far at green Bay, first quarter,
Vikings hosting the Titans. That game is scoreless. We got
Broncos at forty nine Ers due to start in a
few minutes. Brock Perty's going to get a series or
(01:04:23):
two for San Francisco Raiders at Rams in a half
an hour. And the late game ten pm Eastern time.
We'll have the Cowboys at the Seahawks. There will be,
they say, a Chargers home game tomorrow in that Rams
Stadium against New Orleans. Despite the tropical storm that's going
to be landing in, it's weird to say out loud
in southern California. The National Weather Service said no tropical
(01:04:46):
storm has made landfall in southern California since September of
nineteen thirty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
Back to you right on time, huh nineteen thirty nine?
I mean, and you know what's going to be hilarious.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
This game probably is gonna get postponed or delayed at
some point because of lightning. Remember last year, Yeah, there
was a rain delay for the Charges game in Los Angeles.
Speaker 7 (01:05:06):
Because it is open air above each end zone, there's
a cover over the field. It's a translucent roof, but
it's not a dome stadium. So the College Final last
year when TCU was getting killed against Georgia, huge storm
outside in Los Angeles, rain coming in the sides of
the stadium and people getting wet because it's coming in sideways,
and then it's cement plaza behind the seating area and
(01:05:29):
people were slipping some injuries.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
It's hard to contemplate if you've never spent time in
southern California, just how outside the indoor stadium is it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
Really it's hard.
Speaker 7 (01:05:41):
It's noticeable day or night game as to how light
it is in front of you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Absolutely, absolutely, Well, let's move on, Bjay sure coming to
you live from the Tireck dot com studios and talk
about one of the teams in that division that plays
in that very place, the Los Angeles Rams and the
rest of that division.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Real quick, I like the fact that he's playing here
me too.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
But I think we if you you got to play
Trey Lance the whole second half, in my opinion, like
you've got it, You've got to play him. You got
to see if somebody's gonna want to trade for this guy,
because I don't think he's right now. He's not gonna
be your QB too, So I think you got to
put him out there. So we'll see how that plays out.
I'll keep an eye on it just to see just
how many snaps he's getting. But I imagine he'll play like,
(01:06:24):
I don't know, the third quarter and we'll see that
Brandon Allen or something like that, and the fourth.
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
But I always say Trey Lance needs to get all
these snaps.
Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
But anyway, the NFC West is upon us, and BJ
I got an opinion. I thought it wasn't that crazy.
But I look at some of the betting odds. Then
I look at some of the you know, other things
that you know make me kind of help inform my opinions.
At least, I think I might be one of the
few out here. The Seahawks, I think right now, even
(01:06:56):
though the forty Nines were in the NFC Championship game
last year. You should be looking at the Seahawks as
the favorite out of the NFC West.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
I don't know, Am I crazy to think that you're
not crazy?
Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
But it makes me think that when I'm talking to
you guys, sometimes you guys shut me off and don't
listen to me, just like just Vj's just rambling like
VJ normally does.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Didn't I tell y'all this two three weeks ago? You
said this tell a lot of two three weeks Well.
Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
I mean I did, though I like to be ahead
of the curve. I picked Seattle to win this division
two weeks ago. I think Seattle wins this division at
twelve and five, San Francisco ten and six, the Rams
seven and ten, and Zona finishes up bringing up the
rear at three and fourteen. Seattle's first seven games I
really like for them Rams, Lines, Panthers, Giants, Bengals, Zona, Cleveland. Hey,
(01:07:39):
they that could be five and two for them right there.
And they have a four game stretch though, where they
go forty nine ers Dallas, forty nine ers Philly.
Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
That can be tough.
Speaker 3 (01:07:47):
But I like the fact they drafted Zach Scharberonney out
of UCLA gives them a second back behind Walker, the
stud that they got from Michigan State. I think DK's
a mission. Is the top ten receiver. Tyler's now kind
of the wily veteran number two. DK's the one. Love
the defense. What Pete Carroll's done this year, man or
not this year, but in previous two drafts, getting young guys,
getting undrafted guys, and then they used their first round
(01:08:08):
pick bringing another defensive stud. I think they win this division,
and I don't think it's gonna be much as surprise.
I think people want to see Gino out here. Oh,
I gotta see it again. We don't say that about
everybody else. We're not saying about brock Party. We're annointing
brock Party is the next coming off, the next good
quarterbacks in this league. Nobody's saying, well, it was only
certain amount of starts. I gotta see it again. Gino
(01:08:28):
played all last year, you know what I'm saying, and
did what he did, so I think they gave him
his money. Think Gino's gonna be great. Love the receivers,
love the old line, love the linebackers, the dB, Pete Carroll.
Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
I may get off.
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
I may get off his back, because I've been on
this back since he left Reggie Bush holding all the
evidence and ducked out in the middle of the night
and USC did Reggie Bush that way. So I've been
against Pete Carroll since then. He wins this division right now, man,
I cashed his betting I got going on some of
these parlays.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
I'll let Pete Carroll finally off the hook. Pete Carroll's
your vanilla brother of the week.
Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
Just because I'm again don't mean I can't recognize when
you're doing something good.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Just because I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Against you or I'm banging on you, I can't. I
don't like Lebron, but when he does something good, I
said my hat and say he did something good. When
he broke the scoring record, I came in here and
gave him every prop and gave Mary Flower. I possibly
could still don't like the guy, but I don't let
that affect what I think you're gonna do and what
I've seen you do.
Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
Though, I think Pete Carroll's gonna be great this year
for them.
Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
I just really like how uh and I just hope
they don't get too big. They got a little bit
too big for their breeches last year. Breeches that's a
Southern word for pants. They got trousers. They got a
little bit too tall for their trousers last year, and
especially some of that, like if Pete Carroll, I know,
I get it, it's a home game type radio show,
(01:09:49):
but he's like, yeah, you know, Gino's just really following
all the directions, you know, and it's like.
Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
Russ ain't followed directions then things all, but you know what,
the directions apparently went left after that because the tea
kind of had a little part in the middle of
the season where they fell apart.
Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
But I do think that Gino it will be good
this year.
Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
I think Jackson Jackson Smith and Jigba is going to
be a major, Like he is a guy.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
That they were missing. God.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
I think again, whether you think Tyler Locketts to the
number one, DK is the number one whatever, we have
a different opinion on that matter. I think just because
of the types of routes that they run, Lockett is
more of a number one in that and it's gonna
be the number one option in the offense and part
of it you see DK maybe you know twice a year,
have a difference of opinion on the sideline about how
(01:10:33):
he feels about that.
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
He's a diva, DK is a diva.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
But I do think that Jackson Smith and Jigba is
going to be like your Wes Welker Cole Beasley at
the height of their careers where they're these guys who
are running these five to seven yard option routes and
just tearing linebackers apart, you know, just ripping linebackers to.
Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
Shred safeties too, so safeties.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
It's that with their ability to run the game. And
then also with the idea that Brock Party second year starter,
I understand, and I was a big fan of his
last season, but also because I'm a big fan of
Kyle Shanahan and the scheme that they run. But to
your point, Rock Party is the leader in the clubhouse
(01:11:23):
in a quarterback division, I mean in a quarterback room
that has Sham Darnold, who for better or for worse,
you know what he is, Trey Lance who where Depending
on how you feel and maybe you still there's more
out there you need to find out. Maybe there's not
Brandon Allen, who's a career backup. Brock Purty does it.
Brock Purtty had Tommy John surgery this offseason and got
(01:11:46):
hurt in the second to last football game of the year.
If Brock Purdy had gotten if he had came out,
for example, and gone eight to one in the first
nine games, then gotten hurt and then had a chance
to go and and rehab and all the other stuff,
I'd feel much different about this. But one thing that
I've learned from listening from my friend Shannon Sharp over
(01:12:08):
years and years and years, you do not get an
opportunity to get better in the off season when you
are hurt, because you are spending the entire time getting healthy.
Speaker 1 (01:12:21):
I don't believe.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
That brock Purdy is just going to be able to
walk in and have the same level of success that
he was able to have in the last ten games
of the season. It's a testament to this fort nine
Ers coaching staff and how he was prepared. Now he
was ready, but nobody in that nobody expected him to
be the starter at any point, Otherwise that would have
taken him before the last pick of the draft. Nobody
(01:12:44):
expected that it worked out. I just don't know how
many times you may catch lightning in a bottle. Maybe
it's a lightning, maybe it's not lighting. Maybe the sun
is out right, but maybe there's lightning in a bottle
with rock party. And I think the bigger thing is
and the and uh, the Seahawks. They have a baseline,
(01:13:06):
they have an identity, They know who they are. Geno
Smith with his second you know, kind of like they
wrote me off, fly right back, you know what, He's
kind of had that redemption tour moment, right. I think
it's just gonna be in a different I think and
plus two again with these windows forty nine ers defense
really really great. However, guy who's been calling that defense,
(01:13:27):
it's now the head coach of the Texans, the guy
before that, the head coach of the Jets. How many
different times are you going to continue to hit on
defensive coordinators? I think there's something to be said about
that slow Nick Now the guy who was helping hand
to handle a lot. And offensively, he's gone McDaniel, he's
(01:13:48):
gone all of these places. We've seen different offensive coordinators
moving from It's a lot of it has come from
San Francisco. After a while, you're gonna see some regression there.
And the biggest thing that has me concerned. We are
just about twenty one days away from the start of
the football season and Nick Bosa is not currently signed.
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
Now that's a major concern for me. Eighteen and a
half sucks.
Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
You need that in there on party real quick, and
I'll make it as fast as possible.
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Didn't believe in him last year.
Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
I understand they won games and it looked good, but
not only did he not get a chance to get
better because he was hurt. All the other defensive coordinators,
the defensive coaches that are watching film that are now
gonna catch up to him, and they're gonna go back.
I'm pretty sure they got a bunch of Iowa State
film also too. It'll all catch back up to him.
Trey Lance is still on this team because I believe
Trey Lance will be the quarterback at some point this year.
(01:14:40):
Either Brock's gonna get bitch or he's gonna get hurt again.
This arm injury coming back, this elbow injury is nothing
to take lightly. Also real two, just quick, DK Lockett
one forty one targets for DK one to seventeen for Lockett.
Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
DK is the number one. We can still disagree.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
But the guy you're throwing the ball to the guy
you're looking for the most in my opinion, would be
considered you're you're number one, and I think because also Tyler,
Tyler is getting a little older.
Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
You know what I'm saying. On the route listen, he
does it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
He may not be the greatest route runer, I give
you that, but I still think he's number one.
Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Martin and VJ coming to you with NFL Division previews
coming up next, we'll go south Martin VJ, Fox Sports Radio.
Martin and VJ coming to you live from the tire
rack dot Com Studios.
Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
You got it, Brandon, There you go, There you go,
there you go. Okay, do it? Yeah? Do the TikTok dance.
I don't know it. Oh okay, I thought you were
actually really doing it. There.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Do the makrena see oh the macarena. Yeah, the macarena.
I remember That's what I said. That's gonna be the
danger now now that very online VJ is on TikTok,
he's gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
Did you guys see that? Yeah? Did Yeah, we saw it.
We saw it, and.
Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
I'll see just because you said that right there, trying
to be a smart ass, I'm not gonna ship. I'm
not gonna ask you guys nothing about what you saw
on TikTok. He just really you're not competitive. Buy him, bron.
Don't bet me that I won't.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Because I'm telling you, once you get on there, you're
gonna see so many different things that it's gonna I promise, and.
Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
I'll share with everybody else except for you three.
Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
I'll say right off the bat. Don't follow any investing
advice on TikTok.
Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
Though, of course I don't follow that stuff on Instagram.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
You ever see the people that's like, yeah, if you
if you give me your cash app and I'll blench you.
Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
With five thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
I'm like, dude, all you gotta do is cent one
hundred for the fees and blah blah blah and then
the other four four thousand something this trip.
Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
Yeah, okay, buddy, AFC South, Yes, we're sitting. Anthony Richardson
said he was surprised to find out that he was
going to be the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.
I wonder it's fascinating because Gardner Minshew now has been
replaced by Trevor Lawrence and Anthony Richardson. All right, that's
been backing up them at least, you know, was that
fine to be interesting? Gardner Minsch, you got to start today.
(01:16:51):
Anthony Richardson did not play in the AFC South. But
I think this is likely going to be I think
we're looking at the worst vision in football. When you're
talking about the AFC South.
Speaker 1 (01:17:03):
I think it might be the AFC West.
Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
But I won't argue too much about it possibly being
the South because this division is always a blood bath too. Man,
when these teams play each other, whether it's Jacksonville or
the Coats or the Titans in there. I still don't
know what the Titans but be I don't think they'll
be that good. Coats have a rookie running quarterback, so
they got some things they gotta fix there and let
(01:17:26):
him grow. They have a running back issue right now.
And Jonathan Taylor wasn't hurt then in practice, not hurt
again or wrestling again, whatever the case is, back and
forth out there with Indianapolis. With them, I think Jacksonville,
and I think pretty much everybody would agree that Jacksonville's
is gonna win this division. But here's something I think
that we might not be paying attention to Jacksonville. They're
(01:17:47):
over unders nine and a half. All right, that's sie
of minus one forty and a plus one to twenty
on the under. I looked up to ten and a
half and eleven and a half because I thought there's
gotta be some AFC team that's gonna just steamroll the
division and get up at least the twelve wins other
than the Kansas City Chiefs, and I think it could
be Jacksonville ten and a half to the plus one
twenty five minus one fifty on the over. Under eleven
(01:18:07):
and a half was a plus two twenty minus two eighty.
I love their first four games Man Baltimore, Tampa, Carolina, Tennessee.
I think maybe they can get three and one out
of that. But I like this team right now to
win this division. Texas have a rookie, and he's got
a rookie, and I think Tennessee is trying to figure
out where they're gonna go to next year because I
(01:18:28):
think Tanne Hill and Derrick Henry will be in new
uniforms next season. So that's a coin flip team right there.
Maybe seven wins, but I think Jacksonville walks walks away
with this division.
Speaker 1 (01:18:40):
So I think Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
I think we're in a position here where Jacksonville will
win the division. However, I don't think they'll be very impressive.
I think you could probably win this division at eight
and nine. Well well yeah, because the other three teams
are it's gonna be so bad. But that doesn't mean
you gotta win it at eight and nine. But yeah,
but I just don't Jacksonville had a lot of funny
stuff happened last year in a way that in a
(01:19:04):
way that I'm not sure if it's repeatable, Like I
don't know if they have like that. The Cowboys lost,
for example, the Cowboys lost to Jacksonville on like some
very fluky stuff. The Jaguars needed to go like seven
and one in their last eight to be able to
even qualify for the wild for to win qualify of
(01:19:25):
the playoffs. It's just I mean, and we sat there,
We saw Trevor Lawrence at through four first half interceptions,
and I get that he threw five touchdowns overall in
the playoffs, but I mean, we were sitting here and
I don't mean poke. You were like, yo, they should
bench at the game was oh yeah, yeah, it's like
you know, it's like exception the first half most guys
were't gonna get bitch. But yeah, it's just you couldn't.
(01:19:48):
You know, you couldn't. There was no but I feel you.
It wasn't a crazy It wasn't the craziest thing out.
But we'll get into more NFC South. I can't wait
to preview this one. At the top of the hour,
Martin and VJ Fox Sports Radio.

producing the show. I don't know if they heard with
(01:20:34):
VJ said as he walked in here, but he yells,
you're all off of Uncle Vjay's Christmas list.
Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
I was just like, Wow, it's wrong with this guy. Yeah,
and you.
Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
Know what I realized, you know, you know what the
answer is is because you all the producers and editors
are the people that make Fox Sports go behind the scenes,
won't let him in the fantasy league.
Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
And I just have to say, good on you, good
on you.
Speaker 4 (01:20:59):
If it makes VJs any better, I'm not in the
fantasy league either, you know what.
Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
But it doesn't though it doesn't because I thought, I thought,
you know, we all been growing, man. You know what
I'm saying that the man love is so heavy here now,
and I just thought we just I'm I'm I'm thinking
I'm included in on everything.
Speaker 5 (01:21:15):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
Like if if someone has a cookout here and I
don't know about it, I'm gonna be pissed. I'm gonna
let y'all know that right now that I wasn't told
about the cookout. Why didn't you tell VJ? How would
you not want my fund self? Well not not to
make this more awkward? Did you know about Rob Parker's
party the other the other Yeah, I know about it.
Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Just about Rob. Listen, one thing about RP.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
He text me there's nothing he does that's social that
I don't get a text message about so I know
everything that he does, and he text me, hey, buddy,
just wanted to invite you.
Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
I know you have your kids. I know you got
other things going on right now, but such and such.
Speaker 4 (01:21:49):
And I just want to clear the base because me
and Martin were there, and I just wanted to make
sure you win.
Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
Chris, Chris was there, I was there, Covino with their
Rich spot.
Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
Yeah, Morris in the Flesh. It was great. Oh that's all. Well, see,
I like see, I liked that even though I wasn't there.
Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
I like the fact that all you guys from here
Fox Sports Radio went to support him when he performed
at the UH at the Comedy Club, at the Comedy
Store and did his debut night. Myself, Scott Shapiro, Monty Bilanos, like,
there was a lot of us that were there for
that too. So that's good that it's split up and
now you guys went to that went to something else. Yeah,
but about the Fantasy League, Yeah, yeah, that's okay. Baby
(01:22:30):
off off the VJ, the Uncle VJ, Santa Claus list
off and I had some really good cards that I
was gonna give out this year.
Speaker 1 (01:22:36):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, there's some stuff around here.
Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
This is just for the producer stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
How can they live with yourself?
Speaker 2 (01:22:42):
How can you live with You're cutting out the opportunity
to give one to these cards with VJ, I couldn't
deliver with yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:22:47):
I'm telling you, man, my feelings were hurt. I'm not
gonna lie, like my feelings are, you know, slightly hurt.
But it's okay, slightly hurt. What do you mean you
just yelled at everybody how.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
You were are like, yes, I'm in my feeling and
therapy hast taught me that I'm allowed to be in
my feelings this year, that I'm in my feelings?
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
Is that okay with you? Christopher Man, I'm just I'm
just clowning, man, I just listen.
Speaker 3 (01:23:10):
I just want to be I just like being part
of fantasy leagues with people that I know. I do
so many random ones online. So whenever I get enough
of them.
Speaker 1 (01:23:18):
What like thirty seven of them thirty thirty one this year?
Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Yeah, yeah, I know, but most of these leagues, I
don't know anybody in the league, Guys. I pick a
lot of random leagues to do so to be in
the league. Like when we did the bracket thing here, dude,
I woke up and check the I walk up every morning,
well every morning after the games were played, and checked
to see where everybody was where, you know, the shifting
and movement of first place, second plays and all that stuff.
I was really into, especially with the guys that I
(01:23:41):
talk sports when it work with. That's all man. So
but it's cool. You guys don't want me in it,
don't want me to be part of it, don't want
to be my friend.
Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Just oh, why don't you just start yourself? So I
started started talently. Get Steve Hartman, Carrie Rhodes.
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
You sure you'll do it? Why not?
Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
Okay, bet done, It'll be done tonight. Done, Thank you,
thank you. I appreciate that there's enough.
Speaker 1 (01:24:04):
People here out a ten team or twelve team, I said,
one of these leagues. I'll send it around.
Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
I'll even send it to Chris and to Brandon if
they would like to get into two.
Speaker 1 (01:24:14):
We don't discriminate my leaks. No discrimination in DJs. How
about that? All can play? Yeah? All could play?
Speaker 3 (01:24:21):
Really quit Jacksonville just to bounce back to them because
you said a lot of weird things happen for them
and I agree with you their their season felt a
little weird, but when you do go back and you
do look at the production they did as a team
finish in the top thirteen and three different categories. That
was points four points against in total offense. They were
ninth in the league in that twelfth and thirteenth another
(01:24:41):
two categories, So there's three aspects of their team where
they're in the top half of the league. That's why
I'm picking them to improve on that also too, man
Doug Peterson, I love that guy, and last year he's
you know, they had, they had that little stinch they
had to wipe away from the year before. Takes a
year to get your quarterback going, get this system, get
the energy, get the flavor, get the taste of what's
(01:25:02):
going on around there. I expect a nice year from them.
I like eleven or twelve wins because I just need
their division so bad. But Trevor Lawrence is still supposed
to be the prodigy child, right. I think we might
see it this year. That's been the story.
Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
Everybody's like, you know, Peyton Manning threw more interceptions and
touchdowns than his year.
Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
Trevor Lawrence didn't even have a rookie year because Irvin
Meyer was his head coach.
Speaker 3 (01:25:24):
Well, you know, there is some validity to that. That
was that Come on, man, that was that was a mess.
That was a mess. And you got a young quarterback.
It's like when Dolphins had Flores and for Tua it
was it was a mess. You gotta have a good stable,
you know, thing going when you get a rookie quarterback.
And in my opinion, you.
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Love to bring up that Brian Flores to a thing
like there wasn't like massive investigations about Steven Ross saying
don't go win football games.
Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Listen, I am not a Steven Ross fan, so I'm
with you on that, but I'm not. I don't like
our owner, I'll put I put that out there before.
I'm not a big Steven Ross guy at all. I
want them to sell the team.
Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
I failed many exams and the Steven Emerald School of
Business at university.
Speaker 1 (01:26:03):
Oh yeah, that's right, that's right. He's from Michigan.
Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
Is that the name of the school of business there
is the Steven m Ross Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
Wow, I didn't make it up. Big money AFC North, Yes, sir,
who you got AFC North?
Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
God? I okay, So I'll just do it now. I know.
Speaker 3 (01:26:21):
I know because because I want to do a little
more research on this division. But my heart is telling
me Pittsburgh. My heart, in my brain and my football
the gods are telling me it's Pittsburgh. Something happens with
one of these other teams that we're so high on,
whether it's gonna be Cleveland or it's gonna be the
(01:26:42):
Ravens or even Cincinnati. This calf thing that I don't
think Martin is a big thing, but it could. It
could be something. We don't know what it is just yet.
Chase miss time last year. He's been hurt before. We
don't know if this offensive line has been completely cured
and fixed that was getting Joe Burrow sacked in and
putting him under so much pressure the last two years.
(01:27:02):
I just think one of these other three teams other
than Pittsburgh has this fall off year. We just don't
see it come. If Lamar goes down, there goes Baltimore.
But Pittsburgh with Pickens, with Pickett, Nase Harris, TJ. Watts back,
Mika Fitzpatrick is an All Pro first team safety and
Mike Tomlin just doesn't have losing years. And I just
(01:27:23):
they're due four twelve thirteen year. They have these runs before,
even when Big Ben was there, they've had these runs
of all ten and six or nine and seven, these
and then they pop you with the twelve and four
and they pop you with the thirteen and three. I
think that's the type of year that they could be having.
I'm not sure what's going on in Cleveland, Martin. I
wanted to work out, but it just feels like there's
(01:27:45):
something missing there. There's something happening there that we're gonna
find out about as the year goes on. Could be
the defense, even though I love the running game, love
the offensive line and some of the skill position players. Cincinnati,
you know, three and one again the Chiefs back to
back AFC championship games. But I don't know, Man, that
calf and some of the other injuries they've had before
(01:28:07):
kind of worry me about them. And then, of course,
like I said, I just think Pittsburgh that's the team
I think no one is talking about that can win
the division. You think Seattle was Seattle for you for
me is going to be the Pittsburgh Steelers. I like
him at twelve and five to win this division.
Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
Yeah, I don't think Pittsburgh will win the division, but
I do think they'll be much more competitive than they
were last year. I think would you see how the
second half of the season out of Pittsburgh would be
more indicative of the rest of the of the this
upcoming season.
Speaker 1 (01:28:33):
Yeah, t J.
Speaker 2 (01:28:34):
Wacker I hurt last year. I don't think he'll be
hurt again, saying former defensive Player of the Year, and
when he's on his best, he's for sure a Tier
one pass rusher and just defensive impact type player. Pickens,
we've seen George Pickens didn't have I had a weird
(01:28:55):
career at Georgia, right, different things, but like when he
was on the field, Oh my goodness, this town's undeniable,
and I think we're seeing a lot of that coming
out of training camp. If there's anything out of training
camp that's been the it's been George Pickens versus Joey
Porter Junior. Killing that's been Oh, it's been a lot
of OPI it's been a.
Speaker 1 (01:29:15):
Lot of but okay, all right, you think okay, yeah,
I mean Joey Porter Junior could play.
Speaker 3 (01:29:21):
Yeah, he can play, but he I think he's got
a I think he's got just a better man kind
of giving it to him and giving him the rookie
treatment in training camp right now, I do.
Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
It just was popping into my head. Nothing to do
with the anc North. Did you see that, Drake Kilpatrick junior.
Absolutely just committed to Alabama.
Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
Absolutely, it's Saban's first worth the calling legacy signing, which
means a player he coached and then now gets his son. Absolutely,
I sure did see it this morning.
Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
Drake or Patrick and I graduated from high school in
the same year. I could not imagine having a child
that is like going to play college football right now.
I could imagine having a dog are a plan for real,
not much as a child that's about to go play
college football. Or on the topic of juniors, Draker Pact
junior gngradulations to you on Alabama committed to Alabama. That
(01:30:10):
picture with him senior saving junior year and I assume mom,
that was it. Nick Sabe has got to be sitting
back like like Danny Glover and Leath the weapon. I'm
getting too old for.
Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
Them to get to it. But I'll tell you this,
though he'll be a first or a second round pick.
Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
It's in his DNA. Man, that's that's for sure. I've
seen the ive seen him play high school. That kid
is legit. But once again, when your dad's legit like
that and you just suck you you just soak it
in and you suck it up, you're gonna be the
same way, the same way. First time I looked at
certain junior. When I looked at certain junior, I said, yeah,
he hung around that like football. Dad put it in
his hand, and that was good. This is what you're
gonna do for life, son, like it, like it or not.
(01:30:47):
For some dads, this is what you're gonna do. And
you see how great he is as a pronoun.
Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
So and this year I think he will be the
best cornerback in the league. But that's in the division
and we'll talk about them in just a minute. But
no AFC North right now. I think it goes through Cincinnati.
I don't think that's an incredibly hot take either. I
can well, you know it goes through Cincinnati. I think
you'll see Baltimore coming in second there. And I think
(01:31:11):
the team that you're concerned about there, the team that
falls down is going to be the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 1 (01:31:16):
I think that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
I mean, look, I never liked the idea that you
were signing to Shaun Watson to even if there was
nothing off the field, to the to the size and
the magnitude of the contract that he had, especially when
you consider in Houston. Look all types of troubles down
there in Houston, all types of just you know, and
he never really caught the blame for it because you
(01:31:39):
I mean, individually was incredible. But you gotta wonder how
long that can last. Again, you take, you know, essentially
two years off of football. He plays six games, and
it didn't look great in that six We'll see how
he looks after a month of training camps and and
and being a part of the team for the whole
team and having no legal issues over his head. We'll
see how that comes down. But to your point, I'm
(01:32:01):
not a big believer in Kevin Stefanski. I think if
you go back and look at the last five ten
coaches of the year, some of them stick. But like
there's a Matt Naggy in there too, you know what
I'm saying. I feel like, to me, I was looking
at it, I was like.
Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
Leave Matt alone. No, No, I'm not. I'm not.
Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
Because he tried to convince me that Trubisky was gonna
be it like I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (01:32:28):
He wasn't the only one.
Speaker 3 (01:32:29):
There was a lot of people that try to convince
us Trubisky was going to be it. He wasn't the
only one.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
Oh hell to Pittsburgh Deelers.
Speaker 2 (01:32:36):
And at the beginning of this, no, they weren't trying to,
but they gave pick It a little bit more time
than I would have been comfortable doing. It's like, Yo,
we got a guy probably better than you right now, Mitchell,
time for you to go, Mitchell Mitchell. Yeah, Cincinnati I
think is a class of his division. Then Baltimore, then Pittsburgh.
I do think that if there is a division that
gets three into the postseason, this is the one looking
(01:33:00):
at out of the AFC, because well, I mean I
think so.
Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
Then you think the Bills are the Jets because you
have Dolphins winning that division. So you think the Bills
of the Jets are not making the playoffs. Yes, one
of those teams do not make the playoffs. Yes, one
from the AFC West for you, just the Chiefs, Yes,
and then one from the South from you the Jags.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Bars Well, I think we might. You might can get two.
But again, if you get three. You might could get
two from the West. I think the Chargers could compete.
The Chargers will be when it's all said and done,
when you're watching TV week sixteen and it says he's
got you know you look, you got the they got
the divisions and everything lined up and all the players exactly,
they gonna be right there.
Speaker 1 (01:33:37):
And the in the hunt Buckers, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
But the really in the hunt, the top two or
three teams, Yeah, they'll they'll stretch it all the way.
Five and seven is in the hunt exactly I'm talking about.
That will be one of the teams that it's like, hey,
this is legitimate. They could actually be in here. If
Kansas City slips, I just don't think that's going to occur.
But I think they're AFC North if I have the
bet on one the one division to get more than
(01:34:00):
over two and a half playoff teams NBAFC North right here,
because I think Pittsburgh. Again to your point that you've
been making earlier, Mike Tomlin, there's a baseline there, John Hardmall,
there's a baseline there.
Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
Right, there's a baseline.
Speaker 2 (01:34:14):
We have never seen the implosion of these two guys
of these two teams. Injuries be damned, quarterback play be damned. Whatever.
Last year, Lamar Jackson's running out the tunnel Thursday night football,
guy drops the sign, says pay him. Not only does
he sign the sign, he gives it back to him
and it's like, Yo, yeah, pay me, bro. You know what,
(01:34:36):
I'm able to navigate all that to where Hell if
they punch it in and the post sheason instead of
fumbling on a one yard line, we might be looking
at Cincinnati entirely different.
Speaker 3 (01:34:47):
And then that's why I'm gonna go to seven of
our last nine Cincinnati, Buffalo, Baltimore, Pittsburgh twice, Minnesota, Case
Cleveland that I think can do Cincinnati, especially if they're
facing any type of injuries Nixon bruises and stuff like that.
At that point, it's seven to the last nine. You
talking about those two, those teams right there, Pittsbord' Twiice, Buffalo, Baltimore, Who, Minnesota, KC, Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (01:35:11):
That's tough. That's tough sledding seven of your last nine.
Speaker 2 (01:35:13):
We've had two winners so far that have taken home
a set of four brand new tires in our summer
at Tire Rex Sweepstakes. Congratulations go out to Anthony from Huntingberg,
Indiana and Nelson from Roswell, Georgia. And one last winner
is still up for grabs.
Speaker 1 (01:35:27):
It could be you.
Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
Our third winner will be picked next Sunday and win
a set of four tires plus installation, taxis and fees
batted up to fifteen hundred dollars under daily at Fox
Sports Radio dot Com. Every single day you can get
a fresh new entry and an additional chance to win,
and it's free to register to enter and get rules.
Vigeit Foxportsradio dot Com sponsored by tire rack dot Com.
If the way that tire buying should be, This I
(01:35:51):
think is probably the most intriguing division in the NFC.
Speaker 1 (01:35:56):
We'll get into that one next. Are we really gonna
see history? You be made?
Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Martin and VJ Fox Sports Radio Martin and VJ coming
to your line from the Tireck dot Com studios. VJ,
I can't wait to read this one. Football fans, the

this means. It just means we're here.
Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
We're here, man. We congratulations to everybody. We're here.
Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
It's been a long summer. The Yankees aren't any good,
you know what I'm saying, So we didn't have that
to talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
The Nuggets won the finals.
Speaker 3 (01:37:05):
The Nuggets won the finals, right exactly. Women's USA went
out around of sixteen, you name it.
Speaker 1 (01:37:12):
But you know what, we are back, baby? What are
we back for? Martin? What happened? What are we back for?
What's happening? Football? Get out of here? Are you serious,
I promise all football, high school college. No, what you mean?
How about high school?
Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
How about my Long Beach Polyage school I'm associated with.
Flew out the Hawaii Okay, you know what, quick little
sixty three to twenty one, win one and on the season.
Speaker 1 (01:37:39):
Bishop Gorman next Friday. Get it? Yeah? Where's the Gorman
game in Portland, Oregon? Part of the Nike Classic.
Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
I was about to say Portland they play an event. Okay,
so the Nike Classic. They'll be out there, Nike Classic.
Speaker 1 (01:37:50):
All right, there you go.
Speaker 3 (01:37:53):
Martin and I are both very deep into high school
football out here. I'll be calling games for Burmington Birmingham
excuse me, Birmingham Community Catholic Magnet School this year too.
So I'm excited for that man Division two City League
school man.
Speaker 1 (01:38:08):
So yes, high school football college bros Ah. All right,
I was just making sure you was talking about what
I was talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
As Curry four touchdowns, no interceptions against uh Commahea. I
think in Hawaii, Ezekiela Rosco two touchdowns, cool nine for
buck twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
Okay, running back Noodles, linebacker Noodles. This is the same guy,
because it's high school football. They played both ways. They
playing with everything, special teams everything, high school. Hell yeah,
two he had two touchdowns. I think that a quitch
for all six. Yeah yeah, there you go. All right,
cool Long Beach probably look out, man.
Speaker 1 (01:38:44):
I think Long Beach probably is going to be really
really good this year, really good this year. Back to
the heyday.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
I was going when Sammy Parker was playing receiver for
them and ended up playing for the Chiefs in the NFL.
When I lived in Long Beach. This is man, fifteen
sixteen years ago, when I was going in, when I
first started calling games, so when I lived down in
Long Beach.
Speaker 2 (01:39:03):
And the beautiful thing about high school football out here
is I mean, realistically, these are the kids that are
building colleges. Which is crazy to me that there's no
such thing as a Pac twelve anymore. Basically, all you
have to do where is recruit California. You probably would
have been fine.
Speaker 3 (01:39:19):
Yep, absolutely no. And I'm with you on that, man.
You go to somebody, you go to these games out here,
you ever walk the field. I like to get there
early when I'm calling the game, I get there early,
get my stuff up in the booths, get my stuff
set up, and then I walked back down onto the
field because I want to see some of these kids,
some of these kids. When you see a high school
seventeen year old that's six ' five and it's three
point thirty that plays tackle, it's like, okay, first of all,
(01:39:42):
what the hell are they feeding you? Where'd you come?
What lab did they make this kid? And then you
get up on them and you talk to and you
see it's it's a kid. He's seventeen years old. He
wants to go home and play.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
Fortnite after the game tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:39:54):
It's just and then they kick off and buckle the
chin straps to strap on the show to pass bro
and they get the going and it's like, yeah, he yeah,
I can see why, Saban, I can see why Savans here.
Speaker 1 (01:40:03):
Remember the first game, the first right, I can see why.
Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
Exactly the first game I went to this last year,
I walt down on the field walking the sidelines and
I saw a number eight for Long Beach Probably it
was like who is just who is that? Because he
is built like a like he's humongous, and it's like, oh,
that's Dalen Austin. He plays cornerback, Like wait, what and
then you watch him play and he's like, not only
he plays cornerback, he locked down half the field.
Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
Those are turning punts. You know, we'll probably be getting
playing time at Oregon this year.
Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
Now where Oregon will be, you know, the state will
probably be in the same place the conference. Who knows
he committed, He committed to the Pack twelve Port Oregon.
I don't know what Oregon he'll be at now, but
uh yeah no. So I'm excited for this football season, Yes,
I really truly am.
Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
Can't wait, man, I can't wait for the college to
kick off next week. You give me any more thoughts
to that, maybe Norder Dame twenty and a half you're
gonna go we rocking with that.
Speaker 1 (01:40:59):
I'm in.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
I'm going give me Navy with the twenty and a half.
I mean, because by the time we get in next week,
the game will.
Speaker 1 (01:41:05):
Be over right, you get it.
Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
Look, you're getting twenty points on day one of college football.
Speaker 1 (01:41:12):
I'll put it like flip with the other side.
Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
You expect the team to cover twenty points in their
first game.
Speaker 1 (01:41:18):
That's what I'm like.
Speaker 2 (01:41:19):
You know what I'm saying, Unless unless you're talking about Alabama.
Speaker 1 (01:41:23):
Against Sheboygan State.
Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
Yeah, of course, you know what, the Alabama, Georgia, Michigan,
Ohio State. One of these teams that is going to
be when it's all said and done, in the discussion.
And if they're not in the discussion, what a disaster
of this year was for you?
Speaker 1 (01:41:38):
Yep?
Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
Right, yeah, yeah, I think twenty twenty and a half.
You know what, why not.
Speaker 1 (01:41:45):
Let's do it. Let's do it.
Speaker 3 (01:41:46):
Man triple option, no preseason, no, no, no practice with
everybody else and stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:41:52):
It's it's gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:41:53):
Be hard away my friends, there we go anchors away.
I'm betting on the Navy, and I'm betting that Steve
Desager is going to have all the baseball scores and
hopefully some good news team.
Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
I'll let's do it, hey, Steve.
Speaker 7 (01:42:06):
By the way, that is a game in Doublin next Saturday,
the Notre Dame Navy opener. So it does start Pacific
time in the morning next.
Speaker 1 (01:42:12):
Seven, Yeah, like eight am is like six am or so.
Speaker 7 (01:42:15):
They're trying to put it in the regular Notre Dame
slot of eleven thirty Pacific because they have that kind
of power. But it will be a night game over there,
and then data.
Speaker 1 (01:42:23):
Yeah, so bout time we get in, the game will
be played.
Speaker 7 (01:42:25):
Yeah, and then there's an FS one game at seven
Eastern time. San Diego State's opener next Saturday against Ohio.
You we are that close to so called Week zero
college football. Well, Lebron James is at Dodgers Stadium tonight.
It's Lebron James bobblehead Night.
Speaker 1 (01:42:42):
I think you might get.
Speaker 7 (01:42:42):
One or two. Marlins are leading the Dodgers one nothing
on a first inning homer. Games now on the bottom
of the second. This is the second of a double header.
The opener of the Dodgers just flat out stole, had
no offense most of the day, and then got three
runs bottom of the eighth and beat Miami three to one.
The three Southern California ball clubs each had their games
for tomorrow rescheduled due to a tropical storm that's coming,
(01:43:03):
so they each have Saturday double headers. The Angels and
Anaheim beat Tampa Bay in game one seven to six
their scoreless bottom of the second of the nightcap, and
Arizona won at San Diego today six to four. Diamondbacks
lead the nightcap two nothing at San Diego. In the
bottom of the third, the Yankees have lost seven in
a row on FS one. Today, Boston ripped him in
New York, beating Garrett Cole eight to one. Cole went
(01:43:27):
four innings, allowed a grand slam and a two run homer.
Milwaukee dominated at Texas six to one. Toronto has just
won four to three at Cincinnati. In progress, the Mariners
are winning at Houston six ' to two in the
top of the eighth and the leadoff man for the
MS All star Julio Rodriguez, is four four five tonight,
sixteen minutes in its last four games. This is just ridiculous.
(01:43:50):
Through the NFL exhibitions. We already had road wins today
for Jacksonville in Miami. Pittsburgh's going to be two to
zero in the preseason after getting a win in bout
thirty seconds left. After their win tonight against Buffalo, It's
twenty seven to fifteen over the Bills. Now touchdown passes
for Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky. Meanwhile, three interceptions thrown.
Speaker 1 (01:44:11):
By the Bills Matt Barkley.
Speaker 7 (01:44:12):
Chicago Bears are leading with under ten minutes to go
at Indy seventeen thirteen. Nathan Peterman with a thirty five
yard touchdown pass. The Bucks lead at the Jets ten
to six late in the third quarter of play. A
couple of Greg zerline field goals for the Jets. Patrick
Mahomes did start for Kansas City. They have a halftime
lead at Arizona of seventeen to seven over two hundred
(01:44:34):
and sixty yards of offense. First half for the Chiefs.
Late first half at Green Bay, Packers are tied with
New England fourteen fourteen from Andre Stevenson four carries twenty
seven yards in a touchdown for the Patriots. Halftime at
Minnesota Vikings nine to seven over the Tennessee Titans. Malik
Willis started for Tennessee and has thrown an interception Denver.
(01:44:55):
At San Francisco tonight, it's Broncos sixty three late first half.
Rock Purty Star guarded for the forty nine Ers, went
four for five passing on the first drive for sixty
five yards. Late first quarter. In La, Raiders lead the
Rams seven to nothing. Jimmy Garoppolo with a touchdown drive
to open the game. He was four for four for
about forty yards passing the late game. We'll be having
(01:45:16):
the Seahawks host Dallas in about a half an hour,
Scottie Scheffler has tied for the one stroke lead at
the BMW. The Women's World Cup final is early Sunday morning,
England against Spain. Sweden won today's third place game two
nothing at Australia and USA men's basketball finishes its exhibition
schedule tomorrow on Fox TV noon Eastern Time against Germany,
(01:45:36):
and then they head to the phoebe At World Cup,
which starts in a week.
Speaker 2 (01:45:39):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and BJ coming to
you live from the tire rack dot Com studios without
further ado, Let's get my guy in here at Damar
J Morris MLB bro Content reporter.
Speaker 1 (01:45:51):
You see VJA.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
I was gonna ask him first, is it possible to
give up a Grand Slam at hitting to a triple
play and lose?
Speaker 1 (01:45:59):
But I don't want to pick on about the angels today.
I don't want to pick on you about the angels.
But how you doing speak on them?
Speaker 8 (01:46:05):
We don't got to speak on them no more.
Speaker 1 (01:46:06):
They're not going to speak on them anymore. Now, how
about that? Are you letting it?
Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
Are you letting them go? Because last week he wasn't
ready to let him go. It's Okay, hits a Colin Reynolds,
it's a rat.
Speaker 1 (01:46:16):
Hey. I saw a tweet and.
Speaker 2 (01:46:18):
Said, look, right now, the only only discussions of the
Anaheim is who's paying for the funeral.
Speaker 1 (01:46:22):
That's pretty much the way it went down.
Speaker 2 (01:46:24):
But man, I asked you about this team last week,
and all they've done, says then is win right now.
Julio Rodriguez, according to Mike Guy Steve the Sega, sixteen
hits in his last four games, seventeen hits in his
last four games. This guy's having a post All Star break.
He's been on fire. And the Mariners have been on
fire as well. Tell me, tell me I'm cashing this
(01:46:48):
future on them. Tell me I am please.
Speaker 8 (01:46:51):
Yeah, you're talking about the Mariners.
Speaker 1 (01:46:53):
Right, Yeah, the Mariners.
Speaker 8 (01:46:54):
Yeah, they're legit. And you mentioned Julio Rodriguez. I think
with his hits today it's seventeen hits. I think he
actually takes the lead for the most in a four
game span since nineteen oh one. In nineteen twenty five, jeez.
So yeah, he's on fire man, he's playing like a
mad man. They got a nice rotation Kirby Gilbert Castillo.
Wo yeah, I like that end they're playing their best
(01:47:15):
baseball at the right time. That's always the key. If
you get start playing your best baseball at the right time,
which is right now, carry that into the postseason that
they could make here of the wild card, anything could happen.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
We Man, DeMar J. Moore is always a pleasure talking
to you. How you doing today, brother, I'm good, I'm
doing good.
Speaker 8 (01:47:30):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
Let's jump to another player that's having a phenomenal season
with my beloved Rangers. Corey Seeger right now, man sitting
forth in batting twenty eighth and home runs twenty seventh.
Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
And RBIs he's having just a crazy, crazy year.
Speaker 3 (01:47:42):
Man, you text me something that inbox me something the
other day about his ops. It's just the historicness, to
the historical content, to the type of years. Having talk
to us more about secret why we're not hearing a
lot about Corey Seeger in the year he's having.
Speaker 1 (01:47:57):
Man, So help us out here.
Speaker 8 (01:47:58):
Yeah, man, Corey Seeger playing phenomenal right now on the
season twenty two homer seventy three RBIs with a three
forty four average, Like that's ridiculous. And with the ops
or the on base plugging percentage right now, it's at
one point zero six two and he has at least
four hundred played appearances. So if he could keep that up,
that'd be the greatest offensive season for a shortstop, you know,
statistical wise. So yeah, he's playing of outstanding. His on
(01:48:22):
base percentage is fourteen. I think that would be the
highest of his career. I'm not counting his rookie year
because his rookie year I think it was four to
twenty five, but he only had like ninety eight at
bats or something like that. Yeah, right, so this would
be the highest of his career.
Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
And yeah, what do you read the short stops currently
in Major league base offs? He s he the top three,
top five and just as quick as you can think
about it, best short stopping base where is he with shortstops?
Speaker 8 (01:48:45):
I'll definitely say top three.
Speaker 5 (01:48:46):
I mean it could easily be the best.
Speaker 8 (01:48:47):
You can make an argument for the best the top three.
You just look at the numbers. The numbers don't lie.
You've been doing it all season and you see the
impact he's had with this team, of course along with Simeon,
but the major turnaround from last year to this year.
Speaker 1 (01:48:58):
So yeah, now, demarje, I want to ask you about this.
Speaker 2 (01:49:03):
Tomor Jay Morris, MLB Bro Content reporter, get his work
at mlbbro dot com. Mason Win had his first hit
in a Major League Baseball game, and then Peter Alonso
took that ball and threw it as far as he
could for some reason. Did you see this?
Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
And like was it beef? Like? Like what? What? What
is going through Peter Alonzo's brain?
Speaker 2 (01:49:27):
Because like, how often, just in general, I watch a
lot of baseball, man, a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:49:31):
I know you watch more than I do.
Speaker 2 (01:49:33):
How often is the first basement just throwing the ball
to the second deck for no reason.
Speaker 8 (01:49:38):
I don't think it's a big deal though. It was
just a little brain fright. You know, they got a
lot of stuff going on in New York, so I
know his head, you know, probably all over the place.
But it's not a big deal. He sent him a
bottle from nineteen forty two and something else. I forgot
what else. He said sign.
Speaker 1 (01:49:51):
Yeah, which I'm like, why do I want a Peter
Alonzo signed back if I'm But anyway, he signed back.
Speaker 8 (01:49:59):
Back though the fan ended up giving it back, so
it all worked out.
Speaker 1 (01:50:02):
Good on you, fan boy.
Speaker 8 (01:50:04):
I don't think it was anything serious or person or anything.
You know, I believe it was just a brain heart.
Speaker 1 (01:50:08):
That's so hey, demarje, let's sing over here to the
West coast man.
Speaker 3 (01:50:11):
We're expecting tropical Storm Hillary to smack it to us tomorrow,
bring temperatures all the way down to seventy sixth gree
which I love our hand in La And talk about
the Dodgers. Remember when we were talking about the Dodgers
earlier in this year, we didn't know what was up
with him. They were ten and twelve or ten and eleven,
and everybody was going crazy and some people were like
relaxed guys, you know, got a wait for the year
to get going. And now they've just kind of put
(01:50:33):
the nail in the coffin in that division, in my opinion,
ten and a half game lead.
Speaker 1 (01:50:37):
None of the other teams are catching them.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
I know you like the Braves, and I know Martin
loves the Braves, but could I argue that, yeah, you
can love him right now, but when it comes down
to the playoffs, give me the Dodgers.
Speaker 8 (01:50:48):
I agree. I'm actually leaning more towards the Dodgers now.
That rotation was a concern earlier in the year, but
you see they've settled down a lot. Urius is pitching, Greave,
Bobby Miller's emerging. He's going to be a star, of course,
Kershaw Lance Lynn, He's going crazy. This dude had a
six point four to seven era with the White Sox.
Since you've been with the Dodgers one point four to fourth.
Speaker 1 (01:51:07):
Change the scenery, change.
Speaker 8 (01:51:09):
You winning, You're playing meaningful games, you know you're gonna
be in the postseason. And then come on, Freddy Freeman
and MOOKI. I mean that alone is a good reason,
you know, to say they could win it all. They
got a nice balanced line of good depth. They've made
all the right moves. Everybody that they brought over is
giving them good production. JD Kyk, Peralta Lynn, Heyward, Yarborough.
It goes on Rosario like it's crazy. They made all
(01:51:31):
the right moves.
Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
Now a team that made a ton of good moves
in their farm system. I feel like this they might
have the best future in baseball right now? Am I
tripping to say the Cincinnati Reds right now? You got
Ellie de la Cruz starting, Matt McClain started, Spencer Steer starting,
Christian and Carcion Strands starting all of them rookies just
call up their top prospect, Marte and I'm just one,
(01:51:54):
is this the team right now that we should be?
I mean this year, maybe not, Maybe they don't get
it done this year, but let's say three year out Look,
who looks better than Cincinnati.
Speaker 8 (01:52:06):
That's hey, you got a good argument right there, Cincinnati,
and not even you don't even got to look at
the farm system. Just look at the guys they got now,
look at the young core they got now, and you know,
the pitching and all that. Once they get Hunter greenback,
that was obviously a huge blow, huge law. So once
they get him back, and of course they still got
to work some things out because the era they haven't
been good at all. They're twenty sixth and team era,
(01:52:26):
I think the rotation's twenty eight, so they definitely they
have been better since the All Star break, though I'll
say that they were twenty seventh before the All Star Break.
There's sixteenth now, so they're still young, they're still learning, growing,
developing all that. They're definitely a team to look out
for in the future. A lot of upside and just
youth up and down that lineup. And like you guys said,
the Farm system as well, so it gonna be dangerous.
Speaker 1 (01:52:46):
De Marsh, I'm stay in that division.
Speaker 3 (01:52:47):
Demarjay from mlbbro dot Com content creator here with us
right now, Martin VJ Foxworts Radio on Fox for Saturday. Demarja,
Martin and I got a thing we've had going on
all year about the Brewers and the Rats. But convince
me and all all our listeners in illustrious fans right
now while we both might be looking stupid with these
Cubbies coming up kind of quick. I know it's the
three game lead that they're out behind the Brewers right now,
(01:53:09):
and the Rangers are helping that out the last two nights.
I want to talk about it, but I'm looking at
these Cubbies. I'm like, man, Martin and I might have
both missed on this one. They were both going to
lose this bet right here. Tell me about them Cubbies.
Speaker 8 (01:53:19):
Man offense is going crazy right now, Swanson, half Horner,
bellings it. I mean, these dudes is fifth in runs,
fifth in RBI third and Watts six and stolen bases
like on base percent is their fits. They're going crazy.
It doesn't look like Strowman to be back anytime soon.
So that's going to be a big loss. But justin
still Man, that dude's study. He's only giving up three
(01:53:40):
runs are fewer in four of his four straight starts.
He's giving up three runs are fewer and he has
five or more k than nine of his last eleven games.
So you got somebody like that anchoring the rotation, and
with the way the offense is going, the pitching can
be you know, the offense can cover for the pitching,
you know, yeah, yeah, to stay hot like this, you
know they can get yeah, they can get past that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:59):
And well, look, the offense may be covering for the Cubs,
but nobody covers baseball better at DEMARJ Moors from mlbbro
dot com. You can get his work at mlbbro dot com. Demarja,
thank you for joining us, my good friend.
Speaker 1 (01:54:13):
Appreciate you, Bro, Yes, I appreciate YouTube ro.
Speaker 2 (01:54:16):
Now, coming up next, Martin and VJ, we'll have the
progressive play of the day, and you know what, let's
go run through all those divisions and we'll name who's
gonna win them. There you go, you want to make
some money, listen to us go get that division future
Martin and VJ.
Speaker 1 (01:54:30):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:54:31):
Mahomes keeping his feet moving holding it now fires for
the inzel light cut touchdown Chansah City. Justin Watson s
Mahomes that Patton to just parallel run to the line of.
Speaker 1 (01:54:44):
Scrimmage and getting open in the red zone. Justin Watson,
Thank you to the Chiefs Radio Network for that.
Speaker 2 (01:54:51):

brought to you by Progressive Assurance.

Bundle and save at Progressive dot Com and VJ.
Speaker 1 (01:55:09):
I know that was a Patrick Mahomes touchdown right there, but.
Speaker 2 (01:55:12):
You know what, I would have loved to have heard
the radio call on that, Josh Allen Sack earlier today.
Did you guys see the video of this. I'm gonna
tweet it out. If I haven't yet, let me go
double check and make sure at Martin's out there somewhere.
And if you want to see VJ, it's at Husky
E and t on Twitter. Or is that the Big
Vanilla mins at big Vanilla funny. Now, okay, there you go.
My my apologies, But Josh Allen runs across the line
(01:55:37):
of scrimmage, and I'm pretty sure he tried. Like the
the vibe was he like ran across the line of
scrimmage and then ran back to the backfield and then
like started to look like to throw again. Yeah, and
I maybe he realized he was passing line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (01:55:55):
Maybe he didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:55:56):
Maybe he was just like, maybe I'm just gonna take
a sack and I try to turn the ball over,
because it would have been probably it was what I
would call a turnover worthy play. Even if he didn't
turn the ball over, it would have been worthy of
a turnover. A turnover could have it probably should have
happened in that instance. But it's the preseason. That's a
(01:56:20):
lot of running around. Josh Allen is breaking tackles, throwing
defensive line and left right center.
Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
And he took off quick.
Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
This is game two of it doesn't matter, right, we
have one more game. If it doesn't matter. Before it
does matter. Things to think about it's coming. I'm telling
you us to think about it's coming. I don't want
to put you know, injuries on people. I just would
running big quarterbacks. Eventually.
Speaker 3 (01:56:43):
I hated to see when it happened to camp I
hated when to see it happened to Donovan McNabb and
Dante Colepepper and just even Steve Young guys. Sooner or later,
he started getting knocked around. Why do you have to
retire guys because of the concussions Because he started to
get knocked around. Randall Cunningham started to get knocked around
running quarterback Eventually, especially when you're big, the hits pile
on and they pile up. And this just could be
(01:57:05):
the year, being that he got hurt last year and
was dinged up the year before, this could just be
the year where it's like, okay, here's now here's the
big injury, or here's the injury that keeps him out
three four, you know, five games cuz he's running taking
big hits.
Speaker 1 (01:57:20):
It it does.
Speaker 2 (01:57:21):
It's something that we seem to never really discuss, is
the durability. You know, we talk about it with a
lot of other players, but Josh Allen, oh, yeah, you
need to be upright for the Bills to have success
this year.
Speaker 3 (01:57:31):
Well, you hate the way he dives and leaps and
then you've always made a point.
Speaker 1 (01:57:35):
That's your thing. You just that's all ridiculous. He loves
leaping and flying through the air.
Speaker 3 (01:57:40):
But that was telling you one of these hits man,
they lose him. Season over. It's a bird, it's a play.
It's Josh Allen over the sun and over man.
Speaker 1 (01:57:48):
So yeah, division winners, I think.
Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
And I'll go Miami and the AFC East, Okay, plus
three hundred. I'll go Jacksonville in the AFHG South minus one,
Kansas City in the AFC West minus one sixty five,
Cincinnati AFC North Packers in the NFC North.
Speaker 1 (01:58:08):
Jordan Love gets you done.
Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
Lions wildcard all right, Cowboys in the NFC East with
Philly being a wildcard there. NFC South you're Atlanta Falcons,
and NFC West Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (01:58:22):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
Take it to the bank, Take it to the bank,
all right. I'll give you one taint time you can
put it all right for me. Give me the Dolphins
at a plus three hundred, give me the Bengals at
a plus one fifty. I'll take the Jags at a
minus one fifty five. Give me the Chiefs at a
minus one sixty five Philly minus one thirty five Vikings
(01:58:43):
plus two seventy five Seahawks at a plus one ninety five,
and my surprise team to possibly win that division in
the South the NFC South will be the Saints at
a plus one twenty. Just so you guys know, if
you do that as an eighteen parla and all you
had to do is put ten dollars down and that
just happens to cash in eleven thousand and ninety three dollars.
(01:59:07):
Your Yeah, even though I might change that Bengals to
to Steelers, I'm still kind of god man, I really
want to pick the Steelers, but I feel you on
the Bengals. I just feel like that what the Steelers
has is just might might be just a little bit
better from September to early Jane.
Speaker 2 (01:59:25):
It depends, because it's just the Bengals have lost a
lot in the defensive backfield. They lost they lost some
key players to safety. Now his name has escaped me.
If Jesse Bates is he's not gonna be there anymore.
He was a big player for them last year.
Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
It's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
There's a lot of teams at the AFC kind of
losing some of that back end talent, especially like Buffalo
lose some of that back end talent, Cincinnati losing some
of that back end talent. Kansas City just drafted a
bunch of guys because they were losing the back end
talent like Tyron Matthew and so on.
Speaker 1 (01:59:52):
So it's gonna be interested to see, especially in a.
Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
League with mad quarterbacks like the AFC NFC. Though, who's
the best quarterback NFC now, jenmen Hurts, I agree, Probably
it's hard to argue anyway, somebody else arguing next Martin
and VJ
