we said earlier, Man, the NFL is back. We kicked
off Thursday, but full slate of games tomorrow and just
looking at some of the matchups, what's your thoughts on
and what's your biggest matches? But I will say obviously
the Bengals at the Browns. I don't know why this
(01:31):
game is intriguing to me, but it is the Packers
that Bears, Dolphins at Chargers should be a really good game.
And obviously the Cowboys at the Giants.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Yeah, I think Week one for me, obviously it will
be that Monday Night one for me, right the Jets
and the Bills. Obviously, I have my connections with New
York and obviously, you know, wanting them to get off
to a good start. You have a tough schedule to start.
I think the first four games are going to be
really difficult, so you don't want to get behind the
eight ball going into the season with such high expectations.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
So definitely looking at that Jets Bills game. I'm also.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Light that Monday Night and then the other one I'm
looking at, you know, the Cowboy Giants is going to
be fun, but I'm looking at that Texans Ravens games.
I want to see how the Ravens come out of
the blocks with all the weapons and see how they
integrate all those people into that system. Got a lot
of playmakers now, so now you got to get those
guys the ball and keep them happy too. So you know,
it's one thing to get the weapons and get the
(02:34):
arsenal in there that you need, but it's also another
thing to keep them all happy. So I want to
see that. And also Demico Ryans, my former high school teammate,
he's a head coach in Houston now, so I want
to see what he does with those guys and get
them going out there as well. So just the intrigue
from that, you know, that perspective of seeing what he
does out there as well.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah, yeah, for me, obviously, everybody wants to, Oh man,
how is Aaron Rodd just gonna look with the Jets?
Anytime you bring a player of his caliber to that
type of team, I expect them to do great things.
That defense was top five, had a chance to make
it to the playoffs with in essence, not very good
(03:16):
quarterback play. Just the confidence that he's going to bring
knowing I'm the quarterback. You can't you can't even quantify
how the God doesn't matter, how the game going they
see eight back there, we got we got a chance?
And I also agree with you with the Ravens. How
(03:39):
are they it's integrating all the weapons? Yeah, how are
you gonna adjust to a completely new offense? Then you're
used to running like this is what you want? You
want to get out and throw the ball more? How
was that? How's that gonna take to lit? How is
Lamar gonna play in this type of system? Whereas pass first,
(04:02):
run second? Is he gonna sit in the pocket and
throw an anticipation? Let's try to keep the timing of
the offense first. Can he do that on a consistent basis?
So that part of it that interests me. The Dolphins
and Charges, I think is probably one of the best games,
(04:24):
just because I think both of these teams have a
chance to win a Super Bowl. Cantua stay healthy. Toront
Armstead isn't playing for the Dolphins. The Chargers have bookends
and boats and Khalil Mack that can put a ton
of pressure. Can Tua avoid the sack? And much was
(04:45):
made about the concussions that he had last year. Now,
your left tackle isn't playing and the Chargers have two
great pass rushers on the edge just so Cowboys giants.
Like you said, There's just so many teams and games
that I'm looking forward to watch him. But this is
why the NFL is so good, because you just don't know.
We can say, oh, this team is gonna be really
(05:07):
really good and they wet the bed, or a team
comes out of just completely comes out of nowhere. How
is brock perty gonna look with the Niners? How's can
he Pickett? Is he gonna take that step forward with
the Steelers. There's just so many variables that can go
into these games. We can speculate all we want until
(05:28):
we see the product on the field. Everybody thought the
Chiefs would run through the lines. We'll get in that
the next segment, but they did not. And so so
many matchups. But I really want to see, of all
things that I just talked about, Deshaun Watson. Can he
get back to the Deshaun Watson that we saw with
(05:50):
the Houston Texans that led the league in passing yards,
that got him that fully guaranteed contract. Can he be
that guy everybody's picking, or at least the Bengals one
of the teams that a lot of people are picking,
and go to the super Bowl and do very well.
But Cleveland is pretty much dominated the Bengals with Watson
(06:11):
and without them, they've done very well against the Mingos.
And so if Deshaun can get back to what he was,
this division is really gonna be up for grads because
there's just so many good teams and it's so such
a physical type of football that the AC North plays.
(06:33):
That if Deshaun Watson is Deshaun Watson that we saw
in Houston, then you got to add Cleveland to that
mix of teams that could possibly get to the super Bowl.
It's just so much going on and we speculate, but
we don't know. Injuries are such a huge part of
the game. That big injury happened. Your favorite team is
(06:56):
now no longer your favorite team to do X twyan z.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Right, No, it's platial plas with.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Us probably problyblems assume okay, no, no, no problem.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
So no, I think, uh yeah, Tej. I think that's
that's the crazy part about about the game, man, about
the NFL, man, everybody, especially coming into the season, right
even coming into the season, you know you can be
the worst team talent wise. You know, no expectations from
the outside looking in but all I mean always within.
I mean, we got guys that are dogs on every team.
(07:33):
Every team wants to come out and put their best
foot forward. You know, guys playing for contracts, guys playing
for other teams for them to be saying on other teams.
And so those guys are going to play hard and
have a chance to, you know, that first part of
the season to make a name for themselves as players,
individually and as a team. So you those guys are
going to come out firing on all ends. So it's
(07:53):
going to be exciting. Everybody's nervous for that first game,
ready to get out there and hit somebody else besides
besides themselves in practice and training camp. So it just
makes it. It just makes a beautiful brand of football, man,
and I'm excited to see it. I think again, I mean,
everybody's talking about that the AFC North, but I think
the AFC East is just as tough. I mean, we're
(08:13):
not talking about the Patriots. We think the Patriots are done,
which I mean it looks like yeah, it looks like it, right, Yeah,
it looks like it. But there's you know, you still
they're gonna win some games. They may not you know,
they're probably not supposed to throughout the season, so they're
gonna play a factor in this thing as well. And
so I just think the AFC East is going to
be tough, and you know, it's gonna be fun to
see who can come out of out of it. It's
(08:33):
gonna be a war of nutrition.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
For sure. Let me let me ask you this, Carrie. Yeah,
your first game did you play like, were you playing
your first game ever in the league?
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yeah, I started from day one.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, okay, how did you yourself approach that your first
game week one? How did you approach that?
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Well? It was?
Speaker 4 (08:53):
It was It was funny and unique because yeah, I
started and I started day one. You know, I kind
of played the preseason and obviously killed in the preseason.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Right, I'm like, oh this is easy, you.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
I'm like this this is I'm like, this is the
league all right?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Cool?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Bet bet, and you know, play well. I had, like
I lay at the league.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
I led the preseason interception I had three or something
like that, picked off Jeff Garcia, Like just all these
things that were happening. I was like, oh, this is
this is this is cool, this is fun. You know,
you get ready for week one. You're you're preparing, You're
getting ready, and obviously didn't know how to prepare the
way I started to prepare as I you know, gained
experience and understood how you know, how intricate and how
(09:37):
essential it is to be a student of the game.
But you know, you go into week one, we go
into Arrowhead. We're playing Kenni City Chiefs, and at that time,
I mean that's when they were humming the whole all
of them, the whole offensive line, Pro Bowlers. You had
Trent Green, you had Priest Holmes, you had Larry Johnson,
you had Dante Hall, you had Tony Guns. I'm I mean,
(10:00):
like legit, and it's a Narrowhead and I'm playing Tony Gonzalez.
That's you know, that's pretty much my matchup that game.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Man.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Let me tell you, I got humble real quick. I
got Humble real quick.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Man.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
It was they were coming downhill fast, running that stretch,
running that zone stretch, play action off of that, and
I was just like, man, I can't I don't know
what I'm looking at.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Coach.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
And I remember after the game, I play, I mean,
I let the team in tackles. I played fine, but
just the impact wasn't the same. And I remember talking
to my defensive coach at the time. I was like,
oh cause I missed a few tackles here and he's like,
I was like, Coach, I swear I can get this done.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
I'm your guy. Like I'm thinking I'm gonna lose my.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Job's that's how it feels because you don't know what
to expect. He looked at me, He's like, Carrie, you're good,
You're fine. And so just that reassurance got me, got
me back on track. You know, made All Rookie team
as a rookie, then the next year made All Pro,
you know, admitting All Pro my second year. So just
the evolution of that and see in it live so
(11:01):
different than once and until you get in it, you
don't know what that is.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Plex give me, give me your week one matchups you're
excited about, and then touch on how'd you get ready
and how were you feeling handed into your first game
when you get drafted?
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Wow, man, it was such a it was a surreal feeling.
I mean, here I am. You know, you're a kid,
and you you're wanting to, you know, make a splash
and come in and you you're living a dream. And
you know, my first pieces in the game was it
was easter Dallas Cowboys. You're talking about Prime, Michael Irvin,
(11:46):
emmittt Smith, Troy Man. And I'm sitting there on the
sideline as a star spangled bantle you and I'm saying
to myself, I like, I cannot believe that I'm here.
And I'm staying across the side and I'm like, yo,
I'm get me to play against Deon Sanders. And it
was just so I gotta get this out of my mind.
(12:07):
I gotta go play football. And I'm like, man, that's
em miss Smith.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
You know what I mean. I was only in college
for two years, man, so I'm basics of a baby.
I don't watch these did kids through the nine to
these catch through the nineties, win three World championships. And
here i am on my first you know, preseason game.
Throw me the ball, I jump up, I make the
catch over a Prime and I'm like, what a minute, man,
(12:36):
this ain't nothing but some football. After that play, man,
it gave me so much confidence to catch the ball
on Prime, and I was like, you know what, everybody
out here, this football players and the name on the
back didn't matter. And you know, I just kept going
and kept playing.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
And then you know, just like you said, first preseason game,
ball out and then I run into Sam Madison and
passed her to Ain't In week two, it was like,
wait a minute, you go from them. I go from
Prime to Sam and Pats like weeks and they was
and Sam was dark.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
They were press man all games all day long.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
And they played like we call like a forty four
cho It was like the the safety was playing like
in a quarters position and the corners will bump you
inside because they will protect the safeties from the run game.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
He was blocking down the safety. Everything you had to do,
you had to take an outside release and there was
no going inside because it was just a heavy inside
And I didn't catch a ball that game because I
didn't catch a ball and I was on the side like, man,
I don't know if I really got it, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 5 (13:47):
These cats you see them on TV. Until you get
out there, You're like, that's a different story. So you know,
play those first two pieces in games. And then week
one we're talking about three Rivers stadium. Only think I
never even played in three Rivers. Yeah, three Rivers open
the day two thousand Baltimore Ravens Opening Day, and I
(14:11):
will never forget.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
This as long as I live. My mom's dead. It's like,
it's like a beautiful day. I'm like, oh man, it's
opening day.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
And then lead my whole family there, and you know,
you're playing the preseason, you know, a couple plays or
two series or two, and I remember getting to the
line of scrimmage and they hiked the football and I say,
what just happened?
Speaker 1 (14:36):
The game was so fast, I said, oh my, I said,
what just happened? And I realized that there was a
whole different speed and a whole damp tempo from the
preseason to the regular season. But not on top of that,
the two thousand Baltimore Ravens, Man, they shut us out
sixteen to zero. That's how this defense was.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
And I remember saying to myself, I'm sitting in the hall,
I'm like, man, these dudes out here are hitting entirely
too hard. Man, I should have played basketball. I'm in
a huddle like I'm discouraged. I can't get open. Baltimore
Ray is on a tail. They hitting everything moving. And
now I'm twenty years old, man, I don't know what's
going on, and man, they shut us out, and you're
(15:25):
talking about a humbling opening day, not being able to
you know, I caught a four or five balls, like
seventy yards, but we just got dominated, man from front
to back. And I think that's one of the reasons why,
you know, moving forward, it playing in the AFC North
and playing against those defenses, it kind of it made
(15:48):
it easier the older I got, because there weren't too
many defenses better in the AFC you know, North at
that time. I mean, since that is pretty good, they
still had to keep and some of those guys on defense.
So yeah, man, it was a whirl win full the
first pieces and game to the regular season.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Yeah, man, don't I'm not gonna lie. I don't remember
mine because the preseason I did very well, but I
knew I wasn't playing that first game, so it was
just like, what is that to remember? Yeah, so three
completely different stories. I mean, I did very well in
the preseason, but that regular season came. My mom, I
don't recall, but I'm almost certain you know, you're walking
(16:28):
in the locker room, you don't see that jersey on
them shoulder pats you're like, oh, I ain't playing, so
I believe I was inactive, but I don't. I don't
even remember.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
J what was your rookie year one one? A year
after Black Loca.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Yeah it was. We started off, I know with the Bengals,
we started off very well, and I think we're like
two and o or yeah, and went four and twelve.
Yeah it was. I mean it was so many stories.
I can tell that people think I'm making them up
and them things would be true. They'd like, no way
this was going on. Yes, it was. Well, we'll talk

(18:10):
Up on Game live from a tirerack dot com studios.
I'm TJ. Houshmas out alongside mister Burris and mister rhodes Man.
We haven't we touched on it and we kind of
talked about it, but we didn't discuss this. What what
are what are your reactions to the Lions beating the
(18:33):
Chiefs And just so you know, we do a segment
called up on game down on game which we will
get to later, and yours truly chose the Lions, so
I'm not surprised.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
What say y'all, Oh man, don't sit there, jump up
the window and say you you ride with the Lions, now.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I thought they would win me.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Come on, man, I know nobody really expected to beat
nobody really expected the lines to beat the Kansas the
city she's made.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
You want me to forward you a text message that
I sent? Absolutely not. I didn't ask you for that. Hey,
without ninety five go a man, I'm gonna let you talk.
I'm sorry. I'm still picking with my my division winner
for the NFC Noises, which I chose Chicago Bears, and
I'm sticking with it. And I'm taking the Chicago Bears.
I'm taking the exponential jump of quarterbacking of Justin Field
(19:30):
for him to get to that elite level. Stop it.
I'm going with the Chicago Bears. But nobody really expected
their lines to go into Kansas City and beat them
in Kansas City. I mean, come on, man, let's be honest.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
Okay, I give you this much credit that the Detroit
lines are not the old Detroit lines. And I just
happened to be with Jalen Rose, man Jalen Rose on Thursday, watching.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
The game with him, and you know him.
Speaker 5 (19:59):
He's from Detroit, so he's been in agony for the
last forty plus years of his life because he's been
a diehard Lions fan and it's finally given him. In
those Detroit Lion fans in the city of Detroit and
the state of Michigan, some hope that the Lions can
actually win a game on Thanksgiving. They have an opportunity
(20:22):
to win a game.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Because they've been grandfathered in forever and they just haven't
been able to really, you know, get over the hump
for a very long time. But it's a good it's
a good win for them. I think that you know,
they're going to continue to build off it. But the
question yourself, are the Chiefs that bad uh of a
(20:49):
team ager without Travis Coucy. Listen, they ran the ball
up the pretty much up the ey gap where Chris
Jones supposed to be untouched for touchdowns. So that tells
you right there how how important Chris Jones is to
that defense. I besically got him on the phone right
now trying to figure this thing out and get them
implemented back into this defense, because I mean, they've just
(21:11):
ran ran the ball pretty much down the throats, But offensively,
I think Detroit still has a ways to go. U
Is it the Lions that much improved of a football
team or are the Kansas City Chiefs on the downward spiral? Uh?
And then are not that good without Chris Jones and
(21:31):
Travis Kelce.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
I think the story here is Detroit Black. So I think,
you know, Kansas City, They've had duds throughout the seasons
and even in Super Bowl years. So I mean we've
seen this before. We've had questions during the season about
Kansas City, you know, in season, So I don't think
that's new. I think what is new, though, is the approach,
the mentality that the Lions have, right. I mean there
(21:54):
was moments in that game where the old Lions would
have definitely folded and would not have been in that fight, right,
So I think that's the story, just to fight. The competitiveness,
the readiness that and the confidence that Detroit has. I
think they are really believing in themselves and believing the
sauce and Dan Campbell's giving them, giving them a love
of confidence they've never had before. And I mean that
(22:18):
was very apparent for me because I saw somebody celebrating
after the game who doesn't show much, you know, doesn't
show much of that during you know, any of his
time or his career otherwise. Right, that was Jared Goff,
even though he didn't have like crazy numbers or anything
like the control and the emotion and the attentiveness that
(22:39):
he had in that game and their rapport with his players,
it was a telling sign for me. I mean after
the game, he took the knee and he kind of celebrated,
and they're like little fitsbal I've never seen golf celebrate.
So the fact that they're kind of you know, they're
intently moving forward with a swagger in the confidence was
it was to tell and tale for me. I think
(22:59):
they're to be ready in a force to be reckon
with this year.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
See, it didn't I wasn't surprised. I wasn't surprised. I
felt the game would be close. Yeah, but the fact
that the Lions won didn't surprise me. When it was
announced that Kelsey wasn't gonna play, I knew right away
Detroit was gonna win the game because Patrick Mahomes is
(23:25):
throwing to a bunch of inexperienced guys. That's what we saw.
Outside of Valdez Scatling, who has played a lot of
football at the receiver position for the Chiefs, you can't
name it in ninety five. Chris Jones not in the
middle of that defense. He is so important. He's single
(23:49):
handedly won games for him last year in the playoffs,
single handedly. He was that dominant. And so I felt
like Detroit would implement we're gonna run the ball, We're
gonna try to slow the game down, We're gonna limit
their possessions offensively. They didn't even need to do that
because without Kelsey, what are you trying to limit? Like,
Kansas City has a problem on her hands. Even when
(24:09):
Kelsey comes back, now, their receivers aren't gonna drop that
many balls. Again, it is just not gonna happen. But
when Kelsey comes back, if you take him out of
the game, will Patrick Mahomes develop the Aaron Rodgers is,
I don't trust anybody but Kelsey like he did with
(24:30):
Devontae Adams. Will he now become that guy? Like Will
he lose trust in these guys because of the performance
like cardis, I've never seen nothing like that before, just
easy balls and he was just dropping them. Will Patrick
Mahomes continue to trust him? That that's the key. But
(24:52):
it did not surprise me. When you have a player
of Chris Jones's caliber not playing, it's gonna show you
gonna suffer. Let Kansas City not sign him to a
deal and he sits out till we gate, they'll be
four and four and now they're gonna be fighting for
their playoff lives because the AFC is so stacked. Don't
(25:13):
let the Chargers play the way they should play. Now
you're looking and you're running and fighting up hill. That
that's not good. So the Chiefs better figure this out
or they're gonna be in a world of trouble.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
The crazy part was that he was in the suite
at the game, Like, was it was that weird? Or
was that what did you expect him to be at
the game? And what that was? That was something that
kind of took me back a little bit. What do
you think about that?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
I just thought it was he was supporting his guys.
He wants to be there. Yeah, he wants to be there, man,
Like he wants to be signed. He wants to be playing.
But like he said, I just want to raise That's
all he wants and he's earned it. And this is
the thing we've touched on this already in previous weeks.
(25:59):
If they say Holmes is underpaid and Kelsey is underpaid
and we trade Tyreek Hill. Where is money going? Who
y'all spending it on? I'm the single and you hate
to do this, but I'm a single most important player
we got on this defense. Can I not be compensated fairly? That?
(26:19):
That's all I want? Because these careers, our careers are
so short, and we know this. These contracts are one
sided because let me not play up to the level
of my contract. What happens, you get cut bye bye.
But when you play beyond your contract, they never say, hey,
(26:40):
you know what, man, you so underpaid. We just want
to pay you to what you what you've earned. They
never do that, but underperform see you. And so I
don't mind what he's doing because these careers are so short.
But they better figure this out. We gotta go to Ilo,
Isaac Low and KRN on trending. What do you have
(27:02):
for us?
Speaker 6 (27:03):
I love Fellas. We finally have points in Boulder and
they've been scored by number twenty two Colorado, which has
a ten to nothing lead over Nebraska with what aweight
left to play in the second quarter on a field
goal and then a thirty yard touchdown pass from Shador
Sanders to Tavarish Dawson so again. Colorado up ten nothing
over Nebraska, what aweight left to play in the second quarter.
(27:26):
Baylor a ten to three lead over twelfth ranked Utah
with forty five seconds left to play in the second quarter.
Number one Georgia a thirty one to nothing halftime lead
over Ball State. Fifth ranked Ohio State up twenty eight
to seven over Youngstown State. Marvin Harrison Junior a touchdown
reception of seventy one yards and then followed that with this.
(27:49):
Tomccord gets the snap, fakes a handoff back to pass
near the fifty a.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Cord plants to speed, guns it deep down the rightside.
Harrison in the end zone got it touchdown.
Speaker 7 (27:58):
Marvin Harrison a thirty nine yard strike he hauls in
from Kyle McCord, and the Buckeyes have scored twice through
the air.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
Paul keels the call on w BNS. Marvin Harrison Junior
seven catches for one hundred and sixty yards two touchdown receptions.
Seventh ranked Penn State a twenty eight to seven lead
over Delaware with one fifty four left to play in
the second quarter. The game between tenth ranked Notre Dame
and NC State is in a severe weather delay right now,
(28:29):
early in the second quarter with Notre Dame holding a
three ton thing lead. And it's a good reason they
did delay that game because lightning struck the stadium twice
during the delay, including one lightning strike that temporarily knocked
out the brand new video board at the stadium in Raleigh.
(28:52):
We also have plenty of NFL news today, the Washington
Commanders officially ruling out defensive end Chase Young for tomorrow's
season opener against Arizona because of a neck injury. The
Indianapolis Colts downgrading running back Zach Moss to doubtful for
tomorrow's game against Jacksonville because of a forearm injury. ATFL
Media reported that the New England Patriots signing Bailey Zappi
(29:14):
back to their fifty three man roster from their practice
squad and are releasing quarterback Matt corral Fellas back to.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
You and that's a good thing. They didn't let any
fans into that stadium. But the touch on when you
sit here al and talk about thet did they ever
think about that when the Pac twelve teams going to
the Big ten? Like what if you have a weather did,
like what happened to this? Like, like what you know?
Speaker 6 (29:42):
They only thought about one thing and that thing is
colored Greenen.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I love, I love. They're gonna be in a world
of hurt man when this thing kicks off and these
things start to happen. Yes, it's gonna be very very interesting. List.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
I'll get plenty of frequent flyer mileage.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
There you go. I love, We appreciate you, man, Nick Carry,
you started with the Jets, like we talked about earlier.
What excites you about Aaron Rodgers making his debut now,
tough debut Monday night, standalone game against a very good
Buffalo Bills team that is an essence underachieved but still
(30:21):
played very well. What excites you about this for the Jets?
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Yeah, I think it's just for the Jet fan base
in general. It's been it's been a decade since they've
been in the playoffs, and it's been pretty quiet.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Quiet.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
There a lot of turnoil, a lot of turnover, a
lot of duds of a season, right, and so now
you've finally got some expectations. You got a team that
you can really get behind and rooting, and you got
a guy a Hall of Fame quarterback who's won multiple
MVPs as your quarterback, and I know what their energy
feels like. I know in eight we had the same
situation happened when Brett Favre came right and I know
(30:56):
it didn't end well, but I remember the inner coming
into that season. Man, it was it was it was palpable,
and it was real. I mean, we had a really
good team. And you know the excitement that Jet fans have, man,
I mean, they really really bleed green. And so to
have a real opportunity to have a team, you know,
make some noise and potentially get to a super Bowl
(31:20):
type of team, then that's it's it's just exciting for
all of us, and me knowing Aaron, I mean, me
and Aaron came in the same draft, and you know,
good friend of mine. You know, he's hosted camps for
me and at the Kentucky Derby and stuff like that.
And so to see him feel refreshed and have a
chance to feel like, you know, he's in a situation
where he belongs. And I know he's made the you know,
(31:40):
the the claims of it being a dream for him
right now. It is a dream right now. But he
hasn't really tasted that media yet of things go sour.
So I just hope that things continue to go well
and he continues to be the leader that he's been,
because he's been He's been great there, man, and I've
seen it from you know, from Afar a little bit here.
But I'll be in the build than some this year
as well, and hopefully that's the excitement. Man. A team
(32:03):
that has a real chance and a real chance to
make some noise, and I'm excited to see him slinging around.
I call him rocket Man for a reason, and that's
that's what I'm expecting to see me.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
I just want to see offensively, how they look. I'm assuming,
like everybody else, when you have somebody that's that experienced
but also that good and great as a player, everybody's
going to step their game up to another level because
they know how he's going to play. Defensively, I have
(32:40):
no questions. Roberts Salakin coach defense. He's a defensive guy.
That side of the ball is fine. All their best
players are young, they're only going to get better. But
you're going against a Buffalo Bill's team that somewhat disappointed
(33:04):
their fan base and people just because they they haven't
gotten to the super Bowl when especially last year, many
people picked them right. But when Aaron Rodgers that standalone
Monday night game, I'm just looking to see how he performs.
(33:24):
He's going to be overly excited. Is as much as
a Vet as Aaron is. He's going to be excited
for this well TJ.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
You know that that they can be as old as
you want that first game, that excitement, that hype.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
But it's the way the fans have. I think they've
put in their arms around them so much to where
he wants to give them what they want to see,
and that's great football and a win. Can you stay
composed and not let that excitement get to you? We
would say yes, all the experience, but you just never know.
He's never experienced a situation like this before. It is
(34:01):
as long as he's been, he hasn't experienced your first
game in New York and so much the expectations, he
hasn't experienced this. I believe he'll keep his composure. Tough
game to choose, but I believe the Jets and what
they have defensively, who can be that guy outside of
(34:24):
Garrett Wilson, who's gonna step up and be that guy
outside of Garrett Wilson for me, will be key plex
Jets Bills Monday Night.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
What you're looking forward to, I mean obviously being here.
I mean it's gonna be electric AFC East Robbery. The
Bills are kind of flying on Larraedo with all the
hyper Aaron Rodgers doing the Jets. We've been talking about
it basically all season long. But I just can't count
the Buffalo Bills out for this game. You know, Von
(34:55):
Miller won't be playing. I think that's a big blow
for them, but going to get Michael Hyde back, and
I think the defense is a lot better than people
will give him credit for. And you know, coming in
with these expectations, Oh, Jessica, win a super Bowl and man,
if it was that easy, then more teams will be doing.
It's just not that easy.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
I mean, I understand who Anne Rodgers is and what
he brings to the team and all of those things,
but they're gonna be people acting like this team is
not going to go through any adversity. They just think
that every ball to Aaron Rodgers is gonna throw, it's
going to be it's going to be a catch and
why receivers are gonna are gonna drop him anything. You know,
they're not going to go through any any adversity. But
I think what Aaron will understand here when he plays
(35:38):
is that, Listen, you bought in all the expectations to
New York, to the Big Apple, but it also comes
a lot of shootiny and criticism with him. So he's
going to have to be able to deal with that.
And some of these some of those young players also
they never have to do really really deal with any adversity.
So I'm gonna just you know, sit back and you
(35:59):
know see how that part of the game, you know,
translate to the Jets when things aren't going well. But
it's definitely going to be a battle between it's a
two horse race. Well you can't count to Miami Dolphins,
but still people are looking at the Jets and the
Bills of one of these two to win the division.
I mean, I think I think it's a two main race.
(36:20):
Well yeah, and that's why the game of football is
what it is, and that's why we happy to have
it back. And can you believe it's been seven months

TJ will start with you.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Oh man, only minus four. I know this game one,
and I know Belichick is a guru. But I'm going
with the Eagles and the over.

H I got a good let me, I'm going with
the Eagles at other I really I'm going with Eagles.
Speaker 3 (40:01):

Speaker 10 (40:23):
All right, let's take a look here at the Titans
at the Saints. Derek Carr making his Saints debut. Saints
are favored here minus three on DraftKings sports book, the
over unders forty two plexico. And we'll start with you.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Over and is what forty two? I'm gonna take the
OVA and what was what was the points? Minus three? Saints.
I'm gonna take the Saints in the inn over I'm
gonna take go ahead, go ahead here, no, no, no,
you got it, you got it.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
I'm gonna take the Saints here. I'm gonna take them,
and that's gonna be an over.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
I'm gonna take this and I believe it will be
a defensive battle and go under.
Speaker 10 (41:04):
Oh all right here, Packers at Bears, Keith carry, you
can kick this one off. Bears are favored minus one
and a half over under forty one and a half.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the Packers still win
this game, So I'm gonna take the Packers and I'm
gonna take I'm gonna take the over here as well.
I think Joey Love is gonna play decent and get
the win. I know that's Plaque's Chicago team, but I
just don't. I don't see that happening.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Man. I'm going with the OV and I'm taking Chicago. Man,
I'm gonna take the Green Bay Packers. Yeah as well,
I am all right.
Speaker 10 (41:43):
One more here Raiders at Broncos Sean Payton's Denver debut
Broncos favored here minus three and a half over under
forty three and a half. TJ will start with you.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Man, it's a tough one. I don't know why the Broncos. Yeah,
Jimmy g a MA and practice and you know they locking,
Uh my man, channel Jones out the stadium and how much.
Just go with the Broncos man and hope Russell can
get it together. Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Broncos
and I'll take the over, man, I gotta go with
the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Man.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
I think Sean Payton is gonna have this office looking
light light years away from last year. But I'm taking
under on the points because I don't believe it's gonna
be a hogh scoring game.
Speaker 4 (42:26):
I'm gonna take the Broncos as well. I don't think
they're a good team, but I just don't think. I
don't think the Raiders will be ready at all. So
Broncos and the over Man.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
