Speaker 1 (01:37):
Plexico Burst.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
There's there's some interesting names on the injury list of quarterbacks.
There's a long laundry list, and then we'll get to
some some more quarterback This looks like a quarterback heavy
type of hour, but we will also talk a little
a little round ball with what's going on on, you know,
(02:00):
some things in the NBA and what could be connected
to that. So we'll bring our expert on Cuffs the Legend.
That's right, big time professional podcaster. He's got his deal
going on Some Dudes Show, Some Dudes Show, So make
sure you stay locked in for that.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Plex.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
The quarterbacks list is, as I mentioned, it's interesting, it's
a long one. You have Ryan Tannehill, you have Daniel Jones,
you have justin fields to you which one has the
largest impact on on the team. The Bears look to
(02:43):
have a big win without Justin Fields, which I thought
was interesting.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
We talked about Tennessee in the first hour.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
They don't look like a team that's going in the
right direction at all. And the Giants get a big
win and must need it win again against the Commanders.
What's your thought with I'm certain it's probably Daniel Jones,
But which one of you has the biggest implications of
them being out?
Speaker 5 (03:11):
You know what I gotta say, Daniel Jones is you
hit it right on the head. But I learned something
this week that was rather shocking to me. Oh that
my boy, Tyrod Taylor from Newport News, Virginia, was the
first African American quarterback to win a starting game for
(03:37):
the New York Giants. Oh wow, and a hundred years
of football. Wow, he's the only one twenty twenty three.
So congratulates to my boy for Tyrod Taylor for being
the first black quarterback to win the starting game for
the New York Giants. But this is what I will say.
(03:57):
I've been to the training camp and I'll be at
the game. Marl and field and you know, every everything
is you know, I'm looking at it and I'm saying
to myself, just like everybody else is. It just looks
like to me that, you know, Tyrod thirty four years old,
he's a veteran quarterback. He was a backup quarterback to
Josh Allen in Buffalo when Brian day Ball was the
(04:21):
offensive coordinator. So day Ball already knows what he brings
to the table as far as being that safety and
that just in case a situation, you know, a rose
right now with the starting quarterback being out in Daniel Jones,
He's very familiar with this offense, and it just looks
(04:43):
like to me that when he's in there, the offense
looks like it runs just a little more smoother than
when Daniel Jones is at the helm. Tyrod Taylor is
getting out of place making checks and some of these
balls that he's throwing down the field of Jalen Hide
and over the middle to Darren Waller, you know, he's
(05:07):
dropping these forty and fifty yard you know, fade balls
right in the pocket. I mean he's throwing it right
on talking to these guys, went down the side line,
and I can't say to myself that Jay and Jones
is that accurate and he can make those throws.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
You know.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
Just last week when he you know, he recognized the
mismatch in the three bout one with Darren Waller being
the number three wide receiver close the closest wide receiver
to the line of shimmers, he makes a throw up
the scene.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
This ball is probably about I.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Don't know, let's just say it's eight and a half
nine feet in the air, and he understands the personnel
and the throw that needs to be made with a
corner playing outside technique with a middle lineback up, you know,
trying to carry the scene and understanding where this ball
placement needs to be in it was perfect. I can't
(05:59):
say that Jones makes that same throw because we have
not seen him do that. And with Tyrod Taylor being
the veteran that he is thirty four years old, understanding
the system playing on the Brian Day ball, he just
looks like he's comfortable and the office is moment. It's methodical,
you know what. There's not these big losses of you know,
(06:20):
taking sacks. I think he got sacked twice last week,
which is an improvement from my office. A line because
I believe that we had the worst office A line
in football. I thought it was the Chicago Bears, but
we took over the number one spot as being the
worst office A line in football.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I said it and I mean it.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
And if your office alignment for the New York Giants,
when Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor walk on the in
the building on Monday, you should be giving him saying
I'm sorry, because guys are getting beat up in the pocket.
And I wouldn't want to play behind you either at all.
Who wants to be a quarterback behind his office a
(06:59):
line and you're just getting trounced on. You only got
three plays in a down four in the series and
you get your head tapped on, uh two or three times.
I don't want to be behind you guys either. You
shouldn't be saying I'm sorry when they come into building
on Monday.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
That is a shame.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
You know, I was going off, but be getting back
to Taylor like that. I just believe that, Uh you know,
he's one of the last two games.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
He went a third one tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Uh, you know against a Jets defense, which is you know,
we can say that their.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Top five outfit.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
There's going to be some you know, birds chirping in
the you know words going around in the city, which
everybody here is because it's the mecca, it's the media
capital the world. Is Tyl Rod Taylor a better fit,
you know, for this team in this home?
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Is that even? Is that even an option for beyond? Like,
it's not something for this here.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Not I'm not totally based on the contract in which
Daniel Jones has been afforded and given, it's not even
a possibility, which is sad and professional sports. When you
got forty million dollars, he's on the sideline. Hey, you
(08:23):
have a backup quarterback who's probably making one or two
million dollars a year and he goes.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Three and oh while you're out.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
So what can you do then, plex? I mean, what
if that's the situation where you got a high priced
guy on the sideline Because we're gonna get into this
a little later, Dang.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
You have to put them back in the game. That's
what that mean.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
But doing that, doesn't that mean that you're basically saying
we're okay with losing I'm okay with losing my job
just because we gave this guy.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
The money, and we gave him the job.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
You know what they're saying that they give them for
if the marriage. They gave them forty million dollars, they
put them back in there because in the worlds of
the great Bernie mac you know what it's saying, you
gotta learn, you gotta learn even though he may be
the best option for this team in the office to
win football games, but you got to put them back
(09:21):
in there solely based on the fact that you gave
them forty million.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Dollars a year. Well, I mean, the world.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Of professional sports, it just seems so so interesting. And
you know, we talked about Daniel Jones and what that
looks like. I mean, you you have two draft picks
and Tennessee that are going to get the opportunity seemingly
in a dual quarterback set while Tannehill is out, and
it's almost like it's an open competition in Tennessee to
(09:53):
see who's going to win that job there. And now
it's kind of like, all right, well, what does that
look like. I mean, you have a team, I guess
it would be the perfect time to do it. It's
a struggling team and they're looking for some answers. But
you know, are you able to find out what what
Malik Willis Is is really capable of doing, or you know,
(10:14):
even what will Levis is capable of doing. I like
will Levis obviously for personal reasons, but I thought he
was a fine quarterback at Kentucky and coming into you know,
the league, what does that look like? Does he get
ample enough opportunity? And for the fans that are are
of Malik Willis, do these guys get an ample opportunity
(10:36):
to be able to make a difference and and their
you know, kind of their statement or their argument to
be the main guy? And Ken Ken the biggest question
to me is can both of these guys play themselves
out of even being in consideration in the conversation of
being the starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans Moving ahead,
(10:58):
There's a lot of big questions out there to be
answered for some of these franchises and what's going on
with their quarterbacks. But I look at the Justin Fields situation.
That's intriguing because Justin Fields goes out. I think we
all know he has a lot of potential and can
bring a lot to the table if in the right situation.
(11:19):
But that has not seemed to be the right situation
for him in Chicago. But then lo and behold the
team has success in his absence. Will that continue? How
incriminating is that on what the discussion points are, on
what Justin Fields brings to the table. That will all
become clear as we continue. But we're gonna shift sports.
(11:40):
We're gonna go basketball. We're gonna talk to that some
dude show with Cuffs, the legend NBA insider and obviously
an expert, will bring him on next. We'll talk some
some basketball. That James Harden story. It's kind of interesting, man,
I'm interested to get Cuffs take on it.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
We'll also get to Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
We didn't talk about him in this segment well because
we figured we'll give him a whole segment.
Speaker 1 (12:07):

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Man? I see I heard y'all talking about the back
of jeans. Man, remember the four x T shirt back?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Oh yeah? Or actually down to your knees?
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah right, yeah man, the transador from your area.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Man.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Shout out to a man.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
Yeah, man, peace to ai man. He's doing big things.
And shout out to shack man be coming. I guess
the president of rebunk and then hiring Allen Uh to
be the vice president of Rebunk. Man, So shout out.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah, that's pretty all right.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Speaking of Philadelphia, let's let's let's make a dope move
to the city of brotherly Love.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Did y'all like that transition?
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Did y'all like that kind of fire?
Speaker 1 (14:44):
It's kind of like.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
I do this for a living a little bit, man,
But yeah, it was kind of fire.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Yeah right, okay, okay, cool.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
So let's jump in on it, right, Uh, James Harden,
what what's the latest with it?
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Comes?
Speaker 4 (14:56):
How do you see this playing out? How should it
play out? With James Harden in Philadelphia?
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Man, to be honest with you, At this point, I
am tired of James Harden. I'm tired of hearing about
James Harden. I'm just tired of all of it. Because
what do you want to do? We keep talking about
them over and over again. What do you want to do? James?
Do you want to play basketball this year? You know,
forget all the stats, for get all the analytics, to
get all the semantics, all the big words. Do you
(15:24):
want to play ball this year?
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Like?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Do you want to hoop this year? Because we saw
the game the other night in Milwaukee with the Bucks,
Dame and Joannis looking like they've been hooping together for
ten years. Man, So Philadelphia is not going to get
past those guys. I don't feel like even with James Harden,
so I feel like you saw how in Big look
at body language. He always kind of has bad bady language.
When he's losing, he start moping and pouting. He needs
(15:48):
to clean it up. But Joel is looking lonely. Tyree's
MAXI had thirty one. He's stepping up. But I don't
know what James want to do? Man, I really don't
like I just at this point, you either want to
play ball or just retire. That's what I feel like
with James. Like these young boys, man, these young boys
in this league are hungry. They coming for these positions
like SGA Shake Gilgers, Alexander another guy. He's coming for
(16:11):
that position, like the scoring titles, all that's coming. So
I feel like James Hardeners need to humble himself, put
his ego to the side. You're not twenty seventeen, twenty
eighteens hardened, You're not that guy from twenty eighteen. Do
you want to hoop?
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Man?
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Do you want to hoop?
Speaker 5 (16:26):
You know what, I don't think James you want to
play this shit matter because I just think his pride
and his ego is in the front of everything you
know right now, especially you know when he came out
and said Derrid Moore was a liar and I'm never
trusting him again and I'll never play for him again.
So on all accounts, when I hear that being said,
I don't think James is going to play because he's
(16:47):
just going to be just that stubborn. But be honest
with you, man, with a harden or without a harden
the Philadelphia seventy six is they're not going anywhere big,
no way, Like you said, man, Dame. That addition to
Dame man and Yannis what I've seen him do the
other night, first game, first game, thirty nine points, and
(17:10):
Yannis is looking at Dame like, Damn, I've never had
anybody to do.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Things like this.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
So can he can take the back seat on certain nights,
like we discussed last time we was on the air.
But man, they just look like so efficient. Dame can
dominate the game at any time that he wants, and
also can Yannis. So these teams are like more damn,
and who were gonna double? We can't double.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
I think what's gonna happen this year we're gonna see.
That's a great point, plaque. I think what we're gonna
see this year with Dame and Jannis, their chemistry. You
can see they already both are selfless guys, right, you
don't see that around the league, like this stuff. But
hard he's not selfless, He's not unselfish. Yanni's I got
to give him credit for being the global superstar and
allowing Dame to come in there and just be Dame.
(17:57):
Thirty nine points in the opening game, first home game,
and you know you want to be that guy where
like kind of like d Wade when he showed Broun
that love and Bron first came to Miami, he let
Bron rock out. They had certain moments where they was
kind of like taking turns, and I think that hurt
them that first year. But I think Dame and Yanna
is gonna learn from that Lebron and d Wade first
year where it's like, no, bro, come in here and
(18:19):
be yourself. And we saw that that first game thirty
nine points. So I think it's gonna be nights where
Yanna's gonna have it going, but his jump shot might
not be going to you know, far from the field
or shoot from outside. And when it was last two
or three minutes of close games, we know Dame can
shoot from anywhere. You got to come across half court
to check. Like as soon as he come across half court,
you got to pick him up. So Dame has that
(18:42):
range from the outside that's gonna allow Jannis to have
even more spacing for those driving lanes. And the bucks
Man they just look like a seasoned veteran team man.
Bobby Port is looking like he's looking like Harris Grant
without goggles out there like, Wow, I love Bobby, He's
done a whole rebringk and like station as a band
(19:02):
locker room guy. And you see Brook Lopez consent pro
I might want to make a change of heart on
my prediction. I know my spicy predictions. I picked the
Celtics in seven in the Eastern Conference Finals, Man, seven,
No way, I got the Celtics. I got the Celtics
in seven. I know DJ's not here today. Boosprinsab is
not here today to help me out right now, I'm
(19:22):
out numbers, but you earn out numbered.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
I don't start with this lab and we're going get
to that.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
So did you finish up with what you're saying? I'm
about to jump on that.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
You got it, But hey, I.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
Want to say something real quick about Milwaukee. Man, I've
always felt this, I've always said this, and it remains.
It remains supreme and championship culture. Un Selfishness at the
professional level is rare because everybody wants.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
To get there.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
You know, they look for this contract, everybody trying to
get that piece of bread. But when you put Dame
and Joannis together with those two talents being unselfish, that
is going to be the key factor to why these
guys gonna are going to win the World championship.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yeah, I agree back. I think I said it on
Twitter like I think it was yesterday that it might
not happen this year, which is it is a very
strong chance it will. But within these next one to
two years, next two to three years, Dame is getting
his rings, Like I think he is a basketball guys.
See the basketball guys, man, just like the football guys,
they reward certain people.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
All that's right because you was on the team, I
missed you, was there, I was there.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
How can you not say that in the football guys
and put you in them.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
You got a situation, was the right and walked away. God,
we're gonna got a ringing together.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
So cuffs.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
You are exactly right.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
But I didn't think Dame is poised. The basketball guys
they just show their favor on certain players, man, And
these basketball guys, they're not showing any favorite to James Hart,
James Harden.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
He made the basketball guys made sure they needn't even harden.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Her heart.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
They're gonna win it, man. I think Damon is gonna
figure it out in its first year. They're gonna I
want to change my pick so bad after just one
game watching them, the chemistry was different.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
You can't take it back because we got it on record.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
You said you and you said the Lakers five and
five like like with the five four five or what?
I want to understand? What can't ken? Can the Lakers
win without cause? You mentioned creating space when you were
talking about Dame and and Giannie and and and the Bucks.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
And having that perimeter game. I still gotta say, cuffs.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
I still do not see an adequate enough perimeter game early,
although early, but I just don't see a perimeter game
for the Lakers that will give an aging Lebron James
the space that he needs, or even create, you know,
the opportunities that could possibly exist by being able to
(22:25):
give Anthony Anthony Davis the mid range to the cup
type of opportunities. I just don't know that you could
keep up in the West if you don't have legitimate
three point shooting, perimeter shooting.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
What say you? You're right?
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Man?
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Like we saw last night with step exploded for forty one,
and you saw Chris Paul being a Mitro with the
twelve assists. I think Chris had ten and twelve. He
had twelve assists. People said that wouldn't work. We saw
that work. But with the Lakers, it's all gonna come down.
People put so much emphasis on Ad, right, we know
Ad has a history of being injured, we know it,
but so many people focused on a d. But this year,
(23:02):
I think it's going to come down to one guy,
and that is D'Angelo Russell. Man, this is the year
where we find out Zebra changes strikes. Because he's been
Angelo Russell every year.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
He talked to you already know the answer to that,
man change you know, Cheetah, I.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
Know, damn will you TJ and the whole entire Laker
nation included, are not hanging your damn hat on winning
the championship. If if Diezl Russell changes his stripes, That's what.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
I'm saying, and that's what happened has me, that's what
has me so apprehensive and nervous about it, because he's
been talking all summer about I want to be like
Jamal Murray was last year. We got to see it,
bro because I'm gonna say this like the nation knows this.
They are the masters of panic. We see him panicking
after the first game if he low Russell does not
(24:01):
bring it by the trading deadline. Man, he will be
in Chicago with the barmber jacket and look derosen Alex.
He's a Laker favorite. We would love to have you back,
Alex Russo I'm just putting in the atmosphere with all
the people. We're gonna put it in amage.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
We would love to have you back.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Huh yeah, Listen, I'm.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
Gonna I'm gonna go back to what you said, because
you said everybody is focusing on Anthony Davis, but he
is the focal point. You know, Lebron James can not
continue to play thirty five forty minutes a game that.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Time is I think he can? He's an alien plaque man.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Listen, zero points in the second half of that first game.
Everybody is waiting and looking to see when is Anthony
Davis going to be a consistent superstar.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
It was out out. I went to see when the
first injury takes place to be on out.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
How the hell you down seven feet and you laid
it down? Bull lay down basketball under the.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
In an altitude every day at that hype, he laid
the ball underneath the back board.
Speaker 5 (25:13):
I would do that, hey, before training all something for that.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Hey guys, before I go though, and we talk about
the Oklahoma City Thunder, I think he's borling for real.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Tell us they looked year.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Yeah they've meant to run. Yeah they almost got to
the playoffs, like they almost made it in. But this year,
I think they can be what the Sacramento Kings were
last year as far as lighting the beam and that
careersman having the crowd like Sda Gildas Alexander. He's gonna
probably compete for that scoring title. But Chet Hongram, people
forget he set out last year. He's gonna be probably
(25:49):
second or first. He's gonna have a chance to steal
the Rookie of the Year from Victor Women.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Y'all.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
I think because that Chet had shevn blocked last night
against the Cavs, like check Ram is actually on defense.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
So wait a minute. He was a rookie. He didn't
play last season.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
So he got hurt in the program.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
You can still compete to be Rookie of the Year, even.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Though it's yeah he didn't he didn't officially play any games.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
Yeah wow, So did he get a credit of the season.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
As a player, No, he didn't play any games. He
got hurt. He had a program who was that last
year with Jamal Crawfin and Hen.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
But but I'm saying, does he not get a credited
a season though? Like is it? No?
Speaker 3 (26:28):
He No, he doesn't. He's a he's a fifty A
rookie this year, so he's actually in the competition to
be a Rookie of the Year. It's why he's trying
of crazy.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Right, Oh wow, all right.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Well hey there you go. Okay, some dude show, go
to some dude show dot com. Make sure you check

we brought them back on. So let's get that last
update for you for you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
I love and uh you mean by we you mean
are Penn States? Yes, lions number ten in the nation.
Speaker 8 (27:40):
Yes, I suppose it is safe to talk about them
again because they have just indeed tied Indiana at fourteen
with two to oh nine left to play in the
second quarter. Indiana had a fourteen to seven lead on
two long touchdown passes by their quarterback Brendan Soresby, a
ninety yarder to the Keith Carter and then a sixty
nine yeard touchdown pass to Donovan McCully. But Penn State
(28:02):
just came back to tie it on a two yard
run by Nicholas Singleton. Right now in Lawrence, Kansas, they
are in a weather delay because.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
Of lightning in the area.
Speaker 8 (28:12):
Number six Oklahoma trailing at Kansas fourteen to seven with
eight minutes left to play in the second quarter. Kansas
took a fourteen to nothing lead as Oklahoma quarterback Dylan
Gabriel was intercepted by Romelo Dotson. He returned to thirty
seven yards for a touchdown. Kansas then added a nine
yard touchdown run by Daniel Hishaw, but Oklahoma got on
(28:34):
the board on a seven yard touchdown run by Gabriel.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Number four.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
Florida State up twenty four to seven at wake Forest.
With two forty five left in the second quarter, Florida
State quarterback Jordan Travis a thirteen yard run into the
end zone that a twenty nine yard touchdown passed to
Keyon Coleman, and then an eighty yard touchdown pass to
Trey Benson. Travis On They has completed eleven of eighteen
(29:02):
for two hundred and sixteen yards with two touchdown passes.
In the NFL. Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels
just confirmed that Jimmy Garoppolo will start on Monday night
against the Lions. Garoppolo did not play in last week's
lost to the Bears because of a back injury. In
Game one of the World Series Friday night, a Dolice
Garcia's home run in the bottom of the eleventh inning
(29:22):
gave the Texas Rangers a dramatic six ' five win
over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Game two tonight at eight to three,
Eastern back we go to the revitalized var.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Thank you, sir, appreciate, enjoy your day.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
I low a lot of great football going on this morning,
and you know, some good games. It's always nice when
you hear about Florida State having such dominance. I mean,
that was our era of time when Bobby Bowden and
those amazing Florida State teams were doing some amazing things
(30:00):
in the ACC.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
So shouts off of Florida State. Man.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
But let's let's come back to football, and let's let's
let's visit the conversation that was a large one this
past week. Of course, Deshaun Watson cleared concussion protocols and
has been medically cleared to be able to play, but
was pulled out very early in the game this past
(30:27):
Sunday due to protecting him from a concussed I guess
state or symptoms. But when Deshaun Watson was asked about it,
his comments were based around the reaggravating of the shoulder
and not wanting to reinjure his shoulder. And then more
information comes out He's not going to play this week, plexico,
(30:51):
And now the questions have started to circulate does he
even want to play? This is what Deshaun Watson had
to say. I'm interested to get your response when we've
done hearing it.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
I would never want to play.
Speaker 9 (31:03):
I just I was just work myself for two years
to get back to playing. So why wouldn't I want
to play? This is what I've been doing since I
was six years old, So why wouldn't I want to play?
I see, I see the same things. I see all
the narratives this that the third I mean, all that
stuff is just trying to call controversy and commotion.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
You know, I'm fine, I'm happy.
Speaker 9 (31:24):
I'm not happy with the injury, but you know, I'm
in a great space mentally, I'm in a great space spiritually,
uh physically, everything else is in a great space. It's
up my shoulder, so we're working hard.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
To get that back.
Speaker 9 (31:35):
But yeah, why wouldn't I want to play?
Speaker 1 (31:37):
I don't.
Speaker 9 (31:37):
I don't do this for no other reason. So yeah,
I see that too. I see the whole contract situation and.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
All that stuff.
Speaker 9 (31:45):
Yeah, that stuff is just for people to talk and
and just great narratives.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
What you think, Plexico man?
Speaker 5 (31:56):
You know, I think this is going to be the
third straight week that he's been up, and I've been
around this game for a long time, and I'm saying
to myself, either the Keeton Browns are not being honest
with us telling us the severity of his injury, or
(32:17):
Deshaun Watson just doesn't want to play football. And you know,
I've been, you know, kind of juggling this whole thing
of does he want to play as he really injured?
Speaker 1 (32:26):
As he hurt? And I believe that.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
This man wants to be on the football for him
just like he said, why would he why would he not?
But I believe that he has a more severe injury
than what they're telling us is just a bruise rotator cuff.
Maybe he has a slight tear in there or something.
Somebody has to come out and be honest with us.
Why not himself, Why not come out and say, you
know what, you know what, my shoulders hurting me so
(32:50):
bad to the degree that I cannot throw a football.
Don't go in the game last week. You know, you
go hang with one for five and a pick and
you go, you fall on the back of your you know,
your head. They say, you know you had a concussion.
You're going to concussion protocol and now you've cleared concussion protocol.
(33:11):
But you're still not going to play this weekend because
they're saying it's still your shoulder. That's why I get confused.
That's where right. So either his injury is a lot
worse than they are telling us that is this what
I believe, Maybe he has a tear, Go out there
and get it a second opinion, or come out and
be honest and tell us what's really wrong with his shoulder,
(33:33):
because I can't believe that this man has a bruised shoulder.
You put him in the starting lineup last week, he
plays two or three series, he goes one for five
with a pick, he gets a concussion. He's clear to
play this week, but this week leading to this game,
it's still a shoulder. So everybody's lost and confused.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
So PJ.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
Walker, I think Kevin ste fans, you know, you know,
saw where d Shawn was at last week and those
first four seers and saw that he wasn't healthy and
pulled him out of the game to save him from
you know, playing another bad football game, and say, you
know what, you know what, he has a concussion. But
(34:19):
I also believe that you know Kevin Sevansi and his
coaching staff is saying, you know what, PJ Walker is
playing better right now than I hurt DeShawn Watson, and
we still have a chance to win this division. I'm
gonna ride this defense. PJ Walker's two and zero probably
(34:40):
going to win again tomorrow. And then what are you
going to say moving forward for d Shawn Watson and
his team being at the fact you have the best
defense in football and PJ Walker string and on moving forward?
What are you going to do as a coach when
when Deshaun Watshington comes back, Because until this point, he
has not delivered or been a shell of the player
(35:05):
that he was for like three or four years ago
in Houston, and that's what that's what everybody's looking for
for him to get back to being this elite quarterback.
And of course the contract is going to be at
the top of the board because it's something he's a
pioneer in that category of being the first NFL player
to have a fully guaranteed contract. He's a pioneer of
(35:27):
this and all the guys that are coming.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
After him, this is what they are pursuing, make no
mistake about it.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
So the fact that Deshaun Watson has this fully guaranteed contract,
and some people saying he's not hurt.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Maybe he's hurt, doesn't want to play football.
Speaker 5 (35:44):
He basically thought he has a responsibility and maybe he
doesn't understand that because the guys that are coming after him,
they won't to say that he gots and that now
he's sending in this message to the team and to
these owners. I got the bag, I got the fully
guarante contract. I don't have to go to play football anymore.
And it's just it's just it's a bad look all
(36:06):
the way around. With the injury, the shoulder concussion. That
what the Cleveland Browns are not saying what he's not saying.
If the man is really hurt and he's injured, come out.
I got to say it. Yeah, you gotta say that.
This is the speculation that's killing this man in the media,
myself included, because we don't know. Nobody's claire. Yeah right,
(36:29):
so he's watched the fan. I love for this young man.
I think he's a hell of a player. But please,
somebody come out and save something to save face for
this young man.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
That's Plexico Burts. I'm Leavar Arrington. He's talking about Deshaun Watson,
we're talking sports. We're gonna take a quick break. We're
gonna wrap this one up Russell Wilson. As I mentioned,
we will wrap the show up with a continuance of
quarterbacks being discussed in the hour two. Uh, he made headlines,
but it isn't the way you thought it was.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
It's actually off the field.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
We'll talk about that on the other side of this
break US Fox Sports Radio. This is up on Game.
We'll be right back. All right, welcome back into the show.
It is up on Games, TJ, Huschmizada, LeVar, Arrington, Plex,
Coburs and TJ's off today. So Plex has held it down,
has knocked it out of the park today. If you
(37:22):
miss anything, make sure you go check out up on
Game the podcast. Wherever it is that you get your podcast,
make sure you subscribe. Tell a friend. Yeah, appreciate all
of all of our listeners. Appreciate the affiliates. We are
indeed in the tyreck dot Com studios. Before we leave
(37:43):
here today, I wanted to have a more positive ending
to the show. Obviously, we talk about some of the
things and it's a little provocative, and you know, the
Deshaun Watson topic. Maybe not the easiest thing to do
to talk about somebody not wanting to play and all that.
But I'll tell you what, this was a cool story.
(38:03):
Uh BO, tell us what did Russell Wilson do?
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Like?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
I mean, this was a situation where I thought was
pretty pretty cool deal that.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Uh what is it? Well? Am I looking for here? Unfolded?
That's what I'm looking for. What happened? Yeah, what happened?
Speaker 10 (38:20):
So Russell Wilson rented out a waffle house for CR's
thirty eighth birthday. CR, of course, is his wife, so
you know, they had a good time wrinting out the
waffle house and hopefully the wait staff and all the
servers and the employees didn't get in any fights while
they were there, but you never know waffle house so
they can for her. But I do it on a
(38:42):
date and I'm called an a hole.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Oh hold on, now, did you rent out the whole
waffle house?
Speaker 10 (38:47):
Is that really?
Speaker 7 (38:48):
If you go there late enough, don't you really have
the waffle house to yourself?
Speaker 1 (38:51):
I think, I guess.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
I guess that's a great point there, sir, That is
a great point, all right, So plex I mean to
me clearly, he he's aware of the fact that his
wife loves the waffle house and loves going to the
waffle house. I thought it was a cool gesture in
the sense that you made it seem upscale and high
end by renting it out. I'm sure they decorated it
(39:14):
nicely right for her deal, and she got to eat
the eats that she enjoys most. What what What is
the coolest thing you've done in terms of surprise birthday gift,
if any.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Surprise birthday gift? Yeah? Did you ever rent out a
waffle house?
Speaker 5 (39:35):
I'm just listening to this story and I'm just surprised
that they have a waffle house in Denver? Hmmm, I
mean that's that's yeah, I do. Look, that was one
of my one of my favorite cities. But you know
the favorite birthdays surprises?
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (39:54):
Uh, you know what it was birthday to myself.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
I surprised myself. Okay, what you got? I really did?
I went out?
Speaker 5 (40:02):
Was it last year? The two years ago? I had
a I went out and run it up my buddy's
Russell Runner in Jersey's City. It was running the water
and everybody came through. It was perfect. We had crab cakes,
we had pizza, we had sushi, we had Black Trouble pizza,
we had it all.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (40:18):
And you know what I said to myself, I'm gonna
throw my damnself a party because ain't nobody gonna.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Do it for me. Yeah, man, I would throw your party,
you know what I mean. So that's what I did.
That's my favorite damn surprise birthday party. It was. It
was a surprise for myself. Okay, all right, I like that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
So so here's the morol way the bill it was finished,
shots out the Plex code giving himself his best birthday
party surprise. Shots out to Russell Wilson forgiving uh Sierra
the business uh with I mean, you know what I mean,
like the birthday business with raw.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
It.
Speaker 4 (40:57):
