Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go, se Longs go, big Boy, Let's go, Let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Did you uh get your ressed in Saturday after late
Thursday and Friday night? All good? Or you recalibrating and
ready to roll. I'm ready to roll. I'm ready to roll.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Did a lot of fun we did? We got to
fill in Friday. That's right, Well, lots going on. I'm
waiting ed He says, it's still gonna be Arizona, Oklahoma
and the Almo Bowl, or I'm hoping Arizona goes to
like the Fiesta Bowl or something.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I don't think you guys are going to the Fiesta
Bowl because I don't think you're gonna end up in
the top twelve. But I think there's a chance Oklahoma mine,
So I'm holding out hope. What do you You can't
end up in the top twelve. You gotta be in
the top twelve in order to go to New Year's
Day six Bowl.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, but they may make an exception because we draw
better than anybody else at the Fiesta.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Do you have well you would draw well at the
Fiesta Bowl. That's right.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
But I must to get Salabama so we can kick
the crap out of them would be nice.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Well, Alabama might not have half of its players if
they don't go to the play off. When you when
you don't go to the playoffs in a place like
Bam or George, it's like a New Year's Day six bowl.
They all start getting ready for the draft. That changes.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Are you saying we're gonna get to some third world
class bowl again?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Is that what's gonna happen? Alamo Bowl is a good time.
I mean, what third world class bowl? When's the last
time you went to a bowl game? That's not the point.
That's not the point. You're like, you're like a fan
whose team has success and hasn't made the playoffs in
ten years, and they make the playoffs and lose after
maybe the first or second round. I'm like, gosh, we're
just terrible. You know, Oh you're still good. You know

(01:34):
you have to embrace this opportunity because your team usually
stinks and and Arnie magically like millions of millions of
dollars are missing. So it's probably gonna be tough to
stay at this level you're at. But go ahead and
be again about it.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
That's why you let the Lord of White while they're
thereby as well have a good time. You're like that
dad whose kid gets straight a's. You go and graduates
high school with straight a's, and you go, here's a
new suit. So so you could have something when you
go to college instead of buying them a car or
something like that.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
You know, you need to discuss it now. I didn't
buy him either one, so you can judge me on that.
Few like Eddy did have straight a's. But maybe that's
because I work in radio. Well, we're company alive tonight
from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot
com will help you get there and unmatched a selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way tire buying

(02:27):
should be. Yes, there is a chance of an Oklahoma
Arizona matchup in a bowl game. We'll talk about some
bowl possibilities coming up a little bit later on in
the program. And the conference championship games are here. Michigan
did it again. We'll talk about it all coming up
in a bit. But I got on it. We can't
bury the lead. Tonight, Week twelve of the National Football League.
At least the Sunday Action in Week twelve. Coming to

(02:48):
a conclusion, and we're gonna get a good finish in
this one. Chargers have cut it to a field goal.
It's now thirteen to ten Baltimore, though. The Ravens have
the football and they're driving with about eight twenty to go.
Not a good night for those of you were trying
to sell everyone that the Ravens are the best team
in the AFC. No it is.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
It still feels like Baltimore's dominated this game. Yet for
some reason, it's a three point game. Did they take
points off the board for them or something like that.
I just they should have put this game away a
long time ago.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
They have it now.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
The Chargers all have to do is try to come
up with a stop and get the ball back. They're
only down by three. We may have I think for
some reason, the Chargers may pull this out.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
You know you had your chance to go ahead and
put them out. I don't know for whatever reason, And
I've been watching this game, but I either turnover, or
you can't put them away, or you couldn't pick up
the third down or whatever it was. But and the
Chargers were three points. How miserable. Did they look like?
Next thing?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
You know, it's thirteen to ten and still putting a
time in this game. But the Chargers are doing everything
they can as an offense to get Justin Herbert hurt,
are they not? I mean they don't protect him. They're running.
I didn't see the numbers on the running game. They don't.
They don't have a running game to go along with it.
I mean, he takes shot after shot after shit. I look,
eighteen carries for eighty seven yards. Tonight they're leading rusher

(04:04):
Is Herbert with four carries and forty seven yards. I mean,
it's again, I don't feel sorry for anyone in the
AFC West when they stink, but for the amount of
talent Justin Herbert has. I'm saying this about a team
who still might come back and win this game. You
just feel like, right now, Arnie, the Chargers are not
maximizing the opportunity to have with the Sky quarterback.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
You think you think it's gonna be any better when
Belichick goes over there or whoever takes over well, obviously
it would. Can you imagine the Belichick system over there?
I fabably has a quarterback other than somebody like Mac Jones.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
You know, if you're Bill Belichick, here's a question because
today will quickly shift from this thirteen to ten game
to keep you up today, but because Arnie feels like
the need to try to bury coaching legends when they
have a couple bad seasons. So we'll start there. If
you're Bill Belichick, yeah, and you're giving the option the
Patriots say it was a two year deal. We're gonna

(04:58):
have one of the top picks in the draft. We
want you to continue to build this foundation, and let's
see if it takes the young, up and coming superstar
quarterback to kind of maybe reignite things around here, give
us our next to Brady for the next decade. Would
you stick around and help lead the Charge to draft
either Caleb Williams or Drake may or would you say, now,
you guys start for it. If it's a choice that

(05:20):
he has to make, If it's a story chest and
you go fresh and you go to the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Is a choice between that retirement or maybe going to
the place like like, let's say what the.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Chargers specifically the Chargers. Yeah, I may stick around.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
I may say, you know what, I'm already this song
into it. You know, maybe at another year, but two
to three years, I get to take this quarterback and
teach him my way. And these two young quarterbacks supposedly
are are gonna be the real deal. It's not like
they're so raw. I expect, you know, some success right
off the bat. I think I'll go And plus, you know,
I'm in a division where Buffalo's going down.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Who knows what's gonna have been the Jets.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Even if Rogers does comes back like Kat, I can't
trust by Abby.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Sure, I don't think I'll stick around for another car.
I think I can.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
As Eddie Murphy would say, I think I can stick around.
I got with you guys for a while.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I think I like you guys. Here's a question. Just
because there's teams like the well unfortunately the Panthers don't
have their first round pick. But there's teams like the Bears,
the Cardinals, the Patriots, uh Thoe Washington. That makes I loved.
I love the Devido family. Never gonna say anything about
it about the Devido family no more. Danny DeVito jokes

(06:34):
it's it's awesome. It's the greatest thing ever. But the
Giants are and that makes it maybe even tamping the
Jets to a certain extent, right, you're already thinking about
the draft that these are and there's there's teams like
myself that fans of a team like the Raiders. When
you see that magical in the Hunt graphic, which is
the greatest drug on Earth, it's like, look, we're in
the hunt, but a majority of teams that you know

(06:56):
are are on the outside looking In Arnie, we're already
looking ahead of the draft. So I think what's gonna
be fascinating is see over the next couple of weeks
in Chicago, in Arizona and maybe in Washington too, which
one of those franchises says, you know what, we're good
with our quarterback. We're gonna build around Justin Fields or
Kyler Murray or Sam Howe for goodness sakes, and we're

(07:17):
just gonna get that best tackler, Marvin Harrison Junior. I
think it's gonna be interesting to see what happens with
like quarterback and needy teams and who is or isn't it.
Because Arizona's got the second overall pick right now, right right,
what if they decide to build with Kyler?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Why why couldn't you have traded Devonte Adam. But you're
not gonna get a first round pick for Devonte.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Addams, not like a top three pick or anything. No, no,
no no.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
But I was gonna say, and the package your number
one pick and move up in the draft.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
But you don't. Do you have enough fun you could
do that. I could see a team doing that. I
think here's what if you're trading up, let's just say
you're moving you're gonna have two first round picks. You
gotta no, no, no, no, I don't care about two
first round picks this year. Onnie, you got to give
up your next year first round pick. That's oh, that's fine,
you don't care about that, But you don't have to
look at what happened to Carolina when you talk about

(08:03):
not worrying about moving up to get the first.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Okay, it doesn't work, but you don't have two first
round picks if you got one for Devanta Adams.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Although one, but that's not going to happen. No again,
this I disagree. I think that it doesn't matter if
you have two first round picks, are you willing to
give up next years? And if that's the case, then
maybe a Chicago who has a couple of first round
picks might be willing, But I don't think you're gonna
get a player involved in any deal, Arnie that involves
someone moving up like Devanta Adams caliber. I don't think

(08:32):
that's gonna make a difference.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
No, you're you're probably right about that. But if you
kept asking me, are you willing to give up number
one next year like that's some tough question, I'm even
surprised you even pretend like it's a tough question.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
The answer is yes, yes, and yes not. Just hear
the evidence. I just gave you. Well, you gave me
one guy. You gave me, You gave me one guy.
You're totally pretty significant guy. You gave up your first
round pick to move up and get a quarterback, young,
no fit that looks like he's a dude, and now
you don't have a chance to get a generational guy.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Every week, for like the last month and a half,
I've been coming out of here brownbeating you about Caleb Williams, Right,
I can't keep it out of here.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
You're sure this guy is the way?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely So It's like you don't know
what you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
You know, he's gonna be the number one pick in
the draft.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
No, I understand that, But now all of a sudden,
he's not, you know, gonna be like, uh, you think
you could be a boss? You know, we have to
give up an extra first round pick or something.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
What in the world are you talking about. No, I
don't I say give it up, but I'm telling you
it's not a tried and true thing. I'm giving you
a piece of evidence right now that just happened where
it's not always the best call to go ahead and
give up that future first to move up, because I
think to get Caleb williams Arnie, you got to move
up to number one, number one overall. Yeah, And they

(09:50):
ain't gonna be like, all right, that's enough. You're gonna
have to give up a lot to go up and
get that.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
So I wonder if that's still the case though, that
he is still gonna be the number one overalls as
the season the way it did, because you know, obviously,
had he won the Heisman and us he had a
good year, there'd be no doubt in my mind.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Now I have a little bit of doubt in my mind.
I don't know, maybe it's like seventy thirty or something.
So tell me what's much more impressive about what you
saw then from Drake May.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
It wasn't what You're right, It wasn't so much more
impressive with his team. You're one hundred percent right on that.
It's because here's a guy that was supposed to take
a team to like one of the four spots in
the playoff, and they lost how many games? So you know,
then you look at it like that. Okay, my expectations
were not as high for North Carolina as USC's, right.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I mean, that's that's fair, isn't it. This is well, no,
it's a magnification of how you just don't listen to me.
What do I tell you? You need to win a championship?
You need a complete team? What did I tell you?
USC is not going to have as long as Lincoln
Riley as their coach, they're not going to have a
complete team. And number two, Arnie, I'm glad that you
weren't in the Chiefs war room because you probably would

(10:57):
have said, I saw Patrick Mahomes get beat sixty six
to ten Iowa State. We're never drafting Patrick Mahomes a lot.
This guy come, he's trash right now, but just a
final thought and kind of pulling it all back at
least in on that Patriots Giants game, which I'm sure
we're getting fired for leading with this, but how disgusting
I mean to be for this incredible product, this great league,

(11:20):
fantasy gambling, everything, Arnie. There is no better time to
be in the business of the National Football League. And
we get Giants Patriots, a Super Bowl rematch from what
like a decade ago, thirteen years ago, and it's the
two of the worst teams in the NFL and they
can't get the ball across the fifties.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
And you know what's funny is if you look back
at the last twenty years, you look at some of
the top games ratings wise, a bit of the Patriots
were involved in some of them, and a bitch of
the Giants were involved in some of them.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
And here they are together, and.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
There was very little interest in them because I look
who the quarterbacks were, you know, And look, I always
say from day one, Daniel Jones was never going to
be answer. I don't know how you get out of
that contract. He has like one hundred more years left
on it or something like that. I don't care how
much it costs you against the cap. I don't care
if you have to give up fifty percent of the
team to the guy. Just say, you know what, you're

(12:12):
part order. Here you go, Daniel. You're just not going
to quarterback the team. That's just the way it's gonna happen.
It's just the way it's got to be. I can't
have it anymore. So you've just got to move on
from him. Besides, he's hurt anyway, so we'll see it.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
I like the idea of you just giving giving Daniel
Jones ownership so you can get rid of him. He's like,
you're the order. You pay me. How about that? You
pay me and I'll make you the order, all right.
So the first tweet I see to the shows from Calvert,
who tweeted Addison said, I waited all day for Sunday night,
and this is the bizarre game that I expected. Baltimore thirteen,

(12:46):
Chargers ten, about two and a half minutes to go.
Justin Tucker just missed a field goal. This never happens.
The Chargers have the football back with a chance to
drive down and win this football game like we had
talked about, or tight force overtime hofitting would that be.
So Martin Weiss is in tonight. He'll be keeping you updated,
as will Arnie and I here on this Sunday night

(13:06):
football game. But what was your biggest takeaway from today?
Right we can joke about how bad the Giants Patriots were.
We're gonna talk some college football coming up next hour
Todd Furman in hour two. But Arnie, what was something
that you saw today where you're just like, all right,
this is what I need to get into.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Well, I'm sure we're gonna get into it right away.
It's like the the crumbling of the guard, you know,
the downfall. I'm talking about the Buffalo Bills. You know,
they had the lead. They let him slip away. Not
only the seasons now slipped away. Careers may have slipped away,
Firings may be up. There's certainly doubted people's mind about that.

(13:46):
Players want to be gone. You know, who knows what's
gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
The digs.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
It's all done for the Buffalo Bills. It's it's all
crumbling right in front of us. Not as bad as
the Patriots, but could be the beginning, you know, where
a couple of lose things to you know, just lose
bricks ruin the whole foundation. It's it's a bad situation
for the Bills and it only gets tougher with the
games coming up against what Kansas City Dallas. Remember we

(14:13):
brought this up last week. We said it's a tough
three game stretch. It's gonna be tough. I mean, this
was a tough game, had this one one. I don't
think you move on from Josh Allen, but you're gonna
move out from some other people, that's for damn sure.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
I wonder if we've reached the point of has the
Shan McDermott coaching for his job article has been written yet?
Is that betting out there yet? Because you feel like
that's one of those should maybe maybe, I mean, if
you go back John. You guys know, I love John Middleclough.
I listened to him a lot, and he has brought
up since the start of this season, and listen, Brandon's

(14:50):
a Bills fan. Paul with Bill's MAFI is a regular
contributor to this program. I mean, I can't imagine calling
for it this dude's job, with the success that he's had.
But it seems as if moving on from Leslie Fraser,
some of the decisions that have been made. As far
as play calling is concern, there's a lot of concern
that's taking place right now amongst bills. If you told
me that the.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Bills, if you come to an agreement, said Harbaugh, says
he wants the coach your team.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Dundal, Dundal, let's go, let's go. Isn't it wild you're
talking Jim harbo off? Of course? Yeah, isn't it wild
to think that Jim Harball has been a candidate for
at the very least what four to five NFL jobs
in the last few years. I thought forty, but that's
good for forty's fine, but let's just say four to five.

(15:34):
Where he was considered a legit candidate right Minnesota, Denver, Vegas.
He was talked about, the Colts, he was talked about,
and every single time, Arnie, he's never the guy. And
he doesn't and not because he doesn't want it, right
at least that's the reports. It's amazing what happens when
you string together a couple of good years at a college.

(15:56):
You're like, wha wait, I was about to say, what
happens when you're in Ohio state a couple of times?
What's gonna happen to you, that's for sure. Now, all
of a sudden, you're like, should we move on from
the guy that I don't know went to an AFC
championship game a couple of years ago, has us in
the playoffs and hired the dude that checks notes, has
beaten Michigan or beating Ohios eight three straight times. Yes,

(16:17):
yes we should. Gosh, never change, never change, hot stove league.
I love it. All right, We're gonna have some finality
in this Sunday night football game when we come back.
Chargers facing a fourth and six with a minute fifty
seven to go, still not quite in striking range yet,
but with a minute fifty seven ago, trying to rally
trailing Baltimore thirteen to ten. Now you mentioned the weird

(16:40):
game of the day. When we come back, let's try
to figure out what we did learn. Because I'm glad
you brought up that Eagles Bills game. I'm so confused
by it. I have questions that we need to make
sense of, and we'll do it next. And as always,
we're brought to you by Progressive Insurance, which makes buddling
easy and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by combining
your motorcycle, RV, boat, ATV and more, all your protection

(17:00):
in one place. Bundlin Save It Progressive dot Com ballgame.
The Ravens hold on a fourth down, they'll bleed out
the final well yeah, yeah, three time outs for the Chargers.
They'll put on the total man fifty one slight chance,
but thirteen to ten Baltimore will get the football back
and likely on their way to their what would that
be ninth win of the season. We'll go all in

(17:21):
on it next year on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, what's
up everybody?

Speaker 4 (17:24):
It's me three time pro bowler LeVar Arrington and I
couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called Up
on Game?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
What is up on Game? You ask? Along with my
fellow pro bowler TJ.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Huschman Zada and Super Bowl champion Yup, that's right, Plexico Birds.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Up on Game We're going to be sharing our real
life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen to Up on

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Oh no, tell me you have the Chargers plus three
and a half, Arnie, tell me that's what you had. No,
I didn't pick this game. My NFL picks were really
really good this week. That takes what they've been really
good this year. Baltimore gets well what is for now
a backdoor cover? But the Charger still up. Well, it's

(18:39):
fourth to nineteen, twenty to ten. The Ravens lead it
now after a three play forty four yard drive on
Zave Flower's touchdown. And that was a ballgame.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Are you telling me there's not enough big fat guys
in college that can play offensive line that could protect
this guy?

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Is that what you're trying to tell me? You're we
don't have enough big strong guys in college to protect
Justin Herbert. We don't have enough talented quarterbacks to make
the Giants are the Patriots? Are the Raiders?

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (19:11):
What have we got in college? Then? What's going on here? Geez?
That's why? That's why, And that incomplete pass that'll do it.
Baltimore is gonna win this game twenty to ten tonight
and Sunday Night football. I think hear me out. I
think this is one of the reasons why the NFL
should really really start investing in either this combined XFL.

(19:32):
Let's say a USFL thing, really try to create a
player development offensive lineman get better with a lot of
guys don't bloom until late It's a position that's a
late blooming position. Well by that time, dude might have
been cut or broke his leg twice. Right, So I
feel like college is not just enough to help develop
these guys for the NFL if they need to invest
more in the XFL USFL.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
If I was the size of Jeff Schwartz, I'd played
until I was sixty for crying out loud.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Man, well he probably would have if his legs didn't give.
I mean, they're back and knee injuries and shoulder injuries.
That it sounds all good and well, but yeah, if
it's not gonna happen tonight, Arnie, it's he's gonna get
the rest of the year. I know you haven't been
a big guy about mid season firings in the past,
But if we're just focused on this tonight with the Chargers,

(20:19):
Los Angeles does not appear to be a team that's
heading in the right direction. And maybe it's time for
the Chargers to make a change, even if it's against
one of our kind of token takes, which is, don't
get too carried away with firing guys in season, right.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
But I think you're gonna want to wait because you
want to go ahead and see who's available at the
end of the year. You know, like we just talked
about Harball, we talked about Belichick. Is that a realistic
possibility with bellichie Jo?

Speaker 3 (20:43):
No, that's a great question, you know.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
As Harbor realistic possibility. Who else out there could they get?
I mean, it is an attractive job, I'm sure it is,
so I don't know how the money is, but I'd
have to wait till the end of the year.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
And this is in college. You see these college vacancies
that have been wrapped up pretty quickly, Mike Elco getting
hired at a and m Jeff Lebey getting hired at
Mississippi State. You have roster concerns, right. You have guys
that can enter the transfer portal starting next week and
you also have to go get guys that are gonna
come play for you to help replace those guys you
have to recruit. You don't need that in the NFL, right,

(21:20):
I mean, you have guys that are contracts, so you
don't have to worry about that. So you can take
your time if you want to give Brandon Staley more time.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
By the way, you mentioned the A and M job,
isn't true that the fan base was so crazed about
the hiring of Stoops that they caused such a backlash
as they said Stoops backed out.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Of the thing or what so Saturday night? The story
aren't he's talking about is if you went to bed
early Saturday night, say you didn't stay up for I
think it was the Hawaii game that was on late.
There was a report and I believe it originated from
Billy Lucci, Great Texas A and M report. It might
have been on three, but Billy Lucci said, Hey, Mark
Stoops is gonna be the next head coach at A

(21:59):
and M. Yeah. Done deal, not done deal, Dunean and
the fan base flipped the bleepout then reg Sheano to
Tennessee and how Clay Travis led that pushed back and
led that mob. Well, I guess it was enough to
where one faction of the boosters were like, we don't
want him. But if you were to buy the cleanup

(22:20):
act that some A and M insiders try to sell you, Arnie,
Mark Stoops hadn't been offered the job and terms some
people he was taking it, and so that's kind of
where it ran like crazy, believe what you want. But
I think they ended up getting it right with Mike Alco.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Well, I thought the reason they didn't want Stoops was
they wanted a big name, you know what I mean,
a big splash, and they got a lot of money
out there, so I thought that's what they were looking for.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Well, okay, Mike Elko, how big of a splash is
that for you? Well? I was thinking more like a name,
like a Harbond name, you know, that type of thing.
But yeah, they're not getting job. They're not getting Jim
harrbout to come to Texas. A and M. You're not
Why would you leave Michigan? I mean they they hired
the guy they're hirding, Mike Elco. So if if you're
crazy enough to be like, oh, Mark Stoops can't be

(23:05):
the guy and you're like Mike Elko, can You're insane.
What Mark Stoops has done in Kentucky is unbelievable. And
I'm happy for him that he's staying there. And I'm
sure he got a raise for that too. So it
worked out okay? But yeah, yeah, they pushed back against
Mark Stoops and now they get the duke head coach Arnie.
Did it work out okay for him?

Speaker 2 (23:24):
You think, well, well, it only depends on what it
comes out in the field. You'll say it's a good
hire now, But you know, we only think it makes
the differences wins and losses. And by the way, why
do they have so much more money than everybody else?
It seems like does every oil guy graduate from Texas
Ay and ever?

Speaker 3 (23:42):
What's going on there? You know, I know you got
to get some more guys that are in oil and
gas that are going to Arizona. Maybe that's what we need.
Maybe you won't be having two hundred million dollars disappear.
But I'm sure, I'm sure the college football coaching carousel
is not number one, number one on what Martin Weiss
wants to get to. But as we have gone final
and so night football let's get you caught up on everything.
The saga is covering that Chargers Ravens game. So Martin's tonight.

(24:05):
Le's going on, Martin, That's true. Steve de Sager just
watched not exactly a classic. You guys may remember this
the NFL draft. This last the most recent one he had.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
Quinton Johnston was the twenty first overall pick, the twenty
second overall pick Zay Flowers for Baltimore Ravens. He just
scored the last touchdown. That makes this a twenty to
ten final score. And you know what saves Brandon Dally
for being zero to seven in games decided by three
point or less because that was what was on coming

(24:35):
up just in case.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
So now he lost a double digit margins. So there
you go.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I guess that will be considered steps in the wrong direction.
Lamar Jackson tonight one hundred and seventy seven passing yards,
add thirty nine rushing yards to that. Had a touchdown
through the air to the aforementioned Jay Flowers. He had
two tonight. Justin Herbert had a touchdown passer Gerald Evert
late late in the game in the fourth quarter. That
made it interesting, but Chargers could not get out of
their way tonight. Herbert had an enter in the first half,

(25:01):
Keenan Allen had a fumble in the first half. Austin
Ackler had a fumble in the first half. And despite
Keenan Allen's fourteen receptions for one hundred and six yards
that think he's been putting up numbers this year, the
Chargers do fall twenty to ten. Earlier today in the NFL,
we had some lates game scores here. The Eagles find
a way over the Bills in overtime, and that was

(25:21):
a while with miss field goals all over the place.
Jake Elliott banged a fifty nine yarder to send it
to OT. Jalen Hurts had a rushing touchdown to close
out the game thirty seven to thirty four of the
final margin in OT Chiefs and the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Chiefs take care of business.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
Scored some second half points for the first time in
three weeks, seventeen of them to be clear, thirty one
seventeen the final margin and that one and the Rams
take care of the Cardinals thirty seven to fourteen. In
the NHL, we got one game going still right now.
It's the Oilers and the Ducks and looks like the
Oilers just put another one in between the pipes, eight
to two.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
The margin.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
There three thirty five left in the third quarter period,
rather third period.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
There my bad hand up my bad third period.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
There a third three thirty left in that matchup there
in the NBA, this this one is quarters the Celtics
to improve their seven and o home record. They beat
the Hawks one thirteen to one oh three. The Bucks
beat the Trail Blazers one o waight to one two.
Giannis with thirty three and sixteen in that matchup, Spurs
and the Nuggets. Denver beats San Antonio one thirty two

(26:27):
to one twenty victor win. Benyama had twenty two points,
eleven rebounds of six seals.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
And a loss in the win.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
Nicola Jokis thirty nine points, eleven rebounds, nine assists, christ
and blank.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Back to you guys, all right, thanks buddy, good job,
Martin Thatt, said, Martin White. We'll be keeping tabs on
everything here this evening. ESPN just flashed a quick analytics graphic.
Right now, the Baltimore Ravens now have a seventy seven
percent chance to win the AFC North, which right around
their preseason number. But get this, the Cincinnati Bengals preseason

(27:00):
opportunities or chances to win their division was seventy one percent.
Now it's less than one. Got a while the difference
to half of your starting quarterback makes oh? Absolutely, and
they're done like the eleventh seed right now in the AFC.
They're them and the Buffalo Bills. Uh. Two teams where
some people thought this could be like an AFC championship
match up there Now both of those teams won't even

(27:21):
make the playoffs. How about that? You should be feeling
really good about where your team is for the potential
one seed right now. Of course you thought about that
with the Dolphins. Well I thought about it before the season,
but I told you they were going to be the
number one seed something like that, You know what I mean.
I guess you don't remember that. You you at least
accept that Nobody listening to this is going to give
you credit because you say it before every single season. No,

(27:44):
I don't say it before every season. You say it
before just about every season that the Dolphins are gonna
be the one seed and go to the Super Bowl.
How about that? Well fair enough, But since you said so,
look at what a sports rebomb living. I got by Dolphins.
I've heard you, Bragle.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I got by Arizona four shows in a round by
Arizona football.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Geez, what a And look by Knicks even though they
lost today. So whatever, You're at eight and three right now?
Are the Miami Dolphins? Yes, where the Chiefs and the
Jaguars are also at eight and three right and which
has been a problem for your Dolphins playing teams with
winning records. You don't have to worry about that much
the rest of the way because you're going to Washington,

(28:28):
then you get Tennessee and the Jets at home before
you finally play a team that is even sniffing five hundred,
and that's a Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve. We don't
have the Ravens, we don't have eleven and three. You're
eleven and three. I just went to the next three games.
You're eleven and three going into that Cowboys game on
Christmas Eve. But then you finish Cowboys at Baltimore than
home to Buffalo, even though Buffalo, who knows where they'll

(28:50):
be by that play.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Yeah, they'll be eliminated by then. Josh All'll be taking
the week off of some type of injury.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Well, I would just I'd calm down. I just I
appreciate how good you feel and to hype you up.
But I would also caution in a year where quarterback injuries,
starting quarterback injuries have happened in basically what three straight
four straight weeks where a star quarterback has gone down
with an injury. Now you're safe this weekend, and we'll

(29:15):
see what happens on Monday Night football. But I wouldn't
be getting too cocky about it yet. Aren't you got
to make sure two wall gets through the season before
you can start talking about how great everything is. You're good,
You're in a good spot. We don't you worry about
jinxing this with the mush you are? No, No, not
at all. I mean everything's going exactly to plan. I
mean it's like I said, Miami and Dallas, and I.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Don't think I would change my pick right now for anything.
I think they're on track. I told you that the
Patriots were gonna be miserable and the Buffalo Bills. We're
seeing the end of not a dynasty, but what end
of whatever the hell it was dynasty on the AFC
East or whatever it is. So They're not even gonna
make the thinking Playoffs. It's it's O v er for
the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
So you're telling me that if I gave you a
redo on your NFC Super Bowl pick, you'd still go
with the Cowboys. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Absolutely nothing you've
seen from Philadelphia would change your mind on that. No,
you know, I probably wouldn't go in Francisco either. Hey, so,
what were you shoving San Francisco down my throat when

(30:20):
they lost three games in a row? I mean, were
you sitting there telling me how great your Cowboys pick
was when they lost to Arizona or whenever forty two
to ten.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
I think I remember saying if I could take a
bull again, I would take a bulligin on that.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
But that was a long time ago, right, I just
I think you're gonna end up having to take a
mulligan on both of them. But now at the risk
of at the risk of trying to inflate Well, I
don't have to worry about inflating your ego. You do
that fine yourself, right, But when you think about what
the Ravens have left as opposed to what Kansas City
and even Jacksonville has left, I don't know where the

(30:52):
schedule strength of schedule percentages, but I think you, you
and Jacksonville might have up fighting for the one seat
based on the way this guy. I mean, look, this
is the next four weeks for Jacksonville, Cincinnati, at Cleveland,
you get Baltimore at home, but then you go to
Tampa and you'll get Caroline at home. Oh, there's got

(31:13):
to be an investigation to that. The only thing easier
than their schedule is yours. What is there no junior
college Joe available to play than this week?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Or what?

Speaker 3 (31:21):
Oh my goodness, did you not hear when I laid
out the Dolphins schedule? No, I told you it was easy.
But we still have a couple of tough games, right
all right? Two tweets that I want to get to
here real quick before we grab a time out and
start diving into the entire rundown of games from the weekend.
Ramiro writes that wild finish between Buffalo and Philly. Granted

(31:41):
the Eagles got the win, but I feel like this
team has flaws and now the injuries are starting to
catch up with this team. I can't the injury bug
man Lane Johnson, dinged ub what Kelsey left he was
injured too, So Philly is starting to see that injury
kind of list grow and to bid. But isn't there

(32:01):
something to be said though? Still finding a way to
win the game when you want, yeah, in your best and.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Look, I know I like the rag on the buff
four Bills, but it still a you know, a pretty
good opponent there, and they did have the lead Philadelphia.
They just were stagnant the first half. Actually you can
even say part of that third quarter. Also, they came
alive in the fourth, and you know, they're lucky they
the Buffo Bills were accommodating to them.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
But then they had a sixty one yard.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Field goal right Philadelphia to go ahead and send that
dig into overtime. That was in the rain too, so
you know, consider them very lucky to pull this game out.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
By the way, BT, you wanted to make sure that
I corrected you. It was a fifty nine yard field goal.
Fifty nine yard field what for the Eagles. Yes, that's
what That's what he yelled in our ears. Whenever you
said he wouldn't know. He's a Bills fan, so he's
probably still very bitter.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
But no, I'm gonna stick with the sixty one. I
think he's probably wrong, so I'm gonna double check that.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
And then Paul writes, Sean McDermott isn't getting fired, but
no head coach makes worse decisions when the pressure is
on than him trying to ice it kicker on a
sixty yarder instead of saving the time out to try
to win the game. Josh Allen is being wasted by
this head coach.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
I could see that. I can see how Buffalo bill
fans feel about that. By the way, he was right
first time in his life fifty nine yard. I can
see how bride a lot you just don't listen to. Yeah,
I can see how Buffalo bill fans feel like this.
You're wasting the best years of this young quarterbacks lives.
You should really be putting a lot more around him.
And I still, you know, now, maybe I have started
to feel what Stefan Diggs is feeling. So we'll see

(33:30):
what happens with him next year.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Well, I'll add one more just to think about during
the break, then we'll dive into it when we come back.
Who do you feel like is being wasted more in
twenty twenty three, And you guys can add to this
if you want at Stinking Genius one I'm at playing show.
Is Justin Justin Field, sorry, Justin Herbert being wasted more?
Or is Josh Allen being wasted more with what's going

(33:52):
on around him? Josh Josh Allen for sure? You think
Josh Allen over Herbert.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Yeah, because you're getting four wins with two of the
teams in that division, with the Jets and the Patriots,
You're at least set up to go to the playoffs.
You know, maybe the Chargers, but they're so far down
in the dumps they lose every close game imaginable out there,
and Buffalo Bills have had success.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
So I gotta say it's the Buffalo Bills. We'll dive
into it more in depth and next right here on
Fox Sports Radio. Hey, we're lying from the Tyrock dot
Com studios with Arnie Spaniard the Stinking Genius. I'm Chris Plank.

Is this like a Christmas version of Hell's Bells? What
is this? Yeah? I know you're not asking me, that's
for sure. As I'm reading, as I'm reading the lighter

(35:04):
in my head, all I hear is a guy go
may Christmas. Well this like this, I don't know ac
DC riff going on? So we were right now the
Christmas music right away. I see. I'm sorry. I'm not
as hip as I should be with ac DC all
right now, So for you, so for you Alreadie Spaniard,
when we're talking about who's being wasted more this year,

(35:27):
it's not even a thought, a second thought. You're right away,
You're like Josh.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
Allen is, Yeah, I would think John because I think Buffalo.
I mean I had a higher side than the Chargers. Okay,
so that's why I figure they're wasting him more, because
I I mean, look as say what you want before
the year, the Buffalo is what one of the top
five teams to go to the Super Bowl. So I
think that's why you're wasting you more.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
To be honest, this is good from Justin and Cincinnati,
he writes Jessin Herbert has never made one mistake. This
is all on Stanley and every other human on the planet,
including me before Justin Herbert. You do hear that a lot, though, Yeah,
you know, we do have a very There's certain quarterbacks
and maybe it's just you know, over time they've made

(36:09):
a few mistakes and haven't played well on national TV.
But Derek Carr throws a pick six today. They had
a really decent game, but through a pick six, Saints lost.
Had no business losing that game. You would have thought
Derek Carr is the worst person that ever stood on
a football field. Based on social media's reaction to it,
I could go down the list of good Dak Prescott.

(36:32):
Dak Prescott has one bad series and it's like, my gosh,
you're part of this crew too. Oh my gosh. He
can't be a quarterback in the NFL. He's terrible. But
when Justin Herbert has a couple of bad possessions and
things go wrong with Justin Herbert, most people are very
forgiving because they blame everything around him. How do we

(36:55):
decide that with the quarterback? I don't know what, y'alls.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
It's funny because we don't give that same to Justin Fields,
do we even though he had a bad.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
No, not even not even close. It's like we pick
and choose who we give that grace too, right, all right, well,
you know, we'll give this guy a break, this guy
like you mentioned Justin Fields, Oh, Kyler Murray. Look at him.
He's a little person, right. I mean, it's just we
find ways to bile on if you had a bad series.
But with Herbert, Justin in Cincinnati has himself a point,

(37:26):
I think on that one.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Excuses No, it is, there is always but you know
what you're he's right about that.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
But that's just the way it's always been.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Some some quarterbacks you defend, some you go ahead and
you're just ripping.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
Apart game in and game out. That's that's the way
it is, uh Selfie Mark actually has a really good
tweet here that I want to get to. He writes,
there are no moral victories for teams vying for a
playoff spot. The Chargers and Bills kept it close, and
ultimately the Chargers lost, but two coaches in danger of
a firing, the Bill's defense just looks worn down. The

(38:00):
Chargers could not get enough points. The Ravens are now
looking like the front runner in the AFC. So in
other words, Brandon Stanley tries to give the all. You know,
we held him to what they technically hold him to
tonight thirteen. They had the last second touchdown run, but
he's not. There's no moral victories, right, there's college It's

(38:21):
not like you were a twenty eight point underdog and
you're like, oh, I'm.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
So proud of my team. Nobody believed in us that
if we would have just gotten one call. We played
with these guys and have you know on all this
BOLOADI No.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
That's that's I. I can't even believe that that would
be even a factor that he bring that up or something.
You know, No, but I will add I will add
one more thing. It is it is pretty wild. We
we didn't lose a star quarterback today, no offense, Dorian
Thompson Robinson, but we did have another starter get knocked out.
And it's kind of because Justin Herbert went to the

(38:53):
tent and he's had his hand injury and he's had
a couple of things that have affected him this year.
Same for Josh Allen. But you know, in all seriously,
it's kind of they haven't missed the game. It's kind
of as healthy as they've been throughout a season two,
So they don't even have that excuse right now. Herbert
maybe a little bit more right because he's had the
hand injury. But with Alan, I mean, you can't even
blame this on injuries. With what's been a big story

(39:15):
so far this year for quarterbacks, No.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
I mean, I think it was like a perfect storm too.
The schedule, as we mentioned, was just murderous. That has
a lot to do with it also, Plus they just
have not been sharp. It's not been the Buffalo Bill's
football we've seen in the last two to three years,
you know.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
And then this is really good before we put a
wrap an hour one from Colin who writes after Thanksgiving,
I know this. It looks like Jordan Love is improving
and if this progress continues, he's not just trying to
prove he should be the starter next year. It's now
become his job to lose. It's wild because in the
midst of watching several teams in quarterbacks creator Arnie on Thanksgiving,

(39:50):
you and I talked about this a little bit on Friday,
we saw maybe a starry continue to emerge in Green Bay.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
I'd pick a Green Bay up there that's gonna be
one of my picks on my pick segment. Yeah, which
is one of the reasons why he's starting to get
a little Remember I just ripped him what two weekends ago.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
Said, that's it. I seen it up.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
I can't take him anymore. Or maybe three weekends ago.
He is, he's starting to win me over. But it's
taken a long time, slowly, but truly he's starting to
win me over a little bit, you know.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
Then there's this from Fishing Texas Waters. The Chargers are
on the same game plan that ruined Rivers career, same crap,
always almost a win. We'll dive into that more in
depth when we come back. More of your tweets and
who's team season came to an end his next on

As a final, the Ravens beat the Chargers twenty to ten.

(41:12):
We had a discussion about Josh Allen and Justin Herbert
draft talk. I guess ARENI is acceptable for those of
us who have teams that stink. But overall, early morning
not the best today early morning afternoon. The later afternoon
games gave us some drama. Right. The Eagles Bills game
kind of made the whole weekend. The Raiders jumped out

(41:34):
to a fourteen zip lead on the Chief.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
I thought you were gonna pull it off. At that point,
I'm like, oh, here we go. Blake's gonna be happy.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
I thought I thought that we were up seventeen zero
last week in our last year in Arrowhead.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
I was thinking of you on Saturday when BYU had
a what was it, twenty four to seven lead over
Oklahoma State. Yeah, yeah, and I go plags going to
the championship with Oklahoma and you know, let them come back.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Unbelievable. You did send me, quite possibly the most confusing
text I've ever received. What I said, what I said.
So as we welcome you into hour two here on
Fox Sports Radio. Oklaha this week, and there were several
tiebreaker scenarios where my beloved Oklahoma Sooners could play in
the Big Twelve championship game despite losing back to back

(42:23):
games to Oklahoma State and Kansas. It involved BYU, a
five and six football team, beating Oklahoma State and they
were rolling right there, right there. Then you sent me
a text that said, who do you need BYU and

(42:43):
Washington State to win? Why would I need Washington State, Drea?

Speaker 2 (42:49):
I was thinking ahead of time to try to get
you in the top four. I mean Washington to lose
then beat Oregon, so those two drop out. But I
didn't know if you could get into the Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
No, I think I think, unfortunately for those of us, yeah,
that that train had left the station. Okay, all right,
so that forget it because I appreciate the effort.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
Though.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
Right one of my one of my buddies, was with me, goes,
does he think Washington State is in the pack in
the Big twelve? Right now? I'm trying to think.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
I'm trying to get the Washington to lose and the
Oregon to lose, and I was trying to think how
many different ways until you know, Oklahoma can get back
into the top four.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
But it wasn't gonna happen. I think there's eight teams
a lot for the playoffs right now, and it's it's
the top not the top eight. Oh god, no, Now,
it'll be fascinating a year from now if we were
sitting here with this same top twelve. I'm looking at
the ap right now or the coaches pull whatever. If
I would be sitting here pounding the tables and Oklahoma
belongs to the playoffs, areny because you're gonna have seven

(43:52):
at large teams. We don't have an Arizona doesn't have
another game. We left.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
It looks like we'd be on the outside looking at
you would be in the playoff.

Speaker 3 (44:01):
The top twelve. You said, no, you would be in
the playoffs, Arnie. Do you know why you would be
in the playoffs because you would win the Big Twelve?
Oh I see, okay, well that you're the highest ranked
Big twelve team, Yeah, right, right, right right, Come on, man,
embrace this new conference, right.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
You already know we're going to kick the crap out
of everybody in that Boloni conference anyway, So it is
a step down.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
But yeah, I appreciate I appreciate that you had one
good year and now the conference that is dissolving is
a step down for you. But go ahead, preach, king,
tell me more about the greatness of the PAC twelve.
Let's let's be honest. I mean, it's a step down,
and it's not a step down. It was absolutely a
step up for you because the PAC twelve doesn't exist.
You can't talk about a step up, all right, step

(44:46):
down from a place that is dead, gay, finished over.
Nobody wants to be there, the most mismanaged thing on
the planet. And you're trying to tell me, oh, were
they not step down?

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Okay, I'm not talking about the seventy seven year old
Dolly Parton. I'm talking about the twenty three year old
Dolly Partner. Okay, you understand that, right.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
I don't talk even know how that analogy fits.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
I'm not talking about the current PACK twelve. I'm talking
about the old time, you know, back in the day,
when it was like one of the strongest conferences.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
Don't see what it is. That's not the PAC twelve.
That's the PAC ten. Yeah, don't look at it. I'll
fight you about the Big eight. Then you want to
do that. Let's go back to the Southwest Conference. Come on, Arnie,
you can talk about twenty three, twenty four year old
Dolly part and all you want. But as I've been
told a thousand times, the show's tonight, right, So you
can live in the past all you want, but you're

(45:35):
getting a major step up to where you could have been,
which was irrelevance. Well, at least you know you won't
have to play all those thinking night games and the
PAC twelve network, and yeah about that, You're still gonna
have a lot of late night games. Really, you're gonna
play some Friday, You're gonna play some Thursday. By gods,
you're gonna kick off some games at eleven am Central Time.

(45:58):
Welcome to the Big twelve. Welcome to the Big twelve.
But no, so you would be in a year from
today because they'll take the five Power five champions, so well,
I'm sorry, it would be power it's the Power four
and then the fifth is the at large in set
of six six, it's five to seven, So you would
be in next year. I can't wait to see what
that battle is gonna be like for those at large

(46:20):
spots next year. It's gonna be fascinating and I can't
wait to see what happens on Tuesday night, because you've
got a decision to make now. After Florida State swin,
do you bump them back up? You know, what does
happen now? Because they're going to be in the top four? Right?
Do you maybe give Oregon that kiss because of what
they did and dominating Oregon State down the stretch? Does

(46:41):
Texas get it? I don't know, but someone's dropping and
I can't wait to see how far Ohio State drop.
Does Ohio State drop below Texas and Alabama tomorrow night?
That's important. I'm looking.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
I'm gonna be real curious to see when they come
out with the ratings how that's going to play out.
Somebody's not gonna be happy, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
All Right, let's hit week twelve with the national football
He gets Arnie and Plank on a Fox Football Sunday.
Todd Furman is coming up here in just a bit,
and as always, we're brought to you by Progressive Insurance.
Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy

Progressive dot Com. All right, Arnie, let's hit it. Whose

(47:19):
season came to an end? Who saved their season? Where
do you want to start, Well, we'll pick it up
right where we left off. The Buffalo Bills. I really
believe this season came to an end. It's OvR. Now.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
I know when you're looking to go what are you
talking about? What are they six and six or something
like that. Six they're still right there in the thick
of things. But they're still buying Indianapolis, the behind the Texas,
they're behind Denver. Even Cincinnati has six losses, plus they
got a tough schedule with Kansas City and Dallas coming up.
They've not looked good. It's not the same Buffalo Bill's

(47:50):
team it is. It's over. This is not only is
the season's over.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
As I said.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
Earlier, Now there's a lot of doubt. Are you gonna
make a coaching chain, What are you gonna do with Diggs?
How many big you got Are you gonna have to
get yourself a running back?

Speaker 3 (48:05):
How many people you got to bring on in?

Speaker 2 (48:07):
It's tough to get people to come to the Buffalo
as a free agent. So what's the next step for them?
But I think I think it's a tough go now
for the Buffalo Bills. I think they lose the next two.

Speaker 3 (48:17):
Is that a scientifically proven fact that it's tough to
get free agents to come to Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
Well, I'll throw it in there and then prove me wrong.
So I'll just throw it in there.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
I just kind of always thought you went where the
most money was and where you thought you could win.
But okay, how about this for a team whose season
came to an in and I'm not even looking at today, Arnie,
I'm gonna go back to Thursday if we play that
game where we look at the playoffs and talk about
who's in or who's out. Right now. The Seattle Seahawks
are still in the playoffs right right, But their season

(48:48):
came to an end this week. Wow, I'm surprised you
went to them out of all the teams. I Well,
here's why, because number one, it's Gino Smith has finally
realized he's Gino Smith, and he's hurt, old, he's old.
The Seahawks have lost three of their last four games
after being five and two, and get this upcoming schedule

(49:09):
at Dallas next Thursday night, at San Francisco and home
for Philadelphia. That sounds like a five row. That sounds
like a five game losing streak. So again you're looking
at a team that had the five game lose three
in a row, so that would make it five total.
That's a team that could be sitting at six and

(49:30):
eight by the time that's I mean, which game would
you pick the Seahawks to win in that run? Right?
I don't think any of them the beatas so all
of a sudden, they go from knocking on the door
of the playoffs to maybe even being one of the
final seeds. I think they're done. Arnie, chalk up Seattle.
And by the way, that's a shout out to the
one Seahawks fan that checks in with us. All Right,
anymore season end or you want to go on the

(49:50):
positive side.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
We all though there's two more. I wonder my mom
was gonna be with your raiders. I mean, in five
and seven, I don't see them turning around. Had they
beaten the Chiefs today, calling the six and seven, I'd
say they have a legitimate shot of making the playoffs
out there no abs and you know, matter of fact
that they just turned around one game.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
But it's just not gonna work for them. Unfortunately it
was for the Chiefs. You had that lead, fourteen to nothing,
was tied up at halftime. You knew at that point
you were just giving the game away the way you
did it right before halftime.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
Unfortunately, it's just not gonna work out. Though you knew
it wasn't gonna work out.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
No kidding me. I stopped watching, and when it was
fourteen to zero, I just knew that's as happy as
I would be. And you said you had one more
because I was gonna the Chargers. I was gonna file
on the Chargers. I mean, but we already did that
the whole first hours. I felt like that was the
whole first hour, all right, before Todd joins us, let's
go positive. I want to go first here. Team that

(50:45):
saved its season, the Pittsburgh Steelers. And it's not just
because they beat a pretty bad Bengals team sixteen to ten.
And I'm still having a hard time wrapping my arm
or my arms around celebrating an offensive coordinator chain that
worked and you only scored sixteen points. But apparently adding

(51:05):
Eddie Faulkner to call these plays work, Tarney, because the
Pittsburgh Steelers a mass four hundred and twenty four total yards.
It's their most yard since twenty eighteen. Now again, having
a hard time wrapping my arm my mind around the
fact that you had all these yards, and you had
all this success and you only scored sixteen points. Right,

(51:27):
I'm gonna say it didn't result in points for a
while there. But you're suddenly pretty solidly in the wild
card conversation right now, You've got what a game lead
over that seventh spot lit the worst seven and fourteen
in football history. I think we've got a lot of
bats seven and fourteen in the NFL right now. To
be honest with Yarni, but I think they saved their

(51:48):
season by just making the offensive coordinator change and getting
a little positivity going there. All right.

Speaker 2 (51:54):
And we say this about this team every week, because
I had wrote them off after like four week five,
and then we said, oh, maybe they saved their season
Week six, seven, eight nine. Talking about the Denver Broncos.
Every time, I'm like, Okay, you better win this game,
you better go ahead and show on up.

Speaker 3 (52:12):
And what have they done? All they do is keep
on winning and now they're six and five ac Gually,
the Colts Texans and Broncos and five. The Colts have
that last playoff spot. Obviously plenty of games up, six
more games left, so that will work its way out.
But the Broncos right there in the thickest things to
get a playoff spot. And it's funny that you mentioned

(52:34):
the Indianapolis Colts because I put them in a group
that saved their season today, and I'll be honest, I
forgot they were playing football. I feel like their games
are never really kind of showcased on the red zone.
I watch a lot of red zone when the Colts
are playing. I don't know if they have they had
any primetime games so far this season. They had that

(52:56):
stinker with the Colts, that ten to six game they won,
and then all of a sudden I looked up and
it's like, oh, they're in the playoffs right now with
the season word end today and they're doing it with
Gardner minshew. So even though they said audios to Shack
Leonard and I thought that was a cool tribute they
paid to him today, but count count the Colts as

(53:18):
a team that kind of saved their season here for
me today. By the way, did you hear the alarm
on the Red Zone channel today. You know what I
didn't I missed that. I saw Twitter freaking out. I
never have the volume usually up on it. Oh so
I usually I just am watching the highlights, but Twitter
was freaking out, so I went back and then I
saw it. Whenever it happened, are the alarms. When it happened,

(53:38):
they had to leave the studio. There was no Holst,
Hanson had to leave. There was nobody in the control room,
so they just had to leave the game on just
one game out there?

Speaker 2 (53:49):
Can you imagine having some lunatics sneaking into the control
room and then take it over Hanson's job for a
little bit, going, man, come on, my dolphins, let's go,
let's go doing something like that.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Well, how funny with that be? You really think about
these things in a much different way than I knew,
because you're like, man, what if some crazy guy gets
in there and just starts cheering for the Dolphins. I'm like,
what if they can't get back in what if it's
just stuck on one game? How do you remotely move
things around? You're like, no, what if some crazy dude
get to there? It takes over the point it.

Speaker 2 (54:20):
Was at the end of the game though, so you know,
really didn't have to worry. It was towards the end
of Yeah day. But that was crazy.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
I was glad everyone was okay, all right, you guys
can hit us up at Steinking Genius one. I'm at
playing show. Who do you see that either saved their
season or their season came to an end. I noticed
there were zero submission for the Giants on that as
far as say yeah season.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Because I mean, you got the Vitos quarterback and like
I said, congratulations on the win. That's that's three hours
of my life. I'm never going to get back ten
to seven. And that was my game on the other TV?

Speaker 3 (54:56):
Was it? Really? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (54:57):
I could have put on Pittsburgh and I decided to
keep on that one.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
And what a mistake that one was?

Speaker 2 (55:02):
What a I mean, the Giants just gutted it out,
but that was an ugly game to watch. Mac Jones
is not a starting quarterback in the NFL. Zappi's not
a starting quarterback in the NFL. I don't even know
if Zapi could have made my you know, my intermural
team back in college. That's how bad it is.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
It's just horrible what they got going on all right.
When we come back, Todd Furman will take us through
the numbers from week twelve and the countdown to the
conference championship games in college football. It's all coming up
on a busy Sunday night here on Fox Sports Radio.
Oh yes, it's Arnie Span you're over there. I'm Chris Plaank.

(55:42):
Thanks for spending your Sunday nights into a Monday with
this recap in Week twelve of the NFL and of
course the final regular season weekend of college football. Todd
Furman The bet to Board, a podcast great Twitter follow at.
Todd Furman joins us. Good day, bad day for the books.
How did it go over all, Todd?

Speaker 6 (55:58):
Not exactly the way they wanted to finish things up.
When you get a very public favorite coming home in
the form of the Baltimore Ravens late at night, and
you look elsewhere on the board. Public kind of had
their way with a lot of games. You saw the
Rams move from pick them out to minus three. They
win that game by three touchdowns. Plus Denver took money
from professional betters and recreational likes. So the afternoon schedule
not exactly the way the house would have liked to

(56:20):
draw up the slate overall don on Saturday, I.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
Have to assume the majority of people were all over
Ohio State plus the points in that game, though Public.

Speaker 6 (56:29):
Definitely came into Ohio State. They thought it was an
opportunity to try and back the buck guys who had
been trending up. And of course the late field goal
the Michigan kicks of the shade over a minute ago
changes the dynamic of who gets to cover there. Overall,
when you look at the landscape of the college football
night scheduled, books benefit quite handsomely from Cal not only
covering but winning out right against UCLA and very similar

(56:51):
on folding the San Diego State pulling off the minor
upset against Presno State as well.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
You know, I'm curious. I am not the biggest conference
championship game fan, especially you know, seeing what it's going
to look like when the playoffs expand at twelve. But
are the events that Better is look forward to. Are
they heavily waged upon events or is it more bowl
games in playoffs?

Speaker 6 (57:10):
In college football, anytime you put a game on the
schedule where the recreational better doesn't have to question the
motivation of the two teams competing, it's going to drive
an incremental betting handle above and beyond some of the
speculation that takes place over the final weeks of the
regular season. Now, I mean a game between New Mexico
State and Liberty on Friday night not exactly going to
move the neal for sports books anymore than some of

(57:31):
the minor conferences while on Saturday. But when you have
a game like Georgia Alabama smack Dab in the middle
of a Saturday, it is definitely of interest. The problem
for sports books is when you have numbers as large
as Michigan a twenty three point favorite, it doesn't really
you know, speak to the recreational better who wants to
try and get involved with just picking a winner and
with some of the other storylines that you have to

(57:52):
consider when you're handicapping the e SEC title. It kind
of changes that dynamic as well.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
Todd, you know what, when there's a fire and alarm
goes off, every but he just leaves the building.

Speaker 3 (58:01):
Is there an alarm or like a bad signal go up?

Speaker 2 (58:04):
When you see a line like Washington plus nine and
a half where you have to run to the casino
and get all your money, because that's like stealing, right,
I mean, that's a given.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
Nine and a half. What are you crazy you're gonna
get me nine and a half?

Speaker 6 (58:17):
I mean I I apparently you haven't watched Washington over
the last six weeks, would be that enamorated with the
current form of the Huskies now. It is a big number,
and it's a big number within reason given Oregon's current
form a team right now. That would be only a
field goal underdug if they were to play Georgia on
a neutral field. So it speaks to exactly how oddsmakers
view the Ducks in their current construct. Washington, meanwhile, I mean,

(58:38):
they've been flirting with disaster there each of the last
handful of weeks, slipping by Washington State on Saturday in
the Apple Cup. They weren't exactly great in the elements
against Oregon State, And if you just use a comparative
score between those games, you can understand why Oregon an
overwhelming favorite in this contest with revenge for a game
that you can make the case that they were the
better team in Seattle where Washington ends up getting a
push winning that game by a field goal.

Speaker 3 (59:00):
You know it was it was weird today because I
was thinking there was a moment where all right, maybe
the Bengals have something with this brown and kid, and
that quickly came to an end. But did Pittsburgh's offense,
even though it only scored sixteen points, did that give
you a hope for them Todd going forward that you know,
maybe at some point this can be a little bit
more explosive and problematic for their opponents going forward.

Speaker 6 (59:22):
I mean, they were a little bit more dynamic to
your point, on offense. They got pat Freyermouth involved in
and he's a key kag in their ability to stretch
the middle of the field. You still would have liked
them to see them score more than sixteen points than
what they put up there. But they finally end a
fifty eight game streak of not being able to eclipse
four hundred yards. But you know, until you see them
step up in class, I think you have to reserve

(59:43):
judgment for how this team is going to look offensively
with a little bit of a change at the helm.
But fortunately for the Steelers, I mean, their schedule when
you look at upcoming weeks not exactly the most daunting
by any stretch of the imagination. They'll be nearly a
touchdown favorite this week against Arizona. They'll get a New
England team that is a glorified dumb fire on a
short week, and then you get the Bengals at home

(01:00:03):
Sandwich Danny road trip to Indianapolis before they'll finish with
two difficult games on the Highway. But I mean, this
is a Steelers team at seven and four that just
probably has to find a way to win three more
games to get in the playoffs. And that's all any
team should ever want this league.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Todd, how are you handicapping these teams in the NFL
that are going to second street quarterbacks like the veto
or like Thompson over with with the with the Browns
and stuff like that. You know, how do you handicap that?

Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
You have numerical evaluations that you try and adjust your
point spread and power ratings based on the change under center.
I mean, Tommy DeVito right now second highest QBR amongst
all rookie quarterbacks, behind only c. J.

Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
Stroud.

Speaker 6 (01:00:42):
So for everybody that wanted to throw the baby out
with the bath water, he's out performing some of the
other folks in the rookie class. And the Giants defense
obviously helping quite a bit, forcing nine turnovers over the
last couple of weeks. But you know, you have to
be fluid. When you have a limited sample size on
a lot of these younger quarterbacks, it makes things that
much more challenging. And of course you mentioned the situation
with Dorian Thompson Robinson going to be in concussion protocol

(01:01:05):
this week. I have about a one and a half
to two point drop off from him to PJ Walker,
who arguably may be one of the worst rostered quarterbacks
in terms of the overall impact on the.

Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Number do you have. I know they're ten to one,
and I know they keep pointing Todd, but do you
have concerns about the Eagles right now or do you
think they're they're doing what they need to do to
get ready for the postseason.

Speaker 6 (01:01:25):
I have plenty of concerns. I mean, you can only
flirt with disaster for so long before it catches up
to you. And we look at what Philadelphia has done
in recent weeks. They haven't won these games by convincing margins.
I mean, you have to withstand a late goal line
push from the Dallas Cowboys, then you need to erase
a halftime deficit to win on the road and Arrowhead,
and you had to race a double digit deficit today

(01:01:45):
that included a sixty plus yard field goal in the
elements even force overtime. I know people like to talk
all the time about teams being clutch and finding another
gear where you can win these games, and that's an
extremely valuable piece to have when it comes to confidence
and belief in the locker room. But when you're not
finding a way to separate from these opponents, you subject
yourself to a lot of late game variants. And the

(01:02:06):
deeper you get into the playoffs, the better the opponent's
the more difficult it is to do to get every
fifty to fifty bounce your way. And I think when
you look at Philadelphia now sitting at ten and one
with a plus sixty four point differential, that doesn't say
dominant team by any stretch of the imagination. However unpopular
it may be with Eagles fans who believe this team
is as good, if not better than the way that
the team was constructed last year in route to getting

(01:02:28):
to the Super Bowl in Phoenix, DoD.

Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Forget about dominant. It is over for the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
It's done Mage. Plus we mentioned they have Kansas City
and Dallas coming up. There's no playoffs for you, my friend.

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
They're done. It's going to have to have some major
changes there.

Speaker 6 (01:02:46):
A very damaging loss today, no doubt about it when
you look at what that could have done, sending them
into the by at seven and five, with that difficult
schedule that you mentioned coming up, I mean three of
the remaining five games on the bill schedule, not only
as it can the city in Dallas, but you finish
up with a road trip to Miami. You'll get a
divisional foe in New England. No matter how bad they are.
I'm sure they would love to play spoiler, although I'm

(01:03:07):
not sure they can be a good high school team
with the quarterback play they're getting right now and a
road trip on the Saturday before Christmas out to play
the Chargers. So when you look at Buffalo, I think
they have to go four and one in their next
five games to get to the ten win threshold to
get into the AFC playoff picture. And I just don't
see that unfolding. Knowing the defense can't always get timely stops,
and they let the offense down today with some questionable

(01:03:28):
play calling in terms of surrendering field position to give
up that long field goal, and then of course not
being able to get off the field in overtime.

Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
Todd, did you get a chance to watch phar mcgaeddin
in the snow on Saturday night?

Speaker 6 (01:03:41):
I didn't know Iowa State was not able to hit
that many big plays. I mean, over the last seventy
plus contests, Iowa State had had four touchdowns and more
than sixty yards and out there it looked like a
flag football game or what you would play in the
Turkey Bowl with Arnie's family right after Thanks Giving up
there in Burlington, Vermont. But you know, sure enough, Matt
Campbell got more out of this roster. I mean, at
one point in the game, what I think they had

(01:04:02):
thirty five points and they'd run two plays in plus territory.
I mean, if that doesn't describe some of the ridiculousness
you get in the final week of the regular season,
I'm not sure what what doese?

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
The time of possession advantage was forty two minutes to seventeen.
Kansas State ran thirty two. I had thirty two first downs,
Iowa State had ten geez and Kansas State lost by touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
I got.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
I don't know how it appened, Todd, but I'm glad
that you were paying attention.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
All right, And Todd went to Todd, I just want
you to know I'm gonna be calling for Arizona not
to go to a bowl game if we have to
play a bolone team like Oklahoma State or Minnesota some
garbage like that. Either we played Notre Dame in the Fiesta.

Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Bowl or we're out. We're out this year, that's all.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:04:47):
I don't know if they're gonna play Notre Dame in
the Fiesta Bowl. But credit to Arizona. You said they
would go out there and put a crooked number up
in the Territorial Cup when we chatted. They went out
there and he did Oddsmaker's expectations. We'll see if they
were able to roll that momentum into the postseason. But
have to imagine a lot of WILDCAF fans excited about
the prospects. And I'm sure Arnie, you'll be counting the days,

(01:05:07):
the minutes, in the hours until they draw the third
seeded team coming out of the Mountain List.

Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
But I just yeah, because I don't want garbage like that.
Why Did you just bet a gazillion dollars on Arizona
over Arizona State?

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
That was that easy, Todd, I don't understand.

Speaker 6 (01:05:20):
I mean, if they were all that easy. As much
as I love spending my Sunday nights with you guys,
I probably wouldn't be doing so, Arnie. And if I
had the scores of the games played yesterday and I
could go back and bet on them ahead of time,
just like bifted and back to the future too, this
endeavor would be a lot more profitable that it's been
so far for me this season.

Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
Thanks Tod, have a great week. Thanks to always a pleasure. Boys.
You do the same, all right, that's Todd Firman. Let's
get caught up on everything else that's going on in
the world of sports. Martin Wiss is in the house.
What's up, Martin? What's going on? Fellas?

Speaker 5 (01:05:49):
Sunday football just wrapped up, had three less games because
of Thanksgiving, leasely, but those were all enjoyable and we
got one more tomorrow night. But the Ravens just beat
the Charges twenty to ten, and z Flowers he had
two touchdowns, one rushing, room receiving. You may remember Los
Angeles took Ricky Y receiver Quentin Johnston, famous for his
job in Green Bay, one pick before Baltimore picked Flowers,

(01:06:10):
and a report out of the Baltimore locker room Kyle
Hamilton made a joke saying they were quote ready to
unstrap the pads, and we're a little salty that Zay
Flowers put it into the end zone right there, because
he could have gone down to the one yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
I know this. You just talked to Todd Furman, Ravens Betters.

Speaker 5 (01:06:26):
We're not salty one bit because that touchdown made it
over three and a half for the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
I was one of them, So thank you very much,
Zay Flowers. Hah.

Speaker 5 (01:06:34):
Earlier today, the Eagles beat the Bills on a game
when he touched on run from Jalen Hurts. Final score
thirty seven to thirty four. Eagles move on to a
league best ten and one. Kansas City Rebounds finally scored
some second half points seventeen of them to be exact,
to beat the Raiders thirty one to seventeen. Marcus Peters
was benched in this game, and they said it was
a coach's decision, but he did not seem too happy.

(01:06:54):
About said coach's decision. Antonio Pierce, of course, interim head coach.
There Falcons beat the Saints twenty four to fifteen in
a game that set offense back Atlanta, now atop the
NFC South with a five and six record. Because somebody's
got to win it, Pittsburgh won its first game since
fireing offensive coordinator Matt Canada's Steelers had over four hundred
yards offense, which is more than they had in any
game with Canada calling the plays, sixteen to ten win

(01:07:17):
over the Cincinnati and backup quarterback Jake Browning Jaguars tink
a commanding two game leading to the AFC South with
a twenty four to twenty one win over the Texans.

(01:09:20):
producer you've been talking about all this time. I've never
really understood this take that you have to disrespect your coworkers.
But he's gonna send you some maple surrup and some
cheese in like two weeks for a Christmas game. You
can be mean all season long. Josh hits us up
on Twitter. It's best way to stay in touch with
the show throughout the program Tonight, and Josh writes, you

(01:09:44):
gotta throw the packers into the group that save their season.
They've got Kansas City next, then at the Giants, at
the Bucks, at the Panthers, at Minnesota, and home versus
the Bears. Very favorable schedule, especially with the Seahawks next
away games. Is all in a row. That can't be
all all in a row? Is in four road games.

(01:10:05):
Let me let me check his work here real quick.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
By the way, to see the guy that sent us
the stats. Comparing Jordan Love the Jalen Hurts. I would
have said, no way, that that can't be possible, that
that's that's not right. But they pretty much have the
same exact stats out there.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
It's amazing. I never never would have guessed that, Chris.
It's three of four that are on the road. They're
home for Kansas City next Sunday night, and then it's
at the Giants, home for the Bucks, at Carolina, at Minnesota.
So that's how it works out. You forget, though, Jalen
Hurts didn't set the world on fire when he started
his first year, right right. I mean they struggled quite

(01:10:43):
a bit early. You weren't a big fan of his.
I know that early. I wasn't a big fan coming
out of college, just as a starting NFL quarterback locker
room guy. You know depth guy. I thought, heck, yeah, man,
go get him. But as far as ever being a
starting quarterback in the NFL, never thought that. And he's
become an absolute rock star. But Jordan Love's stats, oh,

(01:11:03):
this is just this year. I thought I thought this was, uh,
the one you're talking about, the one of the free
sports sent us, Right, yeah, that's that's this year. You're
talking that's just this year. Sorry, that's just the well,
I mean, fairness arts didn't have a really great start
to this year either. He was throwing quite a few picks.
But that's still amazing what Jordan Love has up there, well,
especially when he doesn't have the supporting cast right that

(01:11:25):
a Jalen Hurts has. Now we can start the argument,
if you want to go back and really break down
the tape. How much of Jordan Love's stat padding came
in garbage time? Right? How much of this came when
they were down three scores. But I'm still taking Jalen
Hurts if I can right now. Absolutely, it's not even
the question. You're right about that, that's that's not going

(01:11:46):
to be too much for the people at home.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
They Jalen Hurts has maybe one hundred more yards passing
Jordan Love nineteen touchdowns, Hurts eighteen, and they both have
ten interceptions.

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
So that's that's mind boggling and real quick from Mark.
I don't watch the games because I work overnights and
eat my sleep, But my Vikings blew a huge opportunity
last Saturday night when they gave the Broncos the w
They played Detroit two times in the last three weeks. Well,
I don't know if I'm too concerned about that because

(01:12:17):
I saw them and I don't. I'm not ready to
bail in the Lions. But they look terrible on Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
And the Vikings are a six seed right now, so
they're right there. They're gonna get Jefferson the come on back.
So if they ever get the running game said straight,
they they can surprise a lot of team. I want
to see what happens with those two bottom feeders in
the NFC. I want to see all the Vikings for
this shop. I can't believe they're in this position right now.

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
All right, Rogers firing warning shots at your Dolphins. We'll
dive into that when we come back. Plus some statistical
notes from the day that was. As we roll on
and wrap up Week twelve in the NFL, it's Arnie
and Plank on a Fox Football Sunday. A couple of
notes for you here, Arnie, as we come to you
live from the tire rack dot Com studios, tire rack

(01:13:02):
dot Com The way tire buying should be. Here's a
few CJ. Stroud becomes the first rookie in NFL history
history with three hundred yards in four consecutive games yards pass,
It's possible. Hey man, I'm not making this stuff up.

(01:13:22):
Comes from NFL. You don't think that it's you think
that it's happened before. I were straight games for a
rookie quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
I would have thought that it was happened many times before.
That didn't seem like that's that hard. I'm shocked that
you said he's the first one to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
But you gotta remember not a lot of rookie quarterbacks
are always playing starting for great teams either well good teams,
I should say. See Houston seems to be a pretty
good team and there are There's only been two players
with thirteen hundred receiving yards and ten or more touchdowns
in a season before December one, of those came in

(01:13:59):
two thousand and that was Tory Holt. He did it
in twelve games, right, Tyreek Kill has done it in eleven.
Tried to tell you will you just said one point, say, yeah,
that's pretty wild. You're trying to like cash You're trying
to cash out these tickets in these receipts. Like you
don't say this every single year with this team.

Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
I didn't say you'd have two thousand yards. But when
he put that into my head, I'm like, who knows,
maybe he.

Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
Could pull it off, you know. Micah Parsons joins a
group that includes Dwight Freeney and Reggie White as players
with eleven or more sacks in each of their first
three seasons. And one story we haven't talked about yet
tonight is I'd like to go back and draft her
On Bland. More interception returns for touchdowns in a single
season than any player in NFL history.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Unbelievable, And part of that is, you know, being in
the right place at the right time. But it's phenomenal.
Absolutely a great job, no doubt about that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
All right off Twitter tonight, Roger the engineer rights, I
know this, which we'll get into right off to the
top of the hour. I know this. It took Philly's
best game to beat the Chiefs when they weren't near
their best offensively, even though it was the Raiders. The
slowdown is over. The AFC still goes through Arrowhead.

Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
It's fun to dream otherwise, aren't you know?

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
With the way it looks like in the standings, it's
gonna be tough. I mean for the fight out for
that number one seed. I'm not so sure if if
the road's gonna go through Arrowhead, if they're not the
number one seed, you know what I mean, I think
it maybe they have to be.

Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
The number one seed for them to say it goes
through Arrowhead. Well, they're not out of it either. No, no,
not at all.

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
But five teams are well, at least four teams are
eight and three. That's amazing in its own right, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
Yeah, then we were reading the thing about how well
it just seems like the AFC just isn't all that deep,
and it's like, well, there's like four teams at eight
and three right now, the top four seeds, the top
four division winners that would have a home playoff game
are all eight and three. Meanwhile, you've got a team
in the NFC that's gonna make the playoffs with a
losing record, probably right, Yeah, that all Baldy Again.

Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
Matter of fact, one game separates the top six teams
in the AFC, so it's gonna be a dogfight for
that number one seed in the AFC. And as you mentioned,
Dolphins with a very easy schedule, well so does Jacksonville.
So I'm curious to see, you know, if they're able
to grab it. Could you imagine if Jacksonville gets the
number one seed, and I'm curious to see where Kansas

(01:16:27):
City is gonna end up.

Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Also, well, Kansas City goes to Green Bay next Sunday night.
Then they've got Buffalo, a road trip to New England,
the Raiders, the Bengals, and the Chargers. That's all that time,
right right, so everyone? And then I haven't really looked
to in depth of Jacksonville's but here's what their final
six look like. And it's funny because all the Cincinnati

(01:16:51):
games you thought in the preseason or even in the
early part of the season, look out, Well, now they
get Cincinnati next weekend, followed by a trip to Cleveland.
Then for Baltimore. Then it's at Tampa home for Carolina
at Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Oh my goodness, Baltimore is the only game they've that's
the only game that's that they could lose. They're gonna
win every other game. Besides that, you might as well
give them the number one seed.

Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
Well I haven't really given you the Ravens either. They
they beat the Chargers tonight, they get the Rams next weekend, right,
they get But that's a big game in two weeks
because on Sunday Night Football it is the Ravens and
the Jaguars. Ravens have to turn around. They travel to
San Francisco for a Monday night football game right before

(01:17:34):
finishing with Miami in Pittsburgh. So infinitely tougher for the
Ravens than I think any of the other fourteenth I.

Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
Think I want the Ravens to beat the Jaguars, but
I think the Ravens will lose down the road, which
Miami could maybe capture the number one seed, so.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
You have a tiebreaker over none of those teams.

Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
Though I know that that's what bothered Miami's is the
number four seed right now, they don't get them, but
that's only because they don't get because of strength the
victory that will change real easy.

Speaker 3 (01:17:58):
How will that change? Really? Who are you gonna beat
that's gonna give you a better strength of victory? You
haven't beaten a team over five hundred yet? Yeah, Well,
Jacksonville is a week schedule though the rest of the way, right,
but they're still gonna win and you might lose games.
Their schedule is no more laid back than yours is.

Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
We've beaten Patsy's like you wouldn't believe. It's just horrible.
It's embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Yeah, and you get Washington next week, and then you
get Tennessee and the Jets tell me about your strength
of victory improving again.

Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
Three to eleven is what it is right now. Jacksonville's
over five hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
Yeah, you're not gonna get much better at this thing on.
I will say though, it was kind of funny in
looking over the numbers because I think we brought it
up in the teams that saved their seasons. This is
really pretty incredible when you think about the Denver Broncos
had seventy put on them seventy points seventy what three
to be exact, No, it was straight up seventy right, Yeah,

(01:18:52):
seventy points seventy to twenty right. They've been a different
team every since, and that included losing a game to
the Jets right in that stretch. And they gonna mighta
be gonna put one hundred on him if they wanted to. Sure,
And right now they're the hottest thing going in the NFL.
And it's not like they're cooking teams either. Today they
took care of Cleveland, but it was a one point

(01:19:13):
went over Minnesota, a two point went over Buffalo, one point,
a two point went over Green Bay. But there's something
to be said about finding a way to win a game.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
Russell Wilson's not only saving his job, he's saving his career. Remember, like,
who's gonna watch this guy after this year? After they
go like with three wins, this guy's career is done
or he's gonna be a backup.

Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
Wow, what a turnaround this has been. How much credit
do you give because you don't give coaches credit for anything,
but how much credit do you give to Sean Payton then?
For this?

Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Oh you gotta give him a lot, don't you. I mean,
just like we're blaming him for the start that they have.
I gotta give him the credit for least turning around,
So I gotta gotta go ahead and give it to him.

Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
That's certainly a great turnaround.

Speaker 7 (01:19:54):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
We got a Monday night football game coming up tomorrow
night that well, listen. I don't know the kind to
put this. Sorry Eric, Sorry Vikings fans, Sorry boss man,
he's playing the Bears. I don't really know how we
can shine that baby up. But we'll get a little
preview of Monday Night football coming up next hour. We'll
hit the locker room here with the coaches. Say we
got a progressive play of the day Arnie's picks. But

(01:20:15):
when we come back after Week twelve of the National

Speaker 2 (01:21:07):
I can't believe in other football seasons almost over. I'm
sorry they have anxiety about it, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
Well, we still have a long way to go with
the NFL, and you know, the college likes to drag
it out a bit with the long wait between the
end of the season and the playoffs and the bowl game.
I mean, next year we'll basically get the twelve team
playoff rankings and then we'll have college football playoff games
like right away, yeah, the week after right, yeah, fourteenth.

(01:21:36):
So I love it. That'll be fun. I'm really excited
to see how that develops, as you know, topic and reaction.
And if we're sitting here a year from now, the
good Lord willing, and we're recapping like week well, by
that point will be like thirteen fourteen of the NFL,
and it's like and then it's is rabid for the

(01:21:56):
first round of the playoffs because they'll be on home
sides too.

Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
In the oh, we're gonna have putty to talk about
with the new conferences started. Oh my goodness, next year,
that's gonna be well, story with it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
You know the schedule, So how different truly is it
gonna be? We know who they're playing and we know
when the games are gonna be. I mean are It's
just gonna feel different, I think more than anything else.

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
Right, And you know what USC and u c l
A moving and you guys in Texas moving to the SEC.
That's gonna be fantastic. You know what I mean that
that's gonna be awesome for you.

Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
I hope. So, I mean, it's kind of scary to
be honest with you, going to the best conference in
college football. All right. The game of the day, no
argument here, right, Eagles Bills and the way that it
finished real quick. Before we get to what we learned
here was Jalen Hurts. After the game, he talked about
finding a way to get it done, finding a way

(01:22:50):
to get that dub mister win the week. Mister want
to oh Jalen Hurts, So you just.

Speaker 8 (01:22:56):
Want to continue to drive for more and they're staring,
you know, but I think in those moments is true
you never want to get you out of and get you
to you know, found a way in the end.

Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Man happen Jalen Hurts standing a room away from the
recording device for that one. Here's Nick Sirianni on Jalen Hurts.
Maybe this would be a little bit better for you.

Speaker 9 (01:23:19):
To know that he's clutching a big clutch for us,
and clutch for the city and clutch for this team
for the past you know, three years now and or
you know, and so you know, just he just kept
you know, going, and what is that that and worked?

Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
Does he get any MVP consideration or is it all
Lamar Jackson? Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
Remember everybody's putting their vote toward Lamar, right, I mean,
that's that's the way it looks like right now.

Speaker 3 (01:23:44):
You know where my vote's going, of course, so you
know where's your vote going.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Well, if they win the division, what do you have
to vote before the playoffs?

Speaker 3 (01:23:52):
Is that what it against in there? I believe? So yeah, yeah,
so that's gonna hurt too a little bit, hurt him
big time. So two would be your MVVA right now. Well,
if yeah, the wait till after they won the Super Bowl,
it would be thanks for playing along, Lone. Alright, I'm
gonna stop accepting your stupid syrup as a president, so
you have to engage in this show and take part

(01:24:14):
in our stupid little petty sports talk all right. After
week twelve, you know this, no more audio, no more
trying to get numbers and realities in here. Let's get
your reality, Arnie. What did you learn after week twelve? This?

Speaker 2 (01:24:26):
Oh, I probably knew this beforehand, but man, there's a
lot of bad teams in the NFL. I'm talking like
about like ten to eleven really really bad teams. Where
there's as many bad teams over the years, Chris, Yes,
we've had our bad teams, and teams.

Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
Were like are they gonna win a game?

Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
Or they only have one winner or something like that. Man,
there's even teams that have three or four wins.

Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
They're just awful, you know, like Washington or Chicago or
Arizona or Carolina, the Patriots, the Jets, I mean even
the Chargers, the Titans. All these are bad teams are
not even fun to watch. Do we have that many
bad teams? Going through the years, Chris or what well?
I mean, yeah, we're about where we typically are as

(01:25:10):
far as record wise, where teams are. I just can
I tell you what I think it is. It's injuries.
That's injuries, Yeah, yeah, and injuries and poor roster, poor
roster creation the Patriots, poor roster, Cardinals, Panthers, bad roster,
the Bears. You all just gush all over Ryan Pace

(01:25:31):
so far. He has been a terrible general manager for
the Chicago Bears. Poor roster, same with the Giants. I
guess maybe good coaching last year masks some of it. Patriots, Jets,
Titans bad rosters, aren't he? I mean right? But what's
funny is it's kind of typically where we are in
the NFL season. I just feel like we've had so

(01:25:52):
many backup quarterbacks and offense is that you know, it's
few and far between that they're really clicking. It's really
becoming a defensive game. So yeah, I think you're onto something.
It's just it's not esthetically pleasing. Football might be a
better way to put it too.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
Right, greet, But we're getting a lot of unders because
of it, and they're gonna have to keep lowering and
lowering the line, but it can only lower it so much.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
In the NFL. After Week twelve, I know this. I
watched Kansas City, well, I watch about every Kansas City
game because they're always on h I know they beat
the Raiders today, and I know that it was relatively
easy after falling behind fourteen to zero. But kind of
like Philly, it's like as good as they are, Philly's

(01:26:36):
ten in one, Kansas City is eight and three. But
for some reason, I just don't feel overly confident about
them right now. And I hope I'm saying this on
the Sunday before the Super Bowl as they're playing in
the AFC NFC Championship games, where I'll finally be like, damn, dude,
just get over it. They're that good. I don't know
what it is. The Raiders had so many opportunities. They

(01:26:57):
just blew in that game to stay in it. Philadelphia
had so much the opportunities to blow in the last
two weeks, or they should be on a two game
losing streak. I guess I should be more what's the
way to put it, like more of supportive because they
are still winning these games. But I don't know any
something just seems off about both of those teams right now.

Speaker 2 (01:27:18):
No, you're right, You're right. There's nobody dominant, is what
it is? Even Yeah there Yodelfia ten and one is
not as dominant. By the way, if we get the
two number three seeds in the super Bowl, I'm not
coming into work that day. That's Jacksonville and Detroit. If
that's gonna be the super Bowl, I'm gonna take that
day off.

Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
Chris, I just you, Well, you've told me for the
last seven hundred shows we've done that it's gonna get that,
it's gonna be Miami, So why would you even be
worried about it?

Speaker 2 (01:27:44):
Not too worried, But I'll just say they're both the
number three seed right now, so I'm not too worried.
But and I will tell you this after week twelve.
I know this. This is the first time in a
long time, and you'll probably correct me if I'm wrong.
The AFC AFC period is so top heavy it's crazy.
Like I told you, one game separates pretty much the

(01:28:08):
top six teams. Though Baltimore is at nine and three.
They didn't get their bye weekends, so they'll they'll go
ahead get a week.

Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Off this week. This week for them and the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
That is amazing, absolutely amazing that there's so many teams
with good records that high up.

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
So maybe it will work its way out.

Speaker 2 (01:28:25):
We'll see what happens there, but that's going to be
quite a fight, not only for the one seed but
the rest of the you know who's gonna get you know,
I was gonna play out out for the two, three,
and four seeds.

Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
Let me push back on this just a bit. How
many AFC teams right now when you look one through
low de w sixteen, how many would you look at
and say, yeah, I think this many? Are these teams
are super Bowl? True super Bowl contenders right now? Well,
I would say Baltimore, Kansas City, Miami, and I would

(01:28:56):
put Jacksonville. It'd be those four teams right there. How
many would you put from the NFC Philadelphia, San Francisco,
Dallas and that would probably be it. I just I
don't think that's top heavy. I just think it's more competitive.
So you wouldn't throw Detroit in there as this, You
throw Jackson villain and you wouldn't throw Detroit in. Yes, Yes,

(01:29:19):
am I wrong on that? Is that? I mean, it's
your opinion. You don't have to be wrong. I just
I find it interesting that I'll hear this like, oh man,
it's Philly in San Francisco and the NFC, and then
it's just anyone in the AFC, And I'm like, I
think I think Dallas could get there. I do. I
kind of like Detroit a little bit more than you do,
but I kinda I kind of get that feel that

(01:29:41):
it's okay, can I can I push? Instead of saying
it's top heavy, I think the NFC is top heavy,
you see.

Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
But the Dallas gets hurt. Why because if they don't
win their division, that means they have to go ahead.
They won't get one of the top four seeds because
you'll have to Atlanta. You'll get crappy Atlanta getting a
home game in the first round over the Cowsoy.

Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
We got the Saints Falcons game today in my market. Right,
if the Falcons make the playoffs, they should just not
have the playoffs. You know what I'm talking about Falcons fans.
This is Arthur Smith is supposed to be an offensive
genius and literally Arnie. Atlanta could have rushed for a

(01:30:24):
thousand yards today if they wanted to. They but for
some reason, they felt like they needed to throw the ball,
And what happened the two times they threw the ball
with Dasmond Ritter before he finally got a big play,
he got picked. So Atlanta's stupid. They're not a smart
football team. So I don't I kind of feel like,
as much as as I'm a Derek Carr supporter and

(01:30:46):
I kind of like New Orleans, I think the NFC
South just should not be allowed to be in the
playoffs this year. It's like, hey, you had a good
run with Tom Brady, got your Super Bowl, Drew Brees
was goody, Matt Ryan had a good run in Atlanta.
Why don't you guys hit the playoffs out right? Right?
I don't know there's a team worthy in there.

Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
And you know it's going to be a sub five
hundred record though win's the NFC South. It'll be between
Atlanta and the Saints, and and both those teams are
five and six right now, Tampa four and seven.

Speaker 3 (01:31:11):
That that's exactly gonna happen all over again. Let me
throw this at you real quick. After week twelve, I
know this. It's been It's been a fun run. It's
amazing how good they are even without a serviceable quarterback.
But as you like to say, O v e er over.
I think it's over for the Browns. I think they
I think it finally hit today, even though they've won

(01:31:33):
three of their last four games, and it was a
tough loss at Denver, and even though the schedule shakes
out where they can win some games, I mean really
win some games, all right. I just at some point
the injuries catch up to you, right, at some point PJ.
Walker is not able to pull one out of his hat,
and now Miles Garrett is dinged up two. I think

(01:31:55):
it's ov er over for the Cleveland Browns. And that
fun story for this year, and one other quick one
from him today. Yeah, I forgot the Colts were good.
I after week twelve. I know this. Somehow, the Indianapolis Colts,
even after losing their starting quarterback. Their owner was in
the headline for like headlines for weird reasons last week

(01:32:17):
doing an interview talking about how he felt like he
was profiled because he was a billionaire and telling careful,
he may sue you. He may sue you. I'm just
sharing the story that he told me. Why that doesn't
mean he won't sue you. Well, but after a week twelve,
I know this. I wouldn't mind seeing them getting the playoffs.
I wouldn't mind see the Colts getting the playoffs. I
think we get smoked probably in the first round. But

(01:32:38):
Gardner minshew Jonathan Taylor suddenly playing, Well, I think I
kind of like this Colts team a little bit, Arnie. No,
not going anywhere, but they're fun to watch. Ers owns
a lot of crazy stuff, doesn't he. Oh yeah, he
owns like a zoo, Like he just bought a whale
that unfortunately passed away.

Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
No, but he but he buys like a lot of
memorabilians correct that. Yeah, So yeah, I mean like musical
and stuff like that. I thought maybe you knew. I
just I know he clunks that type of stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
Well, I'm glad that you were so all in on
me thinking the culture a fun team that you brought
up Jim Orsay buying guitars or what ough to you?

Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
You just brought him up, And that's all. I just
wanted to fill that out there, That's all.

Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
I watch a lot of that Colts game too, because
I have Jonathan Taylor in my fantasy league too.

Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
Well, that's important. That's important. They were fun to watch,
all right. So with that in mind, after Week twelve,
you guys know this hit us up on Twitter. It's
thinking genius one. I'm at Plank Show. Everyone should follow
us at Fox Sports Radio. Any other loose sins you
want to add of things that you learned or things
that you knew. After the NFL's Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Slate, I'm starting to think somehow the Patriots may get
the number one picking in the draft. I don't know
how Carolina is going to go ahead and win a game,
but I'm starting to think that the Patriots might finish
with the worst record in the NFL because I don't
see another win for the rest of the year for them.

Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
For the Pats, yeah, I don't How could it get
that bad at quarterback for them? How can it get fifteen?
How can you go from having Tom Brumbrady to this
where your last two you didn't score a touchdown against Indy,
it was ten to seven today against the Giants, you

(01:34:24):
scored seventeen against Washington, you were shut out against New
Orleans three. I mean, how could it get this bad? How?

Speaker 2 (01:34:33):
And you wonder why people say that? Bellow check is
out of there. I mean, I would get the hell
out of there with that, and they have a pretty
good defense. It is just a I mean, look at
the teams like them and Buffalo just starting to just
fall in the shambles. It's absolutely crazy to see the
Patriots what they are right now.

Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
You want to know what's crazy? Is up there? What
six remaining games? Yeah, three of them are in primetime? Why,
I don't know. I don't make these rules. They play
the Steelers in primetime on December seventh, and then they
play Monday Night Football, play on Monday Night Football against
the Chiefs, and then they got their Thursday night game

(01:35:13):
against the Nynver Broncos. So they are in primetime in
three of their next four games. Geez oh, Jess, that's crazy. Gross.
All right, when we come back, we'll hit your tweets.

(01:36:02):
Do we dare dive into college here?

Speaker 1 (01:36:03):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
Let me give these tweets instead. I could talk college
all night long. I know there's a lot going on
in college. I understand that new head coach at A
and M, new head coach of Mississippi State Conference championship
line movement like crazy. But I thought this was good
from Jason B. Jason B. Diamond, Right, so you can
officially add the Chargers to the teams who's season ended

(01:36:25):
in Week twelve. Yeah, see what Brandon Staley had to
say afterwards, because he got a little bit testy last
week whenever he was pushed about his defense. Let's see
how it went tonight.

Speaker 7 (01:36:36):
We lost as a team tonight. You know, in a
game like that where it's low scoring, where it turns
into a defensive game, you know you got to get
one more stop, and that's what we needed to do.
At the end of the game is just get one
more stop, get justin one more op and we weren't
able to do it. I thought our defense really competed tonight.
I thought we were ready for the challenge, and I
thought our guys really played at a high level for
most of the game. But we didn't get it done

(01:36:57):
as a team. You know, we didn't go get the
ball tonight. That's what we needed to do on defense
to win it. And offensively, we didn't take care enough
of the ball to win tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:37:07):
Oh oh lost as a team. But he did beat
the chest there of the defense. Did he not well?

Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
I mean they did play well, let's geit it. They
played very well. But I mean, come on, now, what
else is he going to say? He has to be
somewhat positive. He can't let the media just brow beat
him every week where he goes crazy on the podium.
That's that's just the recipe to get fired. He has
to have some decorum here. So I mean, what else
was he gonna go ahead and say it's it's not

(01:37:35):
going to work out at the end of the year
for him.

Speaker 3 (01:37:37):
I do promise you no, I think you're right. Julian
Wrights I totally agree on Russell Wilson that he saved
his reputation and Sean Payton, we really realize how good
of a coach he is. They were d a and
they've really turned it around, probably better than any team
in the NFL. And I'm not even a Broncos fan. Oh,

(01:37:57):
I agree, Arnie. I'm not a broad. I hate the Brown,
but this is pretty impressive what they've been able to do.
There's no doubt about that better turn around.

Speaker 2 (01:38:05):
Even though they beat him though, but Denver or Minnesota,
but they beat Minnesota last week.

Speaker 3 (01:38:10):
I think, yeah, they beat Minnesota last week. And the
Vikings are playing on Monday night. But the Vikings lost
their quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
Vikings quarterback that's been in there for like three hours.

Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
They lost Justin Jefferson. I don't know. It's could be.
You could make a case for the Vikings, that's for sure.
Josh Rights on Twitter. I said last week that Week
eighteen matchup between the Colts and the Texans could be
for a playoff spot. Heck, and might be for Coach
of the Year honors too. Who is the coach of

(01:38:41):
the I mean, Sean Payton's got to be in consideration, right, yeah,
if you got some in the playoffs, absolutely, Can you
be a Coach of the Year candidate and your team
also had seventy scored on them? Is that allowed be
your first time? Wouldn't it? Let's see, do you know
who won the coach of the year last year? No?
I don't even remember. Brian Dable. Oh that's right, Brian Dable. Well,

(01:39:07):
Dan Campbell's got to be in there. He's got the
best odds right now. Oh, I would say him. There's
a good call on that. Campbell at plus one fifty.
Then there's demechl Ryan's at plus three point fifty. Colt
Student's not even on the list quite yet, but there
you go. That's that's updated as of a few hours ago.
Not disagreeing, though not disagreeing by any stretch of the

(01:39:27):
imagination that that could be for a playoff spot. Sharon
shared his stat with us that absolutely cracked me up.
From today. Did you see mac jones statline today, Arnie?
I know that it was what seven first half possession
all points? I know that, all right, Mac Jones twelve
of twenty one. That's fifty seven complete, fifty seven completion percent, ship,

(01:39:50):
fifty seven percent. If I could speak eighty nine yards.
He had four point two yards per attempt, two interceptions,
and a quarter back rating of twenty seven point eight. Wow,
how is that even possible? Is that the no I've
seen people with lower it to be lower, trust me,

(01:40:11):
But that's terrible, right, absolutely, it's horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:40:14):
I mean, I think the mac Jones experiment is over.
He's not a started quarterback in the NFL, and he'll
just be a backup for the rest of his life.

Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
Sure. Yeah, And he's one of those guys that at
some point there'll be a quarterback battle between like him
and Derek Carr, and Derek Carr will struggle and back. Man,
maybe we should give mac Jones a chief mac Jones
ori in there, and it'll be terrible. Mac Jones or
Zach Wilson. Who you rather have. I'd rather relegate to

(01:40:44):
the USFL and I'd rebuild. I'd put my tight end
quarterback done. You want to talk about just thinking about
funny narratives. And by the way, Big Greg, you are right.
I did say Ryan Pace, Thanks for catching me on that.
Ryan Poles to getting my Ryan's confused as the GM.
You can't do that to me. Chicago Bears pace was terrible.
Polls might be even worse. But back to the point,

(01:41:07):
I think it's so funny how those two narratives have
completely imploded in Zach Wilson and Mac Jones Already Mac Jones, Oh,
he's got Bill O'Brien this year. He's feeling more comfortable,
he's more confident. Look, they cut Bailey Zappi and who
was it, Malie Cunningham. So he's the guy literally couldn't
have gone any worse. No Joes this year.

Speaker 2 (01:41:27):
It's been a career destroyer for it.

Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
And then there's Zach Wilson, where as well, he's Aaron
Rodgers believes in him, He's he's spending time with him,
he's he's talking him up. And Aaron Rodgers gets hurt
and it's just been an absolute disaster for Zach Wilson.
He's had like one maybe one good half as the
starting quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
Mate, are you buying that Rogers is coming back December
twenty fourth?

Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
Are you buying that? No? Why would he come back
this year? Why would you risk anything? Get healthy? You're
not going anywhere get a better draft pick, right, Well,
that's the report.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
So I'll be back on December twenty fourth, and if
that's true, then there's something not right about that injury.

Speaker 3 (01:42:08):
I can't believe he'd come back that quickly. Well, I
just this is me, and I understand if someone brought
this up on X today, and I thought it was
a really good point. Aaron Rodgers is rehabbing around the clock,
He's getting care around the clock, So his ability to
bounce back from this while he's older, he's being treated
a lot different than any of us and many of us.
But then Ornie, I would also add, what's the value

(01:42:31):
in doing it? Just for him to be able to say, hey,
I showed you I could come back. Is that it?
It's pretty much it.

Speaker 2 (01:42:37):
Because they're not going to go to a playoff spot,
and they won an extra game or two and they
were in the playoff hunt. I'd say, Okay, I can
see why he wants to come on back, but I
can't see why he wants to come back now.

Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
Scotty asks a non football question, But I think it's
a fair question to ask, He writes, anyone want to
explain how Josh Giddy hasn't been at least taken off
the floor. But Jahn Morant sneezes and gets twenty five games. Yeah,
do you want to answer that one? No, I don't
because the age gap between him and that girl is

(01:43:07):
less than me and my wife. Unfortunately, she's in high
school and my wife I met her when she was
twenty five years old. I digress, Yeah, don't. What are
you doing, Josh Kiddy? What are you doing? Man? Arnie?
He didn't just get caught. He got caught in four
k It's like HD cameras all over him. How is
he still playing right now? Don't understand they don't have

(01:43:27):
enough evidence. They might have not they might not have
enough evidence yet. I don't know how much more you
would need. Stay, I get it. I understand he's a
young guy. He's only twenty one years old, right right?
Still though, come on, still, come on, man, you gotta
be smarter than that. But it's it's a fair question.
And to make sure I get back to football here

(01:43:48):
really quick, before we grab a break or before we
get caught up one final time with Martin. I found
this to be really good. I think tonight's been one
of our better nights on Twitter, and I'm glad you're
allowing the people to have their voices heard. Brendan writes,
I'm not sure if bringing back Antonio Pierce next year
is a good idea for the Raiders. I did read

(01:44:09):
a and O'Connell is showing promise, but I still look
for a top quarterback in the twenty four draft. I
don't think his decision making is up to the standard
of an elite quarterback. All right, why not bringing Pierce back?
That was the first thing he said. Why do they
bring him back? I don't know. I wouldn't mind it.
I think he's made some poor coaching decisions. He should
have gone for it on fourth down whenever they were up.

(01:44:30):
I think it was seven zip and they missed a
field goal that didn't go well. It was fourth and
one and they were cooking and they decided to kick
a field goal and missed it. But I think he's learning.
I'll tell you what, I think Mark Davis is going
to hire him unless they get embarrassed in the final
five weeks of the season. I think he's going to
get the job. And that's for O'Connell.

Speaker 2 (01:44:49):
I mean, you can't even even begin to judge what
this guy can do. Though I would rather have him
than even though Tommy de Vito's played well over somebody
like that, or Mac Jones or something.

Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
I think An O'Connell has a chance to be a
really good quarterback in this league. But I don't think
that's as an everyday starter now. He's he's made a
career out of proven people wrong. Right, he was a
walk on at Purdue. Get it up leading Purdue of
the Big Ten championship game. But I don't know, Arnie.
It's kind of like you snap it and that statue
just kind of stands there and it's like, please get

(01:45:21):
open someone. But we'll see, we'll see how pans out.
I think Britan, I think Antonio Pierce is getting that job.
I think he's going to be their full time guy.
I agree too.

Speaker 2 (01:45:29):
I think it's but you know, with so many other
big names out there, you would, you know, like, if
they can get a Belicheck or they can get a
you know, Harbor, you'd have to really think about that hard.

Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
No, you would, you would, all right, One final time, tonight,
let's get caught up on everything going on in the
world of sports. With the Sager covering that Sunday night snoozer.
Martin Weiss is in tonight what's going on, Martin?

Speaker 5 (01:45:49):
Hey guys, And just so just to clear up the
Josh Getty thing, Mike Basz, NBA league spostman, said Friday
that the NBA is looking into allegations made on social
media that Oklahoma's Hity thunder guard Joss He had an
inappropriate relationship with a minor. So obviously no business days
between now and Friday, so I imagine that had come Monday
or Tuesday, we should have at least some findings from

(01:46:10):
that advent.

Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
Here's my question, though, how does he still get to
play through it? Why wouldn't there be like, hey, let's
go ahead and sit him to avoid any more focus
on the NBA doesn't take days off. And I'm not complaining.
I'm not complaining because I am a thunder fan, right
and I'm like, oh, they're much better team with them
in there. But I realized that the heavy nature of
these allegations. But it's a great point, Martin. They need

(01:46:32):
their time to look at her, so hopefully we'll learn
something tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (01:46:35):
I got to make sure those allegations, you know, are
actually true, you know. Yeah, And speaking of Antonio Peers,
he and Marcus Peters got into a back and forth
coaching player after Marcus Peters was benched in the second
quarter after missing a tackle and apparently had some other
effort issues that Antonio.

Speaker 3 (01:46:51):
Pierce was not a big fan of.

Speaker 5 (01:46:52):
He is now in danger of being cut per vic
to four of the Athletic that is off. The game
of the Kansas City Chiefs scored seventeen second half points
to beat the Raiders thirty one to seventeen. Interestingly enough,
Marcus Peters was bent in the second half. I wonder
how that. I wonder how that conversation went the rest
of the NFL. The Eagles beat the Bills game win
he touchdown run from Jalen Hurts. Final score thirty seven

(01:47:14):
and thirty four. That one ended in overtime. Eagles NFL
best ten and one. That's so other night football game
that Steve the Seger was at was a snoozers A.
Flowers had the two touchdowns that made it interesting for
the Ravens, one rushing, one receiving. Ravens beat the Chargers
twenty to ten and tad insult to injury. Quentin Johnson
was the wide receiver that the Los Angeles Chargers took
in the first round. One pick before Zay Flowers. The

(01:47:36):
Falcons beat the Saints twenty four to fifteen. Atlanta now
at top the NFC South with a five or six record.
Somebody has to get it. The longest win streak in
the NFL continues as the Broncos have one hundred and
sixty nine rushing yards as a team. On the Browns,
Russell Wilson had eleven carries as the most carries he's
had in almost six years. Week two of twenty seventeen,
he had twelve. I looked it up myself. That's it.

Speaker 3 (01:47:58):
Broncos beat the Browns nine to twelve.

Speaker 5 (01:48:00):
Mamary Cooper and Miles Garrett left this game with injury
for Cleveland, so Cleveland season might just be getting derailed
by injury. After this, Pittsburgh won its first game after
firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada. Steelers had four hundred yards
of offense. That's more than they had in any game
with Canada calling the plays. Only a mounted in sixteen points,
though that was enough to win sixteen to ten over Cincinnati.

(01:48:21):
Jaguars take a commanding two game leading in the AFC
South as Matt a. Moondola for the Texas missed a
fifty eight yard field goal off the bottom crossbar was
this close as time expired. Jaguars went twenty four to
twenty one.

Speaker 3 (01:48:32):
C J.

Speaker 5 (01:48:33):
Stroud first rookie to throw for three hundred yards and
four straight games in the NBA. Boston improved a seven
and zer at home behind Jason Tatum's thirty four points
nine rebounds. They beat the Hawks won thirteen to one
oh three timberwol if they had top the Western Conference standings,
they beat the Grizzlies one nineteen that's ninety seven Anthony
Edwards twenty four point seven rebounds. Grizzlies the exact opposite
of the Celtics. Celtics seven and zer at home memphish

(01:48:55):
to eight. Devin Booker hit a game winning three at
the buzzer and Madison score garden as the Suns beat
the next one to sixteen to one thirteen, and the
Nuggets beat the Spurs one thirty two to one twenty.
Victor wibin Yama, who many believe the future of the NBA,
twenty two points eleven rebounds of six deals. Randing Finals
MVP Nakola Joaki showed why he's the right now of
the NBA, though thirty nine points, eleven rebounds, nine assists.

Speaker 3 (01:49:18):

Are or did you? Absolutely? Did you have anything on
the Roman numerals that I didn't get to today that
you felt like.

Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
We didn't talk a lot about the Mischigan Ohio state matchup.
I mean that was I mean, I mean because it
was so much fun to watch. That was a great game.
I enjoyed that, I enjoyed all the hatred that to
me is the best rivalry in all of sports.

Speaker 3 (01:50:05):
But there was so much hatred going on the sidelines
out there was absolutely fantastic. I mean, the Michigan sideline
running over to wave goodbye to the Ohio State sideline
was something. And again, it's funny to me because I've
seen this happen. I've been in the middle of a
lot of field stormings. But when you see a grown
ass man running over to wave goodbye to you, it's like,

(01:50:26):
what are we even doing?

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Who were they giving crap to Ohio State's athletic director
or something?

Speaker 3 (01:50:31):
Yeah, Jeane Taylor, Jean Taylor there, make sure you're behind
the yellow wide. Are you serious?

Speaker 2 (01:50:36):
You have nothing better to do to worry about where
that guy is standing?

Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
Well, in fairness, is someone who spent a lot of
time on sidelines. Y'all need to move back. I mean
there's literally it's like a penalty waiting to happen. But yeah,
they knew who that was, aren't he? Right? So then
what do you think? How far does Ohio State fall
tomorrow and whenever we get the playoff rankings, because now

(01:51:02):
on the East Coast in the Central time zone, it
is Monday, so the playoff rankings will be Tuesday. Ohio
State only fell four spots in the most recent ap
pole and the coaches poll they fell four spots as well.
Do they fall below Texas and Alabama or do they
stay in that top six tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
I figure it was gonna be Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Florida State,
Oregon five, Ohio State six. I haven't met at Texas
alabam by my wrong about that.

Speaker 3 (01:51:29):
I don't think you're wrong, hot take. I think Texas
and Alabama should be ranked ahead of them. But do
you think they should be or they and they won't be?
Though I don't think they will. Or you think they
should be and they will be, It wouldn't No, I
don't think they will be. I think Ohio State. I
think it's gonna look very much like the AP pole.
But I would say, Arnie, Alabama and I know crazy

(01:51:53):
things happen at Jordan Hare and I get it. That's
a rivalry, but you gotta hold something against them that
it took a desperation play to even get to this point, right.

Speaker 2 (01:52:02):
Not a big spread in that game, though, was it?
What were they favored buying that game?

Speaker 3 (01:52:05):
What they Why? Does that matter? Well? Because it was
Auburn lost to New Mexico State at high in the week.
Here's what the spread is and it didn't take a miracle.
But I mean, you're right, it is a big rivalry.
But you do have to hold it a little bit
against them. I have to go a little bit. If
I asked you for Auburn's record right off the top
of your head, would you be one of those guys

(01:52:26):
it's like, ah, it doesn't matter, it's you throw out
the records in something like this. Well, or would you say, oh, god,
Auburn six and six and they're three and five in
conference play. Let me ask you this. I'll give it
to you like this.

Speaker 2 (01:52:38):
Suppose Ohio State and Alabama were absolutely equal mathematically, computer wise,
whatever it is before the game, and Ohio State lost
to Michigan the way they did and Alabama won the
way they did. Wouldn't you think that Alabama went over
Auburn would be higher than an Ohio State loss over

(01:52:59):
Michigan Or No.

Speaker 3 (01:53:00):
I don't know. Well, you're not ready to drop Ohio
State below Alabama, so I might say no, yeah, right,
I mean it is a tough call. Alabama's only lost
is to Texas. Texas is only they are.

Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
They weren't equal though when this weekend started at Ohio
State was ahead of them.

Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
Though. See that's the only problem. Oh Okay, I see
what you're saying, right, so you're saying because they were
up there at number two and it was only that
they lost at number three. History doesn't matter in this.
Some of my wow, they've lost you them three times,
It doesn't matter, doesn't matter in this, but it will
be interesting to see on Tuesday. And then I'm with you.

(01:53:39):
I was blown away whenever, and we we teased it
last week, but I was blown away whenever I saw
just how big that number truly was for the PAC
twelve Championship game.

Speaker 2 (01:53:50):
I mean I thought it was five and a half, right,
That's when I thought it was going to be. When
we were filling it on Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:53:56):
Yeah, and I and I looked it up and I
was like, it's nine. But it's already last week it
was seven and a half, all right, So it opened
at least in the way too early. Lines. It opened
seven and a half. It's back to nine. It's hapened nine.
Yeah and nine and a half. Now, Oh my gosh,

(01:54:17):
the Ohio start excuse me. The Michigan line against Iowa
was exactly what we told you it was gonna be.
It opened twenty three last week, it was twenty one
and a half. I mean, this is unbelievable and oh,
by the way, as expected, even though Florida State has
a backup quarterback, that line as of today was five
and a half. So Louisville lost this week to Kentucky,

(01:54:40):
but we got some weird lines to try to figure
out next weekend. You're right, You're right.

Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
That's why I thought the Washington line was way out
of line. But of course Todd ferman at that put
me in my place about the close games Washington have played.

Speaker 3 (01:54:52):
But I still think that's too many points. They've been
flirting with disaster. Well, let's see where you got it. Yes,
we'll come back and put a rap on this edition
to Fox Sports rate a Fox Sports Sunday with Arnie
playing with Arnie's peaks in our progressive play of the
day right here on Fox Sports Radio, Arnie, it is
a time for the progressive play of the days. From

(01:55:13):
the left hash from fifty eight yards away, Matt Ammendola
Johnson puts it down. There's the kid, the fifty eight
yard field goal. Is it hits the cross car. It
is no god, it hit the cross card and came back.
The field goal is no good and the Jags takeover.

(01:55:34):
It'll take a knee one time. There you go, Jaguars.
Texans came down to a potential game tying field goal
that hits off the crossbar. Jaguars when they're in that
what four way tie essentially for the top spot in
the AFC. And the Progressive play of the day is

(01:55:55):
always is brought to you by Progressive Insurance, making bundling

Are you ready? I'm ready, I'm ready. Let's do this,
all right, stinking genius taking away? It's time for your
weekly picks. Where are we going? You know? I want

(01:56:16):
you to know right off the bat before I start.

Speaker 2 (01:56:18):
I don't feel like I'm getting the love about how
great my picks have been, because they have been phenomenal.
I mean, in the NFL, I went seven to two
and one. I am now sixty five and fifty nine,
which is excuse me. In college, I am now sixty
five and fifty nine fifty two point four percent. And

(01:56:38):
in the NFL I'm sixty seven and forty six fifty
nine point two percent. I'm a sixty percenter. You understand
I should be getting a lot more love than that.
You don't give me any love there, Chris, So think
you and take care of that yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:56:52):
Wow. Well, if I didn't do it, nobody would be
patting me on the back. Ball's not gonna spike itself, Arnie,
be a little music. Put me in the mood. Let's
get to the games.

Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
You know we're gonna take Washington plus nine and a
half for Oregon. You know I gotta go. This is
way too many points, so I'm not gonna do that.
I like, Oh, Oklahoma State plus fourteen over Texas.

Speaker 3 (01:57:13):
That's again too many way wait wait wait wait wait
wait wait what for like Oklahoma State plus fourteen over Texas? Yes, okay,
why am I is that? I think tech one, I
think Texas might score fifty and I don't know what.
I don't know how Oklahoma State's gonna score or whenever,
Texas is gonna shut down the running game. But now, listen,

(01:57:34):
you're the one you're big in at sixty percent. Yeah,
I listen to me. You just go, just go. Yeah,
you really shouldn't put bad thoughts in my mind. No, no,
You're You're the king here, You're the stinking genius I am.

Speaker 2 (01:57:46):
I love Alabama plus five over Georgia. Love getting the
points with Alabama. We're gonna take Iowa plus and twenty
three over Michigan and Louisville plus the three against Florida State.

Speaker 3 (01:57:56):
So I'm taking all the dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:57:58):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:57:58):
In my picks in college.

Speaker 2 (01:57:59):
In the NFL, I'm all over Dallas minus seven and
a half over Seattle, Pittsburgh laying five and half against Arizona,
the Broncos plus three against the Texans. Give me Tampa
minus four against Carolina. I'll take the Rams and lay
four and half against the Browns. Give me Philly minus
one against San Francisco. And I told you I'm taking
Green Bay plus the six and a half against Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (01:58:21):
There you have my picks. Do with them as you please.

Speaker 2 (01:58:23):
No longer strictly for entertainment purposes, only as I'm really
if I was in the sportsbook contest in Vegas, I'd
be pretty much top five in every contest I then,
or you know.

Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
That, Or I mean if you just picked up your
phone and got on an app, you could be making
money off this.

Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
No, but I mean if I did those super contests,
you know, where you have to pick it like sixty
percent to win. I'd be right up there with six
weeks to go making millions.

Speaker 3 (01:58:53):
You really are a frustrated high school athlete, aren't you? Yeah?
Why why why do you say that? It's just it's
always about if I was this, or if I got that,
or do it? What's stopping you from doing it? No
one tells you you can't. Well, like the thousand dollars
entry fee was a little steep. Well you're rich. You're
going to costa Rica next week. Go yep, But it's
a free trip for crying out loud.

Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:59:14):
Next week is a pretty good weekend for the NFL.
Maybe not the greatest Saturday this past or Thursday and
Sunday whatever. Maybe not the best weekend of games this
past weekend, but we're gonna try to make it a
little better, at least with one forty nine Ers Eagles.
All right, you get next Sunday that's in that prime
that afternoon slot on Fox. I think one hundred percent
of the country is getting it. The Sunday night football

(01:59:35):
game is not too bad. Chiefs and Packers, Right, I
get to enjoy the weekend because the Raiders are off.
That's all I got for you. Every other match, well,
Colts Titans, Is that doing anything for you? Good week
to go to Costa Rica's nine Saints, maybe Cardinal Steelers.
All Right, I take that back. There's one really good
game next week and it's and we'll be all over

(01:59:58):
plus up. Listen. Championship Saturday has a fascinating tint to it.
If Alabama beats Georgia and Texas wins the Big twelve title,
who's getting in? Who's getting in? Oh? Think about the possibilities.
All right, already have a great week man, you too,
my friend, have a great week. Hey for Loreena for

(02:00:20):
a BT for the entire crew behind the scenes putting
together all the audio. Great job, Martin, that's already on plank.
We'll see next Sunday night. Ben Maller is coming up
next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
