This is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff, presented by
Bett emg App.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Now we're live.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
From your tailgame. Here's Brian no Hier, NFL veteran Jeff
Schwartz at sports handicapper from Crackwinds dot com Bill crack Krackenberger.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Oh, good morning to your happy Sunday man. It gives
me great pleasure to tell you Paul is back.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
And how about that man?
Speaker 5 (00:59):
The dogs were in yesterday big time where you had
Florida State they lost outright to Georgia Tech, and then
we had some double digit dogs just cover cover cover.
It was the theme of the College Football Week zero
slate right there. I hope you guys were all over
the dogs yesterday. Jeff, were you were you dogging it?
Speaker 4 (01:20):
I had smu over team total points that did not hit.
They looked atrocious on offense last night. I actually went
to bed when they were losing. I was surprised to
see they won't even though they're much better than Nevada.
So I'm not in the n college football tends to
work that way, Brian. I had dju under passing and
that easily hit. Because you know, we do this thing
(01:42):
in sports guys, where we just like want to believe
four years of film changes in the year five. We
do this in the NFL. I don't understand, same quarterback
he's always been and so I was faiting Florida State. Look,
I think obviously the story that the Dogs cover. I
don't think this carries over in a week one. By
by the way, God a weird weekend. The Hawaii game.
(02:03):
Delaware State Hawaii. They didn't care at all about that
game zero percent. They're just doing it because they had
to play. What I am what I am so excited
about is I have basically made my entire bank roll
for the football season because of this man, Bill Krackenberger.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
Who mister pass over here, who has basically funded my
entire regular season bank Well, I I thank you, sir
for your kindness.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Hey, thank you, Thank you, guys. No, it's it's been
it's been a fun ride and and uh, it just
never ends. There's even stuff that I'm going to have
today I haven't revealed yet. So we had a great season. Uh.
We have a text chat with six of us on it.
I had I added, uh Jared Jared Smith the other
(02:49):
day because we wanted to get him involved too. He's
a better out here in Vegas. So h yeah, things
have went well. I mean, I'm looking at some of
the releases. Do you realize this though, Jeff, you're probabrobably
don't know this. The only loser I sent out I've
probably I guess. I gave you guys six and oh
you knew, and you know what you said.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
I told you it was gonna lose, right, you said that.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
The only one that Jeff act because one thing now,
I finally have the guys trained. They'll bet anything because
they know it's gonna move and if they don't like it,
they'll get on the other side. But the only thing
I put in the chat was the chiefs that Jeff
had a response to everything else that think yes, perfect,
go ahead, go great, thank you. The only one he
said wait a minute, they're not playing their starters.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
I've been a little I've been a little bit less.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Than you said you less you did, Yeah, I was.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
I I knew I look part of look when you
follow a team as close as I follow the Chiefs.
I follow all teams, but let the Chiefs. I know
exactly I played there and my brother played. I know
exactly how the preseas is gonna go. And I've watched
all their games, even in the third and fourth quarter.
Their third string has been a trocious in the preseason.
Like there's some you know, that's the advantage you get.
I think sometimes of following a conference, like I follow
(03:56):
the Big Ten for other jobs, I do the Pac twelve.
We talked about my record last year, like that's a
value in that. I don't bet the Chiefs really ever.
I tried not to try out to bet organ very much.
But that's the benefit of doing that. And they didn't
play any starters, and they looked bad because they've been
bad all preseason when the starters having played otherwise. Though,
I don't know how you're doing it, buddy, because you
(04:17):
just just.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
In the last game on the schedule of yesterday. I
think we text you at like eleven o'clock you were
going to bed. I said, we'll pull it in for you.
That was the Seattle Seahawks. You know, I laid the
money line. I took a little bit plus one, but
I laid the money line there, and I told you guys,
bet the money line. I think you guys probably late
about one fifty, maybe less. I don't know where'd you guys?
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Layte was a little like one won for settle money line.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Yeah, Seattle want to minus one thirty?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
No, I got one thirteen.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
I think.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Okay, wow, so right right right away when I said there,
because it was pick them, it was pick of minus
one ten on twenty one thirty. But yeah, even up
to one forty. Like you said, last night, I noticed
a kickoff there was minus two hundreds everywhere. I was like, wow,
this is why it's worth over betting these preseason games,
because let's just face it, you should come back and
actually middle take the plus three points, which by the way,
(05:09):
almost hit last night. Jeffy were sleeping. They got a
touchdown and I thought they were going to go for
two because they're you know, they're they're they're they're it's
either well then it's preseason, I understand, but anything can happen.
But instead they kicked the extra point. They were down
by five and just went just off the field and
one by four. But however, the middles, the middles didn't
hit yesterday. All the right sides destroyed them. As a
(05:30):
matter of fact, the whole season, preseason, the right side
destroyed them. I said it last last week in this space.
I wish we had a whole season of preseason. And
I'm sure you guys do from a financial standpoint, so yeah,
I wish.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
Yeah for the people that are like the preseason, they've
just told me without telling me, I don't bet.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
I don't bet on sports.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Ryan's right, Yeah, it's right, and people people come after us.
I don't know if you guys realize if you ever
talk about it. People came after me week one last
year or two, they said you must be at degenerate.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
No, no, why I am. But yes, so not why
I'm winning. It's not why I'm winning or losing. I
do like join. Look, they're the preseason. You have an
edge obviously, and it's just sort of the way the
way it is. Sometimes, you know, Brian, I text all
the back I have an edge. I'm just taking Kaitlyn
(06:26):
Clark point rebound sis over. Every game hits, every game
doesn't matter like sometimes you just have an edge and stuff.
You just keep wet wager on it until it dries,
until it dries up. And that's one where I just
every I text part every game Kaylin Clark points rebounds
just over.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, every game just hits.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
It.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Just keep riding a wager till it. And in the preseason,
you just keep riding until it's over.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, And I think that's a smart way to go.
Speaker 7 (06:48):
Man.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
It's a little bit like football.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
If you've got a play that's working, why would you
stop going to it?
Speaker 1 (06:53):
It works the.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Same way with betting. I just love Jeff that you
have so much faith in Crack that even is Chiefs pick,
you're like, eh, still wager a little bit on that.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
I put a little I just put a little bit
on it. I put like a half unit because I
was like, I I think he's wrong, but he's on
their preseason. I'll just let it out.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Look literally, in our chat, like like twenty five plays,
we went like twenty and five. Pretty stupid, pretty stupid,
crazy man. Just a little of the fans out there
listening to that are listening and saying, man, I come
mom out of part of this. I'm going to have
one today and you guys are going to experience live
line movement right before it goes. In other words, I'm
(07:35):
gonna give it to you guys, and you're gonna see
the line's gonna move everywhere. I'm going to give it
out to everyone for free of course here right on
the show, and we'll be firing away our show. You'll
see us in the background firing away ourselves. But yeah,
I'll be giving one out here on the show today.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
This is something that I the other besides the preceadon
and stuff, there's things you learned from working with with
working as a loose term, we do radio, but we
also text all the time, like the foresight of looking
ahead in college football, because yesterday cult football happened. There
were you know, there was a handful of games. There
were some games I had. I had McNee State plus
seventeen and a half that was fun to watch as
(08:14):
they kim roaring back there against Tarlet Tarleton, Tarlet, Tarleton State.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
I think it is.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
But like Crack has texted us like, hey, guys, take
Boston College plus the points because they played Florida State
next week. Brian, I didn't even think about like looking ahead.
And he's right. It went from twenty and a half
at bet MGM to I think it's eighteen now eighteen
and a half somewhere around there.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
I actually told you guys, bet MGM is twenty and
a half our sponsorg and.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
So we took it at took it at bet MGM,
and now it's now it's you know, worst price now
if you want to take the underdog, you know, you
know the Mexico moved a bunch yesterday. I was a
good look well against Arizona. I think the Vata moved
as well. And everyone's moving right, and you take advantage
of that early on.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Who thinks like that? Though, you're right and that's not
average Joe. You can't think like that. But I'm looking,
I'm looking to steal, you know me?
Speaker 1 (09:02):
So no, that's that's the right way to do it, man,
for sure.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
And it's weird, right, It's like training your brain to
think differently because most people think here and now you're
watching Florida State against Georgia Tech right now, and crack
you're onto the next thing. You're probably thinking about, not
just week one, you're probably thinking about November.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I'm sure you kind I've.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Made a lot of bets. I think I sent you guys.
I made a lot of bets, you know, weeks two
to eighteen in the NFL, which gets a little dicey
because of injuries and stuff, but situationally, just like common
sense bets. I mean, three months ago they actually had
like the Eagles minus two and a half minus twenty
versus Washington, Like that is not going to be two
and a half by the time the game kicks off.
(09:45):
I don't care if they're playing in Washington. So just
that there is some some common sense ones just to
look at. You really don't have to put any analytics
into things. But yeah, it's been fun. It's been fun
with you guys, and I enjoy, you know, giving you
guys some stuff and get to get the little edges
in there with your own stuff. And uh and so
far too good. Like Jeff said, it's a good, nice
(10:06):
bank roll you build up going into the regular season.
And I think we're gonna be okay for the whole
season here. I have confidence, And I was not a
regular season NFL guy. You know, I really don't play
a lot of NFL sides, but one of my guys
who has proven to me over the last three years
he could beat sides in totals. We are we're gonna
(10:28):
be going with his stuff the whole season because it's
so tough to beat, as we know, the Crack Challenge,
it's so hard to beat. The games early in the week.
Is the is the softer market. You guys have been
playing them at game time literally, so it should be
a fun year. I look forward to this, guys.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Yeah, that's coming up soon, the Crack Challenge that'll start.
And what I'm going to say two weeks because we
wouldn't be next week two weeks. What do you think, Jeff,
are you gonna call your shot? Were you at least
your goal? What's your uh? What are you supposed to?
Speaker 4 (11:00):
I let you have fifty two percent again, that'd be nice. Yeah,
you know, we've been we've had these week of lines forever.
I hope some of them stay where they're at right now,
right right right, you know it is. It is funny,
Crack how you mentioned like I used to wager on
a lot when I first started wagering, right, Like, I
just would look at numbers and just like fire, Oh,
(11:20):
let's just do this. It's like, you know, six years
ago when I when I retired. Sure, now I'm even
looking at like Week one college football lines and I'm like, like, Brian,
I don't really have. The one I liked is that
I got a terrible number LSU minus six. It's four
and a half now, but I have Colorado minus seven.
I got that in May. It's now nine and a half.
I don't even feel great about it anymore because I
(11:41):
think Colorado there's so much in Colorado right now that
I just don't like about the vibe of the program
that I and I just don't. I think they're better
than North Dakota State. But even then, like finding two
or three or four more wagers, I'm having a lot
of hard time doing and.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
It's nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
And I never, like, I don't know, three years I
never would have said, like, I only yeah two for
Week one. Right now, there's ones I think I liked.
I'm waiting for, like I'm waiting for an organ team
total to pop up. Won't happen till probably Friday. So
playing Idaho things like that. I'm waiting to sort of
see where the number evens out. But I look at
week one. I like my Week one NFL slater ready.
But college football next weekend there's you know, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday,
(12:19):
my wife, guys, excuse me out of town with the kids.
I'm gonna be buy myself. And I mentioned this last week,
like buy myself for four days. That's Thursday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
There's a game of day two And uh I, I
just don't like a ton right now. Never thought I
would say that, Brian before week one.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Hey, there's nothing wrong with that, you know, like Crack just.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Said, Oh, you know, guys, get in trouble with volume.
You know, a bookmaker's dream is someone who bets twenty games,
you know, literally week one college football. Now. Now, granted,
someone like myself will bet a lot of games, but
every one of them I'm going to have the best
of the closing line, closing wine value. But for Joe
public at home, that is the mentality we're trying to
(13:00):
get them out of, is not to just fire on
everything and not to just bet and be that bookmaker's
dream and listen. We may not make you win a
lot of money, but we're gonna make you lose less
for sure.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (13:12):

(15:10):
squarest statement anyone can make about sports betting.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Is uh?
Speaker 5 (15:16):
You mentioned it to begin the show crack as anyone saying, oh,
you bet the preseason, you must be a degenerate. It's like, no, man,
there is so much value in the preseason. I'll put
it in regular season terms. If anybody, you might not
be a sports better. But if you're like I'm thinking
about getting into sports betting, would this interest you? If
(15:38):
one team were playing all their starters and the other
team wasn't playing any of their starters, would that be
of interest to you? Because that happens all the time
in the preseason.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
So it's not, oh, you're a degenerate. It's no.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Some of these games are oozing with value. You'd be
an idiot to pass on it if you're trying to
make some cash here. That's that's what it comes down to.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Yeah, you know you're spot on about what you just said.
Is the key to everything. Preseason starters playing against non
starters or second string or third string or just a
couple starters. Now, and this is all for public consumption too.
It's not like I'm not the amazing Cresken and I'm
not just picking things out of a hat, and it's
just like you know, a magician here, it's just following
(16:23):
beat reporters. It's following what the coaches say, though sometimes
they're sneaky and don't tell you the truth. But you
have to know, which is what you have to know
which coaches really want to play their guys or really
take preseason serious. So yeah, yeah, it's it's all about
it's all in the cards. There guys to find and research.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Go ahead, Jeff, I'm about to say it's that's all.
It's all anyone's doing is looking at the media reports. Right.
You hear coach say, hey, we're going to play our
starters now. Of course we joked about this last week.
There are times when the Bills announce Josh Allen's going
to play and he doesn't now the rest of the
starters played though, right. So it's also there is a
big delination delineation in this preseason between teams that are
(17:06):
trying and not trying. The teams that are not trying
are just going to lose like they're they're very clearly
not trying to win, and that to me is a
big difference, and I think that you can have find
a lot of value in finding those teams that aren't
really trying to win.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
Yeah, No, it's it's there to be had. That's what's
funny to me, is you hear those statements all the time. Really,
if if I make any statement about a preseason game,
you know, and I'm doing a show on Fox Sports Radio,
I'll get I'll get tweets where it's like you must
be a degenerate, what are you doing betting on that?
Speaker 1 (17:42):
And it's like, dude, I.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Had to block people, block people. Yeah, I just block,
block and move. I don't. I don't, I just block
and move. Great, you don't get none of my stuff
for the rest of your life, right.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Think about that the first game of the season where
it's Ravens at the Chiefs. Can you imagine the betting
value if the Ravens, for some crazy reason, they're like, yeah,
we're not playing our starters. They're either all injured or
we're just worth setting them out. Do you realize what
the number would jump to for the Chiefs?
Speaker 1 (18:11):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (18:11):
Like that stuff happens all the time in the preseason.
I don't know why people don't take advantage of it
if they're into sports batting.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
You know, guys, I want to tell you something. Here's
a mistake were yes, there's a mistake preseason I've been making,
and we would have distributed done the same thing, maybe
better if we really went to I think it was
like twenty and five of those going back and look
looking at stuff. We're supposed to play first quarter because
there are sports books that have the first quarter wager
on these things, and I gotta tell you that MGMs
(18:44):
one of them. So like, how can we not? How
could I have not? I'm playing first half knowing the
starters are playing. That means those money lines and those
first quarters are so valuable. But you know me, my
brain just thinks, oh, what are they going to take
a couple under buck Like, they're not going to take
a lot I need a lot of volume down, you know.
(19:04):
And I'm wrong, I'm one hundred percent wrong. I'm supposed
to be playing first quarters. Maybe this is a good
thing to know for next year. I thought about it
at the end of the Week two, I said, now
I'm not going to do it. Week three, sure enough,
I would have went five to one on the first quarters.
So it's just something that we may want to look
at for for next season.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
Yeah, and you look at I mean every now and
then you get bitten. There's a team that plays their
starters and they don't get it done. But more times
than not, that's not the case. And you've seen some
of the most public sized stories this offseason Bo Knicks.
Bo Knicks, the Broncos quarterback. He's been named QB one,
He's looked great in the preseason. A lot of that
has been against backups, and so betting wise, you can
(19:46):
take advantage of something like that. I think crack you
gave out when the Broncos were at home against the Packers.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
The Packers had their backup.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
Guys out there, and bow Knicks is doing his thing
and Denver was easily a f half winner, you know,
And so I think it's two things. Most times starters
are going to be backups. That's the most obvious thing.
So if you're taking advantage of that in the preseason, great,
your bank role is growing. If starters don't beat backups,
that is valuable information when the regular season rolls around
(20:17):
as well. So even if you don't come out on top,
you've got some more information to make that money back.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Absolutely, it's all about finding information, and you know, there's
again there's a market for it. There's a lot of
avenues to find that information. It's your job to try to,
you know, especially in the preseason, like just try to
to beat the numbers, right, And that's what cracksmen doing.
And so look, I mean, am I sitting there watching
these games? Like? No? I mean like these games are
(20:44):
not the best, but you can still make money on
them even though you're not watching them.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Yeah, you know what, guys, I'm in to interrupt you,
but I'm gonna do this son now. So I want
anyone that's listening home to get ready log into your
sports books. That's right. Bet MGM, sorry about this, bet mgm.
Speaker 9 (21:00):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
We're gonna bet a first half here, and uh, you
guys are going to experience what a first half steam
move is and I want you guys to be part
of it. I'm gonna give it to you guys first.
So of course, the guys now how my text messages
are saying, wait, what is it, crack, what are you doing? Yeah,
so yes, you can get ready. We're gonna have one
in about a minute and a half, right, so ninety seconds,
(21:21):
you guys are gonna see what what a first half
move is, what a steam move is. So yeah, you
guys get ready for this. All right, I'm gonna do
this live and I am gonna send it over to
my guys here in the in the in the chat though,
so they don't get mad at me. But yeah, so
we're gonna have that in about in about sixty seconds, okay, okay, right, works. Yeah,
(21:43):
we're all online here, we're all like trying to be
We're live on the radio, betting and I'm betting on
our getting getting our MGM app ready here at the
fire and we're at which we're on betting.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
So but that's a good point there.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
The crack is for tracing back to anyone who says,
if you bet the preseason, you must be a degenerate.
The lines wouldn't move the way they do within minutes,
you know what I'm saying, if the sharps, if people
with actual deep pockets weren't betting on this stuff, you.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
This isn't just average Joe.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
Hey, I'm gonna bet twenty fifty, one hundred dollars. This
is like major cash moving these lines. And so I
just think it's funny that statement of oh, but you
must be a degenerative.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
The pros are getting down on this. This is not
just a degenerate thing.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Tennessee Titans, guys, first half minus string and a half,
you go ahead and play that now, that'll be moving
here in the next minute or so. So's Tennessee Titans
first half minus string and a half, playing their starters.
And there we go. There.
Speaker 5 (22:47):
It is very nice. It's beautiful. Someone else who was beautiful.
I thought about throwing it to Ilo and saying, all right, Ilo,
you got ninety seconds. You know I don't like putting
restrictions on his update length over here. Ilo, you take
as much time as you want. Take the next three
hours if you'd like.
Speaker 10 (23:04):
You know what, I will thank you, Brian.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Got it.
Speaker 10 (23:08):
Give me a second of air time and I'll take
an hour. That's the mantra islive by well. I appreciate that.
I will try and condense it somewhat because we actually, guys.
Have some fresh NFL news today. NFL media reporting that
the Jacksonville Jaguars have released receiver Denzel Mems, while ESPN
reports that the Los Angeles Rams have granted starting linebacker
(23:29):
Ernest Jones permission to seek a trade. Jones was the
Rams leading tackler last season. This is the final year
of his contract. Baseball Saturday night, the Tampa Bay Raised
to be to the Los Angeles Dodgers in ten innings,
nine to eight, as Tampa Bay's Junior common Aro hit
the game tying home run in the top of the ninth,
and then Jose Cabalero the game winning home run in
(23:49):
the top of the tenth. Sho hey Otani is forty
first home run in a losing cause. Francisco Lindor of
the Mets homeward from both sides of the plate, including
a Grand Slam home run finished with five RBI in
the Mets seven to one victory over the Padres in
San Diego. Ornberger's not listening right now, anyway. The Tigers
wanted Chicago over the White Sox thirteen to four. Detroit's
(24:11):
Trek Schoobell first of the Majors to fifteen wins. He
also leaves the Majors with a two point five to
eight earned run average. Finally fellas the jersey worn by
Babe Ruth when he hit his legendary called shot home
run against the Cubs at Wrigley in the nineteen thirty
two World Series has been sold at auction for a
(24:34):
sports collectible all time record twenty four point one million dollars.
No word yet on the identity of who purchased the
jersey or how they're going to explain it to their wife. Fellas,
back to you. Wow, I'm wondering.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
What the previous record was, because anywhere near that.
Speaker 10 (24:53):
It was a twelve million dollars. Let me double check it.
It was like twelve million dollars for a Mickey Man
Rookie card Mickey Mantle Mint Condition Tops nineteen fifty two
Mickey Mantle card sold for twelve point six million, and
then before that, it was a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls
jersey from Game one of the nineteen ninety eight NBA Finals,
(25:16):
which they lost in overtime. So I don't know why
that would be work.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Yeah, I mean they were good about Game six, game
waiting shot. Yeah, no, let's get the game win loser.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 10 (25:26):
Anyway, that one went for ten point one million dollars,
so inflation apparently an appreciation apparently going in the sports
collectible industry.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Fellas, Wow, that's amazing right there. I low, thank you
very much for that.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Is Fox Sports Radios Campdown to kick Off, presented by
Bett MGM. So one of the preseason headlines yesterday Trey
Lance Dallas Cowboys quarterback five interceptions, guys, five picks, and
he did throw for over three hundred yards. He rushed
for about ninety yards, so there were some good things
(26:00):
as well. But he threw five interceptions in a preseason
game against the Chargers. And that's one of those teams, Jeff,
where not exactly going all out in the preseason. And look, man,
that's the bigger picture for Trey Lance, former number three
overall pick. I don't know what it is with some
of these quarterbacks where there is just an utter fascination
(26:22):
with the upside, with the ceiling. You heard that a
lot with Trey Lance when he was with the forty
nine ers is when he gets up to speed, he's
gonna unlock all of Kyle Shanahan's playbook. He heard that
where it's like the blend of throwing and running ability
and all this and it's like, guys, you don't need
that many seasons right of information to say this guy
(26:46):
just doesn't have the goods, right, Like, if you are
not a consistently accurate passer, you're not going to be
good in the NFL. I don't care how athletic you are,
and Trey Lance is one of those guys. It's unfortunate,
but that's where his career is and to say anything
else is just wishful thinking.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Yeah it is. And look, the one argument I think
you can make Brian for Trey Lances. He still just
doesn't have a lot of reps. I mean, if you
count as reps at North Dakota State plus the NFL
plus preseason, like, it is so underwhelming the amount of
times he's had an opportunity to be in the field.
(27:24):
But there's a reason for that. Right, he wasn't good
enough to point in San Francisco, He's not good enough
to be a starter in Dallas. And yes, reps are
hugely important, not denying that they matter a lot to
the development of a player, but you sort of know
or don't know if a guy has it fairly early
in my opinion, at that position. And the thing about
(27:45):
a guy like, let's use the outlier Josh Allen, right,
who didn't play well for two years. Brian then became
good in year three and obviously very good now. Josh
Allen always had plus traits right, mobility, athleticism, rocket arm.
I need a plus trait for Trey Lance, Like, give
me something to build around. That's I think where we
(28:06):
settle with a lot of these quarterbacks, Like what is
Daniel Jones's plus trait to build around? Nothing? We's Trey
Lance is nothing? Like there are guys that you're getting
paid without plus traits, even a guy who I you know,
like to who's your Dolphins quarterback?
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yep?
Speaker 4 (28:20):
I think his plus trait is just sort of getting
the ball out quickly, like he knows where the ball
is going. Like that's a plus trait to have at
that position. But I need, I need something if you're
gonna be a franchise quarterback. Trey Lance has no What's
Tree Lance is played? He's not. He looks faster this
year in preseason, okay, but like what's his plus throwing trades?
(28:41):
He have a plus throwing trait and that's why I
landed like no, and that's why he is a backup
in the NFL. Then have a plus trait, guys.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
I'm sorry, I'm still finding low hanging fruit here on that.
On this first half, as you could see now, before
the break for though came on, I gave out Tennessee
first half minus three and a half, and you could
see now it's a pretty steady five and a half.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
The thesis Fox half the first half, good.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
First half up to five and a half. These Fox
listeners are steam betters. We didn't expect this amazingly, and
I'm just you know what, it's bet MGM right now.
I still see the bet mgm alf has the Titans
first half. I bet the money line.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Still you're still three and a half miles one fifty.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Well some place, Yeah, three and a half minus one fifty,
and you know there's there's some really good uh lit'sten.
It's this simple. The Titans starters are going into the
second quarter and there's none for the Saints. So this
is the same exact situation here. The reason why I
didn't give you first quarter is because lots of books
don't have up first quarter. But bet MGM has first quarter.
(29:57):
So I'll tell you right now the quarter might even
be a better bet. Where yes, you're gonna be laying
to twenty five money line, which I don't lay that
kind of money line normally, but situationally, like I said earlier,
this has been like a ninety percent bet for us.
This preseason. So if you guys can get the quarter,
and I'm sorry to go off Trey Lance a storyline, guys,
(30:19):
this is a betting This is a live betting thing.
Though we had to talk about that though, So anyway,
that's the reason why you're on betting that, and also
I wanted to explain why they're playing think about it.
It's the starters, just like Brian said before, it's the
starters against non starters. The first quarter will be a
fantastic bet. It's not something normally that we think about either. Oh,
(30:42):
like the first can you even bet first quarter? Like
no one even thinks about that even during the regular season.
But no, there you go.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
That To me, I'm glad that you said that, crack,
because that, to me is the best litmus test for
any bet, which is am I gonna walk away from
this bet? Just shaking my head like what was I thinking?
I knew that was risky, Why would I do? Or
am I gonna walk away shrugging my shoulders saying hey,
I had a great angle, it just didn't work out.
(31:12):
It'd be like if you're at the poker table, are
you gonna be kicking yourself or going all in? With
like seven to nine. Yeah, you're gonna be kicking yourself
if it doesn't work out. Are you gonna be kicking
yourself if you go all in with pocket Kings and
it doesn't. No, you're not gonna be kicking yourself because
it's right that right. So it's like if the titles
are playing their starters and it somehow doesn't work out,
(31:34):
you're gonna walk away just shrugging your shoulders and saying, hey,
I had an edge. It just didn't work out. That
happened sometimes, but you gotta have that edge.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
And then you know, Brian, what's funny. You'll have certain
people that'll say Tennessee verse Wait a minute, Tennessee's been
the bottom five teams in the league. I'm not betting
them in their favorite. They don't realize that doesn't matter
what the value right of starters versus nonst But I
know it's preseason. I know it's it's you know, there's
(32:04):
so many variables. Oh, this is risky. Honestly, it's not
risky if you're a pro professional better And like Brian said,
and if I lose, I lose. I know I'm still
up a ton of money preseason, I know what's gonna
happen here, so anyway, I don't want to dawn on it.
I just thought about first quarter and I went to
BETEMGM and I've seen it was still available for a
good money line, and I wanted to give that out also, guys.
(32:26):
So there we go, hopefully we now we just got
to win.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Yeah, that's all that's left to do, you know, that's it.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
We got Bill Krackenberger from crackwins dot com sports handicapper,
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran, I'm Brian No coming
up next, Oh the parlay platter.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
We'll each have one selection for you.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Crack.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
I don't know if the Titans still count or you
need something new, you know, knowing you, you probably have
something new for us. Coming up next, We'll all have
something for you. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to
Kickoff presented by BEDMGM. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown
to Kickoff presented by bet MGM. Every time you make
a wager at BETMGM, you earn BETMGM rewards points that
(33:06):
can be redeemed for things like bonus bets or converted
to MGM rewards points that could be used towards dining
shows and hotel rooms at over twenty MGM resorts.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
All right, let's dive into this.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Check this out far late letter.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
Okay, we each have one selection for you. We group
everything together for a greater payout. Jeff, We'll start with you, man.
What are you thinking here today?
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Mark? It's very simple. The White Sox are very bad
at baseball, and if you're not wagering against them every day,
you're losing a lot of money. They have covered the
run line one time, one two in their last eight games.
(33:52):
They continue to get dominated before that. By the way,
they didn't cover game nine, game ten, game twelve. They
don't cover the run line. Tigers run line today minus
excuse me, it's plus one ten right now in the
bed MGM app So, yeah, I just do it every
day and a good way to make money. I have
other weads you're like today, but this one feels like
(34:13):
good one to put it there. So Tiger's run line
going for the sweep of the White Sauce.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Okay, what are you thinking, Crack?
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Are we gonna we're using bet MGM, so we gotta
I'm gonna use their first quarter line, which they still
haven't moved the money line. It's minus two and a quarter.
You know what, though, that's that's actually the line out there.
There's a couple other sports books out there that have it,
so minus two and a quarter Tennessee money line. Hate
to throw a big money line in our our parlay platter,
(34:41):
but it's the closest thing to a lock that could be.
I never say the word lock. Oh my god. That's
why I say closest thing.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
So all right, you know, crack, because this is a parlay,
I'm gonna go along the same lines.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
The first quarter.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
I'm gonna take the Patriots minus two hundred right now
at bet MG.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
That's the thing.
Speaker 5 (35:01):
If you're gonna parlay this stuff together, I try to
get a winner instead of the greatest payout possible. You know,
I could go Patriots minus half a point. That's at
even money, and of course that would make it a
greater payout.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
Crack.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
I just don't want to get hooked.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Yeah, I'm gonna go mine a two hundred.
Speaker 5 (35:20):
If we're both going that direction, I think we both are.
Approach yeah, perfect, because the Patriots are playing their guys right,
You've got you've got some decent quarterbacks. You're gonna see
Jacobe Brissett today, and so that gives us an edge
the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
The Patriots are playing their starter. I was gonna mention
this later, but the Patriots are also playing their starters,
possibly into the second quarter, and Washington is down there
the third string quarterback. So absolutely, I absolutely love that.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
By the way, yeah, my guy Sam Hartman from Notre Dame,
you know, I played one season there, so he's probably
gonna get some action today.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
I love me some Sam, but uh, you.
Speaker 5 (36:01):
Know, if I have to bet the other way, so
be it the way it goes every now and then.
You know, have you been looking at anything outside of football?
Are you just locked in completely the football right now?
Crack any baseball anything off the green?
Speaker 3 (36:16):
You know what. I am playing some first fives in baseball,
but I am uh you know, I actually I'm wrong.
I actually played a baseball game. Uh two days ago.
I played a full game. But preseason football is where
it's at. Where now that's going to be over after
you know today, So we're going to be back into
a couple of baseball games here. What are we gonna
(36:37):
do the next ten days? Well, college football in between
the fours.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
But I I have loved the football's back so much.
I explained to my wife and my kids, because they
just don't seem to get it yet. I'm like, guys,
I was like Alex, Like, what if there was like
a video game and you love to play it, we
can only play it between August and February. You would
spend every time every time he was available to play,
(37:02):
you would play it. Yeah, right, yeah, And like I
I'm gonna have a withdrawal till Thursday until it comes
back on Thursday. I look, I think Colorado beats North
Dakota States, but I am doing radio Friday morning at
six am. If North Kota State wins, that might be
the best day of radio of my entire life, because
(37:23):
that show on Monday, I mean Friday morning, he's gonna
right itself everybody, and with how much noise the Colorado
program makes at all times, if they lose the North
Dakota States, and I don't think they will, like I
just there's so much happening. Next weekend, my ducks finally
play You're Irish, Brian. I got him plus I got
(37:44):
him plus three. By the way, I took plus three
at am. I don't get that number quite honestly, Like
I don't the no name, I mean the A and
M thing, like we don't know what they're gonna be.
They have a new coach, like I know elco is good,
but like I think, like I know what the Irish
are going to be. So I got plus three, which
is it probably is not going to three and a half.
(38:04):
It's probably gonna go the other direction, I think, I think.
So I have three wagers for next weekend. I said
I had two, I have three. I forgot about the
Irish plus three there, so, oh I cannot.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
I have a good line, Jeffs. Just to let you know,
I'm looking at my screen with twenty five different sports books.
That's a good line. You got plus three?
Speaker 4 (38:23):
We notre dame, right, Yeah, I want to jump the
other day to three.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Yeah, yeah, that's two and a half.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Sammy, that was Sammy P was the one who notified
us to the three. So I'll take that when you can.
That's one thing too. We talked about like having good
people to tell you the information but also help the
voices back. I hope, I hope the voice is back
this year. Yeah yeah, yeah, I cannot wait.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
What was that there was a movie with Denzel Washington
and Mexico Mann Fire the voice Voice Voice. We have
our own American version of the voice here, which we've
never revealed, and we won't, but we'll give you the place.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
The voice has been quiet, so we'll see if the
voice comes back. Tell about the sports, Brian, I've been
on the WNBA a lot. I guys, the Fever. The
Fever are a great live wager because there are games
when Clark starts slow and you know she's not going
to finish slow, and the Fever sort of go like
in up and down. They're not a great team at points,
(39:20):
and then they play really well. Anytime you get like
ten plus points in the Fever, which I did yesterday,
I's able to grab them live plus plus eleven and
a half. It's a they're playing much better basketball now
and they're not losing lots of games by ten plus
points if they're losing at all.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
The only thing I dislike about the WNBA. You know me, Jeff.
We're betting this stuff left and right.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
But the thing I dislike is that they don't have
any live props they do. It's just a one way
market where you're going.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
It's it's the X points live right, It's like you
could take the score over eighteen it's minus a thousand.
Come on.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
I wish they would have a two way market live props,
but it's just not offered when it comes to WNBA.
Now that the popularity is growing and growing, maybe maybe
the betting landscape will grow as well with it.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
But I mean she started, oh for it yesterday, I
was gonna hammer the over and I would we would
have won, I mean scored. Oh yet we were twenty
five points.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
So WNBA is a good place to wager if you
if you pay attention. I got Angel Reese under thirteen
and a half points today noon to an hour.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
That's right, countdown to tip off?
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Yeah, what was it yesterday?
Speaker 5 (40:34):
Real fast for Caitlin the points assistant rebounds.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
It was for.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
Thirty six and a half and she hit it. She
got to thirty thirty five and hours she got to
thirty six. There we go.
Speaker 5 (40:42):
We made it all right, Okay, coming up next, this
is so insanely weak.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
We'll have details.
Speaker 5 (40:50):
Oh, welcome in here, Happy Sunday to you.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Ball is back.
Speaker 5 (40:56):
We had four college football games all the main slay.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
We have more than that.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Actually, right, we had some FCS games going on. Dogs
were barking in a big way. We'll circle back to
that with Florida State going down to Georgia Tech and
all that good stuff. But looking at another big college
football story, Jeff, you mentioned this in Passing, but Deon
Sanders coach prime over there at Colorado. So the news
(41:22):
this week is that Colorado won't take questions from a
Denver Post columnist after what the school calls a series
of sustained personal attacks.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
This is Sean Keeler.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
He's a columnist for the Denver Post, and he had
an exchange during media day in August ninth with Deon Sanders,
just like a little back and forth. And so the
school they're just not taking questions from the guy at all.
And this is in Deon Sanders contract, where he's only
obligated to speak to mutually agreed upon media. So he
(42:02):
gives you the the thumbs up, go ahead, fire away,
ask the question. If he goes a Roman Emperor thumbs down, Nope,
you don't get to ask any questions over It is
so weak, Jeff, You're famous saying what are we doing here?
This is major sports and you're freezing people out.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
This is so childish. And I like Dion.
Speaker 5 (42:25):
I think Dion is amazing for college football, but this
is absolutely thin skinned and completely weak.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
It's laughable to me.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
So the part about being the reporter, I mean, look,
it's happened before USC did a couple of years ago,
and we've there was a a bunch of backlash within
the USC sort of media community, and the eventually the
media member was reinstated. The difference here is the Colorado
(43:01):
media is so pro da, nothing's going to happen, right.
And remember Trump said I was in twenty sixteen when
he was in his when he was doing a rally,
I think it was twenty sixteen where he said if
I shot someone on Fifth Street, no, none of my
followers would leave me. That was sort of he said.
It was some sort of comment like that, right if
(43:23):
I if I if I shot someone on Fifth Street,
my followers would it would would would never would would
would would would never leave me. Yes, it was. It
was in a I could shoot someone and I wouldn't
lose any voters. That was in January of twenty sixteen.
It feels like that's the case here in Colorado, no
(43:43):
matter what happens to the program, there's a certain section
of people in the media that cover the team that
will always defend what Dionna is doing. You might not
like what Sean Keeler is writing, and it's funny because,
I mean, nationally, no one really knew who he was
until now everyone's reading what he's written about about dion
The fact that you have a clause in your contracts
(44:05):
and I'm only talking to people I want to talk
to when that's not there for the Tad Boyle, their
men's basketball coach. It's not there for the women's basketball coach.
It's not there for Dan Lanning and Nick Saban and
Kirby Smart and all these guys. Only in Colorado. You
have to be able to take the good and the
bad if you're a coach, or if you're going to
preach that to your to your you know, to your
your t your team, you know, tune out the noise, right,
(44:28):
don't listen to the haters, don't respond to the haters.
Then you go ahead and do the exact opposite of that.
Because you don't like what someone's writing about you, not
everyone's gonna like you. Man, that's part of being a coach.
You're not going to be like everyone. Players aren't like everyone. Yeah,
some of the insults you might not like. The Bruce
Lee of BS was one of them. I thought it
was interesting, you know, and whatnot. But the fact is
(44:49):
the program talks like they are winning and they have
not done that yet. Now they might do that this season. Guys, absolutely,
I think they're going six and six. By the way,
I said that the other day, Colorado fan's gonna ain't
greet me. I was like that your wintol's five and
a half. I don't know, you're going over your window. Everyone,
six and six. That's actually that in year two of
a rebuilt it's a good six and six is good.
(45:10):
I don't know what you want from me, Colorado fans
and uh. And so you can't preach like this sort
of toughness of your program, yeah, and tune out the
haters and then go ahead and pull a move like this.
That again is and what should happen The appropriate response
prize everyone in Colorado media should be like, you need
(45:31):
to bring him back, you need to reinstate him to
ask you questions, you need to like that should be
the response said it's like, no, Dion's right, guys, and
that that coddling around the program is not how a
program should be covered.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
Jeff, you said it right. I mean, you're gonna have
haters in any kind of a spotlight. I mean you
can look back in time. I'm not gonna be political.
I'm gonna go back a lot further in time. Jesus
Christ himself had haters. They they hung them to the cross.
I mean, it's gonna happen everywhere. If he's gonna have haters,
(46:07):
everyone's gonna have haters. But are we really in a
time where you can't ask negative questions to a coach?
Isn't this what the media should be good at? You know?
I mean I don't know, ask any kind of question possible.
I think Dion and Colorado being a little bit too
sensitive here in my own opinion.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
Yeah, this was one of the other exchanges that I
thought was laughable. This goes back to Media Day on
August ninth. But uh, Deion Sanders didn't like something from CBS.
We're guessing it was maybe a column from somebody else where.
Dion was ranked the second first head coach and.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
Suppose he had to do with something they wrote about
his son. It had to do with the like the
coaching rankings. That's the word. No one will say it,
but like that that's what like it's sort of has
been talked about.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
Yes, we still aren't quite sure, but you might be right, Jeff.
Where it was more about uh shoulder.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
And about I think it was about Shiloh.
Speaker 5 (47:03):
Okay, you punch the guy and yes, yeah court case,
yes okay.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Uh and this was this was the exchange. Check this out.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Eric Kristensen with CBS Sports Colorado Tyler, I'm not doing
none with CBS.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
Next question with you.
Speaker 7 (47:20):
It's above that. You got none to do with you.
I got love for you, I appreciate, respect you, and
got none to do with you.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
They know what they did. I'm here deadver, not national.
Speaker 7 (47:30):
You are who you are, the CBS, CBS, all right.
I respect you, That's why I told you that. I'm
looking at you, and I as a man, I respect you.
I got love for you. But what they did was found.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
So we're freezing out the local CBS guy because he's
affiliated with CBS the company as a whole.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
Come on, man, Like, here's the thing I'll say real fast.
Speaker 5 (47:53):
Jeff is some people are saying, hey, any press is
good press. This is what Dion Sanders does. He gets attention,
he gets eyeballs.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
Listen. I wouldn't want to be known for this. I
wouldn't want to.
Speaker 5 (48:06):
Be known for being so thin skinned and so petty
that I'm freezing out the local CBS reporter who has
nothing to do with whatever other column or whatever piece
came out that you disagree with. It's like, dude, this
is so childish.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
This is some Pop Warner stuff.
Speaker 5 (48:26):
If Pop Warner was covered by the media, I would
expect a coach to act this way. I don't expect
a coach like Deion Sanders at a major college program
to act like this.
Speaker 4 (48:36):
What's also, well, he's so by the way, Like a
week later he said that he will he's granting this
guy a interview. He like apologized, So just an update
on that. But the fact is, like the impulse of this, right, Brian,
Like the impulse to lash out at the media because
they don't cover you the way that you want to
be covered. And I go back to the idea. Looked
(49:00):
Colorado might win eight games, nine games this year. I
I don't think so. They're They're one deep team. They
have one deep they don't if they get any injuries,
Like that's sort of and that's the problem with recruiting
through the portal is you just don't have a lot
of guys you've built up in the programming. You need
those guys, especially with injuries happen. Anythink relying on portal
players for depth is sort of not what wins in
(49:20):
the end. But you know, Sean Keeler's point in a
lot of his articles, like you talk a big game
and you haven't really backed it up yet. You haven't
earned the you know, the praise that you think you deserve.
And whether you agree with that or not, he was
four and eight last year. The thing that there's something
about Colorado that I find so interesting. So people will
(49:41):
say that they went from one win to four wins,
like that's, yeah, it's a big improvement. I grant you that.
You're sure Northwestern went from one to seven guys like
the other teams have also improved a lot in year
one at or a new coach and the refrain as well,
the culture of Colorado was bad and yes, okay, sure,
but guys, he did it with mostly his own players.
(50:02):
Though it wasn't like he did with Darrell's players. That
was that those were his guys, Brian, they had the
two deep. There were three returners last season. So he
went four andy eight with his own football players, not
Fournight with college Urrell's football players. Broad and Northwestern went
seven and five with with with what was the Fitzgerald's players,
(50:23):
Like he got that wasn't the case here. So like,
I just think that that's where the pushback is from
Killer and no one else seems to be defending MS.
I don't know, you know, if this happened in at Georgia,
it happened at USC eight too, with two years ago
now and the media down there was like, no, you
better bring that kid back to back to covering the team.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
Bet MGM has Colorado over five and a half minus
one thirty five. Uh so, what what did Jeff? What
did you say they were gonna win?
Speaker 4 (50:50):
I think they're going six and six.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
I didn't. I don't wait the wager, Oliver, but it's
a it's a tough number then.
Speaker 4 (50:55):
So I don't my my philosophy. To be honest with you,
this way, I bet college and NFL futures for win totals.
I don't bet overs if I think they're gonna win
a half game over the number. I will bet under
if I think they're gonna be a four win team
in the totals four and a half. I don't call
the other direction. I feel that because I feel like
(51:16):
you land on like you know, like you've have over
eight and a half, you land on eight, so much
like just give me the under. So like that. That's
why I that's my philosophy on totals. I go, if
it's four and a half and I think you're gonna
under on, fine with you finish you four and eight,
But thinking like you're gonna be five and seven, I don't.
So I didn't bet Colorado's win total. I thin they're
six and six. I went through their schedule, their roster.
(51:38):
That's where I think they're gonna be at Colorado fans
didn't like me for that take, Okay, but that's where
they're at. I mean, I think they're gonna be saying
six team, gotcha.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
I'll just say this real fast.
Speaker 5 (51:49):
Is the one thing I dislike about the UH If
you say something critical about Dion Sanders or Colorado, where
a lot of times it's autumn madically taken as well.
Speaker 1 (52:02):
You just dislike Deon Sanders. You disliked the program.
Speaker 5 (52:05):
You've got ulterior motives, you've got some type of agenda.
This is a personal attack. That's what I dislike is
there's no personal attack. This is just thin skinned. If
there's a reporter that's writing things in a column and
basically saying, show me the goods, show me the wins,
right like, that is not a personal attack. And to
(52:26):
freeze a guy out, sorry, that's just weak. I just
dislike where Deon Sanders is a lightning rod. I get it,
he's a polarizing figure. But if you have something critical
to say last season, good lord, if you say, if
you didn't get up fully aboard the Colorado hype train
after they beat TCU, if you didn't say, man, look out,
they're gonna win ten games, you're gonna challenge for the
(52:47):
national championship. The most popular bet was shaduur Sanders to
win the Heisman. If you're like, guys, they're not gonna
win enough games for him to win the Heisman, you're
branded this hater and you you just disliked it. That's
what I dislike is not every critical statement is automatically
a personal attack and you could just go to bed, like, oh,
(53:08):
if Stean Sanders could just lose, it would make my world.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
Come on.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
I hate that it's taken like that automatically by a
lot of people.
Speaker 4 (53:17):
Run Diana's great for our business. You don't understand he
is great for our business. I root for the business
matter a lot of times, like I root for organ
in the business. Remember last year when they lost to Orgon,
people were infuriated, like Dan Lanning went for two, like
it was like a personal insult to them that Landing
went for two against Colorado, Like it's like, buddy, you know,
don't play for Colorado, Like it's not insulting to you.
(53:41):
They finished win and eight in the conference last year,
one in eight, and people say, well they lost x
games by close. They also won games by by by
less than a touchdown too, so you can't have it
both ways. They all lost to USC by seven. Well,
it only being Arizona State by three like us. He
was seven and five last season, guys, So you can't
have it both ways. And so look Thursday they play
(54:03):
in North North Kota State. Again. I think they win.
I think they cover. But if they lose, it is
going to be people be dancing on Colorado's graam. I'll
tell you that.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
Yeah, you know, guys, I had a coach Barriotam on
my podcast a couple of weeks ago for UNLV coach here,
former coach for some bigger teams Missouri and stuff. So listen,
I don't even know how I don't have an in me.
I'm sure you guys don't either. I would never even
ask a tough question, you know how bad I wanted
to ask Barriotam, are they going to win them more
(54:33):
than seven games? Because that's the season total. But I mean,
like I almost wanted to say, asking for a friend,
mister odom, who do you think you guys are gonna
win more than seven games? Like? You know? But I mean,
you don't want to put these guys in bad spots
and bad lights. Not granted, I'll tell you right now,
Dion does that himself because he's flashy and you know
(54:54):
he is what he is. So I guess I get
some of the reporters, but it's just it's not to
do something like that.
Speaker 5 (55:01):

So we knew getting back to the preseason that Aaron
Rodgers was not going to play yesterday against the Giants.
Aaron Rodgers didn't play in the preseason at all. And listen,
I partially get it. You don't want to lose him
in the preseason a year after he got hurt after
(56:37):
what four snaps. I totally understand that, But that's not
the only thing at play here. Their Week one opponent,
the Niners who won the NFC were in the Super Bowl.
Their main guys played this week in the preseason. Brock
Perdy was out there against the Raiders, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle.
Those guys are out there getting reps. Mahomes is out
(56:59):
there in the preseason, like you could play this game
with any valuable quarterback, Like why are they risking it?
There's some value Otherwise they wouldn't be out there at all.
And I think it's not just the injury situation with
Rogers to consider. He didn't get any reps in the
preseason and Week one on the road against the Niners,
(57:21):
he's supposed to hit the ground running.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
I just think that I would have.
Speaker 5 (57:25):
Liked to see him get out there for at least
a couple of series. He's got these teammates that he
hasn't been in game situations with. That's the closest thing
to it. I don't know, guys, are you joining the
chorus because everybody seems like, no, you can't risk it,
You could not risk it.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
What are they risking? Though? Like my point with a
lot of this stuff, Brian is how many how many
injuries do we have? This year was started with starters
in the preseason. So the McCarthy hurt his knee, was
that a preseason game or a practice?
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (57:53):
It was preseason against them?
Speaker 4 (57:54):
And in Hollywood Brown like that's about it, right, like
of like the guys that are that are gonna play.
So two a freak injury for a rookie quarterback and
another a dislocated collar bone which is a classical, which
is a freak injury for a wide receiver. That's it.
And you're right about Rogers having to play with new
with new offensive lineman now the only count I will
say that to this, Brian is is I didn't watch
(58:15):
a lot of Jets preseason. They're one of the teams
that just did not care about playing at all. Is
if you're gonna play your starting quarterback, you have to
play your starting offensive line. And then we're not gonna
play Tron Smith and they're working to play Morgan Moses
their two tackles. I get now, they drafted Olufshaanna, who
should fill in for one of those guys, and you
should be fine. But just like something would have been nice.
(58:36):
Even the Panthers played Bryce Young yesterday for a drive
and like, if you're a Panthers fan, he played, well,
you were like, oh, finally, like something that give us
excitement for the season crack. And so I was surprised
Rogers has not played. And I guess I don't know
the purpose of it, Like what's the harm in putting
him out there for two drives in the preseason?
Speaker 3 (58:56):
Yeah, you know, I guess I I guess I kind
of see you both on both sides. I mean, I
guess I don't think it's a mistake. If I mean,
if anyone doesn't need preseason snaps, it might be Rogers.
I mean he knows the game more than in the
active quarterback in the NFL, forty years old and less
than a year off an achilles tear. I think he
said personally, preseason isn't real football, so why risk putting
(59:19):
them out there. I guess I'm fine when I'm not playing.
Maybe he just didn't need it. But you know, Jeff,
I'll ask you, like when you were playing, would you
have cared if was that Eli Manning or Jake Dellaholme
didn't play in your preseason or did it not? Did
it mean if we're out there.
Speaker 4 (59:34):
I think some preseason is good. I don't think all
preseason is great, but I think playing the starting quarterback
for some of it you feel good. And during the
regular season, I know another place. You know, when we
played poorly, I felt bad about like we got a bet.
When you score a touchdown or two, you just feel
good about all the work you've done in the preseason.
You know the work I put in. We feel good.
Things are vibing well, especially if you haven't played with Rogers,
(59:56):
like it'd be good to get out there and field
the game situation with him. This simple stuff is audible
and changing plays and hearing cadence and being the rhythm
down of certain plays. Don't tell you that on the road,
Ti Fisco.
Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
Now personally, I actually I'm glad it wasn't out there.
Maybe that'll be better for me. Listen, I my allegiance
is my bank roll only, so I don't care about
none of these guys. They don't care about me. So
I'll tell you right now. I bet under. I'm looking
right now. I bet under under the Jets eight and
a half wins plus three to one on an alternate
(01:00:30):
win total earlier this year. People really love that. Uh,
people really loved the Jets this year betting over so
I actually got some. I think I got some. But
by the way, those alternate win totals. I did the
same thing with the Giants, same thing with Vegas, same
thing with the Bears, like taking almost three to one
on all of them on their on their alternate win totals.
So lots and lots of action.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
So I might have an under for you here crack
oh right here.
Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Yeah, I'm thinking listen, when you have no preseason action
for Aaron Rodgers who wanted to be out there. Remember
when Robert Salah was like, and Rogers was like, that's
news to me. He wanted to be out there and
get a few reps and feel it out, get get
hit a couple of times.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
You know, I just think it's gonna be really tough.
Speaker 5 (01:01:21):
Jeff, you made a great point with audible ing and
just the little things like working the bugs out, working
the kinks out. You got to do that on the
road in week one at San Francisco, on you know,
a major stage.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
That's not the easiest thing to do.
Speaker 5 (01:01:37):
So I just look at and the numbers aren't out
yet on bet MGM, but I've got first half under
in mind. I've got first half Niners in mind, because listen,
brock Party. We know that Aaron Rodgers is a better
individual quarterback than brock Party, but brock Party is seventeen
and four with the Niners as a starter, Like, he's
(01:01:59):
gotten so many more reps with his guys around him
compared to Aaron Rodgers. And when you look at the
Jets having a really really strong defense and then you're
expecting Rogers and that offense to hit the ground running
on the road like that, that just doesn't scream a
lot of points or Jets leading at the halftime.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
To me, I got my mind on both of those things.
When the numbers are released.
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Oh, you considered all about the Niners though, right, I mean,
Trent Williams is not back yet, Ricky Pearsol seems hurt,
Brendan you guys haven't played, and Kyle Shanahan. This is
that gets the counter to Robert Sola's point about not
playing Rogers. Brock Party got batter in the preseason behind
a backup off. It's a line. It was not pretty.
He got hit a bunch of the Raiders the other
night they played, got hit a bunch against the Raiders and.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
Tried to make a tackle on it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
Interception. Don't do that, buddy. Yeah, So that's the counter.
Right as you look at brock Party, the Niners, I
don't feel great about the vibes are not maculate heading
into the into the regular season.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
No they aren't.
Speaker 3 (01:03:03):
And that line, by the way, that that line Brian's
talking about the first half not out yet. That but
the San Fran line actually opened up at six, been
up for months and it's all Jet money. I mean,
it's a steady solid four here in Vegas. Even laying
a dollar and change laying a dollar fifteen here in Vegas,
all Jet money here, so this will be interesting. And
(01:03:25):
Jeff saying what you just said about San Fran Listen,
I guess you know we're not going to fall We're
three veterans here. Of let's just be blunt sports betting.
We're three veterans here. We're not going to fall into
the trap of watching something preseason and letting, as I've
said in the past, letting that influence our regular season bets.
(01:03:47):
But you do pick up little things when the starters
play that first quarter, you could pick up little nuggets
of wisdom to see if they're rusty or not. So
you know, we don't even know if Rodgers is rushed
here not because we haven't got a glimpse of them.
So interesting situation here week one.
Speaker 5 (01:04:05):
No doubt, all right, Always interesting. Is mister Isaac Lohenkron,
who is with us this morning? I love what is
going on, Bud? What's the latest, Indean Brian.
Speaker 10 (01:04:13):
It has been an interesting and busy morning in the
NFL with multiple outlets supporting that the Miami Dolphins are
releasing quarterback Mike White. That means that Skyler Thompson will
serve as the backup four two at tonguea by Loa.
ESPN reported the Los Angeles Rams have granted starting linebacker
Ernest Jones permission to seek a trade. Jones was the

of his contract. NFL media reports the Jacksonville Jaguars released

Diego finally fellas back to the NFL because more details
emerged last night about the incident on Friday night that
saw about a dozen Los Angeles Chargers players get stuck
in an elevator at the team hotel in Dallas preceding
Saturday's game against the Cowboys. Players had to be extracted
(01:05:37):
through the elevator's ceiling panel by the Dallas Fire Department
Search and Rescue team. Thankfully, no one was injured, but
yesterday head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed that the players were
stuck in the elevator for two hours and that one
of the players who was stuck in the elevator none
other than franchise quarterback Justin Herbert and in true Harbaugh
(01:06:00):
as he said, and I quote, I wish I could
have been there.
Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
With those guys.
Speaker 10 (01:06:05):
It was a shared experience that brought them closer together
unquote literally back to you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:06:12):
Wow, that just sounds like a hard bough quote right there.
Absolutely it is.
Speaker 5 (01:06:16):

where which team should be more concerned about its quarterback? Okay,
(01:06:57):
if you're a fan of this team, of of these teams,
which would concern you more? Would it be the Browns
with Deshaun Watson or would it be the Colts with
Anthony Richardson? And the deal with both of these guys.
Toshaun Watson, he hasn't done much of anything since joining
the Browns. He's got what fourteen touchdown pass his nine interceptions.
(01:07:18):
Now he's got arm soreness kept him out of practice
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
During the week.
Speaker 5 (01:07:23):
And then Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, you know the deal
with him. So he was the fourth overall pick. He
only played four games last season. He's been very iffy,
at least in the preseason against the Bengals joint practices.
They're talking trash, like does all this guy do is run?
That's what some of the corners are talking about. And
he doesn't see the field he's just throwing the spots
(01:07:45):
that he looked really shaky against the Bengals. That's the thing, man,
if you're not accurate in the NFL, you're not gonna
be good, which would concern you more. Jeff, I know
you've got a Browns bet. Are you more concerned with
DeShawn or with Anthony Richardson.
Speaker 4 (01:07:58):
I am more concerned with Deshaun because he is playing
with a team that has to win now essentially, right,
they're built to win in this moment. He is an
older player. They are guaranteeing his salary for years to come. Brian,
there's no getting out of this. Like they paid a
premium for him because they were kind of forced to
(01:08:21):
if they wanted him. But nonetheless, like this is the
it's a problem. I mean, Browns are gonna be good
if Watson just be average. I gets type of teammate.
The Colts are not winning the AFC this season. This
is a year because Richardson missed most of the last
year to solidify your team around the quarterback, to make
sure he's good enough for year three. Let's go full
(01:08:43):
steam ahead, right, sort of like the Texans did in
year one. They got Stroud played well, Boom you want
to end the year two with originally thinking Okay, we
can make them jump into AFCC teners in year three
with him. The Browns need Watson to be good today,
they need him to be good now. They're a win
now team and it really worries me that well, look,
(01:09:04):
only anyone's rooting for Deshaun Watson. But the fact is,
like it worries me, the Browns are gonna stink again,
not again, but not be as good they've been the
plus but flack of last year, not be as good
this year because of Watson versus where they can be
if Watson's just average.
Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
I think this question is because of these two guys
they get It's an easy answer for me. The Colt
should be more concerned here. Richard Yeah, I mean Richardson
is just he has not proven he can play quarterback
in the NFL consistently yet his style of play seventeen
game season. Can he make throws? Will they need to
be able to make you know, these type of throws
(01:09:39):
and actually win games with his arm and accuracy. Now
going over to Watson, who I'm so mad at over
the years, I've lost so much money. One of the
rare losses of season win losses, which I've I'm not
season wins, I'm sorry, the rare player props, which normally
I bet under on, but my guys thought that Watson
was going to have good years. But bet over on
(01:10:00):
lost a lot of money on this guy. The Browns
concerns what Watson are mostly health related and maybe even
a little mental. You know, Watson has proved though he
can play this game at this level. He's only twenty
eight years old. Still, it's not like you know, he's
passed any prime or anything. Cleveland just has to worry
about his health. And like I said, mentally, if he's
ready to get back in the spotlight, if you can,
I'll tell you why. I think Cleveland might even be
(01:10:22):
a legit contender for the AFC if he's But I
just don't know if he can get to that level.
I don't know. We'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:10:28):
I think you could look at it a few different ways,
where I think DeShawn definitely has the more talented supporting cast.
He's got a more talented roster. But I look at
this the way I would break the tie is if
both underperform, which franchise is hurt more by that, and
it's the Browns by a landslide, Like the Browns gave
(01:10:49):
up first round picks in three straight years and then
more to get to Shawn, then gave him two hundred
and thirty million dollars in guaranteed cash, like so much money, sick. Yes,
his cap number this year is just under sixty four million,
and it'll be the same thing next year and the
same thing the year after.
Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
We're talking.
Speaker 5 (01:11:08):
This year, twenty two percent of the cap is Deshawn's.
It's gonna be about twenty five percent of the cap
next season. So if this guy is underperforming, the cost
in draft capital and the contract, the cap hits at
least Richardson's on a rookie deal, you know, and the
(01:11:28):
Colts could pivot and move on. It'd be easier for
the Colts to move on than the Browns, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
Absolutely, And you know the cap is a big deal, right,
I mean, Mahomes is the first quarterback to win, I
mean making more than twelve percent of the salary cap,
you know, Like it's hard to it's hard to do that.
And they've guaranted it's a guaranteed money, right, Brian No
One's gonna take on to Shaan Watson's contract, So if
you want to trade him after the season, you have
to pay the full contract and someone will you know,
the Russell Wilson thing, right, like, yeah, you know the
(01:11:57):
students are paying the Broncos right now to basically take
take Russell Wilson. That's whats gonna happen with Deshaun Watson.
I don't what's gonna do that. I mean, if he
doesn't play well this season, who's no. But you're stuck
with him and you've made a bad decision, which, by
the way, I feel like you sort of see coming.
I mean, guy sits out a year. I think he
sat a year. I sat out a whole year.
Speaker 5 (01:12:18):
Well it was like eleven games, yeah, suspension.
Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
But the year before that, didn't say out in Houston,
play that whole year.
Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
Right right?
Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
Well yeah, because right we were waiting to see what
was gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
Yeah, and you know, it just it feels like an
unnecessary unforced air by by the Browns, Like it's it
was too much money at the time, it was a
ridiculous contract at the time. He's the only player I
guess to take it a back Cousins has had guaranteed contracts.
He's the only player to have sort of the background
(01:12:50):
that he had has still has. I don't know if
you want to if it's past tense or not to
get a guarantee contract of that magnitude. His touch is
so above and beyond anyone else, is that no one's
normally you negotiate your deal off the last deal, right,
so the next quarterback to get paid will negotiate off
the to a deal or off the the The Trevor
(01:13:11):
Lawrence deal they threw. The Watson deal was like thrown aside.
It was like, you're not even discussing this as a
contract that the rest of us are going to abide
by in the National Football League. It was a bad
contract and they sold their soul for Deshaun Watson and
it has not paid off.
Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
Yeah, I think a couple of things real fast is
this is going to sound ridiculous at first, but it
did hurt the quarterback market in terms of guys getting
if they.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
Weren't desired finitely fully guaranteed.
Speaker 5 (01:13:40):
The imagine if DeShawn was this megastar, like he goes
to the Browns and he's killing it to Jeff's point,
that's like the going rate now for the top guys,
and that that did not happen. And the other thing,
isn't it amazing how quickly things change in the NFL.
Look at the Houston Texans. You rewind a couple of years.
DeShawn once trade me and you're thinking, man, what are
(01:14:02):
they gonna do? They don't have much talent? That covered
is bear now they hit on CJ.
Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
Stroud. Nick Cassario's done a really good job over there.
Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
That's a talented roster, and it seems like they just
snapped their fingers and it's like, man, here come the
Texans ten win team last season.
Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
They can turn around fast. There's no doubt.
Speaker 5 (01:14:20):
We've got Bill Krackenberger from crackwins dot com sports handicapper,
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian now coming
up next, ah our bonding time.
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
Prop it up. We'll lock the prop bet market.
Speaker 5 (01:14:32):
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff presented by BETMGM.
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff presented by
bet MGM. Once a day, Monday through Friday. Play the
free to play BETMGM Ultimate Teams to receive an Ultimate
team's card with the Pro Football team and spread. If
that team covers the spread that NFL week, you can
(01:14:55):
win prizes. Play every day Monday through Friday. Have all
five of your teams cover, and you're eligible to win
bet MGM's weekly jackpot.
Speaker 1 (01:15:05):
All right, let's dive into this.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Prop it up player plays.
Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
Okay, prop bets Gore Crack. We'll start with you, man,
what's something you have circled today?
Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
Okay, I'm going to the w NBA. Come to the
Chicago team. And you know her first name is Shennanay Carter.
I don't know what I'm chanding Kennedy Kennedy Carter. Okay
to see silent, Yes, you could see. I don't have
to know people's names all I have to know what
the line is and what the stats are in the analytics.
(01:15:37):
So let's go with the over her points over nineteen
and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
She scores a lot of points. Oh, she's very she's
very good. I will stay in that game. I like
injuries under thirteen half points the Aces have. We know
they have a good interior play. Injury shoots like forty.
It's just it's not great I'll go injuries under thirteen half.
Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
I feel so bad that I don't have a WNBA
prome right now. Man, I feel terrible, but I'm going baseball.
Here on you the two jose L two Ve of
the Astros. This guy is red hot against the Oriole
starting pitcher Doug Kramer. So lifetime jose L two Ve
is seven for eleven. He's hitting six thirty six against
(01:16:26):
this picture. So I'm looking at the total bases, I'm
going plus one fifteen. Give me the over on L
two A total bases. You could look at the hits market.
Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
It's a bigger payout to go over one and a
half hits. I don't know. I think it's tougher to
have a multi hit game.
Speaker 5 (01:16:43):
So I'll go over one and a half total bases
for L two A, who has been absolutely crushing the
Oriole starting pitcher in Doug Kramer.
Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
Give me the two. Here's what I have.
Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
Sometimes when you in baseball like own it, just like
there are players and pitchers that own each other and
like it. That's just the career. They see that that picture, well,
and are they the bat or the pitcher knows the
bat or well, And that's just just what it is,
and it's good a wager on those things.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (01:17:16):
There's another one in the opposite way. It's just to
throw it on your radar, Randy a rose Arena. It's
not farewell against your giant starting pitcher over there, Jeff
and Robbie Ray.
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
Robbie Ray is like, eh, pleas all right, Robbie Ray.
Speaker 5 (01:17:31):
You know a Rosa Raina lifetime is three for twenty
two against Robbie Ray. So it's the same payout plus
one point fifteen if you go under on azo point
five hits for a Rose Raina. If you're betting on
him to be hitless, this would be a decent spot
to do it. And he's been hitless.
Speaker 1 (01:17:50):
I was checking.
Speaker 5 (01:17:51):
I think three of the last five games. He's not
been crushing yet. I like a rose A Raina, but
he hasn't been hitting the ball well, and he does
not fair well add all against Robbie Ray three for
twenty two.
Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Then you can for.
Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
Giants play, which is the problem.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
You don't have to watch it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
You don't have to watch it's certainly fair because I
would not watch the Giants play. The other night, by
the way, it was late at night, like eleven fifteen
at night, I was I was sleeping. Brian had texted
me my phone was silent, said, Hey, the Mirrors they
really extinct right now. They fired their coaches.
Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
We know that.
Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
I think they lost nine to ten. Like you need
to wager on the team playing the Mirrors every night
because they's plus money. Like yeah, And then the Mirrors
came back and scored one four in the bottom of
the eighth and beat the Giants that night. I woke up.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
I was like it this guy, this guy they watch yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Yesterday we talked a text about every single sport. So
if it was a sport to me to I just
I looked at my wagers. I did my calculations during
the breaks. In the last couple of days, my Kamala
Harris to win democratic nominee finally went through. So you'll
wait during everything, guys.
Speaker 1 (01:18:59):
And that's we never that's the running joke.
Speaker 5 (01:19:01):
We never asked like, hey, how were the kids, Hey, Brian,
how's the girlfriend doing nothing with life?
Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
No break?
Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
Yeah, Kamala Harris demograhy nominee.
Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
Oh God, take it easy with these political things. Here
in my pockets California night.
Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
Oh, I well, we got it. We got that tip
on JD Vance. I hit that hard to be the
the VP there too. There's a lot of mine on
the politics market if you can have a little.
Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
Honestly, there is a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:19:28):
Yeah. Nor your lines are bad on electure night too.
Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
Let's take it somewhere else.
Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
We get there, We'll get there.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
Yeah, let's take it somewhere else for a second. Here,
did you guys here? And we'll talk about it when
the break comes back. Did you hear about the six
point four million dollar progressive hit on bet MGM? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
Did hearo point four million?
Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
We're gonna talk about it on the other side of
the break, all right. I liked it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:53):
Yeah, we'll come back to that. Also, we'll look ahead
by me. Had a little bit of college football yesterday.
Let's look ahead to week one. Anything we have circled,
we'll discuss. Oh what is going on? Happy Sunday to you.
You know it's funny.
Speaker 5 (01:20:07):
I was thinking, when the regular season rolls around in
the NFL, we literally do countdown to kickoff where we'd say, hey,
we're less than an hour away from kickoff, YadA YadA.
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
Can we do that for the preseason?
Speaker 5 (01:20:19):
We're less than two hours away from kickoff in this
Titans game, cash on this thing, right? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
Yeah, of course we can.
Speaker 1 (01:20:28):
I think we can do that. Yeah, it's on an
NFL network.
Speaker 5 (01:20:30):
We're on the Titans playing starters against the Saints. Yeah,
so looking forward to that. We owe you the progressive
jackpot thing that you wanted to hit on their correct Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
I just listen. I'm not a guy that's an online
casinos too often, and I just did. I had no
idea that you can win a jackpot that large. As
a matter of fact, I'm gonna read it right from
their their socials. Bet MGM casino player won six point
four million dollars in a progress set of jackpot. It's
(01:21:01):
the largest jackpot in the history of the legalized online
casino in the United States, of any online casino. That's unbelievable.
Six point four million. Adam Greenblat, the CEO of bet MGM,
It's been a summer of field of jackpots, but this
was unbelievable. Imagine winning six point four million. And you know, Jeff,
(01:21:24):
if you're the one that did it, it's okay. You
could tell us now, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
We're like beyond today. If I want to be my
wife would take all my money and take it and
take it elsewhere. Wow, it's pretty cool. Like we've joked about,
like what we would do if we won the lot
and whatnot, and she would not be in the country
very long with the private plane would be gassed up
and we'd be out here. I would probably still be
here because I like you guys though quiet house would
be nice. So no, I would still be here. But no,
(01:21:50):
it was not me.
Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
It was not me.
Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
I'm sorry. I'm sorry to report.
Speaker 1 (01:21:55):
Where would you go first, Jeff if you gassed up
the Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
So, my wife always said that she wants to do
like do buy, but just bring nothing and just shop
what she gets there. Just bring herself and then just
show up and just go ham on the on the
old shop and when she gets there.
Speaker 3 (01:22:15):
Yeah, Brian and I are knock around guys. We know
you could do that. Now give it a break.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
Come on, No, I I I can't. I nothing's gonna
fit me there. I have to bring my own clothes.
She can bring she She's allowed to go by herself
whatever she wants. I'm not going to do buy and
find some two x tall outfits there.
Speaker 5 (01:22:36):
Is that a difference between I'm just curious between guys
and girls because I've never had that. There's nothing wrong
with it. God bless your wife, Jeff. I think that's
a great idea. But as a guy, I've never had
the idea of, Hey, I want to go here and
just buy all new stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
I've never had that. Is that just a me thing
or a guy?
Speaker 4 (01:22:54):
No, No, I think it's I think it's a it's
probably a guy. Think. I have no desire to do
that either. I mean, if I all the money in
the world, I guess I just I don't know. Maybe
I go to more sporting events, like I don't. I
don't do anything. I don't know what I would like.
I'd eat more nicer food.
Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
I guess.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
I don't know what I would do with like with
with I travel, I like to travel. I travel a
little bit more.
Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
Yeah, definitely, that's probably what I would do.
Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
I don't I don't have a desire to do much
else than what I already do.
Speaker 1 (01:23:28):
Now, well, we're on the grind right now.
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
You know, we haven't gotten the six point four million
dollar Progressive jackpot hit just yet, so we're grinding it
out with these week one college football look aheadlines right
like anything, We'll start with you crack anything as we
look forward. We've got a couple of nibbles. Yesterday we
saw Georgia Tech upset Florida State. And as you look forward,
(01:23:52):
anything that you see that you can see some value
in weak.
Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
You know, you got to remember when when when you're
looking at the look ahead lines. Most of these Week
one lines, they've been hammered out the last two months.
They've been up for a while. So personally, I've been
looking at you know, I'm always looking. I'm not gonna
say steal, but for lack of a better word, I'm
looking to steal. I'm looking at the extra games, FCS games,
(01:24:16):
games that haven't been lined all summer, and games a
lot of people don't look at. So I'm happy to
see some of the big games, you know, being played
in Week one Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame like you guys said,
Texas A and m Miami Florida. And it should be
an exciting season with the you know, twelve game playoff
the side of the championship. But I'll look towards those
(01:24:36):
little smaller schools, the FCS games, the schools which I
don't even know. It's funny. Jeff for earlier mentioned two teams.
I think with one was Tarlington and who are they playing?
I don't know where either one. I have no idea
where either one either team is, do you guys?
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
I think McNee state is in New Orleans?
Speaker 3 (01:24:57):
Right? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:24:59):
I don't know what talk in Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
I think the good thing is we don't have to know,
so the public, the public hosts to know. We just
have to know the line is, where the line is
going to go, and what we forecast happening in that games. Good?
Speaker 5 (01:25:11):
That is funny, right crack, because that's another I think
that's another square statement. There are two of them where
they'll they'll say, hey, how many players could you name
from this team?
Speaker 3 (01:25:22):
It cares?
Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
It really loves that. It's about the number correct?
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
I really, you guys? Are you guys? Really? I love it?
I love that's such a sports deep rooted sports betting
skill set that I want to be real blunt. I
don't know if any other shows can have you guys.
Poachers agreed the same time, Jeff jumped in and said,
well who cares, Brian? You said, that's it's such a
(01:25:47):
it's such a skill set needed to have because people,
you know, Joe Public out there. When I did Action
on showtime, I mentioned that and people come after me
and said, well this car I'm not following him. He
can't name fifteen starting quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
I don't have to.
Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
I'm gonna win. Who cares.
Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
I got a text yesterday that a buddy of mine
who I trust, said to McNee state was it was
seventeen and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:26:11):
He made it.
Speaker 4 (01:26:11):
He knows someone that made it nine and a half.
So I was like, sounds great to me. And they
were lost by three.
Speaker 3 (01:26:18):
So excellent. He was right, I'll take it. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:21):
Uh, wrong number fine with me.
Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
Yeah, it's all about the wrong numbers. That's where you pounds.
Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:26:30):
Shifting over to the NFL, we saw a little bit
yesterday from Russell Wilson. Now he only got one drive,
which was kind of odd, but a nice pass to
George Pickens along the sideline. He was two for two
for what it's worth. Let a touchdown scoring drive and
then that was it. Russ was pulled. Justin Fields got
some run.
Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:26:49):
He took a couple of sacks. You know, I had
a couple of completes.
Speaker 4 (01:26:55):
It's weird.
Speaker 1 (01:26:55):
He never holds onto the ball too long.
Speaker 4 (01:26:57):
Never. Never.
Speaker 5 (01:26:59):
I'm curious where you got stand on this. What the
Steelers should do. I think they should start Russ right here,
right now. He's a better quarterback than Justin Fields. I
would look to get Justin Fields on the field. I
think there are like some sub packages and some things
that he could do to put some pressure on defenses.
Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
It's another layer that you have to prepare for.
Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
I would start Russ and look for spots to get
Justin Fields in the game here and there.
Speaker 1 (01:27:25):
What would you say to that, Jeff.
Speaker 4 (01:27:28):
Well, they're going to start Russell Wilson, So whether we
like it or not, he's gonna start.
Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
Do you agree with that?
Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
Well, okay, here's my take on this. They both are
who they are. Like Justin Fields we saw two games ago, right,
missed open guys like not in rhythm. Then he makes
a great throw, then he's able to run. So Justin
Fields provides the Steelers with a juice with as his
(01:27:55):
athleticism that Russell Wilson does not provide anymore. So if
you're playing behind a bad offensive line and you need
some juice, then maybe he's the guy to do that,
but he's not going to be consistently doing what the
offense sort of quote gives you. You know, well, Russell
Wilson will take what the defense gives him. But the
drawbacks are he's not the player anymore to make those
(01:28:17):
extra plays. He's not gonna do that. So the first
sign of like color in his face or hearing that,
he's just gonna throw the ball away. Like so, I mean,
Russell Wilson will probably run your offense better, if that
makes sense, fields might make more plays. In the end,
(01:28:38):
neither is winning nine games for the Steelers, so it
doesn't matter who starts, per se, they're not winning nine games.
Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
His contract, I mean, the five years, two hundred and
forty two million that was with Denver. Now I'm guessing
Pittsburgh has to pick up that, but maybe Denver is
still paying him to Yeah, it's a Denver So I
want to just tell you, come on, who of course
he's going this, not just because with the money, but
(01:29:07):
just coming out yesterday was throwing seven nothing. But yet
after the game, I seen the press conferences there they're
still saying, well, we need three more, we need we
need three more. I think Thomas said three more practices
Pittsburgh on Pittsburgh, and then I'll make a decision. Listen,
come on, Jeff Schreig, it's got to be Wilson in
(01:29:29):
this spot, at least at least out there on the
field in quarter one and maybe mix him in a
little bit. But I think he'll be the quarterback that that.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
There's no there's no like. I guess he is. He
is the quarterback, Like, yeah, there's no like. He has
started both of the games where the starters played, He's
been the starter in training camp. But he's not hurt.
He is the starter.
Speaker 3 (01:29:54):
Why wouldn't Tomlin commit then why wouldn't he say even
after the game, because.
Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
Maybe you don't want to hurt justin Field's feelings, maybe
you want to leave.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
Well.
Speaker 4 (01:30:04):
I mean part of it too, is they play Atlanta,
I think week one. If I'm right on that, you know,
and never wager on anything in Atlanta, by the way,
so don't like go out and wager.
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
I think it's Pittsburgh or nothing that game. It's funny.
Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
Game as a dog is always the way you go
for every reason. You also have just different styles of play.
So if you're Atlanta practicing for for justin fields. You're
looking at a guy that's more mobile, that can make
plays with his legs. Different game plan, Russell Wilson starting
(01:30:39):
different game plan. Atlanta also has the same access to
practice highlights that we have on the internet, and has
access to the film and knows how this works. They
are preparing for Russell Wilson. Where the fields comes into
your point, Brian about in these packages, I'm I'm not
a fan of that at times. I think it destroys
(01:31:01):
the rhythm of the offense and you become too reliant
sometimes and sort of those those gimmicky plays, like like
what if Russell Wilson starts slowing a game. Let's just
say you're bringing fields for this package of plays that
works well, You're to keep them then, yeah, Like it's
it's like you have your guy, roll with your guy.
(01:31:23):
If you want to have third and one a fields
package to run the football to pass, like some sort
of specific situation package. Fine, But the idea of like
just bringing him in for the third drive of the game.
What if Wilson is playing well the first two drives,
but you've already designated a third driver as a justin
fields drive. I don't like those type of things.
Speaker 1 (01:31:43):
I don't like the drive thing.
Speaker 3 (01:31:46):
I look for.
Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
Hey, you know, it's uh, we're at the nine yard line.
Speaker 5 (01:31:52):
You know, we're gonna bring in Justin Fields and look
to do some things with his athleticism, right, something like that.
This is hey, it's it's I don't know that down
it's second in three, you know, or second in one.
We're bringing in Justin Fields, and we're gonna we're gonna
try to do something that's a little against the grain,
a little razzle, dazzle, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
Stuff like that, like bits and pieces. I'm looking you.
I'm not in favor of, hey, drive three, just bringing
Justin Fields. I don't like that at all.
Speaker 5 (01:32:20):
I'm looking for bits and pieces, if anything, to give
a defense more to think.
Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
About during the week as they prepare.
Speaker 5 (01:32:28):
I think that's the best case scenario because I just
can't get behind these people where I'll hear this, like.
Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
I'd go with Justin Fields, he's the ascending player, but
it's like, no, he's not first off, And that's just
a nice.
Speaker 5 (01:32:41):
Way of saying he has been bad for three years
as a passer. He's been bad for three straight seasons.
So I don't understand this fascination with the upside, the
ceiling and ascending player. I think a lot of people
look at Russ where yeah, he's taking a step back,
but he hasn't taken in nine steps back to be
(01:33:01):
at the same level as Justin Fields as the starting quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
That's not where he is. But they're just evaluated completely differently.
Speaker 4 (01:33:09):
I I just I don't understand the upset and maybe
look part of the two is like I'm not an
emotional person. I just am not. I don't have many
highs and lows. Maybe that's I have highs like watching
my kids play sports, like I you know, like like
I don't, you know, like I don't like I don't
(01:33:31):
have emotions when it comes to if a player is
going to be good or not. I hope they're all good.
I don't root against anyone, but like, I'm not, like,
you know what guys, Justin Field is just I know,
deep down it's just gonna be good someday. I'm gonna
be positive. It's I'm not, It's not who I am.
Speaker 3 (01:33:49):
Jeff tell me that when we were in Cincinnati together,
you were throwing things at the screen. You know, you
know that's not normal.
Speaker 4 (01:33:56):
Yeah, it's not normal. I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (01:33:59):
I had one emotion in the entire day and it
comes Brians. But but like even when I watch, even
even to some extent, when I watch my kids sports,
I have people come out to be like you just.
Speaker 4 (01:34:12):
Like don't say anything the whole time. I go, what
am I gonna say? I'm root for my kid, but like,
what am I gonna tell my kid in the pool?
I'm like, come on, go Alex, Like what am I
gonna tell them? In between swims? I don't know. I'm
not a swimmer. Like I can just watch them play sports. Uh,
But like so I don't. I don't feel this type
of way where like I'm like, you know what, justin
Field Russell, they're gonna be better now in Pittsburgh. They
(01:34:34):
are who they are. We know who these guys are
a quarterback. It's easier to just to accept that who
they are and build an offense around them, or just
as a fan be like you know what, yeah, you know,
I hope you can get the best out of them,
but probably not. Then it is to just believe. And
there are people in the NFL that cover the NFL
that like genuinely believe like something some fantasy landed all
of a sudden, Justin Field's gonna be good in Pittsburgh
(01:34:56):
when and I'm good for three years. In Pittsburgh's offense
is not like it's the Chiefs. There's no Hall of
Fame tight end there. There's George Pickens, who's good. Not
is he a top ten wide receiver but seven. Maybe
I don't know like we act like the Steelers' offense.
It's just this juggernaut of Hall of famers that they're
just injecting Fields into. It's not much better than Chicago
(01:35:19):
last season. So I don't understand that idea man of
just that the positivity that never turns out to actually
be the case.
Speaker 1 (01:35:27):
Yeah, no, I hear you on that.
Speaker 5 (01:35:28):
He's Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran Bill Krackenberger with
US sports handicapper. Catch him at crackwins dot com. I'm
Brian No coming up next. Do we have a crisis
on our hands? Someone who is very well known says,
that's exactly what we have. So we'll discuss that. It
is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff, presented by BETMGM.

Speaker 1 (01:36:26):
Okay, I was curious what you guys thought about this.
Speaker 5 (01:36:29):
So Tom Brady, he was at Fanatics Fest and he
was explaining how he thinks there is a quarterback crisis
on our hands with rookie starting.
Speaker 1 (01:36:40):
So check this out. I'm curious what you guys think
about it.
Speaker 9 (01:36:42):
I had to learn from being seventh quarterback on the
depth chart to moving up to third to ultimately being
a starter.
Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
I had to learn all those things in college. That
was development.
Speaker 9 (01:36:52):
Then I went to New England and I was developed
by coach Belichick and the offensive staff there. I didn't
start my first year. I think it's just a tragedy
that we're forcing these rookies to play early. But the
reality is the only reason why that is because we
dumb the game down, which has allowed them to play.
Speaker 3 (01:37:08):
It used to be thought of at a higher level.
Speaker 9 (01:37:10):
We used to spend hours and hours in the offseason
in training camp trying to be a little bit better
than next year. But I think what happens is discourages
the coaches from going to deep levels because they realize
the players don't have the opportunity to go to a
deep level, so they're just gonna teach them where they're at.
Speaker 1 (01:37:24):
Okay, do you say tragedy over here, Jeff?
Speaker 5 (01:37:28):
With rookie starting, because we're set to see Caleb with
the Bears, Jaydon Daniels with Washington, We'll see bo Nicks
shout out to the Ducks over there with the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
Do we have a tragedy on our hands?
Speaker 4 (01:37:40):
It's a tragedy if some of these young guys come
and play well right away. I don't know, Like CJ. Stroud,
imagine if you waited a year, I mean you would
you'd feel dumb, right, I Mean the thing about it
is that, yeah, you would love for young players in
those positions to have a little bit of time and
not play right away. But I think a couple of
things that you're one is that quarterback, wide receivers, tight ends,
(01:38:03):
they're more ready now to come into league than ever
before because they start so young. The seven on seven camps,
Brian right, these sort of understanding schemes, protections. They play
younger in college now, right that you know, back in
the day, you almost surely everyone red shirted in their
freshman season, that he had to be the best player
on the team to not red shirt your freshman season.
(01:38:25):
Now guys play almost immediately. They're more equipped to come
into a passing league now than ever before. So yeah,
I think there are certain instances when you would love
for guys to sit and learn and grow and all
those things and all those platitudes about like becoming better.
But the fact is is that they're more ready than
ever And.
Speaker 3 (01:38:44):
You know he is.
Speaker 4 (01:38:46):
Let's use Bryce Young for example, because he didn't play
well last season. There's many reasons why he didn't play well.
One might be the coaching staff. Okay, would he play
any better this year if he had n't played all
last year? So I think it's the same. I think
it's the same, and sometimes going through the growing pains
and the losing helps you on the other side of
(01:39:09):
knowing what not to do. How does it look when
it's bad? Vereaus, how does it look or feel when
it's good.
Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
That's a good take you have you have there, Jeff.
You know, I was kind of leaning to the other side,
Like I said, it is a good tape, you know take.
I would kind of agree with Brady here though it
makes it You almost think it makes the product worse
when you're forcing these rookies into starting day one, because
there's obviously a learning curve night and the niney percent
of them will have their struggles. There's however, on the
(01:39:38):
other side of that is there are a few college
quarterbacks who could step right in and not skip a beat.
Look at last year with Chris Stroud. It's definitely better
for a quarterback. I would think to be groomed before
throwing them out there into the fire like Brady or
maybe even Rogers did. But the pressure is on the franchisees.
I get it. If you don't draft the quarterback first
round today, you know, and you don't start him in
(01:40:01):
game one like you know, you have so much media
and internal and everyone lots of pressure on you, you know,
so out of that group, though, I guess I like
bow Nix. He seems to be a good kid, good
head on his shoulders, and which I think is important
for NFL quarterbacks.
Speaker 5 (01:40:16):
I think there's something too that where listen, sometimes you
take your lumps early, but it pays off in the
long run, where there are a couple of legendary quarterbacks.
John Elway started off horribly and we saw what he became.
Peyton Manning through a ton of interceptions, he threw almost
thirty picks his rookie season, and you could argue that
(01:40:37):
it helped his development instead of sitting and watching. So
I think the other thing is there's got to be
a quarterback or two out there that were high draft picks,
sat a year or two and then didn't turn into anything.
Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:40:51):
It seems like because they sat, or just because well not.
Speaker 5 (01:40:55):
Because they sat, but just as an example where we
tend to point to it, like for Brady making this
argument or anybody like that, they would point to, Hey,
look at Aaron Rodgers sitting helped him, Or look at
Jordan Love sitting helped his development. There's got to be
an example of a higher draft pick who sat for
a little while and then just never panned out, you
know what I mean, Like it's all.
Speaker 4 (01:41:17):
Over the place, I would imagine. I mean, we just
talked about Cherry Lance.
Speaker 5 (01:41:20):
Yeah, well is somethinda sort of Yeah, it was more
like an injury thing. But still he didn't get a
lot of a lot of time back there his first
couple of seasons at all.
Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
So yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:41:31):
It Also the other thing about it is that is
that like you have a situation where now, if you
don't win immediately, then all of a sudden, you know,
you get you get fired. As a coach, you have
(01:41:52):
to you have to have to come in and you
immediately have to be good otherwise you're gone. Like that's
there's a rush to play these guys for that reason
as well, you have to show early on that you
that you as a coach can get that young quarterback
up to speed as soon as possible.
Speaker 7 (01:42:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:42:07):
I know.
Speaker 5 (01:42:07):
And it's funny too, right because we we act like
the there there's no rookie wage scale, you know what
I mean? Where I guess that probably turns that I
should say that differently because there is a rookie wage
scale and you're not paying these guys. Remember, like Sam
Bradford is making huge money, Matthew Stafford's making huge money
(01:42:30):
before they take an NFL stread and so the money
is not the same, it's not as great. So if
you're not productive real quickly, they're just gonna pivot and
move on.
Speaker 1 (01:42:41):
Like look at the Broncos.
Speaker 5 (01:42:42):
The Broncos there is a different example, but they owed
Russell Wilson a lot of money.
Speaker 1 (01:42:49):
And they're just like that, We're just gonna pivot. We'll
figure it out.
Speaker 5 (01:42:52):
Okay, we'll take the cost. You know, we don't know
who we're gonna go with. We'll figure it out on
the fly. And now they have bo Nicks. It is
pretty crazy. If you don't produce, they're gonna move on.
It's not like Zach Wilson got seasons in seasons. I'm
not saying he'd ever pan out, but they're like, oh gosh,
this isn't the guy.
Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
Move on?
Speaker 5 (01:43:11):
And that's the way life is in the NFL. Hey,
there's someone who're not gonna move away from there's no
reason to. That's Isaac Loewen Prawn, who is just he's
a beast, actually is what he is?
Speaker 1 (01:43:22):
With the updates over in here, I low, what's going on, buddy?
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (01:43:26):
Yes, the content factory that is the NFL never fails
to disappoint. And it's just a random Sunday morning during
the preseason. Plenty going on, as multiple outlets report the
Miami Dolphins releasing quarterback Mike White. That means that Skyler
Thompson will be serving as the backup for two A
tongue of Iloa. ESPN reported this morning the Los Angeles
(01:43:46):
Rams have granted starting linebacker Ernest Jones permission to seek
a trade. Jones was the Rams leading tackler last season,
leading tackler by a wide margin. The final year of
his contract is here. In twenty twenty four, NFL media
reporting the Jacksonville Jaguars released receiver Denzel Mims. We've got
one Major League baseball game going on right now. The
(01:44:07):
Washington Nationals have a one nothing lead at Atlanta over
the Braves in the top half of the second inning.
And finally, elsewhere in the world of baseball and sports collectibles,
the jersey that was worn by Babe Ruth when he
hit his legendary called shot home run in the nineteen
(01:44:28):
thirty two World Series against the Cubs at Wrigley Field
has been sold at auction for a sports collectible record
of twenty four point.
Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
One million dollars.
Speaker 10 (01:44:40):
The previous record was for a nineteen fifty two Mickey mantlecard,
which sold two years ago for twelve point six million dollars.
A sports collectible expert saying, and I quote, this is
essentially the Mona Lisa. It's a very mythical moment that
crosses over into American and pop culture history. This is
(01:45:04):
a great conversation starter as opposed to, you know, buying
more IBM stock or investing in real estate.
Speaker 4 (01:45:14):
Unquote.
Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
Good thing.
Speaker 10 (01:45:15):
There's somebody out there who can afford twenty four point
two million dollars in order to start a conversation back
to you, guys, maybe that person won the Progressive jackpot
right again? Oh hang on here, Rich Hornberger coming up
at the top of the hour with Steve Hartman. He
has just walked into the studio wearing a vintage New
(01:45:38):
York Yankees jersey.
Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
I'm sure he'll have wow that at.
Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
The top of the hour.
Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
Back to you, all right, I should have known it
was Hornberger right there.
Speaker 5 (01:45:46):
It is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown to Kickoff, presented by

(01:46:07):
had to grab this audio for you guys, thought of
you in particular, Jeff, because the Olympics will roll around
in four years here, Summer Olympics in LA and so
flag football is going to be part of the next Olympics.
Speaker 1 (01:46:24):
And this is just you can't invent this type of stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:46:27):
Where the questions are now, hey, are there going to
be NFL players representing the United States in flag football
when the Olympics roll around again. So this is Darryl Duche.
He is a flag football player. He's thirty five years old.
He's a quarterback. He's five foot six, one hundred and
(01:46:48):
forty pounds. Okay, and he was on TMZ Sports comparing
himself to Patrick Mahomes. Okay, because we're thinking about the
Olympics in four years. Daryl wants to be the cube,
all right, he wants to be behind center. Here's what
he had to say.
Speaker 11 (01:47:03):
I feel like I'm done than Patrick Mahomes because of
my IQ of the game. I know he's right now
the best in the league. I know he's more accurate,
I know he has all these intangibles. But when it
comes to flag football, I feel like I know more
than him.
Speaker 1 (01:47:17):
Okay, wow, Okay, I.
Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
Mean that's that's absolutely insanity at its finest.
Speaker 4 (01:47:24):
Let's sort of like parse this out quickly. So he's
talking about himself as a flag football quarterback, and I
understand that he thinks he's one of the best. He
may be. He may be. And if you were taking
Pat Mahomes today and drop him into a fuck football game,
who would be the better quarterback? Maybe the other guy,
(01:47:45):
what's his name, Darryl?
Speaker 3 (01:47:47):
Do sh Daryl?
Speaker 4 (01:47:49):
Maybe Darryl's better at the start of a game. But
like I think, if you gave Mahomes, I don't know,
a week of practice a flag football, he's gonna better
than you. He's also not gonna play in the Olympics. Okay,
Like I think that that's a fear that some of
the flag football Olympians have. I will tell you this, guys,
(01:48:11):
America is not sending a flag football team that is
losing to anyone in the in the world that week
of the Olympics. I promise you They're not sending a
team of amateurs they cannot win a championship. This is
our sport. We're not losing in our sport to the
(01:48:32):
rest of the world in a flag football competition. It's
not going to happen. So look, is Tyreek Hill at
age thirty four going to play in the Olympics. I
don't know, Probably not, But like is c d. Stroud
at twenty seven gonna do it? I don't know, probably like.
And you're not gonna have a job, And I understand
it's a bummer, man, I I lost a job recently.
It stinks. It's not fun. But if someone's better than you,
(01:48:56):
then sorry, that's the way life works.
Speaker 3 (01:49:00):
We're gonna get the better. The look aheadline I mean
here at bet MGM, the USA minus seven to one
is going to be the look aheadline, all right.
Speaker 4 (01:49:15):
Give it to me.
Speaker 3 (01:49:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:49:17):
I just love that audio so much.
Speaker 5 (01:49:19):
I swear that's that's the thinking of so many athletes
that didn't make it in the pros where it's like,
you know, I, I think I could rush for at
least thirty yards if you give me little time get
behind an NFL line, Like.
Speaker 4 (01:49:35):
Guys NFL running backs sometimes have a hard time watching
for thirty yards.
Speaker 5 (01:49:39):
No, oh, man, if you give me the Eagles line,
I mean, that's arguably the best line in football. I
feel like, look at the size of that hole. I
could have ran through that hole. Come on, man, that's
what that sound bite sounds like to me. And granted,
there might be some nuances with flag football, but to
your point, Jeff, it's not as if homes couldn't pick
(01:50:00):
that up. I just think, listen, the NFL, as much
as they're putting into flag football, they're gonna have some
NFL stars on that team when the Olympics roll around again.
It's just brand building, correct.
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
And again we're not losing. Like, can you imagine if
the if the USA he said, the fuck football team
gets bronze? Oh gosh, just like when like the basketball
team you get bronze, it's like a it's a national
story for four years. These bums got bronze. No way,
it's not gonna happen. So they're gonna say again, it's
not gonna get Mahomes is not Look, it's a summer.
(01:50:37):
You gotta find a coach that's gonna basically be okay
with you go and play fuck football for a month.
And the Olympics it's in Los Angeles. I guess those
not overseas. My my son I think wants to go
to some of the Olympics in Los Angeles. They announced
that you can't drift any events. You can only take
public transportation. I think, at least so far, they announced
that it's just gonna be so spread out. I don't
(01:50:59):
know if I want ago, I can't. I can't determine
that yet.
Speaker 3 (01:51:01):
You know, you got to bring I mean, that's a
once in a lifetime for your kids though.
Speaker 1 (01:51:05):
Yeah, but that would be four years though.
Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
Yeah, but I mean are are Yeah, yeah, yeah, you
gotta go.
Speaker 5 (01:51:13):
We uh, we have a special treat this morning. We
have updated audio from our guy Darryl Ducet.
Speaker 1 (01:51:21):
Huh.
Speaker 5 (01:51:21):
Here's the latest that he has to say about flag football, mahomes,
all that sort of thing.
Speaker 4 (01:51:26):
How much you want to make a bet I can
throw a football.
Speaker 3 (01:51:28):
Over the mountains.
Speaker 4 (01:51:33):
But here's the problem with with two. When you make
these statements is then the internet goes and finds everything
you've done, and my man does not have the cleanest
throwing motion. He got and he got he got. He
kind of got torch for his, uh, his throwing mechanics
there as well. So that's what happens, man, when you
(01:51:54):
when when you you know, you make a comment. He
could have said again, he could have made it so
much better, right, Like, I know Mahomes the best in
the world, but I think I'm really good at fog football,
like it's a different sport. Yeah, could Mahomes be good eventually, maybe,
but right now I'm the best football quarterback that you
know our country hats like something like that. But yeah,
said he said he's better than Patrick Mahomes. So he
(01:52:14):
also didn't say he was better. He questioned, like, yeah,
I mean you're like, I feel like Mahomes can figure
out how to call plays in flag football, be okay
doing that.
Speaker 5 (01:52:26):
He's like he doesn't know what it's like to be
rushed by one guy, you know, I know the Mahomes Like, okay, man, cool.
Speaker 4 (01:52:33):
Well, Mahomes answered the tweet you saw that he yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:52:36):
The fifty Yeah yeah, kind of like what run that
by me again?
Speaker 5 (01:52:42):
All right, We've got Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran,
Bill Krackenberger from Crackwings dot com sports andandicapper.
Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
I'm Brian know all right?
Speaker 5 (01:52:50):
Coming up next, we got some picks to make rapid
fire crack Wi have a play of the day, all
that good stuff coming up. It's Fox Sports Radios Campdown

your way in just less than ten minutes. All right,
we got some picks to make. Let's dive in.
Speaker 4 (01:53:44):
Rapid fire.
Speaker 1 (01:53:46):
All right, crack, We'll start with you, man, what are
you thinking today?
Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
Guys, I gotta tell you, I'm all over this Tennessee
Titan team. So I am gonna stick with that. Let's
go with Tennessee Titans. Listen and BETMGM first quarter minus
one ninety they actually went down. I actually laid more
than that. So I'm still gonna stick with my Tennessee
Titans here in this segment.
Speaker 4 (01:54:09):
Okay, As I mentioned, I have my my Tigers run
line against the White Sox. I also have the who's
the Cubs, who comes Marlins? I think it's Cubs, it
comes Marlins. Whoever's playing the Marlins? I have I wag
against the Marlins every night every day too. I think
they have to cover the run the run line in
(01:54:29):
like seven of eight games, so I have that as yes, Cups,
I forgot Cubs Cubs run line against the Marlins two.
I also, by the way, like on on Thursday, I
believe it's Minnesota North Carolina. I like Minnesota minus two.
In that game, North Carolina loses a lot, including their quarterback,
and they gotta replace a lot and they're on the
road in Week one. I like Minnesota minus two in
(01:54:51):
that game.
Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
Okay, crack, you might have to close your ears for
a second.
Speaker 7 (01:54:55):
Here.
Speaker 1 (01:54:56):
I'm gonna go with the parlay.
Speaker 5 (01:54:57):
Okay, it's kind of like you know, I don't go
with lock, right, you don't go with parlay the L
word or the P word. But hear me out on
this one. I'm on your Titans. We're going first half
money line. There's a lot of juice, but I want
to couple it with get this Trey Turner of the Phillies. Okay,
against Seth Lugo, he's hitting under two hundred career wise,
(01:55:22):
he's four for twenty one.
Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
That's a one ninety one average.
Speaker 5 (01:55:25):
Trey Turner had three hits yesterday against the Royals, and
so his hit line on BETMGM is one and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:55:35):
I'm taking the under.
Speaker 5 (01:55:36):
He's been hitless in the four previous games, and he's
been terrible against Seth Lugo. So I'm gonna go Titans
first half. Trey Turner under one and a half hits,
and that gives you a plus payout.
Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
It's plus one nineteen on bet MGM. It's what you're
going with, right there. Iin think crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
I didn't give you a nine layer with crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:55:58):
Yeah, so I I think that could that could be
advantageous for us. We got Crack with the play of
the day.
Speaker 1 (01:56:05):
Let's do this.
Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
This is the best play of the day.
Speaker 3 (01:56:12):
Man, all right, Crack, what are you thinking? Bud Well,
I'm gonna stick with a couple of things here. I'm
gonna go Tennessee. Also, I'm gonna give you a parlay,
which is unusual. I'm gonna give you a first half
money line parlay Tennessee which is minus around two fifty
with New England first half. Both of those based on
starters versus non starters. Parlay Tennessee New England money line.
(01:56:35):
I usually don't do that during the regular season. I
think preseason we could do that.
Speaker 1 (01:56:39):
Great minds, crack.
Speaker 5 (01:56:40):
I already entered that one in I feel gright about myself.
Speaker 1 (01:56:43):
Goodness, all right, yeah, yeah, I like that.
Speaker 4 (01:56:46):
Oh I'm gonna do that right now. There we go.
I tell you, guys, wag in North Carolina like is Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
That was that was one of the ones I think
I told you guys. I think yesterday or was it,
I don't know, But you know, when when you when
you know the who's starting, who's not who's gonna play harder.
It's it's not a bad idea instead of laying now.
Granted I did lay the money line also when it
was lower though, before I released it on air and
gave it to everybody and it moved from three and
a half to five and a half. But the money
(01:57:12):
line was probably a good idea then to parlay it.
But it's okay to still parlay the money lines. Which listen.
I am not one to tell anyone I'm against that
the sportsbooks make twenty five to thirty percent of their
money on parlays. That's their profit. But situationally, because it's
preseason and because of the circumstances and the factors here,
(01:57:36):
I feel you can do it in this situation. But
lots of action on a preseason Sunday. Boys, what are
we gonna do next week? Man?
Speaker 1 (01:57:45):
I feel like you might coach football.
Speaker 3 (01:57:47):
Yeah, well we're Sunday though, so there'll be something. It's
probably a couple of games.
Speaker 1 (01:57:53):
Right, I feel like you might talk about week one, you'll.
Speaker 3 (01:57:56):
Talk about some week. I ain't game here that that's
here in Vegas, right, Yes, that's like you know, you
know how hard it is to get tickets to that game.
I mean, of course I can get them, but you
just pay. You're a sucker. I'm a sucker. I'm just
an idiot. I'll just pay. I pay five undred each
for a seat. That's you know, thirty nine dollars. I mean, uh,
but I mean that's that game here us c LSU
(01:58:18):
got to be out of control here in Vegas, so
that that'll be something to talk about next next week.
Speaker 1 (01:58:22):
Are you heading to that one, crack, you're gonna be there?
Speaker 3 (01:58:25):
No, no interest. I get Raiders tickets to all the games.
I don't even go. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:58:30):
Are we going to meet up for a Raiders game
at some point this season? That's yeah. Stadiums I heard there, crack.
Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
I heard, I heard rumor that that may happen, So
we'll see. Okay, that'd be great.
Speaker 4 (01:58:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:58:40):
I got to check off a couple of NFL stadiums.
I gotta get to Houston, got to get to Jacksonville.
Speaker 3 (01:58:46):
Great stadium. It's a great stadium.
Speaker 5 (01:58:48):
Which one. Oh oh here Vegas? Yeah, Vegas really cool.
It looks really nice. I saw Mike Haynes there for
the last Raiders game, right like he was sitting in
the like the VIP like the lounge seats or whatever
that are right there by the field. Very cool stuff,
all right, guys. Hope you guys enjoy your Sunday. It's
(01:59:08):
our last chance to get down on preseason betting action.
We highly encourage it.
Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
We'll catch you soon.
