Speaker 3 (00:25):
We had two well one major upsets so far and
one top ten matchup this weekend. I think the only
thing that was upsetting about that in terms of everything
was me and you watching Michigan get pushed around at
the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Where do you want to start?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Do you want to start with Michigan and Texas or
do you want to start with Notre Dame and northern Illinois.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Before that, let me started saying hello to everybody out
there and radio listening land Man, Fox Sports Radio, Martin
and vij glad to be here as always as far
as where I want to start. Sent the text message
that was bothersome to me to us earlier about our
rundown today where he actually thought to even say to us,
(01:09):
if you and Martin want to avoid Michigan in Texas
as if we can't take ls now. I know we've
been dominant in college football the last three years, especially
going undefeated and winning the national championship. Wrong SoundBite, winning
the national championship last year, and everybody today that Martin
was the day that everybody that's not a Michigan fan
(01:32):
are doesn't like harball with sitting and baited breath waiting
for Michigan to lo.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Look what it looks like what Connor exactly?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Well, but guess what what it looks like without Connor
Stallions is going up to Penn State whooping that ass,
and then going to Maryland and whooping that ass, and
then going to Ohio State beating them to three years
in a row, and then winning the national championship game,
beating Nick Sabant, beating in Washington. That's what it looks
like without Connor Stallions. We have their team players that
are suiting up tomorrow in the NFL that were drafted
(02:03):
last year. Okay, there's a lot of talent left that
it's not the takeaway from Texas Texas looked pretty damn
good today. They have a legitimate quarterback. It looks like Sark,
Mike get the Monkey office back. They got a good team,
They got a veteran offensive line, and Joe Klatt said
something that was almost perfectly said. He said, this reminds
me of what Michigan looked like last year. They have
(02:27):
all veteran, big offensive linemen that are gonna get drafted.
They have a veteran NFL caliber quarterback, they have NFL
caliber running back, they have skill position players and have
a really good defense. And it got a really great coach.
So it looks like what Michigan looked like last year.
Michigan wasn't favored to win the game today. Some things
I saw though, And the one thing I'll point out
(02:47):
to is the quarterback position.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Martin.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
I'm thoroughly upset not a just Sheron More, but at
alex Orgy. Alex Orgie is a kid that I followed
in high school, and when we signed him, I was
excited about him because he's so big six four six
five thirty five two forty and I'm like, man, did
we just find not Cam Newton but a Cam Newton
type of player that you can get behind?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Right?
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Well, those measurements you're looking at, and these are the
top of the tops. But you like that Cam Newton,
Josh Allen, you know what I'm saying those Anthony Richardson,
She's big, hulking linebacker, Quarterballan Milrow, right, that looks like
a lineback. He looks like a linebacker, but he plays
quarterback and even today running the ball, bad decision making
(03:27):
on the RPOs, running into defenders, not finding a hole,
just thinking he can lower his shoulder and just run through.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
This is Texas, homeboy. They got NFL guys. They got
what we call dudes.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
In this business and when you're in the football world,
they got guys.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Okay, this isn't what.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
This isn't Wisconsin, this isn't Minnesota, this isn't Indiana, this
isn't Illinois. This was a national contender, the number third
rate team in the nation coming in today, and Michigan
has quarterback problems. That's not gonna change all year long
because neither one of these guys are gonna get any better.
Michigan would be looking at two maybe three losses after
what I saw today and last week. That's where I
(04:04):
would go with it with Michigan. But hats off to
Texas man. Good winning your favorite. You went in there,
you whooped. That's like you're supposed to do when you
got opponent down. They kicked them and kicked them and
kicked them. It's something Michigan to get up and they
didn't today. And I can eat that as a fan.
So congrats to Texas. But Michigan's got quarterback issues.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
So here's the thing, Michigan didn't You know, Michigan lost
Connor Stalles.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
That's why they lost.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
They also graduated eighteen seniors, right, and eighteen seniors who
were making plays Mikey Sanders, Drull, JJ McCarthy, Blake corm right, Glasgow,
this offensive Lineman right like these like that.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
That's why part of the.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Reason why last year quote unquote was the last dance
because everybody was graduating.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
It was leaving that whole that that class was graduating.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
But I will say this, and I think it's more
of an indictment on Jim Harball than it is on
Sharon Moore, even though Sharon Moore is the one dealing
with it.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Oh, I think I might know where you're going to
go ahead.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
In the era of the transfer portal, there's no excuse
to not have a quarterback there's no excuse to not
have a quarter I agree with that. There's one thing.
It's one thing. If you went out and you tried
and it didn't work out. Riley Leonard, I thought he
would be I think he's a really good college quarterback.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
He played terrible today for terrible for not to name.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
But you know what, you can't say that, No to
Dame didn't try to do improve the quarterback position. Right
the year before that, Notre Dame, Sam Hartman, Right, Okay,
look at the teams football playoff last year. Michael Pennix transfer,
quinn Ewers transfer, right.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Hi Trophy winner? How about him? Right?
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Transfer? So late, guys, the transfer quarterback thing is working.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Right?
Speaker 3 (05:42):
What are we doing here where you're gonna go ahead
and start a fifth year walk on?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
All due respect? Now, he's not good, but let's be honest,
he's not good.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
There's a reason why in the first five years he
didn't get any playing time. And why you know, coming
out of high school you had to walk on somewhere. Right,
This is not a Baker may Field story, right, or
you know the Orgy kid?
Speaker 2 (06:03):
How bad can it throw?
Speaker 5 (06:04):
And be?
Speaker 2 (06:05):
How bad can it be?
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Why hasn't gotten better, is my question. That's the part
I'm upset about this. Why argue you bet?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
I remember Denard Robinson winning games at Michigan throwing armed punts. Yes,
if you have to quarterbacks that aren't good, and one
of them is six and they're both like six three
six four two twenty, but one of them runs like
a running back and the other one doesn't you play
(06:32):
the one that runs. Now, on the Texas side of things,
this is a team like Michigan. This is a team
like Michigan's, like TCU last year. They've lost a ton
of people, lost a ton of talent. But Texas walked
into ann Arbor and beaten Michigan the way that Michigan
had been you said it, the way that Michigan had
been beating people up front.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
The demoralization from moving grown men against their will is
why Texas won that game.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Quinn Ewers wasn't spectacular. No, No, he played good. He
wasn't he want spectacleic like well.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
You know, let's say, hypothetically speaking, he's there in New
York at the end of this for the Heisman ceremony.
There will be no highlights from this game, right, there
will be no highlights from this game in that highlight package,
but the way that Michigan got pushed around up front
and the way that Michigan was on disciplined a lot
of these penalties that lived. That gave me a big
(07:24):
cause for concern on the week by week, day by
day planning in preparation for this team. But Texas, I
think this is might be the best Texas team that
we have seen since Vincio.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
They could not I'm with you there since vy And
they mentioned that today one forty three to eighty was
the rushing today and that just doesn't happen to Michigan.
When it happens to Michigan, this is when you know, Okay,
they don't, they don't. There's some something's there's something's a myth.
And the defense today just seemed like they were in position,
but not in position like you can see a guy
(07:54):
in a win.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, no, they did.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
They did play well enough to win, but we also
had there were also a few drives where third down
they completed I think seven of their first eight third
downs eight for their first ten. You as a defense,
that's on you, whether you have a quarterback or not.
Your stat of third down defensive percentage is on you.
That's got nothing to do with the offense. That's got
(08:17):
nothing to do with the quarterback. And they converted eight
of their first ten. That's on you. And then also
something else Michigan's been doing lately. I would like to
see them change. We've been able to rotate guys. There's
been a rule if you guys don't know, Michigan was
not playing their defensive lineman more than twenty five to
twenty seven plays a game that included Aiden Hutchinson.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Guys.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
They were rotating guys in because they had so many guys.
They don't have that now. And when I'm watching Grant
and Graham go off the field and now you're playing
guys that they've got some playing time. But so did
Grant and Graham when they start first getting playing time.
But you see what they've developed into. There's not a
kid backing those two guys up that's gonna turn into
those two guys. So when you take those two guys
(08:57):
off the field in a game like today and you
were getting in Sark season, he's a great offensive mine.
He starts running right at where you just put the
fresh guys in that don't have the experience. They need
to change the philosophy and go to both those guys
and say, hey, look for our defense to hold up
the way it needs to. We have to kind of
abandon that whole play rule for YouTube YouTube as long
(09:18):
as unless you need water, you need to breather cool.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
But for the most part.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
I need you in the A gap, I need you
in the B gap, and we'll just flip your guys
from the A and to B gap. But we have
to fix this and stop teams that think that they
can run on this. But once again, they weren't favored
to win today. So Texas did what they were supposed
to do. You have an opponent you're supposed to beat,
Go beat them and don't make no damn apologies about it,
and tell them about it while you're doing it. That
(09:44):
doesn't offend me as a fan. Hey, we took an
l to day. It's all good, but there are some issues.
I think they need to fix last one too. I
just he's not the ball carrier I'm used to seeing
at Michigan. I come from a long line of watching
Michigan running backs Donovan Edwards just seeing he fit perfectly
as a backup I just can't see.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Him well as an RB one.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
He told too much and he dances and he dances
with hit the hole.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
But when you're the starter, you can't. You know, they're
overtaken it the thing, whatevers, they say.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
The biggest complaint that they have with Donovan Thatwards just
that he does it setting up, taking enough time to
set up his blocks. But ultimately, when your quarterback can't
complete a five yard pass.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
You gotta run. Man.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Well, not only you have to run, but I have
trouble blaming the running back, you know what I'm saying,
Like I have trouble blaming the running because it's not
open there. There's literally there's there's eleven guys in the
box when you play Michigan right now. There's eleven guys
in the box when you play Michigan right now. And
think about last week. If Will Johns didn't pick six,
that ball would have been a one score game Fresno
(10:47):
State last week.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
You know what I was.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
I didn't feel last week. I was like, hold on
bro and Fresno State nine nine, ten wins. Okay, they're
they're they're not They're not you know it not nor.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Speaking of Norn, let's touch on that real quick. Another
loss for Marcus Freeman. There's the sick part. Congratulations on you,
Sikos one of the twelfth team playoff. Guess what I'm
here to tell you right here, right now. Notre Dame
goes undefeated the rest of the season, they'll be in
the twelfth team playoff.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
With the lost in Northern Illinois.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah, I just thought today was just a microcosm of
what Nordon Dame has been recently. If you even go
back and look at that game last week, they Texas
A and M pretty much handed them that game. They
could be zero to two right now, but to lose
it home to Northern Illinois and have your quarterback turn
the ball over and they drive right down the first
drive of the game.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Boom boom, boom boom.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Touchdown, and it feels like, okay, here's they got the
big win in College Station and now they're home opening
home game. Yeah, they might walk through this, but the
more you're watching this game, it's like, wow, they're not
winning really up front, and wow, the running back broke
a wrong run on them and their long run running
back hurdle the guy to go score their touchdown and
that's been pretty much the offense.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
But once again, quarterback play.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
If you do not have a quarterback, you have zero
shot and a competent quarterback and one can't throw two
picks home game. I feel sorry honestly for Freeman because
I do believe they're gonna end up firing them.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah, they're gonna end up firing up.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
This year is a making a breaking yeah exactly, And
obviously this is not the way to start. They making
to break it year. But like I said, I fully
believe they go undefeated for US away. They're in the plug.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
No, yeah, they'll be in the plub. But you know,
depends on how far they fall out right now, because
that that's big to lose the Northern Illinois home. They
can fall out of the top twenty. But then I
don't think that. I don't think they climb back, even
if they win the rest of their games, I don't
think they climb back to twelve.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Look at that schedule. I got a feeling plus two.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
If there's anything I've known about big time college football,
it's that they always make sure that they're both to
survey tea makes it's advancing into the postseason, not the
ones get the most numbers and not the one that
will the most right, got rooty in there all right?
Coming up next, we'll keep an eye on everything in
college football, of course, as Ohio State scores another touchdown
(12:53):
quinch Seawn Judkins. They are now handling Western Michigan in
the first quarter twenty to six. There Uhra Esca handling
Colorado earlsh Dors Sanders had a pick six deep.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
In his own territory.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Ilanroyola is out there rolling and spinning and throwing this
thing all over the yard. We will keep you up

But you sorry, bro, listen to the whole segment next.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
So it's gonna be hard not to talk about the
one matchup in college football thus far that had two
top ten right teams.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Right, that's been another one.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
I don't believe since we've gotten started, there's no he
likes right, what Ohio State exactly. Yeah, yeah, come on, man,
you know what may mag nobody's perfect.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
We're trying not the whole.
Speaker 9 (15:50):
People, bro, you like Ohio State, just go over there.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
You're trying not to hold people's worst faults against them, exactly,
you know.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Speaking of all right, so ja, let's go ahead and
dive into the NFL.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Yes, right now the NFC, I feel like the best
quarterback and best team is just kind of just up
for grabs right now. And I think that right now
the Detroit Lions have an opportunity to go ahead and
grab it. The Rams come to town? Was that Sunday
night football? Rams Lions? Matthew Stafford back in Detroit, Jared Golf.
This is a playoff matchup last year in the wildcard round,
(16:25):
same place. We'll see if the Lions would like to
have the same result as they would head and beat
that Rams team. What do you think happens tomorrow? And
also what do you think would be a successful season
for the Lions who are dealing with something that they've
never really dealt with before, and that's expectations.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
I'll start with the Lions as far as their expectations
and what would be a successful season. I think you
got to get back to the conference championship game because
that's where you were, and you were up, like you
were on the cusp a going to the Super Bowl
to play for Lombardi Trophy, and you play for the
Detroit Lions.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
That was monumental.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
It can't go backwards because then people will say last
year was a fluke. So like they get say the
good at wad Cart and lose a wildcard game at home,
We'll never look back on the twenty three season like
it was real.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
We'll be like, yeah, they got lucky. They they didn't
have injuries. All their main guys were healthy most of
the year. The division sucked, the Fair sucked, the Vikers
run the five hundred.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
They didn't have Justin Jefferson for eight weeks.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Kirk Cousins bloout his achilles, he was done by week four,
Week five. They got lucky that year. That will be
the narrative. So I think they got to get back
to the conference championship. As far as tomorrow's game go,
I'm really excited for this game because you just don't
know what you're gonna get opening weekend, because preseason doesn't
mean anything anymore, so you can't take nothing from preseason,
which I've learned from Martin and I've learned from Steve
(17:44):
the Seger. Just leave preseason alone. Don't even really I mean,
watch a little bit, but don't put too much time
into don't be vj the last twenty years of my life.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Okay, you could watch it, but just know, Yeah, but
all that got fun.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Yeah, I was that guy watching like full games, watching
every game on my DVR. And I realize how much
time I wasted doing that, trying to find that Dimon
in the rough that I can be the guy to
talk about in November when nobody else knows who he was.
And I saw this one certain pieces of the game. Anyway,
I don't need that anymore. But I do think the
Rams show up, man, I think the Rams show up.
They had a lot of great players, Cooper Cup. Remember
(18:17):
coming back from an acl an achilles You could get
back in the year, Martin, but it really does take
two years for your body to get all the way
back because you're always h what's the word compensating for
the injury, so you can you have some nagging things
on the left side if you tore the right achilles
and things of that nature. So but he will be
fully bad Pook and the coup. Matt Stafford, I think
(18:38):
his career is coming down that this. I think he
might look at this is this could be like my
last real season of having a shot.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
Before contracts, people's got to start getting paid and people
start leaving things of that nature. So I look for
them to show up. Man, and one of these teams
of God went on the road right. We thought the
Ravens had it the other night they were toe short.
I guess Philly was the home team last night, but
it felt like a Packer home game for some odd
strange reason.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
But I think I think the Rams go in here,
man and and take this.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
I think maybe the pressure is more on Detroit to
come out and win a home game after getting to
the conference Championshigain.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
I think they'll be fine this year. Did they win
the division?
Speaker 4 (19:17):
I like even twelve maybe thirteen wins for them, But
I think the Rams going there and and redeem what
happened to them in a while.
Speaker 8 (19:23):
Card.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
That's part of the reason why the pressure is on
Detroit is because of what we heard the last time
we saw Detroit.
Speaker 10 (19:30):
Player and look, I told those guys this may have
been always shot. Do I think that?
Speaker 11 (19:36):
No?
Speaker 10 (19:37):
Do I believe that. However, I know how hard it
is to get here. I'm well aware, and it'll be
it's going to be twice as hard to get back
to this point next year than it was this year.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
And you know what the thing is about what Dan
Campbell said, He's absolutely right the truth. He's absolutely correct.
When you're team like the Detroit Lions, who saw success
last year that you haven't seen in years, you could
be one of two teams because like there's one of
(20:10):
two archetypes.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
One is the New Orleans Saints who.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Saw that same success in a five oh six, right,
and then from there had a eight eight to nine
year window save a few years for bounty Gate, where
they were legitimate Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Contenders for like a decade. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Or you could be like the Jacksonville Jaguars, who were
a Miles Jack fumble recovery away.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
From beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in that game in like
forty four, forty one or something that.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Were right there, and Jalen Ramsey, remember, he's like, if
we call.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
It that super Bowl and we got out win that bitch.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Right, remember that in his high pitched voice in Jacksonville,
he just got paid you. Fast forward a little while longer.
Jalen Ramsey's back hurts. Now he's shipped off of the
Los Angeles. Then you have the number one pick in
the draft and you're drafting Trevor Lawrence. Right, the Lions
have the team to me that can be the top
(21:11):
of the AFC, a NFC. The Lions have a team
to meet right now, especially with Jordan Love down for
three or four weeks or I'm sure Steve, the saga
will stay after that game in Brazil where you are
now in the driver's seat for the division and you
did not even play a game. If the Lions aren't
the ceiling for the Lions, it's super Bowl or bust
(21:33):
because not even conference championship.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Hosting a own playoff game.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Yeah, no kidding, Like right now at that time, especially
when you look at the NFC West, you gotta make
an argument Lions home field for the entire playoffs. If
that's the case, you better be down there in New
Orleans playing for the championship, not the NFC championship, the
Super Bowl championship. Let's go ahead, kick it over to
our championship player on this team, Steve the Saga.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Steve Big Day college Ball. Let's up Steve.
Speaker 12 (22:02):
Hello, gentlemen, it's another good Saturday because it's full of
college football. Let's get the games in progress. Right now
is Number four Alabama leads fourteen to six over South
Florida late in the second quarter. There's a game on
FS one right now, about thirty seconds left in the
second quarter. Illinois at home now leads Kansas thirteen to ten.
(22:22):
Number two Ohio State twenty one nothing over Western Michigan
early in the second quarter halftime. Ninth rank Missouri is
shutting out Buffalo twenty four nothing and late in the third.
Number twelve Miami up on Florida A and M thirty
nine to nine, three touchdown passes for cam Ward. Elsewhere,
it's Tennessee leading seven nothing at NC State early second quarter,
(22:44):
LSU ahead of Nicols sixteen to seven in the second
Oklahoma at home leading late first quarter against Houston seven
to three. Number twenty five Clemson leads app State mid
first quarter, fourteen to nothing. Coming up in an hour
and a half, it's Oregon hosting Boise State and Arizona
hosting Northern Arizona. The late game on Big ten Network,
(23:04):
it'll be number thirteen USC hosting Utah State, because of course,
when I think USC and Utah State, I think the
Big Ten conference in college football today. Number three Texas
won easily at number ten Michigan thirty one to ten
the final, and Northern Illinois, with a field goal in
the last minute, won at number five ranked noted aime
(23:25):
sixteen fourteen wins in the top ten for Georgia Old
Miss and number eight Penn State, which beat Bowling Green
thirty four to twenty seven, victories for Utah, for Kansas State,
and in double overtime. Sixteenth ranked Oklahoma State defeated Arkansas
thirty nine thirty one. Iowa State was going nowhere in
the first half, but came back to win at number
(23:46):
twenty one Iowa twenty to nineteen. Victories for Louisville and
Syracuse Packers quarterback Jordan Love could miss three to six
weeks with the sprained mcl Love was injured in the
final seconds of last night's game. A defense tackle had
firm hold of the quarterback's left leg. Loves knee was
hit from the side with the leg planted forty nine.
Ers running back Christian McCaffrey was limited in practice again
(24:09):
due to his calf injury, but he says he'll play Monday.
The Jets, meanwhile, do not expect pass rusher Hassan Reddick
to play Monday night. He's been holding out since the
trade from Philadelphia. Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase is questionable
for tomorrow due to illness and he wants a new contract.
Bengals wide receiver t Higgins is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson is questionable with a calf injury,
(24:32):
but he did travel with the team. Wilson was limited
in practice again yesterday. Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is
questionable with a knee injury. He'll reportedly play. Hopkins said
he tore a a MCL just over a month ago.
Number two Arena Sabalanca won the US Open sweeping American
Jessica Pagoula seven five seven five. Nuggets guard Jamal Murray
(24:53):
reportedly agreed to a four year MAX extension, and the
New York Yankees are back into first place in the
Al East half game ahead of the Orioles, who lost
at home seven to one to Tampa Bay. The Yanks
were winners today two nothing at the Cubs. Houston and
the Mets each one, and the Mets have won nine
games in a row. It was a four to nothing
shut out of the Reds today. The Mets started today
(25:15):
tied with the Braves for the final NL wild cards,
but the Atlanta Braves have one of the Saturday night
games and they're getting shut out at home in Atlanta.
Blue Jays four nothing over the Braves, top of the fifth.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Back to you, Hey, Steve, I just want you to
know I did not appreciate the energy and vigor that
you used to talk about Texas versus Michigan, and then
feeling like after that you just kind of glazed over
the fact that Notre Dame, the fifth rade team in
an Asian lost to Northern Illinois.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Can we switch up the energy a bit there? Wow?
Are you reading into things?
Speaker 12 (25:47):
This has been a bad day for you.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
You did Paul's though, I felt like you said in
Stephen Paul's then waited to kind of let it.
Speaker 10 (25:56):
Deep.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Number three Michigan winning the number three Texas winning. The
Michigan pounded the Wolverine.
Speaker 12 (26:02):
Is that not accurate? I mean, I'm at a news desk.
I'm dealing with facts. They pounded Michigan. That's a fact.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
I mean, jeez, Luise correct, who shot you want stee?
That's what I like you? Hey, Steve said, is that
not what happened.
Speaker 9 (26:16):
I'm at a news desk. I'm on the side of
facts pounded.
Speaker 12 (26:23):
It was kind of like what Iowa State was getting
killed in the first half, except it was four quarters
of that.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Yeah, it's a lot of us hurt.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Everybody check on me, marn brian O, Iowa Sam, check
on us, all man.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
This has been it's been. It's been a tough there's
been a tough day. I'm cool.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Listen, the Natty ring still shines, guys. So I'm not
I'm told Mark, I said doing commercial break. Honestly, Steve,
I didn't take I see Michigan fans like falling apart.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
It's like, bro, it's one game. Texas was favored. You
could clearly see Texas is the better football team. Sure,
they're the better football team when you want and you
just put the tapewink like man, they're the better their
national title contender. Michigan is not Michigan if they don't
get the quarterback position.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Listen, you don't turn this tranic. That sounds like a
soap opera from what is this nineteen eighty seven? As
the world turns, Oh my, you're.
Speaker 9 (27:12):
Like, you're just spiraling right now because it lost?
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Is this falcon crest?
Speaker 9 (27:17):
I know Michigan lost. It's okay.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
The one good ca for them to lose this is
this is actually it's not force to lose because it
hadn't been losing.
Speaker 9 (27:25):
No dis prepared because then when Michigan State coming and
then we.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
We ruckers scratch stop the topic, right, you're you're done,
You're done, green over you here done.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
That's really got.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
The cut the mic that CC you get her out
of here, fire fire.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Let's move on to the NFL.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
All right, the Dallas Cowboys going into Cleveland. Yeah, Jay,
Obviously the Cowboys have been the topic of the off season.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
But honestly earned it. This right earned it.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
It wasn't like we were making stuff up, as it
seems as if they were just completely bungling their contract
negotiations between Cedee Lamb, Dak Prescott and Michael Parsons Vida.
Do you think those contract negotiations have any impact.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
On the result of Week one. No, no, I don't.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
I think what happens in this game tomorrow is I
missed on Dallas the last two years, and I'm not
gonna do third times to charm. I think Dallas is
gonna be a lot better than most people are predicting
Dallas to be. I hear people have Dallas not making
the playoffs. I don't know how that happens, because they
still have the guys on the roster that they.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Have last year.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
They still can be a formidable twelve and five. I
believe maybe eleven and sixteen they're going to the playoffs.
My questions were Cleveland. First of all, this is Tom
Brady's first call tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Let me ask you.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Let me ask you just quickly thirty seconds as a
football fan, Yes, are you.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Excited to see Tom Brady on the call?
Speaker 11 (28:54):
Like?
Speaker 4 (28:54):
How does that more than probably any former player that's
been announced that's going to call games now, because now
I get to hear the quarterback position in the offensive
mind through the eyes of Tom Brady. Absolutely, oh god,
I'm so excited to listen to him tomorrow. But Cleveland,
to me, has the question marks because you and I.
I'm sorry when you and I was myself and oh
(29:15):
yeah it was you and I talking about the Shawn Watson.
Everything's on him. This whole year is on Deshaun Watson
this year. One hundred percent on Deshaun Watson this year,
and he is the big question mark for them. So
that's why I think Dallas, honestly, this could be a steamroll.
Dallas could come in here that can go on fire.
He's got something to prove. He wants his contract. Ceed
(29:36):
got paid, so there's no need for him the powder
do anything. But what Ceedee Lamb does. Micah knows deal
isn't coming up yet. He's going to be a game wrecord.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Maybe Cleveland being at home matters, but it's not cold yet,
it's not monkey weather yet.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
They're still nice.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
Right after Labor Day, I think Dallas goes in here
and flexes their muscle a little bit on on on
Cleveland tomorrow. I just think they have the better weapons
to go win this football game, and they don't have
a question at the quarterback position, surprising Cleveland's favored. So
I definitely would put my money on Dallas on this game.
A just a plus too. They get two points tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Yeah, I think that the main concern that I would
have if I were to have one, is that, you know, okay,
the combination between Cede Lamb missing so much a training
camp and you know the rapport between CD and Dak.
But I mean CD led the league in receptions last year.
They have good rapport, right. Yeah. Now, offensive line is
(30:30):
a little bit of a conversation for the Cowboys. Starting
two rookies likely on the offensive line, one at center,
one at guard. That's gonna be tough, especially going against
a guy like Miles Garrett. But I do expect the
Cowboys to kind of put everything from last offseason from
this off season behind them and almost have a lance
last dance sense of things between Dak.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Prescott and the rest of the organization.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Right, you see, like we make the joke, but who
balls out the most an a for athletes and it's
you know, guys on contraction court, right the contracts?
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Am I wrong? Now you're not. Historically he's the Steve's lying.
Now he's just telling us truth. Now you're just talking
to facts. Now, hold on, I'm gonna at a new
I'm at the news day. Yeah no, but that's what it.
You know, That's kind of what I think.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
And I think Dak a year off of being one
voted the second best player of our most valuable player
in the NFL right in the throughout the regular season,
I expect him to come out and throw a party.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
Yeah, I think they. I think they put up points tomorrow.
Dallas number was scoring offense last year. Dak press out
led the league and percentage of seventy percent touchdown passes
over forty five hundred yards the last two years, like
he's a guaranteed forty five hundred yard guy. Ceedee Lamb
has been just going ballistic on secondaries. Like I said,
my main question with this game is what does the
Shawn White and I will have my eyes locked in
(31:48):
on this game tomorrow. What does d Wats look like
at the quarterback position? Because the last I would say,
seven or eight games we've seen him, he has not.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Looked good at all.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
He's looked rusty that year off, plus then got injured
in the season ending surgery. Football is not a game
you just can wake up and go play.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Guys.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
You gotta be involved, you gotta play, you gotta stretch,
you gotta go through reps. And practice after practice, before practice, film, study, play.
It's it's a year round thing, and when you don't
do it for a certain period of time, it may
never it may never come back.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
We're gonna see it real fast. It's not gonna take
long for.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
A smart football eye to watch Dallas and Cleveland tomorrow
and know whether Deshaun Watson is back or whether Deshaun
Watson has a lot of more work to do. And
if this, if it's the latter, Martin, if he's got
a lot more work to do, then I will throw
away my Cleveland prediction of them going ten and seven,
eleven and six this year.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
If Deshawn's not gonna be there.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
I mean, he won't get any healthier than he will
be tomorrow as a Cleveland Brown over the last two
seasons eight and four, six percent completions, fourteen touchdowns, nine interceptions,
and has a QBR lower in both seas and lower
than forty five. That is not gonna quite get it
done now coming up next. A lot of this is
the problem with the Internet now, especially like with the social.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Media and all of it.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
And I'm old enough still to be like to talk
about these young whipper snappers flipp me man click the
way that people are like, Oh my god, don't you
understand it.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
He's the goat nobody could ever ever ever touch.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Patrick mahomes Well, I got something to tell you. This
is absolutely factual. And if you kids just went on
YouTube for a two seconds, you would see just how
real this.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Viral moment was.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
We will get to it coming up next, Martin and
Vja Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Don't listen to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Even the goats fear some guys. Okay, Martin wis vid
their husky come into your life from the Tirack dot
Com studios, Ohio State putting a pounding on Western Michigan
right now in Nebraska, putting a pounding on Colorado as
see as you started, Steve, Oh, I'm at the news desk.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
It's got to be true.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Speaking of being true, are you young whipper snappers on
the interwebs need to understand one thing. Some of these
guys who played in eras before could still play in
eras now. Like the idea that I saw VJ for
(34:33):
my dollar, one of the best safeties we've ever seen
play this game, get be smirched and dragged across the
timeline because of what he had to say laughable at best,
horrendously terrifying at worst.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Let's hear it.
Speaker 13 (34:49):
His weaknesses. His weaknesses is his targets that he liked
to go to. From my perspective, it's not hard to
figure that out. You like to throw the ball at
certain people, So that's one of them. For me, I
would exploit that. I must say, I must stay around
that guy.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
I'm that guy.
Speaker 13 (35:06):
He's that guy, and you want to throw to him,
you gotta throw to me. You gotta throw around me too.
So you know, and that that's situational.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
You got.
Speaker 13 (35:15):
You gotta understand the situations when you playing these these games,
you know, schematically and all that.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
You know, he's looking for that guy that is Ed.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Reed Hall of Fame safety talking about what he would
do to defend Patrick Mahomes. Now everybody on the timeline
VJ is like, Yeah, sells easy, does it. Of course
that's what you should do. Well, here's the thing. Do
you know what Tom Brady, who you said to probably
do a pretty good job tomorrow with a call Dallas
(35:46):
first Cleveland. You know Tom Brady, he knows the thing
to do about playing professional football. I'd say, be very
very good at it. What's the one thing, the one guy?
Speaker 2 (35:54):
He said? You know what, before every play, I had
to know where number twenty one. I had to find Edward.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
I had to find ed Reid before every play. Why
Because Ed Reid is one of the best safeties to
ever do it. So if Ed Reid tells me that
he has a plan for what he would do against
Patrick Mahomes and maybe, just maybe his plan is I
will guard Travis Kelsey because I'm that nice.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
One on one do you know what? You know what
I'm here to say, Yeah, I think he could do it. Yeah,
I'm putting my money on Ed Reid. This is what
I hated about the flaky guy from is.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
You kind of said it doing commercial break and you
said it with the with the tea's leading to into
last commercial break. Is that we're just not allowed to
just be real about like greatness anymore. It's not to
say Patrick Mahomes is not great. It's not to say
Patrick Mahomes it's not still at in a tier by himself.
We all have flaws in life.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Your favorite radio guy, your favorite TV guy, your favorite actor,
your favorite rapper, your favorite politician, anybody you like, they
have flaws that only certain other.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
People that are as great as them can exploit.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Like I'm pretty sure Leonardo DiCaprio has some acting flaws
and I'll probably only listen to maybe, I don't know,
Denzel Washington. If someone was to say it, it would
be a guy like Denzel. I would probably make me
look and go, oh, let me go check this over here.
So what ed Reed is doing is being a bona
fide first ballot Hall of Fame safety. And as Martin said,
(37:18):
I might have him, pound for pound the greatest all
around safety in history. I mean, I know Troy's there,
Ronnie Lott would be there for me too, So it's
a short list. And he's in the conversation absolutely, and
he could just beat the conversation for as great as
he was returning balls for touchdowns too.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
But Pat Mahomes, I get what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
If you watch this guy, when you watch how many
times have we sat here Martin and go, how is
Kelsey open?
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Like?
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Why why isn't someone on eight seven? Like why you
have to explain to me is the fan watching the game?
Speaker 2 (37:50):
How is eight seven opened?
Speaker 3 (37:52):
When he pretty much runs the same two or three
routes on every single down, and for some reason, you
lose the guy in an overtime game, in the playoffs,
you lose the guy in an AFC championship at a
crucial point, you lose the guy.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
How Ed Reed is just telling y'allah, Well, if it
was me, I'm on him. If you that guy, I'm
that guy. I love the parties that. So if you
want to throw to him, you gotta throw you got oh,
I love you gotta throw to me.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
It would be like Dion picking up who's the best
corner and in the lead to that you think probably okay.
So it would be like Dion's saying, yes, sir, Tan's
got some weaknesses that you can exploit that you're gonna
exploit and uh no, it's not Did he just say
it was at.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Okay? Yeah, yeah, don't. Yeah, he's a good thing. He
plays too much with his head. Don't let grabby corner back.
He's grab called mister gravy grabs. That's mister gravy gras.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
But if you know, it's if the great players are
allowed to critique other players, guys, you know it's other
great players. It's okay, But it's Ed Reed, You guys
should probably listen to if ed Reed is telling you
someone has a weakness and it can be a exploited
Patrick Mahomes is not perfect. It's okay, guys, He's still
Pat Maholmes, still three time two BAWL champion, two time MVP.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Stant I saw a quick sidebar manfore we hit commercial.
Do you know his two MVPs the next year after
those two MVPs were Lamar Jackson. So he won it
in eighteen, Lamar run it in nine nineteen. Yeah, he
won it in twenty two, Lamar won in twenty three.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
How weird.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
I saw that stet the other and I said, wow,
that those guys are really too. That's why they're about
one two in the league. Those are the two guys
you gotta get through to get you a Lombard in
these days. But I agree with Edward right here, and
I love how.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
You said it.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Yeah, I think the NFL really needs a villain for
Patrick Mahomes at this moment, and after that, Reid is
going to be it because he shouldn't.
Speaker 4 (39:43):
I'm talks people would be the one guy can think of,
but he doesn't play, you know, he doesn't play enough
I mean.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
More of like the Manning to the Brady.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yeah, it's about time for one of these Lamar Jackson,
Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Burrows already got him.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
I would right now it's Borrow's leader.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
Because because Josh will beat him in the regular See,
he just can't beat him in the post. Yeah, I
need somebody to go ahead and being post. We need
we need some drama around this pe TNT.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
We know drama. That's what coming up next. We will
dive in these two second year quarterbacks. One an intrigue
one the Lock Martin VJ Fox Sports Radio. You don't
listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, that's right, and we're
broadcasting live from the tire iraq dot Com studio si
(40:32):
iraq dot com. We'll help you get there with an
unmatched election, fast free shipping, free with US retection, and
over ten thousand recommend to US dollars tire iraq dot
com the way tire buying should be.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
We got an AFC South matchup in week one, a
division game.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
But how do you feel about the division game in
the first game of the year. Love it?
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Why not start it right now? Put pressure on teams
in the division right now. I like front loaded division games,
and then your last two games I believe should be
division games, even if it's like your last three games
should be division games. But why not start with the
division game with at least the first two weeks?
Speaker 11 (41:12):
Right?
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Dolphins got the Bills next Thursday night for the first
Thursday night game. Why not let's get a division game
now instead of waiting until week six or seven in
and with a division But no, let's get a division
game now. Put pressure on these teams that have to
honestly play early, man, and play great early, and you know,
start off on the right foot. This game will come
back to decide probably who wins this division. It could right,
(41:33):
Oh man, what happened a week all? They got the
tiebreaker because they beat him in week one and we're
talking about this four months from now, right.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
I don't have a problem with it.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
I do think it would be kind of cool if
you had like a non conference and then conference schedule
at college sports. But ultimately it doesn't matter because whether
you win or lose it, you gotta play it. But
the big thing with this one for me is we're
seeing a guy CJ. Stroud, who, by all intents and
purposes is about it stamped as you can be for
(42:01):
a second year quarterback. Right, the Texans are trendy super Bowl.
He's the flavor of this year. Everybody likes J this year. Yeah, CJ.
Stroud was rookingt of the Year last year. Now people
are he's a trendy MVP pick. But what's honestly a
little bit more interesting to me is what are we
gonna see out of Anthony Richardson his draft mate.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
I don't know what we're gonna see out of Anthony Richards.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
My thing with Anthony was always this, he didn't play
enough college ball for me for me to think that
he was just gonna come into the league and tear
it up. And I forget what quarterback it was, but
somebody gave him some advice and told him early in
the year. I think it was after the Jacksonville game.
Someone told him, hey, listen, you're a great talent, but
stop running so much. You're gonna get hurt. He got
hurt the next week and then was out for the year,
(42:49):
Like he's gonna have to manage that. I still don't
know where he is as a passer. And in the NFL,
you can run around and do all that stuff. I
love l Jackson, but he does miss Za Flowers in
the the ends on the other night wide open, and
to make up you have to make that throw. This
is why people say you can't throw. I'll defend it,
but I can't defend that throw. I'll defend it.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
He can't throw. That's not true. He can throw.
Speaker 4 (43:12):
But I get what you mean because you're waiting for
to watch that play and there's that player right there,
that's Anthony Richardson to me, is I just want.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
To touch on that that pass.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
I think that I haven't heard anybody with the national
microphone saying because since the game was on Thursday, I
wasn't even thinking about, you know, bringing up today.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
We just brought it up.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
That's the third game in a row for Kansas City
that the opponent had an opportunity to win the game.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
And Chris Jones makes a massive fourth quarter play.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
That's the third game in a row. Game one the
AFC Championship game. He pushes Dion Dawkins back into Josh Allen.
Allen missus Dick for the touchdown. Super Bowl he's unblocked
against San Francisco, Party throws it up missus Ayuk and
the end zone and turtles into a shell.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
To avoid getting hit. Also Miss Diva. There was yeah
to that game, but I'm talking about I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
With three minutes left and you know, like end of game,
game winning plays that don't show up on the status.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
He didn't get the didn't actually make contact.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
And on the last three plays of that Baltimore game,
they had Justice Hill blocking Chris Jones three plays in
a row. I'mobing, and everybody's sitting up like Jae Lamar
can't make the throw. It's like, well, if e'ven going
to his post game, he even said, I saw that
Chris Jones was on Justics Hill, so I knew I
(44:43):
had to get rid of the ball early.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Then you know what I mean, he didn't have anyway.
That is that called no man? Come on, you know me,
I'll take a left on the road in the Harvey.
Is that calling your coaching staff out? Just kind of
kind of slightly?
Speaker 4 (44:56):
I know, I knew, I knew It's so if I
I knew, coach, somebody else should have known that we
have Justice Hill blocking the best defensive linemen in all
of National Football League.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Yeah, yeah, okay, I don't know. Maybe he calls the
protection it was, you know, I mean any even yeah,
I got you.
Speaker 4 (45:19):
But once again, back to Anthony Richardson, I see him
make throws like that too, where you make some throws
and it's like wow, what an arm and then he'll
miss a guy or two in a row and it's like, bro,
you gotta make that throw on this level, I don't
want to hear no excuses, read it, see it, let
it go. So uh, I think Houston probably wins this game.
(45:39):
I would, I would, I would pick and take them.
Indianapolis is still kind of an enigma type team for me.
Jonathan Taylor did hold out and finally got his money,
but he, to me, didn't look like the same back.
I think some of this stuff took control undamentally. Maybe
he bounces back from it. I love the defense. They're
at home once again opening week division game, but I
think with the pieces that added that Houston added, I
(46:01):
think they're gonna be really good earlier in the year
because everybody's healthy, everybody's fresh. I wait to see when
they hit some diversity, whether a player gets hurt or
they'll lose to in a row or lose to a
team you shouldn't, or blow a home game or something
like that. Before I would go out on the limit
and like pick against him. I think they can win
that division. I still like Jacksonville to bounce back this year,
but I like Houston in this game. Anthony Richardson to me,
(46:23):
I just I just haven't seen him playing a football Martin.
I got to see him play more football.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
But here's the thing, the thing, the thing for Anthony Richardson,
for me, obviously invested with the fourth overall pick in
the draft and remerest said, I'll eat my I'll eat
a sheet of paper if if the Colts take Will
Levis with the.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
Fourth pick of the draft. I'm so far undefeated on
not eating a sheet of paper. You pick some smart
bets not to eat at. I want you to lose
one because you say it, so I'm gonna make you
do it. But you don't remember that whole that at
that time, it's like they move up to get Levis.
They moved up to get Levis, but we know neither
one of us ever bought that though.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Either way, Yeah, there's two archetypes of rushing quarterbacks in
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
I'll say there's actually there's three archetypes of rushing quarterbacks
in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
First, you have Cam Newton, who is big, bruising, seeking
out contact and in turn getting completely blasted on some
quarterback run and still fast.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
All of them are fast because they're running quarterbacks, right,
but with Cam size, for him to have that speed
was just more so.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
The other one is Lamar Jackson, right, I'm talking about
the tippy top of these archetypes.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
The other one is Lamar Jackson Justice fast.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
More of a straight line runner, more of a punt
return type of runner, right, but seemingly out of bounds,
often going down often. It was surprising to see how
much contact he took on Thursday night.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
We rarely see Leamar getting tackle that much lower his shoulder,
rarely see Leabar gt tackle that.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
That's the other archetype. And the one in the middle
is Josh Allen. What do you mean, Martin, Josh Allen's
on a running quarterback. I'll talk about court, but Josh
Allen has the ability to move around the pocket and
scramble for both to extend the pass and go get
yards with his legs.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
Right.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
Josh Allen I think is the best one. Patrick Mahomes
is really good at it.
Speaker 3 (48:24):
Those types of runners, Anthony Richardson right now, right, if
you have Lamar all the way to the left, Josh
Allen in the middle, Cam Newton on the way to
the right, Anthony Richardson needs to be between Lamar Jackson
and Josh Allen, not between Josh Allen and Cam Newton.
In terms of what type of running Corny port, what
(48:45):
type of running quarterback are you going to be?
Speaker 2 (48:48):
I got one for you.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
I'm saying if he can, but if he can stay
in terms of seeking contact, it's terms of his speed.
And I remember these are to me, these guys are
the top of the top of the top. Right when
it comes to this, can he get out of bounds?
Can you can you just speak like that? Can you
just be let Josh Allen to extend passing place? Because
we see his arms strong? Yep, Right, he's got a
huge arm.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
He's gotta be between.
Speaker 3 (49:09):
If Lamar's one, Josh is five, Anthony richards gotta be
a three.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
I got a comparison for you of a quarterback. He
needs to be like a guy who ran, he was big,
he took his shots. Two on guys that he knew
he can take his shots on before a lot of
times I could see him sliding and getting down.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
If he turns into a Dante Cole.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
Knew you were about to say that. I almost jumped.
I almost jumped in front of you to say it,
but I didn't want to be rude.
Speaker 4 (49:35):
I knew he can turn himself, and that's what happens. Man,
when you're going on year three, you're radio show with Java.
If he can turn himself into a Dante Colepepper type runner,
he'll be fine. But you're right, if he tries to
be Cam Newton, it's already shown. I don't know what
was up with Joe Biden. You're just as big, you know.
But everybody's bodies are put together deffinitely.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
Cam Newton's retired at a football camp taking on three
grown men, slinging these guys around like rag dolls like
that's that's how big and strong Cam Newton was.
Speaker 4 (50:08):
He didn't get hurt until later of the accumulation of hits.
But when he was young, Cam was never hurting, never
out of games.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
Cam got into a car, didn't get to a car
accident on the way to practice.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
If the car flipped and road.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
He crawled out of it and went and helped the
other guy and then started that Sunday like, that's that's
DNA man, That's that means you have a Yeah, you're tough,
you got a good you gotta we'll put together body
if you could go through that during the week and
then show up. But I don't think Anthony rich Shion
has that type of bo doesn't. That's not a knock
to Anthony Rowson. That is a more of a boost
(50:41):
up to Cam Newton because Cam Newton had it was
a vibranium.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
In his Yeah yeah, yeah, you go black pant that
black panther stuff. Yeah yeah, that whatever Wolverine had. I
forget what.
Speaker 14 (50:52):
I forget what that's what his vibranium, adam Ante Wolverine
vibranium is black man NERD. Look at you guys, should
see Ian smiling right now.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
Like yeah, yeah, eat that, guys. I got something. I know,
I know something Martin VJ don't know. But no, he's
not that type of runner. And that's why I say
Dante Colepepper because Dante Colepepper wasn't built like that either.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
Like I said, when he had a smaller linebacker. A linebacker,
he was just as big ass.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
Or he had a defensive back, he would damn sure
put his shoulder down and run over you. But there
are a lot of scrambles. I can remember watching the
Vikings at that time, even when he was down, even
when he was playing with the Raiders, suit he would
get out of bounds. But he was a big enough
guy to take the hits that quarterbacks take in the
pocket or when you get sacked at things that nature.
Anthony Riginson got hurt in the fourth game in his
(51:41):
rookie year and was out for the season, so he
needs to kind of adjust his way. I agree with you, No,
you can't. He can't even be Josh Allen because Josh
Allen honestly, Josh ain't been heart yet. Josh, Josh runs
over guys.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
You gotta be in the lane closer to Lamar Jackson.
You know that's I just settled that up.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
He already said he's gotta be closer that a guy
who's avoiding contact more often than not if he's gonna
be a guy who's gonna be successful in this league.
But speaking of success, we've had a lot of conversations
about what the Houston Texans can do, what they can
achieve right. My question to you is, VJ, what is
a disappointing season for Houston if they don't win this division.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
They have to win a division because they won it
last year. You can't go backwards.
Speaker 4 (52:20):
You can't win a division in my opinion, one year
and not win it the next year and it'd be
looked at as a successful year unless you while you
ride the wildcard all the way to the super Bowl,
which has only happened I believe once or twice an
NFL history in the super Bowl modern era.
Speaker 3 (52:32):
So they have to and they gotta win more games.
They can't be ten and seven again this year.
Speaker 4 (52:36):
That's not gonna get because you're telling me with all
these additions, you're telling me CJ. Stroud is an upper
echelon favorite to win MVP. People are picking this team
to win a playoff game again and go far.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
And you won a playoff game last year, So you
can't not win the division and then try to sneak
in as a wildcard and tell me that's a successful
year as opposed to what we saw in twenty twenty three.
What I need from you this year to me. They
got to be eleven to six to twelve and five.
You've added what wes CJ's the guy, right. This is
what they did with Josh Shallow and josh Allah his
first playoff success the next year.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
It was all about the bills of Josh and he
lived up to some of that.
Speaker 4 (53:09):
So I expect him to because they do have weapons
around him to suffice for him to be able to
produce him the way.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
That they need him to.
Speaker 9 (53:18):
But this defense is good.
Speaker 4 (53:19):
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls in Houston, Texas have
a really good defense. They're not going to get blown
out of a lot of games unless they're just missing
a lot of guys on the back end. Are you
missing your rush guy? Are you detackled? Think about it.
The Texas have taken two great defensive players in the
last two drafts high in the draft, and both of
those guys are on the field producing for him. But
I think Houston goes on the road tomorrow and they
(53:42):
get this dope because they just have more talent right now.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
And Anthony's working his way back.
Speaker 3 (53:46):
Twenty eighth to nothing right now. Nebraska over Colorado going
into the half, Illinois, Kansas and Illinois seventeen thirteen. Right now,
Tennessee just got a touchdown going into the half against
NC State seventeen to three.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
Right now Colorado getting molly wapped.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Is J Feeley's son, I forget his name, Jase maybe
is about to attemptle looks like a fifty?
Speaker 2 (54:07):
Is that j Pheelly son the kicker, the NFL kicker
and turn commentator J. Fiely Okay, oh, sixty one?
Speaker 3 (54:12):
Young one yard field goal attempt to try to go
into the half with some points for the Colorado Buffalo's
will make it?
Speaker 4 (54:18):
Martin, No, he make it? No, No, that's sixty one.
Have I ever seen a college kick kicksit? Nor did
Dave China? Sixty two?
Speaker 2 (54:26):
That's sixty two? Oh God?
Speaker 3 (54:28):
And that look consecutive blocked kick that we've seen of
sixty plus yards today, Coach Prime gotta get a lot
of work to do against baby Mahomes as they call him.
Coming up next, we will talk about sometimes in the
NFL there are no good decisions. There are simply one
that is better than the other. This team is forced
(54:49):
with that. We'll get through that coming up next. Martin
Weis's j Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday, a rock and
a hard place. That is what this team is stuck between.
Which ones better. We'll get to a coming up in
just two seconds. Martin and VJA on a Fox Sports
Football Saturday. Martin wis VJ Husky coming to you live
from the tiraq dot com studios. Hit us up with
(55:10):
your two cents on Twitter. VJ is the big vanilla funny.
I'm at Martin wise, VJ. He's got anything over there.
Let's see here we do gots?
Speaker 4 (55:19):
Oh yeah, Andy fourth, and then he did jump back
in and say, yeah, I tweeted, I tweeted before before
the segment was over. Yeah, exactly, But I do want
to go to this from stylish. Valdez says that Ed
Reed doesn't know what he's talking about. Ravens tried to
man up Kelsey, what red what read reference to? And
(55:41):
then Andy do motion bunch formations crossover text the Ravens
man's defense, which is why you saw Ri Shaul Rice
singled up on linebackers and getting free releases. That's not
the point he's making, Valdez. I get what you're saying.
He's telling you that if you're supposed to be the guy,
then you should be on if you're that guy, I'm
that guy, and I gotta be on that guy. He's
(56:02):
he's referring to teams not taking their best player, which
I agree with him, but there's not a lot of
Ed Reed's walking around. But I do believe that teams
have guys that you could put on Kelsey and say okay,
regardless of what's going on on the field, you follow
a seven period and that's the end of the story,
(56:22):
and teams don't do that for some reason. Now, once again,
everybody doesn't have an ed Reid. There's some pretty good
players in the NFL. Though, you know, I get what
he's saying. Well, to the point, it's when we watch
the Chiefs, what is it. It's Mahomes of Kelse.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
Mahomes like Mahomes and kelsh We had a little sprinkler Xavi,
you're worthy in there in game one. We'll see all
that continues its coverage, but historically we're looking at mahomes
of Kelsey. So ed Reid says, well, if I know
what he's throwing to this guy, that's the guy I'm
about to go take out of the game. It's not
about he's not saying the Ravens should have done something
(56:55):
different on defense. He's saying, that's what he would have
done had he been out there exactly. I mean, asked
Eddie George.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
You remember the years the Titans were really good, right,
had air Steve Air McNair, really good documentary on that rest.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
Yeah, rip to the homie. But that team where ray
Lewis said he took it upon himself. I got Eddie George.
They I mean, those two guys had a rivalry.
Speaker 4 (57:18):
When if we had our linebacker running back, real NFL rivalry.
Remember the screen pass that he took from Eddie George
in the ABC Championship game and ran it back for
a touchdown, like like completely punking him. Like That's that's
what Edary's saying, because Eddie George was the man, right,
he was top three or top two and MVP voting
one year, and and ray Lewis felt.
Speaker 2 (57:39):
Like I'm the man.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
So then I got that guy. Don't worry about not
I got you all day. That's what ed Reid is saying. Valdaz,
we appreciate you listening on Man A Rock and a
hard Place, VJ.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
That's what people say when they don't have any good
decisions to make stuck between the rock and hardhood. That's
what the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently, Russell Wilson or Justin Field.
It's like asparagus or broccoli, right, like you know, neither
one of them are gonna give you the satisfaction of dessert.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
Yeah, how long have you been holding onto that one? Well,
asparagus versus broccolissi all the time, But I had it
on the next I give you promised. Then that was
off the dome. It was I was pretty.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
That was That was pretty because neither one of them
are gonna give you the satisfaction of dessert. Even though
I like bacon wrap asparagus, continue Martin Well, Russell Wilson.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Does not have bacon wrapped around his asparagus.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
In fact, his calf strain that has been bothering him
for the most of the of the preseason, or has
it been VJ No no no no no no no
no no.
Speaker 10 (58:43):
No no no no.
Speaker 3 (58:44):
He put his tinfoil cap on if tinfoil fitted cap.
We all three that that has a conspiracy theory. Ian
get him on this because all three of us did
before the show. I I felt like when he was
named the starter.
Speaker 4 (58:57):
I was actually surprised, I really was, because I've just
been on the Justin feel side of this the whole time.
Speaker 2 (59:03):
But I don't believe that the calf was ever.
Speaker 4 (59:07):
Healed, because it didn't heal and then he aggravated it
against it, where it's really a game time decision whether
he goes tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
And to your point, if.
Speaker 3 (59:17):
In fact the calf was it all the way healed,
then what the hell are you doing playing preseason football back?
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Thank you, absolutely, and that's what that was. Mary's now,
well you I threw mine down, throw yours. Yours makes
a lot of sense too.
Speaker 3 (59:30):
My conspiracy theory here is that this is an excuse
to go ahead and let Justin Field start the season
as I thought they should have been doing from the
get go, and if Justin Fields plays poorly through two
weeks or through four quarters for that matter, all of
(59:50):
a sudden that calf muscle for Russell Wilson will heal
up expeditiously.
Speaker 5 (59:56):
And I liked what Martin was saying before the show
about how it's about how it's easier to switch from
Russ to fields it than it is to go from
fields to Russ.
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Right, yeah, yeah, But I The only balkback for me
on that is if you it's bad, it's gonna be
bad to switch.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Period.
Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
I was always and this is before you started producing
the show when this happened back in April May, whenever
this move was made, I told Martin.
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
I wouldn't go into the season with both of them.
One's gonna beat one out and then the other one's
gotta go. Now, Martin has a good point about the
contract being so.
Speaker 4 (01:00:33):
Friendly for Russell Wilson as your backup, like this is
the best backup con exactly financially it works and fine,
But Pittsburgh I don't think that's something they need to
worry about right now. You need to figure out what
you're gonna do with your quarterback position, because, like we
talked about Michigan and now one if you have two
to this is Bill barcells line.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Bill barcelsa is twenty five years ago.
Speaker 4 (01:00:54):
If you got two quarterbacks, it means you don't have one, right,
There's no that's one position in sports you have no
uh uh an outside like influence about you know who
it is. There's no confusion all fifty other the other
fifty two guys in the locker room all, no, that's
the guy.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
All the coaches, everyone in the franchise knows this is
the guy.
Speaker 9 (01:01:16):
They don't have that.
Speaker 5 (01:01:17):
But the thing with the Steelers that is, like Martin
was saying, is it's it's like broccoli and asparagus. You
don't want to start either guy. But the issue though,
is that whoever they do end up starting, as soon
as they play bad, people are just gonna be calling
for the other one.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
And then what if the other one plays back for
two again, They're gonna be calling like, but that's that's
why you Your season is done.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
And then get justin out there.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
If he struggles, Okay, even if he plays decent, you
can still say, all right, well Russ is healthy. Now
willing to get a look at Russ. Russ goes out
there to stakes bring back Tofton.
Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
Yeah, I think you lose the locker room if you
do that. It's just well I'm saying, he's hurt. Yeah,
I get it, he's heard he can't play. I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:54):
And you know what will help all of is if
Justice starts and just plays okay to good. I don't
think he'll be great, but if he's just okay to
good and keeps them in game week the week. Hey,
JJ Watt gets a strip sack one of these Sundays
and picks it up and runs you know, chame TJ
excuse me. TJ gets a strip sacking and runs it
in for a touchdown and saves a game. Naja Harris
(01:02:16):
breaks the long run for you. Pickens goes up and
gets one of his four catches that day and scores.
Things can break for you or break against you, but
Justin allows you to be able to put plays in
the playbook, call plays that you can't call for us.
You could call Russ plays for Justin, but you can't
call all Justin plays for USS. I think that's why
(01:02:38):
you need to start. But I think the calf is
was real. I think it was aggravated early, and they
just it's just also age man, it's wearing tear. But
I just don't believe that thing healed enough for them
to name him the starter, and now he reaggravated it,
and now's game time decision.
Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
Well, there is no competition for who's the best up
to that acre in all of the land. And we'll
kick it over to Steve the Sega for everything trending
in the World of sports.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
State.
Speaker 12 (01:03:04):
Y'reight, let's start with the college football scoreboard. It's halftime.
Tennessee is leading at NC State twenty to three in
a matchup of top twenty five teams. At number two
Ohio State, the Buckey is shutting out Western Michigan at
the half thirty five to nothing. They started the fourth
quarter on FS one Kansas, ranked nineteenth in the country,
leads at Illinois seventeen thirteen under ten minutes to go.
(01:03:27):
At number four Alabama, South Florida has just scored. For
the moment, they're down fourteen to twelve against the Tide.
Starting the fourth quarter at number nine Missouri Miszoo thirty
one nothing over Buffalo. Also in progress, LSU only leading
Nichols twenty three twenty one early in the third halftime
at fifteenth ranked Oklahoma Sooners over Houston fourteen to six,
(01:03:50):
and number twenty five Clemson head of app State in
the second quarter forty nine to seven, half hour away
from Oregon hosting Boise State, Arizona home to Northern Arizona
and coming up on Big ten Network eleven pm Eastern time.
Number thirteen usc Is home to Utah State, wins in
the top ten today for Georgia, Old Miss and number
(01:04:13):
eight Penn State, which eventually beat Bowling Green thirty four
twenty seven. Number three Texas dominated at Michigan thirty one
to twelve Northern Illinois with the upset at number five
Notre d aime with a last minute field goal sixteen
to fourteen. Late field goal got Iowa State a comeback
win at number twenty one Iowa twenty to nineteen. Oklahoma
State in double overtime beat Arkansas, Kansas State, and Syracuse
(01:04:37):
with wins. Packers quarterback Jordan Love could miss three to
six weeks with a spring to MCL forty nine. Ers
running back Christian McCaffrey was limited in practice again with
a calf injury, but he says he'll play Monday. Washington
signed quarterback Sam Hartman from the practice squad, quarterback Marcus
Mariotas on IR Carolina place tight end Ian Thomas on
(01:04:57):
injury reserve, and signed Felipe Franks from the practice squad.
The Chargers placed wide receiver DJ Shark on injured reserve
with a bad hip. Colts kicker Matt Gay is questionable
with the sports hernea, so kicker Spencer Schrader was elevated
number two seed. Arena Sablenka won the US Open. Nuggets
guard Jamal Murray reportedly agreed to a four year MAX
extension in Major League Baseball. Tonight, the White Sox are
(01:05:21):
losing again. It's top of the eighth inning at Boston
Red Sox seven to five over Chicago. If the White
Sox lose, their record will be thirty two and one
eleven for the season. We still have three weeks left
in this season. This would be one hundred and eleven losses.
The record is one twenty for a team in a season.
The Yankees are back into first in the AL East,
half game over the Orioles. Yanks won two to nothing
(01:05:43):
at the Cubs, while Baltimore lost at home seven to
one to Tampa Bay. Miami beat Philadelphia and Aaron Nola
nine to five, ending the phil six game winning streak.
The Mets won their ninth in a row, four nothing
over Cincinnati, but Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil will miss
four to six weeks with a broken wrist. He was
hit by a pitch last night. The Braves are trailing
at home six to one to Toronto. Top of the ninth.
(01:06:05):
The Mets and Braves to start the day were tied
for the final NL wild card spot. Dodgers out to
a three not thing lead in the first against the
Cleveland Guardians. Giants lead at San Diego three to top
of the fourth.
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and VJ. Coming to
your live on the tire rack dot Com studios. We'll
get to this, we'll be what.
Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
Is it the third chance? What's up? Real quick, Steve?
How far are we are? Are we closing out? Baseball
record is one oh? Seven losses so far? One eleven? Oh,
one eleven, so just nine more?
Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
How many games?
Speaker 12 (01:06:36):
Well, actually I've counted tonight as a loss. I apologize, Okay,
I said if they lose tonight, yeah, that would be
one eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
So they'll be not off the record. And how many
games left?
Speaker 12 (01:06:46):
Three weeks? So that's close to twenty games?
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Oh, d'll yeah, Oh we're getting that one twenty over baby.
Speaker 12 (01:06:52):
By the way, we do have breaking news from Angel Reach.
She says she's out for the season. She didn't give
the injury, but she had been listed questionable with a
wrist injury. She says her rookie season's over.
Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Oh wow, Well, how did she say that? Steve was
this on her podcast?
Speaker 12 (01:07:09):
No, this was a long post, too long for me
to go into all of it. But looking for the
actual news item, let's just say this is not how
a team would have written it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Oh so this is the Angel Reese announcing herself that
she's out for the You.
Speaker 12 (01:07:22):
Yes, absolutely. I never would have imagined the last bucket
of my rookie season would be a three.
Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
That was one of the quotes.
Speaker 4 (01:07:29):
Wow, me neither, honestly. Yeah, need that real quote. You
guys know how I feel about her. Man, it's my
boo boo. I'm not I'm not a fan.
Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
I watched it. I'm not a fan of what the podcast.
I mean, Yeah, why would you?
Speaker 3 (01:07:41):
I know?
Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
And that's my girl, That's that's my booboo. But I focus, Mama,
lock back in and focus. I know you're beautiful, I
know you got a lot of outside interest, a lot
of outside it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
I totally totally one get it. But it started to
feel like being more caring about being the the im
Midge than the great basketball player. And I'm gonna male
female pro college doesn't matter. I'm gonna always bunk back
against that, so wasn't.
Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
A fan of it?
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Football fans, be sure to tune in the Fox Sports
Radio every Sunday morning to be in at ten am
Eastern seven am percent for Countdown the Kickoff presented by
Bett mgm, Brian Know, Jeff Schwartz, a professional better Bill Krackenberger.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
What have you covered three hours before kickoff?
Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
Every Sunday morning, Listen to Countdown the Kickoff presented by
Bet mgm right here on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
All right, VJ, Who's got more pressure on them in
this game? Coming up? The Steelers or the Falcons? Quickly?
And then I want to talk about the Giants and
the Vikings Falcons. Easy for me.
Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
Ye're predicted to win the division. New quarterback, You have
a lot of weapons, Naraedo World quarterback in Pitticks, really
good young runner back of Bijon Drake London, Kyle Pitts.
One of the better safeties, probably if not the best
safety anchoring a top ten defense. Matthew Judon, new head coach. Yes,
it is definitely the Atlanta Falcons. There's no pressure on
pitch tomorrow. They are playing with Martin's favorite phrase house
(01:09:03):
money and in the Atlanta Falcons. They need to go
get this Duff. I need like twenty four to ten.
This needs to be a significant win and a convincing
win for me. For the Atlanta Falcons, I agree, it's
the Falcons.
Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
They have this whole new era, the Kirk Cousins era,
where they're revamping everything, new coach, new quarterback, like you
said a second ago, all the lifted judaon and Justin
Simmons and all these guys they've brought in.
Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
They are going for it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:32):
Yeah, and if you buy a Corvette, it better not
had the check engine, like come on at the first
stop light. They need to go out and get this
win and hopefully an convincing way. Because this Pittsburgh we
all kind of agree that Pittsburgh is a team that
is middling and will have trouble making the playoffs this year.
Speaker 5 (01:09:51):
Yes, something else too with Atlanta is if they lose,
then people are going to be clowning them even more
for taking penics.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
No, don't let Kirk Cousins play port.
Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Oh I'm to say, Yeah, Kurt's gotta go out tomorrow
and play actually pretty you know, pretty productively.
Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
He can't go out tomorrow and have a mediocre game.
But I tell you this, it's all that. The recipe
is turning hand to the young horse, turning hand to
the young buck, turning hand the ball to be Jean
Robinson twenty times Tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
It's the first game. I don't want to hear about
count play, total counts and all that stuff. No first play,
I'm running my guys into the ground. If I'm a
head coach, I'll say this.
Speaker 3 (01:10:27):
I wish I had thought of this before this moment
right now, but I'm gonna start doing this next year.
Come up with a list of the biggest bets that
NFL teams are making. Right The Falcons are making a
pretty big bet on Kirk Cousin, right like the Broncos
and Sean Payton. There is no bigger bet that he's
(01:10:52):
making right now on Bonis right like, that's one of
the biggest bets that they're making. Atlanta's making a big
bet on themselves also to just with Atlanta really quick
after if they don't get tomorrow. Eagles, Chiefs, Saints, Bucks, Panthers, Seahawks, Bucks,
Cowboys is within their first ten. They don't get tomorrow,
(01:11:13):
it could turn ugly. Really, they're not beating in chiefs
in Week two. I think we all agree with that
they could just get ugly, real fast.
Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
For whatever reason, it seems that's the offensive minds in
football that I really respect.
Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Like the guys who I think who've got it figured
out right, the guys why I think are the top
of the league.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
For whatever reason, they seem to all love Sam Darnold.
I can't figure out to make heads and tails of it.
I really can't. Yeah, well, I mean, you gotta think
about it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
Kyle Shanan said he was Stevie Minnie Steve Young last
year right as it was as he was backing up
Rock Party. Kevin O'Connell says, you know what, I'm gonna
pay you a bridge quarterback contract.
Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
Would love to have you come and compete for the
starting job, and I you know you got handed it
to him. But still they all love Sam Darnold.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
I think what it is is the I can fix
some syndrome of head coaches and gms of the National
Football League. Everybody believes that they can fix a guy
that other people have given up on.
Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
And I tell you this. You make a point by
saying a lot of the offensive minds that you like him.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
They don't like him that much because all those coaches
you name, he's been with all them for one year,
like they have him for a year. Of course they
say some good stuff about him, then why don't you
keep them around just to case? You know, they let
the Carolina let them go, Sam, let's go let him go.
Like there's teams there's cool, there's teams that'll let him go.
Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
And I understand you can like a guy, but I
think when you put film on and as the decisions
need to be made in the off season, you just go, Okay, look,
he was serving.
Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
He's what we.
Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
Needed him to be for one year, which isn't much.
He needs to actually show and prove that he could
be an NFL quarterback. I still don't buy. I like
the Giants at home with this one. But after this Niners, Texas,
pal Uh, Vikings, Jets, Lions. It's loaded up from from
Minnesota and Sam Darnold. So we're gonna find out real
fast whether he can really play or maybe he's just
(01:13:14):
one of those guys that just keep getting the chance. Man,
we've had backups. Who's the backup that made like eighty
million dollars one hundred million dollars or something over his
career sixty something million dollars?
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
Is Daniel is it? Is it Daniels to Chase because
he's not like the zero the bank at backup quarterback.
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
Yeah, he would be like at like year fourteen thirteen
somewhere like. But yeah, of course people say they keep
like Jacobe Risside, right, people, Yeah, you seem to like him,
but he's there for a year or two.
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
And then the and then he's gone. So I don't
know how much they like him.
Speaker 5 (01:13:43):
According to the Google Machine, Chase Daniel banked more than
forty one million dollars over his NFL career.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
Can you remember Chase played that? You job? Can you
remember Chase Daniel play that makes you go? Wow? I
remember Chase Daniel did this thing.
Speaker 9 (01:13:57):
Yeah, he's on the athletic now.
Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
I am pretty sure it was Chase Daniel who came
in and led a big second half drive against Cleveland
in Baker Mayfield's rookie year when they Chiefs knocked him
out of the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
Holmes was hurt. He got hurt in the middle of
the game at the come out.
Speaker 9 (01:14:18):
One year, there was a Chad Henny year.
Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
But I don't know that was my man chad for Michigan.
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
But either way, that's a good segue because we were
about to play a special NFL edition Week one edition
of Who You Got? Coming up at the top of
the hour, we will go through the Atomic Dogs at
some NFL picks. You got that coming up around the riverband,
Martin Wis's Vida Husky, Fox Sports Football Saturday, Martin and
(01:14:46):
VJ coming to your life on Thetirack dot Com studios.
You can get us on Twitter. I'm at Martin Weiss
at Big Vanilla Funny, and of course submit your guesses
for Who you.
Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
Got, which we do right now.
Speaker 9 (01:15:00):
Right guys, excited for this one? Today's Who you Got?
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Let me hear it in your voice. You sounds super excited.
Speaker 9 (01:15:05):
I'm really excited for this one. So just to clarify
that how this is going to work.
Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
It sound like a baby billy.
Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
So this is actually a special edition of Who You Got.
It's gonna be Jets Niners specific. So this player or coach,
it's just they have something to do with the New
York Jets versus San Francisco forty nine Ers game coming
up on Monday, So let's get into it. The first
clue I have for you guys is that this player
immigrated to the US from Trinidad and Tobago, which is
(01:15:37):
a Caribbean nation, with his brothers as a kid, and
he was homeless for large stretches of his youth.
Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Immigrated from Trinidad and to Bago. I also think it's
really cool you have countries that have two names like
and Tobago.
Speaker 9 (01:15:56):
Yeah, it's literally called Trinidad and Tobago. They couldn't decide.
They were like, let's just go both.
Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
You got a guess, No, I do? Is he Abaconda?
Speaker 11 (01:16:06):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
That's a good guest though, just because the exotic last name.
I yeah, Okay. There no next clue. He was a
Juco product playing at Jones County Junior College for one
year before transferring, and I will give you to where
he transferred to with the next clue.
Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
Jones County, Jones County Community College. If I just told
you what state is Jones County, I can tell you.
I can tell you it's Mississippi. Mississippi, all right, Mississippi, Mississippi.
Juco product Jones County. Shockingly, seeing as this Juco was
not on last chance to you, I do not know
anything about it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
No, me, neither at all all.
Speaker 5 (01:16:47):
Right, Next clue, he played college football at the University
of South Carolina, so that's where he transferred after JUCO and.
Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Is either a Jet or a Niner at South Carolina
transfer from Trinidad Intobeg. He didn't transfer. He immigrated from
Trinida Vega.
Speaker 5 (01:17:03):
He trans transferred to transferred to the US from Trinidad
and Tobago and then transfer.
Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
And then play South Carolina South Carolina though, And he
already said a player, so he gave that part away.
Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
So it's not a coach South Carolina, South Carolina? Is
it my man who wants some with Deebo Samuel?
Speaker 9 (01:17:20):
No, not Deebo. But he did go to USC.
Speaker 2 (01:17:25):
All right.
Speaker 5 (01:17:25):
Next up, he was a first round pick of the
forty nine ers in the twenty twenty NFL Draft, which
was the COVID Draft.
Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
If you remember, first round pick of the forty nine
ers and the COVID draft was it was not Trey Lance.
That's the year after right, No, it was Trey Lance.
Not Trey Lance. Was it Trey Lance? Twenty twenty class?
I guess? So is it the year after that? Solomon Thomas? No,
he was that was. I'm just trying to think of
high picks that involved this game, Warner.
Speaker 9 (01:17:55):
No, so here, here's the last clear. He was a
forty nine er. He's now a Jet.
Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
It was a forty nine reason now it's Jett, is it?
It's not Solomon Thomas, it's not. It wasn't Niner and
now plays for the bum ass Jets.
Speaker 9 (01:18:11):
I know Niners fans are screaming at the radios right now.
Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
I know they are. I'm sure they are. Was a
Niner and now is a Jet. Who do I want
over there? Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
Salomon Thomas was drafted third in the twenty seventeen NFL draft,
not the twenty twenty two or twenty twenty NFL draft.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
It wasn't Niner now yet. It wasn't yet.
Speaker 9 (01:18:36):
I have a recent first round draft picks. All right,
I'm gonna give it to you guys, ready, Yeah, no, where,
I don't know that you guys should gets one more.
We don't even we haven't even a minute yet.
Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
I haven't even said.
Speaker 9 (01:18:53):
Yeah, I got that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
I want to yeah, I want to take a This
is linking the lake and Thomas was driving about the Alliance.
Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
But he's a Jet now isn't he Lake and Tomlinson.
Now he as of this offseason is no longer with
that qualified for forty nine Er and Jets. It could
have been him. He's related to those teams. Yeah, but no,
it's not him.
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Marrying that.
Speaker 9 (01:19:12):
Damn it gives her so much joy.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
It doesn't. It's a line, right, and it sounds like
a line. It sounds like a lineman.
Speaker 9 (01:19:20):
Yeah, it sounds like a defensive lineman.
Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
Hard Gray, Hard Gray, Mill, Wilkins, Watson, Johnstone.
Speaker 9 (01:19:29):
All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna give it to you guys.
It's Javon kinlaw.
Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
Kin law Oh yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't have got that.
Speaker 9 (01:19:36):
A recent first round pick.
Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
Yeah, I wouldn't have got that. He wasn't that good
If he's already on the second team is the reason.
First round pick? And it just makes sense that he plays.
He's had some injury and it just made yeah. Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
Here we go to bum ass Jet fans making excuses
for the bomass Jets.
Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
There we go, Jets, Niners, what are your quick thoughts? Niners?
It's not close.
Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
I just hope Aaron Rodgers plays more than four this
time we say five players doing speaking picks.
Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
We'll make those coming up in Jeff the moment, Martin
and VJ.
Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
That's right, and we're broadcasting live from the tire iraq
dot com studios, tire rack dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Well help you get there.
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
With the unmaxed selection, fast free shipping, fruid as a protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers tire act dot com.
It's the way that tire buying should be. VJ is
with great pleasure, Yeah, with great honor. Yeah, with great excitement. Yeah.
That For the first time this year, we unveil one
(01:20:38):
of my favorite segments of Martin and VJA. It's where
we picked are underdogs in the NFL that we think
will win outright. That's right, America, It's time for the
atomic dogs. Oh, we gotta get the sounder. It's an
atomic dog sounder in there somewhere.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
Yeah. I was gonna ask what I never did? You
did not tell me any We'll search for it now
if you can find you can find it. Play.
Speaker 9 (01:21:03):
Does it looks so unprofessional?
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Yeah? You're right. You are being right now and you
need to tie you up. Absolutely. We'll give you thirty
seconds right now, don't worry. Watch what do you do? Radio?
For thirty seconds?
Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
They give you a second try to find this thing
you got the Atomic Dogs. This is the point when
you're going to the office at work and you can.
Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
Say, man, you know what, I can't believe that this
team one every week in the NFL. We got it
every week in the NFL. We here can you believe
what this team did? You listen to this segment. You
know what you'll be able to do. Go in and
work that Monday and say that was that. I believe it.
Here's the check to prove it. That's right.
Speaker 3 (01:21:43):
It's hard for the Atomic Dogs. Every week at ten
o'clock we tell you, we tell the future which underdog
will win? Out right?
Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
BJA, why don't you go ahead and hit me. Oh,
we're doing it a little different this year. Before we
get into it, we're gonna go from third to first.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
We will both have three the third, the least confident,
middle confident, the number one.
Speaker 2 (01:22:03):
Lock it in, put it in the bank. VJ. Let's
go ahead and start with your bronze medal. Atomic My
least confident one man is gonna be my man. I'm
going with my man.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
B why to have a bounce back year for the
Carolina Panthers. They're on the road against Martin's New Orleans Saints.
He hates the quarterback, he hates the coach.
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
He can't wait for Spencer Ratler to be put in
over car Maybe this offense starts to turn around.
Speaker 4 (01:22:28):
Some pieces been brought into Carolina. Pretty good defense. B
watch starts to understand the game of the NFL. The
offensive coordinator as now as head coach. That was offensive
coordinator that got bicker Manfield a hundred million dollars the plus.
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
Four give me that on the road tomorrow for my
first of twenty twenty four.
Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
My first dog, my third atom micdog.
Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
Will be your favorite Washington football team, the Commanders at
three and a half right now against the ten Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
They will beat the ten Bay Buccaneers. I hear what
you're saying, but mat and wait a second. Jaydeon Daniels
is a rookie quarterback. Rookie quarterbacks don't win in the
NFL in Week one.
Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
I hear you, but I raise you this rookie quarterbacks
don't run like jayde and Daniel runs.
Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
You will see a lot of design runs in this situation.
Speaker 3 (01:23:15):
How about this Hell's little sprinkle for this Todd Bowles
seven fourteen to two against the spread as a favorite
of three or more. Baker Mayfield fourteen twenty six and
one as a favorite regardless of the number those are
against the spread numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
But dan Quinn, go ahead, chalk it up the one.
Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
Going in the win column for your first and your
second go round as NFL head coach.
Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
VJ your second Atomic Dog. My second one involve is
a team of a TV show that Martin convinced me
to watch, and I fell in love with it so
much that I text him at three in the morning.
He didn't see the text until he won't come because.
Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
That's how late I was up watching him binge watching
his team, the New York Football Giants, at home.
Speaker 4 (01:23:51):
Tomorrow against the Minnesota Vikings. We've talked about Sam Darnold.
He's got the weapons galore. Yeah, a lot of offensive
guys have liked him. They didn't like him so much
that they stay with him.
Speaker 3 (01:24:00):
It's like the pretty girl that always goes to nice
state restaurants and goes.
Speaker 2 (01:24:03):
On all these trips, Then why are you single?
Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
These are all the guys that keep using you are
using you, just like these coaches have been doing for
Sam Darnold. If Danny Dimes doesn't throw the game away.
I like the defense. I like Malik Neighbors. Get that
young man the ball, Kevon Thibadeau on the rush end,
Go get you some sacks, get a home win to start.
Speaker 11 (01:24:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Absolutely, Oh yeah Burns.
Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
He was the big acquisition in the offseason, coming off
from the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
But I like this thing right here. It's just a
point and a half, So I think he's juicy enough
for me to take.
Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
Yo, give me the New York Football Giants son for
my second atomic doll. Are my second atomic dog Vj's third,
the Carolina Panthers. Go and beat the New Orleans Saints outright,
Bryce Young number one overall pick last year.
Speaker 2 (01:24:50):
You know what he needed, according to VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
Husky, some hell well, he's got two starting guards now,
Robert Hunt Damian lewis empty inside of that interior offensive line.
On the other side of things, as VJ touched a
lot about the Panthers, I'll talk about the Saints thirty
second ranked offensive line in the NFL, the worst quarterback
coach combination in the NFL Dennis Allen odds on favorite
(01:25:16):
to be the first head coach fired. This one in
the L column will be a reason why A sixteen
and one against the spread as a favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Derek Carr twenty seven, thirty one and two.
Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
Against the spread and divisional dogs that did not make
the postseason in Week one VJ sixty twenty five and
two covering by four points or more.
Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
You know where this line will?
Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
You know what this line is VJ three and a half.
All right, I'll paint the Carolina Panthers VJ your first.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
There we go my time.
Speaker 6 (01:25:46):
Dog.
Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
My mom always told me you don't double down on mistakes.
Mistakes are fine. You can make them, but you learn
from them, and you don't double down and keep making them.
The last two years, I've been saying the Cowboys are
gonna fall off the planet in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:26:01):
That has not happened. People are predicting them to do
it this year. I am not a third time as
the charm guy. Remember for me once, shame on me.
Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
For me twice.
Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
I ain't gonna fool me again. As George Bush once
famously messed up the line. Give it the Cowboys on
the road at Cleveland. I'm surprised Cleveland's even favorite in
this game because of the unknown of DeShawn Watson. But
when I look at the Dallas Cowboys guys with the
contract with Jerry Jones, with everybody's saying it has such
an awful off season, you know what I still see
goes out there tomorrow. Dak Prescott led the league seventy
(01:26:29):
percent passing last year and percentage over thirty touchdowns number
one in the league, forty five hundred yards. And then
Ceedy Lamb led the league in catches. He got paid now,
so there's no reason for him not to show up.
And Michael Parsons wants his money. He's gonna lead that defense.
Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
They go on the road and a plus two and
a half. This is juicy right here. Man is the
burgers I make on the grill.
Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
Baby, give it the Cowboys for my number one guaranteed
going on the road under dog to win this game
for my third but most confident dog, my most confident.
Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
All right, I've been talking this stuff all summer week one,
Maybe it's time to catch it already.
Speaker 3 (01:27:09):
Arizona car I go into Buffalo and beat Josh Allen
and the Buffalo Bills six and a half point underdogs.
Here's the reasons. I'll tell you why Kyler Murray injured
last season. He's healthy as he's gonna be right here
right now. That little dude will be running around like
a bad kid, trying to avoid time out. I'm trying
to avoid the Bills linebackers and Josh Allen. That offense
(01:27:33):
gonna take a second to get figured out, losing all
those wide receivers. Key On Coleman Sex be up into
a big role as a rookie, It's gonna take him
a second to get adjusted. Also, Carizona's gonna stop the run,
Gonna be in trouble for Josh Allen to go ahead
and run the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Mention my man, you're not.
Speaker 3 (01:27:48):
Gonna mention my offensive rookie of year. You gonna play
him like that. Oh I forgot my should walk in
and be a point receiver.
Speaker 2 (01:28:00):
I think so. I think so. Let's go ahead now
and dive into picks at large. Ian you're up, okay, guys,
I like I like that. I keep the energy. Come on,
Bill Belichick, junior, snapface. All right.
Speaker 9 (01:28:14):
We are going to start with the Texans and the Colts.
Speaker 5 (01:28:18):
You guys got The points spread is going to be
minus three Texans go ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:28:25):
This is a really interesting one because once again it's
on the road in and Apolis does feel the very
good defense, but I do think that the Texas make
enough plays down the stretch. It's the opening week, it's
a division game. But you know what, man, give me
the Colts right here to cover this three and a half.
I like the Houston to win. I just don't think
they covered this game. So I'll take the Colts on
the three and a half plus three at home, them
(01:28:47):
all close field this one and last second field goal
by two.
Speaker 3 (01:28:51):
Give me the give me the Texas by two. They
win the game and start want to know and want
to on the Division.
Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
I too, am taking any of us calls to cover.
I think that a great out to win this game.
Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
If nothing else, just think Anthony Richardson has the ability
to be that type of guy, and I wonder if.
Speaker 5 (01:29:06):
We had seen him healthy for more than four weeks
what this line would be. This game is so much fun.
I'm so excited for the Rams Lions game. Okay, so
the points spread is gonna be four and a half.
The Lions are favored, but there's so many storylines here
with Goff Stafford swap, who you guys got in this one.
Speaker 3 (01:29:25):
I'm gonna go with the Lions that cover because it
feels like these rematches always cover, right with the Chiefs
covered the other night, right. And when you get these
early season games and these revenge games from a playoff,
rarely does the team that lost comeback and win. I
think the game is close, but I think Detroit makes
a touchdown late to cover to make it a seven
(01:29:47):
point game a ten point game. And when you look
at the scorse here, you go, oh, they beat them
by tim like you added a late touchdown that was
really a three point game. The late touchdown was to
make sure that they cover.
Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
You know how, Vegas does give me the Lions here
to cover the four and a half them more, I'll
take that.
Speaker 3 (01:30:00):
I think the Lions cover in a very Vegas zone
type of game. Like VJ just said, I do think
that happens. But here's the reason why. In my opinion,
Rams defense I expect to take a step back. Not
only that without Aaron Donald, but they're missing four defensive
starters in the backfield right now. That's gonna be tough
against the offensive line in Detroit that holds up Jared
(01:30:20):
Goff will pick these guys apart.
Speaker 5 (01:30:22):
Okay, we talked, We talked about this game a little
bit before, but Jets Niners, and we are going to
talk about this a little more next segment. But just
a little preview. Who you guys got. The Niners are
favored by four points. I already know who VJ has.
Speaker 4 (01:30:36):
No, Actually you don't. I'm actually take foot because this
is this is about the points. And I like the
bob Ass Jets defense. That defense was tremendous last year.
They do got defensive players other than mister grabby Grabs
over there on the left corner side that doesn't follow
the best receiver around. But I like this defense to
keep this game close. I know Steve and Martin told
me not to pay attention to preseason, but when I
(01:30:58):
did watch San Francisco on all the number ones and
Brock Purty on the field with the number ones against
other defenses that had the number ones.
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
He didn't look in sick.
Speaker 4 (01:31:07):
He didn't really look like he could step right in
and just pick up where he left off from.
Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
He might gotta get it warmed up, might gotta get
it going and you know, like an.
Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
Old Chevy for eighty seven, Chevy gotta let it run
for a little bit, man before you pull off with it.
Speaker 4 (01:31:19):
But I do think the Niners have the jimmies and
Joe's to pull it off late. But I think it's
a close game. Aaron Rodgers plays the higher game. I'll
take the Jets to cover their plus four tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:31:29):
I'll take the forty nine Ers to cover the minus
four short favorites. I hate, hate, hate laying four. Laying
three is so much more appealing than laying four. But
I just think after all of this noise that the
forty nine Ers have had, ultimately it was much ado
about nothing. They come into training camp, they come in,
everybody's back, everybody's ready. And I think if we were
looking at this, if Trent Williams were still out, if
(01:31:51):
Brandon equal was still out, I'd have different feelings. Backspla
both of those guys to play and to be ready
to play. Forty nine Ers by four, all right?
Speaker 5 (01:31:58):
How about an in division match up the Raiders versus Chargers.
You got the Chargers with Harbaugh his first game back
in the NFL, favored by three points.
Speaker 9 (01:32:06):
Who you guys, got.
Speaker 3 (01:32:08):
Could it give me Jimmy Bergers because I need somebody
from Michigan to do something this weekend, right for what
I had to watch this morning, get up at the
crack of dawn on the West coast to watch that.
Speaker 4 (01:32:17):
But I just know the Raiders don't have a quarterback,
and the Chargers have a defense. You know they're gonna
be more physical at the point of attack on the
offensive defensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
That's what Jimmy Burgers does.
Speaker 4 (01:32:25):
They have Derwin James, they have Bosa, they have guys
that can still get upfield on the defensive end and
calls corruption for your offense once again, the Raiders have
no quarterback. We don't know a Zamara White's gonna be.
He looked great as a backup, like I talked about
Donovan Veris. Now you are RB one. We'll see if
you could carry on being RB one. Give me the
(01:32:46):
charges here and I think this game could be by
ten points. They covered this three very easily. No chance
give me the Raiders no quarterback. I understand that they're
gonna run the ball, run it effectively. Jim Harball will
be better going down the line, and then he will
be in Week one.
Speaker 3 (01:33:01):
But I do not expect this team right now in
Los Angeles to hit the ground running. I think the
Raiders who are going to be, don't get me wrong, terrible.
Keep this one close, all right.
Speaker 5 (01:33:10):
This is the biggest spread of the weekend. It's seven
and a half. It's Patriots versus Bengals. I think you
guys know who's favorite here. The Bengals are favored by
seven and a half points.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Who you got, ah, man.
Speaker 4 (01:33:21):
This is really this is really testy because this Jamar Dustin, Yeah,
Jamar Chase just hasn't been there. The Bengals have had
some issues. I think the Patriots and the Titans are
the two worst teams in the league. They're both people
will be drafting early. They have their quarterback New England does.
I think the Titans will try to find theirs next year.
But something just tells me the Patriots play tough defense,
(01:33:42):
holds up. The Bengals always seem to kind of get
going slow and have slow starts, and I think they
have slow starts tomorrow. I'll take the Patriots that comes.
I think the Bengals win this game, but don't be
surprised if you cut this game on in the third quarter.
With the six minute mark, and it's like, you know,
thirteen ten or seventeen fourteen or seventeen tens to thirteen
tens fourteen ten, something like that. It's gonna be in
that range. I don't see a planthrow of. I don't
(01:34:03):
see a high scoring game. I see a defensive match
up here. I think they keep it close, but I
think the Begals win. But give me them to cover
the seven, see VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
I would be surprised if you name those scores off
and here's the reason why. That means the Patriots would
have had to score everyone that you lifted. That means
the Patriots would have had to score more than once.
I do not see that happening to me. This is
about can Cincinnati get to twenty points. In Cincinnati can
get to twenty points, they'll cover the seven and a
half and eight and a half and nine and a
half because the Patriots will not crack seven.
Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
They will have two field goals equaling six or one touchdown.
That will be that. Give me Joe Burrow and Sneaky
Trenton Irwin.
Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
Look at his numbers every year every game Jabar Chase
missus Trent number goes off what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
It's a little over the slot receiver. Isn't Higgins out tomorrow?
Speaker 9 (01:34:49):
So I think he is out.
Speaker 4 (01:34:52):
He's at least doubtful. I saw doubtful last night, so
I'm figuring today. Normally, if he gets to doubtful by
Friday and it's not questionable Saturday, catch you next week.
Speaker 9 (01:35:01):
Yeah, we're not reporting that as news.
Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
Yeah, absolutely absolutely, all right, those are the picks for
a week. Why we will track these and have a
week a season long competition see how everything goes. Right now,
we have some college football teams on the ropes, ranked
teams everywhere struggling.
Speaker 2 (01:35:19):
We'll get to that coming up just a moment.
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
You know, let's looking at this, uh, the end of
the Goat era looks like it's not getting off to
the best start.
Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
We'll get to that coming up next.
Speaker 3 (01:35:29):
Martin Weiss Beata Husky, Fox Sports Football Saturday VJ. It
is a twenty five point margin right now between the
Nebraska corn Huskers and the Colorado Buffalos. Coach Pran putting
the headset back on. But I don't think that's gonna
help too much. Right now, is Dylan Royola been walking
these boys down?
Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
You're about to add to this. Oh, that was nice.
Speaker 3 (01:35:53):
Dylan Royola right now putting on a clinic. Travis Hunter's
played well, Chador's played okay at.
Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
A terrible pick six.
Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
But like this team is, this is worse than it
was last year. If they lose this game like this now,
one thing I would say about the defense. They've shut
him out in the second half. They're twenty twenty nine
at the half, so but they their offense, their line
has not improved and should do her once again, I
love to do. But he runs backwards so much. It's
(01:36:20):
crazy how when he feels pressure he doesn't slide left
or right.
Speaker 2 (01:36:24):
He back pedals.
Speaker 3 (01:36:26):
And it's surprising with all the connections that his great
father has and all the famous coaches and helpers that
are the toos down there helping out Travis Hunter.
Speaker 4 (01:36:35):
Your defensive line or whatever his title. I know he's
not the defense line coach. He has a certain title
I can't remember. Warren sapp is down there now.
Speaker 3 (01:36:42):
You can't find one quarterback guru that will work with
your son in the off season and teach him how
to line pockets move in the pocket. He's working with
Tom freaking Brady.
Speaker 2 (01:36:53):
Oh I didn't know that with Brady, Yes, I didn't
know that. That's body. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:36:58):
But the thing is, though he's on the Kendrick Lamar
plan right now. Run run run run, run for your life. Yeah,
Delon's that's all he can do. Alon's horrible.
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
That's all he can do.
Speaker 4 (01:37:08):
And I thought they fixed this. They brought in a
guy from the portal. They just signed a five They
signed a five star freshman freshman last year. Yeah, man,
you would think this stuff, you know, would be done,
but it's starting to just look like the whole CEO thing.
I know it's popular to say that it was cool,
and a lot of people, including myself, did agree with
it at a point, but the head coach needs to
(01:37:30):
still have his hands on football, not just kind of
delegate everything and oversee.
Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
I feel Andy Reid is the perfect example. Like he's
still he calls the plays, he's got the big sheet with.
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
All the right and on it. He's still the guy.
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
Because last year I was in narrative there it was
Dion's the CEO, and he needs to get better people
in place around him.
Speaker 2 (01:37:53):
But how you still are the head coach? You still
got a coach?
Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
No, there's no doubt about that, but I disagree that
the CEO head coach to me is my preferred model.
Speaker 2 (01:38:02):
The problem is but still coaching though, right, not just delegating.
Speaker 3 (01:38:07):
No, But what you do is as a head coach,
what I think that guys like John Harball, for example,
got to cats. I know I'm mixing, I know I'm
mixing pros and coe. Just give John Harball for example.
You hire guys to do those jobs and then empower
them to do them the better example. And I know
this is obviously the pinnacle of the sport, but look
(01:38:28):
at college football, Nick Saban. Nick Saban's not calling the
down the down by down play, But what Nick Saban
is saying, Look, you know what Nick Saban is is
is in a situation where the other team just had
a long and long ass drive, they scored ten points.
Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
You go three and out, then they score another another touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
You know, uh, Now that you're down ten and your
defense has been on the field the entire time, Nick
Sabe is gonna go too, offensive coordinator and say, don't
you dare throw the.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
Ball three times in a while?
Speaker 3 (01:38:58):
Keep us on the field, right, Nick Sabe is gonna
go to this defensive coordinator and say, hey, spy the quarterback,
do whatever you're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
But spy the quarterback, I do run man match here.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
It's more giving examples and giving guidelines than it is
actually doing the work of calling the plays. But the
thing is, you got to hire the right people and
empower those people to make the right decision. I still
want my coach to call something I do.
Speaker 4 (01:39:20):
I still want to get what you're saying, but just
me personally, I still want my coach my Now that
I'm coaching JV and now been moved up. Also, I
helped coach varsity football, I have dreams of man, I
want my own varsity program one day.
Speaker 5 (01:39:34):
I do.
Speaker 2 (01:39:35):
I I've already started looking.
Speaker 4 (01:39:36):
I've already started looking at two bad programs around the
valley and who might be getting fired sometime soon.
Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
I've really started that research.
Speaker 4 (01:39:43):
But I, like you said, I will try my best
to put together the best staff I possibly can and
empower them to do their job. But as the head coach,
there's something I still have got to call. It's either
gonna be defense or is gonna be offens. I still
have to have a part of the ball and game
plan in my hands, where I'm saying trip's right, two
(01:40:07):
forty four angle, I'm calling in to play like I can't.
Speaker 2 (01:40:11):
I got the high school level. Sure, even in the NFL,
you got this.
Speaker 3 (01:40:14):
This guy getting paid millions of dollars to figure this
out with a lot of But okay, who you think
of the offense for the Dolphins, Mike McDaniel does? Who
comes the office for the Niners Kyle Shanahan and how
many super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
How many playoffs? With McDaniel doesn't He doesn't. Okay, he
doesn't have that doesn't look at if he stops calling?
Would he go in the Super Bowl?
Speaker 11 (01:40:31):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
If he stopped and he stops calling, baby, pay more
to the rest of the games, now, risk of the game.
You gotta be involved in every asp. I think these
coaches are good enough. They're involved in every aspect with Dion,
and I just want to make sure we just stink
it to him. I would like to see Dion take
on a role which, oh my god, I'm sorry, quick
sidebar catch it the day Marshall against Virginia Tech Christian Fitzpatrick.
Speaker 2 (01:40:53):
If you haven't watched this yet, go YouTube and go
look it up. On Twitter. That was beautiful right there.
Speaker 4 (01:40:59):
But yeah, I would just like to see Deonta more
of a coaching role in game than what I see
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
That's all. Yeah, I think you just got to Impacre.
I mean the coaching role.
Speaker 3 (01:41:10):
He needs to be doing his recruiting and getting some
of those big uglies in the front translit portal doesn't
look like it's working. We've got to Marj Morris MLB
bro Content Report will go around the horn with him
coming up next, but first we'll cut to Steve the saga, Steve,
we are fired.
Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
There, we are all right, Steve Calli.
Speaker 12 (01:41:32):
At fourth rank Alabama a touchdown on the fourth for
the Tide. The lead is twenty one to thirteen over
South Florida with about eight minutes to go, but the
Bulls are driving a third and goal.
Speaker 9 (01:41:44):

the aline I beat number nineteen Kansas twenty three to seventeen.
Iowa State with a comeback win at number twenty one
Iowa twenty to nineteen thanks to a late fifty four
yard field goal. Syracuse beat Georgia Tech thirty one twenty eight.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love could miss three to six weeks
(01:43:31):
with a sprain. MCL Number two Arena Sablenca won the
US Open final in the WNBA. Chicago rookie Angel Rees
is out for the year with a wrist injury. To baseball,
the Yankees are now in first place again in the
AL East half game ahead of the Orioles. Yankees won
two to nothing at the Cubs today, while Baltimore lost
at home seven to one to Tampa Bay. Miami end
(01:43:53):
at Philadelphia's six game winning streak, beating pitcher Aaron Nola
and the Fils nine to five.
Speaker 9 (01:43:58):
The Mets have won nine in a row.
Speaker 12 (01:44:00):
They shut out Cincinnati four to nothing, while Atlanta was
beaten at home nine to five by Toronto, so the
Mets are no longer tied with the Braves for the
final NL Wildcards bought Mets a game up. Houston beat
Arizona eleven to five. Seattle has been shut out to
nothing at Saint Louis on a two run home or
bottom of the eighth. The game on Fox TV for
much of the country tonight had Kansas City with four
(01:44:22):
runs in the bottom of the eighth, beating Minnesota four
to two. Meanwhile, the first place team in that al
Central Cleveland, gave up six runs to the Dodgers in
the first inning. It is now Dodgers six to two
over Cleveland in the bottom of the fourth. Giants lead
four to three at the Padres in the top of
the eighth inning, and Milwaukee has won, beating Colorado five
to two. Colorado Rockies have a record of fifty three
(01:44:45):
and ninety this season, and just in the last five games,
the Rockies have struck out seventy five times.
Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
Back to you, Wow, goodness, gracious good what are they blindfolded?
What the hell you gotta beat chin?
Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
Speaking of strikeouts, let's go ahead and hit a home
run with our next guest, the Marja Morris, MLB bro
content reporter, Themarje.
Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
We're coming to you a line from the tiraq dot
com studios. How are you, my friend?
Speaker 11 (01:45:12):
What's going on? What's going on?
Speaker 5 (01:45:13):
I'm good?
Speaker 2 (01:45:13):
How you doing enjoying this football Saturday?
Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
Even though you know we're gonna take a second here
and go ahead and dive in to the diamond, the Marjah?
Speaker 2 (01:45:25):
What is it one hundred and eleven that we have
for the White Sox right now? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
Do you think the White Sox? I mean, how far
passed one hundred and twenty losses? Do you think the
Chicago White Sox will get as a warm up question?
Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
Most ever? Huh? So they break the record for most
ever without clear it easily.
Speaker 11 (01:45:48):
It's looking like it, man, man, Yeah, it's looking like.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
You, Demarja. You said us some questions. Man, But I'm
taking right turn because I've been watching my Rangers lately.
Speaker 3 (01:45:58):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:45:58):
I remember about a month ago you told me pack
it in and just enjoyed the ring.
Speaker 4 (01:46:03):
But then I look up seven and three in our
last ten, seven and a half out of the wildcard,
eight and a half out of first place. For a
divisional crowd with nineteen games to go, all right, damar
Jay give it to me.
Speaker 3 (01:46:15):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
Can I get a little excited and pay attention a
little more? Or should I still just enjoy my World
Series from last year and just packing it and let
it go.
Speaker 11 (01:46:24):
I mean the bats of walking up a little bit.
So that has to get you excited, because you guys
do got bet. You guys do got some players in
that lineup. For some reason, it just hasn't materialized to
as many wins as it should. I know, you guys
made it as a wildcard last year, so probably shouldn't
have expected too much this season. But yeah, you guys
be all right. Man, you guys got that young kid Lighter.
That pitching is a lot better. Yeah, you Baldi, Yeah,
(01:46:46):
I like Lighter. He's nice. I like him. Your Baldi's
been bolding and you know, still some injuries in that rotation,
but yeah, the offense can keep it going, you know, definitely,
you guys have a shot to get in there.
Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
Just beat up and just beat up on the Yankees
and beat up on yeah Angels a little bit toon.
Speaker 11 (01:47:02):
Yeah, you know, and I got I love Siegers, Tommy,
you know, I think they're they're a dope duo, dangerous duo.
So obviously they got to be the ones to lead.
Speaker 3 (01:47:09):
The charge, you know, so absolutely, Look we had vent
Too's walk off homer last night.
Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
Tonight, the Mets win nine. They're ninth straight.
Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
Mets on a streak that has Jason Smith, I'm sure
doing backlips and car wheels, DeMar j what are you saying?
Speaker 2 (01:47:23):
The New York Metropolitans.
Speaker 11 (01:47:26):
Man, the same thing with the Rangers, the bats Man.
There's a fifty three and twenty nine since June second.
That's the best record I think with the Diamondbacks. So
they've definitely been involving the pitching. Though. The pitching Sean
Manet has been going crazy. I love what he's been doing. Peterson,
he saw it almost every time he steps on the nown.
Sever Reno has been you know, sever Reno has been
decent too. But yeah, mainly the Bats, you know, mainly
(01:47:47):
the Bats for sure, and then Door you gotta give
then Doris, he's playing like the MVP. So uh yeah, yeah,
the metsa dangerous for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
I look through it the.
Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
NL man and there's some teams that are still alive. Man,
But I tell me who you're off of and you
don't think they'll make the postseason. You got the Braves,
the Cars, the Cubbies, the Giants. I think the Reds
are a little out over it at ten and a half.
But who do you look at and you go, I'm
off of them, man, I don't care what happens. They're
not making the postseason.
Speaker 11 (01:48:15):
From the NL, you had it with your first pick,
it was it's the Braves. Really was my pick too, Yeah,
that was my pick to win the World Series. There's
just too many bad things going on at once. They're
just not showing you any signs of all the injuries,
the players that are injured. Albi Zacuna, Riley goes down.
He was already having a, you know, a down season
(01:48:36):
compared to last season. Him and Olsin, you know, both
of them, you know, down production from last year. Didn't
expect them to do exactly what they did last year.
But Riley went from fifty something home runs to about
twenty five twenty six, you know, still not bad, but
that's a big dip. The pitching. Only reliable picture is
Chris Lee. You know, Charlie Morton. He'll give you a
good start here and there, but only really reliable. Only
(01:48:56):
really reliable pictures, Chris l So there's just too many
things just going on once. I just don't like what
I'm seeing.
Speaker 2 (01:49:02):
De marj.
Speaker 3 (01:49:03):
We got obviously the year winding down now, so time
to take a look at some of these ends of
the season awards.
Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
Tell me, what do you think the Rookie of the
Year is.
Speaker 11 (01:49:11):
Al and donel and unlikely an unlikely winner probably. I
like Austin Wells. I like Austin Wills going for the Yankees. Yeah,
when he's catching, you know, forty nine point two strike rate,
it's the third best in the league. You know, just
it's unlikely that he's going to win it because his
three shows this is mainly you know, an outfield or award.
(01:49:31):
Twenty four outfit is a win and compared to seventeen pitchers,
seventeen short stop so it's very unlikely. Only three catches
at oney in the American League, so very unlikely he'll
get it. So Coldin Calzer will probably hold on. But
I'll have to go to Austin Wills for American League
and the National League. I gotta go Jackson Cherio man,
I think what he's doing ever since No Ska Yellow
went down, Ever since Christian Yeller went down. I think
(01:49:53):
it's been impressive that he's been able to sustain his production.
I think he even stepped up his game when Yellow
twent down, and he's a huge reason why they're, you know,
still cruising. Second best batting average in the league at all,
the Brickies, second in RBI. So I gotta go Jackson Chario,
but I know Jackson Merrill is the leader, but yeah,
I like Cherio.
Speaker 2 (01:50:11):
Right now, we're talking to Duan J.
Speaker 4 (01:50:12):
Moore's MLB bro content reporter right now on Fox Football
Saturday with Martin and VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:50:17):
All Right, man, let's stay out here. Let's come out
here at Los angele lease, because we thought the Padres.
Speaker 4 (01:50:22):
Was going to catch the Dodges man and right now
sitting it for behind them, Like I said, nineteen twenty
games to go, did they exert too much anyth Like
in basketball, right when the team's down twenty plus and
you climb back within four and three, but you just
can't get over the hump because you exerted so much
energy just to get it back that close. Is that
what we're saying with the Padres or do they got
(01:50:44):
one more shot at them?
Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
They catch the door Yers as they.
Speaker 11 (01:50:47):
Say it out here in LA I think they got
one more shot, just because they have been playing their
best baseball, you know, these last couple of months. So
I'll give them a shot to catch them. They got
a good shot.
Speaker 9 (01:50:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:50:58):
I like the project. Know they got Muscom back. They
got some guys back, so that helps Darvish's back. You know,
Tatis came back too long ago, so yeah, they you know,
they're getting things in order, so it should be all right.
Speaker 3 (01:51:10):
All right, that's damar Jay Morris. He's getting everything in order.
Tomor Jay, thank you for coming on this show today.
Speaker 2 (01:51:16):
I know, oh you a text. I'll text you back
at just a moment.
Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
I'm sorry, but a lot of stuff going on, Demorjay,
thanks for coming on. I'm bad about the Fantasy League.
I'm boycott this year, Homie, my fun. I forgot to
tell you. I feel like that's a conversation that we
should have. In another segment coming up next, we will
go around the scoreboard of college football some interesting results.
(01:51:40):
Right now, as the clock is winding down towards the
triple zero's at the end of the fourth quarter, BJ,
let's go ahead and do this one like Northern Illinois
coach after he won and beat Notre Dame on the road.
Speaker 2 (01:51:52):
All right you ready? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:52:39):

ranked one through twenty five. We'll get to some of
those coming up next. Martin and Jay on the Fox
Sports Football Saturday Martin Videre coming to your line from
the tyreck dot Com studios. Keeping the seats warm for
Aaron Torres and Jason Martin. They'll be up in just
(01:53:00):
a moment.
Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
VJ. We got some tweets.
Speaker 3 (01:53:04):
Hammer and Hank says, my guy, who do you guys
think will pull off the biggest upset of Week one
in the new NFL season.
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
Here's his prediction.
Speaker 3 (01:53:14):
The New York Jets upset the Whiners thirty to twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
Wow, I don't know about that one, man, I'm not
a I don't know about that one. No, I don't
know about that one. Well, who do you think is
the biggest upset? If the Patriots win themarro that would
be the biggest stuff the Patriots, And the question is
if the Pictures win them all, that's the biggest. But
who do you think will be is the question? Do
(01:53:40):
you think at the Patriots? No, no, no, no to me.
To me, it would be if Carolina can go into
New Orleans and get that done. I see that. I
raise you the Cardinals, the Cardinals seven point underdogs. But
also to that Carolina, they won what how many games
lest year? Three? Yeah? Three? Total? Two? I believe I
think only two games last year.
Speaker 3 (01:54:01):
So to go out and get a win Week one,
literally getting half of the win total from the year before.
Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
That'll be big.
Speaker 3 (01:54:07):
Do you guys think the White Sox will do a
complete rebuild next year now that they will probably break
the MLB record for most losses in a single season.
Speaker 2 (01:54:18):
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so.
Speaker 3 (01:54:22):
Yeah, I think yeah, I think so. I think that's
a safe bet. Speaking of though rebuild, the Oregon Ducks
were favorites.
Speaker 2 (01:54:32):
Yeh, heavy, I mean big time.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
Championship favorite picks by US talking heads in the media.
Struggled yesterday or last week, I should say, with the
Idaho Vandals and.
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
Now only with a four point lead, seven to three
over Boise State.
Speaker 3 (01:54:51):
And I'm here to tell you if you don't already know,
Boise State has the best running back in the country.
Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
Now he's good, I don't know if he's the best
running back.
Speaker 4 (01:55:00):
It a few more weeks before I start trying to
find my best quarterback, best receivering bet.
Speaker 2 (01:55:04):
He runs through this Oregon, Yeah, well hopefully so.
Speaker 4 (01:55:07):
Just shake things up. I mean, we've already had a
couple of shakeups today, so why not have another one.
Alabama's gonna go on and get their dub.
Speaker 2 (01:55:12):
They've scored hard fought though, yep, They've scored again though,
but heart fault for a second year in a row,
So I do I do feel that again Oregon could
pull this went off, but I don't mind a couple
of upsets with the twelve team playoff.
Speaker 4 (01:55:26):
Here's the theme, Marin, with the twelve tween playoff. That's
why today, even a Michigan fan, it doesn't like I'm
not heard. I'm not upset, I'm not sad like I'm
truly not. It's September. We haven't even got to my
birthday yet, we ain't even to the middle of the month.
Speaker 2 (01:55:40):
So it's it's a lost early. But we talked last week.
Speaker 3 (01:55:43):
Two losses gets you into the uh get you into
the College Fotball Playoff?
Speaker 2 (01:55:47):
Sorry boom, Michigan already got one. Not the name has
already got one. Like teams, I've already got one.
Speaker 3 (01:55:52):
And I was just talking to Torres in the hallway
before he comes on next with Jason Smith. Is that
I really look at excuse me, Jason Martin, Jason Martin,
but I really look at the landscape. Give me Georgia,
give me Texas, and give me Ohio. Is probably the
teams that look the most complete. I'll have to see
Georgia again because Clemson's so bad. But if I'm just
looking at the tape and then looking at foreseeable future,
(01:56:13):
the games they're gonna be playing, the teams they're gonna
be matched up against, those three teams, I can probably say, Look,
one of those three teams is probably gonna win a
national championship.
Speaker 2 (01:56:21):
It definitely isn't gonna be number eleven or number ten.
Speaker 4 (01:56:25):
That's not happening. Okay, it's gonna be one of those
top three teams. I think end at all too. And
right now we're getting clout Wolde, not you, but everybody
knows how I feel about coach Prime. I'm getting just
lam based on Twitter right now.
Speaker 2 (01:56:38):
This was expected for.
Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
Me, Tony Tony Calvin here is that Colorado is cooked
and promise about the boat after the season, win Shador
and Hunter head to the NFL. I got a little
prediction here where Prime should coach next, because you can
ask Bernie Frado this and Arnie Spaniard, I was the
first guy on radio to say Colorado before Colorado was even.
Speaker 2 (01:57:00):
For coach part when he's still at Jackson State.
Speaker 4 (01:57:03):
What do you think about Dion if he does leave
here and if things go south in Gainesville this year,
oh way.
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Why not? Because he's getting his ass kicked to Colorado.
Speaker 4 (01:57:14):
You think that's gonna stop another program from thinking that
he could come make them better?
Speaker 2 (01:57:18):
Who gets better recruits? Colorado of Florida? Who gets who
gets better recruits?
Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
So he's gonna get better kids, better facilities, bigger school,
bigger program, bigger history.
Speaker 4 (01:57:28):
It's home state he didn't get. He gets a chance
to go. Tell Florida State. Yeah, you should have brought
me on that. They went thirteen to o last year.
But it don't look good this year. I was so,
you said, Florida to Florida, Florida State, No, no, I
know the Gators games games. They're not firing novel after
this year for the D season. If they go bad
this year, Florida State is not firing a coach.
Speaker 2 (01:57:47):
But uh a, Nate Pier he's good as going. He's done.
Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
I think that Lane Kiffin will be the next coach
at Florida they go miss, I think that Lane. I
think that Lane Kiffin will be the next coach.
Speaker 4 (01:58:00):
What if they get to like big time bag, what
if they get to the final if what if Ole
miss gets to the final four.
Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
I don't think that will happen. Think they'll get to
the summer.
Speaker 3 (01:58:10):
I think that will I think they will just miss
the playoff or if not qualified to be one of
the six and then end up losing, and then Florida
will will spend a ungodly amount of money to get
him up out of Olden HM. I like Prime's name there,
but why Deon Sanders has shown absolutely nothing on in
(01:58:32):
the in in Division one A college football, the highest
level of college football, to show that he is a
good coach at this level.
Speaker 4 (01:58:40):
But like I say, that's not the point I'm making.
The point I'm making is there will be some a
D somewhere, and I think Florida's the tight once again
home state guy. We get better here for yeah, yeah,
you know what, coach Prime. We know things didn't go
well in Boulder, but let me tell you something. We
get better athletes here. You know this state better than anybody.
We get better athletes here. We have better facilities, we
(01:59:01):
have better rich history, we national championships. Howsmy trophy winners?
Speaker 2 (01:59:05):
You could come? Will?
Speaker 4 (01:59:06):
Will you talk about a bag the attention that Prime
will bring to the University of Florida. I'm just throwing
it out there if he leaves, there's no guarantees leaving.
I'm just responding to this tweet where guy thinks that, hey,
after this year, he's gone.
Speaker 3 (01:59:20):
I I and to be excited about Deon Sanders coming
into my program. I'd like to see at least one
winning season prior to at the highest level in college football,
but right now we're at the highest level in radio.
Speaker 2 (01:59:32):
That's Aeron Torres and Jason Martin up next.
