that was bothersome to me to us earlier about our
rundown today where he actually thought to even say to us,

if you and Martin want to avoid Michigan in Texas
as if we can't take ls now. I know we've
been dominant in college football the last three years, especially
going undefeated and winning the national championship. Wrong SoundBite, winning
the national championship last year, and everybody today that Martin
was the day that everybody that's not a Michigan fan

are doesn't like harball with sitting and baited breath waiting
for Michigan to lo.

Well, but guess what what it looks like without Connor
Stallions is going up to Penn State whooping that ass,
and then going to Maryland and whooping that ass, and
then going to Ohio State beating them to three years
in a row, and then winning the national championship game,
beating Nick Sabant, beating in Washington. That's what it looks
like without Connor Stallions. We have their team players that
are suiting up tomorrow in the NFL that were drafted

last year. Okay, there's a lot of talent left that
it's not the takeaway from Texas Texas looked pretty damn
good today. They have a legitimate quarterback. It looks like Sark,
Mike get the Monkey office back. They got a good team,
They got a veteran offensive line, and Joe Klatt said
something that was almost perfectly said. He said, this reminds
me of what Michigan looked like last year. They have

all veteran, big offensive linemen that are gonna get drafted.
They have a veteran NFL caliber quarterback, they have NFL
caliber running back, they have skill position players and have
a really good defense. And it got a really great coach.
So it looks like what Michigan looked like last year.
Michigan wasn't favored to win the game today. Some things
I saw though, And the one thing I'll point out

to is the quarterback position.

I'm thoroughly upset not a just Sheron More, but at
alex Orgy. Alex Orgie is a kid that I followed
in high school, and when we signed him, I was
excited about him because he's so big six four six

we just find not Cam Newton but a Cam Newton
type of player that you can get behind?

Well, those measurements you're looking at, and these are the
top of the tops. But you like that Cam Newton,
Josh Allen, you know what I'm saying those Anthony Richardson,
She's big, hulking linebacker, Quarterballan Milrow, right, that looks like
a lineback. He looks like a linebacker, but he plays
quarterback and even today running the ball, bad decision making

on the RPOs, running into defenders, not finding a hole,
just thinking he can lower his shoulder and just run through.

This is Texas, homeboy. They got NFL guys. They got
what we call dudes.

In this business and when you're in the football world,
they got guys.

This isn't Wisconsin, this isn't Minnesota, this isn't Indiana, this
isn't Illinois. This was a national contender, the number third
rate team in the nation coming in today, and Michigan
has quarterback problems. That's not gonna change all year long
because neither one of these guys are gonna get any better.
Michigan would be looking at two maybe three losses after
what I saw today and last week. That's where I

would go with it with Michigan. But hats off to
Texas man. Good winning your favorite. You went in there,
you whooped. That's like you're supposed to do when you
got opponent down. They kicked them and kicked them and
kicked them. It's something Michigan to get up and they
didn't today. And I can eat that as a fan.
So congrats to Texas. But Michigan's got quarterback issues.

So here's the thing, Michigan didn't You know, Michigan lost
Connor Stalles.

That's why they lost.

They also graduated eighteen seniors, right, and eighteen seniors who
were making plays Mikey Sanders, Drull, JJ McCarthy, Blake corm right, Glasgow,
this offensive Lineman right like these like that.

That's why part of the.

Reason why last year quote unquote was the last dance
because everybody was graduating.

It was leaving that whole that that class was graduating.

But I will say this, and I think it's more
of an indictment on Jim Harball than it is on
Sharon Moore, even though Sharon Moore is the one dealing
with it.

In the era of the transfer portal, there's no excuse
to not have a quarterback there's no excuse to not
have a quarter I agree with that. There's one thing.
It's one thing. If you went out and you tried
and it didn't work out. Riley Leonard, I thought he
would be I think he's a really good college quarterback.

He played terrible today for terrible for not to name.

But you know what, you can't say that, No to
Dame didn't try to do improve the quarterback position. Right
the year before that, Notre Dame, Sam Hartman, Right, Okay,
look at the teams football playoff last year. Michael Pennix transfer,
quinn Ewers transfer, right.

if you have to quarterbacks that aren't good, and one
of them is six and they're both like six three
six four two twenty, but one of them runs like
a running back and the other one doesn't you play

the one that runs. Now, on the Texas side of things,
this is a team like Michigan. This is a team
like Michigan's, like TCU last year. They've lost a ton
of people, lost a ton of talent. But Texas walked
into ann Arbor and beaten Michigan the way that Michigan
had been you said it, the way that Michigan had
been beating people up front.

The demoralization from moving grown men against their will is
why Texas won that game.

Quinn Ewers wasn't spectacular. No, No, he played good. He
wasn't he want spectacleic like well.

You know, let's say, hypothetically speaking, he's there in New
York at the end of this for the Heisman ceremony.
There will be no highlights from this game, right, there
will be no highlights from this game in that highlight package,
but the way that Michigan got pushed around up front
and the way that Michigan was on disciplined a lot
of these penalties that lived. That gave me a big

cause for concern on the week by week, day by
day planning in preparation for this team. But Texas, I
think this is might be the best Texas team that
we have seen since Vincio.

They could not I'm with you there since vy And
they mentioned that today one forty three to eighty was
the rushing today and that just doesn't happen to Michigan.
When it happens to Michigan, this is when you know, Okay,
they don't, they don't. There's some something's there's something's a myth.
And the defense today just seemed like they were in position,
but not in position like you can see a guy

Yeah, no, they did.

They did play well enough to win, but we also
had there were also a few drives where third down
they completed I think seven of their first eight third
downs eight for their first ten. You as a defense,
that's on you, whether you have a quarterback or not.
Your stat of third down defensive percentage is on you.
That's got nothing to do with the offense. That's got

nothing to do with the quarterback. And they converted eight
of their first ten. That's on you. And then also
something else Michigan's been doing lately. I would like to
see them change. We've been able to rotate guys. There's
been a rule if you guys don't know, Michigan was
not playing their defensive lineman more than twenty five to
twenty seven plays a game that included Aiden Hutchinson.

They were rotating guys in because they had so many guys.
They don't have that now. And when I'm watching Grant
and Graham go off the field and now you're playing
guys that they've got some playing time. But so did
Grant and Graham when they start first getting playing time.
But you see what they've developed into. There's not a
kid backing those two guys up that's gonna turn into
those two guys. So when you take those two guys

off the field in a game like today and you
were getting in Sark season, he's a great offensive mine.
He starts running right at where you just put the
fresh guys in that don't have the experience. They need
to change the philosophy and go to both those guys
and say, hey, look for our defense to hold up
the way it needs to. We have to kind of

I need you in the A gap, I need you
in the B gap, and we'll just flip your guys

can run on this. But once again, they weren't favored
to win today. So Texas did what they were supposed
to do. You have an opponent you're supposed to beat,
Go beat them and don't make no damn apologies about it,
and tell them about it while you're doing it. That

doesn't offend me as a fan. Hey, we took an
l to day. It's all good, but there are some issues.
I think they need to fix last one too. I
just he's not the ball carrier I'm used to seeing
at Michigan. I come from a long line of watching
Michigan running backs Donovan Edwards just seeing he fit perfectly
as a backup I just can't see.

that he does it setting up, taking enough time to
set up his blocks. But ultimately, when your quarterback can't
complete a five yard pass.

Well, not only you have to run, but I have
trouble blaming the running back, you know what I'm saying,
Like I have trouble blaming the running because it's not
open there. There's literally there's there's eleven guys in the
box when you play Michigan right now. There's eleven guys

think about last week. If Will Johns didn't pick six,
that ball would have been a one score game Fresno

Yeah, I just thought today was just a microcosm of
what Nordon Dame has been recently. If you even go
back and look at that game last week, they Texas
A and M pretty much handed them that game. They
could be zero to two right now, but to lose
it home to Northern Illinois and have your quarterback turn
the ball over and they drive right down the first
drive of the game.

Touchdown, and it feels like, okay, here's they got the
big win in College Station and now they're home opening
home game. Yeah, they might walk through this, but the
more you're watching this game, it's like, wow, they're not
winning really up front, and wow, the running back broke
a wrong run on them and their long run running
back hurdle the guy to go score their touchdown and
that's been pretty much the offense.

But once again, quarterback play.

If you do not have a quarterback, you have zero
shot and a competent quarterback and one can't throw two
picks home game. I feel sorry honestly for Freeman because
I do believe they're gonna end up firing them.

This year is a making a breaking yeah exactly, And
obviously this is not the way to start. They making
to break it year. But like I said, I fully
believe they go undefeated for US away. They're in the plug.

depends on how far they fall out right now, because
that that's big to lose the Northern Illinois home. They
can fall out of the top twenty. But then I
don't think that. I don't think they climb back, even
if they win the rest of their games, I don't
think they climb back to twelve.

If there's anything I've known about big time college football,
it's that they always make sure that they're both to

Yes, right now the NFC, I feel like the best
quarterback and best team is just kind of just up
for grabs right now. And I think that right now
the Detroit Lions have an opportunity to go ahead and
grab it. The Rams come to town? Was that Sunday
night football? Rams Lions? Matthew Stafford back in Detroit, Jared Golf.
This is a playoff matchup last year in the wildcard round,

same place. We'll see if the Lions would like to
have the same result as they would head and beat
that Rams team. What do you think happens tomorrow? And
also what do you think would be a successful season
for the Lions who are dealing with something that they've
never really dealt with before, and that's expectations.

I'll start with the Lions as far as their expectations
and what would be a successful season. I think you
got to get back to the conference championship game because
that's where you were, and you were up, like you
were on the cusp a going to the Super Bowl
to play for Lombardi Trophy, and you play for the
Detroit Lions.

That was monumental.

It can't go backwards because then people will say last
year was a fluke. So like they get say the
good at wad Cart and lose a wildcard game at home,
We'll never look back on the twenty three season like
it was real.

have injuries. All their main guys were healthy most of
the year. The division sucked, the Fair sucked, the Vikers
run the five hundred.

They didn't have Justin Jefferson for eight weeks.

Kirk Cousins bloout his achilles, he was done by week four,
Week five. They got lucky that year. That will be
the narrative. So I think they got to get back
to the conference championship. As far as tomorrow's game go,
I'm really excited for this game because you just don't
know what you're gonna get opening weekend, because preseason doesn't
mean anything anymore, so you can't take nothing from preseason,
which I've learned from Martin and I've learned from Steve

watch a little bit, but don't put too much time
into don't be vj the last twenty years of my life.

two years for your body to get all the way
back because you're always h what's the word compensating for
the injury, so you can you have some nagging things
on the left side if you tore the right achilles
and things of that nature. So but he will be

might look at this is this could be like my
last real season of having a shot.

I think maybe the pressure is more on Detroit to
come out and win a home game after getting to
the conference Championshigain.

I think they'll be fine this year. Did they win

I like even twelve maybe thirteen wins for them, But
I think the Rams going there and and redeem what
happened to them in a while.

That's part of the reason why the pressure is on
Detroit is because of what we heard the last time
we saw Detroit.

When you're team like the Detroit Lions, who saw success

have the team to me that can be the top

of the AFC, a NFC. The Lions have a team
to meet right now, especially with Jordan Love down for
three or four weeks or I'm sure Steve, the saga
will stay after that game in Brazil where you are
now in the driver's seat for the division and you
did not even play a game. If the Lions aren't
the ceiling for the Lions, it's super Bowl or bust

We rarely see Leamar getting tackle that much lower his shoulder,
rarely see Leabar gt tackle that.

That's the other archetype. And the one in the middle
is Josh Allen. What do you mean, Martin, Josh Allen's

Allen has the ability to move around the pocket and
scramble for both to extend the pass and go get
yards with his legs.
