Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, living the dream
on another fully loaded sports Saturday. This is Fox Football Saturday,
and we're broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot com
studios ti iraq dot com. We're gonna help get you
there and a match selection, fast reshipping free road as
a protection over ten thousand recommended installers ti iraq dot

(00:22):
com the way tire buying should be. Well, we have
another very very busy day in sports. A lot of
college football going on right now. By the way, Penn
State down twenty to six at halftime on the road
against USC has tied up that game, so about five
minutes to go in the third quarter, all tied up.
Number four ranked Penn State on the road against USC

(00:44):
well MONTCI. We are now set with the final four
in the baseball playoffs after the Guardians were able to
get the win today. Obviously, you're going against the best
pitcher in the American League who seemed to be sailing along,
and then that hit better. Jose Ramirez gets hit with
the bases loaded to tie the game at one, and
then the next pitch grand slam and it is over.

(01:07):
Thomas delivers and the Guardians move on. So we have
the one seed the Yankees, the two seeded Guardians in
the America League, and of course the one seed Dodgers
versus the six seed Mets. And what's significant over the
last couple of years when they made the wildcard to
two out of three, is that the wildcards have been dominant.
Last year, remember we had a five seed versus a
six seed in the World Series. That doesn't look like

(01:30):
the case right now. So the favorite teams wasn't easy.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Was not easy.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
But the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Survive, the Guardians survive, and Yankees move on. And so
the only wildcard team left are the red hot New
York Mets.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Watching the Tigers Guardians at the same time as watching
Alabama and South Carolina was a lot of fun going
back and forth between the two games.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Alabama had lost that game Holy.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Mo, which I'm sure we'll get to because you have
your Heisman. But I'm sure we'll get to that. But
you know, well, Carrie, give it up to Carry.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Carpenter, who could not run to first base. He had
a little bit of a of a Gibson moment. Obviously
he didn't walk it off right, but he could not run.
Gets that score in for the Tigers, and I was like,
oh my gosh, the Tigers may actually win this, especially
with herk school ball on the mound. You were like,

(02:22):
the Tigers may pull this off the Cinderella story. And
then the bases just get loaded in an unexpected way,
hitting Jose Ramrez with the pitch with that which at
the time I was like, I wonder if this is
better because you were afraid he was going to hit
the Grand Slam.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
No, Lane Thomas was like, don't worry, I got you.
I'm gona hit the.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Grounds side and the announcer literally says Lane Thomas is
a first ball hitter, first pick.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
And then it it was. It was so good. And
then you know, the Tigers still did not give up.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
No, they did not get They got a couple runs
back immediate they did, and I was like, they.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Can They're not giving up, which is what you want
to see. Give it up for the Guardians because in
reality they're the better team.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
They are the better team. Tigers have nothing to be
ashamed of. What would a run would a run? But yeah,
one while guard team left.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Those those Mets that I'm gonna be watching manyana.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Manyanna well, I mean what's interesting here is again, look,
if you're the network, your dream is Dodgers Yankee of course,
which hasn't happened since nineteen eighty one. If you're obviously
a New York fan, you won another Subway series like
they had in two thousand between the Yankees and Mets.
And then of course the Guardians organization has a won
a world series since nineteen forty eight. So interesting storylines

(03:33):
for all four remaining teams. So we're excited about that,
and of course those series will get underway starting tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
The just one quick note on the Dodgers, because if
you don't know, Manci has done work with the Dodge
organization for a number of years many and uh, you know,
after they lost game after got you know, humiliated in
the game two. We talked about that last week and
then lost Game three on the road against the Padres.
A lot of Dodger fans are like, here we go again.
I didn't think that at all. I mean I felt

(04:02):
pretty good going into Game four because I knew the
Padres with Musgrove out, they were gonna have to force
the throw seas out there, and he's never pitched well
in the postseason, had never pitched on three days rest,
so I knew he was gonna be up against it.
And the question was Darvish in Game five, and he
was lights out yesterday. But there has never been a
pitcher I don't even have to research this one. There
has never been a pitcher in the history of baseball

(04:24):
to win a game when his team scored zero runs.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Okay, I don't even have to look that one up.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
There has never been a pitcher to actually win a
game when his team scored zero runs.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And that's what happened.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
The Padres go twenty fourth straight innings without scoring a run.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I just I think the reason a lot of Dodger
fans felt a little uneasy after Game three because I
understand that feeling the best team doesn't necessarily win. It's
whoever is hot is whoever is smoking, and the Mets
are proving that. And I really did not think that
the Padres were gonna go twenty four innings without a run.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
They went so cold, and it's not what I was expecting.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
I did not expect the Dodgers to win that way.
I thought the Dodgers would win seven to six, like
I just thought it was going to be a high
scoring game, not the way it ended, obviously, so ecstatic
about it.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
And I was at the game yesterday.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
I was worried about Yoshinobu Yamamoto as well. Yeah, and
he went out there in the first inning, one, two, three,
and it just I think calmed the nerves of everybody
the stadium, the Dodgers, just like he felt in a
groove very early on, which eases everyone relaxes a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
The only I was nervous about is he only went
five innings and stay. Obviously, I was like, you got,
I said before the game, you gets. I literally said,
if you can get six innings out of him and
they're in the lead, they're in good shape. And they
pulled him in the after the fifth. He looked as
fresh in the fifth as he had did in the first.
And you know, again he got four innings. Your bullpen

(05:57):
has been lights out. But can you trust that they're
going to do it again? But Phillips comes in and
actually through two innias. Yes, And once that happened, I
knew the Dodgers are going to be okay. So Baseball
Final four is all set. Our focus obviously today is
on football. We got a big NFL schedule tomorrow, We're
gonna have our picks a little bit later on, we'll
updates you on what happened last week.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
At that time, I'd just say it it was a miracle.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
But you know, we've got games coming up, and including
the game of the day, which is going to kick
off here Montsei in about an hour and a half,
and that is Ohio State, number two in the country,
undefeated on the road against number three, undefeated Oregon.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
The fact that this.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Game is in Ugene, and you know, we've talked a
lot about the transfers of the West Coast teams washing Oregon,
SC and UCLA into the Big Ten and the challenge
of them entering the Big Ten, different style of football
and traveling to the Midwest. Well, I mean I might

(06:55):
have been a little short sighted and talking about yeah,
but then these Big Ten schools have to come out west.
I mean, you're looking at Penn State today. They're playing
an eighty two degree whether in la How often does
Penn State play in October game that's eighty two degrees
in sunshine? Playing in the Big Ten? How about never?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Never, never?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
And we saw Wisconsin a couple of weeks Ago come
into the coliseum, got off to an early lead and.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Just melted in the heat. So it really works both ways.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
The fact that Penn State has come back to tie
this game in the second half good sign for them.
But now I'm really curious about Ohio State going into
Eugene because I don't know if they've ever been to Eugene.
I love Eugene, Oregon, but it's a different cat Now.
It's not hot like it is here, obviously, but just
the whole atmosphere is very different from an Ohio State
team that they normally experience in conference play in the

(07:45):
month of October.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it as well, just to
see how real Oregon is this season. It's so early on, right,
but that's really what I'm curious to see. I'm a
fan of Dan Lanning. I think he's actually quite funny.
He has a great shoe collection, so I'm a fan
of his. But it is to me just going to
showcase how real Oregon is in this situation. But yeah,

(08:07):
there is disadvantages and advantages to both sides of it.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I mean, Ohio is how far like is it still
three hour difference?

Speaker 6 (08:14):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Oh yeah, no, it feels it feels like a day.
It feels like a day, like when I travel to
New York, I feel like I've lost a day. And
it's going to feel the same way for them. So yeah,
it'll be fun. I mean, Oregon is pretty, so at least,
ohiose Sate will be like, oh my god, pretty organist.
If you've never been, Oregon is so pretty.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
First time I went to Eugene, Oregon, and I always
date myself, you know if you've listened.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
So I was sports sedator of the UCLA Daily Bruin.
It was nineteen seventy nine, and what was significant about
that trip for me to go to Eugene, it was
it was in November, it was raining, it was you know,
the typical whether you would see at that time. UCLA
actually won the game quite easily, but that was not
the highlight. The movie Animal House had just come out
the year before, and a lot of it was filmed

(08:54):
on the University of Oregon campus. And if you watched
Animal House, they had that scene where they pan from
the Animal House frat house to like this pristine house
and I was told that actually exists. So I'm there
the year after the movie's released, so we went down
to Fraternity Road to check it out, and there it was.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
There is the frat house, you know, and right next
to it was this frat house. It was like this mansion,
beautiful mansion next to the one that they used an
animal house.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
So it was great to be out there. I love
that campus.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
And you know, obviously Oregon has benefited from the Nike money,
especially now in the nil which is why Dylan Gabriel
in his sixth year as a quarterback is there. And
you know, by the way, speaking of the Heisman race,
I'll have my Heisman update later in this hour, but
I got like, Dylan Gabriel has a big day to day,
keep some undefeated.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
They beat Ohio State.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Obviously he would very much put himself in the conversation
for the Heisman Trophy.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
So yeah, that was interesting. When I went up there
back in the day, it was crazy.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
I didn't know it was in the same area because
usually you know, the same area, they film different locations
and they make it seem like it's the same area.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
A little edit job, a little editing, because they did
a panshot like there's no editing.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Oh, I didn't know that they had.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Just found it.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
It was like, Wow, this is perfect, this is perfect.
And being there just a year. I don't know how
it looks now all these years later, but back then
it was the exact same situation. All right, So we
got a lot of college football we're going to get to,
of course, on the other side, we're going to get
to some NFL football. But first a reminder for all

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Steve Harvey, Monciblanos here Fox Football Saturday, we are coming
you live from the tire rack dot com studios. Big
guy in the NFL tomorrow and uh, of course Patrick,
our producer not happy right now? Is Seahawks had a
golden opportunity on Thursday. Yeah, to sort of take control

(11:41):
of the insanely weak NFC West at home against the
forty nine ers, and Patrick, you guys just couldn't get
the job done.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
And they've been competing. They have been competing.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
They have the talent, they just they I think they
get in their own way and it's growing mistaf rookie
head coach. It's there was a great three no start,
but coming back down to earth, this is exactly kind
of how I thought they'd be about six six weeks in,
about three and three. And by the way, guys, I
believe our very important guest is just coming in right now.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Oh really, well, let's bring a man on.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I don't know if we should pick up the conversation
where I started it last we go find out in
a moment. He of course graciously joins us every single
Saturday here on Fox Football Saturday. That would be our
Fox Sports Radio NFL insider Adam Kaplan. Well, last week
at him, I asked you who is the number two
seed in the AFC, and you said you were still
riding the Jets and you were confident they would win

(12:42):
the AFC East.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Well, let's put that aside.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Let's let's try to get as much of the story
that went down with Robert Salah. And I'm curious, why
was it necessary for security to escort him out the building.

Speaker 8 (12:57):
Let's do the last thing. So this is actually common,
believe or not. It's kind of weird, like, and what
happens is when the team is away but the team
is not there, then the coach comes back. You know,
they he may go, you know, he tells everybody where
everything is, and they might let him in for an
hour and then he leaves. It's just common. It's more common.

(13:17):
You think it doesn't happen every building, but it does happen.
It is very awkward. It's probably unnecessary, but yeah, I
could tell you the coaches were definitely shocked at this one.
They were not expecting because think about it, folks, if
they win Monday night, they're in first place.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
They have ceased.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
They would have the tiebreaker for Buffalo. They played the
Bills again in week seventeen, and I mean, if you
look at that conference, if you look at the AFC,
you go, okay. Kansas City hadn't played particularly well, but
they're five and zero. The Texans don't look great. They're
four and one. We don't know who number three, number four,
number five. I mean, you just go through it. It's
not a great conference. In fact, we have a record

(13:52):
number of games of seven points or less. And for
the gamblers out there, the call now is take take
the number. Take take seven points or more. You're gonna
win eighty percent of the time. It's been a really
interesting start to the season. There are really no dominant
teams right now.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Adam Nathaniel Hackett was relieved of his play calling duties.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
So was the wrong person fired here?

Speaker 8 (14:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (14:15):
I was.

Speaker 8 (14:16):
It's inching. A lot of people around the league thought
it would have been smart just to remove Hackett. Todd Downing,
who who was their quarterbacks coach, last passion game coordinator.
He was a hacket, I'm told in Buffalo, so he
knows the scheme. It's West Coast. The scheme will not
change at all. What Downing will do is he'll get
together with Rogers. What is Rogers like in terms of
personnel groupings, you typically see when there are an offensive

(14:38):
coordinator change, It might maybe they throw the ball a
little more. But the thing that I think surprised the
Jets is where's the running game been with pre Saul.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
That's been a surprise, all right, So I'm gonna go
forget the stats for a moment here, eyeball test. And
you know, I've been warning people that the Aaron Rodgers
who won his last MVP award in twenty twenty one,
does not exist anymore. He was not the same quarterback
in twenty twenty two, tripled his interceptions from the year before,
and you can talk about no Devonte Adams. There's a

(15:09):
lot of things you could talk about of why that happened.
And then of course obviously he misses the season with
a blown achilles and now of course he'll be forty
one in December. He's just not the same quarterback. I mean,
he's making throws that he never made. Put it in
perspective in twenty twenty one, he had four interceptions for
the season. The year before he had five interceptions for

(15:29):
the season, and he has three in a single game.
But that aside, let's talk about Davonte Adams. Will he
be a Jet? Are the Raiders going to make a deal?
What are the Raiders demanding in a deal? It would
seem like they're not going to take less than what
they were looking for maybe a year ago for Devonte Adams.

(15:51):
How is this all going to play out?

Speaker 8 (15:52):
All right? They're not getting the two is what they want.
That's what teams have told me. They want a second
round pick. They're not getting it right now. Now. Some
teams think that maybe to get a three and a six,
a three and a five, maybe an additional three that
could be a two depending on how Adams plays. Now
there I'm told at least six teams in it. There's
no favorite right now. The Saints have been the surprise

(16:12):
to me though, because the receiver is really not a
position they really need, but it's the Car connection. They're
trying to take their offense to the next level. And
obviously Derek car is hurt now, so it's kind of
a moot point. He's got in a bleak injury, which
i'm told his multi week, so that there's nothing settled here. See,
there was a lot of there was a lot of guesswork.
A lot of people are saying, oh, he'll be traded
with the next week. Well, that didn't happen this week.

(16:33):
A lot of people thought of what happened the raiders
Now what I find commicals Steve is ATUNI of Pearce,
who favored that tweet about Adams being traded right which
didn't was I'm told did not sit well with Adams.
Well once he found out, I'm sure that they're not
getting what they wanted. Oh boy, Pierce's kind of done
a onoin't eighty here? Oh oh he could still be here.

(16:54):
I wish I had the exact quote. I thought it
was very interesting because he here, fe's to talk about
it now all of a sudden he's talking about it.
They just don't have what they want. Now, what I
would tell you is there's a belief for only the
longer this takes. I still think he'll be traded. But
the longer this takes longest takes to November fifth, which
is the trade deadline at four Eastern, the more more
teams may be in it because here's the thing now.

(17:17):
One of the reasons why the trade deadline was pushed
back five years ago to two more weeks. It would
used to be like the third week of October. Now
it's the first week of November. Teams just they needed
more time to see if they could make the playoffs
or not and get that push. So yeah, it's and
the more the Raiders lose, the more app they'll be

(17:37):
to try to move the player.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Adam.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
A big divisional game for my Chargers taking on the Broncos,
both stingy defenses.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Who has the edge?

Speaker 8 (17:47):
Yeah, I'm sluck if we all gave our picks or
who are the surprises of the year. I can't believe
the Broncos are three and two. Their offense isn't very good.
Bow next he's getting better, you know, I thought Trump Payne.
It's a funny, funny line too. Nix is a is
a risk taker, which is what a lot of teams
liked about him. But there's a thought around the league

(18:09):
that he was overdrafted, that he should have been a
secon round pick, not a first round pick. Charger come
off there by a little healthier, they're a little bit
beat up in the secondary, which is that concern? This
is there should be a low scoring game, and I
would I would think I didn't see the over under total,
but I can't imagine it'll be like more than like
thirty three or thirty four.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Points scored in this game and a half. But I'm oh,
is that right there?

Speaker 5 (18:27):
You go?

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Just know this.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
I predicted before the season that the Broncos was sneaking
as a wild card.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Did you really? We have to make a surprise pick.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
And that's an awesome pickI as a wild card and
in seven.

Speaker 8 (18:43):
I'm buying your lunch at the Super Bowl inking Rolands,
if you're there, I'm buying if the Broncos make it,
I am lunch is all made. That is crazy. Well,
no one did that. I never heard anyone pick that.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
It's right there on paper. We think before the season
begins it works. Yeah, because nothing else I pick is right?
This is that would be something else. Let's talk about
the Commanders right now. Yeah, sitting atop the NFC East
or four and one. Obviously, Jayden Daniels has played tremendous football.
Now you go on the road against a Ravens team,
that was gifted that win in Cincinnati. I still do

(19:14):
not understand how the Bengals, after the fumble first down
at the thirty eight yard line run three straight plays
into the middle of the line when Joe Burrow basically
is passing least, what do you think of fifty three
yard field goal is an automatic? I mean, I just
was stunned by that play calling by the Bengals. But
the Ravens now sitting at three and two. What do

(19:36):
you expect from this commander's team on the road against
the Ravens.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
No talk of the commanders that they refuse to say
it was it was going to be a rebuild year,
and then they obviously had a lot of comment sant Daniels.
Daniels is definitely the quarterb. I thought it would be
elite processor. He's siscott It you kind of know when
you're around it. But I think if the Commanders are
being honest with you, they would tell you that they're
not the most talented team. They have a lot of
work to do on offense. They're the coaching has been superior.

(20:01):
They're like their offensive line when you look at you go,
how are they even protecting Daniels? Because they're they're they're
they're probably one of the five least talented lines. So
the coaching is good. There, scheme really good. Cliff Kingsbury,
you know, he runs a hurry up spread offense like
he did in college. Defensively, there's not a lot of talent,
so they've overachieved. Now, this is what I call litmus

(20:22):
test team. A game I thought they could win at
most seven, and obviously they're there. They've got a real
chance to surpass that even by mid season. But let's look,
the Ravens are not the dominant road team or home
excuse me home team they used to be. But let's
see the Commanders. I know they don't have to they're
probably I'm sure they're busting to the game. You're talking
about probably less than ninety minute drive, so by about

(20:44):
an hour. But bottom line is, let's see them win
a game on the road like this, then we'll believe
that they've arrived.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Adam, why is Deshaun Watson still starting for the Terrible?

Speaker 8 (20:55):
I was just asked that on CBS in Cleveland and
my response was very strongly, it's strictly because of his contract.
Kevin Stefanski, I don't think it can make the call there.
In fact, the reason, another one of the a coach
that used to be with the Browns, told me that
Watson's confidence was so shot last season, and then then

(21:15):
of course Flako comes in and turns the thing around somehow,
and everyone in Cleveland was behind Flacco. And you know,
by the way I did, I did put this out
the combine that the Browns indicated to Flacco and his
agent that they wanted to bring him back, and then
once they got home, they never negotiated with him. A
joke confirmed on record this past week that they never

(21:36):
made an offer. So that was a mistake. And I
just strongly believe that they don't want anyone who could
possibly take Watson's job. But here's the thing with Jameis Winston.
He's a very streaky quarterback. He could get on a
roll here and all the fans wanted someone could play
common to quarterback. Right now, Watson's one of the three
worst quarterbacks. He's been horrendous. That is why the Browns

(21:58):
have the biggest spread. They are a nine and a
half point underdog at Philly.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
I'm just wondering, at what point do you realize that
maybe he's losing the locker room, like, how do these.

Speaker 8 (22:09):
We haven't gotten there yet. It's yeah, SPONSI I was
told that the players have been sort of back in Watson.
He gets along with them. But here's what I know
on and you just mentioned it. Players know when a
god can't play anymore. Right now, the defense has not
been great on our Jim Schwartz was phenomenal last year.
They haven't gotten there yet. And they Eagles are totally healthy.
They're getting back to two starting receivers Tomorrows and the

(22:30):
right tackle in Johnson, So theoretically they could get blown
or they certainly can lose now at one in five,
I think, then then it becomes to the point where
it has to get done. If Watson's part of the
problem continually, Stefanski's not gonna have a choice in ownership,
and jam Andrew Berry, who is the one who made
the trade, they're just gonna have to give it up
and then after the season they owe ninety two million,

(22:52):
fully guaranteed. Right now, it's heading towards the worst transaction
in NFL history, and that's really where we're headed.

Speaker 7 (22:58):
Here, all right.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
One final answer from this one, Well, the Cowboys get
their first home winn of the year against the Lions.

Speaker 8 (23:05):
I mean after giving up one hundred and ten points
to three games. No, the Lions lines are actually they
come to this game pretty healthy after they're buy and
the Cowboys they've got all sorts of pass rushed problems.
How about Jared got eighteen for eighteen. Yeah, and see
how that was incredible. It isn't really crazy where Sean
McVay didn't want him at all and it was his

(23:25):
really he pushed he pushed their GM to trade them.
I mean, it's a great story and they this is
one of those all time stories where the Lines were
the doorm out of the NFL for decades and now
they're one of the elade teams.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
They are an elite team for sure.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
You are elites every single week, even though you finally
dropped the Jets as the number two team in the
we're now, We're now. Adam Kaplan joins us again, and Adam,
we always appreciate the deuble talking next week.

Speaker 8 (23:51):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
That is Adam Kaplan are Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Let's find out what is trending right now now.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
I got in early today and I was very curious
you always do, even earlier because Jonas Knox, who on
the weekends does the show from Home, was actually in
studio and the dynamic between you and Jonas is legendary
hair at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
So the question was is it different when you're literally
looking at each other.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
I don't think it is, although Jonas had a hard
time locking eyes with me.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Yeah, I was talking.

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Yeah, so yeah, you didn't make me that uncomfortable. I
think it made Jonas uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
See I that's what I figure.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
The thing is, you can't help but feeling uncomfortable when
you look at Jonas because he's got the low te
with like you can.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
See basically does at chest hair.

Speaker 5 (24:41):
You can see the chest hair sticking out and I don't.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Need to see.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
And then he's got the thumb ring so like he
puts that on his ring like so.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Well, it's the old If you're going to say it,
say it to my face, you know.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
And that's what he's uncomfortable with when he's with you.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
I didn't know he owned a car. I honestly did not.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
I thought, you know, if anything, it was horse and
buggy for him. But but anyway, hey, you're talking.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
You said, the word elite.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
USC football used to be elite, and right now, what
are they doing. They are tied in a logjam of
a game twenty three apiece at home against number four
Penn State, and they are in the fourth quarter. USC
was leading this game twenty to six at the half,
and Steven montsei it has been seventeen to three scoring

(25:31):
in favor of the alliance here in the second half.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Well, let's make this clear.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
If you don't know this already, Brian Fanley does postgame
UCLA Bruins football talk. That's right, And so the idea
that Penn State was down big at halftime to USC
was not playing well with befen.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
No, but again was also ty stat There's also the
stat that people are throwing out as if to say,
especially in the Big Ten, when a team travels at
least two time zones to go from their place to
a visiting team or if they go the other way
either way, they're like one in eight. Yeah, so you
have to put that into perspective, because.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Yeah, there's a bit of impressed.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
I did not it looked they looked out of it
completely in the first half, end State, So impress a
second half comeback.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
Yeah, as will the UCLA win later on today and
you can listen to that here on the blowtorch AM
five seventy sports. Hey also to mention there's a delay
in the number eleven Notre Dame Stanford game. Not that
anybody needs to continue to watch this one just because
of the lopsided nature of the score, but it's forty
two to seven in the third quarter favoring Notre Dame.

(26:40):
There is lightning in the area, so they have put
a pause on that one. Also, Number fourteen BYU twenty
seven to ten in front of Arizona Fox Television is
where you can watch that one late in the third quarter,
early in the third quarter. Number five Georgia is bossing
around Mississippi State thirty four to ten. Carson Beck thirty

(27:01):
of thirty seven through the air, three hundred and ninety
two yards, passing three scores that he has mustered with
his arm. Finals. Number seven Alabama twenty seven to twenty five.
They and essentially I would have to think they're humbled
even though they won, just because of the close nature
of a twenty seven to twenty five against South Carolina.
South Carolina had a touchdown late in this game, they

(27:22):
missed the two point conversion. Then they go on sidekick.
They get the ball back inside the Alabama fifty yard line,
so right around the forty eight yard line. They got
forty seconds to go and they can't move with a
football and they throw a pick in the end zone.
Alabama finds away after they got humiliated a week ago
against Vanderbilt. Number ten Clemson over wake Forest forty nine
to fourteen. No mercy shown by the Tigers. Their number

(27:45):
twenty one Missouri forty five to three. They put UMass
out of its misery. And lastly, we've got baseball Game five,
Alds and the Cleveland Guardians moving on to take on
the New York Yankees after the Guardians came up with
a seven to three win against the Tigers today in
the decisive winner take all Game five, which we saw

(28:09):
Lane Thomas hit a grand slam in this one for
the Guardians. And they moved this game Steven Moncey up
about seven hours because of weather in Cleveland, and so
they got this one done rather early, which is why
we're talking about it. And I still as I get
it back to you, I'm still going through my grieving

(28:30):
process of the San Diego Padres, and being that Steve
and I have close ties to San Diego that we
watched the misery that unfolded Moncey with their.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Offense, well, you know, you guys went cold, ice cold,
which is not what I was expecting.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
I really didn't think the Dodgers would win in a shutout.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
I thought the Dodgers would win by outscoring the Padres.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Well twenty one runs on the first twenty indings of
the series for the Padres zero in the last twenty
four innings. I really thought, you know, they've been wearing
the PSI in memory of Peter Seidler, who was a
dear friend of mine and a guy I greatly admired.
He had been battling cancer for years and he wanted
to win a championship for the San Diego Padres. Spent
the money. He was one of those guys that didn't

(29:13):
just talk the talk as an owner, he walked the walk.
They're packing them into Peco, and I thought, maybe it's
destiny that this Padre team is going to win. But
I didn't feel good for the Padres going into Game
four because again they lose must Grove. That was a
killer for them. Game four was almost a throwaway for them.
I figured if the Dodgers can somehow wake up and

(29:34):
score a few runs, they could win. The big question
was could they beat you Darvish in Game five, and
again Darvers was outstanding, and as I said earlier, there's
never been a pitcher that's won a game without his
team scoring a run, and that was unfortunately the case
for Darvish and the Padres.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
They kept panning the camera over at Manny Machado. I'm
gonna even go back to Game four when the Padres
are losing, and it just seemed like many had already
thrown in the towel on this year. He's even in
the even in Game five. You look at him, he's
so mentally checked out. That's how I'm reading his facial
expression to say, look, dude, there's still a chance you

(30:10):
could win this thing.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
It was close.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
It was as the whole way the Tigers today. Tigers
never gave up, and I agree with you. There was
a sense of like, I don't know if we can.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Do this, Yeah, like an apathy.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Yeah, well yeah, well we'll see how it plays out now,
but yeah, disappointing finished for the Padres. They certainly had
high hopes and it have to wait till another year,
wait on next year.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
That's always the case there.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Once again, this is Fox Football Saturday, Steve Harbin, Montsey
Bolanos coming to live from the tirak dot com studio.
So we're keeping an eye on USC and Penn State.
USC and Penn State tied seven minutes to go in
the fourth quarter, USC as a first down at the
Penn State nine yard line, So we'll keep you update
on that game. Last week, Uh, the insane upset of

(30:55):
Alabama losing to Vanderbilt, and it was complicated by what
happened at the end of the game. So Malachai Moore,
fifth year senior captain of this Alabama team, highly respected
on the team, literally has a melt down at the
end of the game. So basically, Vanderbilt's running out the clock.
Their quarterback goes down Pavia and he basically drives Pavia's

(31:16):
helmet into the ground. And then when the official put
the ball down he kicked the ball. He has a
complete melt down. And Caitlin de Borr, who obviously you
lose a game like that, Van Built not only had
never beaten a number one team, they had never beaten.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
A top five team.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Yeah, they took the field goal.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
And they had lost twenty three straight times to Alabama,
So a lot of pressure when you're following up. This
is when you follow up a legend like Nick Saban,
you better not lose like that, and he did. But
his decision to not discipline the player after having this
meltdown did not go over well at all. And then,

(31:52):
of course Alabama barely escaped against underanked South Carolina today,
So you got to wonder what exactly is going down
in Tuscaloosa these days.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
And you know, as a college football coach, you do
have the responsibility to instill discipline with a lot of
players because they're going to the NFL where discipline matters.
You can see when you're watching them, or it's like,
why are you know the Chargers For a long time,
I felt were not disciplined under you know Stalely what
was his.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Name, Brandon stale Yeah, R understand.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I don't care about him.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
I did not think that they were disciplined under under
his you know him as a coach. I don't know
why he's not taking a little bit more serious to
discipline the players, because today like you said, they survived.
When when South Carolina got that on side kick, I screamed.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I could not believe that they got that, and I
was like, that's it.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
Alabama's gonna go down. Alabama's gonna go down right here.
Two losses in a.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Row, but at home against South Carolina.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
The fact that that you win by two, so something's
happening there and debor get it. Better to get a
hold of it quick or he could have a very
quick exit in Tuscaloosa.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
That's the problem.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
This is why most people say, yeah, I'd like that job,
but I'm not being the guy immediately after Nick Saban
just not gonna do that. It was the same thing
at UCLA for a guy named Jean Bartow that replaced
the retiring John Wooden. He went fifty two to nine
and got boot out of town. Could get out out
of town quick enough.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
All right. I'm on the other side.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Heisman race is taking shape, folks, and I think most
people are in line suddenly with my picks. It's amazing
how I set the bar and then everyone's like, oh,
maybe he's right. We'll give you my top three coming up.
This is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Steve Harvey, Montsiblino is here Fox Football Saturday. All right, folks,
it is that time. By the way, Marymack on the
board doing overtime. She hasn't slept in a week.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Apparently, Welcome to the real world.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Yeah so, Mary Mac.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
She's all of twenty one, so she's she can handle it,
sort of.

Speaker 8 (34:12):
I can't.

Speaker 9 (34:13):
I'm running off a red bull of peach and I'm
eating some salad like from Hole Foods.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
You haven't missed to beat Mary Mac. She's in the
automatic overdrive right now. So good stuff as always, Mary Mack. Yes,
every week I want to give you my update on
the Heisman vote. And what makes it valid, I guess,
is the fact that I actually do have a Heisman vote.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
In case you didn't know, listeners.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
This is my fifteenth year that I will be voting
for the Heisman Trophy. It is indeed a great honor.
So I like to updates every week. Here is my
current number three snap handoff. No he throws left side
of the Royo, he lunches, he got it.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Touchdown.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
It's a touchdown. Miyami inside the game. Fine, no touchdown
to a royal twenty six seconds ago.

Speaker 8 (35:02):
It's a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
That is Miami Radio Network and Miami quarterback cam Ward
back in the top three.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
His team is undefeated.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Although these last two wins, some questionable calls allowed Miami
to stay undefeed. He get a sense in the acc
they're working a little overtime to guarantee that Miami stays
in the undefeated ranks. Cam Ward's had a great season
so far. Has not been an overwhelming year for college
quarterbacks this year.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Not so far.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
He's been the best of them. Here is my current
number two.

Speaker 8 (35:33):
It takes the handoff, set the throw, throw it to
the end zone, catch it the one hand.

Speaker 7 (35:37):
The zund touchdown, touchdown, Colorado.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
The best player in college football.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
Once again, Travis Hunter finds the end zone for the
sixth time this season.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
That's Mark Johnson from lear Field. Well, what can you
say Travis Hunter. I saw an interview today with his
coach Deon Sanders, just talking about Travis Hunter beyond what
we already know, oh that he's one of the top
receivers in the country. Well, that's right, he also plays
full time defense. And he says, this kid's work ethic
is second and none first one in the building. It

(36:09):
doesn't happen by accident that Travis Hunter is the player
he is. He's going to be a superstar in the
NFL Sunday. But you know, again, the award is for
the best college football player in the country, and any
ballot without Travis Hunter, to me, is not a valid ballot.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
You know, it's good to hear that because I think
people need to really understand how important work ethic is,
especially for somebody who's playing on both sides of the ball.
It's not easy. You can't just go out and do that.
It requires a lot.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
As great as he has been, this guy's been a
little bit better.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Here's my current number one.

Speaker 7 (36:43):
Coming in motion as baits hand off genty to the
right side, genty, Shed's a tackler thirty forty fifty forty.
It's a foot race thirty twenty ten.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Another one play drive for Ashton gent y seventy five.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
The yards are I'm the score.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
That's Bob Bieler from lair Field, Ashton genty. Let's try
it Again, put the numbers in perspective. So they played
five games, but he's only played the full game in
three of those games and two other games he's played
a half. He has ninety five carries for one thousand
and thirty one yards. That's ten point nine yards of carry,

(37:24):
and he has scored sixteen touchdowns. Okay, so I mean
you really.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Have to sit and look at those numbers because it's unbelievable, unred.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
And again he's really played four games, right, three games
and two halves, So if you put that in perspective,
that would be averaging about two hundred and fifty yards
rushing the game in four touchdowns a game.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Is Barry Sanders the one who holds the most.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
I told you about Barry Sanders in an eleven game season.
He scored thirty nine touchdowns in eleven games and then
scored five more in the bowl games. So in twelve
games he had forty four touchdowns. He's not quite to
Barry Sanders level. No one will ever do that. The
year that Barry Sanders won the Heisman, he had four
games over three hundred yards.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
Rushing oh four.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
In one year.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
But Ashton genty get to know the name, folks, because
I don't see him. And here's the thing about Boise State.
If they if they rolled through the rest of their schedule,
and they and it's not a guarantee, but remember their
only loss this year was a three point loss to
Oregon So and and you know they play in the
Mount West Conference, and you know, at Hawaii and then.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
That's later tonight.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Who knows how many yards he's going to put up
in that game at U and l V Sandega State
and Nevada at San Jose, at Wyoming, Oregon State at home.
They will be in the playoff, Yeah, most likely, And
so everyone will get to see this Ashton gent play.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
I literally am watching Boise State just because of him,
Like I'm going to watch the games.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
Wear this last play that we just heard there the
highlight we played against Utah State.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
That was the first play of the.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Game, right, touchdown, touchdown.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Oh, Penn State just scored and they are an extra
point a way of tying up this game against USC
we're inside three minutes ago, mister a voice of the
UCLA Bruins post. Yes, it's very happy and the kick
is up and good. So we are tied at thirty
with under three minutes ago in the game there. So

(39:29):
it's been quite a comeback because Penn State only had
six points at halftime twenty four here in the second half.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
I wonder if LaVar's there, LaVar Arrington probably telling them
get out of this right now at halftime.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
Well, I like to say this way.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
So the Penn State had a pretty easy win against
UCLA and the scoreboard, but I think physically UCLA beat
them down. That's why they are being challenged by USC today.
So yeah, again, if you don't know that name, Ashton Genty,
you need to see this game.

Speaker 8 (39:58):
You do.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
He is big, tax unreal, He's ten point nine yards
of cares.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Give them ball every time.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Ten by nine, right, that's a first down, all right?

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Coming up on the other side, we're gonna get you
ready for a huge day in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
That's right, an NFL Sunday. Keep it here. This is
Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
Rolling along on another tremendous day of sports here on
this beautiful Saturday. This is Fox Football Saturday, and we're
broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
Tire rack dot Com.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
We're gonna help get you there, and I'm matched selection
fast read shipping, free road ASID protection, over ten thousand
recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way tire buying
should be. All right, we got our eyes on this
Penn State USC game. We're inside two minutes to go
right now. Game is tied. He has the ball right
at midfield right now, so they have a second down,

(40:53):
a minute twenty to go. Actually, now we're the clock's running,
so we're inside a minute. USC has all three of
their times, so I guess they're trying to run the clock,
but they're still a long way from field goal position
right now. They're gonna have to get at least another
fifteen yards and the clock is still running down to

(41:14):
thirty four to thirty three with three timeouts left, third
and seven for USC, as they will try to position
themselves for what they are hoping would be a game
winning field goal. This wild be a huge win for USC.
Last week, losing on the road to Minnesota, they went
from ranked eleventh in the country to completely out of
the top twenty five, so that was devastating for them.

(41:36):
Meanbi all, Penn State, of course comes in this game
ranked fourth in country, So we got fourteen seconds left.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
They are what are they doing? Are they no idea?

Speaker 1 (41:45):
With three timeouts remaining, Penn State just called the timeout,
but fourteen seconds left, SC is looking at a sixty
yard field goal right now?

Speaker 2 (41:54):
Yeah, why did they let the time run down like that?

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Even Penn State was the one they just called the timeout,
So right now you are looking at a sixty two
yard field goal.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
No, they're definitely gonna attempt to play, but now you
have fourteen seconds and you want.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
To get at least ten yards.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Least ten yards at least to feel comfortable.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
This is really crazy that it.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Yeah, so fourteen seconds remaining time out Penn State. Third
and seven for USC, and they're at the forty five
yard line at Penn State.

Speaker 2 (42:29):
Yeah, I feel like Penn State must have called the
time out just to mess with them.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
I mean maybe James Franklin on the other side is like,
what the hell are you doing? Why are you doing this?
Are you trying to force overtime a little bit?

Speaker 4 (42:44):
Right?

Speaker 1 (42:44):
So we'll watch what USC is going to do right now,
third and seven, fourteen seconds remaining, and Moss, their quarterback,
is obviously looking to throw, and he throws and it's
intercepted by Penn State you got to be kidding me.
And the return is to midfield and there's four seconds
three they'll call it.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
There's three? What was that?

Speaker 2 (43:05):
I again be in the last minute game.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
I need to bring Brian Fenley on. Guys.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Can you turn on befens Mike right now? So there
was a minute and a half to go and s
he was at midfield with three timeouts. You figure, all right,
get down about the thirty yard line, forty seven yard
field goal.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
They've been able to move the ball.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
And they let the clock run all the way down
to fourteen seconds, and with third and seven they threw
an interception. Were they playing for overtime?

Speaker 3 (43:36):
What happening? I would have to.

Speaker 5 (43:37):
Think there could be this feeling that Lincoln Riiley maybe
had like a brain fart where he thought he didn't
have any timeouts left. I can't imagine why you wouldn't
do that considering where you stand in this game. And
then you've got a quarterback who's not very mobile, So
if he's going to start to run, he's probably gonna
get tackled. You're probably not going to find something deep.

(43:58):
And now with ye or seconds, I don't think they're
gonna have to go Hail Mary. Here, assuming with Penn
State having the football, they're gonna have to go Hail Mary.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Or play they have time for a hail mayor and
play by How did this happen?

Speaker 2 (44:11):
Time management?

Speaker 3 (44:12):
You have three.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
Timeouts, you get a first down, maybe get another first down,
then you run down the clock once you're into field
goal range exactly, and then you bring on your field
goal kicker to win it. They were running clock at midfield.
Really made no minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
It made no sense.

Speaker 5 (44:28):
We assume that if you're coaching a power for school
that you have graduated from time management school. Even these
decisions are so perplexing to be had or to not
be had in those moments like these coaches, sometimes they
just cave under pressure.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
And even if you.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
Thought you had no timeouts, where's the sense of urgency.
There was no sense of urgency even from the players.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
Well, Penn State ran a very quick outplay, so two
seconds left to give them a little more yardage for
this final hail Maryor how about it this way? If USC,
who had a twenty to six lead at halftime at
home in this game, loses this game to Penn State
and drops to three and three, completely out of the mix.
That would be their third loss in conference. By the way,

(45:16):
Lincoln Riley could be in trouble with all the hype
and then incredible contract deal they paid this guy. And
by the way, they paid their new defensive coordinator two
million a year to get him away from UCA, doubled
his salary. He's making a million of UCLA two million
at USC. So they're spending all this money giving Lincoln
Riley everything he wants. You how much money did they

(45:37):
spent on Gayleb Williams and you still can't produce.

Speaker 5 (45:42):
Yeah, they're not going to give him the benefit of
the doubt either because of how salty he has been recently.
Lincoln Riley to the media like he stepped in front
of a question that was asked last week after the
loss to Minnesota, where it was directed at a player,
and then he got combative. He took it personal. And
when you do that sort of thing now the media,
it's like shark's looking for blood in the water.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
The player was asked about the final touchdown by Minnesota,
which was questioned on the field. I thought he was
clearly in the end zone when I saw the play.
Originally they ruled otherwise. And then reverse the call, and
then it's a logical question to ask the player. And
like you said, Lincoln Riley jumped in and said, you know,
that's not for the player to answer.

Speaker 3 (46:23):
It's like why not.

Speaker 5 (46:25):
And days afterwards, even like midweek this week, he was
still talking about that call that was in dispute.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
All right, here's our hail Mary for Penn State, and
it's going to be well short of the goal line.
In fact, USC intercepts the ball and is tackled, and
so we're going to go to overtime in this game
between Ohio State, Penn State, and USC. By the way,
coming up in this hour, we got three games, three
interesting college games. One just kicked off number eight Tennessee

(46:53):
at home against Florida, and then we got number nine
Ole Miss on the road against number thirteen LSU. And
then of course the big game of the day, number
two Ohio State on the road against number three Oregon
battle of undefeated. So we got some good college football
coming on later on today.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
Let's get back to the NFL.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
Though, we had Adam Kaplan on our show a little
bit earlier when I asked him about the Robert Salah situation.
I thought It was interesting how you talked about Hackett,
because that really was the story here. And so Hackett
gets demoted, and I mean, what exactly is he going

(47:35):
to do? You're paying him to be You're paying him
to be the play caller, to be the offensive core
I love this. He also said, no titles will change,
but he still is the offensive coordinator. He's just not
going to call plays during the game. But how much
is this on Hackett. I've never been a hacket fan.
Obviously he was a dismal fair as a head coach
in Denver. But how about the admission that Aaron Rodgers

(47:57):
just doesn't have it anymore? You know, they were talking
about where's the running game, where's the offense? Through the
first five games, they have exactly the same number of
points scored they had through five games last year with
Zach Wilson at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
In the yards per.

Speaker 1 (48:11):
Game are the same, which to me says, Okay, you see,
well it's the same offensive coordinator. I'm saying, it's basically
the same quarterback play you had last year.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Aaron Rodgers is playing about the same way that Zach
Wilson played last year.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Right, Why did they not say, Aaron, what kind of
offense do you want to run?

Speaker 2 (48:32):
That's what's confusing me.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
Why he and Alan Lazard have maybe a specific way
of wanting to play. Why did they not say, Aaron,
tell us how you want to how you want to
run this offense, and we'll accommodate you. Instead, like you said,
they're making him kind of fold into what the Jets
already had.

Speaker 1 (48:48):
Well, we gave you everything you wanted. We gave you
the receivers you wanted. You were excited about the young
talent they had on this team. And we gave you
your offensive coordinator, the guy you chose that you feel
so comfortable with to call plays.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
So we give an you everything you wanted.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
And yet and yet you could not deliver.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Okay, I know you just turned your head, which is
a reminder to me that I need.

Speaker 3 (49:13):
To ask a question.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
Well, I turned my head because I was coughing. Almost died.
I almost died, you guys. But I'm okay, I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
It doesn't matter how much I yell loud or anything else.
Coffee is not part of it. So what are your
plans tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (49:27):
Oh my gosh, I have such a busy day. Well,
I'm gonna start with you.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
Yes, obviously we got four hours of NFL foot we
only have six games.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
You only have six games, so exciting. But the Dodgers won.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
Yeah, they did Game one of the National League Championship
Series tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
So from here, I'm gonna go watch the game. I'm
not working. I just I scored some tickets. It's gonna
go watch the game. But I also had tickets to
Universal Halloween.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
Hornits, which, by the way, three of my children are.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Going to be at exact tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
I don't know. I don't know which day they're going
to be there.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
But they have the VIP pass, right, They actually have
four VIP passes.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
Yes, yes, no, I which is insane.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Because they've done this every year for years and years
and years, but they've never had the VIP pass.

Speaker 4 (50:11):
I worked there for many years. I used to be
the VIP guy.

Speaker 3 (50:14):
It was called I saw the Hartman kids several.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
I was doing the rip for many years.

Speaker 4 (50:19):
Universal hooked me up and I also I got Express tickets,
so I have to I'm gonna go to Universal. So
I'm gonna be up until who knows what time, and
then I'll be back at Dodger Stadium Monday morning. Yes,
game two, which starts out one.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
So the tour is gonna start at like ten in
the morning.

Speaker 4 (50:35):
So I'm not I'm gonna be like Mary. I'm not
gonna sleep for the next like thirty six hours.

Speaker 3 (50:40):
All right. So people have.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
Never been to your Universal studios, tell them about the
horror Nights, So I it's a great tradition.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Yes, I love Halloween. I do all the stuff, all
the things around here.

Speaker 4 (50:49):
When I tell people that's different about Universal Studios here
in Hollywood, because I've never been to the one in Florida.
It's like a show. It's there, there's music as you
walk by, there's life. You're walking into what feels almost
like a movie set every single time. The level of
the props in the decoration are like movie sets, which
is different than other ones. Spectacul other ones are a

(51:11):
little bit more eerie and I would say spooky in
like a calmer sense.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
This is like a big party. It's like a big
scary party.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
So the fact that my boys have been going to
this since they were in teenagers, so it's been a
lot of years. But the VIP passes that they have
been gifted, they're.

Speaker 2 (51:30):
Going to have a grand time. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
I don't know if it's the same, but usually with
the VIP experience for Halloween, you may get some snacks,
you may get a.

Speaker 3 (51:39):
Vehicle to take You don't have to wait.

Speaker 4 (51:41):
You don't wait at all, because there's also express which
doesn't make you wait either. But if they're doing the
RIP experience, it comes with a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
Oh yeah, I don't they're going to have a grand time.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
This is all part of my oldest son's birthday celebrations.
Birthday is coming up on Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
You got them this.

Speaker 4 (51:58):
You're the one because Hartman got mad about something we did.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
We had I had a meltdown the last time we
went to some Universal studios.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
I didn't do it.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
Their mother did it. She's really good at you know me.
I had to be restrained. Yes, she got down to
business and said you always now, let's make it happen.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
And that's what she came up with, was four you
helped the VIP pass. Well if I didn't have my
meltdown yet exactly.

Speaker 4 (52:23):
They saw how serious you were, and you had every
right to be upset.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
For the most part, I'm a pretty low key guy,
but were I lose it?

Speaker 2 (52:30):
You really are. I don't want to.

Speaker 4 (52:32):
I don't want to see you if you lose it,
because typically people who are calm when they lose it,
it's scary. I'm always losing it, so I'm shocked people
when I'm losing it.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
I'm just losing it for the third time in one day.
You know what I'm saying. You don't lose it, so
I'd be scared.

Speaker 3 (52:44):
It was. It was a little bit scary that day.

Speaker 8 (52:46):
All right.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
We're in overtime right now, USC and Penn State USC
with the ball first. It looks like they're going to
go for a field goal attempt here on their first
possession of the overtime, and the field goal attempt is missed.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
He hooked it real hard. Wow.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
So Penn State all they need now is a field
goal to win the game. And that does not sit
well with Brian Finley, voice of UCLA postgame football talk.
Not a good deal for him. Can we get beefed
on to react to that missfield goal?

Speaker 3 (53:24):
It's so USC, isn't it not?

Speaker 7 (53:27):
Here.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
I don't know about other people out there, but my
attitude about rivals, I want them to be good because
we're going to get the showdown at some point anyway, Right,
You're you're gonna have your day, because even if they're
if they're bad and you're good and then you lose,
it's worse.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
I'd rather have them good.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
I'm always rooting for a rival to be good so
that when.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
We beat them it feels good. It feels that much.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
Better, Right, I hear what you're saying.

Speaker 5 (53:55):
The thing is, when you're a UCLA fan and they're
not having a great season, no, you got to look
elsewhere sometimes for the wins.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
It's the joy.

Speaker 5 (54:03):
If the wins aren't coming on the football field for
the Bruins, I'm looking at wins in the form of
losses from the rival school and sometimes a year like this,
that's the best you can get. Or you hope to
get more, but that's all you can get.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
I have to admit this, growing up a Trojan fan
and then becoming a Bruin, my hatred of Notre Dame
was inborn from day one because of the USC Notre
Dame rivalry, and back when I was a there was
a basketball rivalry Digger Phelps and UCLA basketball. So yeah,
I've always rooted against Notre Dame. Not that I don't
admire their tradition, I'm rooting against it. So Penn State

(54:37):
right now, on a second hauld play has got the
ball down of the twenty three yard line. So we'll
find out on the other side as we continue on
here more on the NFL and what we think are
the marquee matchups this weekend. This is Fox Football Saturday.
Ryan Parker thirty six yard attempt. Tompson looks back, he's

(55:00):
ruddy foot down to win the game.

Speaker 7 (55:02):
The check us off that kick by Parker k is god.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
Do Nucky Lyons and over time?

Speaker 1 (55:08):
What it?

Speaker 3 (55:09):
What a Cunzi performance at California time. That was Steve
Jones from layer field.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
Right there is Penn State walks it off with the
field goal in overtime, overcoming a fourteen point halftime deficit
to defeat the USC Trojans thirty three to thirty. Penn
State still undefeated, six and zero start second year in
a row, and USC is now three and three and

(55:36):
Lincoln Riley is in trouble once again. This is Fox
Football Saturday. We're coming live from the tire rack dot
Com studios. Now, remember after the show, our podcast is
going up, So if you miss any of today's show.
Check out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts, and be sure to follow, rate
and review the podcast. Again, just search Fox Sports Radio

(55:57):
wherever you get your podcasts, and you'll see this show
posted right after we get off the air.

Speaker 4 (56:02):
Yeah, this Penn State win, You're not going to be
talking about Penn State winning.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
You're going to be talking about USC losing. That's going
to be the conversation here again.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
As we were trying to tell you, USC had the
ball at midfield with about two minutes remaining, just inside
two minutes to go, they had a first down at
midfield and three timeouts remaining.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
And did nothing.

Speaker 1 (56:23):
And you figure it all, right, So and then they
lost to on the first place. And now I had
second and twelve from your own forty nine yard line
and the clock was running, and then they got five
yards on the play and then they have third and
seven and they just let the clock run run, run
down to fourteen seconds. Penn State called a time out,

(56:46):
sc ran a play ball was intercepted, Penn State had
a hail mare at the end, goes to overtime, sc
missipfield goal. Penn State makes them this Lincoln Riley post
game is going to be unreal, Like, what exactly were
you thinking? With three timeouts in the morning remaining in midfield,
you get a couple first downs, then you let the

(57:06):
clock run down, get the field goal, and you walk
home with a win.

Speaker 4 (57:09):
With four seconds left in regulation. Penn State did more,
and USC did in ninety seconds.

Speaker 1 (57:15):
They ran an outplay to get themselves legit legit two
seconds there, Uh.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Huh a plan in four seconds they had.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
I kept looking at him, like, they have three timeouts left,
they didn't use any of them.

Speaker 4 (57:25):
Nothing, And then there was no sense of urgency from
anyone on the field. I just didn't get what was
going on. I was like, are we watching the same
game that they're in?

Speaker 3 (57:36):
Well, I tell you what I know.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
The USC fans well, and after last year's late season
collapse with your reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams and
a team that ranked you know, came in with national
championship aspirations this year they were going to be different,
especially going on the Big Ten. They've think they're what
one in three right now? Conference play one in three,
all three losses, but this one at home. Yeah, even

(58:01):
to their number four team when you're up twenty six
at a half time woo tough loss for USC to say,
the leaves very tough for Lank and Riley. All Right,
so NFL football tomorrow, of course, the day's going to
start in London, Monty with the Jaguars, and.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
This is like a home game for them.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
It really is, because they play in London every single
year and they need to treat it like a home
game because they're playing against a Bears team that even
though now Caleb Waing's coming out of his best game
of the year, no question about that, but it's still
a rookie.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
But I mean, you're Jacksonville. You have to win this game.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
But if the Bears win, all of a sudden, they're
four and two, right and very much in the playoff picture.

Speaker 2 (58:40):
A MESSI fourg two very much, but a win.

Speaker 4 (58:43):
And like you said, Caleb Williams, every week has looked
a little bit better, more comfortable with the team. But
the Bears still have a couple of holes and like
they still have a little bit to figure out, because
you know, they're like a brand new team that's been
put together. I get that, but yeah, the Jags, this
should be a home game. I've told you I don't
like London games. I feel like you have to throw

(59:03):
logic out the window because if this game was here,
I would.

Speaker 2 (59:06):
Be like, Oh, the Bears win. But yeah, you can't.

Speaker 4 (59:09):
You can't just eliminate the Jogs in this one. This
will be I think their twelfth game in London.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
No, I mean obviously their owner likes to play there.
There's been rumors for years that if a team moves
to London, it's going to be the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
So we'll see that. I'll play off.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
Another interesting game we haven't talked about tomorrow is the
Buccaneers on the road against the Saints. Remember the first
two games the Saints were the top of the league. Yeah,
forty points a game, they blew out Dallas and he's like, wow,
look at the Saints juggernaut.

Speaker 3 (59:36):
Three straight losses.

Speaker 1 (59:37):
Now they're at home going against the Buccaneers team and
a lot of people, including yours, truly questioning whether Baker
Mayfield coming off the big year last year. There's been
a pattern in his career of up and down, Like
he comes up, all he gets little hype, and all
of a sudden he comes back down. He has been
anything but down this year. Eleven touchdowns, only two picks.

(59:58):
The Bucks right now sitting at three and too. And
if they get this one on the road against the Saints,
then at least in the moment, they take control of
that NFC South, which.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
They really should.

Speaker 4 (01:00:07):
The Saints are gonna be playing with Spencer Rattler at quarterback.
The Buccaneers are the more complete team at this point.
I just want to know if Mike Evans and Marshawn
Lattimore are gonna fight again.

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
That's really what I'm tuning in for. To be honest
with you, I don't know if.

Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
Marshawn Lttimore is gonna play or not, but you know
that always happens. That's always part of this game.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
It is, it is, it is, But I don't know.
I mean, when watching the Saints, Derek Carr is he's
one of those quarterbacks that's just good enough, yeah, at
the same way of not quite good enough, but he's
not playing. I understand that. So that's been the big

(01:00:46):
thing for them so far.

Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
This has been a perfect example of one of those
quarterbacks that at times seems just good enough and at
other times seems not quite good.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Enough, and you would put Baker on the same.

Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Baker may I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
I think Baker Mayfield he just seems to have a
little more hood spot. Yes, yes, and when it's in
full display, he just you know, he's.

Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
Got that you know, perpetual chip on his shoulder.

Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Yes, two time walk on in college who ends up
winning a Heisman Trophy. You know, the ups and downs
he had in Cleveland. Next thing you know, he's a
third string quarterback with the Rams. It look like his
career is over. Comeback last year in Tampa and now
he's doing it again this year.

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
Baker Mayfield is one of those players that I feel like,
you don't see this a lot where he was I'm
gonna say hated, but not really hated in college because
of his antics a little bit immature. Right gets into
the NFL and it's still disliked because of the antics
that he had in college. He goes and does those
State Farm commercials and is dislike but he has gone

(01:01:51):
through so much adversity and I feel like now people
really like Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
No matter how down people get on Baker Mayfield, it
never wavers his self confidence. But I think Baker Leyfield
always believes in Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Even when no one else does.

Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
But through all of it, Yeah, it's mature and it's
just amazing to watch because I feel like now people
will say, oh, I didn't like him years ago, but
he's grown on me, and a lot of athletes can't
say that. Like when you're disliked, you're kind of disliked
and it stays that way.

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
So that'll be in one of the other big games tomorrow.
By the way, we got our picks coming up, and
we actually have a name of our Picks segment. Before
we do that, let's find out what is trending right now.
Be Fenn Brian Finley, who's going to have a long
day today. I'll be listening to you tonight. Are you
going to call in?

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Do you want me to?

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
I mean, yeah, that's the question.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Do you are you going to let me talk?

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
You know, that's the second question.

Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
I when I'm listening to you, I'm literally taking notes
because I because I know I'm going to talk to
you later. You heard me reference many things that were
in your show last week. You know I was listened.

Speaker 5 (01:02:57):
Yeah, yeah, Well, you guys are talking about picks yeah.
And I don't know if you saw this, but our
Fox Sports radio colleague, Colin Cowherd, he made his pick
on social media that USC today in college football was
going to beat number four Penn State. At the half,
Colin Coward put out a tweet and there was a video,
a little selfie video of him talking about at the

(01:03:19):
half when USC was up twenty to six that anybody
that is hating on Lincoln Riley, you owe him an apology.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
I don't know how that's going to hold up at
the end of this game. All right, well y, the
video is still love.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Here's the thing about Colin, and obviously, as people have
been in this business a long time, like both of us,
Colin since he moved to LA has really sort of
tried to become part of the scene.

Speaker 8 (01:03:43):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
He's been very supportive of the LA teams. And I
could have told him Lincoln Riley seems like a great guy,
but he's not an elite coach.

Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
He's just not. He's a quarterback coach, is what he is.
He's a quarterback coach. He's Cliff Kingsbury's who.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Who he is.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
That's who LINCA. Riley is.

Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
Even in his Oklahoma days. Look at the big games
they lost him. He's not an elite coach.

Speaker 5 (01:04:08):
He is going to be asked in this postgame press
conference which is going on right now, over and over
again about the decision of making or lack thereof when
his team. And again the final score, this one in
overtime with number four Penn State winning thirty three to
thirty but us he had the football under minutes ago,
all three of their timeouts in plus territory, and he
decides to not use even one of those timeouts. All

(01:04:31):
you need is a field goal. It looks as if
he's trying to play for overtime. He has no confidence
in his kicker. I don't know what he's doing, but
he totally shrivels under pressure.

Speaker 8 (01:04:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
Well, and again, you can get away with that at
some schools, you're not gonna get away with it. The
kind of money they're paying him. They gave him like
a fifteen million dollar house.

Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
And did you see this video as well?

Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
After the game, a couple of Penn State players took
the flag and planted it in the fifty yard line
and then James Franklin, the Ninney Lions head coach, runs
to midfield and says, guys, knock it off, get that
flag out of the fifty yard line where USC is,
you know, on their field. Doesn't sound send a good precedent.
But yeah, a lot of interesting things coming out of

(01:05:14):
this one. By the way, somebody who made themselves some
cash money in this game, Nitny Lions tied d Tyler
Warren seventeen catches. Wow, tied for the most ever by
an FBS tight end and he had the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
For two hundred and twenty four yards. Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:05:30):
That guy earned his money today in a big way. Yeah,
no question about it. Other games that are going on
right now, we do have number five Georgia up forty
one to twenty four against Mississippi State.

Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
That's late in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:05:43):
Number fourteen byu is handling Arizona forty one to nineteen.
That's late in the fourth quarter. You can watch that
game on Fox Television. Number eleven Notre Dame. They have
started back up their game. There was a lightning delay
forty nine to seven. They are towering over Stanford for
forty left fourth quarter. Their number eight Tennessee in Florida
scoreless a good ten minutes into their matchup and that

(01:06:06):
one has looks as if Florida has the football at
this point. To some of the notable finals that we
didn't mention earlier, a Red River rivalry goes Number one,
Texas is way thirty four to three of our number
eighteen Oklahoma, Quinn, you were standing in there as quarterback
had a touchdown throw. Number seven Alabama holds on and

(01:06:28):
they gritted out twenty seven to twenty five, and a
very nerve wracking finish where they nearly blew this against
South Carolina where South Carolina scored a LA touchdown. They
did not convert on the two point conversion, but they
did pick up the on side kick.

Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
They got it back.

Speaker 5 (01:06:42):
In plus territory had about forty seconds or so, and
then their quarterback in Sellers, threw a pick in the
end zone to seal the fate of the game. Cocks
number ten Clemson forty nine to fourteen winners over wake Forest.
Number twenty one Missouri wins forty five to three against
UMass a win for number twenty two pits per And
how about this score in overtime. Number twenty three Illinois

(01:07:05):
wins a shootout over Purdue fifty to forty nine. Yeah, Yeah,
that's college football. That is what college football is all about.
And the last thing I'll mention before I work in
hand off the microphone back over to you both. It
is the Alds Game five that we watched earlier today
in a day that was run a rampant with college football,

(01:07:26):
where the Cleveland Guardians come up with a seven to
three win. Lane Thomas had a grand slam seven to
three win against the Detroit Tigers, winning that decisive Game five,
setting up with a date coming up in the near
future with the New York Yankees Alcs best of seven series.
That's going to be something to watch. But a lot

(01:07:49):
of discussion around Lincoln Riley and what this press conference
is going to look like, a lot of fallout from it,
and as a UCLA fan, I'm not gonna say I'm
gonna enjoy.

Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
It, but I have just a sneaking suspicion no matter
how the UCLA game plays out tonight, that you're going
to have some mention about the USC game and Penn
State during that show.

Speaker 5 (01:08:10):
Absolutely, especially if UCLA doesn't play that well. Yeah, I've
got to give the Finns something there. It is when
they're one in five, what can we celebrate. We gotta
we stretch to find something. This is the genius of
it all.

Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
Understand your audience, that's part of it, right there, great
stuff as always be fan.

Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
There is Brian Finley, a very busy date. All right,
it is that time.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
This has been a segment that has had an interesting
start over the last several weeks. But now I understand
we can actually intro this next segment.

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
How about that it's a visual AISI and gentlemen.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Well, now, originally Ricky who helped put that together, I
assured him maybe maybe geniuses is a little general because
through the first several weeks there was like one genius and.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
That was it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
He's talking about himself Mary up until his past week.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Yeah, one genius and it was not me. Let's put
it out.

Speaker 1 (01:09:13):
However, there was a big flip last week. Can we
get an update on the standings?

Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
Patrick?

Speaker 6 (01:09:19):
Oh, you got it all right, So perspective here. So Moncey,
prior to last week, the score was you were nine
to five, Steve was seven and seven. Kind of the
wins and losses don't really matter, it's just about the lead.
You had a two point or two game lead on
Steve with just winning points with this last week because
of some over unders and some.

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
Bolds and whatnot.

Speaker 6 (01:09:40):
Have yous moncey, you are with nine and eight, Well,
we're just not really going to count the losses. You're
nine points, Steve's eleven. He's now jumped in top four,
he's now ahead by two.

Speaker 7 (01:09:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
No, I went on three last week with my straight
up here.

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
And then I got an over underpick. Right, Is that correct?

Speaker 6 (01:09:56):
Yes, you did get an over under. In fact, Steve,
you actually God, yeah, you just got one. You got
one of them.

Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
It was a technically Sam Darnold was out.

Speaker 6 (01:10:07):
For one for one play, thank you very much for
one play, all right?

Speaker 1 (01:10:13):
That we have this option to throw it out a
bold prediction, and I made that bull prediction. It turned
out right, all right, So wow, that is quite a turnaround.
I'm I would like to say I'm feeling good about myself.

Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
That would be ridiculous. I'm never feeling good about myself
with my pick.

Speaker 6 (01:10:29):
Well, after these three games, I'm gonna listen to you guys,
how good are you all gonna be feeling on this one?

Speaker 5 (01:10:35):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
So I picked him out perfectly, all right?

Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
So we have no four warning on the games to
Patrick picks who we have up first.

Speaker 6 (01:10:41):
All right, So spoiler alert, there's not gonna be any
Seahawks or Vikings on this list, so we're clear of that, ladies, gentlemen.
So uh, with that said, we are going to go
into another division. Here we have the Buccaneers taking on
the Saints. It's an NSC South Division game over under
his forty two point five, I have Saints our home

(01:11:01):
and our new leader in the clubhouse, mister Cannonball Hartman himself.

Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
What are you taking?

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
Well, we were talking about this game in the last segment,
and again, as Monsey points out, car is not a
quarterback for the Saints in this game. This would seem
on paper the Buccaneers about three and a half point
favorite on the road to.

Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
Be a Bucks win. This is the kind of game
where the Bucks lose.

Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
For some unforeseen reason, like we were hyping up Baker
Mayfield and all of a sudden that other Baker Mayfield
shows up. I'm gonna I'm gonna roll with the Saints
at home in this game. So I'm gonna go with
the Saints at home.

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
I am definitely not taking the Saints at home. I
think the Buccaneers are the more complete team, especially on Honestly,
it's the fact that the Saints are putting out a
rookie quarterback against a team that I think is jelling
really well. I mean, it's not just Baker Mayfield, Chris Godwin,
Mike Ed, Mike Evans. They are all out there performing.

(01:12:08):
I don't see the Buccaneers losing this one. I'm taking
Tampa Bay all.

Speaker 6 (01:12:12):
Right over unders forty two and a half. So if
YO want to do the over or under or any
bold predictions on anything here there, speak now or forever
hold thy piece.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
I am going to I'm not going to touch the
over under me neither, right that that number is pretty
uh yeah right, I'm going to make a bold prediction.

Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
So so I'm thinking the Saints to win this game.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Hit me, Steve, what is it that Baker Mayfield will
not be the quarterback with the most touchdown passes in
this game?

Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
Wow, you're gonna give Rattler the most. Spencer.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Rattler will have more touchdown passes in this game than
Baker Mayfield. Touchdown passes touchdowns not touchdown scored, got touchdown
passes And if it's a tie that doesn't count. He
will have more touchdown passes more than Baker Mayfield. Is
that a bold prediction?

Speaker 8 (01:13:06):
That is bold?

Speaker 3 (01:13:07):
I'm gonna go with it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
I don't have a bold one for this one.

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
And that is fine.

Speaker 7 (01:13:11):
We could do.

Speaker 6 (01:13:11):
We do the second one quickly here with this one
before we go to the last one. We have the
Commanders and the Ravens. Ravens are home and they are
fifty one point than fifty one point five is the
over under.

Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
That's a big number, big number, like at all.

Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
You know, if we were talking about the spread, it
would be like, oh, the Commander's cover for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
This is an interesting one.

Speaker 4 (01:13:36):
The Commanders, you know, two of the top scoring offenses
going up against each other.

Speaker 6 (01:13:42):
Here.

Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
The Ravens have a really good run defense, but their
pass defense is actually one of the worst. Right now,
do the Commanders really run the ball? That's Brian Robinson
Junior out. I This is one that's hard for me
because I think the Commanders can pull the upset. But
I thought that last week with all the picks I had,
so I have to I think really think about my

(01:14:05):
decision here, Fellas based on what I did last week.
I don't think Baltimore wins by seven at all, but
I think Baltimore wins.

Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
Okay, yeah, I've got to go the Ravens in this game,
but I'm gonna I'm gonna go the other.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Under on this game.

Speaker 1 (01:14:20):
Oh we're going I'm going under under and the under
is going to be the Commanders. I think this is
a reality check for the Commanders in this game. I
think the Ravens. If we were taking the spread, I
would say the Ravens cover.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
You do, I think?

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
But I mean, and the numbers big, and I think
the Ravens will score plenty. I think the Commanders are
running up against the team, but they're gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
Get a little exposed.

Speaker 8 (01:14:42):
I'm rooting.

Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
I like Jayden Daniels a lot, obviously from what I've
seen so far, but this is one of those.

Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
Any anyone that thinks that this team's gonna run away
with the NFC East is getting ahead of their skins.

Speaker 4 (01:14:54):
The Ravens defense hasn't been great, well, no, it hasn't been.

Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
But in this game, I think the Ravens will show
up to fense.

Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
I think they're gonna they're winning. I just am shocked
that you think that. You sound like you're saying the
Ravens number.

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
The number is huge, fifty one an hours.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
It's huge.

Speaker 6 (01:15:08):
It's huge.

Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
I'm going under bolds or.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
No bolds, I say, Derrick Henry.

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Oh, okay, Okay is.

Speaker 4 (01:15:19):
The winner in here, and he's the one that's going
to rush for three touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
Ooh, three touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (01:15:24):
I like the bold monk.

Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
I think that's how the Ravens win this game.

Speaker 3 (01:15:27):
True, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
On the other side, we have one more game to
get to in our picks.

Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
Keep it here. This is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (01:15:35):
Steve Harvey, Montsi Belanos here, Fox Football Saturday. We're coming
alive from the tire rack dot Com Studios. Want to
thank our incredible crew today, Brian finleyb Fenn, give it
us the updates on a very busy Saturday. Mary Mack
fighting through sleepless nights to perform at an A plus
level throughout the show today.

Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Mary Mack amazing as always.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Thank you, Thanks Carol and then of course Patrick are
brilliant produced here who will continue on with one more game.
By the way, Ohio State has scored first, so they
take an early seven to nothing lead on the road
against Oregon. No score Ole miss in LSU number nine
versus thirteen, and Florida has taken an early three to

(01:16:17):
nothing lead on the road against number eight Tennessee. I
can't wait to sit down and watch the rest of
the Ohio State Oregon game. But Ohio State motoring down
the field quite easily to get a touchdown on their
opening drive. Who is the number one team of the country?
Texas looked every bit that today blowing out Oklahoma, Ohio
State Oregon. Which one will emerge today as the number

(01:16:39):
two team in the country?

Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
All right, Patrick, we have one more game.

Speaker 6 (01:16:43):
Oh yes we do, and it's not going to be
an easy one to pick. I'll tell you what, because
the last one is the Lions in Dallas against the Carowboys.
Over under is fifty two point five. But they're in
Jerry's world. Both teams are kind of well or well,
we don't know. And you know what, Monzi, who are

(01:17:05):
we feeling here in Jerie?

Speaker 4 (01:17:08):
It's funny that you say that this is a tough one,
because for me, there's no question about it. I think
the Lions win this one. The Cowboys are not good
at home. The whole game means nothing to Dallas, honestly,
and the Lions, I think are off of bye week,
so they're gonna be rested, and the Cowboys are just like,
I don't know, I don't know what the Cowboys are doing,

(01:17:29):
which I.

Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
Feel like is the same thing every year.

Speaker 4 (01:17:31):
No, I'm taking the Lions easily on this one, taking
down the Cowboys in Dallas.

Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Cowboys are three and zero on the road and oh
on two at home. Right.

Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
I agree with you, Moncey on this point. The Lions
are a better team than Cowboys. They are, yeah, that
being said, and the Lions are a three and a
half point favorite on the road. This to me smells
a little bit like the earlier game between Tampa and
New Orleans, where the road team seems to be right
now the better team and are favorite and the home team.

Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
Not playing well. The Cowboys were might pick preseason to
win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
You didn't mean that though.

Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
Actually I'm not a Cowboys fan, so I tried to
give him the suretkiss of death. But that being said,
I'm going to roll the dice on the Cowboys at home.

Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
Yeah. Yeah, it does smell like a trap game.

Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
It could be.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
It could be. No, I do have a bold prediction.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
What's your bold prediction?

Speaker 1 (01:18:36):
My bold prediction is Jared goffwold have an incomplete pass.

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
That's not.

Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
He was eighteen of eighteen last week.

Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
Would have been that he goes eighteen of eighteen again.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
I guess that's yes, no bold prediction.

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
He's just cracking jokes here.

Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
Eighteen for eighteen against Seattle because Seattle had literally their
third string. Everything in half their defense was arged, happened.

Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
And they were still in it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
I know, still in I know.

Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
By the way, I want to ask you guys about
a game, the Monday night game Bills Jets. Yeah, do
you think that the Jets without Robert Sala, who is
a horrifically bad coach, will rebound and actually beat the
Bills at home? Because I tell you this, home dogs
on Monday night football are usually the safest bet on

(01:19:29):
the board, and they're a home dog at home.

Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
I'm actually glad Patrick didn't ask us for this game.

Speaker 4 (01:19:34):
Because I really wouldn't know what to pick, because, yeah,
the Jets are coming off of this like, all right,
a fresh start, let's get going.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
I I don't know. I think the Jets.

Speaker 9 (01:19:44):
I feel like there's a reason why VJ calls them
the ass Jets, So I feel like the Bills, I
gonna win, though, I think the Jets get it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:55):
I think the Jets make it really really close.

Speaker 1 (01:19:57):
If Aaron Rodgers has any gas left in the tank,
Annie the spylight of Monday Night football against the Bills,
that could actually get him right back in the AFC
East Race.

Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
Could be it. Keep it here. This is Fox Sports
