Speaker 2 (00:04):
That's right Martin Wise and Carrie Rhodes broadcasting live here
from the ti rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Tyrack dot Com.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Well up, you get there with an unmaxed election fast
free shipping fruit as a protection over ten thousand recommend
to his dollars, tire rack dot Com sway that tire
buying should be Carrie, I'm excited to be here on
a red zone radio. Yeah, at the anchor desk several times,
but to be here behind the desk that this is
what this is, what is made for this date.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
All that time lead up in the weed that's practice.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Right here, this is it all right. So right now
in the four o'clock slate, the Vikings and the Seahawks
tied seven apiece New England with a fourteen to nothing
lead over Buffalo. Right now, Ramandre Stevenson going into the
end zone as Monty Bilanos finished her update right there
at New England right now with a two touchdown lead
with fourteen sixteen left in the first half. Jacksonville just
(00:52):
scored a touchdown over the Raiders with a minute thirty
and a minute left in the first quarter. Between the
forty nine ers and the Dolphins. Dolphins with the field goal,
forty nine ers with the ball. Earlier today we did
see the look to me, the first game, the craziest
game of the first slate was the Commanders and the
Eagles watching Jayden and Daniels. We heard the radio call
(01:14):
from Manchie's update, We're watching Jayden Daniels and that Commander's
team overcome not one, not two, not three, but five
turnovers on the way to beating a team that previously
to this had lost three games. Of course, Jalen Hurst
lost with the concussion. Where do you want to start
in that game?
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah, I think it's just I think it's that I
think it's being able to bounce back, not seven, eight, nine, ten. Yeah,
I think it's then been able to bounce back and
stay tough. I mean, this is going to be obviously
at the division game, it's going to be tough. It's gonna
be ups and downs. They were able to uh to
weather the storm, so to speak. And you know, I
think for everybody that's everybody that's listening and everybody that
(01:52):
watched that game earlier, it was I guess a stamp
for Jaydon Daniels and that's that offensive rookie MVP.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Because as the season had progressed.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
We saw little Murky, we got a little market, we
got we saw bo Nicks kind of be mergers. But
I think this is he cemented and planted his flag
for today. And now you know, the Commanders are firmly
in the playoffs. So Commander's firmly in the playoffs. Eagles
will be as well.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
But I know one team that took a deep breath
of relief after this game, and it was the Detroit Lions,
knowing that even though they won today, the Eagles were
limping on their heels. Let's focus in now on that
Lions and the Bears.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Now it's time for the NFL on Fox Focus.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
And we'll do just that with Jonathan Billman's Fox NFL
analysts called the game today Lions and the Bears at Chicago. Jonathan,
I know you were called up there in that press box.
I had to be freezing out there in Chicago.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
Yeah, it's a little chilly out here. But the game's done.
So now I'm good.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
I'm in the warm car, glad to hear. I had
a question, man, because look, I know that the final
score of this game wasn't that close. And we saw
a lot of the Lions offense and probably more so
importantly of the Lions de right in their ability to
overcome some of the injuries that they've had in this matchup.
How did you feel about the Lions playing defensively? Caleb
Williams did have a pretty good game.
Speaker 7 (03:09):
Yeah, yeah, defensively. The DNA for Dan Campbell Aaron Glenn
is to stop the run first, and the way that
division works, whoever controls the ground and pound is more
than likely going to win the game. So Caleb did
have a good game three hundred yards passing, but they
(03:32):
only had less than fifty yards rushing. And if you
can't run the ball, especially in this division, regardless of
unless you got an Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, I mean,
you're more than likely not going to win. So understanding
how Aaron Glenn Dan Campbell kind of view their view
(03:52):
of the defense and what is a good performance regardless
of Caleb's numbers, I thought the defense perform well JV.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I know, the one two punch was missing knuckles today
and we saw Jamar Gabbs get a I mean, I
think probably the most carriers he's had in a while
with twenty three, right, I mean, obviously the production is
going to be there, but will he be able to
sustain that without without his partner?
Speaker 7 (04:18):
I think he can carry. He's so explosive that he
doesn't take a lot of hits. You rarely see someone
tackling him flush and Dan Campbell's very mindful. Once he
once he hits that high number twenty three, twenty four carries,
you know, he kind of shuts him down. And you
saw that happen where they started bringing Craig Reynolds. He
(04:39):
started running the football, so I see, I see the
offense still revolving around him. Get him touches, get production,
gain the lead. Once you get that lead, then you
kind of just he'll taper off, slow him down. As
far as the number of touches.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
We saw Ben Jonson call one of his this point.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
I feel like Pat n the trick plays up to
a few scores, the fake fumble as a former player
and as a commentary as a former player, when you
see a guy we're up a few scores there and
they run a trick play, how does that like, how
does your reaction as a defender at that moment?
Speaker 7 (05:16):
I mean, you want to be mad, but he's been
doing it all season long, and really it's about stopping it.
So it's like, you know, if you don't want him
to run it, stop all right, don't let him get
down there. So, you know, it's always one of those
that from the outside looking in it's like, oh man,
this guy with a jerk, But when you see what
he's done all season long and you kind of realize,
(05:38):
like that that's just his style, that's his mo and
you got to stop them.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
J B.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
I mean, there's so many creative play callers in the league,
but you know, Ban Johnson obviously, I think it's the
cream of the crop. When when we talk about that,
I mean, obviously all that stuff that they run, we've
seen it before, but just the wrinkles, the creativity that
he throws in. I mean, talk about him. I'm sure
you have some some talks with himout this throughout this week,
like how is he as a guy?
Speaker 7 (06:05):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Can you hear me?
Speaker 7 (06:07):
Yeah? I can hear you.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
I said, I was I was talking about Ben Johnson.
I was saying, like, it's a lot of creat like
a lot of creative play callers in the league now,
But for me, he seems to be the cream of
the crop. When you sit down and talk to him,
which I'm sure you probably have throughout this week and
leading up to the game. How is he as a guy?
Is he? Is he a big, big thinker? Obviously I was.
I would think that's yes, But what kind of drives
him with his creativity?
Speaker 7 (06:29):
Yeah, he is big at when I talk to me,
he's big at matchups. He's big at building a formation
to get the matchup he wants or a personnel group.
He's very meticulous and understanding what the defense is gonna
run depending on what he puts out there. Uh So
(06:52):
that's how he forget the trick plays and all that.
But it's just how he knows when to be aggressive,
when to take a shot. So an eighty two yard
bomb to Jamison Williams, he knew what he was going
to get. He knew there was going to be that opportunity,
and so he always takes. You know, there's like four
plays in the game where it's one of those. All right,
(07:15):
Jared Jared Goff, I'm referring to Jared go In have
at it, like get the ball down the field or
whatever it is. So they when they execute those plays,
you get these touchdowns and it looks great, they're high flying,
and then you know, if you don't, they go back
and still do what they always do with is start
with the running game and then play action. So I
(07:36):
like that he's very, very methodical as far as the
first part of executing on the basics of running the football,
and then he takes those opportunities where he knows you
are going to get this type of personnel group, this
type of defense coverage, et cetera, and we exploit it.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
I got a follow up for your really before you
go in uh with Caleb. I mean, we know about Detroit.
We know they're a jugger out on offense that can score.
Defense is going to be the I think the pressing
issue with them in the playoffs, because you know, it's
one game. It's the one game tournament. If the team
comes in hot like Buffalo did last week, it can
be a long game. But I want to talk about
Caleb Williams, and you know, he had a really good
(08:20):
game today twenty six to forty three hundred and thirty
four yards, two touchdowns. He looked pretty good. What's going
to be the key for him moving forward and being
able to get that team to, I guess, execute at
a high level enough to win in the NFL.
Speaker 7 (08:34):
Play action is going to be the big thing. I
have yet to see him really perform at a high
level with his back to the defense in play action
and then continuing to throw on time. It's not early,
which that part I think I'm pretty confident he will
(08:55):
do that. Play action is the one that I'm not
sure because I haven't seen him yet. And if you
look at the quarterbacks in the NFC North, all of
them excel in play action. Sam Darnold does a great job.
Jared Goff, we already know same thing with Jordan Love.
And you know, you have to win your division first
(09:17):
and foremost, and the only way to win is to
be able to build a roster offensive defensive scheme that's
going to be able to compete. And right now, they
sit back and drop back pass. It looks good for
Caleb's numbers, but they're not winning games with this. And
so if you're in that division, you got to understand
(09:38):
what wins games in Dynasty North, and it's not going
to be just sit there, drop back thirty forty times
a game. So whoever comes in as a coach, whatever
offense they want to install, if they want to win
the North, they're going to have to install an offense
where you have the run game which works, and then
you have a past one or two play off of
(10:00):
that run, you have another run play, you have one
or two pass plays off of that, and Caleb is
going to have to be able to take to play
out the fake, have his back to the defense, turn around,
make the quick decision that the ball was supposed to
be and that's how you gonna have success. If not,
it's just too easy to read run past the way
(10:21):
they are now, and it's too easy to defend.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Jonathan, I know we have for a minute. I want
to ask you one quick last one though. Thomas Brown
is this second year in a row that he's been
as placed as an interim head coach of a team
that was, you know, struggling, had a young quarterback. What
do you know about him like and your talks with
him this week preparing to call this game? What did
he what was your impression of him? Because I'm just
(10:44):
genuinely curious as a guy who seemed to be thrust
into this spot the second year in a row after
Carolina and ou Chicago.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
Well, first, I'm very impressed with in the way he
handles it, the way that he interview, he's with us,
the message that he tells us, he's delivering to the team.
Very impressed. The second is knowing a little bit of
his background where he had he was a running back,
(11:13):
had an opportunity to play in the NFL, got hurt,
didn't make a team, that went into coaching. He was
at Georgia and then he was with Sean McVay and
he and Sean McVay obviously hit it off well, and
Sean McVay thinks the world of him. So I know
he takes a lot of what McVeigh does, his philosophy,
(11:34):
that culture he tries to implement that. Uh, you know,
the issue becomes for him how much rain freedom does
he really have to do what he wants to do
as the head coach because he's a minium, Right, So
you're stuck with basically the scheme that you put in
(11:55):
in training camp, right. Well, his scheme nos Shane Waldron,
So he had to work with You're struggle the defensive
scheme was that what he wanted to run. No, it's
what Eva Foutz wonder run, but you're stuck with it.
So it's always tough for an interim head coach to
come in. He can't make wholesale, sweeping changes. He has
(12:16):
to play within the you know that framework, and I
think he handles it well. I mean, it's not showing
up and wins and losses. But you do see a
quarterback that's getting a young quarterback that's getting better. You
see a defense that has the ability to play with
anyone if they so choose. The consistency needs to be there.
So doubt that he ends up as a permanent head
(12:37):
coach for the Bears, sure, but wherever he ends up,
he's going to have that experience.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Jonathan, thanks for joining us here on Red Zone Radio
on Fox Sports Radio. That's Jonathan Vilma, Fox NFL analysts
just called the lines in the Bears games. I think
had a busy day so far. Thanks for taking a
little bit of your time.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
Thank you, brother, I appreciate it. Appreciate Kary good the
year from me.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
As always always, brother. All Right, we had a development
happening in some of these late games. A receiver they
said was washed. Did he just jumping the way back machine?
Because that looked like a few years ago.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
I'll tell you who. Update on the scores as well.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Coming up next Martin Weiskerry Roads, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 8 (13:25):
A big play that was but right back they get
the first depot fight sport plot, an effort, depot into the.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
End zone put the San Francisco touchdown. That's right, that's right.
I just said it going to break. I thought you
might have been washed, but that right there was not washed.
As we watched Deebo Samuel run over three Miami defenders,
shout out to CBS for the call.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
As the Miami Dolphins go into the end zone. The
score in that game right now seven.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I'm sorry, it's to Miami Dolphins the San Francisco forty
nine rather going through the end zone seven and six.
To score, Miami had to score a touchdown, two field
goals by the field goal kicker there. But that played
by Deebo Shamuel is what everybody has been waiting for
this entire season.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Now that they are officially eliminated.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
For the playoffs. I guess we get it.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Are they already officially eliminated?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
I believe they got eliminated earlier. The Cowboys, yes they are.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Cowboys are eliminated, and the Cardinals are eliminated from contention
in the I didn't I didn't need the last one.
I just wanted. I just wanted to.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
I need it because we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Have to talk about that.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
I'm being serious. I'm saving it for a moment when
one of these games.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Is that a little bit of the law. But we're
gonna talk about what happened to the Arizona Cardinals. Yeah,
but Deebo Shamuel here in the San Francisco for a
ninerge into the end zone.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Yeah, de Bo de Bo just got to catch the ball.
I mean, obviously once he he's known for his run
out to catch. So if he catches it, I mean,
we can see this and we can see probably the
glimpses of who he was prior to this season. But
he has to catch the ball first. But big play
right here put them up seven to six against the Dolphins,
and the Dolphins still have, I guess something to play
(15:05):
for in this game, so they need to bounce back
and try to get a stop. But big play by
Deebo here.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yeah, it's a big play by Deebo. And as we
see two teams, I think Miami not sure they're still
still there's still alive, I mean on life support and
the monitors going beat Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Slower than that.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
So Justin Jefferson get into the end zone earlier here
in this Seattle Minnesota game, much as the chagrin of
Dan Bayer, who's normally sitting in this seat, Justin Jefferson's
turned it on the last few weeks he had he
was going kind of touchdown silent, but.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
He's been the last two weeks gotten into the end zone.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Yeah, no, yeah, it was it was a drought and
he was able to get a couple here and back
to back weeks. Obviously, the game plan going in is
to eliminate him and not let him beat them. But
when you have the emergence of of a Jordan Addison
who's starting to pick up the slack there, then you
got to put a little bit more even and he's
probably say a little bit more one on on coverage,
but they also Minnesota does a good job of moving
(16:03):
him around as well, and so you can't double him
as much.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Sam Donald spreading the ball around to those two as well,
Jefferson with six targets, both with six targets. Jefferson five
catches fifty two yards and a touchdown, Jordan Edison four
catches thirty three yards and a touchdown as well. All right, now,
I know that his team is not a top the
top the standings in his division or a top the NFC.
But that's just because the Lions are running things right now,
(16:28):
and they have an opportunity in week eighteen to separate
themselves and to go ahead and right that wrong the
Minnesota does. Why isn't Sam Donald the NFL MVP?
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Oh, I mean, I mean, I know it sounds crazy.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
I said it just all you know happens to It
sounds nuts. Yeah. If you had told me three and
six five days ago that somebody would be on national
radio asking why is it Sam Donald the VP?
Speaker 3 (16:49):
I tell turn Colin Carroll's radio off?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
No, but no. But seriously, though, when you look at this,
I mean, he's playing at a high level. His team's
atop the NFS would be a top the NFC North
at the line had fallen at any point in time.
It's not like they're they've only lost two games or
five to one on the road, So it's not that,
you know, you can't tear them down and bring up
somebody else, or tear anybody else down to bring them up.
They're right there in contention.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Yeah, I think I mean with him, yes, I think
a lot of people see him as as O'Connell's project, right,
and so he would get more credit and what's happening
than Sam Donald would. Then there was a stretch during
the season where he played a little slow. It was
a little bit of you know, he's throwing some interceptions.
He was looking like, you know, he was going to
revert back to the older Sam Sam Donald. So this
(17:36):
isn't the case. He's playing really well, but he wouldn't
be in the MVP, I guess running just because of that.
But also if this is a different year and you
didn't have Lamar Jackson and you didn't have Josh Allen
playing to where they're playing, plus throw Sa Kwon Barkley
in that mix, then he may be there. But right
now I think he's probably cemented as you know, the
fifth or sixth person in that in that running does.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Go ahead and curve over there to Josh Allen, whose
team right now trailing the New England Patriots. There were
two fourteen point favorites on the board this week. Carry
Now you know me, I'm a gambling man. That's how
it are. Okay, I pretend to be pro there where
you were actually a professional football player. But there were
fourteen two point two fourteen point favorites. One of them
(18:19):
was Buffalo, the other one was Green Bay on Monday night.
Right now, this one trailing by seven as Drake May
throws out of the back of his end zone. And
the seven that Buffalo has was really just a long
James Cook run. Not much on offense since and we're
already seven minutes into the second quarter.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
Yeah, I when I saw that spread, I saw that.
I saw it early.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
I was like, there's no way they're gonna beat New England,
this bad game and the cold.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
And I mean also they came up a big win
last week as well, So just that natural letdown of
going into Detroit, you know, beating a team that they
could possibly see later on down down the stretch.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Here, big big let down.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
You're playing the Patriots, who aren't good and then you
have a quarterback in Drake May that you know, I
think I've seen and a lot of people have seen
so much so I mean so much promise in him
as a player. To come into a situation like this,
it's gonna be a hard game. It's gonna be a
hard fall game. So for New England to be up
fourteen seven, I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised about where
(19:21):
we are right now.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
And so for me too. The other thing about New
England because you look like at some of these teams,
like you look at a team like Vegas or Jacksonville
who are playing a matchup that, let's be honest, probably
won't get much airtime.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
As we spend the next two and a half hours.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
On Red Zone Radio. Is that's the one with no
playoff teams involved. But those teams, some of those teams,
you're looking at people getting fired after this year. You
do all the stories of what's gonna happen in Vegas
on the changes. You know, Tom Brady is part of
the ownership group. Now, people don't buy teams to keep
them the same, right you know, in Jacksonville, Doug Peterson's
(19:56):
been on the hot seats since the literally the start
of the year, right England, to me, they have no
reason to have dysfunction among themselves, like they're trying to
figure out, trying to build their program, and you're one
of a new coach, you're one of a new quarterback.
While their records are very similar to those other two
teams in Jacksonville, Vegas. Jacksonville, Vegas, those guys are renting,
(20:18):
not buying New England. They're buying, you know, they're thinking,
we're gonna trying to build this for next two three years.
Here they need this one unless they need is strong.
They need to be competitive in games like this if
they want to be able to go and build off
something for next year. Oh for sure.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
A Craft already came out and said that Mayo will
be back. So yes, you talk about a solid situation
where again, yes, you're you're able to have time to
build your program. You got to get your players to
buy in, but also show some promise for next year.
And obviously the years they're they're not congruent, right they don't.
You don't run this season and runs to the next,
and so there is there will be carry over, but
(20:53):
we need to see that the plan that Mayo has
is something that sustainable, and so if he gets to
players to buy in and play hard down the stretch,
it'll carry some cache anti next year.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
It sure will. Well, let's go ahead and kick it.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
I saw the bottom line Saquon Barkley one hundred and
fifty yards, two touchdowns in a loss, in a loss.
That's crazy. For the rest of everything else that happened
in the NFL today, let's go over and watch the Bolanos.
Who's got that.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
I'm sure everything else college football.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Playoff and more.
Speaker 9 (21:21):
I can even tell you about the College of Volleyball
Championship happening right now.
Speaker 5 (21:24):
Wait, is Louisville winning They're not.
Speaker 10 (21:27):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. They they won a second state,
so they're in it. But right now, in the third set,
Penn status up.
Speaker 9 (21:34):
Not that our listeners are tuning in for volleyball scores,
but you know I got that on as well.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
I did watch a lot of the Penn State in
Nebraska semis Oh so good. I watched way more than
I expected to.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
It's so good.
Speaker 9 (21:45):
You know, women's volleyball is better than men's volleyball because
there's more rallying.
Speaker 10 (21:49):
Men's just spike and hit, you know, like and it's over.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (21:53):
Women, there's like a lot of rallying, so it's exciting
real quick. Before I give you the current score. Saquon Barkley, Yes,
he ended with one hundred and fifty yards, but he
had a one to zh nine in the first quarter,
so we'll dive into that in a second. It looks
like Seattle has just added another touchdown Gino Smith connecting
with Jackson Smith and Jigbub, But the Seahawks are losing
to the Vikings seventeen fourteen.
Speaker 10 (22:13):
They're headed to halftime as we speak. The Patriots, you guys.
Speaker 9 (22:16):
Were just talking about, are beating the Bills fourteen seven
with five minutes to go in the first half. You
didn't mention that Josh Allen through an interception, like a
fifty yard touchdown pass that intercepted in the end zone,
and that's how the Patriots got the ball back. The
Raiders took the lead with the field goal, so now
they're beating the Jaguars ten to seven.
Speaker 10 (22:31):
Early in the second quarter.
Speaker 9 (22:33):
Yes, Deebo Samuel in the end zone connected with Brockburry
what exactly, and the forty nine ers are edging the
Dolphins as we speak seven to six halfway through the
second quarter. Yes, the Commanders ten and five, best through
fifteen games since nineteen ninety one for Washington come back
to beat the Eagles thirty six to thirty three. Philadelphia
(22:54):
lost Jalen Hurts in the first quarter due to a concussion.
They were on a roll. Twenty one points I think
is what they scored in the first quarter. Sakuon Barkley
had two touchdowns one hundred and nine yards. Everything kind
of changed.
Speaker 10 (23:04):
Can pick it had to come in the game.
Speaker 9 (23:06):
Commanders had five turnovers. It didn't matter. Jayden Daniels willed
them to win five touchdown passes. The last one came
to Jamison Crowder with six seconds left to give them
the lead.
Speaker 10 (23:17):
They win it again. Commanders beat the Eagles.
Speaker 9 (23:19):
The Lions now are thirteen and two, their most wins
in a season in franchise history.
Speaker 10 (23:23):
They topped the Bears thirty four seventeen.
Speaker 9 (23:26):
Jared Goff threw for three hundred and thirty six yards
and three touchdowns, including an eighty two yard touchdown pass
to Jamison Williams, who ended with five catches and one
hundred and forty three yards in a losing effort. Keenan
Allen nine catches one hundred and forty one yards and
a touchdown for Chicago. The Falcons now eight and seven,
most wins for Atlanta since twenty seventeen.
Speaker 10 (23:45):
They crushed the Giants thirty four to seven.
Speaker 9 (23:47):
Bejon Robinson twenty two carries ninety four yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 10 (23:51):
The Bengals still alive. They outscored the Browns twenty four
to six.
Speaker 9 (23:54):
Give it up though, for Miles Garrett, first player in
NFL history to reach one hundred sacks before turning twenty.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Wait, Miles Garrett's only he's not even twenty nine years
old yet.
Speaker 10 (24:03):
He's twenty nine. Yeah, before turning twenty nine. You're right
before one hundred sacks. So give it up to Miles Garrett.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Over there.
Speaker 10 (24:11):
Colts hold on to beat the Titans thirty eight to thirty.
Speaker 9 (24:13):
Jonathan Taylor twenty nine carries two undred and eighteen yards
and three touchdowns, including a sixty five yard and a
seventy yard rushing touchdown. I know Ryan and I were
wondering how many fantasy people benched him because they were
mad from last week, and then he, you know, goes
off this week.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
He got it.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yep.
Speaker 9 (24:32):
The Panthers with the thirty six to thirty win over
the Cardinals in overtime.
Speaker 10 (24:36):
Arizona has been elimited. I'm sorry, carry from the playoffs.
I'm sorry, Shoeba.
Speaker 9 (24:41):
Hobbard twenty five carries one hundred and fifty two yards
and two touchdowns, including the game winner in ot the
Rams defeated the Jets nineteen to nine. Kira and Williams
twenty three carries one hundred and twenty two yards and
a touchdown in that one. And now, because of all
of this, as you guys mentioned, the forty nine Ers
and the Cowboys have been mathematically the math is mathin
the math, They're out.
Speaker 10 (25:00):
They're out, Audios. You know what I'm saying, peace back
to you guys.
Speaker 8 (25:05):
I mean, I mean in such a disgusting way, really though,
really though.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Eliminated from the postseason.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
And if you're asking carry, look look how I'm looking
at yard now because.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
I take the last spent a lot of time on
these airways singing the praises of one Arizona Cardinals, the
NFC West Wide Open, San Francisco's gonna fall apart. The
Rams are old Cardinals. Kyler Murray got back last season.
We played really well to take it after second half,
second year in the new system.
Speaker 7 (25:35):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Nope exactly.
Speaker 10 (25:37):
Bryce Young said not today.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
I love you.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
I love that, so I'm happy for him. But yeah,
the Cardinals really, they really wet the bed today. It
was one of those things where I was looking forward
to because my prediction wes the Rams are going to
win the NFC West and so that still looks good.
But I wanted that game next week against the Cardinals
to mean something, to be, you know, one of those
primetime games for the week and they come out and
fall behind, ear lead to the Panthers, and the Panthers
(26:01):
didn't let go. The Panthers have been playing well the
last four weeks too, so.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
I'd say even if you last four or five weeks
even maybe like they should have beaten the Eagles. Yeah,
that game, after which AJ Brown had the passing comment. Yeah,
I know, it all gets mixed up in the wash
like last week. I just just yesterday I forgot that
the Steelers and Eagles even played right, and I was like,
it's so many games, it's so fast, it's so high flying.
(26:24):
But that Carolina Panthers team if Xavier Legett catches that
ball in the end zone, they would go up on
They'd go up four on Philly in a game in
which Philly had passed for one hundred and eight yards total. Right,
you know what I'm saying Like that, that could have
been a real sticky situation. So seeing this game, and
(26:45):
you know the other thing about the Eagles, Monti was
talking about it in their update, how they were just rolling.
You're not off the Cardinals train, don't worry. I'm just
trying to talk about teams that actually are in the playoffs.
Right now, when these games go to halftime, we're gonna
have a talk about your Arizona Cardinals. I'm done, right,
But you know, before today the Eagles had scored do
you know what their average points scored in the first
(27:08):
quarter was? The top in the league is seven point five.
The bottom in the league one point four points.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Scored in the first quarter on average one point four.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
One point four is the worst, Right, that's the gap.
That's the gap seven and a half yeap to one
point four. Where do you think the Eagles fell on
that ranking? They're at the top, they will be at
the top, you think, yeah, yeah, the Eagles averaged one
point nine points in the first quarter. Opposite they scored
twenty one in the first quarter.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
Yeah, they Yeah, they emptied the clip early.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
So it was so I was saying yesterday, I was
really excited to do Eagles, to hear Eagles post game
because I thought they were gonna lose this game. I
didn't think They're gonna lose like this. I'm not taking
a victory lap by anything. Yeah, but after the Jalen
Hurts coming out of the press conference and going like,
is this what y'all wanted? Is this what y'all asked for?
When the reality was a j bur on the ass
for it. Not the reporters, right, they just reported a
(28:03):
bro said neither here nor there. But then Nick Sirianni
yelling at Jalen Carter and Glinn Hurdle sidelines seemed like
a lot of turmoil, a lot of drama, a lot
of noise. They come out in response to that with
their first quarter, twenty one point first quarter. I'm telling you,
they don't score the first quarter, right, So they come
(28:23):
up with a twenty one point first quarter. Then Jalen
Hurts get a concussion. Kennedy picker comes out. He got
nicked up in that game. He saw him grabbing that
his ribs continually the third quarterback was warming up. They
might have both rebounded from the noise. And also like
still because of the injuries, because of the concussion, for Jaylen,
(28:45):
you expect him to probably miss at least next game,
right with the concussion and central Like if you saw
him get knocked out today, we'll see how he could play.
Maybe he's backs next Sunday, but you're expecting probably you'll
be playing without your starting quarterback for at least one game.
Like they're in a.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Tough spot here.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Oh, I don't think he'll be out in next game,
but I don't know how. I I know the protocols
have changed, so I don't I don't know. But he
wanted to come back this game obviously there's so I
think he will be fine. But if if that happens, yeah,
I mean, they're in a situation where I think they've
already wrapped up their division, so they don't have as
much pressure for him to be back, and they and yeah,
(29:23):
I mean obviously at starting today, they had a chance
to have the overall best record, So that's something to
play for at this point now where they probably don't.
Maybe he does sit a game, but I mean for
this team, I mean for the since Syrianne's been there,
I mean it's been termoil City anyway, right, So that's
part of their DNA at the moment. And you know,
they found a way to keep winning and keep winning here.
(29:45):
So I'm not surprised that they didn't. They you know,
they came out and early in that first quarter played well.
But we've got to get the Commanders some credit here. Man,
the Commanders. You said you picked them the winning game.
I knew it would be a tight game, but for
them to come back and win this game, it just
showed so much resolve and some its character and it's
it's it's a big win.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
I did not pick them to what's full of the record.
Once I saw Philly out there with a twenty one
the first quarter, I was like, oh, I was wrong, right,
So this this should be clear. I'm not taking a victory.
Laptock never saw a five turnout, never saw the Brian Robinson,
Dridan fumbling twice, all of that. But I do think though,
(30:21):
if you're Washington, you you saw how Jayden Daniels came
out like a house on fire. Okay, you saw it
kind of slow down a little bit around like near Halloween,
through that Halloween through Thanksgiving.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
Well, because the NFL season is long, but I'm just saying,
but you know for sure, you're kind of because.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Let's be honest, if you're a Commander's fan, you're waiting
for the other shoot to drop. Wait, when is this
gonna stop? Yeah, when is this gonna When are we
gonna when is this? My heart gonna be ripped out?
And then you thought maybe it was gonna happen and
Thanksgiving and then he kind of turns a corner and
he goes right back to not right back, but close
to where he was in the beginning of the season.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
You're like, who okay, this feels good. Now we had
to hail Mary play.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
That was a little lucky we had this, you know,
this come from behind, overcome adversity. This is again we're
talking about building foundations, building character. It feels like this
is a type of win you can look back and
be like, all right, last year, remember how we did this.
We can build off of this to build a place
where you're building a program again. First year coach, first
(31:24):
year quarterback.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Yeah, throwing the Kingsbury effect as well. Where Kingsbury, you know,
his reputation at this point is after that first few
like eight I think it's eight games or ten.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
But right eight games starts to get cold. Yeah, his
you know, his team doesn't score.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
And so it kind of fell and fell in line
with what Daniels was doing as well, saying, like like
you said, things are gonna you know, the bottom was
going to drop out of it. But also on top
of that was the Daniel's injury as well. Remember he
was injured the ribs thing, so all those things were
in play. So it looked like that team was going
to falter. But yeah, come back strong. And now, like
I said, they're firmly in the mix, and you know
(32:03):
they have a chance in their first year, you know,
to go on a little run.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
So carry again. Like I told you, I'm a gambler.
Just some people who may not be familiar with me
in this space. Two fourteen point favorites on the board
this weekend and all of the college football playoff games,
all the favorites won. Ye okay, the Chiefs were favorite
yesterday Day won. The Ravens favorite yesterday they won. Now
(32:28):
they call these things. This is called people who are
considered square betters will take all these favorites and line
them up on big parlays. I bet you they got
the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers on that
same ticket, trying to turn five dollars into five hundred
and right now they're looking at this game and they're saying,
what in the hell is going on? We'll talk about
(32:50):
what the hell is going on here. With about a
minute and twenty seconds left in the first half in Buffalo,
New England, New England's still with a seven point lead,
fourteen to seven. Go around real quickly, Miami thirteen, San
Francisco seven, and elsewhere we got at the half. Minnesota
has a seventeen to fourteen lead over Seattle, and the
Raiders with a thirteen to seven lead over Jacksonville. Four
(33:12):
minutes left in the first half. We'll talk about this
New England Buffalo game coming up in just a minute.
Martin West Kerry Roads, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
Now Kendrick comes in Motionwike, give the Steve Enzer threw
the right side out of a tackle he's cruising fourtyh.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Conn the five and on his feet into the end zone,
running into the Billing and roots to the end zone
for a touchdown to kill the Patriots cut thirteen nothing lead.
That's right, it was a thirteen nothing lead for the
Patriots there, thanks of the Patriots Rado network for that one.
Right now, it's a fourteen to seven lead New England
with the ball thirteen seconds left in the half, as
(33:50):
Drake may complete the pass to one of the tight ends.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
There probably gonna head in a halftime here, but.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
That's not the news. The news is Buffalo is by
a touchdown here, as in New England calls the time
out with two seconds Lefty, sometimes.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Let's go to leave better. You know, perfect is the
enemy of good.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Okay, Like we're in a good spot because again, the
story of the late games right now is that the
Buffalo Bills with the presumptive league MVP through however many
weeks we're through right now, and Josh Allen, I've only
scored a touchdown over the lowly Patriots.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
Yeah no, I mean this is a spot where he's
been getting you know, Uh, he's the MVP all week
and then you come into a team that's been here
in that all week and knowing how dangerous he is,
and so the emphasis on stopping that particular player is elevated,
and we're seeing that right now in the first half.
We got another half to play, but first half it's been,
you know, it's been. It's been pretty pretty good for
(34:47):
the Patriots San Francisco.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Right now Third and Gold trailing Miami by six with
a minute left in the first half, thirteen to seven,
saying Seattle's back out of the into the second half,
they have a trailing by Minnesota seventeen to fourteen. Seattle
in Vegas with three minutes left as a thirteen to
seven lead over the Jags. But let's gohead. Kick it
over to Ryan Berschinger for the fantasy hits and misses
(35:09):
include Deebo Samuel.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
And a hit because nobody started him today, don't.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Ron fantasy hits.
Speaker 11 (35:17):
And the missus Well, Deebo Samuel does have a touchdown.
But these fantasy hits and misses are only from the
early games. So next hour, maybe maybe we'll mention Debo
in the hits. Starting off, of course, your top scoring
quarterback of the day is Jaden Daniels, who was a
risky play for some people given the matchup here, but
Jayden overcame that matchup twenty four to thirty nine for
(35:39):
two hundred and fifty eight yards and five touchdowns through
the air, did have two interceptions, but nine rushes for
eighty one yards. On the ground as well, Jonathan Taylor
ran all over the Tennessee Titans twenty nine rushes, two
hundred and eighteen yards and three touchdowns. As we had
mentioned too, you look at last week where Jonathan Taylor
dropped the ball as going into as he was going
(35:59):
into the end zone. So we have entire fantasy leagues
where things are being determined entirely by Jonathan Ryan.
Speaker 5 (36:04):
This time he actually held onto the ball all the
way through the tunnel, So the big deal.
Speaker 11 (36:07):
All three times he probably still has it. Keenan Allen
is your top scoring receiver on the day. Nine catches
on thirteen targets for one hundred and forty one yards
and a touchdown, and your top scoring tight end is
Chick Aconquo. Nine catches saw it everybody throw it up
exactly nine catches on eleven targets for eighty one yards
for Chick. Some misses here, I don't like putting injuries
(36:29):
into the misses, but Jalen Hurts leaving that game was
such a huge miss for a lot of people. That
really impacted a lot of games.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
One of the somebody in Jalen Hurts in a semi final, congratulations.
Speaker 11 (36:41):
Jalen hurds one of four for eleven yards through the air,
three rushes for forty one yards on the ground, left
with a concussion. DeAndre Swift had a rough one. Of course,
the Lions have a stout rushing d even with the injuries.
But nine rushes for twenty yards on the ground for
DeAndre Swift. Three catches on three targets for thirty three yards.
Cooper Cup is another guy who is really impacting fantasy
(37:01):
leagues because this is another bad one for him. Three
catches on three targets for twenty four yards. Jerry Judy
also two catches on three targets for twenty yards. Of course,
he thrived with Jameis Winston throwing him the ball. So
I think Roger Goodell needs to step in put Jameis
Winston because that game would have been so much more
fun had Jameis Winston played. We don't need to watch
(37:22):
Dorian Thompson Robinson as much as I support UCLA for
doing that. No, we do not need to watch DTRD.
Give us Jamis again, and guys here in the misses,
this is really special. We don't get too often be
on History watch in the fantasy hits and misses in
the missus portion. But Trey McBride had three catches on
four targets for twenty yards today. That puts him at
(37:43):
ninety two catches on the season with zero receiving touchdowns.
So he is currently the record. So hard to do, Yeah,
it is incredible. He right now, if he does not
catch a touchdown for the remainder of the season, he
will have the record for most receptions in the season
without a touchdown. Deontay Johnson had it two years ago
at eighty six catches with no touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
So he's gonna have a hunt even if even if
he doesn't even if he hasn't touchdown, he's gotta have
one hundred catches a like at most five touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Yeah, that's crazy. At most, he's not gonna get the five.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
I'm just I'm saying, if go if he goes crazy,
the next to y Yeah, they got none else to
play for or Arizona Cardinals. Oh, here we go again.
That's right.
Speaker 11 (38:22):
So those are your fantasy hit some misses from the
early games.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Thanks bird.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
Oh Man, that's you know, that's that's that is really
hard to do. Have ninety catches and no touchdowns. I mean,
you talk about the Ravens. You got you gott Rasae
Baitman like forty catches in eight touchdowns, So it's that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Westbrook A Kine He's got like twelve touchdowns and only
twenty nine catches on the year. Really, yeah, the serious lists.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
I heard it coming up.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
He's something like something ridiculous like that, like nearly thirty
five percent of his catches have been touchdowns.
Speaker 11 (38:54):
Yeah, he's twenty three catches, eight touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
Yeah I was close. Yeah, yeah, I was close. It's
less than three to one. So every three catches he
has a Touchdown's that's pretty good rate.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
I mean, that'll get ill about to say that get
you paid. Maybe you have to catch more though, catch
about sixty balls here. Let's take this last minute here
and talk about this Miami in San Francisco game. Miami
with the lead over San Francisco in the ball twenty
four seconds to go into the half Miami.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Is Mike McDaniel a good coach.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Still up in the air, But I do know he's
a good coach when he has a healthy two. I'll
tell you that. I mean, and I think that's it.
And I think that's the issue with the Dolphins, right,
It's always been the injuries. When two was there, they
win a lot. And so they need to either find
a backup that can actually run that scheme or ye know,
we'll we'll never know.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
Well they probably should do is invest more heavily in
that offensive line that too, That would probably be helpful.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
It's not like.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
There's like five guys whose whole job it is to
protect them as they go into the half with the
three point lead, you know, talking about the Raiders and
the Jaguars again, it's thirteen to seven. Their minute show
in Seattle though tied seventeen of peace and early in
the second half. We'll dive into that game coming up
next and more. Martin Weis carry Roads. You're on Red
Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio radio all week.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
They said the sky was falling, but uh no rain
clouds for this one team. Oh, Martin Weis carry roads
broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studio. Tire
i rack dot com, we love you get there with
an unmaxed election, fast free ship and period has a
protection over ten thousand.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Recommend that the dollars tire rack dot Com. That's why
the tire buying should be.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn said this week, we're tenant,
we're twelve and two. We're in the dance. We've already
punched our ticket, and you guys are telling us the
sky is falling. And it really was the conversation nationally
about the Detroit Lions. You have a a now one
game up on Philly on the lost column in terms
(40:53):
of the NFC, top of the NFC, number one team
in the NFC and the NFC North. As we're sitting
here looking Jay Golf had a good game today as well.
You know, he had a three touchdown passes, one of
them not eighty two yard bombed Jamison Williams that had
Antoine Randall Ll running up and down the sidelines.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
Excited this team. I get that their injuries concerns are there,
but if they.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
Keep winning, that keeps going a ton of points and
right now they look like they're gonna have an extra
week off that nobody else is gonna have in the NFC. Yep,
it's just like the thoughts on the Lions here as
we look at it, we're trying to I feel like
we're trying to pick apart all these NFC contenders and like,
get the Lions have the injuries, but what other team
(41:41):
in the NFC could score like them despite it?
Speaker 5 (41:45):
Yeah, I mean they're gonna score a lot of points.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
But when I talked, like when we talked to JV
earlier Jonathan bill moat, it's one of the things where yes,
the defense is gonna have to step up and play better. Obviously,
I mean in most games they can score enough to win,
but you will come into a hot situation with the
hot team, say like a Green Bay Packers or a RAMS,
when they have all their weapons firing at the same time,
(42:09):
when they can actually match them and score. And with
the other thing with the Rams and the Packers, which
they do really well, they can both run the ball
as well, so be able to keep that offense off
the field and put Detroit in the situation where they
have to press the score. That's how I see them
losing if it happens. But all these are ifs right now.
Detroit came back, like you said, after a week where
(42:31):
everybody said this team may be on the decline with
all the injuries, they came back and showed that they're
still in the fight. So it was an impressive win
for the Lions.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
And the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Right afterwards, did the Cam Newton mean with the towel
over his head, watched that Lions game, did a quick
NYE and said, Okay, time to go back to business,
cause they are nipping at the heels of the Lions,
both not only in the division but also in the
NFC now that Philly has lost the game. Now the Vikings,
our competition is crazy as it sounds. They could be
(43:03):
the one seed or they could be the five seed
when this thing all shaves up. So they obviously have
a ton to play for right outside seventeen a piece
in Seattle. So this all could change in the next,
you know, eighteen minutes or so of game. They lose
this game, then they'd be down there with Philly. Once
he just a little you know, Detroit would have a
game up on them as well. With the Week eight
(43:23):
team matchup. But that's why the Viking. This is a
game when you're thinking of the top of this and
that one only having to win two playoff games should
go to the super Bowl first. Having to win three
is an advantage that you can speak to it better
than I can somebody who played, but it's it's gotta
be a massive advantage.
Speaker 4 (43:42):
Yeah, you never want to play play too many games,
and you know, like if you can get a break, cool,
you probably deserve it and you need it because anything
can happen to any game. We can go back a
couple of years ago with San Francisco and the injury
to brock perty Right, like that extra game to play.
Obviously they got hot down the stretch in Right and
they played well and we knew they were the best
(44:04):
team probably, but you get an injury, can't finish out
what you started, and that's what happens when you play
that extra game. So, yes, getting that by is big,
But we can also look back in history and say
it doesn't guarantee you make it to the super Bowl,
but it is an advantage for sure.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
Yeah, as Minnesota bangs in a world record field goal
to take the lead there twenty to seventeen six twenty
five left in the third quarter. Sam Donald only nine
incompletions right now, seventeen for twenty six two touchdowns through
the year. Minnesota not doing a lot on the ground,
sixty yards rushing, Seattle doing less twenty seven yards rushing.
(44:41):
Let's look at that side of things. Gino Smith throws
the ball more than any quarterback in the NFL. They
have Kenneth Walker, he's a good running back. I'm not
under and Sharbonna is good when he's out there and
he's healthy. What do you see in Seattle that is
it just a lack of commitment to running the ball,
lack of desire, or just lack of ability.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
I think it's a I think it's game plan because
Charbonnet obviously has proven that he can get the job done.
Obviously they're missing their top guy, but he had the
first game that he missed.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Kenneth Walker's got four carries twenty yards rusher walk five
yards of carry. He's just only got four touches.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
Yeah, it's hard because he's got two guys that can
run it, so like splitting those carries is going to
be an issue. But also, I mean they started out
this game, they were down, and so they probably tried
to pass a little more to get back in the game.
But with Seattle, the thing about them, which is kind
of it's kind of it's kind of a conundrum, right.
You fall behind in some of these games and you
have some heroics from Geno Smith, but in the same
(45:38):
breath he turns the ball over too much. So I
would commit to that, and I think they have to
find what their identity.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Is because it's to me, it's interesting.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
And Jalen Hurts today notwithstanding, and really last week notwithstanding
as well, and Jordan Love for that matter. But I
think you've seen in Philadelphia and Green Bay a scaling
back of the quarterback. And that's not an insult, it's
not a knock. But you'll just look at the pass
attempts game to game to game. You know, in the
first ten weeks of the season, it's up twenty five
(46:07):
to thirty five. In the last couple of weeks it's
closer to you know, it's closer to twenty to twenty five, right,
and that that matters. I think a big dudeca is
not that you're running less plays, you're just running more efficient.
While you're running the ball more, giving your quarterback less
to do, which sounds like something like just because your
quarterback can do everything, doesn't mean he should have to
(46:27):
do everything every single game. And when you're trying to
play a sustainable brand of football, you want to be
able to take a little bit of the load off
of your quarterback by running the ball. Seattle's eight and six. Yeah,
I think if they had a more balanced offense.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
I mean, obviously the defense, you know, it is what
it is.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
If they had a more balanced offense, maybe your defense
improves a bit because you're controlling the ball.
Speaker 4 (46:48):
Yeah, yeah, it does. And I think that's when you
talk about playing complimentary football. When you hear that word,
it is that. And so a lot of times you
go back to the old defense is right where you
had the Ravens defense back in the day with ray
Lewis ed Reed or Pittsburgh with Troy pal Paumlo and
those guys. Right, there is a synergy amongst that team
(47:09):
where the run game is important, but it's not just
only important for the quarterback. It's important for the flow
of the game, and it actually gives your defense a
chance to reset and come out and be fresh and
be dominant like they are. And so you got a
defensive minded head coach and Mike McDonald, right, you would
think that they would lean into the run more, but
they haven't so far this year. So I get what
(47:32):
you're saying. But yes, to be a really good, complete team,
all three of those things have to be really well.
Got to be able to run the ball. Your quarterback
gotta make timely throws to keep the chains moving. And
it also will give your defensive chance to rest and
come out and be ready to you know, make make
big plays on their end as well.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
And he said he does something the ball over. This
is the story of Seattle.
Speaker 2 (47:51):
Right now, six point thirty left in the third quarter,
Gino Smith has just under two hundred yards passing and
the turnover five incompletions and the turnover.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
Always the numbers look great, right if you saw the
eighteen to twenty three one ninety two two touchdowns, you're like,
he's happening today. He also in that game would have
thrown a pick six. I'm not saying this would happen
this game, but sure that's usually what the recipe ends.
Speaker 2 (48:13):
Up being with. You know, jamis light. No, I'm just
kidding it's not James. He's not Jams, but he will.
Josh Allen and Josh Allen in the Buffalo Bills just
converted a third and three to move in a first
and goal with eleven minutes left in the third quarter
at Dawson Knox. Catch over the third, over the first
down line. That's the word I'm looking for as they're
(48:33):
trying to score here, Patriots. I don't think they've touched
the ball yet in the third, in the second half.
This is a huge moment though, right here. If New
England's able to stone them, I think now you might
get a moment of like I should say, like this,
when you're a big underdog like this, what what is it?
When's the moment when you start to believe? Because I
feel like if you could stop a buff a Buffalo
(48:54):
touchdown here, you'd start to believe you really have a
shot to win this game.
Speaker 5 (48:57):
Well, it won't.
Speaker 4 (48:57):
It won't happen in this game until the fourth quarter.
If they were in a situation where they're up seven
going into the fourth, they field that way. But New
England's had so many games, and you take their record
out of it three and eleven, they've had some bad losses,
but most of these games they've been right there, and
so you know that's I don't think they there's this
ultra belief that they can win right now. I mean,
(49:18):
I'm sure they came in, you know, with an idea
that we have a good game plan, we can be competitive,
and we will have a chance to be in this game.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
But right now, you know, when you.
Speaker 4 (49:27):
Lose games throughout the year, in their close games, the
belief isn't there until it gets around the fourth quarter
and you think you have a chance to win it.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
So right now, I'm looking at the box score. Here,
Amari Cooper has one catch for ten yards. I believe
Bursch check me on this one, but I'm pretty sure
that means he's got one catch in ten yards in.
Speaker 3 (49:47):
His last six quarters of football.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
That's right. They traded a pretty after the amount to
get Amari Cooper in, you know, mid season. Here came
back week one, had the touchdown catch a week one
of him being a Buffalo touchdown catch. He seems that
he has not been involved in this offense thus far.
Evidence by one catch in ten yards in the last
(50:10):
six quarters. How important is he the Buffalo's This is
a team that's supposed to win a Super Bowl this year.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
He's important, but they've been able to win a lot
of games without him this year, right, And so you
bring in a guy that's considered, I guess still a
number one option.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
What that does?
Speaker 4 (50:25):
What that does for that team right now? With the
way they distribute the ball, it just it takes another
guy out of the box, right And so that's why
you see Cook having such a good year and him
being able to have another good game today, right like,
because you cannot commit that extra guy to the box.
If you do, and you leave Amari Cooper in one
on one situations, he still can be one on one situation.
(50:47):
So I think it's just again we talk about complimentary football.
Josh Allen has has succeeded this year and been able
to distribute the ball where he wants, not forcing it
to the number one guy. So I think that's pretty
that's what we're looking at right now.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
Speaking of James Klok in the good year he's having,
he scored his second touchdown today, this one I catch
four yards from Josh Allen to go ahead and tie
the score fourteen apiece Buffalo, New England.
Speaker 3 (51:14):
So all of that belief.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
I was talking about throw it out of the window
until we see what Newman does on this next drive. Here,
let's see here what Let's take a second and look back.
Michael Pennix Junior got his first NFL start. He played
pretty well, played decent, He played pretty well. But I
know Kirk Cousins had to be sitting on the sideline
(51:38):
thinking as Pennis went eighteen for twenty seven two one
hundred and two yards through the air. Kirk Cousins had
to be sitting there thinking. Jesse Bates and Matt Judn
couldn't have had picked sixes when I was playing. Yep,
they couldn't have done this when I was on the field.
Speaker 5 (51:50):
That's right, That's how it happens.
Speaker 4 (51:54):
You know, you go out there and I think Kirk
Cousins we I talked about it, I think last week,
but he was pressing right. And so that team, obviously,
somebody's got to take the blame for where they are
right now. They should be better, and that usually falls
with the quarterback first. But this team is underachieved, and
I said it last week. This defense is underachieved, right.
(52:15):
They got so many names back there that should be
able to make plays. You got Baits, you brought in Simmons,
you have Judeon, you have those guys that are all
I thought that was gonna be the best safety jandit
league exactly. And so they had not shown up in
a way that's been able to compliment that offense. And
so Kirk started pressing this game. You could see they
scaled it back. Michael Penix didn't have to do much.
(52:37):
They ran the ball. He had a turnover down in
close to the end zone, which wasn't his fault. But yeah,
he played. He played decent.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Yeah, I saw a tweet that said the only rookie
mistake that Michael Pennicks made was trusting Kyle Pitch in
the red got up next. You know, you talk about
a team that underachieved today from the after the first
quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles just worn't the same team.
When I get you lose your starting quarterback, but when
you got a running back who's the top the MVP Odds,
(53:03):
feels like you should be able to do something with
that had one hundred yards of the first quarter fifty
for the rest of the game. We'll talk about Adam.
We'll talk with Adam Kaplan who's Fox Sports Radio NFL

to hear it?
Speaker 3 (53:39):
Okay, go for it.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
So you know this song?
Speaker 6 (53:42):
I do not.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
I have not heard this one, oh man. Yeah, and
we don't have the time today. It made my hair
stick up. Luther Vandross und a missletone, underrated Christmas. I
haven't heard this one, Luther van Dross all right, Martin
Wiskerry Roads broadcasting live and the tire Right dot Com
studios Here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. So we
got the Vikings with a three point lead over the
Seahawks twenty to seventeen, the Raiders leading the Jaguars thirteen
(54:06):
to seven, and the Bills with a three point lead
after the New England got a third down stop to
go ahead and force them to kick a field goal attempt,
and we'll go now. Have Adam Kaplan on FSR NFL
Insider Inside the Birds podcast. You can catch them on
Twitter at Kaplan NFL Adam.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
So let's go ahead.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
I know you're all into on the Eagles, right I
Martin Wessing, Dan Byers normally here, so nice to talk
to you, but I do want to ask you, how's
the vibe or what's the thought process after Jalen Hurts
left with that concussion and the Eagles just weren't able
to really overcome.
Speaker 3 (54:41):
A game which Washington gave them the ball five times.
Speaker 8 (54:44):
Yeah, I cover thirty two teams, but yeah, because I
live in Philly, you know I do have this show.
But yeah, so let's get to the Eagles here. So
he leaves early. Jalen Hurts has his concussion. You know,
it's I don't know if you saw it. So on
the Fox broadcast, he puts his helmet on and he
feels like he's ready to go back to the game,
but they stopped him from going to the game. And
(55:07):
typically when a player goes back to the locker room
to get checked for concussion. More often not, they don't return.
He did not return. Now you mentioned it, yes, Like, look,
the game was theirs. I mean, think about it. There
are plus four in the turnover margin and they lost.
How does that happen? Like, yeah, I think it's happened
twice this season already. And obviously that we know about
the Jared five interception game with the line somehow won.
(55:29):
So you just look, it was there for the taking.
There's really nothing out of the game and you go,
oh god that Like this is like when you look
at all these teams here, you can go through every
team and see a weakness. The goals have the best
defense in the National football since Week six. It's just
a very weird deal. Can you pick out a couple
of bad turnovers? It did a Yeomen's job kind of
hung in there, but Jane Daniels was magnificent. He had
(55:52):
a couple turnovers himself, but overall he brought the team
back and that's what you want out of a rookie quarterback.
And talking to the commanders over recent weeks, man, they
they kind of knew early on in training camp that
he was going to be beat out Marcus Mariota that
it was like never never really in a competition, to
be honest with you. But he's the kind of guy.
He's the first guy there in their building. He beats
the coaches just about every day, and you could see
(56:14):
how it manifests on the field.
Speaker 4 (56:15):
Adam, this is carry on. No, Jayden, you talked about
him right now. He out gained the Eagles by himself today.
He had three hundred and thirty nine to the yards.
Eagles had three hundred and thirty eight. So I think
the question for me really is, obviously we all know
about Jalen Hurts getting you know, being knocked out of
the game. But yeah, but what happened to the Philadelphia
(56:36):
Eagles defense today?
Speaker 8 (56:38):
Yeah, I think Carrie, what happened was is that once
Hurts left and yes, Barkley had an unbelievable first quarter
one hundred and seventy yards two touchdowns, but man, they
could not run the ball to save their life. From
the second half, they kept giving the watching the you know,
the ball back. And then the problem is you mentioned
Daniels his back breaking runs. He actually led them in rushing.
(56:58):
In fact, Brian Robinson the two bad fumbs he got
bench during the game, they couldn't the running backs couldn't
run the ball at all. It was Daniels who killed
them and that was a big part of the game.
And it's just kind of really ironic. A former ego
Alamide Sakia. So the Eagles didn't want back, he got
them today he gets two touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
So James A.
Speaker 8 (57:14):
Crowder came off ir last week. He was a lot
slot receiver, scored two touchdowns. And you know, they manufacture
a lot on offense. They don't other than McLaurin who
did score late. They don't have much else at receiver,
and they sort of manufacturer offense under Cliff Kingsbury and
it works.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
It's been a great story.
Speaker 8 (57:31):
They talk of the Commanders this year throughout the season,
in training camp and so forth.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
I don't want to say they didn't.
Speaker 8 (57:38):
Expect to make the playoffs, but this is They didn't
want to call a rebuild either, but they weren't quite
sure to know what to expect from this team. And
I would say I'll speak for people when I've got information,
I would say, pretty much ahead of schedule, let's call
it like it is.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
What's your take on the Arizona Cardinals. Here they lose
to the Panthers thirty six overtime in a game.
Speaker 3 (58:00):
Was watching it.
Speaker 2 (58:01):
Full disclosure, I had a bet on the Panthers to
I mean the Cardinals to make the playoffs. I pick
make the playoffs? Did you I had?
Speaker 3 (58:08):
I had them to make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
I thought they were gonna I thought I was like
San Francis was gonna fall apart.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
I saw, I saw it all except.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
For the Rams. Right, that's the problem.
Speaker 3 (58:16):
What happened with the Cardinals down the stretch.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
It really in the last fourth quarter and overtime with
his game, they just took so many chances to win.
It was like, you know what rather or not?
Speaker 8 (58:26):
Two things here defensively, the lack of a pass rush.
Speaker 2 (58:28):
They this is what they have to do in the
front office.
Speaker 8 (58:33):
Manteausin for the GM's personnel control that they have to
go after premiere pass rushers Darius Robinson, their first round pick.
He missed most of the season. He was a defensive
linean any with a calf injury. They needed to add
three significant edge rushers that they need two starters they
need to backup and I'm saving Collins is okay. He
sort of an inside outside player. He's just not good
enough as a pass rusher that they need more. The
(58:58):
other thing is, and I don't quite understand Marvin Harrison
Junior has not had the season. I think they were
expecting it. You know, he's a rookie. But he and
Kyler Murray have to get on the same page. James
Connor has been unbelievable by the way. He had a
knee injury today. We'll find out tomorrow if it's serious
or not.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
But yeah, this is a choke.
Speaker 8 (59:13):
I mean, this is another team that really did overachieve,
though not a very good roster, that they were better.
But the bigger stories Bryce Young hung in there, did
not turn the ball over. I do expect him to
bring someone in. He's going to be the starter almost certainly,
to head into their offseason. But my sense is that
they're going to bring someone to compete against him. Andy Dalton,
by the way, his contracts up. But this is a
really good one. This is you know, it's funny. This
(59:34):
is probably ticket broker's day off there in Charlotte.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
Mm hmm, let's call it like it is.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
But this is actually the best game of the day.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
No, it was a great game.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Game, Yeah, no, Philly in Yeah, but you know, losing
Jalen Hurts kind of took some of the luster out
of that. Yeh, but you touched on it a little bit.
And that's a great question is worth talking about because
the last like four five six games, this Cardinals team
has gone from like complete and total destructive laughings. So,
wait a minute, they almost beat Philly. Wait a minute,
they just beat Arizona. Wait a minute, they just took
(01:00:04):
this team to overtime like like this under canal? Is
this feels a lot better at this time of the
year that it did last year. And Bryce Jone looks
like he can play in this league. Yeah, and don't
don't focus on the record at four and eleven. You're
absolutely right that they've played a bunch of close games.
They hung in their shorthanded against Philly, and they did
a really good job a Chubba Hubbard. It's really interesting.
(01:00:25):
So talking to the front offense, you know, they drafted him,
They never thought he'd be a starter. They drafted him
as a backup in a Ooklahoma state. They didn't see
it happening.
Speaker 8 (01:00:32):
Remember, they signed Miles Sanders to a four year deal
and the first two years are full of guaranteed.
Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
That's why Sander was on the roster.
Speaker 8 (01:00:37):
He's on the ir but Hubbard took Sander's job last
year and he followed up and got a big contract extension.
By the way, he was incredible today, one hundred and
fifty two yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Great story.
Speaker 8 (01:00:49):
Now again, nobody follows the Panthers nationally because they've been
bad for a while, and then you know it's not
a big media market, but they're competitive.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
You're absolutely right.
Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
I want to talk about my set.
Speaker 4 (01:01:00):
He picked to come out and uh and be a sneaky,
sneaky competitive team possibly make it out of the NFC.
And I know this is gonna it's gonna sound a
little strange, but it's it's it's the Rams and I
know that. I know after they started one and four,
they got they got healthy, they got they they're not
injured anymore, They got their complimentary players back. And you know,
everybody wants to give the credit to Matthew Stafford. He's
(01:01:22):
been twelve and one in December since he's been here
in Los Angeles. But I want to get some credit
to Kyra and Williams. A lot of people don't talk
about him, but man, he's been a beast for the
Rams here and down the stretch of the season.
Speaker 8 (01:01:33):
Yeah and carry. I would tell you this, if you
talk to scouts like I did, they would tell you
that they all messed on and they thought he was
too small.
Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
They didn't think he'd be a feature back.
Speaker 11 (01:01:42):
Now.
Speaker 8 (01:01:42):
He's had some injuries in his career, but more more
often than not that he plays through them. He's he's
a big reason why they they've won eight out of
ten games. I just can't believe it. As you mentioned, now,
some people are gonna knock their schedule. You know, the
Eagles go in LA and Eagles demolish them. But but
but how about that game against the Bills three weeks
(01:02:03):
ago exactly? Okay, that was an unbelievable win. One of
the best games of the year. They did by the
way they won at Seattle. Uh, they they beat the Vikings,
So you can't say they didn't beat good teams on
their schedule.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
You're right.
Speaker 8 (01:02:18):
Look, they're they're hanging in there. They're now nine and
six that they would right now be the favorite to
win it. I thought Seattle would get it for guy
Dan Bayer.
Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
It's not looking good.
Speaker 8 (01:02:28):
They're hanging in there. You know, they got they were
down big today. Now they fought back though the likes
of a small lead. But the Seahawk defense has been
a problem with getting back to the Rams. It's kind
of a no name defense. Jared Verse, I have to
vote in two poles, so I have to look at
this harder. I'm pretty and Verse out a big Fumbell
covery today. I'm probably gonna vote for Jared versus Defensive
Rookie of the Year.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
You know.
Speaker 8 (01:02:49):
The other thing is under less Snie the general manager.
They really draft well and develop and that's a big
part of it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
They really do. Adam, thanks for coming on the show man.
I appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
You got thank you as Adam Kaplan and are NFL
insider inside the Bird podcast.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
You can catch them on the tweet machine at Kaplan NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
Thanks again, Adam. Let's go over kick it over to
Manti Bilanos for updates on these late games, early games,
everything in the world of sports. Monty euro up, thank you,
thank you.
Speaker 9 (01:03:13):
No no pressure, so no pressure on the Seahawks who
looked like they were punting, but it was a fake punt.
Julian Love gets the first down on the fake punt
for the Seahawks, so they still have the ball. They're
still losing those to the Vikings twenty to seventeen. Early
in the fourth quarter, Drake May just through a pick
(01:03:35):
in the end zone. Bill's got the ball back. They're
beating the Patriots seventeen fourteen, two minutes to go in
the third the Raiders holding on to their lead over
the Jaguars. It's thirteen to seven. Halfway through the third quarter.
Jake Moody dismissed a forty one yard field goal for
the forty nine Ers, so the Dolphins are still on
top sixteen to ten with about six minutes to go
(01:03:57):
in the third quarter. Based on the things that happen
earlier today, like the Panthers beating the Cardinals in overtime
thirty six to thirty, the Rams defeating the Jets nineteen
to nine, Falcons beating the Giants thirty four to seven,
Commanders coming.
Speaker 10 (01:04:11):
Back to beat the Eagles thirty six thirty three.
Speaker 9 (01:04:14):
All of that basically to tell you that the math
is math in and that means the Cardinals, forty nine Ers,
Cowboys have all been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
Speaker 10 (01:04:23):
We know that for sure. Other NFL news, there is
a good chance.
Speaker 9 (01:04:28):
That we may actually see George Pickens back in action
for the Steelers on Wednesday as they take on the Chiefs.
He's missed the past three games because of a hamstring injury,
but today Mike Tomlin said there's a real chance he's
back Wednesday, beautiful. Also on Monday night, Green Bay, they're
gonna take on the Saints. The Saints are trying to
deal with the weather. You can see them in Buffalo.
Speaker 10 (01:04:46):
They're breathing and you can see the cold just in
the air.
Speaker 9 (01:04:49):
I guess trying to prepare Spencer Rattler and the rest
of the quarterbacks. They went into the walking freezer in
the team's cafeteria to run through the plays, just to
get ready for the cold that they're going to experience
on Monday night. And lastly here, yes, it's an NBA news,
but according to Sham's two time All Defensive Team, guard
Alex Caruso has agreed to a four year, eighty one.
Speaker 10 (01:05:11):
Million dollar extension with OKC.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
Nice.
Speaker 10 (01:05:14):
Yeah, not too shabby there. Yeah, back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
From the G League to eighty one I.
Speaker 9 (01:05:19):
Mean, how about that, right, because some guys still play defense.
Speaker 5 (01:05:24):
Yeah, somebody gotta do it.
Speaker 10 (01:05:26):
Somebody's got to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
He's doing it. He's doing it, and.
Speaker 10 (01:05:29):
He's getting paid. Congratulations, know your role?
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
No, your role, Mark Garry, When you were an Arizona Cardinal,
did you, guys ever go to the walk in freezer
to prepare for any of those games?
Speaker 7 (01:05:40):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
I would have told coach you lost your mind. Seriously.
Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
That's why it Also, it also feels like an area
in which you should wear non slip shoes, which doesn't
seem like a great place to be practicing football.
Speaker 10 (01:05:55):
You're right, you're non slip shoes in those It is
a hazard.
Speaker 5 (01:05:58):
Yes, it's a hazard. He shouldn't do it.
Speaker 9 (01:06:00):
But when Spencer Rattler's out there throwing dimes, are going
to be like, oh, it's because of the freezer.
Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
And if he does it because of the freezer, exactly,
there you go, Spencer. He got a frosts bite trying
to throw the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
I went to the senior ball last year and he
was the quarterback that impressed me the most of all
of them. Really, he's had a rough rough.
Speaker 4 (01:06:18):
Yeah, I didn't I didn't think he would be well,
and I know, I know that's your I know that's
your team.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
That's part if he had Sean Peyton coaching him, you
just look.
Speaker 5 (01:06:26):
Oh my, you know, don't you say it?
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Please?
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
I went there and went there.
Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
Dennis Sally, you know you're saying, you don't say San
Francisco this. So this has been no Actually, you know
what skirt left turn Pittsburgh all right? George Pickings back
in the lineup on on Wednesday, per mon So if
he's not there, blame her and not me. But uh
that So when they made the switch from Russell Wilson
(01:06:55):
from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson, I didn't like it either.
For the record, a lot of time in these airways
saying that just Field should be the guy too. So
you used to ask me in a break about how
do you feel about sometimes when your take is not
lining up with this? So I really had this taken.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
I was like, am I hating or not?
Speaker 2 (01:07:13):
I thought this was real. When Russ came out the
first two games, I said, I don't see much different
with Pittsburgh's offense except for throwing the ball up to
George Pickens. And to be fair, Russell Wilson has been
That's one had been a high part of his game
for the longest he's been in the league, doing a
(01:07:34):
deep ball, doing a deep bomb.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
But that was the difference.
Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
I saw, not anything spectacular that Russell Wilson himself was
doing like.
Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
It wasn't like it was great throws. It was just
their willingness to throw it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Without him, I think we've seen what happened George Pickens.
To me, he may not be the best player on
the offense, but he's the most important player on Pittsburgh's
offense because without him they do not have the passion
game dimension at all.
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
Oh yeah, they came into this season and kind of
devoid of talent anyway, at that position. He was the
I guess the quote unquote alpha at at that wire
receiver position for Pittsburgh, And yes, they do need them.
But that is the only difference, right, Like he's he
has the ability to go make that play. But also
you just said it though Russell Wilson has has the
willingness to do it, where Justin Fields was on such
(01:08:26):
a short leash he didn't want to risk it and
take that chance.
Speaker 5 (01:08:28):
But he could have done the same thing.
Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
But yeah, Pickens is a big, big time player and
the most important player for them right now. And I
think also what we're seeing with Pittsburgh is they're just
coming back down to the earth and you know, they've
had some wins, they've played well, they've overachieved here, and
now they're hitting a stretch where all these games mean
something for everybody, right, and they're not gonna beat those
(01:08:51):
teams that have more talent than them when it comes
down to stretch.
Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
Here third and two for Miami, they attempt a deep
shot to Tyreek Hill in the end zone, broken up
by I believe there's our Various Award there broken up.
Oh no, it was not broken up. I take it back.
Our Various Ward was in good coverage, he was in
phase and all of that. But that is a drop
to rop by Tyreek Hill, who has had the worst
(01:09:17):
season that he's had in his career.
Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
This season, and two touchdown drops today.
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
So yeah, so I'm mad, you know what, I respect,
keep going.
Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
See, I'm back.
Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
As we looked as we watched Jason Sanders attempt to
field goal here, this is Miami offense to me, as
it's really the dichotomy between San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
And Miami, and I thought this game would go the
other way.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
And we'll obviously they still have sixteen minutes left to play,
with a minute oh eight left in the third quarter,
so we'll see how it goes with Miami with a
nine point lead, nineteen to ten. But to me, as
you see these offenses, they're very similar. Obviously you can
go back and they did a montage earlier today of
Mike McDaniel and Kyle Shanahan.
Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
And all their various at all the various years, Kyle
hs better than Mike. But that's neither here nor there.
But the difference I see. San Francisco is not afraid
to turn around and hand the ball off between the
tackles for whatever reason. Maybe it's roster construction, Maybe it's
(01:10:20):
just Mike McDaniel saying he didn't like that when shanahan
was doing and he said, when I get my turn,
this is I'm gonna run my show, right, you know,
when I get my bar and TV will always be
on the game, you know, never come out, but so
like but whenever that happens. But you watch Miami and
they just do not seem to be a power.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
They do not have the power running aspect that it
seems that Kyle Kyron Williams and the Rams do when
they run a similar thing to what McVeigh did. Aaron
Jones and the Vikings, they run a similar thing to
you know, to the Shandon. Miami doesn't have that, and
I think that's why Miami consistently, year after year starts
(01:10:59):
out hot and then.
Speaker 4 (01:11:00):
Well they did have that when they had the two
headed running back, the two headed monster running back with
eight Chen and the Moster.
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
Yes, when they had eight Chan and Moster was hurt,
He's got more yards in this season war yards in
this game. He has the last five And that's why.
So when McDaniel's first got there, they were based around that.
They ran the stretch a lot, and they set up
their play action the deep passes by Tua. That was
part of their success early on because they were able
to run the ball. The thing that you're stating right
now is what they're missing. Both of those guys have
(01:11:31):
been in and out with injuries, and so the consistency
to do that and also the consistency to do it
hasn't been there. But also they've been getting beat pretty badly.
Their defense hasn't been good, so they've been behind and
they've had to abandon it. But I think they're all
based off that. But again, it also comes to the
identity of that head coach or that offensive coordinator. Right
(01:11:51):
even if you have even if you are part of
a tree, you still want to have your own identity.
Speaker 5 (01:11:56):
And that's probably what we're seeing right now.
Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
Ryan Thomas Junior just dropped with have been the go
ahead touchdown as Jacksonville fans in this dance.
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Clutched their faces and grabbed their noses.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
I can't believe it. Thirteen to seven, still the score
there with fourteen to fifteen left in the third quarter.
Right now, we got two teams with a combined five
losses leading by a combined six points in the fourth quarter.
We'll break those down coming up in just a moment.
Martin Wise, Kerry Roads, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
An early Christmas present for Dan Bayer was just delivered
by Gino Smith into the end zone to the tight
end as Seattle here takes the lead in over Minnesota.
It is twenty three to twenty as is that Barnard
catches the ball in the end zone. That's a hell
(01:12:51):
of a catch. That's a hell of a catch. And
I'm glad that we didn't have to review that at
all because he kind of caught the ball, put it
against his face mask, land with his arm in the
ball on the ground. But he had clearer control of
it from day, from step one, the whole time. And
that's where we don't need to have a master's degree
to determine a catch. That's a catch, and that's a touchdown.
(01:13:12):
Twenty four to twenty. The Seahawks lead the Vikings. Is
Sam harn the Sam Darnold have it in him? Is
this his MVP moment?
Speaker 6 (01:13:18):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:13:18):
Here we go again. You're trying to go back to
the MVP. I know one thing I do know that
Dan is happy watching this for sure. You know we
got to give him shout out. I mean, I know
he's back home, you know, visiting the family for Christmas.
So give a shout out to my co partner. I
miss you, man, but you but you guys made you
guys doing in trouble though the Viking. Not because of
(01:13:38):
what you're yeh, Mario, No, no, no, no, it is
this jerk doing it. That's because Dan's going, that's what.
Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
I'm just playing.
Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
Let's go ahead and kick it over to Ryant Burchess
here for our fantasy hits and missus.
Speaker 11 (01:13:55):
All right, let's focus in on these four afternoon games here,
and something to keep in mind to on that Seahawks
goal line, well not a goal line stand they ended
up getting into the end zone, but prior to that,
two players, prior to the touchdown they did get. Kenneth
Walker got stood up at the line and came off
the field limping. So yes, Zach Sharbonne then came into
(01:14:16):
the game and Aj Barner caught a touchdown.
Speaker 5 (01:14:18):
All right.
Speaker 11 (01:14:19):
Your top scoring quarterback from this late window so far, well,
Geno Smith probably just passed Sam Darnold's Let's get let's
get Geno's up to date numbers here because this fresh
come on, come on, work with me. So now, Geno
Smith is at twenty eight to thirty eight passing for
two hundred and eighty yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
(01:14:40):
On the other side, though Sam Donald won ninety five
twenty of thirty two passing for one hundred ninety five
yards and two touchdowns. Your top scoring running back from
this window is James Cook. James Cook one hundred rushing
yards on eleven carries and the touchdown. He's also the
Bill's leading receiver three catches for twenty six yards and
a touchdow. Brian Thomas Junior just got in Walt zone.
(01:15:03):
He might have been on the misses if it wasn't
for that. But that is a huge touchdown there for
Brian Thomas Junior. But the top scoring receiver from this
window is Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson another strong performance thus far.
He is now at eight catches for on ten targets
for ninety three yards and a touchdown. And your top
scoring tight end from this window currently George Kittle. George Kittle,
(01:15:27):
even though he had a target in the end zone
that Brock Purty kind of threw five yards away from him.
Despite that, five catches on six targets for seventy nine yards,
your miss is here. Well, let's go back to that
Bills game because Josh Allen, who has carried teams to
the playoffs in fantasy leagues, not much going thus far
for Josh Allen. Fourteen of twenty six for one hundred
(01:15:47):
and twenty eight yards and a touchdown along with an interception,
and for good measure, the entire Bills receiving corps is
currently on the miss list. As I mentioned, James Cook
is their leading receiver, so if he started any other
receiver on the Bills Khalil Shakir two catches on six
targets for twenty two yards.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
And he tried to fumble limited.
Speaker 11 (01:16:06):
He attempted to actively fumble the ball. Keyan Coleman one
catch seventeen yards. As you mentioned earlier, Mary Cooper still
sitting at one catch for ten yards.
Speaker 1 (01:16:15):
Day care.
Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
Remember yes, last week I asked you, is he acted
right right?
Speaker 11 (01:16:19):
I didn't mention him in the missus last last week
because I straight up didn't see it. He had zero
last It is hard to it is hard to register
anything when you don't even get a target. But he
had one target so far today for a ten yard catch.
Daltonkin Kate has four catches but for fifteen yards on
six targets. And if you were chasing the Niners running game,
(01:16:41):
Patrick Taylor their next man up today. Currently Patrick Taylor
six carries for twenty one yards on the ground. Nothing
going in the receiving game. Actually, Deebo Samuel is their
leading rusher. At the moment four carries for twenty four
yards on the ground. Deebo yes, did have a touchdown
five catches on seven targets for sixty four yard. It's
in the touchdowns through the air. So those are your
(01:17:02):
fantasy hits and misses from I was.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Forced first forced to play Deebo this week.
Speaker 5 (01:17:07):
I had no options.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
I had David Montgomery, Boom mcil Isaac Carendo poom hamstring.
Three days later, I had Debo on the bench all year,
lamenting that I didn't trade demand. And now here we
are twenty points and in the most pivotal game of
the Fantasy week. Somebody's happy between Deebo and James Cook.
(01:17:29):
I also started a.
Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
Little secure, so I'm all over the place with my
hits and misses.
Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
But it was a decision between chasing the Lions run
game with Craig Reynolds or Debo, and I made the
right choice by sixteen points.
Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
Thank you, hold your applause.
Speaker 4 (01:17:44):
You know what, I've realized what the one thing that
I do lack with you guys. I don't know any
of these names you guys are talking about it, So
I just I'll sit like some of these somebody of
course you just said somebody after that.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Oh, Craig Reynolds.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
Idea is so I think you guys would have a
better understanding of personnel when it comes to you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
I'm not quite the three deep. I'm not the fantasy
nerd that Bursch is.
Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
But Bursch and his group text have been arguing Patrick
Taylor Craig Reynolds all week.
Speaker 5 (01:18:15):
I'm sure if you said Patrick Taylor, I'd like who
the actor? That's what I would probably.
Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
Yeah, yeah, so that's where I am. Yeah, Patrick Taylor.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
Actually Patrick Taylor who last year cost me a fantasy
football championship because he caught He had every fourth quarter
carry in the Green.
Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Bay Packers last game of the year.
Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
Josh Jackons didn't have a single one of them.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
And that's all I needed, was like three points. That's
all I would have taken.
Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
Three points, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
So last week Ian sold me this, and or yesterday, Ian,
my producer for my Saturday show, showed me, you know,
the Bengals went out, Joe Burrow is probably gonna be
the MVP. I was like, the Bengals aren't gonna win,
there's no chance. Twenty four to six.
Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
Today Burrow two fifty two three touchdowns and Jamar Chase
with a touchdown as well. You look at the way
this whole schedule leans out, it's not crazy to think
that the Bengals could do it.
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
Oh yeah, I'm with Ann on that.
Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
I thought.
Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
I'm not as far as winning the MVP, no, that's
that's out the question. But they can make the playoffs.
I believe in that as well.
Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
If all those as part of it is that they
do make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:19:13):
As bad as that defensives has been, for sure, with
the numbers that Burrow has put up, you gotta like,
I don't know, maybe it changes the conversation a bit
if buff I mean, if Cincinnati gets in there, where
would you rank them in terms of dangerous level in
the AFC?
Speaker 5 (01:19:26):
They're not dangerous.
Speaker 4 (01:19:27):
I mean they're dangerous enough to make a game really
competitive against those top guys, but the defense sucks. They're
not gonna win. But it'll be a fun story to
have him in the mix with those other guys, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
It would be good.
Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
I'd like to see Cincinnati turn that around.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
How about this Buffalo now extending their lead on a
backwards pass that ended up being a fumble. Toron Johnson
recovers it in the end zone. I was twenty four
to fourteen bills over the Patriots, ten ten left. In
the fourth quarter, Rock Party on third and one is
throws a completion to get the first down, nineteen to
ten My with the lead twenty four to twenty Seattle
(01:20:02):
over Minnesota. Manzi Blanios will have all the details in
just a minute. We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
We've reached a two minute warning in Minnesota and Seattle.
Martin Weiss and Carrie Rhodes broadcasts and laugh from the
terry rack dot com studios tyre iraq dot com. We'll
hope you get there with an unmaxed selection fast free
ship and Freud as a protection over ten thousand recommended
the dollars. Tire rack dot com is the way that
tire buying should be. The Seattle Seahawks come down score
(01:20:34):
a touchdown. Then I turned to carry and say, with
four thirty one left, is this Sam Darnold's MVP moment? Really,
it was justin Jefferson with a crazy catch in the
back of the end zone to go ahead and take
the lead. Now, Seattle does have the ball down three.
Gino Smith just sacked on a third down attempt. I
(01:20:55):
believe it was third down, So we'll see what they
decided to do here at fourth and fifteen at two
minute warning for Seattle, they have a decision to make.
They do have two of their three alloted timeouts. The
Vegas Raiders just went into the end zone nineteen to
fourteen to score. Their two point conversion was not successful.
It looks like, yeah, we've tried to go for a
(01:21:16):
two point version of Mirabdulla gets into the end zone.
If you started hitting the fantasy I'm sorry for your
losses because you probably had a lot better options. The
Dolphins and with a two point lead over San Francisco
right now, nineteen to seventeen, this Seattle Minutesota game has
been back and forth in this fourth quartercare with both
quarterbacks leading pretty big time drives.
Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
Yeah, this is a huge moment, I mean big game
for both Seattle definitely needs to win this game to
keep pace with the Rams. But yeah, it's a big
fourth down. I think it's two minute warning, so they
come back. It'll be fourth down for Geno Smith. He
tried to throw it in the seption on second down,
they didn't catch it, so we'll see what happens.
Speaker 5 (01:21:53):
Here on fourth down for Seattle.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
He tried his best to say they tried to why
he doesn't play offense, that's right there. If so, if
Seattle loses this game, what's the outlook here? As that
would will because you know, I'm looking at it like
the Minnesota loss. Okay, Well, Minnesota winning this game give
them a boost up on Philly in terms of potential
division right because obviously they're Philly's gonna win their division,
(01:22:17):
so they'll.
Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
Have the home playoff game.
Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
But Minnesota could leapfrog them should they overtake Detroit. But
for Seattle, a team that is like there's only going
to be one team from the NFC West getting in here,
your rams, the team that you said a sneaky yacht
start out one to four have been on fire since
won another game today, nineteen to nine. That's the second
(01:22:39):
consecutive game. I believe they scored less than twenty points
in a victory. So the NFC West to me, as
even though the Cardinals are eliminated, so are the forty
nine ers still up for grabs?
Speaker 4 (01:22:51):
Oh no, Seattle if they lose this game, essentially, there'll
be two games back of the Rams. Right the Rams
beat them, and so right now the Rams and six,
Seattle's eight and six. They lose this game, they'll be
eight and seven, and so don't have to be perfect
down the stretcher to get to get that division.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
It's a lineup for a sixty yard field goal attempt.
Speaker 5 (01:23:11):
Oh wow, they went with the field goal.
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Okay, Jason Meyer up and he's got the leg straight,
he's got the he does not have to work. He
did not have it looked like he had the leg.
Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
Dad.
Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
Yeah, that's a tough one. Uh A sixty yard huh?
I guess it was long. It was like fourth and
like sixteen, so I mean, I understand it.
Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
But well it's fourth and sixteen, and as you just
lay it out, it's basically for the season.
Speaker 5 (01:23:36):
Yeah, a sixty yard or the tighter guy, no win.
Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
So he was nowhere.
Speaker 5 (01:23:42):
He was way short, so short into the right d
a little bit. Yeah, it wasn't that.
Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Yeah, yeah, kind of like three yards short. I say,
at what point do you think might be dadd Mike
McDonald was like, damn.
Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
It once when he kicked it. Yeah, you can hear
it on the field.
Speaker 4 (01:24:00):
I mean, if the ball has a certain sound, you
know it has probably had the leg to get there.
But yeah, that was that's a long kick man.
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
So I asked you earlier today, Yep, at what point
there is a team like New England that they can
win the game against a team like Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Just to set the stage, Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (01:24:18):
Eleven and three, New England three and eleven. They had
a touchdown lead when I asked you that, and you said,
not until the fourth quarter. Since that moment, it has
gone Nothing has gone right for the Patriots and everything
has gone right for the Bills since that moment. Oh
Amari Cooper, welcome back. He had another target, But that's
(01:24:38):
about it. But you know, Buffalo, since then, I believe
he scored twenty one on answered points.
Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
Yeah no, yeah, it was fourteen seven. They scored seventeen
on answer but seventeen but there you go math. Yeah, yeah,
but no, that's what happens when you're a bad team,
like you anticipate something bad happening instead of being confident
that you're about to win the game. At that point,
it's like we've been here before. They've been enough those
games to know that they usually this season have lost
(01:25:04):
those games, and so to be up fourteen to seven
early in the third quarter doesn't mean much until you
get to that fourth quarter.
Speaker 5 (01:25:11):
As we see now they're down ten. So no bad
teams find ways to lose.
Speaker 4 (01:25:15):
And when you're throwing backwards passes and for fumbles for
them to score touchdowns in the zone, you're not gonna
win those games.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
Was definitely a tough look. There u one forty seven
left in the fourth quarter. It's third and seven for
the Minnesota Vikings. Seattle burned its last time out with
the clocket stopped to trying to get back in this game. Well,
if you're a defensive obviously you're a defensive player, but
if you're a defensive coordinator, right here, you know you
got Darnold, you got Jefferson, you got Addison, and you
(01:25:43):
got Jones and Hockinson. What are you calling here to
try to force Minnesota off the field?
Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
All right, it's hard. I mean at this point, you
have no timeouts. Seattle needs the ball back here. Minnesota
may be patients just run the ball up, but they
ran sactually play actions, but see he'll take it down,
so you don't have an incompletion. So Seattle will have
a chance to get the ball back. But yeah, you
want to you want to go. You want to make
them make the mistake here in this situation. You want
(01:26:11):
them to be over zealous like Minnesota tried to do
here and throw the ball because if you get into completion,
you get a lot of time left. And so I
mean Sam Donold did a good job here of just.
Speaker 3 (01:26:21):
Giving himself up.
Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
Yeah you have to eleven yards.
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
Yeah, but it was an eight yard loss there.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
There's gonna be there's the play clock says fourteen, the
game clock says one to twelve all the way down.
They'll run it down to about Seattle should get the
ball back with about.
Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
Fifty seven seconds left. You know, win Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
Here alexta punt Josh Allen on third and ten, scrambled
for three yards. Buffalo punting back to New England. But
that's a two score game with four forty left. With
seven to twenty left, Brock Paridies dropping back on third
and four, completes a pass to that is Patrick Taylor.
Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
But mind right there, that is Patrick Taylor.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
Nice he completes a Pass's now fourth and three, Amy
getting the ball back. San Francisco trails by two.
Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
Nineteen to seventeen seven or six left.
Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
But turn our attention back here to this Minnesota game,
which Minnesota calls the time out to go ahead and
avoid the delayed game penalty. One on one left down
a field goal. You just tried to kick a sixty
yard er which was short by about two two three yards.
So you feel good about fifty five and in.
Speaker 4 (01:27:24):
I don't feel good about nothing when when it comes
to a kicker making the late kick. I mean, it's
always situations. And then Seattle's a tough place to kick.
I mean it's the win. There is a problem and
and you know, use a lot of times you have
a lot of precipitation in that area as well. Right
now they don't have that. But it's not an easy
place to kick a long distant field goal. So I
(01:27:45):
have no faith in that. But you know, you get
another chance. You got time.
Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
Well, what's your faith in Gino Smith and this offense
getting into a position in which they can win this game.
Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
He's got eighteen career winning drives. Last one week thirteen
against the Jets.
Speaker 4 (01:27:58):
It's fifty to fifty because like no can make plays
there and he can get them in a position to
uh to at least attempt to kick, but he can
also through interception on the first place. So I just
we're gonna have to see here as as this drive starts, it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
Starts to his own fourteens, you've got eighty six yards
to change the results.
Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
Of this one as a stands right now.
Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
But this Minnesota defense as well under Brian floor As
has been aggressive that it has been very interesting. It
fooled a lot of guys. Yeah, Geno Smith, you know,
doesn't necessarily need to have the calculus exam in front
of him to get fooled. But when you're looking at this,
oh here we go off to a great start with
the false star by the right tackle.
Speaker 4 (01:28:39):
Yeah, no, this situation, I mean you won't you won't
see the exotic stuff in this situation with from Brian
flore Ed's it's a two minute situation. So it's gonna
be no huddle. So you just want to get into
your your your time consuming defenses. So let them catch
the ball across the middle. Make sure that make sure
that when they catch the ball they stand bounds. It's
not for a pre but it's the exotic looks is
(01:29:01):
going to be hard to do here.
Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
So the Seahawks average seventy seven penalty yards throws an
interception on the first I said the first, the very
first play of the Dwelt and Gino's defense. Now, the
first player of the drive didn't count because it was
a false starcount.
Speaker 5 (01:29:19):
I've told you what did I say?
Speaker 4 (01:29:21):
You did?
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
Bird? Absolutely Gino Smith interception as the Minnesota Vikings do
a Corey Graph dance. Here, ninety seven needs to get
in tuned with the heads. He's trying to keep up
with the guy who caught the interception. But it is
a touchdown or will be a touchdown. I imagine there's
a flag on the play. That's gotta be for something
after them. It's gotta be after Mark.
Speaker 4 (01:29:42):
I told you it's just look at that defense though
they got three guys back, which is the like I
told you that the soft defense. Let him catch you
right there in the middle to make the tackle. Why
does he throw that ball with the safety's over there?
Doesn't even make any sense. So this is the defense
that they say, all right, guard the sideline. Yes, we're
gonna let you catch the ball in bounds, and we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:30:00):
Then Gino Smith proceeded to throw the ball out to
the sideline.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
The dbreaking route should have been open.
Speaker 4 (01:30:07):
There it yes, because they were there, Yes, and he
throws it to where the guy is and it's just
it sucks. But I mean, Geno is, like I said,
he's he's a good player.
Speaker 7 (01:30:18):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
He makes a lot of mistakes though, and it's gonna
be tough for them obviously now after this loss to
win a division. But they're still there's still they still
have a chance though.
Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
All right, Gerry, there's one player that I feel probably
should be a shoe in for this award, okay, and
nobody is talking about it, and he just got a
first down right here. We're gonna talk about it coming
up in just a moment here, Martin Weis, Kerrie Rose,
Fox Sports Red Zone Sunday.
Speaker 6 (01:30:46):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
So it's a rampant see out the Minnesota Vikings walk
in the trap and take over the Trap twenty seven
to twenty four.
Speaker 3 (01:31:07):
The Minnesota Vikings victorious improved.
Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
Now to get there? What is that there? Thirteenth win
of the season. Seattle falls to eight and seven. Martin
Weis Kerry Rose coming to you live from the tire
rack dot Com studios on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Looking at the rest of these late games wrapping up here, Carrie. Yep,
we have the Dolphins and the forty nine ers, and
(01:31:31):
really this Patriots Bills game. The Patriots, like I said, initially,
this two minutes left in the fourth quarter or at
the two minute warning at both of those games, mind.
Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
You, Patriots just.
Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
Nothing promising in the second half at all. Got down
to the red zone just now and had three of
the worst players you'll ever see in the consecutive order. Like,
but I guess you know, there's no I guess there's
not much to say there besides, this is what makes
bad teams bad. Yeah, And then because you said that,
initially I thought about it. I was like, you know what, Okay,
(01:32:08):
got it. That's when you're a bad team like that.
Then we watched Seattle. We watched Seattle. Abraham Lucas jumps offside,
It jumps, false starts on the first play, second play,
throws an interception. Gino Smith does the average seventy seven
yards of penalty yards per game. That's what keeps good
teams from being great. Yep, right there, and if they're
(01:32:30):
able to dial back some of them, and that's what's tantalizing,
I'm sure about it. Maybe just made one less mistake
or you made one less penalty. Look at what would
have happened. Maybe if that first, maybe that first and
ten is not first in fifteen, Gino doesn't throw the
out route. You know, all those things happened to occur.
But ultimately Seattle good team, not great team. Yeah, No,
(01:32:51):
what makes teams great?
Speaker 4 (01:32:52):
Obviously we see the Chiefs, right, they don't do everything exceptionally,
but they do everything really good this year, right, and
in moments when they're really good, has you know, a
moment to improve in the last two minutes or the
last four minutes of a game. Kansas City makes those
(01:33:12):
plays because they're so good, they're so consistent at what
they're good at, that you have a chance to elevate
when you're a team that tries to make up for
certain deficiencies, or you're the most penalized team in the league.
Take for Baltimore, the Baltimore Ravens, right, they're the most
penalized team in the league. Right, So what that does
is hold them back from being great so far as well,
(01:33:33):
where you'll come into a game like, how.
Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
Do they lose that game?
Speaker 5 (01:33:35):
How do they lose to the Raiders? Because they're not
consistently good.
Speaker 4 (01:33:40):
You have to be consistently good first to be great,
and a lot of these teams in the NFL, they aren't.
Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
That major fantasy football implications at stake two minute warning
San Francisco and Miami no playoff implications at steak as
brock Party throws an interception to.
Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
Cater COO, who you know what?
Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Didn't need that? Who didn't need that?
Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
I didn't need that?
Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
One fifty one left in the fourth Quarter's gonna be
Miami's ball.
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
They have a five point lead.
Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
I was about to say, George Kittle, I'm sure is
getting started in a ton of leagues. Maybe guys like
the Birds that earlier chased the forty nine ers running situation,
Maybe he started brock Party. But ultimately the San Francisco
forty nine Ers put a bow on what has been
a terrible year and for their standards and really slopping
offensive playoff season.
Speaker 4 (01:34:28):
Yeah, it's that's a tough one. I mean, Perdy got
nailed on that play, but it's still not over. Miami
still needs the first down. They San Francisco kept all
three timeouts in the back pocket, so true still still
have to get a first down to clinch this game.
Speaker 2 (01:34:41):
What is he Oh, that's what he's looking at. He's
looking at ninety three coming to land right on his
rib cage. That's what he's looking at. Yes, because it
was Juwan Jennings. Is an attempt to a receiver there.
I don't know if you've been paying any attention to
the Patriots and the Bills. All that's been for the
last six plays is Drake made running like a madman
for his entire life.
Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
They've been in the red zone for it feels like
the whole quarter happened.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Has been to score and we watched and now it's
a third and goal here with one fifty one fifty
four left, Drake May.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
Drops back, throws it up to the left side of
the screen.
Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
There there were that's okay, this is all right. Hold on,
I'll paint the picture for just a moment here. Come on,
Because New England had two receivers in the end zone. Okay,
the two receivers to Mario Douglas and it looked like
Keishawn Booty. Booty was the I think the intended receiver,
(01:35:37):
but I'm not sure. Kayr Elam tackles him in the
end zone, tackles eighty four.
Speaker 3 (01:35:42):
He tackles Kendrick Bourne, sorry, Kendrick.
Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
Bourne is there, tackles him. But he's what these both
of those guys were. I mean, the Mario Douglas is
wide open, three feet in front of him. There's it's
legitimately like a two on one, fast breaking basketball, and
he threw it to the guy.
Speaker 5 (01:36:00):
But he's looking that way too, So how does he
miss the one that's the shorter, the shorter.
Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
Throw, the shorter, easier, more sure touchdown throw. Was definitely
just missing out that Mario Douglas gets a touchdown on
the next play.
Speaker 3 (01:36:13):
I guess all's well that ends. Well, that's one that
in film study.
Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
I feel like Drake Mayje is gonna look at the
at the at Alex van Pelt he got the touch
the next play, but I feel like that's one in
film study, Drake Major's gonna look and shrug his shoulders
to be like, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
Yeah, I'm just throwing at it in that direction. Whoever
catches it catches it. That's kind of what it looked like.
Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
Alec Ingold got the first down you were talking about
for the Miami Dolphins, not devine a Chan thanks a lot.
Speaker 7 (01:36:42):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:36:42):
One forty three left in the fourth quarter here, San
Francisco takes your time out. But again, now it's gonna
take you know, Miami's gonna have to make a colossal
mistake here to lose this game.
Speaker 4 (01:36:53):
They better just take a knee and in this game.
But yeah, all they need is to take a knee.
Now they got the first down. Oh no, Sam has
one time out, so they got to run one more
play here.
Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
They do have to be able, so I would just
I suggest, uh running the ball with Devin h That'd
be my call. And then I know we haven't talked
much about this game, but Mac Jones is trying to
get the Jaguars into a potential game tying touchdown drive
one twenty left in the fourth quarter, nineteen to fourteen
to score. I'll be honest, I don't know anything that's
(01:37:25):
been going on in this game because the team teams
have combined five wins and combined twenty three losses. They're
competing for the Shador Sanders Bowl essentially, but All Vegas
doesn't want to win that. As Devon ah Chan runing
Tollis Jones, Oh no, he did not. Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:37:45):
Look at.
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
That is a fantasy hit for sure.
Speaker 11 (01:37:50):
Well done.
Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
We call they say, speaking into existence. It works. Manifestation people, manifestation.
Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
All right, I'm openly.
Speaker 2 (01:37:59):
Rooting for this because that was a fifty yard run
San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (01:38:03):
I mean to say they didn't fit the run.
Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
Wow, terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:38:08):
That was the last play of the game that they're
going to run two absolute. He took it to the house.
It's just that's that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Twenty eight to seventeen. Now the score one thirty six left.
Martin Weiss's advances to the All right, as mac Jones
right now, fourth and one here, they hand the ball
off to etn He gets the first down. They have
the ball in uh Raider territory. Now as they're trying
to just oh my goodness, this is I mean, you
(01:38:36):
can't get out of their own way. There's a flag
now being thrown. It feels like it's on Jacksonville. But again,
that's what bad teams do. That's what they do. This
is what bad teams do.
Speaker 3 (01:38:45):
New England is on their seventeenth consecutive red zone snap.
Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
I thought, that's I don't know how this is. This
is ridiculous. I'm not sure what's going on.
Speaker 5 (01:38:54):
It looks like Keystone Cops is what it looks like.
Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
I mean, for real, because it was a touchdown. Now
it must have been reviewed because it came off the board.
And now on second down, Drake made drops the snap,
a snap that hits him in the hands cause he
takes two steps back, drops on the ground.
Speaker 3 (01:39:10):
Buffalo shack, third and goal. Now they refuse to score.
Speaker 5 (01:39:15):
Somebody please cue the Benny Heel music for that. That
was That was That was insane.
Speaker 3 (01:39:19):
This is like Benny Hill music.
Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
There we go, there it is, and let's see, Oh
Hunter Henry scores a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:39:27):
What happens next?
Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
Off the field? Flag anywhere? Oh? Sure?
Speaker 7 (01:39:33):
Do?
Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
They don't want to give New England there's more opportunities
in the red zone, just just for whatever reason.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
Twenty four to twenty extra point pending as the.
Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
Raiders look like they're gonna go ahead and stop the
Jaguars in a feudal comeback attempt.
Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
Your season was over already, Dug, you don't look like that.
I'm sorry, Hunter Henry with this second touchdown catching airs,
you know this all this is what it's like to
do this Red celf Rad. He just watches all this
stuff happen.
Speaker 5 (01:39:56):
Okay, that's a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:39:57):
It's a lot. It's a lot going on.
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
It's a lot going on. Calvin Ridley stops short, the
Raiders go ahead forwards. The Jaguars looks like off the
field here in New England.
Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
Now twenty one to twenty four of the score only
trailing by three. Buffalo again, I told you have fourteen
point favorites. Oh, you gotta look out for fourteen. This
is not college football. No, we saw that all college
football the first round of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
This is The margins are much thinner in the NFL
than they are in college football. Then what do you
talk about? Real quick? I think the margins in college
football as well will be shortening as well. Like I
think the days after this season, the days of the
undefeated champion are going to probably be done. Oh yeah,
the depth is going to be a spread across You
got more teams than ever, more schools than ever, who
(01:40:46):
are like if you're a team like a Louisville no offense,
but I'm serious, like a Louisville or a SMU or
there's a real Hey, we can make the playoff and
we can win the national champions Yeah, that's a legitimate
sell at so many schools now that it didn't used
to be. Because you're gonna be in the dance. That
(01:41:07):
transfer portal gonna come calling, Like I remember watching it
yesterday as Ohio State was up by a million and
a half points over Tennessee, watched Carnell Tate catch a ball.
Carnel Tate would have been a first round pick if
he had left a few or your first second.
Speaker 3 (01:41:20):
Round Pickfield left two years.
Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
He's not staying at Ohio Stake that style of receiver,
like the guy, that style of player, a guy who's
a borderline, the guy who's a pro. But then other
pros come and they're better than it. He's gonna go
somewhere else, and the where's he gonna go a place
he has a chance to win.
Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
I know where we have the best chance to win
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
That's kicking over to Massi Bolanos for an update and
everything going on in the worlds it's forth.
Speaker 3 (01:41:45):
It's seven thirty, girl.
Speaker 9 (01:41:47):
I'm trying to see this onside kick, haven't e between
the Patriots and the Bills. And so it took a bounce,
It got scary for just a second. It took a bound,
says the Patriots would want, but the Bills got it. Sorry,
That's what I was watching the book Your Face.
Speaker 10 (01:42:05):
I was, I was focused.
Speaker 1 (01:42:07):
I get I got it.
Speaker 10 (01:42:07):
And then I heard the little music and I was like, oh,
that's me.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
You look like the guy who won't play it against
your fantasy football with Devon ah Ran at fifty.
Speaker 10 (01:42:15):
I saw that.
Speaker 9 (01:42:16):
I'm just glad I'm not playing against Stevan Hien because
that would have sucked for sure.
Speaker 10 (01:42:22):
But good for anyone who has some congratulations on that.
Speaker 9 (01:42:25):
The Dolphins are on top of the forty nine Ers
twenty nine to seventeen. Uh probably the end on that
game and the Raiders trying to hold onto their lead
over the Jaguars. Nineteen fourteen is the score and that one,
and like I said, the Bills did get control of
that on side kick from the Patriots without a minute
and thirteen to go. Bills are on top twenty four
(01:42:45):
to twenty one. They just got the first down, so
now the clock is running at one four left. What
happened earlier in the day in the world of football,
while the Lions improved to thirteen and two after topping
the Bears thirty four to seventeen, the twins in a
season in franchise history for Detroit, Jared Goff threw for
three hundred and thirty six yards and three touchdowns. He
(01:43:07):
has thirty three touchdowns, which is a career high for
Jared Goff. The Commanders came back to beat the Eagles
thirty six to thirty three.
Speaker 10 (01:43:14):
They are now ten and five for the season.
Speaker 9 (01:43:15):
Philadelphia did lose Jalen Hurts early in the game today concussion,
but Jayden Daniels took advantage.
Speaker 10 (01:43:21):
He threw for two hundred and fifty seven yards five touchdowns.
He did have two interceptions, but it didn't matter. The
Falcons they crushed the Giants thirty four to seven.
Speaker 9 (01:43:29):
They are now eight and seven, the most wins for
Atlanta since twenty seventeen. The Bengals are still alive. They
outscored the Browns twenty four to six. Give it up
again for Miles Garrett, first player in NFL history to
reach one hundred sacks, one hundred sacks before turning twenty nine,
I confirmed he is twenty eight.
Speaker 10 (01:43:45):
Carry he is, so yes, I was, I know, I
was like before turning twenty nine. Oh yeah, man, he's
twenty eight.
Speaker 9 (01:43:51):
The Colts hold on to beat the Titans thirty eight
to thirty, while the Rams defeated the Jets nineteen to nine,
and the Panthers had a thirty six to thirty win
over the Cardinals in over time. So because of all
of these games Arizona, the forty nine Ers, the Cowboys,
they have been eliminated from the playoffs.
Speaker 10 (01:44:08):
So, you know, it sucks.
Speaker 2 (01:44:10):
It sucks.
Speaker 10 (01:44:11):
It sucks, it really does. I did not I did
not have the forty nine ers not making the playoffs
on mine.
Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
I don't think anybody. Oh I know one person who did, Martin,
Gregory Martin. At the beginning of the season. At the
beginning of the season.
Speaker 10 (01:44:24):
You said forty nine ersre not gonna make the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
I said, the forty nine ers are going to make
the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
Mary after that, After that, I said, it's because the
Cardinals are going to win the NFC West, I see,
and they're only going to get one team.
Speaker 5 (01:44:36):
In but so you're only good for half a take.
Speaker 3 (01:44:39):
So it's like it depends on how far the take goes.
Speaker 9 (01:44:42):
No, I hear you, because I said the Chargers were
going to make the playoffs, but I said the Bills wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (01:44:47):
So that's so so you know what I mean? Like,
I hear you, Martin, I hear you.
Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
How long do we take the take?
Speaker 6 (01:44:54):
Right?
Speaker 10 (01:44:55):
Where do we stop the team?
Speaker 5 (01:44:56):
Do we stop the take?
Speaker 2 (01:44:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (01:44:57):
Exactly, exactly, guys, it's.
Speaker 2 (01:44:59):
Been I choose to stop the take when I'm no
longer right of course, right right, that's good most people.
Speaker 10 (01:45:05):
Oh yeah, yeah, but you know, if we keep their rolling,
you know, you hear that. I said, no, the Bills
aren't going.
Speaker 5 (01:45:10):
To a good director told me you never stopped the tape.
Speaker 10 (01:45:15):
You never stopped rolling.
Speaker 2 (01:45:16):
You never stop rolling. No, I wonder how many takes
that guy has? All right, where's Fielsburg takes? What's you think?
Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
Who's the MVP?
Speaker 2 (01:45:24):
Josh Allen?
Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
Is Saquon scorchay.
Speaker 10 (01:45:26):
Zya Scorzazy Nice I liked Alan.
Speaker 5 (01:45:29):
It's anybody you wanted to be? Is anybody you wanted.
Speaker 2 (01:45:32):
To do well? Third and one right now with fifty
four sheckons left x montis twenty four to twenty one.
I need to get a first down here. While Buffalo's
in field goal range, as she was, New England's able
to stonewall them here they do, that's gonna be a
fourth down. Now, there's a decision to make forty five
(01:45:52):
sheckings left. By the time you make this decision, what,
it'll be nine seconds left. It's almost like he did
this for a living. I was like, over there, carry
the one, all of this nine seconds left. It'll be
nine seconds left by the time the next place snap.
Do you kick a field goal?
Speaker 6 (01:46:09):
Here?
Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
What do you do with nine seconds up three?
Speaker 4 (01:46:11):
You don't risk kicking the field goal the ball back,
You just run. Josh Allen got a big quarterback, run
the quarterback snake and get the first down.
Speaker 2 (01:46:18):
Games over. Okay, so watch watch what happens, all right,
we'll see a touch pushy in effect here speaking. Did
the Eagles run a touch push today at work? I
don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:46:29):
I didn't see. I didn't see the Eagle game today.
Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
Yeah. I was about to say after Jalen Hurts got out,
because I think that's something that like, okay, if people
make fun of it, and I actually personally think it's
disgusting and a crime against football. It's rugby, it's not football.
But yeah, it is very effective all in short yardage.
And if the Eagles don't have that as a weapon
going forward, if they don't feel as comfortable running it
(01:46:51):
with Kenny Pickett as they do with Jalen Hurts, I
think that's going to be impactful.
Speaker 4 (01:46:55):
Well, I think any other year except for this year.
They have a guy that's in the nb DP conversation.
So how about give him them touchdowns on the one
yard line?
Speaker 3 (01:47:04):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:47:05):
It kind of huh? He did get one, He got
one today. Yeah, I know, I was.
Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
Watching and most of the time though, when he gets
down on that one yard Jalen.
Speaker 3 (01:47:17):
Ten seconds left, Oh carry, you're off by one?
Speaker 2 (01:47:19):
What are you doing? All right?
Speaker 5 (01:47:22):
They stopped? They stopped it when I stopped fourth.
Speaker 3 (01:47:25):
And one, looks like Buffalo is lining up for the sneak?
What will they do here? As I mean, he's got
five seconds to run the play?
Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
All the changes the play? What's up? All right? Over
the top. First of the Patriots's first down game is over.
Buffalo will advance to twelve and three. New England falls
to three and twelve, So this one much closer than
the odds makers expected. But ultimately Buffalo. Okay, I was
(01:47:53):
concerned about Buffalo going into this game, yep, Because as
much as Josh Allen had been Superman the last two weeks,
the Patriots defense, I mean Bill's defense had also given
up like over eighty something points. That's right, but to
the Rams and the Lions, two pretty decent offense his
playoff teams. But again, like I just said, the Rams
have not won their last two scoring less than twenty
(01:48:14):
That's r right. Lions obviously been explosive all year. That
concerned me when I look at this offense, the Patriots one, yep,
scoring twenty one points on this Buffalo defense. I still
am concerned about Buffalo's defense when I look at the
way that New England has played against a lot of
other teams. When I look at the way New England
(01:48:35):
played today, Buffalo's defense, especially now losing Toron Johnson. To me,
he's top five nickel corner in the game, and he's
not fifth, right, He's up there but Burns and Kenny Moore.
But losing him to a concussion, we'll see how long
he'll be out for But this Bill's defense. To me,
when I'm poking holes at the contenders, that's where I'm
(01:48:55):
poking the hole. Oh for sure.
Speaker 5 (01:48:57):
I mean we saw it last week.
Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:48:59):
As good as Silent played, he had to be. He
had to be that good for him to win that game.
And obviously the Lions are going to score against anybody.
But the amount of points in that game, I think
it was like ninety points in that game. It's just
crazy from two teams that are contending or contenders right. So, yes,
every team has a flaw this year, and I think
(01:49:19):
those two teams in particular, with Buffalo being right at
the forefront, they have very good to have glaring issues
on the defensive side of the ball right now, and
for them to actually win it, they're going to have to.
Speaker 5 (01:49:31):
Show up some of those things.
Speaker 2 (01:49:32):
Absolutely. So we did have a handful of teams eliminated
from playoff contention today on the NFC side of things.
Cardinals did it to themselves, forty nine ers as well.
Cowboys didn't even play yet today, but guess what, you
won't be playing in January as well. So out of
these kind of these three teams that were eliminated from
(01:49:53):
the NFC side of things today, Carrie, which one of
these teams you think is in the best position to
turn it around next year? Three? Again, it's the Rams,
I mean the Cardinals, the Cardinals, the forty nineers of
the Cowboys got knocked out in the playoff today?
Speaker 5 (01:50:09):
Which three aren't the best? Which one of those three
on the best position?
Speaker 4 (01:50:13):
I would probably say I'd say the Cardinals because they
have a head coach that has their team I think overachieving.
And so if you have a team, if you can,
if you can get a team to overachieve, that means
if you get the the prerequisite talent there that's needed
for them to move forward and get, you know, put
(01:50:34):
a better product on the field, they're being a better position.
So I'll say the Cardinals because of the culture that
Jonathan Gannon has put out there. I mean, the Cowboys
have too many questions. They don't know if their head
coach is going to be there, and then you know
it's yeah, I would say I would say the Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (01:50:50):
What about you?
Speaker 3 (01:50:51):
Oh, I would have told you the Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (01:50:53):
But also am scarred now because here's the thing with
the Arizona Cardinals. Your Arizona Cardinal arrows on the card
Remember the rub was they start out hot as soon
as the weather turns, showed does the offense. But that
a lot of that was, oh you know, that's Cliff Kingsbury,
all that running shoe all. You know, where's the toughness? Well,
(01:51:15):
to me, this football.
Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
Team, especially behind James Connor offensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:51:21):
This is a tough football team for sure. But this offense,
the same as it has in every year that Kyler
Murray has been healthy thus far, starts out hot and
goes right off of those dive same thing this year.
Speaker 1 (01:51:36):
Is it a is it Kyler?
Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
Is it scheme? Is it a marriage of the two
that needs to be evaluated? They called a couple's therapists
or whatever because it ain't working.
Speaker 4 (01:51:47):
Yeah, No, Kyler Murray has to be better. He's he's
in the same class right now as a Geno Smith.
He can make plays, he can wow you at certain times.
But he's gonna he's gonna throw the turnover. He's gonna
make a turnover, silly mistake that cost his team. But again,
the Cardinals, they are not that talented of a team.
If you look at their roster, it's it's a it's a.
(01:52:09):
It's a bunch of pros, but it's a bunch of.
Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
So it's a roster building.
Speaker 4 (01:52:12):
This roster building is roster construction is the next step
they need to that's what they need to have. Culture
they have, they have a coach that they believe in.
I said, they play hard, so the culture's there. If
they get more players in that Schame, I think they'll
be fine. But it again, Kyler Murray has to play
better too.
Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
Did not love the rookie year that Marvin Harrison's been
having thus far. Yeah, it's it's odd that they have
not been able to find any level of connection. And
Marvin Harrison Junior had a lot of non football news
from this last game at Ohio State. Second and last
game at Ohio State. Of course was they lost to Michigan.
(01:52:48):
That's apropos nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:52:50):
Something.
Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
But he had a lot and it's none of it
was like, oh he's in trouble or we It was
just odd things like the fanatics, a lot of stuff
that you know, he's kind of not doing combine work.
Speaker 3 (01:53:03):
He's like training for the season.
Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
I wonder how I wonder if now, after seeing the
way the season went, if you would evaluate differently his
off season.
Speaker 3 (01:53:13):
I expect him to have a massive second sophomore campaign.
Speaker 2 (01:53:17):
Yeah. I think a lot of that stands with his
dad being right.
Speaker 4 (01:53:20):
His dad is one of the best and one of
the greatest, so I'm sure he's given him the blueprint
on a lot of that stuff. And so you know,
he's a young man man young young men that have
had success and has a pedigree, they already have a
blueprint to follow. But I think for him, he's going
to have to really invest himself in that program.
Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
Yep, you can't.
Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
You can't differentiate, differentiate yourself from the team and put
yourself in positions to be critique the way that we're
going to critique him. Now, that's part of being a pro.
And the fact that he did that for the first
year it's tough. And then you know, to see some
of these games he is open and so he's not
getting the ball. But you have to dig deeper in that,
into that, into that situation that really know what's going on.
(01:54:04):
Because he's too good of a player. I mean, you
would think that he would have been the best receiver
coming into this draft, which everybody thought, but the production
hasn't hasn't hasn't backed that up.
Speaker 2 (01:54:13):
You know, Jim Harbaugh is basically at this point coined
the phrase who's got it better than us? I'll ask
Carry Rhodes who's got it worse in between these two teams?
Martin Weis carry Roads Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:54:28):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio?

Weis's Cary Roads coming to your live from the TIREORAQ
dot Com Studios carry. I didn't want to ask you
real quick, who's got the worst situation? The Jets and
the Giants? And why both teams losers today? Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:54:48):
The Giants for sure. I mean the Giants are really really,
really really bad.
Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
The Jets.
Speaker 4 (01:54:53):
The Jets are really really really bad as well, but
they have better players. So if you're bringing the coach
there that can you know, uh, manipulate that and give
them in put them in advantageous situations, they have a
better situation.
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
Got it? So, just for those taking notes at home,
Giants really were really Jets three really all right? Glad
that we had that level of distinction. So I mean, hey,
look That's why you come to Fox Sports Radio for

All right, carry you got the Cowboys on app against
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cowboys not playing for anything as
they were eliminated for playoff contention today. Your prediction, my friend, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:59:08):
The thing coming into this game, I was leaning towards
the Cowboys actually until I heard that news. I'm sure
they heard the news as well. I'm gonna take Tampa
Bay to come in and get this win.
Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
I'm taking Tampa to win as well. For those interested,
I also think that they cover the spread. I also
personally have one thing that I'm really watching for in
this game, and that is for Mike Evans to have
a day.
Speaker 3 (01:59:31):
I need Mike Evans to get.
Speaker 2 (01:59:33):
A thousand yard receiving this season like I need air,
because if he able to do it, that'd be elevens
straight years.
Speaker 4 (01:59:40):
Man, Mike Evans is such a really good receiver man
and been underrated for such a long time, but finally
getting this due now.
Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
So yeah, I agree with you. A very interesting quarterback life,
Mike Evans, said Johnny Manzel in college, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jamis Winston,
Tom Brady and our Baker Mayfield, a lot of Heismans,
a lot of first number one overall picks, and and
Tom Brady in there too.
Speaker 5 (02:00:02):
For extra good Mason, Hey, he's had a good career.
Speaker 2 (02:00:05):
Michael Parks has played really well last week against Carolina.
I do expect him, despite everything in Dallas, to have
a good game. I know Mark Will and Eph Solam
will have a good show after we're off the air,
which will be right about now.
