And just like that, the Ravens are in the end zone.

(00:24):
two in the National Football League a bunch of crazy storylines, George.
But the biggest and by far the one that stands
out the most, the injuries that have impacted some of
the NFL's best. Nick Bosa of the forty Niners Sae
Kwon Barkley of the Giants both likely suffering season ending
knee injuries today. And there were a bunch of other

(00:45):
injuries in Week two. And this was a fear of many,
without the preseason, without the normal way that you would
enter a season, that injuries would play a factor. Boy
was that true in Week two? Yeah? And this is
why players so often want to get their money like that.
That's why they don't want to wait, oh, wait till
free agency, wait till next season. No, that's why you

(01:08):
hold out now because you never know when things are
gonna turn on you. Like you look at promising players
like Sae Kwon Barkley and you know Nick Bosa, who
was gonna be up for a Defensive Player of the
Year award, Like, you have to take advantage while while
you can, because you never know it can all come
crashing down. Alex Smith, like, real quick, My my question

(01:31):
for you is, as a player, how concerned would you
have been with the timetable we had heard? Hey we
saw a Week one we talked about the level of
play with games and said, hey, we don't need preseason anymore.
That was that was a theme. There's a narrative we
saw on social media, heard on sports talk radio on
this network, we don't need preseason anymore. Look at how
good the play wasn't Week one? Well? Is today maybe

(01:54):
an argument for a preseason? I mean, are these could
these injuries have been avoided if if there was a
prety season. It's not the preseason that that's necessary. It's
the off season in and in and of itself, that's
that's what's needed. Because even in two thousand eleven, when
there was a work stoppage, you had injuries go up significantly.

(02:16):
So it's so it's not just preseason, it's the fact
that that the acclamation period was so short. That's part
of what the players in the league were negotiating how
much time that they were gonna have between when the
season started because that acclamation period that we're seeing even

(02:37):
in college football, whether the pactual made big ten are
trying to start in four weeks instead of six weeks
because you need at least that amount of time for
the pushing and the pulling and the and just your
body to build up that that callous it's it's like
going out to go run before you stretch the older

(02:57):
and older that you get, no matter how in shape
that you are, like, you have to get yourself warmed
up before you get all before you try to go
full go. And if you don't, injuries they're gonna happen.
We're gonna check in with Chris Spielman, who was on
the call, and just a little bit of that Rams
Eagles game earlier today in Philadelphia, but a lot going
on extra point was good as Baltimore is up on
the Texans tend nothing I mentioned the Nick Bosa injury,

(03:20):
and there's more injuries for the forty Niners, where he
most didn't play in the second half because of a
knee injury. Reports it could be an mcl injury. And
then you had Jimmy Garoppolo with a high ankle sprain
and Kyle Shanahan saying that you're likely to see Nick
Mullins be the starting quarterback in Week three. So we'll
talk more about the injuries, what's going on with the
late games, but let's focus on what happened in the

(03:40):
City of Brotherly Love. No, it's time for the NFL
Fox Focus, Fox NFL analyst former NFL linebacker Chris Spielman
joins us on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio, Happy Sunday
and Week to Chris, how are you? I'm well guy,
how are you doing? Doing great? I'm gonna just bring

(04:03):
you in on the conversation George and I were having
because throughout the NFL today, Chris, just a bunch of
of injuries. What was your concern entering this season with
with NFL players in their health because of just how
awkward an offseason and preseason it was. Yeah, I mean
I don't think I was overly concerned. I think that
you know, a lot of times injuries are are just

(04:23):
bad luck, right, like the yes I say a Molow,
Isaac say a Molow the guard for the Eagles to
day as somebody falling to back of his legs. I mean,
we see that weekend in week out, But I think
it's a concern, but you know, that's part of the game.
I think what helps is the expanded practice squad roster
and plus the six veterans, with sixteen guys on practice
squad at least helps you feel the void without picking

(04:46):
guys up off the street. I guess I'm talking like
a personnel guy, somebody with not a lot of compassion. Coughs.
I'm sorry, right, I'm in football mode, So, uh, what
do you well? I looked at the injuries to obviously
Sae Kwon, Barkley, Nick Bosa, you know, Jim Jimmy Garoppolo,
and just say that that is the reason why players

(05:09):
want to get their money now instead of waiting, because
you just never know how these things are gonna go. Well,
that's why when we see contracts being signed. Robert Woods
from the Rams just signed a big contract with thirty
two million guaranteed. I believe it's thirty two millions something
like that. I guess once you get thirty, it doesn't
really matter how many millions are guaranteed. But I think

(05:29):
that's the important thing. I'm all for the players, right,
so I believe in that and get as much as
you can upfront because of the volatility of our business.
Chris Filman joining us here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
He was on the call of the Rams Eagles game.
I want to start out with the good and you know,
Rams didn't make the playoffs last year, but it wasn't
nine and seven team, but it was coming off of
a season where they went to the Super Bowl the

(05:49):
year prior. What is different about this Rams team this year?
Was it was last year just a hiccup? Or what
was the message when you talked to them? And what
you saw today with the Rams was maybe different from
last year. Well, you know, the one thing they have
going for them is the healthy de offensive wine and
five really good players up front. They play well together,
and that made a comment on the broadcast. I don't

(06:10):
know if you guys saw any of the game or not,
but on the broadcast and head it looks like this
team had o t as. It looked like this team
had the preseason, and I think with uh what Sean
has been able to do, and I think where Jaredson
crew does their bootleg game is the best in the game.
I mean everything is set up off their play action
and Jared Doffs I know that you know he's not

(06:30):
the star name, but he's very efficient and he's the
perfect guy with assistant that Sean wants to run and
then are getting production. Darryl Henderson had a big day
for them when cam Makers got hurt, so you had
Darryl Henderson coming and running back and sharing Carrey's with
Malcolm Brown. They're just a good team. They're well coached team.
Brandon Daley uh is made a nice transition from Wade

(06:53):
Phillips into Brandon Daley. The Deeples a coordinator. They're just
they're solid. They're not flashy, but they're solid. And they've
end the ball in two games, I think a total
of seventies six times in two games. And so you're
gonna win. You're gonna win games if you're averaging five
and a half yards to carry and you're running the
ball seventy times in two games. That's just outstanding execution. Uh, Chris,

(07:16):
what do you make of the other side of the
ball with the Philadelphia Eagles. They're owing to and Carson
Wentz is look hasn't looked good in the last two
games today, no touchdowns, two interceptions. I know the office
of line is banged up some, but are you concerned
about what you've been seeing from wins Well? Um, yeah,
I mean, look, I'm a fan of Carson Wentz. I

(07:38):
think he's a really good player. Uh. He missed a
touchdown throw which would have been a big opportunity for them.
He missed Dallas Goddard wide open in the end zone.
Everybody jumped back, hurts the other tight end. Goddard was
running three and he just missed it. So I think
there's just missed opportunities. Um um. I don't put anything

(07:58):
fast Eagles what they went through last year. I was
on the Eagles to think the last two or three
ball games of the year where they were basically, uh,
you have to win to stay in the playoff hunt,
and they've done it, so they're pretty resilient. They got
Lane Johnson back today. He was a difference maker. Know
they'll be better. I mean it's it's early. I know
that if you start out though, and two, I think
you have a twelve per chance of making the playoffs.

(08:20):
But don't forget man, we have an extra playoff team
this year. Chris Spielman joining us here on Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. Last one for me, is it ever
too much for the Eagles? Do they do they over
complicate things or or is that not an issue in Philly?
Uh No, I just think, you know, I do think
that um On defense, I mean, Jim Schwartz is very

(08:44):
aggressive and they play a ton of man and so
you're vulnerable to a lot of pick routes and rub
routs and do you watch the game that thought the
Rams took advantage of that today. But you know that's
who they are. They are. They are aggressive, that's what
they do. And you know, I think one thing that
Carson had two more interceptions today. I think too. And uh,

(09:05):
you know, you have to put everything, guys, It's not
that hard. I mean, you gotta Here's here's every production meeting,
Here's every coaching meeting I've ever had when I was
a players. Head coach comes in, Okay, the win this sleek,
we gotta run and stop to run, right, That's just
the way it is. And we can't turn the ball over. Well,
they couldn't stop the run and they turn the ball over,
So you're not gonna win. I don't care. It's a

(09:25):
quarterback driven league. It's the passing league. But we go
back to the old formula of don't turn it over
and run and stop to run. And the Rams are
doing exactly that um already this season. So you just
saw that Cowboys come back and beat the Falcons thirty
nine and forty UM. The Washington the Washington football team,

(09:48):
they don't look there, Yeah, exactly, they don't. They don't
look very good right now, and the Giants don't look
very good. Like is this just a the the one
time that their division is going to be wide open
for the Cowboys to win? Yeah? I think so. I mean,
I think it was big for Gallas to come back
and win today and how they won. And you know,

(10:10):
you look at the mc East and it was it
wasn't very good last year. The Eagles one of the
nine and seven, right, I believe, And so I've see
his division to watch out for. It it's really good.
Is the MCY West was San Francisco, Seattle, Arizona is
really good, guys. I mean really good, much improved on
the depresive side of the ball, and the Rams are
just kind of gritty and I don't know if that's

(10:33):
what Sean wants, but that's what he has and they're
very good at being gritty. Chris Spielman watched the Rams
top the Eagles today thirty seven and nineteen. You saw
it on Fox. You can get Chris on Twitter at
Chris Underscore Spielman. Chris, we appreciate the time. We'll talk
to you later on in the season. Thanks so much,
all right, thanks man, have a great day. God bless
you see it. Chris Spielman one of the one of

(10:54):
the the football guys that that I remember growing up
and uh yeah, one of the best there is now.
Our teammate here at Fox. Saw the Rams take it
to the Eagles. The Eagles got back into the game,
but then Carson went through an interception in the end zone.
Really changed momentum as the Eagles could have taken a
lead there and the Rams just ended up running away
with it. And the Rams just seem like more of

(11:15):
more of a complete team to me, where maybe in
the in the Super Bowl run they had so many
great individuals with with Gurley and the playmakers on that team.
And we obviously know how great Aaron Donald is, but
it really seems like it's a team effort when you're
watching the Rams play, and it showed today they're off
to a two and oh start after taking care of
the Eagles. Yet they do a really good job of

(11:37):
kind of spreading the wealth and that there's no one
person that is needed to win the game. It's like
a collective effort. It's it if it were a basketball team,
like nobody would need to score fifty. They they're more
the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics then they are the Lakers,

(11:58):
where you just have Anthony Davis and Lebron James and
they gotta get you know, seventy points again, well, sixty
five points to win a playoff game. No, it's just
more seventeen, seventeen, ten, twelve, you know, and it just
adds up over the course of the game. Very very
good comparison. The Texans are in the end zone to
Shaun Watson a touchdown past the Darren Fells to go

(12:21):
until halftime, Baltimore still up on Houston ten to seven.
Chiefs are driving, but they're being blanked by the Chargers,
and the Chargers are being led by Justin Herbert, the
rookie getting the starting not after Torod Taylor suffered a
chest injury and pregame warm ups. It's the Charger seven
Chiefs nothing with nine minutes to go until halftime. But
again Chiefs are in the red zone and in Arizona

(12:42):
Cardinals with the football up on Washington seventeen nothing under
four minutes to go until halftime. One team was up
by fifteen points with under five minutes to go and
they lost. We'll talk about that next year on Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. Snap corner pattern right side. Kelsey
wanted open touchdown Kansas City. The Chargers fooled ray Shawn Jenkins.

(13:05):
The safety was about five yards away and the Chiefs
cash in to get their first score of the game.
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's a six year NFL VET.
George Rice to get him on Twitter at George Rice Stir.
I'm Dan Buyer. You could find me on Twitter at
Dan Buyer on Fox Chief Radio Network on the call.
The only problem with that for Kansas City the extra

(13:27):
point attempt by Harrison Butker was blocked by the Chargers,
so the Bolts still up seven to six now on
Kansas City. Midway through the second quarter. Ravens are in
Texans territory. Lamar Jackson just hooking up with Marquis Brown
on the third and nine to keep a drive alive.
Baltimore up ten seven with six minutes to go until halftime,
and the Cardinals have added more points against the Washington

(13:49):
football team twenty to nothing Arizona buck forty nine to
go until halftime. The game of the day likely a
Jerry's world, especially if you're a Cowboys fan, Not so
if you're a Falcons fan. Georges or company a lit
from the Getico Fox Sports Radio Studios because the Atlanta
Falcons were up fifteen on the Dallas Cowboys with under

(14:09):
five minutes to go in the game and found a
way to lose. Forty to thirty nine is the final.
Greg'serline was the clutch guy at the end for the
Cowboys forty six for the win, no time outs, good snap,
good home forty six yards, Yes, sir, kiss that peg

(14:35):
the final story Dallas forty at a lot of thirty
nine Cowboys Radio Network on the call, and Yeah, forty
to thirty nine was the final I mentioned George Falcons
were humped. They went up thirty, and we're up fifteen
late in the fourth quarter, but let it go against
Dallas a botched on side kick. I don't know if

(14:57):
it's twenty eight to three bad, but this year's awful
for the Falcons who are now owing too. Isn't this
typical Falcons though? Oh my goodness, yes, I mean, I
I get that Falcons fans don't want to admit it,
but they are to lose the lead kind of kind
of people. It's just like, so you score thirty nine

(15:18):
points and if you look at it even deeper, right,
the Cowboys had I think three turnovers in the first quarter,
so they were down twenty to nothing at at one
point in time. So it like it was one of
those things like when you see a you know, an
early twenty point lead and the teams are fairly even.
You can't just just rest on it because uh Matt

(15:42):
Matt Ryan only threw for two d seventy three yards, Yeah,
two hundred seventy three yards. He did throw for four touchdowns,
but they didn't get the running game going very much,
only three point three yards to carry. Julio Jones finished
the game two for twenty four yards, Like this was
even though Colvin Ridley got going hayden Hurst, but when
you don't get your guy like Julio Jones going, like

(16:04):
you can't turn that faucett back on at the end
of the game, and it was just it was just
an epic disaster and it looked bad for the Cowboys,
but then at the end you see Dak Prescott coming
back to save the day. But they almost messed this
up though, like when when they got the ball down
in field goal territory. They got the ball too, it

(16:26):
was gonna be about a forty seven yard field goal,
and then they didn't throw the ball to get the
ball any closer, which kind of looked like they didn't
trust deck, which I thought, you're gonna settle for a
forty five yard field goal. I know you have Greg's
air line, but jeez, it was an interesting play and
then they ended up having to they chose to spike
the ball after those running place as you mentioned, with

(16:48):
four seconds off because they were out of time outs.
But yeah, they're like when you do have Greg zerline,
I guess maybe his range is about what eighty two yards?
I'm gracious, but but Yeah, to your point, you're like, okay,
what do you do here? Maybe they just felt that
they were they didn't want to mess anything up because
the game was given to them, and there were two
big plays, and you mentioned the Cowboys start. There were

(17:09):
three fumbles, as you said, three turnovers in the first quarter.
Remember they also ran a fake punt that did not
two of them. So there their first four their first
four possessions were fumble, fumble, fake punt not converted, and fumble.
That's what the Cowboys did. So Atlanta gets out to
this twenty to nothing. Leave. But there was also a
play in the game with Julio Jones where he dropped

(17:31):
a touchdown on a trick play on a diruct snap
to Russell Gauge and Julio had a step and it
hit him in his hands, and then there was some
talk about maybe it's a hamstring injured, like all of
these things end up. Yeah, yeah, And you're exactly right
about that. And that's the point of all of this is,
you know, the Falcons were a you know, jekyl and
high team last year. They seemed to be always a

(17:52):
jekyl and high team. Sam's the one year where they
actually went to the Super Bowl and then it appeared
in Super Bowl fifty one, and I just wonder because
I felt to the first half of last year we
were on dan Quinn watch in Atlanta, and now you
go to a game where you lose last week to Seattle,
where you were outscored, and now you lose this game.
I there just seems to be some issues Todd Gurley

(18:14):
is is not the Todd Gurley of old. I think
that we can we could put that one in stone
that there's there's something that's got to happen with Atlanta.
For as great as it wasn't the Cowboys, and the
Cowboys are gonna have some issues, uh that they have
to deal with on on defense. Maybe the one thing
from this game is is what you said of of
Dak Prescott and maybe they didn't just want to mess
things up at the end. But I thought Doc was

(18:35):
pretty much the only thing that the Cowboys could count
on in this contest today because it was a wild,
wacky game in Dallas, and every week's a referendum on DOC.
Now with that franchise tag and when you're the Cowboys
of the quarterback at the quarterback of the Cowboys and
I think that he actually did pass today with flying colors.
I was impressed by Dex's ploy both on the ground
into the air. Yeah, you didn't have a choice but

(18:56):
to be impressed by Dock. Now the question and is
is what can the team do well? I actually, first
thing is number one, you're not even in that position.
If you just stopped turning the ball over, like if
you stopped turning the ball over your five like, you're
in good shape, because you would, you wouldn't have spotted them,
you know, twenty points in the first quarter. So I

(19:20):
have to is hold onto the football and then that's
a game that you can easily win. And the Cowboys
clearly looked like a very very talented football team. Elsewhere
in the state of Texas, the Ravens added a field
goal or up thirteen and seven on the Texans. But
now the Texans have turned the ball over on a fumble.
It was picked up by Baltimore and returned to the

(19:41):
Houston one yard line, so the Ravens up six could
be knocking on the door for a score. Uh, it
looks like it was a completed pass, and then the
Ravens rent it back down to the one yard line.
Chargers are driving against the Chiefs. They're gonna have it
first down and ten at the first and goal at
the ten yard line about with four thirty to go
until halftime here, but Baltimore with the big turnover on

(20:05):
the Texans. The other thing about the the Cowboys, I
I will say this, I am concerned about their defense
is I mean, I know that division seems to be
there's for the taking. Considering what we saw with the
Eagles today. They're now owing to Washington's uh getting beat
up by the Cardinals right now. Giants are owing too.

(20:25):
They made a valiant effort to to knock off the
Bears but didn't happen. But if you're gonna go to
a super Bowl, which is the only goal of of Dallas,
I think that there's there's big time questions now about
that defense and they're not seemingly getting after the passer.
Matt Ryans only sacked once today, which I thought was
gonna be their strong point. If anything's gonna hold Dallas back,

(20:46):
I think it's gonna be their defense. Yeah. But I
wouldn't even freak out too much about that yet. Only
bit because that's the same thing that was said about
the Chiefs last year. Sure, Oh they can't rush to pass,
and their defense is terror and they got it together
before the season was over, and and then their defense
became a strength of the of the team. I think

(21:07):
that that's what's important, is that if you can win
games when you're at your worst, then you give you
a chance because like the chances of you making the playoffs,
getting to the super Bowl and then playing your worst
game are very low because you've gotten that worst game out.
So if if you can win with your worst, then

(21:28):
then that gives the team a lot more confidence as
the season goes on. I would say I think that
there is a difference between the Chiefs offense and the
Cowboys offense on what you can rely on more. That's
it's the That's the one thing. Dallas got into a
game today where Dad could throw for four hundred and
fifty yards. But if they do get into like what
we saw last year in some mustlin situations, specifically in

(21:51):
Philadelphia when they took on the Eagles, that would be
the only the only difference that I would say that
the Chief's offense is ahead of where the Dallas offense is. Yeah,
I mean I would say I don't think anybody would
dispute the fact that um that that that we have
one quarterback that's better than than the other. Even though
that doc is very respected, he's still not a quarterback.

(22:15):
Like he's still not my homes in any way. So yeah,
that's a big difference. He's George Rice to get him
on Twitter at George Rice Stir. I'm at Dan Buyer
on Fox Crazy Happenings today in the National Football League.
We talked about the big injuries. One of the injuries
that we didn't talk about Drew Lock seen in a sling.
The Broncos quarterback had to leave early in their loss

(22:37):
to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Broncos gave quite an effort but
still came up short in that game. But we're not
sure on how long the starting quarterback from Denver will
be out of action. Yeah, the injuries were long. You
had Anthony Barr go out with a shoulder, Davante Adams hamstring,
Sterling Shepherd with a uh with the he he got

(22:58):
injured for the Giants too, a Kwam Barkley. The list
has Nick Bosa. The list is just getting longer and longer,
and I mean we haven't even finished the afternoon games.
Yet no, no, no, we haven't. And a team is
in the end zone and we may have the first
professional touchdown pass for a rookie quarterback. For the latest

(23:20):
of what's going on in the National Football League, let's
go over to the news desk of the one and
only David Gascon to fill us in. What's up, David,
Dan you know Thursday night, even in the loss the
I the way that you looked at Joe Burrow, you
can see like Bengals have something. Chargers, they might have
something to Herbert under center takes the handoff. Only do

(23:42):
is right? Herbert still on his speed, He's got the
mobility touchdown Chargers. Herbert, we'll have led a touchdown drive
and scored a touchdown with his feet in his first
NFL work, and he just threw another pass into the
end zone for a touchdown. Chargers leading the Chiefs fourteen six.
Is all games near the end of the first half.
Justin Herbert nine of fifteen hundred thirty four yards and

(24:05):
a pair of scores on his arm, one with his legs.
Arizona and Washington, it is all the home team in
this one shotdown with one second left. They do run
a play, they snap it to him. Murray keeping it
running to the right east of the five cups to
the left and hits pay dirt. Kyler Murray with a
touchdown run from fourteen yards out Cardinals Radio Network. They

(24:25):
lead Washington twenty three. In that ballgame, Kyler Murray sixteen
to twenty a buck eighty nine, one touchdown on the ground,
four carries forty one yards and also the one score
Baltimore Ravens. Right now at Houston, Jackson under center, back
to the udd for card in front of Edwards. Play action.
Jackson throws goal line caught pat Rick hard touchdown. Ravens.

(24:48):
Ravens Radio Network. They lead right now in Houston twenty seven.
They had a defensive takeaway, a scoop and a score
Lamar Jackson twenty yards through the air, one t d
also twenty eight yards on the ground. The night Captain
New England and Seattle up in the Pacific Northwest. Earlier
today Buccaneers, they get to five. They beat the Panthers
by fort teen. You guys mentioned Pittsburgh beating Denver twenty

(25:10):
six to twenty one. Rams pummeled the Eagles thirty seven
to nineteen Tyler Higbye three touchdown receptions that ballgame where
he mostert. Nick Bosa injured for San Francisco lawa Jimmy
Garoppolo the high ankle spraining. San Francisco does win it
by eighteen thirty one thirteen. Nick Bosa likely to be
out for the season with a torn a c L.
Solomon Thomas the same way as well. Kyle Shanahany's yet

(25:32):
to confirm that Tennessee beat Jacksonville, Indie got revenging beat
in Minnesota to eleven. Jonathan Taylor twenty six, carries a
hundred one yard and then also won score Packers back
to back weeks. They go for forty plus. They beat
the Lions twenty one and the heartbreak Dallas Falcons blow
a monumentous lead they had this ballgame. They outscored Dallas

(25:54):
twenty and nothing in the first quarter and get beat
forty to thirty nine. Dak Prescott thirty four through the air,
a touchdown, a couple of quarterbacks sneaks, and the Giants
get beat by the Bears seventeen thirteen. Lots of things
that you on today. Thank you the gas man, David
Gascon with all the updates. UH this Fox Sports Sunday

(26:18):
Red Zone Radio. I'm George Rice with my may man
Dan Buyer. So much going on around the league. I'm
super excited about that boy from from from the Chargers.
Two touchdowns, one rushing and one passing by Justin Herbert,
and right now I would take him over Dwayne Haskins,

(26:39):
Baker Mayfield and a couple of other quarterbacks who are
starting in the league. Right now. It's been a quarter
and a half and you're ready to uh, you're ready
to take Justin Herbert. I will say this, I do
think that it benefited him that this injury to Tod
Taylor happened in pregame, because you you only don't have

(27:00):
time to be nervous. You just if if he had
to maybe sleep on the start that they said, hey,
you're gonna be our guy. If that was the case,
I think you would have seen a bit of a
different outcome for for the Chargers. See that, I see.
I think that that also. I do believe that you're
right with that. But I think that the other thing

(27:20):
that matters with it is just the fact that that
that means that he's prepared. Because sometimes you have people
who are in a backup role, and they're not preparing
like they are a starter. You know, they're gonna wait
until they become the starter to actually um prepare like one.
And you see that he's coming out ready. And and

(27:43):
the reason why I said that he was better than
Baker Mayfield and Dwayne Haskins already because we've seen a
decent early sample size, albeit very early sample size of
Dwayne Haskins. He looks confused by the defense, does not
look to have great pocket presents and awareness right now.

(28:04):
And Baker's up and down. He's a turnover machine, so like,
and he's too concerned a lot of times with what
people are talking about besides, you know, just just football stuff.
So yeah, so that's the reason why I would take
him over them at this point in time, even after
only a quarter and a half. And there's no bias
whatsoever of his Oregon duckness. What you mean you would

(28:27):
that there's no bias whatsoever? Huh, Oh my god. The
we're gonna get back to that conversation because Deshaun Watson
was just picked off by Marcus Peters. The Ravens did
return that fumble for a touchdown, so they're up twenty
seven on the Texans and now another turnover A a

(28:47):
great play by Peters to pick off Deshaun Watson as
the Texans were driving at midfield. But the Texans just
seemed to be a step off in their game again
this week. A second. Yeah, yeah, let's go at about
the Texans. Like Deshaun Watson feels like that he's not

(29:08):
being able to maximize everything that he has. He was
in a weird situation. So so so the team throws
a boatload of money at you, a hundred million dollars guarantee,
there's no chance you can turn that down, you know
what I mean? Like you, you just you just can't
and butt at the same time, if you're if you're him,

(29:29):
you're looking at Bill O'Brien as your head coach and
GM and he's not done a good job you have.
You took away as number one receiving option. You're trading
him away for a back that they didn't even want
very much. I mean it. And you see what Hopkins
is doing for the Arizona Cardinals right now. He changes

(29:50):
the way their whole offense plays. I just haven't liked
what Bill O'Brien has done. He's bad with clock management.
He's bad with a lot of things. And I think
that this right now is going to hurt Deshaun Watson's career,
and it he doesn't look like he has the same
energy and peppin his step right now that he did
last year or the year before. Well that's also maybe

(30:12):
too why you take that deal. And there was a
great deal that's gonna pay him what thirty nine million
dollars UH a season, But that's maybe why you take
that deal because maybe maybe you have a sense as
well of of all, right, what is what is going
to be the value and and and and in all honesty,
the the value of a quarterback of Deshaun Watson. The
value is only going to go up. But when you

(30:33):
see what he's trying to deal with, and and the
the the shouldering of the load. He was already carrying
a lot of that offense and at least had Hopkins
and will Fuller to bail him out in some essence.
Now with Hopkins gone, you got a bunch of guys,
I mean will Fuller's and in okay, player Brandon you know,
Brandon Cooks is is Brandon Cooks. I mean, there's there's

(30:56):
a reason he's been on four teams, you know where
he's he's good enough to be wanted, but not good
enough to stay. You know, one of those guys where
you know, you see see sometimes guys move around to
the NBA because they're they're good enough to be on teams,
but they're just not good enough to last a while.
And that's what I kind of like. Look at Brandon
Cooks as and there's a lot on Deshaun Watson's shoulders,

(31:17):
and Marcus Peters made a great play and the interception
is ultimately on Deshaun Watson and the one that he
that he threw. But yeah, you almost wonder if how
much of a sense Deshaun Watson had of what was
actually going to be of of value with his squadwin
when he signed that deal, because there's we look at
dax numbers and we can say, all right, look at
what Dax doing, But you know, there there's I picked
Deshaun Watson to win the m v P because I

(31:38):
thought he'd have to be a one man show, and
now I'm just thinking that's too much of a load
to bear for him in Houston. Well, there's only so
much that you can do, you know, when you're when
your defense is not performing and you have to score
and score and score. I mean they they they've had
wide receivers fumble and when you're playing against the Ravens,

(32:00):
do you might as well cancel Christmas if you're gonna
turn the football over, especially in your own territory. And
you know, but if you're Deshaun Watson fantasy owner, you
are probably pretty happy right now. You are hoping that
the Ravens put up another touchdown and then all he's
gotta do is throw the ball all game. Like you
can't hand the ball off and run anymore. He's gonna

(32:21):
have to throw the ball and put up Dak Prescott
numbers for the rest of the day. Seven is to
score at the two minute warning. With the Ravens on
top of the Texans and again UH Baltimore having the football,
They've got a first and ten with the two minute
warning just happening. As for the Chiefs, they're under the
two minute warning with the Chargers getting down to the

(32:43):
uh Patrick Mahomes had they scrambled down to the forty
yard line, but there was a flag on the play.
Chargers up fourteen to six in that one minute eleven
to go until halftime, and they are at the half
in Arizona. It's all Cardinals over the Washington football team
twenty to nothing, and Kyler Murray is making quite the
case for an m v P. A touchdown running. He

(33:04):
had a touchdown pass as well to DeAndre Hopkins. So
the Cardinals well on their way to going to and
Oh to start this NFL season. The Texans did get
after Lamar Jackson. He was able to uh j J.
Watt was able to bring down Jackson, so a sack
at midfield. That's what's happening right now in the National
Football League. He's George rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. This

I'm Dan Buyer. That was Matt money Smith on the
call on the Chargers radio network. They are up on
the Chiefs fourteen to six with twenty six seconds left
to go until halftime. Chargers have the ball though at
their own thirty one yard line and look like they're
trying to add some points in what is Herbert's first
start of the season, and they get it past the midfield.
Joshua Kelly with the dump off from Herbert puts them

(34:51):
near midfield, but just eighteen seconds left to go. Elsewhere
around the NFL, Texans lead the Ravens seven. With the
Ravens lead the Texans, acuse me, twenty to seven, Baltimore
up with ten seconds to go until halftime. In fact,
the Texans are gonna have to spike it if they
want to have a field goal attempt, if the ref
would spot the ball. And now there's going to be
a timing issue. But the Ravens up thirteen and about

(35:14):
to start the second half in Arizona. All Cardinals against
Washington today, twenty to nothing. You put it out on Twitter,
George and George rice Stir. You said, Justin Herbert over
Baker Mayfield and Dwayne Haskins and all of the Duck
fans are coming to your defense, but it seems like
the the Chargers are. There's nothing that Justin Herbert hasn't
been able to handle within these first thirty minutes of

(35:36):
this game. So far, very in control in his first
NFL start. This is why four year starters in in
in college two year starters and usually have a significantly
advantage over one year starters. Like you're seeing a kid
like Dwayne Haskins, one year starter at UH at the
Ohio State. It's not like they don't have that same

(35:59):
exp arians and aren't necessarily able and ready to be
able to play when when seasons start. It's not the
same thing. They just don't have the opportunity to have
the experience that's necessary for when you when when you
come in. They don't have the amount of defenses that

(36:21):
they've seen. They haven't seen the amount of coverages people
are trying trying to trick them. The longer than you
have been a quarterback, the more and especially a successful quarterback,
the more things that you've seen. I do think that
the two teams are in different spots. With the Chargers
are more more set up for victory, especially with that defense,

(36:41):
are set up to win games as opposed to what
Dwayne Haskins had to endure and whatever last year was
with Jake Gruden in his final year and whatever this
first year of Ron Rivera was. But the to your point,
I mean, for for the thirty minutes that we've seen,
there's nothing negative that can be had about Justin Herbert
uh in this performance and if you're just joining us,

(37:04):
if you're just tuning in uh Torod Taylor suffered a
chest injury and pregame warm ups, so Herbert ended up
getting the start, and now the Chargers have that eight
point lead in Kansas City. I'm gonna throw a number
out here, Okay, fifteen point nine. I know it's very exact,
and you're thinking that's maybe the average catch that Amari
Cooper had for the Cowboys today. Not know that it's

(37:26):
not the case. That's not the average victory so far
for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. It's not fifteen point nine.
Fifteen point nine was the quarterback rating of Kirk Cousins
today against the Indianapolis Colts. And and and and and
know that it's not one of the marquee games that
that you have in the National Football League, George, But
it was a Vikings team that last week that we

(37:48):
had questioned their defense after green Bay put forty points
up green Bay another forty spot today against the Lions.
But the inability of the Vikings offense and for Kirk
Cousins to go eleven of twenty six, picked off three times,
and an embarrassing loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Um, I'm
worried if I'm the if I'm the Minnesota Vikings and

(38:09):
that may be an understatement just because of how bad
that team looked today, and when we have all these
quarterback debates, there is no way that you can defend
eleven of twenty six for three picks. No, dude, kirk
Cousins is looking like the guy that everybody said he was,
you know, and and now that he's without Stefon Diggs,

(38:29):
it looks very difficult to get you know, uh, dealing
the football. All the rest of their you know, top
notch playmakers aren't looking quite as as good. And Diggs
is out there thriving out there in Buffalo right now.
So the man Kirk kirk Cousins better get it together well,

(38:52):
and better get it together very very quickly in Minnesota.
You know, it's not necessarily the uh, the the hotbed
of of off some line that was not where we
thought where the Vikings were a great offensive line. But
the Stefan Digg's absence is a big deal. I mean,
Adam Feeling and on one side and Digs on the other,
and and however they would play, gave you a legitimate

(39:14):
threat today. Adam Feeling eight targets and just three receptions,
and you thought that that that's who the report is
with but that also just tells you that there's it's
affected Dalvin Cook's numbers. I mean, I mean, it's a
it's a problem. And when you look at how good
green Bay looked again today, spotted Detroit a little bit early.
But now you see in that division the Vikings oh

(39:36):
and two, green Bay two and oh and and already
up a game. Uh. This could turn into a a
long season for the Minnesota Vikings if things don't turn
around quickly. Because I thought that this was a game
all right. You know, you lose to green Bay last week.
Maybe green Bay's got a bit of your number. But
to put the stinker that they put together today is
just to me inexcusable, just not good. And the digs

(39:59):
point that you may, I think it's spot on. You
get you can't lose a weapon like that. Yeah, But
but the thing is, we've we've seen quarterbacks lose weapons
and the good ones still find a way to get
it done on some level. And he's having trouble with that.
He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. This is Fox

Texans did kick a field goal at the end of
the first half. They're up twenty to ten. Or excuse me,
the Ravens are up twenty of ten. I'll get it straight.
But Baltimore leads in Houston over the Texans, but the
Texans closed the gap within Teda Chargers fourteen chief six.
That's at the half in l A with Justin Herbert
getting the start, and early in the third quarter it's
all Arizona. Kyler Murray continuing his m v P cause touchdown,

(40:44):
running a touchdown pass. Cardinals up twenty to nothing again
early in the third quarter. Get George on Twitter at

but a bunch of big injuries. And that's what Week

(41:06):
two is gonna be known for. Nick Bosa, Jimmy Garoppolo,
Drew lock se Kwon Barkley all suffering injuries today. Barkley's
and boss Uh likely season enders. Just one of the
many topics that we are talking about here on Fox

six year NFL VET. Get him on Twitter at George

(41:27):
rice Stir. I'm at Dan Buyer on Fox. This is
this goes to the point, George, that you and I
have talked about and I know you're a big proponent
of but you know, when you see what the forty
Niners had to deal with it, we feel, you know,
felt that the forty Niners actually had really good depth
at the running back position for all the guys that
they had with Mos Stard and and Tevin Coleman and
then Jeric McKinnon who was coming back from injuries. But

(41:50):
the injury game is something that that you can't you
can't predict. You don't know when it's going to come
up and bite you. And it came up to bite
the San Francisco forty Niners today and and it shows
you of of what to get back to where you
want to be, and that's in the Super Bowl. The
road for the Niners just got tougher today with all
of the injury suffered and their win against the Jets.

(42:11):
It's you gotta win when you're there because you never
know what's gonna happen after that. Yeah, and Deebo Samuel's
out to men and boys dropping like flies, right. I mean,
it is just a tough deal. I mean, this is
the way of pro football and sports in general. I
always say that bad things happen to good people. You

(42:31):
know that you just never know when your time is up.
I mean it can be the most mundane routine look
and play, and it can take you out. It can
end your season. And that's why it's always important. They
always say it sounds cliche, but play every game like
your lass game. Play every game like this is the one.

(42:53):
And you have to do that because if you don't,
you're gonna put yourself in a position where where you're
gonna have regrets after And that's the last thing that
you want to have as a player, is a career
where you're saying, oh, man, I wish we had done
a little bit more. I wish I had pushed the
envelope a little bit. You know, there's a situation going
on in Arizona right now. Cardinals are up on Washington

(43:16):
twenty to nothing with nine thirty nine left to go
in the third quarter. So Arizona has the football. They're
facing a fourth and one at about their um I
don't know, own around thirty yard line, somewhere around there,
George the twenty eight yard line to be exact. This
they they are going forward or they're lining up what

(43:36):
appears to be going for it, maybe trying to draw
Washington off size. Actually they are running a play. They're
running a reverse option to Christian Kirk and it's gonna
end up netting them the first down. But this is
the third time today in a game in the NFL
where I've seen a team go for it on fourth
and shorten their own territory. And remember years ago and
Bill Belichick when they went forward on fourth and two

(43:58):
against the Colts in their own territory to try to
h to keep Peyton Manning off the field, and it
came back to bite them. This is something that is
that is different. Are you a guy that goes for
it on fourth and short in your own territory in
some of these games or how do you view these
decisions in the NFL? Absolutely, I'm I'm that guy, because
you you don't want to give up your a a

(44:24):
valuable possession over a couple of inches and I'm I
am firmly in the camp of playing every down like
it's like it's four down territory. Like I'm playing every
game like it's four down territory. Uh, you know. And
instead of playing it like just to um and instead

(44:45):
of saying, okay, we got three downs to get a
first down and then we have to punt, No, I'm
playing like we have four downs to get a touch.
I mean to to to get a first down. And
if you approach it with that mindset, then yes you will.
You know, if it's an optimal scenario. Oh, if the
scenario is not optimal, then yes you won't. Then you
will punt the football. But in general, you're gonna you're

(45:06):
gonna say, nope, We're just gonna try to do the
right thing for the team right right now now. If
if I'm the Arizona Cardinals and you're up twenty to
nothing on Washington, and then and Washington hasn't really shown
the ability to be dangerous on offense. Today there was
a turnover that they had and still couldn't cash in
for points. My whole point is, why give them any

(45:29):
breeding room? Why why would you like, do you watch
last week against the Eagles. Y. Yeah, yeah, okay exactly.
But that's that's the point that like if if the
Eagles are up seventeen to nothing, this is a twenty
to nothing game. My my point is if you don't
get it there, now you've given Washington great field position

(45:50):
at the twenty eight yard line, it is only a
three score game to take the lead if you make
the extra points. And that's that's where I would if
I'm Arizona, I just pointed away. Make Dwayne Haskins go
seventy yards, make him do what he's got to do.
I didn't think that in that situation, and that's where
I sometimes think maybe we get it too much into

(46:12):
the numbers short of thing there's no reason for there.
You have to be aggressive. It is it. It's like
the idea of Chip Chip Kelly, what was kind of
the innovator of a of the guys who said, don't
give them that that you want to end the game

(46:33):
with the football in your hands, like like you don't.
You don't want to end the game on defense trying
to defend against a hell mary because sometimes that's gonna
go against you, like like somebody's gonna make a heroic
play somebody is gonna um or you know, like the

(46:53):
other team only has thirty seconds to to make it
all the way down the field. Sometimes that does happen.
So if you're a team, you want to finish the
game with the ball in your hands. And that mentality
it doesn't just apply in the fourth quarter. It applies
all games. So instead of just waiting on things to happen,

(47:14):
you want to be the person who initiates those things happening.
It's so easy to second guess when a team makes
it or doesn't make it, and you can look back
to why the Cowboys run a fake punt today? Why
did you do that? Or why the you know, the
Rams were one of the teams that ended up going
forward on fourth and short and they converted. It was
a Jared Golf quarterback sneak. You look back and you
can if they don't get it, you can always be critical.

(47:37):
I just look at the scenarios that that these teams
are in and what is what is the likelihood that
if Arizona play solid football for the rest of the
quarter and a half in this game, that Washington is
going to be able to come back and win. And
I think it's very very slim. And that's why I
wouldn't give them tumble here like like or four thousand one,

(47:57):
stop like they're a a hip ball here and there.
But if you have the momentum, don't give it up.
But but that's isn't the fumble. Isn't like the fumble
or a tip ball the same of saying, like getting
stopped on fourth and one, like that's like to me,
that's that's bringing that into the equation like you may
have a fumble later on in the game, but it

(48:18):
still doesn't give Washington the short field that they could
have had at that time, or the Rams could have
given the Eagles the short field. I I just think
that each situation is obviously different. But I've seen it
three different times today in scenarios where they weren't all
the same. Rams are on the road, and I know
there's no fans in Philadelphia, but maybe you want to
go and steal a win. Like the Cardinals are are

(48:39):
a better football team in Washington. They shouldn't be having
to have to go for it on fourth one. They don't. No, no, no, no,
see see you're see you're looking at it from the
negative that that they shouldn't have to go for it.
They don't have to go for it there. They feel
confident in their offense. It's not a inspiration, it's it's

(49:01):
a we are confident that we can get this, so
we're gonna that we're going to do it. It's not
a desperation. I think that that's where we usually look
at fourth down says Okay, well they gotta go for
it on fourth down here as as opposed to saying
it from the positive side of we know that we
can get this first down, so instead of punning it

(49:24):
away when we know we can get the first down,
we're gonna go get the first down? Which is which?
Which is? I think if you look, if you look
at the mentality behind it, I think that then that
kind of changes how you feel about it. I also
think that every team thinks that they can get fourth
and one. You have to do you have to well, then,

(49:45):
I mean you have to protect yourself from that thinking.
I'm sure every team does all and we can do it.
We can get it, We've got this play, we can
run it. And that's sometimes why you gotta save yourself
from yourself. Yeah, but they're all teams are not created equal.
If if you if you have the um the Baltimore Ravens,
with the way that they play with Lamar Jackson, how

(50:08):
do you feel about fourth and one? No matter where
it is on the field, how do you? Yeah, if
you have the Washington football team fourth and one, how
do you how do you feel about that? Maybe a little,
not as not as positive, not as it significant like
significantly right, Yeah, and the same thing with the uh

(50:30):
but Kansas City Chiefs. But how do you feel about that? Yeah?
I if I'd be more comfortable if I was the Chiefs.
But how many times do you hear coaches say if
we can't get a yard? And that's why I think
that teams they say that, but they know though they
know they can't. No, I'm serious, dude. Coaches. Coaches, No,

(50:50):
they say, if we can't get a yard, but they're
sitting there thinking and and the fans at home, No,
this ain't a good that that they don't have a
good chance of picking it up on fourth down. Whereas
if you have Aaron Rodgers on fourth down, you're looking
at and you're saying, Okay, I don't care where I
am on the field if you go for it with him.

(51:12):
The likelihithood of him overthrowing a wide open guy or
making a bad choice is pretty low. Like he'll be
able to, you know, make a good choice right as
opposed to or Lamar Jackson. Even if the play breaks down,
he can get you that one yard just off of
a hero play. But you don't feel that same way

(51:33):
about Philip Rivers. You don't feel the same way about
Deshaun Why. I'm sorry, uh, um, Dwayne Haskins you, I mean,
I feel more comfortable with Ryan Fitzpatrick on fourth down
than I do with Baker Mayfield or Dwayne Haskins. Well Man,
The Baker Mayfield Dwayne Haskins shade from George Rice stir

(51:54):
today is it is? It is? It is on the
level ten. I will have to say, by the way, Washington,
uh forced a punt after an intentional grounding throw following
the play that we talked about. So Washington has the
ball back, but they trailed the Cardinals twenty to nothing.
Washington is in Arizona territory. Midway through the third quarter,
Baltimore is on top of Houston. Ten Ravens have the

(52:17):
football just outside the Texans twenty yard line, so Baltimore
looking to add some points, and the Chargers forced a
Chiefs punt on Kansas City's first possession of the second half.
Bolts still up on Kansas City fourteen to six early
in the second half of that contest in Los Angeles.
I want to ask you this because it's the onside
kick that was not recovered by the Atlanta Falcons. Were

(52:39):
you ever on hands team during your NFL career when
it came to on side, Yeah, that's what I figured.
You're a tight end, so you would have some of
the best hands on the team. What is the responsibility
because if if those of you that may have missed it.
The Cowboys today scored, got within two and then had
an on side kick where no Falcons jumped on the

(53:00):
ball and the ball ended up going ten yards and
then Dallas was able to recover, which allowed them to
go and have the game winning field goal. What is
your responsibility when you are on the hands team when
it comes downside kicks the to get the ball and
if that's it and if and if you can't get it,
then block somebody. But here's the here, here's the problem

(53:22):
with what happened today. It wasn't just the fact that
that the ball was that that nobody got it, because
you have to look at the reasoning they Dallas Cowboys.
They used a unique, a very unique onside kick. He
laid the ball on the ground and he kicked it sideway,

(53:44):
so it was spinning. And one of the difficult things
about the Hands team is the ball like when they
when they used to be able to kick it into
the ground and then it would pop up super high,
which they then outlawed like or it does the bound
because because it's a football, so it bounces in strange
strange ways, so you don't so you don't know. And

(54:06):
then when it's spinning around the way it was, you
don't want to end. It looked like it may not
even get ten ten yards, So if the ball is
not gonna go teen yards, then you don't want to
touch it. And if it looks like it may go
out of bounds, and you just swap the ball out
of out of bounds. But the way it was spinning,
you weren't sure it was gonna go ten yards. First,
and the second thing is you don't practice picking up

(54:27):
a ball that's spending like like that. So the last
thing that you want to do is touch it before
it goes ten yards and then have them uh, then
have the ball ricochet off you or something. He's George
Rice stir I'm Dan buyer. A quick look around. The
Ravens have added to Justin tucker Field goals, so it's
twenty three to tend Baltimore on top of the Texans

(54:49):
left to go on the third quarter. Three and a
half minutes gone by. In the second half in l A,
Chargers again behind Justin Herbert as the rookie got the
start today in place of the injured to Rod Taylor,
fourteen to six bolts on top of the Chiefs again
three and a half minutes gone by. Washington is driving
their inside there there in the Arizona red zone. But
Cardinals are up twenty to nothing right now with four

(55:12):
fifteen and counting to go in the third quarter, the
the Washington football team in the Arizona Cardinals a battle
of one and oh teams. A penalty on Washington has
them back at the thirteen yard line of Arizona. But
Washington with their first real scoring threat of the afternoon
coming up next do we debate Josh Allen again, and

(55:33):
my goodness, what is wrong? What is wrong? With the
Philadelphia Eagles. We'll talk with Adam Kaplan, our NFL ins
that are next year on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's six year NFL VET.
George Rice Stir, I'm Dan buy are glad to have
you with us. Chargers have put some more points on
the board. Michael Badgeley a field goal. It's seventeen to
six bolts over the Chiefs midway through the third quarter.

(55:56):
Baltimorrow to tend lead on Houston. That also way through
the third well, Arizona now driving against Washington with the
Cardinals up twenty to three, about ninety seconds to go
in the third quarter in that contest? Did you know
that right now Geico is offering an extra fifteen percent
credit car motorcycle in r V policies. That's fifteen percent
on top of white out go would have already saved you.

(56:18):
So what are you waiting for? SA have an extra
pent when you switch. By October seven, bausi gago dot
com to learn more. To recap what's happened so far.
In week two, we bring in our NFL insider, Adam Kaplan,
joins us here on Fox Sports Radio. Hey Adam, how
are you guys good to talk to? Yeah? Wild Dan,
the National Football League, we've got upsets, We've got a

(56:39):
lot of scorn, we've got unfortunately a lot of injuries.
Last week was not too bad, but this week was
a blood lath though, in terms of injuries around the net. Yeah. Yeah,
it's it's been the it's been the theme that that
George and I have hit on throughout because not only
of the number of injuries, but the severity of the injuries.
I guess the two biggest uh Nick Bosa and sake

(57:00):
one Barkley. Um, how how did those teams end up?
You know responding? I look at the Giants and think
of man, you know, there was there was positivity and
what maybe wouldn't be a positive sort of year. We're
hearing a lot of positive stuff about Joe Judge, but
now you've got your second year quarterback without you know,
your franchise running back. How do the Giants respond with
likely without Barkley the rest? You know, Dan, it's interesting.

(57:22):
I was just talking to the the Bears right before I
came on here, and they said that the Giants they
were very surprised. The Giants actually played really good defense.
Their coverage was terriffic. Um. They give up some runs,
but you know overall, Um, the Giants defense, Uh, you
really showed up and that's why they are able to
come back. But I think when you're the Giants, you knew,
you knew this is a this is a turnaround program

(57:42):
for Joe Judge. This they were starting over with Barkley
being the foundation of running back and now they're not
gonna have them. And it's suspected. Listen, when the way
it works is this, and Georgie, you know this as
a player. They the player. If you hurt your knee,
you get a stress test. They test to see if
they're loose ligum. It's called the Lockman test. The Giants
knew immediately was his a c L was impacted. He'll

(58:03):
have the m rid night or tomorrow morning that it'll
confirm it. Most likely that's an a c L. They
they're about ninety percent effective in that Lockman test. That
it's it's going to be correct and if it is, yep,
they know what it is. Right, they know what it is.
I had a team doctor, a NFL team doctor explained
this to me many years ago. Explained me how he
does it how he shakes the knee, how he jerks

(58:24):
it and he goes he knows exactly where it is,
and it's a shame and you feel bad for him.
And they hung in there though again you know, Dan,
you set up well that they hung in there. They
almost they almost pulled us off. It came down to the
the last play. Shouldn't even been that close. And um,
you know, the Bears said to me, like, look there,
they thought their line, their offensive line protected well. They
ran the ball very well. David Montgomery, he suffered that
neck injury that came back. But the thing that I

(58:46):
think really disappointed that the Bears was that they just
against a bad secondary. They could not get anybody free,
was surprising, and and their offensive line, they gave Mitch
Trabisky some protection, the gout just could not get open.
I think they were pretty disappointing that. Um. I have
looked at well, actually I've been on the ground when
they did that Lockman test on you, and then they

(59:08):
the team doctor looks at the trainer and he shakes
his head and you already know it's a burrito, like you, yeah,
you already know. But uh, isn't this one of the
things that the amount of injuries. And I think that
you were the one who told us like a month
and a half or two two months ago about how
much injuries went up in two thousand eleven with the

(59:29):
work stop is and and how big big of a
deal that the uh that the acclamation period has been.
Do you think that that's really impacting the amount of
injuries they were seen in week two? Well, George, she
the league and the NFLP agreed that. You know, it's funny.
The league didn't want the long acclaimission period. They want
a week week and a half, and then it became
two and a half weeks to three weeks. And then

(59:51):
once you came back, you were you couldn't hit on
the first day because what they had was they you
basically had two and a half weeks to walk throughs.
That's all you could. They wanted to make sure that
the players were flexible. They they they went through proper
hydration because they had not been with their teams for
um nearly eight months, because they didn't have an off season.
I mean, I think everything was playing out pretty well,

(01:00:13):
but you're seeing a lot of injuries. And I will
say this, you're also seeing and this is what happened
in now that you bring it up, the the soft
tissue injuries are up and coming coming out a lock
out in eleven, Well, there are a lot of growing
and particularly hamstring injuries. I'm gonna check with the league
this week to get a number if they have an
early ballpark on how much the injuries are up or

(01:00:34):
what particular injuries are up. But it sure seems to
me like it's hamstring. Week one was not very bad though,
um talking to teams, they were fairly happy with the
the level the number of injuries coming out. But you're right,
they're serious ones. But there are a lot of Look,
they're gonna make a week week here, a week two there,
and then yeah, the forty niners. I've never seen anything

(01:00:54):
like this. This is this injury ravage. They had seven
players get hurt today, uh, two probably for the season,
and others are gonna be lost for some weeks. This
is and then you know George Kittle, by the way,
George Kittle, I was told that he was in a
lot of pain. They were getting too friend. They were
going to give him to Friday with his his sprain
knee and he couldn't go. They they're not going to
know until late next week whether he could play at

(01:01:15):
all the following week. Adam Kaplan joining us here at
Fox Sports Radio NFL in Center, found him on Twitter
at Kaplan NFL because I know you follow the Eagles.
The sense that I got today was they were they
were back in it until the Wentz interception. Um, is
you know what is it is? It is that something
just a great play, but it's it was a great play.

(01:01:36):
Let me just say that. But is there something bigger
going on at the quarterback position with the Eagles? Yes? Yes,
let me take the ladder first. Carson Wentz has not
played well. He was better this week than last week.
That throw that the interception, uh in the in the
red zone. He tried to fit it in. He is playing.
What a coach told me. This guy is not with Eagles,
but he's an offensive coach. He said, when quarterbacks are

(01:01:59):
very if did a play hero ball, sometimes they think
they could fit any throw in because they have this
great arm and he's a great athlete and he's got
his big size and big arm. Carson Wentz was playing
hero ball today. He also his mechanics have been lost
when they lost Frank Rock and John D. Philippo for
the Super Bowl win. Mechanics for whence that they've gone

(01:02:21):
down steadily eighteen They weren't bad. He actually played fairly
well because I remember he had that broken back nineteen.
They started to regress and so far the first two
weeks he's not played well as mechanics are off. Uh.
On the show, on our our show, our pregame show,
Inside the Birds, we outline his issues and mechanics he's
spreading his feet too far. Apart, it all happened, by
the way today during the game, he didn't play well. No.

(01:02:43):
I talked to three teams are ready that have finished
games today, and I would say the Eagles were the
team where nobody wants to talk and they are super upset.
I mean, I can't use the attecudes that I want
to use, but um, they're frustrated. I know that fans
were not there, but they if if I'm telling you,
if Cooper Cup did not have that fumble in the
second quarter, I think Eagles would have given up fifty points.

(01:03:05):
That's how bad their defense was today. They got bailed out.
They got bailed out by the Cooper Cup fumble, or
that they clearly would have lost by way more than eighteen.
So how I mean Carson Wentz is their franchise quarterback,
but like, how long? How long is a franchise quarterback
who bailed out of a playoff game and it wasn't

(01:03:28):
there during the Super Bowl? Like how much rope does
he really have? George there? They're behind him? Um. I
sent some frustration internally because the coaching. The Eagles feel
the coaching has been good, but is he taking the coaching.
I'm I never played, so I can't answer that. You
can you play it if you're being taught correctly, and

(01:03:48):
Eagles do believe it. He needs to take the coaching
and do what the coaches are tell him. Doude, don't
do it on your own. Don't try to play hero
ball when they're telling you. When you're watching the tape
with your quarterback, this is what coaches tell me. Tape
is the true serum. You can't fake it. It's right
there in front of you. They're showing you what you're
doing wrong. Don't do it on your own. Do what
the coaches are telling you. And he's not. He clearly

(01:04:10):
is not. I've been called the biggest ones apologist I'm
not gonna apologize for it. It it's it's unacceptable, it's
it's it's you go. We could go through thirty two teams.
They're about ten and twelve quarterbacks who are not playing
well at all, and he's one of them. And the
funny thing is when when once in seventeen, when he
had this, he was playing better than any NFL quarterback.

(01:04:31):
His mechanics were pristine. Something has happened since Ryk and
d Philippa left their their assistance, his mechanics have gone
way down. And this is and it's undefensible. It's on tape,
and I'm told it's true. We're gonna get you caught
up today with the scores and just a little bit
with David Gascon, but I want to do a couple
of just a quick hits, just on a couple of
guys because George and I talked Kirk Cousins. Oh yeah

(01:04:54):
that Dan. I'm gonna show you a text message that
I have someone from another team. Um, I'm gonna actually
if I could send it to you, drive your I
need to get your text your number, Okay, okay, I
need both your phone numbers because this is unsolicited. I was.
I was home watching every game on red Zone that

(01:05:15):
I could, And I was texting coaches that are um
once their games were over, just to get an idea.
And and and this one guy from another team said, man,
what happened to him? What happened to Cousins said, what
do you mean? I said, he didn't play well? He
goes He took the screenshot of his stats. I was like,
oh my god, Wow, that is pretty bad, isn't it.
This is quarterback numbers can be skewed sometimes. His decision

(01:05:38):
making he was off. He was not in the rhythm
today that he was just not in rhythm at all.
They're they're committed to him, folks, when you when you
bring up quarterbacks, they're they're not doing anything that he
has to be the quarterback. There's just their defense is
not played well the first two weeks at all. They
were awful Week one. Remember they redid his deal. They're
stuck with him for two more years. He's just got
to play better. Gary Kubia, by the way, his coaching

(01:05:59):
was a prett good coach. Yet again, coaching is good.
The quarterbacks got to do a better job. What about
Dan Quinn in Atlanta? How do you escape today. I
gotta tell you know, it's funny. I had a feeling
you're gonna ask me this. I thought that if they
would have just not choked and just still won the game. Okay,
they didn't give a dall On side kick. I thought

(01:06:20):
d Q could maybe survived this season because they made
a lot of changes on their their defensive staff or
him Marsdal's run. Their defense. Their defense has been so
bad this season. It's the only question is if this continues.
Is it going to be if there's gonna be a
change at midway? I hope not. He's a good man.
These people have families. I don't like to speculate all
this stuff, but I did. When I was at ESPN,
I had to report on coaches getting fired. I hated it,

(01:06:42):
but it's my job. I know Arthur blank Is stood
behind Dan Quinn for the last three years for the
regression and the GM Tom to Bittrough. They're good people.
But this defense is so bad. They have very few
good defensive players. I mean, how do you defend this?
This is that there's no way and belief they should
have lost that game today. I'm not a Falcon fan.
It's disgusting. It's embarrassing. Yeah, very very bad. UM. Another

(01:07:06):
team that's that's on the rocks I think is um
is the Houston Texas. Like, what is going on with
with with Bill O'Brien because he's the GM, but he's
coach and it's like, it looks bad. This is okay.
This has been my thought and it's happened the first
two weeks and I think it's going to continue. He

(01:07:28):
does not have a go to guide receiver. I know
Brandon Cook is doing well today. When you trade away
Deandrey Hopkins because you don't want to do his redo,
his deal. This is what you get when you give
the head coach personnel control and he brings in a
guy that has no idea Jack Easterby, who was the
preacher for the Patriots, who's now who's now built right
hand man, who oversees everything in their building and oversees

(01:07:49):
the cap. This is what you get. Watson has not
played at a high level. I'm a huge Shawn Watson fan,
a big, a big defender of him. When people say
holds onto the ball too long, it's true, but he's
also a fan tastic quarterback. There are so many problems
with this football. This is another football team. I wish
we had an hour to talk about this stuff because
I got a lot on the Texans. They're not They're not.
I didn't think they would be good. I thought that,

(01:08:10):
you know, I picked the Titans to win the division.
By the way, they almost choked today. This is this
is a weird day, by the way. A lot of
bad football on defense. Did you know that that guy's
a lot of bad defense. Yeah, yeah, very very bad.
Let's just wrap it up with this. Another bad day
for Josh Allen. Fo seventeen yards fortunes. Wait no, wait, no,
we were going to get out. No, no, George, George Shorge.

(01:08:32):
I'm gonna give Dana's doe. Here's the difference between Josh
Allen last week, Dan, which you clearly didn't study hard enough.
I'm sorry to say that he missed too many throws.
Last week. He was on absolute fire. The Bills told me.
The Bills told me this in training camp. His deep
his downfield accuracy really improved. Of course, the same people
I talked to after week when I said, guys, where
was it? Well, now they're gonna shove it in my

(01:08:54):
face because he was unbelievable today with his accuracy down
world and Digs gived eggs. By the way, Stefan Diggs
is the best route runner the nation football gage, now
that Antonio Brown is not playing, Dix is a phenomenal
football player. For Bills fans, you have no idea how
good Diggs is. Now you do this. This guy is unbelievable.
And by the way, he needs a new contract. There's
no guarantee money in it after the season. Uh. And

(01:09:16):
by the way, I'm not the president of the Josh
Allen fan Club. I just had to get my little singer.
That's like a man. See, I take it though. I
had to throw my dick. But no, I tell I'm
good about it now. See some people can't see something. Yeah,
get him on Twitter at Capolin NFL. Here, I'm here
on Fox Sports Radios, NFL in Center. We'll talk to

(01:09:38):
you week three, Adam. Thanks, it's a good guys. Thanks
all right, man, I can't wait to see what that
text messages George could be. You see, give him our
text message, give him our phone number. Oh, we've got
some big plays going on, both good and bad. I
suppose that could be. However, you look at these late games.
Let's get to the news desk, David Gascon giving us

(01:09:59):
the latest. What's happening right now in Week two in
the NFL. What's up, hey, Dan? I know since we're
in different studios right now, Gavin has this niely nicely
blanketed Justin Herbert Jersey over himself, and he was throwing
rose pedals at himself, looking in the mirror like, Justin Herbert,
you were God admiring. And as soon as he says that,

(01:10:22):
or does that, Justin Herbert just throw a pick at
Kansas City's five yard line. He was rolling to his
left on second then and two and as opposed to
running for the first and yeah, as uh as he
does that, it's at the five yard lines. So Kansas
takes over the football and they haven't looked good at all,
and l A is leading this ball game seventeen to nine.

(01:10:44):
Mean while a little bit different of a scene in
the desert shotgun snap to Murray. He steps up and
takes off far side of the twenty got room at
the tan, cuts right to the five, jukes the defender
and scores touchdown. Tyler Murray a twenty two yard run,
his second rushing touchdown of the game. That defender is
in multiple pieces at the five yard line. Has he

(01:11:06):
tried to break down and make that play and Kyler
broke him down? Boomer Sooner given another heisman one Kyler Murray. Uh,
he's been great today, guys, doing this thing for Arizona
twenty three thirty three for two forty five the one
score through the air, six carries sixty five yards and
two more scores. Washington getting beat up by Arizona twenty
seven to three and Baltimore thirteen over the Houston Texans

(01:11:31):
in the afternoon affairs tonight Seattle and the New England Patriots.
Kickoff time is at eight twenty Eastern. Earlier today, Bills
beat the Dolphins. Josh Allen four more touchdown passes four
hundred seventeen yards through the year. Jonathan Taylor, a rookie
from Wisconsin, carries for a hundred one yards and also
a TD. Colts beat the Vikings by seventeen points. Packers

(01:11:52):
go back to back week scored more than forty. They
beat the Lions, this time twenty one and as you
guys mentioned, Dallas coming back and drum mattic fashion to
beat the Atlanta falcons forty to thirty nine. Back to
you guys in just ten seconds, with first a word
from Mako. Mako is ready to fix those debts. Prepare
that collision damage. Spray on a fresh code of paint

(01:12:12):
with online estimates, contactless service, and our best price guarantee.
Come to Mako and roll out refreshed. Go to Mako
dot com to get started and to find a shop
near you. Mako guys, quick question as I send it back,
who gets fired first? Bill O'Brien or Dan quinn. Yeah,
Bill O'Brien's is on boss, so he's not going anywhere. Yeah,

(01:12:34):
that's tough to get he he has this rope for
some reason, and it's like, what is he done to
deserve this? I mean, it's almost like he's looked at
like a good coach. And yes, he's made the playoff.
The NFC South of the a FC South has been down,
especially without um without the quarterback from indian from in

(01:12:58):
Indianapolis Luck. Yeah, with without Andrew Luck, so it's been
easy to win the division. So so yeah, so I mean,
and then when he gets into playoffs, they get out coached,
they get boat raced. I don't know what to I
don't know what to make of it. I mean, and
then you give him personnel decisions and he feels like

(01:13:20):
he's doing Chip Kelly type type stuff. When Chip Kelly
was in Philadelphia. Yeah, it seems to be, uh, the
the organization there there, and there was a lot going on,
you know, when Rick Smith was there. And I know that,
uh that Rick Smith had a personal matters. I think
his wife was ill if if I remember, um, he

(01:13:40):
had to take a leave from the team. You had
then Bob McNair the owner passing away, so cal McNair
ended up taking over. But it's all of these things
end up happening, and all of a sudden, then Bill
O'Brien finds himself in a in a power spot, and
now he finds himself down likely three scores because mark
Ingram just ran one end from thirty yards out, so
Baltimore's all up to thirteen with the extra point coming up.

(01:14:02):
But there's those you know, there's seemed like being a
bunch of moves, and all of a sudden, Bill O'Brien's
not only the head coach, he's the general manager. He's
making trades, he's trading away draft picks, he's signing Laramie Tunsil,
two deals that you know, left tackles can only dream of.
Not that Tounsil doesn't deserve it, but yeah, there just
seems to be when you're the GM, you know of
a team you have to cut, you have to be

(01:14:23):
the general manager, and the general manager and coach need
to work hand in hand. I just don't think they
could be the same person. And I think that's where
and that's on anything groundbreaking, George that I'm saying. But
it's funny on how Bill O'Brien Allvison finds himself in
this position, and I think it's a bunch of those events. Yeah,
people sometimes can have too many jobs, you know, it's

(01:14:45):
difficult to It's almost like when Doc Rivers became the
I know, keep using basketball analysts fit is when he
was the the GM for the Clippers and handed the
personnel moves. Yeah, there's a difference in trying to put
in game plans the CEO of the team, construct travel

(01:15:05):
game plans and all of that. But then you're also
asked to then be checking out free agents to decide
how much of players get to get paid. It's just
not for everybody like there's a select number of people
named Bill Belichick's pretty much it I mean, and yeah,

(01:15:26):
that's no, you're you're exactly right. And and and remember
that the the Texans, uh, you know, tried to go
to New England to hire a GM and then that
that didn't work. And there's there's just you know, Nickossario
was a guy that was gonna maybe go over to
Houston and then he ends up staying with Doingle. But yeah,
you're right. Even Mike Holmgren when he uh left Green

(01:15:47):
Bay to go to Seattle, Seattle didn't end up making
a Super Bowl until Home Grin relinquished those general manage
Jing duties. You can go and you know a lot
of different spots, and you're right. In the NBA, those
sort of things happen, and you do need you do
need that sort of separation, alright, Get you updated. Chargers
up on the Chiefs seventeen to nine at the start

(01:16:08):
of the fourth quarter. The Charges may have just intercepted
Patrick Mahomes, but it looks like it looks like the
bolts were off side, so it was a free play
for Mahomes. Washington is in the end zone. They have
got a touchdown Terry McLaurin a ten yard touchdown reception
from Dwayne Haskins. Twenty seven to nine. Is the score
twelve twenty to go in that one, and I mentioned

(01:16:30):
mark Ingram with a touchdown run thirty of the thirteen.
Baltimore leads Houston with twelve minutes to go in the game.

fifteen ten five touchdown Ravens Ravens Radio Network on that call,
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George rice Stir, the
six year NFL VET. I'm Dan Buyer, the Ravens taking

(01:17:35):
it to Houston at thirty to sixteen. Now Texans just
added a field goal. That's that's so Texansen to go
in the game. You have to kick the field goal
because you want to get it within two scores. George, like,
I understand that, but you also then think is Houston
really gonna rally from this seventeen point deficit. There's just

(01:17:56):
this feeling where it's just like, yeah, that's about right
with the Texans. So the field goal puts them within fourteen.
We have a touchdown on the board, likely in Los Angeles,
the Chiefs getting one, Patrick Mahomes hitting Tyreek Hill. What
a throw by Patrick Mahomes to get it to yeah,
fifty four yards on the play, So the uh, the

(01:18:21):
Chiefs are now going for two. After they reviewed the
play and the conversion for Kansas City is good. Uh,
Nicol Hardman caught the conversion, so we have a tie
game in l A. And for those of you just
joining us, justin Herbert getting his first career start through
an interception. Uh that Kansas City then ended up turning

(01:18:42):
into points on this touchdown drive. But fifty four yards
Mahomes rolls out hits Tyreek Hill and now we've got
a ball game in l A. And the ball game
is almost over in Arizona Cardinals leading the Washington football
team twenty seven to nine with nine to go in
the fourth quarter. But what a throw by Mahomes to
Tyree Hill to then ending up get them to even
on the two point conversion. Yeah, that was a That

(01:19:04):
was a heck of a play, dude. That was absolutely fantastic.
And that's the difference between, you know, an elite quarterback
and just a guy, you know what I mean. Like,
like you knew as much as Patrick Mahomes were struggling
when they were only down eight points, that that that
would that that eight points wasn't gonna survive an entire quarter.

(01:19:27):
That you knew that they needed a couple of touchdowns
or at least a touchdown in a field goal on
top of their eight point lead to be able to win.
And so now this is a big deal for Justin Herbert.
He's got to be able to he's got to be
able to make a play. And this is let's put
let's be honest, Herbert's looked pretty good up until that interception.

(01:19:49):
They were facing a second and two from the thirty nine,
likely could have ran for the first down, but instead
tried to throw one downfield the Keenan Allen and it
ends up being in accepted. And even though you're thinking,
oh geez, it's deep in the territory, you're facing Patrick
Mahomes in the Kansas City Chiefs, and they take that
and they turn that into points like that's that's an

(01:20:10):
NFL lesson that Justin Herbert just learned the hard way.
And and and if the Chargers are gonna win this game,
which they still have an opportunity to George, they were
gonna have to play a darn near perfect game. Anyway.
That was a blemish. But that is a big blemish.
And why the reason is or why this game is tied,
and uh, it's I know, it's a learning process. And

(01:20:32):
and Justin Herbert's gonna learn, but you know what, a
play like that, you can't make that throat and you
just gotta take what what comes to you. And I
think that he did up until that point in this game.
And now it may cost the Bolts. Well, I mean,
there's still twelve minutes to go in the games, so
there was a lot of plays that we're still gonna
need it to be made. But yeah, you don't. You
don't want to senseless turnover when you could have just

(01:20:55):
easily run for a first down. That's one of those
mistakes the young players make. But it was in It
was one of those where you know where you have
to realize what the speed of the NFL really is
and when you and until you understand it and not
only just respect it, but know what it is, you're
gonna have those type of place even though there's no

(01:21:18):
fans that did feel momentum shift in that game. And
now the Chargers have the ball at their own twenty
facing a second and three, He's George faced rom Dan Buyer.
They're tied up at seventeen. There, Ravens up on the
Texans by fourteen midway through the fourth and the Cardinals
trying to put away Washington up twenty seven to Niners.
Where company alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Coming up next a rematch of a Super Bowl gone by.

(01:21:39):
We'll talk about it next year on Fox. Chargers and
Chiefs going down to the wire. George is the six
year on NFL vat But I'm gonna make you an
offense ave coordinator right now, George, Third down and eight,
just over six minutes to go. You've got your rookie
quarterback making his first ever start with the ball at
the thirty yard line. What do you do if you're
the Chargers here? But the all in that man's hands.

(01:22:01):
Let him beat that guy and Justin Herbert and the
Chargers are gonna have to settle for a field goal.
But the wait, there is a flag on the play.
I I don't want to speak too soon. He was
looking for Mike Williams over the middle but just missed him.
And now we have a roughing the passer penalty against
Kansas City. That's going to keep this drive alive for

(01:22:24):
the Bolts. Keep your hands off the merchandise if you're
just joining us. Justin Herbert making his first career start
after Trod Taylor was injured in pregame warm up, So
Justin Herbert comes in and it's thrown for three hundred
and four yards, a touchdown pass and a touchdown running.
His only mistake was an interception that the Chiefs ended
up turning into a ninety five yards scoring drive that

(01:22:47):
ended with the Patrick Mahomes touchdown past the Tyree Hill.
But now the Bolts have it first down in ten
at the Kansas City sixteen yard line. Just aside from
that throw, it has been a spectacle killer debut for
Justin Herbert today in the Bolts. Yeah, what else you
thought it was gonna be? I did not think it
was gonna be three and four yards, honestly, And I said, actually,

(01:23:09):
the the first thing is you didn't even think he
was making his debut today. Nobody thought he was making
his debut today. It was Tyrod Taylor getting injured that uh,
that's was the reason why he ended up. Tyrod Taylor
warming up, he thinks he's starting, and then all of
a sudden he has a chest injury as they called it,

(01:23:30):
right before the game started. And then there was like,
oh yeah, Justin Herbert started. Everybody's like what and and
Justin Herbert is doing things with his legs as he
just scrambled on an option play, ended up keeping it
and now it's gonna be first in goal for the
Chargers inside the ten yard line. It's the this is
a dynamic that that he brings that that you know,

(01:23:52):
Tarrod Taylor maybe did once in his career, but not
so much anymore. And I had wondered after seeing what
the Bengals did against the Browns on on Thursday night, George,
I had wondered. I had worried about this Chargers offense
because they only put up sixteen last week and they
escaped with that victory against Cincinnati. But Herbert being injected
into this starting lineup seems to have really injected the

(01:24:15):
Chargers and they only have seven teen points today. But
this is against the Super Bowl champions, not the team
that picked first in April's draft, So completely different stories.
Just a lot more juice with the Chargers in their
home opener, and so far, Yeah, it's a it's a
energy around them because they're definitely excited about their young
ricky quarterback. That it's not like, you know, like they're like, oh,

(01:24:38):
we don't know what we're getting with with this guy.
Know the team has seen him practice and they are
confident in what he can give them. The other games
going on right now, Ravens trying to run out the
clock under five minutes to go there in Houston territory
and uh Gus Edwards maybe running for more inside now
the twenty yard line, and then the other game. Washington
has scored again, but the Cardinals a lead to fifteen,

(01:25:02):
four fifty five to go a is the Cardinals have
the ball at their own forty five yard line and
looking for more now into Washington territory, but the Chargers
facing a third and goal three thirty five to go
and counting twelve runs, three passes and eighty four yard
drive for the Chargers that has taken up more than
nine minutes. Great job by Pep Hamilton's who run who's

(01:25:24):
the quarterbacks coach of the Chargers and Shane Styke in
the offensive coordinator. Now a third and goal from the
four yard line, you've got big targets. That's what they're
there for. A bit of a busted play for Justin Herbert,
who ends up scrambling but then is sacked behind the
line of scrimmage. One of those where you fake to
the wrong side, George, and you know that the play

(01:25:44):
is uh broken from there. It is there, so we're
gonna have to settle for a field goal, which gives
the Chargers some life or gives the Chiefs some life.
Went the wrong way? Oh that Austine the Yeah, yeah,
the the running back went the wrong way because the

(01:26:04):
uh you had Keenan Allen going towards the corner, you
had the tight end going in the flat, and Austin
Ekeler went the wrong way, so everybody else was going
the correct direction. Yeah. Yeah, It's very clear who messed
up on that play. So it was not the rickie quarterback,
you know, the Torodd Taylor was brought in in um

(01:26:25):
Cleveland to be the guy until Baker Mayfield took over,
and that lasted until week three, and now he comes
to Los Angeles. I there's nothing you could do with
the injury there. But now you're in the spot, George,
where you aren't turning back Like this is when when

(01:26:45):
you looked at the starting quarterbacks that were rookies in
the National Football League, you knew Joe Burrow was gonna
start Week one, and you know that Jordan's love, may
not see the field, may not suit up this season,
Like you knew that with Green Bay. Then he had
justin Herberton too, who were taking five and six to
a going five and Herbert going six. And there's questions
about the start of this season with to his health.

(01:27:06):
But you also had a Dolphins team taking on the
Patriots last week and they took on the Bills today.
With Herbert's situation, wasn't that the schedule was daunting. You
just kind of felt that the Chargers were willing to
kind of wait and see this thing out. And now
all of a sudden, your timeline has been completely fast forwarded.
And I I mean, I guess kudos all the way around.

(01:27:27):
Credit is deserved by everyone considering how good that Herbert
has looked today. But he gives them a different dimension
to when he's under center, something that I don't know
how many other people outside of maybe yourself and a
few others with the Chargers maybe could have foreseen. Well.
I mean, I had seen the kid play a lot
in college, so I was very confident in his armed talent.

(01:27:49):
You know, I actually liked the fact that their plan
was to bring him along slow, and you know, and
kind of see how things go and then play him
if you need to play him. If not, then then
they don't worry about it. Like I was all in
on that plan, but now that that plan has gotten
all busted up, you don't have a choice, you know,
And now you can't go back to being that he's
played so so well. I mean, like, how does that

(01:28:13):
work if you pull him out of the lineup? But
then uh, and then go out there and lose a game,
Like that's not gonna work and ty and Tyrod is
not the guy that's gonna put up huge numbers that
are gonna say, well, you know, he should still be
out there. He's just kind of more. He's got that.
I want to say Alex Smith, but I'm bigger. I'm

(01:28:36):
a big fan of Alex Smith, and Alex Smith completely
underrated and he actually puts up some pretty good numbers.
So I don't want to discredit what Alex Smith does.
I think I think too. And when you look at
these situations with two in Miami, Ryan Fitzpatrick gives you
something like he does say and so you can't necessarily
it's hard to take him out right now, right, Yeah,

(01:28:58):
there's no reason to take uh, Ryan Fitzpatrick out, when
your team, which is not a good team, is competitive
in every game like they like they were competitive in
Week one, they were competitive this week. They're just a
few players away from clearly being a playoff team and
a contender. Really because Brian Flora is their their second

(01:29:21):
year head coach, is showing he's got the chops. Now.
In the Arizona game, they're approaching the two minute warning.
Uh Cardinals have been basically just heading the ball off
to Kenyan Drake over these last twenty yards or soho
and letting them run the clock down. So that's gonna
be the two minute warning. Twenty seven to fifteen. Arizona
leads in that one. As for what's happening in Houston,

(01:29:41):
Ravens still have the ball thirty to sixteen, four thirty
one left to go. They're facing a third and goal.
But we are focused on the game, the only game
that seems to be still in the balance. That's the
Chargers in Chiefs twenty to seventeen. There's gonna be two
twenty seven left on the clock to twenty left on
the clock, to be exact. For Patrick Mahomes, who has
two hundred and fifteen yards in the air and twenty

(01:30:03):
five yards on the ground today and two touchdown passes
Kansas City as all their time outs as they start
from the twenty five yard line. What a way to
open so far if you're if you're the Chargers. It
was opened last week with a win with the Rams
on Sunday at Football against the Cowboys. But this gives uh,
you know, the the Chiefs have had the Chargers number,
winning twelve of the last thirteen I believe it is.

(01:30:26):
And if eleven of twelve, that was Gavin our executive producer,
the Chargers fan quick to correct me on that one
eleven of twelve, of of of that number. But I mean,
I don't know if it's a moral victory, even if
the Chargers, you know, don't come away with the victory.
But I don't know how you can't be happy no
matter whatever the outcome is today if you're a Chargers fan.

(01:30:48):
I mean, I think we all expect Patrick Mahomes to
be Patrick Mahomes in this game, to be tied or
you know, uh go to overtime or a Kansas City
Chiefs win. But I I just I have a tough
time thinking if you're a charge just fair that you'd
be disappointed with the outcome today. And the Chiefs are
in Chargers territory at a completion from Patrick Mahomes to
Tyreek Hill. How do you stop Patrick Mahomes? George? What

(01:31:09):
do you do if you're the Chargers of this situation?
What do you mean do you you? Uh? You d
up and try to get as much pressure on it
and hopefully he overthrows a pass and and and maybe
he gets a holding penalty or something like. That's I mean,
that is the you know, the extent of you either

(01:31:31):
preventing them from getting a game tying field goal or
winning this football game. I mean, look at if Aaron
Rodgers was in this situation two minutes and some odd
on his own twenty five with timeouts left, down three points,
is there anything but like it seems like a foregone

(01:31:53):
conclusion that that that that they're at least gonna get
a field goal, right, the same thing with Pat but
there's a very but it seems like very likely that
they'll win the game too, but at the very least
they'll get a field goal. And same thing with Patrick
my home, same thing with I mean formerly Tom Brady,

(01:32:13):
do you I mean there are some quarterbacks now I
mean Drew Drew Brees, same thing, especially if they're playing indoors,
Lamar Jacks and Kyler Murray, like you feel like they're
at least gonna get you down there to get that
field goal opportunity. So a two minute warning, this is
what we're gonna do. We're gonna take our own time out.
He's George Rice, stir, I'm Dan Buyer. This is Fox

(01:32:33):
Sports Red Zone Radio Company, a lot from the Getico
Fox Sports Radio studios. Fifteen minutes could save you or
more on a co insurance Physico dot com for a
free rate quote. We'll bring in the end of this
Bolts Chiefs contest next year on Fox Sports Radio. Under
a minute to go and Patrick Mahomes has just scrambled
for a first down on a third and twenty with
under a minute to go. Welcome back in. It is

(01:32:55):
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. That's the voice of George
Rice to the city, to your NFL vent I'm Dan Buyer.
In a third and twenty from the Chargers forty five
yard line, Mahomes uses his legs to pick up the
yardage and now Kansas City, with two timeouts, has an
opportunity there in field goal range. So you have to
think that a tie is already there for him, but

(01:33:17):
now an opportunity to go ahead is the Chargers lead
Kansas City seventeen. What did I tell you do? This
is something about this man that just gives you an
opportunity to I mean, he just shows up in your
way better, you know, I mean like that that you

(01:33:37):
that there was no way even at third and twenty
after that holding penalty, where you where you thinking, uh,
they won't at least get a game time show goal opportunity.
And he found a way to pull a magic trick
out of his bag. He's eight for twelve hundred and
thirty four yards and a touchdown just this quarter alone.
Well he had a better day than then then Kirk

(01:34:01):
Cousins and uh better or in Sam Donald than a
whole bunch of other quarter in bags and and um
and went in one quarter. Well, well let's let's get this.
It's now a second down as Mahomes hit uh Clyde
Edwards Hillaire out of the backfield for a game of eight.
So it's second and getting seven second and three at
the seventeen yard line. Kansas City has two time outs left,

(01:34:24):
but there's just twenty seconds left on the clock, and
Mahomes now scrambles for a first down and gets out
of bounds, but there's a flag on the play, going
back to the third and twenty call, which was third
and twenty because of a holding penalty, and now there's
a holding penalty against Kansas City that's going to back
them up. That was the question that I had, was
it was George in a situation like that, when you're

(01:34:44):
the Chargers it's third and twenty. I would say with
every other quarterback in the National Football League, you're like,
all right, well we'll let him get thirteen yards and
then try to kick the field goal. But for some reason,
you know, with Patrick Mahomes you can't do that. But
the last place that I would expect him to excel
is with his legs on a play like that, And

(01:35:06):
a man coverage seemed to get the Chargers that time,
and and and Patrick mahomes legs were the ones that
we're doing the damage. Yeah, they they tried to go
a two man. It looked like where that they kept
the safety is deep and the people are covering people
man to man, which means their backs are turned and
he just and when when that's the case, you know

(01:35:28):
you the wide received. Well, the court quarterback is the
guy who's unaccounted for. And it's third and twenties, so
you're thinking, okay, somebody will be at least close enough
to him. But I think sometimes Patrick Mahomes, it's forgotten
how good of an athlete that this dude is. Like
he's a fantastic athlete, not even a good athlete, but
a fantastic athlete. So he can do things with his

(01:35:52):
legs that maybe get overshadow because his arm is so live.
So ten seconds left is Mahomes just hit to Marcus
Robinson for a uh six yard reception that gives them
the first down. So it's first in ten Kansas City
does have one time out, there's ten seconds left to go.

(01:36:12):
It's it's gonna be it's first down at the Chargers
thirteen yard line. And I mean, I mean, if they
don't get it here, you kicked the field goal and
you go to overtime. But this is this is all
in Justin Herbert's debut. By the way, for for those
of you that are just joining US Kansas City in
the red zone with just they have the one time

(01:36:34):
out left, but the Chargers have a twenty seventeen lead
on Kansas City and Mahomes has got to make sure
he gets rid of the ball, but he actually is
scrambled and is pushed out of bounds chased by Joey Bosa,
leaving three seconds left on the clock. It almost looked
like maybe time was going to run out in Kansas City,
But Harrison Butker is not gonna come on the field

(01:36:55):
for a game tying attempt at a field goal. Is
there anyway Shank that would be good? I need I
need Herbie to get a win. But but even more
than that, like I just need Patrick Mahomes not to
throw a touchdown? Is this another George rice Stir fantasy scenario?
Is that so the so the a score in my

(01:37:18):
game now is one fifty two point oh four eight
point forty four and all all his players are done
after Patrick Mahomes. George, You're my You're my friend, and
even I don't care about your fantasy team. I'm just
saying I know. Look, I'm I'm down. I'm down six

(01:37:39):
points and I have Cam Newton playing. So I just
don't want to. I just don't want to make make
it close. Dude, I don't like sweating out games. Well,
but chrisfield goal is good from thirty yards out. So
we are likely headed to overtime. So your fantasy fate
is resting on the flip of a coin. Very likely

(01:38:00):
we are heading into overtime if the if, if the
Chiefs get the ball, I think we all know what
we're expecting. But if the Chargers get the ball, that's
why I want to see. Here's here's the optimal scenario, right,
is the Chargers get the football and either score or
don't score, it doesn't matter, right, and then the Chiefs

(01:38:22):
don't have to be very aggressive and can kick a
field goal to a win either. Just don't let the
Chiefs get the ball first, okay that because then they're
gonna go trying to score, because then you could have
the Chargers win it with a touchdown and uh then
you could have Homes never get the ball back. Yeah,
that could be the scenario. We will let you know
at the most anticipated, by the way, the first ever

(01:38:45):
overtime game in SOFI Stadium. I need you to care.
I need you to care. No, I do care. I
just don't think people care about my fantasy team that
that's that's the only thing. Oh guess who got the ball?
Just In Herbert and the Chargers. What I'm talking about,
See this is good, clean, living man. So Justin Herbert

(01:39:10):
against Patrick Mahomes and this showdown where at the start
of the day we thought it was gonna be Torond
Taylor against Patrick Mahomes. But what did they bu And again,
I'll just I'll go back. I'll just go back to
the point earlier. And I know that people say there's
no such thing as moral victories, but Charger fans were
not expecting to see Justin Herbert this early, and Charger fans,

(01:39:32):
I do feel, have dealt with the worst law. I
know forty Niner fans today don't want to hear it.
But when it comes to injuries like like the Chargers have,
you know to start the season. You know, multiple scenes
and and even Melvin Gordon's hold out last year. I mean,
we know about Durwin James. I mean there's it's just

(01:39:52):
over and over over again for them to actually have
some positivity to start this season and now to have
their young quarterback. To me, I'd say, no matter the
outcome of Kansas City wins this game in overtime. They
win it out in overtime. But if you're a Chargers fan,
you have to be feeling pretty good about yourself no
matter what the final outcome of today is, because Herbert's

(01:40:14):
been been great aside from the one throw, and and
even as bad as that throw was, George, it's and
it could have allowed them to to separate themselves and
have a two score lead on Kansas City. And now
we look at it and say, oh, what could have been?
They did get the ball at their own five yard line,
so you know, like they had to go ninety five yards,

(01:40:35):
so it's not like Herbert set them up knocking on
the door to only go eighteen yards for a score
like that. That wasn't necessarily the case. So the kick
is out of the end zone. The uh, the overtime
period has begun, and the Chargers will end up getting
the ball first intent at the twenty five yard line.
I hate the ten minute overtime rule. I just think
it's so it's it. That's why we've had ties over

(01:40:58):
the last couple of years is because of this ten minutes.
Gross ties are gross, just absolutely gross. So if you're
just joining us Cardinals ended up winning over Washington, and
the Ravens handled the Texans with these But we're in
overtime between the Chiefs and Chargers in Los Angeles where
a company alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios.

(01:41:20):
The night cap tonight Patriots and Seahawks in a in
in an empty century link. You will not see in
here the twelves tonight because no fans being allowed. But
are you excited to get your first look at Cam
Newton in prime time as a member of the New
England Patriots tonight? Yes, he's on my fantasy team, man,

(01:41:44):
that's no, no, no, but but but on a serious note, Um,
I'm more interested to see if he can put together
back to back quality performances. And also I want to
see less running because that's how he got hurt so
much like he had more carried I think yesterday than
he had had in his whole career and well last

(01:42:05):
last weekend. I'm just saying, like, how is this supposed
to work for an entire season when Cam's body getting
beat up is the reason why he had to miss
all the last season to begin with. I you know,
I just I look at that and how the Patriots
look at it and just look at it as hey,
one year, we're gonna get him, you know, if if
we can do it this year and give them Okay,

(01:42:26):
maybe not fifteen times, but you can't just have him
sit back and throw by the way a third and
seven for the Chargers past to Michael Williams. Yeah, they
only got six yards on the place. So it's gonna
be a fourth and one, all right, So now you're
for this. That's brings us back maybe full circle for
a conversation. Three times today I counted in scenarios where

(01:42:49):
teams went for it in their own territory fourth and
one and Anthony Lynn has chosen to punt the football
to Kansas City. So now the Chiefs will only need
a field goal to win this game. You know, in
this situation, realistically, if the Chargers don't get it, they

(01:43:11):
would the Chiefs could attempt the game winning field goal
and the game would be over from that spot. Instead,
they punted away and uh, the Chiefs end up getting
a return to about the twenty one yard line, pinned
up Hardman back, but he got about a return of sixteen.
So now Mahomes will take over first and tent at
the twenty one, but they only need they only need

(01:43:32):
three and the fourth quarter. You talked about Patrick Mahomes
through for a hundred and fifty five yards and a touchdown,
and now he can add to that here in this
overtime session. But I agree with you. I think that
the it was it was. But I actually agree with
you that in that scenario where if you're the Chargers,

(01:43:52):
you you just you you got a break by winning
the coin toss, that's a situation where I think you
go for it, especially too when your quarterback is Justin Herbert,
who's what six five six six, I mean in a
situation like that on a on a on a you know,
a fourth and one we saw earlier in the game
he took an option pitch and was able to get

(01:44:13):
a key first down. I I don't know, I just
don't know how much the Chargers had to lose in
that scenario. I think, like I know that they could
have lost the game. But there there's a decent chance
that they could lose the game right here. And so
I actually will side with you on this one where
I think they should have gone for it on fourth

(01:44:33):
and one. See, but it's different scenarios in your hands.
It's different scenarios though, were because I don't think that
the just only do it in the in the end
of the game. You you have to be you have
your your team has to know like I want my
team to every time there's a fourth down, fourth and one,

(01:44:54):
fourth and two, no matter where it is on the field,
I don't want them just jogging off the field. I
want them looking like, yo, are we going for the Well,
let's say the Chiefs ended up getting a first down
on a pass from Patrick Mahomes to DeMarcus Robinson. So
now it's gonna be the first down. Actually it's gonna yeah,

(01:45:14):
first down in ten from the thirty four yard line.
Chiefs only need a field goal, uh to win this game,
as the Chargers had to punt on the first possession.
Let's go to the news desk and we'll we'll wrap
this baby up as well as there's sixty five and counting.
David Gascon is here to give us the latest of
what else is happening in Week two in the National
Football League. What's up, Dave, Hey, guys, as you say,

(01:45:36):
with overtime right now underway, Patrick Mahomes nine and two scores.
Y'alls has four carries forty seven yards this game and
overtime it's twenty with the l A Chargers earlier today,
Arizona had no problems at all with Washington. Shotgown snapped
to Murray, steps up and takes off far side of
the twenty got room at the tan, cuts right to

(01:45:57):
the five, jukes the defender and scores touchdown Tyler Murray
a twenty two yard run, his second rushing touchdown of
the game. That defender is in multiple pieces at the
five yard line. Is he tried to break down and
make that play and Kyler broke him down. Yeah, he
had a monster day. Kyler Murray three total touches in

(01:46:18):
the ball game. Arizonas two and oh this season. They
beat Washington thirty to fifteen. Buccaneers one seventeen over the
Carolina Panthers. Christian McCaffrey was banged up in this affair.
Leonard four Nette had twelve carries for a hundred and
three yards and also too TDS. Denver got beat at Pittsburgh.
Drew Lock was injured did not return to the ball
game with an injured shoulder. Carlton Senator also not to

(01:46:38):
the ball game stealers to an other season, Big Ben
three hund eleven yards passing and two scores of his own.
One was the final Rams perfect on the Young Year
thirty seven nineteen at Philadelphia, Jared Coff two hundred and
sixties seven yards passing, three tds, all of them go
to his tight tight end Tyler Higbee with the three
touchdown receptions right he Mostert got banged up. Jimmy Garoppolo

(01:47:01):
injured along with Nick Bos who could be done for
the season. Of the torn A c L San Francisco
wins at the Jets thirty one to thirteen, Bills eight
Josh Alan four seventeen yards passing in four t d s. Guys,
bet to you, Melvin Ingram man Chiez George, did you
see that? I'm sorry I stepped on you. Melvin Ingram

(01:47:22):
has gotta be Oh, he's gotta be going crazy, yeah,
because you had well. But at the same time, Patrick
Mahomes wouldn't have thrown that, Okay, so Melbane Ingram Chargers
defensive end outside linebacker. He jumped off side on a
third and eight, which is a good scenario to have
the Chiefs in. But and they were gonna get a

(01:47:44):
chance to get off the field, jumped off sides, and
Patrick my Homes throws it deep because he knows he
has a free chance. And for the second time you
have a Chiefs well, actually the third time today a
Chief's uh risk sever wide open behind the secondary. You're like,

(01:48:05):
how are you these dudes continuously behind you? And then
he rushes for on third and three and picks up
four yards and the first down. Like this is just
a disaster for the the Chargers right right now, they
had no shot at once. The Chiefs got got got
the ball back. It was a burrito. Uh. Melvin Ingram

(01:48:27):
made a great play on second and eighth. There was
gonna be a swing pass in the flat to Clyde
Edwards Hilaire and he actually batted that down, but jumping
off sides gave the free play, which then made it
a third and three. And then Mahomes uses his legs
to pick up the first down. And here's the other
thing with this is Kansas City is is now nearing midfield.
We're under five minutes to go in overtime. So even

(01:48:49):
if Kansas City somehow they drive stalls, now you're advantie game. Well,
you're asking justin Herbert too now to run a two
minute drill or you know, a three minute drill in
his first career started and overtime against the defending Super
Bowl champions, which um, you know isn't the easiest of tasks.
So it'll be a third and four after Patrick Mahomes

(01:49:12):
was able to dump it off to Clyde Edwards. Hilaire,
we can't do a play by play, that's not allowed,
but we can tell you what happened after the play
is completed. But the Chiefs and Charges tied up at twenty.
But Kansas City just taking their time with this drive
as well. And this is what happens. This is why
you don't like the ten minute overtime. The first possession
is normal, and then the second possession just seems to

(01:49:32):
end up wasting the clock away and and and you
see this in more games than not. Yeah, the other
team is playing the the clock like, oh well, if
we don't score, let's get a bunch of first downs.
And if not, then you know, then the game will
pretty much be over any anyway. But I want to

(01:49:53):
note about Andy Reid's face mask. He's he has that
face shield, And did you notice that they drilled a
that they drilled a hole in his face mask the
way he could the way it didn't fog up on
him today. And I thought that there was a device
that someone said that NHL players used for their advisors

(01:50:14):
that so they don't fog up in games. By the way,
mahomes out a scramble on a fourth and one was short,
and the Chiefs have just converted on a fourth down
and one at the Chargers forty five yard line. The
uh a first down run for Kansas City, so they
keep the drive alive. They went for it on fourth

(01:50:34):
and one from the forty six yard line. This is
and this is why it's a different you know, different cases. Uh,
I'm not necessarily shocked that the Chiefs ended up going
for it in this case, even though they're the better team.
I I the fourth and one in that situation from
the forty five Oh man, I think, yeah, one, they

(01:50:57):
they're playing to win, whereas other team teams would have
punted the ball away right there right there. Oh well,
at least we won't lose. And yeah, and and Kansas
City is is going forward. I also think that they
know that they have the Chargers kind of on their
heels and again in the situation that we we put
out earlier, it's three eighteen to go and uh in

(01:51:18):
this overtime and when you could have justin Herbert. You know,
even if the worst case scenario, um, if they would
have been stopped in that situation, I guess you would
have had you know, Herbert to be able to go
twenty five thirty yards. But now here that they know
that they they can maybe have something going here. It'll
be a second down and ten with three eighteen at
the forty four yard line. Basically, they just need to

(01:51:41):
get four yards because Buttker kicked a fifty eight yard
or earlier in this contest. You know what we're gonna do, George,
We're gonna take an early time out because we got
the m v p S three eighteen to go. There's
a time out on the field. We'll take one as well.

part figuring out which way is easier. Back with the

It's a final in Los Angeles, Fox Sports Right Zone Radio.
He's George Rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer, and Harrison Butker
just connected on his second fifty eight yard field goal

(01:53:08):
of the game. The Chiefs topped the Chargers in overtime
twenty three to twenty. I'll tell you it was because
it was supposed to be a fifty three yard field
goal and but Gert kicked it and made it, and
then there was a false start on Kansas City, backing

(01:53:28):
them up to fifty eight yards. Then the Chargers, who
had one time out, called a time out before the snap.
Butker made the fifty eight yarder, but it didn't count
because of the time out, and then had an opportunity.
So Butker basically made three straight field goals to from
fifty eight, one from fifty three, but it's the last
one that counted. And the Chiefs spoil the debut and

(01:53:52):
I used spoil an air quotes for the simple fact
of I know the Chargers wish they would have won
the game, but to see what Justin Herbert did in
his debut and getting the start for Torodd Taylor, who
was hurt in pregame warmups. Man Chiefs are two and
oh bolts fall the one on one. But for the
hero in overtime. Got to be aggressive guy. I mean

(01:54:12):
that the Chargers on there when they got the ball,
they went empty set and then and you knew that
they weren't gonna start out in the empty set and
throw a throw a pass. So what so what the
Chargers did is they they hugged up because they were said,
hold up, this is either gonna be a quarterback draw

(01:54:35):
or a screen pass. And they threw a screen pass.
They got nowhere, came back second down, ran the football,
and then you end up in a third long and
it's like, okay, well if you don't now now you're
putting your young quarterback behind the sticks. And it's like, no,
you gotta come out and be aggressive because the charge

(01:54:56):
bit because the Chiefs knew that you got a young quarterback.
You don't want to put them in a bad spot.
So they're gonna be hyper aggressive in terms of guarding
the the short things that way, because they don't believe
that you're gonna take a big deep shot when you
have a young kid at quarterback in his first start.
That was unexpected. Fourth and one one of the themes

(01:55:18):
we talked about earlier on the show, because you saw
multiple teams ending up going forward in their own territory.
Chargers choose not to. They pumped it back to the
Chiefs and they never get it back. Get George on
