Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listen to the Fox Sports Radio. You know what,
Buck has been a wild brother. First off, how are you?
I'm good? Look? Wait wait whoa hold on? Man? Hold on.
I know it's been a menis since we've been together,
but I'm gonna eat more energy at you. Well, because no,
you didn't let me the energy was coming, except that
you know, we had these wonderful promos, right, and it's

(00:22):
like Fox Sports Saturday, right, it sounds good and then
it goes and then it goes Calvin Washington. Yeah, in
five year NFL veteran, Bucky, and I was like, hey,
why my high school career can't count or something? I
mean that Michigan's finance. Yeah, yeah, I don't even know
if you know what's funny, Bucky. Let me let me
say this. By the way, we appreciate you guys checking

(00:43):
out the show today. You can follow us on Twitter.
Came up live for myself, Bucky Brooks Fox Sports Radio,
and you can always call in eight seven, seven, three,
six and nine. All right, No, you know what's funny
about life? You know how like you have the Al
Bundy moments, you know you get let me tell you
back in my day, it's been the reverse for me,
as if I had no over, I have become much
more real about my athletic career. At my peak, probably

(01:06):
twenty two three ish, I was I was pretty good
at I would say, you can put me in l A, Detroit,
you know, Atlanta, wherever, and you can play. This is
where this is where I realized they will be like, no,
you're not, he can play. But like, there's levels to this.
And I remember guys who you know, some of the
best guys, whether it be football, basketball, basement are the

(01:27):
guys who didn't play, like, they didn't play on the
team right, they didn't make the team for whatever reason,
and they got in trouble. They up And as I
got older, I remember after high school, still going back
to my hometown and Arber, Michigan, or hanging out you know,
in and out of Detroit. You started to see cats
like wait, why did he play again? And so then
I just started to realize, Okay, I wasn't as nice

(01:47):
as I thought. And I'm willing to admit that I was.
I was cool. I was nice, but I wasn't. I
see some other dudes. I'm like, man, if had he played,
had he played, I would have been Jared Dudley. I
would have been Jared Dudley. Just yeah, yeah, yes, yeah, baby,
yeah you want you want the red or the or
the yellow guy or aye, which one you want? And
they're talking about does he want to come back? Him

(02:11):
and Juwan Howard have had that the greatest five year
run at the end of their career. They're just on
teams that got a chance to win championships and they're
just there, oh between those two and then oh, don't
forget the O g oh you d yeah, no, you
d you d you d you d is on the
plane that we all want. Know you you're right about that.
I think he is like a sitting council member of

(02:32):
Day County and an NBA player, and like he's doing
any any and everything he wants, I mean, whatever he wants.
And then the only thing about that, like the only
reason why I wouldn't swap out their life for that
conditioning test they do down in Miami. Now, yeah, they
a little look, they're they're a little different. They body
fat you every every other week. Every how can they
do this is we are in the most sensitive uh

(02:55):
fat shaming, you know, don't fat shame people are ever,
how can they be hey, excuse me, because you know
they do that with um, the miss universe and all
that they used to get you know, get on the
scale or certain things. Now so we become much more
aware of that, how can they still put it out?
Come here step on his step on the scale? Bro?
Not only that, like in the case you didn't know

(03:16):
not only did you step on the scale, but when
you're on the scale, Hey, let's take that. Let's get
let me see, not on the hill on the exhil
let it out right now, we know what you are.
You know, I'll tell you what though it is bolted,
well for him, he is an amazing ship, you know
what I mean? Like he didn't let it go. He
looks better now than he did for his first few

(03:36):
years in the league. Um. But yeah, so I wouldn't
want to spend too much time in Miami because they're
losers and they're out. They're out, they're out of it.
We got Well, let's talk about some other losers, lakers
even though uh they of course it's a they have
a weird situation right now that they're in because on
one end, you can look at it and you can say, dude, look,

(03:59):
we're rain champs. We didn't have a break. We had
the shortest break ever an NBA history think was seventy
two days um and we had injuries. One of our players,
of ron, never been injured like this before. And a
d find you we're not doing this? Is it there
we're talking about. I don't know. Is Adrian Peterson who

(04:23):
all day? So yeah, well he's not. He's not all day.
He is a quarter of the day. He is first
half of the day at best. I mean, it's listen,
I love a D and and and but man, at
some point you just talked about condition and all that.
He's got to do a whole summer of nothing but
lower lower half like just just who, no, seriously, who

(04:47):
falls more in the history of any sport even running
back to all you do is get tack on the
end up on on the ground. Who falls more than him?
I mean, stink hard, Like I mean, I'm really trying
to think about this, Like a wrestler isn't on the
floor much as him, like and and and I think
there's some lower body situate. I don't know if he's
He has videos if you go to like social he

(05:09):
has videos doing all kinds of workouts with his legs
jumping and all that. Like he and his partners working, Yeah,
like get some leverage down. He's working now. It ain't.
It ain't working though, Bucky. I mean it's it's been
problematic now. But on a serious time, I do want
to ask you this. Okay, you you played professionally for years,
You are around them, You know the game you write about.

(05:30):
In fact, we'll get to something you wrote for NFL
dot com. You scout players. You know this game. You
know athletes even not just football. But we as non professionals,
we all man so and so he's injury prone or
he's this, And is there a real such thing? Is that?
Is it just bad luck? Is it someone is injury prone?

(05:51):
Is it there's there a way around it? What the
heck is Lebron taking that? He has been now more
injured than ever, but he went eighteen years pretty much
injury free. Um, Like, what's going is that? The fact
that a d sometimes because we forget because he's big
and he's mobile, and he's agile, he's versat over that
we forget. Oh, he's a seven footer and historically in
the NBA seven footers half health issues they do. Is

(06:15):
it that like helped me? Because I want to ask Bucky,
the GM of the Lakers, Okay you are you are
Um rob Low, I mean Polinka and you are sitting
there and figuring like, Okay, we got this guy, this
long term deal. He's supposed to be the future. As
Lebron fades out of here, are you worried? Yes, I'm

(06:38):
very worried because what we what we saw this series,
Lebron is on the down is first time I ever
admitted it paid me. But it paying me, Bucky, you know,
Lebron looked like at the end of the last don't disrespect,
don't I'm just saying, look I gave I gave h
b hoops maybe twelve years ago. Lebron looks like me
and direct le Lebron looks like me and directly because

(07:01):
there look, there was a couple. There was a couple
back and forth going up and down the court, and
Lebron looked at the bench was like, yo, I need one.
He did he did. I was like, Lebron just like me. Yeah,
Lebron just let me down to Verdondo Beach, down to
the hangar, like, hey, good, I need one. I'm good. Yeah, yeah,
that's hill, but I think yes, this was the first

(07:25):
time that I went, oh, he might not be the
best player, he could be the best player for five
minutes and I saw people blocking the shot. Yeah, and
he I mean James miss Sauce dancing on him. He
missed bunnies. He's oh, he missed the layout where I'm like,
bro her finger. He touched the backboard like, yeah, he's
missing bunnies. And by the end of it, like we

(07:46):
saw the great dunk Caruso thwart off the board. Was
that game too? Ye? And he that photogenic came off
the thing, but that was that was game too. Yeah,
that the time we got the game five and six
and he wasn't really running up. So they need they
need a D because for this to work, this was
supposed to be the transition that we saw like a

(08:09):
Lebron's Kareem magic. You can use Shaquille O'Neil k oh
actually Dwyane Wade because he was still thought he was
the one. Yeah, and then and then you kind of
slowly he bro, you do my life work. I'll show
up on a big games. But now if a D
S hurt and Lebron has to be the number one.

(08:30):
It wasn't supposed to be that. I was supposed to
give you them flashes. Oh oh, I still I still
got it. You ain't got it, old man, But hey,
he has it. He has it when he needs it.
You just you just use something. You don't even know
what you said, flashes, Let's break it home. This is
when Dwyane Wade realized, I'm still a top ten player
in this league. I'm still the guy. Sometimes I can

(08:51):
be a top three player, but I ain't the Wade
of you know, oh, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. And
at a certain point he realized, I gotta get these
kids in Lebron And that, to me is what you're
right with. Lebron was expecting to do. The problem is
he hits his wagon. Is somebody who's wagging is always
missing a wheel. And here's the other thing that that
that the downside. So you know, everybody here knows I'm

(09:13):
Bron's biggest fan. He goes, you know, Gloria, Savannah and
your boy. Okay, it's just it's it's like that, and
maybe Savannah you know me first. Um. But one of
the downside, Bucky to a and I think this is
applicable to NFL with quarterbacks. Somebody you wise, I think
it all Aaron Rodgers that when you are everything orbits

(09:37):
around you offensively, when you are the offense, the problem
is guys forget how to play. I don't forget I
play basket. But because Kyle Kuzma has regressed, Hey man,
that's one of the biggest disappointments. And it really is.
Kyle Kuzma, Kyla Kusman just looked like a guy on

(09:58):
the court. You might be giving him something. I mean,
he like he did nothing the entire series. And so
you have this thing, this dilemma that you're the Lakers
where your best player is used to playing a certain
way in the offense and the pieces of the puzzle
typically fit around his skills, where his skills are beginning

(10:18):
to maybe decline, and the other part of the puzzle,
or the big piece of the puzzle that you thought
you were gonna build around, he ain't always available. So
now you're looking like, I mean, it was a hot
metal he had Shrewder out there. Okay, if you're dinner
Shrewder's agent in the middle of the series, did you

(10:39):
try and you try and text Rob and see if
you could get that deal back. Man, I was like, Rob,
you know that it be tripping, you know, sending the papers,
Send the papers over man, way hold on you saying that,
well that's my old email saying that again, and let's
we sign that eighty four million, because well the only
benefit he may have is just that that's just the

(10:59):
way the league is now. Because if you look at something,
if you look at this is the perfect time to
have been playing in the league. And even if you're
a bum, Dennis at least has nights where he can show, like, look,
look what I've done. Even in that series he had
a couple of games. Really all right, all right, that's
the dnnist what I really am. If and he can
maybe blame it on Kovid, blame it on he can
blame it on Kovid, Mantres Harrold. I don't know what

(11:23):
he but you can't be mad at Montres because he
didn't get any burn. How are you gonna space me
to come out here and hoop? They treated Montres Herrol,
you know what, they treated him like like he was
Ron Harper rememb when Ron Harper used to sit over
on the sideline with the heating packs on his knees
and they would ask him where four minutes left in
the game, I need you to get in and go

(11:44):
guard their best point guard. That's what they did with
mantres Her. They did but but but there's something larger
to that. Then though, if your team is losing at
a certain point, they realizing, man, this ain't working. Putting
him in this ain't working. Twin, get in, this ain't working.
And they finally put you with isn't that And then
Dietmond as to what the how they feel about you?
Because I can get a series say hey, a couple

(12:04):
of this series might not be the one, but once
you see the series going downhill, you gotta throw. They
were throwing anybody in. The kid was looking like, I
can give you six minutes and then I'm like what
what I'm like my tres Harrold must have said something
about Frank Vocus Why, I mean, what is going on?
What is like? What? Why? What does he know? Something
like what did you do something? This is abnormal for

(12:27):
a six Man of the Year, not six men of
the year six years ago, six man of reigning six
Man of the year until well. Jordan Clarkson now but
and he gets no minutes a guy who can if
nothing else. What was one of the other issues, You
would say the Lakers no energy, oh none at all,
and they're out there just sleep walking and not playing hard.

(12:48):
They're playing these young and look, when you look at
the playoffs in general, the hard playing teams were the
ones that were advanced, the ones that had energy and effort.
I mean, the Atlanta Hawks got me feeling like they
should have freed Nick back in Atlanta the way Trey Young.
You know, then we're getting after Like I was like, man,
look at the Hawks, who know the Hawks kick it down.
And I love that he is embracing being a villain.

(13:11):
I love that. I mean him Capella, they we need
that back in the league and we're gonna get We're
gonna talk about that as well. Plus another one I
want to throw at you about the young talent Trey
Young fits in this. We'll get to that net in
a moment. But next Marcella's widely who has to be
I don't know if he's excited or nervous. The fact
that now it all comes down to the Game seven

(13:33):
between the Clippers and the man's probably nervous now he
was excited last night. He's nervous, and he's nervous now, Okay,
he's nervous to day. He he won't tell us that,
but we're gonna we're gonna bring him one, uh next
to to gloat a little bit. I guess he can
go because they won force the game seven and the
Lakers they're out of this thing. Bucky, you spend a
bunch of time with him. I don't spend as much
as I used to with the Marcella while he joins us.
Next is Bucky Brooks Calvin Washington, Fox Sports Saturday on

(13:56):
Fox Sports Radio. Vin. Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm blaming on.
If you're dinn't shoot his agent, you're blaming it on
the COVID and that listen to COVID. Set him back.
He can play better than that. Matter of fact, y'all
sign him back now, Ryn, the boy still got it.
Fox Sports Saturday. It is, of course Fox Sports Radio

(14:16):
covering Washington. My man, Bucky Brooks here with you. Bucky
has been a while too, you man, This first time
I've seen you about the year and a half something forever.
I mean, I see you on see you on TV
every day. A whole bunch of ball headed black dudes
on TV. You Marcellus, who else somebody else be up there?
I'll be like nobody got some hair up on there? Oh,
speaking of which, Marcella's widely joins us. Now, um, who

(14:38):
has to be feeling good? I asked you this buck,
I said, is he is he? Is he gloating right now?
Or is he? Is he nervous? I don't know right now?
Your clippers had a great game, Kauai. I gotta give
him his credit. He bawled out forty some points. How
you feeling at that? You're happy and nervous? Man, I'm
already above you know, I'm feeling good, but not great
because it's not over yet. But it the best team

(15:01):
is gonna win this series. The cream gonna ride to
the top. So no better two people than Bucky Brooks
Rose that a stone who translates forts. No better better
than everybody else. If my dog Calvin from the old school,
I know your pistons ain't even got a shot, your
fake your fake laker love. So I don't know what

(15:22):
you're gonna do right now, but we ain't got no
room on the wagon. Baby seats at capacity? Well, let
me let me say this. Number one man, I got
on his Pistons hat right now, and this I mean,
I'm trying to hang on. I ain't gonna lie. I
walked past the trash can. I was like, oh, you
know what, But no, you don't ride with him because
you know, Isaiah Thomas will say back when I was
in league, he'll be mad if I would do that.

(15:44):
But but but but you know, my favorite teams are Pistons, Lebron,
and Lakers. Right now, okay, and Lebron, meaning if Lebron
went to the Orlando Magic, then I'm gonna have onl Okay.
I am bad enough to admit that. All right, let's
talk about the look man. One of the things, as
much as we tease you, we have fun, and you
obviously do a great job on social media having fun
with this. One thing that I think has been understated

(16:07):
in this series is how great chair Leonard has been
outside of maybe a game. And he doesn't talk, he
doesn't puff himself up, he doesn't do the Lebron post. Hey,
by the way, I'm great. Did you know that that
was great? I'm let me post pictures and I'm great.
He doesn't do that. But the fact the matter is,
dog has been playing. He's been he's been balling out. Man,
he's getting his brains done every game. I mean, he's
looking good. Why aren't we acknowledging that really the greatness

(16:30):
of Kauai oh Man because he doesn't kick up all
that duff you know what it is, Man, We don't
give him love because seas all substance and he doesn't
care about the sizzles. So we're gonna be late to
that party. And it's sad to see because that just
happens time and time again. Bucky might know this one.
I got hit with a meme in the NFL world

(16:52):
that shows side by side just that of comparison between
Ray Lewis and London Fletcher, And just want people to
go have some fun on Google one day and look
up ray Lewis's career status, then look up London Fletchers
and you're gonna be crazy surprised at how close stay worked.
But one kicked up dus while he made the same

(17:13):
place as someone who didn't. And that's not to take
a shot at Lebron, not to take a shot at
ray Lewis. It's just to say, if you're gonna go
out there and do it, and you don't kick up
no dust. People ain't gonna be out here talking about
you as much as they should. So Kauai is our
silent the Sas and we know who he is, we
know why we brought him in here. Hopefully it contends
to deal and get us that chip. I mean, before

(17:33):
you can finish the deal, you'all gotta deal with the Boogeyman.
The Boogeyman didn't play great the last night, Luka. And no,
it wasn't great. There was an ugly twenty nine. It
was it was. It was an ugly twenty nine. But
but there's something about I don't know if it's something
in the water when he comes up to l A,
if he gets he gets his feet in the ocean,
but he plays different in l A. How worried are

(17:55):
you about Luka done going big against the Clippers in
Game seven? Oh? Very worried. You know what it is?
Look at the down man. I think that dude is
gonna be the future of the NBA if he ain't already.
Right now, as we look at Lebron and he's trying
to take that crown off his head because the King
is the king no more. We know that, we know
Lebroni the bet player in basketball anymore. Now you know

(18:17):
it hurts me, he said, move past that point. But yo, Luca,
when he comes close to the Pacific, he has the
donkey out here. And it's crazy because well you saw
last night points is Kelvin pointed out, Look, that's still
a great game. It's just not up to his standards
of insaneness that we've been seeing so far this series.

(18:38):
That said, we threw different coverages at him. Kauai raised
his hand a little higher and said, I'll take them
off of these picking roles. I'll take them and won't
switch his offend. And then also we just threw different
packages at him in defensive coverage. So it just seemed
like it was a concerted and as certain effort. Everybody said,
we're gonna have to stop Luca if we got a chance. Now,

(19:00):
the road teams have won every single game, so that
Bowl is favorable for Luca and the MAV's, but I
think we've kind of figured out how to keep them
at a manageable level twenty nine points. So let's be
real and still go out there and service everybody else.
So I expect the Clippers to win despite Lucas still
gonna probably go off. Well. One of the things I think,
who's kind of getting a scapegoating all this is port

(19:22):
zingis big, big man, the unicorn and by the way,
he he more like corn on the cob right now.
He had seven points and five rebounds and thirty one minutes.
But I'm gonna need I'm gonna need more than that. Okay,
we're calling you a unicorn and all to give you
nicknames and all that. I'm gonna need more than seven
points out of you. So I think he's been He's
definitely Luca has his performance or you know some games

(19:43):
when the Clippers maybe didn't guard him enough. We've talked
about that. We haven't talked about port zingis uh not
showing up in that series. But let's let me let
me say this to your point, by the way, speak
for yourself, Marcella. Is why that you could check him out?
Of course on that show? Uh yeah you know, No, No,
y'all do a great job out there. Even though I
just get mad. I I want to fight you every
time I hear what you're saying on there. Make sure

(20:06):
you check that show out on FS one. Um, you
mentioned a great point home team keeps winning, which is
very odd in sports. Right home to you, that's the
reason why you want home court, home ice, home, whatever advantage.
Let's assume it stays that way. God forbid for you
would Clipper fans. Luca does what Luca does. He wins,
wins four to two points, They win the game. What
do you do with this Clippers team? Do you run

(20:27):
it back? You say, hey, we just ran up against
a guy who's a monster. Right now, do you make
a change? Its Paul George. It's time for him to go.
What do you do? Man? I know misery loves company,
but since your pistons out of, your leggers out, you're
just trying to make my team get out. You know.
I don't even do this no more. I don't do
this level of journalism no more. I'm gonna tell Kwamie
Brown about you, homeboy and my mom done. Hey man,

(20:54):
all due respect is the legendary is the greatest ever
on the microphone, Kawamie Brown. If Tupac had a baby wood,
scary girl, do this next level? I can't believe what
he says, even when he shoot at my homies. I'd
be like, you better duck because he ain't lying by
you know, man. I went through and scrubbed my Twitter.

(21:16):
I was like, dude, I said anything about Kwami. I
mean I took out any Qualmie, the rapper who with
the poking dots, Kwamie, Kilpatrick, Marri Detroit, anybody, Clammie anything.
I deleted it. I want to know smoke with the Kwamie.
Kwamie was walking through there like he was from the
wire for real, whistling with the shock and I was like,
this is too much, yo, you ain't lying, hey dog.

(21:39):
He smoked all the homies and to that point, it's funny.
I know that Mattens and Stephen didn't even want all
the smoke because Matt that took a shot at me
like a week before Kwamie hit and Matt my boy,
So I ain't treat but I just took the shot
like maybe he disagreed with me, but no lie. After
Kwamie hit, that comment from Matt disappeared off my Instagram,
I was like he squirrel boys shook out. Yeah. I

(22:06):
don't even know what the question was. The question, I
guess that is the question, has anybody had to come back,
like Kwamie, I mean, but but on a larger, on
a larger confrontation with that too. You guys were pros
and and I mean, is there a point when you
can beat somebody down too far? You know, I'm trying
to think of who's uh smoo, it's the smooth Parker
come back coming, you know what I mean, because he's

(22:27):
been the butt all jokes too, Like, is there a
point when it x as an ex athlete or during
your playing time when you're like, hey man, that's going
too far? Because I had Ryan Holland sitting here Bucky
and and he said, like I felt like Kwamie, like,
you know, I couldn't wait to get in the media
to voice my opinion for the guys who are like,
hey man, you know I made it. I am a success.
I'm an eight ten ure veteran and whatever the sport is,
I mean, do we go too far back? Or are

(22:49):
they being too sensitive? Man? Oh man? There's three sides
to every story, So it's interesting. I'm with Kwamie on
this one because I never let it let it leave
my mouth that somebody's a bus Now, there's been times
have been asked if he's a bus and I clown people.
You know me, I love to joke it, but you
always got to talk about the act, not the actor.

(23:10):
You know, we're talking about the perform miants, not to
perform merch. And when it gets to the point where
it got with Kuamie, it was like, guys, we're making
it personal or the joke is so old, so long
and it's not fact based that now we got a problem.
In Quambi didn't even trip until they finally start messing
with the facts. Like he accepted I was a bum,

(23:32):
a bus, whatever you wanna call him. He was like,
I ain't tripping on that. But when they went out
there and tried to clown the trade for Kuamie, and
he was like, no, I was a part of that trade.
You ain't a little that far. That's fact base. That's
when I'm like, all right, I want to Kuama. So
hopefully I've never been guilty of what he's feeling and
what Ryan Hollins is feeling, because look, we all had ups,
we all had downs. Man, it's just you gotta respect

(23:55):
his dude and totality. If you're gonna take it personally,
if you're not gonna take it personal, then keep it
on the court. He doesn't accept that he didn't play
as well as he was expected to. Nobody tripping on that.
It's just when they keep beating that dead dog and
then they start trying to take the personal part and
the life out the dog. Now we got a problem.
Now look it was a problem. And look I'm here

(24:16):
for the jokes. I'm here for the jokes. And if
you look what once you gree in, you in? So
I'm all about that because it was all key keys
until Kwamie Brown fireback. But I got one for you clippers. Guy. Um,
I don't know if someone can give themselves their own nickname,
but I guess playoff, Pete. That's that's that's Paul George's self, Monica, Right,

(24:37):
playoff people. How nervous are you about Paul George and
which Paul George is gonna show a man? I believe
in Pete more than most I will say that, and
obviously I'm a little biased. But here's what makes me
nervous is every time we have a adverse situation, or
we lose the game or something. His post game comments, dog, No,

(25:00):
I ain't never seen somebody like like It's one thing
to say you ain't shook, and it's another thing to
be lying because you are shook. And sometimes Paul be
guilty of the ladder here the thing if I'm walking
through Snowfall and I'm with Franklin and them, and I'm like, yo,
I'm a rose crass. I'm a little ship. Now, if
you ask me how I feel, I can't say, Man,

(25:21):
I ain't tripping. This ain't nothing. It's just it's just
the jungle, It's just Nickerson Guarden, It's just the hood. Nah.
And that's how playoff PB acting. He acted like, man,
ain't nothing wrong with all this killing going around here?
And I'm like, dog, no, it's something wrong. Lucas destroying
people right in front of you. You need to act
like you're gonna do something about it. So that's the
only thing acknowledged, the real You can't lead me if

(25:43):
you're lying to me, And sometimes playoff p because you
want to be such a leader be lying to us. Yeah,
he's one of those people. He doesn't convince me with
the press conferences like no, I'm not I'm calling I'm
calling woof on that, And I like the the the
Snowfall reference there too. I just I just I just
got called up on it. I'm all caught up on it.
And I was screaming at at midnight one of the morning,

(26:04):
screaming I had nobody to talk to. My baby is
sleep like, ohh and I had nobody. I should have
woke you up and called you. Hey. You gotta hit
me next time. Hey, dog, and rest in peace to
man boys because them I was hurt when they took
mad Boy. Y'all. That was my dog. Yeah, he was
low key. You kinda can. You can understand him, you
can relate, You can get him more than I wanted to.

(26:27):
By the way, you should have at least that spoiler alert.
All right, somebody listening right now. Just they just threw
the phone in the airline. Kidney, Hey, Marcella is widely
big dog. We appreciate you joining this man again. Man,
it's great catching up with you. We gotta get together
to get the fans together. Man, since you and Bucky
just all buddy, buddy, you boy can't get in the
middle of the more and hang out. Hey, I gotta hey,

(26:48):
Bucky known for like a decade I had a love
affair for Bucky. How he doing? How he killing on
the mic. I just don't want to do anymore than
push up. You aren't you're doing speak for yourself. I
don't want anything to do with those chefs. Oh man,
I hope, hey, hopefully Monday I get him one more time.
All we need one more win, bro. Yeah, I'll tell
you what. Hey, make sure again you speak for yourself

(27:09):
fs one at noon. Uh, and you and I, I
mean he has more commerce. Him and Shack are competing
for the most commercial I mean I didn't I keep
seeing them. All right, we we gotta get to Ralph, man,
but I appreciate. I'll check in with your brother, alright,
love y'all again. All right, we'll see how does the
Clippers fair? Right now, We're gonna see what it is
trending with my man, Ralph for him, well, we'll do that,

(27:29):
and I'll just remember who the best two players were
on the floor against the Suns and Lakers. Because I'm
not doing this with you. I'm not doing Listen, it
is a new day, it is a new weekend. Alright.
Let's stay in the present. My presence is always built
in the pass. Here we go. We got major League

(27:50):
Baseball on the field already, two finals in Detroit against
two home runs from Eric cost they beat the White
Sox for three. Cincinnati Auhenio Square is a two run
bomb and the Reds of one five of their last six,
beating St. Louis five to two. Right now, they're in
the eighth inning. Toronto continues to lead Houston. That is
six one in Buffalo, Andrew mccutch in a three run homer.

(28:13):
Philadelphia takes the four one leader at Washington. They're in
the fifth inning. Tampa Bay still up to nothing in Texas.
That's in the sixth in Arizona continues to shut out Milwaukee.
It's to nothing in the fourth inning. Cleveland just putting
a beating on Baltimore. Now the Indians with a seven
to lead of five run third inning. They have a

(28:34):
seven to lead in Baltimore. There in the fourth inning,
Miami takes a three to advantage over Pittsburgh. They're in
the fifth Minnesota three to. They continue to lead at
Kansas City. That is also in the fifth inning. Steve
Clifford is out as the head coach of the Orlando Magic.
Clifford a three year tenure with the team. He took

(28:55):
him to the playoffs in the first two years before
the team decided to break it all up and send
everybody all across the NBA, and he didn't want to
stick around for the rebuild, so his position will be
open as his The head coaching job in Portland's Terry
Stots gone Friday night after the team exited the playoffs
in the first round for the fourth time in five years.

(29:16):
The NBA Playoffs get started at seven thirty Eastern time tonight,
second round action. Guys Brooklyn hosting the Milwaukee Bucks game
one of that series. Will send it back now. It
is Kelvin Washington and Bucky Brooks, our two best guys
on the floor today. I thank you butting us up.
I appreciate that. All right, Yes, my man, Lebron and

(29:37):
you and Ralph and Bucky liked seven. He was anyone back. Yeah,
this is this was This was hard. I have to admit,
you know, being the the driver, the janitor, the uh
the promoter of the Lebron band wagon for the last
fifteen years, it was hard to see like okay and

(29:58):
Anthony Davis may it still looked like he you know,
he could be the best player in the league. Lebron
because when eighties healthy and bawling. It doesn't Lebron hasn't
have to do everything. So then therefore you said, oh,
he's still Lebron. But when you saw, oh, he can't
go two thousand and ten Lebron, you know in Boston, Uh,
you know when he goes crazy against two thousand and

(30:18):
eleven or twelve, whatever it was, he can't go two
thousand and sevent He destroyed the Pistons, you know, twenty
five out of twenty eight points straight and just going crazy.
He can't do that anymore, which we knew was coming,
but I didn't expect to see it with Drake Jake
Crowder Sausa dancing. I didn't expect any like that. But
you know what, I love split in the last few
minutes here before we're gonna break. I love the villains

(30:40):
are back. I love that Laker fans don't like Cameron Payne.
They want to bring pain to Cameron Payne, which he
had a black eye, so would just fit. I love
that Devin Booker is like, just because I'm alive's kin, brother,
you're not gonna take me softly. You can tell that.
You can tell he's thought that his whole life. I
can tell and he was like, I'm I'm a punch first.

(31:02):
And I like that about I like that Jake Crowder
is in Lebron's grill sauce of dancing, because it's as
much as I love Lebron and I love especially what
he does off the court too. That's one of the
things you wish he maybe a little had a little
bit more in him, a little more tough guy, a
little more just a little bit, just a little bit.
I don't need him to be Charles Oakley. I didn't
need him to be Isaiah Thomas and and and Scottie

(31:24):
Pippen if they were in the elevator. I didn't need that.
But I didn't need a little bit of, you know,
just a little bit like I needed sometimes when he
gave Steph Curry, that's the only player in history Lebron
consistently what you know in the court with toss, smack
and shot and talk smack. He did that with no
one else, not Kobe, who we always wanted to put
him against each other, not his own Carmelo was always brother, brother, brother,

(31:46):
not even Chris Paul, who's trying to rip his arm
out of his socket. The only player he's ever had
a little because they gave it to Steph a little
ear before, and they gave him just the you're the
new guy, a lottle earlier than may be deserving, and
so Lebron didn't didn't like that. Um oh, yes, you hang,

(32:11):
Lebron James is still top five. Nice book. Le Let
me say my chest. Lebron is still top top top.
It has a five in it. It could bet five,
could joker. No, he's top five still? You mean today

(32:32):
at like to forty here on the West coast, right,
don't ask me? And then next starting next season, I'm
hanging on talking with the fact that right now he's
still top five. I feel like this should almost be
a pole question. I'm almost willing to take calls in
on that one, like top five. All right, you're gonna
do that, but real quick before we do that. And
I love Trey Young bowing in New York Madison Square

(32:53):
Garden him that you man, Clint Capella talking smack. I
love that man. That's when I fell in love with
basketball is the late eighties, and of course with the
bad boys been growing up in Detroit area, and then
with the Reggie Miller's of the world and the Knicks
and Jordan not liking team. I'm not like, I'm not
saying that these guys gonna be fake tough guys. I
don't want that. I just want you to not always

(33:15):
get along, even if it's just between the lines, right.
I don't need you picking every guy up. I don't
need you patting the other guy in the butt. Hey, man,
that was a great shot. I don't need that. Text
them later. And I love that I'm seeing people like
Trey Young is coming for it and I love to
see it, man, And I think it makes for a
bit more entertaining basketball, for sure. That's a great question.
Bucky just posed you. You post. I can't even do it.

(33:37):
You say it? Man? Is Lebron it hurts you? Huh?
Is Lebron James still a top five player? A few?
I can't? Yes, Oh we have Okay, let's just think
about the candidate we have. We have, Luca, this is
where we're going to you keep na get ready to

(33:57):
go to break seven seven, six, three six, Call in
k d Harden carry hate them looking like he's not
top five to Steph Curry, just say him all right,
Uh's not dying a giant top five yet giants. I

(34:19):
settled down, Spider, settle down people. Now you're you're, you're
you're to settle down level there you Yes, step is
in that steph Dame, that's already six Dame. I didn't
say these people are. I'm just giving you the roster
in which we will then choose. Okay, Sam, Sam, you
are no longer brother. Hey we might be just hanging

(34:40):
in steven seven, six nine, or you can tweet Fox
Sports Radio bucket books are myself, katob live, is Lebron
James still top five? We'll talk about the next Fox
Sports Radio. You know, you know what you hit me with, Bucky. Oh,
little baby has taken Drake spot. And that's like what
you're trying to do with Lebron. You're trying to tell
me that people have taken this, Yeah, saying a little

(35:04):
baby has moved Drake out. Yes, he is basically like
what Drake you know, might take a break, might do this.
And little baby is working, working. He just dropped a
new album him a Little Dirk and it's it is
Hot and Catino Mobile. If you're listening, HI, take that.
We had a debate last week. I said, we remember
that saying I said, which baby is hotter? Right now?

(35:25):
A little baby? Or do baby? And uh, right now?
I put a poll up catob live on social media,
Bucky Brooks Fox Sports Radio and I'm winning by me
And then I said some other baby was a third option.
You can click on some other baby. All right, I
want to get to these phone calls quickly. Eight seven,
six nine, try to sneak something before you have to
break again. Bucky asked the question. He said, is Lebron

(35:47):
James top five? And I was insulted by that, but
I was actually sad that I had to think about it.
It really hurt me a little bit. All right, let's
go to uh North Carolina, North Kaka Laki. Let's go
to Joe. Hey, yeah, hey guys, um, yeah, I think
that he's still taught five. And on the reason I
say this because before the injury, he was having an

(36:09):
m v P type year. That's right, talk to him though,
I think, yeah, so I don't think. I just don't
think he was in gang shape yet. It was too
soon after he you know, came in. Joe, you know what,
that's why you need to go run from mayor of
a town in North Carolina. We appreciate the call, Joe.
Let's keep it going. We'll go to Dave in Texas.
What's up, Dave, Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call. Alright,

(36:32):
so I'm not even the name names. I'll just name
a few teams and you can come up with six
or seven guys, I think right away. You know Brooklyn, Milwaukee, Mavericks,
you know, you know you take Take, There's you know,
three or four guys there, Golden State, there's the other guy.
And who's the m v P sixers. I think, uh,

(36:58):
I mean Lebron's great look, but uh, you know, I
think he gets a lot of credit for the past.
And and then there's probably three or four other guys
you know who I just listed that are like up
and comers that are gonna you know, if when you
look back to like, okay for next year, you're gonna go,
oh man, you have those guys way better. Anyway, No, Dave,

(37:22):
we appreciate the call. I'll give you. I'll give you. Yes.
As far as the young guys, Luca is better. I
don't think Dame is considered young anymore. Right, He's like
him and stuff are kind of the same, you know,
little group. If you will. Yeah, there's no other young
guy that I would say that is better than him.
Maybe indeed, if you are as far as younger guys, definitely, definitely.

(37:47):
He's so unorthodox and boring, but he's still good, so good. No, no,
I'm giving him his credit. My guys, if he was
at the y m c A, you will be Luka,
I gotta pick it. No, no, no, Luca is the
best player in name Yeah, I mean how many more?
Luca's number one in the NBA for me? WHOA, And

(38:07):
I know there's Kevin Durant, I know there is. We're
gonna put Luca over top of k d Janice and
those other guys. Listen, Luca Danchees is the only player
who I feel echoes Lebron when Prian Lebron in that
if it's just him and four other people, we win.

(38:27):
In there's no other player that I feel like that
about where it's if it's just him, we're winning. Kevin
Durant was it has been the best player for you know,
our second best player for years. But now I don't
know because it's so loaded, I don't know it is Kevin.
He's the most efficient offensive player without a doubt that's
still not a question. But what Luca does and what

(38:48):
Luca can do night at nine out you just told
me twenty nine and eleven and ten or whatever it
was it was, it was a bad game. I mean
that's Lebron type stuff where Lebron has fourteen and you go,
I mean I won a good game. M hmm. I'm
not mad at Kevin Durand. If it's Kevin Durand. If
somebody says Kevin Durand and maybe I'm projecting because he's
only twenty two years old, I can scary how good

(39:09):
Luca can be if he's only twenty two, that's scary.
Let's go to uh do we already here? Joe? Is
that another Joe? Tommy Joe Joe Man? I think they're
coming up with fact names. Joe, is that your real
name's up? Joe Joe Joe? What's up in Seattle? What's
up Fellas? Hey, Bucky big fan man? I appreciate you all, Yo.
I don't know what that other dude was talking about,
just naming teams. I got a list of leven Off

(39:29):
top Man and be honest, Kyrie Durant Harden is better
than Lebron. Yeah, Kyrie is more talented as far as
I'll give you that. Right, Okay, here here's my way back.
Let me ask you this, Joe to the first Joe's
called credit. If he is healthy and you're in a series,

(39:49):
you'd rather have healthy Kyrie over healthy Lebron, not team
just singularly, yep, yep, yep. Maybe two years ago. No,
but who's Lebron? Showed up in that as bros out
on him? But I got a twelve man too, right now,
Bucky Brooks, I'm picking him over Lebron. Yeah, that's right.
Oh man, that's right, Joe, Joe. I was swinging up

(40:10):
to see. Look, man, they definitely you know what they are.
They're definitely sleepless in Seattle. Definitely sleepless in Seattle. Joe.
I appreciate the call, Joe. See's what I see. That's
why you But you got glasses? What I see you? Look?
You can't be wearing to do rag without having hair,
really like, you can't have those things like that right
there from the top five. I'm not doing this with you,
all right, man? We got some football talk. Aaron Rodgers,

(41:56):
we're sitting the wrong U. So yeah, go get to
go to care. That that's It's so funny because Father's
Day is not the big, grandiose one like Mother's Day.
I always forget. I'm like, oh Yeahdadyday coming up around
the corner. Cow many kids. You have Bookie to seventeen
and fourteen. One's about your your your sons, sons, sons,

(42:16):
apout going, y stayed little baseball, We out, we out out.
You got one out to paint. Guess what I'm doing?
Are you have another one one coming in a month
to the date to the exact date on and that
is great. You know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna
send you a number too. A plumber. We gotta cut
off that faucet. Dog we got cut up to faust

(42:38):
man like look without disclosing yours, like, oh man, we're
gonna do like you can't be you can't be the
seventh year old dude that problem. No, man, I know
there's a there was a meme of two old people
and they had a hat on like me. But imagine
me twenty years from now trying to have a hat
on and on like this with the polls on, you know,
getting low with the polls. Mom dropping in front of
a gene looking off cool and I was like, it's
gonna be me at my kids graduation. And I was like,

(43:00):
that's me because I have a four and a half
who was four and a half going on twelve. You know,
I got two and a half and now a half
bacon in the oven, So you can be you can
be the old dude wearing Tim's in the fit. I
see why you like Lebron because you're canna be that
dude whining to do rag like at an advanced age,

(43:20):
when the age, when the age is out, you're still
gonna be rocking, disrespecting. All right, you. First of all,
I am, I still have hair, and if I didn't,
I was bowed gracefully. One of the greatest things Kobe Bryant, ever,
did not any one points, not winning five championships, not this,
not that it was that he bowed out gracefully. You
forgot Kobe Bryant had an afro because he bowed out bridgfully.
He just kept every season he went lower and lower

(43:42):
and lower until he was bald like you, and you
were like, no, you come always Look. He even had
that Dog River's hairline thing. Because I still don't know
how Doc has it. Yeah, I'm like, how does he
have hair? Not? Doc just has that hair is a hairline,
but nothing else. I don't know. I'm not but no, no, listen,
we can. We can get to Aaron Rodgers here. But

(44:02):
the greatest Barbara in the history of mankind is Jalen
Roses Barber. That's tight, is super tight. Hair is perfectly
you know, black, but not two black. He got he
got the basic but it's but it's not embarrassing basis
and is the fattest pro. Now he's got a little
bit more hair, so it's curl. The curl. Jalen Roses

(44:24):
Barber is in the Hall of Fame. But barbershop or
Barbara Dame, whatever you want to call it, barbershop, Barbara
dam He is in the Hall of Fame. Uh speaking
of Hall of Fame Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Yes,
he will be there eventually. Uh. You and I we
used that's probably the number one thing we used to
debate on or argue about Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, because I
would always that like sitting there, liked, what do you
mean he's not the best player? And now this is

(44:44):
when because you and I have this is pre full
on Patrick Mahomes, So this is pretty that you'd be like, yeah,
he is, but what about this? But what about that?
But what it did Aaron Rodgers. But it has been
a an interesting seven eight years for him in that
for all of us to have been he's the best
player and then leave. He's the most talented player probably
ever maybe outside of you know, Barry Sanders, a couple

(45:05):
of other players. There's not a lot to show for it.
And as far as rings, right, there's there's one ring.
And if you said, okay, fine, maybe not only one.
Can you at least go to the Super Bowl a
couple of times and lose at least get there. There's
been a lot of look at me, I'm great and
the numbers are great, but it's kind of like doing

(45:25):
you are, but what's up? And you can say, and
I've said it, well, you don't have all the talent
that now I'm starting to get this respected right now,
he's got top five receiverant Adams, the top five receiver
last year. He had the number one offensive line of football.
Back y'all in the backfield, which you will into that
later is a stud in the backfield. The defense people do. Look,

(45:48):
they take shots to the defense, but the defense was
the top ten defense at some point. Like, bro, what
I mean? I mean like I'm look today, you you're
pulling all the hot takes out of me today. But
I'm gonna say, but I'm gonna say this because I
know this is near and dear to your heart. If
we swapped Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers and we put

(46:08):
Matthew Stafford in Green Bay, when Matthew stafforded them the
same stuff in Green Bay that Aaron Rodgers has done,
I'll say just about not as much, because I do
think they're I do think his talent throughout the years
did lift some of those teams that were, you know,
medio not mediocre, but Matthew Stafford won one Super Bowl
and Green Bay. I'm gonna say no, because if Aaron hasn't,

(46:33):
there's Matthew couldn't have. But to your point, I get
what you're saying is that if anyone was in that
system and in a market that you know is there's
not a lot of controversy. For the most part, they
always got They're always putting out a quality team. Unlike
the Lions. Matthew Stafford had had a lot of success.
He'd had a ten and six every year. Bank it
put it in, put in the bank. Matthew Staffords ten

(46:54):
and six. Um. But I won't say that Aaron Rodgers,
I I want that's a bit blasphemous. But there is
something too, dog. You should have produced one more ring
because Tom Brady, who the last four or five years
hasn't been as talented as you. But whatever to you said, well, no,

(47:14):
I look at Tampa. Okay, Well he did it with
the Patriots, who we we weren't screaming. That was the
most talented teams, you know, and you've got other guys.
You know, matt Ryant got there recently and blew it
should have won one, should have one you know, you
you're getting other guys like some my my, My annoyance
with the argument is this, what is Aaron Rodgers The
NFC Championship games? He's won in four. I think he's

(47:35):
wonder four in championship games. Um, you know who else
was woning for? Donovan McNabb. Okay, So so that's what
I'm so, that's what I'm saying. The way that we
celebrate Aaron Rodgers when we look at at the end
of the day, he and Donovan McNabb were sitting at
the same spot when it comes to those championship games,
and we could argue Donov McNab didn't necessarily have the

(47:59):
same level of town. He probably didn't less except the
t o here. So so with Aaron Rodgers, I know
we always talked about he doesn't have he didn't have
eat Man. He He's had a whole lot, and everyone
likes to take this because I love seeing this and
sometimes I'm screaming at the TV. They never gave him
a number one receiver. Okay, cool, they never did. But
let's let's think about the receivers that he did have

(48:19):
that weren't drafted in the first round, but they were
Pro Bowl players. So we saw Greg Jennings, Greg Jennings,
Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver. For some time, Donald Driver was
the seven round pick, James Jones, Davante Adams. I'm I'm
just I'm just saying. They keep saying that he doesn't
have enough. But then I see these receivers that have

(48:41):
played at a rental cop at a very very high level.
So I mean, at some point, what are we talking about? Well, then,
what is it? What is it? Is it? He's not
as clutch as we think. Let me have Lee, Lee.
I am about to make you, first offle Um super
producer of here. For those who haven't seen you in

(49:02):
some time. Man, I haven't seen you in a good
year and a half a minimum, and I think you
are Rapunzel, like I think your hair. I haven't cut
my hair since before last time we saw each other.
I mean I came in Bucky. He has it all
like up a little bit, but if he let it
all down, I think he's back in the cabinet. I
think he's at the back of his caps. I just
wanted to address that. I needed answers because COVID, you know,

(49:24):
most people are you are out here back in the streets.
The streets are open up in l a June. There's
no reason for you not to. So what are we
doing with what's going on here? I'm doing the minshew
on Monday, Okay, I'm pulling the gardener minshew. Okay, because
I gotta go get my uh my photos ideas redone,
so I can't be having the long hair alright, make
sure yeah you don't what I mean. I'll be honest
with you, Like I've been coming to the party in

(49:45):
the back. I didn't know Lee's hair was like that.
I had no idea, like it's always up or whatever
you put it down. I was like, oh, yeah, it's
I mean it was. It was one of those Oh
it is a lot. Now. The reason I called upon
you leave was I wanted you to looked this up
for me. Uh. I saw a stat at some point
towards the end of the football season when they said

(50:07):
Aaron Rodgers in fourth quarters, Uh, down in the fourth quarter,
he's he like he's like one in something absurd. Basically,
if he's down in the fourth quarter, Uh, he doesn't
win and and play I think it was playoff games.
He's he can't if he's ever down in the playoff game, like,
he doesn't come back. He's had fourth quarter comebacks, so

(50:30):
it wasn't to come back, so I I gotta find
it said it was an amazing stat basically saying and
like I think it was the postseason that if Aaron
Rodgers is down uh at a certain point in the
postseason game, he can't he just doesn't come back. And
he's only done that once against Dallas and uh to
only two game winning drives. Yeah, and it's like, wait,
a mean, that should be regular for for the types

(50:51):
of great quarterbacks we compare them to. Right, you you
get down, that happens. Pat Mahomes did an entire Super
Bowl run every single game. And they're like, I'm just saying,
and I remember seeing that, like when he's down he
does not come back except for the one time in
a in a playoff game. I'm like, wait a minute,
that doesn't fit that. That was the thing for me, Bucky,
that made it me, That made me start to change. Now,

(51:12):
if you're green Bank and you mentioned this off there,
we were talking, this starts to be something where fans
are starting to be split. Right, he's great, He's still good.
He's probably got three to five years of good to
great in him, why would we get rid of him?
And then you've got other people like man, I'm tired
of the complaint and I'm tired of this. I'm tired
of and not to mention, I'm tired of just being
you know, twelve and four thirty and three and three
and not manifesting in anything. So it's interesting how this

(51:36):
is all going to play out, because at a certain point,
if you're the organization, can't you look at it and say,
maybe we're just a stabilize organization that if you're Brett Father,
Aaron Rodgers will come here, you have a bunch of success.
Maybe we won't win a gang of Super Bowls, but
will be successful and we'll we'll be the Utah Jazz.
We're always in the postseason as might even make it
to the finals, but we ain't really gonna win nothing.

(51:58):
I mean, like, I think it's looked different, like if
Utah didn't doesn't run into Michael Jordan and then maybe
they went and that's when maybe that's Reinbay. You know,
you don't run into a certain team here there were
in it. But at certain point I'm looking at it
as dang Aaron uh And I need a little bit
more for what you just well, just a little bit
more just in terms of this, because I think let's
throw Tom Brady out of the discussion. Because Tom Brady

(52:20):
and what the Pagris have done over the last twenty years,
that's something like no one, no one, no one has
done that. So that clouds is the situation a little bit.
But what we can do is we can look at
Eli Manning has to. Ben Roethlisberger has two, Russell Wilson
has one or two. He has one, but they went
I mean he should have what they've gone. They've gone
to two. Um who has paid Manning has too. I mean,

(52:45):
I'm just I'm just saying to go to to level
up because we've talked about him as a guy that
is in the conversation, not the goat, but but he's
in there, he's in the stable, he's running around. He's
not quite Brady, but we've talked about him in that vein.
He has to get another one to be able to
really have that conversation, and he has to get them

(53:05):
to another one because right now you look at the
line Pat Mahomes going to two in three years and
we all know he's going to another one. And if
that you could put the over under four. Patrick Mahomes
over under. I'm not saying when just even get to
the super Bowl. Uh one and a half? Will he

(53:26):
get to just off rip, he's gonna get to two more?
Let's see he ain't Kelsey. I think I think just
one more, he gets one more. I think it's hard, man,
it's hard. Well, it's hard, it is hard, But I
do think he's great. It's well, look it's hard, but
we've seen when an organization knows what they're doing get

(53:48):
to the run. Got the right people. I mean, Joe
Montana did it, Terry Bradshaw, did you mentioned Tom Brady
was able to do it? Uh? John Elway went at
Ganga times with Denver. You know he lost a bunch,
but he went what five? Uh? So my point is
you when you got the guy, and you got an
organization that's well run and know what, knows what they're doing,

(54:08):
you can get there. Many times that the league has
showed us that, you know what I mean, you can
do that. Peyton Manning took a Broncos team that we
weren't even thinking about. I mean the Bronco organization went
a bunch with Elway, turned around and went again a
couple of times with with Manning. So it can happen.
And I think we're seeing that where you have a
coach who is perfectly tailored to this quarterback with Pat

(54:31):
Mahomes an offense that they know bump with. Everybody else
is talking about we do it, how we do it
because nobody else will want to Tyreekill he's too bad.
We'll just we won't make him the focal point. We'll
do a special gadget play for him once twice. That's
what the league would do. He's like, no, no, no,
buddy is special. And I will give him credit because
I don't think anybody saw Tyreek Hill in that like
that he could be a number one receiver, that he

(54:51):
could be the right he finds these guys. So it was.
It is the perfect marriage. The only thing that I
would say, well he got Kevin cop paid. He did.
But you don't think that will have to temper your
enthusiasm about Patrick Mahomes maybe going multiple times. How long
is any read going to continue to coach? Because when
you got Patrick Mahomes, why not go another decade I'm
just saying, how how old does any read? And he

(55:13):
read is up there like I mean, he's trying to cover.
He could be one of those people who is actually
younger than you think, just because of the way he's
built and he's got the mustache. I'll tell this story
before you're looking it up. How does he how do
you think, let's say sixty four, I'm going sixty even
sixty Uh sixty three? I win on prices, right, because

(55:38):
over I mean that's gonna be the case. I should
have done one dollar, right, I win prices right, all right,
So it's not so yeah, he can get a lead
and go another seven. You can go get a seventy piece, right,
go ahead, just at seven you can probably get seven.
I guarantee he's much more youthful when he's walking around
with Pat Mahomes and Travis Kelsey and and and as
you just mentioned, getting all these guys so they got

(55:58):
to flip They have to flip the rows some maybe
once or twice before Andy bows out. But okay, and
he may have seven more. Uh okay, I mean you
trying who I mean, there are who's really in the way.
I mean, I love I love the Buffalo has been
able to do Baltimore. The undersiner more, Baltimore is right there,

(56:19):
and I read a piece you were excited about that,
very excited about get to that as well. Yeah, so
we have Baltimore, we have Josh Allen and Buffalo. Oh,
you gotta get justin Herbert the charge give some time.
What you mean he's not give a couple of years
last year? No? No, no, he is. You're ready. You
didn't say what quarterback looks good? Herbert? The charges. I

(56:42):
gotta give him a charge. Read the charges don't be charged,
and the clippers be clipping the charges are the charges
don't be charging. They had l Danien, Thomlinson, Antonio Gates,
Philip Rivers, and a gang of other people that was
out of San Diego. That's l A, Okay, that's what
you're right, you're right to San Diego. You can't put
that on you, right, You're Uh, it's my bad. Adam
Caplan is gonna join us, will continue the football conversation. Uh,

(57:05):
and we'll we'll throw this at him and maybe even
throw what you just mentioned about in your piece of
how uh the Baltimore Ravens could be looking a little
bit different on offense. Uh this upcoming season, we'll get
to that as well. Looking forward to it. You can

We appreciate it. By the way, Uh be Gregkowski five

Is Brad Pitt up in here? Something? What's going on?
I do you know what? See Bruce? That's how you
play it off, brother, that is how you do it.
My bad on that. Let's just started all over, Bruce,
Bruce Gradkowski Jones is now Bruce, Bucky and I were

(58:55):
talking about, I don't know if you were listening to
just moments ago, having a conversation about Aaron Rodgers. And
one of the things is that we were discussing was, look,
at a certain point, we all were saying, for a decade,
he's the most talented quarterback maybe ever, maybe if not
the most talented football player ever. And we were discussing
that and saying it. But at some point, where is
the playoff wins, the NFC championship wins, let alone the

(59:17):
Super Bowl wins to kind of justify that, to justify
kind of the complaining, to justify the having the issues
with the uh the ownership issue or not the ownership,
we know Green Bay. But with the front office, it
starts to become more well, yes, we're gonna win twelve games,
thirteen games because of you, you'll be an m VP
candidate if not a winner. But we're not winning big

(59:37):
time NFC championship games, We're not winning Super bowls. Where
do you come out on this? Where has he? Has
he done enough? Or would you want more? With the
talent and the gifts and how much he's complained over
the years, you know, I mean, man, I think football
and I was just talking about Buddy today that played
hoops at Ohio State, and it's like football is the
ultimate team sport and there's so much that go us

(01:00:00):
into it, right, like the preparation, uh, you know, the
the offensive defense, especially everyone working well together, you know,
to win each and every week, and the margin of victory. Man,
it's so thin. So look, I think Rogers has had
a phenomenal career. Of course, uh can he you know,
do a better job of maybe getting them over the

(01:00:21):
hump I think, honestly, I think he's done a great job.
I think that's probably where a lot of the frustration
lies is the last few years. He's like, man, I
am like feeling like I'm in my primer. I'm right there,
I'm TOWRDS g N. Let's continue to build this team,
this roster, give me weapons so we can get over
that hump um. I think with Rogers, I mean you

(01:00:41):
look last year, of course, reigning m v P here
are number one passing grade for PFF. You know, number
one passing grade on throws twenty plus yards are more So,
the dude is phenomenal. Now there is a side of
this that it's teetering on, okay, like enough is enough?
Like are you're gonna show up or not? I just

(01:01:01):
I think, guys, it's it's honestly, I think Rogers is
at a point that he could take his career in
his own hands. And I think he's doing that now.
I mean, and we see the line now the last
two years, guys have an opportunity to take their crews
in their own hands Rogers doing that. So at the
end of the day, it's gonna be what he really wants.
Does he really want to finish his career in Green Bay?

(01:01:24):
If so, he'll be back. And if not, if he
wants a new start, if he wants to see what
it's like on another team, you know he's gonna do
that as well. So I'm more on like, you know,
it's a tough situation here. I don't think he shows
up at mini camp. Uh. That will be an interesting
to keep an eye on. But I also think at
the end of the day, it's not about money. It's

(01:01:45):
more about I want to prove Green Bay is gonna
be lost without me, and I want to see how
this goes. You know, I'm thinking about that green Bay
being lost without him. Uh. How do you think Jordan's
love can take advantage of this opportunity that's presented in
front him? If Aaron Rodgers doesn't show up for Mini
camp he hasn't been around for O t a s.
How much better can he improve in one offseason? I

(01:02:08):
mean dramatically you think about it, Bucky, he didn't even
have an off season last year. He didn't have preseason games,
and I remember just getting drafted in the sixth round
of Tampa Bay and trying to learn Jon Gruden's system.
Those O T A s were so important, and not
only because the reps I was getting, but the reps
you know, Chris Simms was getting Tim or tay Luke

(01:02:29):
McCown and I could I could learn from either of
their mistakes their successes like and then it helped me
get better. So when I got my reps, now I can,
you know, learned by watching the film, by being and
getting those reps um in action, and it helps. And
then you kind of here and you learn the offense

(01:02:50):
one more time going into training camp. Now you get
to go through the practices, you see the blizzes you
so all this stuff is kind of like a second
time through. And that's as a rookie and Jordan's love
didn't have any of that, And now this off season
will be the first time. But now this time, at
least he knows the offense. He's been around it for
a year. So I think this off season really is

(01:03:12):
going to help him. And honestly, it pray helps him
more so that Rogers isn't there because there's not the
pressure of him getting all the reps. Wow, the franchise,
future Hall of Fame quarterback is breathing down your neck
behind you're watching every single snap. So I think for
Jordan's love, this has been the perfect offseason for him

(01:03:33):
to try and improve, continue to get better and see
where he stacks up as you get closer to the season.
Bruce Karkowski joins us. Now, Um, Bruce, let me switch gear,
talking about the guys that the quarterbacks throw the ball
to the white receivers. Uh, knowing bigger than Julio Jones
right now as far as out there, uh making all
the noise. Um, it looks as if again he wants

(01:03:54):
out of there down in Atlanta, had a successful run,
even had a chance to again we win a Super Bowl.
We were talking about that moment ago, Um, but it
didn't work out. And now the thirty two year old
once out, you're getting everybody kind of talking about a
Tyreek Koe talked about could you imagine with me and
then having Julio Jones on the other side. Uh, we've
heard maybe thoughts about the Patriots. What is a likely
scenario for Julio Jones and maybe a landing spot. I mean,

(01:04:18):
I think it's it's intriguing because if I'm any team
out there, I'm looking into this. I want to see
what Atlanta wants. I'm gonna see how this can work,
how this helps our team get better. Man, I could
see him landing in you know, Tennessee. I think that'd
be a great spot. I was actually looking forward to
seeing what he would look like in this offense with
Arthur Smith. You know, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. They've

(01:04:40):
had a great career together. But I think where where
Atlanta's at with their cap, this is gonna give them
a lot of breathing room and you know, on their
cap situation. So it's just inevitable. And then it's where
it's gonna happen, you know, is it Seattle? Does he
go pair up with Russell Wilson. I would love to
see a situation like that that he go the team

(01:05:00):
with a veteran quarterback that's ready to win. Now. I
think Julio Jones says a lot of good ball left
in him. I think last year dealing with some injuries
probably makes people think, you know, does he have enough left?
And I think he does. I think he's been doing
a phenomenal job, of course, but I still think there's
a lot left in the tank and I'd love to

(01:05:21):
see him with a venteran quarterback like Russell Wilson. Person,
need to lean on your expertise. Uh. Coming out of Baltimore,
the reports of the Baltimore Ravens using Lamar Jackson on
more under center concepts should be excited about that. What's
the big change um in there for Lamar Jackson? How

(01:05:42):
could that benefit his game? Yeah? I mean I like it,
you know, I like that. You know, this is the
time of year, Bucky, that offenses defense, you try new things,
you see you know what to work. What can you
carry into you know, training camp. What do you kind
of really want to hang your hat on to kind
of really make it a part of your offense. And

(01:06:03):
I think this can only help because you feel like
you look at it, look at the rushing lanes. Now
look at actually you know the running lanes for the
running back and now the rushing lanes of how the
defense a tax the offense. Someone's got to stay at
home from for Lamar Jackson every time. So I feel
like that will slow down the defensive end, the linebacker
that will bring one more guy out out of the

(01:06:25):
box for that running game. So I think it does help.
And the thing I love about it the most so
is the play action pass game. I think you're gonna
get a lot more solid play action pass from under center.
And for me, you know, my fourth fifth year in
the league, this is when I really started loving those
throws eighteen to twenty yards downfield. And I think Lamar

(01:06:47):
Jackson as he continues to grow and develop in that
pass the game, who appreciate those throws more? Some coaches,
some people think quick game is just easier because it's shorter,
but it's not. I mean, there's a lot or field
to work with, room to work with when you're throwing
the ball eighteen or twenty years stuff. But when your
play action path you're set up is deeper in the pocket,

(01:07:08):
you can almost see more clear, and then you know
the progressions. You've got pure progressions one to three. You
got a reliable check down. So I like this. I'm
not saying this is gonna be their whole offense, but
I can see, uh, it being a part of it.
And then at the other end of the day, to
you just kind of want to continue to build around
Lamar Jackson strength. If this is something they're during this

(01:07:31):
time of year that he's not comfortable with one way
or another. I mean, shoot, man, you just don't implement
it during the season, but I think it makes sense
to do it now and see how much you can
help that offense, especially in the running game. Bruce, let
me ask you, is there any other quarterbacks scenario that
you looked at so far the saw season that that
you're intrigued about? I mean, is it what's going on

(01:07:51):
in Miami? Whereas it too and not? The guy is
uh you can look at now Matthew Stafford having a
real chance to say, hey, I was better than you thought.
I wasn't Detroit actually some noise, but a team that
could possibly go to the Super By the way, I'm
a Detroit Lions fan, so I've suffered for many there. Um,
you know what, what what are you looking at again?
Is it justin Herbert's growth second year? What other quarterbacks

(01:08:12):
scenarios of stories are you watching? You know, there's so
many good ones, Like I'm fired up. I want to
first thank Aaron Rodgers for all the content this offseason.
You know, it's for us on the radio every week
it's it's great content to keep us going. I love
the soap opera aspect of football and the storylines. It's great.

(01:08:33):
So I love all that. You know, Matthew Stafford, I
think that's a great example because we were talking about
him this week and I think Matthew Stafford this is
a perfect example. We talked about it all the time
and Bucky, you know, like evaluate players coming out of college,
you know, it's it's not only do you have the ability,
but what offense, what scheme you're going to And now
I can't wait to see what Matthew Stafford does with

(01:08:57):
Sean mcbigh. Could you think about it, matt to Stafford
is gonna still bring the same consistency like with the
with the ten of nineteen yard throws, the play actually
passed like offind a pretty good job there. So I
think that part of the offense will stay the same.
But where they're going to really improve are those big
explosive plays downfield. I mean, Matthew Stafford has always done

(01:09:18):
a good job with his twenty plush yards downfield, and
I think mcveiy has got to be fired up with that.
So I can only imagine McVeigh being that like matt scientists,
he is how many new plays he has drawn up
this offseason. Then you have de Sean Jackson and that
receiving corps in l A. I mean that's there's some weapons,

(01:09:38):
there's some excitement, and then you have the defense. So
I think, you know, Matthew Stafford of the Rams, for sure,
I think the Dolphins just because you brought up to
a you know, I look at that situation and I
like how Brian flora Is has handled this quarterback situation
this offseason. I wasn't a huge fan of like what
they were doing last year because it's just tough. Like
Twa gets in, he's playing in. I'm not sure when

(01:10:01):
he's gonna get pulled or not. Fitzpatrick goes in, finishes
the game. Um, but I like this scenario now because
you think about it, Jalen Hurts transferred out, went too
with the guy, So now this is to his team right,
So now this year is the opportunity to it has
to take advantage of to show the Dolphins he's their

(01:10:21):
guy for the for the foreseeable future. And he has
to take advantage of that. And the and the Dolphins
on the other hand, that's why they didn't make any
major quarterback moves because they want to say, look, we're
building the team around you. Here you go, kid, it's
your offense, here's the keys, show us what you got,
and now it's up to to us. So I'm really
intrigued to see how that plays out and to watch

(01:10:42):
to his growth this year. Yeah, I don't know if
there was a quarterback. It was like week to week
where I felt like we were okay, he's doing a
little thing. Oh he's trash, got okay, well maybe if
he I mean it was like a five six week
period where you know, like, oh, just give him time,
he'll be naughty. He ain't it? That ain't it? You know,
it's really interested to watch kind of the back last
or the praise of toa Bruce Man, we appreciate you

(01:11:03):
joining us, Thank you man. And then you're right, there
has been a lot of content, more so than you
anticipated in the off season, and uh, that's what that's
what that's what the league strive for, right, talk about
us even when our season is out. Absolutely, I mean
I love all the quarterback drama, you know, keeping up
with these guys. There's so many cool storyline, Uh, to
continue to watch for it, and I'm just excited. I

(01:11:23):
can't believe the seasons, what a hundred days away or
so so. But thanks for having me, guys. Always a pleasure.
Bruce Grekhowski, Man, we appreciate it. Be Grekhowski five on
Twitter follow him there. Uh and Bucky, Um, you know
other things that you could add too? Is a fact
of some stuff that you wrote. We'll get to in
a moment talking about top five running back groups, you know,

(01:11:45):
teams with great running games. Um, I'm just looking at
the cloud. I mean, we can start it here. We
can start it now if you wanna. Um, you know,
oh yeah, you know what? Pause that we got a
hillieright Ralph. Ralph got me all distract to coming here
talking about his hairline or lacter of Ralph or went
given us. We trended it's it's a it's a lack

(01:12:06):
of hairline. And I own that well, all right. You know,
I appreciate you, Ralph for for owning it and and
and being man enough to say, hey, I went to
a barbershop once they gave me a hairline. I didn't
have score hairline. And you the hell happened that you
were raised your hairline off. I appreciate that, all right,
Ralph verb brother. Well, we got some crazy news coming
out of the Memorial Golf Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. John

(01:12:29):
rom your leader has a six shot lead through the
third round. One problem. As he came off the course,
he was informed that he had tested positive for COVID
nineteen and he is out. M hmm, I'm looking at
her now. Yes, As the story goes, he was informed
on Monday that he had come in contact with somebody
that had tested positive. Therefore he was into COVID testing protocols.

(01:12:50):
He was given the option to withdraw from the tournament.
At that time he said no, I'll keep playing, and
he was tested every day. Is test after the second round,
which was earlier today be as a rain delays, came
back this afternoon that he had tested positive and as
such he is out. That means Colin Morrikalipatrick Cantley or
your leaders at twelve rob Why what don't you think

(01:13:13):
they would say, hey, you know we're gonna to put
you in protocol like they've done in the NBA and
FL these other leagues, and they say I'm sorry. They
make it more mandatory I'm sorry, you can't participate, and
they're weird that they allowed him to. Hey, do you
want to keep going? Of course you're gonna say yeah, Well,
because it's an individual sport and you know that you're
you're basically running the risk complaining for free, which is
what happened. In other words, you can say, you know

(01:13:35):
what I'm gonna, I'm gonna get out of here. I'm
just gonna go and and and start my isolation and such,
and I'm not gonna he signed autographs. Did he high
five kids? You know what I mean? Like, that's just
really weird. He was he in the club out like
I mean, that's just he was not in the clubhouse.
He was not allowed to go in any indoor facilities.
But that's part of the rules. Got you all right,
I'm sorry, brother, No, no, no, that's fine. That's where

(01:13:58):
we're here for, is it to inform And right now
on formula we've got baseball going on. Miguel Sno's home run.
That's the difference from Minnesota. They've got a five four
leading Kansas City that's in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Philadelphia still live in four one over Washington in the seventh,
Tampa bay E sends their lead over Texas to three nothing.
They are in the top of the ninth inning Arizona

(01:14:18):
Milwaukee now tied at five. There in the seventh in
Cleveland and nine four lead of Baltimore. Also in the
seventh inning, Miami has three home runs that's powered him
to a five to lead O for Pittsburgh and they're
in the eighth inning as we sent it back. Now
it is Kelvin Washington and Buckey Brooks, all right, appreciate it, Ralph. Uh, yeah,
I thought that was interesting, you know, rom you know,

(01:14:39):
just kind of hey, you want to continue, and I
know that you obviously have the option, you know to Uh,
it will be considered as if you were playing for free,
you know, if they had to pull you. But of
course he's gonna say yes. And from a league standpoint,
from like a legal and protect an insurance standpoint, I
thought they would be like, oh no, no, because if
something crazy happens, you know what I mean, you go
high five kids, sign an autograph, and now you know
you're a millionaire. This obviously is entire PG. Eight. I

(01:15:01):
just yeah, I thought they would protect themselves a little
bit more so I'm interesting to see how they developed
that developing story moving forward. All right, Bucky, we're gonna
take a break here because I want to come back
and throw out the top five running back tandems or
duos or even trios in some cases that you listed
at NFL dot com on your latest UH story. There,
we'll do it next. Bucky Brooks covin Washington, Fox Sports
Radio tells you gotta new him. I don't remember this one,

(01:15:27):
but you know, either way, shout the TLC. All right,
Bucky Brooks, Halving, Washington with you, Fox Sports Radio, Fox
Sports Sunday. I'm gonna yield it over to you. You
you wrote an article NFL dot Com and you initially
talked about Lamar Jackson, and we had some time with
Bruce Karkowski talking about the offense changing a little bit
in favor of getting the most out of Lamar. But
then you also talked about top five running back groups

(01:15:48):
tandems UH in the league, and I really didn't have
an argument. I think I think number one was obvious,
So go so work backwards. Go five to one. Um.
This is what I love, you know, and I love
I love I love bringing this down. Sam knows like
he's gonna hit me with the thing. So hey, Sam,
let's get a started. Where we at number five? Here
we go number five. Look, I am partial to the

(01:16:09):
Las Vegas Raiders, haven't spent some time there. But when
I look at their running back combination Josh Jacobs Kenyan
Drake talented players. Josh Jacobs is a bully with the
ball in his hands, and then Kenyan Drake quietly had
a nice year in Arizona. For that reason, I think
they're the best combo in the NFC West. Number five
on my list. All right, number five, I don't really

(01:16:30):
have an issue there. You mentioned the ability to kind
of have multiple guys who can kind of in certain
scenarios might be two starters. Absolutely, two guys. Two good.
All right, let's go number four. So now this is
difficult because when I'm at number four and I'm thinking
about everything surrounding the inn and Atholeis Coast has been
about Carson Wentz, but it's the backfield that really makes

(01:16:51):
them go. Jonathan Taylor, Nahimans who's from the Crib, and
then Marlon mac who's the wild card. You have three
runners that can get it done. And what I like
about Indianapolis. Their games really compliment each other. Jonathan Taylor
is the hard nose, early down runner, and now he
Hanes catches the ball out of the backfield. Marla Matt
can do a little bit of each. Because of that,
they're very talented. They deserve to be at my top

(01:17:12):
five now before you got now with Carson Wentz there
with that only being additive to for them, With that
change things a bit. Maybe they'll start to want to
out to pass more. I mean, what do you think
that that addition? I actually think I actually think it
takes the pressure off of Carson Wentz. I think we
will see him play at his best because he doesn't
have to do as much. Yeah, he was trying to
make miracles happen in Philly and it was not Miracle City.

(01:17:32):
It was not happening all right. Number number number three, Sam,
by the way, is that you did? You did he do?
Like trying to put his number three voice guy, Bob.
I don't know, Sam, I was saying, maybe on your
spare time you've been you know, quote numbers out here,
record number number three. Here we go, Bob the builder
with the builders in Dallas. Stephen Jones has two running

(01:17:54):
backs Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard that are terrific. I
know everyone is looking at a subpart year from Zeke
saying that he can't get it done. Offensive line comes
back healthy, Dak Prescott returns. I think he's gonna buy
for the rushing title. And Tony Pollard the last year
showed you in flashes that he could be that dude
as a backup for real. Uh and and and and listen,

(01:18:15):
Ezekiel is special when you watch him run. There have
been a few running backs over the last we call
it ten fifteen where I just looking like, oh, you're
just different. And Ezekiel has that about him. He's just strong,
he can he's uh, he's agile. He can go around
and he can go around the edge, he can go
out the middle, he can catch two, he's block I mean,
he's yeah, he's definitely special. Long as as long as

(01:18:35):
he does get any trouble on the off season. He's
one of those like just just play. It ain't him
right now. It's the dogs. He gotta keep the dogs
in the house, the dogs and giving them issues, so
you just gotta take care of that. It's just always
something though it's always something. All right, here we go
number two. Number two, Let's go down to the Crescent City.
Let's go down to New Orleans. Alvin Kamara, let's Tavis Murray.
Alber Kamara by himself would make the Saints worthy of

(01:18:57):
being on the list. Twenty one touchdowns last year, and
unless you were a fantasy football fan, you probably didn't
know that because it was a very quiet year for him.
Three years in a row, we said over fifteen hundred
scrimmage yours. You add la Tavis Murray, who has had
back to back your seasons with over six hundred yours.
This is a nice one to combination with Jamie Winston
or Taysom Hill. I think that Saints doing a lot

(01:19:18):
of damage in the embacy South to to definitely to
stellar running backs and one is just maybe the most
versatile running back and all the football. Uh. I know
Christian McCaffrey would have something to say to that, but um,
let me let me ask you this. Though Winston should
he be the starter? Oh, he should be the starter,
But I think Taysom Hill still plays. But Jamis Winston
makes his off as more explosive because he's gonna push

(01:19:39):
the ball down the field. Yeah, I mean he his
ability to just simply be a quarterback is definitely better
than Tastom Hill. And then I'm I'm looking at it
as keep using Tastom Hill, as we've used tasting Hill.
That's how I would do it for the last couple
of season. Why not if it ain't broken, if it
ain't broke, don't fix it in the countdown, isn't broke.
Let's get to the number one number one who You're
Cleveland Browns. In fact, you're Cleveland Browns and not only

(01:20:01):
number one on this list, and we looked at overall
rosters that Cleveland Browns might be number one, and that
Nick Chubb Kareem Hunt. You have two number one backs.
Nick Chubb is a guy that has been up there
putting up big numbers, a guy who certainly will vie
for the Russian crown. He came up short two years ago.
He was second. I think he has a chance to
really make a run at it. And then Kareem Hunt

(01:20:23):
a couple of years ago he was the Russian chance.
So the thing about having those two guys in the backfield,
one rex the other destroyers is one of the reasons
why Baker Mayfield played so well because they can use
play action. Yeah, I mean not you just mentioned it.
Not only is the running back cord, the running back
groups so dynamic, you're talking about a team with it.
I mean where do you want the talent and the
receiver's tight ends. Obviously Baker Mayfield coming to his own

(01:20:45):
last year, we just mentioned the running backs. I mean
that is a super talented roster, which is why you know,
people are starting to have some high expectations of them.
No longer as it just are they're growing or oh
they may make the post. He's like, no, you guys
actually gotta get in there and make some noise now,
because there's no excuse. Baker's now been in the league.
What this will be his fourth year league. It's time.
It's time for him to make that movie. He improved

(01:21:07):
a lot um from his sophomore year to his third year.
Now he really needs to take it up. And now
he takes it up, and notice they have a chance
to really do big damage. All Right, we got Brooklyn
Milwaukee coming up. Who's gonna be the beast side of
the East. We'll talk about that coming up next. Bucky Brooks,
Calvin Washington and Uh, you can always reach us. That's
again at Fox Sports Radio on Twitter, came up live

(01:21:27):
and Bucky Brooks, we want to hear from you as well,
Fox Sports Sunday and Saturday. That's right as the boys
with you, Kelvin Washington, Buckey Brooks and uh tip off
here coming up in just a moment between the Brooklyn
Nets Milwaukee Bucks. Looking forward to that one. That should
be a spectacular game in series. I'm looking forward to

(01:21:48):
it because I think there's a couple of things to
watch out for in it. Um. Before we do that,
want to tell you about Dollar Ship Club. Get him
something new for Father's Day al right at DSc six
blade razor is perfect for an extra close, precise shave.
You can get on now at a store near you
or as part of a gift set at Dollar Shape
Club dot com slash Breakfast Club. Again, that's Dollar Shaped

(01:22:08):
Club dot com slash Breakfast Club. All right. I want
to get into this series because we spent a lot
of time talking about the Lakers. Obviously, when you have
lebron a d and you lose and credit the Phoenix
suns Um, they were tough. They had the perfect pieces
as far as all right, you got the score and
Devin Booker, but we need to maybe a leader, somebody
who can control temple Chris Paul. We got a big

(01:22:30):
who is is a reminiscent of old school and then
he's mostly down low, but he can handle and move
like a nowadays big um. And and they fall hard,
so you have to give them credit. Monti Williams, the
head coach of the Suns. I know we talked about
the Lakers and what they didn't do. We gotta give
credit to the Suns. But I go to the East now, Bucky,
and I'm looking at this Brooklyn Nets team, and I
don't know if this is good or bad. They just

(01:22:52):
showed a stat moments ago that eight eight point to
percent of their offense, the points for that team comes
from the three of them. And the reason why I
challenge that and say is, you know, are they gonna
be able to just rely on them? Are they gonna
be able to say, hey, we need someone else to
step up. But the other people aren't used to having

(01:23:14):
to step up, because there's always kind of a gift
and curse when that, when you start to want to
rely or need other people, you don't get that from them.
You don't get uh, they don't show up for you
because they're not used to it. They kind of used
to say, Hey, you do you do it all time?
You you guys score, you guys, set us up, you
create for us um or are we looking at just
simply the three greatest offensive players who ever be on

(01:23:34):
the team together at the same time. Look, I like
this because I don't know if you follow the they
call it the Parado principle. It's people account for into production.
I believe Steve Nash has just cut through the chase,
cut through the fat. He's like, look, some of you
guys over here, y'all don't deserve to be shooting. So

(01:23:56):
this is what we're gonna do. You're not going to shoot.
We're gonna let Kyrie, James Harden and k D take
all the shot. That's just insane. Why is that? No?
But I know what I'm saying, that that three that
that hey hey hey, look, it ain't fair. That's like
having Night four or five. Michael Jordan could now when

(01:24:18):
he was fully fully Mike, but Michael Jordan, Larry Bird
and like Magic Johnson. Yeah, that's what we're doing. So
if you have those guys, why would anybody else shoot? So, then,
if you're the Bucks, how do I stop this? One
of the things that that you the way that you
do stop it as you say, Hey, Bucks, why don't
we buck up and start to get some stoppers, right,
start to get some guys we can lean on a

(01:24:39):
little bit. Why don't we get a little tougher. Why
don't we get even guys that have been on this team.
Why don't you start playing a little on the inside
more credit a few things they've done. Number One, going
to get a guy like p J. Tucker the premiere
three in d guy. Right, he's gonna hit corner threees
and he's gonna lock up, He's gonna muck it up.
He's gonna make it ugly, and he has no problem
in getting in guy's faces. You need that. That ain't honest,

(01:25:00):
know uh, that's not what he wants to do. That's
not Chris Middleton. Now you also go get Drew Holiday,
arguably one of the most underrated players the last seven
eight years in the entire NBA. He is a stellar defender,
and he also can go off for twenty to thirty
and he given night and he can also give you
ten assists any given night. Drew Holiday is a perfect
all Star. He's been a one time aster, but an

(01:25:21):
All Star like player to add to your team to
alleviate the pressure of having to make plays. As they
show him right now from honest is he is he
even one percent body fat? I mean that is ridiculous.
Drew Holiday gives them ability to say, hey, it's four
minutes left in the game, we're up to Janice doesn't
have to overthink it. Johannice doesn't have to try to

(01:25:42):
create Drew Holiday. You run the offense, and that was
a huge pickup. Plus you can put him on Kyrie
or James Harden and say, hey, they're still incredible offensive players.
You can make a little bit harder. Um. I like
what the Bucks have lined up. I like that they've
gone through the Blues in the playoffs, that they've lost,
that they've been teased, and they've been after that, and
they've been this is your m v P. Can't even

(01:26:02):
make it to these conference finals. I like that the
Nets haven't had to go through that collectively. They've gone
through it individually, uh, in different stops in their career.
So I'm really liking this series. Man I really am,
and I'm leaning towards the bucks. We don't have to
make a decision. At some point they about to tip
off here in in twenty five minutes, like the four

(01:26:22):
minutes that I have right now, because so to me,
this is like playing in the park. You know we've
been talking about playing pick up basketball. Yeah, well we're
lighting pick up basketball. If I got three dudes that
can put it in the hole, I ain't gonna win.
You can go out there playing hard, doing all that,
with your mouth feasts in and all that, but these buckets,
I'm getting buckets. And okay, true, but you also have

(01:26:43):
to depend defending. And we all have seen those dudes
that come to the court, because we see no dudes
that comes to the court. But I got three of them, dudes,
and now you've got three of them. But I gotta
dude that can file out half your team in your
honest or at least keep them on him. I got
some dudes that I can have your cheeks filling a
little pine. Have a seat. Four minute, right, I gotta
do to Drew Holiday. That's gonna make it a little harder,

(01:27:05):
just a little bit. I'm not saying you're not gonna
get busy. Oh my gosh, that's gonna make it a
little harder. I'm not saying, uh that Kyrie is not
Kyrie or James Harden, but I got a couple of
guys who's gonna make it a little ugly for you.
I got a guy in p J. Tucker and said, Katie,
you're gonna get yours, but we're gonna we're gonna make
it hard and pull up physicality on you. It's not
gonna be all just pull up in your face. That's

(01:27:25):
that's that's all cute, like it sounds great. So I
know what. I know what everyone is saying. Everyone is
saying like, hey, can they play defense? But here's what
I do know. If Milwaukee hits a bucket, they gotta
go down. And then if I'm Katie Calree, James Harden,
you know what I'm saying. Now, you gotta guard me, dude.
That's a problem. It is a problem. It's a problem

(01:27:46):
for anybody. Now. Now you have to guard us, and
can you guard us the entire time? Because we have
seen in the last five minutes a game, You're honest,
ain't I agree with that? And I think that's to
today now it's huge. So if I'm if I'm the NETS,
all I gotta do is keep it close to the
last five minutes because who for Milwaukee is the big

(01:28:06):
shot Maker Middleton, Drew Holiday, Middleton will have to be Oh,
I like my chances. Right now, we're Brooklyn At, We're
Brooklyn Head. I mean, come on, we've been talking about
we've been greening this. Do I need to just we
thought when they who we thought they were, Do I
needed to do that? Just give me a cla now,

(01:28:27):
because the Laker full of fully healthy Lakers would have
been a great since I don't know, I don't know.
That's not me. I can see him, I don't I
don't know, I don't but that would have looked like
because even then, even then they have a d Yes

(01:28:50):
and Lebron. Yeah, it's three three on two. I'm doing
the man realize right there? You do realize, man, who who?
Who's Who's the third? That's who's the third? Who? Who?
Who's my TNT? Who k c P. That's what I'm saying.
That's why you're talking about Listen, what are we talking about?

(01:29:14):
Carry Katie and James Harden. I like that they put
up the battle of the Big Threes. They just put
that up there. I think it was Sports Center and
it said the Battle of the Big Threes. Milwaukee might
be three. I don't know if they're big three. I
don't know if Drew Holiday, Chris Middleton and Janic's are

(01:29:34):
like a big three. That's a quality three, that's a
very very good three. And and most teams would you know,
die to have that man. James Harden lost the fat suit.
He's ready. He who who played their former team more
James hard with the fat suit and acting like he
was all in shape. Or Blake Griffin who was also
on this team, acting like he can't dunk and do anything.

(01:29:54):
I mean, and now he's out here catching lives left hand,
dunking on everybody all over the place. I mean, boy,
let me tell he can come back to Detroit. He
has getting no more Coney Islands in Detroit. What I'm
talking about. Look, I know the listeners can't see what
we're seeing, but right now we're looking at TNT and
they're showing Brooklyn behind the scenes, and I'm looking at
DeAndre Jordan doing all this stretching for who for what? Who?

(01:30:16):
For what? Hey, somebody, I have the same role. We
will sit here and watch. Somebody has to get the
eight misses. That's all it's gonna be from them. All right,
He's gonna get his eight rebounds and that'll be that
the Bucks are winning Game one. You have to stretch
right down. Look, how you know what our next break.
I'm a stress like Deand because we're gonna do the

(01:30:37):
same thing, we're gonna sit here watching from I don't
know what you do. Realize that. I know the three
of them are insane, but there are other They have
to have five players on the court, right, somebody gotta
be out there. They gotta have somebody there. Somebody has
to take the ball out, and somebody has to sit
a pick. That's all they do. Brown. You saw he
said when he and Kobe combined two points. And we're

(01:30:59):
giving those guys love because they will get they will
get rings. They'll get rings at the end of it.
Buck Bucky, let me you you what you are, a
a NFL aficionano. You played, you scouted. You know that
sometimes it takes time to build things. You know, you
gotta go through the bruce when it goes south. Can

(01:31:20):
I depend on you? I know, eat in a relationship.
You have not been in a relationship until you and
your girl getting into an argument, because then you know,
if how can we forgive each other? Can we move on?
At some point it's gonna get tight for the nets.
We don't know how that's gonna Kyrie might look at
the James hard like, hey, man, you know, do something,
you know what you know? You know it's not gonna

(01:31:41):
get tight. See, because my man can't read what he
does before every game he burns the stage, right, so
we're all into you know what I'm saying? He does
say that, right, I think eat that? And then James
Harden is out there late at night making sure he's relaxed.
Who's guarding your honest Jeff Green would have been the
guy he's out, he's hurting. I'm wh's guarden? Yan? I mean,
who cares? This is a two time Okay, so guess what.

(01:32:04):
Let's Yanna stows up thirty. He throws up thirty. Great, Katie,
James Harden, and Carrie all can throw up a thirty piece. Okay,
My my guy in Nest can at least defend, right,
he was defensive player to your n m v P. Right.
If I'm not mistaken, and I am I losing it. No,
So I got a guy who might put up fourteen

(01:32:25):
and six on you, and he's also your hard on
your guys. I like what you did with the word play.
Like that you said make it hard. He didn't say slower.
Nobody's slowing down, Kyrie, all right. And and difference doesn't
make it if I hit the jumper in your nose
if I hit it. Difference is I need you to
take more shots. I need to get you a file

(01:32:45):
truber so you're not out there as much. I need
to make it uncomfortable for you. I need to make
you pass when you didn't want to up right, Yes, okay,
I don't like to take play. I still play like Okay,
you play, you play pick up. So I'm sure you
been on the court where you've heard you reach our teach. So,
so Joannice is out there, let's put Janice on Katie.

(01:33:07):
He's shooting over top of shooting over top honest is
the same height. He's shooting over top of longer arms,
which is insane. Janice is seven ft. The're about the same,
I mean shooting over top of him. So the nets
in for then they're sweeping him. Now they won't sweep him.

(01:33:27):
I'll give him six and then after that there's nobody
who can handle them. Right, So it's just it's just
NAT's all the way to the finals, just nothing to it.
But wrap, you don't have anything to say with this.
Who the number one team, the rated ranked team in
the league. That's what we're gonna We're gonna tune in
and watch Mike Connie and then go against that. Okay,
that's what we're talking about. Here's what I want. Who no,

(01:33:49):
don't who no, don't take my whosman? Who said we
got Utah, we got Philly, we got Ben Simmons who
can't shoot. And indeed, and indeed, I'll give you that
that would that would have been a great series had
had Man, you get all these ifs and butts, No,
I don't. I got the bucks. It's what I got

(01:34:09):
if I got this that like at eight seven seven
three six nine eight seven seven three six nine, are
are you with Bucky? And that is just a foregone conclusion.
Rap that to Nets are not only gonna win this series,
not only gonna win the East, They're gonna win the
entire championship. Now that guy Brook Lopez ain't been getting
busy down there giving people problems? Are you with me

(01:34:32):
and saying that, Look, I'm not saying they're gonna lose,
but I'm not. It's not as easy as Bucky's making it.
All right, I want to hear from you. We'll get
some more NBA talking a little bit. We're gonna go
back to football in just a moment. Adam Cappin is
gonna join us because I need a break from you
acting like it's just that easy. All right. The Warriors
were seventy three and nine and they lost in the finals,
and they were up three one. What you got to

(01:34:53):
say to that? Don't tell me that. Now, tell me
that a little bit later when we get back to
the NBA. It's Fox Sports Radio. Hey, Hey, we're getting
ready to take a ride now with Adam Kaplan, Fox
Sports Radio, NFL Insider Serious x M, and fl Kaplan
NFL on Twitter. Thank you for joining us on Fox
Sports Radio, Bucky Brooks with you, Calvin Washington with you

(01:35:16):
on this Saturday. All right, man, We've we've been having
some good conversations. I want to go back to my
partner here, bookies. Uh. Bucky's post that he did about
running backs, running back tandems groups, and he put, uh,
he said basically that I think it was compretty much.
We all agree that the Cleveland Browns had the best

(01:35:36):
running back tandem and all the NFL, but talk about
some running back tandemsu he who else did you give me?
Give me your order again so we can see if
he approves. Okay, So it was Cleveland. Cleveland was one,
New Orleans was two? Uh three, we have three you
had Cowboys and five was Vegas. Colts have so many,
they've really got a bunch of backs. You like that list? Yeah,

(01:36:00):
I think it's good. Um, you know it's funny. He
mentioned Tony Pollard. I was talking to, uh, the Memphis
head coach Ryan Silverfield, who coached Um Pollard a couple
of years ago, and Tony Gibson of Washington, and he goes,
you know a lot of people don't talk about Pollard,
but they should be. And you know, Pollard is a
very gifted back. He's done a good job as a backup.
He catches the ball well, very explosive. We just don't

(01:36:22):
talk about him enough. He's a guy that not a
lot of people unless you're a Cowboys fan. Most people
don't know about him, but he's very, very gifted. I'm
glad you mentioned him. You know, at him. This week
has been really admitful. I'm gonna starting in Philly because
it seems like the Eagles players are really kind of
embracing Nick Serriani's coaching style and his approach to everything.

(01:36:42):
What are you hearing in the building about how the
team is responding to the first year head coach. Yeah,
he's taken this approach. He's very active in terms of
connecting with his players. So the waves explaining me as
this when when he decided who he's going to hire,
he told his staff, listen, I believe it connecting with
my players. That's just the way I've been and he

(01:37:04):
does that. He's big on accountability. So there's there's talking
to the Eagles about this situation because they have this
agreement that Eagles players and the coaches agreed that they
would have a revised a schedule. There's no mandatory camp
for them. They actually broke their off season yesterday, so
Sirianni got their players committee to agree to a restructured
ot A schedule where they wouldn't just show up for

(01:37:26):
the three days of the mandatory camp and not anything else.
So they gave up the mandatory camp No. Seven on seven,
O eleven on eleven and they got that done, and
that that was a pretty big thing for rookie head
coach who's a pretty young guy, and he's been really
well taken. That that's been the word Bucky. To answer
your question in the building is people are very happy
with him because he's got a ton of energy. But

(01:37:48):
he hasn't coached a game yet, so we don't You
really don't know about a coach until he starts losing games.
But so far, so good, and what I've heard as
the players really like him as a breath of fresh air.
Adam kaplan with this, Uh, there's a report of going
around that Cam Newton of course suffered a bone bruising
his throwing hand during O T A s UM and
we know that he was suffering. Last year was kind

(01:38:09):
of a crazy year for everyone. Of course COVID affected him. Um,
but if he is right, let's just say he's you know,
maybe he is an m v P CAM. But if
he's Cam, that's healthy Cam. That is uh, you know,
maybe some parts of what we saw last season, How
good can he be? And is he really going to
be the quarterback for them throughout the remainder of all

(01:38:29):
the next season? And are we looking at a team
that hey, because they had moments last year And you've
gotta keep in mind that Patriots had a lot of
players option. Now, how good can that Patriots team be?
And is it with Cam Newton? Yes, So there are
a lot of levels here. First of all, you know,
they spent a record amount of money and free agency
in terms for their own team. They've never spent this
kind of money in free agency because the roster has banned.
Last season, Bill Belichick got a losing record for the

(01:38:52):
first time with the Patriots. So what he did is
he fortified the offense they built around Cam Newton. Terms
of their offensive line, they were revamped it. They had
a couple of free agent receivers, They had a two
tight ends. They were really bad at to end last season.
They got some players you were talking about the opt outs.
They got a bunch of players back from the opt out.
So they're feeling they could they could really challenge for
this division. So there's no pressure to play Mac Jones.

(01:39:14):
They're They're they're going in it with the belief that
Cam Newton will probably start most of the season. Now,
if the came of struggling, he's subject to not being
the quarterback. They spent a fresh Trump pick of mac Jones.
But we know here's what we do know. Mac Jones
is the starter of the future. That that much has
already been decided. We don't what they don't know is
when when that feature is going to be And it's
gonna come down to how well Cam Newton plays. And

(01:39:35):
you're right, listen, he he had no off season. Remember
he signed his contract after their off season program was over,
and their offseason program was virtual. But he didn't have
that ability to know the player book, talk to the
talk to the coaches. He didn't have that, so they
and they had no preseason, so the only exposure he
had was two two and a half weeks of training camp.
So yeah, obviously he struggled. It was a he should

(01:39:56):
have been bench, but he wasn't, and Bill Belichick wanted
to how he could do with a full offseason. He
is the man. There's no question he's going to be
the start in quarterback week one, but for him to
start past that, he's got to play well and that
that that's the thing, and then to finish the softian
you talked about at thirty two years old? Can he
regain what he wants? Was well, he hasn't played really
good football almost three years. But the thing is he's

(01:40:17):
injury free, and you want to see how he can
do here with Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick no injuries
and and with this young group of offensive players and
being coached up. Let's see what happens. You know, Adam,
I don't know if you had a chance to see
the statement that Mark Murphy put out via the team's website.
I did. Were he talked about like a lot of

(01:40:37):
the headlines are about the Aaron Rodgers thing, but what
stood out to me was his support, unwavering supporter of
Brian Goodacus. Um, what do you think about Murphy one
making this statement and to his support on Brian Goodacus
Is that real? It is? Because it's funny. I've been
asked this a lot. What would Goody resign or would

(01:40:58):
he get fired? The answer is no and no, no. Look,
he made a bad mistake. We've talked about it on
FSR here on our spots that the general manager did
an awful job of communicating what he was going to
do in the draft. He didn't he didn't have to
tell him who he was going to draft, but he
could have to alleviate the situation as much as he could.
He could have let David Dunne, Rogers agent, and Rogers

(01:41:18):
know before the draft. Listen, there's a very good chance
we're gonna draft a quarterback in the first or second round.
We don't want you to be surprised. We want you
to understand your quarterback and probably twenty two. You're signed
for three more years. We'll see what happens, but you're
the starting quarterback this season now. And and Rodgers obviously
could have reacted anyway he wanted, but for them not
to tell him, and he had to learn through like

(01:41:39):
everyone else did. So the word is that he either
was told right before, Hey, Aaron, we're gonna take a
quarterback here, or be he found out like everyone else
did after it happened. So um he's obviously Rodgers was
burned by that he bothered him and Aaron Rodgers is
no to hold grudges, and that is basically why he
has not shown up to their off season program and
may not show up to training camp, Adam, Is there

(01:42:01):
a team or maybe a couple of teams that you're
looking at, and and I don't think this happens in
any sport as much as the NFL. Maybe Baseball could
be second where a team was just you know, the
laughing stock or at the bottom of the barrel, and
all of a sudden, there, you know, a playoff contingent
and not doing you know very well, maybe Super Bowl contingent.
What a couple of teams you may be looking at
this season, say, hey, maybe it was because of COVID,

(01:42:21):
maybe it was injuries, or maybe they needed that piece
and they they've gotten that piece as you look at
and say, look out for them this this coming season.
All right, So I'm gonna answer give you three teams here.
First of all, if the Broncos trade for Aaron Rodgers
in August, uh, that changes everything their playoff team because
if you look at that receiver corps, which is true,
they're very young and really talented tight end, they're great.

(01:42:43):
Offensive line has been revamped. It's a solid offensive line
and not great, but they've they've addressed it. They're gonna
be good at running back with Javonte Williams or second
round pick. The defense has been very competitive. They've kind
of addressed at the corner situation with Patrick Sir Tan
their first round pick. Remember they did not draft Justin
Fields at nine, which is very surprising. They brought in

(01:43:04):
cough Full the Ronald Derby corner, so they've solved that issue.
Their quarterback away from being a solid contender not only
for the division lead there in the a f C West,
but to be an upper echelon team. So I think
Denver could if they can make the trade for Aaron Rodgers.
I do believe the Chargers are gonna be a playoff team.
I think they're gonna get one of wild cards. New

(01:43:24):
coaches staff, new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. Justin Herbert was
the offensive rookie the year. He was terrific. They've they've
really addressed their offensive line with three additions they needed
to and they've done that. And defensively, they're gonna go
with a new scheme. They're gonna go with the thirty
four defense for the first time in over a decade,
and I know they're excited about that. So I think
they're a team that's gonna surprise people. And every year

(01:43:45):
you're right. Every year there's some we go wow. I
didn't see that happening when Jacksonville made this the championship
game in seventeen, totally out of the blue, and obviously
since then they've been awful. I do believe Jacksonville, and
they're not going to make the playoffs, but I think
they'll be better than people think. They've They've got an
interesting coaches staff, let by Urban Meyer. He's got instant

(01:44:05):
by him because this guy is one of the best
cog football coaches in the history of the game. And
they've got the first pick over on Trevor Lawrence, who,
by the way, is well well. I had a schedule
from his shoulder surgery, left shoulder surgery. He's actually got
fully cleared this week to do whatever they needed to do.
So I think they bounced back. I think they're gonna
be uh not that I'm not not gonna make the playoffs,
but I think would better and people think and watch

(01:44:27):
out for the Bears to be. They were a playoff team,
but they backed in at eight and eight as the
last wild card. They didn't deserve to get in. They're
gonna be better than you think this season, you know,
Adam quickly, what are we to make of what is
going to eventually happen with Julio Jones. Who do you
think he lands with and how much do you think
is gonna cause draft pick conversation. I don't think it's
gonna be a clean first round pick. Every team and
I've talked to says that that whatever stories out there,

(01:44:49):
they don't believe it. They think it if if Atlanta
gets a first round pick, that they'll have to that
Falcons will have to give up more than Julio Jones
to get a first rund pick back. Now here's why
Julio Jones is not as valuable as people think. It
doesn't mean that they won't get a good value for him.
It just you have to look at the situation. He's
thirty two years old. He's believed to be a declining player.
There are only five receivers in the National Football League

(01:45:11):
who are under contract who treed in thirty three this season.
There's a reason for that. Once you get to a
certain agent receiver, your legs start to go. You're not
as explosive, you're not the same player, and you do
get concerned with Julio Jones, what does he have left? Uh,
Tennessee is is in play, There's no question about it.
Seattle is a super long, super duper long shot. I
don't see it happening. Charges will be a sleeper team.

(01:45:34):
Mike Williams their former first round picks on his fifth
year option. He's been slightly disappointing. He's had an injury history. Uh,
new England would be a sleeper team because, yeah, they
addressed the receiver position which was bad last season. Remember
also Julian Edelman retired. This is a team that's going
bounce back. If Cam Newton could be at least average,

(01:45:54):
they're gonna be a wild card team and could shock
the Bills and actually compete highly for So those would
be some of the teams to look at for Holy Jones.
We'll be interesting to see where he lands. And I
if there are some people who kind of are freaks
in nature and thirty two right and really be like
a year old that seems like Julio like he seems
like he could be a little bit different when it
comes to that. But Father Time is undefeated. Adam. We
appreciate you joining us man Adam Kaplan again capitln NFL

(01:46:16):
on Twitter. Follow him there for all the latest of
your NFL insider news. Thank you, brother, appreciate it, guys,
thank you. Um yeah, Julio seems to be a little different,
but uh, but you know, he is one of those
guys though that has had some some nagging injuries, some
injuries where you keep thinking, you know, like if if
he stays healthy, they'll be able to do this. But
the where would you rate this real quick before we

(01:46:38):
get the rod, where would you rate his run? If
it is over with the Falcons? Like was it? Hey?
They got two super Bowl They were always a good
you know, every couple of years they have a bad year,
but for the most part they won. I mean, look,
I think it's been a great run for the Falcons.
They should have won. This is this is what was
there for them even after the falloup. He makes a kiss.

(01:46:59):
There's the games should have been ice to guest that
he made on the sideline. They put them down deep
in the Patriots territory. That should have been a rap.
They get to field goal, it's over. Um, this guy
has been terrific. He averaging five receiving yards per game.
It's number one all time. Uh, prior of last season,
he has six Rade seasons with over yards. I mean,

(01:47:21):
his numbers are absolutely ridiculous, and so he would go
down as an all timer. Uh. The Falcons run was solid.
I mean think obviously you want more. But he certainly
did his part. He did do his part. He was
he was in He was insane too. He was one
of those man childs. Remember him in Alabama. I'm looking
like what you trying to tell me? He was in
high school year and a half ago, like Gary Nick
Chubb too. By the way, what the hell you see
he's on his pictures? Why he looks like a hammer

(01:47:43):
head shark the way? All right, Bucky Brooks, Calvin washing
did we could take quick break and see what's training
with my mad Roper. Well, thank you very much, gentlemen.
And we have two games that are wrapping up right now,
but five games going on right now in Major League Baseball.
They're in the ninth and in Cleveland trying to finis
Shop Baltimore the Indians with a ten four lead. That's
in the bottom of the ninth inning. Meanwhile, Miami and

(01:48:06):
Pittsburgh tied at six as they continue on playing in
the ninth inning still scoreless. Boston in the Yankees cub
San Francisco, and the Dodgers in Atlanta. They are all
in the first inning finals in Andrew mccutcheons three run homer,
that's the difference from Philadelphia. They beat Washington five to
Christian yellow Ja home run in the eighth inning, lifting
Milwaukee to a seven five win over Arizona. Tampa Bay

(01:48:29):
shuts out Texas three nothing, Minnesota a five four win
at Kansas City, snapping there for a game losing streak.
The big news coming from the PGA Tour John rob
testing positive for COVID nineteen. He was informed after his
third round. At that point he was leading the tournament
by six strokes. He is forced to withdraw, taking over
in that top spot. Well, that is Colin Morrikella tied

(01:48:52):
with Patrick Cantley. They both sit at twelve under part
three shots clear of the field. And oh yeah, a
little thing called the NBA Playoffs about to get started
as Brooklyn hosts the Milwaukee Bucks game number one of
the Eastern Conference semifinal matchup. Steve Clifford fired as the
Orlando Magic head coach. Actually, the two sides agreeing to

(01:49:12):
go their separate ways. In three seasons, he took the
Magic to the playoffs the first two. The last year,
the team decided to sell off all their best players.
Clifford decided he didn't want to be there for the
rebuilt and no rebuild here as we just sent it
back to the guys in the top top five. We
appreciate that they are. They are Kelvin Washington and buckets

(01:49:33):
not full. Hey, Ralph, you cant know what else this
trending And I'm trying to see right now on social media.
See if we can get you know, one of the
insiders the NBA to give us an update here. But
the game just started. In forty three seconds in the game, uh,
you know, a couple of turnovers from each team. Next thing,
you know, James Harden just walks to the locker room.
And when I say just walks, it's almost like he's like,

(01:49:56):
oh I left something like it was he wasn't limping,
he wasn't heard, there was no people like they didn't
pick him up and carry him. He just walked to
the locker room. The only thing I can think of.
And again this is by the way, if you're listening,
this is me just speculator is I don't know anything
is COVID, Like did he get informed of something? Yeah, like, hey,

(01:50:19):
we just found this because we've seen that happen throughout
every league over the last couple of seasons, where you know,
somebody just all of a sudden leaves and you know,
little protocol. Yeah, so far there there isn't anything going
being announced. I mean there's just and again, if you
were watching for those who are obviously maybe you're driving
and you're you know, maybe at the gym, working out,

(01:50:41):
listening to us whatever it may be. Correct me if
I'm wrong. He literally just walked away like it was
nothing to pay the the the p J. Tucker gets
like us, you know, gets it, turns around, gets a
little quick, little bunny, and then you're all right, it's
too nothing. Games just started and they cut to heart
and walking in the hallway the tunnel. And he's not mad,

(01:51:03):
he's not hurt, he's not screaming, he's not you know,
it's not like a gang of people around him. I'm
not I'm not seeing anything about them putting out for
the donuts in the back. Nothing, guys, I'm over here
getting ready to No. Yeah, we'll keep an eye on that.
Hopefully um somebody somebody tweeted did hard and forget to
lock his phone. He left his fall with his girl.

(01:51:25):
She was like, oh hold that baby. He was shoot.
He was a coach calling time about why it's only
been forty three seconds? Will I'll be back. He's just
I think mania mania person has left the house and
be like, oh yeah, oh man, the word. It looks
like he may have heard his hamstring. On the first
drive of the game. He immediately grabbed his right hamstring

(01:51:48):
and uh walked straight back to the locker room. Do
you want to you still rolling with Brooklyn? Oh, without
a doubt. This is what they do. They've done it
all year. Now, that is true. It always takes two.
But they didn't play a seven game sits against a
team that has arguably a top three player and a
couple other stuff around. It's gonna take a few, no,
but so yeah, all right, well there you hear Ralph

(01:52:09):
there uh possibly a hamstring and that's what was hindering
him all season, right, was his hamstring? Yeah? Like weird?
Just I mean you had so there it is there's
oh yeah, so okay for those he basically was driving
to the hall very first possession. I believe it was
in the game, and he just kind of like if
you could tell him, maybe pops, and he's kind of

(01:52:30):
trying to walk it out and instead he walks all
the way to the locker room and now here we
are the game just started again and he is not
out there. So that stressing, you know, that stressing he did,
You're right, stressed too much? No, maybe he didn't. Actually, no, Bucky,
he was standing. I mean he was out there kind
of doing it. I mean, DeAndre Jordan was extra with
he did enough. How are they gonna stop that? All game?

(01:52:51):
We're talking about alright? So so there's four three. I
know she didn't say anything when the three ball went.
I was looking at you. I was staring to you
and your eyes. I didn't see that for those of
you just joining, I said, um, I'm going with the bucks.
Did you really say it like it? Like we started
talking at four or six and I said it with
my chest. You know, he's insane. You need more people?

(01:53:13):
How many more people do you need? A right? Let
me ask you this though, I do want to ask
you this. So you you got the nets. I think
a lot of people have the nets. I mean the
minute they formed this team. Many people have the nets.
But I do want to ask you this, um, if
you're Adam Silver or just just from an entertainment standpoint,
once the best finals you know obviously Brooklyn, um, But

(01:53:35):
do you're not Wan Brooklyn so you can say, hey,
just forming three doesn't work, you know what I mean?
Actually the best finals would be Brooklyn and the Clippers.
Because I'm coming out to West Like, look, we can
act like we'll get excited about seeing the m v P.
Look at that. I mean, it's not excited. Yeah, and

(01:53:55):
then and then if we saw Brooklyn play Dallas, it
would be over in four ye as much as you know,
I love Luca don Utah, that was really Sorry, No,
it's boring, but I feel like basketball wise, that might
be the best matchup. I mean, it'd be compelling. But
who's really signing up to see? Are you? Are you
telling me we're looking at the finals right now? Is

(01:54:17):
this the most exciting? Saying that I'm saying, Like, you
know what I'm saying, Like, would this be the most exciting?
It's the highlight of it all. I mean, for some reviewing,
we might need l A to win tomorrow so they
can give us a chance to l a. I mean
you listening if the c because the Clippers at least
you got Kauai, you got Paul George. You've got some
start there. You like, Denver doesn't have enough Phoenix, it's

(01:54:42):
too soon for them. That's the one team that I
feel like it's a wild card that we all keep
saying that. I mean, they can get to the midist.
I mean we like you kind of, we like to
see Chris Paul, but how long? I mean, like, how
long how long before we get them up out the
pay well? How long before his hamstring or shoulder or something.
Chris Paul's greatest opponent has been health. I mean if

(01:55:06):
it's something something, because it is. I mean, every time
he's got a chance to really make a d playoff runs,
something goes wrong. Uh. Well, we'll continue to get monitor
this situation with James Harden as we oh Brook Lopez.
If we get information, you will get it as well.
We'll give you an update on that. Also, we wanna
do the latest with regard to um the other the
other matchups, the other playoff series in the NBA. How

(01:55:29):
do we like who we're Favoring will do that next
as well. Bucky Brooks, Calvin and Washington keeping an eye
on what's going on. For those who just tuned in,
James Harden goes out immediately forty three seconds in the game.
Looks like he grabbed his was at his right hamstring.
If I'm not mistaken. We'll give an update on that
when we have it. Its Fox Sports Radio. This baby
on baby, that's what this is. Look at Sam. I

(01:55:52):
was Sam hooking it up for the last little bit
for Calvin, Washington, Bucky Brooks. This is in honor of
Coatino Mobile. And I had a moment a couple of
weeks ago, maybe it was last week, but Bucky, I said,
little baby is running the game. He said, no, it's
dub baby. And so I asked the question and pick
a baby. Which baby is it? And so Sam found
the baby and little baby with this one going baby.

(01:56:14):
Appreciate that, man, Yeah, nothing wrong with that. I do
wish they had auto tune when I was coming up,
because we all we could let a little end it.
We could have did it. Man, Let me rephrase that.
There's a little different shot to Roger and a little
different shots computer love. When the great, He's like one

(01:56:35):
amazing song. All I really got a few more minutes here. Man, again,
if you're just joining us, started this game, Bucky and
I've been talking smack, having a good time. But four
to three seconds into the game, James Harden, who had
been out all in and out all season and all
of them, Kyrie in and out and just Katie Um
immediately grabs his hamstring and uh and just kind of flinching,

(01:56:57):
you know, making grimaces. And then he's out there and
he goes out and we haven't seen him since, we
haven't really heard anything yet. So we'll monitor that because
that's the game changer. Obviously, losing your maybe second best player,
the third, depending on how you want to look at it,
most important player. Why we'll expond upon that we got
most important player because he's the playmaker. Remember, in the
middle of the season, Carrie handed off the point guard

(01:57:19):
duties to James Harden. James Harden took it and ran
with it. And what we've seen is three guys that
can go bonkers at any point. Kyrie k D James
Harden Hall him can put up a thirty piece whenever
they wanted. Man, Carrie gets to the bucket easy. I'm
just whenever it's just too talented. Brooklyn is gonna beat

(01:57:40):
him by twenty. James Harden is the guy who can Uh.
James Harden is the one who can get other guys
shots while still getting his. He can control the game
in another way and just getting to the free throw
line all day because he is amazing at that. Uh.
And Bobby Porter has just scores babba wah. That's another
pickup that people have slept on because I mean, obviously
not the big household name here. You want to be

(01:58:01):
when we pick up the game, when you pick up listen,
when you pick up NBA two K, we're gonna be excited.
Your dog and I got Bobby Porter's dogs, Like that's
what That's what I'm supposed to be excited about. You
made it NBA two K. I'm talking really NBA and
that guy who just shot that three, who terribly performs
it is all. It's all sent times sometimes the pickups, right,
you gotta get these other guys. It's the little middle pieces.

(01:58:23):
You know, your your Robert Oories, your H. P. J.
Tuckers in this case, you're you know, you you get
little pieces that add to what you already with you.
You know who you are. You're the dude at the
barbecue because that you worry about the big beans and
the fries as opposed to dogs in the burger. You're
all about the side dishes. You ain't the man you

(01:58:44):
were like, hey, what makes sure you're getting the beans?
Dog makes youre getting the beans and put the barbecue
saucing on it, Like my wife, Bucky Brooks. Don't you
ever know me that? Well? Don't we ever know me that? Babe? Babe,
babe with a tato salad? With a tato salad there,
we gotta get a tat to sell. We've got the
realist and a tato salad. Like all lose this. We're

(01:59:06):
for the burgers and dog burgers. In the phrase you're
worried about the other stuff. I am a part of
how well you know me? I am? I need the
a compiment where he gave yourself and gave yourself away.
Bobby Portis. They got Bobby Portis, like, come on, like,
what are we talking about? First of all, put some
respect on his name is Bobby Portis Jr. Okay okay o, listen, listen.

(01:59:31):
There is such thing as great barbecue but I'm saying
I do need to know the baked beans on the
star salad. Are we going barbecue alone? Are we making
this soul food? Meaning there's some greens too, Like I need,
I need to know how we're doing this. So because
I do have something, I'm not a no CD person,
but I have one thing. I mean, I'm sure we
can't touch on the plate. I don't mind them cutching
touching because what I'm about to say, so, if you

(01:59:52):
have let's roll with barbecue, you have ribs, you have
two sides, just make it easy, right, and you have
a dinner roll. I have to have the exact portion
of each one. So Lee, get on the mic. I'm
not alone, thank you, Lee. So, for instance, meaning I
can't eat if you got a half a slab of ribs,

(02:00:13):
I can't eat two thirds of that rib those ribs
and then have a bunch of mac and a bunch
of beans. It has to be a third. Like you know,
if I'm down a half the ribs, I gotta have
half the mac. I started with half, and then to
the end of the play the last you've got it
all together. And if it's a really bad dish, it's
a really bad side. I eat that real quick. Has

(02:00:34):
been invited to the cookie He's been He's been to
too many of the cookouts. Okay, because what what what
y'all are talking about right now is ridiculous, Like no
one goes to the cookout to get perfectly proportioned plates
or whatever. We don't know. What we do is we
get there. I wanted to plate the almost lean and
fall off. That's what I want. I understand that. Yeah,

(02:00:56):
so I can appreciate that, Like, hey, give me a
scoop of beans, no scooping on up. I just like it.
It's lee. It's not that we need I could even
have majority me. But the point is I have to have.
It has to just even out as I'm eating. Ratio's
gotta be. I can't have like just a couple of spoons. Okay,
what are we drinking with that? What are we drinking

(02:01:16):
with that? Well? You know I don't drink No, no, no,
I'm not saying drinking drinking. So do we drinking? Were
drinking sweet tea? We're drinking die diet dr pepper. Get out.
You can't come to the sweet tea sweet tea to
the one you get double negative one Dr Pepper? How
many people are having Dr pepper and the cookout? And

(02:01:38):
to you're gonna ask for diet Dr pepper If I'm
having fagoag it's a Michigan thing. I have fag over there.
I don't even heard it. You might order a tab
number one thing at the barbecue go rips. We agree.
Wait a minute, after all of this talking about but

(02:01:58):
no meat, no chick out of here, Bucky with the blast,
Lee Sam, I see you guys later Fox Sports Radio.
I'm done with this guy.
