Fineman Macular Degeneration, also referred to as AMD, is the leading cause of blindness in the developed world, and accounts for more than 50% of all blindness in the United States. In May 2013, the National Eye Institute (NEI) completed the Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2, which tested several changes to the original supplement formulation created as a result of the original AREDS study.
