Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's camp I am six forty and you're listening to
the Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Just rolling through a show Hey Otani night.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
I mean, it's crazy the amount of attention, but it's
legit attention because it's affecting traffic in and around Dodger
Stadium and beyond.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
You can see folks filing into the stadium, continuing to
fill up Dodger Stadium as they take possession of their
prize and soon to be very valuable show. Hey Otani
bobblehead dolls. You could see that is the highlight of
the evening, really adding an extra some extra energy to
the game tonight, which is set to begin in about
twenty minutes, the Dodgers taking on the Baltimore Oreos. The
(00:43):
gates opened a little bit earlier to alleviate those long lines,
and now you can see folks are ready to play ball.
Reporting live from airey seven.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I'm Chris Christie.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Thank you Chris, But I'll tell you those long lines
have persisted for the entire day to get those Otani bobbleheads. Man,
I mean, that's like the item and apparently between two
and five hundred dollars is what it's going to set
you back if you want to pick one up. You know,
after market on ebek.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
Shere in May for the first bobblehead giveaway for Shohio Tani,
and the crowds were unbelievable. So I knew today was
going to be just as crazy because only the first
forty thousand fans receive the babblehead with the decoy this
time around that Shohio Tani's dog.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
I love that Rob Fugusaki. That's who this is, Rob Fugusaki.
He always sounds enthusiastic, which is what you wanted of
a sports guy.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
I used to see him show up at Dimples carry
okay across the street there?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Oh no kidding, no, kid, Well, you know it makes
sense because Channel seven is close right there, yeah, right
down the road. So back to the fo Rob Fugusaki.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
Yeah, and in fifty six thousand. It's a sellout tonight,
so there are some people who might miss out. So
everybody got here early, including Filippe and Laura. How early
did you guys get here?
Speaker 7 (02:07):
Round seven?
Speaker 8 (02:08):
I'm sorry, oh.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Three forty five.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
I did hear some people that got here early morning,
like about eight in the morning.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Yeah, could you change your story to make it a
little earlier, because four o'clock in the afternoon doesn't really serve.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Three forty five. I did hear some people that got
here early morning, like about.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Eight in the morning. They were lined up there. Do
you know where those people are?
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Because those are the people who really helped this story.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
They were lined up there on Vincecully Way. How how
important was it to be here for this?
Speaker 9 (02:35):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (02:36):
Super important in my season to kint a holder for
fifteen years, so I had to get this.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
So I'm very.
Speaker 11 (02:41):
Happy we got here, even though the lines were huge,
but super excited of course.
Speaker 12 (02:46):
Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
There's a limited amount of gold bobbleheads with decoined show
Hey Otani. We did see a couple of people who
did get those.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Did you open yours?
Speaker 3 (02:56):
I did it again, the gold bobble heads with show
Heyo Tani and decoy and gold. That's the exclusivity on
top of the other exclusivity, which is getting them at all.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Yeah, go ahead, there's a limited amount of gold bubbleheads
with decoy and show Hey Otani. We did see a
couple of people who did get those.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Did you open yours? I?
Speaker 11 (03:19):
Did open it and I was not lucky.
Speaker 12 (03:20):
Enough to get we didn't get any.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
We didn't get any. We're hoping, but we didn't skill.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
But very excited to have them and Philipe enjoy the
game tonight, Let's beat the Orioles and on show Heo
Tani and Decoy babblehead nut Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Thank you, Rob Fugusaki. I like it.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
That's the enthusiasm that you want. It's infectious out there.
Everybody's feeling good. That's the thing about today. Also, it
wasn't brutally hot, so if you were out there, of course,
if you're waiting out there from a you know, if
you're literally there at eleven am is when they started,
that's a hot day.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
That's that's a long day.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
But I'm guessing that if you're out there that long,
you're kind of planning for that lengthy weight in the sun.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
But anyway, you had that kind of life where you
could just devote that kind of time to just standing
in a line day.
Speaker 13 (04:10):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
That's what I thought to this the entire time. Who
are these people?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
They can spend all day waiting online for anything?
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Must be nice.
Speaker 12 (04:22):
I don't know if I've heard stuff that angry before.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Boy, we are a resentful bunch.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah, how dare you have the time and the happiness
in your life to go out there and wait?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Man?
Speaker 12 (04:38):
Unreal Steph's sucking the joy out of everything.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Of all of us. We go from wondering to borderline
resenting to real real, yeah, core anger, that's what stuff,
fush is.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
How dare you? How dare you show up at all? Like?
Speaker 11 (05:03):
I barely have time to watch one episode of one
of my shows and someone spending eight, nine, ten hours
in line for a bobblehead.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
That's what I was sunk.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Gosh, I barely have time for one of my shows.
My god, man, I haven't seen the new episode of
my show. Good for you.
Speaker 12 (05:30):
But you know what's funny about Steph.
Speaker 13 (05:32):
He'll take a night off from the Conway Show to
go to a Woody show event.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Did he get a bobblehead? Yeah?
Speaker 13 (05:44):
Yeah, Do you have a Golden Woody bobblehead?
Speaker 12 (05:46):
Yeah? In his heart?
Speaker 3 (05:48):
The Golden Woody should be a yeah, some kind of
something that, yeah, you should. You should suggest that a
piece of merch for the Woody people.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
That should be something. Actually, I'm surprised you don't have
merchant on this show.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
I'm not surprised to say, because I know, you know,
things are tough to come by, but I would think
through the years it would be some merch associated with
the conments. So there's never been anything, Sharon, I guess
the silence show notes, show notes. No, yeah, huh, not much.
Speaker 12 (06:19):
Ding Dong socks.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Oh yeah, ding dong socks. You've had ding Dong socks?
Speaker 1 (06:23):
No.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
I know.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
They took a picture of everybody on the show, and
it was a really great picture, and they asked us
to autograph them.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
I think maybe before.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
You know, some major listener event, and then they changed
the people on the show.
Speaker 6 (06:42):
I mean, but I don't remember signing any pictures exactly.
Speaker 12 (06:46):
You ever sign a picture?
Speaker 6 (06:47):
Yeah, first of all, you ever take a picture with
the show and sign it a angel?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
And I looked particularly good in the in the pictures,
I recall, Yeah.
Speaker 12 (06:56):
We sure did so good.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
They didn't use it.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah, Well, things change and I still have it. It's
a keepsake, yes, So when we come back, Santa Monica
is changing, and many would say in a good way.
They are leaning in on those homeless encampments and on
all the sleeping bags and sleeping in a public area.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
That's all gonna change. We get to it next.
Speaker 8 (07:22):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Mark Thompson here for Tim Conway Junior off of my
YouTube show, which I mentioned occasionally. I mentioned that I
really don't try not to be obnoxious about it and
just slip it in. I've got a show on YouTube.
Yeah I know, yeah, aren't you impressed? Like everybody else
in America. But just call the Mark Thompson Show. You
(07:48):
can subscribe. We do a lot of politics and news
and that kind of thing. So maybe if it's your thing, great,
If not, that's cool too. I love coming over here
to KFI because this is where I'm most comfortable. Love radio,
and this is my home court.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Baby. Santa Monica is changing.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
They really have an image in Santa Monica of indulging
the homeless. They were way out ahead of other communities.
Santa Monica has built a superstructure, I would say, of
supporting homelessness.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
And it's gotten out of control.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
And people who live in Santa Monica, and I live
close to Santa Monica for many years, will tell you it.
Just in public spaces you see too much in the
way of homelessness, and homelessness is probably even the wrong word,
you see, you know that which shouldn't be in public
spaces because it gets in the way of everything. It
gets in the way of safety, it gets in the
(08:44):
way of business, it gets in the way of a
of a community where you want to spend time. So
at a city council meeting last night, council members talked
about measures to clean homeless encampments up. Santa Monica. Leaders
are considering three proposals, and they are, in essence, these.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Leaving things alone.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
That's not cool, observing how other cities are cleaning homeless
encampments and trying to integrate some of those strategies and
making sleeping in public with sleeping bags and blankets illegal.
Now again, many communities now are looking at this. Why
because the Supreme Court ruled in June that cities can
(09:32):
enforce bans to prevent people from sleeping in public, and
Governor Newsom issued that executive order to remove homeless encampments
in California. So you now essentially have been emboldened by
the Supreme Court decision, and I get it. Homeless advocates
(09:53):
are saying that illegalizing sleeping in public is criminalizing homelessness
and doesn't remedy the issue. Business owners are their own advocates,
and they're saying, hey, this has gone out enough. How
am I supposed to run a business, you know, with
people crapping in front of my storefront? I mean literally,
(10:13):
it is out of control, and it's been out of
control for too long. So again, just last night, getting
Santa Monica leaders to even talk about this is a
major victory. And they are slated to hear public comments
on this matter and then they're going to.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Take a vote.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
They have not outlined how they would enforce a ban
on public speaking, but they've talked about this now and that,
you know, as they say, is the first step. I'd
love Santa Monica is a beautiful city, but it has
drifted a long way from being a beautiful city, and
it's largely because they've had a permissiveness and even I'd
(10:51):
call it an indulgence toward parts of the community that
cannot essentially inform life.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
In the community. I mean, I get it.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
There are pockets of homelessness, there are pockets of vagrants,
there are issues on the street, there's crimes, These are
big city problems. They're always going to be there, but
you can't let them inform life in your city. Your
city cannot be associated with that to the point they going,
I don't go to Santa Monica. Man, it's just you know,
(11:22):
it's crazy, it's aggressive, panhandling it. I mean, we all
know that it's there against the backdrop of the gorgeous
Pacific Ocean. Santa Monica should be a jewel, and those
leaders in Santa Monica have.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
To lean in and make it a jewel.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
With all of these break ins, there are now tips
as to how to handle home security with this rash
of burglaries.
Speaker 9 (11:50):
The number one thing you can do, beyond the cameras
and the sensors and the monitoring, the number one thing
you can do is imagine you have locked yourself out
of your house. How are you going to get inside it?
Is there a window that might not lock? Is there
another way you could sneak in? Because if you know
how to get inside, then burglars will find it too.
Speaker 12 (12:06):
Are you busy these days?
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Quite?
Speaker 9 (12:08):
Don Moore is a certified security professional. His job is
to make sure his clients' homes don't wind up on
the news.
Speaker 12 (12:15):
As victims of a break in.
Speaker 14 (12:16):
One thing I don't want people to do about it
is panic. I would like them to be empowered.
Speaker 9 (12:20):
As we sit in the midst of what feels like
the summer of burglaries, Don says, the key to security
your home is to focus on three areas of your property.
Speaker 14 (12:29):
You start with an alarm system on the structure of
the home itself. This home and all of our customers
have very robust home security systems. And then the next
circle is what we call the early warning system. If
you want to be alerted and you want the perpetrator
to be alerted before they even get to the structure
of the ass We have several different technologies of early
warning systems, the third technology and a lasting Whoah, what.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Is this swadow?
Speaker 3 (12:50):
What are the technologies on the second one? The guy
just glosses right over the second one. We have several technologies.
I'm in the showroom.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Tell me.
Speaker 14 (13:00):
We have several different technologies of early warning systems. The
third technology, All right, let me help.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
I'm sure motion detectors would be one of them. They
have to be if you're talking about an early warning system.
When you see that light go off, so it's a warning.
I mean our host our house goes up like a
Christmas tree, even if a car goes by. Sometimes we
have those lights everywhere, motion detector triggered lights.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
I mean, you have to pay attention to it.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
We have cameras as well everywhere, but that has to
be on some level of the early warning system.
Speaker 14 (13:37):
We have several different technologies of early warning systems. The
third technology in the last eighteen months, the analytics of
cameras have gotten so good that we can use it
residentially where it recognizes the human form.
Speaker 9 (13:49):
And even if you don't feel you can afford cameras,
motion sensors or around the clock monitoring thing.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Well, just to put a specific on that, cameras are
not expensive anymore, They're just not. I mean, I don't
know what kind of high res cameras these guys are
scaring up. I mean, I'm sure you can spend a
lot of money on a camera if you want to,
but you can also avoid spending a lot of money.
So I'd recommend a low cost camera if for no
(14:14):
other reason then you were able on your phone to
see what's going on outside your house.
Speaker 9 (14:18):
Cameras, motion sensors, or around the clock monitoring. Don says,
there are a few simple things you can do to
secure your property and your peace of mind.
Speaker 14 (14:26):
I recommend to my clients to have intrusion drills. What
are we going to do if we hear breaking class
at two o'clock in the morning, or what are we
going to do if we hear footsteps and voices downstairs?
Speaker 3 (14:34):
I that that is scary. That's smart, but it's scary.
I always say to my other half if we hear
anything anything weird, I'll be hiding behind the bed. You'll
be handling contacting law enforcement because usually, you know, we've
(14:57):
only had a couple of things happen, and both of
them in the new house were false alarms. But she's
always like, get out there, what's going on? Get out there?
What are you kidding? These could be armed marauders. You
know what, am I supposed to go out there and
scare them with my bathrobe? I mean, it's crazy, It
(15:17):
just doesn't make any sense, but I get it. She
wants to be protected. Wait for the people with the
lights and the sirens to get here.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
They'll protect you.
Speaker 14 (15:26):
What are we going to do if we hear breaking
glass at two o'clock in the morning, or what are
we going to do if we hear footsteps and voices
downstairs or in the other room, and then walk through
what you would do.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
That's it.
Speaker 9 (15:35):
Have a plan and be prepared. Now things have gotten
so bad around Los Angeles. The District Attorney, George Gascon
says he's setting up a hotline for victims and tips
on these burglaries that just keep happening. We were in
Sherman Oaks last night where six homes had been hit
in a three block range just in the last month.
We talked to residents here at Hancock Park and they
said they came out of their house wondered what happened,
(15:56):
and said, just down the street a couple of nights ago,
another home was hit on Thursday Street. So this is
a citywide problem. But there are ways you can try
and strengthen your property and secure your home so you
don't become the next victim.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Was sort of helpful. I thought, I thought the guy
played hide the football a little bit with some of
the solutions, but have to hire him. Yeah, I guess
is that the key?
Speaker 13 (16:21):
I would think, So, yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, he's he's pitching for you know.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
We were on the neighborhood watch thing because when we
had break ins in our community, and everybody's on the
zoom call, and there are a lot of people on
the zoom call who live there, but there are also
a lot of people on the zoom call who are
doing that which that guy was doing, which is pitching
their own security consultancy, also pitching their own security services.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
You know, there are a bunch of them, you know,
the private security.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
So yeah, I like the plan where you know exactly
what's going on at your house. You're not counting on
a private security person. And that would be my own
personal advice. All getting aside, you should have low cost cameras,
low cost motion detectors at least will give you early
warnings sometimes. I mean, if these guys are coming in
(17:08):
as they are, and they're armed bandits and they're working
as a group and they smash through a dog, I mean,
there's very little you can do in that situation, aside
from those things associated with home protection that are of
a really strong nature.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
And a dog I.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Can always I think a dog is a great and
that's what cops say. Cops say the same thing, even
in fact, I've talked to cops that say, don't get
a gun.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Get a dog. Burglars say that too. Yeah, they say that.
Speaker 11 (17:37):
Once they hear a dog, they kind of back away
because it's they're not taking that chance.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Yeah, well, my four caps equal one dog. Let me
just say that one of them in particular, is can
really really bring it when we come back our giveaway.
That's right, the complimentary eighty minute massage or facial at
Burke Williams.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Oh, I'm relaxing already.
Speaker 8 (18:05):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
The big.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Phenomenal thing that is happening today in addition to shoe Otani,
and I'll get back to the show Aotani thing for
a moment in a second, because something else is special
on top of the specialness of Otani is that I
have been given this.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Really cool thing to give away on the air.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
I almost couldn't believe it when they gave me this.
But we've cleared the lines, and Sharon, you'll have to
tell me. I don't know what caller gets this you
go through? Is it the sixty fourth caller or I
see you holding up both hands with all fingers extended.
(18:54):
Tenth caller is what I'm getting. Tenth caller are ten?
I'm here ten, I'm seeing ten. It's going to be ten.
But the but don't call yet because the phone number
we're going to get Sharon, who's got that lovely voice.
She does a lot of voiceover. She's going to and
she's just I can read lip saying what's the number
(19:14):
again that they call?
Speaker 2 (19:16):
It is again? Let me first tell.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Everybody is a gift card for two hundred and fifty
dollars for an eighty minute massage or facial at Burke Williams.
Like Burke Williams is top of the game, so this
is your chance to escape into relaxation a complimentary eighty
minute massage or facial at Burke Williams. You can book
(19:42):
your own if you don't win this one at Burkwilliams
dot com slash summer, but right now it's a chance
to win it.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Tenth caller at this number.
Speaker 13 (19:53):
One eight hundred five two zero one KFI. That's one
eight hundred five to two zero one KFI, which is
one five three four one five three four one.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
I missed that last part. What does the one five
three four I have to do it?
Speaker 12 (20:11):
One k five to two oh one.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
I get it now, good, all right? Giving it to
just in numbers, now one last time.
Speaker 13 (20:19):
One eight hundred five two zero one five three four.
And now give it to one hundred five to zero
one five three four.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Just the letters, give me just the letters.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, all right.
Speaker 12 (20:34):
By the way, it's zero not oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Let's try to be cool, all right.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
The event I would say in Los Angeles today was
the show a Otani bobblehead giveaway. We've talked a little
bit about it. It's affected traffic, it's affected mood. Everyone's excited.
Otani is a national treasure, he's a local treasure. And
(21:01):
among those who sort of have a tie to the Dodgers,
that's quite special. Is the Garvey family. We've had Steve
Garby and on this show multiple times. Well, Olivia Garvy
is a reporter, a sports reporter, and she filed this
report about Otani.
Speaker 15 (21:19):
MANI, I or a couple guys showed up at seven
am to get a show. Heyo Tani decoy bobblehead. I
have to say, and I've been to this stadium a
lot in my life. This has to be one of
the craziest times I have ever been here, and I've
been to a couple World Series games here, but this
by far is the craziest. The lines, the people so
dedicated to get a show Heyo Tani decoy bobblehead, and
(21:41):
rightfully so.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
I mean, the.
Speaker 15 (21:43):
Guy is so impactful here in Los Angeles and in
the game of baseball. Like you just said, no one
here anymore. They all allowed him inside. And I have
to give the Dodgers a lot of credit for moving
people in getting them in time for you know, the
first pitch. And we actually caught up with Dave Roberts
a short time ago just to go over or how
impactful show Heyo Tani really is?
Speaker 10 (22:03):
It does? It does because when you're in it day
to day, he's a baseball player that just wants to play.
But when you see him impact and move the needle
like he does and has, I've just never seen anything
like this. This is incredible. So I guess it's a
good thing to really sit back and appreciate, you know,
(22:24):
how meaningful of a player he is.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Yeah, and this is note and this is crazy because
her dad was a super meaningful player, right, Steve Garvey
was a super meaningful player, and here she is the
daughter reporting on this, and I'm you know, with all
respect to Steve Garvey, I think he would say yeah,
but I mean, this guy is another level.
Speaker 15 (22:42):
Yeah, and this is not the last time we will
be at a show. Heyo Tani bubblehead. I'm pretty sure
he's here for the next ten years, and I'm sure
they'll have plenty more of a show. Heyo Tani bubblehead
here at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Right on that, Olivia, right on, right on.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
I think that's like the second or third time you
said that today. Is that falling line with the yo?
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Well, I'm going to ask you because you've remarked on it,
I mean earlier for those just joining, we've established that
yo is kind of out and I put yo into
a text and I realized, now I don't think people
are saying yo anymore. Now, my good friend and colleague
Michael Krozer has identified yet another thing that I kind
of I sent right on and right.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
On has a smaller window of acceptance. Now I say
it ironically, but.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Oh yeah, irony always has a longer runway than the
rest of the phrases.

Rancho Cucamonga today? It was good pool weather, hanging out.
Speaker 5 (25:24):
It was eighty six.
Speaker 14 (25:25):

Speaker 3 (25:26):

day there. Wow.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
Not.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
I think next week it's supposed to be incredibly hot. Anyway,
More to the point, what do you do out there?
What's your life about? Tell me about you? This is
like a speed dating thing.
Speaker 2 (25:46):

I need one so bad.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Oh you do, of course we all need them, but
sounds to me like you really deserve it. It's a
Burke Williams gift card for an eighty minute massage or facial.
You don't have to commit to massage or facial right now.
You have time to think about that, discuss it with family.
Two hundred and fifty dollars. Wow, a fifteen year old?
What is your fifteen year old.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Into video games?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah? Do you have to limit like the
video games? Or do you like, is there a governor
on how long or which kind or you kind of
just let him do his thing. I govern a bit.
Speaker 8 (26:45):
I make him go outside get air and sun, and
then he goes back in and he.
Speaker 14 (26:49):
Does what he does.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Well, you sound like and again I understand we've only
spoken for forty five seconds, but you sound like a
super solid mom. And I love and completely sanction this
union between you and the boyfriend. And stay on the
line for another minute and we'll just make sure we've
got all your info. But congrats again on winning this
Burke Williams gift card. It's really pretty terrific at Burke Williams,
(27:14):

and fifty dollars Burke Williams gift card.

To enjoy the Burke Williams experience, escape into relaxation. As
they say, it's Burkewilliams dot Com slash Summer. Now you're
obviously saying, Hey, why do I need the slash Summer
Because there's a summer promotion and I want you to
get it. If you purchase a gift card of one
(27:48):
hundred and seventy five dollars or more, you get a
bonus card.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Ah.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
So again, Burke Williams dot Com Slash Summer.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Coming up with all sorts of things.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
But before we get to mow, let me tell you
about one thing going on in Rancho Mirage. Speaking of heat,
Rancho Mirage broiling in the summertime. They are trying to
get a development going there that is connected to Disney.
(28:26):
It's a wild plan and pretty massive undertaking. They're nineteen
hundred and thirty two planned homes in this place, six
hundred acres and it's a Disney housing project. It's sort
of wild in Rancho Mirage, I mean Ranchal Mirage is this.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
I don't want to call.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
It a retirement community, but it's kind of kick back
and chill a lot of golfers and tennis players. But
now they're talking about a pretty substantial development, and it's
not without some controversy because a lot of people who
live in Rancho Mirage are saying, hey, we came here
to get away from congestion, and now the idea of
a whole Disney development that's going to be a community
(29:10):
around Disney related homes, that's going to get to the
point where it's a fifth of the city's housing stock.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
Those are the numbers they're talking about it.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
I mean, again, you know, Ranch Mirage is not a
massive community, and you're talking about almost two thousand homes.
So Disney has engaged Crystal Lagoons, a company that specializes
in creating these massive bodies of water, and that they're
going to use that technology and I guess with recycled water,
they are going to get a community going which has
(29:44):
a pretty substantial lake type thing, a lagoon in the
middle of it. Again, this is a hugely ambitious project,
but watch for it. Again, not without controversy either, but
it's going on in the desert of Rancho Mirage and
this artificial oasis called Kotina Bay, Kotino Bay and Disney.
(30:08):
They say it will be spectacular when it gets done.
So sounds like they've waved a couple of building restrictions
to make it happen, but maybe in the end it
will all be worth it. Watch for it at Rancho
Mirage soon. Thanks to all the Conway kids. Belly Oh,
(30:30):
good job, Steffush loved it. Thank you, Angel appreciate it.
The Duke who stopped through and took us through the
Otani Fever, thank you, and Lindsey appreciate you as well,
and of course the great Michael Krozer till tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
