Speaker 2 (00:35):
Welcome beautiful people to Organic healthy Lifestyle. And I'm Nancy Addison,
your host, and I love to start off my show
with a prayer. And first before I say my prayer,
I thought I would read this poem by Crowfoot Blackfoot
Warrior in orator. I just thought it was really pretty.
(00:56):
What is life? It is the flash of a firefla
light in the night. It is the breath of a
buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which
runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.
You know, I think sometimes we forget to look at
the little things that are all around us that are
(01:19):
really magical, and it would be nice if we, you know,
really notice those and appreciate them more. Anyway, I really
love that. Today I'm going to start off with the
Aramaic Prayer of Jesus and it's by Neil Douglas Klotts
and it's the original transliteration and translation from the Peshita
(01:41):
version of Matthew six nine through thirteen, and it reads
very differently than the Lord's prayer. I grew up with, Oh, Bertha,
Father and mother of the Cosmos, you create all that
moves in light. Focus your light with the ennis, and
make it usteful as the rays of a beacon show
the way. Create your reign of unity. Now through our
(02:05):
fiery hearts and willing hands. Your one desire then acts
with ours, as in all light, So in all forms
brands what we need each day, and bread and insight
substinance for the call of growing light. Lose the chords
of mistakes binding us as we release the strings we
(02:28):
hold of others guilt. Don't let us enter forgetfulness, but
free us from the unripeness. From you is born all
ruling will, the power and the life to do the
song that beautifies all from age to age, it renews. Truly,
there is power in these statements, and maybe they be
(02:51):
the source from all my actions grow. And I ask
this in the highest good of all concerned, and for
everyone listening now and everyone listening in the future. And
thank you. And so it is so today, I thought,
I would address dental health. I think it's really critically
important as something I've learned from doctor Thomas Leavey, who's
(03:14):
been on my show quite a bit. In fact, he
was on last month and he was talking about his
newest book called Hidden Epidemic Silent Oral Infections, Cosmost heart
attacks and breast cancers. And he's a cardiologist who I've
really read a lot of his work and listened to
(03:36):
a lot of his speeches to medical doctors. And when
he started his practice, he started working with a holistic
dentist who taught him so much about natural healing methods
and I've really embraced his ideas of vitamin C and
magnesium and different things. But I think dental health is
(04:00):
something that we It affects all of us. And I
have to admit I grew up which is a horrible
dental situation. The first dentists that my family went to
in Dallas, Texas was you know, apparently highly recommended in
a really nice part of town, and yet he was
(04:21):
so bad that he got kicked out of the Dental Association.
And I would say, you have to be really bad
for that, And then we had to have all our
dental work redone and I just had a mouthful of
amalcam fillings that are the mercury containing fillings that can
cause so many health problems throughout your whole life. And
(04:44):
I had those removed, I want to say, about twenty
five years ago, and it really improved my health dramatically.
And you know, as I have struggled with various dentists
through my life, a lot of these dentists, they they
may start off holistic or in a good way, but
somehow they always tend to get tied in with doing
(05:09):
i would say beautification work on people's mouths, and doing
the veneers and things. And you know, I've had I've
known of people, and I've had a few situations with
dentists myself that they couldn't quite literally ruin your teeth
and give you a lot of pain. I had one
(05:30):
dentist that worked on a few teeth of mine and
he ruined my bite. And I didn't know why I
was having these chronic headaches, really serious headaches. And I
finally went to another dentist and she was like, oh
my heavens, this dentist has done some really terrible work
(05:53):
on your mouth and he's ruined your bite, and so anyway,
I don't want anybody to have that situation either, So
I thought I would address our oral health. And something
that I've learned over the years is that every tooth
in our mouth, and you can look this up online,
(06:13):
but every single tooth in your mouth is like an
energy center for a different part of your body. And
so if something's going on with your health, like doctor
Leevey says, it is probably tied to your dental health,
it's tied to something going wrong in your mouth. So
(06:34):
one of the things that I'm very, very careful to
do every day is to start off my day taking
care of my teeth really well and trying to keep
my gums and my oral biome really healthy. So today
we're going to really talk about that. And I think
(06:56):
in many ways, so many people are using some of
these mainstream products, and you know, like if you go
in the grocery store, and really I seriously recommend you
doing this, but if you go look at the normal
toothpaste boxes and you have to look at the box,
(07:16):
like if you look on Crest or Coldgate or any
of those toothpaste boxes, you will see on the box,
not on the tube, which I think is really interesting.
They don't put it on the tube, but on the
box it will warn you to call the poison control
immediately if it is swallowed. Well, you know, why wouldn't
(07:40):
they put that on the tube because most people take
the tube out of the box and they throw it away.
But when you're in the grocery store before you buy
a toothpaste next time, I highly recommend reading the box
and seeing if it's poisoned. Because your mouth is the
most absorbable part of your entire body, and if you're
(08:01):
putting something toxic in there, like this toxic toothpaste, you
do not want to absorb that. So you want to
get a toothpaste that is really healthy. So I'm going
to talk about that today and also some of the
other things that we can do to really keep your
mouth as clean and healthy as possible. And also, you know,
(08:26):
if you buy a toothpaste or a mouthwash that says
it kills bacteria, then you don't want to do that.
The good bacteria in your mouth is literally a huge
part of your immune system, and if you're wiping that
out every day with a mouthwash or a toothpaste, then
(08:46):
you're really harming your health, and you're making that environment
very acidic and it will eventually destroy your gums in
your teeth. So you want to keep your mouth really
alkaline and you want to rebuild that good bacteria. So
you want something in your mouth that will will remineralize
(09:10):
your teeth. And so one of the things that I
like to use, and if you go on my website
Organic heealthylife dot com, I have a recommended products page
and those are some of the links that of all
the products that I personally have have recommended to people
(09:32):
that I use personally, and I have one on there
for dental health and it has some toothpowder, and so
I really recommend using a toothpowder instead of a toothpaste.
And in fact, in some of my books, like my
Alive and Cooking book I wrote with my friend Mary
(09:54):
and Dallio, we actually have a toothpowder recipe in there
that has a activated charcoal in it. Activated charcoal. It's
actually an incredible supplement that I take on a regular basis. Really,
in fact, I took some last night. They use it
(10:16):
to detoxify people. So when my daughter was living in Mali,
Africa and she was exposed to a lot of parasites,
and she was eating food from all kinds of places
and you really never knew, you know, what was you know,
what it was exposed to, or you know, it may
(10:36):
have had totally different types of bacteria and things that
she wasn't used to. But if you're ever feeling nauseous
or you have diarrhea, it's because your body's trying to
get rid of something. And activated charcoal, especially if you're
traveling and you're exposed to various things when you travel,
(10:57):
it's a really good thing to take because it will
get rid of nausea and it will bind without harming you.
It will bind to whatever's toxic or pathogen that's in
your body, and it will get it out of your
body and it will just come out in your excrement
when you go to the bathroom. And so it's really
(11:19):
important to know this. Later on, I learned that when
someone goes in a hospital with an emergency room with
a drug overdose, and it can be a pharmaceutical drug,
which is one of the top four pharmaceutical drugs taken
as prescribed. It's actually one of the top four reasons
(11:42):
people die in the United States. But pharmaceutical drugs, even
if they're just over the counter, they aren't necessarily good
for you. In fact, I don't use them at all,
and I don't recommend them to anyone. But if someone
goes in the in an emergency room with a drug
overdose and it could be illegal drugs too, they immediately
(12:03):
give them activated chircle because it will bind with whatever
that toxic thing is in your body and get it
out of your body safely. And also and when they
experiment on animals in a laboratory, and just for the record,
I am one hundred percent against doing that. I think
(12:24):
it's really awful. But when they do it, it's because
animals have the same molecular structure as we do, and
they know that when they do these things to an animal,
it's going to do that to people as well. But
when they don't an don't kill them in autopsim and
they want to clean them up and do another study,
(12:45):
they give them activated charcle because it's a really good
binder for a lot of these pharmaceutical drugs and different
chemicals and things. So it's a really good detoxifier. And
so I do it two or three times a week
just to detoxify my body, because I think when your
body's toxic, it can't functions, and I apologize for that,
(13:17):
and so, uh, I think when your body is overloaded
with toxins, that's when you start getting liver problems that
start with when you start getting kidney problems. So I
constantly am detoxifying, and I've been doing this probably often
on for the last thirty years. But what I realize
is that's probably one of the reasons I stay so
(13:39):
healthy is because I am always detoxifying, And so I
use ben Tonight clay as well. And ben Tonight clay
is actually full of minerals, and so some of the
tooth powders that I like is has got lay minerals
(14:00):
in it, like ben Tonight clay, and what that does
is it actually gets into your teeth and gives your
teeth the minerals it needs so that they can be strong.
A lot of these toothpastes have things like glisser in
them that actually coat the surface of your tooth and
(14:22):
prevents it from taking in the minerals that you need.
And so our teeth actually need these minerals in order
to be healthy, and so using a like a clay,
So some of some of these, like Primal Organics is
one of the companies that I like to get my
(14:43):
toothpowders from. And I call them a toothpowder because it's
got clay and it's usually got some other ingredients in it,
but it remineralizes your teeth and helps make them strong.
And then you want to make sure that you keep
you're the bacteria in your mouth, you know, really healthy,
(15:03):
So you want to make sure you're not using anything
that kills all bacteria. You want to avoid those products
and then avoid things that have fluoride in them. I
know that we've been we've been told our whole lives,
especially in the United States, that fluoride is supposed to
be good for dental health. But I just believe that
to be a real lie. There have been actually no
(15:27):
long term studies that found fluoride in the water beneficial
at all. In fact, what they've found in the studies
that I've read show that the fluoride causes many detrimental
health problems. In fact, it's known to be a very
poisonous substance. Doctor James Sumner a Noble ol laureate from
Cornell University. He says everybody knows fluorine and fluorides are
(15:52):
very poisonous substances. We use them in enzyme chemistry to
poison enzymes, those vital agents in the body. That is
the reason things they're poisoned, because the enzymes are poisons,
and that is why the animals and the people in
the studies die. So you know, I really highly recommend
(16:12):
avoiding any kind of florid in any way in your body.
And what I've found over the years is that floride
builds up in the body like an accumulative poison. And
then in especially with little boys between about the ages
of seven and nine, this poison will build up in
(16:35):
their body when they're having gross s burts. It will
build up in the bone, and it will cause osteosarcoma
in males in their late teens and twenties. And my
daughter had a boyfriend in high school that was just
precious and I just loved him so much, and he
got osteosarcoma in his late teens and died a year
(17:00):
out of call out of high school. And in fact,
that was one of the reasons that I started studying
natural healing for cancer so much, is because I was
trying to find out how to help him, but it's just,
you know, it couldn't help. But think that maybe he
(17:20):
was drinking fluoridated water when he was young when he
had these gross spurts, because he was a very very
tall young man, and so I think, you know, that
definitely could be it. But Primal Life Organics does have
a really nice uh toothpowder that I think you know
these It's got essential oils in the toothpowder that also
(17:43):
resists bacteria overgrowth and it helps clean the mouth. So
there might be one with a black spear mint flavor,
which you know, I actually like this sprint flavor, and
that toothpowder has colloidal silver in it and bit night
clay and then also some baking soda and some activated charcoal,
(18:06):
and then it's also got some spearmint oil in it,
which I believe is incredibly good for you. And you know,
essential oils are are like Nature's first, you know, one
of the I think the most powerful healing medicines that
we've had, and I think it was one of the
(18:26):
very first types of medicine people ever used. And so
it's just really really good for you, and I think
it makes your teeth much healthier, and it makes your
oral biome. It supports your oral biome. But one of
the things I do every morning when I get up
is I drink a big glass of warm water. And
(18:50):
I've mentioned this once before when I was talking about
vitamins and things, and somebody said, you know why warm water, Well,
our bodies are naturally warm, and we naturally detoxify overnight.
In fact, between the hours of one and three is
when our liver usually detoxifies. So if any of you
(19:10):
are waking up between hours of one and three, your
liver may be waking you up because it's dunk dumping
toxins out, and you might want to do a liver cleanse.
But when I get up, I drink a big glass water,
and then I put about a half a teaspoon to
a teaspoon of either castor oil or pure organic coconut
(19:35):
oil in my mouth. And I like to go outside
and water my plants and feed the birds early in
the morning. It just makes me feel wonderful to go
out at dawn and early in the morning and just
kind of commune with nature. It just makes me feel wonderful.
And so I swish this oil around in my mouth,
(19:56):
and it's called oil pulling, and it is when one
of the best ways to detoxify. So you know, some
study show that we're exposed to over four hundred and
twenty chemicals a day, and this oil pulling can actually
help pull those toxins that we might be exposed to
or absorbed into our body. It pulls it out of
(20:18):
the mouth. It's an all Aravedic tradition of healing, and
Araveaic is a natural healing that is from kind of
the Asian part of the world, and it's one that
I've studied extensively and I really really love it. But
when you pull these oils through your mouth, it actually
(20:38):
will absorb a lot of the toxins that build up
in your mouth overnight, and you want to avoid swallowing it.
But after about fifteen to twenty minutes, I will go
back in the house and I will spit it out
in a tissue and I'll put it in the trash,
and you want to always avoid swallowing that. After spit
(21:01):
it out, then I swish my mouth with some warm,
purified water and a pinch of sea salt again, and
then I use a tongue scraper and a tongue scraper
is something I really love and I highly recommend it,
and especially after oil pulling. It makes your tongue feel
so much better. But it will remove any of the
(21:24):
coated debris or bacteria or dead cells that may have
built up overnight, because we detoxify overnight and it builds
up in our organs and it builds up in our mouth,
and so we want to really refresh our mouth as
well as possible and get those toxins out. If you've
ever talked to someone and they have just for instance,
(21:48):
if they have dark circles under their eyes, that would
really be helped a lot by doing oil pulling because
those dark circles are actually toxinstead of built up in
that person's body and they're not getting them out of
the body. So you know, I just think that is
a really good thing to do. And if you have
(22:08):
any of my books, it's described in chapter eleven in
my book Diabetes and Your Diet, and it will this
oil pulling will he detoxify your body, but it can
also remove and sightly stains on your teeth, and it
can help prevent any illness and disease. So you know,
I really highly recommend maybe trying that. And you know,
(22:30):
when you first try it and you put oil in
your mouth, you might think, oh my goodness, this is
just tastes kind of weird, and it's kind of a
weird thing to do, but if you stick with it,
you will get used to it, and before you know it,
you won't want to miss it because your mouth will
feel so fantastic the rest of the day. And so
(22:53):
after I do that, then I brush my teeth with
my tooth powder, and you know, after I've I've done
my oil pulling, and then I do my tongue scraper,
then I brush my teeth with my toothpowder, and oh
my goodness, your teeth will feel so good. And then
after that, I swish around some water that has some
(23:17):
food grade hydrogen peroxide in it. And one of the
reasons I do this, and I've learned this from doctor Levy,
he actually taught me this, But I use food grade
hydrogen peroxide, which is really H two O two, so
it's hydrogen and oxygen and it literally turns into oxygen
(23:39):
in the body, and no disease or pathogen can exist
in an oxygenated environment. And so you want to oxygenate
your body. And you know, all the air we breathe
in frequently isn't really one hundred percent oxygen or one
hundred percent breatheable oxygen that oxygenates your body. Our oxygen
(24:03):
has just gotten very very low in our air that
we breathe, So oxygenating the body can be really good
for you. And so I put I get thirty five
percent hydrogen food grade hydrogen peroxide. You can use the
three percent from the pharmacy, but I highly recommend trying
to get some food grade. The ones that the pharmacy
(24:26):
have additive chemicals to them. They're made by pharmaceutical companies,
and I just I like a really pure, clean hydrogen peroxide.
And one of the companies that I've bought one from
is called Viva Doia, Viva Dora, and you can get
(24:49):
You can usually find three percent at healthy grocery stores
around the United States and in different places around the world.
Sometimes you can find twelve percent or fifteen percent or
even thirty five percent. I usually keep it in my
refrigerator because it stays, stays. More stays it, you'll keep
(25:10):
it longer, fresher longer, and it will be stronger longer,
and I usually keep really seriously at least a quart
in my refrigerator and I use it in my mouth
wash water every morning, so I avoid swallowing this water.
But I put good grade hydrogen peroxide in my water
and swish it around in my mouth a couple of
(25:33):
times and spit it out. And it's very very strong.
And be very careful on whether you you know, are
swallowing or not. There is a protocol where you can
actually put it in your water and swallow it, but
you want to be very very careful to have it
diluted and at a certain ratio, so you know, be
very very careful and thoughtful on that. But I put
(25:56):
it in my water every morning, and what it does
is it helps my gum stay well, It gets rid
of any kind of perodontal disease, and it just makes
your mouth feel really really fresh, and if there is
any kind of infection, it will oxygenate it and it
will get rid of it. And so you know, that
(26:16):
is just something that is easy to do, and it's
actually very inexpensive, so you know, you want to just
be you know, be sure to use really healthy things
in your mouth. And after I do that. Then I
do my mouthwash and I use Thieves by Young Living
(26:38):
oils and it's got essential oils in it and a
little bit of cloid or silver, and it makes my
mouth tastes so good. And so Iris is asking, is
this something we need to combine or purchase already made?
I'm not sure, Irish Iris, what you're referring to, I'm sorry,
(27:00):
is that the toothpowder that you're talking about to combine
or you can buy from Primal Organics. You can buy
their toothpowder already made. But quite literally, you can make
it yourself. You could just take some bit night clay
and you can add some of these things to it
yourself and make it yourself at home. So if you
(27:23):
live somewhere around the world, I know I have listeners
in about fifty eight countries. If you live in a
place where you are not able to get that already
made product, then you can make it yourself. Some people
I know have used baking soda for brushing their teeth with.
But I like baking soda a lot. It alkalizes you,
(27:47):
and I think it's really good. You know, Doctor Robert
Young has been on my show and he says we
should put a little baking soda in our water a
couple of times a day to stay alkaline, because you
cannot be sick alkaline, and you want to be about
seven point two seven point three. And you can buy
the little strips of paper at the store that you
(28:09):
can either urinate on or use your saliva on, and
it has a color code thing and you can test
your alkalinity. But the baking soda I think is too
abrasive for your teeth, and I think it will make
your make your teeth, you know, I have pits in them,
So you don't want to use, you know, pure baking
soda for brushing your teeth. I actually use baking soda
(28:31):
for scribing my sinks in my in my toilet, so
you know, because it's non toxic, and it's really good
non toxic cleaner. But I would not use that straight
on your teeth. You can put a tiny bit of
baking soda in with the bench night clay and use
it that way and it won't be as abrasive. But
(28:53):
you want the bent night clay in your toothpowder because
it is packed with minerals that actually support your tooth
health and will make them stronger. And then I hope
I answered that for you Iris and Jesse is saying,
are these linked somewhere for us to look at? Yes.
(29:15):
On my website Organic healthylife dot com, go to the
recommended products page and you can look at the various
things I'm recommending, and it will take you to their
site and you can read about each product. So you know,
I think I have some pretty good links on there
things that I use. And then Greg said, did you
(29:38):
say not to drink it? So, food grade hydrogen proxide
can be very very strong, and I have used a
certain protocol that is for putting a little bit of
the food grade hydrogen peroxide in your water and drinking
it and oxygen oxygenates your from the inside out. And
(30:02):
I actually did it right before the show. But I'm
very very careful on limiting the amount I put in
my water depending on how strong my hydrogen peroxide is
that I'm using. So if you look on some of
these websites, I know, on the Global Healing website, doctor
(30:25):
ed Group, who's been on the show, I don't know
how many times, ten times, he has a really great
article on hydrogen peroxide and in different ways you can
use it, and he even has some recipes in there,
and it's one of the best articles I've read on
hydrogen peroxide. And so if you want that link, just
(30:47):
email me and Nancy at Nancy Adison dot com and
tell me you want that link to that and I'll
send it to you, okay, And you can always contact
me with questions. I love it when y'all contact me,
and I love your questions. I think y'all are so
brilliant and I'm so thrilled for you to join me
each week. And so Greg, yes, you can drink it
(31:12):
in water, but you want to be extremely, extremely careful
not to swallow that if it isn't, you know, done properly.
And for the water that I rinse my mouth out
with after I brush my teeth, I always spit that out.
I also spit out the oil that I've done my
(31:33):
oil pooling with. You don't want to absorb the tics
that that has pulled out of your mucus membrane in
your mouth, and you know your mouth is probably the
most absorbable place in your whole body. So you want
to be very careful what you put in your mouth
and avoid anything that is just highly toxic like something
(31:56):
that says it kills all bacteria, and so you don't
want to do that. The good bacteria in your mouth
is your immune system, so you want to support that.
And to see Wendy is asking, is there a place
to get the how to make toothpowder? Yeah, I mean
it's in my book I'm Alive in Cooking with my
(32:18):
friend Mary and Delio and I can probably do a
blog on that soon. So look for that on my
blog and you can even put in the search bar
Nancy Addison oil, oral care or things like that, and
you'll come up with some of my articles I've written
on dental health. And you know, I just really think
(32:42):
that we don't need to do any of these chemicals
and things that they put on the market, and really
be aware and look at the packaging that your products
that you're buying, what they say, you know, does it
say it's genetically modified? Does it say that you know
(33:05):
that it's got poison in it? And if you're doing
any kind of pharmaceuticals or you know, anybody doing pharmaceuticals,
go to that website of that company and put in
that particular product or medicine or pharmaceutical medicine that that
is and look up side effects. So the side effects.
(33:30):
I don't believe our side effects, and you want to
know what those are. So when they're testing a product
on people, they will test it on healthy, vibrant, young
individuals like college students. They will pay them to try
these these different pharmaceutical drugs and things. I even have
(33:52):
a neighbor that does that. They don't pay very much.
But the things that happen to these people when they
take these drugs as prescribed is actually what they write
as the side effect. So why would they call it
a side effect? It's really a direct effect. It's happened
directly to a young, vibrant individual. So if it's listing
(34:17):
things like blindness or paralysis, or kidney failure or liver
disease or death, you know that that actually happened to
a young, vibrant, healthy individual that was given this drug.
And so you know, we want to be very mindful
(34:38):
about all these different things that we just pop in
our mouth without thinking. And truly, I grew up with
the like everybody else did in America, I think, or
many of us did, just mainstream America, and I just
did what my parents told me to do, and they
did what the medical doctors were telling them or what
(35:00):
they were advertising on TV. You know, eat margarine or
you know Uncle Ben's converted rice, or you know all
these foods that were processed and had had all the
nutrition taken out of them, or you know, they weren't
even real food. And you know a thing, my mom
always used Crisco, and that is one of the worst
(35:23):
trans fats is and it gets lodged in yourselves and
it's really hard to remove. And yeah, sometimes I think
people like me who grew up in the fifties in
the sixties, it's amazing that, you know, I've lived as
long as I have, because you know, I grew up
on I quite literally used to eat white bread with
(35:43):
butter or margarine and sugar. I would I would literally
make sandwiches of sugar. And I was a sugar addict.
And I had pre diabetes, and I had macular degeneration,
and you know, so many things I've learned over the
years is that if you have a diet high and
(36:04):
sugar and like meat protein. And I grew up in
the South, so I grew up on heavy fried meat,
fried chicken, fried fish, fried everything, or barbecue heavy heavy
meat diet. It quite literally will destroy the B vitamins
in your body if you have them in your body,
(36:25):
and it can cause macular degeneration. And so when I
got diagnosed with that in high school and told I
was going to go blind over my life, when I
started researching all this about natural health and vitamins and nutrition,
I was really quite horrified that, you know, so much
(36:46):
of my health problems were actually a direct result of
the way I was eating. And that's why I really
started switching around what I was doing. And it was
when I had a one year old son at home
and a two year old daughter, and I had carpal
(37:06):
tennel syndrome, I had acid reflex, I had scoliosis, I
had macular degeneration. I had a cute anemia. I mean,
I was not the healthiest person in the world. And
I had been a dancer in a dance company in London,
and so you know, I was incredibly thin. And my
(37:28):
doctor told me to drink sugar free doctor pepper because
he thought it would be healthier for me since I
was pre diabetic. And as you know from some of
my shows where I talked about sugar and artificial sweetener.
I mean, that's just one of the worst things I
could have possibly done for my health. And it was
(37:48):
it was when my dad died of cancer when my
son was one, that I just had that light bulb
moment go off in my head and I was just,
you know, like amazed that, you know, that program, my
dad had done everything the doctors had told him to
do because you know, faithfully, and he had still died.
(38:09):
And then my doctor died of cancer about the exact
same time, and I just thought, that program doesn't work,
and I'm going to just research health and nutrition myself
and see what I can find out. And I didn't
know what kind of pathway I was embarking on at all,
and so I told my husband, you know, this is
what I'm going to do. And then I started reading
(38:33):
about the new farming practices where they were feeding these animals,
you know, so unhealthily that they had to give them
antibiotics to keep them alive. They were keeping them in
such horrific conditions where they couldn't move around, they couldn't
get fresh air or sunshine. It was it was really
quite horrifying to see some of the pictures in this
(38:55):
life magazine article I was reading, and you know how
they gave him all these vaccines and antibiotics, and then
they also were giving a genetically modified feed, and I
was just so horrified, and I thought, I just don't
want to participate in harming animals anymore. So I became
(39:19):
a plant based eater, and I decided to raise my
children that way. And and my husband is like, well,
you're going to have to get a doctor because our
insurance is going to demand you go to a doctor
every year. And so I hired a new doctor, and
I told her that I was going to research health
(39:39):
and nutrition and I was going to race my children
as healthy as I could. And she looked at me
and said, well, I will be happy to help you
when I can. But I did not learn anything about
nutrition when I was in medical school. And I said, okay, well,
I'll keep you posted, but I'm going to show up
once a year. I was like, you to tell me
(40:01):
if I look like I have just lost my mind
or I'm doing the wrong thing. And as I embarked
on this journey of learning about real food and nutrition
and things, I reversed quite literally all of my health
challenges over about the next year and a half. And
(40:22):
with the scoliosis, that took a little longer because I
used my dance to build up my core, and I
went to a chiropractor and I did massage therapy as well,
and I think I've pretty much straightened out my back
and avoided any kind of surgery or being in a brace,
(40:42):
and I don't have any pain in my back anymore.
And what really surprised me and my doctor is that
my acute anemia just went away. And here I've been.
My parents had been forcing me to eat things like
liver all my life and all these different things to
build up my blood. And it was when I became
a vegetarian that I really actually, you know, healed myself
(41:08):
from that. And that really was surprising. But what I
started learning as I was married to an environmental trial lawyer,
was I was learning about toxins in the environment and detoxification.
And then as I was researching nutrition, and this is
way back before computers, I was at the library. I
(41:30):
was reading books and reading books like Neil Bernard's books,
and I was learning about nutrition and what people don't
may not realize. And this surprised me is that the
FDA recommendations for how many nutrients you need today is
only to barely keep a prisoner of war alive? Is
(41:54):
it for the regular everyday person who wants to thrive? So,
you know, I started really buying more nutritious food. I
started looking for organic. It was about that time I
read this really extensive article about genetically modified foods and
how that these plants, a lot of the plants didn't
(42:17):
have any nectar in the flower. There was no there's
no fragrance. If you've ever been in a flores shop,
a lot of the flowers now are grown for beauty
and they're hybridized or genetically modified, and there's no fragrance.
And I think fragrance is one of the most wonderful
things about flowers. And so these plants that they were
(42:40):
planting in great numbers in these corporate farms that are
genetically modified, the flowers have no nectar and them so
all the bumblebees were actually dying of starvation. And I thought,
oh my heavens, this is not a good thing. So
I joined seed exchanges. I started buying organic seeds, and uh,
(43:00):
heirloom seeds. Heirloom seeds mean they're you know, they're really
ancient seeds that are super healthy. So those are really
actually even better. And I was buying those, and my
children and I were growing gardens every year, and so
we were growing organic food that had had this the fragrance,
(43:21):
and you know, we're supporting the web of life, and
I feel like that food is just so much better
for us because these genetically modified seeds actually have like
poisons built right into them, like BT toxin or a
NIA nicotinoid poison, and they do that to kill the
(43:45):
insects and things on the plant. The Canadian studies and
some of the Japanese studies on these on these foods
and these plants, they don't do the studies in the
United States, which I think is really interesting, or at
least that they don't publish them if they do. But
the studies I've read show that if an animal is
(44:06):
eating this genetically modified like for instance, the BT corn
that has the BT toxin built into it, that actually
will eat holes. Make if the insect eats that plant,
it actually eats hold in their stomach and they will die. Well.
The studies in Canadas said that you know, if the
cow is eating that and it's eating hole, it is
(44:28):
eating holes in its stomach as well. If it's eating
that corn from that plant, and if you eat that
cow and you eat that cow's meat after he's eaten
BT talks in corn, then it's eating holes in your stomach.
And if you think about it, in the United States,
there are so many people today that have gut problems
(44:49):
and leaky gut and different things, and I think a
lot of it is tied to these genetically modified plants.
And so anyway, I you know, go organic. And I'm
sorry I kind of got off by subject of oral health,
but I really seriously believe oral health is one of
the best things you do. And when doctor Levy was
(45:12):
working for the Holistic Dentist, one of the things that
dentists would do when he did any kind of procedure
on a person, he would put them on a Vitamin
CIV while he was working on them, and they would
feel better after the procedure than they did before the procedure.
(45:35):
And like doctor Levy has taught us when he's been
on the show, and he wrote the book Curing the
Uncurable with Vitamin C, he has taught us that vitamin
C escorts the toxins out of your body out of
the cell, and so you want to make sure you're
getting enough vitamin C every day. So after I do
my oil pulling and I clean my teeth and I
(45:58):
do my tongue scraper, excuse me, and drink that warm
water flesh all the toxins out of my internal organs.
And that's what the warm water will do, And it
will flesh those toxins right out of your like your
kidneys or your liver. And I think so many people's
health problems are a result of toxic overload of their
(46:20):
liver and their kidneys. But I always try to eat
a piece of fruit, you know, something like an orange
or a grapefruit or a kiwi or an apple or
something that's really high in vitamin C and fiber and
all the nutrients that you know are going to help
me be healthier during the day. So I'm so sorry
it's already gotten to the end of the show, and
(46:41):
I just surprised the time goes so fast. And I'm
so grateful for all of you sharing your valuable time
with me. I'm so thrilled to be here with you
and share some of my thoughts on these things. And
I truly hope that they help you and your family
live a really, really healthy, wonderful life. And you know,
(47:05):
it's funny Christmas is coming up in different holidays where
you buy presents for people for like their birthday, And
to tell you the truth, this is the kind of
thing I give my family for your special occasions is
I give them healthy products for them to use, like
the mouthwash or the tooth powders. And one of those
(47:27):
tooth powders is I think bubble gum flavor and I
get that for my grandkids, or I don't get peppermint
peppermint for Christmas peppermint flavor, and it's just really great.
So I love y'all. I look forward to talking to
y'all next week. And you know, as you go through
your life and you connect with everyone around you, just
(47:48):
remember to add that main ingredient, and that main ingredient
is always love. Though APPE Day designations AT disappointed to
(48:11):
the extent the studies at
