at download Yep. You know we were together at Aftershock
and we couldn't be much farther from there exactly.

Yeah, and we almost didn't make it, but we're here.

Oh. I had the same problem.

I was to a Milwaukee metalfest and it was flying
Milwaukee layover, Chicago layover, Dublin. And when we got when
I got to Milwaukee, they had a delay, an hour
and a half delay, and I'm thinking myself. And then
at the gate, the girl like she knew what was up,

but she couldn't tell me. So she was like, you
should take this bus to Chicago O'Hare. And I'm like, really,
She's like if it were me, and she kept saying
it like she was saying, listen to me, I'm telling
you the flights can get canceled.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
But she didn't say that, so I did.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
I paid for a bus, went to Chicago O'Hare and
I saw while I was on the bus.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Flight canceled.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Oh wow.

And then I got the O'Hare and not only did
they cancel the flight, but they rebooked me. So I'm
trying to go through TSA pre check. I can't because
they booked me to flight to Philadelphia and then to
Dublin the next day.

Oh wow.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
So I had to get on the phone with them
stand online and luckily I got here. But if I
never took it, because I have rebooked me, if I
never took that bus, I wouldn't have made it to download.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Wow.

Yeah, we had not the exact situation, but they we
woke up at you know, I woke up to our
flight being canceled then being rebooked at the same time
at the same airport.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Everything was the same. But then we got there late
and we.

Needed these ETA things yeah, which we had no idea about.
And luckily we had a helpful agent and she pushed
it through. And then when it was like we were
honestly like two minutes away from being.

Canceled and then the flight got delayed.

Then we was like okay, we were able to go
back there and grab a drink or two to try
to take the edge off and luckily we made it.

So see that's when the delay is good.

Oh it was great. I was praying for it and
it happened. So it was like, you know, for once
it worked in our favor.

For that, I love it. And now you're here. Have
you guys ever played Download?

We did the first one in two thousand and three.
We were on the main stage. Wow, So yeah, it's
for us. It's always cool to be here because I'm
a kid of the eighties, so I remember Monsters of Rock,
Castle Donington all that stuff. So yeah, it's always been
a dream. So and I never thought we played again,
So to get to do it a second time is just,

you know, so perfect.

How do you find it different or not different from
two thousand and three?
Speaker 4 (03:10):
You know it both times so far was just go, go,
go go. So I haven't had a chance to like
experience anything. Yeah, we were on main stage last time
and we had some you know, internal band problems. We
had to fly home right like right after our set.
We flew home and canceled the whole tour. But we
were able to do Download, which was cool. But I
(03:31):
haven't really seen much this time, and we got here
still a little loopy from the flight. So we took
a little nap and now now I'm ready to take
it in there.

It is so since you're from the eighties, I don't
remember if I showed you this that after Shock, did.

I I think you did? Yeah, you did, Okay, I
wanted to make sure.

Yeah, I had one other band that they were like,
did you bring your vest with you?

So after now we got the three more shows with
Drowning Pool coming up this week, Nice and Silly Goose
I believe is opening those which we haven't.

We haven't met those guys yet. We've heard good things.

Yeah, And then we go home and we have a
five week tour with Non Point and Headpe, Nice, and
then in October we come back to the UK for
Skindred Al and f Farm, Spine, Shank and Orgy.

So that's cool, that's a bad us.

And we'll also be doing Europe with again our buddies
in Headpe.

So uh, we got a busy year.

Now do you know the story of Silly Goose I don't, okay,
So I can't remember which Wimmor Festival it was. I'm
thinking I don't even know. I'm not even good guess,
but I can't remember. But Silly Goose did the old
school punk thing and they were like on this tour

that wasn't a tour.

They would take their trailer and go, oh place.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah was that them?

Okay, that was them.

So they showed up and they were playing in the
parking lot of one of the Wimmer festivals, and Wimmer
was out there watching, just like his arms folded watching.
Next day they played one of the stages.

Wow, that was either gonna be really good or really
bad for the right. It's good for them though. That's
you know what a way to take your future in
your own hands.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I know, right, that's amazing and that, you know, both
being from the eighties, that is an old school thing
to do. You do shit like that, like sure, then
you know now, well he did get arrested one time
doing it.

Yeah, there was a lot of that going around.

But I think he's like the Wendyo Williams Jim Morrison
of the twenty twenty six, Jackson Leeppinger.

Their their name's getting out there, so, you know, and
I've seen them, and they're they're gonna be.

and System of a down cole Chamber and we're still
all friends to this day.

So who was your favorite band to play with all
these years?

I mean depending on what type of favorite, like what
type of fun or I mean, for me, Iron Maiden
was a big one. Slayer was a big one, just
because of what they meant to me as you know,
growing up. But uh, yeah, I'd have to say those guys.
I mean I always wanted to tour with Molly Crue
because you know, when I was ten years old that

was ever too fast for a love was everything to me.
But uh yeah, just the being able to be on
stage with the idols of mine was really cool.

It's a trip, right when you get to that point
where you're like on their level, I'm an imposter.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I have imposter syndrome all the way.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
I shouldn't be here, and at any moment they're gonna
find out and kick me out. But in the meantime,
it's like, cool, we got to play with Maiden and
Slayer and Metallica was here last time we.

Did it, so it's you know, it's.

This whole spine chek things has gotten way bigger and
given me more experiences in my life than I ever
thought possible. So you know, it's a great And now
my son's playing guitar with us, so even.

Like that's the difference between now in the eighties, Like
I'll bring my kids, my grandkids to festivals. Sometimes my
dad would never gone through it. He used to call
us we were the Motley Crew, and I you know,
it's fine. I've been talking about this. I would never

in the eighties gone and see a band my age,
like you.

Know, yeah, it's it's it's so weird because what I
was thinking about, so we're out celebrating twenty five years
of the height of callousness.

Twenty five years ago was like led Zeppelin, who were
classic rock, who were still great, but it was.

A whole different world.

Now it's like if hyda Callausis came out now, it
wouldn't be some weird thing. It would it would sound just,
you know, similar to releases that are coming out right now.
So it's it's crazy that that. And we are seeing kids,
and we're seeing families, fathers and sons, and we're seeing
these like young kids that are like seemed to sing

every song, every lyric and we're like how, And you know,
it's the parents. And I relate to it because my
son he was on tour with us when he was little.
He was almost every Spishank tour and now now he's
our guitar player. So it's like it's full circle and
it's you know, it's great and it's cool to see
parents showing their kids good music because a lot of
the music now and I know I sound like an

old grizzled grandfather, but it sucks, so it's good that
you know, parents are keeping rock music alive and metal
it's it's you know, it's dying.

Twenty five years ago was like led Zeppelin, who were
classic rock, who were still great, but it was.

Now it's like if hyda Callausis came out now, it
wouldn't be some weird thing. It would it would sound just,
you know, similar to releases that are coming out right now.
So it's it's crazy that that. And we are seeing kids,
and we're seeing families, fathers and sons, and we're seeing
these like young kids that are like seemed to sing

every song, every lyric and we're like how, And you know,
it's the parents. And I relate to it because my
son he was on tour with us when he was little.
He was almost every Spishank tour and now now he's
our guitar player. So it's like it's full circle and
it's you know, it's great and it's cool to see
parents showing their kids good music because a lot of
the music now and I know I sound like an

old grizzled grandfather, but it sucks, so it's good that
you know, parents are keeping rock music alive and metal
it's it's you know, it's dying.
