Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hi, you have done to censure.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Wow for you young.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures of
Pipe Man W four C Y Radio. And once again
I'm here with our resident expert with some powerful business
strategies on the Positively pipe Man segment with the Adventures
of Pipe Man here on W four C Y Radio.
So let's welcome to the show. Michael Barbarita from Next
Step CFO.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
How are you, fantastic date, Thanks for having me again.
So today we're gonna talk about mindset.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
My favorite subject.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
You know, a couple of weeks ago, I talked about
the critical six things that you have to have to
have if you're going to scale and grow your business,
and one of them was mindset, and it's probably one
of it's clearly one of the most difficult things that

(01:12):
a business owner has to face because the mindset that
it took to go from zero to two hundred and
fifty thousand, as an example, it's a completely different mindset
needed to go from two fifty to a million and
a million to three million. And part of that mindset
is less reliance on you part of it.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, And.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
The other thing that's so important is that in order
to grow, you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable because
mindset changes in mindset that are required to grow are uncomfortable,
just totally uncomfortable. And if you're comfortable right now, you're

(01:59):
probably not growing. And so I have clients, for example,
that are real comfortable where they are. The problem is
if you know, business declines and so forth, you know,
they they've got to deal with that because they're not growing,

(02:20):
and they're going to deal with that stress. But all
in all, they're comfortable because they don't have to hire
employees necessarily, they don't have to change what they're doing necessarily,
and they they're able to get referrals to grow their

(02:41):
you know, to not grow their business, but to maintain
status quo, and everything's just running along and they're comfortable. Yeah,
and that's not a good place for a business owner
to be. You have to get comfortable being uncomfortable because
in order to go from that two fit, if you
do a million or a million to three million, there's

(03:03):
a lot of changes that you have to make, and
changes uncomfortable. Change is really uncomfortable, and it's uncomfortable for.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
A lot of business owners.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
But unless they can get uncomfortable and be comfortable with
that discomfort, they're not going to grow, they're not going
to progress, they're not going to be able to get
out of their own way, and their business is going
to stagnate. Which the problem with stagnating businesses is inflation.

(03:32):
You know, it's it's and maybe they can increase their
prices according to inflation and so forth, but normal, normally
comfortable business owners who don't really want to change their
mindset to grow don't even increase prices.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
M hm. So you know, because they're comfortable doing what
they're doing.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Yeah, that you don't succeed in comfort.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
That's the that's the issue. That is the issue of
the show. That's the problem that business owners have. There's
a lot of when when when they stop working with me,
they stop getting uncomfortable, and I tell them in advance,
I said, you're going to be uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
If you want to grow, you're going to be uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
And uh, it's you know, because there's things that you
have to do that are are different than what you've
been doing in order for you to implement business and
financial strategies that your competition isn't doing, which is basically
what we help business owners with. In a nutshell, it's
going to be uncomfortable because it's change. Yeah, and change

(04:37):
is uncomfortable, and it's going against the grain a little bit.
If you're just copying your competition, that doesn't feel like
you're going against the grain. But when you do something
different than your competitives, that feels like it's going against
the grain.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I mean the mindset that we had to have when
we did a risk reversal where skeater ski three times,
you don't like it, bring it back for a bri
new pair that took. That took a shift in mindset
because the employees didn't like it. Their mindset was always,
you know, the same, and so they didn't like it.
But it was it's up to the ownership to make
the decision to implement something like that and take you know,

(05:18):
take the calculated risk. And it's uncomfortable, and no one
else is doing it, and it's uncomfortable and and and there's.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
A school of thought out there. If no one else
is doing it, then it can't be good.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
That's usually when companies come out of nowhere and blow
away everybody. Right, that's right, you know, And I think
mindset is important in every aspect of life, no matter
what you're doing, because your mindset will also determine what
happens next, whether it be limiting beliefs or success. You know,

(05:56):
and even in simple little things that you would think matter.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Business owner's minds are full of fear, doubt, limiting beliefs.
As you mentioned excuses, So fear doubt, excuses, limited beliefs,
these are all These are the mindset ships that I
have to help business owners with in order to implement
the strategies that the competition isn't doing that's going to
allow them to get.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
To the next level exactly. And like I'll even give
a personal example of how it works because it just
came up in conversation last night when I was at
a restaurant and talking to the people next to me
because the hockey game was on, and a few years ago,
well was with my skating coach. I was he said

(06:49):
something to me that I took as a compliment that
was not a compliment, and he was like, you never
fall And I'm like thanks, and he's like, no, thank you.
Because the fact is is if you're not following, that
means you're not taking a risk and you're never going
to get better, right, and that that really is true

(07:13):
of anything you do in life, business or personal. You
that's why they always say.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
No risk, no reward, right, And sometimes it doesn't work out,
and that's.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Okay exactly, but maybe it works out in a better
way that you take that risk, you find out it failed,
and so now you try different risks that does succeed, right,
that's my opinion.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah, no, I totally agree with that.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
You find you know, one you find out one way
that doesn't work, so that you can have another opportunity
to What does.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
I mean, Let's look at perfect example post its. Post
Its are like one of the biggest mistakes that ever
happened in history that became one of the biggest successes ever.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
You know.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Yeah, they were trying to make the strong longest glue
on Earth and it ended up into post its instead
of the strongest glue on Earth. So you know, you
gotta take those risks. You look at inventors. You know
Edison he failed at like at least a thousand inventions
before he invented the light bulb.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Believable.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, I know, that's absolutely and you know I forgot
how many times he failed. There's a recorded number of
how many times he failed.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Right, Well, look at and look at KFC. Colonel Sanders
went across the whole country, went to a thousand different
places and got turned down before KFC was.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Born one thousand and nine, to be exact, he got.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
See and Ray Ray Kroc another story and look at
this b You take those two people alone and they
were like sixty five sixty six at the time, which
mindset withold the you're not going to create one of
the biggest successes of your life at that stage in life, right,

(09:06):
But there it is, and it happens quite.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Hard, that's right, colonel. So that seventy two wow, yeah,
but he started it, but he got tracked. His traction
began at sixty six, yep.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
And then right Croc sixty five, I think it was right.
So there it is. You got to look at those examples.
History repeats itself. Look at the positive examples, the mind
in the mindset of the successful examples, not the mindset
of the failures.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
That's right, absolutely, Well, that's how it's done.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
There it is. How do people reach out to you
from more mindset that they need to succeed in business?

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Well, they start by going to next step CFO dot net.
In the right hand upper right hand corner, there's an
orange button that says find hidden revenue in less than
ten minutes. And what that is it's an AI diagnostic
and it will in less than ten minutes, it will
spin out three strategies that your competition isn't doing and

(10:15):
the impact the financial impact that those three strategies would have,
along with a summary implementation plan. So and that's all free.
And so you go to NEXTSTEPCFO dot net, you click
on the orange button that says find hidden revenue in
less than ten minutes, and you're on your way because
it's just a great opportunity for you to understand the

(10:37):
revenue that's hiding in your business.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
It is so important and I'm so glad we had
you on here once again to help our businesses. You
are a resident expert for a reason, and people need
to reach out to Michael Barbarita and next step CFO
for more business strategies. If this one isn't the one
you need, there's plenty there's that he can help you

(11:01):
with and their organization can so you can succeed. In
twenty twenty six and beyond. We'll see you next We'll
see you next month.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Thank you, yeah, all right, thank you kin, but for
thank
