There are concerns from hospitality businesses about the criteria for the latest wage subsidy.
The subsidy requires businesses to show a 40 per cent drop in revenue over two weeks, compared to a typical 14 day period in the six weeks before the February 14 alert level change.
However Restaurant Association CEO Marisa Bidois told Heather du Plessis-Allan the issue is that the comparative period earlier in the year was already challenged by Covid-19.
"For many businesses in the CBD, January is already a quiet time for businesses.
"So to show a 40 percent loss comparatively to an already quiet month, it really is making some people pull their hair out."
