Speaker 1 (00:00):
The dream World theme park on the Gold Coast is
getting a key we make over ahead of the Warriors
taking on the Titans next month. Dream World will transform
into WA's World. It's basically a big pop up where
the rides and the mascots will be decked out on
Warriors theming and you can grab some merch or a
cheeky giveaway. Cameron George is the CEO of the Warriors
and with us Hi Cam, Hi, Heather. Are you just
(00:20):
back from Sydney? Are you no?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
I'm in Sydney. You're in the Gold Coast yesterday and
I'm in Sydney today and everybody our game here tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Oh how are you feeling for that?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yeah? Very good. The boys are just landed and you
know they're training World this week and I really need
to go make tomorrow night's game count, so looking forward
to it.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Do you know if Jerome Luay is going to be
on the park tomorrow given them? Have you seen the
news about him just now?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah? Well he's been named. It looks like he might
be there next year, but I don't know what's going
on there, but he has been named to play tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Because the news is I mean, I haven't even talked
about this on any but the news is that he's
getting led out of the contract early because he's off
to the P and G Chiefs. But that's only twenty eight,
So what's he going to do for twenty seven?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, I'm not sure. If you've read the headlines, obviously
you're right he could be going early next year and
he might just have to have a stopover at another
club for a year and head to pat P and
G after that. But I'll let the Tigers worry about that.
We have enough on our plate. Do we want to No,
we're going to We're fine with who we have and
(01:27):
where we're moving forward with.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
That's a no, thanks very much, all right? Now, this
Dream World partnership is cool. Did they come to you?
You go to them.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
We've done a little bit with them in the past,
just in the background, and then we just started having
further discussions earlier this year, and I was really keen
to try and test the market and put our brand
there and really challenge them as to what they can
do for us. And when we sat down and talked,
there seemed to be no barriers to their thinking. So
(01:58):
throughout the wars World, and they said, yeah, let's do it.
They've never ever rebranded their park in its history. But
leading into our game on the first of August on
the Gold Coast against the Titans, it's going to be
all things Wires at Wild World. So yeah, looking forward to.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
It, do you I mean, I can see obviously there's
heaps of branding for you. There's the branding opportunity. Do
you get any money from it?
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Well, there's a lot of ways you measure it, Heather, Yeah,
of course there's a commercial arrangement. But the PR and
the cut through locals on Channel nine Free to Wear
last night in Australia about the announcement. And it's massive
that a park, probably Australia's most biggest and most popular
theme park, is changing its name to support a rugby
(02:41):
league club. Nearly every family in Australia is connected historically
to that park, so to be a part of that
landscape is massive for us PR wise, and it allows
our fans to come here and have a second home
on the Gold Coast to enjoy family and friends, and
that's awesome and to be able to do that with them,
really proud of the partnership with Dream Work.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
But what's remarkable about it is it's not Rainbow's end,
do you know what I mean? Like, this is a
park in Australia. So what does this say about the
Australian attitude towards the Warriors.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah, it's huge. You know, it's a real privilege to
be in this position where we're at with our brand
and you know there's fifty five hectares of you know,
rise and just family connection experiences and they want the
Warriors to be a part of that because they see
us as a really credible and trustworthy brand, both in
(03:33):
Australia and New Zealand. So yeah, it's really it's a
real privilege for our footay club. Now.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
I spoke to Sophie Maloney yesterday and it was just
after you got off the phone from her, and she
said you were pretty stoked to stay on Sky. Is
that a fact?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, Look, it's Sophie's such a great leader and you know,
I was just so happy that they got the rights again.
You know, they're great partner of our footy club and
just the connection we have with them and what we've
all over the last few years have been right on
this journey with us and to have them now extended
for another seven years is going to be great for
Rugbia League and New Zealand. And I know Sophie's got
(04:09):
big plans and I love hearing her ambitious vision and
I want to be them when we implement it with her,
So really staked for Sky and Sophie in particular.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Oh god on you, hey, listen, enjoy the game over
