D'Arcy Waldegrave: Sportstalk host on Sergio Perez potentialy departing Red Bull's top Formula One team

Liam Lawson is a favourite to join Red Bull's top Formula One team, after reports Sergio Perez will be relieved of his seat.

Team boss Christian Horner hinted at Perez's potential departure after he failed to finish the Qatar Grand Prix.

So is red Bull gonna sack Sergio Perez?

What looks like it? We say the reports, And normally
you don't give much credibility to reports because the reports
everyone wants to talk about Formula one is such a
big sport. But this has been building and building and
building for a long time, predominantly because Checko Sugio Perez
has had an awful year. He was going at the
start of the year sign himself another year on contract
and then the wheels fell off, not literally, but really,

and so he really hasn't got a future. He's cost
them so much money by not finishing up the order
because Red Ball now aren't going to finish in the
top They might finish top three. The amount of money
you get that generates we're talking eight figures that they're
missing out on.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Such because you've got for Stappin, his teammate who's won
the Driver's Championship, right, and so you would expect since
he is driving exactly the same car as Max for
Stappened more or less exactly, say you know what I mean, Yeah,
you would expect that he would have something akin to
the Stapens performance. Maybe not quite as good as maxistappened,
but he would be up there or thereabouts. However, even
though this happens won the Driver's Championship, Red bull are

not going to win the manufacturers champion and that's the.

One they all want. That's the one because that's the
one where the money and that's the whole edeck. Do
you win on Sunday you sell on Monday? Yes, not
that Red Bulls sell street cars, but that's the whole
drive behind it. And when you haven't got a guy
pulling his weight, it's well, you know, you've got to go.
I know he sells a lot of energy drink in Mexico,

but that can only last so long and reportedly it's
going to be a massive payout to get him out
of his contract. But they just cannot deal with this
any longer. So we'll find out post Able w which
is the last race of the season this weekend.

Speaking of the Middle East, Joseph Parker is heading to
Saudi to fight for the heavyweight title.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
That's where all the money is, that's where they go
in just going back. So Liam Wilson Yuki Snoda are
the two guys. We think fighting it out for that
Red Bull seat. Next year we will see.

Yuki's actually had since was racing this season. Yuki's beating
him three too.

Right. The problem with Yuki Sonoda is that he's going
to go, by the looks of it with Honda across
to Aston Martin and he is time and read booll.
Don't like Aston Martin because they flogged Adrian knew he
so I don't think they're going to do him any
favors at all. I think it's leaning towards limb It
strange thing. Yeah, he's got a title fight ibfavyweight title
finally after that WBO way back in the day, climbed

his way back up the rankings, different blocks than he
was back then. He's taken on a guy called Daniel Dublas,
monstrous human being, like ripped to Berts. He fought Joe
Joyce and his eye socket was broken. He took so
many jabs to the eye it just all swelled. He
couldn't fight back again. But that guy clear in present danger,
but so is Joe Parker. So that's coming up mid

February over in the Yard and that will be a
great fight. Can Joe Parker. A lot of people wrote
the bloke off, and I'll tell you what. The last
few exchanges he has been phenomenal. Can he get back
to the top of the world again? So this is
