Speaker 1 (00:00):
How about Tohu Harris? Tohu Harris, the Warriors captain, the
former Warriors captain, is now in Hawke's Bay. And when
the game happens against the Dolphins, he'll be out there
trying to sell houses. This is one of their greatest
challenges in their 31-year history, but this legend of the
game will be selling houses. The matchup against the Dolphins
is at Mount Smart. It's sold out. It's the opening

(00:22):
game of the NRL weekends, and Tohu Harris will not
be there. Tohu, how dare you?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
You can't make them all, but I'll be there in spirit.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Because of your real estate job.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
So got to be able to pay the bills and
put food on the table.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So we're busy working.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
I hope you're doing well. I hope you're doing well.
Lots of reports of real estate agents struggling right now,
having to do side hustles to make ends meet. So
I wish that you do sell a house, but I
can bet your boots you will not be wearing warrior's gear.
on the day of the game, will you?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, I could make an exception. I'm sure I won't
be the only one. Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
What do you think of the Dolphins?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
They're a great side. They've always had the talent. Year
on year, they've got talent right throughout their squad. But
what we've seen from them this year is a bit
more consistency and only the consistent sides that can play
well week in, week out generally you'll see them in
the top four, and that's where we see the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
So it's definitely going to be a challenge.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
They know how to score points, but from what we've
seen from the Warriors this year and how they've defended,
I'm quietly confident.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Well, here's the thing, and we've always talked about this,
it's the last half of the season that's the most important.
And when you start putting together wins towards the last
half and building momentum towards the final series, then you
can start talking about rocking and rolling. And here's the
problem with the Dolphins. What have they done? Six, seven
wins on the trot coming here with a head of steam.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
They're coming in with some momentum, but so are the Warriors.
And you can't put a price on playing in front
of that Mount Smart crowd either. It's like a second
leg or third leg. It's incredible that the support that,
that the Warriors have had since we've got back from COVID,
but just seems to just keep getting better and better.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Meanwhile, the Warriors have a head of steam as well,
and even though everything sometimes seems to be against them,
they've managed to come up with the goods every time.
What sets this Warriors team apart from all the other
Warriors teams you've either been part of or watched?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Just the mixture of talent and I guess how connected
they are. Like everyone, it doesn't matter whether it's big
or small, they all celebrate each other. All these young
guys have taken the next step in their careers and
they're just getting better and better and it's all come together.
They've got strong leaders and they've got a strong core

(03:07):
group of players that play week in, week out and
they all care about each other. That's been the biggest
sort of change and it's genuine. They enjoy each other.
And they just work hard for each other.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Isn't that amazing? You were part of the old boys
weekend the other weekend as well. I mean, how good
was that? Everyone coming together, mentoring the new side as well.
We've got the new Haka that's part of the team
as well. Everything, you know, that's just amazing. You're quite right.
They're all supporting each other. And Webby, I mean, he's
obviously the coach of the year of the entire league.
I mean, there are good players in every team in

(03:43):
this competition and but at the end of the day,
it's the top three inches and it's the heart. And
you're saying that the Warriors have that.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Um, like every, like you mentioned, every team has those
top end players, but it's whether, uh, your whole team.
So from one to 30, because it's such a long season,
you need to use a lot of, a lot of players.
And if everyone's on the same page, everyone puts everything
into their performance and to preparing, um, You tend to

(04:13):
get success, and that's what we've seen from teams like
the Warriors. The Panthers have been doing it for years now. Roosters,
the same thing. They've got the top-end talent, but the
core group of players that make up that squad, everyone's
just taken their game to a new level.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
I've got my betting app up right now. So what
do you say? Obviously, I'm going to say Warriors because
I feel you're going to have to say that or
else you'll never be welcome back in the club. So
it's going to be Warriors. So what does it buy?
Is it $ 13, 000?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
No, I'm going to say Warriors 13 plus.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Oh, really?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I love your work and I hope you sell lots
of houses, ladies and gentlemen. Tohu Harris, former Warriors captain, legend,
real estate operator in Hawke's Bay. If you see him
on the street, say hello, shake his hand, and for
God's sake, buy a house from the man.
