Speaker 1 (00:07):
You're listening to the Marcus Lush Night's podcast from News Talks.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
That'd be good evening and welcome here till twelve o'clock.
My name is Marcus. I hope tonight finds you well. Surprisingly,
it's been a very nice day down south. It's been
clear skuys, but there will be a frost tonight. I
know sometimes you think, well, gosh, if it's this windy
and christ Church and one intent, it must be terrible
as you get fur there. I'm not always the case.
I don't want to be a weather apologist, but I
just think it's important. I say that. Get in touch
(00:33):
Marcus till twelve, eight hundred and eighty ten eighty. A
couple of things before I start. Firstly, I had to
go to just to get a filling, and that's fine,
that happens from time to time. It was an old
filling that need to be repaired. And I find the
dental visits loom quite large in my life. I was
(00:56):
slightly fascinated by it. But once you get a new filling,
and I think an old filling and I toothed cracked
for four or five months, and once you find a
new filling, it's free assuring when your tongue finds it
to know that you've got a teeth. That's a tooth there,
that's complete. But the frustrating thing is you can't see
that tooth. And I was trying before I came on
(01:17):
here to get a photo of it, but just see
what it looked like, to see where that filling was
and what it looked like from the inside of the mouth.
Impossible to do. Even with a camera on self portrait
mode in front of the mirror. I couldn't get a
snap of my tooth. So I just wonder. I mean,
this is a two part It's a statement in a
query for me? Is it a statement in a query?
(01:38):
It's a statement in a query. Do any dentists offer
a photo of the completed tooth? Is that something that
because it wouldn't be hard to do, So that's a question.
Have you ever been somewhere they say, well, here's a picture,
and you can hold a camera that goes into your mouth.
And secondly, this is a statement. Be good to have
a thing that you could actually attach to your cell
phone so you could take photos inside your mouth. I
(02:00):
don't know what that would look like, but that's something
I would like birthday coming up. Maybe that would be
a thing to take photos of the inside of my mouth,
because it's a place that's so intimate to you, but
you never know what goes on there. That's the first thing.
That was my statement and my comment. Secondly, there is
a man whose car was hit by a tree in
(02:22):
those storms within Wellington and he has said he's going
to go and buy a lotto ticket, which I love
because I can't quite work out the logic when something
bad happens to people and they go and buy a
lotto ticket. Is he thinking he was lucky to escape
that and then for he is more lucky than most,
(02:44):
or is he someone that thinks there is a set
level of luck and if you lose some then it's
going to come your way. I've never understood the pill
that by the lotto tech. I know it's just something
people say. I can't quite work out the thinking behind it.
If you explain that to me, I'd appreciate that. A
press appreciate that. Oh, eight hundred and eighty ten eighty
and nine to nine two to text if you want
(03:05):
to come through. It is the last Friday of the
first half of the year and that's worth noting, Michael.
It's Marcus.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Good evening, good evening, Marcus does better be good Marcus?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
As you calling?
Speaker 4 (03:19):
I thought you called me.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Everyone should say that. What did you call? Marcus? What
did you call?
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Ah?
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Do you ever want a photograph inside your mouth?
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I provided a photograph of the inside of my mouth
to a work colleague one time after a major wisdom
tooth extraction that looked extremely horrible, And yeah, I got
a great response from that.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Did you get HRD? Did they send you to human remains?
Speaker 4 (03:56):
No?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
But the reply I got this was that's wrong explanation
Mark Oh.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Had they asked to see the photo? Just send it
to them unsolicited?
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Didn't get to each my work colleagues. We all support
one another or were used to.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
How'd you take the photo?
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Mobile phone and inside the mouth?
Speaker 2 (04:19):
But just a standard phone just opening your mouth and
on nighttime mode?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah, with a flash?
Speaker 6 (04:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Correct?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Wow? And it basically basicly you go basically.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yeah, the picture basically looked like the shovel scoopings of
a roadkill.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Wow. Were there stitches?
Speaker 7 (04:38):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
No, there wasn't, but there was a clear mess there
that healed nicely, thankfully.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
What's with wisdom teeth. Have we outgrown them because they
always have to get removed? Don't they? Have our jaws changed?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I can't quite remember if mine had a cavity or not.
But the trouble with my one is that it had
a double hooked a double root. It had two roots
which were hooked, so it was a double roosted, double
hooked wisdom tooth. And I sat there. I timed it.
It was an hour forty five with my head back
(05:16):
and forth while the dentist was struggling with the tooth,
and my jawbone had to get drilled into to extract
the the problem. It was amazing.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
I can't remember if I had two wisdom teeth out
all four. I'd like to see my tooth diary to
know exactly what's happened with that. But you kind of
once you're out of it, you forget about it, don't you.
I don't really know what happened in there.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
The experiences like that are precious. I used to really
love my dentists, and I still do, but it's what ended.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Up going bare at your workplace.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Bottom.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, I get that.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yeah, well, not with crazy callers who.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
I was joking. I don't really get that, Michael, fifteen
past eight, So who does photos? Could? It'd be easy
kit to do? Take quite, take quite. I can't speak
properly tonight four zero bulldogs over the Gold Coast, Salio.
It's Marcus. Good evening, Oh, yes.
Speaker 8 (06:18):
Good evening, Marcus. I bust complained about you to start with,
because I didn't used to listen to you, and now
I miss out on ours of sleep because my ears
grewed your Well, it's so enjoyable, I find it so anyway. No,
what I'm really ringing about is I had three swillings
(06:40):
done recently, and when I went to pay, I'd already
gone for X rays and things earlier week or two,
and I paid for that. When I went to pay
for the three sillings, they cost me one thousand dollars.
And I'm on the throoper. I'm eighty actually, and they
(07:03):
know that. I was quite stun and but I didn't
say anything. And they said, I will, we'll see you
in six months, and I thought, old, well know you won't.
I'll find somebody. I've never been done like that before.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
How long? How long had it taken?
Speaker 8 (07:22):
Oh, it did take a while. It did take a
while that is true, it would have probably taken over
an hour and good. But I can see, yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
You can see, you can see yeah, because would most
people eighty have their own teeth or not?
Speaker 8 (07:47):
I don't know. These days people people are younger for
their years, I think. And you know, once upon a time,
eighty was considered very old and you were still almost
to credit. Today, I don't seek eighty year olds are
like that. Let's going to the doctor and looking after
(08:08):
their health.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
That is yeah.
Speaker 8 (08:12):
No smoking and drinking are the key to staying healthy.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
And that's mean, that's me sorted.
Speaker 9 (08:21):
Lovely to talk to you.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Probably it's probably got investment to stop having to have ditches,
isn't it? To get the I mean you had to
get the fillings done, didn't you. I mean, that's that
you've got. You didn't really have a choice.
Speaker 8 (08:31):
Well, they were breakages, yea from you know my but
the lady that comes and does some cleaning for me
once a week. I didn't know it, but she she
showed me the dentures and she reckoned that the top
set and the bottom set they worked out at a
(08:52):
two thousand dollars and that was for the two sets.
And I thought well, she got bit of value than
I live.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Yeah, but I don't think Yeah, but I don't think
i'd like I don't think you and i'd cope well
with ditches Sally. No, yeah, I think it's the last
thing i'd love me to talk Sally. Thank you.
Speaker 10 (09:13):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I often think about dinches because once upon a time
they knockle your teeth that when you're young, save their
hands or put the dinches. Oh No, I couldn't handle dinches.
I mean maybe I called you, And that's the thing
I've thought about me. I'm very resilient bounce back. I
think I'm hopeless. But next thing, you know, bouncing back?
But can you get a camera for your mouth? Because
I couldn't use that one? And what about people that
(09:36):
go and by lotto tickets when something bad happens to them?
Is that because they think they're lucky they didn't die?
Because you're not that lucky for tree falls on you.
I mean, by that theory, if you would lotoh you're
better off going to buy another ticket because you're lucky.
I don't get it. Where do I get this camera?
Want a camera on a flexible stem? Marcus? That guy
I used up all his lucks, a waste of time
(09:56):
buying a lot of ticket Exactly, that's me and I'm
sticking to it now. Yes, get in touch now, what
said a long text for Oh that's not for me.
I will keep you by the way. If anyone's got
weather updates, I know we should be going big on this.
I've forgotten about that now. Interesting I saw someone post
online right now the reason that the planes went boarding
(10:20):
in Wellington was not because it was dangerous in the
winds to take off, but they're worried that the doors
of the luggage things would blow off when they opened them. Now,
I don't know about you, but where I live in
Bluff that you've always got to park your car into
the wind so your door doesn't. It happened very often,
(10:41):
but there are wind warnings. I've got updates for you
about the weather. And if you've got weather updates, let
us know. There are roads closed Statehoway fifty three at
the White Thing a bridge near Martinborough. The water is high.
Most Wington flights have not resumed. Ken Laib and the
Lower art Mere said people should stay home. Well, that's
(11:02):
not gonna be the restaurants any good, is it? But
he's right the wild where there isn't over yet strong
winds one fifty k's. That won't just put your trampoline
on the roof, that'll put just about your whole house
on the roof. There is flooding two and Wynuia mutter
and why fit to both those rivers are up slip
and Lowery Bay slip and why nouja mutter on the
(11:25):
Wainui hill. So yeah, just be aware of that. My
son recently brought a little cabra to look down into
his ears. Amazing, it was so small. Yes, I'd like
one of those little cameras just have a bit of
a look inside of my mouth to see what's going
on in there. But yeah, if I was a dentist
often think about that the services I would offer it
would involve a before and after internal photo, just because
(11:48):
hard when you look at the X ray know what's
going on. But you know, I'm very I'm very happy
with the servers I get, YadA YadA. Yeah, I'm not complaining.
I'm just thinking, well, often because you're sitting there with
not much to do, you can't go on your phone,
think well, how would I be doing this differently? That's
just me me by the sea, get in touch ed'll
twelve one Ms. Marcus welcome. There are other topics that
I've got no idea what they are because it's loose
(12:09):
like a goose. It's Friday, beben my key at midnight. Wow,
there's a glitch in the matrix brilliant, by the way,
using it in plays toil. We've got to beat Belgium,
and I think then, I think Egypt's got to lose
or something. Belgium's under pressure. That's happening nineteen thirty six
(12:30):
on this day, the world's first practical helicopter lifts off.
Hasn't been that long. It's ninety years since I've had helicopters.
But again, touched you on talk what any mane of us?
Marcus welcome. By the way, I went to Peck and Save.
I'd bought some nuts and I went as a Peck
and Save on the way, I'm going to get my
Club Plus card. I wanted a physical card, not a
(12:54):
not a virtual one. So I went there to the
lot of outlet and the woman I said, can I
get a Club plus case a CHRISTI can, and she
gave me the iPad and then she I had to
write down my twelve, I had to write down a
twelve digit password, and I wrote down the twelve digit password,
and then I took a pause to type that into
notes on my phone before i'd forgotten it because it
(13:17):
had to use percentage, so I used a percentagem because
you're going to use one of those simble, we've gotta
use a bigger than a riddle lander.
Speaker 11 (13:23):
I just used.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
It was just a percentage, so I was choosing that
right now. The twelve I think about fourteen because I
kind of combined on my passwords together and then put
a ten percentage symbol on the end. But as I
was doing that, the woman the woman told the other
woman to put my nuts back because she thought that
was someone else that left to purchase on the thing.
So there by the time I got my own club card,
(13:46):
the whole reason of them are purchase of we returned
to the shelf. So yeah, I thought that was ironic.
There I was someone for diligence and returned my purse
purchase to the shelf. Anyway, I'm now the proud owner
of a club plus card, so that's exciting. Times. Well,
it won't work at peck and say it will work
at the four Square and Bluff. We don't have a
(14:06):
supermarket Bluff with Peck and Saves in town, but I'll
use it the four Square because they've started asking for
a great self scanner, but they've started asking for a
club card and well club plus stupid name. I'll probably
lose it a day or two, but I was excited.
I like the colors are quite the way it looks anyway, Marcus,
do you have any intel about the one or your
(14:26):
matter Hill Road? Is it still one lane? Anyone going
over that? Where's our mate from MAREFM drive? He's there?
Did you meet him with the party?
Speaker 11 (14:34):
Dan?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
What was his name in Wellington? Anyway? They get you
good evening, Whisley. It's Marcus.
Speaker 12 (14:40):
Welcome Hey Marcus.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Yes, uh, Wellington's still not out of the woods yet.
With the weather, our weather warnings have been extended. There
have been a number of slips and power outages in
the region. People probably are coming home from work the
houses with no power and there's not parts of the region.
There have been landslides resulting in the knevacoration and as
(15:05):
the ads were on one low Town has gone out
the gates in response to possibly a weather related call out.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
When does the weather warning end, Wesley?
Speaker 5 (15:15):
That's been extended to six am? Now, okay, the weather
forecast that I have seen is calling for the weather
system to stall over the top of Wellington, which basically
means become stationary, which.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Means the rainfall will increase, the expected rainfall will be higher.
Won't it possibly appreciate that? Wesley? Thanks so much. If
you have got power cuts or need information from us,
don't hesitate to text us. I know you've got made
of charge on your phone. We'll do what we can
to give you information. We realize this is probably potentially
a fairly big event. Get in touch A good texts
coming through, Marcus. I'm finding the Club plus threeing quite amusing,
(15:54):
given packing saves entire marketing campaign for years is having
they don't use club membership for discounts. Let's right, it's
a disaster. The last thing that should be doing. All
it's caused is confusion. Oh, I like this is long
text about someone's teeth, but I can't quite understand it.
Your wife might had jagged teeth, That's the expression I
(16:15):
would try to get a confirmation about the one ru
your matter. Hill Rode if that's still open and text
if you can, if you want to have got some
information about that, if you want to talk on here
eight hundred and eighty to it's teeth and lotto and
the club card. So far there's something else you want
to mention too. It was a good article about that,
that christ Church's supermarket trolley graveyard. Did you read about that?
(16:37):
Looked terrible? I thought, I reckon with supermarket trolley's. I reckon.
The supermarkets don't want them back. I reckon they'd rather
claim insurance because I've never seen supermarkets showing any desire
to get them back. That's my learned opinion there. If
you want to comment on that, good I wait hundred
and eighty toenaighty nine two nine to text. But yeah,
(16:58):
this was in christ Church. You got some information about that.
It was in a suburb beginning with l It wasn't
a subury by though it was. I thought it was
gonna be around Ricketon. But get in touch hit twelve,
eight hundred and eighty. I'll find the article for you
if I can. I'm all about this, Steve. It's Marcus.
Good evening, Steve.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
How are you going, Bud good?
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Thanks Steve, endoscope.
Speaker 13 (17:22):
Have you heard of one of those?
Speaker 14 (17:23):
No?
Speaker 15 (17:23):
I have?
Speaker 13 (17:23):
Now, Yeah, Well, our little camera type situation that can
go into small holes and take photographs. Can taking a
picture of it too?
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Can you attest to your cell phone?
Speaker 13 (17:36):
Yep, you can do also for them now. I think
you can even pick them up out of t move.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Of course you could. How would it clip onto your phone?
Speaker 13 (17:43):
It's like it'll be like something like a like a
little alligated clip type of arrangement, I'd say, but you'd
have to you'd have to double check on that. But
they come in all different sizes.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
They used.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
They used in the automotive industry.
Speaker 13 (17:58):
When you're going to peep down a look and look
in the look at the piston or something.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I reckon a magnet might have gone down beside the
beside the inside bowl of my washing machine in the
outside bowl too, and an endoscope would be good for that,
wouldn't it to look down there? Does it?
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Absolutely?
Speaker 12 (18:15):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Does it cast its own light?
Speaker 13 (18:18):
Yeah, I've got a little lot, Yeah, exactly, they've got
a little light on it. They're actually put a real
handy little tool, not just a new motor entry, but
it's a whole sort of thing. So get one a
thicker than your toolbox, Marcus, or your all your nights
before straw.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
The real question is the real question is how we
survived for this long with that one.
Speaker 13 (18:36):
Well, that's that steevid. You didn't know, you didn't know.
You've got to go out to search the truth, Marcus.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Thank you. I think for a lot of it's for
not having a letterbox and not getting any junk mail.
I'm missing out on a lot of stuff. One Uia
Matter Hill is one lane that turns into two, then
an on ramp joins, becoming a third lane up near
the top where they lived in the middle lane, Mrgay Merge.
The two lanes cons to to the top bottom the hill,
where the left lane goes. The extension of the right
lane goes to the main shops of the village. So
(19:07):
so it says with the inner sku your plug it
into your bluetooth. Very good. I'd like to know more
things that just are just South Island, things like chicken
salt and ranch dressing. Here the midnight it's my job
twenty five to eleven nine. By the way, it's Jolly
Street and Linwood and christ Church. That's the super market
(19:28):
trolley dumping ground trolley street they call it. And yes
I didn't get my nuts back. They had to call
the woman on the phone. Then they paged her to
bring the nuts back. Libyt's Marcus. Good evening, Hello, Hi Libby, welcome.
Speaker 10 (19:40):
Oh hi. I just think about all these trolleys that
get dumped and rivers and wherever. The supper markets must
be making quite a bit of money. Why don't they
do what Eldi's in Australia do. You've got to buy
(20:00):
a special coin, not the size of you see madrel
coin and you keep that and new use it every
time you want a trolley, You've put it in and
you don't get it back until it's returned.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Could work, couldn't it?
Speaker 10 (20:17):
I think it would be a great idea. I'm sick
of seeing all these trolleys around christ Church. I live
in Huntsbree, live in Huntrey.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
What's with christ Church people that they are so reckless
with their trolley? Do they not care?
Speaker 10 (20:32):
No, they don't care.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
I wondered is that because of what they've been through
and stuff?
Speaker 10 (20:39):
Look, it could be. I think it's probably the way
they're being brought up and they don't care. I'm sick
and tired of all the scraffiti that's around christ Church.
I can't understand.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Would that be the same people.
Speaker 10 (20:55):
Oh look, I wouldn't know. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
To be free, I've never seen anyone with a trolley tagging.
But yeah, you might have a point. Don't know what
the intersection set is. I've never seen graffiti of a trolley.
Would be a good thing to do, wouldn't it. That'd
be the two groups merging Rocky it's Marcus, welcome.
Speaker 14 (21:13):
There, you going there, Marcus. I'm just talking about we
got We went to the old Bloody supermarket there is
there the other day there and we bought half a
kilo of months and there was probably about three key
loads of plastic surrounding it. It's absolutely despicable, isn't it?
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Right?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
I know, and we're talking we're talking a plastic based
in cling film round and round.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Yes, terrible. You could.
Speaker 14 (21:39):
You could just about turn it into a yacht and
float that plastic bait and.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
We go around the world.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
And that's not going to be recyclable. Stuff that's low grade,
isn't it.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (21:50):
Well, I try my vest because I think to myself,
is that going to be recyclable, because where.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Do you live?
Speaker 14 (21:55):
Where do you live, Rocky, I'm in Alexandra here.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
You know you're going to make that? Does home kill?
That can sort you out?
Speaker 10 (22:03):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (22:03):
Well I used to do it myself.
Speaker 14 (22:05):
I used to kick killed my own sheep and back
in the day. But I'm a little lit skelly here.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Oh you want to go home kill? You want to
get this because that's crazy because it probably costs you
twelve bucks for half a cagy of milk at the
at the New World?
Speaker 4 (22:19):
Would it be?
Speaker 6 (22:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (22:21):
And it's a it's all gone, gone, gone weird, isn't it?
As I know is I used to I used to
run run the old milk bottles to the to the
vendors in Alexandra when I would work for old Bert
Plump to here. And you know I've done all of
those old old school jobs. And tell you what, you'd
be up at our three in the morning delivering the
milk bottles, the old glass milk bottles. I've done all
(22:42):
that good value too. Makers.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Are you guys still leaving rabbits up there?
Speaker 14 (22:47):
Well? Ever since that got released right on the neck
of the woods here, that Selici virus con, I've con
walked away from it.
Speaker 12 (22:56):
Yeah, yeah, it was.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
You've lost your spark, Rockey. Oh, I kind of here
to become a supermarket slave. The rabbits chooting's go on
the home kill down. It's just there's no dignity you
buying half a kilogram of mints that you must feel
a ruling in there. Get away.
Speaker 16 (23:16):
I know, all surrounded and plastic, the world surrounded and plant.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
You're better than that, Rocky.
Speaker 14 (23:22):
I know, I actually am. I'm trying to avoid anything plastic.
Speaker 17 (23:26):
I go alloy and glass.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Will there be a butcher there? There must be a
butcher in the New world that actually could put you
that meat onto just a bit of brown paper and
then a plastic could if you can't think they do that, Mark,
I don't do a tray mince anymore. Do they always
used to? Didn't They have the tray with the mint
so you pick.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
Some out exactly.
Speaker 14 (23:45):
But I mean, at the end of the day, you
can't have you can't have your own stock in the backyard,
can you. We'd all love to, we all loved it. Actually,
I've got to make you're here out here at lets Kelly,
and I've got a back panic. So yeah, I'm contemplating
hens and so for I've only I've only been here
the last three months.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Oh great, are you're living the dream?
Speaker 4 (24:09):
I'm living it.
Speaker 14 (24:10):
Actually, it's funny you say that I'm living the dream, Marcus.
Actually you're living the dream too. You've got the old
farming out the way there just to cool blood.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Yeah, I live in the dre but yeah, but I'm yeah,
I'm not buying mince at half a kilo wrapped. I
can tell you that, Rocky. I'm going to move on,
but nast to talk eighteen to nine. I don't know
if it's a christ Church problem, Marcus. The mince peck
has probably been rewrapped many times from being poked too much.
One boiled egg at green Bay New World is a
(24:40):
dollar forty nine. One boiled egg at points Chevalley a
New World is two dollars twenty five. I don't know
you could buy an individual boiled egg. There is a
man in Auckland who finds trolleys around the city, pushes
them down to the waterfront and throws them into the hardway.
He's been doing it for many years. Entropy bended. What
the joy isn't that? And we have to be a
fairy gifted guy to push those trolleys a long distance
(25:02):
because they don't go easy with the wobbly we hendled
twelve get in touch. Oh eight hundred and eighty eighty
h What have you got up for it? Anything goes
if you want to partake tonight supermarket trolley's and the
dumping of them, oh yeah, and how to take a
front of your teeth? Are there be other stuff I'm
(25:24):
sure tonight? Oh and the weather conditions also if you're
there's power cuts and things. If you are out of power,
I want to no information too. I will do my
darndis to get that to you. We are in the
middle of a weather event. A five thousand are without power.
So that's kind of some information I've got for you.
It's Swillington, Tardanak and Marlborough under strong wind warnings until
the morning. I think now I think it's been extended.
(25:46):
Trampline lifted in Tawer moved it from this usual spot
beside a house. The woman said it's lucky she didn't
hit the house but was lifted by the wind. Well
she should have pegged it down. You don't live in
tower with an unanchored trampline. That's irresponsible. Six thousand without
power across the central Northlan and Winnington region. So yeah,
I've got details for you, but you know where you
(26:07):
are without power and the flooding and lower hot is
the worse since twenty sixteen, fifteen to nine thirty to nine.
Good evening, Peter, how you going to Marcus?
Speaker 13 (26:18):
Hey, Peter, I think you talk about shopping trolleys. I
was working up in the Northern Territory at Catherine there
and we used to do all our shopping at the
coal supermarket. So you had to put a two dollar
coin in the top of the handle of the trolly.
I can't remember the released released one of the wheels
that we had unlost into the other cage. But anyway,
(26:40):
we've done our shopping. But where our groceres out to
the truck and the kitchen, follow us, take the tolley's.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Back for us and get the two dollars, right, makes sense?
Done it?
Speaker 18 (26:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (26:49):
Well, you know when for three trolleys gets six.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Bucks just so there's kids hanging in the supermarket just
to do that.
Speaker 13 (26:57):
Yeah, I think it's followed people out in aws and
they take their trolleys back.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Yeah, brilliant, makes sense. Thanks, makes sense to me, Peter,
thank you, Johnny, Marcus welcome.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Like a great idea, mate.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
How much it'd make an hour? Twenty buck? You'd be
happy as a kid, wouldn't you.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
I'm really sorry, Marcus. That's my sorry about that, Marcus,
sorry about what?
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (27:18):
I thought you might have heard the Google talking over
the top of you on the way back from after
the baby was born.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Heard nothing. When was the baby born?
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Oh, at about six o'clock tonight. We sat there from
eleven o'clock this morning. And yeah sea fiction today, oh
Sea section, Yeah, thank you. Yeah, Yes, she's on the
twenty sixth of the six, twenty twenty six, which is pretty.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Cool, great day. What's the child called?
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Her name is Wyater, brilliant and it won't be too
long before she's riding around in a shopping trolley.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
And what was your last child's name?
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Siren?
Speaker 2 (27:55):
That's right, siren?
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Yeah, yeah, we've got siren, Wyatt.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
I rang about the trolley has siren?
Speaker 19 (28:02):
Mitt Wyater, My apologies.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Have you got siren with you?
Speaker 19 (28:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Yeah, he's at the he's late.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
He's been his younger sister.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, a great night. I just want to say one
thing that the trolley's made in totong of where I live.
Those trolleys are often news, but people who are homeless, yes,
and they pushed their worldly goods arounding them. And I
saw an incident the other day where a trolley collector
was trying to recover one from a woman who's living
(28:35):
on the street. Yeah, he was truly trying. He said, look,
I'm I've got to take the trolley, but I'll come
back tomorrow and grab it, okay. And I thought that
was so nice, you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yeah, I mean, and look the other thing to it
from a homeless point of view, it's not that it's
not the easiest thing to wield stuff around, and is it.
I mean, I'm sure that.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
Yeah, I visually in the rain.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah yeah, everything falling through it's not safe. Johnny, thank you.
Teed away from nine Evening Dale. This is Marcus. Welcome.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
Yeah, I'm going on fifteen now. I'm encourager to the moment.
Not far from them would But I grew up in
Ninus and I can remember around nineteen eighty eight, between
nineteen eighty eight to nineteen ninety, there was a place
there called three guys and on a Sunday they offered
everybody ten dollars per trolley they brought backs through the creeks,
(29:27):
no matter what condition. Ten dollars a trolley, really, And
I remember I was only a kid, maybe ten, eleven,
twelve years old, and I've bought ten trolleys and got
undred bucks.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Wow, because you've got to be careful that, because the
moral has it would be people to be hiding them
for next time, wouldn't they.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
Yeah, it was a one office only I've ever seen it.
But people were going through the creeks, pulling them out
of creeks, and yet they were getting money for it.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
I've seen thousands of them dump down creeks. I mean
there's a lot out there, but I don't think it
seems to be the supermarkets aren't that keen to get
them back, or they would. I reckon they must get insurance.
But we'll find out more about that Dale. Thank you, Scott,
Marcus good evening.
Speaker 11 (30:04):
Yeah, Marcus, our first one to say a big congratulations
to our way out a New Dads.
Speaker 9 (30:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (30:12):
Whatever the correct terminology there is. You were talking about things,
shouldn't it radio? Things that are only found in the
South Islands, and I've always been interested and I've been there,
and I've been to a.
Speaker 13 (30:23):
Range of really interesting flavors of.
Speaker 11 (30:26):
Soft drinks, Like there's a chocolate one I remember in
these little plastic bottles.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Is it fizzy?
Speaker 11 (30:32):
Yeah, it's like, yeah, it's it looks like what's that
been mean? It looks like a cheap drink, like you
know how you get the trays of like twenty four
plastic bottles at the warehouse before the brightly colored physics.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Yes, it's that kind of vibe.
Speaker 11 (30:45):
The bottles are a lot bigger, but the flavors were
I remember there being a lot of weird flavors that
The only one I remembered distinctly was there was a
chocolate soda one. But I mean many times, no, I've
been I've been trying to think it, but I've noticed
that I've noticed that many times when I've been in
a night and day they're all kind of you know,
lurid colors as you would expect.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Yeah, I don't know what that would be.
Speaker 11 (31:06):
Maybe they do a combo with the two dollars tomato.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Thought it is it called?
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Is it chocol aid?
Speaker 15 (31:11):
Is it is it?
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Wests that sounds it looks. It looks really but it
looks really budget day.
Speaker 11 (31:19):
Yeah, it's like the clear plastic bottle, kind of like
you're expecting the twenty fourth, you know, the trail four
for ten, but wow, that kind of thing. But yeah,
there was definitely a chocolate one among other weird flavors.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
But I think it might be from a Duneedian company
called Chocolate. I've never seen it or tried.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
It, but.
Speaker 11 (31:36):
I'm gonna I'm gonna have a I'm gonna have a goggle.
What did you say, West Choco Laid.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Yeah, c h Yeah, Wests eighteen seventy six. Have a
look at that. I think that might be your answer.
Looks terrible, says for decades, our chocolate has delighted customers
for refreshing taste and smooth flavor. It looks to me
like a food crime. Anyone tell me more about chocola Aid.
So next hour I've taken care of I think perhaps Scott,
(32:00):
thank you. Chocolaid. Wests also do a pineapple and pear
just flew from christ Church to Auckland, fairly bouncy, over
Nelson to Tardanak. So it's a solid storm system. Fancy
someone buying an individual boiled egg. Oh I suppose yeah
(32:20):
saves you. That has some doing it yourself but cheap
looking looking any sets as any new news headlines for
your people. The weather warning the weather system has been
extended foreign immodit to yeah. Busy hundred and sixty five
call outs. Number of roads closed and masters and in
fact a lot of clothes roads closed due to flooding.
Too many for me to go through. That's the latest,
(32:44):
and most flights have not resumed. A flight scheduled to
land from Auckland and wanting to attend twenty but wasn't
clear whether it would lead to the conditions Tonerred flights
have been canceled two hundred. If you want to talk
about this or anything else, that's the plan. Chock are late.
I think I've ever known about that or talked about that.
So if you want to mention that or do something
about that, good I can hear from you. Welcome to it.
(33:06):
Eight hundred and eighty, ten eighty and nine to nine
to text anything else, get in touch or text if
you need to nine to nine two an email Marcus
at newstalk z'db dot co dot z Johnny Lot of
love on the text for Wyatt to two. So congrats
from plenty of people have showed about that, so you
go well too, and yeah, so thanks for telling us
(33:30):
all that too. Johnny's just ten am a baby daughter.
That's good. Use Wyata get in touching on tour by
the way too. I don't know much about the Wists
range of drinks. These are the drinks from Dunedin. I've
never tried one myself, and I think until that guy spoke,
I don't know about that chocolate fizzy drink. It looks
(33:50):
like a wet crime to me when I say that,
looks like something should be put in a bottle Wists.
And I don't know the brand at all, but it
looks to me if you look at it. Now, I
don't take this the wrong way. If you look at it,
it looks like a budget brand. It's not fleshly designed
or anything. But chocol Aid is a chocolate flavored fizzy drink.
(34:12):
So you're going to go look at the West's page.
You got some pretty out there flavors. Goodness. They even
do a drink called it red as Energy. Ah, how
do they get past? And yeah, West's never heard of it.
They do a pineapple and pear. I'll try one on
the way out home after work at chocolate. I'll just
I won't drink all of it. Wouldn't we be good
(34:33):
to sleep on? Anyone know anything about that? Let me.
I don't know what their what their songline is, what
their life story is, don't know where they came from.
But they're still there and they're doing it. Tom West
started the whole thing, brightly colored cordials, Well you got
that right. In hand crafted bottles, well, I think the
hand crafted bottle sides along with the thing. West is
(34:56):
also proud of engaging in export. Highlights include a container
of energy drinks to North Africa and the ongoing export
to the Pacific Islands. Nice exactly what they need? Well, don't,
I don't know? Be in touch if you want to
hit on midnight? Oh eight hundred and eighty ten eighty
and nine two nine two text, that's what we are
talking about. And shopping trolleys and dentists and photos in
(35:20):
your side your mouth And how much would you pay
for a boiled egg? Marcus? I bought a dozen eggs
one morning before work and put them back in the
cart and put them on the tablet smoke over. Everyone
told the boys I picked them up already cooked to
the sleupermarket on my way to work, and they believed it.
Loll count down. The Hamilton has some system with a
trolley's lock if you try and take them off site.
It's now rare to see abandoned trolley on the street.
(35:44):
Just a big shout out to all the linesmen out
there traveling long distance, is working long hours. We are
one of the people without power. Between fog and ui
and waititutaa chocolate, pineapple and pear both first class pineapple
and pear. Goodness that need you called Hittle twelve old
Waight hundred eighty ten eighty keep you update with weather
anything else you've got weather updates and power updates. Two
(36:06):
let us looks like there's some pitty sketchy attempted landings
at the airport. Round and round they go and don't land.
So there's that now. Oh, by the way, there's something
else you want to mention tonight on the Friday three
for we'll get amongst it. Five thousand still without power. Yeah,
that's mainly Tadanaki Fuanganui and right, I don't think the
(36:28):
South Island's copped it. Yet I think the South Islands
had a pretty calm autumn and winter so far. You
might know more. We played Belgium tomorrow. It's and must
win games or must win I think Belgium if they
don't when they're in trouble too, and they're a good team,
so oh, there will be casualties. I wouldn't be surprised
if we win. I don't think it's likely. I wouldn't
(36:49):
be surprised by the way. The other thing I can
tell you about, Commodore has unveiled a Y two K
like flip phone. Doesn't look very good, but it's kind
of transparent. I don't imagine that will do much. But
there we go the callback eighty twenty. So I wouldn't
really trust a Commodore phone. It's to combat smartphone addiction.
(37:12):
I don't know if anyone out there suffers from that.
I'm sure you probably do. But yeah, And there's a
big article on how loyalty programs are costing us. Consuming
is in and says when you go to the SuperMac
and swape your card, the superman is getting a view
of everything you buy, where you live, how they can
contact you. It can seem quite benign data as are
(37:34):
giving away, but actually used to be the most benefit
for businesses to see what specials work and what specials
don't work. It's a huge data pool. So yeah, they
are selling their data and they're saying the biggest vulnerability
is that could open the floodgates for more dynamic pricing.
So that could be in the future dynamic pricing comes
up and you could be charged more depending on your
(37:54):
shopping habits. I don't know how that would happen. That
might be something you can mention to, but all the
lines are available fourteen past nine. If there's anything exciting
when you were you I let us know. There might
be some other topic you want to talk about. Let
us know you might doing something interesting tonight. You might
be doing Uber Eats deliveries. You might be out and about,
you might be in your shed making something. All this
is of interest to me, so are the things you
(38:16):
want to set the world on fire with. Let us
know you might want to talk about the football World
Cup and these drinks, these duned and drinks I've never
heard of, Marcus, where are you going to buy a
West Chocolate drink at quarter past twelve? A brand like
that won't be not I don't go to the Night
and Day. I'll go to the dairy on the way
(38:38):
out of town. I bit I find it so one
on the left past the Night and Day. I think
it's in WAYI kiwi yeah, Marcus, because evs make no
noise on startup. Chinese electrical vehicle Giant BYD has Paident,
(39:01):
a new artificial intelligence powered safety technology designed to detect people, animals,
and other living organisms hiding beneath park vehicles before they
start moving. Marcus, I remember West's Cordials were in South
and Eden back in the sixties. Dad used to buy
a crate of drinks every Christmas. Marcus West's orange and
(39:24):
mango is refreshing. Marcus West's were cheap drink when I
was growing up in Need, and they were at every
school fair and disco in the eighties. You don't hear
that the Eden band singing about them? Do you what's
that about? You would accidentally choose a chocolate as they locked.
It looked a lot like cola and the trays were mixed.
It was always left the left over row at the end.
(39:46):
They had redecorative bottles, much like the original soda stream ones.
Pineapple and pear is sold flat like a juice that
slightly burns your mouth, or is available carbonated. Their creaming
soda is also good. I last purchased at South and
Eden Pack and Save. Come on on to about West
and who still has regional drink brands in their town?
(40:06):
Because whists. I think we need to celebrate that. But
why in't the Vilaine singing about that? Maybe there are songs,
Maybe there's just viled references. I never got Canary Bulldogs
playing the Titans twelve four? Not many at this match.
They're both bottom mate teams. Goodness me, the Bulldogs so
should be better than that. Haven't fired credits? No good Crichton,
(40:26):
they got the mother guy too, an expensive guy from Tigers.
He turned to that young whipper snapper turned out to
be no good lucky Galvin. Don't know what's gone on there,
crisis of coaching or something, chocolaid. I might even go
at the ten o'clock breaking gets something. I don't think
I have time. Oh it was a good first how
the second hour sucks a bit?
Speaker 15 (40:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (40:50):
I don't know what I can say about that gets
you going. I'll try most of my stuff and the
photos inside your mouth? Could you never know what you know?
Speaker 10 (40:57):
You knew?
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Dn't you teeth look like? Do you use fillings? And
I've got my Club Plus card. Not much to look at.
Just got that kind of the fizzy creature on a
Club Plus so I'll be scanning that tomorrow. It's a
hoighly over weekend made from ninety nine percent recycled plastic.
Good on them with the bar code. There's another topic
you want to kick off, that would be good. I
(41:20):
always like to find out how the economy is going
to if you're on Uber driver out, if you're Auckland,
Will's and christ watch, how busy are things? Seems like
it seems like the economy is picked up, well, not
the economy, but the kind of you know, people out
there doing things is a bit busier, I hope. So
oh wow, what a sweet looking baby. Oh she's gorgeous, Johnny,
What a calm, beautiful looking baby. Wow, jeepest, two lovely shots.
(41:45):
Thanks for that. I'm excited about that. Anyway, get in
touch of you on talk. That's the situation. There's something different, Oh, Dentcheres,
there's a bit of discussion about dnches these days. How
old are you when you lose your teeth? Is it inevitable? Look?
Can you keep them? Or is it not worth a hassle?
Oh by the way, hello to all the snow groomers
out there as well. And we've got some of the
(42:06):
making ice at the Bush Creek outdoor Ice drink and
arrow Town Cheers Ghost five people there, brilliant, but be
in touch if you want to talk. Twenty past nine, Yeah,
I think probably it's going to be slightly wintery and
cent fotago this weekend. It seems like the snows kicked in. Yeah,
good evening, Ken, This is Marcus, Welcome.
Speaker 4 (42:28):
To leave the margush.
Speaker 12 (42:30):
I'm just wanting to bring up the subject of Wayne
Brown talking about this ingestion charge and how's this going
to work? Because the thing is it said between certain hours,
like busy times in the morning, all the congestion. But
the thing is the majority of the people who's on
the road at that time you go on to work.
So you can't change the time, Pa, you can't change
(42:52):
the time that you go to work if you're leaving
at six o'clock in the morning. It's not about charge
and five dollars a day.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
It's been very successful congestion charging in New York and London.
Speaker 12 (43:06):
What about all the people they're going to have to
have exemptions?
Speaker 2 (43:09):
Oh well they'll find ways around it.
Speaker 12 (43:11):
Well, if you don't pay your if you don't pay,
if you just in charge, you'll get FOD seventy dollars.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
Yes, that's right. Are you a thing? Are you a
k Yeah?
Speaker 12 (43:20):
I take a young lady who Aukland Hospital three days
a week.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
But that won't that that won't necessarily be the first thing,
will it.
Speaker 12 (43:30):
Oh it's I figured out with five trajection more and
just be there for seven o'clock in the morning.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
Is she working as your patient?
Speaker 12 (43:36):
Not your patient?
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Okay?
Speaker 12 (43:38):
Go for dialysis?
Speaker 2 (43:40):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (43:42):
Is she?
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Is she on the waiting list for a new organ?
Speaker 4 (43:45):
No?
Speaker 16 (43:45):
No, unfortunately she she can't help they She did have
a transplant back along, but she was born with a
disease that destroyed her kidneys. So the kidney that they
gave her because they removed her to the original kids kidneys,
and then the other kidney that they gave her is
packed up as well, so they removed her as well,
so they won't be giving her anymore.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
I can unders. And you're consumed you'd have to get
an exemption, wouldn't you.
Speaker 16 (44:09):
I mean a lot of other Uber drivers, Pasay drivers,
all those sort of people.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
We'll talk more about it, Ken, thank you, thanks for
raising it. Jennie, it's Marcus. Welcome.
Speaker 9 (44:21):
Oh Jennison christ Church.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
Hi, Jennon christ Church.
Speaker 9 (44:25):
Just ringing to tell you what's on in christ Church tomorrow.
It's all go after the cold weather?
Speaker 20 (44:30):
Is it it is?
Speaker 9 (44:32):
We've got the home show. I can't remember where that is.
It's out with.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
Horn Castle, will it?
Speaker 9 (44:40):
Yes, that's it, Horme case Verena called horn Castle. I
think it's maybe called something else. I'm not one hundred
percent here. And at Pioneer Park they've got the e
craftment market.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
No, I wouldn't be called that, wouldn't.
Speaker 9 (44:58):
That's what it's called in craft market.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
Because there's another crowd that always does craft markets around
the south. They must have had a falling out.
Speaker 9 (45:05):
No, No, I been there before per Park.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
What's the other what's the other craft market called?
Speaker 9 (45:12):
Oh there's one downtown. There's one out at Rickerton. Okay, yeah,
just a once that sort of a thing.
Speaker 2 (45:20):
Yeah, we had one down south. It's called something different anyway.
Do you sell stuff there?
Speaker 9 (45:28):
No? I don't, but I bought some lovely what were
they skin? Oh, I don't know if that's what you
call them? Earrings? Yeah, I can't think of the name
of them.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
Let's try and explain what they look like.
Speaker 9 (45:48):
Oh, leather ear rings.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Is that what they're making?
Speaker 9 (45:54):
Like so cold?
Speaker 4 (45:56):
Wow?
Speaker 9 (45:57):
Like a year, they're so cool. There's the front and
a back. There are are ten different shades of ten.
In the front are sort of a longish oblongist lengths,
and then at the back they're black and white. So
quite trendy for the old girl.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
Really trendy for the old girl too. And you wear
those a bit.
Speaker 9 (46:16):
Well, I've got lots of earrings, but I've also I've
also got a trendy dress to wear.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
To wear to where to wear?
Speaker 9 (46:25):
We're in craft market tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (46:28):
Are you wear that there?
Speaker 9 (46:30):
Yeah? I am.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Hang on, So you're buying stuff at the craft market
to wear to the craft market.
Speaker 9 (46:35):
No, I bought it at Dangerfield.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
Jeepers, creepers.
Speaker 9 (46:38):
You have one in the cargo.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
I've seen them round.
Speaker 9 (46:44):
Oh, there used to be one Underneden but it went
by the bye. But there's Wellington Auckland. Christ Shoots is
one one in christ shuts at Rickson mall and it's
so trendy. It's got fungi on it as a mushrooms.
Really my friend, my friend caught mere yesterday and I
(47:06):
told him about my new dress and he said, oh,
fun guy. No, I said, I'm not looking for a man.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
Goodness sung guy? Has he got mushrooms on it?
Speaker 9 (47:19):
All different kinds of mushrooms with their names? Really trendy?
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Has it got the Aaron Pedison on it?
Speaker 10 (47:25):
No?
Speaker 9 (47:26):
But I heard her on the radio the day before
and I thought, oh, criky it?
Speaker 4 (47:31):
What was was it?
Speaker 2 (47:32):
The death care? Is a death cap on it?
Speaker 9 (47:35):
I haven't looked at them all because it's like two sides.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
I reckon a lot of people are going to actually
invade your bubble and make sort of comments with that,
because people will be saying things like what will they
be saying, do you think with your mushroom dress?
Speaker 4 (47:51):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (47:51):
They'll say how trendy? Like they do with my zebra
won my cat's dress. I've got twenty seven?
Speaker 21 (47:58):
Now?
Speaker 2 (47:59):
Is it like it's like a nineteen fifties looking dress?
Is it with a skirt? With a skirt and a bodice?
Speaker 9 (48:04):
And you think they make them pretty? Well, all alike
with a sort of a gather that's sort of there
by the.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Way, sometimes with small cap sleeves, is that right?
Speaker 9 (48:15):
Yeah, this one's got a small kept sleeve. Yeah, particular
one with buttons down the front.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
Brilliant janous, Well, that was a more interesting conversation. I
thought that the mushrooms look fantastic or toadstools? Hard to
tell anyway, they catch you half priced sixty three dollars,
Catch you soon. Lizzie's Facebook message us the power is
back on in the Hut Valley after seven and a
half hours, so that's a long time without power. So
(48:41):
it seems like sum's coming back. And I haven't heard
of more outages, so that's good news. Marcus. People be saying,
lady and Beef Wellington dress, yes they could. How do
we feel about home shows? It's like going shopping these days,
isn't it. There's just people with thinking that, well, I
don't know if I are we going to a home show?
Speaker 4 (49:00):
You do?
Speaker 2 (49:01):
There's some of those Winter week is well what shall
we do? And there's something on the staying oh, I
might go to that, but yeah, I don't know about
a home show. If you gut a guard or something.
I suppose the place to go to. I want to
talk about these West strengths and the trolleys and people
that have a people's mentality when they start buying lotto.
(49:22):
What do you think of a tree any fools on you?
Do you think, well, I'm lucky or do you think
you're about to get lucky? The psychology of that if
you want to chime in on that. And the football
for tomorrow too. If you think the Keywhiz can beat Belgium,
be a surprise, but why be a pleasant one? Nothing
to lose, I guess they'd have that mentality, get out
there and just go for gold. See I'll tell you what.
(49:42):
If you're looking for that dress, it's called a danger
field fungi dress. That's the situation there. I don't think
it comes to the red belt, but the woman there
is wearing it with the red belt and a black
or a yeah anyway, that's the situation. I've never seen
one of those before. Be more a summer thing, I
would think. Now, who wants to chat on air? There
(50:03):
might be different stuff you want to talk about. Good
on anything tonight. If you've got something, let me know
what it is. Oh eight hundred eighty ten eighty and
nine nine two to text. Anything goes for the final
Well it's not the final hour yet, is it football?
If you're a super fan, well, we beat Belgium. Unlikely
but possible if we get out there with nothing to lose.
(50:25):
Get it to just Eli, Just and Chris Wood between them,
they can work some magic. That tall guy at the
back with that hitter. There's some good combinations there. So yeah,
I'll watch it. I'll watch that, and I will watch
the Warriors. I think they're tomorrow night. That'll be me
for the weekend. I've finished watching out Last. I enjoyed
that immensely, and that to me sorted for the weekend.
(50:49):
But I do want to hear more about West's drinks
chocol Aid, but most people saying really the only place
they're available. Was it like school fears when you get
the budget drinks, but fan them selling sending energy drinks
to Africa. There's a lot of things you can send
to Africa, but energy drinks me one of them. Spells Richard,
this is Marcus, welcome.
Speaker 11 (51:10):
You just want the subject.
Speaker 17 (51:12):
I just thought, what change are you're wearing? Are you
wearing clears or stove? Pipes or begging the bum or not.
Speaker 2 (51:25):
It's a good question, because I'm out of step with
the jeans, right.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
And I had to go and buy Levi's five O ones.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
Yeah, but I had to go and.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
Get them hemmed. No, not Hemmed, that's terrible.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
Not here. I didn't get them, Hemmed Richard.
Speaker 3 (51:52):
I went.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
I had to get go and get Levi's fire and
I can't think of where I'll get them. I need
another pair. But this is the story, right. I would
to get Levi's five O ones. But the only ones
I could buy because these days were ones that had
rips in the thigh. Ah why because they're the only
ones I could get of the style I wanted, right, No,
(52:14):
So then I had to Then I had to take
them to my mate, to the dry cleaners to get
them patched.
Speaker 17 (52:20):
No, you can buy a spy though one.
Speaker 20 (52:22):
Not.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
I'm an in Vicago. I've got limited options.
Speaker 4 (52:28):
How much were they?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Well, I think that's been about I'm not sure, because
I tried to buy a replacement pair. I went to
one show. They sent me across the road to I
don't They might have been seventy or one hundred and
twenty oh.
Speaker 15 (52:40):
That'd be one hundred and twenty. They won't be sun but.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
They're perfect foot. They look great, oh friend, And but
if if I could find another rip pair, I would
and I'd get them patched to the front again, would absolutely?
Speaker 17 (52:54):
Do you get the patch on the front or behind.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
The rot on the front on the front, Yeah, like
the front patches of the front pitch is about a
foot long down to the knee. So you bought a
one hundred, and you asked Richard, we know, we don't
know if there one hundred and twenty, they could have
been seventy.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
They were seventy.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
I think they might have been on special. No, No,
well are you are you? Are you John the jeans expert?
Speaker 17 (53:25):
I like my jeans because.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
The last jeans I got, the last jeans I got,
I got five peers of five O one which were
brand new dark dark dark denim.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Nice, nice old.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
What's that place I like to go to? Drissmart?
Speaker 4 (53:42):
Oh?
Speaker 17 (53:43):
Yeah, yeah, second hand?
Speaker 2 (53:45):
No, Dressmark's new. Drissmart's the factory. Second, you know the
excess shop?
Speaker 21 (53:50):
You know?
Speaker 4 (53:51):
All right?
Speaker 17 (53:51):
Said what it is?
Speaker 16 (53:52):
I thought a chicken hand.
Speaker 17 (53:54):
It's that new like extra or something.
Speaker 2 (53:58):
Richard, it's a different this, there might be this is
the dress Smart in Auckland, right, it's all like factory second,
it's all like a brand new stuff.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
Oh okay, sorry, but I think there might.
Speaker 2 (54:09):
Be two types of dressmarts.
Speaker 17 (54:11):
Yeah, because I go to a Dressmark. I don't live
in Hamilton. I live in Bronia. But like the ones
in Hamilton, that's still of like second hand.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
An al kind of outlet shopping. Okay, okay, So what
are you What jeans are you wearing?
Speaker 17 (54:29):
I think I'm wearing five O ones as well.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
But I get mine altered, well, so do I, Richard?
Speaker 17 (54:37):
I know, but I don't why the ripped one by
one that because I'm only small. Yeah, I don't like
the end cut on my foot, so I tape for them.
Speaker 2 (54:52):
You tape of them?
Speaker 19 (54:53):
Yeah, you don't like that?
Speaker 2 (54:54):
You don't like the ends?
Speaker 17 (54:55):
What I don't like the end of the five ones
are too fleary?
Speaker 11 (55:00):
So I tapeer them.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
Wow from the knee or the whole way down?
Speaker 17 (55:05):
Yeah, no, from the knee.
Speaker 8 (55:07):
Do you do it?
Speaker 2 (55:07):
Do you do it yourself?
Speaker 9 (55:09):
No?
Speaker 4 (55:10):
No?
Speaker 17 (55:10):
I take them in and get them done for about
thirty bucks.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
Take them in to get them taken in in the eighties.
We're all taking our jeans and doing it ourselves on
the soone machin can write downward go stovepipes, brilliant, Anay,
think I've got too much for myself. Here, hold your horses,
Natasha and Jillian, with your with your sown, Natasha. It's markets.
Good evening and welcome.
Speaker 9 (55:30):
Hi.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
How are you good thinking, Natasha?
Speaker 22 (55:33):
I'm just calling up about your bald eggs for a
dollar fifty.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
It's the cheap ones. You're two thirty at the other supermarket.
Speaker 22 (55:42):
Well, I saw duck eggs in a local supermarket for
two dollars fifty each.
Speaker 4 (55:48):
Wow.
Speaker 13 (55:49):
Yeah, so I crypt or raw?
Speaker 22 (55:53):
They were raw?
Speaker 2 (55:54):
Do you see do you sell your quai legs to
the Pioneer.
Speaker 22 (55:59):
So I was talking to you a few weeks ago
about quay leagues, and I have them at the Sunday
Market and then the caddle at the railway station, and
I also sell them the agency markets. I also, when
I was talking to you, didn't get to mention that
the chef Ethan Fleck bought my eggs for the Scott Memorial.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Oh yeah, I just had a I had to. I
had to buy a meat pie the other day with
quaile eggs in it.
Speaker 22 (56:28):
Oh wow, where was that from?
Speaker 2 (56:29):
From the Pioneer? As I was saying, yeah, so where
is there that?
Speaker 22 (56:33):
Sorry, I don't know where the Pioneer is.
Speaker 2 (56:37):
Okay, delicious have a lot great looking pie. It's an
award winner.
Speaker 22 (56:42):
That's amazing.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
It's like a Filipino inspired pie with two eggs in it.
Speaker 22 (56:47):
Wow, I'll have to have a look at that. So
I got onto YouTube, like they came and brought a
full film crewer out story bites they're called, and it's
a it's a film channel and they've got well they
did have when they came out, sixty six thousand followers
(57:09):
in three different countries.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
And I was astonished, Like they did they charge you
for it?
Speaker 9 (57:16):
No?
Speaker 22 (57:16):
No, they came out, they miked me up, they put
all these they had three guys with cameras and they
miked me up and everything else. And I was just
like flebbergasted, And yeah, they came in and they filmed everything,
and I'm now world famous on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
And Southern were they based?
Speaker 22 (57:41):
I think they are based in christ Church and also
some of the guys I think are in Melbourne.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
And what's what's the what's the angle of the story.
It'd be to be more than just someone grown quall leagues,
wouldn't it. What's the angle?
Speaker 22 (57:54):
The whole thing like for that story was the Scott
Richardson Memorial Dinner. Sure that they did, but they showcase
a lot of local and international foody things. It's all
food based.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
What's what's the what's the channel called?
Speaker 3 (58:17):
It's called story Bites brilliant.
Speaker 2 (58:19):
Thank you, Natasha, Jillian, It's Marcus. Welcome.
Speaker 9 (58:23):
Hello.
Speaker 23 (58:25):
I know that from time to time you have people
on who say that the psychic or something. Yes, and
I have misplaced my grandad's war medal, okay, and.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
It's on a shelf. It's on a high shelf.
Speaker 23 (58:42):
We don't have any high shelf, well.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
Not yet, okay. Is it around your house?
Speaker 20 (58:48):
Yeah, I.
Speaker 23 (58:51):
Haven't seen it for a while and I thought it
was with his service certificate, and I found the certificate,
but I can't find a medal.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
So it's one medal, just one. Yeah, And it's not
just the corner. It's got the ribbon that it's hanging on.
Speaker 23 (59:07):
No, the ribbon's gone. It's just just like a coin
size on us.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
But so it hasn't gone outside the house, not that
I'm aware of you didn't take it to Anzact Day
or anything like that. Nope, I can appreciate your desperation.
When did you last see to just say.
Speaker 23 (59:26):
Oh, my grandson was wanting it for a school project,
so that's why I was trying to find it. And
I found the certificate, which I've photocopied for him.
Speaker 4 (59:37):
And.
Speaker 23 (59:39):
Yeah, and I can't find the metal, so yeah, and
it's the only.
Speaker 2 (59:43):
Thing I've got of Okay, we need to find this.
Speaker 23 (59:49):
I will be listening, hopefully.
Speaker 2 (59:52):
I'm not folished with I'm not is it is it
a is it a lot a clutter in your house?
Or is it quite a tidy house?
Speaker 23 (01:00:02):
It's pretty tidy. Yeah, okay, yeah, somebody might have an idea.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
And how long have you spent looking for it?
Speaker 23 (01:00:11):
I've spent a couple of weeks searching, Okay, and.
Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
You've looked everywhere. You've looked everywhere.
Speaker 23 (01:00:17):
Well obviously not because I haven't found it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Yeah, it's going to be the last place you look.
I will ask people, right, but bearing in mind these
people in these people I suspect don't have any ability
or psychic powers, but I don't know what information they need,
So just hold there a minute. Could people text me
if any questions I need to ask Gillian to help.
(01:00:41):
So they might want to find out your date of birth.
You know, I don't know what they need to do.
They might they might need to get more of a
vibe from you if they're going to work out where
it is. Okay, yeah, so if you've got any questions
for Jillian that you can ask her before we let
her go. So it's maybe what I need to do
so we can actually then what's it's just a servicement
(01:01:02):
And I shouldn't say just, but it's it's it's the
medal of every soldier got right?
Speaker 23 (01:01:07):
No, it was to do with Gallipoli.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Oh hell okay.
Speaker 23 (01:01:12):
Now I'm just frantically going through my bits and bobs
now to get the certificate out. So if they need
his information like data booth or anything, I'll have that
at hand. But I've just got to.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Someone says, my daughter and upper Hut Mounts medals, and
you can get replacement medals. But that wouldn't be the same,
would it. I have no idea because he's touched this,
hasn't it. It's been a connection to him. Yeah, okay,
I will see what I can do and while I
can find out if anyone knows anything, but just stay
by the phone in case e one needs any more information. Okay,
(01:01:52):
good luck, Jillian. Someone said no sign of the middle
and Wellington. Sorry mate, thank you for that. Marcus. I
hear you say you're going to watch the Warriors gave
at seven tonight. What about the a in Premiership Final
with I'll still surely you'll be watching that. Don't don't
do nipple. Hang on, Jillian, Jillian, have you got a
blanket box? Well, yes, so it's in there.
Speaker 23 (01:02:18):
Okay, I'll go and have a look and i'll combate
to you.
Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
Brilliant good if it was good, even tid it's Marcus.
Welcome Marcus.
Speaker 18 (01:02:30):
It's just just an idea that lady, the young lady
that rang before. What she could try is one of
two things. Try the local military barracks. Well where was
she from, christ Churchill? I don't know, Auck. And if
(01:02:51):
that doesn't work out, then to write to the Ministry
of Defense people and ask for not just the medal
but also the recommendation the citation. Rather in writing I'll
probably asking to spend but three dollars to do it.
But you know, let's face it. I mean that's what
they're there for.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
You know, I appreciate you. Thank you, Ron, It's Marcus welcome.
Speaker 24 (01:03:16):
Yeah, I can put you right on the picture, mate.
Those medals have got the soldiers number on them. Now,
the only the original ones are the only ones.
Speaker 14 (01:03:28):
Now.
Speaker 24 (01:03:28):
My dad is a Gillipoli He did four years and
one hundred and eight days in the First World War
and he was one of the first guys to get
to the top of Gillipoly. Now and also after that
to France. Now those medals his number was ten ten
(01:03:52):
two and anyway to put you in the picture. These
medals have got that the originals are the only ones.
If you don't find those originals, you're wasting your time.
You can buy you.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Do you know where they are on no her medal.
Speaker 17 (01:04:13):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 21 (01:04:14):
Where he is.
Speaker 24 (01:04:15):
And also some of my father's ones were loss.
Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
Now I got to go wrong because that's what she asked,
and she's standing by. Someone says, tell it, look in
a blanket box. Someone says, the medals will be in
an old tobacco tin. The medal is under a couch.
Someone thinks the grandson took it, and someone said, it's
in the knife and fork drawer. Brilliant. Hi, Marcus, a
friend of mine, I lost something important to me, said
(01:04:41):
to pray to Saint Anthony, the patron saint of finding
lost things. It has worked for me for many times.
I'm not a Catholic, Marcus. Three steps for finding things
are go back and look everywhere a really looked, methodically,
ruling out of your mind the color and shape of
the container you thought it was in. Think about exactly
(01:05:02):
where you were the last time you saw it. Now
stop looking at all, and within two or three days
a couple of places look will come to mind, and
you will likely find it. Bears says, what's a blanket box?
But Bears isn't looking. It's a box made of blanket
Bears find it. Find it fine. I think it will
be in the blanket box. If it's not there, I
(01:05:24):
think it's in the cutlery drawer or an old tobacco tin.
She's found it, Dan, she found it. She's come back in,
she's come back through. Is she has she found it?
What is it in an old Is it an old
tobacco tin? Or in a knife and fork draw or
under the couch? Could you ask you to check those places, Dan,
I really thought she was sure it was going to
(01:05:45):
be in the blanket box. Any more suggestions for Gillian,
someone's it? What about a coat, jacket, pocket and the wardrobe,
asking about the cut jan Gillian, coat jacket, pocket, wardrobe, Marcus,
an animal has played with it, and it's under the fridge.
These are all good suggestions. It's normally in a jacket
that you don't wear. We found everything in our gem.
(01:06:06):
It's always where do I find them? It's always it's
in the jacket, a jacket you haven't worn forever. It's
always in a jacket, pocket, a jocket. Some more suggestions,
suggestions dressing, gown, pocket and someone else blaming the grandson,
which thing's bad? Took it and lost it? I don't
think they would. I don't think that's going to happen.
Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
So there we go.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
There's that Gillian has lost your father's medal the middle
from Gallipoli. If you know where it has, let us know.
She's asking people the psychic ability, although I wonder about
our list's ability, because someone suggested St. Anthony, but then
someone else says the patronate of lost things is Saint Christopher.
Although he was a saint of travel. But it seems
it seems to me to trivialize religion when there's a
(01:06:49):
saint of lost things and less it's like lost children.
You know, you know I'm saying it sounds like is
that really what they should be spending their time doing?
It is Sant Anthony of Padua, so he's a patron
state of lost things, and the lost thing could be faith.
It's a good thing you haven't lost your faith. Dressing
gown pocket, an animal played with it. I'd be having
(01:07:10):
strong words with a grandson. Lost metals up high near
itemsled to play a creativity on top of the wardrobe,
top shelf and a seldom used wardrobe. Does she have
an old army jacket of his? Check the bath draws? Wow,
you ever seen a bath with drawers? But it's a
good thing. Pull out drawers and look behind the drawers.
(01:07:33):
I'd be suggesting looking in a spare second handbag, maybe
one that's used for different occasions. You're speaking from experience.
You're right about pockets. Couldn't find my lighter for the burner,
getting annoyed? No, like an all deep at the search.
Yesterday's pants pocket always the pants, pockets, the medals in
the middle drawer of the bench of the bathroom bench cabinet.
(01:07:55):
If you actually generally have psychicability, could you ring and
let me know, because you'd be knowing this to be
on tonight. Oh wait, one hundred and eighty ten eighty Now,
anything else you want to amuse us with tonight? I'd
like to resolve this tonight. Coat, jacket, pocket and the wardrobe.
An email says, oh, this is a very good one
from Simon. She mentioned photocopying the medal document. Did she
(01:08:19):
photocopy the medal? The medal might be in the photocopier.
I think we've solved it. Would she have a photocopier
at home?
Speaker 11 (01:08:26):
Though?
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Who knows what's going on in people's worlds these days?
And a cake tin behind a picture frame or still
pinned to the last item of clothing it was worn
on looking for gillians father's lost medal. Now, if you
can talk about that, you've run the right show. Now,
anything else we've talked about, how do you think new
Zen will do in the match tomorrow? Anything else goes tonight,
(01:08:50):
you might be out there doing something interesting with the
excitement of everything. I don't know if I can come
up with another topic for tonight, but yeah, be in touch.
Four zero Sydney roosters over Brisbane. That's sixth versus thirteenth.
Speaker 20 (01:09:03):
I think.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Brisbane is going to be the first for a long
long time to win the mind of the win the tournament.
They're not make the top eight, but that's fine. That's
their journey. Coach seems a bit of a hot head.
Eleven past ten in an apron pocket in the toy box.
These people with the plant pants pockets have floor drobes.
Has Gillian donated any clothes to an opshot lately? Could
(01:09:27):
be there. Check down the sides and back of all
lounge chairs and couches. Well, this is not psychic, This
is just Peel telling just where things end up being lost.
Rob's gonna help me out with a remote. Come on,
and if you've got any storm stories for Wellington, that'd
be good. Um So yeah, eight hundred and eighty ten
eighty nine nine two to text, get in touch if
(01:09:48):
you want to talk about this or anything else. The
cricket has started to New Zealand three sixty seven for
four a major. We'll bat to lunch and then we
will declare, ah, would we means what the picture is doing?
You want to talk about sport, the warriors or the
cricket or the football. There's three big things happening. Then
get in touch with us people. Any other news that
(01:10:09):
you've got or that would be important that it'd be
good to hear from you. Terrible that earthquake. Why do
they keep saying it's a double quake? Wasn't it just?
What do you play it? This is news talk sai'd
be breaking news? Jillian.
Speaker 22 (01:10:25):
Yes, I found it.
Speaker 23 (01:10:36):
Where it was in the middle drawer of the desk
under a tea like candle.
Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Wow. Because the tea like candle wouldn't be very big.
Speaker 23 (01:10:50):
No, but it was.
Speaker 9 (01:10:52):
It was.
Speaker 23 (01:10:53):
There was enough coverage from the tea like candle to
hold it. I don't have a middle drawer on a
bathroom cabinet, so I looked in the middle door of
the desk in the bathroom.
Speaker 2 (01:11:04):
Were in another room?
Speaker 23 (01:11:05):
No, lud, wow?
Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
And how long have you been looking a bit?
Speaker 23 (01:11:10):
Three weeks?
Speaker 25 (01:11:11):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
Oh that's made my night.
Speaker 23 (01:11:14):
So thank you for your help in the suggestions.
Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
Look, I didn't mean to upsetney one reading out things
about your grandson either, but clearly that's not true. There
it was under the tea light.
Speaker 23 (01:11:23):
Yeah, that's just he wouldn't have taken late.
Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
People just say what people say. They're just trying to
be helpful. Cock a hoop about that? Brilliant There we go,
There we go. It's the power of the crowd. Eh,
that's fantastic. Were you gonna put it now? Jillian? Somewhere safe?
She gone, Oh wow, cheapest creepers here? Very much breaking
us this year?
Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
Have we?
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
But I think that was entirely appropriate. Wow. Even I
was excited when I heard breaking news. What's it going
to be under a tea light? For those that don't
know a te Why is it called a tea light?
On those little kendles, isn't it? What is it called
a tea light? I know that sound like a dark question.
(01:12:09):
But why is it called a tea light? Because is
it light for tea? I don't know what it's called
a tea light? I can't answer that, but you I
need your calls to night people. But they're cheap. Not
if we let someone on twice? Oh wow, that's a
broadcasting highlight. Flip oh. It says they're originally designed to
(01:12:33):
sit in teapots. To keep tea warm. But that wouldn't
be right, would it. You tear be waxy, must be
a tea warmer anyway. Oh that's good. Someone's fallen out
of beard laughing Susan. The centler tag absolutely brilliant. Found
the precious metal. Oh wow, we didn't need any psychics. Godness.
(01:13:00):
The middle drawer. Someone says she should keep it in
the fold of the recline of foot rests. Is that
a good place to keep stuff? Scotty, it's Marcus, good
evening and welcome much.
Speaker 4 (01:13:11):
I literally just had something on in the background, so
I didn't Did she find it in the middle drawer? Yes, yeah,
that was my text.
Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Yeah, but it wasn't the middle drawer. She didn't have
a drawer in the bathroom, so she went to a
middle drawer in the lounge or something.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
I'm glad I got it closed then, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Yours, you've won. And it was do you know what
to tea lighters?
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
Yeah, it's one of those. It's a small candle and
like and like in it.
Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Like a metal, a metal I don't know what the
metal would be, like a tin and.
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
It like tinfoil sort of thing.
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
Yeah, it was underneath that so that must have been
the perfect shape. It was right under that, which, to
be fair, you didn't predict in it.
Speaker 4 (01:13:48):
No, no, sorry, yeah, I thought it was the middle
and I just thought it was the medal.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
You were that, you were the you. It was your
saying that because she went to the bathroom, couldn't see
little drawer. There's there's another middle draw.
Speaker 4 (01:14:00):
And then she found it brilliant, brilliant. Not since the
Yorkland have abridge closer has been such productions.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
No, that's brilliant. And someone says, what question makes the quiz?
The question would be where was Gillian's medal under the
tea light? I think I think that's the question, isn't
it for the quiz? Where was the medal? He's a
good boy. The grandson. Oh fancy Scott. I think he's
going to ring because he missed it like a super fan.
(01:14:29):
I missed it. I missed it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Where was it?
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Surprised? You have tea lights in the South Island? I
love a North Island South Island divide with the old
chicken salt now now now be in touch people of
New Zealand. After that, anyone else lost something, they want
to be helped. The audience to find. It's a service
we provide. I was sure it was going to be
in the first suggestion, the blanket box, because she's scurried
(01:14:54):
away for that. And the funny thing was she rang
you in the news. She's going to be and write
everything down. I'm thinking, well, that's a bit poor. You've
actually part nicked my show and now you're tapping out.
Then she must have kept looking and it's right to
the middle drawer. Wow, goodness, I reckon, that's our service
we could provide. Now lost things? What if I lost?
I lost my hat? Today we lose my hat about
(01:15:14):
ten times a day. Umm, gosh, I have a lost
of a club plus card? Who nineteen past ten? People
have you saying? Welcome to it if you want to talk.
Who's doing something?
Speaker 9 (01:15:29):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:15:29):
New world point Chevalier has chicken salt. I think it's
just Maggie. Chicken stock is all they use. We solved
the missing of the medal without psychic power, that's right,
although I would say that probably there was some sort
of shift when we're all thinking about it and helping
her think, that did focus her mind. That's my prediction.
(01:15:53):
Ah twenty past ten, gosh, it's been an exciting show,
what with baby Wyats being born and that tremendous photo
of Wyats are with her mother and Gillian's medal being found. Wow, goodness,
keep going. If there's anything else that you've got that
you want to talk about or mention, I don't know
what that will be, but all the lines are free.
Our start off talking about all manner of things. We
(01:16:14):
need to probably narrow it down now. The football on
the weekend also would be interesting if you think Belgium
is beatable. I'm curious about the Venezuela earthquake. They're calling
it a double shock. Is that unheard of? Is it
a thing? Because everyone seems to be saying that like
it's something quite important. It's a back to backer, a
(01:16:36):
doublet event. So you've got a seven point two and
then thirty nine seconds that he got a seven point five.
It's a one to two punch. Now, this is interesting.
This is where chet GPT's coming to its own. The
rapid succession of two high magnitude quakes a rare phenomenon
occurring only forty times globally in the last one hundred
and twenty years. That's interesting. That's exactly what I wanted
(01:16:59):
to know, so one two. So there you go, an
amateur seismologists. You might want a compy of that. But look,
I need your calls down to bring down from the
excitement of Gillian's meddle unbelievable. Well believe we're going to
believe it because I heard it. Wow. The only thing
that better would have been if she was if she
was crying with happiness. But I guess it was a bit.
I think she's still in shock. She'd be crying now
(01:17:21):
with relief. Anyone actually out there don't have any genuine, genuine,
genuine psychic ability besides myself. But it's about you. I
didn't want to say where I thought it was head
or twelve o'clock. If you want to partake Marcus till midnight.
Oh eight hundred and eighty ten eighty Trisha is Marcus,
Welcome and good evening.
Speaker 9 (01:17:41):
Oh hi.
Speaker 26 (01:17:42):
I want to address my comment to the lady who
rang up saying that Saint Christopher was the patron saint
of losing things. I had twelve years in a convent
school and I absolutely, absolutely am positive it was Saint Anthony.
And when I was five years old, my mother lost
(01:18:04):
to watch and I remember hearing her say, come on,
Sint Anthony, you can do it, and she found it.
And I've had many occasions in the years eighty eight now,
many occasions where I've prayed to him and he's never
eat me down at all. So I was more worried
(01:18:27):
about the people who were getting the wrong impression than
correcting the woman, because it's absolutely not not right.
Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
And what sort of time frame does Saint Anthony workin.
It's always been quite quick.
Speaker 26 (01:18:42):
Okay. Well, when I was a teenager, my boss came
in looking distraught. She said she'd lost her emerald ear ring,
and I was nineteen and full of them od. I said,
don't worry about that, Saint Anthony, You'll find it. Don't
worry about it, and I went out. She lived across
(01:19:06):
the road from where I worked, and there was the
road between, and then grass and then the fence, you know,
all the way across. I prayed to him and I said, now,
come on, find Anthony. Don't make me look a fall.
Five minutes later, I had it and I went back.
She thought, oh, you gave up pretty quickly, didn't you.
(01:19:28):
And I held my hand out and said nothing. She
couldn't believe it.
Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
It's funny that that was the first thing. She thought
you'd given up quickly. That's bad that she has a
lack of faith in you, doesn't it.
Speaker 26 (01:19:39):
She Well, she didn't didn't believe in me. You know
that's a bit point. Yeah, she thought that I'd given up,
that he hadn't done his job.
Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
No, where was the convent school you're at Trish.
Speaker 26 (01:19:52):
Well, I'm in Hamilton.
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
It was in Hamilton where you grew up to it.
Speaker 26 (01:19:56):
Yeah, Joseph, No, yes, and Joseph and my secondary one
was Oh, glory be I Glory be Ah, Sacred Heart,
Sacred Halt Convent.
Speaker 2 (01:20:14):
Yeah, of course it was Tresh. Thanks so much for
they're twenty seven past ten, looking forward to watching the
soccer tomorrow here and every week. Gisbone. Hope they have
the ability to change the game plan. If fleeded, great
memories for our fans and guys. Whichever way the games go.
What site has the Loto numbers? There'd be the Lotto site,
(01:20:35):
would it. That'd be my guess. I don't do Loto numbers.
I am annoyed with that guy that then he got
hit by a trees and he's going to buy a
lotto ticket. I can't quite work out the logic there,
but that's just yeah, that's just me when it comes
to people thinking the numbers have memories, memories, memories, memories.
(01:20:57):
Some of the powers slowly coming back on. But these
bad weather warnings are going to continue in Wellington for
a long while. Yep, so it's going to go right
through the night. I think the extremely strong ones. By
the way, there's also one person dead and multiple hospitalized
after suspected g HB overdoses across Wellington. That's what sort
(01:21:18):
of drug would you describe g HB as anyway, it's
a substance ecstasy fantasy I think people might call that.
But yeah, that's a worry. That's a real worry. Gave
a hydro so ut rates its full name or what
it was claimed to be, I guess would be the
(01:21:39):
proviso to put on that. Yeah, now welcome if you
want to be in touch people, maname is Marcus. So
that's great. That's a great conclusion for me that we've
got that worked out. That's a situation. Just a cricket score.
Dan three eight one for four so no wicket lost.
We lost on three. We stilled on three six seven
(01:22:00):
for fourth three eight one and halfway through the first
half in the Rugby League tonight's second game. Last year's
Brisbane are six and the Roosters Tedsco's team are also
on six. So it's all level there that I'll go
right through to about twelve. I will keep you up
to date with that. So that's a situation now. If
(01:22:21):
you want to talk about something else, get in touch
all these existing topics, get in touch. I think I
do want to ask again if people have psychic ability
after the I mean, and what was nice about that?
With the common sense helped to find that and just
a bit of enthusiasm for people helping her out. I
think that's what was about. She felt supported by us.
It gave her the confidence that she was going to
find it. It was the power of belief. Sounding of
(01:22:44):
a new age. Here's a bit of breaking news to
you for you. A big house fire in Parto Parumu
corner of Ratanui and amazing Garb road. I hope everyone
is okay. Thanks for that text. Now, So what am
I thinking? I'm seeing that? Wow, it's a wet, windy
night for a fire. I'm not saying that fires don't
(01:23:04):
normally happen when it rains. But that's that's not what
I thought i'd be reading about today. But thank you
for that information. Everyone's got the information. But that will
be challenging for the fieries today with the wind and
the likes. So there we go. Marcus Jullian found the middle,
not in some weird place you wouldn't have thought of looking.
She found it somewhere orthodox where should previously looked, but
(01:23:25):
not thoroughly. The first step go back and look thoroughly
everywhere you've already looked. I have learnt the hard way
to be systematic regards Owen. So what Owen's saying is
when you've lost something, normally you will find it in
the place you've already looked at. And they tended to
be true for me, so I agree with it. I
agree with your methodology. Owen. And anyone disrupted with flights
(01:23:48):
let me know about that too. I see that Willington,
none of the flights really have taken off. It was
two hundred flood of even know that many flights took
off from Willington in a day. A lot of flights,
a lot of travel disruption, a lot of people on
the news. I heard sort of better bit sounding of
bit antsy that their holidays were cut short. But you know, well,
I mean lucky going on holiday, I thought, But there
we go. There's that, Johnny. It's Marcus. Good evening and welcome.
(01:24:11):
Thanks for calling, no problem. What did you want to
talk about, Johnny?
Speaker 7 (01:24:16):
Oh, I was just the question about the Liam Lawson rumors.
Is that a record force or the.
Speaker 4 (01:24:24):
Herald?
Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
The Herald printed it. But I think I think if
I'm so obsessed with Liam Lawson news that they print
stuff they wouldn't normally. I couldn't work out why they would. Firstly,
I couldn't work out why they would have why he
would have lost his seat.
Speaker 7 (01:24:39):
Yeah, well he's doing pretty well for us for what
he's been through the last couple of years.
Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
And he said he's feeling good. Z City's feeling good
to to be talking about his future.
Speaker 4 (01:24:49):
Yeah, it's just.
Speaker 7 (01:24:50):
Interesting your published a news story regarding it with I
don't know what that's.
Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Well, it was a Spanish it was a Spanish report
that he that says so love was guaranteed the seat,
So I guess if yeah, I don't know, I mean,
looking at how far through is the season going. It's
only about halfway, is it, Yeah, I.
Speaker 7 (01:25:10):
Think, but they typically don't name the drivers or I
think the end of the season or yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:25:17):
It's just interested to know where where the where the
information actually comes from, the goods printed and the news sometimes.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
I mean, the only thing I would say is it
seems to be such a frenzy of information in the
sport now on the back of that Netflix series and
whatever that. Stories that wouldn't normally be stories now get
printed because they've got the appetite for people that wanted
from And he's a key I suppose. But I think
he'll be there next year, wouldn't you think.
Speaker 7 (01:25:42):
Surely I wouldn't know that. I think you'll get another
team if he's not there. He deserves to be waving
the flag. So I think he's really sort of a
good sort of person and a good driver and good representative.
So I think you'll do what needs to do.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
Yeah, he seems to be that sort of one. It
seems to be a cool I mean, all those times
the car seems to have been a dude, he seems
to have handled it's never complained and when it has
gone while, he's just done best in God then, and
I think you'd be very happy to have him.
Speaker 6 (01:26:09):
Oh yes, no, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
Not one of those hot heads anyway. Thanks for that
twenty five to eleven. But if you want to chat people,
you could talk about that too, if you like. Liam
Lawson twelve six Brisbone over Sydney City Roosters. Someone said
I saw many tarne assisting the earlier across the road.
Thank you for that. But yeah, there we go. We
(01:26:32):
found the medal. That was exciting for tonight. I think
that's the first thing we've ever found on the show
which is good. Now be in touch of there's other
stuff that you think you want to mention and talk
about tonight. I'll tell you what happened in the last
couple weeks. Everyone's been in a fairly good mood. No
one's been too irritable about stuff. I was someone a
bit a bit worried about the congestion charges, but fair enough.
(01:26:53):
You had to take someone to dialysis four times a week,
you wouldn't want that to be rattled by having to
pay seven dollars each way or whatever that's going to be.
It's twenty four to eleven. A lot of sport coming
up too, we've got the football and the cricket and
the Warriors all on this week in the crickets currently,
(01:27:14):
so that's happening, and we haven't lost a working a report.
I think we're going to get to about four hundred yet. Damn,
that can't be far away. Create six, create two. Sorry, yep,
but we are talking about supermarket trolleys. I'd like to
know more about West Soft drinks. That was a topic.
That and this Chockoler drink that there's been some talk about,
(01:27:36):
because it's not what I'm familiar with, free, brightly looking
drinks wests, so you might well have some experience of those.
That's a worthwhile topic. So yes, that's the situation. If
you want to talk about that or anything else. As
I say, oh, eight hundred eighty nine x twenty three
away from eleven twenty to eleven, I'll tell you what
(01:27:57):
I could tell you what. Mikey's here at twelve tonight, people,
so he's coming along after me. Something also said three
fire engines at airport. I don't know why Fion's got
any reports of that. Let us know, so yes, get
in touch with that too. So we've got a house fire,
part of part of Umu krnd of Rattanui a mazing
(01:28:18):
garb road that's happening tonight too, So a lot going on.
I will check if there's any more reports about that,
but need your calls tonight on this cold night. Make
the effort get out of bed. I have, although it
is my job or my hobby job. Seven thousand still
without power and the latest information I've got from that
is let me just have a look at the live feed.
(01:28:38):
I will do that as I talk. No, oh, yes,
here we go. The Transport Agency says the bed whether
it's affecting state highways and local roads SAIDs flooding and
the wided up. It means the detail of the State
fifty three way Hinga Bridge via Cahutata Road and Lake
Ferry Road is no longer available so you can't get
(01:29:00):
through to that, and State Highway to at Wangahwa is
also closed to northbound traffic due to flooding, and parts
of Marine Drive and Lower Hut are inundated. Other roads,
including in Sevie Waterloo and one Ua Mutter also swamped
by surface flooding, and the Hut River is rising to
(01:29:21):
two point eight eight meters twelve to twelve in the
league Brisbane, Sydney, not far from halftime. Good evening, David,
it's Marcus.
Speaker 21 (01:29:28):
Welcome, it's here, you're going, I'm going, okay.
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
Thank you? Yeah, no, god, real good Craizy week.
Speaker 21 (01:29:35):
About Jillian's end powers. Medals have been pretty unusual for
a person to get only one medal.
Speaker 2 (01:29:44):
I thought so myself.
Speaker 21 (01:29:45):
Yes, normally you get a campaign star as well. In
the country of origin. Was he an Englishman or a
New Zealander?
Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
I assume he was a New Zealander. I don't know
that because I thought New Zealanders would have been more
likely to be in Gllipoli, But that was my only thoughts.
Speaker 21 (01:30:01):
Well, if he was a New Zealander and Gallipoli, he
was terret of the three medals maybe here and the
miniatures as well. You can apply to the Defense Department
by ringing them in Wellington and they will send her
reform to fill out and she will copy the service
(01:30:25):
record that she has and post it back and as
provided with the medals at the cost.
Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
Sure, I would have thought. I would have thought that
if people have medals, do they keep them together or
would they split them amongst children?
Speaker 21 (01:30:40):
Children are own quiet, renowned for stealing medals. Whose very
attractive to them.
Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:30:50):
But what I'm saying is if you have if you
have medals and you give them to the next generation,
do people like to keep them together? Would like them
to split them amongst family members? I guess that's why
I'm trying to angle it.
Speaker 21 (01:31:01):
Well, that's what I'm going to do with my father's
medals them. We have one of his pals with the
miniatures to each of the grand children.
Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
Yeah, imagine that's what would have happened. So that might
be why Johnny had one of them, because they went
to the other siblings. That's day. Thank you, David, like
what you had to say, thank you, thank you, thank you. Yep.
Someone has just been awarded one hundred thousand dollars for
cracking the code that allows him to understand what him
or her to understand what birds are saying. The worker
(01:31:32):
out revealed how the birds announce who they are and
what they are doing and recognized one another. Goodness. So
it seems before long and all we are to talk
to animals. It's called the Doolittle Price with good reason.
So that's interesting, isn't it. Apparently it's just a sprinter
an investigation at christ at chair Put. But they need
(01:31:53):
to do those because Weinnington had the well that was
a proper fire, wasn't it. If you've got your report
to it, if you're out and about in Wellington, I
want like to know how windy it is one fifty ks.
You wouldn't want to be climbing Mount Calcao, which are Coco?
I guess it's pronounced thinking about that sixteen to tweleven
if you want to come through. Just been a couple
of quakes and Topaul have been felt two point seven
(01:32:15):
two point nine two point seven. That's seven minutes ago
three and I say that's three minutes ago and two
minutes ago, So a couple of quakes there. We're getting
a bit of ghost quake reading from that too, but
now it's just down to one I think two minutes ago,
but it was a two point seven, so it's been
a confusing report. Brett's Marcus. Welcome by Marcus.
Speaker 25 (01:32:37):
I have it calling up about an amazing house fire.
Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
Sure yeap.
Speaker 25 (01:32:41):
I just passed by it because I heard it on
your on your station and I just wanted to go
have a nose at it. And half the street is
blocked off and about four or five fire engines there.
So yeah, hope everyone's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
It is actually a fire. Yeah, and is it it's
windy and wet there.
Speaker 25 (01:33:03):
Ah, yep, it's raining right now and it is quite wendy.
Speaker 2 (01:33:06):
Because you don't want me to see fires in those conditions.
I mean, that's kind of what I'm thinking, but anyway,
I'm not. Yeah, okay, so that's a concern. So I'm
on Amazing Garb Road. What's the other road that it's on.
Speaker 25 (01:33:16):
It's on I think it's Rattanui.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Oh yes, copy got there and it's it's it's on
Rattanui Road, is it?
Speaker 4 (01:33:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
Okay, So it looks like it's well involved. The roads
closed off and there's a number of appliances there. And
that's Ratinui Road's a rural urban road. It's kind of
housed and it goes into the countryside.
Speaker 13 (01:33:34):
If I got that right, well, I wouldn't say it's
that rural.
Speaker 2 (01:33:38):
It's more lifetime. Yeah, okay, thank you, Britt. I see
I get more information on and so Amazing Garb Road
itself is not closed, is it?
Speaker 1 (01:33:47):
Ah?
Speaker 25 (01:33:48):
Half of it is right near the roundabout.
Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
Okay, appreciate that. There we go, guys, so howse far
and part of that's out near the I guess it's
not far from the car Museum. Well not to cross
the motorway from that. So there we go. That to
a situation, an earthquake and Topaul. We've got a sprinkle
investigation at Croach dear Port, we've got power cuts, we've
got a found medal, and we've got a house fire.
(01:34:11):
So it's all happening tonight, Marcus. I don't see dead
people or anything, well only on a couple of occasions,
but I've never sense of something happening before it happens,
like a roughy winning at the races. I've got a
good feeling about New Zealand winning against Belgium, as have I.
I think this might be the master planner. Oh hell,
someone sent me a picture from Traffit Fox. That's a
real big fire. That's a real big fire. So it's
(01:34:34):
really really wet there. I can see the rain on
the road. But there's a fire that's very much involved.
That's in Umu. So that's the situation there I've got
for you. Yeah, she's a big house fire. There a
halftime just about in the rugby of Brisbane. They might
have fily found form. Sixteen twelve up against the Roosters
just a minute left in the first half. Just scored again.
(01:34:55):
Now Brisbane, I think Reecee Walsh's back on the he's
on the Peican. He's having quite a good game. I
haven't watched much of it. I've been too busy doing
updates and stuff like that. I mean to be fear
it's not my job to sit here and watch rugby league,
but yeah, got to do it for updates. Eh yep.
Doesn't seem to be as hot in Paris today, does it?
(01:35:17):
On their banned alcohol? I did see occasionally. I follow
a website in England and I won't say that story.
Actually it sounds sound weird. Night Away from eleven someone
said you need to travel off the south of the
very next week next developer booking is Friday, the week
in July as the interimal re fleet has had ammission
for the next twelve weeks, one for a month, the
other for the next two months. Wow, thanks for that.
(01:35:42):
It's about lost things, PAMs. I've lost my marbles. Thank
you Pam for that. There's been a wicket in the
cricket he's in and now three nine to two four
five Mitchell is out for eleven. The last information for
you and West's soft drink. Marcus West's growing up around
(01:36:03):
the corner from West's, we regularly got glass flagons of
pineapp Flumpierre delicious Sunday nights, loaded trucks with drinks under
a tarp left outside. Great source of refreshment nineteen sixties.
But what you might know is you got a drink
called choca cola or chocola, which I've never tried, but
you can see it and sort of peck and saves
and stuff in the Lower South Island duneedan drink. They've
(01:36:26):
seen energy drinks to Africa and fruit drinks to the Pacific.
I don't think fruit's been near them. I mean they
seem to be highly yeah, well yeah, I don't think
they are. Well who knows. I shouldn't judge, really, but
you know, I'm not saying they're I'm not saying you'd
by them, but the health Fred chop Let's just put
it that way. Selling them ironically, store away from eleven
(01:36:51):
and if you've got something to contribute tonight that would
be welcome or appreciate it. Appreciate it. Do what you can.
If you want to come through tonight, call me now
or call me after the news, particularly if you've got
updates for what's happening in Wellington. We are playing Belgium
and Vancouver on Saturday at three pm. State of Origins
Wednesday the eighth, and the first All Black Test is
(01:37:13):
next Saturday. We play France and then Mataliki is on
their following Frida Day. They've got the Comwealth Games coming
in the twenty third of July and the general elections
one hundred and thirty six days away. You need to
enroll because unlike the previous two elections, you couldn't roll
a vote on the same so you count this time,
(01:37:34):
which is basically voter suppression, and to get around that,
you need to enroll now. Aj Hackett bunged from the
Eiffel Tower this day in nineteen eighty seven. Then I
think not long after that he did a very much
publicized bungee jump at Chase Plaza, which I did see
before Chase Plaza disappeared.
Speaker 1 (01:37:54):
This day.
Speaker 2 (01:37:55):
In a nineteen seventy seven Elvis Presley performed at Market
Square Arena in Indianapolis. It was his last public concert
and died the Dyne seven. I know that I get
him confused time wise with Lenin's Desk death. He did
die August sixteenth, seventy seven, so his last concert was
(01:38:18):
about six weeks before his death. So yes, nineteen seventy seven.
And by the way, next week we find out who
are the Mitchelin Star restaurants in New Zealand. Oh yeah'll
be all a fuss over it. I think, oh, well
food people got on together recognition, but you know, is
that really is it?
Speaker 4 (01:38:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:38:35):
Oh well it's happening. Get used to it. Sheesh two
point seven quake and Topel felt way bigger than that. Yeah,
I suspected it because the reporting of it was really confusing,
So it seems like it might have been. When I've
looked at the reporting of that quake, it does seem
weird because now it's got a two point seven, but
there was interially confusing because it seems to have triggered off,
(01:38:57):
triggered off all sorts of drums, and it's been felt
fairly widely. So yeah, I can sympathize whether I think
someone's felt it in Auckland, well, several people up there,
So it does seem we've been a white felt widespread
another wicket three nine three four six three nine three
four six. That's just just happened. How you go? People
(01:39:20):
findal owt for me. Let's make it a go on,
Let's make it alavy one. What have you got? Give
me a bes shot. There might be something humorous you've
got to say, or something that can light our mood.
Yeah it's Marcus. He been good evening.
Speaker 6 (01:39:31):
You good evening, Marcus. I don't know if you've heard
of the n z DD.
Speaker 2 (01:39:36):
So it's a crypto.
Speaker 6 (01:39:38):
Yeah, so it's the Razoo bank new cryptocurrency, the New
Zealand one, so it's it's made to run alongside our dollars.
So it's like one one New Zealand dollar ekulls one
zed d D Now. I started using it last week
and Mini Mart up the road for me the dairy.
(01:40:00):
I've started accepting it through pay it now out, So
basically I load money into the crypto which is instant,
and then I just tapped my phone like I would
you know if I'm tapping my phone with my visica.
Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
Okay, hang on, I've got to pick up the track.
Why haven't I heard of it?
Speaker 6 (01:40:19):
So it's just released by the Reserve Bank just recently.
I've only just heard of it last week and I
i'd sign up and I started using it, and it's great.
Speaker 2 (01:40:30):
What's the point of it.
Speaker 6 (01:40:32):
It's basically it's going to replace our dollar at some stage.
Speaker 2 (01:40:37):
Okay, so there's no there's no advantage to you. It's
still trans there's no advantage for you to be honor.
Speaker 27 (01:40:42):
Is there?
Speaker 6 (01:40:43):
Well right now, it's just you know, it's just kicking off,
so it's you know, it's going to take time to
get up and running properly. But it has been used
by a lot of businesses for international transactions because you know,
the US has got the same system, but I've got
a different it's called a stable coin, so crypto.
Speaker 2 (01:41:03):
So it's always going to be the same. It's always
going to be the same value as the dollar.
Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
It's always going to be the same daya as dollar.
It's never going to change. It's back by hard currency,
and you're in all banks, so you know, all banks
will hold it, and so it's back by hard currency,
so it'll never change, it will never go up or down.
It'll stay the same rate. You can send money, so
(01:41:27):
you go into the crypto wallet, and you can exchange
your n d D for the US d D version
and it switches over currencies within about two to three
minutes and then you can pay and it's instant payment,
so basically I can pay.
Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
How did you buy your original ended d D?
Speaker 6 (01:41:47):
So I bought it. I brought it from my bank accounty.
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
So you buy the crypto just on your just on
on your phone.
Speaker 6 (01:41:54):
Yeah, well, if you go onto it to explain young
d D there is a bank. It explains how to
set it up and what wallet to down at, crypto
wallet to download and then download to pay it now app,
which we'll let you pay a different merchants. So it's
slowly expanding. So but you can use it to buy
(01:42:14):
pussy charge, you can use it to pay for stuff online.
It's it's look, it's going to be great, and they
yield to it's going to be absolutely fantastic.
Speaker 2 (01:42:23):
Okay, I had no idea.
Speaker 6 (01:42:26):
Yeah, and there's no merchant piece, so there's no service.
You don't get stung with you know, when you go
to tap your phone.
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
And I think you're right, everyone's going to.
Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
Go to it.
Speaker 6 (01:42:37):
Yeah, when you tap your you know, you tap your
card and they charge your sewer charge fee on the payWave.
There's no payWave se charge on crypto.
Speaker 2 (01:42:46):
Okay, makes sense. We've been thank you for us. Nowhere
else got into that, Britt Marcus good evening.
Speaker 15 (01:42:53):
Him Mark.
Speaker 2 (01:42:55):
Welcome.
Speaker 15 (01:42:56):
Yeah you haven't even got a leader box and he
wants you to go a number on the internet, is it?
But anyway, I forgot what I was talking about again.
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
That's er you should write it down now.
Speaker 15 (01:43:17):
It was It was through with soccer anyway?
Speaker 2 (01:43:20):
Oh the flags?
Speaker 15 (01:43:21):
That was it? Did you managing directed?
Speaker 2 (01:43:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (01:43:26):
Yeah, Berkenhead they've got the fags. Every frag is really
it for every country all around berken Head. That must
be the soccer capital of.
Speaker 2 (01:43:39):
Oh a lot of English there. They're in the football
North shows. Are you have you been North jew your
whole life?
Speaker 15 (01:43:45):
You are born in takapoona hospital whatever it was North Hospital.
Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
They're pretty patialate about the football and the nor they'd
been there'd be football central in New Zealand. Wuldn't it
North Shore?
Speaker 15 (01:43:55):
Okay? The frags all around Berkey they've got the Zealand frags. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
Please, you found a bit of paradise there.
Speaker 15 (01:44:04):
Well, it's pretty cold here, how is it your place.
Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Before degrees tonight? But I'm happy nice to hear from you. Brett,
thank you sixteen past eleven. Yeah, that's a good idea
with the inded DD fancy been mins onto it, get
in touch, anything goes anyway. Where are the Clairvoyance? I'm
so pleased we found Gillian's meddle. That's been a career
highlight for me. And let's face it, she found the middle.
(01:44:29):
But we inspired her to look as I one always said,
it's always something you've already looked before, which I quite liked.
But if you want to make the make, you make
your move on the show for the I wrought court
for nineteen three four hundred, Yet Dan three ninety five
for six. We haven't really powered along in this last
session or this we always say last session. It's it's
(01:44:52):
been the last Arab three courts start at ten o'clock tonight.
Football tomorrow three pm. In the Wars the Warriors, they
play the Dolphins. The Dolphins are on a tear. They've
won seven on the trot and they are third on
the ladder and it's at home. It's in Brisbania, so
it's second versus third that it's five o'clock, so that's
(01:45:14):
going to be an exciting time. I'll be switching between
the football and the Warriors. I don't like calling them
the wise, but it's a five pm it must be
a super Saturday. We've got three matches five, seven and nine.
Loving that panther's playing the Cowboys and an eagle's playing
the Storm. Darrel, it's Marcus. Welcome.
Speaker 18 (01:45:34):
How are you doing, Darryl.
Speaker 2 (01:45:35):
I'm good, thank you.
Speaker 13 (01:45:38):
A couple of things. MZDD it's essentially a private company.
It's not banked by the Reserve Bank at all. It
is tied to the New Zealand dollar and it is
covered by New Zealand currency in a range of banks
across New Zealand, but it isn't the Reserve Bank that's
doing it. But people may think it's a very good idea,
(01:46:01):
but the reality is it offers you no benefit. In fact,
if anything, it's a negative because it allows the government
to actually track every single dollarge you spend. Really simple,
there is no privacy with it in any way, shape
or form.
Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
Okay, so involved with it.
Speaker 7 (01:46:15):
At your risk.
Speaker 2 (01:46:17):
So just we've said it's nothing to do with the government,
So how do they have so much oversight on it.
Speaker 13 (01:46:25):
Well, every single thing that you do in the crypto world,
our government can access. Okay, it's a public collibture.
Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
Okay, So you're saying that that's the same thing for
every bitcoin and stable coin as there, that that's it
can be all seen because I've seen people are now
caught up with text on earnings from crypto, right, and.
Speaker 13 (01:46:47):
How do you think they know about the money they're
earning because they have the ability to be able to
access the information. It's a public collibture. That's what the
whole cryptocurrency thing is about. It becomes basically everything you do,
(01:47:08):
everything you spend, will be able to be tracked.
Speaker 1 (01:47:14):
Do it at your risk.
Speaker 13 (01:47:15):
I will certainly not get involved in it. So they
will eventually try and remove cash from the system so
that you'll be forced to right.
Speaker 18 (01:47:28):
That to happen.
Speaker 2 (01:47:31):
So they've declared it's not a financial product.
Speaker 13 (01:47:37):
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
I see the Financial Markets Authority is issued a designation
is declaring the ECDD holdings limited use it and dollar
stable coin is not a financial product under the Financial
Market Conduct Act.
Speaker 13 (01:47:50):
Correct? Correct?
Speaker 2 (01:47:51):
That's what I mean?
Speaker 13 (01:47:53):
Yeah, which also means that it isn't backed by the
reserve band. So there is some risk involved. But the
risk because in terms of you losing money, you're not
going to gain anything from it financially because it's not
(01:48:14):
going to go up or down like bitcoin or ethereum
or whatever other coins you want to talk about. But
there is still risk involved in you being able to
lose money because if they somehow lose their thing, if
someone that's running this company does something that they're not
supposed to risk the loss, there is no potential for gain.
Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
Nice to hear from Adelle. Thank you for that, Graham.
It's Marcus. Good evening.
Speaker 19 (01:48:43):
Marcus medal. So I heard somebody talking earlier on saying
that they were splitting up medals correctly. Yes, yeah, not
a good idea.
Speaker 2 (01:48:56):
I wondered.
Speaker 19 (01:48:57):
If you want to trace the history of a particular
soldier and you only have one medal and you've given
the rest to somebody else, you never know where they'll.
Speaker 2 (01:49:07):
Finish up, so you've lost that, so that it means
that the complete information for that person is more likely
to go cold, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (01:49:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 19 (01:49:17):
Yeah, I've got my father's medals here, I've got my own,
I've got my aunties and my uncle's and just looking
at the medals, you can see they fought in World
War Two, they fought in Africa, they were in an
operational area for an extended period of time, they left
(01:49:37):
New Zealand what they call the Black and White Wonder,
and then all of a sudden you come to the
end of it and there's a New Zealand Defense Service Medal,
which meant that he went back into the army after
the war and served some time after the war and
back in New Zealand, so that those medals tell the
(01:49:58):
whole story. The First World War, there was typically three medals,
the nineteen Star or the nineteen fourteen fifteen Star, there
was the Defense Medal, and there was the Victory Medal.
Some people got all three a couple some people only
(01:50:18):
got two of those, But that tells you that they
were probably late coming into the war. But as I
say that, if a soldier's entitled to three medals, that
gives you a lot more detail about his.
Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
Experience. How do families normally run at succession when they
want to keep them together, they give it to the oldest,
or what's common practice.
Speaker 19 (01:50:39):
Generally the oldest. In my own family, my uncle gave
his to my cousin because they were closer than I
was to my uncle. When my cousin died, he gave
them to me. So I've got the family ones, and
later on in life, I'm going to be passing these
on to another cousin and she has actually got her own,
(01:51:02):
plus her children's. Her children will take it of them
because they've got their grandfather's medals from another from another
side of the family.
Speaker 2 (01:51:11):
So keep it, keep them, to keep them together is important,
doesn't it.
Speaker 19 (01:51:14):
Yeah, if you've got three, keep three. And if you
want to give them to children, get a set of
miniatures that the children. The children can have a set
each cheap. Depends on which medals you're looking at.
Speaker 2 (01:51:30):
I mean, does the army do those? Is there an
official group that will put.
Speaker 19 (01:51:33):
Out some numerous maticists? Okay, big words for you. There's
a big words for you. They will do it. Some
metal mountains will do it. I know one guy who
what they do they do?
Speaker 2 (01:51:47):
They strike their own.
Speaker 19 (01:51:48):
No, no, no, there is a supply around and they
know where it is. I know one guy who've got
a replica from the South African Boer War and that
replica was worth two hundred and eighty three dollars. So,
but some of them are fifteen. You can get some
unnamed ones on trade me or some of those medal
(01:52:10):
sides eBay. But go to a numerous matassist or I
can say.
Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
This website where you can get us in't there.
Speaker 19 (01:52:18):
Yeah, first check their entitlement with the appropriate defense authority.
They're served in Britain.
Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
Check with Britain before you go, Graham. Yeah, black and
White Wonder.
Speaker 19 (01:52:33):
Seven day, seven day wonder. All New Zealanders who went
overseas during World War two have got probably a red,
white and blue ribbon which is a the Defense Medal,
and that's a British Defense medal. And the black and
white or the seven Day Wonder is the New Zealand
(01:52:53):
War Medal for anybody who left New Zealand for more
than seven days.
Speaker 2 (01:52:56):
Appreciate it, thanks Graham. Twenty five, Part eleven. Marcus is
from Sonya Sonya, right hime, Marcus. Regarding finding a lost item,
quite off. If you trace your steps, you'll on the item.
I don't think a gypsy and a crystal ball will
do much good. And awarding those stars to a chef
bit of a fuss for of resciable mountain food served
on oversized white plate and you pay through the ohs Sonya. Yeah,
(01:53:17):
I don't disparage chefs. I just disparaged the fact that
we are looking for a French organization to rate our
own whereas I think our cuisine is sophisticated and imaginative
and original enough to have our own system. I don't
think we need the French to tell us which restaurant
should a mitchellin Star. I certainly don't disparage the ability
(01:53:38):
of our chefs in this country. I think some of
them are extraordinary. But yeah, but restaurants are doing it
tough for the cost of m crisis. It's probably not.
It doesn't really feel like value. Yeah, maybe are to
reach for most people at the moment, wouldn't it We
want less sixteen all Brisbane versus the Sydney City roosters.
(01:54:00):
I enjoyed that little quick chat about the old M
D d D. Darrel wasn't into it, was he? What
is bitcoin doing up or down for the year? How's
your old bitcoin? People? Six months? It's year to date
from a high of one six seven US ending dollars
to one hundred and five. So yeah, she's on a
(01:54:23):
bit of a's at the same place it was from
twenty twenty four. There's been no gains in the last
two years and no dividends. But oh well, come back Hester.
We've got the football against Belgium. We need to win that.
That's tomorrow at three. The cricket will go all night.
Terrible for us this time of the day, it's pretty
much impossible to watch. It's happening as well tonight, so
(01:54:45):
I'll keep you up there. And there's netball over the weekend,
although I'm not understanding. I just did that item before
on the eight o'clock news, but I don't know what's
happening with the administration of netball that they're saying that
it's not sure about what's going to happen next year,
And that's crazy. These are people's careers and they would
need some sort of continuity with that, one would think. Also,
(01:55:06):
if people have talked this week about the top party,
you might be excited about them, and how's that excitement
working out for you? So you're there at the threshold
of five percent, But there's been other countries, countries, other
parties at the threshold that haven't made it. Evening Clarence.
It's Marcus. Welcome.
Speaker 20 (01:55:24):
Hello Marcus again, it is always pleasure to talk with you.
And hello to Dan in the background there. And Joe
does a great job the congratulations on the finding of
the medal. My psychic ability suggested most of these things
(01:55:46):
are logical, that some hanky panky have been done and
somebody mysterievously had hidden it somewhere.
Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
That's been where your mind goes straight away to a
negative place.
Speaker 20 (01:55:58):
Well, I thought, well, she's looked for three weeks and
then it's going to be great. Yeah, so there's a
reason for coming to that, not a conclusion, but an idea.
And I thought, if somebody's just been mischievous and doesn't
realize what that metal means and several layers of the
(01:56:18):
human psyche, it's very, very valuable to a personal heirloom.
And she says the only one she's got of them.
Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
Too, would up would middles come in a box?
Speaker 20 (01:56:30):
They would come in the case. It depends on when
it was issued. They've probably changed different ways of doing
it now. But there also the sport coming up. Carrying on,
I should say, the cricketers in a very good position.
Strangely enough, it was mentioned that Jack Millson's Stury Dempster
(01:56:51):
held a record in nineteen thirty for the first team
to go to Lord's and play Britain from New Zealand,
and they had an opening partnership of over two hundred.
They both scored centuries and Jack Walls is my great uncle, because.
Speaker 2 (01:57:07):
I thought we were woeful at cricket then. But did
we have good moments?
Speaker 20 (01:57:10):
Yeah, we definitely did. Jack Morles as the left hander
stylish who's described as and here's my grand well on
my father's side, my father's father's father's brother.
Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
That's exciting. And did I presume we didn't go on
and win that test? Otherwise you would have told us, well.
Speaker 20 (01:57:29):
If they're on two of the cricket cards, I think
they must have well setting up foundation. I can't remember
what the score was. I should have looked at Wisdom's.
I probably did, but I'm semdy two down. I don't
remember what the scores were. Also, the interesting enough of
(01:57:50):
the Hurricanes and the Chiefs, I just my friend and
I were both astonished at how much they won by the.
Speaker 2 (01:57:59):
Six of us. I've never seen a performance like it.
I've never seen such domination.
Speaker 20 (01:58:04):
Yeah, and everyone has think this is going to be
a loveless final.
Speaker 27 (01:58:09):
It was just astonishing and they looked sort of remember
looking at Damon mackenzie and people, and they just looked
like they were just ambush.
Speaker 2 (01:58:20):
They had no answers at all.
Speaker 20 (01:58:22):
Astonishingly, you I thought, after his head, not Damien might
not have got to the final, and he was there.
But wow, and the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
The Chiefs had been quite good against the Crusaders the
week before, hadn't they They'd seen them off quite soundly.
Speaker 15 (01:58:38):
That's right.
Speaker 20 (01:58:38):
That's why we thought, well, that's their warm up. We're
in for a beauty. We were, but not the way
it panned out.
Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
Differently, you seem you seem to be a lot about sport.
I've heard no one really sum up why that was
such a dominant performance. I mean, is this coach a
super coach?
Speaker 4 (01:58:59):
No.
Speaker 20 (01:59:00):
I think it's the pride of the moment. They're playing
at home, home, crowd advantage, things like that, but also
who wanted it the most And it's up to the players.
The coaches can do all they can and the guys
me as fit as they like. But it's a I
can goal for any of these tennis and that is
(01:59:20):
the top two inches of your head and were hearted
and they really wanted it.
Speaker 2 (01:59:26):
It was unbelievable. I couldn't believe how good it was.
So oh, that's good to know. And will you give
the football a watch on the weekend against Belgium.
Speaker 20 (01:59:33):
Well, I'd like to, but I don't have television anymore,
clapped out and I don't miss the ads are tell
you in the flashing lights.
Speaker 2 (01:59:41):
And things understand you don't miss a flashing light to
the Clarence. Thank you. For more from Marcus Slash Knights.
