Speaker 1 (00:07):
You're listening to the Marcus Lush Nights podcast from News Talks.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
A'd be.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Greetings, could even welcome to Monday Moname is Marcus hitt All?
Well edel midnight tonight? Yeah, short week, good week, that's fine,
that's good. G I'll tell you what. I'm not sure
what's happening with the weather, but I want to keep
a brief on that tonight. That's kind of probably one
of my number one priorities, so that's important. If you've
got weather updates, it's now Canterby that's got the red
(00:33):
weather warning. There is a state of emagency in White
Tucky and Danida and Uamadu have had it big. This
is an ongoing situation. So also to this power out
because of snow. This is money in Otager, Clark's Junction,
Hinden Ranfrelly, Wipey out of Kaiburn, little march Board Hill.
You've done the rail trade, you know some of those spots.
(00:55):
I don't know what's going to happen tonight. State HIII
WAN north of Wamada is the only state highway that
remains closed due to flooding. So if you are drivers
travelers out and about there know what's going on. There
might be more road closes. I don't really know whether
the rain is abating, if that's the right word. So
it might rely on each other to keep keep in
(01:16):
touch with that, let's know what's going on. So yeah,
I'll do be live, be doing live coverage that throughout.
So there seems to be snow and this seems to
be rain. It's kai colder now that's rating waiting for
the heavy weather warning. It says they haven't needed to
activate emergency seeds or to clear instead of emergency, but
we'll take these actions of strictly necessary. So yeah, it's
(01:37):
come up. I think christ Juts has been bypassed. That's
kind of my quick understanding. If I'm wrong about that,
I apologize. How six of the West Coast closed because
of winds hoey honey between there and there are roads
closed in Tasmen because of falling trees. So yeah, they've
(01:57):
copped the South Island's copped it, and snow has brought
down power lines. So there's more so and it's hard
to know where the media being so focused in the
north of the North Island, where actually what's going on.
I did drive up to Dunedin and Beck over the
week or beg yesterday actually and fair Cop. I knew
that there were warnings telling people not to drive. We
drove over in the morning, drove back after a flight,
(02:18):
tack off after dark and coming south from Momona through
whay Hole through Milton. I thought that, and I'm not
quite sure how busy the emergency services were, but roads
were flooding and I didn't think there was much warning. Yeah,
I thought that it was lucky it hadn't got worse
because there was no signs up. There was a couple
(02:40):
of flashing lights, but they hadn't closed roads. I wasn't
quite sure what was going on. It didn't fill me
with confidence, but yeah, just thinking about that. Normally drive
it there in the day there's cops everywhere fleecing the speed,
but when the roads halfway flooded, there was pretty much
no one there. You might want to comment on that,
but we've got weather updates for us. Let us know
what those are. That's kind of what we're about tonight
to begin with. But of a quick round Robins, let
(03:01):
us know what's happening on the weather front right around
the country. So if you have got some updates for us,
get in touch. Be nice to hear from you. So yes,
by the way, too, I watched the rugby. There was
a sensational match. I loved that. Thought that was exciting
to the end. I didn't really see the anthems, didn't
see the halftime enter table, but what happened on the
pitch for those eighty minutes no streakers to my knowlogy
(03:22):
that which was good. I thought it was sensational, so
well done. We've been involved with that. And I went
on and watched. I watched Ireland play Australia afterwards, and
I'm not fully sure how the competition works, but I'm
more I think it's fantastic. It feels like you're about
ten hours of rugby in a row every so often.
I thought it was great. I don't know what it's called.
I don't know how often it happens, but yeah, I
(03:45):
thought it was neat. So yeah, I don't know if
it's every two years or every four years or every year.
I'll do some research about that, but yeah, I thought
that was good. So that's happening also too, the nation's championship.
It's called yeh, Nigel Marcus welcome.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah, can hit me.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
I'm just stare up if I'll give me one pick
and the tugs had to be used to push the
fairies in the scarps, winds and picked, and I ran
into the heavy rain about sedding sending the wood. It's
blind a gale rain. We're just a council put a
(04:21):
message out telling people if they don't have to travel
stale State Highway One between lend them and car Coura
tonight right through the Wednesday morning. But yeah, I'm on
fighting the trucks, sees fighting mat and the rain and
the wind, the wind till going sideways, and they give
you another update when I get through the Corra.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
You're hitting south, correct, Yeah, Roggie, the pymous South.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
I go to heavyer the rain and the windows and.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Then and despite the two tugs, they haven't had to
cancel ferries.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
No, no, no, no. Theories are still running at this stage.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
So yeah, it'll just keep you a fingers crossed. And
see how we go. I wanted to get down onto
the cold coming in and on the roadway and I
just see how much rocks are really washed up on
the road.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Do you think the problems for rain or the wind
or the sea.
Speaker 7 (05:15):
Well, it's both.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
The winds are as you said earlier from Karterry Junson,
the inlane rode through the blame them through the all
it's whole. Caesar sat there because the trees have come
down and yeah so but it's the biggest prom Drea at.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
The moment of the reception, biggers reception, I think that
what he was going to say, what's this hall? It's
holly talked about. It wasn't familiar with that. By the way,
this Rugby Championship, it's got six teams for the Northern
hemer who's sixth of the southern Hemisphere. It happens every
two years. Loving it. It's a bit jinky with the
way they play each other. But who he is England,
Francis and Italy, Scotland, Wales, Argentina, Australia, Fiji, Japan, Museum,
(05:54):
South Africa. That's the one. That's what's happening. So every
two years, this is great. I'm all in on this
fourteen pass date. Get in touch if you want to talk,
but let's be hearing from you people. If you want
to talk about this, you got the updates for you.
So it seems as though Christ it's bypart. I don't
know how it bypassed christ Juge, maybe in the Lee
of the Hill or something like that. But you get
in touch. If you want to talk, you got to
(06:14):
And I didn't notice. I didn't even watch the national
anthems for the rugby, so I went sure if they
were good or not. I meant to, but you know
what's happened. You're busy, and then by the time you
found the remote, it was all over. By the time
I've found the remote, they're getting away for the hucker
with the arrowhead. I think they do these days, get
in touch, updates for the weather eight hundred and eight
and known to known to detext I'll keep my bed
(06:35):
through news throughout the next four hours. By the way, too,
I can tell you it's heating up in the four
square or the soupermarkets. At New World you've got the
Smeig Knives. They're about to launch next week and then
countdown who always comes later on with junk. They've got
collectible ushies. I don't know what they are, but I
don't reckon they're any good. At Disney Ushy that sounds
(06:56):
to be like an exercise and brand brand extension. And marketing.
So if you want to Disney audio, that's the place
to go. Get your mates to show up at countdown.
If you want the knives, go to New World. If
you want knives and a Noddy, well you be worried
about that. Be in touch if you want to talk.
Here'll twelve. Name is Marcus, Good evening. Are they called
(07:17):
udies or the ddles? Something? Ushies? So it's an ushery.
I thought it was something you wear. It's an ushy.
Sounds like landfill, potential landfill to me without much in
between time, forty Disney ushies, got no idea what they are.
Probably in my wheelhouse. Actually, Craig gets Marcus good evening
and welcome.
Speaker 8 (07:36):
It's keeping here's the game.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Good, Thank you, Craig.
Speaker 9 (07:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (07:39):
I think a lot of the stuff they bring out,
like toys or whatever, it just seems to have been landfill.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah yeah, well they don't know on this is rubbish.
Speaker 8 (07:46):
Yeah yeah, I was just screening up saying that I
really enjoyed the rugby game is quite good. The anthems
are actually quite good. Actually enjoyed those as well. Who
sung the anything? Sorry I'm not too certain who's sung? Sorry?
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Okay, Well, okay, but yeah, the.
Speaker 8 (07:59):
Only thing I found let down by was effected when
they did the Hacker. They ran this fing across the
throat at the end of it, and I found a
shame to be in New Zealand and stage.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
It's got a shame.
Speaker 8 (08:08):
There's no need for that stuff. I mean, it's threatening
sort of.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I think that ship sailed, but I think the outrage
from that kind of have you been outraged before?
Speaker 8 (08:18):
Yeah, well, there's no need for that. I mean, I mean.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
When you say shamed to be in New Zealand, is
it are you pecking your bags ashamed or just no?
Speaker 8 (08:26):
I'm just ashamed that that's that's all around the world
and we don't need that sort of crept And I
don't mind the hacker. Hacker's cool, but that sort of stuff.
I think it's going one but too far. I mean,
that's Creg, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I mean, is it that part of the hacker?
Speaker 8 (08:38):
Well, I don't know. If you go far enough, are
they're going to eat the team as well?
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Craig. What I'm saying is it you say you didn't
mind the Hucker, but I thought that was part of
the hacker.
Speaker 8 (08:47):
Well, I'm not just certain they never used to do it.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
I think they've got two hackers and one's got that.
Have you well, a Craig, Have you heard anyone else
mention this on talkback in the last twenty four hours?
Speaker 8 (09:00):
Two people on Mikey's show on over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, I think yeah, I think it's
it was it was aware of years ago. But I
think yeah. I think I suspect people just look if
for something to get outraged about, get outraged. But that
would be my take on that one. That's one that
reads its head from time to time. But yeah, I mean, look,
(09:24):
next time, Craig, just tune in, Just tune in when
the game starts, and then you won't get upset. There'd
be my take for you. But don't get secondhand outrage.
There'd be my advice. Oh eight hundred eighty ten eighty
and nine to nine, tic do you want to come through?
Speaker 10 (09:38):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Someone says, what's the bit? This is a pucky ha.
I would have mentioned, So christ just drizzle all day
no one? Oh wait, one hundred and Eightyes, had an
email if you can text. Also, there's other stuff to
talk about tonight that we shall eighteen past eight as
I say, oh, eight hundred eighty to ten eighty and
(09:59):
nine to nine two to text, so much to talk about,
but nope, I'll go with that. Should have mentioned anthems. Anyway,
we live and we learn and we move on. Now
no one's texted through what or she is or she
but let's go A few people in christ Church are
(10:21):
denying the weather. But yeah, we didn't updates for you.
If you've got updates from the weather, that's happening. A
lot to download there for what Nigel said, But it
seems as though south of CA coulda there'd be stuff
across the road in all sorts of mayhem. So yeah,
if you've got updates for us about the weather, let
us know, oh eight hundred and eighty ten eighty. But
CA Culder have said they are ready for whatever happens.
(10:42):
It's a red warning expeak to last thirty six to
forty eight hours, says heavy rain may cause rivers and
streams to rise rapidly minly can see with the weekend
was how they actually mark that there is water across
the world. I mean, I know it's dynamic and fast moving,
but yeah, I just thought, yeah, they could have done
a bit more yesterday, so rain, eyes, snow, winds and
(11:05):
rock seems to be the full cast and a lot
of power is out. Also, by the way, in the
North Island Funga matar houses suffered considerable damage after being
struck by lightning. Cheap is twenty past eight extra. Listen
to a feverite Jason Pine driving and talking about the rugby.
I just wanted to if anyone needs to let some
(11:26):
steam off as far as the football goes, because I
didn't see it. I kind of thought TVNS would put
it free to wear because of the interest, because I
see that they'd put one of the games over the
weekend free to wear. Don't have the package, the forty
nine dollars package of the football, but they just game
looked amazing and they are calling it England's greatest match
since they won the Football World Cup in sixty six.
(11:50):
I think it was so if you are a English
you want to talk about that is at the time,
I don't know what the I mean. I know in
England that no one's gone to work, they're all advised
to have another shot and stay at the pub. But
if you're an English supporter, I mean, it just seemed
to be seem to be the match that had absolutely everything.
That's what all the commentators have said, the stop for thunder,
(12:12):
the amazing stadium a stadium. I think the Mexico has
only been beaten twice at ninety six games or something
like that. By the way, the last game that England
said was as good as this, they bet when they
won the World Cup. That was in nineteen sixty six.
They beat Germany for to two. But you're down to
it was the match it seemed to absolutely anything. If
you are English you want to comment on that would
be good to hear from you about that. As I
(12:34):
say eight hundred and eighty ten eighty and nine two
nine to the text. You want to be a part
of it, Welcome here till twelve o'clock tonight, looking forward
to what you've got to say. And also too, we're
looking for any updates of the weather if you are
driving through central Otago, through Tasman, through north of well
South and north of Calkulda. If you've got any updates,
(12:54):
thet Us know what they are, because I'm all about
that tonight. And if you know what an oodle is,
if I've got that right, not an oodle and ushi
I've got an Ushi's and well I've got some man.
The things that begin with oh, us she's and Uddi's
confused usches will be available with one collectible. For every
thirty bucks spent, there's forty. I don't know why we're
(13:15):
so obsessed with these things. I guess I'm kind of
feeding it a bit. I think we never really recovered
from we had those little shop things. When you go
the little shops, you never get anymore. And of course
the Smeke stuff and the knives were through. There were
twenty six past Dave, you've got to be a part
of an eight hundred and eighty ten eighty. By the way,
school holiday is also two, so I don't know what
you've I don't know what the great compelling school holiday
(13:37):
discussion point is actually, because of course the winter one
is the dud one because the weather's no good, perfectly
explained by what we've seen in the last forty eight hours.
But that seems to work. And when everyone seems to
be happy with the four term year, no one's talk
about going back to three, are they. I think, if anything,
will be going to for five term year next because
you people are saying the terms are still too long,
(13:59):
or she's someone said us, She's are a stupid little
toy collection. I guess what drives those is children pestering
their parents to go to that supermarket. Because no kid's
going to test to their parents to go to get
the knives. I think it's embarrassing how bad countdowns collectibles are.
These things. I don't know what they are, and before
it was like a lame sticker book, not very exciting
(14:19):
at all. It's just me though I'm not in the market.
Actually even the kids are in the market. Oh by
the way, as far as football goes, Oh, by the way,
the Woolworths, I call them countdown they' Wolwors. That collection started.
That collecting thing has started today with the ushis the
anthem at the rugby was performed by Utatahi Voices. And
(14:44):
I can tell you as far as free sport goes.
Tomorrow USA versus Belgium will be on TV one, but
the Portugal Spain match is only for paid TV DID
plus subscribers. So and by the way, Trump has made
the phone calls to get the player band overturned, which
is terrible but effective. No shame. So USA and Belgium
(15:09):
and of course that's the last hope because there's three
countries hosting the tournament, Canada, USA and Mexico. I think
Canada was out yesterday Saturday, in Mexico was out today.
So the USA are the great the only hope left, Marcus.
The only good colickable from countdown was the garden seating
exactly that little kind of coin of dirt you'd wit
(15:30):
and it would actually expand that was phenomenal. Oh, it
was a great thing. And while they haven't gone back
to that, it was brilliant. It was inspirational that in
the knives would be my two favorite, and not even
in that wheelhouse. You know, I get in touch if
you want to talk. One of the lines are free,
Oh eight hundred and eighty ten eighty nine to nine
to tixt looking for any weather updates that you've got
as that weather system slowly moves north, having bypassed christ
(15:55):
Church largely. Don't know if it went out and about
and around, but it's on its way and Calcutta and
Nelson those sorts of places too, So get in touch
you on a talk. Someone says why and Judith and
Winster not raising the alarm on the China situation. I
think Winston's on the front page of the Herald saying
he is quite alarmed by what's gone on. This is
(16:16):
the testing in the Pacific and the South Pacific. It's
kind of like, yeah, deeply concerned, was what Winston says,
which is probably what he should say. So that has happened,
and that's the comments are just coming through now. But yeah,
be in touch if you're on Talk on air. Anything
I want to mention, feel free. It's the Monday Free
for All. The number is eight hundred and eighty ten eighty.
(16:36):
If you are text, it's nine to nine to email
Marcus at you Talk, said b dot Co. Dot In said,
that's what we've got. How could Mitchelin not give any
stars to pie you come to, you said, there'll be
your first bit. Wouldn't it just to get old with
the locals. Give them a pie, you'd be good to go.
Certainly they should have done that. There'd be my take.
Speaker 11 (16:59):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Someone says ushies were collectible about twenty years ago from
the toy shops, So it was mister will be nostalgic
for what some parents trump meddling and the football's appalling,
but them giving it term is even worse Morocco to
win the World Cup. Woolies had the Jamie Oliver plates
been rubbish ever since? Does anyone remember when they used
(17:22):
to have bowls and plates or cups that used to
come with the cereal at New World like with Kellogg's items,
those were the days. Got no recall of that, Marcus.
Did you know that mercury is in retrograde? That could
be the cause of why some good teams in the
football aren't playing that well. I just think it's one
of those games that it's all about luck. Sometimes someone
(17:42):
wants to know what happened to the free gifts in Cereal.
That's a good question. I don't know why they stopped
giving those out. Got no idea what's gone on there anyway.
Hittell twelve twenty had away from nine oh eight hundred
and eighty ten eighty nine nine text Ooh England ay
all the way to win the World Cup, Marcus, England
(18:03):
today were phenomenal. Jude Bellingham was fantastic. He played out
of his skin, best performance I've ever seen, so exciting.
But the last added eleven minutes added years to a
last few minits from England Marcus. After eight years of
drinking beer, I'm doing dry July. The first few days
were a bit tricky finding different things to be getting better.
(18:25):
So now instead of playing music listening to the harmonic,
I'm listening to you. Wow, goodness, Marcus. China's notified all
about her imminent missile launch. No sweat. We knew of
their subs and ships before that. The texture system's work
standard booster with blank head to let all know they
will retake Taiwan at their leisure soon. Michael Pierce Trump
(18:45):
had it put off for one year. That all that's about.
But get in touch if you want to talk. Kettle
twelve oh, eight hundred and eighty today twenty seven to nine.
Some comments about toys in Cereal and why they got
rid of them because they are choking hazard. But then
why did they get rid of all those collecting cards,
because it was quite a big thing there to win
(19:05):
was always get kind of a catalog in cards and weetbooks.
There was lighthouses and all sorts of stuff, trains, all
sorts of stuff. I mean, they wouldn't be a choking hazard,
but then just disappeared. Hey, the other thing too, I
haven't mentioned that before. I've sort of got myself slightly
in a situation with cleaning an oven, which I don't
want to do. And what I do it like about an
(19:27):
oven is could you tell us the dolphin Newcastle Night's result?
Are dolphins lost by a point? The situation with oven
cleaning I don't want to do. I don't want to
do that stuff that stinks like sleep easy off or
something like that. And I tried it with baking soda
when you make a pace, But is there an easy
(19:50):
quick way that doesn't that your house isn't full of fumes?
I mean the other thing is because you've got to
kind of put a how do you not defumigate yourself
like you've gotta put a scarf around your head or something?
Is you know the great tactic for that? It's something
I've never discussed on this show. I've never had the
courage to put that as a topic. But since it's
a school holiday Monday, and I'm looking for something to
(20:10):
keep us going about, Yeah, oven cleaning, like easy ways
or ways you don't feel that you're poisoning yourself. I mean,
I'm not overly cautious about but they're not good fumes.
And I'm slightly. Yeah, I guess it's something I haven't
really done that often. I'm not saying that looking for pity.
Did sound about that I was looking for pity, didn't it? Anyway?
Get in touched Marcus till twelve oh eight hundred eighty
(20:31):
ten eighty anything else you want to talk about? Two
we've got weather up has let us No. Eight hundred
eighty ten eighty nine two nine two text Marcus, those
little plastic tours ending up on the ocean, choking the whales.
I wonder if people realize that the four millimeters of
rain that could fall on the Caucaulders translates typically to
ten times that and snow at a high altitude that
(20:53):
is four meters and potentially even deeper wind drifts. So
what they're saying is that snow is ten times the
same amount of rainfall as snow would be ten times deeper.
It's interesting and thought of that ovens, ovens, ovens, ovens
like really good stuff on ovens, like a way to
clean ovens, that you want to do it every month
(21:14):
and you look forward to it rather than just the
oven of regret. I guess it's secret is not to
use your having and get it dirty in the beginning.
Oh yeah, it's Marcus. Welcome in, good evening.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Good evening, Marcus. I was thinking, you want to clean
your oven? Is that correct?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
I want a way that you can just do it.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
Yeah, because I make my homemade sugar soap, and that's
that's really good on ovens and like that and everything.
Oh okay, that's that's a secret formula. But I can
send you some if you want.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
What is sugar soap?
Speaker 4 (21:45):
It's alkaline suffactant. Yeah, so you good. You could You
could use Sally's sugar soap, but my sugar soap is
even better.
Speaker 7 (21:53):
But you good.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Use Sally's sugar soap.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
But sugar soap is just made from sugar.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
No, it's not got no sugar and it just looks
like sugar when they make it.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Yes, that's good. Okay, So what is it made from?
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Well, it's a secret formula I'm not supposed to tell.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
But not your but you're not your stuff to buy stuff.
You buy it at the shop.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Yeah, it's alkaline and suffectant.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Yeah, is a byproduct from something?
Speaker 4 (22:22):
No, it's alkaline and it's affectant.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Give this stuff.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
But what's that second words affactant.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
So, yeah, what gives it its abrasive technology qualities?
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Sally's stuff has a braceive and our mind doesn't have
a brace of But then you can use it on
food products, food like kitchen equipment. I use it for
burnt on pops and everything.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yeah, I kind of thought. I have a quite a
Straightford discussion with you about I haven't cleaning. But it's
become it's become a bit tricky to get.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Okay, you like to send you no.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
So, so in order to start making your sugar soap,
which is not containing sugar, where would you get your
ingredients from.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
The super marker?
Speaker 3 (23:12):
How many ingredients would you get?
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Two ingredients?
Speaker 3 (23:15):
And they're commonly available. Yeah, and you put it into cakes?
Speaker 4 (23:21):
No, it's a liquid liquid.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
No, it's in a bottle.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
Yeah yeah, I put it in a spray bottle. But
you can you can also use it in a bottle
of hot water.
Speaker 9 (23:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
And does the baking soda or vinegar?
Speaker 4 (23:33):
No, no, no baking soda or vinegar.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Did you invent did you invent your recipe?
Speaker 7 (23:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Yeah, I'll send you some. I send it to the
to the black box.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, forty three, Thank you, Chan Marcus good evening.
Speaker 9 (23:53):
Hello, Jen, didn't hear my name?
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Got to listen out for your name, Jan.
Speaker 12 (24:00):
Yeah, I didn't hear it.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Would you ask clean your oven?
Speaker 13 (24:06):
Jen?
Speaker 12 (24:07):
Quite regially?
Speaker 3 (24:09):
With what what's it called? Do you not if in
the oven's hot off?
Speaker 12 (24:17):
You use easy off, no jiff Jeff and dishwashing liquid
like Jeff.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
That's not not special oven.
Speaker 12 (24:25):
Jeff, No, just ordinary jiff and put a bit on
a damned cloth dish cloth? And why I put round
while that you haven't still hot?
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Do you worry that's going to start taking your food off?
Or you managed to get it all out afterwards?
Speaker 12 (24:40):
Sorry? What was it?
Speaker 11 (24:41):
Do you not?
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Do you not worry that it's going to taint that
this that this lingering smell of Jeff's going to be
in your hot oven?
Speaker 12 (24:48):
I don't find it's any smell.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
And I quite like I quite like Jeff. Out of
all the things I use, I think Jeff would be
my favorite. I like the texture, like the smell.
Speaker 12 (24:59):
It cuts through all the grief that's.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Grease and grimes always. So he's had good advertisements.
Speaker 12 (25:05):
Yeah, those little toys that you get from ZiT Countdown.
I think I've seen them on Telly in the advert
And I've always been worried that if the little children,
you know how they like putting things.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
In them mouths, those terrible tiny batteries.
Speaker 12 (25:24):
Yeah, but there's a danger of them swallowing them and choking.
And I think they're a very bad idea. Parents should
try and not get them. And about that new Clear
testing by China, it's just so bad and all those
fish are going to be mute and damaging the sea.
(25:46):
It's just shocking countries testing in our waters, our oceans,
our planet. They should be.
Speaker 14 (25:56):
Drawn and quarters.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Jan this is this is just a this is just
a breaking not a breaking story. But the details haven't
been all clear. But I think with the new Clear missile,
the warhead is a dummy warhead, so it's not radiating
our oceans. It's just a practice one for in case
they did want to send a nuclear warhead. So it's
(26:18):
just a it's a dummy run.
Speaker 12 (26:20):
Oh yeah, it's not so bad.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
You have you got the storm where you are, Jen.
Speaker 12 (26:26):
No, it's peaceful and quiet. No, no, when it wasn't
a bit of wind earlier. No, it's just lovely, perfect,
good sleeping weather.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Any predictions, any predictions to who's going to win the
World Cup.
Speaker 12 (26:39):
I'm not even a tiny bit interest.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
No, but you've got but you've got special powers for prediction.
There we go. There's a bit of a laugh from you.
Speaker 15 (26:49):
Gen.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Always good to hear that.
Speaker 12 (26:51):
Well. I was going to say about the storm. Probably
it must christ Church because people were praying there.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Brilliant in the Hacker. Thank you fifteen to nine, eight
and eighty ten. Everyone's Everyone's free. Big thumbs down for Jeff,
in which I thought I thought Jeff would Jeff would
be bad. Jeff, Jeff get in touch. Eight hundred and
eighty ten eighty. Thank you Donald Fameru for your text. Gloria,
(27:21):
it's Marcus.
Speaker 16 (27:22):
Welcome, Yes, evening, Marcus. Easy way cleaning your oven is
with lemon water and baking soda is put some water
in a baking dish, sprinkle some baking soda doesn't matter
how much, whatever you feel like, and squeeze some lemon
(27:43):
juice into it, and then put the lemons in the
water as well. Turn your oven on to about two hundred,
leave it for h half an hour because of an hour.
Turn the oven off, leave it, let it cool down
and just wipes out beautifully.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
So all the stuff is in your tray. Yeah, water,
lemon juice, baking powder, baking soda, and it gets heated
and activated by the oven. And does it just kind
of move around onto the surfaces. It evaporates onto the surfaces.
Speaker 16 (28:16):
It's got all the different acids and things in the water.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
You see. Sometimes people say that and I can't imagine
it working.
Speaker 16 (28:23):
It does work. Yeah, my neighbor told me about it,
and I didn't believe her anywhere. I tried it and
it was I couldn't believe it. Baked on stuff just
wiped off.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
So how deep you're baking? Is it like you're putting
a cake tin or anything? Could you?
Speaker 16 (28:38):
You could do? But the big is it white?
Speaker 12 (28:40):
Is a surf?
Speaker 16 (28:41):
I did it in a roasting dish. So yeah, three
four lemons, cut them up, squeeze the juice into the water,
Drink all baking soda over it, and tune oving on,
turned off when you feel like it.
Speaker 12 (28:59):
There was something else soiling?
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Did you say something else as well as lemons and
baking soda?
Speaker 16 (29:05):
Water you put watering your tray as well, so that
the moisture to take all the acids and that into
the around your oven.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
It really works.
Speaker 16 (29:16):
It really works. I couldn't believe it. I had baked
on stuff in the foot of my oven and it
come off.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Because sometimes I think a lot of these things, these
home reybodies had just done to frustrate you, and you
said do it, You said to do it once.
Speaker 9 (29:31):
Yeah, yeah, brilliant.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Okay, so I need to know my life's complete. Ten
to nine Kebn and Marcus.
Speaker 8 (29:37):
Good evening, Yeah, good evening.
Speaker 9 (29:40):
Markers.
Speaker 17 (29:41):
Well, I just turned into you a little while ago
while I'm driving home and the comments on cleaning. I
had an experience where I had a apartment block and
there was a fire in one of the apartment blocks
and the the black stain of the smoke went down
the hallway, and a friend of mine advised me, He said,
(30:05):
what are you trying to clean with lux liquid and
that stuff? For Get into lemon juice. So I went
home and I squeezed half a liter of lemon juice.
I got a two inch paintbrush and I painted it
on on the doors and the door handles, and the
lemon juice just made the black stain totally fall off.
It just absolutely wash it clean. So you know, the
(30:28):
lemon juice, she's pretty powerful stuff.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
I noticed some of those. Sometimes. I've bought that orange
skin juice cleaning stuff, which is pretty powerful too, works
on stains. I just don't know it would work with
an oven, but I guess that's some I guess she
did lemon and baking soda a yeah.
Speaker 17 (30:45):
And the other thing the guy told me was when
he's had a barbecue, he cuts a lemon in half
and just rubs it over the barbecue and cleans it
all off, cleans all the back off here, like.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Got that to go on the oven. Kevin, thanks for that. Roberts,
Marcus welcome, Hey go Marcus, she will good. Rob for good.
Thank you.
Speaker 18 (31:04):
The weather hasn't made it here to Army yet. It's
it's really warm for this time of the year.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
I think the whole year has been warm.
Speaker 18 (31:13):
Yeah, it's unusually warm here. I've got seven days work
this week at the for the man or two hockey.
There's a national under eighteen tournament here and year. The
Southland girls played well today.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Oh god, they'll be pleased about that. Did they come
away with the victory.
Speaker 18 (31:30):
No they didn't, but they came came back from three
kneel down to go down three to two to Bay
a plenty and they've done really well. I congratulated them
on a great game.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Oh that's the spirit is under eighteen is it? Is
it secondary school?
Speaker 18 (31:46):
Well yeah, well I think at secondary schools, but yeah,
it could be under eighteen's. But yeah, the teams from
all over New Zealand, Okay, Canby and Auckland. You know,
they they seem quite a bit more sort of professional
than the others. North Harbor and I guess it's coming
from big cities. You can you can just you can
see them, you know, they just yeah, they look really good,
(32:10):
those teams. But you know they're all in with a
chance cleaning cleaning ovens. I've got the old food trailer
and I use them as the muscle. But yeah, it
does put off a bit of a fume, you know,
when you spray it on. It's it's that.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Yeah, it just seems not God, it just seems not
to be missed with. When they're talking about gloves and stuff,
I think I hate yeah, you know, it just doesn't
seem to be like a f You're trying not to
breathe and you got your head in the oven. It's
not good.
Speaker 18 (32:41):
Yeah, you've got to be well, you've got to clean
you out. Look, I just used water, hot water most
of the time, and soap SuDS while it's warm. But
but with with the with those oven cleaners, and especially
when you when you're you're cleaning the food trailer down,
it leaves for a couple of days that might leave
us sort of a white sort of film a street.
(33:03):
And then once you're using your deep fries in your
hot play, it burns it off over time.
Speaker 7 (33:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 18 (33:10):
But yeah, because I'm constantly wiping it down because you
want what you don't want that your customers seeing it,
you know. Yeah, yeah, so I'm constantly cleaning you to
keep it tidy. But the last time I spoke to you, Marcus,
I was heading off overseas. I went over over Ozzie
for a couple of weeks just to a food expo
(33:32):
in Sydney.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
How was it?
Speaker 18 (33:34):
That was great? With three hundred exhibitors. It was celebrity
chefs there. Yeah, yeah, it was great, just just to
see what's what's happening in the food world.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
What is happening?
Speaker 18 (33:44):
Ah ah, you put me on the spots for your back.
Probably not a lot or not not things that I
already knew.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
What are the hockey. What are the hockey players like
to eat?
Speaker 18 (34:00):
Ah?
Speaker 7 (34:00):
They like?
Speaker 18 (34:01):
Oh well, look I had a great sale today. I
sold my teen dollars a square to fries. So that's
fifteen fifteen lots of fries to a team. Yeah, they
were they were great. And did you know those fries
cost me nine dollars thirty and I got back ninety.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Brilliant at night. Oh eight, good evening. People, welcome Marcus
Hezzel twelve romans at midnight tonight. I shall be here
till then. So if you want to partake, let's here
from your eight hundred and eighty ten eighty if you
are a text to nineteen nine two is the text
number we're tooking amongst it. I just don't know if
those are think those oven cleaning heck's work. It's very
well to say baking set eleven. I just wonder if
(34:44):
it's gonna have enough omph, because you're comparing that to
something that seems highly toxic. In a candy, you need
gloves and a mask. I just don't know. So we're
talking oven cleaning. A few of the Bragg guards are
coming through and saying that oven cleans themselves, which is great,
but we don't all have those. Why not? I guess
don't even think it was a priority. M extremes of temperature. Currently,
(35:08):
Franz Joseph is the hottest fifteen point five, Tiana the lowest,
minus one windiest, Milford Sound forty one. K's wettest Dartfield
Darfield four point six millimeters. Thanks for that. That's someone
sex toy weather information. There might be someone that's bragging
that the warmest place is Franz Joseph Glacier if that's
where it is, so oven cleaning is the major topic. Also,
(35:30):
we are talking about English football. I wonder when, in
fact the galihers will turn up to watch one of
the matches with everyone singing. Wonderwall seems to have become
their song. Thank goodness they've got rid of Sweet Carolina,
Sweet Caroline. I think that was the English shockers standard
for a while. But I think wonderful Wonderwall is sort
(35:50):
of Wonderwall is sort of ambiguous enough to sort of
make sense. I think that's the one they're all singing.
The players were singing, everyone was singing it. But there's
gonna be a match on tomorrow tomorrow Live Portugal for
Spain's not on, but USA Belgium and if the States out,
that's the three host teams gone, and Trump intervened to
(36:13):
get the red carded player back on. How do you
feel about that? So a lot happening in the world,
little world of ours, A lot of weather coming down
the country too, or coming up the country. But man,
oh man, it was wet coming south from len last night.
I just don't know why. I just don't know why.
There's not better signaling for cars, like flooding ahead would
be useful, wouldn't it. But maybe it's happening so quickly
(36:35):
now there's so many roads flooding then we just got
the manpower to do that. I don't know what you
think about that, but it's all sort of cars kind
of and ditches on the sides of road that obviously
had hit the water at speed. I don't know what
you want to say about that. But getting touch markets
till twelve anything goes or she's at Willworths there the
(36:57):
new things to be collecting. I don't think there's going
to be a stampede for those because they look incredibly average.
I can't work out why Walworth don't pick up their
competitive game New World's Got Knives. Walworths has got plastic
things you put on the end of the pencil that
literally looked the look would look that. They would cost
(37:17):
a few cents to make and probably fifty cents for
marketing to Disney for permission. So there we go. Anything
else you want to talk, well that's the plan. Stand
get in touch. Someone's upset that we are now calling
chips fries. I don't have a problem. I guess the
word chip means chip you chip off the old block,
(37:38):
and fry means what you cook it in chips fries frips.
I don't know, Marcus. Those oven cleaning hacks like lemon
juice baking so do white vinegar have never worked for me.
I go for the cleaner. There's a bag you put
off your oven racks and pour the liquid and let
them stew. Well, wouldn't clean the rest of the oven, though,
would it. The cheapest way is to do it yourself.
(37:59):
The easier way is to get someone else to do it.
How much baking? So did you squeeze the lemons? Did
you hear, Dannis? She squeeze the lemons, and she squeeze
the lemons. Maybe you're going to be the one that
saves me. What are the French called French fries. That's
a good question. They called them palm dea fritz or something.
(38:21):
I'm not going to get upset about what people call things.
Peter at the Market's welcome and good.
Speaker 19 (38:26):
Evening, Good evening. Well have you been.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Listening to the show?
Speaker 20 (38:33):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (38:34):
Are you going to go to a rent about China?
Speaker 19 (38:36):
Well, they have a marine, Peter, was this expected?
Speaker 21 (38:41):
Well?
Speaker 19 (38:43):
I guess it is because China warn New Zealand about
the sidon aircraft getting into their airspace, because theseidons don't
know how many are patrolling North Korea, and China said
that you're getting close to our airspace. So that and
then of course ships go through sort of territory as
(39:06):
well up there. And then New Zealander's training troops Russia
in Ukraine for Ukraine to fight Russia and sending money
to the British to buy weapons to fight Russia. And
then we didn't go to the funeral in Iran because
the US put lots of pressure on countries not to attend.
(39:27):
I think over sixty countries attended Iran. And then you
see the current National Party policy not wanting to have
deals with Russia or Iran. And then you have Winston's
on first talking about their immigration, well residents not being
able to vote as a post of citizens. But then
(39:50):
I didn't see on the news the money gain to
mining on the West Coast as I understand.
Speaker 13 (39:56):
Sorry, I just.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Asked you if we're expecting this from China. It's a
pretty long answer.
Speaker 9 (40:01):
Well, I.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
Just talk about the West Coast.
Speaker 19 (40:05):
I guess China is sort of really the country that
people can't do without because of supply chains, and you know,
it's an important trading partner for New Zealand. And you
know the US has put sanctions and China stopped rareers
(40:26):
to go into America in some way. So China is
pretty important to us. And I guess it's the change
of the guard. You know, we had the British Empire,
and we had the American Empire. Now we're having the
Chinese Empire.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
So what's the reaction. New Zealand just makes strong statements
like saying we are deeply consumed. Is that the answer?
Speaker 19 (40:45):
Well, on New Zealand just as a puppet in my
view of whatever the US and Australia say, And we
just read what they have to say, basically, and we're
spending what twelve billion extra on defense? What good is
that going to do? For missile comes from a Chinese
submarine and goes anywhere, or even if all their tourists
suddenly arrived in New Zealand and decided to hold up whatever,
(41:09):
you know where.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
We know we really know where the missile landed.
Speaker 19 (41:13):
I don't know. I don't know where it landed.
Speaker 20 (41:15):
No oure.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
I thought there'd be a map. I thought there'd be
a map an image on one of the articles.
Speaker 19 (41:20):
Yeah, but we know that North Korea sometimes sends missiles
as well. And America wants to do nuclear weapons testing again,
and apparently when the French, I haven't heard.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
The Americans wanted the nuclear we've been testing again. Where'd
you hear.
Speaker 19 (41:38):
That that that's some years ago, that that's what they wanted.
It was going to take some years before they could
do it again.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
Okay, olive the pittip, but thanks so much that fifteen
past nine getting touched your do want to talk on
here by the way too. I can tell you that
I don't know if this is weather related, but I
can tell you what what this is. A purs has
died after the vehicles crashed into a river. This I
know this probably might be before the flood system. A
(42:05):
single vehicle crash fern Town Bridge on the Collingwood Poopong
and Main Road about four pm. Police said a vehicle
gone into the Iriedi River. Purse was found in a
serious because you've died at the scene despite the best efforts,
so there are delays there. Looking from Google Maps, that
looks like a small single one way bridge. No word
(42:26):
on the course with that also text if you want
to on nine two nine two. Marcus's football World Cup
has been so good. Both games today amazing. You just
don't know who's going to win. There will be some
twists yet, no doubt. I hope England haven't played the file.
I'm always got a soft spot for England. But you wonder,
Oh by fries he mean chips. I suppose petrel has gas.
(42:49):
The football is a sidewalk. There must be other americanisms.
Marcus Avid Recks. Put in your dishwasher. If you do
not have a dishwasher, soak and sync with hot soapy
water for a while. To clean oven. If it's just grease,
use hot soapy water and a Goldilocks. If you have
black burnt stuff on the sides and the floor are
paint scraper will get these off. Jiff works, but make
(43:10):
sure you clean it afterwards. When you notice when you
turn oven back on, you may notice some Jiff white
marks left. Turn off and wipe out again. All I
just think that way is good where they can just
shut the oven and all cleanse itself. Glorious is if
it doesn't work for that Texas because I didn't leave
it to get really hot for long enough. The longer
you leave the oven on the bed and don't open
(43:30):
the door after turning it off, I'll give that a
go and I'll google it more. Eighteen past nine and
welcome all the people listening on their transistors because the
powers off. It seems to be. There's a number of
houses that are without power mainly because of snow on
power lines. Thirty broken poles, twenty broken cross arms, Thretty
(43:51):
customers without power, Clark's Junction, hind and Red Bank, Randfrelly,
wipe out of Kaiburn, Middlemarch, bulld Hill So help us
on its way. Teams from Gore, Ranfurlly, Balcluther and Palmerston.
There's a generator on the rail on the way Clark's
Junction Hinden thirty three kill of out vaults. Can't guarantee
(44:11):
that power will be back on tonight if you've got
specific request, if you had text them so if you've
got charge on your phone or go to the current
charge your phone and texture and we'll get information to you.
As Zach has said, jet fuel has dropped by forty
six percent and six weeks yet in usin has not
dropped its air fares. They use gip fuel price and
excuse to raise price. It's now time they reversed this
(44:33):
increase or are they just scamming us? Zach PEPs the
latter when they see me having a tough time making
any money. There news end at the moment, and a
lot of lines don't make much, A lot of routes
don't make much money at all. Seem to lose a fortune.
So by the way, start of origin on Wednesday this
week also two lines they're free. You want to come through.
(44:54):
We're talking oven cleaning. But yeah, what about those those
ones you just buying a pack that you need the
gloves for. They seem pretty hard core, don't they. I've
always thought that in your house stinks anyway, they tat
me are talking about and the road conditions, the flood conditions.
You've got the updates on that that tappening right around
the country. So you do a breaking user if you've
been driven down the state Higway one or anything like that,
(45:17):
and you've got more information for us. I'm kind of
doing what I can to find updates for you. They're
saying now significant heavy rain, severe gales and snow is
on the way for parts of the South Island, with
heavy rain also possible for the wider Upper Strong cold
southeast flowers considered to lie with the South Island and
north Lower North Island. Heavy rain is expected around eastern
(45:40):
and northern areas of South Island and in the wider Rappa. However,
snow about the Mackenzie Country is study easing. Severe southeast
gales are also affecting the west of the South Island.
Heavy rain is expected to see significant parts of North
Canderbury and Marlborough and a red heavy rain warning is
in place. The following rotches remain in place. Heavy Rain
Watch Wider Upper including the Tartada Rangers. It's going to
(46:01):
go for forty two hours from six am Tomorrow morning
till twelve am Thursday. What day is twelve am Thursday?
That's Thursday, not Friday, isn't it? I should say midnight Wednesday,
Nelson's side of the Brian Bridge twenty eight hours from
eight pm tonight to twelve am Wednesday, periods of heavy
rain and mounts of way approach warning criteria. There's a
(46:23):
snow watch for South Canterbury south of the ring Attata
which goes for nine hours from eight pm tonight. And
strong wind watching Fiordland north of Doubtful Sound and west
of the main Devioce. We're seeing strong winds now, but
no one lives there and how much is affected. So
I'm okay about that. Twenty four past nine, Ridiant, get
(46:44):
in touchy on a talk. I'll wait one hundred and
eighty ten eighty and nine two nine to detext. I
don't know what to think about China. By the way,
you might have some comments about that. It's not what
I expected. Twenty five past nine of the other topic.
If you don't want to go on about oven cleaning,
which I'm still I still think there's work to do
on oven cleaning. I still think I'm waiting for someone
(47:06):
to come through with something sensational, to say something from
team or something. But what I can tell you that's
also home related is Genesis, the power company, is going
to launch a petition for a ban on incandescent light bulbs.
Didn't Labor start this al right? It says a phase
out for the bulbs was proposed in two thousand and eight,
(47:27):
but the next national government scrapped it and consuming us
in and called for a ban more than ten years ago.
So Genesis have prepared a petition. A petition it says,
one dollar oli of electricity buys you two fifty hours
of LED lighting, but will also buy you twenty five
(47:48):
hours of incandescent bulb lighting, so it's ten times better
to have LED bulbs and incandescent bulbs. The average house
has roughly fifteen light bulbs, and it's if you switch
from one to the other, you'll save yourself three hundred
dollars a year and electricity costs. So what incandescese ones are?
They're the old school ones which has just got the
(48:11):
squiggly wire in believe them, in between them, and that
wire heats up and gives off light and heat. So
incandescent that literally means something that emits light as a
result of been heated or at a high temperature. So
incandescent light bulbs are the ones that there old school
light bulb I'm finding this very interesting, by the way,
(48:31):
So yeah, no, God cost you a fortune, so you
need to go around your house and get rid of
them all. I have done that myself recently. I don't
know why I waited so long for it. So there's
going to be a petition to ban them. So that's
a situation. Three hundred bucks a year if you switch
your light bulbs, So there you go. That's a situation.
(48:52):
And that the new ones are not those neon, those
corkscrew ones. They are a devil to. They're a devil to.
They're horrible things because if they break, it's toxic, I think.
But the ones you want to get are the led ones,
very very good. That's the future. I don't know if
it's textually the future, but you get rid of all
of those old light bulbs because they're terrible and you'll
save a lot of money without them, and I think
(49:14):
they last a lot longer also, I'm pretty sure of that.
I think they last a much much longer time because
the other ones get hot in the filament breaks and
stuff like that. So you probably the shop should stop
selling them because people don't know they oh yeah, light
bulb by one of those. But you don't want the
incandescent ones. And I never saw the memo that they
are a bad thing, but obviously clearly they are. Calinder.
(49:36):
It's Marcus Cleving and welcome.
Speaker 9 (49:39):
Yes.
Speaker 22 (49:39):
They used to work with a guy called Franks who
used to make oven cleanus. They've seen all day just
tasting on butter and flour and making dirt and then
baking it on and then putting coptic soda and baking
soda and different quantities onto it. And so the key
is to put heat the oven a bit, put for
(50:00):
baking soda on and let it react so breefe flass
alkaline of soap and then if you've got a soap,
you get the soap. You have to add water to
rinse it off. And with the rats, I just put
them in the dish washer.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
So was he an inventor?
Speaker 22 (50:19):
Now here's just a product development technician like I was.
So he used to get paid money to make products
like Bungee PUDs and whatever.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
Okay, so what what did he come up, what was
the best solution, Well, it would be in the in
one of those cans because it's a mixture.
Speaker 4 (50:38):
But if you just want to.
Speaker 22 (50:40):
Make it cheaper yourself, you'd do Ustic soda is a
bit you know, rugged, So in my oven doesn't get
that dirty. So I just put a bit of baking
poder on in the oven astrot baked, and then you know, uh,
scrub it with goldilocks like what the other lady said,
and then move it off. And if it's a bit evil,
(51:02):
a bit of just but the racks in the shwasher
and then when you're finished with the dishwasher, give them
a quick scrub and then they come out really easily
with almost no effort.
Speaker 3 (51:13):
Great advice, clin the thanks so much for that. Someone said,
I believe them. Someone said the absolute best oven cleaner
is Selle's oven cleaner from Miter ten. It's a gel
with its own applicator on the bottle. No swelling cleans.
The othernight, New Again, I'll give that a go. A
gel sounds like the answer, although it sees it's a
white foam. So everyone's tried the Seally's give me. I'll
(51:36):
just take a photo that text, so I can actually
refer back to that until I go to Miter ten.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Greasepolice dot co dot indead oven cleaner works a treat marks.
It seems that China can apparently do what they like
in regards to us. Little we can do Australias. There
are any hopeful quick intervention wow? Any updates? I'm out
with nothing that I've heard. Chinese summarins are off in
the Pacific now, China flexing its muscle and preparation for
(52:04):
invading Taiwan. It's all about Thai that's from Cedric Marcus.
Those LED bulbs do they come in a true warm white?
I can't stand those cool white colorities. Yet people have
had trouble with LED lightings and the quality of the
light that comes out of them. I know that some
people have got remote that they can troll their lights
when they can warm it up. Steve says changing bulbs
(52:26):
to LED doesn't always work depending on age of house,
LED and standard fittings flicker badly. Plus LED won't work
if you have a dimmer. For me to swap all
to LED was nine hundred dollars by ridges Electrician. I
left as is and brought a few spare bulbs. Should
last be around ten years. Someone says Goldilocks is too
harsh on the enamel and will scratch the surface and
(52:49):
allow dirt to become ingrained and stick even more. Try
barbecue cleaner. Sensational oven cleaning tip. Ditch the Goldilocks and
use fine, wet and dry sandpaper. Total game changer. That
was good advice. A simple plea for anyone who knows
of any relief for a frozen shoulder. I cannot take
(53:09):
pharmaceutical pain relief as I drive ten hours a day
for a living and cannot get a doctor's appointment till
mid August. Tig a frozen shoulder relief. That's the discussion
for this hour. I agree with the Seally's gel for
cleaning the oven. It's fantastic. Maria, I'm in too that
I like the sound of a gel. I don't like
a spray when you've got a tired te tawelround your
head and the tee tails not big enough. They got
(53:32):
to use a bulldog clip. We gotta tie two together.
Sally's Oven clean is outstanding, double the price but twice
as good, brilliant. That's what we want to hear and England.
If you're an England supporter, how good with a today
A one of the greats. Yeah, the greatest victory since
(53:52):
sixty six four to over Germany. By the way. Robbie
Franko at the first Australia first. He's in it to
win the Australia Touring Card Championship. Has died aged eighty four.
Naturally gifted driver, one of the inaugural Wellington five. I've
had a street race in eighty five and a Volvo
two forty turbo. He going to win the eighty six
austrand Touring Car Championship, the Mark Kit pitch Volvo, the
(54:15):
flying brick of the Swedish taxi, first non Naussy to
win the championship and Volvo's only win in the category.
He bet Brocky and Dick Johnson, some big names there
and one of the inaugural ductees into the Motor Sport
New Zealand Wall of Fame Dare today at eighty four.
That's a bit of information for you. So frozen, frozen
(54:39):
shoulder and led lights, led lights no good and older
homes ugly for a frozen shoulder, try booking in for
a narrow and a flotation tanketed wonders for my pinched
over in my back. Led is bad for a health
and am it's blue with no red which makes free
artificial committer sunlight? Oh yeah, but really, really, I can't
get worried about the type of light we're using. Godness,
(55:02):
people used to get a upset about fluorescent tubes and
they are always people get upset about diferent sort of light,
and we're just lucky we've got it. So there we go.
Welcome if you don't want to talk on air, Marcus
till midnight. Fancy Prince Harry having to go through a
booking system to go and I can't even work that out.
We're got to stop even reading stories about Prince Harry.
(55:24):
It upsets me, or it doesn't upset me. I just
got that bend within my brain for that sort of stuff. Now,
so up to date and I'm looking forward to you
and put tonight if you want to talk. Oh, frozen shoulders.
I don't fully know what the definition of a frozen's
shoulder is. It's something that you always heard, but you're
never quite sure what it means. Is it a dead nerve?
(55:45):
The connective tissue becomes thick, stiff and inflamed, restricting your
range of motions. Oh, I don't know the answer there.
If everyone's got any solutions for them for tig getting
touch twenty one to ten here to Midnight Roman along
at twelve Marcus. The reason the Chinese tested the summarine
missile on the Pacific scolled the Pacific islands owe them
so much money and would not dare to complain. That
(56:05):
might be the long game. Someone says, treatment for a
frozen shoulder acupuncture or osteopathy. Could you do that yourself?
Probably not. Goldilocks is too harsh on the enamel and
will scratch the surface and allow dirt to become ingrain
and stick even more. Did anyone predict that the Aussie
pearboard confess to wanting to shag Kylie?
Speaker 9 (56:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (56:25):
It was an interesting discussion that one. And that's the
trouble when you give up doing it serious interviews and
start going on kind of podcasts and breakfast shows. What
was the what's that game called shag kill or Mary
or something? Anyway, I mean it would have been, Yeah,
(56:51):
just to get yourself older, those sorts of interviews. That's
funny though, Hitdle twelve twenty ten. Get your son, it's
eighteen to ten breaking news. What happens to get in
touch to with the old frozen shoulder Murray, it's Marcus
could even um welcome.
Speaker 20 (57:05):
Yeah, frozen shoulder man, because I just had to call up.
Even though I do have eli DS, I've had frozen
shoulders since twenty fourteen. I know quite a lot about it.
But to answer your quarters question was pretty much, nothing
you can do. He needs to the only thing which
works for me that was a temporary meter, very temporary,
(57:28):
was a cortizone Egypt and that we're off after about
two months and you're back to sleepless nights and being
uncomfortable and having to move every half hour. That's pretty month.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
You can't have quartizone too often, is that right?
Speaker 20 (57:41):
Exactly? It can damage you in other ways. Yeah, I
ask the questions.
Speaker 11 (57:45):
If you want, But what happened.
Speaker 3 (57:48):
It's damaged, it's damaged. It's overused.
Speaker 20 (57:53):
Personally, I think it's some sort of overuse syndrome because
I know my history. But it's very it's not well understood, right.
They don't really understand why it happens, and then why
some people get better and why some people don't They
say that if it doesn't correct itself in about the
first five years, you have to live with it. And
(58:13):
that's my case, though I still have very limited movement
because I have an impunchement in the shoulder. Once I'm
through that impingement, for example, I can do something, but
I can't physically get my arm to a certain height right,
So I'm limited to about forty five degrees my right
shoulder when I reach up, for example, but you're basically
(58:35):
reaching out. I can't bring my shoulder around on my
arm around behind my back. But my pain levels after
nine years of not sleeping, went down, which I wasn't
prepared for. And suddenly since the last three years, my
life's changed. I've still got the impingement, but I haven't
got the pain levels. And so maybe your caller will
(58:56):
get better.
Speaker 3 (58:57):
What do you put that down to the pain having gone?
Speaker 20 (59:01):
No idea at all? Okay, time, just time, you know,
because that's five years. I'm going with it. Me, I'm done, right,
Just cancell live with us and then tut me out
to nine years. You know, it's just bear and bed
and go.
Speaker 22 (59:15):
You know what.
Speaker 20 (59:15):
I'm not huting because it doesn't matter what position you're in,
you're trying to favor your shoulder or even driving, like
if you I've got my right shoulder, sometimes they have
to drive left handed, change gear lyift handed, open my
door left handed. Everything you're shut yourself into your left handed.
It's horrible.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
Is there anything I don't know anything about it, But
is there anything that you can do to increase blood
flow or anything to that area that's supposed to make it?
You know how you can you can hear itself.
Speaker 20 (59:41):
If everyone's going to say they can help you.
Speaker 19 (59:42):
So you go to an acupulcture, Yeah, okay, and you've
got help rustrating and.
Speaker 20 (59:47):
There's nothing works. You know, I've even done I'm just
sort of my head like sort of aroma therapy, was
you know whatever?
Speaker 3 (59:56):
But is there any science too, they say it? Is
there any ways to make it feel? Is there any
ways to help the body repair itself? What are you
trying to do? Is a message? Is a message or
anything that they're going to.
Speaker 20 (01:00:07):
Basically, you've got to keep moving for the first nine years.
If I moved and you wake up in the morning,
you keep going and you get a bit of through movement, guy,
you get out, you do your thing like chater on.
Speaker 17 (01:00:19):
What do you get to do?
Speaker 20 (01:00:20):
And you can do it which limit should movement and
you'll be fine. But as soon as you stop, you
sit down till let's say, you know what, you're sitting
in a chair chees my shoulder heads, you know, and
you're going to pay a price, and then you'll have
a price for a few days. So you can't do
anything and you have to let you be able to
do some things. It's it's hell.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Yeah, I'm hearing it, Mara. Thanks for coming through. Appreciate
that we're talking frozen shoulders.
Speaker 15 (01:00:44):
Why not.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
While this is Marcus good evening.
Speaker 23 (01:00:48):
Hi Marcus, I am not a scene that the weather
in the Wellington region is starting to deteriorate. The fire
station next door to me is starting to get more
frequent called outs as the weather continues to degrade. Wellington
is currently not under any watches or warnings at this time,
(01:01:08):
but due to our soil conditions, things could escalate very
very quickly because this storm is on top of the
previous storms that we've had, which means our soils are
very saturated, which means there's a high risk of slips
and flash flooding. On top of pre existing damage that's
(01:01:31):
around the new Town area.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
So it's been wet previously.
Speaker 23 (01:01:34):
It's been wet previously because we still haven't recovered from
last week's storm.
Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
Okay, and yeah, I forgot me. There's so many storms
happening off forget about which ones are on their way. Okay.
Speaker 23 (01:01:44):
It's just the conditions are continuing to deteriorate and there's
a lot of hidden risk at the moments that people
won't know about until a slip happens or flooding occurs
without warning.
Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
You keep us posted with you. I appreciate up twelve
away from teen held your horses with you, son, Yeah,
not away from ten. That's Marcus. Good evening, Good thanks Brad.
Speaker 9 (01:02:10):
There's just the discussion about the broken shoulder there. I've
got I've got a bead of both both, but fortunately
I don't getting pain with it, so I'm very lucky there.
But yeah, it's very restrictive in terms of reaching for
anything above shoulder. Heart. You know, it's a it's a
bloody nightmare. Three it's and it just happened overnight, like
(01:02:32):
about three years ago. I just started getting less extincsion
and now you know, I can't go above the horizontal.
You know, we'll pay in the US.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
On both sides you today, Yeah, both sides, Yeah did
both sides got.
Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
Once nostracily about four months apart. But I had all
this again and in my eyes, and it's just done.
All the ligaments and dinners going off from rugby over
the years, sick, fire, light, crash two all day, how
many how many?
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
How many years ago were your were your rugby days?
Speaker 9 (01:03:06):
I retired cream now fift to set. So yeah, played
quite a continuous poured in your stretch. And yeah, yeah,
I had lots of shoulder injuries throughout my career because
it plays you can for it's a high and pact position.
Your shoulders had legal, but lots of shoulder injuries. And yeah,
I played the perison here. I think not with pain.
(01:03:27):
That's certainly the ability to extend in certain directions.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
I do it.
Speaker 9 (01:03:32):
Hang washing, I've got a swan beharm up there.
Speaker 10 (01:03:35):
And and.
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
When you shoulder injuries as a rugby player, let's just
rest and recuperate that it's not you're not breaking shoulders
or anything.
Speaker 9 (01:03:48):
No, no, no, of the bothy both you think that
there's my road take off.
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
It's a little Oh that's right. That's a real that's
a real nigga one, isn't it.
Speaker 9 (01:03:58):
Yeah, it's got a thing called the labor and it's
like a nurlon water. And I've cracked both of mine
and forgery and they did a heel. They just did
a crack of them. But no pain, which is that
the doctors are made. I don't have pain, but I'll
just wep. I don't, but yeah, because that would be
a nightmare. We got him in appearing rugby injury, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
And there's no operations, few or anything that can happen.
Speaker 9 (01:04:20):
No, no, because once you hes net pop, they shrink
back into the position, the retreated position. And once I've
been there for six months or longer that they just
can't stretched them out again. He did limited physio, but
you advice. I thot it was gonna be like you
get five percent. And it's possibly pay of the reasons
(01:04:43):
that I wasn't that good as fire through with physio
when I hit the leg injuries. You know, I was
a lazy I just get playing, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
Well, yeah, but that's the thing about physios. A fine
line doesn't off it things that you can they give
you exercises to to get and you can overdo them
as well. You can do more damage too. I've always
thought it's a bit of a fine line with physio
because you can you can go the other way.
Speaker 9 (01:05:06):
Yeah, for sure. And it was pain involved too, you know,
and you've got to push through that pain and and
I avoid it, you know, Feman, nature musically dictates that
you don't do it, and Lea you stay strictly, strictly disciplined.
But this is a consequence of it. You know, later
on if you don't do your physico you might lose it.
But yeah, I give the entrance were broken in the
(01:05:28):
snapped kingdoms and stuff and over a long period of time.
But when I first did it, the doctor said, did
you not feel it? I was like, no, I really know.
All of a sudden, I just throught this lack of extinction.
But I do remember one of those going I was
do the building project and I was lifting over after
and I just went in a funny England one of
(01:05:49):
them popped and I think that was one of the
last ones, and it was a bit of a twin.
Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
Can you can you still work around.
Speaker 9 (01:05:57):
No, not not physically no, but but I trained in
any way and glowing co management. So I can go
back to that, but no physical weeks. But the other question,
so it's just it's it's quite kind of dangerous, especially
later than that we've got three points of contact. It's
easy above your hege. Really quite dangerous. Yeah, it's a
(01:06:19):
really became quite limiting. And what I can do even passing,
you know, passing some of a drink or something, you know,
I look like a bit of a reach out. I
just can't get my extinction outwards and upwards.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
Yeah, do you watch the game on Did you watch
the game on Saturday?
Speaker 8 (01:06:38):
Grant?
Speaker 9 (01:06:39):
No, I could highlights second year. I would love to
content Groatis boys can be led over in the stadium.
Speaker 6 (01:06:45):
Year.
Speaker 9 (01:06:45):
I would love to go seeing a game. Actually fantastic one.
Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
It seems pretty impressed. Right, nice to talk. If you
got a text about Kaha, can I offer an opinion Ontoka?
It'll be very unpopular among fellow christ Church residents. Problems
include the long chees to winter, the manual ticket scanning,
long cues for the conditions people in the temporary stand
him to leave the roof stadium to get refreshments and
use the toilets outside the stadium, and for some reason
(01:07:10):
for the Ullbecks test, the stadium lining was ridiculously bright,
making it hard to focus on the players. Lots of
corners cut to keep the costs down. It's far from
world class, but better obviously than the temporary stadium, so
it might take a while for people to realize the
shortcomings quite apart from being too small. Also, that's from Gareth.
(01:07:31):
I think with the extra people it was up to thirty,
it was twenty five thousand, with five thousand extra for thirty.
But those seats cost one hundreds each to put in. Yeah,
we're on to rotator cuffs and shoulders frozen shoulder wonder
if he was any good that rugby player seemed to be.
I went to thirty eight or something, thirty sixty eight
Heetel twelve. If you want to partake the weather, I
(01:07:52):
don't know how bad the weather is today. How bad
is the weather today? I don't know. But I'll keep
giving you updates. Yep, that'll happen. It's always hard at
night to get the updates. But yeah, I just thought
the signaling south of Dunedin last night, I mean fair enough.
They did sell not to drive, but it was.
Speaker 23 (01:08:09):
It was.
Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
It seems like the roads were flooded they already went
stopping people going through. I mean they might have been
short of personnel, but yeah, I think probably need flashing
lights and stuff, particularly on the flood free Highway, cause
at nighttime you can't see where the water's coming from.
You don't know how flooded it is. What we are
talking about. If you want to talk on air, my
name is Marcus. Welcome, eight hundred and eighty ten eighty.
(01:08:32):
You want to text, good Hititle twelve frozen shoulders. We
are talking frozen shoulders. Someone's got a job driving with
a frozen shoulder. They can't get a doctor for a while.
There are a lot of pain, and some have said
that there's not much you can do about it really,
which is probably not much good for that guy to hear.
But you know, by bearing in mind too, like you know,
(01:08:55):
with all these situations, when people ring up if something's
wrong for them, I would just think it's probably worth
saying there's a myriad of different causes and a mirroad
of different solutions or PEPs solution, we've got to text
for us. I'll tell the guy's got to do this
or got to do that. Yeah, I mean, not everything
works for everyone. So I'm not quite sure why I'm
saying that, but I just get somebody adamant text these,
(01:09:18):
Oh he's got to do this, you got to do that.
But you know, every you got to do is costing
people a lot of money. Every got to do is expensive.
So I'm always mindful. I don't want to send people
because it's not my area. You know, I'm a talk host.
I do want to send people to do things that
are going to cost a lot of money with very
little chance of a result. So I'm always mindful of that.
Just that's kind of that's kind of my motivation if
(01:09:39):
you want to talk more about this, But yeah, that's
just me, Timm. It's Marcus.
Speaker 13 (01:09:44):
Good evening, Yeah, you good evening, Marcus. Your shoulders well,
are your shoulder as well? They're not frozen or.
Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
My shoulders are phone mine all right.
Speaker 13 (01:09:55):
Which is good for us. Now, a friend of mine
who has been a concrete all his life, so we're
pretty hard and he's got some issue with the shoulder,
had it for a few years, probably about five years now,
and he find a pierce of ears and bear in
mind what you just said about saying things that I
(01:10:16):
would do and say to anyone you have to do this,
or I can say it with but he is. He's
got a connection to Thailand, so he's over there later
this year and he's going to engage in some stem
cell therapy. Wow, particularly for his shoulder. So yeah, like yourself,
(01:10:40):
I wouldn't say you have to do it or you know,
he's as guy really investigates stuff deeply, you know, and
there's just something people may also want to look at.
You know, you start where you start, at physio and
all that type of thing.
Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
Tell me quickly they put your own cells in there.
Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
Do they?
Speaker 24 (01:11:02):
Well?
Speaker 13 (01:11:03):
I think so, you know, again I called up without
really knowing a great deal about.
Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
What I'm talking.
Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
That's ideal because you've you've declared that they sound pretty
good to me, and I haven't heard stem cells stem
cells yet, so it's this is pretty good stuff what
you're saying for you know.
Speaker 13 (01:11:19):
People, younger kids, younger people or not necessarily younger people
who are going to have children in the future. You
harvest the stem cells as the kids are born, and
you know, store them cryorgenically for the kids from the future.
Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
You know, are they from the are they from the
umbilical cord?
Speaker 13 (01:11:44):
Probably from probably from the umbilical cord or placenter. I mean,
percenter is pretty much a source of goodness, isn't it.
So again, I'm just filling in. I'm just saying things,
did you make with the connection?
Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
Times you're taking his own stem shells across and it's
going to get given someone else's.
Speaker 13 (01:12:03):
Well told me the other day, and I hit him
with that question. And the impression I got is that
he'll get given someone else's. That's just the impression I had.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
But that freaked me out.
Speaker 13 (01:12:16):
Yeah, I mean in every other regard, I mean, this
guy is super you know, he's like say age, he's
fifty seven, but he's really really fit, and so you know,
he's had every good set of stem selves on him,
I would imagine from this failing shoulder. But the most
(01:12:36):
you know, sort of random people the day, keep maybe.
Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
Keep us posted. I'll be curious to how they go.
What is this connection with Tyler and Tim?
Speaker 13 (01:12:46):
Well, he met a tiger olavy here about think years ago,
and they got together and married and they got a
child and here they Yeah, so each year or eighteen
months they go back for different periods of time. You know,
they take this time. He's just going with those daughter
(01:13:07):
to you know, met up with the grandparents over there,
and just keep hearing types of their aspect of her hair,
other culture. You know here, because she looks here permanently, brilliant.
Speaker 3 (01:13:20):
It's good, a good exploation. Tim, Thank you, Andrew. This
is Marcus Welcome.
Speaker 6 (01:13:24):
Hi, Hello mat Hi.
Speaker 22 (01:13:27):
I have just tuned in, but I heard you talking
about frozen's shoulder. I feel like I'm a bit of
an expert in it. I developed my frozen shoulder in
twenty twenty one. I was fifty one then, and it
was I had the second COVID vaccination and I had
the dull ache, which eventually turned into the most agonizing
(01:13:51):
pain in the world that I can ever describe. And
it's I probably spent a good year and a half
with a lot of pain and then restricted in your movements.
So I'm not sure. Was there a caller that has
called in saying he's got frozen shoulder and was wondering
any hints or ways he could pereps.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Have you got any solutions?
Speaker 22 (01:14:13):
I just heat pack, really and time, because there's three
stages to a frozen shoulder, and the most painful part
is when it's freezing, and then it's the most restricted
part to the shoulder when you can't when you have
no movement, as the frozen stage, everything is stuck. And
(01:14:33):
then there's the sawing stage. So each of those stages
take a long time. And I couldn't do Saysia. It
was just too painful. Some people can because it's like
a spectrum.
Speaker 25 (01:14:45):
You know.
Speaker 22 (01:14:46):
So I felt that I had it was pretty bad.
But I couldn't move, I couldn't get dressed, I couldn't
I couldn't drive some days, and not a lot of
pain relief either.
Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
So it was it because if we had the where
the vexing went.
Speaker 22 (01:15:02):
Well, no, so it was the information from that and
it sort of has spread. It goes into the joint.
So not everyone is from that obviously. I mean the
Japanese call it the fifty year of shoulder, so it
sort of happens around that fifty plus age for a
lot of people. But for me, that's that was the
(01:15:25):
reason for mine. And man, it's the worst pain I've
ever had, and I've had three kids. That's saying something.
Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
So remind me of what you saw as the solutions
to it. You said there were many.
Speaker 22 (01:15:38):
I just I just felt that heat packs were the
most helpful. I didn't find any pain relief particularly that
particularly worked. And just time actually, because each stage of
a frozen shoulder takes time. But if the guy's in
heaps of pain at the moment, that's the freezing part
(01:15:59):
of a frozen shoulder. There's three stages.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
How long does it take for you, Andrea Well, I said.
Speaker 22 (01:16:07):
Say, it took probably two or three years. It was
over sort of by the third year. I had a
lot more movement and less pain, and I thought I
was through it. And interestingly, about two weeks ago it
started to flare up again. So it's the Yeah, it's
a real problem. And it can spread to the other
(01:16:28):
shoulder as well.
Speaker 7 (01:16:31):
Some people get it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
Why would that happen?
Speaker 22 (01:16:34):
Well, the specialists that I saw said forty percent of
people it can travel to the other joint, like it's
the inflammation. So and particularly for women as well. And
I think when you know, for people who are going
or woman going through metapause. So yeah, those are just
(01:16:56):
little bit some information I picked up along the way
when I was doing my.
Speaker 5 (01:17:00):
Deep dive into it all.
Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
No acupuncture or anything like that.
Speaker 22 (01:17:04):
Oh no, I couldn't take it, honestly.
Speaker 3 (01:17:08):
So it's just heat any other thing that was useful.
Speaker 22 (01:17:13):
No, just heat pegs.
Speaker 3 (01:17:15):
Okay, appreciate that. Andrey, thank you, hold your horses with you,
certain people. Twenty past ten, Rosley, it's Marcus. Welcome and
good evening.
Speaker 26 (01:17:25):
Good evening.
Speaker 27 (01:17:26):
Yeah, I heard.
Speaker 26 (01:17:27):
I just switched it on my radio. I heard the
previous gentleman talking about stem cells. I've actually had that
stem self there if we'd done in Auckland, so I thought,
you know, I could give some information tell me about that. Yes,
that what they do is they take it through lifer section.
They take fat from your stomach area, then they put
(01:17:50):
it through a central huge system and extract the stem cells.
Then they mix it all a bit of your blood
and inject it back into your arm.
Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
So what was it trying to? What were you what
was the problem that was trying to solve?
Speaker 26 (01:18:07):
In my case, I had severe pain in my shoulders.
Speaker 3 (01:18:10):
I think it's part of Oh okay, that was everything
what we're talking about.
Speaker 26 (01:18:14):
Sure, yeah, yeah, I think it was injury plus probably
wearing tear and a rotato cuff tear. So it was
an excruciating pain. So I got the pain killers weren't
helping much, so I thought I'll try that and it
(01:18:34):
didn't cure it, but it's I'm not on painkillers anymore
and it gave me a great.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Relief, So it was it was a worthwhile thing to do.
Speaker 26 (01:18:43):
Definitely, definitely I'm not I'm not taking in pain killers now.
Sometimes I get a bit of twinges and that, but
you know, at least I'm not having to resort to
medication or anything.
Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
Did you have to do that privately?
Speaker 15 (01:18:57):
Oh?
Speaker 26 (01:18:58):
Yes I did. Yes, it's not cheap.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Yeah, appreciate that, Rosie.
Speaker 4 (01:19:01):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
Twenty one past ten high Leslie. It's Marcus Good evening.
Sorry bad push. Its Marcus Good Evening.
Speaker 15 (01:19:08):
Hi.
Speaker 25 (01:19:09):
Hi, I've got a I've got a frozen shoulder. I
had a craniotomy just under a year ago and as
a result of the operation I got I got a
frozen shoulder from being you know, out for twelve hours.
Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
And so is that common?
Speaker 27 (01:19:36):
Uh?
Speaker 25 (01:19:36):
Well, I've found out from my orthopedic surgeon that yes
it is, and Wellington Hospital has actually changed their practice
as a as a result.
Speaker 7 (01:19:46):
So the so I've leant.
Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
And I presume of a crabiotomy for brain surgery, is
it right?
Speaker 22 (01:19:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 25 (01:19:54):
Five five brain tremors. And and so I've been with
Phisio through the through the hospital ever so from a
shoulder and and I'm still waiting to get a cortizone
in the shoulder because I've been going through ACC trying
(01:20:17):
to get a accepted for treatment injury. That's been a
long process. But hydrotherapy is something that has increased. That's
why I thought i'd bring in because I haven't heard
that one mentioned as a treatment to help get the
(01:20:39):
help get some of the movement back in the hydrotherrapy pools.
Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
Yes, and yeah, you move around.
Speaker 25 (01:20:46):
Is that what it is or it's yeah, yeah, just
sort of like by bit the sort of because you
get more bit more movement in a in a warm
hated pool and you're doing a cold pool obviously, Yeah,
and less impact.
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
And is it different from a stnic as you're moving around.
Speaker 25 (01:21:04):
Well, you've got less well, I mean you don't get
you can't sort of like move very much anyway, but
you know when you've got a frozen shoulder. But I've
definitely got more movement over the last era. I mean
I can actually now hang a towel on the clothesline,
whereas I couldn't even lift my arm up to my
waist before. But you can, you can move. You can
(01:21:28):
move in the water more then you can move outside
of the water, so and being in heat, you've got
less impact. And oh, I don't know. There's something in
warm water that does that does something more than cold water.
And there's something in water that does better outside of
(01:21:49):
water is.
Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
Brain tumors.
Speaker 25 (01:21:53):
No, no, I think it was more than twelve hour operation.
Speaker 8 (01:21:56):
I think than they all close together, it's what the trumors.
Speaker 25 (01:22:01):
Yeah, yeah, the trumers were all fairly close together. But
I think I don't think they were expecting to have
a twelve hour operation.
Speaker 4 (01:22:09):
I think it was.
Speaker 25 (01:22:11):
Yeah, it was only supposed to be an eight hour operation.
But yeah, yes, so no, they weren't expecting to give
me a friend and shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
No, no, that's it.
Speaker 7 (01:22:22):
Yeah, okay, but that wasn't expected.
Speaker 4 (01:22:24):
Yeah a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
Yeah, Well, I guess I want to try and think
about how, yeah, where those nerves go from there.
Speaker 25 (01:22:33):
I think it's more because you know, you're you're lying
flat on your back for an extended period of time,
you know, flat on a on a board. Like I said,
Wellington Hospital said that they've they've accept a responsibility for it,
and they've said that they've actually changed some of their
practices as a result.
Speaker 20 (01:22:55):
So I did.
Speaker 25 (01:22:56):
I don't know exactly what it is they've changed, and
I didn't really want to know. Batha.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
Yeah, so you're hopeful you'll be free of that pain,
I guess ah, no, No, Well.
Speaker 25 (01:23:10):
I'm always forever optimistic. But I just thought i'd throw
throw the idea of hydro therapy pools out there to
someone else who might still be in the same pain.
And you know, they may be near a hydrotherapy pool
and you know, go dive into it, get stuck in,
because it does make a difference.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
Appreciate. Oh by the way, I did see that Niger
had rung up too, Thanks for that. Dan Nigel is
driving from Picked into christ Church. He says there is
rocks on the road both north and south of Cheviot
and very heavy rain. He's an experienced truck driver and
for him to call up with that, that's a big deal.
(01:23:52):
I haven't got any road closures yet. I'll check. I'll
check when cater's the heads end, I'll check that we've
got any how the roads are high on its Marcus Good.
Speaker 10 (01:24:05):
Evening markets starn here first time caller.
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
Natty from your dom, thank you for identifying yourself.
Speaker 21 (01:24:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:24:12):
I had a frozen shoulder, white bad one in October
last year, and I went to the doctor with a
different complaint and he said to me, what's wrong with you, am?
I said, I don't know. He said, oh, you've got
a frozen shoulder. In What he did, he gave me
an injection in the top of my shoulder. We called
it a steroid injection. And I went back three or
(01:24:36):
four weeks later here he gave me the second steroid injection.
Now it's one hundred percent good as gold, no more problems,
and it's.
Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
Gonna we're off for It's good forever.
Speaker 10 (01:24:46):
He said. It should be good forever.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
Oh good, I know that steroids. Sometimes you kind of
have too many, don't know. Sometimes I'll give it to
a rugby plant beg and back on the field. I
don't know how long it lasts.
Speaker 10 (01:24:55):
Yeah, he said, I can only have two at that time.
But he said in the future. He said, they had
problem come back, he said, but you should be good
as gold.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
Yeah, we hang out too much washing what we do.
Speaker 10 (01:25:06):
To cause that just no reason at all, It just
it just came on.
Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
Good on him to identify that when it's not even
what you're gone for. That's always a bonus.
Speaker 10 (01:25:15):
Yeah, no, the stair would certainly certainly did the trick
the nurse. The nurse gave me the first one in
the back of my shoulder when and I saw a
different doctor the second time, and he said, oh no, no,
it should be you never damaged your shoulder. He said
it should been given on the top of your shoulder
where all the muscles and tens are attached to you.
(01:25:36):
So he gave me the second one on top of
my shoulder and it cured one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
That's a miracle. Thank you that someone's texted through. They
did both his shoulders and speedway. Wow, someone did speak
to a rower a text here. I had a frozen
shoulder developed from tearing my muscle and tend and from
a full on my shoulder. I had two months with
a physio and a quarter zone injection and nothing helped.
Aufter three months was on a huge pain. There's some
research you found awesome inipative acupuncturist named Garethy works with
(01:26:02):
in for red Light Game Changer. He d me out
of pain in one month. I had full movement in six.
I was told it'd take two years to come right.
I also incorporated the Nfred sauna that was at Waitarkari
Health Hub. Game change. I love how people say game
just become the word, isn't it game changer. Someone says
they've found hemp gummies, miracle four weeks all paying gone
(01:26:24):
back swimming. That's the answer. And I will check on
the roads also too. But there's heavy rocks. There's rocks
and heavy rain, hecks, rocks both sides of the row
near Cheviot. The fairies are still running, but a couple
of tugs to bring it in tonight. So there's some
fairly strong winds there. If you want to talk on air,
that's the plan. There's lines free. If someone says, if
(01:26:48):
you've got a frozen shoulder, don't sleep with your cell phone.
So there we go, get in touch. I've read some
more of the texts before too long. Oh eight hundred
and eighty ten eighty. I'll be here till midnight. Rowman
will be along at twelve tonight, So that's the way
it's going to roll tonight. Short week with Matariki Le.
I have a frozen shoulder. I use hot water and
metal cream, which is like deep heat. What's everyone's opinion
(01:27:11):
on weighted blankets? I have a seven killer when one,
and it's great?
Speaker 13 (01:27:14):
Is it?
Speaker 23 (01:27:14):
There?
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
Is it for a for a frozen shoulder just because
you're like a weighted blanket? Oh my god. Frozen sholder
of very painful time. Gendle stretches and a capacture helped
much better, but sort of more eighty percent. Someone said
it's common in women over fifty with menopause. I don't
know what the connection is there, but I don't. I'm
not saying there's not, I just don't. I've had a
(01:27:36):
three or four text that said that. Someone said, what
became of the emergency phone warnings we've had that? Marcus.
I found much help with shoulder problems on YouTube. Keep
trying different ones until you find one that works. I
had some of my blood removed by syringed and reinjected
to my shoulder as a steroid addiction did not work.
That worked for me. It's never come back done. At
(01:27:56):
Southern Cross I got frozen shoulder from an operation having
my arm in the air for a few hours, I
got into the physica at the hospital for two years
to exercise. I've got my arm moving again. I can
now put it in the air through though painful. Oh
so it must be a thing for operations for frozen
soldier shoulder. Sorry for a frozen shoulder. I went to
(01:28:18):
a specialist who sent me to have hydro dilation. They
put a needle into your joint and push water through it.
Speaker 14 (01:28:25):
It worked.
Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
My shoulder was painfully afterwards, I had a full range
of motion. And I'm pleased with myself for not making
a lame joke after saying frozen soldier. Ah, and congratulations
to all you people of English extraction, because it's looking
exciting now for the World Cup, so they look. I've
(01:28:46):
enjoyed reading about everyone's match reports. The round of sixteen
matches left Portugal Spain tomorrow at seven am, USA, Belgium
tomorrow midday. That's free to wear, Argentina Egypt Wednesday four
am in the morning. And then we're down to the quarters.
So we've got France and Morocco, We've got England and
(01:29:10):
Norway and then either yeah, then either USA or Belgium
and put you all of Spain is at the matches
on to I've got that one right now. Put your
Spain would be quite exciting match, so now it gets interesting.
And also Switzerland Columbia. Oh yeah, so one two. So
there's five round of sixteen matches left. Now there must
(01:29:33):
be four because that's yeah, there's four. There's four spots
left and four rounded yet. So we've got four quarter
finals France, Brocco, Norway, England and four more to be
found from four matches. Put your Spain, USA, Belgium, Argentina, Egypt, Switzerland, Columbia.
So sorry for making a bit of a heck of that,
but we've got that one all worked out. And yes
the football they was say, we've got yeah, and then
(01:29:53):
there's a third place playoff match. I wish they didn't
have that. So the final will be the twentieth. So
it's it's not far away now, just two weeks away.
We are talking frozen shows. I'm finding it free interesting.
Always nice to discuss something when you know you haven't
got it. It sounds terrible and what even sounds worrise
is frozen's shoulder doesn't sound you tell something got a
frozen shouldering, Well whatever, but actually it should be an extremely.
(01:30:16):
It needs a name that's more efflective of the pain
that's involved with having this condition. Sort of diminishes a bit.
Calling it a frozen shoulder sounds like a should be
called a shoulder pain tunai or something, because people say
it's not good. That's the plant also cleaning and over
and I'm going to try the cell's gel. I tried
bike baking so to paste but didn't love it. And
(01:30:40):
oh yes, let me just have a bit of a
look at the floods. I promised you that a weather
update because I'll tell you what the weather and we're
interneed in year's day, and the weather was unbelievably how
heavy and driving back we havef to need and we
had to drop the kids off at a flight, so
I think they got off on the plane of a
half past seven, I think from Momona, and we drove
south from there and there was water coming across the road.
(01:31:00):
There was cars off the road. It was quite bad. Now,
in the defense, they did say keep driving to a minimum,
but I also thought they needed to be better signaling
to show where the floods were. Although I realized it
was a fast unfolding situation, but yeah, I still thought
they could have. If this thing's becoming more and more often,
which is happening, we need better signage for weather. We
(01:31:23):
need much better signage.
Speaker 28 (01:31:25):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
I'm just on the website to find out where the
roads are, not where the roads are, but where the
and I'm not liking the new Waka Katahi website. It's
become even more complicated. I'm on it now to check
road closures and I'm doing that as we speak. I
don't like this website. You can never find out what
you want. A lot of the road closures aren't to
(01:31:46):
do with the weather, just to do with stabilization and stuff.
State ETI seven ki Burned to Outrim is closed. Statehi
Addy five ki Burned to Palmerston. Just say take extra care.
Actually Kiburn to Outrium is now open, but advice to
take extra care. State Highway won why take you bridge
(01:32:06):
to Pecuri that is closed due to flooding. A detour
is in place. I guess it's probably quite a long detail,
is it. I don't know if you've got to go
right up the river or not. You wouldn't have to
get right up the river, would you? You might have
to You might have to go right up to Kirao
the Okay, I don't know if that's If that's how
someone could tell me about that. The diversion there. State
(01:32:27):
Highway eight fairly to Lake Pukak is closed because of ice,
but the roads north seem to be fine, so it's
not closed around Calcutta or they are expecting big rain
there and it's a tree falling across the road State
Hiway sixty three northwest of Saint Arno at Kowa Terry.
(01:32:47):
There's a detail in place there. If there's a situation
with the roads for tonight twenty one away from eleven o'clock,
if you've got any weather updates for us, let us
know what's happening. Will to talking about frozen shoulders, frozen country,
frozen shoulders are Rain in Kakuta is expected to last
for thirty six to forty eight hours, springing up to
six hundred milimeters of rain, which is a lot. There's
(01:33:07):
a red warning for the area through to early Wednesday morning.
One of the biggest concern is how the rainfall would
affect the rivers. Give most of the rains expected to
be on the ranges rather than on the flat. That's
our concern. We've got on a resource board and to
support us. This is according to head Biscuit pick Kearney
emergency operations sent to controller and Marlboro has a heavy
rain warning which is rare. And I've just lost it
(01:33:31):
hasn't connected for me. People had it on and then
it hasn't disappeared. I'll bring that to you people, But
I think Hanna is going to get hat as well.
Hand mah, you're right with that hand mah. So that's
what we've got. If you want to talk about the
weather or about frozen shoulders, we're about cleaning the oven. Marcus.
The diversion around the peculiary floodawamenu is fire seven mile road.
Oh so you mustn't have to go right up to cure.
(01:33:51):
Must be a short dog leg Marcus. Frozen shoulder disproportionately
affect women with the onset of perimenopause and menopause due
to the decline in estrogen. Thank you for that. I
had frozen shoulder years ago. It resolved on its finally
after a couple of years. The worst thing was suddenly
putting your arm up to catch a ball on The
pain was incredible. Glad I don't have anymore and sounds ghastly.
(01:34:15):
Someone thinks it probably should be called the devil shoulder,
which I like, like the devil elbow. Cruso, this is Marcus.
Good evening and welcome, thanks Marcus.
Speaker 14 (01:34:26):
When it comes to frozen shoulders on into venison, stag shoulder, mutton.
Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
Shoulder, frozen the freezer, yeah that's.
Speaker 14 (01:34:35):
That's the frozen shoulders on them too.
Speaker 3 (01:34:37):
He hated that sort of frozen shoulder too.
Speaker 14 (01:34:39):
And you know how someone wanted to band the light bulb, Well, ah,
well we just banned ten eighty. That's always a good
chat on took ZV.
Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
This stopped going on about that for a while, haven't they.
Speaker 14 (01:34:52):
Isn't it ironic that the tennady poison and then at
the ZIB ten eighty radio It's like, I don't know,
that's a bit ironic, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
Do you know why we are? Do you know what
it is called ten? Why the radio station is eight eighty?
Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
Why is that?
Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
Because where when one zed b in Auckland first started,
it was on AM ten eighty.
Speaker 14 (01:35:16):
Oh borly, gosh, Marcus, what year was that? Roughly? Because
there would have been some good crackle coming through you
way his way.
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Hey, rute, Cruso. You know how you asked what year
is that? Yeah, that's a really good question because do
you know why you don't know? In three weeks time,
it will be the one hundredth birthday of one zed.
Speaker 6 (01:35:36):
B oh Well.
Speaker 3 (01:35:39):
On that note, it started. It started in the Strand
Arcade in Auckland one hundred years ago. Then it moved
to broadcasting House in Durham Street. Then it moved to
the corner of Crook Street and Hobson Street. Then it
moved to Graham Street. Yeah, a lot of history.
Speaker 14 (01:35:55):
Hey, I got a couple of good political ideas for
any parties that want to jump in and get some
good votes. Sure, drop the driving age back to fifteen
for the learners. Let's get this country moving, Let's get
these kids to work. And I still have another one.
Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
You reminded me of what was it you should be
writing this down because he's a goal.
Speaker 14 (01:36:13):
What were you just saying? What were you just saying.
Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
About one hundred anniversary of radio?
Speaker 14 (01:36:19):
Yeah, bring back the bunny your TV mate, so we
can just plug in the TV on for me to
be you know, bring back the buddy your frequency mate.
Speaker 13 (01:36:26):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
Yeah, would be would we be any votes in it, though,
would there Cruso, I'd definitely be voting for that for
Bunny is.
Speaker 14 (01:36:37):
Yeah, bring it back, mate, bring it back so you
can just plug the TV in anywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
Easy legend, Thank you, Crusoe leg end. Remember I tried
to get rid of not saying ten eighth. I forgot
how I did it to write it down? Wait wait,
one hundred eighty eight forgotten how done it? How'd I
(01:37:01):
say it? Dana?
Speaker 18 (01:37:05):
One?
Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
Oh wait? Oh wait? Oh wait no one oh waito?
Frozen shot? Are so paid? What it happens fors a
woman's that's cause enough to redesign the bra, to do
it from the front rather than the back. A man
must have invented the bra? Who invented the bread and
invent itself? Fourteen to eleven. I don't got no idea
about that. Actually. Oh, by the way, the West Coast
(01:37:27):
State Hallway sixth West Coast right now, the West coast
that's that she's over over West Coast is closed. Also,
the powers out, the whole way down powers out from
Lake Parling into Lake i Emphy. So yep, something big
has happened there, Alistair. It's Marcus evening.
Speaker 7 (01:37:42):
Him Margaret, how are you good?
Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
Thank you welllister, how are you?
Speaker 7 (01:37:46):
It's a bit of a long story. Do we have time? Yes, okay.
I have a lot of health problems. We can go
into those later. But I've got an injured leg from
before COVID. And the reason that's still an injury is
when I was going to the phisio and when COVID
shut down, I couldn't see the phizsio, so my leg
(01:38:07):
are trophied the muscles and I'm just getting back to
health on that. And I was getting in and out
of the car hospital vehicle looking for a house because
they couldn't discharge me until I had accommodation. Now what's
confusing in that.
Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
Description because you couldn't find a combination because you couldn't
get into a car.
Speaker 7 (01:38:24):
When I was getting into the car, my leg was
going left right. I aggravated the knee. So now I'm
on crutches. Yeah, and I'm an temporary emergency accommodation for
some mental health reasons.
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
Sure, I like it. It sounds like it's good spirits,
but it sounds like it's been a tough time for you.
Speaker 7 (01:38:42):
I have a diagnosis of a ADHD, which is a
neurodevelopmental disorder. And I have about four or sex neuropsychiatric
disorders like bipolar effective disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, chronic post
traumatic stress disorder. And I said the shy one, didn't
(01:39:03):
I under it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:06):
You're not diagnosed if you're not that shy, if you
brung up the radio.
Speaker 7 (01:39:09):
Well, I've got my ADHD auditor. I've been on medication
for four years, a non stimulant called Adamoster Team, which
is Eli Lilli's straterra getting bit technical. So I'm a
member of the ADHD Association and I volunteer by looking
at the Facebook groups. They got three Facebook groups. So
(01:39:31):
it's forty bucks to join the association. And if you
want an assessment, it costs over one thousand dollars. I
paid four thousand dollars for private gear sure and.
Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
That was worth it to get a diagnose for that.
Speaker 7 (01:39:44):
Oh yes, because when I was in England, I worked
by way up through the food chain. I was getting
three hundred pounds a day, three hundred and twenty pounds
a day, that's like one thousand dollars a day now
that was contract rate.
Speaker 3 (01:39:57):
So if I work for twelve is this on your
Facebook page weeks. No LinkedIn, but what we're getting paid five?
Speaker 20 (01:40:05):
Sorry?
Speaker 7 (01:40:05):
Yes, sorry, now you're talking about the idea here I'm
on LinkedIn.
Speaker 3 (01:40:09):
I'm not.
Speaker 7 (01:40:10):
I think the way you find work has had to
pay for LinkedIn perumium, which is eighty dollars the month.
Speaker 3 (01:40:18):
Did you want to say anything to the people?
Speaker 9 (01:40:20):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:40:20):
Okay, thanks to Alistair. How do your horses people with you? Son?
Hi Graham today?
Speaker 11 (01:40:25):
Marcus Marcus remedy that I've tried. I didn't have a
problem with the shoulder, but I'll just lead up to
about four months ago, I had capital tunnel problem. My
right hand was basically useless anyway, so I decided to
(01:40:49):
Like I've had a couple in the family have had
operations which were to successful. I lived by myself, so
it was a problem. And I used DPS on it,
which can be brought at any chemists, and you wouldn't
even know I had capital tunnel now, yea. And I
would suggest that they try it on this shoulder, that
(01:41:13):
it really People say they want to eat on it, well,
deep beats will do it, and it'll do it a
lot better than just top water or something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:41:24):
And I'm sure most people probably would have tried that.
Would that be right?
Speaker 10 (01:41:27):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:41:29):
Okay, wasn't that long a story Graham of yours?
Speaker 11 (01:41:32):
Well, I'm in my nineties and lived by myself, so
it was a great concern.
Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
But yeah, I know a lot of people that have
been at the freezing works get carpal tunnel. A lot
of people I know that work there have had that
operation for it is that where your people where they've
got it from?
Speaker 11 (01:41:52):
No one lessened the freezing works. Both my family that
have been farming and.
Speaker 3 (01:42:03):
Yeah, what do where you get capital tunnel from farming?
Speaker 25 (01:42:06):
Oh?
Speaker 11 (01:42:06):
Well easy us your hands and arms with a lot
done to you. It's some more than the average person.
Speaker 3 (01:42:13):
Yeah, that's my experience, Graham. Thank you for that. There
we go, just coming up to the latest news bulletin. People,
and if you want to be a part of the
discussion on air, that's that we're talking about frozen shoulders
or the devil's shoulder as we call it to it.
De France seems to be on. Get in touch if
you want to talk after the news. Anything goes oh
(01:42:35):
eight hundred and eighty ten eighty pretty bad. The English
footballer that broke their wrist in celebration jumped over the hoarding.
That wasn't good. You had to get stretched off getting
ready to sing wonder wall Boy. They're happy, though, aren't
they English? It's hard to see English people so happy.
If you want to talk about these things or anything else,
that's the plan. It's all about your frozen shoulders. We'll
(01:42:57):
talk about that tool well and ovens. It took us
a while to get the topic going tonight, didn't it.
We got there in the end, Thanks Craig. We are
discussing frosen shoulders. I beheadled twelve. A Roman will be
along at midnight tonight. If you're to talk today, Spencer
of evening, it's Marcus, welcome.
Speaker 24 (01:43:17):
Good evening, How are you good?
Speaker 3 (01:43:18):
Thank you? Thanks hanging on there too.
Speaker 24 (01:43:19):
By the way, that's all right. I'm just driving down
to Wellington at the moment, and I flicked over to
listen to a bit of girl Marcus Slush and I
heard the conversation frozen shoulder. I've literally just been going
through this myself. I started a few months ago, and
typical mail, I just sort of left it alone and
it got worse and worse and got my sleeping was
(01:43:41):
getting worse because it's particularly bad at night. So I
finally went to the doctor about a month ago. He
sent me for an X ray. Nothing was showing on that,
and then a couple of weeks later went for a
ultrasound and that's where they found in there that I
had first sitis and frozen shoulder. So I've just been
on Friday and under ultrasound again, had the injection with
(01:44:06):
cortizone in it, and yeah, huge difference straight away, unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
And what's the progosis that the courtizone will wear off?
Speaker 24 (01:44:16):
Yeah, yeah, so it's not a permanent thing.
Speaker 13 (01:44:19):
She told me.
Speaker 24 (01:44:21):
I don't know how long it'll last. I don't think
they sort of put a time limit on that. But
I've sort of been taking you know, celebricks and things
to help with the I guess the swelling or anti
inflammatory side, and I'm still taking it. Actually didn't take
any to day just to see what it would feel like.
(01:44:41):
There's I would have to say, still maybe a little
bit of pain in there. But they said that that
could last for seventy ten days.
Speaker 13 (01:44:49):
Cause I don't know.
Speaker 24 (01:44:52):
I thought it was playing golf or something like that,
like it was a sports related injury. And I also
wonder if you hear about people with rotator cuff injuries
and things like that, so you know, wasn't sure whether
it was around there, but it sounds like, you know,
maybe this was more goost sighters than it was frozen shoulder.
(01:45:15):
But definitely that lifting and turning and certain movements unbelievably sore.
Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
It's amazing that these yeah, yeah, and that's what everyone said,
that really really saw.
Speaker 24 (01:45:30):
Yeah, and in nighttime, like they always talked about nighttime
for whatever reason being bad as well. But the other reason,
sorry from my care was I'm driving to Wellington at
the moment, getting on the ferry and heading south, and
I keep hearing everything you're saying about the weather and
the roads, and I'm thinking, hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:45:48):
We we're heading for Spencer.
Speaker 24 (01:45:52):
So I'll get off at six am and head down
to christ Church.
Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
So christ Us your final destination?
Speaker 2 (01:45:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
What times? What times your fairy? What times your ferry crossing?
Speaker 4 (01:46:07):
Two? Are you?
Speaker 23 (01:46:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
I look there's really heavy rain.
Speaker 24 (01:46:15):
Yeah, hopefully it's not too bad.
Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
I'll just you have a quick check on the roads.
But is it raining in the fight out of the
North London?
Speaker 9 (01:46:26):
Are you?
Speaker 24 (01:46:29):
I'm just coming and it's not raining here at the moment.
Speaker 3 (01:46:32):
But it has been raining, so you just came out
of it. You're just were.
Speaker 24 (01:46:37):
Just coming through Leban Okay, between Levin.
Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
And taking straight how we won to christ Chich seems fine.
So there's no drums. Yeah, don't touch. Thanks Spencer eleven
past eleven eleven living. My name is Marcus. Welcome discussing
frozen shoulders rain for the last two hours straight, medium,
(01:47:01):
heavy and tie area. Michael Rowdy. Check out alter Heat.
It's a new product. I had frozen shoulder treatment involving
as steroid injection. Unfortunately the steroid was faulty, led to
shold of sepsis and sera sturgery in months of a
wound that'd be kept open with long term antibiotics. Steroid
treatment may be good, but be very careful who and
(01:47:22):
how it's administered. Marcus. I saw the Aussies incoming military
chief saying they were delusional if they thought they were
ready to get involved in any major conflict. Our data
equipment and lack of resources size it as the reason
China has the largest military in the world with over
two million soldiers, and interestingly, India has the second largest.
So we don't stand a chance if they want to
(01:47:44):
roll in and take over. But it's the way they
roll is it? So they can do it financially inspy
of all the businesses. That would be my take. You
don't need to invade much these days for takeover the
way of the world's finance. Get in touched by him
as Marcus Welcome at shoulders and ovens. That's what we've got. Yeah,
(01:48:05):
so get in touch. You want to be on e
eight ten eighty nine nine two. The text mark is
till twelve. Anything else you want to bang on about
tonight would love to hear from you. Feel free to
get involved. The bit of weather and oven cleaning. Sally's
jail is what I'm going to try. I'll report back
on that, although I'm not cash for comment. Apart from
that bit of fish I got so you always get
(01:48:27):
a fair appraisal for me because I'm no one's dancing pony.
But I think it's jail would be much better than
a spray for another, and I'm happy about that. You
want to talk at the footballer also because as Techa Stadium,
I think the Mexicans have played there eighty nine times
only lost twice. Marc so who do you tell a
caller that the pict into christ Church Road will be clear?
Speaker 16 (01:48:48):
And I'm not.
Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
I told him clear, not clear of rain. Just read
on stuff. There's a red warning for cake colored the
last forty hours. I do hope the young man travels
through and off the fery safely. You're the roads open,
is what I'm saying. People still need to get where
they need to go. Is a bit mysterious about where
he was going. I'll bring the lattest deats if I
can find them. The Devil's shoulder we call it. There's
(01:49:09):
no updates from stuff, Richard. It's Marcus.
Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
Welcome, Hey, interesting show. Thanks what. I've had two shoulder
operations on my left and one on the right, and
I'm listening to all these these people who have had
successful like injections to keep their movement up, and I've
had two years ago. I linked tai chi and I
used to do it. I do it every day for
(01:49:32):
twenty five years, and then I started backing off doing it,
and five years of not doing it, and then I
couldn't reach for a can of beans in the in
the cupboard one day, and I thought what about it?
And so I started doing the tie chee again, and
it's daily. It takes like forty five minutes every morning,
but at works.
Speaker 3 (01:49:49):
But my shoulders back sounds so boring.
Speaker 2 (01:49:53):
It's just a pretty good, pretty good thing.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
Not only you put your arms out, and I've seen
people do it. You put your arm out and twist
it over and put it back in until calm, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
It's real, real slow. I mean you can, you can
do it far as you like, but it's a slow
it's a slow physical exercise. And I've originally learned it
for relaxation then learned about the other so the other
side of it.
Speaker 3 (01:50:19):
But yeah, you do the same thing every day, don't
you pretty much?
Speaker 9 (01:50:24):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
You warm up and your massage, your message itself, your head.
There's a few other things you do, and you do
warm stretches and make sure you you fully fully stretched
out before you do the form. But the form actually
exercises every ligament, every muscle of your body and within
(01:50:46):
doing it doing it for I had my movement back
in six months. To keep the movement, I've got to
keep doing exercise.
Speaker 17 (01:50:54):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
I'm nearly sixty years old, so you know, obviously the
body you've got it got its age thing happening. But
but and again it's a daily the daily fix. I
kind of listening to these people who have successfully had
had a shot of blood and a shot of water
and your shoulder, and which is it. I'm wondering if
(01:51:16):
I shouldn't try that, and then I can give up
this thing forty five minutes the day or ourday, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:51:22):
You see, so you quite enjoy it, they're Richard, Oh, it's.
Speaker 2 (01:51:25):
Good, really good. And more recently I've kind of straightened
my act up, and I found that I read this
thing on a line about sleeping. If you take not
don't take one magnesium pill, you take three of them,
and most of us haven't gone enough millennium in our
bloodstream as it was well, what's it called millennium?
Speaker 15 (01:51:46):
Selenium, millennium activate magnesium and phosphorus and all the calciums
and all the minerals in your body that help it along,
and magnesium especially.
Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
I was out like a light when I read this thing.
It was only it was only a couple of months back.
You don't take one magnesium pill, you take three in
the morning, brilliant night. The first day I tried it, like.
Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
A low do you teach yourself tie cheers on YouTube?
Speaker 21 (01:52:12):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
I learned it over in Australia through basically a master,
And then when I came back to New Zealand, there
was this guy in Phillipstown, Lucie who he passed away.
He passed away while back and yeah, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:52:29):
So you don't did I get belts or anything?
Speaker 13 (01:52:32):
You just do?
Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
And I standing there in the park.
Speaker 2 (01:52:35):
No, he's no belt. There's no belt. And the thing
is I didn't realize it. I didn't realize it's martial abilities.
And both of my masters were fairly staunched about don't
don't go out and try this. You know, I don't
fight with it, but as someone tries to fight you,
this is my experience. If someone tried to fight me,
they had I didn't.
Speaker 9 (01:52:54):
Have much of it.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
Does it give your strength?
Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
So every if you if you do an exercise every day,
it forms of biochemical pathway in your brain. Even though
you're doing this slow movement, it forms a pathway in
your brain that allows allows the movement to be very fast.
It needs to be.
Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
Did you give somebody did you give some of the
odd one too?
Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (01:53:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
The first time it happened to me. I was jaw dropped.
Someone came to attack me and I pushed them because
during the form of Tai cheeses, you push a dozen
times and there's one hundred and eight moves in the
form and maybe eight.
Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
This report was for the pub or something.
Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
Yeah, yeah, and the guys coming. There's a book brawl
and I'm not really fine, you know, I don't really
do the market's a queens everything. But something guy came
over to me and I thought, all right, then I'll
push him. I'll push him, expecting him to go two meters,
you know, meet back and if he comes back, I'll do.
The markets a queensory thing. Because everyone was brawling, you know,
just being idiots like that, and I pushed and the
guy threw across the room was founders.
Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
Did he come to get you with a chair.
Speaker 2 (01:54:06):
Because he went down and he looked that looked over
the other side of the room.
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Walk away, cheap, Chief Richard, thank you for that. Goodness, Shade,
it's Marcus. Good evening.
Speaker 28 (01:54:17):
Okay, Marcus, how are you good?
Speaker 3 (01:54:18):
Shame thank you.
Speaker 5 (01:54:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 28 (01:54:19):
I've got a shoulder injury which I've been diagnosed as
calcific indmosophy enosopy, which is when I back in twenty one,
I hurt my shoulder and apparently the way the body works,
it emits calcium sometimes into the injured part of the shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:54:40):
Oh it's understandable, yep.
Speaker 28 (01:54:42):
Yeah, And that calcium hardens over time and it rubs
on the muscle, the muscle itself and causes a severe
amount of pain, you know, even a nighttime, you know,
rolling over just constantly throbs. So I've had the carterzone
injection in it that lasted probably a couple of months.
(01:55:04):
So I've been back to my GP since it's got
a appointment with a shoulder specialist, a surgeon where sometimes
they can go in and suck the calcium out of it.
So yeah, that's something I'm looking to. Well, I've seen
the surgeon at the end of the month and see
(01:55:25):
what he says. Sometimes they offer another called his own injection.
But I mean they only last so long, you know,
nine times out of ten, it doesn't really fix the problem.
To just delay it. And I do a lot of swimming,
so it's incredibly sore to be able to get in
the pool and swim with that rotation.
Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
Swimming didn't cause it, No, swimming.
Speaker 28 (01:55:47):
Didn't cause it. Back in twenty one, I was working
for Higher Pool and I was delivering portalius and a
portaloo went. I was pulling it off the truck and
it fell and I tried to stop it from falling,
which caused But I thought back then was a rotator
tous tear, but turned out this particular type of injury.
(01:56:10):
But I thought swimming, you know, with I've basically got
to take antium from as you's like the last guy
to said the celebrics and Braminole to be able to
get in.
Speaker 18 (01:56:20):
The pool to swim.
Speaker 28 (01:56:21):
So hopefully at the end of the month sort of
thing I find out whether or not they will. I
think they call it a levage where they go in
with keyhole surgery and they try and suck the kelsium
out of the injured part of the shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:56:39):
Is it just is it just a couple of hours?
It was an overnight thing.
Speaker 28 (01:56:43):
I would think it maybe a couple of hours. I
haven't actually spoke to the surgeon yet, so I don't
know what's involved in Gpparently only twenty five percent of
people ever get alviously them sucked out, So whether it's
bad enough to get that or whether he offers me
some other type of way of fixing it. They're just
(01:57:07):
constantly throbs.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
You know, I can't sound horrible.
Speaker 28 (01:57:10):
I can't lift my arm above my above my head
to get anything down. It constantly just throbs at nighttime
like now I'm lying in bed and it's just throbbing.
And only last week I got out of the pool
and slipped, slipped on the top of the ladder on
the pool and strained it again. So with a lot,
(01:57:31):
it's put more stuff and that I've I guess the
suit will possibly send me for an MRI and look
at it from that point of view. I've had X
rays done and it does show. I've got the X
rays and I've seen it myself. It does show like
a line of calcium in the muscle. It just just
(01:57:53):
grows up as white, a white line.
Speaker 3 (01:57:56):
Nice to hear, show keeping touching. Good luck with that.
I hope you get some relief. It sounds horribly because
of up at night, because you can't sink the throbbing shoulder.
So yeah, I'm hearing you, Matthew. This is Marcus.
Speaker 19 (01:58:05):
Good evening, Yeah, good evening, Marcus.
Speaker 6 (01:58:10):
You're you're talking about cooking ovens ovens cooking and the
best way to clean them. Yeah, well, I tend to.
I've got a conventional oven, like, for example, of order
to do a chicken roast, a pork roast, It's spits
(01:58:31):
and it splatters everywhere, and then it takes a whole
lot of time the second day just to clean the oven,
to prepare it to get ready for the next meal.
Speaker 13 (01:58:41):
Well, I'm young.
Speaker 6 (01:58:43):
I'm just saying that having an air fryer. Actually, I've
got two air fries in case I want to cook
chips or separately cook a chicken, but I don't have
the how do you say, extreme amount of clean up
of dishes that we used to do in the olden days.
(01:59:05):
There was too many dishes. It was kind of like
when families are doing dishes together. Nobody enjoyed it. And
the beautiful thing about the air fry is that I
can cook something in the air fry basically rinse it
out with hot water. I don't need detergents, I don't
(01:59:28):
need sunlight, soap, I don't need any of that. And
I've got two beautiful air fryers, and I just rinse
them out of hot water and stick them back in
the capsule where they belong, and they're ready to do
the next cooking. Because the amounts of cooking that people
(01:59:49):
used to do in the old days with a conventional oven,
because they felt like it needed to be cleaned all
the time. It was rejectless. It was that it was
taking up our fun social time of light. Thank God
for the ear fryer and.
Speaker 3 (02:00:09):
The I'm going to just chip in a bit here
because you heard of it of a go, I reckon
the oven bag would be good for you.
Speaker 8 (02:00:16):
Well, I tell the bag because people.
Speaker 3 (02:00:19):
Loved an oven bag to keep the oven clean. Everything
would be in the oven bag.
Speaker 19 (02:00:23):
Yees, yeah, I know, I know.
Speaker 6 (02:00:25):
But the oven bad made food.
Speaker 3 (02:00:28):
You know, once you became I mean, you never hear
about people to like the oven bag anymore. It's been
years since have an oven bag conversation.
Speaker 6 (02:00:36):
Yeah, well, no, you're right there. But it did made
food soggy. There was no crispy skin on it, chicken.
Speaker 3 (02:00:44):
I don't know if it did make stuff. So I
thought the oven bag was all.
Speaker 6 (02:00:46):
Right, not soggy food soggy, soggy soggy.
Speaker 3 (02:00:54):
I disagree, but well maybe someone else. You seem quite
strong world about this, but I just thought that the oven,
that the bag was all right.
Speaker 6 (02:01:02):
No soggy fruit, sad chicken, might as well going to
and spend five dollars of quality.
Speaker 3 (02:01:10):
Okay, appreciate you honestly, Mith you thank you. How about
eleven exactly? Saw shoulders, saw shoulders and tai chi is
remarkably effective. There's an excellent course on da me by
doctor Yong Jwing Ming Part one and two. I learned
tai chi for about fifteen years, was a younger from
(02:01:31):
a Chinese master. But Alfric cent to bexitge your last year,
I'm now relearning. You have to find a good teacher.
I teach yourself, wouldn't you Ai, Marcus, great show due
to evils, Devil's elbow and all your listens elements do
suggest they'll try reflexology miracle cure. Could you clean your
oven with tai chi? There'd be the thing twenty three
to twelve, Barbara, it's Marcus. Good evening, Oh good evening.
Speaker 27 (02:01:53):
You're asking about an oven cleaner. Now, I've got a
friend that put me onto this oven clean It's called
power Cleaner. You get it from the supermarket. It's in
a yellow box and it comes with all the directions
and it's amazing.
Speaker 3 (02:02:10):
Tell me more about it, you had me with comes
in a box.
Speaker 27 (02:02:14):
It comes in a box, and there's a packet of
liquid and there's a big plastic bag. And what you
do You take your racks out and your oven trays,
put it in and leave it overnight.
Speaker 12 (02:02:24):
I can't.
Speaker 27 (02:02:26):
And then what you do with the rest of it?
You paint it on the oven for about forty minutes
and then on the glass door for forty seconds. And
it is amazing.
Speaker 3 (02:02:37):
Have you got to go wear gloves and things and
spray it off the gloves.
Speaker 5 (02:02:40):
Come with it?
Speaker 27 (02:02:41):
No, Yeah, it comes and it comes with a big
blue bag, blue gloves and yeah, and I get there
on my hands and therese with a starellow pad and
it just comes off like like a cake mixture. And
it's called oven Power and it's in a yellow box
and you get it from Countdown or New World. And
(02:03:03):
I think it's about twelve to thirteen dollars. It could
be a wee bit cheaper than that, but round about.
Speaker 3 (02:03:09):
It sounds like it's a fitty new thing, is it.
Speaker 29 (02:03:11):
No?
Speaker 27 (02:03:11):
Well, my friend she's been using it for years and
I've been using.
Speaker 12 (02:03:16):
It for years.
Speaker 3 (02:03:18):
Never heard of it.
Speaker 27 (02:03:19):
It's called oven power.
Speaker 3 (02:03:21):
That's what will they think of next?
Speaker 27 (02:03:24):
Well, my friend told me. She lives up in New
Plumber and my friend told me about it, and that's
all I buy now when I want to clean my oven.
Speaker 3 (02:03:34):
Okay, well it's excellent, Barbara, thank you for that. Twenty
to twelve. James, it's Marcus. Good evening him.
Speaker 29 (02:03:40):
Marcus. Yeah, sorry to derail the discussion a little bit.
Speaker 3 (02:03:45):
I'm always happy for a derailment.
Speaker 29 (02:03:49):
I was at that public meeting, that New Zealand first
public meeting that Winston did on Sunday, which was one
of the most interesting experiences of my entire life.
Speaker 3 (02:04:03):
Now, where about this?
Speaker 7 (02:04:05):
That was in walkwork Okay.
Speaker 3 (02:04:08):
Yeah, when did you say it was?
Speaker 29 (02:04:12):
It was on Sunday, Yeah, two o'clock, two pm. And yeah,
for a young top member like myself, it was just
a fascinating case of just groupthink. All the people that
went there just completely agreed with each other. There was
(02:04:36):
very little dissenting opinions. And I found it interesting how
he just left. He just absolutely ran out to his
motorcade very quickly after finishing his speech, didn't allow any questions.
Speaker 3 (02:04:50):
Or because why do you think that was.
Speaker 29 (02:04:56):
I think it was because he knew that there was
some people in the audience who might have challenged him,
or because he did do a new policy announcement and
it just felt a little bit off knowing that he
did that and what was supposed to be a public
meeting and then just yeah, just dashed, just went off
(02:05:20):
without accountability. So I just wanted to get that off
my chest.
Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
Is that while you were there.
Speaker 29 (02:05:30):
Yeah, I was there to ask questions and because I've
been quite unhappy with some of the discourse that's come
out from New Zealand.
Speaker 4 (02:05:43):
First, So.
Speaker 29 (02:05:45):
That's what I thought the public meeting was supposed to be.
But apparently it was just forty minutes of Winston talking
about Winston.
Speaker 3 (02:05:54):
Well, to be fair, he's all they've gotten. That's what
they want to see. I don't think he wants to
see Lawsy talk.
Speaker 29 (02:06:00):
Yeah, well that the party is Winston. I just I
thought it was very one sided and I wouldn't like
to see them in power again.
Speaker 3 (02:06:12):
And the party is Winston. After Winston, you know, who
knows what happens, But I can't see anything happening.
Speaker 11 (02:06:18):
No.
Speaker 29 (02:06:18):
Well, Shane Jones. Shane Jones is kind of only popular
because Winston made him popular.
Speaker 3 (02:06:27):
Well, and I think and I know they keep hammering it,
but the situation with his spending overseas. But you know,
you go on about people in the trough and stuff
like that. You can't be a hypocrite in politics because
people don't forgive you.
Speaker 10 (02:06:43):
No.
Speaker 29 (02:06:43):
No, I feel like he's been a hypocrite for thirty
three years though.
Speaker 3 (02:06:49):
Well, it's like the end. It's like the Andrew, the
Andrew Events Advance column about you know, all these people
that say they're going to they're going to fight fight
government spending when actually it's been governant spending which has
been their entire income for all their life. You know,
it's when you think of it like that, it does
seem it seems unbelievable that you could go on about.
Speaker 29 (02:07:07):
Yeah, it seems very trumpy and yeah, almost.
Speaker 3 (02:07:14):
I suppose there was a good crowd, maybe one.
Speaker 29 (02:07:17):
Hundred hundred people. Yeah, well it was quite a small venue,
so it looked like a lot. But yeah, very interesting experience.
Speaker 3 (02:07:31):
I see that. Are you Are you a member of
the Opportunity Party.
Speaker 29 (02:07:36):
Yes, yeah, I'm a member and a volunteer, so yeah,
caught up with a Green Party member there as well.
There was about six of us who were really wanting
to and you know, he made a whole bunch of
unfounded comments about the Greens and about top and about
(02:07:58):
one News who were there. One News had a camera
crew there and just pointing over to them and almost
like borderline abuse.
Speaker 3 (02:08:08):
But the Opportunity Party is not going to get votes
on the New Zealand First voters are they No, they're not.
Speaker 29 (02:08:13):
But it's still it's I would rather the debate and
the discourse be based on fact and not about not
on fares and culture wars and all of that. And
I just felt like it was a little bit of that. Yeah,
a little bit sad.
Speaker 3 (02:08:30):
Nice dear James, thanks so much. Sixteen to twelve someone
said that the girlfriend is to give you the cold Childer.
Fair enough, Marcus. Marc has been burreling here all day
in Blenheim. At around five pm there was a demolished
sign on Nelson Street which is too dangerous to retrieve.
Wind does not really die down and we have been
sand blast. Hey, thanks Andy for coming through with that.
I'm looking for reports for people. It's been slightly I'm
(02:08:53):
not in the sense of how bad the weather is.
The weather interned and over the weekend was unbelievable. Marc's
I think the new version of the childhood song should
be head shoulders and knees hips elbows, knees hips elbows,
head's elbows. The pain of an active life worker, otherwise
is real. Over forty, keep moving is a good thing.
Lubricating your joints another running gear, becomes more important. I
(02:09:14):
heard from an impressively spry and incredibly cognitive the eighty
six year old last up that you should keep You
should swap your potatoes for kumuda, and your joints will
thank you. Yes, there are people that very much opposed
to the saline in factory potatoes and tomatoes. I think
for joints, it's not something I subscribe to. But I'm
not a I'm not don't portray myself as a the
(02:09:35):
guru of the I'm on into that stuff. What I'm
not into, you know, I'm not trying to tell people
how to live their life. Just do what you've got
to do. Do what you've got to do. Karl, it's Chris,
it's Chris, it's Marcus.
Speaker 21 (02:09:46):
Good evening, Oh good evening, Marcus. I love with my
own daily pain. But I'm not ringing about that. Listening
to all the stories tonight on people in pain, I'm
really really annoyed with David Seymour's an X proposal to
get sick an injured people to see any mes the
doctor to make the decision on whether they receive a benefit.
(02:10:11):
So I'm speaking on behalf of all those suck and injured.
I do realize we have an escalating number of people
on second injured in this country. That's another reason as
to why. But really it's almost as if he doesn't
trust the GP to make that decision, and that I
find fit. I was the GP who's made a decision
(02:10:34):
who have his patients, and he's assessed that patient has
not fit for work. I find the fact that he
doesn't want I mean, you have a relationship with your GP,
and that could.
Speaker 3 (02:10:47):
Be as doctors, he said, is it right?
Speaker 22 (02:10:52):
Yeah, an MSD doctor.
Speaker 3 (02:10:55):
They've got enough of them.
Speaker 21 (02:10:57):
Well that's another issue too, But I mean you think
of your GP that knows you well and knows your condition,
and then suddenly you see an MSD doctor to decide
who's sick enough.
Speaker 3 (02:11:08):
I kind of find I ever think that the GP
that knows you will is still a thing. I think
that there's so much, certainly down south, there is so
much upheaval in GP practices. They're going to tell you.
I don't think anyone's I think for anyone to have
their same GP for any more than six months these
days would be a complete rarity.
Speaker 21 (02:11:27):
I agree, it's quite unusual, but I and.
Speaker 3 (02:11:30):
It's destabilizing to it's a bad thing because if you
can't get that repeat, your people won't know you and
all sorts of stuff.
Speaker 21 (02:11:35):
Yeah, well, I just think it could be quite traumatic
for the injured person that's already going through stuff.
Speaker 20 (02:11:40):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:11:41):
Isn't the sense though, that people got to look at
David see Moore and they're not really into act party.
I mean, I mean that it's not like there's been
a great let's look at them in power and watch
what they'll do and their votes will go up?
Speaker 19 (02:11:53):
What are they?
Speaker 3 (02:11:54):
What are they six or seven percent?
Speaker 12 (02:11:57):
What was that? Sorry?
Speaker 3 (02:11:58):
It's six or seven percent? Aren't they? Well?
Speaker 21 (02:12:00):
Ye's somewhere around that. But I mean I realized there's
a lot of sick and injured people around. I see
so many people on frames and sticks and hobbling around,
waiting on hip and knees. And then tonight's conversation has
been really interesting about frozen shoulders. You know, it just
made me think of all those people.
Speaker 3 (02:12:21):
Over the weekend thinking because funnily enough, on Friday we're
talking about the hip surgery and so there's so many
people having four or five hips and I don't know
what to cause the cause the prevalence of that, but man,
a man, that must take a huge toll on the
health as hips just got a.
Speaker 21 (02:12:37):
Friend who's had it done. But I think people have
been waiting till they're quite severe.
Speaker 3 (02:12:41):
And they have they have.
Speaker 21 (02:12:45):
Yeah, so there's something in this country at the moment
that's not good with all the sick and injured people,
and you know, it's really sad, and there's not enough
GPS of course, you know.
Speaker 3 (02:12:58):
So that changes completely down south. It's not good down
in South and the GPS eight away from twelve. Thank
you for that, Chris. Harriet's Marcus living and welcome.
Speaker 30 (02:13:07):
Yeah, good in me, Marcus.
Speaker 18 (02:13:09):
Couple of things.
Speaker 30 (02:13:10):
I was at a meeting with mister Luxeon on Saturday afternoon,
and after his speech and his questions, I happened to
ask a question on the disability community. As soon as
the meeting was over, he made a beeline straight off
the platform to me and my group of folks from
the disability community. And there was about four hundred and
(02:13:32):
fifty odd people there. But he spent ten minutes talking
to us on the disability situation, and he didn't get
a chance to run anywhere. And I mean, I don't
agree with the men's politics or the way they're doing
things for the disabled community at all, but you've got
to give the main credit for fronting up to us
(02:13:53):
right in the middle of that meeting, and that, I mean,
that says a lot for the guy. I'm not into
bagging people, I might bag their politics.
Speaker 3 (02:14:04):
Well, was he across your concerns? Oh, well, you had
specific concerns, did you.
Speaker 30 (02:14:11):
Yeah, yeah, I have specific concerns about the DSS bill
that's being pressed through and the way that it's being
pressed through without full consultation. And the people that are
making submissions to the committee, you know, they're being pressed.
They've only got five minutes and they're not getting a
(02:14:34):
chance to really bring their story home and why they
don't want this bill, and so it's quite a challenge.
And he was right across from and he spent nearly
two minutes with half a dozen.
Speaker 7 (02:14:47):
Of us, and we didn't get it.
Speaker 30 (02:14:50):
Yeah, we didn't get the answer we wanted. But mister Seymour,
here's what we thought. Any good at maths, here we go.
We've got one hundred and seven thousand people thereabouts on
the sickness benefit and he wants them all tested. Now,
I'm going to be very very kind here and say
(02:15:10):
that he's been able to contract a group of doctors
across the country and it's going to cost about one
hundred dollars for each patient. Do you know how much
that amounts to ten point seven million dollars? Now, that's
been generous on one side, because you.
Speaker 3 (02:15:32):
Better go, Harry, But thanks for cool. We're out of time.
Speaker 21 (02:15:34):
Have a good one.
Speaker 1 (02:15:36):
