you head into that second week of those two weeks
in the middle of the year and there's not much

heard the death of Sam Neil that was announced about
quarter to two six tonight and there's been an outpouring

of emotion, shock and just people talking about how he
has impacted on their lives, both that I have seen
on social media obviously two games through sport. We haven't
had time on this show to do that. So if
that is something that I feel probably you will want
to do tonight, then that is the plan for the
beginning of the show. It was just announced on the radio.

As I was coming into town tonight. I was trying
to explain to the kids to about Jurassic Park, but
very mindful of me was probably the earlier movies and
maybe some of the movies that want when the big
movies of his. The one I remember particularly fondly was
Deathan Brunswick, which is kind of a nice gentle line
and I don't remember too much about it. It was a

to actually affect the supply lines. But that's the situation.
That's what's happening. Apparently. I take that on face value
and I that seems to be legitimate. But looking for

they've always got litters of kittens that they've kind of

light that is feral cats, and I think there's been
great work done with the raising of the publicity of
the issue. But you have got to be mindful too
that people love their cats and you can't kind of

They spread a disease called neospora makes the cows have
brought their calves during the pregnancy stage. Marcus impending rise
and diesel is partly due to the damage that Ukraine
has inflicted on Russia. Russia now has a fuel crisis
and has stopped it just distributing diesel to other countries,
creating a very high demand for diesel from other sources.

I didn't read that. If anyone knows him more about that,
that's of interest to me. I thought we'd stop buying
diesel from there. But yes, Jumping, if you want to

what they are reporting. It seems as though it's credible

him once when I was a young cadet, very first year,
my first year teaching scheme in Queenstown and it was
nineteen ninety and I was a rookie ski instructor and
I had a beginner's class. I think it was my

second week teaching scheme ever. And it was something I
ended up doing for a number of years. But anyway,
at the end of the startupick with his kids, this
guy comes up very nice and comes up and says, oh,
I look, I'm pretty keen for my son to have
some private lessons and I look at the guy and
I go that damn Neil, and I go oh, of
course I didn't say hey, and he goes, yeah, can you. Yeah,

I'm pretty keen for these private lessons. And I was
literally in my second week, and I actually said, look,
to be all honest, I'm brand new, I'm still a
university student, and I'm here part time. I'll recommend someone else.
And when I recommended a very experienced German skids structor
had been there for a long time. She ended up
teaching Sam's child that winter. Got to know him quite well.

But in the probably ten minutes I spoke to him,
I just thought, what a what a lovely, unassuming guy,
and I obviously knew he was The other short story
from him. I don't know if you're aware of this,
but he was working for the New Zealand Film Unit
in the seventies as well, and he got some money.
He managed to coerce the money out of the New
Zealand tourism at the time and the film Unit to

make a documentary called Flair, where he got to follow
a bunch of Freesko skiers all around New Zealand where

lung has died after the nineteen forties era machine keeping
you alive began to break down and was too old
to repair. Martha and Lillard was seventy eight died on
June twenty sixth. Even spent more than seventy years relying
on the device. She's diagnosed with poly on her fifth

birthday nineteen fifty three, and could still record the moment
she fell sick. Upon her death, I woke up. It
was sudden outside. I started to sit up and my
neck was killing me. I couldn't make my head off
the pillow. Four days later, she felt unconscious, was able
to breathe or move until the iron lung effectively saved
her life. They usually didn't like to put children because
they thought it, but I didn't. Iron lungs are air

tight metal tanks which generate negative pressure forced patients lung
to expand. She was able to live relatively normal life
until recently, but everything changed when she contracted COVID twice
as well as shingles. Her life saving iron lung started
