Paul Stenhouse: 1Password plugin for Claude, Apple overtakes Nvidia as most valuable company in the world

Germany's media regulator says Google is a publisher  

It's a real twist to longstanding convention. If it's generating AI summaries, then it's creating content, and that makes it a publisher, and with that comes all the liability of being a publisher too.  

In the USA, search engines and platforms get immunity if they are hosting other people's content. Facebook isn't in control of what people post. Google is just showing search results. Well, that is until now. And if they're showing that AI generated output front and centre on search, then they need to be responsible for its accuracy. Google plans to appeal. They said in a statement that AI summaries enhance the search experience – “They help users discover new content and ⁠ask follow-up questions."  
  

Your AI agent can now use your passwords... securely  

1Password has a new plugin for Claude which allows the AI agent to login as you more easily. It’s purpose built so that the data is never saved to Claude's memory or exposed to the model. After autofill, 1Password even does a double check that nothing was copied. It's just one of the new products they're building to make handing over your access to an agent more seamless but also secure. For example, when an agent takes control of your browser, the 1Password autofill extension is disabled.   

And which is the most valuable company in the world...?  

That changed today (but will it stay that way by close?) – Apple overtaking Nvidia, topping out at $4.9 trillion dollars.

I know it's tricky, isn't it, Because if they have
your password, they have access to a lot of things
and a lot of services. Don't know the difference between
an AI agent of Jack and Jack Tame, do they?
So I don't know how that works with all of
the liability. Like you know, if Jack Tame's agent accidentally
sends the Boss an email, it comes from Jack Tame's

actual email address, So you do to be very careful
about that stuff. But no, look, people are certainly starting
to get agents to do more and more for them,
and with that means they need access, and so you
want to make sure you're doing it securely. And one password,
and we've talked a lot about one password. I think
we're both big one password fans. One password has a

new plugin allows Claude to basically get access to your account,
but only for only for the ability to do the
task that you've asked it to do. And they've done
some really kind of sticky little things there, Like they
they check even after they've done the auto fill thing
with the with the agent, that it hasn't saved any

of it anywhere. So they are actually trying to check.
But ultimately in the end it is passing. It is
passing the password from one password over to the agent,
but it never goes anywhere near it's memory, right, It
just stays in its transaction.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, well, okay, yeah, so it's.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
It's it's doing some nice stuff. And look, they've got
a big problem to solve those guys, because you know,
it's only going to become more and more prevalent that
we're going to want to share access with these agents,
and we're going to want to make sure that our
password doesn't end up in the wrong person's hands or
the wrong agent's hands, a bad agent.

True. Okay, Yeah, that's interesting. I mean, it's kind of
inevitable a that that each of these kind of programs
and things are slowly going to get access to these
AIA agents as they become more reliable. Hey, you've got
a bit of an update for us. I feel like
you could change this most weeks when it comes to
the most valuable company in the world.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Wow, it's interesting, isn't it. It hasn't actually officially changed because
so yes, So in Vidia is the world's most valuable
company today. Their years took a little bit of a tumble.
Apple's didn't take quite as much of a tumble. So
Apple overtook in VideA for just part of the day

to become right the world's most valuable company.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Idiot maker, So they make the ship maker.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yeah, they make the AI chips, but they came up
on the inside, Jack towards the clothes and overtook Apple again.
So they are still now the world's most valuable company.
Apple tell prettier number two. Yeah, yeah, I.
