How do you get around LA's terrible traffic? From the sky.
It'll only be worse for the Olympics, so Archer will be the "official air taxi provider" for the LA28 Games. These look like a small plane, rather than a helicopter, and have a fixed wing with propellers on it that tilt. That means it can take off and land vertically like a helicopter and then transition into forward flight like a plane.
These are all electric piloted air taxis, designed to carry up to four passengers and their luggage. The goal is to have these up and running by 2026, then expand the "LA Network" to include the key Olympic sites and transport hubs for the 2028 games. VIPs, athletes, and spectators will be able to take the flights, and they'll provide support for security teams too.
They say they will be able to replace one-to-two-hour drives with 10–20 minute electric flights that are 100x quieter than a helicopter.
TikTok wants kids to sleep
It's so easy to get stuck in a TikTok hole – where does the time go?! Now, after 10pm, kids under 18 will get a reminder that they've been scrolling and even get prompted to take some guided meditation with relaxing music. If you're over 18, you'll be able to toggle it on too - you can select “Sleep Hours” from the Screen Time settings.
OpenAI is looking to buy a software coding tool for $3 billion
The ChatGPT maker has unveiled a dedicated coding assistant called Codex which is included in the $200 a month plan. Clearly it thinks there is a future for these kinds of tools because it's looking at purchasing a company already offering that service, Windsurf, for $3 billion. Programmers are rapidly embracing AI.

Los Angeles. It is only going to be worse when
it comes to traffic and trying to get around the
city come the Olympic Games. But LA has just announced
an official air taxi provider for the twenty twenty eight Games. Paul,

This might be the closest we get to my Jetson's
fantasy of flying cars. Maybe it's a little you can't
just go where you want to go? Okay, So here's
how it's going to work. They have a company called
Archer who is going through the process at the moment
to get their electric piloted ear taxis certified by the FAA. Okay,

So these things are designed to carry the pilot as
well as up to four passengers and their luggage. And
they're going to have this network they're calling at which
will be like site to site. So it kind of
looks more like a plane because it has a fixed wing. Yes,
but it can land and take off vertically because it's

propellers on the edge of its fixed wing can tilt
upwards or forwards, so it can either put them upwards
and go up. It's got like twelve of them, six
on each side or something, so it can either like
go up vertically and then just take off like a plane.

Yeah, it's pretty cool. So people might know those osprays.
Do you know the osprays?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yes, the ospray.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, it's kind of like a little version, like a
commercial version of an ospray, right.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
A Tesla version, yeah, rightric Yeah. So yeah, so these
things are going to basically lift off from specific places
around LA and then we'll be able to fly and
then land in other specific places around LA. And so
they're going to use this Apparently it is the official
ear taxi provider for the twenty eight Games, and it's
going to shuttle VopS athletes I'm assuming highly expensive spectator

tickets two different places. And they say that it will
be able to turn a wonder to our drive into
a teen to twenty minute journey and it is one
hundred times quieter than a helicopter.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Okay, well, yeah, we don't want to get in it.
All of that sounds good, well it does, Yeah, it
sounds good in theory. So do we know how much
it's going to cost to find one of them?
Speaker 1 (02:27):
We don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
We don't talk about it.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yeah, okays Angeles, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Don't talk about silly details.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Like yeah, right, we're dreaming here.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
It's twenty twenty five. This is going to be twenty
twenty eight. I mean those out later.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah, yeah, I feel like there could be some things
that go wrong, but look, yeah, we're remaining open minded
at the stage. Look, and they are cool looking gun
of machines. So you know, hey, TikTok apparently wants kids
to sleep.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, because it is. You go to bed, you pull
out your phone, you get stuck in the TikTok hole. Right,
We've been there at the time just disappears. So after
ten pm now kids who are under eighteen are going
to get a reminder that they may have just been
scrolling a touch too long and that sleep is good,
and they even get promoted to do some guided meditation.
They've got some relaxing music that's quite nice. So that's

going to be on by default for all users under eighteen.
If you're over eighteen and still find yourself stuck in
TikTok holes after ten pm and should be asleep. You
too can turn on the reminders you go into the
sleep hours in your screen time settings and hopefully you'll
get some zen.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Can you turn it off if you're under eighteen?
Speaker 3 (03:38):
No? Yeah, I actually think you can. The release specifically
said like toggled on by default, but they said I
remember actually reading now you mentioned that. I do believe
that they said that the kids who did it opted
in and kept it.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
They were okay with.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
It, okay, because they've tried it already. Yeah, right, yeah,
they trial it, so it's kinds like the big Grand
the rollout. Yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
I've added this relaxing music guide of meditation, which is
a nice ad, isn't it.

I'm just not sure about getting a guided meditation from
an app like it sort of seems counterintuitive, but from
