Cameron George: Warriors CEO on home victory over table-topping Panthers

The Warriors strengthened their push for the top with a decisive win over the Panthers 28-12. 

The NRL's top four are now log-jammed as the battle for a top two spot ramps up ahead of the finals. 

The Panthers and Roosters sit level on 36 points, the Warriors on 34 and the Sharks have 32. 

Warriors CEO Cameron George said he's 'incredibly proud' of the team and the fans.

Warriors showed all you needed to see Friday as they
spank the Panthers returned to second on the table, just
two points off the top. Now Cameron George is the
Warriors CEO. He's back with It's Cameron Morning to you.
The morning my short of winning the whole thing in
a few weeks time. I mean, Friday night as good
as it gets, isn't it? Your full house? People are
going nuts, We're playing brilliantly. I mean, what more do

Yeah? Look, as a footy club, it was a pretty
proud moment to have the stadium obviously full, just the
entertainment and the experience that we provided off the field
and then actually complimented what happened on the field. And
you know we had a lot of happy people at
the stadium, but also no doubt around New Zealand and
Australia that watched it as well.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Do you and your quiet moments dream of winning the
mind at Premiership?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah? Absolutely, that's what we're striving to do to start with.
We want to finish as high up the ladder as
we possibly can. But what sort of you know you
really got to understand, as we all do, is that
once it happens on Friday night. We want to get
back to work today and rebuild for this week. It's
such a typical competition and you can only achieve the

great goals if you can just take it by work
by week, and that's truly what we're focused on it
the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
What's the bottom line worth? Do you keep the money?
I can't remember? I ask each something, do you keep
the money on the home playoff stuff? Or do you
give it all to Peter Blandy's.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I hope Peter takes it all. He's a lucky man,
isn't he? Not with a dollar at the moment. But anyway,
how it is. But yeah, the NRL owned the finals,
so you know we work with them naturally to deliver it.
But you know they receive all the financial benefits.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
What's the value then? It's just the home ground advantage,
getting the full house and the noise behind it.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, And there's no better advantages there being at home
playing big matches, and you know, we don't want to
be traveling through those finals. We want to stay here
as much as and that's why we need to win
this week. You know, we need to take week by week.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, I don't want to jinx it, but the Broncos, Rabbitos,
Knights and Seagulls, there's no reason why we can't win all.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Four us there, that's the intention. And we start today training,
working and we want to win every game. We want
to be ruthless how we finish off the season and
that's that's our really really intent, to be honest. But
we'll start this week in Brisbane and just deal with
that and then and then worry about next week. Next week?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Do you want me to pass around a hat to
get Luke Metcarr back? What do we need to do
about that?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh? Look, we celebrated Luke the other day, but you know,
all decisions have been made and we're just focused on
what we can do together with Luke this year. And
I hope he I hope he puts his foot down
this week and leads us, you know, to where we
want to be against the Broncos. So he's a terrific kid, Luke,
and we love having hi about their club.
