Netball stakeholders attempting to overthrow the national governing body say issues extend beyond the Silver Ferns coaching saga.

The Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone has called a Special General Meeting for Sunday to declare its intention for the board and chief executive to be replaced.

Tauranga Netball Centre board chair Nicola Compton says Dame Noeline Taurua's treatment is one of three major concerns.

She told Mike Hosking the other two are the uncertainty surrounding the ANZ Premiership after next year and the mishandling of the television rights deal.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Could have a cu at Netball New Zealand various zones
they call them zones. They're moving to force a vote
of no confidence in the CEO and the board. You
need three of the five zones around the country to
call the special general meeting. Nicky Compton is the tower
on the Netball Center board chair and as with us,
Nicky morning.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Has this been building for a while?

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yes it has. I can only speak on behalf of
our Netball Center. So at Taro on the Netball Center,
we are unhappy with the way things have progressed in
the last probably a year actually, and so we've been
working towards getting the way Cato Bay a Penny Zone
which we're part of, to be one of the three

(00:41):
zones to call the special General Meeting of Netball New Zealand.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Where's that at? Will they end up calling it or
voting for it?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
So we have the Wayekato Bay a Penny Zone Special
General Meeting this Sunday, and we're confident that we will
have enough of our center is within that zone to
vote positively for that. And then it's a matter of
talking with the other zones to see if they will
follow suit with us.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Is this all no lean or wider than that.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
It's wider than that. We've got three main issues at
Taram and Etpull Center. There's real uncertainty around the AMZ
premiership moving forward after next year and that's the pinnacle
of our domestic competition in the pathway for the Silver
fren So that's concerning the television rights deal. I think

(01:32):
has been mishandled and I understand the deal that has
been done has come at a cost to New Zealand.
And then the Nolean Tatler name Nolen, she is incident
in the.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Way that was handled, just a complete shamble. Sunday it
is for the meeting. We'll be in touch next week
and we'll see where that goes and see ultimately whether
it heads to the big vote in the coups on
