Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now as Matty Pain, who was on the program yesterday
told us a lot of excitement the peddic around the
supercars double headed TAPO this week in christ You to
next fifty thousand expected accommodation TAPA at the moment ninety
two percent full. Two and a half thousands Australians have
made the trip. Tony Quinn, of course, is the owner
of the Tapeau International Motorsport parkings back. Well, that's Tony
morning to you, Borry sir. You've got to be loving

(00:21):
seeing how TAPO these days has been utilized since you
bought the place.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yes, it's it's true, it should be. I'm very, very
proud of the team. Have done a great job. The
grass is looking them and proper, and the town is buzzing,
so it's all good.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Everybody's upbeat, fantastic. It's no small feat to get supercars
across the Tasman, given you know the physical problems associated
with it. A supercar's visionary in your view. Are they
doing a good job?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yes, I mean it's it's as you would appreciate. It's
not an easy job to satisfy all the critics, and
you know they've done a reasonably good job. I mean,
there's always things that we can improve on, and you
know every year we look back and say, well, we
could do that better, So you know, but I think

(01:14):
in general, I think the fact that we're doing a
double headers this year in New Zealand is testament to
the fact that we believe in New Zealand. The market
in New Zealand is strong for the IT supercars and
we get a lot of support. So now I think
we're doing as good as we can given all the
bloom and dramas that face the world at the moment.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Exactly. I was talking about pain yesterday, we were talking.
You would know this having spent a lot of time
in Australia these days, that in terms of television coverage,
in promotion, nothing is increasing faster than motorsport and supercars
as part of that. Do you see and feel that
as well? Does it feel like a sport on the up?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yes, it does and we need to keep up with it.
But you know, and we're doing our best to do
all that. But it's like anything, we have to drag
everybody with us, you know, the teams, the public, the fans.
You know. This fin engagement has become a big part
of the business of the sporting world, and so we're

(02:17):
all trying to find new ways of driving. This what
they called fan engagement, so you know that's that's what
we concentate on.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Drivers seem to like Tampa, don't there as a track?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, yeah, Tapo was great and they're about to experience
through a Poona, which you know is a fine track.
It's a good track and a good city. So I
think Crease Ships will do very well.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Fantastic, You have a good weekend. Nast having on the
program as always Tony Quin who's the owner of Tampa.
He doesn't own a poon Hit, so it is Yeah,
that's a good track, be better if I owned it,
but he doesn't at the moment. For more from the
Mic Asking Breakfast, listen live to news talks. It'd be
from six am weekdays, or follow the podcast on iHeartRadio.

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
