The Perspective of Dying - David Dow, a professor at the University of Houston Law Center, specializes in death penalty issues. He is the founder of Texas Innocence Network and has represented more than 100 death-row inmates over the past twenty years. In his new book, Things I've learned from Dying, David goes beyond the Court of Appeals and weaves together three stories of dying and the lessons for living that comes with them.

Have Some Heart! - It's February, and lovebirds - young and old - are busy shopping for chocolates, flowers, and perhaps some baubles. All symbols of love and the human heart. But February is also American Heart Month, and that means it's time to show yourself some love as well! Joining us to talk about heart disease - and how to stay "heart healthy"- is cardiologist Dr. Elizabeth Reineck from Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

The Lost Art of Letter Writing - We Babes agree that there's nothing like the excitement of getting a letter in the mailbox instead of the inbox. We went to Simon Garfield, author of To The Letter: A Celebration of the Lost Art of Letter Writing, to discuss the new form of correspondence and what will become of the old way of writing.

Heroes in Our Midst - Angela Byrd, Carol Wood, and Fire Chief Don Ford rescued a family clinging for life on their capsized boat in the Chesapeake Bay. Tune in for an amazing story of heroism, and a community coming together to save a family.

Let's Bake! - King Arthur is America's oldest flour company and the largest educator of home bakers in the world. Their latest cookbook, King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion, has hit the shelves and Susan Reid, the editor of their award winning newsletter, The Baking Sheet, offers the latest baking tips and even some advice for gluten free recipes.
