Aussies back Green, NRL controversy, Jamarra's return clouded, Gout flies in Ostrava

The Aussies are sticking with Cameron Green at number three for the first Test against the West Indies in Barbados. Skipper Pat Cummins says Green’s double failure in the Test Championship Final at Lord’s was just an aberration. Josh Inglis will bat at four in place of the injured Steve Smith.

NRL boss Andrew Abdo has defended the ARL Commission’s contentious move to give itself the power to overrule the match review committee. Abdo says the special powers will only be applied in the event of a major error.

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge says the return of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan to the side is still a long way off. The former number one draft pick returned to the club last week after taking personal leave.

Aussie sprint sensation Gout Gout lived up to the hype in his first race in Europe. The 17-year-old bettered his national record for the 200 metres at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, winning in 20.02 seconds.
