Speaker 1 (00:01):
Here in the vast plains of Adelaide, South Australia, two
young males engage in an ancient ritual.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Known as a podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Its purpose to attractive mates, and by mates we mean listeners.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
They're both married, so please don't slide into their DMS.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Their name is are Ben and Leo.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Well, hi there, podcaster.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Hello, hopefully you enjoyed today's episode. I'm gotta say quite dynamic.
It felt dynamic, a lot of moving parts, had a
hell of a lot of.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Fun with it, I think. I mean, we'll be the
first to admit that the podcast at the end of
last year, or towards the end of its run, at
our previous stage, it was getting just you know that
was purely because of our direction, but directive, but it
was getting very talk back heavy. There was a less
personal story.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
And of course at a certain point it was because
the tart was put out on the floor and we
were of course going to be cattle prodded in the
back of the head.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Like in Dexter, when you know the elevator opens and
the plastic there's a plastic lining in the elevator. Yeah,
you know it's about to enter.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
We got told in when was it like September. It's like, hey, a,
you're gonna be finishing up, but you can work Itember, which.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Is a long it's a long lead anyway. But now
you know the point of what I'm saying is at
the moment, the show's feeling really good off the pat far,
the contents dynamic, it's feeling like we're getting a lot
of our original ideas back into the Jhow Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Peter joins us in Melbourne podcast to Peter, how you
doing you?

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Yeah? Very well.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
I mean we know you, Peter, You've you've listened for
for years. Would you agree with what Ben said there?
Do you feel like it's sort of got some of
the gusto back in it? Well?

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Yeah, definitely, Like I wasn't listening back in the Adelaide
days when you guys were at the other station. Yeah,
but it feels like from listening back to those podcasts,
it feels like it's back to Pete, Ben and liamb
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Great to have Bell and Bold still Yeah, absolutely no
love Bell now you you were listening so yeah, because
you I remember my first memory of you, Peter is
when Banned, myself and Bell were doing the pedlow down
the Yarra.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
Yeah, and I came down.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
It came down and you were walking along the Yarra
with us, which was which was very sweet. So you
you you got on the show when we did Melbourne Breakfast,
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Yeah, I first I think I said it in one
of the previous podcasts, but I first got on to
you guys when you did the lunch Break, And yes.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
The Lunch Break. I forgot about that show we actually
are doing. We're doing a random one now, we're doing
Saturday mornings nationally here on Kiss as well. But that
I can assure you that that is in the can.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Well, it's all the content, it's all the best bits
from the week. And then we do like bespoke tops. Yeah,
hang on, just a flag?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Could that be a podcast? Or is it too much clutter?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
It's too much clutter? Because then it's like it's too
much clutter. I mean because for me, I'm like, if
you want to go listen to one podcast a week, yeah,
I suppose it services that person, but I don't know who.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Just when we have an anti clutter approach here, yeah,
we're very like, I know there's you know, the different
thoughts here and there. I like this sort of podcast inns.
Obviously we get to the show, you know, shortly. Yesterday
we had that little bit, that extra bit at the
end of the pod yep with Bell there. She was
trying to do the parody. I don't know if you
liked that, Peter, but I was thinking maybe we could

(03:23):
do bonus bits more often at the end of the
pod as a little treat for the podcasters as well.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Yeah, I reckon, like, I'm loving the new format the
way it is, Like, I like how it's all in
one podcast, but I feel like we definitely need a
lot more off their content at the.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
End of the epnoding.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Okay, more off air content. That's good, And you know what,
I'm glad you've you've asked for it. In fact, we
are going to be joined by some very special guests,
friends of mine, Ben and Peter. You were like this,
they've just had my enemies.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Oh you've not met them. I've met them. When you
say they're friends of yours, it sounds like they're my enemies.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean i'd love to introduce you
some day. Yeah, I suppose you'll meet them over the
airwaves shortly. But they've actually just been awarded Podcast of
the Year, which is huge, which is huge.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
So we'll have.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Special guests on at the end of this podcast, so
make sure you hang around for that. You know what
that means. Peter Bell's been gonged in so good good
to see her.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Would mind a bit more haste from Bell when the
gong goes. I just I feel like they needs to
be like, whatever you're doing, you drop her. You got
to be sort of like ready to just come, you
know what I mean. I wouldn't mind a light job,
but we'll work on that.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
Do you want a Saturday show or yes, I'm building
at the moment. And also I did think about doing
the Saturday podcast version of that like the best of Them.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
We used to do that, and we used to do that.
That's what I thought. But for me, that was purely
just to get the numbers up on the pod.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Peter, what's your take? What's your take as a podcaster?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Would you would you think that's like just pointless or
if we called it like best of the Week and
it was just in there, yeah at the end on
a Saturday or whatever.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
I feel like for the regular podcasters will always shin
into every episode, but maybe it might be good for
someone that's just like a casual. Those guys are pretty good.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, like a bit of a bit of a normy,
someone who's new to the game.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Yeah, but I just I feel like a normal is
going to go onto the feed and go like, oh,
where's the episode for me that was listening to the
first episode they see? Probably true. Hey, let's jump into
the pod and then we'll come on the back of
it with some more business.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
Yeah, I've got business.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Okay, great, well no, no, we've got our business at
the end of the pot already. I remember I said
the special guests we're going to be joining us. Okay,
so you can do the business here, I mean, Peter,
no better time than the present. We just do the
business now? Or should we should we have the guests
on and then do the business after the guests we need, Peter,
what do you do in the business now or.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
At the end after the friends?

Speaker 5 (05:50):
I'm happy to hang around. So whatever you guys want
to do, really.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
What's podcast time? So like in reality, look, let's Peter,
thank you, thank you. I think we'll love and leave
you and appreciate your ears. We'll get into the podcast
then the penultimate thing you'll hear is Special Guests Podcast
of the Year. Then after that will come in with
a little bit more business. This is great. This is
so much bespoke content, a lot of bespoke content for

(06:15):
you today. Enjoy all right, Peter, Thanks guys.

Speaker 7 (06:18):
Bye.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Oh hang on before you go, do you want to
kiss buck Haw or a magnet?

Speaker 5 (06:23):
I'd love a magnet?

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Please a magnet. I'll put you on the list because
they're not made yet with they're kind of in the
pre order stage. Can you just.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Message through that best postal address please, Peter?

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Yeah, all good, thanks guys, Bye, enjoy the pod.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
It's the big Adelaide story that's taken the nation by
storm this week. Ben the male training group, the gym
group who were using the Glen Side playground. Few parents complain.
They're like, hey, you can't work out here. This kid's
playing and the Burnside council got involved and it's all
just been blown out of proportion. Everyone's having that hot
take now. The Jim bros have been displaced.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
They say, well, hey, if we can't work out on
the playground, where can we work out? They don't have
a spot where they can all meet and do their exercises,
and Ben and I felt bad for them, so we
decided to call around some local businesses as the group
to see if they would allow us to train there.
First up, we tried calling a bowling alley. I.

Speaker 8 (07:22):
Good morning, thank you so much for calling kings in.
How can I help them?

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Mate, how you doing? My name's Chad from the men's
fitness group.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
I was just wondering if you guys would have any
space for say, thirty of us.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
To come in to work out today but today? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
we're just thinking we could come in, maybe do some
some call. Maybe around midday we could do something like
Russian twitters. Ab you mountain climbers.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Yeah, thank you for again of bullying. How many players and.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
How many games bowling?

Speaker 9 (07:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
I don't know how much bowling we're doing.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
More.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
We were more thinking of just sort of working out,
doing some sled pushes, v ups, dead hangings, that sort
of stuff.

Speaker 8 (07:57):
Oh okay, so industrial not one what I have here.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
On my taking a pew to broking and bull Importantly, well,
we stripped out at bowling Ali very good, Ben. So
next up we try the local library.

Speaker 10 (08:12):
So the brook library.

Speaker 8 (08:13):
This is a niche good mate, how are you doing?

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I was just wondering if I could come in with
a bunch of guys to do a workout today.

Speaker 8 (08:21):
You've called the library, that's it.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, we're thinking we could do some core and plank
on top of the shelves.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
Okay, goodbye, no.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Good in the library.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Maybe we'd have more luck pulling the hardware store brand's
hardware Asus Randal. Yeah, oh hello, my name's Chad. I
run a men's fitness group.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
We're just wondering maybe if we could come in and
do a workout today at the store.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Were really appropriated?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
I thought, yeah, yeah, yeah, we normally work out in
this playground, but they're not letting us do that anymore.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
So we're thinking, like maybe we like deadlst se Timber
or something.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
You guys are wont on the news. That's the one.

Speaker 8 (08:51):
Yeah, that's the one you saw that did you good
old fun police?

Speaker 4 (08:54):
I know, right, what the hell?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
What's wrong with a bunch of sweaty, shirtless dudes working
out next to kids on a playground?

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Huh oh.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
We were running out of time and ideas, but we
had one more thought. Let's call a kid's play cafe. Hello, Hello,
is this the Wacky Warehouse play Cafe?

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Yeah? Oh good. My name's Chad. I run a men's
fitness group.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
I was just wondering if we could potentially come in
for a workout today.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
No, sorry, oh you sure?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
No spot we could do like shuttle runs or board jumps.
We got kicked out of our usual playground where we
work out.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
No sorry because the kids play cafe.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Oh right, there no room for like thirty shirtless duds
to work out there?

Speaker 11 (09:35):
Or no?

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Okay, is there anywhere else you'd recommend?

Speaker 10 (09:40):
Probably the gym?

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Oh yeah, I mean that's a good idea.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Yeah, just I was like a spot where yeah okay, yeah, no,
I didn't even think about that.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
That's all right, like a gym. Yeah, that makes so
much sense. About that, now that you've said that, Yeah, okay, yeah,
that's good. You know what we'll do that?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Thank you?

Speaker 8 (09:54):
Hi, groundbreaking.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
We found a new home for the group. It turns
out the whole time they could have gone to a gym.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
I don't know what didn't even think of that in
the first place.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
So about those kids at the play cafe, they will
go on feral Yeah, I know that was at like
ten o'clock in the morning as well. Now, Alam, I
always leave my wallet on the console table in the hallway.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Yeah, I couldn't find it the other day. I was like,
where's my wallet and Sam was like, oh, it's in
my handbag. I was like, okay, great noros. So I
went to a handbag. I went in there to get
it out. I couldn't believe this thing that she carries
with it all the time. I've never actually looked in there,
and the stuff in there I thought was crazy. Yeah,
like as men we don't have as most men don't
have handbags. But I don't really know what needs to

(10:40):
go in there because obviously like a purse.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Maybe, yeah, I run light, I mean I have I'm
purely off the phone these days. And if I have
to bring my keys, yeah, one house key, I take
it off the chain.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I just put the house key in my pocket. Yeah,
like a purse and a phone. But I should have
known that this was kind of happening because so Sam,
my wife, her mum has an enormous bag. So I
think I think, like mother, like daughter. I think she's
just starting to accumulate stuff in this bag that she
absolutely does not need I'll hand you the bag now.
So I told her I was bringing it to work.
She's out, that's fine, no worries. So this is this

(11:12):
is the bag mate, nice brief, very nice. Well yeah,
I mean that was an anniversary present, like a girl, well,
like a girl. A bit of a tip for you, actually,
if any any of the fellas listening, I got that
for quite cheap on D pop. Oh right, yeah, now
you're right. I can tell. It's the fact now.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah that she couldn't okay, all right, no it is.
It's a nice bag, okay, and it is? Hell was that?

Speaker 4 (11:39):
What is it? That's a funnel? Why is it going
a funnel? I think it's because she uses it to
put stuff in, like pure a formula and stuff. Yeah,
but a full like kitchen funnel. Yeah, that's nuts.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Looks like she's doing science experiments a single proof.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Surely that's not necessary, fairy. Okay.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
She has some Alan keys, yep, all different imperial sizes.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Seven there. That's because we bought a new high chair
on Facebook marketplace.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
We brought allen keys to take it apart to get
in the car. I'm sure she doesn't put them away yet.
This is wild uh deodorant, anti chafed stick YEP, that's fair.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
I suppose wow stickers.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
So I'm assuming is that if Freddy, you're todd graphy
doesn't think good, Yeah, he doesn't sticker.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
If he doesn't poo in the toilet gets a sticker, right,
So if you're out and about, you gotta have that
reward system. Yeah, okay, kind of dinosaur stickers.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
A bamboo tooth brush yep, also for Freddy.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
I don't know why that's in there.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
I don't know why that needs to be in there.
Obviously tooth no, I thought that was gonna be toothpaste.
It's deep pe so in.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Case she was a give gives someone a rub down.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Yeah, that's obviously when she's playing local D grade footy.
In meantime, there we have a single fork. I suppose
you never know when you're gonna need a meal we
have Okay, I think that's actually just from the handbag.
That's the the depoprasy, that's the depoprisy, and it is
all in Chinese writing. We have a watch fair enough

(13:14):
other time, pair of scissors with a weapon.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
The last few things here just a hair tie. I
don't know what that is? Maybe like a lip gloss. Yeah,
we've got some pens here yep, and eyeshadow. So yeah,
that is that's too much. That's too much. You could
cut down at least basically all of that, all of it.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Yeah, yeah, I don't think. Maybe the dead and the
stickers to keep Freddy happy. Yeah, the single brood.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I mean, I don't know if that's a mistake or
I don't know, she needs to get the bows moving
or I don't know.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
All right, thirteen one oh six five. I would love
to know this morning. Are you like my wife Sam?
Have you got weird things in your handbag you're always
carrying around? It just becomes this black hole where does
everything ends up? Among other things.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
I get if you've got kids as well, it's a
little bit just like a free for all. You know,
you're sort of just got to keep them occupied. Vic
you're in my land, what's in your handbag?

Speaker 8 (14:07):
I always leave the house with a chin of tuna
in my handbag.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Yeah, it's good, good, good source of protein, easy and go.
I suppose is that in case you get hungry? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (14:18):
So, but sometimes it'll be, you know, in my handbag
for like a month or so, and then I'll have
it by emergency tuna.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Yeah, and then will you bring a fork as well?

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (14:27):
I have the disposable forks.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
In my bag. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (14:30):
Wow, shut it out and then good to go.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
You got it all sorted well. You never know when
you might need a little hit a tuna. Beth in
Mount Barker, what's in your handbag?

Speaker 6 (14:39):
Good morning, fan?

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Liam. I found a rock, a very big rock, about.

Speaker 8 (14:43):
The size of a cyst.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Why was that in there?

Speaker 8 (14:47):
Well, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
I'm gonna say my seven year old son slipped it
in there at some point, and I don't know how
long it is, Do I get that?

Speaker 1 (14:53):
I mean he's probably just seen the rock and been like,
that's a nice bowlder and thought you'd just put it
in this bag to take home.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Sorry, though that you've probably got so much stuff in
said handbag that you didn't notice the way increased with
the giant rock.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
For sure, Like if there was if there was a
rock on my person at any time, I would know.
As I said, I like to run light. Diane in Elizabeth,
What have you got in your handbag?

Speaker 12 (15:15):
Ben Alia, I've got a twenty seven year old.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Little wooden zebra. Why is that in there.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I went to.

Speaker 12 (15:22):
South Africa twenty seven years ago in nineteen ninety nine
and went to Kruga National Park on a safari and
my first animal I saw was a zebra and I
fell in love with them and I bought lots of
flushies and everything like that. And on my way home,
I went to the Jahanna's airport and the he was
sitting there in a little basket and I bought him
through my bag.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Ever since, Yeah, I mean, that's and that's a lot
of people. You know, it's phone, wallet, keys, twenty seven
year old zebra a rose in Faringdon Park.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Why and what do you have in your handbag?

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Morning, guys?

Speaker 8 (15:56):
I carry a pack of a cigarette.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Okay, that's fair to carry a packet of cigarettes if
you're a smoke or I suppose.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Hang on. So is it just to meet people?

Speaker 8 (16:10):
No, you know, it's a homeless post someone to smoke.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
That's okay, So you're kind of just you'll just carrying
them around in case someone wants one. Yeah, that's why.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
I mean, because I've been asked for daries before, never
smoked myself, always disappointing people.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
But the fact that you don't.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Smoke and you obviously you know, bad for your health,
not not for me. But you are such a nice
person that you're just you're ready, You're ready at all
times to just throw out a little coffin nail to
someone rose.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Have you ever thought about updating it to perhaps the vape.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
I volunteered for Orange Sky laundry.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Huh oh yes, tread fan, you never know.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Yeah, but Ben Ben makes a good point because a
lot of younger people don't go for the acoustics, they
go for the electric these days with the vape.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Have you got a vape there? And just in case
one wants to path of some cherry pools? N no'd
be crazy.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, yeah, just a pack of a cigarettes for someone
who doesn't smoke.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
It's impressive. It really is good on your rose. Obviously
not good on you for you know, the smoking part
of it, for enabling the smoking, but I also understand
that it comes from a kind pie. And if someone's.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Fame for a drry and you're just that you're a
saint and you've got your My worry would be once
people work out that you're the ladies who smoke, who's
always going to pack it on her you're going to
get hounded it in sea. Good morning, Sandra in Holden Hill.

(17:42):
What are you doing up so early? I'm on my
way to work.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
What do you work?

Speaker 8 (17:46):
I work in a convent with Catholic sisters.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Are you a nun?

Speaker 1 (17:50):
No?

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Okay, so you you work with the nuns, but you're
not a nun.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 8 (17:57):
I've always been brought up with Catholic nuns through also, yep,
I've work for them now.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Oh yeah, I just yeah, there you go. I didn't.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I didn't know there was some many convents around these days.
Because you have convents of nuns, you also have convents
of witches.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah, it's nuns.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Okay, good because we have a zero tolerance policy for
witchcraft on this show. Look, we do have three questions
in front of us. If you get them all right, Sandra,
you're winning a prize. The Adelaide Central Market has been
ranked the third best food market in the entire world.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Good for us. What's the last thing you bought off
Facebook marketplace?

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Coat hangers?

Speaker 8 (18:40):
Really?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
You're right? Yeah, I suppose just like some some nice
wood ones or some felt ones, perhaps wooden ones, long
ones long yeah, yeah, for all those long coats and
things A.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Jacober Laudie and Kendall Jenner are supposedly together. Can you
name one TV show or movie that Jacober Laudie.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Has been.

Speaker 8 (19:01):
Oh my god, it's pretty hot with.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
The kids these days, Sandra. Ah, No, there was that
big movie there. I've only seen one thing that's in
there was that big movie. It was on Netflix. Had
that weird scene in the bath? Did you ever see that?

Speaker 1 (19:17):
No? Sorry, you're going to have to move on. Caitlin,
you're a morph vail. Do you know a thing that
Jacob A. Lordie has been in?

Speaker 9 (19:27):
Celt close calling, we'll have to move to Mary in
Golden Grove, Jacober LORDI.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Can you name one thing he's been in? I can't.
You can't, really, I can't, Jim and I will. The
Salt Bush was close, but it's not quite right.

Speaker 8 (19:52):
I can't.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Right now, it's so good.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
I'm watching a show that he's in at the moment.
It's just returned for season three on HBO. Max, Laura
and surely you know Jacob Elodie's the name thing he's
been in.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
And Salt Ben, Saltburn is what the we were looking for.
Ben referred to it.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
He's also in Priscilla Euphoria, Kissing Booth, Bothering Heights, The
Big One with Margot Robbie. Okay, well, last question here
if you get it right at price coming your way.
A new study Laura has found Ozzie children are too
scared to use the school toilets.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
When did you last go for a number two? That's
a bit personal, but it was about four point thirty
this morning, the right early riser, much like myself.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
Congratulations, good on your Laura. We're going to send you
along to go see the drama with four tickets.

Speaker 8 (20:46):
Amazing, Thank you so much, No worries at all.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
That's all thanks to Pallas and Nova Cinemas. Also, God
damn these jobs making us pull at four fifty in
the morning. What is life?

Speaker 1 (20:55):
I don't think we meant to be doing that early
in the show. Yesterday, Ben we met Anna Stay from
Mawson Lakes. She won the sixteen quiz, but the system
literally wouldn't let us give her a prize because she'd
simply won so many. So we got her back on
the phone to tell her all the prizes that she'd won.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
We can see obviously you won.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Robbie Williams Britpop tickets the other day. That'd be good.
Also a double pass Decludo the play.

Speaker 8 (21:23):
Oh my god, it was amazing.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Yeah, I bet eighty dollars cash.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
What did you spend that on petrol? Yeah? Nice?

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Harry Styles Together Together tour yep, yeah nice. Nice, So
that'd be good for you. You had a double pass
for Wicked for good? Was it as good as the
first one?

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (21:38):
What about the running Man movie? He won four tickets
to that.

Speaker 8 (21:41):
Yeah, that wasn't that great?

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah, you can't win them all. Did you enjoy the
Haunted House at the Royal Show?

Speaker 6 (21:49):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (21:49):
Yeah, I'm a games buffer person, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
That was so much fun on in there, like three
times Jerry Seinfeld?

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Was he funny?

Speaker 8 (21:56):
Oh my god, he was absolutely amazing.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
You also smell nice, and I bet that's because of that.
Yulia Fragrance voucher.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
You won a couple months ago a wild amount of prizes.
Anastagia from Mawson Lakes joins us again, good morning, how
are you doing?

Speaker 8 (22:10):
Good morning, guys? How are you today?

Speaker 3 (22:12):
We very well?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Now, look anastage, I think it's safe to say other
shows would maybe dismiss you as a prize pick. That'd
say you've won simply too much. You're only here for
the prizes. That's not what Ben and I see, Anastasia.
We see raw, untapped talent and a lot of potential

(22:33):
in you. And we were wondering, would you be up
for a little challenge.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Okay, it depends on the challenge, I think, But yeah,
let's go.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
We've got to need to hear it. Yes, you're up
for a challenge.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
Yes, I'm up for a challenge.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Okay, that's good because we've made this. They don't know.

Speaker 7 (22:50):
Her name, they don't see her face, but every time
a radio station runs a giveaway, she's already there, living
through the phone lines, disguising her voice, out smarting producers
and dodging suspicion. And she's always one step ahead. Different names,

(23:11):
different accents, same result, prize secured. They call her a glitch,
a rumor, a coincidence. But in the shadows of the airwaves,
there's only one truth. Anastasia from More Sun Lakes Gears, Prize.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Ball, Prize Ball. That is your new name. Are you
happy with that?

Speaker 12 (23:42):
Why not?

Speaker 4 (23:43):
With it? Your mission, Anastasia is we want you to
go to every other radio station to win a prize
if you can complete your mission yep, you then come
back to us here at Kiss one or two three,
and we'll give you a Mega prize. Okay, I'm up
for that.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
So unfortunately will mean we'll have to say goodbye to
your ears for the next week. We trust you'll come back,
but your your targets are NOVA, Trip a M, and SAFM,
so you need it somehow in the next and I
trust you'll be able to do it because you managed
to slip through our guarden many times.

Speaker 8 (24:22):
So you do Nova and what else.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
SAFM ideally, So you just anytime they're doing like a
prize or something, we want you to call up and
you need to win it. And then obviously you bring
those prizes back to us, will give them out on
our show, but you in return will win a mega prize.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
It's kind of like you know in the movies, when
you know in the movies, when there's like a criminal
who's like such a good criminal that they get them
to work for the good guys.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah yeah, yeah, like the CIA higher like a career criminal.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
That's kind of what we're doing here.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
No worries, very unsuspecting, so is prize mole, never lower
your defense, good luck prize male. Hey, we're just speaking
to Anastasia from Mawson Lakes who was our prize Mole.

Speaker 11 (25:13):
Prize.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
She's going to be winning prizes on other radio stations
for us. In return, she'll winning Mega prize.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
Which hasn't been describe what that Mega prize.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Is it hasn't Yeah, we'll work that out. We'll work
out the Mega prize. It will be mega, it'll be huge.
And we're thinking, obviously we're you know, we're going to
reward Anastasia who's won many prizes here on Kiss, with
another prize, but she's doing a bit of.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Work for it.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
But we thought, hey, maybe if you.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Like never call radio stations, like if you never ever
call one three one zero six' five is a number

what do you, Mean, like what are you?

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Doing go and check?

Speaker 1 (38:15):
It like what you go down there and find out
what he's barking. At AND i was, like, Okay SO
i went down to, check went.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Downstairs did you grab the fish? BATH i wasn't ready
for a.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
FIGHT i.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
KNEW i. KNEW i knew it was going to be something.
STUPID i wasn't LIKE i was pretty. Tired but if
there was an intruder, air it wouldn't have been you'd
accepted that. FACE i would have just gone to take
what you need to give me. BREAK i was in
the deepest. Sleep just take what you.

Speaker 11 (38:44):
Need.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
Go and of course it wasn't an.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
Intruder the dog was just, laughing, sorry, laughing barking at
the giant steamroll at the front of my house because
there's some roadworks going up at the, moment and.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
That's this is a side part of the.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Story that's why the mattresses in the land room near the,
kitchen because we're trying to get as far away from
that as. Possible BUT i think that was the first
time he saw the lights like a big spaceship and
he WAS i, mean he was doing the right thing,
thing trying to protect us from the steam roll come in.

Speaker 12 (39:13):
Here.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Yeah and then this MORNING i woke up again And
sarah was, LIKE i can't believe.

Speaker 8 (39:17):
You last.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
NIGHT i liked that he was, barking and you just
took so, Long AND i was, like, yeah BUT i
knew it would be exactly what it was, like something not.
Important probably could have just gone back to. Bed but,
look if you've had a similar, situation because you, know
it's it's normally someone's role in the relationship to wake
up and go and check and what's happened when there's

(39:38):
a loud noise at night or they're a bit of
a disturbance around the. House what did your intruder turn
out to? Be lauren In Flagstaff?

Speaker 4 (39:46):
Hill what was? Yours?

Speaker 13 (39:48):
Oh similar to.

Speaker 8 (39:48):
You we were, like you, know nice and cozy in,
bed and.

Speaker 13 (39:51):
Quite often we get like neighborhood cats that go around
us frontyard and our dog goes. Off but this one,
night the sense of light kept going off and.

Speaker 8 (39:59):
On AND i think it was, yeah two or three
in the, morning and the dog was like not his usual.

Speaker 13 (40:03):
Dark it was really. Like SO i was like my,
HUSBAND i was, like can you get? Up can you
get up in check because like the light's going. Up
so in his, underpants he gets, up grabs a golf
putter that's by the front, door.

Speaker 8 (40:15):
And you, KNOW i was, ready ready to see.

Speaker 11 (40:17):
WHAT i was.

Speaker 8 (40:17):
Happy and it was just four a kidneas just back
and forth in front of our.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
House so your husband walloped them the. House oh that's.
Cute and the kidder that's it's a nice. Thing it's
all a. Kidness it's quite.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Rare, yeah that's a hell of a. Lot, jess you're
In Albert. Park what did you're true to turn out to? Be?

Speaker 8 (40:40):
SO i was eighteen and my parents were overseas AND
i was looking after my younger. Brothers heard a commotion
inside the house at, night SO i ended up calling
the police and letting them meet in and they woke
up my brothers shining the torch flights in their, faces
only tined. Out it was one of them's.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
Sleepwalking oh, yeah sleep walking around the house. Spook, yeah
we didn't walked that.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Point it's just one of those. Things we're lucky we
live In australia and Not. America, yeah the cops arrested. Him, Yeah,
gloria you're in. Micguil what about? You what does your
intruder turn out to?

Speaker 8 (41:15):
Be, well, wife happened in the middle of the, night
And i've got a hand on my pillow AND i
let out a blood curdling, scream AND i father had a,
GUN i would have stopped that.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
Hand, yeah, okay what was?

Speaker 3 (41:27):
It my own hand has gone to.

Speaker 8 (41:30):
Sleep oh, Right.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
And once, again lucky we're not in a because that
is a. Story that's like a news story we'd read every.
Day woman spooked by own hand shoots hand Off. Kansas
we are jumping in the kiss time. Machine after this quick,
break we're going back to nineteen ninety. Seven let's do
one more caller, Though Lamb becky joins, Us, now what
did the intruder turn out to?

Speaker 4 (41:52):
Be?

Speaker 8 (41:52):
Becky, WELL i have lived in this ramshackled old shack
down near The Coipo forest and they had no, doors.

Speaker 4 (41:59):

Speaker 8 (42:01):
Anything and one NIGHT i was asleep AND i got
wake up to this, clunk, clunk.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
CLUNK i, thought what the hell is?

Speaker 8 (42:07):
That AND i turned the light, on went into the
lounge room and there was a cows down in.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
There that'll happen when you don't put a door on.
That you know you're really you're welcoming all. Creatures, REALLY
i had to get her.

Speaker 8 (42:18):
Out before she left a bit of a calling card
on the.

know kicking To Sush Studio susu studio, rather but, no,
no he's just he's getting a bit older.

Speaker 3 (43:15):

Speaker 1 (47:12):
Crazy, YEAH i, MEAN i mean obviously this was like
a people's choice sort of, thing so WHICH i like
because sometimes when there's like there's judges and you, know
people are, voting you're kind of, like, wow is this legit?

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Industry?

know like our listeners give us a bit of stick
online and it's you, know it's sort of this culture
and community we've. Cultivated but at the same, time like
so grateful that everyone just got there and, voted BECAUSE
i don't, know you don't do it for the, awards
But i'll tell you what you definitely appreciate them when
they come you.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
Away oh that's.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
It that's, it and it's not every every day year
you get to be the best podcast In australia because there'
obviously other categories are like sport, comedy but this was

Speaker 11 (49:15):
Cool Like i've looked at other podcast towards every now and,
then like previously we've never sort of been, considered so
it's nice to consider in like often there's like a
giant like entry fee or like you don't even know what's,
on so like our fans submit us for this.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
One so it was it was really cool and it
was a really fun. Event and, YEAH i don't know.

The whole crew that ran the.

NPAs we're just, lovely loveliest, people supportive. People they want
one thing and that's for podcast to. Thrive so, Yeah
chris was. Great Chris chamberlain was all we'll.

Speaker 4 (49:47):
Speaking of podcasts. THRIVING i, mean maybe the selfish of,
me But i'd love to know what makes a podcast?
Special how did you manage to reach this upper echelon of. Podcasting,
well we've been doing for five.

Speaker 11 (50:00):
Years so originally we were With spotify and then they
dumped our. Pods then we're just considered doing it by
ourselves for three, years and then we're in our fourth
now of that.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Pod SO i think grinding and not no sort of days.

Speaker 11 (50:14):
Off but on a serious, NOTE i think not no
matter how many times people tell, you no one cares
about what you, SAY i just feel.

Speaker 7 (50:24):
It that's.

Speaker 3 (50:25):
RIGHT i think there's a bit of A our podcast
is a tribute to. Radio we love.

Speaker 14 (50:29):
RADIO i come from a rival network to kiss, sorry
to say, sorry to say, guys that's all.

CONGRATULATIONS i make sure you check out their pod as.
Well obviously it may be good if you could still
listen to this. One we're clinging on to the limited
numbers we, have so you, KNOW i completely understand how
that's it's counterintuitive sending sending more people to the big,
one but, hey, uh you, know still do do check
it out because it won the award for a, reason
and you, know well done. Guys and you, know so

(51:23):
we don't always speak to other, podcasts but when when
you look at an achievement like, this you just gotta
sometimes you just got to give it up and, say
well bloody.

Speaker 4 (51:30):
Done and, Hey i'll say now we're going back to back.

Speaker 3 (51:37):

Speaker 4 (52:26):
SINCE i don't, see MAY i? DON'T i? See everyone is, equal,
okay sod? Bit, no, no, no no.

Speaker 6 (52:34):

Day he drives A b Y.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
D was he does he know you're in?

Speaker 8 (52:49):

Speaker 1 (52:50):
Yeah sounds, weird sounds. Weird we were AT i was
at someone From nervous fortieth And wolf obviously used to work,
there and he gave me a lift home off the.

Speaker 4 (53:01):
Party just kind of.

Speaker 6 (53:02):
Him has he gotten rid of his little golf or?

Speaker 4 (53:04):
Whatever, yeah he's got to be d. Now he built
his own.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
Dream.

Speaker 6 (53:08):
Yeah, NO i spoke to him yesterday because we were
calling around places and we called as as you might
know if you've been in the podcast for a, while
he works at The Marion council now and we did
call one of their libraries when you were doing a
little calls for the fitness.

Speaker 1 (53:22):
Group.

Speaker 6 (53:22):
Yep and then he texted and, said did you just
try to prank call one of my effing? Libraries he
was on to.

Speaker 3 (53:30):
Us he was on to.

Speaker 6 (53:31):
Us SO i called him and we had a good
chat and a little catch up and it was really.
Nice and he said he's been listening to the show

Speaker 4 (53:37):
Good oh, yeah that's. Nice, yeah not like anyone would
tell you if you.

Speaker 8 (53:41):
Weren't that's the.

Speaker 6 (53:41):
THING i don't think you'd be like, actually in your
seven to ten, BREAK i think you should have hooked
you know, this this This he doesn't care. Anymore but
that was my little tibit for.

Speaker 4 (53:49):
People, Okay i'll do my bit and then we'll do your. Sex,
okay Cal so mind's a little bit, Nerdy so bear with.
Us if you don't care About lord of The Rings,
LIMB i know you you have interested in this So
Nathan good pod, squatter he has gone involved with the.
Meme he, said nova or Gender. NOVAK i, said one.
Doesn't he's posted that classic like it's probably one of
the original. Memes it's it's not simply walking To. Mordor

(54:11):
but he's. Done one does not simply walk Into Mount.
Doom be force referring to WHEN i slipped up and
you're talking about destroying someone's ring on the radio. Show
obviously it's thrown into. Doom AND i, said more, door
which is the region in which were warm hot like
the lavas Of. Mountaom, yeah to be LIKE i would

(54:31):
be like if we were referring to the sugar. Loaf
BUT i, said how a, Cove like that's where it,
is but that's not the thing's.

Speaker 6 (54:37):
Name, yeah still probably a. REFERENCE i don't have my head.

Speaker 4 (54:41):
Around that's WHY i was trying to bring up speed with,
us trying to give they had the. Sugar have you
seen the Films lord of The.

Speaker 6 (54:46):
Rings i've watched the first one because my older brother
was obsessed with them growing. Up SO i THINK i
have watched the first.

Speaker 4 (54:52):
One you're excited for the new, One. LAMB i forgot
there was is. It it's. Not it's Not hobbit is it's. Not,
No so they're doing they're doing the one where it's
basically the time period is just before The fellowship of
The ring.

Speaker 1 (55:08):
Begins it's like before. That so it's, like it's fun
happen in that. Time it's Just, bilbert it's After bilbo.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
Before it's basically what happens that nothing happens right when
they find out THAT i read. It i've read a
recap on, it because that sounds. Ship, no it's more.
About it's more about it's, like, oh.

Speaker 1 (55:26):
This one's Between Philosopher's stone And secrets when they're all
on holiday and they're away From.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
Hobbarts and nothing's. HAPPENED i, mean we're gonna watch, it,
right it's gonna be it's gonna be a big, movie
both of. YOU i haven't seen all The, hobbits BUT
i so, fun.

Speaker 10 (55:40):
Really.

Speaker 4 (55:40):
GOOD i don't think i've seen The desolation Of.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
Smart that's that's a great one for What desolation Of Smiles?

Speaker 6 (55:49):
Dragon, YEAH i didn't know you were such a lord.

Speaker 4 (55:51):
HIT i Love lord of The. Rings also THE tv
show you got to WATCH. Tv i've not Seen rings Of.
POWER i, SAY i almost prefer rings power over the
movies WHEN i. Do so you guys are.

Speaker 1 (56:02):
FAMILIAR i did some voices online from time to. TIME
a lot of people will suggest a lot of the,
rings BUT i just LIKE I the only REASON i
don't do more a lot of the rings is Because
i'm not as around LIKE i Like Harry potter a.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
LOT i Like Style wars a lot Like I'm But
sarah actually really likes loot of the.

Speaker 4 (56:16):
Rings, really she she she will.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Quote it like the other day she was we got
some we got our favorite takeaway.

Speaker 4 (56:25):
And she was, like this would be a Note durham
then AND i lost it BECAUSE i was, like that's.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
Funny BUT i didn't even know she was what she
was referring. To BUT i think it's When bilbo's sm
smoking his.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
Pipe before his. Birthday it was Like, grundorf my friend
BEFORE i.

Speaker 4 (56:39):
REMEMBER i honestly think if you if you properly get
deep into, it you love.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
It it is.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Good it just didn't get me as a, KID i,
suppose so you know WHAT i, Mean like.

Speaker 6 (56:49):
You know it hasn't embedded.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
Itself, Yeah LIKE I.

Speaker 1 (56:52):
I appreciate it AND i enjoy, it AND i think
the movie is, epic AND i loved them THAT i
just wasn't even all my other.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
STUFF i, LIKE i was just obsessed with a. Kid
so it has that special place in my.

Speaker 4 (57:01):
Heart even with The rings Of. POWER i think the
reason we're like that is because the timeline they fill
in is it's it's just after the First so all
the movies we think about is in the third it's
like the most EXPENSIVE tv show.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
Ever.

Speaker 4 (57:13):
Yeah, Correct so this goes to the. BEGINNING i think
it's the beginning of the second. Age but the whole
story they're covering is the creation of all the, rings
because it seems like there's.

Speaker 6 (57:25):
More there's more than one.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
Ring there's one ring to rule them. All, yeah so
the elves that actually it's, alright quickly top. Line elves have,
three the, DWARVES i, believe have, Seven the men have.
Nine but Then souron has. One that's the ring that's
because and that's actually.

Speaker 6 (57:44):
That but so why do you want the one ring
when you can go have one of the men's not because.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
The one that's the. Thing because Sour, on because he
was the master, manipulator he was giving all these people these,
rings and they're like, wow because the rings was giving him.
Powers but they didn't realize that when they wore the,
ring they're then under control by Sour on because he's
one ring ring walls. All, yeah, exactly he's.

Speaker 6 (58:07):
Got a bigger. Ring, okay the biggest. Ring they got
the smallering just really.

Speaker 4 (58:11):
Quickly now he's took about a lot of rings too,
much but just really. Quickly that memes posted By nathan
and THEN i said the lord of the ring's heads
would have been fuming with my. Comments and Then nathan,
said not as much as when seconds Later lean was
saying That smiegel found the ring at the bottom of
a swamp river and fellowship when that didn't actually happen
until the start.

Speaker 14 (58:29):
Of return of The.

Speaker 4 (58:30):
King that deserves a. Fingershop, YEAH i.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
Suppose SO i got my wise, cross AS i, Said
i'm not as around the, law but you would appreciate
HOW i Said smigel instead Of, golumn because of course
he hasn't become column, yet do you know?

Speaker 4 (58:44):
That So snegel finds the ring and then it makes him,
sick the ring and.

Speaker 6 (58:49):
Changes, him and he so he because that's the sound he.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
Makes, yeah he just becomes a little like four door
pard or is a different that's a. Category oh my, god.

Speaker 6 (59:05):
Business, ah, yes the bidness the. Magnets, yeah it's hood.

Speaker 4 (59:11):
Or because hold the? Door, YEA.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
I shouldn't do.

Speaker 6 (59:20):
Shouldn't he is that?

Speaker 4 (59:21):
Problematic you could argue both, sides, right that's, saying all,
right what is? Magnets the?

Speaker 6 (59:31):
Magnets, okay so show merch. Magnets, yes they are in
the works we. Have so my question to you, guys

have on the. MAGNETS i will present to you these
two types of, finishes so we can have like the

for people listening the best way. Possible type, one the
finish on the magnet is like a shiny bubble kind
of three d ah. Finish it looks like.

decided your, favorite AND i feel like you've undersold the.

the you like the one of the bells looking one
of the bells chosen to me looks like something you

(01:00:40):

tacky one from Disney, world whereas the other one is
more like, no, no.

Speaker 6 (01:00:47):

at what's on the magnet as.

the same things.

Speaker 6 (01:01:09):

few but how?

Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
Many how many can you make of each you know
what we could? See BECAUSE i like that idea And
i'm not saying no to, that because.

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):

Speaker 4 (01:01:47):

image bell with you, know the people. Decid let's not
lead the witness with our. Wording let's just post it
