This is Chris and Amy in the morning.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Kiss, Hey, good morning everyone more. How are you going?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
I reckon people would be sick of my voice by now.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Well, dear listeners in Brisbane and Adelaide, right now we'll
go oh great, it's Amy ger Okay, yes, of course,
Sydney and Melbourne are going, oh, here we go again
because they've had you all week Monday and Friday on
a little fill in breakfast show, a.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Little two week temporary weekday brecky.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
They call it a trial. You know, feeling am I
being trialed?
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Well that's what you usually is when someone fills in
for a couple of weeks because they've had you know,
Abby Chatfield and some other people filling in.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Also, it's so fun. But four pm, Amy, she crashes
so hard. Yeah, I've got to start investing in like
thirty minute naps during the day before school pickup.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
I did twelve years, Yeah, breakfast.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Radio, and think about that and I just think, wow.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Broke me. Just I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
And if you do have a couple of wines to
get to sleep at night. God, you just feel the
more at four am when I would be terrified.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
I've done five days and I'm exhausted, and I would
never drink. I'm putting myself to bed at eight thirty.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
How long have you been doing breakfast radio?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Sorry, you've done five five days, You've done five days
of it. I would never drink. Okay, sweetie, I'll talk
to you in a couple of weeks see you.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
This is Crispage and Amy to Ride.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Amy is backing up from filling in on breakfast Monday
to Friday. Yeah, and Sydney and Melbourne. You've got one
more week of that. I've been doing a little bit
of bread this radio myself during the week on what station. No,
don't wry, I'm not moonlighting it, no for or anything. No,
it's just at home for my kids.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh cute.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
So you know the morning routine, right, it's hell to hair,
shoesform and oh witch breakfast.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
There's about three right.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
So I've decided to put a little routine and structure
into the mornings because with ADHD it's how I function
and surprise, surprise.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
The kids would have it too.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yes, so I'm putting structure in the morning by doing
a little radio show for them with like the time
and different music. So I'll go, right, it's seven forty
five am in the page Household. Now here's the food Fighters,
which means it's time to finish. You're putting your clothes on, Yeah, exactly,
and put the song on, and then I'll go keep
(03:00):
doing what I'm doing, backing lunches and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Well that song blazon. By the end of that song,
that job's done.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, that's actually so good.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
And then we yeah, I did we get past eight
oh five?
Speaker 3 (03:11):
It's time for the TV off and beautiful and yeah,
well we.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Have a different teeth songs.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah, And how do you find it working for the kids?
Is it doing good?
Speaker 4 (03:20):
Great for the kids? Yeah, I don't know that it's
great for my mentalness. It seems pathetic.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
No, it's actually really cute, and it's shining a light
on what a great dad you are because you're getting
creative and stuff like that. And all kids want that
kind of attention in the morning. And if you can
turn the most mundane task into something that's fun, kids
are more inclined to one play along and get their
shit done. I can see that working in my household too.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
It's been a very simple breakfast show so far. It's
just been basically songs, and it's nod to do this.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
No ads. We're commercial free, which is good.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
That's always good.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
But I need to add some more segments at home.
I think we need some competitions and giveaways.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Oh yes, okay, so you need prizes.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Yes, we could do beat the bomb.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Okay, yep, beat the bomb.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
I don't know that people do beat the bomb anymore.
Probably not Secret Sound.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Oh there's a good one and the winner, like when
they get the secret Sound, it's ten dollars and the
ultimate one.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
I know this.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Long time listeners of this station and other people on
it would know. When the kids say they've done their teeth,
I'll bring up the lie detector. Oh yeah, it always
goes great on radio.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Okay, every time. It's fool proof.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah, this is Cris Page and.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Okay, so obviously Chris and I are married. I don't
know to other people, Yeah, to other to other people.
Do you have any single friends?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
No, not that many.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
I've actually got a few, and man, it's fun to
like live vicariously through them. Like sometimes I'll get on
the dating apps and I'll do some swiping for them
just to see.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
What's out there and either log in or to create.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
As in, like when I'm with them, Oh sorry, yeah,
I'll jump on her phone. I'll just be like, oh,
let me see what what are you dealing with here?
So a girlfriend of mine, she's been single now for
a year or two, she decided I'm going to jump
on Hinge or I think it was Hinge. You know,
there's Bumble and Tinder and all those kind.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Of people using now because Tinder is basically strictly hookups.
Now is someone told me that there's no relationship finding
on tin.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
I'm assuming that's the case. But I think there's Bumble
and Hinge. I mean, I'm sure there's lots of them.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
There are these really premium sort of executive.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, there's Raya where they like screen you and you
have to be of a certain level of attractiveness and
have your own money and all this. It's just so wanky.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Check it out.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
You definitely not get in. So my girlfriend she's just
started swiping, swiping, swapping, and we're like, send us through,
you know, the people that you're matching with When I
tell you men like some of the calimber of men
on there, it's so.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Bad, so they should.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah. I was like, would you consider being a lesbian?
I reckon, you could find a better looking woman, then
you can a man.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
These days, every woman can find a better looking woman.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
This is true.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
But so over the course of a couple of days,
she was sending us all these profiles men who were
declaring their love and they would do anything to be
with her and meet her and take her out for
a drink, blah blah blah. But they're horrendous looking. So
then there's this one guy. She goes, Oh, this guy
actually looks all right. She sent us his profile picture. Yeah,
absolutely looks like a kind of hot, surfy dude. He's
(06:31):
got his glasses on, bit ruggedly handsome. So they're chatting
away all we can, and she finally goes, I'm going
to FaceTime tonight. We're gonna have a chat. She said
that when she face timed him and he answered, she
got the biggest jump scare of her life. And it
wasn't because he was morbidly obese or anything, but he
(06:51):
looked absolutely nothing like his profile picture. You could tell
it was the same person. But here's what's happened in
between when that profile photo was taken. This man, which
she very quickly learned, had lost his job, had his
relation and had his house repossessed off him, and was
(07:14):
actually living in a caravan at this point.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
So at least he wasn't facetiming from under a bridge. No,
I mean that's he wasn't.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
But he was also drinking from a goon bag, from
the bag, a silver goon bag.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Just look, we've all done things we're not proud of
with drinking, but I mean, you wouldn't do it on
a video call.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
You wouldn't do it when you're trying to lead with
your best foot first, right, and then within ten minutes
of them being on the FaceTime call, he starts crying. Now,
I can sympathize, like people go through hard times, and
I'm not taking anything away from that, But what are
you doing on hinge? Why are you trying to meet
(07:56):
lovely women and putting up photos of you looking bronzed
and son kissed and well put together.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
He's just looking for a warm bed for the night.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
You are the he is catfishing my poor girlfriend, And
she said, you're not gonna believe it. Like with I
sat on the phone literally counseling as a psychologist, basically
counseling him through things that he could have done better
in his life and how to move forward and how
to get him out of this rut. And I said,
this is not a good first impression.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
There's no appeal to her for that sort of challenge
of like you said he was. You know, he's obviously
a bit rough around the edges. Can she go I
can change him? Well?
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I do know a lot of women love a challenge.
I mean, I've done a victim relationship before where I'm like,
I can make him better. I don't think at this
stage of her life she's up for that, nor should
she be. You know, she's already dated her fair amount
of losers. She does not need a charity case. I
just thought it was hilarious and it's one of those
(08:55):
things where you think, is she being punked? Is this
a joke? She was like, I'm going to write into
HINGE and say to them they need to be screening
the people who were signing up these days.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
I got my first red flag when you were talking
about the photo of him and said he was right, rugged,
he's homeless.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
No, ruggidly handsome. My husband is ruggedly handsome. He's a
bit like hairy, and he's got the deep set wrinkles
and stuff. There's no pretty boy. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
And your husband, like, if he lost his job and
you threw him out, he would not look out of
place sitting on a piece of cardboard in the city.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
You know this is true. He's rugged anyway, there's slim
pickings out there. Stay safe, single women.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
But I do hate that though, when men use a
photo of themselves that looks a lot better, when men
post that online. You know, men will take a photo
of themselves that's really flattering, and men will post that
and trick people into thinking that.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
They something differ that women do. Men are the worst
for it. Men are always doing it.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Hate it.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Bloody men and their airbrushed photos.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yes, yeah, yeah, those filters, those filters that men or you.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
This is Crispage and Amy's ride to keep our finger
on the pulse of what the mums of Australia talking about.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Very easy to know.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
We just jump into the Facebook mum's group and see
what the big issue is this week.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
What's the big issue in the Facebook mums groups.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Okay, hey mums, just looking for some perspective. I recently
found out via social media that my husband's entire family, parents, siblings,
and partners are all overseas on a holiday together and
we weren't even invited. We knew his parents were going,
we are actually house sitting, but had no idea everyone
else was too. It's not even about whether we could
(10:41):
have gone, it's just the fact that we weren't included
at all, especially after I'd mentioned before how nice a
big family holiday would be for the kids. Am I
overthinking this or would you feel a bit hurt?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Too?
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Big issue?
Speaker 1 (10:55):
That's absolute dog.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
So it's her husband's family, her husband's family, and they
didn't know they were going away, so they didn't tell
her husband either.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
And he's obviously got siblings. Yeah, and the siblings have gone,
and all their partners and this particular child and his
wife have not been invited.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
She's going. Did I marry the black sheep?
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Yeah? Did I marry the least favorite child?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Because they know him better than anyone in the world.
They've known him since birth, they know what type of
person he is, and they've decided.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
To not invite him on the family holiday.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
In no world would anyone not feel upset by this.
It's not even that they're estranged, because this couple are
actually house sitting at the parents' house, so they've obviously
got a great relationship.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
But yeah, the invite would have been nice even if
you know they can't go.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah, you know, there's probably a reason, maybe they both
have work, or maybe there was something going on. But
if you don't even extend the invite to them, that's
pretty mean.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Okay, something kind of similar happened to me during the week,
and I had an argument with Georgie. Yeah, sort of,
because she came to me and said, I've been offered
a trip through work. It's to the Maldives, right, Oh,
amazing incredible place, shews.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
It's this mum's thing. But you know i'd have to
go for work and write about it.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Yeah, and I mean she goes, But I was thinking,
why don't I pay extra and take the boys with me.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Just as you? Just boys, just the two boys.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
And I'm like, oh, just so, just just you and
the kids five nights in the Maldives, That's that sounds
fun for you.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Wait, what was her reasoning before?
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Well, she was like no, no, no, the trip it's a
mum's get away, is like how they're selling these trips.
It's for mums, and you can take the kids because
that you whack them in the kids club all day. Okay,
that's the package, just like a mum's get a five
night get away. But I did say to her, like,
did you consider asking me? Or surely I could go
(13:03):
and you could still like.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Ride about And that's another plane ticket, you know, and
playing flight season aren't cheap.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
I take up one seat just the same as a
six and an eight year old like.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Yeah, yeah, I know, but it's still an extra plane
flight cost.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
I felt left out.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Oh yeah, so see you so you can relate to
this mom? Yeah yeah, I mean listen, is Georgie going
with other moms and their kids or is it just her?
Speaker 4 (13:29):
I don't know. Okay I didn't. I stormed out, So.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
I stormed out. Did you slam the door as well?
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Maybe?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Going for a drive pokey time?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Okay, you did what I did on Mother's Day? Yeah? Yeah,
go missing for.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Just go missing and something to do.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
And that's probably why I wasn't invited and why this husband,
because we're jerks.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
If you don't get invited on holidays. No one wants
to spend time with you. And that's why big issue.
I got dark.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Okay, this is Crisp Page and Amy Gerard.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
How you going Gerard Morning Chop nine?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
A I know on a Saturday.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Yeah, you've been filling in on the early.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I feel like I live here at the moment.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Amy's been doing Sydney Melbourne Breakfast six till nine all week, so.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
You're backing it up.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Thanks you, six day in a row.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
I did offer last night.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
I did message and say, hey, do you want me
to be sick? I'll take one for you If you're buggered,
I'll do a sicky the day off and let's do
the show.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
We're just fantastic employees like that.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
That's the kind of that's the kind of a I am.
I'm sick for you.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Do you have any theme songs for stuff in your life?
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I feel like if anyone thinks about me, I get
sent a lot of the genuine pony. That seems to
be like the soundtrack to my life.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
That's your love making.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Well no not really, that's when I'm going out with
the girls. Oh okay, I love a dance or boogie
to that song.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
I was a more usher usher at home with Ryan.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Oh, I just don't put you. But I don't play
any music with Ryan. But you know what I do
do when I'm in the ocean, I always will do
the dirt it dirty jaws, dirt, dirt, dirt dir. I
usually do it around my kids and they run.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Have they seen Jaws?
Speaker 1 (15:24):
I think they have?
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Actually, yeah, you're traumatized, Mum of the year. I know.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Hang on a second. If you watch Jaws, though, you
can truly tell that it's a mechanical shark. Yeah, it
doesn't even look like a real one these days.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
And a lot of them had it coming, like that
woman at the beginning.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
She deserved it.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Alcohol and night swimming. It's a winning combination. Yes, sure, yeah,
she had it coming. I only asked you about theme
songs because Ego, our producer, has one.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Hi you go, Hello, guys. Check out how nerdy this is.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Every time he's taking off on a plane, he has
danger zone.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
In his headphones.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Danger zone.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
So anywhere you're flying, whether you're alone or with the family.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Sense up for us. How are we going? You're on
the runway. I'm a nine and.
Speaker 6 (16:09):
Eighty six babies. It was. It was made in the
same year I was born, right top.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
It's my it's my jam so and I've probably taken
let's say, two hundred flights of my life, never missed
a single flight. Okay, Well, as we taxi, we get
on the runway, as the plane just does lift off,
that's when you hit the start.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Okay, So it's not so it's not when it goes,
nothing speeds up, so he's still on the ground.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
Silence, and then as the wheels lift.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Yes, that's it. And it's gotta be that because in
the movie that's when they take off.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Now are you actually playing this in your ear pods
on like through Spotify or are you just singing this.
Speaker 6 (16:47):
Back in the day before Spotify, I had to sing it.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Oh no, give us a few bars now, but.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Yeah, this is Spotify has been a great Okay, yeah too,
this would.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Go well on a plane, you sort of yeah up,
now getting a bit of a view.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Who gets the heart racing to.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Keep I could play the whole thing, really, the great song.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
This is Chris Page and Amy's Ride.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Got a new segment for you. I know this is
your favorite part of the show.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
I love new segments and don't worry, it's it's just
been ripped straight off Facebook.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
There's no creativity on your behalf none.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
I mean we've already done the Facebook mums guy, where
we literally go on to a Facebook mums group and
read it.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Out and get all our content from Facebook.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
And that's content. Well, here we go again. It's for
when you're going how to sec am I Am I crazy?
Am I wrong?
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Here?
Speaker 4 (17:47):
So it's a Facebook group called Who's wrong here? When
people go how to sec am I am I nuts?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Is it that? Or is it when you need someone
to you know? Like sometimes I'll say the sky's blue
and Ryan will say the sky's green, and we can't
you know, we're both stubborn and pigs. So do you
put it on the Facebook group?
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Well, all perception is a hallucination, so it's a you know,
that's how the brain works.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
The sky is whatever?
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Cover?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yes, okay, anyway, this is a more specific from who's
wrong here. My husband asked me how we could make
dating other people work six months into our marriage while
I'm recovering from giving birth to his child.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Wow, I think I know who's wrong here? Yes, but
I'll continue.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Married six months, our daughters one month old. I had
a brutal pregnancy and an even worse recovery. I'm exhausted, sore,
barely keeping my head above water. And yesterday two of
his college friends showed up at our door unannounced to
meet the baby. One of those friends was a girl
who used to have a crush on Everyone in their
college circle knew it, and I thought they barely talked anymore.
(18:55):
It turns out they do keep in contact. They were
laughing at all these inside jokes, kept touching his arm,
and after they left, he texted me at work and said,
we need to date others.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
How's this going to work?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
It's absolutely and you're going to tell him to take
his disgusting, ruthless ass out of the family home and
to beat it.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
This sounds like what an absolute pig.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
It sounds like surely that has to be a joke.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Now, you know when you hear those dilemmas on radio,
because it happens on other stations where.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
You go, I know they've made that up. Yeah I'm not.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
That is a legitimate question on that Facebook group. Yeah,
I mean, God, nothing riles me up more than this.
I feel like when you are growing a child. Women
are at their most vulnerable because of so many reasons,
like we're sacrificing our body, we've given up our careers,
(19:49):
our mental health, and then for her husband to just
allow her to create life and start their family together
and then go, hm, you know your body doesn't look
the same way, and you know, you know we should
have an open marriage so that I can go and
be with other people. I would not He would be
(20:11):
out that door within one minute flat. That is not okay.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
I'm racking my brain for an argument for him, because
I know it'll annoy you, and it'll furiate everyone listening,
and we'll get complaints that I stick up for this pig.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
I can't find an angle.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Yeah that's great, you can agree with me. No, I
can agree that this guy is an absolute pig. And
I feel for this woman that she's married such a
loser of a husband and had a child with him.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
I think this segment next time, it needs one that's
not as like clear cut.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
So we can both be like hmm, yeah and then decide, yeah,
that's okay.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
You guys read three point seven thousand comments on the thing.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
On that question. I wonder if there's any that say,
why not.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
There'd be a look smacks or something like that on
this you bro get it, get the college friend.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Oh my gosh, I don't know what accent that was
a looks maxing accent.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Anyway, that that blog needs a good, long, hard look
at himself.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
This is crisp Page and Amy Gerard.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Kids being sick or saying they're sick on a school day,
doesn't that just ruin your whole day.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
It's a real curveball, especially if you've got plans work,
or maybe you had the day off and you had
a lunch booked in with your girlfriends.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yeah, you've got a jazz cigarette, You're going to watch
Project Hail Mary and I don't know what that is.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Order dominoes for lunch. You've got a full day planned, yes, exactly.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
And Henry, my eight year old, tells me I'm too
sick to go to school at eight forty am school uniform.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Okay, yeah, just now with what a cold? No, he
legitimately has a bit of a.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Cold, like a like a runny nose.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
And I'm saying, yeah, and am I a bad parent
for going?
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Mate?
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Everyone has a cold at the moment when the weather suddenly,
you know, goes cold. Everyone's body adjusts to it and
we all get sniffles and a bit of a cough
and stuff.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
I feel like my entire family has like a little
bit of the sniffles. But I feel like everyone has
that all throughout winter. Yeah, unless my kid has a fever,
they're going to school.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Well I tried, and he started getting really upset, going,
I'm sick. I don't want friends sick.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
And oh the guilt.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, your friends are probably already sick as well.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
You probably picked it up from your friends.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
So I said, all right, I've just got to make
one thing clear. If you stay home today, I've got
work to do.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
That's a lie.
Speaker 6 (22:43):
I was going to say, what work.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
I've got an important meeting, I've got.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Things today that zoom. Yeah, this is not going to
be a fun day. I'm not going to be hanging
around playing with you. You are not watching TV all day,
you're not playing outside like it's in bed reading books.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah, because you're sick.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Or you can go to sleep like no screens, no nothing.
And he's like, yep, yeah, I feel sick.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
I'll do it. I'm like all right, And I thought
I'll give him to recess. Yeah, to bed. Yep, he's ready.
He was very good, but sat there and read his
books and everything like that.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
But then yeah, actually we did our work meeting, we
had the chat, and then I went and saw him
and went, well, it's almost eleven o'clock. How are you feeling?
And he is, yeah, I think I think I'm a
bit better. I think I think I'll go to school.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Did you really get you know what? That?
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Give me time for recess.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
That is the code, because I think I've had the
woolport over my eyes maybe one or two times where
one of my kids have said, oh, and I'm a
really sore tummy a little oh, i feel like I'm
going to be sick. I'm going to be sick. And
my mum was the one kind of similar to you.
She said, Okay, well, if she's having the day off
or he's having the day off, you need to put
them into bed. And I've made the mistake of, you know,
(23:51):
setting them up on the lounge. And when they've got
this unlimited TV Netflix YouTube like kids YouTube, they're going
to sit there happily all day long.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Of course, and that's sickness, that's that might be a
two or three day. By the time you get sick
of YouTube and the couch.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yeah, they're like, oh no, I'm sick again because there's
a Netflix series I haven't finished yet.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
I feel mean, though, if one of them was legitimately
very ill, yes, I would be fine with them lying
on the couch watching TV all day. But I've got it,
I can't set the precedent.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Well, you kind of have to call their bluff, and
you have to do it early on, because otherwise they
will they'll pull the sick days all the time.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
At least now your kids know if you've got the
sniffles they're staring down the barrel of just lying in
bed staring at the ceiling, or at least going to
school and playing with their friends.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Yeah, and reading a book like an idiot? What is
this the nineteen to fifty book?
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, I feel like you've played that well.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
All right. Actually, you know what I'll do next time?
Speaker 3 (24:50):
If they can make it, Georgie, turn the radio off
if the kids are there, Okay, if they make it
to lunch time in bed, then I'll go all right,
they're really sick.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Then they can get up watching movies in the afternoon.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Yeah, okay, that's fair, fair cool.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
This is cris Page and Amy to ride. Let's get excited.
Naeled it or.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
Feeled it always Ladies first with this segment.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
And well you've been filling in on the Monday to
Friday Breakfast show all week in Sydney and Melbourne.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
I feel like it's basically what mine nailed and faileds
are going to be around.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Oh breakfast radio will do your whole life and ruin it.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yeah, So my nailed is that I think when you're
waking up at four am in the morning and you've
got a full household of sleeping kids and husband and whatnot,
I don't have the luxury of kind of rifling around
in my wardrobe, turning lights on left front and sider,
having a hot shower and all that kind of stuff.
So I have a shower late at night, and what
I do is I actually pick out my outfit. I
(25:47):
have it all neatly piled in my bathroom and so
when I get up in the morning, I just washed
my face super quickly, chuck my outfit on and I'm
out the door. And so I have it down to
a like an eighteen nineteen minute window I can get
ready in that quick and I'm doing it so quickly
that I still have ample amount of time to stop
(26:08):
off on a drive through macas and get myself a
coffee and still be in here with thirty minutes before
the show. And I mean there's a little bit of
organization that goes into that, but I I've nailed it.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
The prep the night before is huge, particularly where both
ADHD yes. Do you know ADHD people their brains in
the morning that don't start working for like hours after
waking up, So laying out your clothes and things, taking
any decision you can out of the next morning, yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Because if I have to make a single decision on
the morning of, I'll be late. I won't get here
for six am.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Use that nighttime brain.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
I've nailed it. My failed is that because I am
out so early in the morning and then I obviously
still have other jobs. I come home and I still
actually have work to do, and then I go straight
into school pickup. So as a result of that, the
house has absolutely gone to shit, Like there is mess everywhere.
(27:04):
Because normally I can get up, I do all the
school stuff and get the kids off and then I
usually have about an hour to kind of reset the house.
So the kitchen's tidy, the bed's made. Everything in my room,
you know, is back in its place, whereas Ryan is
now the last person. The bed is never made, There
is no tidy kitchen, and the house is just it's
in a little bit of turmoil.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
And it starts messing with your head, doesn't it a
messy house You just walk in and you.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Just I'm like agitated, I know in your brain's not yeah,
And I just look at it and I think I'm
back in radio Tomorrow's I'm just I'm not even gonna
bother cleaning. I'm just leaving it.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
And you're on Brecky Radio Money now, the big Monday to.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Friday cash you can get a clean right, Okay, surely
has Ryan, I know you've said you would not do
full time breakfast radio for all the money in the world.
Surely your husband said to you, Hey, what if what
if they offered you?
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Yeah, He's like, I can retire. Yeah, like the hell
you can?
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Everyone looks at like the Kyle and Jack ten million
dollar thing and goes, that's going to happen again.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
There is no way. Yeah, and still no okay it
what's you're nailed and failed.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
I am putting up my you know, my Facebook marketplace
obsession as a woman.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
Yeah, yeah, I'm pretending to be a woman online. I'm
using my wife's Facebook.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Yes, yes, I'm buying a lot of stuff. But I'm
putting up my first selling items.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
At the moment, I have done up our old bugaboo pram.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Oh you've cleaned from the kids.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
Yeah, because it was sitting in the garage collecting dust
and rat poo and things that no one listening to
this will buy it obviously because you won't know because
I've done such a good job cleaning it up. And
the challenge Georgie says, I bet you can't get five
hundred bucks for it, because they're about two grand new.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
We bought it second Yeah, I don't think you're going
to get a second hand pram for five hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
We bought it for eight hundred second hand back in
the day, So I reckon it's pushing it.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
But you rise to a challenge.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Thirteen one oh sixty five. We are bringing back the
segment by swap and Sell on the radio. Give us
a call, buy my pram, help me win a bet.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Okay, what's your failed.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Okay, it's a weird one. It's about you, it's about me.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Yeah, ok And it was it was after the show
last week that I had to fail.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
When we finished the show and.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Went all right, and you went, I'm going to the
a bathroom and take my coffee cup back and I'll
see you near the lifts.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Yes, anyway, there wasn't many people around.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
I sort of wasn't concentrating. I went to the bathroom
as well. I walked out and you were standing looking
out the window and with your back to me, and
I checked you out, and I.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Didn't You're only human.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
I didn't know it was you.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Like, even though we've just been sitting in a room
for two hours.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
You're sitting in a room facing me, and I can
literally see sort of your head and you know, your shoulders.
It was like, and you dressed up in like the
short skirt and knee high sorry thigh high boots that day.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
And I walked out and saw you and went and
was like, oh, whre's that?
Speaker 3 (30:03):
I went off And then you go damy like and
it's like sister vibes right, I go, oh my god.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
I was perman on my sister and bread Chris. But
you know it was it was like two seconds there. Okay, okay,
that was my failed and you're right. I'm only human.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
You're welcome for that compliment that I went anyway.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Jeez, I'd be more offended if you didn't.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
Yeah, good thing you didn't dress up this week. But
there is tomorrow. We're back eight am.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
I'm coming in tomorrow morning. No, yes, I am high
high ugs. At least enjoy the rest of your Saturday.
We'll see you tomorrow, Nay, tomorrow
