Good morning, Hey John today, How are you good?
Speaker 1 (00:13):
John? New two are new songs.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
We've got new songs here. We've got the ninety nine
album Matt recently and Nick Norton's now seeing with us
and he's fantastic.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yes, we spoke with you boy Sam not that long ago,
and he said there's a new found energy in the
band with Nick coming from behind the kitten coming up front.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yeah. Well, I've always known about Nick. He was actually
at school with my son Sam, and he had a
band that hit his own band at one stage called Ganger.
They were fantastic and so he was the front man.
They're the songwriter, so he's a big talent. So we're
having the time of our life these days. And I say,
(00:52):
all right.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Well, new songs CLASSICX and I believe you'll also be
playing some deep cuts this time around, deep cuts of course,
lesser known songs on an hour, but I expect the
fans love that.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, We've got so many songs. That's our problem, just
like what do we what do we include, but more
importantly what we leave out? And it's always disappointing to
us that you have to leave out some songs because
you can't play forever, you know, these sort of shows
that we're doing. So but yeah, no, it'll be a
good show.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yeah, it'll be like a massive spring stage show if
you play almost everything, all the favorites four hours.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, we've been around too long, you know, that's good.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Longevity is going to start doing it over two nights,
you know, Part A, yeah, Part B.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yeah, we'll watch this space.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
We might do that later on.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, we'll We're talking about the songs that the fans love, mate,
there are so many of them. But what about you,
you're a personal favorite or two in the collection of
your favorite kids, so to speak that you.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Yeah, actually, one song I love is skid Row after Dark,
and we're going to we're going to add that into
the show. So, yeah, that's one of my fa But
so in my song Marseilles, it was a great song
to play. You know, it usually finishes the show before
we do an encore, and you know that one's like
riding the perfect wave.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
For me and take me away? Do I say beautiful?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
So over the last week or so you made sac
DC have been in the news with their chair announcement.
You opened for them on the nineteen eighty one Back
in Black Tour nineteen eighty one. Do you remember anything
about that tour?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I remember everything about it. There was a great tour.
That was the first time we met Brian. I'm Johnson.
We were great friends with Bomb Scott and you know,
it was a great tragedy when Bond died. But Brian's
a great guy. I'll probably get a chance to catch
up with him in Adelaide. You know, I haven't seen
(02:48):
Angus fo years, but we were all good friends. I
used to play golf with Angles and Malcolm and George.
Haven't we used to go together?
Speaker 1 (02:56):
How is a golf game? Do you get to play
different courses around the country when you're on tour and
do you have a favorite one here?
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yeah? Karen is probably my BA.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Can you speaking of Angus? Can you believe that man?
He's like an elite athlete at seventy isn't he to play?
The way he plays? Ends up on his back and
some stage like a crazed mosquito.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, he's incredible. Uh he I was going to say
like Rick, but then Rick Rich his whole life standing
still done pretty much.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, yeah, wonderful guitarist, your brother.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
But yeah, the anguses and if you watch, if you
watch Angus closely, every step to you that he does
is part of the actual song. Yeah, it's like, yeah,
real performer, it's all in rhythm.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yes, yeah, you're bringing special guests. Disgraceland sounds a much,
does that.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, Yeah, they're they're pretty exciting. I haven't actually, to
be honest, I haven't seen them play yet, but I'll
be seeing that nick this weekend. But everyone, you know,
they've gone over. You know, they've only played with us once,
but they went over very well. So that's what we
chose them to come with us on this tour.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I love it. Long history of absolutely yeah, yeah, no doubt,
no doubt. Over the years. When was the last time
you sat down and wrote a song? I said, I'm
going to write a song today. Can you remember?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Actually a while ago? Because the latest album, I mean,
I wrote some of the music for it, but I'm
sort of getting a bit lazy with the words these days.
And particularly when we've got a songwriter like Nick Norton
with us. So you know, there's a song called Escape
on the new album that I wrote all the music,
(04:48):
but I just handed it over to Nick and it's wonderful.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Like I said, you don't have enough room for all
the songs as it is, so maybe it doesn't really matter.
The tickets for the Angels Going Broke a national tour,
going four Broke, I should say not.
