Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda jam Nation.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I must say, if you were thinking of going on
a flight, and I was talking to my neighbor Reno,
He's going off to Turkey, I thought, whoa, you know,
that's a well.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
You don't even have to be going to those destinations
to be affected. As we saw on the news last night,
a whole lot of Jack's friends all of a sudden
are going to Wallt's university holidays. A lot of people
school holidays coming up, going overseas, flying through Dubai or
the Middle East. All the flights to Doha. Many flights
were suspended following the US strikes on Iran and I
RAN's retaliation. Jack's friends their flight, rather than going to

(00:33):
the Middle East, was diverted to India for refueling. A
lot of people anxious to see how they're going. An
urgent warning to Australians earlier in the week, several flights
from Singapore and the UK to Dubai and Doha were
suspended on Sunday morning following these strikes. Services through the
Australian routes were resumed, but British Airways passengers were stranded

(00:55):
in Dubai. An alert issued by the government's Smart Traveler
website on Monday, has advised that the situation in the
Middle East is unpredictable could get worse with little warning,
disrupting travel across the globe. But I saw on the
news last night a travel expert saying, beware bailing out
of your flights because I mean safety, of course, but

(01:17):
if you pull the pin on a flight rather than
waiting for the flight to be canceled, you can't claim
any insurance. You don't get anything back from the airline
if you bail out before they've canceled the flight.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Or what if you're stuck in someplace you want to be.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
That's right, and you know they're going to cancel the flight,
but you have to wait and wait until they do. Interesting,
isn't it. Did you see that flight last night? I
really felt for these people. This is a Quantus flight
that was flying from Perth to Paris. I saw the graphic.
They were almost there, fifteen hours in the air yep
had to turn and come back and there's a young
guy being land in Paris because I think just of

(01:51):
the airspace. Maybe that was it. But Judy says he
due to the turmol in the Middle East, you're flying
through that airspace yep. Sixteen hours in and probably flying
through that bit and it was too dangerous and they
had to come back.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Like September eleven, remember that Oh, Come from Home, Come
Come from Away, that musical based on reality, based on reality.
But when the twin Towers fell, all those planes are
in the air had to land somewhere, and they all
landed in New Founder.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
That's where they all used to refuel.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
And in World War two that's what they when in
that era in the forties, that's where you'd go and
fuel up your plane. A we're going to see that
happening again because Doha, the Middle East has become Dubai
has become a place where but also a place where
jets can now fuel and go to other places in
the world. It's a nice it's a dober hardbot. So
places like Singapore and Hong Kong in the past, that's

(02:42):
where you used to go to. Now those places might
come back into favor, but Hong Kong's run by China now, yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
And the Emirates. All those flights go through the Middle East, Interesting,
isn't it? And but would you go to the States
at the moment I just saw a story yesterday of
someone who was who was turned back at at the
gate because they went through their socialcial media and they
had a meme of jd Vance with.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
A bald head.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
That was all at took put on his social media
to have him not allowed entry into the States.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Stay home, just stay home, do the chores around the
hair
