Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda jam Nation.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm really so excited. I'm such a gushy fan of
these women. They are the biggest selling US female band
of all time, over thirty million albums sold, thirteen Grammy Awards.
They've just returned from their European tour. They are superstars.
Our Renegades are innovators, they are heroes. They are the chicks.
I'm feeling emotional and guess what. They're coming to Australia
for their gas Lighter World tour. I can't contain my excitement. Ladies, Hello, Hello, Oh,

(00:30):
this is such a thrill. I see you every time
you come to Australia and I can't wait to lay
eyes on you again. I know that you've just come
back from your European tour, the finale of which you're
joined by Bruce Springsteen. How amazing was that.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
We were joined by Bruce.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
That's how I saw it.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
We joined Bruce. I like to say it's the most
humbling moments of our careers in the last twenty five years.
I mean, his fans were very gracious, they were nice,
but we literally were playing for three hundred thousand fans
that were waiting to see Bruce holding.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Their spot in you know, in Hyde Park.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Now, we loved playing for that many people.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I like to think it was a gig where we
gained fans. That is our job to gain fans.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
And also I guess bittersweet memories in a way because
London was, you know, all those years ago when the
when the troubles for you guys began. Did you have
a feeling of like two thousand and three, that was
so long ago? We've come so far.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I mean that we don't really cross my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
You?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yes, when you were alluding.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
But I do love that Taylor Swift says that you
turned her on too politics and to having an opinion,
and she now influences millions of young women. That's quite
the legacy for you guys.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
She does say that it's very nice my daughter's turn
and she is the biggest Taylor Swift fan. And to
watch her watch the documentary where she says stuff like
that is just because my daughter, because I don't talk
about that at all, And to see her kind of
put the pieces together, it's just really incredible. And yeah,

(02:23):
we're big fans of.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Hers amazing and are you like a mother that your
your daughter doesn't find you interesting until something like that happens.
The fact is you have been together for decades and
in that time there have been children, There've been marriages,
they've been divorces. Has there been times where it's been

(02:46):
hard to come together and refocus and keep your the
music going? How has it been up and down? Or
this has been there's been a really great through line.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I mean, we obviously took a big break, but I
think every time we come together it definitely feels like
no time has passed. I mean, we're not genetically sisters
Martin Emily are, but whenever we get back together, I
mean it feels like.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
No time has passed.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
For me.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
We just have a sisterhood that I don't think can
be explained and it can't be on purpose.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
There's something in the universe that brought us together and
I think keeps us together. It's actually a very easy relationship.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
You guys agree, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
They're wondering who you are. Do you find gearing up
for another for a tua? Does it get hotter as
you get older? I mean, do you prepare differently these days?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
It probably should because it is harder.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
It is harder. But we've talked about how like when
we had young kids, it was even harder. Like when
you have teen you can kind of sleep in. They're
kind of on your safe wave length. They're kind of
doing their own thing. When you had to like run
off to the ballpit at the local like kids kidszone land,

(04:14):
it's a little bit different, and you have to be
up and you have to be there and play the show.
Now it's a little bit like, all right, we have
a little bit more time to ourselves, which is great.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Did you get to sample any of Bruce Springsteen's backstage rider?
Does he have a great backstage ride?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
We didn't, and and cringe upon his zone state and art.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Yeah, that would be that would be pretty uncool. The
boss invite you on stage and then.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Over here. I bet your backstage ride has probably changed
over the years. You know, when the baby era you
need toys and bottles and blah blah. You know, I'm
sure you've moved through that phase.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Now now it's dog dog are backstage is really easy.
I was just saying to our makeup artist the other day,
I should be more demanding, like demand an art studio
at every venue. I need my canvases and my paints.
I don't paint, but I want to have stuff.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Have you got like the full Stevie Nicks, your Stavi
and Mara want to be crazy there with their backstage rider.
You know she went like a horse and a and
a bed and everything in there, not enjoying any should.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Start demanding more.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Well, you know I've seen I've seen those riders online
and I know that ours has been on there and
it's total b us. It's totally those things are never
on our rider. And I think these people just mixed
step up and so these poor like pop stars, they
might have wonder things, you know at them.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
We should have a horse. I don't know a horse.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
The Chicks Gas Light of World tour starts this October.
Tickets are on sound now from ticket take and ticket Master. Ladies,
thank you for joining.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Us, of course, thanks.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I can't wait to see you in October. Thank you
