Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda jam Nation today. Ironing does it pass the
pub test?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:06):
I saw that one in three under thirty fives don't
own an iron. Ninety percent of those aged forty five
and over do have an iron and usic regularly. But
I saw a post where this woman said, I'm so
glad it's a generation we all agreed to stop ironing
our clothes and asking our production team. Most people don't
bother ironing their clothes anymore. You have yours sent.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Out yep to the Mongolian ironing lady.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, and she does a very good job. You've got
beautiful iron shirts, yep. And we've got the robin Hood
ironing station. Who uses that? My wife uses it? What
does she iron? If your shirts get sent? She irons
all sorts of stuff like what.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I know it's not my concern, but you know there's.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
So because often it's looks very therapeutic. It looks therapeutic.
You should try it if you think it looks so relaxing.
Ironing does it pass the pub test?
Speaker 4 (00:54):
I cannot think because anything more boring than sitting there
for hours and hours and hours on end iron everything
except for my undies and my socks. I love having
my shirts ironed. I work in a factory. I even
eron my hider's shirt. So yes, you look cleaner and
crystal and you look ready to go.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
Now it doesn't. I don't even own an iron or
an ironing board.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Ife's too short for it.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
Look, I think it does pass the pub test. I'm
a butler for a private family and I have to
iron yellow cases and sheets, and I actually do that
for myself or if I've got guests coming to stay.
So in that case, yes it does. But otherwise I
hate ironing for shirts and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
No, of course it doesn't pass the pub test. About
twenty years ago, when we lost that hour of daytime
in day lot, saving that, I stopped ironing.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Yeah, it definitely does.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
You can't be wearing wrinkly shit. You know your collar
shirts and you're nice year yeah yah nuts, but all
the other stuff if you're you know, I thought I've
properly and out. You hung it out. You know you
don't need to, but you know, I'll honestly, I love ironing, mate,
I could watch it for hours.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Amazing way I struggle with ironing. I'm left handed and
the cord comes out the back of the iron, and
it drags up the ironing board, so everything you've just
ironed gets screwed.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Don't they make a big left iron.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Oh, I'm not going to go and buy a left
left the iron, a left hand the press well. I
sometimes use a steamer.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Like I'm prisoner.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Put your own head in it from top dog. Look,
I'd love to work on a show if someone listened
to a single word I said. That might happen another time,
but not today.
