Speaker 1 (00:00):
Gold, hello there. It's Jonesy Demander driving you home. How
are you going? It was an emotional day yesterday. You
publicly announced that your dog of 14 years, little Minnie.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
She's still with us. Of course.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
She's got lymphoma. I know she's still with you because
a woman's day have come out saying, and it looks
like she's passed away.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
She's still with us. And this is a bit of
a problem when you talk about this stuff. But having
said that, if you don't talk about it, when do
you talk about it? So it's very brave of you.
to be so vulnerable about this.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Well, I took a lot from, you know how I
was crying over a dog I hadn't met, Simon.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
And he lives in New York. He crossed the rainbow bridges,
they said, just about a month or two months ago.
And his owner, who fosters a lot of dogs, but
that was her permanent dog, spoke so eloquently about the grief.
And it made other people feel that it's okay to
feel the grief. And that's what's happened. We've been flooded
and I love it. with people's photos of their pets,
(00:51):
people talking about their pets, people still crying four years
later at the loss of their pets. It gives us
all a chance to talk about how pointy and sharp
and horrible it feels, despite knowing that the dogs have
had great lives and our rational brain knows that this
is the circle of life. It's still so hard.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
On our Facebook page, we have been inundated, Antoinette, and
they're sending pictures of their little poochies. I'm so sorry,
writes Antoinette. I feel every word you said. We just
lost my beautiful Shelty Kesha three weeks ago. She was
14 and a half. But look at the little picture
of her. She's such a sweet dog. And Karen, this
(01:32):
is Trixie. In two weeks, she's going to be 15.
Little Trixie's face. Beautiful looking dog. And Trixie's still with us.
And that's the problem with dogs, I guess. They're not
going to outlive us.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
No. And lots of people at the pointy end. Someone here,
where are we? This is, oh, I've lost it now.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Okay. Well, how about I wrap it up with this?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
No, no, no, no, no. I've got another one. I've
got another one. This is the one. It was Mandy
who said, our 14-year-old girl is spending her last days
with us. We've made the difficult decision to put her
to sleep later this week. So many people are in
the drop zone of going through exactly what I'm going through.
And Chris Brown has said, sweet Minnie knows and feels
your love. But the biggest blessing is she doesn't know
(02:18):
she has lymphoma. She only feels the lifetime of endless love.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
That's a good thing that Brownie said. And Sharon, along
those lines, has written, every animal finds a place in
your heart and eventually takes a piece out when they
leave us. Thinking of your family, Amanda, Minnie will let
you know when it is time to leave you. And
it won't be easy, but she knows you loved her
and she loved you and the family.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Thank you, everyone.
